Dam!  You got knocked the Hell Out!  (From the Movie Friday)
Castanon Home Office Damien tells Elisa that some chick tried to kill his mommy last night.  Damien informs Elisa that Alfonsina has pointed her bony, bejeweled, forefinger with an impeccably polished red nail at her.   Elisa freaks out and screams that Alfonsina is one sick puppy dog.  Elisa freely acknowledges that, at times, she has wanted to choke the hell out of Alfonsina and feel her soul slowly leaving her body.  However, Elisa did not make the attempt on Alfonsina’s life, this time.  Damien wants to know where Elisa was last night.  Elisa asks how many times Damien will believe his mother’s lies about her.   Damien tells Elisa that he does believe in her; he just needs to know where she was so that he can prove his mother wrong.  Elisa tells Damien to get the hell out and go back to his fake pregnant wife and his deranged mommy.
Casa de Arango Alfonsina’s Bedroom Alfonsina wants to chat with Florencia about the trip to Mexico City.  Did she go to the OBGYN?  Where’s the ultrasound?  Damien has the ultrasound.  Florencia informs Alfonsina that she and Damien got married by the Justice of the Peace.    Alfonsina is surprised that Damien doesn’t want a church wedding.  Florencia laments that Damien doesn’t want to acknowledge or celebrate the wedding (no party, no church ceremony, no nasty nookie, no nothing).  He gave her his name.  What more does she want?  Alfonsina tells Florencia not to worry; she will get a white wedding.  There is no way her fake grandchild will be born in a marriage not blessed by God.  BEGIN TMI ALERT!!!!!  Florencia tells her mother-in-law that she didn’t get to ride the stallion on the wedding night!  The saddle wasn’t ready, so she couldn’t jump on it! END OF TMI ALERT!!!! Alfonsina apologizes for breaking up the happy honeymoon, but since someone tried to kill her, she figured she’d better call her son.  Florencia wants to know if it’s true that Elisa tried to kill Alfonsina.  Do you think I would lie about something like this?  Florencia tells Alfonsina that Damien doesn’t believe it.  Florencia tells Alfonsina that she went to see Elisa and informed her that she and Damien were married.  Alfonsina says that she did well.  Florencia doesn’t think so.  Florencia asks if it’s true that Damien and Elisa are not siblings.
Casa de Tovar Living Room Mrs. Kravitz (Begona) conducts one last physical inspection of her kids and the living room prior to the intimate dinner party.   She hopes that her husband will show up and act polite.  In a creepy display of highly unusual sibling affection, Enrique draws Sabrina close, caresses her back and plays with her long chestnut hair.  He stares adoringly into his Sabrina’s alluring brown eyes.  Finally, the Landucci brothers have arrived bearing gifts.  Along with a kiss, Guido gives Mrs. Kravitz an enormous bouquet of flowers.  Paolo hands Enrique a bottle of champagne and instructs him to open it.  Enrique grimaces and refrains from bashing his potential brother-in-law in the head with it.  The gracious hostess passes the bouquet to Enrique and tells him to put it in water.  She offers warm home-made pastries to the brothers.
Witch Mountain Ramona is sitting at the table grinding black mamba tongues in a bowl.  Paloma enters the kitchen munching on a yellow apple; she sits at the table.  Ramona asks Paloma if she is still mad.  Ramona forgot to tell Paloma that Enrique had invited them to the dinner party.  Paloma says that she doesn’t want to go.  Ramona adds a little dash of bat wing dust to the concoction.  Paloma explains that Enrique is very worried about his incredibly dumb innocent sister because she wants to marry SSSsssPaolo, the Rapist.  Ramona sprinkles in some dragon toe fungus.  I would hate to be on the other end of that spell.  Ramona tells Paloma that she will go with her if she changes her mind about attending the dinner party.  Ramona would love to go since Mrs. Kravitz insulted her grand-daughter.
Casa de Arango Alfonsina’s Bedroom I’m not a fool, Florencia tearfully declares to Alfonsina.  She knows perfectly well that Damien only married her because she’s fake knocked up with his son.  She thinks that she’s going to lose him.  I trapped him fair and square, yet I don’t feel secure with him! Alfonsina assures her new daughter-in-law that Damien and his father are completely different.  Dam Loyal would never abandon his kid.  Florencia points out that Alfonsina had a real kid, but Rosendo still dumped her and the kid.  This is not the way to endear yourself to your mother-in-law.  Alfonsina reiterates that Dam and Rosendo are different.  Unlike his father, Dam believes everything and is easily manipulated.  Florencia points out that Elisa and her mother are the same.  She tells Alfonsina that Elisa bragged that the Bouvier women are famous for stealing husbands.  Elisa guaranteed Florencia that she would take her man, like her mother took Rosendo.  My fake pregnancy will not stop her, says Florencia.  Alfonsina asks if Elisa really used those exact words.  Florencia swears on the life of her fake baby and encourages her mother-in-law to throw the book at Elisa.  If Elisa could hurt Alfonsina, then she is also capable of hurting the phantom baby.  Once she loses the fake baby, Damien will leave her for Elisa in a Mexico City minute.
