La Fea Más Bella #233-234 3/1/11 I hate writing titles.

Capitulo 233.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Tom gives Ali the check. But when she takes it to the bank it’s refused because the signature is invalid.

2. Fern tells Carla that it would be easier to solve his problems if Lety were with him. Carla says then he should fight for her. Fern wants to, but he doesn’t know how, especially with Aldo in her life. Carla says he should make Lety jealous via Carla.

3. Ali brings in a designer to redecorate the office since she’s president today. Ariel arrives and screams at her for sitting on the throne, then he loudly kicks her out. The cuartel mocks her, but Irmita’s dicho for today is, “Quien mala anda, mala acaba (he who goes doing bad gets a bad ending).”

4. Lety and Aldo fight. He says, “As long as you don’t forget about Fernando, you will never know true love.” See the transcript. That goes too far. She knows Fern is suffering, and it hurts her.

5. (Time passes.) Lety says it’s good that they fought because it forced her to examine herself. Aldo says, “If you’re sure your love Fern so much, fight for his love. In the same way I will fight for your love.” Lety says that’s a lost cause. So she wants to fight to be free and at peace. Then he says he’ll fight for her happiness. She says that if she can recover, then maybe she’ll be ready to love him, and she’d like that.

6. Marcia calls and says Fern can call if he wants to talk to her; she’s not going to call him any more.

7. Lola suggests that for secretaries’ day, they learn the routine of the dancers for the expo. (There’s more to it that I don’t understand.) Marcia calls, and she hears that Lety went with Aldo to SMR, so she’s not with Fern.

8. Meanwhile Carla gives Fernando a massage and kisses his ear. He leaps away and covers himself. She says they’ll be traveling together for the next 20 days, and a lot can happen in that time.

9. Lety tells her diary that even with this time apart, she can’t stop thinking about Fernando. Time passes. Fern travels with Carla. Aldo finishes writing the book. He teaches Lety to cook. They work on recipes for the expo. Erasmo considers Aldo like family, and he thinks they make a nice couple. Aldo gets the call that his book is finished.

10. Saimon is still avoiding Paula, and she determines to win him back, because he’s the only man who didn’t ditch her after she slept with him.

Capitulo 234.
Read Chapel Hill Fiddler’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. MamaJ tells Aldo that Erasmo likes him, unlike any other male friend of Lety’s. She says Pop is very protective because of unpleasantries in the past. Aldo probes for more info but Pop arrives.

2. At the front gate we learn, A. the expo starts tomorrow, B. Fern returns today, C. nobody has news of Marcia, D. Tom bought Ali’s embargoed car, and E. Ali arrives on the micro. She sees the MB and is sure it’s hers. When they say it’s Tom’s, she’s sure he bought it for her.

3. The vortex has had a makeover. Does that mean it’s moving into a new etapa in its vortex life? Will it dump its good-for-nothing boyfriend? Finally forgive the mother who abandoned it in infancy? Confess to a canallada and begin restitution?

4. Ali offers to set up arrangements to pay Tom back for her car. He says, “Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay me anything,” and she’s thrilled. But he says, “I bought the car for me!” She says he’s always ruined her life. He says he’s always wanted to be close to her.

5. Tom admits to Lety that he bought the car so Ali would pay attention to him again, and so they could enjoy it together. Tom asks about Fern returning. Lety says she’s different from Tom because she’s learned her lesson, while he still chases a lost cause.

6. Lety tells her diary that she’s dying to see Fern again. She remembers his promise that when he returned he’d find a way to show how much he loves her. Paula says Fern returned and didn’t ask about her, only Marcia.

7. Saimon is still cold to Paula, so she says that from today on, she’s “libre,” i.e. she has no obligation to him. He says he doesn’t care. Tom sees his phone bill from the month Ali has used it.

8. Fern tells Omar his plan to act like he doesn’t care around Lety. Omar says Lety and Aldo have been together all the time.

