La Sombra del Pasado #49 4-24-15 The Stolen Kiss!

We have a brief overlap of the conversation between Adelina and Aldonza.  Aldonza admits that she is not happy but she will be one day, that happiness being contingent on making Sev pay for all his offenses.  The main thrust of the scene is Adelina’s firm rejection of Aldonza’ s suspicion that Cris is as perverse as his parents and her doubting her love for him.  Adelina tells her to trust her heart; it’s one thing that he is their son and raised by them but quite another that he would ever hurt Padre J.  Adelina tells her never to forget that Cris loves her as much as she loves him!

Lic. Serrano wants Reanato’s resignation on his desk NOW!  Serrano shuts down Sylvia and Pato and send them away so he can chew Renato out some more.  Serrano is unmoved by Renato’s accepting responsibility and asking pardon and tells Renato to get his cases in order for his successor:  there are lots of candidates who want an opportunity like he just threw away!

Across town there’s another chewing out going on.  Pru accuses Juana of taking the Humberto’s watch and gives her an ultimatum:  if she doesn’t find it, she is fired!  Hum intervenes and rescues Juanita from Pru’s hypocritical claws.

Ay, Candela is still wearing what she wore the previous night and we find her in her bedroom feverishly praying with a rosary.  Dominga knocks and Cande tearfully bids her to enter, affectionately calling her “Nana.”  Dominga sees Cande is distraught and crying.   Cande pulls Dominga down to the bed where she sits and holds her hand.  Cande cries that Jeronimo can’t die!  Dominga gently reminds Cande that she’s always been strong and she can’t get weak now.  Dominga coos to her that she’ll draw her a nice hot bath, it will help her relax, and leads her to the bathroom.

Renato has gotten right to work getting his cases in order.   Sylvia enters the office and Renato asks her to forgive him for exposing her to all of this drama.  Sylvia wants Renato to listen to reason:  Aldonza is causing him more problems than benefits.   Renato argues that he thinks he’ll have a chance with her sometime.  Sylvia’s words fall on deaf ears.  She thought Renato was smarter than this.  He admits he’s not.  Renato rejects Sylvia’s suggestion that he ask Serrano for a second chance:  Serrano is bull headed and won’t budge.  [Takes one to know one?]  Finally, Sylvia tells Renato he can always count on her but asks him to please learn from the experience and don’t do anything stupid for Aldonza again!  She leaves.

After a night of stalking Sylvia, Lardo has new marching orders from Sev:  he is to go to Renato’s office and make a proposal to Serrano on behalf of Severiano Mendoza.

Back at the Zapatas', Pru is sending Hum off like the perfect wife she is. .  .NOT.  Hum calls attention to Juanita, who has packed her bag.  Hum intervenes and asks Juanita not to leave.  Pru flutters off to her room.  Juanita thanks Hum for believing in her.  She goes off to tend to her domestic duties.  Vale comes downstairs.  Hum asks why did Cris ask him to excuse him with Val.  Oh, this girl lies as easily as she breathes.   No worries, they’re just friends and Cris invited HER to a movie.  She’s also skilled at shutting daddy down.  She’s not pressuring Cris; she’s got a right to fight for her happiness and she’s going to do whatever she can to get Cris back.  Hum tells her essentially he doesn’t want to hear her complaining if things don’t go the way she wants.  He leaves for work.

Abelardo has come to present Sev’s proposal to Serrano.  Sev wants Renato off the Alcocer case and is willing to pay Serrano well for his assistance.  The mention of payment gets Serrano’s attention and he goes to close the office door.  Serrano wants to know how much they’re talking about.

Lola arrives at the hospital to see Aldonza and Adelina and learns Padre’s condition is still grave and he remains in a coma.  The wait is killing Aldonza but she won’t leave the hospital.   Tia Adelina finally convinces her to go home and rest;  she will stay and leave when Aldonza comes back.  Lola and Aldonza leave.

Pru, reading a book on her bed recalls when she hid Tomas in her bedroom the previous night.  In her flashback we see him pocket the watch as she enters the bedroom, but I’m not sure Pru saw him.  Pru calls him.  He’s in a bar.  She very directly asks if he took her husband’s watch.  It is very special; she bought it for their anniversary.  Tomas expertly throws Pru on the defensive:  How can she even ask such a thing; how can she accuse him of something so low; she’s always going to look down on him because he’s the son of a mechanic.  Oh, he lays it on thick and she wades right into it!  His only offense was to love her, blah, blah, blah.  Pru stutters and apologizes.  He tells her they’re through, she’s never going to hear from him again and don’t look for him!  He hangs up on her.  Tomas and his friend bump fists and laugh gleefully at his acting skills.  Pru frets:  oh, what has she done!

Emanuel runs into Mari in the plaza.  He’s in town on an errand and informs her of the accident Padre J had.  In the background we see Lola and Aldonza walking toward the two.  So does Eman.  He Takes Mari’s hand, talking to her and smiling sweetly.   They chatter and Eman raises Mari’s hand to his lips.  Lola sees them, Aldonza tries to distract her to no avail.  In the foreground Eman takes a lick of Mari’s ice-cream while in the background Aldonza holds a teary Lola.

Back in the D.F. it looks as if Serrano has had a change of heart.  And he has.  The trouble is, it’s Sev who changed it.  He’ll give Renato a second chance IF he will drop the Aldonza Alcocer case.  Renato adamantly refuses.  To Serrano’s question of why it is so important, Renato answers it’s personal; he is in love with Aldonza.  Serrano is not a sentimental man.  Ok, then if Renato won’t drop the case, he’s fired along with Sylvia and Pato!

Oh boy, it’s late in the morning and we don’t have an update on our beloved Padre J.  Adelina asks a Nurse for Dr. Zapata and if she can see Padre.  Once again the action is in the background as we see Cande briefly stop at the Nurses’s station and then head down the hallway.  Adelina does not see Cande, nor does the Nurse she is talking to who asks Adelina to complete some necessary paperwork on Padre.  Cande slips into Padre’s room.  Distressed and her face softened by tears, Cande rushes to Padre’s bedside, whispering insistently that he HAS to get better, “You will see, God will not abandon you and neither will I.”   Cande leans down and tenderly presses her lips to Padre’s and lingers there when – OH SNIPPETY SNAP – BUS-TED!  Adelina comes into the room!  Cande gasps and stands up, wiping tears and staring guiltily into Adelina’s unwavering eyes, her gaze intensified by the mask which covers her face.

Renato meanwhile argues mightily against his boss’s unjust decision:  Pato and Sylvia shouldn’t have to pay for what he did!  Serrano invites him again to drop the Alcocer case.  Renato refuses.   Serrano tells him then their firing is Renato’s decision and calls for Sylvia and Pato.  “This is on your conscience, not mine!” Serrano barks!

