Julissa (b. 1944):
We are currently seeing her in comic mode in Porque el Amor Manda as the cartoonishly bitchy Susanna:

I love the old portrait photos of these older actresses when they were young. It bugs me that nobody seems to do photos like that anymore.

Thanks so much for this gallery of photos. I too love the ones of Helena Rojo. And you are so right Urban, they don't take pictures like that anymore. The one of Helena Rojo with the lighter hair almost looks like Aracely Arambula. I had to do a double take.
I have a rare book of photo portraits of famous people by famous photographers. The photos are all in black and white and go back as far as Abe Lincoln. Real thought was in those photographs. The photographers of the 40s and 50s who did actors' head shots were the last of their kind.
I LOVED the Helena Rojo pictures. What a beautiful woman. The one of Julissa is beautiful, too.
These women seem to have retained so much of their beautiful looks. One always wonders if they had a little help along the way. Not being critical, but if they didn't, then they are a reminder that women can look beautiful at any age.
Case in point: the 90 or so year old wife of one of the members of Sweden's royalty recently passed away. They showed a picture of her in her late 80s. She looked like nothing had been "done" to her face. She looked incredibly beautiful and regal (and had been a "commoner"...such a word) before she married her prince).
Every woman should have a picture taken of themselves just like that last black and white photo you showed of Helena Rojo. That was just simply gorgeous!!!
Thank you, thank you, UA!!!

One year, not too long ago, they had an exhibition of George Hurrell's photos at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. Unfortunately, I was unable to go during it's entire stay--and I live just a short hop on the freeway away. Ugh!.
was that also on purpose to see if we were paying attention? LOL