Spanish Lesson. Lety Overheard Aldo.

Aldo and Lety in the cabin after the gorge. She overheard, “She should let me kiss her and make love to her.”

A: You have every right to be angry, I only ask you to be clear who your anger is against.
L: I don’t like you pressuring me. Ever since (?) I’ve felt guilty with you, I would prefer to feel free to..
A: (he interrupts her) to keep dreaming that Fernando will marry you one day.
L: Claro que no.
A: Claro que sí. That’s why you’re angry at yourself. You haven’t lograr (accomplish) break away from him. You keep depending on that guy, who the only thing he’s done is betray you.
L: It’s that I would like to..
A: (he interrupts her again, yelling) Why don’t you realize that like this, you’ll just keep suffering.
L: No, I …
A: (he interrupts her again) Look. As long as you don’t forget about Fernando, you will never know true love.
L: How dare you say that to me? What do you know? (harshly) Do you believe that my love for Fernando wasn’t real?
A: Maybe it was. But he NEVER loved you. (LIAR!!!)
L: Enough! You can’t lecture me. What right do you have? Remember that because of your indifference, your wife took your friend as her lover. .. (She regrets that she went too far.) Forgive me. Please.
A: Maybe you’re right.
L: I don’t have the right to judge you either. But let me say something I’ve been thinking about. Aldo, what I feel for Fernando is very strong. Very strong because [we went through everything together / it went beyond everything ?]. I fell in love for the first time, and I fell deeply in love. I swear that I [XG – hated?] him with all my strength. But now, I’ve also learned to worry about him. He’s suffering, Aldo. I don’t know the reasons, but he’s suffering, and that hurts me.

Comments:
Wow, Aldo learned quite a lesson today. When you push Lety too much, she fights back and it ain't pretty. I know she was sorry afterwards, but it was great seeing her give Aldo his due. And the gall of him to lie and say to Lety that Fernando never loved her is unbelievable.

Fern on the other hand - what was he thinking of? I find it interesting that they chopped his scenes in NY and we don't know what happened between him and Carla. I think he remained true to Lety but I'm sure Carla went after him with gusto. This actress always plays these types of parts. She needs to break out of that mold.

Aldo is still playing the parents. Amazing what he gets away with; sort of like Fernando in the beginning. It looks like Adlo and Fern are flip-flopping places.

In the vortex makeover, can anyone tell what picture #4 is? The others are: the Benny Ibara clip, the dreaded horse/underwear commercial, the Bella Life perfume commercial with Issabela C, ??, the Yuri & Mijares event, and the bodywash commercial.

Hey! Aldo came to DF and his house was part of a high-rise. Now it’s in a Mexican version of a ranch style (would you call that a rancho?). What’s up?

Fern says it would be easier to solve his problems if Lety were with him. Wrong! He didn’t start fixing any of his problems until after Lety left him.

Fea is full of things that don’t make sense. Omar’s car roof is up and then down in the space of moments. A soup bowl appears on Fern’s desk before Lety brings it. A near-bankrupt company can do a big remodel. But today I saw the most incredible thing of all. Aldo wrote the last paragraph of his book from scratch, and it was finished. I’ve written two books. When you write the last page, your work is only half finished! And the second half isn’t nearly as much fun!

Thank you Paula for today's recaps! I know you said today was busy for you today - I hate month ends and I'm not a financial person at all.

I was SHOCKED that they did a whole time warp thing today given we'd just talked about it a week or so ago. Although I thought it was a little confusing I was sort of glad we were spared of a lot of filler with the cuartel and some of the other characters. They at least moved the story along - although I wanted to see some of what Fern's growth process was like...if there was any.

Wow- Lety really hits below the belt when she's pushed into a corner huh? That comment bought Aldo another 20 days with him by her side. I think she prob should have stood her ground and insisted she needed this time alone. I am, however glad he told her that if she truly loved Fern that she should fight for his love. Wisest words so far in this series.

