La Malquerida #75, 12/8/2014: Itzel Teaches Acacia the True Meaning of Trust and Loyalty
Ulises and German hike through the countryside with the clues from what Uli remembers from his escape, looking for the place where he was being held. He tells German about the man who escaped with him and Itzel but was killed in the woods. They figure if they stumble across his body, they will soon find the place they were held.
A: Did he really go, or did you disappear him?
D: He probably left because he couldn’t handle everything I told him. You don’t know how much good it did me to confess.
I: Ulises always said that he trusts you-- that you would help him.
A: Ulises was in jail, but he’s been released.
I: Because you helped him, right? The poor man did nothing but call your name while he was burning with fever.
I: Only your love gave him the strength to go on. That’s why he sent you the letter.

Yay..German tells Uli "those lands belong to Danilo." Perhaps the web that Damnilo has woven will start to unravel soon.
I got a kick out of Juliana's body language as she smarmed and purred and wiggled around poor Hector.
Yes, Juli was a hoot in her attempted seduction. Poor Hector.
I also hope that Uli makes note that the lands that seemed familiar belong to Dan, and continues to investigate. He's so close.
Diana- Can you recap on Wed for me and I'll recap Thurs? I have an event Wed night.
"Dan loses his (limited) patience and grabs her by the hair, dragging her to the other side of the room"; "Este extends his hand and thanks Hector. Hector is just as surprised as we are. Manuel further surprises us by also thanking and apologizing to his dad…oops, I mean Hector" (what fun) and "then drops the A-Bomb—te AMO" were among my favorites.
"Acacia knocks on the office door, enters, and starts rubbing Esteban’s shoulders. He screams at her to leave him alone! He doesn’t want to hear anything she has to say. He storms out and says he’s going to see his wife" I wanted to reach through the screen and throttle Acacia! For once, Este was trying to do the right thing and made it crystal clear he wanted to be by himself. Yet, she persisted on following him, pawing him and trying to "comfort" him. Good heavens girl, let him be! It was maddening.
"Este cries about the baby-his salvation, dying...Este laments that he can’t go back to Cris". Ummm, what?? So your child dies and that means you are going to punish Cris further by leaving her?
As disgusted as I am with both Este and Acacia, Danilo sunk to even more loathsome depravity. I cringed at what happened in the bedroom. For the first time, I am grateful at Uni's cutting what happened to Ale out.
Memo is playing with fire. He is lucky Danilo was so consumed with vengeance on Ale. Seeing him present Ale with the flower was sickening.
Susanlynn, "Estenuts" (good one)has his most animated scenes with Rubio, doesn't he??
I loved the tender moments between Arturo and Luisa and Itzel and Uli (Vivi, there DEFINITELY was a spark!), but those sweet interludes just could not compensate for Ale's more dire than ever predicament or for Cris' heartbreak.
I see no one heeded some of our bloggers' advice that all of the baby Paraphernalia be removed. I am dreading seeing Cris plummet into depression.
Vivi, gracias.

