Ed pulls Jessica Rabbit aside and tells her that little act was cute, but too complicated for him to understand. He says her outfit is cute and her jokes are perfect. He says more charming things. As he walks away, we can see that our tall busty bunny is in love.

actually, he was sort of calmly reprieving her that some people are very serious about what she just made fun of... that she should have more respect for others (other cultures, religions, etc). So he was not really complimenting her.

I am going go pay tribute to Ed as a farewell by completing Paula's dialogue scenes...
1.
Ed arrives.
Ed: I came exclusively to see you.
Fern: But at 5 AM? What’s wrong with you? That can’t be! Take it easy. (changes his mindset) What a time to arrive, brother! (is happy now and hugs Ed) But you’re here! (ecstatic)
Ed: You got my text messages?
F: You were the one sending the celphone messages?
Ed: (to Fern) Who else could it be but me? The one who made you suffer all through your childhood.
F: You’re a nightmare!
E: Of course, because I began to see all the absurdity and enclosure(limited, locked in a given space) you lived with?
Fer: Don’t come to give me therapy (sessions)! I will go get your hat and close the door. You stay here.
(Marcia comes out)
Ed: Ah! Look! Speaking of ties…a kiss to the heart of a beautiful woman, to see if I can wake it up (her heart).
Mar: That’s it! Insulting from the start. (she is clearly not amused)
Ed: You think its an insult if I remember you were always proud… You’ve always been proud of having a cold, calculating heart. (Fer convinces her to leave them alone so they can talk and catch up)
(Ed plays the drum) That sound protects me from the bad (impure) energies. I am so glad I have my drum because with the few calls I made, I realized I wasn’t welcome here.
F: You talked to Omar?
Ed: And Arielito.
F: You talked to Ariel?? JA JA
Ed: You weren’t home and you turned off your cell.

2.
Fernando is standing in front of the mirror.
Ed: From the moment I talked with Marcia, I knew you two were tied (atados) to one another, (Fern uncomfortable) but with a big difference.
F: Yeah, she’s a woman, I’m a man (tries to escape serious) (Mirror is prominent, but Fern’s back to it. He doesn’t want to see himself in Ed’s ‘mirror.’)
Ed: No, its more complex. Marcia is tied to you because she loves you, she really wants to be your wife and form a family. You on the other hand...
F: What? what? (really running) I have the same desire. I want to marry um, um, Marcia (folds arms). Of course! Of course I want (that)!
Ed: Don’t lie. You don’t really know what you want. Don’t dodge me. You have presidency, money, women, power. But that’s not for you. It would work for Omar or Ariel. All the material things you have would make them very happy, it would make them feel fulfilled(plenos). But not you. You’re different.
F: How long have you been here? Already you’ve made me feel bad! Why do you have a knack for saying things I don’t want to hear?
Ed: I already noticed your sad reality. You’re not happy and that worries me.
F: (ticked) You’re wrong. Lalito! (a nickname for those named Eduardo), Ghandi. There is no man happier than me. I am extremely happy! Look! JA JA!!. (after ironic loud laugh, Fer has a scared face and hides behind divider, still shows up in mirror, which is what Ed is looking at, he can see Fer that way)
Ed: Don’t fake it with me. And as your good friend, I have to remind you that when we’re unhappy, we devote ourselves to things that don’t fulfill us. Sooner or later, there are situations that make us commit grave errors. Dangerous situations (Fern squirming) which put at high risk our life and integrity, Fernando!
F: Um, any ‘error’ in particular?
Ed: I have a feeling that you’re involved in a serious problem, that is going from bad to worse. And I’m afraid you won’t survive it. You could lose everything.
F: Ya! Don’t spook me! You just came from India! Yakarta! I don’t know, wherever you went! What do you mean “lose”? I’m solid as a rock. President! That’s me! Have you been spying on me with Omar or Ariel? Or are you poking to get info on me?
Ed: No, just intuition. Based on our close friendship. Stir your coffee which has 3 Tablespoons sugar in it. Do the same with your life. Look inside for all the marvelous sweetness that you have.