I take back every mean thought I had about Tomy yesterday. The way he signed the check for Alicia was brilliant. He might be a lot smarter than I gave him credit for - I hope he can hold out for the rest of the series...he has resisted several times.

The makeover in the office seemed inspired by the sea- at first I thought Aldo/Lety had a part in it...did anyone notice that the blue at the bottom looked like it was shaped like waves? How could they afford it though - doesn't make any sense to me at all, but...we're in LFMB land so I won't worry my pretty little head about it. I'm sure it'll go unexplained just like what if any consequences there were for Alicia's being president de conceptos for the day. SMH

Fern has decided to play hard to get eh? Can we go ahead and call this one step back? Please? Did he ever break up with Marcia, Marcia, Marcia? I know he decided to in yesterday's eps, but I'm assuming he's waiting for her to arrive from London to break the news?

Today Omar seemed to be the most perceptive person in the show. I'm glad he called BS on Fern's focusing only on the company. I have to admit though Fern was great for a while...he was stable!! Yes - I sort of enjoyed those few brief moments of sanity from him.

I didn't mind the scenes of Aldo with the family. I think it's again very unrealistic that his book would have been published in less than 3 weeks. But again I won't worry my pretty little head over such details...we're in LFMB land and ANYTHING is possible here...

Can I discuss how happy I was with Tomas today when I realized that he hadn't just put the company on the brink of financial disaster? That I think was my happiest moment - when Alicia got turned down at the bank!

Again thank you Paula for working so hard to put the recap up. :)

Thanks Paula, I actually watched most of this. Sometimes I am multi-tasking and have it on so I can record it. I noticed a couple of cute moments that I had missed before. The first was with Omar and Luegi when they were finishing the commercials, and Omar had fallen asleep against Luigi.

The other was when the caurtel was looking for Irmita and she did a little ballet swish away from Luegi to go over to the cuartel. That was really cute.

Loved when Fern suddenly realized what Carla was up to and jumped out of the bed.

Thanks for the Spanish lesson. I never really paid much attention to what they were saying before and have noticed that my CCS have really been poor lately. Thay are chopping off half the words and running them all together. It is worse than the CC3's they have using on Eva.

Thank you, Pata, for more great pictures. I just added another Tomy/Alicia picture to yesterday's recap; I missed it when I was writing the summary.

On the old recaps they've talked a lot about filler. LFMB had 130 more caps than BLF, and people have the impression that everything was padded throughout. That's not true. Almost all the extra material was added in only six specific places, and most is what I call "block inserts." Mexico took four specific side trips to examine something more closely:
4 for Hippy Ed.
30 for the time of bliss between Omar's apartment and the letter.
10 for Fernando's NY trip.
50 tacked-on episodes.
I won't comment on the tacked-on 50 because we're not there yet, but I think the other block inserts were very worthwhile. I think they gave us a better understanding of the plot and characters.

Then there is the ugly filler:
10 caps before Fern left for NY
10 extra caps in Acapulco. Actually SOME of the extra material in Aca was worthwhile.

That leaves only 15 caps worth of remaining filler scattered through the rest of the series, or 5% padding.

Now that we've just passed the NY block insert, what's your opinion? Do you think the show benefits from the inserts (not counting the ugly filler)?

Paula, thanks for getting back to me.

As for your question, I thought that the NY filler did often look like filler. There were so many NYC travelogue scenes. Also the balloon ride & the visit to the gorge seem like filler too. Most of Acapulco seemed pretty relevant.

I like the way Omar is developing. As someone said he is sometimes the one making the most sense these days. I loved Tomás and his clever signature ploy.

Güera

GP, is the "hard to get" a step back? Let's wait and see how he plays it, and how it works out.

Did he ever break up with Marcia? Nope, but he hasn't seen her yet. And if he has any decency, he'll have to wait until they can be alone and uninterrupted, which really means her apartment. So I vote that we cut him some slack until that opportunity comes.

