Refugio Para el Amor #101 Tue 8/28/12 If Only God Would Give Me Some Clear Sign! Like Making A Large Deposit In My Name In A Swiss Bank* (*Woody Allen)
- Tarde o temprano la verdad sale a la luz. = The truth will out. (The truth of Claudio's innocence has now come to light; and hopefully the truth of Luciana's pregnancy will be revealed soon as well.)
- Las mentiras tienen las patas cortas. = same....The truth will out.
- El sol brilla para todos = We are all equal in the eyes of the Lord. (a proverb that runs contrary to Gala and Roselena's notion that all folks who are not of their “class” are subaltern and unworthy of respect)
Labels: refugio
Do you all catch that Rosa loca was reading about Mother Theresa (Madre Teresa
de Calcutta) while in the bed. Guess she is really, really trying hard to emulate her. Ha Ha. Oh gracious, that was some slick writing for this sicko character.
Poor Rod dumb as a rock. At least Pato has some cojones.
I'm glad Oscar did not succumb to Max's bribe. When he realizes how bad Max is he'll be almost as mortified as the TL kids will be.
Don't get me started about the comparison of Rosaelena and Mother Teresa.
I can't wait to see Julie and Gala's faces when they find out the verdict and the penalty. That will be hilarious.
And poor Aldo cracking up and dying of laughter fighting desperately to hold it back when Rosealena carried on with her ANTICS in court today????
I almost died laughing just watching the character's EXPRESSIONS in the background when the Judge read the sentence!
LOLOLOL!!!!!
I loath Don Asshat and think there would be nothing worse then Vi finding out she is his daughter and Magda ending up with him. He shows her virtually no respect (that appear only reserved for Luci lately) nor for any other woman. He has made me sick from the beginning.
Rod made his bed and now he has to sleep in it and he gets no pity from me. He is so obviously Rosa's spawn, same unreasonable hate and vindictiveness, so little willingness to listen to any one who says something he doesn't agree with. Wonder what he is going to do when he no longer has him gym to take out his frustrations on. Gagme was right with one thing when she told Julie she couldn't imagine the drama if the case went against the TL's.
I can hardly wait to see the loss of fortuna and half the business post mortum. Dinner at the big house tonight is going to be worse than ever.
I really wish that Claudio had made a little speech saying that he didn't want the business or the money that they would all go to his daughter and then walk out of court leaving Rosa and the rest with jaws on the ground. Can't you see the head scratching on the part of the young ones who know nothing and the spitting fury on La Loca's face.
Because CERTAINLY for an outburst such as that from that TORRESLANDA CAMP surely they would and should be thrown in jail for CONTEMPT OF COURT!
This judge was certainly tolerant of their antics ~ LOL!!!
"Family Adult Tantrum." You are not kidding. If I was the judge, I would have given CL the judgement if only to get back at the obvious "Mean Kids". No Popsicles for you guys. Time out in the corner. Bunch of adult spoiled brats. I'll give Oscar a bit of a pass, but he should get his sorry butt out of that company.
As for our dear Pato--woohoo, neck brace is off. Looking good! I thought I saw a twitch as well as he sat there, wasn't sure, but I"m guessing he was ready to move to the CL side, or at the least get away from his embarrassing family. Where's the nearest hole to crawl into when you need one. I see him breaking with this clan soon.
Max's body language was hysterical in the courtroom. And Rosa's bursting in was just stoopid. She knows full well CL is innocent, but in the family delusional way, has convinced herself he is the bad guy to justify what SHE did.
As for the big reveal with CL as Luci's dad, so that didn't come out and we have to endure Rod's continued rantings on him "hugging" Luci. Anyone wonder if he finds out about the bebe, he'll think it's CL's?? I mean, this guy is not firing on all cylinders, hero or no, so I wouldn't put it past him.