Jail Braulio brings Horacio a change of clothing from Dolores.  What a surprise, it includes an ugly plaid shirt.  Horacio tells Braulio that Dolores is the only woman that he’s ever loved in his dirty life. Losing Lolita is worse than any jail sentence.  He’s happy that Braulio came because he’s the only one that Horacio can trust with Lolita.  He knows that Braulio openly covets his wife.  Braulio wants to know what he’s talking about.  He tells that he’s done worse that what he’s being accused of.  Horacio says that once he’s free, he will not reach out to Dolores because he’s trash and he can’t look her in the eye.  He explains that he’s there because Gabby forced him to do something terrible.   Braulio suspects that Horacio was involved in Blanca’s (Don Lucio’s wife) death.  Commercial.
Jail Again Braulio encourages Horacio to confess, so that he will get the death penalty and Braulio can finally boink Dolores with a clear conscience.  Horacio says that he’s not a coward; he doesn’t care about himself.  He tells Braulio that he’s afraid that Gabby will hurt Dolores.  He begs is love rival to protect her from Gabby and Car-Azy.    Horacio explains Gabby and Car-Azy are secretly in cahoots.  Braulio is the only one that he trusts with Dolores.  He needs Braulio to protect her from Gabby.  He knows that Braulio loves Dolores just as much as he does.  Braulio readily agrees to boink protect her.  Horacio asks him not to tell anyone (not even his shadow) what they have discussed.
Casa de Tovar Again Paolo and Sabrina canoodle on the couch.  Mrs. Kravitz interrupts the lovers by offering Paolo and Guido another pastry.  When Sabrina reaches for a scone, Mrs. Kravitz slaps her daughter’s hand away.  A girl’s got to watch her figure if she wants to keep a rapist interested.  Mrs. Kravitz presses Guido for gossip about his relationship with Alfonsina.  Guido tells her that there’s been a little tension between the two of them ever since Alfonsina threw him in the dungeon to rot.  Mrs. Kravitz is not surprised to hear that they are not getting along, but she doesn’t like to talk bad about others.  Disgusted with this conversation, a scowling Enrique stands behind his mother’s chair.  There’s another knock at the door.  Mrs. Kravitz tells her son to answer it.  It’s Dr. Tovar.  Everyone stands up.  Both Mrs. Kravitz and I want to know why her husband didn’t use his key.  He says he doesn’t live there; he prefers to knock on the door.  Nervously, Mrs. Kravitz laughs it off and acts as if he simply told a joke.  Mrs. Kravitz hurries off to get champagne for a toast.  Dr. Tovar tells everyone to sit back down and takes the seat that Mrs. Kravitz had previously occupied.  There is another knock at the door.  Enrique rushes to answer it and invites Ramona and Paloma into the house.   When she returns with the drink tray, Mrs. Kravitz demands to know why they have come.  Enrique says that they are his guests.
Gael’s Bedroom Gael is sitting on his bed studying the petition.  With a whistle, Padre alerts Gael that he’s about to enter the room.  Gael quickly shoves the binder under his pillow and nonchalantly lies back on the bed.  Padre, sporting some hot Malcom X style glasses, has come to tuck this grown man in.  Hmmmm.  Padre sits down at the foot of Gael’s bed and says that once he leaves, there will be no one to give him the blessing.  Gael tells Padre to stop talking like that; he has always taught Gael to believe in miracles.  Padre tells him that miracles are for important things.  Gael tells Padre that he is important to everyone in La Ermita and mostly to him.  Padre tells Gael, that he is also important to him.  He calls Gael his son.  Padre Lupe gets up to leave and Gael tells him to leave the door open.  Gael recalls a conversation that he and Paloma had as children.  Paloma said that she, like Gael, she doesn’t know her father.  She’s knows that she was her mother’s only child, but Ramona is mum on her father’s identification.  Gael thinks that she is better off than he is.  At least Paloma knows her mother’s name.  Paloma says that he used to believe that Padre Lupe was Gael’s father.  They laugh.  Padre Lupe comes out of the church and yells at young Gael about doing his homework.