Adelina confronts Cande.  Even though she asks what Cande is doing there, Adelina lets her know she knows perfectly well what she saw!  “He’s a Priest and he deserves respect!!”  All Cande can manage is a weak “you don’t understand anything.”  Adelina agrees with this.  Hum and a nurse enter and gape at Cande.  Hum says only one person can be in the room at once.  Cande scurries out like a roach when the lights are turned on, begging pardon as she goes.    Hum wonders why Cande was so frazzled.  Adelina very charitably says that it must have affected her to see Padre so bad, so defenseless.  Hum agrees, Cande has always cared for him very much.  Adelina answers that, yes, that’s more than clear and she takes her leave.  Wait.  What’s this?  The Nurse touches Padre’s forehead and  announces his temperature is rising!  She had just checked his vitals less than an hour ago and he was fine!

Eman and Mari continue their stroll, Eman’s arm lightly draped over Mari’s shoulder.  Mari wants him to be honest with her.  She knows he’s only cozying up to her to make Lola jealous because he knows she has a new beau from the Capital.  Eman tries to deny it but finally admits it.  Mari jumps to pissed and Eman apologizes; she doesn’t deserve this, she’s a great woman.  He tries to leave, she calls him back and agrees to help him because she just wants him to be happy.  She agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend but he shouldn’t try to take advantage of it.  This will help get Lola closer to him and her father will never know their “relationship” is pure theatrics.  But he will be hands off with her!

Over at Aldonza’s, Lola sits on her bed, crying and remembering the scene in the square.  Aldonza comes out in towel and robe to comfort her.    She encourages Lola to talk to Eman and give him a chance.  Lola says no, if he wants Mari, may God bless them and let them be happy and have children, grandchildren and cats and dogs and everything.  Aldonza reminds Lola that  Pato doesn’t deserve her to play with him.  Lola agrees that Pato is lindo, inside and out.   She decides to give him a real chance and see what happens.  Okay, Aldonza says, and cautions Lola to be careful.

Aldonza sits at her dressing table and looks at the escapulario.  Lola asks if she’s ok.  She is, but so worried about the possibility of losing her Tio.  Now Lola comforts her, assuring her that he will get better and God will heal him.  Huggies and bonding.

In Serrano’s office, Renato fights valiantly for his friends.  Serrano tells them they are at fault for mixing friendship with work.  Renato tells Serrano what he is doing is not only unjust but letting them go without severance is illegal!  Serrano continues his broken record of this wouldn’t happen if he would let go of the Alcocer case.  Renato gets physically angry, and is about to charge Serrano!   Pato hustles him out!

Diva wondered yesterday if there were lightbulbs in Uriel and Irma’s future.  Nope, if there were, they’ve blown already or were very low wattage.  In the matter of the missing money, they think they were hasty and judged Abelardo with no evidence.  Uriel should talk to him and apologize.  The two have been walking, Irma stops at their house.  Maybe Paty  (bank employee) found the money Irma offers cheerfully.  Irma goes into their house, Uriel on to the bank.

Sev enters his study to find Cris sitting at the desk.  Sev thought he would be at the hospital.  No,   Aldonza asked them to leave.  Sev says he heard that Aldonza accused him of provoking the accident.  Cris says she did and with strong conviction.  Well, that’s what people do when they don’t have proof.  It’s all theatrics.  Cris answers that it doesn’t add up that Aldonza would make up something so serious.  Sev answers that Aldonza's mother did the same thing after the fire in the huerto.   Cris asks if it is true that he threatened Padre before the accident.  Without denying it, Sev smoothly launches  an attack on Aldonza:  She is so crazy she will invent anything.  The only thing she wants is to divide and conquer us and get our land!  She’ll do anything to get her way.  Sev leaves.  Cris sits down and looks pained and confused.

Amidst he wreckage of her office, Sylvia and Pato argue over what has happened.  She cries that she has so many bills!  Renato enters and wants to talk to Sylvia, she puts him out. She throws her things in a box.  Renato leaves.

Abelardo learns from Serrano that Renato didn’t take the bait.  He calls Sev to inform him.  Sev assures Lardo things will work out in their favor:  they've been handed lemons, so they'll make lemonade.  He’s got a very delicate job for Lardo and will pay him well.

Renato debriefs with his Father.  What his Father feared came to pass:  he DID lose his job and Sylvia and Pato were fired as well.  Renato calls himself an imbecile but in his defense said he had his cases covered every day and what Serrano did was unjust.   Now Sylvia is pissed at him.  His Father counsels Renato to let Sylvia get over her anger and then see her tomorrow and recoup her friendship.  She’s a good girl, he shouldn’t let her go.

Irma is tending the store when Sim/Viv stops by looking for Lola.  Lola is with a friend at the hospital.  Irma is polite but stern as she asks how Sim/Viv knows her.  Oh, it was destiny.  We’ve got good chemistry together, Sim/Viv says.  Irma lets her know that Lola is a good girl and very loved.  Sim/Viv either doesn’t pick up on or ignores the chill from Irma (probably the latter) and leaves.

Dominga finds Cande in her bedroom and asks how was Padre J.  Cande answers he is the same,  still in a coma.  Dominga knows something more is wrong with Cande and insists she tell her.  Cande confesses she did something she shouldn’t have.  She couldn’t help herself, she was with him and. . .and. . .she kissed him!  Dominga forcefully crosses herself and cries, he's not just some common, ordinary man; he’s a Priest!  Cande sobs, “I know.  I know.  I couldn’t help myself, it was much stronger than me!”  Dominga softens a little and asks Cande to forgive her, who is she to judge.  Then Cande drops the other shoe.  “Adelina saw me.  Do you think she’ll say anything?”  Cande thinks not, Adelina is not a big mouthed gossip like her comadre, Pru.

Aldonza goes about her business in town while Sev sits in his mega SUV watching her.

In the D.F., Lardo is about to carry out Sev’s orders.  He waits outside the security gate that surrounds her building with a small suitcase in tow.  As easy as pie he gets in as an older gentleman is leaving.  Meanwhile, Sev has gotten out of his SUV to confront Aldonza.  His words drip with sarcasm as he continuously looks her up and down, his eyes slowing to appreciate that line, this curve, he leers and even his breathing is suggestive.  She hisses at him that her Tio is hovering between life and death and he’s going to pay with prison!  She doesn’t have proof and further, SHE can end up in prison for slandering him.  Oh, and she might want to get another lawyer because her little friend has been fired by his law firm, because of her.  Her friends need to be careful around her because apparently she doesn’t care what happens to anyone as long as she gets her way.  Aldonza is cara de impactada!  She doesn’t believe him.  He challenges her to call him.  How does he know?  He’s got eyes everywhere he says as he sweeps her body again and then looks into her eyes.  He tells her she may surround herself by people who are at her beck and call and do her bidding but he’s going to make her kiss the ground he walks on.  He looks at her lips.  She is going to rue the day she ever challenged him and this is only the beginning of the hell he has in store for her!  He salutes her with a kiss to his fingers.  She calls him gross and miserable as he walks away.