As for Gagme, oh, bad timing!!! After what happened and she's messing with his man-cave. Bad move. Still amazes me she really thought Rod would be all doting husband with her. We should open a clinic to treat all these delusional people. I do want to see The Champagne Queen's reaction when she finds out half the money is gone. I'm popping popcorn for that one.
Mati---" because she forbade me"?????? Just uncalled for. Poor Padre.
Some of the side stuff- meh. But Vi, really??? That guy always looks like he just sucked lemons. What does she see in him? If you're lucky you will never see him again. Move on!!!
Can't wait for tonight. But also, now I'm worried for CL. I keep remembering he wanted to make Luci his heir and now he's got 1/2 of the company. There's this anvil moving in....
CHERYL...good to see you back. Bet your summer was fabulous but we've missed you.
DECIE GIRL...For some reason, I think Don Aquiles is destined for redemption. And Magda with her straight talk, take no prisoners style is the person who's going to set him straight and lead him to recognize (and repent of) all his "soberbia".
These stories all have a Biblical structure...Creation, Fall, Repentance and Redemption. Aquiles has lorded it over the townsfolk all his life and felt entitled to anything he wanted. He's already had one Fall in the police action and threat of jail when he tried to kidnap Luciana. I'll be interested to see what else the writers have in store for him. The fact that they're playing comical music during his scenes now just makes me think he's going to end up as one of the good guys.
But...I could be wrong!
UA...I'd love "to get you started" on the differences between Roselena and Mother Theresa! It would be a wonderful rant I'm sure.
If the good lady had been reading a bodice ripper instead of Mother Teresa, she might have given her husband a warmer welcome in bed.
Gala and Roselena are not only delusional, they have this Entitlement thing going on. The fact that Gala is Rod's legal wife makes her think she's entitled to his affection, passion and indulgence of any whim, regardless of how she treats him and how she uses him. Doesn't work that way.
And for some reason, Roselena feels entitled to treat all people like dirt, including her supposedly "beloved" family.
seeing eggs (and the egos) go splat in the highfalutin' Torreslanda facade". Marvelous!
Your dichos were my favorite but I also enjoyed: "his favorite Rage Release" and "they plot their next inroad into the Torreslanda fortune". I loved seeing many of my favorite English words: "portentous and "strident" among others.
Anon and Vivi, I loved Rosa reading about Mother Theresa. I suspect she ingests the information and then does just the opposite. No similarities there! :)
Sweet victory for Claudio indeed. I savored every moment!
Judy, I have watched Magda and Don Aquiles scenes together quite closely. Magda's usual stance is arms folded, usually looking away from him, with her back turned or to the side. Their face to face discussion last night was interesting. I had wondered if there was any chance of their reuniting which resurfaced after I read: "But somehow I like the idea of one day Madga and Don Aquiles getting back together after he realizes Violeta is his daughter". I'm not sure he can completely atone for kidnapping Luci, but I think there is a kinder side emerging and he might be a fairly good father come lately for Vio.
Thanks again Judy. This was fabulous.
Diana
here are some things i noticed...
when Luci was calling Claudio, he mentioned to her that Rod and Pato were there.. Luci says sure, they were supporting their father, as i should do too. Claudio tells her he did not want her there, it was a bit rough what was going on there.
As RosaElena lays in bed, she is reading a book about/by Mother Theresa of Calcutta.. (LOL!)
When the decision by the jury is read and Claudio tells the judge he only wanted to clear his name, RosaE shouts 'how cursi!!' LOL!
Also the 10% the judge ordered Max to give Claudio out of his own fortune, he said it was because of his FALSE ACCUSATIONS.
And as RosaE barged into the court room and was ordered to sit down quietly by the judge, she kept barging things at Claudio and he was about to stand and respond but Barrera and Melissa held him back reminding him that THAT was exactly what she was going after, to provoke him into making a mistake.
more to come...
And your timing is brilliant, you had me on the edge of my seat even though I actually saw the episode.