Okay, here's my rant. Aldo says MAYBE Lety’s love for Fernando was true, but he NEVER loved her. BASTA! That was the line that changed me from a fence-sitter to an Aldo hater. Aldo absolutely knows Fernando loves Lety. He’s said so many times. When Aldo says “he never loved you,” it’s a boldfaced lie. Aldo says he loves Lety and wants to make her happy. The thing which causes Lety the greatest pain is that Fern never loved her. Aldo holds in his hands Lety’s happiness, but instead he lies to her face. That goes far beyond basic selfishness. In my book, he just became worse than how Marcia treats Fernando.

Now, a word about the Aldo supporters. You've always put conditions on your support for Aldo, which is wise because much of his character was not yet revealed. I got the impression that you believed that Fern, in his present condition, was no good for Lety, and I think the Fern supporters agreed. You also said that Aldo, in his present condition, was exactly what Lety needed, and I think the Aldo haters had to agree, at least up to a certain point. You held out the limitation that Aldo could turn ugly.

Julie suggested that the fight was a turning point, and Aldo would get more selfish and Fern would get less selfish. I think we're seeing an inverse relationship (see the graph above, a typical inverse relat.) - Fernando started as a bum and he is gradually becoming a better person. Aldo started as Mr. Perfect and he is gradually getting worse. We saw it in the selfishness and relentless seduction pressure yesterday and the boldfaced lie today.

So tell me, Aldo supporters. Am I being fair? Am I reading your position correctly or am I trying to put words in your mouth? If my hunch is correct, all of us can agree that the graph above describes the two men. What we won't agree on is how far along we are on the graph. If that's the case, then it also says to me that it made perfect sense to be on Team Aldo at the beginning. You'd almost be crazy not to (except for our emotional attachment to Don Fernando). But if he crosses the point where the two lines cross, that's the time to switch teams. The question is, when do those lines cross?

I can't comment on Hippy Ed or the Bliss between Omar's apartment and the letter so much - I started watching sometime around then and still haven't had the time to catch up. What about that blasted day that never ended when the cuartel was involved in helping to shoot a commercial because Luigi was in Germany? I remember that day well and wondered if any of it was filler - was that included in the days before the letter? If so - I really think that part could have been trimmed a bit...

I minded the NYC filler less than some of what we were dealing with in previous weeks like Paula said that 10 prior to Fern's leaving for NYC were PAINFUL!! When he was in NYC at least the story seemed to move forward. Plus it was nice to see NYC again - even if it's old footage! I hope to goodness this new filler coming up isn't horrible.

I love the shot of Fern realizing Carla was kissing him. Classic! I think him hopping up and covering himself up (sort of like Tomas does) was my 2nd fave moment in today's caps.

Re-posted with edits:

Just saw your post Paula in regards to Aldo. Here's what I think Aldo truly believes Fern never loved Lety. He believes this because Fern was never ever able to say the words in his presence (remember Fern didn't SAY he loved LETY when they were fighting. He just said he loved). He also checked with Caro prior to this after his run-ins with Fern prior to the fight and she told him there's absolutely NO WAY that Fern loved Lety. Even Lety has told him she thinks Fern really didn't love her. So unless I missed something (which is quite possible) - I didn't think what he said today was a lie at all. I think it's what he truly still believes.

I think Aldo's impression of Fern is that Fern still cares most of all about the company (a wrong belief, but it's what he believes). For this reasoning he believes Fern needs Lety under his control, hence all of the crazy attempts to keep Aldo and Lety apart (Fern doesn't want another man to come between Lety's saving the company)...so ergo he makes the (incorrect) conclusion that Lety was right and Fern never really loved her. Please let me know if I've missed something - it's possible, but that's what I see/how I interpret things for now.