Case de Tovar Again Dr. Tovar invites everyone to sit down.    Ramona prefers to stand.  She walks into the dining area and removes the first glass of bubbly from Mrs. Kravitz’s tray.  Annoyed, Mrs. Kravitz comments about the beauty of the flowers; they were arranged in Merida for this occasion.  Ramona makes some bad mojo comments about the color of the flowers.  She says they bring bad luck to a marriage ceremony.  Paloma keeps a constipated-like smile on her face as the party becomes increasingly uncomfortable.  Mrs. Kravitz changes the subject and talks about her daughter’s dress that was also purchased in Meridia.  That color brings sadness and bitterness, says Ramona.  Once again, Mrs. Kravitz, tries to change the subject by suggesting a toast before they sit at the table.  The quail should be ready.  Cantankerous Ramona says dead poultry are carriers of pain.  Mrs. Kravitz grabs Guido hand and yanks him into the dining room before Ramona can say anything else.  She has chosen special seats for everyone.  Guido and Dr. Tovar are placed at opposite ends of the cherry-wood table.  Guido thanks Mrs. Kravitz for her hospitality and, on behalf of his brother, asks for Sabrina’s hand in marriage.  Dr. Tovar thanks Guido for his kind words, but tells him that there is no way in hell that he will allow his baby girl to marry a registered sex offender.  After telling her father that she hates him, pregnant Sabrina puts down her champagne and dashes up the stairs.  Mrs. Kravitz starts to follow her daughter, but returns to her guests instead.  Guido thanks the Tovars for their hospitality and then he and smirking SSSsssssPaolo excuse themselves.    Paloma also bids the Tovars goodnight, but Ramona refuses to leave.  Since the quail suffered for their meal, Ramona might as well eat one.  She takes a seat at the table, stuffs a napkin into her collar and waits for the meal to be served.  Dr. Tovar tells everyone else to sit down.  Enrique pulls out a chair for Paloma.  Dr. Tovar tells his stunned wife to serve the dinner.
Rectory Living Room Padre is looking for a verse in an upside down Bible.  Gael comes out of his bedroom and tells Padre that as a child, Paloma believed that Padre sired Gael.  Padre belly laughs and assures Gael that he is not his biological father.  Gael He tells Padre that he was the best father in the world.  He didn’t want to go to sleep without telling him that.  Padre gets all misty and Gael gives him a hug.  Goodnight papa Padre, says Gael.
Casa de Castanon Elisa Bedroom Dolores asks Elisa whether Damien has left.  Alone, down on her knees and sobbing dramatically by candle light, Elisa tells Dolores that Damien stopped by to ask her if she tried to kill his mother.  What!  Dolores agrees that if Elisa had tried to kill Alfonsina, she would have succeeded.  Elisa says that Damien will believe whatever poison his mother makes up about her.  Boiling, Dolores says that Damien is also to blame.  He’s old enough to stand on his on his own two feet.  He doesn’t have to believe the lies that his mother makes up.  Elisa says that Damien doesn’t deserve her love.  Dolores tells her not to cry; he also doesn’t deserve her tears.  Unfortunately, Elisa doesn’t listen and only sobs louder.
Hospital Lobby Tonia tells Braulio that Vincente is sleeping.  He tells her to go home and rest. Tonia wants to know if Braulio is hungry; she offers to go home and bring him some food back.  Braulio says that he’s not hungry and mentions that he’s got other problems.  She wants to know if she can help.  Braulio Kravitz slips up and says that it has something to do with what Horacio shared with him.  Tonia asks him about the jail visit.  Braulio bids his wife goodnight and settles down to watch over Vincente.  As Vicente sleeps, Braulio remembers his earlier conversation with Horacio.  He then remembers lying to Vincente about Gabby coming to visit him.  On another occasion, Vincente told Braulio that he doesn’t love him; he desperately wants Gabby to come see him.  Braulio’s torn.  Should he kill the thug for threatening Dolores or should he kill the thug for hurting Vincente?  What to do?  What to do?  He flips a coin.
Procesadora Damien’s Office Gael visits Damien.  Damien graciously offers his friend some refreshments.  Gael is there to get signatures for the petition.  Gael explains that Padre Lupe could be transferred and they need the signatures to present to the Bishop.  If they don’t get enough signatures, Damien’s wedding to Florencia will probably be the last one that Padre Lupe performs in La Ermita.  Damien tells Gael, that he will not have a church wedding because he and Florencia got married while they were in Mexico City.  Florencia is fake knocked up and he wanted to give the non-existent baby his name.  Gael quickly congratulates Dam It Will Somebody Kill Me Now on his new marriage and his fake son.  Damien thanks him weakly; he can’t even whip up a smile.  There’s a commotion on the other side of the door.  It’s Maru trying to block Dolores from entering Dam It Just Shoot Me’s office.  Dolores kicks the door open.  Damien tells Maru to back off; it’s OK.  Damien reluctantly approaches Dolores and asks how he can…Dam it!  Dolores Ali-Tyson slapped the plaque off of his pearly whites in mid-sentence!  Dam Fine takes that hit like champ and does not retaliate.   He humbles himself and listens to Dolores ranting.  Do you remember when I told you that Elisa was all that I have and I would defend her with my teeth?  Yeah, I remember it well.  Well, that was just a sample!
Casa de Arango Office Tonia nervously tells Alfonsia that she has some visitors waiting in the office.  Alfonsina demands to know what Elisa and Lucio are doing there and promptly tells them to get the hell out.  Lucio explains that he wanted to come alone to settle this, but Elisa insisted on coming.  Elisa says that she’s come to pay all that she owes.  She doesn’t appreciate Alfonsina telling everyone that she tried to kill her (although she stressed that she would love to).  Elisa presents Alfonsina with a check that covers the loan plus any interest.  Commercial.