The only thing that I will say for now is that last night I think that I saw the sun just starting to peek through the dark clouds that have been hanging over El Soto for so long. Itzel,
YEAH!!! A good sign of things to come? I sure hope so.
the gringo
Gringo- Thanks for dropping by. Yes, the Moon Goddess Itzel has brought a bit of sunlight to Soto. Even if things don’t turn romantic with Uli, they are now bonded for life, and her testimony will be just what he needs to help clear his name and prove his story once and for all.
Even if Uli and Acacia do end up together in the end, I just can’t see Carmen ever forgiving Acacia and accepting her as a daughter-in-law. It was bad enough when Acacia just didn’t believe Uli, but when she testified against him, that nailed the coffin shut and buried any good feelings Carmen might have had about her for good.
The prove you're not a robot test has moved from numbers to words now. How annoying!
"Acacia whines and cries to Hector about how she didn’t trust Uli and deserves how Carmen treated her. Hector disagrees. I agree with Acacia."
Loved the comic relief last night.
Juliana needs a little work at being coy
Itzel unknowingly shaming the xxit outta Acacia
Danny co-opting Memo's band & corsage
Ulis & Itzel, in a horrible situation, were emboldened to escape because they are an innate team. Courage, respect, commitment and loyalty they give to each other like life blood. Please don't let something happen to Itzel just so Acacia can be homecoming queen.
I do hope Hector doesn't fall into the trap Juli is trying to set. Hopefully he's smarter than that. Juli is just completely desperate and will do anything to make her financial situation better. I hope Germán gets tired of paying a hotel for her and she is forced to go with her parents.
Esteban was in really bad shape and it actually was not at all enjoyable to see Rubio provoking him. Esteban is digging his own grace here. If he really wants to not be attracted to Acacia then he should try and focus on helping Cris. And then after that he should really consider preserving his marriage.
I think Uli and Itzel are good friends and that's it. They have been there for each other. Carmen obviously had no problem insulting Acacia and receiving Itzel with open arms.
Memo is lucky and he better be more careful next time. I hope Ale finds an ally in this. Who could it be?
I liked that scene with Manuel and Hector aka father and son Peniche.
TF, I agree - Memo had a very narrow escape last night. While I had also fervently hoped for someone to help Ale, that light is dimming for me.
I think Ale is going to have rely on her resilience as she always has. My one hope is Hector. Once he finishes fixing things with Itzel's testimony and Uli's misfortunes, I am hoping he will turn his attention to German and thus, Ale. He is a multitasker, if nothing else!
I did not understand why Manuel was engaging with Hector the way he was. Could he possibly garner there is a Hector/Cris connection and that it might be to his advantage to make nice? Manuel is difficult to read sometimes but I'm wondering if there may be a bit more there than I initially thought.
Between Rubio whispering about dumping Cris and making Acacia his baby-mama in his ear, and Acacia accosting him wherever he went, Este was fighting back demons on all fronts this episode. I don't think he'll be successful.
I find it interesting that he kept calling the baby his salvation. As if this baby would have washed away all his sins (murder, coveting his boss' wife, coveting his wife's daughter). Well, now he can't even cling to that allusion, and all his sins and evil deeds are staring at him in his face.
Here is a bit more detail about what Manuel said to Norb about why he's making nice to Hector: He's noticed how much Acacia respects Hector and heeds his advice. Now that Este and Cris are back together, he knows Este will be trying to separate him from Acacia. He sees having Acacia's new father figure on his side as an advantage to fight Este's negative influence. Does that make sense?
I don't think the baby would've made Este's obsession with Acacia disappear overnight.
Anonymous, I agree that Hector could be counted on to help Ale. I think it'll be a matter of her finding someone she can trust that Dan would least expect.
Appreciate your filling me in. I now know what is motivating Manuel and yes, it makes perfect sense. I give him a little credit for figuring out how he can use Hector to his advantage.
But, I'm pretty sure Hector will figure him out (if he hasn't already). It's pretty difficult to put anything over on Hector.
Diana
I'm sure Hector has had a lot of practice, especially since his divorce, deflecting pushy women. Interesting that Juliana went the "I'm a women sooo unprotected!" route. She should realize that's how she wound up with Norb in the first place. Maybe if she had focused on working to help her sick dad out of his financial mess instead of hooking up with someone with ready cash, things would've been different.
Yay, Itzel is back! Yay, Carmen dissed Acacia! Yay, at first Uli didn’t even notice Acacia was standing there!
Back when Itzel was nursing Uli back to health, she said something like "you've got to get well" and sighed to herself "if only to return to her (Acacia).” My take is Itzel had fallen in love with Uli. Now she sees his great love Acacia didn't even believe him much less help him. But so far Uli is still in love with Acacia.
In real life I think Ale would've killed Danilo by now. I like German, but this sacrifice by Ale of enduring sexual humiliation by Danilo is just too great.
For the moment he sang, Danilo sounded pretty good. Alberto Estrella could be in a musical.
ITA with everyone on Acacia trying to comfort Esteban. Stop it – and instead get that baby stuff out of your mother’s bedroom.
Niecie- For some reason this line made me laugh out loud. I don't think you intended it to be funny, but I could just see you taking Ale's hand, giving her a look, and saying, "Girl, I know Big Sexy looks good shirtless and all, but is his life REALLY worth you letting Danevil slime all over you everyday?"
I am definitely rooting for them as a couple.
Acacia tries to garner and gather sympathy from everyone in her orbit. She knows Este is infatuated with her yet she continued to chase him last night all because SHE wanted comfort. Along with the ability to love must come the understanding that there are times others suffer more than she does and she must submerge her "suffering" to be there for others.

The only person who needs therapy more than BHOEN is Estefan, and I was hoping when the doc offered psychological counseling to him and Cris that they might take the doc up on it. Probably not gonna happen. From the previews, it looks like Cris is gonna blow a gasket tonight. It's about time.
Really Estefan Espantoso, what is your obsession with a girl more than half your age who happens to be your step-daughter all about? Are we really supposed to feel sorry for you? I reach for the barf bucket again.
Gotta love that Itzel. What a breath of fresh air in El Soto amid the suffocating dysfunction.
