La Fea Más Bella #209-210 2/11/11 Everybody’s Talking Trash.

Capitulo 208 & 209.
Read Chapel Hill Fiddler’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it. The first scene of 209 starts at, "Lety realizes she forgot the directions."

1. Lety leaves for lunch and Marcia is sure she’s going to see Fern. After all, she let him return to the office, and in the meeting he supported everything she said.

2. While car shopping, Lety tells Tom she wanted to get the trash bag of cards out of her office because she’s trying to forget Fern, but she couldn’t throw them away because they were once sacred to her. Tom asks, if she’s trying to forget Fern, why did she give him an office? Why is she working with him on the food project? Lety says it’s because of the financial crisis.

3. Tom recognizes that Fern has been respectful and he supported her in the meeting. Lety notes that Fern freaked when he heard that the project was Aldo’s. Tom proposes that Fern’s jealous. Lety allows herself to hope for that, for only a moment. She’s buying the car with her own money so he doesn’t think she’s taking anything from Conceptos.

4. Fern tells Omar it hurt to throw the cards into the trash can. They hold beautiful memories. He seriously says that he can’t accept the idea of losing Lety, of not being with her. He’s not so sure it was a good idea to ask to work at Conceptos.

5. Marcia and Ali rehash the morning’s meetings. Ali works at poisoning Marcia toward Lety. Marcia recalls that Lety and Fern both left right after Fern threw the bag of cards into the trash. Harsha calls Fern with her usual interrogation: where are you, who are you with, where are you going next, when will you be back? Fernando gets annoyed and Harsha gets upset.

6. Lety tells her diary that Aldo is proof that life has given her another chance to move forward. She writes his deep thoughts. She says, from the first, he made her feel beautiful and important.

7. The cuartel is sorting through the boxes. Sara finds The Letter and reads it to the cuartel. They understand the false romance part, but they can’t figure out he company part.

Capitulo 210.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Lety buys a sensible car. Tom convinces her that they need cell phones.

2. The cuartel figures out the business part of the letter – that the romance was because Lety embargoed Conceptos. Lola realizes that the board discovered the debt, and that’s what caused the chaos on the meeting day. Sara and Ali scrap over cleaning the floor they scribbled on.

3. Aldo tells Caro that he bought Lety the painting to make her office more hospitable for her, and to remind her of Acapulco. He’s not going to win her heart by gifts, but with his heart, because he loves her. Notice he’s in front of water again.

4. In Reception, Jaz says the big package is a gift from Aldo to Lety. Fern swats, kicks, and shoves the package. How could Omar and Jaz keep a straight face? Then Fern tears it open and discovers it’s a painting of a shell. Jaz tells him that both Aldo and Lety are out of the office, and just like Marcia, Fern concludes that his true love is with his rival.

5. Alicia calls her ex to beg him for money. She threatens to publicize her pathetic state to embarrass him. He hangs up on her.

6. Lety sees Juana taking the trash bag of cards from Omar’s trash can out to the dumpster. She’s pummeled once again because Fern threw that part of her life in the trash, but she feels she should’ve expected as much.

7. Fern and Omar bring the painting. They step off the elevator into the jaws of Marcia and Aldo. Fern tries to invent a plausible explanation of why he had the painting; he fails. Aldo points out, “You knew it was a present from me to Leticia.” When Lety takes Aldo’s arm, Fern nearly implodes.

8. Lety tells Aldo she loves the painting, but the shell isn’t broken like her heart. Aldo asks, “Does that mean your heart is still broken?”

Lastly, we saw something rarely seen on Fea. Sara's shoes. Notice they're not just heels but platforms. It's a wonder she doesn't get nosebleeds from them!

Comments:
Love the title -- and the screen shot of the moment that Lety for a nanosecond allows herself to believe that Fernando is jealous.