DIANA, I see you have the same soft heart that I do. I guess, because Magda and Aquiles DO have a child together (and therefore a history of youthful passion, however brief and irresponsible)) I'd like to see them mend their differences, heal their hurts (well Madga's anyway) and reunite as a mature couple. If I'm a sentimental old fool, so be it!
MARTA-- Yes, that "que cursi!" really got to me. That's why I put it in the vocabulary. Roselena is incapable of understanding true integrity and generosity of spirit, in spite of her reading of Mother Teresa.
EMARIE - You've got me smiling with that "quiet sports announcer like they have for golf games". My husband is a dedicated Golf Channel watcher and they do have some very quiet announcers indeed. I'll take that as a high compliment (imagining myself with a Scottish accent right now).
HOwever when they had sat down to analyze Linare's evidence, Rod said 'then Linares could be innocent' and Max responded 'there is a 50 50 chance he will be'.
Rod then wonders if Linares is innocent, then they will have to do whatever the judge says (the sentence). Max says 'we will see'.
In bed RosaE tells Max Linares will never have the power of the T-L's. Max smirks and tells her 'if he were to win the hearing/trial, he would recover it'. That is when RosaE says 'if you did it before (accuse/nail Linares) you can do it again now that you are SO powerful' .(LOVED your tarantula comment, JudyB, you nailed that!)
The morning of the sentence Rod is still in la-la land saying Linares will be found guilty as before, Pato says we need to wait to see what the peritos (spanish for experts, has only 1 r)
loved it when RosaE barks she can't believe such injustice, Pato tells RosaE that Linares proved his innocence, even the real guilty guy confessed... RosaE barks at Pato saying he seems more a Linares than a TL, and Pato calmly rebuttes 'No, mama! what is happening is i have been discovering things now that i ignored before'... (seems RosaE's house of cards and blindfonds on her sons is falling fast, at least on the Pato side) and Rodrigo as blind as ever... STOOPID...
i really hope now that he doesn't have his gym equipment he asks Gala if he can use her as his new punchbag.
ROFLOL as Judge asks Max to give Claudio 50% of the TL empire, RosaE barks 'it is against the Constitution!! where are the laws in this country??' ROFLOL!!
(meanwhile Julie is toasting for 'everything will turn out perfect, cheers!!' LOL!)
The 10% of Max's fortune was granted to Claudio 'as payment for damages caused to Claudio Linares for a FALSE ACCUSATION...'
Claudio does not want the money, but Barrera is right 'we can't ask the Judge to not do his job!!'(the sentence must be fair and square)
Pato is right in previews 'tough times are coming to the TL's'.
you are so right in..
'Dinner at the big house tonight is going to be worse than ever.'
they all better wear protective helmets, Rosa will be mad for a food fight. Get ready for lots of stares and killer laser eyes going back and forth.
Tarde o temprano la verdad sale a la luz. = sooner or later The truth will come to the light.
Las mentiras tienen las patas cortas. (lies have short legs, meaning lies don't last long)
El sol brilla para todos = We are all equal in the eyes of the Lord.
I didn't catch the Mother Teresa book, lol. All I saw was Calcutta. She sure doesn't emulate that book does she? She may seem pious, but we know she really isn't.
I'm with you Judy bout Don A. I think he too is on the road to redemption and I am with you too about Magda and he getting together in the end. I wish they would, they are so great together, lol. He never knew that Vio is his. I remember in the beginning of this TN that Magda told Paz that the father never knew she had Vio. Can't wait till he finds out. I love the way he uses her full name when he is trying to get a point across to her, Magdalena.
Vivi- That Judge from 20 years ago. Remember Oscar went to see him before the trial started? Did Oscar try to bribe him, or insinuate a bribe? It surprised me when he came to court with Pedro Campos' confession. I thought he was firmly in the Torreslanda camp.