Oh and I'll try to be patient with this playing hard to get nonsense Fern is trying. I'm sure it will bring lots of great tension to the story, but all of the problems in this TN would be solved if they just communicated properly. Maybe it's not a step back, but it sure seems like one - especially since Lety is eagerly expecting Fern to come back to prove how much he loves her!

Wrong, Georgia Peach, wrong. Aldo knows Fernando loves Lety and Paula is so right when she said that was a dastardly thing for Aldo to do. Lety's greatest fear and pain has been her belief that Fern never loved her even when they made love. He has professed that love to Lety, but she can't believe him because she's a fea. Aldo, the stinky booger, is playing on her insecurities. Shame on him. He deserves to lose in the end.

Is anyone finding there are a few blogs missing? I was specifically trying to find the cap. where Aldo had dinner with his dad...

Thanks Paula - looking forward to it. I'm sure I missed something... maybe it's in that cap. that is missing - that's the only place I can think of where Adlo might have admitted he believes Fern loves Lety.

Okay, GP, I found it. Cap 224. While Fernando begs Lety outside the Ariel Restaurant (Bon Terra), Aldo is talking to his dad. He says, "Fernando fell into his own trap. He ended up falling in love with Leticia."

In the fight with Fernando, Part 1, Lety is there watching. Aldo says to Fern, "The only territory you want to defend is Conceptos. You have no affection." I say Aldo said that for Lety's benefit. Because in Fight Part 2, Cap 223, after Lety leaves, Aldo's story changes. Here's the relevant parts of the transcript.
Aldo: You’re in love with her, right?
Fern: Why do you ask? You just want to use it against me.
Aldo: You are your own worst enemy. Your love is weak. You put your love for yourself first. Your love depends on Lety returning it. .. All this turned into a dishonorable love .. Would you be able to defend your love for her?

Aldo quizzed Caro and Lety, but he also observed Fern with what appeared to be jealousy. So he interviewed Fern for himself, Cap 207. From that summary:
Fern says that love is most important to him too. It wasn’t before, but now it is. The problem is, his love is not being returned. Aldo says he believes him, and now he knows Fern is someone worthy of respect.

Sure, Aldo asked Lety and Caro. But Lety has disbelieved his love for a long time. And Caro really only knows what Lety told her. From talking to Fern, I say Aldo concluded he's in love.

Ok - point proven! Thank you Paula. I'd def forgotten or missed the conversation between Aldo and Fern before. I thought he might have mentioned something in that conversation with his father - I remembered there was the possibility of something there.

Aldo was definitely wrong to play on Lety's insecurities today. Although the point could be made was he was just responding in the heat of the moment. I can see though that he's fighting dirty now for his love with Lety. I wanted to like Aldo... I still don't hate him because I think his character has served as a catalyst for forward movement and growth in both Lety & Fern, but hopefully he'll step aside soon once he realizes that Fern can defend/fight for his love with Lety. I don't hate him, but I sure like him a lot less now.

GP, you're right. The recap for 223/224 was missing from the list. I've fixed it; it's there now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I don't think there has ever been a team Aldo. everyone wants Lety to end up with Fernando. No one is rooting for her to fall into bed with Aldo.

Still the moment he appeared on the scene there was such an intense reaction to him -- and even to his teeth that I have felt compelled to support the poor guy. I still think that he is not a heinous devil. He knows that Fernando thinks that he is in love with Lety but he does not believe that it is deep and real. All he knows of Fernando is what he learned from Lety on the beach and Fernando's behavior since Aldo appeared has been childish and manipulative. He thinks that he is better for her than Fernando.

Even if he begins to do some underhanded things -- which I still declare he has not yet done -- I expect that it will be out of love and not typical TN villainy. Even if he turns out to be a dastardly devil I declare that he has not to date shown any behaviour that merits the odium he has inspired in some viewers for just being.

If I thought that Lety were going to marry Aldo -- or Fernando to marry Marcia or Carla I would be screaming NO-O-O-O, DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR TRUE LO-O-O-VE! But the other person who loves the heroine isn't necessarily evil -- just the wrong one to be at her side in the final episode.