I'm sorry but I really liked all the moments with Aldo that Lety was mulling over as she wrote in her journal. Helping her put away fear, telling her that there is no fear if we don't believe in it, that she is beautiful because it is not the physical which is really attractive but what a person is inside. I even like the spiral of life in the curacol roto. And his new age philosophy is very good for Lety, It helps her stay strong ad confident. I know that half of you out there think I'm mental. But I like Aldo and though he may do something nasty somewhere down the road I don't think he's hurt anybody so far.

Güera

Güera, I think this board wouldn't be half as interesting if we all agreed. If we can see things differently, present our interpretations, yet not twist anybody's arm (which is exactly what's been happening), I love hearing all the contrasting input.

I just realized something today. In the ads for the Valentine's special on Uni, the two people who I assume will be the hosts are Elizabeth Alvarez (who played Marcia) and Jorge Salinas (who played Luigi's Rulli). Lizzy and Jorge were a real life couple; I assume they still are.

Well, we know where I stand on Aldo. I find the gift of the picture interesting because it can be interpreted a couple of ways. One, Aldo is keeping a reminder of himself before Lety's eyes every time she comes to work at Conceptos. Two, he gave her the picture to remind her of how he helped her in Acapulco. Either choice is all about him. I believe Aldo could be a very interesting character that would help both Lety and Fernando, but he's not written that way. I just don't find him to be a man you can depend on. Let's look at this: when Fernando screwed up and almost lost Conceptos, he chose to stay and help re-build the company even though his parents were awful to him and knowing he has to see Lety every day. When Aldo was rejected by his wife, what did he do? He ran away to Acapulco to shut out people and keep himself from being hurt. He spouts platitudes that sound good but he doesn't really live by them. Fernando is now speaking his heart so he's the one opening himself to future hurt while Aldo still remains closed off. Full circle.

I just posted three more photos. I was VERY late in getting the request to Pata. Thanks, P! I love how she's able to capture Fernando's payaso side.

Barbara,
I was thinking the same thing today about Fernando vs Aldo. Fernando has done some really bad things but he is trying to be better person. Keyword trying! and that is why we love him! he is flawed knows he is flawed but is trying to be a better person. Aldo thinks he is great and does not need to grow or change. He needs to be humbled to be more likable I think. I love jealous Fern. that is when we see some good Camil antics.
Jenn

GREAT pictures!!

Ah, the tension at Conceptos. You could cut it with a knife, but I wouldn't recommend it... there are a lot of angry people in that place right now and the last thing they need is access to a knife!

Okay, you (uds) twisted my arm! Pata's best pic today didn't translate well in the small format I normally use in the recaps. But since you liked her other shots of Camil's antics so much, I just posted the gem in large format.

Univision pre-empted some of the earlier parts of the 1st ep, but I don't think I missed more than the re-hash. I haven't had time to go back and re-watch the dvd's of the eps, but I thought that Fern was fantastic today with all of the comedy. I also really was happy that Lety recognized that someone could see her as beautiful and important (without needing her for the company). I agree with Guera on that point wholeheartedly (as you probably all knew I would).

Barbara & Jenn - I really think that we have to take Aldo at his word. Why would he need to lie to Caro about his reasons for giving Lety the gift...I remember understanding most of that conversation today when she questions Aldo about whether or not he's trying to conquer Lety through gifts and he says no I want to do it with my love. The gift is just a reminder for her of a place of healing...which Acapulco was for her. I think he truly wanted to give her something that would keep out the bad juju that Conceptos has...you have to agree that the office she's sitting in/all the hate from Marcia & Alicia & even Omar is some serious bad Juju. I think Aldo is very sensitive to the bad energy (although I don't get his being nice to Alicia).

I really wish that the cuartel hadn't found that letter. How embarrassing for Lety - I know they agreed not to tell her they read it, but I have the feeling that it's going to slip out at some point.

I noticed that Omar seemed to be back to his old ways today- lots of name calling from him.

My fave part was Fern kicking the painting. Did anyone catch the face he made when they got off the elevator and saw Aldo and Marcia? Hilarious...also loved his expression when he saw Lety hug Aldo. I can't wait for the fireworks to fly if he ever saw them in one of their sensual moments! jajajaja

One more thing - as much as I hate her character Paty Navidad does a great job of making you feel sympathy for Alicia when she's really feeling pain. Today on the phone with her hubby and right after Ariel slept with her (I think he raped her) for the first time was another moment where I really felt sorry for her character. She's really good in those moments.

