Caray, Caray!

Carmen is upset that Natalia told Irene about Tuxpan.  She assumes Irene will end up taking Rod's side and now she has more ammo.

El leaves Morales to wait for some important papers while he takes Cunchetina to lunch.  Morales' mom calls because she locked herself out of the house…and now he has a dilemma.

Gino keeps thinking about the anonymous love email, checking out the chicks in the bowling alley, and wondering which one of them sent it.

Morales gets his buddy to wait for the papers while he goes to unlock the door for his mom.  Kimberly shows up and he tells her El is at La Hortaliza.

Irene shows up at Alonso's apartment.  She's not surprised that Grumps is on Rodrigo's side.  She agrees that Diego needs to press charges and Alonso suggests they check with El.

El can't help being enchanted by Cunchetina.  He thinks Gino's an idiot to care about a few extra pounds.  She asks about his personal life and Kimberly gets to hear him saying he's on the verge of breaking up with someone.  Alonso calls El to summon him to a meeting at his place.



Brigitte tries to catch Alberto so she can borrow money from him, but he's on his way to Alonso's.  She decides to wait, much to his receptionist's not caring.

Gino responds to the anonymous email.

The meeting was at El's office, actually.  Where, in the midst of everyone deciding that Grumps must know where Rodrigo is, and therefore it would be a good idea to put a tail on him, Rodrigo walks in, snotty and smarmy as ever, to "turn himself in."  He taunts Diego, who has to be held back by the Als.

Paolo walks in on Gino as he's sending the email.  Since Paolo has been helping at the fonda, he's been in contact with Mara and tells Gino she's capable of handling things.  Somehow, in the process of acknowledging that Mara's got a good head on her shoulders, Gino starts to think about what an idiot he is for getting excited about an anonymous email when he's engaged to Carmen.

Abdul tells Carmen and Natlia that Rodrigo went to turn himself in.  Natalia is suspicious and worried that it's a trap.

Rodrigo swears to the cops that until 3 days ago he thought he was Diego.  He was completely convinced, until everyone started to confuse him.  And then, to un-confuse himself, he got really drunk.  And then he called his grandfather.  And now, here he is.  From behind the mirror, The Als, Irene, and Diego wonder WTF Rodrigo is up to and don't believe a word of his lies.

Cunchetina buys herself a laptop.

Rodrigo blames it all on Irma.  "She must have done something to me while I was coming out of the coma.  Isn't it weird that she's gone?"  El doesn't believe a word of it.

Paolo, in Gino's office, gets the call that Rodrigo has been "caught."  Gino gives Paolo the rest of the day off, even though he was just grousing about how much work there is to do.  He won't go with Paolo, though…somebody's gotta keep an eye on the bidness.

Before he leaves, Paolo checks with Mara to see if Gino's been acting weird.  They think maybe he's still nervous about the Sicilians showing up.

There's going to be no way to prove that Rodrigo is lying, per Alonso.  Per Alberto, lots of crooked lawyers like to use this trick to get their clients off and Rodrigo must have been advised by one of them.  Per Eleazar, they should have Rod evaluated anyway, but Alonso can't do it since he's the person who uncovered the twin switch.  What he can do is explain to the court-appointed evaluator, who also happens to be one of his former teachers, what happened and how he figured it out.  Irene is sure Grumps is helping Rodrigo pay for the slimy, crooked lawyer.

Rodrigo tries to convince Morales to let him make his one phone call.  Morales isn't going to do that until Eleazar tells him to, which he won't until Rodrigo stops telling this ridiculous story.

Dr. Robledo remembers Alonso as a good student.  Alonso explains that Eleazar wants him to evaluate Rodrigo, that Rodrigo was in a coma for 2 years, and he's claiming that when he came out of the coma, he got confused about who he was and thought that he was really his twin brother, Diego.  He says that Team Diego believes that Rod took his brother's place on purpose.