Casa de Arango Home Office Alfonsina wants to know where Elisa got the money.  None of your business.  Elisa wants the trust deed and title.   Alfonsina dramatically tears up the check; she’s already started to foreclose on Elisa’s property.
Procesadora Damien’s Office Dolores Frazier is still cussing at Damien.  She tells Damien that she’s glad that Elisa has cursed him to hell because he’s obviously not the man for her.  She says that he’s just like his mother.  Gael looks on with curiosity.  My girl needs love, support and understanding, says Dolores.  Damien will never be capable of giving her that.  Damien’s silently cries.  She must have cracked him hard.  She tells him to stay with his mommy and his wife and leave Elisa alone.  She walks out.  Gael wants Damien to explain what happened with Elisa.
Casa de Arango Home Office Alfonsina still will not accept that check. Elisa accuses her of not playing fair. Alfonsina says that Elisa threatened and tormented a girl who is pretending to be pregnant!   Don Lucio says that has nothing to do with this.  Alfonsina tells Don Lucio that this conversation doesn’t concern him.  This is between her and Elisa.  Don Lucio doesn’t understand why Alfonsina won’t accept payment in full and return Elisa’s property to her.  Alfonsina says that it’s too late and tells them to get out.  Elisa tells Don Lucio that they are wasting their breath.  Elisa knows that Alfonsina knows that she is lying about Elisa attacking her last night.  She’s goes on to say that Alfonsina should be happy that Damien believes all of her lies.  Alfonsina has finally poisoned him against Elisa.  She’s succeeded in destroying her.  Alfonsina blames Estefania for them hating each other.  Elisa tells her not to mention her mother’s name with her filthy mouth.  Alfonsina says that Elisa has Estefania to thank for her miserable life.  Elisa tells Don Lucio to get her out of there before she really does kill Alfonsina.
Procesadora Loading Docks Gabby blocks Dolores as she leaves the plant.  She tries to walk around him, but he grabs her arm and pulls her back.  He’s very sorry that he snitched and Horacio got locked up.  That’s none of your business, says Dolores.  Gabby asks Dolores why she’s so irritable.  Is it that time of the month?  He tells her that she should be grateful to God for putting that scorpion in jail.  Dolores says that Horacio is less venomous that Gabby.   Gabby says that he may not be a choirboy, but at least he’s never taken a life.   Gabby reaches out to touch her.  She tells him to get his hands off of her.  Unfortunately, Gabby, doesn’t notice her bodyguard, Big B charging up to them.  Braulio does not look like he is in the mood to play with Gabino.  He tells Gabby, not to touch her.  After seeing the look in Braulio’s eyes, Gabby does his signature spin, and makes a hasty exit.  Braulio asks why she is there.  She says that she came to slap the taste out of Dam Fine’s mouth, but she ran in to Gabby.  She wants to know why he came.  Braulio says that he came to check on his severance package.  He’s happy that he came because he stopped Gabby from bothering her.  She tells him that Gabby told her something that makes her nervous.  She wants to know if Braulio believes that Horacio is capable of murder.  I don’t know, says Braulio.  She shakes it off and says that she’s being silly for listening to Gabby.  She asks if Braulio went to see Horacio and what did they talk about.  Yeah, says Braulio.  Tomorrow, they will transfer Horacio to prison where he will complete his sentence.
Procesadora Damien’s Office Damien doesn’t believe that his mother would deliberately lie to him.  Damien explains that his mother was attacked last night.  It was dark, she was scared, and she remembered that Elisa cussed her out on the church steps.  My mom thinks Elisa tried to kill her.  The person that you doubt is Elisa!  Damien says that he knows that Elisa is incapable of murder.  Gael sucker punches Damien and calls him an idiot!  Again, Dam Dizzy, takes his punch like a man.  He knows that he deserves it; and waits for the stars to disappear.  Gael leaves Damien and takes his petition with him.  Bleeding from the mouth, Damien locks the door.  He can’t afford to get that pretty face punched again; it’s his money maker.  I’m so stupid, he says to himself.
Procesadora Reception Desk Braulio is talking to Maru.  Maru encourages Braulio to talk to Damien about getting his job back.  Gael overhears the conversation and tells Braulio to come talk to him at the Cielo Abierto.  Gabby saunters into the lobby.  He wants to know why Maru is crying over Braulio.  He tells her not to act so pathetic.  Damien emerges from the office wearing a hockey mask, some shin guards and a cup.    Braulio tells him that he doesn’t want to work next to Gabby.  Damien tells Braulio that he can’t afford to lose him.  He will fire Gabby if he agrees to stay.  Gabby is shocked!