3.
Fernando and Omar in Fern's office.
O: Why’d you bring him to the company?
F: Pleeeze. I laugh just looking at him. Besides, I like him a lot. (Me cae excelente.) He’s nuts, but I trust him. He’s a good guy.
O: That’s the problem. You admire him too much. You always did. His locura is contagious onto you.
F: Crazyness is contagious. Reason is not. When have you seen a reasonable person infect another? No, we ‘locos’ infect each other mutually. What’s eating you? That I’ll be influenced by him? That I’ll listen to his point of view?
O: Don’t deny it, Fernandito. Remember when you told your dad you prefered a bike to the car your dad offered to give you?
F: Having all the money in the world Ed arrived at school in a bike and had lots of fun! Much more than you in that wreck that your ‘boss’ (father) got you, which barely ran. That’s why I wanted to copy him, to enjoy myself.
O: Promise me one thing. No le hagas caso. (Don’t pay attention, don’t give weight to what he says.) Keep your feet on ground. Don’t have your head in clouds like an embezzle(imbecil).
F: Ahh! He makes you jealous, right? That I’ll hacer caso more to him than you? (If only!) But don’t worry, he won’t stay long in Mexico.
O: How long?
F: How long? (worried smirk)...
(we come back to them after commercial break)
Again, Fernando and Omar in Fern's office.
F: What’s more, I’m very proud to have him as friend. (Omar quickly changes the subject to what will happen with Lety)
(Fer tells Omar Lety was very ‘forward/passionate’ last night, using some french term. Omar insists that it is time to take that relationship into the next level, he has to sleep with her)
F: She’s my asst, my right hand, my friend, my novia, my confidant, if you will… MI NO_VI_A! But (said something about begging with sweaty hands) don’t make me do this with her.
O: Don’t tell me, tell her! (imitates Lety’s tone) “Lety! Don’t get too excited with me please!” (No te alborotes mas de la cuenta conmigo)
F: I don’t talk like that! Lety does!! Besides, Forget it. I’m not going to. Punto.
O: It really sounds horrible (referring to sleeping with Lety) But, how do you plan to escape that? You can’t break up with her. Or are you going to play being gay or do you plan to make love to her via osmosis or Artificial insemination?
F: Last time we talked we agreed that we would not see each other but every week or couple weeks. So maybe she’ll forget that she desired me in a week.
(they get interrupted when they hear that outside his office they are singing “las mananitas” [birthday song] to someone)

4.
Later on in Fernando's office. Ed looks at his bookcase.
Ed: That’s why I wanted to come here. So many awards, all well deserved! Your employees are enchanting.
F: I thought you were interested in the work we’re doing. (that’s not what interested Ed)
E: No, that would bore me too much. You have more accolades here, you don’t need mine. Instead, I like meeting your common people who love the simple life, with joys and sadness, with stresses and anger moments. I love that. It noursishes me for what I do. By the way, Lety is marvelous.
F: Yeah, I guess so. You gave her a gift and you just met (he’s dodging).
E: I just felt like giving it to her. Surely it is for a reason. I think I identify with her.
F: But you’re not ugly. Hardy har.
E: Ay, Fernando. You have not changed a bit all these years. BTW, why don’t you tell me how goes your relationship with Marcia?
F: What’s that have to do with Lety?
E: (serious.) Nothing. I want to see you happy, my friend. And I don’t think you are. (falls right to sleep.)
F: (admits to self.) I’m not a bit happy with Marcia.

and I added one for ep 78.. well, a couple...
Episode 78

(Fer appologizes to Lety for not remembering her birthday, she tells him it is really not important to her, they go back and forth a couple times, she ends up telling him her parents celebrate it with her every year but she usually does not have a ‘party’ and tells him last time she tried it was a disaster, almost noone came. They both thought Ed was sleeping in Fer’s couch, but he has a small cloth covering his eyes… When Lety goes into her office…)
Fer: (sitting in his chair, whispering) I am a disgrace… (soy un desgraciado)
Ed: (makes noises like an owl from the couch, still cloth over eyes)
Fer: What is that? Special effects from the Amazon? You woke up?
Ed: I need to understand…
Fer: And that is why you cover your eyes?
Ed: Life looks better like this.
Fer: You are an idiot. How can you see anything with that over your eyes?
Ed: The one that can’t see past his own nose is you. Haven’t you noticed the great sensibility Lety has?
Fer: What are you talking about?
Ed: Pretty Lety. Surely she has suffered much because people see her as ugly. They don’t value her!
Fer: That is not just a comment. She IS ugly!
Ed: (gets slightly irritated at Fer’s words and takes cloth off his eyes to look at him) Because she does not look like the models you all work with here? And when one feels (or did he say ‘she feels’) … what happens?... Does she move you?
Fer: …yeah, … sometimes!
Ed: Fernando, I heard Lety talking to you just now, and I noticed she admires you, she cares for you and respects you. Treat her right. Value her… because she needs that.