Lardo is now inside Roberta and Aldonza’s beautiful apartment .  He opens the small suitcase and takes out about a huge jug of . . .well, it sure ain't lemonde. . .and douses it everywhere!  Lardo takes out a match, strikes it and has an intimate moment with it, declaring this is what Aldonza gets for not wanting to be his friend.  He flings the match and runs out as the flames leap to consume the spilled gasoline.  Smoke rises in front of a picture of Adelina holding the infant Aldonza.

Hey guys, wanted to give you something to chew on. I still have to complete the final scene and didn't want to hold the whole thing up while I worked on it. Also a little tweaking to do. Be back later.

Have at it!

Okay, done! See y'all in the morning!

Lila, you done gone and done it again!

"Hum intervenes and rescues Juanita from Pru’s hypocritical claws"

"this girl lies as easily as she breathes"

"Lardo takes out a match, strikes it and has an intimate moment with it"

Come on PJ wake up the suspense is killing me.

Renato's daddy's wealth has allowed him opportunity to play lose and fast and doesn't have to learn a thing, for he loses nothing. I hope Sylvia and Pato learn a lesson here and be careful their association.

Renato - just because you're entitled doesn't mean you're entitled

PJ - yummy, Cande lip gloss

Dominga - well, is he a heavenly kisser

Tomas - bark, sit, roll over, lick my ass, stupid dog

Emmanuel - rookie

Abelardo - where's there's smoke there's Abelardo

Cande - I invoke the, it's not adultery if they're unconscious, clause

Sev - I'm astounded I had to force myself on the girl

Hi, Lila. Great job! Love your take on things.

Renato's boss tells him lots of people would like to have the opportunity to work in such a prestigious law firm, but then is open to taking a bribe from Lardo. I think the three friends would do themselves a favor by starting their own law practice.

BUT...Silvia said she'd always be there for Renato, but when she gets fired too, she wants nothing to do with him? Not much depth to that sentiment.

Pru fires Juana, but Hum saves her job? If I were Juana I would not want to work in that environment. I would leave.

I love Pru's name. Being prudent is defined as "wise in handling practical matters; exercising good judgment or common sense," which is the opposite of her personality.

When Lardo burned the apartment I wish he would have splashed some of the gas on himself and gone up like that Vietnamese monk who publicly self immolated in the early 60's.

Sev continues to be a deliciously wicked influence on everything, and the weight of his anvil is increasing with each passing minute.

David

Lila this was absolutely spectacular. I can't possible list all the fabulous imagery you wrote today, every paragraph had a gem, some down right poetic. Many thanks!

Boy, maybe someday the Scooby gang will be glad they were fired from that shyster's law firm. If they don't have a non-compete clause in their contracts, doing pro-bono on the side isn't illegal, even in Mexico I understand. My guess he's more pissed it was pro-bono and as Doris said, he wants them billable only for his pocket book.

Little worried now about Sivia--if she's hurting with big bills (probably school loans), sounds like she will be a perfect target for Sev and moving to the dark side.

Cande is one messed up lady, but I"m starting to think there is a much deeper back story to her and Padre. Dom seemed aghast she kissed him as a priest, but was also very understanding, like she knew something.

Lola drove me batty last night. I'm having a harder and harder time tolerating her impatience with E-man and having the nerve to get all weepy when he pulls on her what she pulled on him. Reap what you sow.

Anyone creeped put when Cris, sitting in his father's chair, picked up the lighter and starting flicking it like Sev always does? That gave me chills for some reason.

Ok, Allie, you and everyone you hold dear has been threatened. Is this whole vengeance thing still worth it. You see what the man is capable of, and soon will with the apt. gone (nice touch showing the elderly man walking out who will now lose his home too? And not a blink of an eye from scum bag).

Oh and Allie, every cell phone has an app that can record a scene and/or pick up voices. Start using it...just sayin'.

Daisynjay

Wonderful, Lila. You masterfully conveyed all the tense emotions this episode.

I think it's no mistake that the episode starts and ends with people (Adelina and Sever) asking Aldonza if her return and vengeance is worth it. Is she happy? No. Are people she cares about getting hurt? Yes. Aldonza has a lot to think about.

I think Silvia will cool down, but it doesn't change the fact that she has real bills that Renato, and maybe Pato too, don't have to think about. I think their own law firm would be a great idea. And agree that in the long run they are better off not working for such a dishonest boss. But in the short term, Silvia is the one getting screwed.

Good Morning Y'all!

How are y'all doing this morning! Did not see that kiss coming. Oooooh, Cande's got it baaaaad! Literally, Lord Have Mercy!

First of all, thank you Tofie, glad to earn the admiration of a wordsmith and spinmeister such as yourself. All your lines are spot on and FUN-nay! Love Dominga's! Poor thing, she couldn't cross herself fast enough when Cande confessed to her! Being busted by Adelina should take some of the fire and ice out of Cande's encounters with the Aldonza and Adelina, don't you think? She knocked herself off her high horse. Ooooo, Cande, you and Pru giving in to such base desires without regard for their impact on others: Shame on you!

Thank you, David, and agree I wouldn't want to work in Pru's household either. Yes, her name is exactly opposite of her personality and we haven't seen her hit bottom yet!

Also agree, David, that Serrano is a hypocrite. He may well have done them a favor!

And I'm also amazed at all these telenovela pyromaniacs that haphazardly splash gasoline all over the place and NEVER get a drop on themselves. David, you may have whispered an anvil for Lardo. This could be how he goes out.

And Sev? Gosh, that last scene with Aldonza left ME wanting to take a shower, I can only imagine how he must feel. He ALWAYS visually assaults her! I have to give it to Aldonza that she could stand there and actually talk to him and listen to his vile, lewdly uttered threats. YUCK!! Can't think of an anvil horrible enough for him!

Daisynjay! Hey, Girl! Thank you! Oh my! I hadn't thought about Sylvia going to the dark side! She IS ripe for the pickin', isn't she! She has no job and she's certainly going to hate Aldonza after this! YIKES!

Cande does have issue, Daisy, wow! She IS a messed up lady, but can you imagine what she'd be like without Dominga? There is a story there and I hope we get more.

Lola, silly-assed girl! Eman shouted to the four winds that he loved you, Idiota! I'm about ready to ignore her scenes except on recap day. Sheesh!