Güera

Well said Guera. That's exactly how I feel about Aldo. I hate to say it but I always have the thought - what Aldo has done is no worse than what anyone else on this show has done up to this point in the show. He's a nice guy and he's been good for most of the characters...no one has been kidnapped, killed, poisoned or maimed yet so I still don't hate the poor guy!

Bien dicho (well said), Güera. I'm glad that you were able to explain your position so well. I can even agree with most of it, with a few notable exceptions! jiji

GP, about hard-to-get. You said it would all be resolved if only people communicated clearly. But consider this. At Santuario, Fern said, "I love you Lety, with all my soul." At Bon Terra, he said, Don’t you understand that no man could ever, ever fall in love with you as much as I have. .. I am in the middle of a very serious problem. I can’t get you out of my heart. I can't forget the incredible times we had together. .. Lety, we can rebuild everything that’s broken. .. Can't you see? Why is it so hard to see that you were born for me? And I for you?"

You can't get much more clear than that. The problem is, every time he's around her, she says, "Go away. Leave me alone. I don't want to see you. I hope I never have to see you again." She's been REALLY harsh to him. If he declares again, he assumes she'll be harsh to him again, and he's probably right. It's time to try something else - Anything! And if that doesn't work, he'll try yet another thing until he finds something that works.

GP, I absolutely agree that Aldo has been an important catalyst. He gave Lety confidence and kept Lety away from Fern until Fern grows up. He lit a fire under Fern, no doubt about it. And he's not a typical wicked telenovela villain. But he is turning into a dirty rotten shnook!

You're right Paula - Fern has been pretty clear with his words to Lety. Now he should communication with is actions to her...I think he's sent some very mixed messages to Lety by staying with Marcia while trying to convince Lety that he still loves her. What self respecting woman would truly believe a word he has to say if they compared his actions to his words? Fern seems like a totally unstable liar during those moments and you're right - although he's clearly 'said' the words to Lety his other forms of communicating aren't so clear.

I hope playing hard to get works for our sakes, but I just have the feeling his actions will be another form of "miscommunication" with Lety. I hope I'm wrong about it...

oy! I'm tired and it shows - I meant communicate with his actions to her not communication...ugh!

Someone on the old board mentioned an interesting point.
Fern has kept Marcia around as a "back-up" in case it doesn't work out with Lety. And Lety is keeping Aldo around for the same reason.
Another indicator of Fern & Lety being the "same" person ie. meant for each other. One silly indicator is Fern & Lety are the only 2 people with black slicked down hair in the entire country of Mexico!
I'm sure there are plenty of other subtle indicators of Fern & Lety as soulmates.....
Diann

I agree with Güera and GPeach in terms of Aldo. I do not see any ulterior motive--I think he truly wants what is best for her, and her company. I don't see him as meddling or weasling his way into Familia padilla at all. He is being supportive and showing her alot about self-respect and standing up for herself.
I think he is very frustrated that she is pining for Fernando, who is living with, and has been living with Marcia. He feels she is being hurt more and more by this. He is in love with her and doesn't want to see her hurting so much. i don't see him as smoozing her and bribing her with scuba-diving, sailing, bike-riding, hot air ballooning, etc. i think he is trying to show her the happy side of life.
I think she will inevitably end up with Fernando--and I actually feel sad for Aldo. He found his wife dead and with her lover--who was his best friend. This has not happenned to either Lety nor Fernando and was just crushing to him.
Just my 2 centavos.

Good point Diann about the slicked back hair...it's true! They are the only characters with it - I hope that part of Lety's makeover is to get rid of her blasted slicked back ponytail.

I agree with you Marie - I honestly think Aldo's comment was just him expressing his frustration that Lety could still love someone who has treated her so badly. I think any of our friends would probably say some of the same things to us - even if they don't truly understand all of the details. He's only going on what he's seen and heard about/from Fern and none of that has been positive has it?