Eleazar thinks if he keeps questioning Rodrigo, he'll eventually slip up.  Diego asks Eleazar to let him talk to Rodrigo.

Rodrigo convinced Morales to call Grumps and tell him that Rodrigo was arrested.  Fernandez tells Grumps they're doing the right thing and to trust him.

Diego comes into the interrogation room, and whispers something to Morales, who leaves.  Rodrigo tells Diego he's not going to apologize, since he doesn't even know what he's supposed to have done.  "It was all Irma's fault."  Diego tells Rodrigo that he's not there for an apology.  He's there to let Rodrigo know that he talked to Natalia today and that she doesn't care what Rodrigo did, she's willing to give Diego another chance.  "Instead of separating us, you've actually brought us closer together.  While you're rotting In jail, she and I will be happy."  Good strategy!  I wonder who came up with it…I mean, since Lupita's not around.

Eleazar is fine with Morales letting Grumps know where Rodrigo is, but he finds it odd that Grumps didn't really react.  Eleazar would love to bring Grumps in and charge him with being Rod's accomplice.

Brigitte is still getting voicemail and asks the receptionist if she can call Alberto…"Maybe he'll answer if it's from the office."  The receptionist refuses, since, like any decent human being, she assumes that if Alberto's not answering his phone it's because he can't answer his phone.  "Fine!  He's going to find out that you weren't willing to help me!"  Brigitte flounces out.

I suddenly got a wave of nostalgia for Diana.  Remember when she was hiding out at Oliverio's and the landlady came by for two months of back rent?  And Diana called somebody to buy everything in the place that wasn't nailed down and stayed on a mattress on the floor?  Ah, Diana.  You were a selfish, evil woman, but you knew how to get things done.

Cunchetina reads Gino's email and thinks he must love her as much as she loves him.  But wait…he's engaged…and here he is writing her a saucy email?!  That Casanova!  That bastard!  That two-face!  Well, this is what she wanted--to unmask him.  "Sorry, Carmen Garcia.  But all's fair in love and war!"

Diego tells Rodrigo that he now realizes that the reason Rodrigo always wanted to switch places with him is that Rodrigo wanted what Diego had and was never able to get it for himself.  "Two years without you has been the best thing that ever happened to me.  I was tired of hearing about how we were so alike.  All this time I've been just me and no one else.  And now I get to keep that up, while you're in jail."  Rodrigo is on to his game, though, and won't give in.  He puts on his confused face and tells Diego he doesn't understand why he's so upset.  "You're my brother.  I love you."  Diego loses his temper and lunges for Rodrigo, so El hauls him out of the room.

Cunchetina takes some selfies for Gino.

Mara comes in with a folder for Gino, but he still won't let her use the computer and says he's waiting for a personal email.  He gets his reply, plus a picture, and his jaw drops.

El wishes he hadn't let Diego in there.  Diego is pouting like a kid and throws a tantrum about how everybody is always right about everything except him…and promptly gets dizzy.

Rodrigo complains to Morales about how everyone thinks he's the one who's nuts, and look at how Diego behaved. When Morales won't entertain his BS, Rodrigo says he's going to complain to his lawyer about how he was mistreated.  "Oh, yeah?"  Morales says he might as well make getting accused worth his while and acts like he's going to attack Rodrigo.  "Ha!  Kidding.  How stupid do you think I am?  Besides, there are lots of ways to hurt you without leaving a mark."  Rodrigo agrees to back off and then asks what time it is, so he can figure out of his grandfather is going to be much longer.

Padre Juancho arrives at the fonda where Abdul tells him that Rodrigo is in jail.  Nat tells him she doesn't trust that it's over just yet.  Grumps walks in with cops to arrest Natalia for attempting to murder Rod.  Oh, no!  Lupita is terrified and crying as Natalia is dragged away.  You'll pay for that, Grumps!  That's an unforgiveable offense!