I could just quote your last two paragraphs in full, Daisynjay! The writers want us to hold this venganza/justice sacred but it's just making Aldonza look selfish, obsessed and whacked out. She is waaaay out of her league! Sev said that her friends need to watch out because nothing matters when she wants to have her way. It's bad when Sev speaks the truth about ya!

Vivi! Good morning! Thank you! Aldonza DOES have a lot to think about! I think we're all on the same page with that! What will it take to wake her up!? Aldonza not only appears obsessed, but heartless! Wake up Padre, your neice needs counseling and Divine Illumination!

Hey, all, I hope you have a good time discussing this episode. I so look forward to everyone's take on yesterday's action. I will be in and out today and tomorrow but this ain't about me, it's about all of us having a good time on the patio analyzing, criticizing, predicting and laughing at our friends in Santa Lucia!

Thank you all in advance and see ya later!

*how she must feel.

Wow, what an episode. Thanks Lila.

Why would any of them want to work for a law firm that would have no problem doing illegal and unethical things any way? And what will that firm do now being short 3 lawyers with the work they still have?

Aldonza needs to step up her game.

What do you all think Aldonza should do?

Stand down? And let Sever win?

Continue with her vengeance in a different way? Wouldn't that continue to put people in danger?

Lila, I am in the middle of planning a class reunion and a trip to Disney World, correcting tests and speeches, and doing laundry and dishes, and cleaning, but I bad to take the time to read your recap. Excellent and exciting . I only saw bits and pieces last night. Thanks, Amiga.

Tofie..you crazy girl. Thanks for the breakfast giggles. I especially enjoyed Lardo and PJ.

I think she should start having a relationship with Cris right out in the open. Turn him against his parents. That is the best revenge she could ever do.

Vivi..After dealing with some not so nice people and situations and betrayals over the years, I firmly believe in that saying..''a happy life is the best revenge.'' Revenge and hate poisons you more than it hurts the other person. i did not want to waste my life seeking revenge on people who hurt me and my family. Al's plans are only hurting her and those around her...so scary. However, It is frustrating to see bad guys win. Different people know about Severed 's different sins and crimes. The puzzle pieces have to be put together, and Hum is the player who knows the most. Hmmmmm...something has to happen to really turn Hum against Sev. Maybe Candy will go ballistic when she finds out that Sev caused PJ's accident, but Hum has to let her know about Padre Sixto and Sev's other dark deeds.

cathyx, your tactic I believe would work. Run the relationship right down Sev's throat

Hey, susanlynn, my high school class is planning a reunion too. Our 50th!

Also, I mostly agree with your life plan regarding hatred, revenge, etc. If the other guy wants to roll around in the pig sty and get himself covered in nasty stuff, well, that's it's own reward, isn't it? However, there are times when the situation has spun so out of control that returning fire is the only sane thing to do.

David

The many different opinions on what Al should do shows that there isn't really one clear path she should take.

Sever and Cande want her to: 1) disappear, 2) stay away from Cris, 3) stay off of El Santuario. Anything less than these three things, and they will continue to make her and her loved one's lives hell. Should she really let herself be terrorized into living her life their dictates, or as David says, fight fire with fire?

Certainly, living well and happily is the best revenge. But if Aldonza's happiness is being with Cris and farming her father's land, in the town where she was born and raised, then just trying to do that is going to put her and her people in the line of fire.

Missed a word: Living her life by their dictates.

For me, I can see better approach for Allie being in quiet but determined compromise. Feels like she is trying too much too fast and being loud and aggressive about it.
By TN rules, we only have a limited timeline I guess, but
sticking it slower to Sev would have been a much cleverer plan. Rent the place, fix it up, start becoming a welcoming member of the community. We still don't know her overall plan, but if she was going to do something that gave jobs to the town, woooo, long way to winning folks over and when you DO start to stick it to Sev, you have the community on your side. Make it harder for him to connect you to Roberta in personality.

Like I said, this is the 21st century. When he threatens, put that stupid cell phone on record. Put security cameras on the property.

To come back with guns blazing just seem to me to invite the trouble she is getting. And Sev is a savvy overlord...he knows the best way to get back at someone is to not hurt them, but to hurt what they care about. I still hate to think who all has to get hurt over this "revenge".Even if she "wins" in the end, if she lost people over it, how do you live with that remembrance?

Daisynjay

If they can't figure out that the apartment fire was intentionally set, then I'll be very disappointed. Couple that with the shots fired at her house, the next step is to see who in the world would want to do damage to her. There is only one person who very clearly wants to see her go down and the court of public opinion and common sense should be enough to sway Cris.

Fabulous Lila---Cande scurries out like a roach when the lights are turned on---and, it sure isn't lemonade were great lines. Two among many.

I HATE IT---I JUST HATE IT when the bad guys are winning. Aldonza almost out of money and her apartment going up in flames. What can she do now? Like David, I was hoping that Lardo would perish in the fire but no. DAMN!!!

Must see tv.
the gringo

In another life was padre J hot for cande, and she for him, but he decided to go the church route? Or was it robbie's husband she wanted? What is it with this lady, she is so miserable. Why doesn't she just devorce that anvil around her neck (sev). I guess she's afraid if she did, all that upstanding in community will go too. what good is it if she is driving herself insane trying to keep up appearances, so everyone else would think highly of her in her big yellow unhappy house. Poor chris, he's stuck between ally and his anoiying parents. I can't stand sev, he is so slimmy. If they were to kill him off before the show was over I wouldn,t mine at all. I was kinda glad when they let roberta go she was bringing her daughter down. And she had enough to deal with without people saying she's like her mother. Ok, I've said enough. THANK GOD FOR HAPPY,HAPPY,HAPPY ENDINGS. The weather is about to get bad in north florida. Ya'll have safe dry weekend.

Nina

P.S. please exscuse the spelling it's the weekend and I know that's not a good reason but I'm at work. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

There had also better be insurance on her apartment. But I'm willing to bet there won't be.

hey Susanlynn wouldn't it be great if somebody was in that church and they recorded sev killing padre sixto, that somebody texted that to Allie's phone. I mean really how much heartache is this girl expected to go through her mother killed her father to protect that son of a bitch sev, she's attacked in church at her mother's memorial, they shooter her house up while her aunt and uncle are inside, and then that jackass decides to set her apartment on fire just because she wouldn't be his friend? who the hell wants to be his friend, he's a freaking maniac. I think the powers that be(writers/directors) should step in and give her some help. its like every episode the bad guys winning. usually seems that way and then one day "BOOM", bad guys get they'ers. but that's going to take a while. so in the meantime we watch her get stomped on. Bummer!

Nina

just make sure you don't get burned when you return that fire David. that can very easily happen when you let revenge control you. It keeps you from thinking clearly. And when its done you got a whole new set of problems.