Love all of the screenshots!

Oh and the product placements from Ford and Nextel were so heavy handed...I was wondering if Lety was going to go back to having a Mercedes- I think it's a testament to her character that she went for a sensible Ford. :) I'm liking her more and more...

Random thought --Why do I have the feeling that Lety's diary is going to end up being read by someone else before this is all over? It just seemed strange to me that she would pull it out and write in it while buying a car...Just hope it's not the cuartel who reads it. That would be HORRIBLE. I think Erasmo reading it would be the next WORST thing to happen.

As always I enjoy your analysis even if I don't always agree with it...

One more point I meant to make to Jenn - I don't think Aldo has ever said he's perfect. I think unfortunately the writers of the show won't ever give him anything to grow towards, so he'll always come off as flat, but I think had they developed him we would be seeing a lot more dealing with why he's been hiding away for the last two years and dealing with his re-connecting with his father. I think so far they resolved all of that very quickly and had him to focus in on helping Lety. Men are fixers and I think that helping to fix Lety is his way of healing himself. Why do you think he moved so quickly to DF to follow his Lety? ;)

Thanks Paula. Loved all the fun Fern stuff today. The caurtel antics were awful to watch however.
Work has been busy, so it is always a treat when I get home and know I have LFMB to look forward to and this board.

It's not that Aldo has said he is perfect it's more that he gives on that persona with his numerous pontifications. He always has an answer and he thinks he's right. Yes, he helped Lety to start the upward climb but he is now what Fernando was. Aldo likes how Lety makes him feel. He thinks she needs him to be able to continue to grow. But she doesn't need his philosophical wordiness; she needs a friend. I don't think Aldo is willing to just be a friend. On the other hand, Fernando is content to be Lety's friend and support even if he can't have her love. When you do a side-by-side comparison, Fernando is moving heads above Aldo. And maybe that's the way the writers want it. Because we know, Aldo can never bring out the passion in Lety that Fernando can. Fernando may drive Lety crazy at times, but the love she feels for him is intertwined in every part of her being. The feelings she has for Aldo are gratitude and friendship.

Thanks again for the fresh recaps and discussion. I remember the large seashell painting from the original showing, and some strong reactions to it. Now we have to live with it up on the wall for a while.
La Paloma

I don't think it's a matter of Fern being content with Lety's friendship - he's sort of painted himself into a situation where that's all he's able to offer her as he's back in a relationship with Marcia. But is his friendship really a true friendship? He's driving himself crazy because he wants more, but he really has no right to be jealous because he has no claims on Lety at this point because he's committed (not really) to another.

The thing I like about Aldo is that he seems to be more mature, especially in the way he handles things. Look at an example from today's show - Fern finds out the package in the lobby is a gift from Aldo to Lety and he proceeds to kick it like a little boy. Opening it. Who does that besides a crazy person? I think he does these things because he is immature, which is why I think he's still with his blankie (Marcia) as he obviously doesn't love her. Of course I love seeing the crazy behavior because it's always FUNNY, but it's still pretty immature when you think about it.

I think Aldo is actually mature enough to wait for Lety to be ready for a romantic relationship with her. So far he hasn't really tried to pressure her at all - yes ever so often (ok everyday so far) he asks her about the condition of her heart, but he hasn't really imposed himself too much yet. I think yes - he'll eventually try to tell her the truth about the depth of his feelings, because he doesn't want to be simply her brother (perpetually stuck in the friend zone). I like this mature guy for Lety because up until this point she's only been with people who have been too immature to see her real beauty.

Fern sees Lety's beauty now & he's actively defending her and supporting her efforts, but he's still not really ready to give his all for her love. He's afraid to be left all alone and until he makes the jump, until he loses Marcia I'll keep drilling him on his immaturity, because that really truly bothers me!