In the back of the cop car, Natalia remembers what happened in Tuxpan and remembers everyone telling her that she was only defending herself.

Paolo, Abdul, and Carmen try to follow the car to wherever they're taking Natalia, but they lose it.  When Abdul calls Eleazar to tell him what happened, Eleazar realizes this was Grumps and Rodrigo's plan all along and goes in to rough Rodrigo up over it.  Rodrigo laughs and says "If you're all so interested in 'justice' then she needs to pay for what she did to me.  I was in a coma for two years because of her!"  Morales finally gets Eleazar off of Rodrigo.

Carmen blames it all on Irene.  As far as she's concerned, this is all happening because Natalia told Irene what happened.  Abdul tells her to chill--it will all turn out OK.

Grumps screams at Natalia as she's brought in and a cop reminds her that she needs to stay quiet or it can be used against her.  After she's out of sight, the lawyer tells Grumps that in order for their "plan" to work, he really needs to avoid getting into any arguments with Nat.  Grumps wants to deliver "the final blow" in person, so the lawyer goes to get permission for Grumps to talk to Natalia.

Diego tells Alberto what Natalia told him about Tuxpan.  Alberto can't believe Grumps is going this far.  Diego blames himself for being an idiot and not telling her about Rodrigo.  Alberto tells Diego he has to stay cool.  Eleazar comes in to tell them where Natalia is and says he'll catch up with Carmen later.

Grumps gloats at Natalia behind bars.  Natalia tells him that if poor little Rodrigo was hurt it was because she was defending herself from his attempted rape.  And not only is he a rapist, he's a murderer, too.  Grumps is sure Natalia "provoked" Rodrigo.  Grumps wants to make a deal--withdraw the charges against Rodrigo and convince Diego to do the same and Grumps will drop the charges against her, but she will disappear from their lives.  He gives her the lawyer's name, so she can let him know when she's made up her mind.

Carmen curses Diego--and yes, she really does mean Diego--for ever meeting her daughter.  She wants him gone from their lives.  Diego sadly walks away and Alberto asks her not to be so hard on him.  He promises to get Natalia out of this.  "Well, keep your friend out of it."  Alberto says he can't do that, and they're on their way to see Natalia.  He offers Carmen a ride, but she says the farther away she is from "The Cacares" the better.

Robledo evaluates Rodrigo, who complains that he's confused and they need to find Irma.  Robledo says that whether Rodrigo intended it or not, his actions have had consequences and Robledo has to evaluate how well Rod understands that.  Rod claims there's nothing to understand because he didn't do anything.  He plays the "twin" card saying he and Diego are like one and so of course, he loves him.  Morales, from behind the mirror, remarks to Alonso that Rodrigo's a fabulous actor.  Alonso knows he's acting, but he's not worried.  "What he's doing IS a sign of mental illness. But we're going to have to figure out which one before we can accuse him."

When Vicente gets home, he is met with an angry Irene, who calls him a monster for locking up an innocent woman.  Grumps insists Natalia provoked Rod's attempted rape.  Irene calls him crazy.  Grumps says Nat's a social climber and he can't understand why Irene would be on her side when Rodrigo almost died because of her.  "He had it coming!  It was nothing more than a consequence of his actions."  She accuses him of not thinking of Diego.  "Sure I am!  And that's why I'm going to nip this in the bud.  I have to fix the lives of my grandsons, and the only way to do that is to get that woman out of their lives."  Irene is seeing the parallel between what he's doing now and what he did when she was pregnant.  He decides how he wants things to be and he manipulates everything to get what he wants.  Grumps thinks she really needs to get over losing her daughter already and just move on with her life.  Not gonna happen, Grumps.  Irene will never forget about her.  She intends to find her.  And she will never forgive Vicente.

Tomorrow: Irene is on to Vicente's plan.  Diego says he's prepared to stay out of Natalia's life if it helps get her out of jail.