I loved the verdict too. Yay, for Claudio, but now this does put him in danger. We all know what Max is capable of, never mind la loca.
DaisynJay- Can't wait to see the look on the Champagne Queen's face when she hears the verdict. Never mind Gagme me. I wonder if the architect will go to Dead To Me with the changes to his man cave. He was very reluctant to make ANY changes.
Yeah, why does Gagme feel she Dead To Me owes her love and affection? Dead to Me flat out told her he was only marrying her to give the baby a name. I guess she feels she can "change" him. I can't see it. If Gagme was the last woman on Earth he still wouldn't want her.
I am digusted with Mati. I wish she would tell, but then we wouldn't have this TN. She is the keeper of all the secrets, especially where her nina is concerned. I want to know all the past stuff with la loca. We got to see the "reasons" with Aurora, I wish we could see the stuff from before that. Like what happened in her childhood.
I love the contrast in Dead To Me's two women Gagme and Luci. Not that Gagme is his woman, so to speak. Gagme is all about the plotting and planning and snaring of Dead To Me, and so unhappy and never satisfied. Luci, on the other hand, is all about love, being happy, (even though she doesn't have her man), enjoying the simple things in life and making herself a good life. Dead to Me never should have forgotten how wonderful she is. Even though deep down he can't forget.
I am liking Pato more and more. I too thought he might go over to the Linares side. His brain is working so wonderfully, he'll have figured out what's going on soon, I think.
Vivi- thank you. I couldn't remember exactly what Oscar said to the Judge when he met with him.
Madelaine...definitely the Virgencita is on the case, as Marta once said. A lot of candles being lit and prayers wafting up like incense in this one.
Interesting that while Paz and Luci have the tender Virgen, Roselena prays in front of a suffering, crucified, bloody Christ. (A hint of her sadistic tendencies?)
I cannot help but wonder how much better things would be for Luci if she were actually praying to God/Jesus rather than Mary... who, by the way is no longer a virgin.
It is worth noting, however, that Rosa's prayers are filled with panic & crazy rage while Luci's prayers are filled with peace which only comes from above. Again, she knows Him while Rosa does not.
Also, the difference between Luci & Gagme has an awful lot to do with the type of mother's they were given. I cannot imagine who I would be if life had handed me Julie as a mother! Ugh...
Research has shown that even in families where both parents are schizophrenic and/or alcoholic, about a third of their offspring turn out to be not just "normal" but exceptional in their ability to achieve and to empathize and care for others.
As a Protestant, I have sometimes been puzzled by the reverence of the Virgin Mary as intercessor, but-- especially in macho cultures where men have (sometimes brutally) dominated for a long time-- I can see how people would connect to the compassionate nature of God or Christ through the persona of Mary.
And I have been in support groups where women abused by their fathers growing up, simply could not visualize God as "father" so they needed a feminine notion of Jehovah.
Regardless of the images, I am going to trust, whether in telenovelas or in life, that we are all praying to the same ineffable God...a God who is simply too great to be encompassed by the human intellect.
Vicki, "gently bleats," so sad.
Julie, "what's love got to do with it?" to Gala, ha.
Dramatic courtroom stuff even if we can't put a label on this proceeding.
Best was Rosa marching right up and getting in the jury's face with her loca self.
I think Oscar needs to go back to law school to work on his "game face." He keeps slapping his hand to his forehead.
Thanks so much Judy B., and for vocab/dichos too.
Clara
I guess Oscar does need to work on his game face, but I love that he has not been corrupted yet by working with Max, and held his ground when being asked to offer bribes, by simply noting that he could lose his license. Indeed. Not that Max would care. He'd just get another lawyer.
I hope the fact that Oscar DOES have a spine, as well as Melissa, will help Connie stiffen hers a bit. She still cuts wicked Roselena way too much slack in the name of sisterhood.