GeorgiaPeach,
I too am waiting for Fern to finally dump Marcia. Him staying with her is like an anchor that won't let the boat sail. It is very disappointing that he hasn't been able to stand on his own and be "by himself". Which would allow for more self introspection and further growth in his character. Even if Fern remained goofy, childlike, and yearning for Lety you would be able to sympathize with him if he wasn't "attached" to Marcia.

I agree the Aldon't character is one-dimension. He seems to be a "know-it-all" and would stop at nothing to get what he wants. All this asking if Lety's heart is still broken, I think is so he can plan his next strategy. I don't think its to help her at all. Not like Tomas who has always been there for her and a very good voice of reason. I super liked how he defended Fern to Lety today when they were in front of the Ford place. He pointed out how Fern was very nice and supportive of her during the junta.

I am just afraid to watch upcoming caps if Fern decides to quit trying for Lety's return. I don't think I can take Aldo/Lety. I also don't want to watch Fern/Marcia. And PLEASE there not be any horizontal mambo between Aldo/Lety, I will just puke.

I too love this board!
Diann
P.S. you are not going to believe this, but my word verification for the board today is--->dianings (Dian-ings) Jajajaja

GP, I enjoyed your speculation about "What if someone read Lety's diary?" Any other thoughts on that?

Monday's show, pay very close attention to the first scene. It picks up where Aldo asks, "Is your heart still broken?" Pay particular attention to all the nonverbals. Where they stand, how they stand, etc. 75% of the scene's dialog is nonverbal.

And veterans, listen carefully to what Lety tells Caro in her office. There is one sentence that will really surprise you, but we won't be able to discuss it here, por spoiler.

Yike the Lady Parts picture has made its appearance. I know that sounds gross but that is what everyone thought the first time around and it looked even worse when I saw it again. I sure wouldn't want that thing hanging on my office wall. I have to agree with Omar people that buy stuff like that have bad taste.

Skipped through most of the extended commercial. Way heavy handed even for Televisa.

Loved the scenes with Fern and Omar. Omar is very gun shy about love and the agony he is seeing Fern go through is reinforcing it. He also seems to be frustrated in not knowing how to help his BFF. Love him or hate him and I love him, he ALWAYS has Fern's back.

I honestly can not get over how dreadful that cuartel is. It takes 5 or 6 people to unpack two boxes? And the nerve to read a letter from an executive. Really low class and so worthy of being fired I just couldn't believe it. Who knew that one of them had the brains to figure out all the questionable financial dealings. And as some one said how horribly embarrassing it would be if Lety finds out they know everything.

As for Aldo it finally struck me what is wrong with him. He is an afterthought brought in because of the extension. His character wasn't well thought out. They couldn't have him appear in Lety's life as the rich man he is because she wouldn't have let him get within a mile of her. So they make him appear to be a scuzzy beach bum fisherman which puts her at ease and then introduce the fact that he is a famous chef and from a wealthy background. The biggest problem is the contrivance of his past, his wife splits with his friend and so a man that defied his father, refused to take a role on the family business and followed his own dream to be a chef throws it all away and hides away on the beach. I don't think so. I grew up around and worked with lots of men and never, ever when one lost a loved one did i ever see them quit and run. I just find that so unreal and adding all the New Agey Dr. Phil BS just makes him a paper character.

Decie girl, is that you?

Paula

Yes that was me. Don't know why my name didn't come through. How did you guess - loving Omar or over analyzing Aldo, then again maybe the Lady Parts. LOL

I'm having to agree with ya'll about Aldo. He's a poorly written character who is neither good nor bad just walking a line inbetween. I think the reason so many of us don't like Aldo is that he seems all fluff and no substance. Even when Fernando was at his worst, he had substance, albeit not good substance. Aldo seems a contrivance to prolong the final resolution of Lety and Fernando's relationship. He smiles a lot and flies under Lety's radar, but others have picked up on his lack of substance. It will be interesting to see what the writers have in store and to see on Monday how Lety answers Aldo's question about her heart. Whether she realizes it or not and no matter whether Aldo realizes it or not, Lety gave her heart, her entire heart, to Fernando. She had only given pieces of if before they made love, but afterwards, she had given all. That's why the letter hurt so much. If she had read the letter before their "vacation", I'm not sure she would've been so heartbroken. Thoughts on that anyone?