Hello, I won't have internet access for the rest of the day. I won't be able to respond to your comments until tomorrow.

Thanks for the great recap. What a fun episode to recap. So many good parts.

The best were the dinner party with Ramona and Paloma, the slap on Damian, and the near confession to Braulio. Now Braulio will be able to carry Lolita's milk. Yeah!

Hilarious recap Cynderella.

Wasn't that dinner party a hoot?! I laughed out loud a few times. Pal, Quique and even Doc Tovar looked like they were having a hard time not busting out in laughter each time Ramona said one of her predictions of doom. LOL! Best dinner party ever.

I actually don't think Dam deserved all these smacks. He didn't accuse Elisa. He came to warn her and get her alibi so that he could throw it in his mama's face and prove her wrong. Maybe he could have gone about it another way. Maybe he shouldn't have asked her to tell him where she was. But she flew off the handle and assumed he believed his mother even before he asked her that.

Cynderella - thank you for the recap. I might have to watch my recording of this episode after I get home tomorrow. Smackdowns, showdowns, and lowblows, oh my!

The family Tovar dinner sounds like something from The Real Housewives of La Ermita with Ramona as their prophet of doom re: all the Feng Sh!t elements that are showing the bad energy surrounding Paolo and Sabrina's wedding.

Doris.

I'm waiting for the police to show up and arrest Elisa for attempted murder of Alfonsina. She can be in the cell next to Horatio.

Another gem Cynderella. And Vivi, I agree with you about Damian. And I was horrified that Lolita hauled off and slapped him and Gael punched him in the jaw. I expect behavior like that out of the baddies, but in the good folks, gee whiz Use Your Words!

Speaking of words....Cynderella your imaginative picturing of Ramona "grinding black mamba tongues in a bowl, adding bat wing dust and dragon toe fungus"...well, what can I say? You'd hate to be on the other end of that spell!!! Well, I'd hate to be on YOUR bad side, amiga. Lord! what a mind.

Also enjoyed Dam it Will Somebody Kill Me Now, and Dam It Just Shoot Me.

Alas, I can see from your wry rendition that you were not puddling up at the Gael/Padre scene like I was. All misty-eyed was I, and when the minor cello notes begin to play beneath the violins, wah, it was just so sweet. Seriously. Very moved.

And in line with my ridiculously soft-hearted view of things, I thought the engagement dinner humiliation of ditzy ,snobby, empty-headed Begoñia was just a bit harsh. She's a bubble-headed bitch but when I think of the hours she spent whipping up those hors d-oeuvres, dinner and dessert, setting the table, wanting to get things just right for her stupid daughter, yessss, call me a wimpy kid, but I felt sorry for her. A funny funny scene, but still, I was wincing.

One final note: is the actor playing Enrique dating the actress playing Sabrina. Those two do seem to have a hard time keeping their hands off each other.

I thought Damian did deserve the slap and punch. If he had to ask Elisa where she was for her alibi, then he isn't trusting her that she would never do such a thing. If he did trust her completely, he never would have even brought it up. It wouldn't have been necessary. Gael never would have asked because he knows it would be impossible for her to do it. He would assume that Alfonsina was mistaken.

As always, just wonderful Cynderella. For once, it wasn't Gab being pummeled. That had to make you feel so much better.

This has to be the first episode in several days ( weeks?) that I just REALLY enjoyed.

My personal favorite was the sweet interaction between Padre and Gael, from when Padre first walked in to when Gael finally touched him on the shoulder and walked out. Thank goodness I had a box of kleenex nearby. Those two actors just know how to express the relationship so beautifully between these two. The acting was subtle, understated and very moving. Loved the Papa Padre, I was a mess over that one.

The dinner party was an absolute riot. Ramona self-inviting herself, and then proceeding to do her best to be a debbie-downer...too funny. Loved the shot of Gweedddooo nodding in agreement. And then Doc - oh, he is just the best! Hope the quail were tasty.

As for Dam taking the role of Gab for the evening, I admit that he really didn't accuse Elisa of anything. I think everyone is just going off the deep end with him because he is so Stoooppiddd. Just kidding, but more really that he has broken Elisa's heart, and then manages to keep bugging her. Plus he does rather seem to be under mumsy's thumb again to most of them. (I'm also thinking maybe that slap from Delores might have a little reserved anger for Rosendo and what he did to her Steff.)

What kind of agreements do these people sign? There's seems to be a sorry lack of a decent lawyer in this town. How can Alfi foreclose on the land so quickly? There's supposed to be a time frame noted. Beanie is really suffering with the legal and medical stuff on this TN.

Well we knew that Elisa and Gael would hook up at some point, so looks like we get that next week. I have really mixed emotions on this. They really do "work" together so much better than she and Stoopid ( and Bowyer and Tacher have better chemistry, just like the actors for Pal and QuiQui), but we know how this TN will probably end and I am going to hate to see my guy getting hurt. Think I lay in extra kleenex boxes.

Thanks for this recap Cynderella and sorry you won't be able to read our comments until tomorrow. Loved your title and the alternates too.

That was the best dinner party ever. It had theatricals, awkward moments (that seemed to last forever), and people on the verge of busting a gut. If I could capture screen shots, I would have gotten the one right after Begonia asks why Ramona & Paloma are in her house and QuiQui says I invited them. The shot of him, his guests, and his Dad smirking at his mom was priceless!

Why does Tonia not understand that getting jealous of Braulio's interest in Lolita will not win him back?

Yes Judy the whole episode would have been better, especially for Dam, if people had used their words. He knows his mother is lying but frames the question to Elise and others in such a way, it seems he believes his mom. He needed to say I know you didn't do this but if my mother presses charges to you have an alibi? If not, we need to get witness so she can't send you to jail. Of course this is all way too reasonable and can't happen b/c the lead couple has to stay apart for at least four or five more weeks.