Nina

correcting mistake above: shoot her house up..........

Nina

you gotta remember chris loves his mommy and daddy, he can't possibly believe they'd do something so horrible. when is he going to stop being so dence about his parents? they're not perfect people, with all the accusations when is he going to smarten up? I am so opinionated this weekend, I don't know what it is, maybe it's the bad weather.

Nina :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Nina- Actually Sever and Cande were having quite a few setbacks since Al's return. And she had a streak of victories. Let's list them:

Al convinced Hum to rent her the house/land for a year.

Hum started pushing back on giving Santuario to Sever.

Al stabbed Sever and got away with it.

Cris dumped Vale and called the wedding off (which also affects Sever getting the land because that was Hum's condition).

Al foiled Sever's plan to install Simona in Santuario.

The last straw was Al legally demanding that Sever get the animals off "her" land.

The problem with fighting an enemy like Sever is that no matter what weapon you bring into that fight, he's going to pull out a weapon ten times more deadly.

And let's not put the full blame on Aldonza for Padre's near death. Most of the reason Sever went after him is to keep him quiet about the missing child.

Only one person has made accusations against Sever and Cande to Cris. Everyone he's asked has said his parents are good people. He knows they aren't perfect. He thinks they're in a screwed up marriage, should get divorced, and that they're control freaks. But no, he does not believe they are evil criminals, which they are. But I don't find that hard to believe that his kind can't make that jump with no real evidence.

His mind can't make the jump...

Lila - Thank you for the recap!

I haven't had time to watch my recording but can not wait(!!!) to see the Padre J/Cande beso. Yikes! (Did Cande read The Thorn Birds?) It's a wonder one of them did not burst into flames! Although the rise in Jeronimo's temperature might be a result . . .

If fire in Aldonza's apartment is deemed arson, it won't matter if there is insurance because it will not pay out on arson.

I can't wait to see what the future holds for 'Lardo, anvil-wise.

I don't know what kind of evidence it's going to take for Chris to see what kind of parents he has, but when he gets it, it's going to blow that little town off the map. I wonder who else has he raped, this man is really sick and twisted, I don't see how cande can let him touch her knowing that he's been all over the map with whatever kind of woman that was willing to let him in, and there's plenty out there. I hope she demanded he use a condom. Yuck!!!!!!!!

Nina

Ah, but Father Ralph truly did love Meggie in the Thorn Birds and fell for her when he was already a priest. He fought his feelings noticeably for years before caving. I'm not necessarily seeing that from Padre J - if anything he seems to be disappointed in the person Cande has become. Now that said, doesn't dismiss there may have been a little something before he went off to the priesthood.

Hey Nina-- you know what??Interesting point on if Cande and Sev. Maybe ity shows how desperate she was for a sign of his affection.

Gees, Doris, I didn't know that on the arson and insurance. Being a large building that would seem unfair to tenants NOT where the fire was started. But you all are right-betcha there is no insurance, but wouldn't it be cool if there was and they got some needed funds from the fire vs. selling. Love to see Lardo and Sev's faces then.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay........can I set at your table and discuss Padre J and Cande? I too think there was a little something-something going on between them prior to priesthood.

He is much too flustered when she is around. Although I can see why just having her show up as an over amorous parish lady would rattle him.

Maybe PJ is flustered now because if he knew all those years ago that Cande had a thing for him he wouldn't have gone into the priesthood.

wouldn't it be interesting if she got pregnant before she found out he wanted to be a priest ,and she didn't tell him anything, and she gave a child up for adoption and decided to start her life over with sev, that's when all her bitterness started. and Marrying him just added to all the frustration. I'm just guessing, but the possibilities are endless as to the reasons why she's so emotionally miserable. And can't keep her lips off of the,(Padre of her dreams). Hahahaha!!!!

Nina

Well, I am sitting here in the parking lot trying to decide if I should join the patio regulars.

I just know you are going to throw rotten melon when I bring my candy house theory to the table.

I think PJ put the ring in the house for Cande for Christmas (it looks like a gingerbread house)which was to be followed by a formal proposal. Somehow our "One Armed Wonder" intercepted the house and pobre PJ thought he had been rejected by Cande. He then joined the seminary leaving Cande bewildered and Sev salivating in the wings ready to take PJ place.

I hope I am wrong!

I also think Roberta's husband wacked Sev's wrong limb.

I can hardly wait for the alligators to arrive for Sev. It will be fun watching him grabbing one of those guy with one arm.

The recappers are doing a terrific job with this TN and I thank you. I try to catch up on the weekends with all the doings on the patio. This has been one of the best TN I have seen in along time.

Rosemary Primera

Rosemary, if I'm not mistaken, there was an unknown man who put the ring in the candy house. Not the Padre.

I wanted to break my tv last night when Severino was shaking his finger in Aldonza's face. He is so disgusting. Lardo too.
the gringo

Cathyx, Maybe the unknown man was the candy house maker. PJ was so perplexed when Cande had her meltdown - there must be a reason.

Rosemary Primera

Gringo,

Maybe the alligators will get that finger first.

Lardo is truly disgusting. There is going to be a time when he will not be able to talk his way out of one of his screw ups.

He and Val deserve each other!

Rosemary Primera

Hey, Peeps! Busy day for me, like for many of you, I'm sure. Sorry to have missed out on the discussions going on today.

Thank you so much to Cathyx, Susanlynn, Gringo, and Doris! Thanks for joining us, Nina, Emeraldrose and a Welcome to Rosemary Primera! Please keep hanging out with us!

I like this, Vivi:

Certainly, living well and happily is the best revenge. But if Aldonza's happiness is being with Cris and farming her father's land, in the town where she was born and raised, then just trying to do that is going to put her and her people in the line of fire.

And this, Daisynjay:

For me, I can see better approach for Allie being in quiet but determined compromise. Feels like she is trying too much too fast and being loud and aggressive about it. . .Rent the place, fix it up, start becoming a welcoming member of the community. . . .I still hate to think who all has to get hurt over this "revenge".Even if she "wins" in the end, if she lost people over it, how do you live with that remembrance?

And this, Cathyx:

If they can't figure out that the apartment fire was intentionally set, then I'll be very disappointed. Couple that with the shots fired at her house, the next step is to see who in the world would want to do damage to her. There is only one person who very clearly wants to see her go down and the court of public opinion and common sense should be enough to sway Cris.

I also like Vivi's listing of setbacks for Sev and Cande. Helps keep things in perspective. Aldonza is getting hit hard but it isn't all win-win for team Mendoza.