Decie girl--yes, the ladyparts painting. Hated it then, hate it now.
La Paloma

Yikes, you guys are right about it being "lady parts" painting. Now I can't look at it without getting past that image! Anyone remember the Everybody Love Raymond episode when Marie went to sculpting class and presented her project to Raymond. Everyone but Marie noticed it looked like "lady parts". It was a runny joke thru the entire episode.
I'm wondering if this painting is suppose to be subliminal. Aldo wants Lety.....
If so, boooo.
Diann

BarbaraM,
I think Lety would still be as heartbroken even if she read the letter before "vacation". She had already gave her entire heart to Fern prior to Cuernavaca. She declared to her diary "El es solo mio, Yo soy solo suo."
What I find so frustrating at this point is Lety's disbelief in Fern's love. I need Fern to grow a spine, declare finalmente a todos que el es ENORADAMADO con Leticia Padilla Solis. Y Basta con el desgreciado de Aldo!! Y tambien basta con Marcia!
El fin,
Diann

Paula,
I just sent you an E-mail, sorry so late. Dumbo me forgot to check my Email until today......

Diann :)

Oy! That painting was pretty terrible. Thank you all for making me think of lady parts...now I will NEVER be able to get rid of that association when I see it. jajajajaja.

I think I started watching LFMB a few weeks before the vacation to Germany and up until that point hadn't found the Caray Caray blog yet, so I really didn't always catch everything that was going on. I can't really say for sure because I'm still slowly watching all of the old eps, but I agree with you Diann that Lety was probably in love well before. From what I've seen she was pretty much in love with Fern 25 caps in. It was unrequited, but in her mind it was love...maybe she didn't truly give her entire heart until the first time they consummated their relationship though.

Paula H - you asked earlier if there were any other thoughts about someone reading Lety's diary. I think it's bound to happen - they wouldn't have brought it back in such a prominent way. I really just hope it's not the cuartel or her papa. That would be truly awful, plus I doubt Erasmo would ever let her leave the house again if he read it. :)

Aldo's Dr. Phil act doesn't resonate with most of you, but I do think that at least they sort of keep him consistent. I think Paula H pointed out that yesterday with Caro he was near water...he had to get out of the car and get some fresh air...I honestly think it's just who he is - even he is rather 1 dimensional and poorly written. I don't mind him so much.

Someone - (maybe BarbaraM?) mentioned that you've known & worked with lots of rich people who have lost a loved one too. My question is have they lost someone in such dramatic Telenovela fashion like Aldo? I'm sure it happens, but have they discovered an unknown affair (to them) between their spouse and their best friend and had to see it all unfold because of a tragic car accident? I think that double whammy of losing my loved one to death + infidelity would make me want to go hide away for a while too...I'm not so sure I could just pick myself up so quickly after that. I think my response would probably be to just bury myself in work and shut myself off from all future relationships for a while. He shut himself off and I can sort of relate...he ran away because he was rich enough to be able to afford to do it (I think). He learned a few Dr. Phil'isms to get through his pain, but didn't necessarily learn to take his own advice. I'm not saying it's right or wrong - it's just what his character did...as poorly written by the Televisa people.

Oh, I stirred up a hornet's nest. Maybe Lety was fully in love with Fernando before the trip but I tend to think that it came full circle when Fernando made love to her because he wanted to and not entirely because it would benefit Conceptos. The trip is where Fernando realized he loved Lety though he wasn't willing to admit it to anyone. I think Lety sensed it. Unfortunately the pull of Conceptos was too much for Fernando and he sacrificed Lety on the altar of his business. Now he realizes his mistake and wants so much to rectify it but doesn't know how.