And Fina and Flo play Dam so badly, its a good thing he's a galan b/c otherwise he might pull an Augusto and slap the mess out of the two of them when he realizes the full extend of their treachery. I must admit I want to see Flo and Fina fight/chat/whatever the writers have planned if its good when the fake baby plot comes to light.

The smile on SssPaolo face after Doc says now way Sabrina is going to marry you means the run away & steal the baby is still on. Boo, hiss.

Cynderella, fantastic again!  You just have the best way of describing things, a few of my favorites:

"Braulio brings Horacio a change of clothing from Dolores.  What a surprise, it includes an ugly plaid shirt,"  "Dam It Will Somebody Kill Me,"  "Dam It Just Shoot Me’s office,"  "Dolores Ali-Tyson slapped the plaque off of his pearly whites in mid-sentence"  I don't know how you manage to make such dull episodes funny, but you do it every time, thanks!

JudyB, "And in line with my ridiculously soft-hearted view of things, I thought the engagement dinner humiliation of ditzy ,snobby, empty-headed Begoñia was just a bit harsh." I agree!  Dr. T has had an emotional affair with Ingrid and a real affair with Carmina and he walks into his daughter's pedida, on a very high horse, announcing that he  no longer lives at home, Give Me A Break! Begoñia's sins are minor compared to his!!

Daisy  [Damian] "does rather seem to be under mumsy's thumb again" Yes! There needs to be a limit on how many times a galan can say "Mi Madre!"  in one episode, and whatever the number might be,  he's crossed it.  Goodness gracious, no amount of money or prestige would be worth an entanglement in the Arango quagmire!

Why does Dam Stoopid keep forgetting that his mother lies to him ALL THE TIME!!! Oh, right, self-evident!

Fabulous recap, Cynderella, thanks so much! I especially enjoyed all the little things that didn't actually happen in the episode.

Cynderella! another masterpiece!
I can't believe i got so involved with the olympics coverage that if it was not for my daughter, i would have missed th whole thing. she reminded me just in time for me to watch the 2nd half of the Padre/Gael scene, the Padre lifting his feet and the final hug, and also the slap/punch fest.

Although I agree with Judy on preferring words to violence, 'Dam It Will Somebody Kill Me Now' deserved every little bit of both of those...

Loved your references all around, esp the plaid shirt, the Tyson/Ali comparison of Lolita and your extra little details here and there.
Thanks for the hilarious recap of the dinner party. i totally missed that so will have to see if i find it on univision or youtube... after taking care of my mom's breakfast.

Daisynjay, at this point I coudl not agree with you more on the we wish for Quique/Paloma and Gael/Elisa pairings having much better chemistry than the pairings we are sure we will get in the end... about time a novela deviated from the predictable pairings in the end, right?

thanks again cynd! you rock!

Carlos, did you see that Marlene Esparza got a bye in the round of 16? she is going straight to the QF tomorrow!

Thanks, Cynderella, for another fun breakfast! You were particularly entertaining on the subject of the Alfie-Flo-Dam obsessive lurve triangle:

- Florencia tells her mother-in-law that she didn’t get to ride the stallion on the wedding night!

- “I trapped him fair and square, yet I don’t feel secure with him!”

- Alfonsina says that Elisa threatened and tormented a girl who is pretending to be pregnant!

But the line that really got me was this one:

- Damien emerges from the office wearing a hockey mask, some shin guards and a cup.

I can totally picture it. :)

Oh, and I finally figured out that in Elisa's idiolect, "I love you more than my life" means "I love throwing you out of my house." It makes so much more sense now.

Great recap, Cynderella.

This TN is such a mess, but I keep watching it! lol

I agree with you, Damian and Elisa have no chemistry. They're boring.

Also, I think Zepeda is a really bad actor. He's so wooden and robotic. I like him better in LFDD, at least he had chemistry with Sandra.

Rosita.

OK...Certain things in this telenovela are becoming a bit tedious. How is it possible that Elisa and Dam, who both profess to love each other with all their souls, so easily doubt each other and lose their trust when the road gets a little bumpy. They seem to forget all the times when the claims leveled at one of them has been proven false, and yet they are so quick to believe they have been betrayed. Break up, reconcile, break up again, reconcile yet another time. When will they learn. And Damn, when will you realize, that you cannot believe a word your mother says. The same thing is happening between Gael and Damn. How can best friends be so disloyal to each other. It is too unbelievable!

Steve

Cynderalla: You added another couple of dimensions to this chapter.

One time I did think Damian and Elisa had momentary chemistry was when he went into Augusto's office to discuss the attack on his mother with Elisa. She escorted him to the door to leave, he grabbed the door, looked at her and slammed the door shut. She, however, escaped behind Daddy's desk. It was a good, but brief, moment.

I loved Ramona as the voice of doom. That was a classic dinner. Begoñia had to eat crow, oh, I mean quail.

