Univision goes crazy with the schedule AGAIN

I didn't notice until right now, but for the next two weeks, at least here in North Carolina, they are going BACK to TWO-HOUR sessions of Una familia con suerte; El Talisman will have its 9 pm slot and La que no podia amar is showing at 10:00 pm.

WHY WHY WHY?

Sigh sigh sigh.

I'll tell you why why why.

Cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo, that's why.

It's like they WANT people to stop watching. They hooked a bunch of new viewers after CME ended, but now they're gonna drive people away who don't have ten hours per week to devote to one show.

They're acting as though they're desperate to finish Familia as soon as possible. Why don't they just get it over with and run it as a multi-week round-the-clock marathon till it's done? Yeesh.

Which I don't get. I know I just started with UFCS, but I could easily watch it until October. It's delightful.

When they did the rerun of LFMB, they did the ENTIRE thing in two-hour increments. Paula knocked herself out trying to keep up. The discussions were fun, but it would have been a lot more fun to only have to deal with ONE hour a day, so we could have savored and enjoyed it. Instead, it felt like a forced march.

So I really, truly know what it's like to watch a whole TN at 2x speed... It SUCKS. But at least for most of us it was only a rerun. We didn't HAVE to watch every minute of it. For the newbies, though, I don't know how they managed!

I hope this is just for February sweeps. I like my TNs, but four hours a night is a bit much.

It's February sweeps and Telemundo has a new 10PM novela. They did the same thing when Telemundo had La Reina del Sur and La Casa de a Lado. Their 9PM shows were established hits and they want to maintain their ratings supremacy. They aren't losing viewers over this; they're just preventing defection to the competition.

They will probably run UFCS at 2 hours for a couple of weeks, then one of the others, as they did with Teresa and Triunfo del Amor.

We fast-forwarded through all the cuartel scenes, that's how.

But for fans of comedic novelas, UFCS is a very good show. I'm perfectly willing to keep watching it until October. Someone in charge of programming at Looneyvision must have no attention span whatsoever because they do this with a lot of shows; rush to get them over with so they can put the next show on, whether or not the next one is any better.

If they want four hours of novelas every evening, why don't they just add a fourth show? I know Televisa and Venevision and other networks are churning out way more shows than are ever broadcast here.

If they want to keep people from switching over to Telemundo, why don't they just start and end their shows on the half hour instead of top of the hour? Start your biggest hit at 9:30, people are into it and don't tune in to the 10:00 Telemundo offering, except the people who are going to watch the Telemundo show anyway no matter what you do. Problem solved.

UFCS was good tonight. Didn't mind the two hours at all. Of course, I'm not recapping, so I can't talk...Had to shut the tv off soon after Talisman started. Just couldn't take it. Now I'm debating if I should just go to bed now and tape LQNPA (I have an early day tomorrow), or if I torture myself and stay awake to see it. I think I'm going to bed.

I am a newbie to comedic tn's but I am really loving UFCS. I am also watching Dinero at midnight. Love that one too. I know is it really hard for the recappers to sit down and write two hours worth of what happened, and I really appreciate all the time you take to do it. Thank you to all the recappers, Melinama, Cheryl, Ezra, Julia and Julie. After I watch the episodes of Dinero, I always look at the recap you all have done with that. They were great also. Didn't they do alot of two hours with that one too? I just wanted you all to know how much I appreciate what you do.

These schedule changes are incredibly annoying and very inconvenient for everyone, not to mention inconvenient. I'd love to have been in the meeting where they decided to do this. The meetings was no doubt stupider and more moronic than the conferences at Avon.

Oops, so inconvenient I had to say it twice! Hear that Uni?

I, for one, LOVE the 2 hour blocks. Loved LFMB in 2 hour chunks and when Teresa was 2 hours loved that too. Reason being is Univision really chops up the caps. They also rehash every ending cap at the beginning of the next cap. Add to the rehash, the million of commercials (some how we get to suffer through that Concha Nacar crema with each hour of each novela). So with DVR FF, a 1 hour cap is only like 35 minutes(minus the rehash and the crema ads).
So for me 1 hour is just not enough to get my Pancho fix.
2 hours blocks are just right.

I don't think Univision chops things up. I have been doing recordings of my fave novelas for a while now and the recordings are about 48-52 minutes (the skimming through the ads takes time; I assume the show itself is about 45 minutes or so).

I love UFCS, but something has got to give and I can't always sit through 2 hours.

Last night's two hours was pretty good, but I'm sure that is not always the case. I remember sitting through a quite a few TdA stunts when nothing happened. It was grueling.

Diann-ISTA about the Concha Nacar. I hate those ads.

I like to watch a show at 8, take a break from 9-10, and watch another at 10. I switched from Telemundo to Univision to watch El Talisman at 8. Now it's at 9. Plus it's not the greatest show. Back to Telemundo.