(later on Fer is making a business call to Ricky from Bella Life, Ed is drawing in front of him, we see later he is drawing none other than Fer himself, as Fer gets off phone…)
Ed: What a boring job you have.
Fer: And you with your childish drawings?… Very entertaining…
Ed: Well yes, for many years and many courses I took worldwide. These little drawings let me exhibit them at many galleries.
Fer: Ah yeah? Such as?...
Ed: At MOMA…
Fer: (in disbelief) The Museum of Modern Art in New York? Then you are a great artist. That museum only displays the best of modern art! (the cuartel comes to get Ed to go out to lunch to celebrate Lety’s saint)

I just posted some comments on 77/78. I have to get off internet now. I'll try to post to 79/80, and 81/82, maybe tomorrow.

Oh! The photo! To me it looks like Adela Noriega.

i have seen that actress before but its not angelica or adela. It is someone else, i just dont know the name

Paula, I just read your comments about the drawings. I hadn't noticed that Fern was different; didn't get a good enough look. I did notice that he gave Juana smooth hair, rather than the agave style she actually sports.

I think he made the whole cuartel, esp Lety, a bit more beautiful than their usual look.

Marta, I think that was the whole point. Ed making the pictures look so good. That is how he sees them all. Pretty not ugly
like every one else sees them. Espicially Lety.

I love the scene where Lety and Fernando are in her cubby hole and they discover that Edwardo has left his drum for Lety. It is a very touching sweet scene. Funny though how it is all ruined when Fernando hears Marcia's voice.

Didn't Ed say the drum is to keep evil spirits away, or some such? I'm sure he thinks Lety needs it much more than he does.

Speaking of instruments, I really want one of those vibora things Ana Leticia had.

that 'vibora' was pretty and interesting but sound-wise it is nothing but a very heavy-weight maraca...

it was pretty funny how Jaime danced with it though... lol

Thank you for translating the rest of Ed's dialog scenes, Marta!

Nice job translating Marta! You rock!!

Julie, if I've said this before I apologize for the redundancy, but your early recaps are absolutely marvelous. Did you recently go back and update some of your vocabulary? I distinctly recall in one of the first episodes that Alicia called Lety a tlacuache con bigote, or opossum with a moustache (which is redundant considering they all have whiskers). Maybe the translator got lazy and wasn't really listening to the newest insult.

Luigi's dog looks like Alicia.

I thought RoboPop was kind of cute in his interactions with las feas. In general I like her family scenes even though they aren't the most exciting. Maybe it's because most telenovela families are incredibly dysfunctional and her family is not.

Pata, thanks again for the screen shot. It really adds to the program.

It's interesting to me how many scenes reveal hidden things about the characters. The scenes with Omar and Fern do it a lot. Omar tells Fern he doesn't believe in love and Romance is just something in novelas. That is why he can so easily tell Fern it is no big deal to seduce Letty to save the business.

Fern while acting the same way actually does believe in love deep down and is subconscienceously looking for it. He admits to himself that he wants what Eddie has and that it is missing with Marcia. It makes the story so much
more interesting to watch when there is some complexity to the characters.

Old Erasmo sure pegged the feas accurately. The one thing he didn't seem to notice is how extremely annoying they are. And wouldn't he flip out if he heard all the advice Paula Maria is giving Letty about getting her novio in the sack.

Gotta love the two private eyes on their spy mission wearing sunglasses in the dark.

Julia, good point about Ed leaving the drum to keep the evil away. I just thought of it as a gift from the heart, but I like your angle better.

I just posted some comments to 79/80.

I like how Fernando wants to share his friends - he's happy that Ed likes Lety. Contrast Omar and Marcia who don't share nice.

More contrasts, Lety vs Marcia. Fernando is so warm and content with Lety in the cave, but he cringes when he hears Marcia because he really doesn't like having her around. Fernando and Lety stand TOGETHER and both cry when Ed leaves, whereas Marcia stands APART and rejoices.

Results of Ed's visit:
Ed’s point: if you marry Marcia, you will never have a chance to really love.
Fern’s point: With this words and attitude, he helped me look at life another way.
Sue in NJ's point: Someone sees Lety’s beauty, and he adores her.
My point: In #35, Fern concluded no woman will satisfy him, so he will settle for Marcia because she’s better than the rest. Now he’s starting to accept that maybe something else is possible. That a love like that is not just in telenovelas.

Marcia is determined to identify the amante. But what then? As if, she presents Fernando proof, and suddenly he will fall into her arms and love her sincerely? Wake up, Marcia. If you're sure there is la otra, .. wake up!!!

Did you catch MamaJ's knowing reaction, when Lety said Fernando was taking her to dinner?