Paolo looked delighted as he left. Maybe he has found a way to get himself off the hook - unless he plans to steal his own baby and have Flo pass it off as hers.

Pasofino- Yes. That is the plan exactly. He doesn't want to marry Sabrina. He wants her to feel that there is no other choice but to run away with him so that he can steal her/their baby for Flor.

Vivi: What a cad! His anvil should be castration.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I thought that the dinner party was funny. I think Florencia is evil in every way.

Don't everyone cuss me out at once, but I like Damien and Elisa much better than I like Elisa and Gael. I think that Dam gets into trouble with Florencia because he's just silly. I almost feel sorry for him when he looks so hurt when she rejects him or when Dolores told him that Elisa dammned him to hell. Gael on the other hand annoys me. Elisa and Paloma are best friends. He has no problem literally rolling around in the grass with Paloma on Monday and then going after her best friend on Tuesday. He also KNOWS that his best friend is in love with Elisa. He wiped his butt with Paloma and basically flushed her down the toilet. That's why I don't like him. Yes, she threw herself at him, but if he's so in "lurrvvv" (I don't know who started that, but it's funny) with Elisa, he wouldn't sleep with her friend.

I like Paolo because he is soooo despicable.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comments. Like I said, Dam and Elisa are just dumb. Gael covets Elisa. Like Vivi, I don't think Dam did anything to deserve being slapped and hit. I think if my mother told me that someone I know broke into her house and tried to kill her, I'd at least try to investigate it a little bit. I know Alfonsina is a liar, but Elisa did act like a fool at the mass. Alfonsina does deliberately mess with Elisa and get her riled up. So, yeah, I would at least ask a question or two (even if I did doubt it).

As much as I agree that Dam did not ask Elisa the question directly as 'did you go attack my mother?', Elisa is not just 'someone he knows'. Elisa is the one woman he loves and HE KNOWS that his mother would rather dig herself a hole in the ground and burry herself in it than let Dam and Elisa get together, let alone marry...
Remember that Alfonsina is totally sold on the idea of Dam and Flo having her grandchild. So she would do ANYTHING to keep Elisa out of the picture so she does not spoil the plans.
And Dam knows all this. Elisa is not just someone he knows, Elisa is the most obvious target for her mother to put the blame on, and Dam has heard from several folks that it was really dark and his mother was waltzing around the dark house... not that there is no possible way for his mother to recognize her attacker, but he should know his mother's tactics and he should know that his mother would not lose a chance like this to turn the whole thing on her no. 1 enemy, Elisa.
Yes, Elisa acted stoopid at the church, and Alfie is his mother and was attacked... and he did tell his mother he doubted her word... but went straight to ask Elisa...
SO he was wrong in asking Elisa, even indirectly... but did he deserve the slap and punch? maybe not. but like some have said, this might be a cumulative frustration on Dam's behavior for not only that but all along. Stoopid for letting Flo and her family stay, stoopid for getting drunk and boinking her, double-shot stoopid for marrying her. SO the questioning of Elisa just overflowed the cup for many.

On the night of the attack on Alfie, Gabino ripped wires out of the electrical box, Paolo and Toña are witnesses to the damage. Before Damian went over to Elusa's house, he should have strongly challenged his mother's account.  What young woman of 22-24 years knows anything about electrical panels? That is a big hole in her story.  Damian has a responsibility to protect the community from his mother, he knows more than anyone what she is capable of. Alfie's story can be muddled with logic, can small Elisa hold Alfie down and menace her with a gun? Ditto on what Marta just said about the darkness tol! He needs to be proactive with stopping his poisonous mother before she does more damage. STOP YOUR MADRE!  Damian!

Elisa had every right to confront Alfie at  the funeral. Alfie was the one who destroyed Auguso's business, along with the reputation of both his wife and daughter. After that, Augusto went into a depressive downward spiral that he couldn't kick until it was too late. Alfie  has been in lockstep with Carmina all the way until the shooting in the complete destruction of a family. Alfie didn't come to the funeral in kindness, she came to provoke. I'm glad someone had the guts to say something to our very black, black- hearted widow.  You come to the funeral of a man whose life you wrongly DESTROYED to upset the family? It's like Alfonsina is riding around La Ermita on a destructive bulldozer and no one can stop her. Thanks  for trying Elisa!

Marta, are you thinking our boxer Marlen has her match this AM at 7:45 Central on CNBC? It is so hard to figure out the times and channels of the events!

Well, Alfie said that there was a man AND a woman. I'm sure she wouldn't mind implicating Gael.

I know she told Paulo and Toña she thought there were two, but I checked the recap and she told Damian that she thought that Elisa did it, no mention of a man, but I might have misunderstood or misread! You're right though, adding Gael would be killing two birds with one stone. No matter what she said, Damian should put her on the defensive, her story is ridiculous! He didn't question her much at all!

Thanks for this perfect recap, Cyn!!

I just watched the episode this morning. Very frustrating with Alfabitch and all, but satisfying watching folks slap and punch Dam.

PS: Cyn-I like Elisa and Dam together better than Gael and Elisa, too.

