Abismo de pasión #117 8/27/12: Discussion page: Flor is up to something!
Labels: abismo
Yay! Nice to see "Connie" from CME. Sorry Ricky. Daddy Doc won't be interested in her unless she's a needy harpy. That's his type.
I can't believe Alfie has helped Hor stay under cover all these months and he's only now giving her some dirt. At least she's concentrating her vengeful efforts on the people who deserve it for a change. I love seeing how shaken she is by Flor being a mean, cold bitch to her. It's about time she learned what it's like to be on the receiving end.
Context: Dam suggests Flor is upset that Elisa's wedding will steal some of the thunder from their own and Flor answers:
Nada ni nadie va a opacar lo que va a pasar en nuestra fiesta.
(No person or thing is going to overshadow what is going to happen at our party.)
Second favorite word of the day: tramar, to plot, to plan something squirrelly.
Context: Dam asks Flor suspiciously:
Qué estás tramando?
(What are you up to?)
Begona learned Edmundo is getting his groove on.
Gabino learned Ingrid had the same illness Carmina had, that only Doc Tovar can cure with TLC.
Florencia learned Elisa/Gael are getting married the same day she/Dam are and Dam never told her.
Elisa learned you can't just go around touching people's bellies.*
Maru learned to get to steppin'.
Lucio learned Maru ain't about spend the rest of her life suffering for him and that curiously turns him on (Paloma, Florencia...take note)
Alfie learned Paolo is catching regular beatdowns in prison.
Alfie also learned Horacio tried to kill Damian in the horse saddle incident.
*Seriously, why do people think because you're pregnant they can go touching your belly? Did anyone go around touching Elisa's fake boobs?
"Alfie visits Paolo -- satisfyingly bruised and beaten" and "Gael looks like a thundercloud. At least he's still shaving and washing his hair" were a few of my favorites.
Vivi, I don't know what the little minx Flor has planned either, but you can bet it will be an eye opener. As long as it makes Alfie miserable, go for it!
I know Horacio has passed beyond redemption but I'm glad he wants justice rather than vengence.
This sparkled NovelaMaven, gracias!
Diana
WHY do people in telenovelas always act like the antogonistas are such prickly pears when they don't want people touching their tummies? You can't go around groping women just because they are pregnant (or fake pregnant); QTH. Rude, Elisa.
If Gabino wore his jeans even a millimeter lower, the Lunivisión pixilators would have to work overtime.
Also loved your note of Florencia's "amazing reflexes" (she's had practice batting hands away lately) and "Damian moons over Elisa (not THAT way)". You're wonderfully wicked.
And thanks for once again showing us a recap can be brief but informative, and especially...delightful.
Welcome mariaescutia! We love it when new people discover this wonder blog and join in on the comments.
Thanks much Novelamaven!
Paloma only has one voice - pathetic weepy whine. I'm so tired of her pathetic character.
I also loved:
Dig it! Alfie has stashed Horacio in the cemetery as a grave digger. Too funny
"Gael looks like a thundercloud": Perfect. And is it just me or is he starting to look like the actor who starred in "Tarzan: The legend of Greystoke". That pageboy is distracting!
How the hayride (Marta!) does Alpha all of a sudden know Paolo was an accomplice?! The only way that has come to light was behind closed doors (II and Guido), so now Alpha is miraculously enlightened? Has any character even suggested such a possibility to her before?
I know, tighten the beanie....
Thank you, NM! Your trademark wit and style the whole way through!
Katy
Vivi, you're so right about Elisa unbelievable as CEO. If for no other reason than how she dresses for work. I'm embarrassed for her when she walks in in those short dresses and cowboy boots. Not the look of a professional who wants to be taken seriously.
And I forgot to mention earlier, I thought it entirely inappropriate of Padre Loopy or, as Carlos noted, Dear Abby, to tell Gael AND Elisa that Paloma had something to tell them. She had barely talked herself into coming clean with Gael and he thought it was appropriate to tell him in front of Elisa? Not to mention her feelings as the only person in the room who doesn't know Gal-Pal have done the deed. That's cold, Padre!
Katy
The sight of Doc and II makes me more nauseous than I can admit. That poor man must have been starved for "affection" for a long time.
Not sure why all these antics feel more like we should be in the Ultimates already. I agree with MariaE ( by the way---WELCOME!WELCOME!) the idea of "happy ever after" really stretches the beanie on this one. With what we know of these characters--hardly, but for the episodes we watch everyone smiling, we'll buy into.
Alfi is certainly a woman on a mission now. Hiding Horacio. How does someone in a small town stay so undercover for months? No beer or tequila at the bar for you dude!!!
Belated thanks to Cynderella for your raucous recap for Friday... sorry that I was unable to make time to add my comments.
I really was impressed by Florencia's sly serenity. She clearly has a corker of a plan although I have absolutely no idea what it is. However, I do not think that it will require a substitute fetus.
Still room at the Alfonsina table. Plenty of Bitter Widow Cocktails for everyone. I think after her meeting with Horacio she will become the straw that stirs... at least until the wedding day.
Carlos
My, my, little Elisa sure has come a long way in a short time. Her own private office and Damian visiting her like a loyal subject.
Gosh, hate to get to serious about a NOVELA, but what kind of lesson is AdeP teaching young women? Won't Gael HAVE to marry Paloma? Will he leave her an unwed mom? This outcome is a sticky wicket either way! Didn't we hear Pal say something like, "What did I do to deserve this?" Duh! You stalked, teased and trapped the guy! (I know.....he's a jerk too!) Is Paloma one of the good characters?
NM....loved Black Widow AlfaBitch and Orange Widow OmegaBitch!
Also getting excited for tonight's episode when Alfonsina will confront Carmina about the house where Rosendo met his amante. Definitely want to hear what she pulls out of her a$$ this time! I'm ready for some one to air out all her dirty laundry and see her in jail and beat up like her dear friend, Paulo.
I see death by Gabino in Ingrid's future. Her days are numbered. Gab will go by the house and see her and the doc together. You just know that Begonia will tell her BFF what she saw. And BFF tells Gabino.
I love the partnership of Horacio and Alfie. I can't wait to see what they will cook up.
Gael has a thundercloud indeed, and it is more active at each episode... maybe the storm will turn into a tornado on wedding day.
Padre Papa Loopy has definitely earned a honorary lifetime membership to the 'wedding crashers' club... maybe the only priest member at that exclusive group... he has done every thing in his power nine ways to sunday to crash / cancel those weddings, but they keep on comin'!
however, now it is pretty obvious Flo has some kind of plan cooking up.
And Horacio hiding until just the right time... this novela had turned into a hot mess the last few weeks, but now with the weddings coming close and Horacio waiting at the sidelines it is definitely picking up excitement,
although pretty much everything related to the Castanon procesadora is indeed a WTH factor.
Sandy, I think Sara lives in UA (Upper Alabama.) But it's probably not too pleasant there right now, either.