As I proposed in the recap, even though I didn't call it that, it is a setback for the self-righteous arrogance of Cande to have been caught almost molesting a comatose Padre by Adelina, against whom Cande has mounted a vicious rumor assault. This is huge. Of course, Adelina is not like Cande or Pru: she won't go smearing it all over town but Cande's knowing that Adelina caught her will dog Cande's conscience and give Adelina some spine. It's a psychological victory. Cande is slipping and now Adelina knows it.

I wonder if Adelina will tell Padre what Cande did. I know there are more important matters, like making sure he is okay, rehabilitation and what have you and, of course, what he remembers of the accident, but I still wonder if Adelina will mention it somewhere down the line. I wonder if Padre will remember it! There are dramatic true stories of people in comas revealing that they were aware of everything around them! (That's somewhat simplified but we're just lightly chatting here on the patio, aren't we?)

Anyhoo. Just my take so far!

I like everybody's take including mine, you guys are very interesting. I like hearing what everybody has to say, everybody's thoughts.
They'er very funny some of them, especially when you think how serious these characters are. I'm looking forward to future recaps and comments. thanks a bunch guys. You give me something to look forward to next week.

Nina-:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hey, Nina. Now you've got another patio to hang in since QA only has a couple more weeks -- *sniff* -- We ARE having a good time with this show.

Hope you're having fun with your Offspring, Sara and Diva, I hope your chorale performance is everything you want it to be and more! A three year old great niece and a few other family members had a dance recital today. It was my great niece's debut recital. She is tiny, even for a 3 year old. She had a number where there we 3 itsy bitsy couples, boy in tiny tux and girl in frilly tutu. It was so sweet I laughed with joy and cried at the same time!

:D

well I'm going to miss QA, but these people are so crazy on la sombra. going to be interesting to see how they turn out with all they're crazy twists and turns. O well it's after midnight people bedtime.now enjoy the rest of your weekend, I hope it's a dry one.

NINA °~ °

Hi all! Making my way to the patio late, but finally got a chance to watch the episode, so I wanted to comment.

Lila - fab recap! Your asides were so appropriate:
[Takes one to know one?]...Oh, this girl lies as easily as she breathes...Oh, he lays it on thick and she wades right into it!....well, it sure ain't lemonde

I really loved your description of Cande's visit to PJ's sickbed. Beautifully done and hilariously ended. You deftly navigated the emotions of both character and audience right there and I totally lol'd at OH SNIPPETY SNAP!

Renato should try to appeal to the other senior lawyers, not for his job, but for Pato and Silvia. And then he should give up Aldonza's case. She can hire another lawyer more easily than he can get another job, especially having been fired the way he has.

Tofie- hahahaha! Especially Emmanuel's and Abelardo's!
Vivi- thanks for your list to! Lila's right - keeps things in perspective. Though it also drives home that, aside from Cris' very public, very cancelled wedding, the "good guys" are gaining much traction, just kicking up a whole lot of dirt. You asked what Aldonza should do instead? I think she's doing th ebest she can, butI'm with Doris: she needs to be quieter about this. It would've been better/hilarious if she had done all of this anonymously from DF, but moving forward, she's got to back down and work on the DL because now everyone's on the defensive.

Happy Sunday mornin' all. Giggling over the comments...heck, who cares about the endless 95% A/C angst and Lola hissing a fit...hottest couple to talk about right now if a priest and a tighter than tight town matriarch. Delicious!!

Emeraldrose, happy to sit together and chat us up some on all the possibilities for these two. For a break, we still have dart practice at the Val/Lardo dart boards.

Lila, as much as I admire Ade for the sacrifices she's made and the support she gives Allie, I can see her getting all worked up as she can do and tell Jeronimo all about the scandalous smooch. Then let's see what he does...

Daisynjay

Good Morning, Y'all!

Thank you Dear HellaShelle! Never to late to stop in to the patio. With the weather finally being springlike (though it snowed here in parts of Michigan Wednesday) and all the spring time activities comimg up -- reunions, weddings, graduations, and yes, cleaning -- I know we are all very busy so everyone is welcome when ever they can pop in!

I like your idea about Renato appealing to the other sensior lawyers on behalf of Pato and Sylvia but I'm sure by the time Renato gets to them, the hypocritical and ethically compromised Serrano, head honcho, will have gotten to them first and forbid them to consider it. Or, he would tell them HE's in charge of the "Reanato negotiations" and insist on his palm being greased. And, HellaShelle, you KNOW Renato is not going to turn his back on Aldonza!

Mornin' Daisy! I LOVE THIS! . . .hottest couple to talk about right now if a priest and a tighter than tight town matriarch. Delicious!! Yes! Aldonza doesn't know about it yet, but this is a victory for team Aldonza. So Daisy, you think Ade will tell PadreJ? If she doesn't, I'm pretty sure she will tell Aldonza and Aldonza won't be so tight lipped about it as her Tia Adelina!! Aldonza will probably tell Padre, Cris, and the Mendozas to their faces!

I purposely didn't make a little aside about the Padre's temperature rising precipitously right after the scandalous smooch, it was more powerful on its on, left the viewers imagination!

. . .left to the viewer's imagination AND interpretation!

Rosemary....Please join the patio bunch. We share a name (almost, I am Rose Marie) Also share some thoughts on La Sombra.

I thought about the priest temperature going up after she laid a smooch on him. I wonder if he's fighting the feeling, he is flesh and blood. no fair cande the man is laying on his back in a coma, keep your tongue in your mouth. I don't think it was that kind of kiss, but that don't mean she wasn't thinking about. "SMOOCHITY SMOOCHITY", LOL!
down here in sunny florida, beautiful sunny day. Some temperatures in the lower nintys, some in the upper 80's. you guys are fun to talk to, love your comments keep them coming. :-)

Nina

Yeah Lila,if PJ takes a while to awaken, I'm sure Ade will tell Allie. And as she is lately to do, she will hurl the accusation at Sev or Cris to unnerve them. Just once, I hope she doesn't, realizing any gossip like that in that town will wind up hurting her poor uncle just as much. Sometimes I want to just look at her and say " BREATHE girl. Count to ten, now you can proceed."

Hey Rosemary! I agree Lardo is disgusting and though we see him think he has one over on Sev, I think he is Sev's sacrificial lamb to do all his dirty deeds and then Sev can shrug and say, "wasn't me". Now the brakes was a different story, but no way that one can be proved it was Sev. (Security cameras people!!) It still makes me chuckle that the doc office break-in was not a police issue--Lardo had his fingerprints everywhere. That's what happens when one of your characters isn't with the police. I keep wanting Armand Araiza(aka Brandon in Llena) to pop into the plot and haul Lardo's sorry butt into the slammer.

Daisynjay

lardo is going to do a lot more damage before the show is over, so we can just look forward to him slimming his way through the whole show until that time comes.