I also don't necessarily think Aldo is playing Lety's parents. One thing I kept thinking during the scenes yesterday is that I can't ever see Fern interacting with the Padilla-Solis family in the same way at least not the way he was before his changes. I think that it's because Aldo had/has close relationship with his parents and he understands how to interact in a loving family dynamic. I think he truly enjoys being around them because he can talk about food, cook with Julieta and feed people who appreciate his food (Tomas and Lety). One of the scenes I thought was actually quite funny yesterday was the moment where he's teaching Lety to cook, he tastes her food, immediately makes a face and turns around so she can't see it. I thought that must be true love on his part for him to try to fake that anything she made was remotely good...

LOL Paula at your hopes of a new life for the redecorated Vortex of Stupidity.

I was sort of distracted when these episodes were aired originally and didn't realize that Alicia had arranged for the redecorating. It was actually not such a bad idea. Of course it wasn't financially feasible, nor was it necessary, and I really liked all the orange; but maybe a change in look can create a change in mood. Conceptos definitely needs a change in mood!

Regarding Aldo's place, without watching the episode, I would guess that either a) he moved when he realized he was going to be in the DF for a long time, or b) we're seeing a different part of the building.

What Aldo knows or thinks he knows about Fernando's feelings for Lety: I think he's narrowing the definition of love for his own convenience, to justify saying that Fernando doesn't love her.

Book-writing - Especially with nonfiction, you pretty much never write the whole thing in chronological order. (Sometimes you aren't even sure of the order in which you'll present the material until it's all written.)

Hate the South Beach decor but why am I surprised since no one in Conceptos, including Luigi has a ounce of taste. On the other hand I could use those pillows since the color would be great in my house. LOL

Aldo the suck up gets on my nerves with his pandering to the parents. interesting that he is still trying to pump Julieta for info about "The Tragedy". He needs to give it a rest. While Fern may act like a physical stalker Aldo is more an emotional one.

Barb, Marianne Seone doesn't always play the same role. Her current role in Mar de Amor is very different even if she does look like she has been dipped in Televis'a tan vat and she was really different in one of my all time favs Amor Gitano. I really like her while in Fea I really don't care too much for her character which is the female version of Aldo. Neither one of them has any boundaries.

Enough all ready with Simon and the slut. Her whining is almost as bad as Lety's.

Aldo's book published in about three weeks - not a chance not even if it had been e-pubbed. It takes months and for a big coffee table book complete with photos no way even if Aldo owned the publishing company. God help us now we have another one of Conceptos time filling Expo's.

The only good thing about the Aca and NYC fillers was it allowed me to to amuse myself saying I was, there, I saw that, I bought records in that store. I guess Televisa switched from product placement to Tourist office. LOL.

I'm still in the anti-Aldo camp. Decie-girl, suck up is a good word. The problem here is that Aldo thinks what he is doing is right. And I'll grant you he has been good for Lety in getting her to come out of her shell and try new things. But emotionally badgering her and telling bald face lies just takes the cake. Even if he was supposed to end up with Lety, I still wouldn't root for him. His character is flawed as is Fernando's. But Fernando is now seeing his faults and trying to correct them; Aldo just keeps on thinking that he and he only is right.

Okay that last comment was me. Sorry for missing the name.

I just saw on the old recaps where there's an observation that Aldo is trying to "mold" Lety.

Thoughts?

Julie -

I see Aldo as someone who is expanding her world, opening her up to more experiences, most of them fun and in some ways designed to lift her mood. The bike riding, the balloon ride, diving - she's never done any of those things before...I wouldn't necessarily call this molding because if he were doing that then I think he'd be focused more on changing the way she thinks or looks. I think the only time he's even remotely hinted at changing the way she thinks is in terms of trying to get her to see him as the love of her life and in the meantime trying to get her to forget Fern. I think Aldo said it before to Caro - that Lety would change only when she was ready to change...