And yes, i too struggle with Mary as intercessor, but not as much anymore. I married a Mexican and am now very used to my in-laws loving them some Mary (as do I, by the way). But, we do indeed love the same God.
My high school chemistry teacher (a professor at CalTech before her husband got transferred to the Midwest) thought of God as the first electron. I can't quite cosy up to that image, but it worked for her!
Loved your line---Lets sit back and enjoy the trial and seing eggs [and the egos] go splat in the highfalutin' Torreslanda facade.
Also---No relief for you tonight Max-no time for a quickie with Vicky and Roselena off-limits as usual.
Rosa el loca and mother Teresa QUE???
creation,fall,repentance and redemption--yes, I hadn't thought of that.
The united family is rotten to the core---well, most of them.
Urban---Yeah, Gala and Julie's money just diminished a litte.
Annamous 5:21 -- Yes, I too was waiting for a contempt of court on the Torreslandas but it never came.
dece Girl--Would you like to have dinner at the Torreslanda house tonight?
Madelaine---ITA-It must have been Luci's prayers that the former judge was able to get Pedro's confession.
Claudio better get thoes papers ofer to Lucy to sign fast. Anvils are waiting to fall. Max will be out of control now.
the gringo
Decie Girl might be able to handle dinner at the Torreslanda's tonight but I think I would get heartburn! The tension and rage would really jangle my nerves.
Sign me up for a nice relaxed dinner of frijoles y arroz at the peaceful Paz residence instead.
BUT.... Claudio better buy that house in Het Het and get there pronto. Bubbles (aka Julie) will be all over him. After all he now has a good chunk of her fortuna. This of course will be fun to watch, there is no way he would ever have anything to do with her especially after what she did to Luci.
Rosemary Primera
Max wasn't interested in Vicki last night. She is the one who called him and he blew her off only to go to bed with his much loved iceberg.
I still find it interesting that the judge was able to find Campos while Claudio's team could not. Max knew how to get in touch with him but even he may not have known where he was and i doubt if he told the original judge.
Thinking about those previews of Pato talking to Rod but i don't think he is going to tell him about Luci. She begged him not to and while he didn't agree to it I don't think he would do anything that might cause Luci to have more pain. In any event the Dumbass will probably make some stupid statement about Claudio so that bomb must wait for another day. I do wish Melissa would have a little sit down with Pato and tell him what she knows but then again she is now persona no grata with the rest of the TL's.
Ya know I have been thinking of the way Luci prays and Rosa with the bloodied Christ on the Cross, and I really think, this is MOHO, that Rosa equates herself with Christ and suffering. Really she thinks she is "suffering" like He did. She doesn't have a clue.
ROSEMARY PRIMERA--Love your nickname for Julie. "Bubbles" really fits her. Sounds like a cheesy nightclub hatcheck girl. I'm sure Claudio could fend her off though. Even with his gentlemanly demeanor, he's pretty tough when he needs to be.
DECIE GIRL--You make a good point about Aquiles only being good to Luciana so far. But one has to start somewhere on the road to redemption. Baby steps, baby steps. I'm still holding out hope for him.
Alas, you may also be right about Pato not actually spilling the beans. The writers love to tease us with these juicy previews and then it all comes to naught.
VIVI...LOL...He's pretty young so he might not be too ruffled by my telenovela wool-gathering. Not going to bring it up though!
How pissed off is Gala going to be when she finds out all that money is going to CL, and by inheritance, Luciana? Can't wait to hear that conversation. And why would she hire an architect to decorate a baby room? Architects don't know squat about interiors, especially frou frou decorating jobs like she's going to want to do to that room. Assuming Rod still has money. HA! Try Ikea ladies.
Kelly
Is Violeta really DA's baby? If so, that would explain this odd passion between Magda and he. It may come off as dislike, but they are awfully "into" that dislike--makes me think there is something else under the surface.
But nothing beats that devil woman reading about Mother Teresa. Brilliant from the Director!