Hello, Cynderella:

Thanks you for another funny and fine recap. The Dinner Party scene was pure French farce, or, I should say Mexican farce, and you wrote of it beautifully.

I must highlight some of the gems of this scene:

'Paolo hands Enrique a bottle of champagne and instructs him to open it. Enrique grimaces and refrains from bashing his potential brother-in-law in the head with it.'

Lord, the look of loathing Enrique gave Paolo was so REAL, wasn't it? Also real were the smirks on several actor's faces, esp. Edmundo's.

'Ramona tells Paloma that she will go with her if she changes her mind about attending the dinner party. Ramona would love to go since Mrs. Kravitz insulted her grand-daughter.'

Cynderella, when I saw that scene with Ramona and Paloma I thought, "Oh, no, watch out Begoña! You are going to be punished today for all of your gossipy crap and class nastiness!" Black mamba tongues, bat wing, dragon toe fungus, That sounds like a most potent recipe.

The rest of the dinner party was a scream, from Ramona uttering dire but clearly made-up pronouncements about the color of the flowers and the novia's gown, to her tucking in her napkin to tuck in to the special dinner of squab that Begoña worked so hard to prepare.

And, early in the story, weren't the birds Elisa brought to the curandera to heal, replaced with pigeons (squabs, young pigeons) when they died?

I know I am supposed to just take everything on faith from here on out, but I think this is just another touch of the nasty by our sadistic writers. Paloma is served squab by Begoña.

I just love your recaps, Cynderella.

Marta, my kid, who may not be mine (I think he may have been switched at birth and the jury is still out on that) once came to me and told me something illogical. Because my kid is quite the little Devangel, I immediately doubted him. During the PTA (AKA inquisition), I mentioned to the principal, the teacher and several other people in the room, what my kid had said. The teacher proudly admitted that she did it. The principal and counselors and I were stunned because I thought that devangels lied 100% of the time. I'm just saying that if my MOTHER (even if I doubted her) told me something and I witnessed the chick in my mother's face. I would at least ask the question half-heartedly.

Again, I am not saying that Elisa was not justified. She had every right to be angry with Alfonsina. I feel the same with Carmina. I think Carmina deserved every bit of the beating that Agosto gave her; however, I also believe that after beating her that way, Agosto deserved to be shot.

PS, thanks Elna June, I appreciate it.

Under normal circumstances, in Dam's shoes, i can see that i would at least ask the question he asked. But as others have pointed, Alfie is no 'typical' mother, she is very grudgy/resentful/obsessed, especially towards Elisa. But I can see our fellow foristas point of view that no matter what, Alfie is his mother... even if she has lied to him and held things from him all his life, and kept him away from the woman he loves.
I guess IMO you are not forgiven ANY behavior just because you are a MOTHER...
now lets look at it from Elisa's point of view... this is NOT the first time Damian just takes his mother's word for granted and either accuses or questions Elisa on something his mother said, is it? ALfie hid the letters to and from Dam with Gael and Elisa, she prevented any contact between Damian and his friends, heck, even letters to and from Loopy were destroyed... When she and Elisa had their slap exchange she conveniently did not tell Dam that she had slapped Elisa... she would not let Elisa anywhere near Dam when he was recovering from the gunshot wound...she did NOT deny the possibility they are siblings, even though she is sure the Rosie/Stefie relationship was NOT THAT LONG. at least she never questioned Elisa's origin until it was brought up to her, so i really dont think she doubted Elisa's origin. Elisa has always been under attack from Alfie and that is not exactly a secret, even Alfie's own brother Loopy knows her enough to loudly disagree with her schemes/lies when she tries to start a whole new mess against Elisa/Stefie. Recently she blackmailed Elisa into surrendering her lands to Alfie with high interest in order to drop the charges against Augusto. So Elisa has more than enough reasons to be on the defensive and react insulted/offended at ALfie even showing up at the mass for her dad.

Carlos, Marlene won her match today, boy those numbers sound like she and the other boxer had a punch fest.. compared to the amount of punches recorded for the other matches.

Cynderella, thanks for another madcap recap... I so adore your incredible work.

I was absent all of last week. The Lovely Linda and I spent most of last week relaxing in Galveston. The only TV we watched was a bit of the Olympics in the hotel bar.

I did catch up on Abismo and the great recaps over the weekend. Sorry I missed out on the great grammar discussions. There seems to be a lot more interest here in grammar in this TN than there was in previous novelas.

Loved, loved, loved Ramona at the Tovars. How good it was to see Begoña at a loss for words. Eddie really seemed to enjoy her performance.

Carlos

Marta, I saw the results of Marlen's first bout. I didn't get a chance to see it so I hope that they'll show it tonight.

Carlos

Marta, Carlos or anyone interested!

Read this!

Sounds like Cancan Ren of China is the gal to beat! I haven't watched it either, but I might like to after our gal was booed by the Venezuelans.

There seems to be a lot more interest here in grammar in this TN than there was in previous novelas.

It's more interesting than some of the fillergarbage (yes, one word)the writers have been giving us! :-)