Nina

Maybe Renato, Silvia and Pato will move to SL and start their own firm. Abogados 'R' Us.

I am so over Lola/Em/Pato. Usually the secondary love story/relationship is the one I'm cheering on in a telenovela because the protagonistas are absurd. At this point, I don't care about any of them. This week, I am going to sit at Padre J's table on The Patio.
And laza nerfazos at all the baddies on this show.

.let's hear it for the good guys, hoohoo!!!!!!

Nina

Rosemary Primera, you're not crazy or not crazy by your lonesome because I too think it could be PJ that put the ring in the house.

The more I ponder the theory that it might have been PJ who had the ring out into the candy house, the more I like it.
- What if it never was delivered, so he thought Cande was rejecting him when he never got an answer?
- So he went into seminary and she married Sev on the rebound.
- thus PJ's shock at C's recent behavior, because he believed, all these years, that she didn't care, and he got over it and moved on. To the priesthood.

I am not giving up my hope that Cris is not Sev's son, either. My fingers are crossed that he is PJ's love child. It sure would make things easier I'd Cris and Allie end up together, as we expect them to.

HOW MANY EPISODES are left before we get the answers? (LOL)

Rosemary Primera, Tofie and Doris, I had not thought much about Padre as the mysterious Candy House Lover. I should go back and look at that episode because I was kind of distracted and it was so weird I didn't pay a lot of attention to it. Doris, I like your further fleshing out of the theory: it makes sense for Padre's reaction. Hmmm. Anybody know what episode that was? I'll look on hulu+ anyway.

Sorry for the typos above. Silly iPad auto correct and silly me for doing a poor job of proofreading. Gah.

Uhm, Cris being Padre's kid would make him and Al first cousins. Nope.

I just rewatched the scene when Lola got the candy house. It's in episode 30. The maker of the house was gifting it to Magda, the shop owner, saying there was a message in it for her and he put the ring in too, but she never opened the house so she never read the message or saw the ring. The maker left town and she never saw him again. I guess he felt like she spurned him. So the ring would not be from PJ to Cande.

Thanks, Cathyx for the episode #!

I'm glad you cleared that up about the candy box and Padre putting a ring in there for her because isn't Padre alleys uncle? wouldn't that make her and Chris cousins? incest anybody. of course cousins do marry but oh my gosh that is too closely related. If he is her uncle is he her mother's brother or her father's brother? Oh people, these family affairs are mind-boggling. Or is he a close family friend that she grew up calling uncle Jeronimo?

Nina

Well dodo. I want some PJ & Cande romantic history and Cathyx cleared the Hard Candy House story up for us.

We already got Cris and Val as kissing cousins don't want Cris and Aldonza too..

PJ is Aldonza's fathers, brother. Adelina is Aldonza's mothers, sister.

I'm sitting at the Padre didn't have a clue table. Cande strikes me as someone who always repressed herself. Now she wants to blame everyone and everything but herself.

Sara- I'm with you at that table.

Val and Cris are distant cousins, and that's bad enough. We don't need to get into first cousin incest.

Vivi - We might need to hide our faces behind menus, though.

OT- so I stumbled onto the 1972 Colombian version of Maria on YouTube today. Tyrone Powers's daughter stars as Maria and according to wiki the actress who plays La Chilindrina was her voice. (I think the sound track was added after filming. I guess dubbed is the word, but they were clearly speaking Spanish.) Pretty music.

The Cris as PJ's son could work...if Al were really Sev's daughter. But that would mean she'd been raped by her father. This would be a completely believable reason for Sev to kill himself, but we hope the writers aren't THAT cruel to Aldonza.

Hola a todos! I just wanted to pop in and wish a Feliz Cumpleaños to Susanlynn and Vivi. (I sure hope I have the day right!)

I haven't had the opportunity or time to do much telenovela watching lately, but a couple of weeks ago we were in a place where I was able to watch La Sombra for about a week on an old Toshiba tube TV with a line running horizontally through the middle of the picture. It was fantastic to get a TN fix after so long, and I loved watching it. It's great to see Pablo Lyle playing a strong role, and fun to see some of my favorite actors again.

Lila, what a terrific recap and a thoroughly enjoyable read. I sure miss hanging out with y'all. Just because I don't comment regularly doesn't mean I don't think about my pals at Caray, Caray!

Cathyx- thanks for going back! For some reason I thought candy lady said the house was for her. The truth makes SO much more sense and leaves the door open to many more possibilities.

I might've be ok with PJ and Cande if Cande hadn't ruined E's life. Her other defaults have been pretty minor - gossip and badmouthing people, being a b**** in general.

I could see it being PJ or even Mel. the only thing that would really surprise me is if it was Sev. Like at one time he knew how to love.

Hi Cap'n Sharkbait! Sounds like a "welcome back" is in order:) I didn't even know it was Susanlynn and Vivi's b-days! Happy Birthday, ladies!

Good Lord! I leave for a few minutes and we've gone incestuous. . .just sort of kidding! ;p

Hey Sara!

Cap'n Sharkbait! Oh, my GOSH! I could cry! I haven't seen you in ages -- I've not been faithfully following a novela until, well, La Maldita ****! Welcome, I hope you do hang out and do more than lurk, Girl! Love to have ya!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSANLYNN AND VIVI!!! And many mooooooore! Best wishes today and all year long!

Lila, I wish I could hang out more, but my current lifestyle of vagabonding through Mexico with no regular internet makes it difficult. However, I have to give HUGE credit to Caray, Caray! for helping me to learn Spanish. Thanks to hanging out with y'all, watching telenovelas, and discussing word-meaning and vocab I have gotten along surprisingly well here. I get to talk to everyone, instead of just the people who speak English.

That's great, Cap'n! I'm so happy for you! You Go, Girl! Enjoy!!! And we're happy to see you when ever you can pop in!

:D

Happy birthday ladies :-)! I'm with you Lila girl, with all the craziness going on we don't need no incest in the pot. bad enough sev raped the girl that his son loves. that's going to be heartbreaking enough for cris when he finds out his father did that. Some people are just lower than bottom of the barrel.

Nina

SusanLynn and Vivi have birthdays today? I just had mine last Thursday. Happy Birthday to all of us!

Feliz cumpleaños susanlynn and Vivi!

And thanx Vivi for reminding me of that first cousin detail. I knew we had abandoned the PJ love child theory but couldn't remember why.

Just goes to show that when I have a theory, y'all can rest easy that it is wrong. LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CATHYX!!!

Heck! Celebrate the whole month and Blessings all year long!

Cap'n- Not only can I not believe you've visited us, but that you remember our birthdays! Thank you! And thanks for all the other well wishes, amigos.

Happy Birthday Cathyx and Susanlynn!!!!