Aldo is really an illusion of love for Lety. He's uncomplicated compared to Fernando and appears to have no ulterior motives towards her. She feels safe with him unlike how she felt with Fernando. Lety doesn't believe that Aldo would hurt her like Fernando did. She trusts in his friendship and it gives her a measure of peace. But if her heart was really whole again she would be able to work with Fernando instead of going into a tizzy. Her heart belongs to Fernando and I don't think Lety and Aldo will ever consummate their relationship. Lety knows in her heart of hearts that the only one for her is Fernando.

What I find interesting is that Fernando is stretching himself, except where Marcia is concerned. He is acknowledging his feelings and his confusion instead of hiding behind an image of a corporate president. Aldo, on the other hand, is hiding behind the image of a laid-back beach bum who spouts platitudes and philosophical verbage in order to win over Lety. I wonder how long it will take her to realize that what he says is not necessarily what he truly believes. Aldo has embraced a way of life in order to deal with his pain and hide from life. It's somewhat cowardly whereas Fernando is facing the truth and placing himself in the line of fire in order to help Lety and Conceptos.

BarbaraM,
Very nicely said. I Ditto that.
Diann

I'll withhold judgement on whether Aldo is an illusion of love until we see if he gets anymore substance. I think he's what Lety needs right now so that she will be stronger. I'm still not so sure he's any less cowardly than Fern currently is, but I can agree with mostly everything you said Barbara. I just want to give Aldo the benefit of a doubt for now - we've had much more time with Fern than Aldo so far. I can give Aldo a little bit more time to develop, but I say he's the medicine she needs for now.

Georgia Peach, you're right about Aldo being what Lety needs now. He's safe for her and she needs a safe haven to shelter her from the storm of Conceptos. Let's see what the writer do with him and with his relationship with Lety.

Interesting that someone thinks that another person will read the diary. Lety is a little careless with it, leaving it out on her bed where Erasmo could have seen it. And, let's face it the cuartel has no boundaries so if they stumbled on it they wouldn't just let it alone. (No spoiler just an observation on the question someone else posed)

I am still absolutely appalled that Julieta read it. It is such an extreme violation of privacy. It isn't as if Lety is some prepubescent adolescent who might have been doing drugs or something. She is an adult who has to be at least in her mid twenties. Part of Lety's real problem is that her parents continue to treat her like a five year old. Yes she will always be their little girl but they have to learn to let go and let her fly and make mistakes. The road to hell is paved with good intentions which is what Julieta had but it is still a terrible violation of trust.

First we had the infamous Bolsa Rojo and now we have the Bolsa de recuerdos. I thought Lety was a tad hypocritical moaning about Fern tossing the bag out since when she got caught with it by Marcia she was heading to dump it in the trash herself. Obviously she left it with Marcia who brought it to Fern's office. Poor Fern got caught with it by Marcia (the guardian of the garbage apparently) and was forced to leave it in the wastebasket. How many days passed with no one emptying the garbage? It's really too bad that Lety didn't overhear Fern telling Omar he regretted having to let it go since it mattered to him. Funny how she is never around when something that would reveal Fern's true feelings happens, only when something happens that she can jam into her idea that he never loved her. Ah Noveleland.

I have come to the conclusion that another reason for disliking the cuartel is that they are all bullies. They are perfect examples of Schadenfreude - enjoying the misery of others.

Sorry for the late post, it was a busy weekend.

Pata, you really outdid yourself this time with the screen shots. They are superb. Paula thank you for your recap. I know you love this show but I'm still amazed that you are able to do your recaps every day. Thank you for your labor of love.

Great comments today everyone. Fernando's scene with the painting was hilarious and incredibly immature. Sometimes I enjoy his antics so much that I forget that he can be slightly obnoxious. I am always willing to forgive him because he's very lovable.

Barbara's comment: "...Aldo can never bring out the passion in Lety that Fernando can. Fernando may drive Lety crazy at times, but the love she feels for him is intertwined in every part of her being. The feelings she has for Aldo are gratitude and friendship." Well said! That sums up the situation very well IMHO. Still, Lety could mistakenly interpret those feelings as something that could be very longlasting and eventually turn to love. I hope not. In Friday's episode when she conveyed her feelings about Fern to Tomas she seemed to have a good grasp on how deep her feelings for Fernando go.