Started the day off with an amazing breakfast at my parents' house, then went shopping, and just finished a delicious early dinner at a friend's house. I should have been suspicious when she said she wanted me to come over at 4. A shocking number of my friends are living or traveling overseas right now, so this friend arranged a happy birthday Skype call with friends in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mexico, and Minnesota. It was midnight for the friend in Ethiopia. Everyone on at once, chatting, catching up, and singing happy birthday. It was awesome. Ok. I have to turn my attention back to my non virtual amigos now. Thanks again everyone!

Happy Happy! (picture me dancing and waving...or maybe better not) Wish you guys the bestest of birthdays!!

Cap-i-tan...Oh my goodness. It has been a long time since we were both commenting on the same TN. So awesome to have you pull up a chair for a while on the patio. Indeed another cause of celebration.

And if Cris gets a clue this week...well, gees we may have to pop a cork of champagne!

Daisynjay

hey lila is there going to be a recap of the april 24th episode of quiero amarte tomorrow, before tomorrow's episode recap?

Nina

Happy Birthday Vivi and Sylvia!

Cathyx, thank you for the episode number for the candy house. I still believe there is more to the house than tell are letting us know.

What in the world made Cande turn to the dark side, other than Sev and his zipper problem? She in a nunnery of her own making, habit and all.

I know of at least two priest that have left their collar behind (with the permission of the pope of course). They both married nuns, if I remember correctly. I don't think PJ will go there, but you never know.

Rosemary Primera

Wow..what a surprise. I finally had a chance to drop by , and I found birthday wishes just after getting a phone birthday greeting from a dear ''old'' high school buddy.
Ahoy, Sylvia. I cannot believe that you remembered my birthday, and I had forgotten that Vivi and I share a birthday. I slept in two days in a row..no 5 am alarm. That was a great birthday perk. I had dinner out today with hub and my bff Carol and her hub and received some lovely gifts including a dozen red and yellow roses and jewelry from hubby.I had phone calls from my daughter and her family in Canada. Last night, hub and I went to a concert. Tomorrow, hub and I will have dinner out with our younger daughter and her two little girls. It has been a nice birthday.

I miss you, Sylvia, and I hope that you are well and happy. Do you hear from Judyb or Carlos ? I miss them , too.
Happy Birthday, fellow Taurus Vivi. It sounds as though you had a happy day.

Thanks to all of you folks on the patio who sent my birthday wishes.

Cathyx...Happy belated birthday.!!

The most complicated family relationship I know of is my best friend's sister's twin sons. One married a young lady named Candy (believe it or not). The other twin son married Candy's mother!!! Candy's children (jokingly) call their Uncle/step grandfather "Uncle Grandpa".

I wouldn't be surprised at any relationship anymore. I can't wait too see how the La Sombra relationships workout.

Nina The Quiero Amarte recap has been up for some time. When we get to over 200 comments, we have to go to the "Post A Comment" page and click "Newest".

To make it easy, click on this and it will take you to the recap that Kelly did for 4-24-15:

https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?postID=8260842362427384847&blogID=25394992&isPopup=false&page=2

SusanLynn and Vivi, I guess we are fellow Tauruses. It sounds like you both had and are still having marvelous birthdays. I like it when mine go on for days.

cathyx, a belated and HEARTY feliz cumpleaños to you too!! I am drinking a cold cerveza right now in honor of your special day.

Vivi and Susanlynn, I'm so happy to hear that your had some fun treats and surprises on your birthdays. Susanlynn, I'm not surprised to hear that you are still enjoying your concerts. Keep the faith, amiga!

Yes, I am well and happy and thanking my lucky stars each and every day making the decisions that led me to where I am. I do, however, very much miss hanging out with all of you on The Patio.

Emeraldrose...really? Because that's a wild tale of twins. I'm still scratching my head over that one. Thanks for sharing.

I should have added the relationship between Candy and. her husband went South, restraining orders, jail etc. I think, the whole thing has unraveled.

thank you lila, I will do that.

Nina

Emeraldrose...yikes!!

So i know its late in the game, but i missed a Few of the early episodes, and i did not know That aldonza had a brother/sister! Were they born before or after Aldonza? And how would Sev know that Aldonza is not his?

Just checking in.

Good to see you again, Cap'n.

Happy Birthday to everyone! (Hubs, Offspring and I ALL celebrate birthday MONTH.)

I know this sounds crazy, but is it possible that the Padre 2.0 maybe Cris's father ?

Just saying.....

That's already been discussed, Steve.

Hi Anon 12:37 - Aldonza's little sibling was born 1+ years after she was. It has not been hinted that Aldonza is Sev's, but we don't have confirmation of this except that Rob never hinted that Aldie was anyone's daughter but Raymundo's.

Lila, I'm soooo late to the party--but want to let you know how much I enjoyed your recap of Friday's episode!
Reading through the comments, just wanted to weigh in on Cande-PJ. Padre looked so truly stunned when Cande "confessed" that she had the hots for him back in the day...he looked thunderstruck. I don't think he was aware of her feelings and so it doesn't make sense that they could've been an item before he entered the priesthood.
(My apols if this subject is already dead....)

J in Oregon

Hey J in O! Thank you, honey! A lot of us were busy with our 3-dimensional peeps this weekend, it happens! And it's never too late to weigh in on the Cande-Padre J. matter. As the stolen kiss attests, this is a serious matter. Even though she's been busted, Cande is not going to renounce this love. I don't think there's any chance it will ever be reciprocated, but then I never thaought a galan's father would rape his son's One True Love!

I just want to see how the stolen kiss will be used: as a silent weapon or exposed and used to openly assault the High and Mighty Cande?

Thanks Lila, lovrd loved loved your recap. It reads beautifully just right amount of snark.

Steve, yes it has been discussed and deep down nobody really wants ir thinks it possible that such a noble young man could have Sev as a biological father. I feel like at this point we are going to have surprises as far as parentage/biological children.

Please forgive me peeps, I just have to say I am so happy for Rulli!*%+¥£€#%> Yes!!!!

Also "estan son las mananitas" serenata for Vivi, Susanlynn and Sara. Muchas felicidades para todos. Many blessings sent your way.

Novella lover! Hey, thank you! Long time since I've been on the patio with you! I am SO glad you're joining us. This is a great show!

Novella lover, why are you happy for Rulli?

Thanks hellashelle!!! I am in the dark no more!!

Gracias, Lila, for the recap! I'm finally getting caught up on everything so I'll be ready to go tonight :D

I have to admit, I LOVE little kid recitals. They're just so happy to be doing what they love! Adults forget how to do that sometimes and get more caught up in what "everyone else" will think.

Nice to see you, Cap'n!

Belated Feliz Cumple to susanlynn and Vivi and cathyx and la familia de Sara :D