@GP - I'm not an expert on these things but so far in any TN I've seen where there has been a diary it has always been found and read by the most inappropriate person possible, usually because people leave their diaries laying around in the most inappropriate place possible. I was surprised when Julieta read it for the reason decie girl states, but I was happy it was Julieta and not someone else. I always get a feeling of impending doom when Lety starts writing in her diary.

The only thing I'd add Sylvia and Barbara is that Lety also feels some attraction to Aldo. It's there - even though she doesn't necessarily always admit to it. You see it especially lately with their interactions with each other so it could grow into love. I agree though - she really is in LOVE with Fern.

I get that feeling of doom when I see Lety write in her diary as well. the other day when Simon grabbed her bag and put into the box...I thought that was the moment when someone was going to read that diary. I think it would be terrible if Marcia read it as well...ugh can't stand that woman!

I agree that Julieta had no right to read her grown daughter's diary. I really fault Lety's parents for most of her problems...I get that they gave her a great set of values and a moral compass, but they really have stunted her growth. The way that Lety reacted to new experiences, relationships etc is as a direct result of her parents smothering her. So they probably wouldn't see it at all as an invasion of her privacy. You could even see it in Lety's reaction to her mother's reading the diary - I would have been angry. Plus I don't think the conversation between my mom and I would have gone as nicely as it did between Lety and her mom in that same situation.

Yes Deciegirl the cuartel are a bunch of bullies. They are not really all that nice although - their bullying usually is done just to protect one of their own...so I forgive them although if I were the boss there they would have been fired a few episodes in...

Sylvia, "Paula, I know you love this show." Aw, shucks! Does it show?

Sylvia, now that Julieta has read the diary, have the TN gods (or perhaps the TN patron saint of diaries) been satisfied?

Decie girl, I think the day Lety left Conceptos, she was planning to take both trash bags home, not to the dumpster. Didn't the other bag have her Moty cup or something?

Decie girl, you asked, "How many days passed with no one emptying the garbage?" Actually it's all been today, the longest day. Today started in #201 at the judge's office. Fern begged for office space. In #203 Lety found Fern had left the bag when he vacated the president's office. In #207 Lety told Saimon to pack up Fern's things, including the bag. When Marcia sees it in Fern's office, he puts it into the trash can to pacify her. Then in #210 Juana hauled it to the dumpster. And this longest day is nowhere near finished.

I hope the TN gods have been satisfied but I still get all angsty when I see that diary.

Good Lord this is still the same day!? It is indeed The Longest Day.

@Georgia Peach - I'll buy that Lety feels some attraction toward Aldo. It's probably stronger now that she's back at Conceptos where almost everybody else is gaga about him. It's another notch for her that he likes her best of all and happily shows it.

I hope this day ends soon...if for nothing else so we never have to see that horrible pink jacket + pirate shirt combo on Lety ever again.

Fingers crossed that the TN diary gods have been appeased by Julieta's reading of Lety's diary. Yes - the attraction is prob much stronger for Lety now that she see's everyone thinks that he is THE CAT'S MEOW at Conceptos! hahah. I find him attractive, but the reaction there has been a lot over the top. ;)

PS @Paula H - I finally watched cap. 26. It was a really good episode. So many moments that have or will go full circle in that ep.

Diann, I'm not sure but I think that Everybody Loves Raymond episode was actually mentioned in one of the old recap comments in regards to that painting!

I'm extra-grateful for the screen shots this time because when I got home Friday night I discovered that my machine had destroyed (rendered unreadable) the DVD-RW within. So that day's episode, as well as the previous night's Mujeres Asesinas and that week's House were all gone too before I had a chance to see them.

There's a new disk in there now and all appears to be okay for the moment, knock on wood, but I'm probably going to have to get a new machine. :(
