Caray, Caray!

Main points:Lola and Irma tells Aldonza and Adelina Mari’s version of the story with Eman. They don’t believe it. Eman gets sloshed. The cops go to Joaquin looking for Flavia in connection with Adriano for Lardo’s murder. Sev tells Cris about Cande and PJ, but Cris doesn’t really care. Mari has regrets about what she did, but Val reinforces her evil ways. Silvia’s left SL! Cande tells Cris that Aldie and Renato kissed.

Fuller summary: Sev’s intense grossness is repeated, but apparently it’s just a power play for Aldonza’s benefit because after she walks away and he wipes his face disgustedly.



At the ribbon shop, Eman doesn’t know what Lola’s talking about. Lola says Mari told her everything. Eman says whatever Mari told her was a lie. He went to San Miguel alone and he hasn’t even seen or spoken to Mari yet. Lola doesn’t believe him and Eman asks what we’re all wondering: why does she believe Mari and not him? Lola says because up to now, Mari’s told the truth (oh sweetie, if you only knew. Eman finally understands why Uriel beat the crap out of him last night. He asks her to believe in him, but Lola refuses. She believed him before. What’s more, he gave Mari the Candy House and lied to her about it. She tells him to leave and not hurt her anymore. Eman finally takes her advice.

Pato is back from DF. He’s telling Ren about all the stuff he got done. Renato’s not paying attention. He’s slouched in his massive chair, contemplating his knee, so Pato also fills him in on the fact that his sister ran off with some pirates. They ate all the sandwiches in town, on the beach, under some palm trees. (To be clear, Ren doesn’t have a sister, right?). Renato finally snaps out of it and tells Pato about Aldonza and his fight with Silvia. He asks Pato to intervene. Pato agrees and goes upstairs to talk to Silvia, but she’s gone. All that’s left is a note on her bed.

Adelina and Irma are having coffee in a café. Adelina tells Irma about her decision to give Joaquin a chance. Irma shares her happiness, but then tells her about how Uriel’s changed since Lardo’s death. Now, he’s upset again because of Mari’s boyfriend, Eman. Aldonza walks up in time to hear this and asks what’s up with Eman (a little rudely, if you ask me). Irma fills them in on what supposedly happened between Mari and Eman, and how Uriel beat him up. Adelina and Aldonza can’t believe it.

Mari takes the Candy House to church, as promised. She bobs gleefully to the Virgin Mary on her way in and out.

Pato tells Renato that Silvia’s gone. They try to call her, but she turns off her phone. Ren reads her note.

Aldonza, Adelina and Irma go back to the shop, where Lola is still teary eyed. She confirms the story. She doesn’t mention the Candy House because she cannot hear me exasperatedly telling her to do so through time and space. Aldonza asks Lola if she asked Eman what was up, but Lola doesn’t want to talk about it. Aldonza insists he has a right to explain his side of the story, which prompts Irma to ask if Aldie’s saying Mari lied. Aldonza doesn’t know, but there are always two sides to every story. Irma says Mari would be incapable of lying about this because she’d be the one to come out looking badly, plus because it would upset her dad even more, plus because of what they just went through with Lardo’s death. Man, are I and U in for disappointment when the truth comes out. Aldonza maintains that this isn’t like Eman, but Lola says she has more important things to worry about and fills them in about her mom. She doesn’t know where else S/V lives or how to reach her. The others tell her not to worry, they’re sure S/V will contact her. Irma lets her off work to check it out and Al and Ade leave at the same time.

PJ comes into his office and sees the Candy House on his desk. Mari didn’t leave a note. PJ wonders who left it and why.

Hum tells Cris and Sev that things look good. The circulation is better and there are no signs of infection. He can go home in a couple of days, as long as he doesn’t pull any of his characteristic stunts. It seems like he’s out of danger of losing his leg, but Hum still wants to check on him carefully until his circulation is 100% back to normal.

Pru is primping in Val’s room while Val complains about Pru’s big mouth. Pru says she already apologized. She didn’t mean to say anything, it just came out. Val says it better not “just come out” that she’s expecting Lardo’s baby. Val’s annoyed because she’s been banned from Cris’s room while Aldonza roaming about, waiting to pounce. Pru tells her not to worry. Soon Cris will only be thinking about her and…his baby.

Cris tells Sev how worried Cande was about him running around with S/V. Sev says that relationship is dead and she won’t bother them again.

It’s Bible study time! Lulu wraps up a reading and Pru invites Tomás to share something he found. Apparently, it’s the Song of Solomon. He reads the passage, with what seems to be heavy extrapolation on his part. His mom and Marga seem to think it’s lovely.

Cris and Sev fill Cande in on Cris being out of danger of losing his leg. Cande says that Sev can leave then. Sev says he’ll leave when he wants. Cris tries to cut off their sniping, asking what the deal is. Sev tells him about Cande’s inscribed picture of PJ. Cris says he knows about that and doesn’t think it’s scandalous. Sev says no it’s not, but to clear it all up, he went to talk to PJ. Cande is mortified and leaves to get some fresh air. Cris thinks it’s a little ridiculous that his dad is making a big deal of this, given the state of his and Cande’s relationship after all these years. Sev says he doesn’t like to learn about things he should’ve known long ago.

Uh oh. Eman is drinking again and his and Lola’s old theme song is playing. He’s just about at the bottom of a bottle and asks the world at large why? Why him? Why him?! “I didn’t give her the Candy House. Why did you do this to me?” he implores. We don’t know if he’s asking Mari, Lola or God.

Lola rings the bell at her mom’s house and jumps up and down, trying to see in the windows.

Cande goes to church. She sees PJ and reaches for his face, to caress his bruise, but he, of course, steps back. Cande apologizes for causing him problems with Sev, but PJ says she’s not the cause. Sev doesn’t hate him, but what he represents. Cande tells him he’s no better; he provokes Sev. PJ says maybe that’s true, because he certainly hates what Sev represents (you know…evil). The worst about it is that she, Candela, has let herself be arrastrada (=dragged) along by Sev. He says leaving him a Candy House bribe won’t work, but she tells him she didn’t bring him anything. She apologizes again and leaves.

The police dude has gone to Joaquin’s house looking for Flavia. He heard she was running around with Adriano, and he has a warrant for his arrest for he murder of Abelardo Lagos. Joaquin doesn’t know where she is; she left their son with him and hasn’t been in contact.

Sev is reliving S/V’s murder while Cris sleeps. A knock at the door wakes him up. It’s Mel. Sev is rude, but Cris invites Mel in. Cris suggests that Sev go get some air, like Cande. Sev concedes. Mel begs for forgiveness, but Cris tells him that, of course, it’s not his fault and he’d do it again. Mel gives him his escapulario, which Dom sent. Cris asks him to give Aldie a message: that he loves her, and is always thinking about her. He knows she feels the same way. And no matter what happens, what’s between them will never be destroyed.

Cris’s message becomes a voiceover as Aldonza visits Ray’s grave. Afterwards, she says that if Ray were there, none of this would be happening. She tells Ray that she knows he’s her dad and asks that, wherever he is, he help her to prove it.

Lola is waiting for Sev in his office and demands to know where S/V is. Sev says if she didn’t leave word, it’s because she doesn’t care about Lola. Lola insists that S/V was too sick to bail like that. She mentions the baby and Sev snaps that she’s getting on his nerves with this! Lola jumps, but doesn’t back down. If he doesn’t answer, she’ll go to the cops so they can look for S/V. Cande has arrived just in time to hear this. She agrees with Lola, demanding that Sev answer. Sev repeats that S/V bailed and all he did was help her leave. He insists that S/V abandoned Lola, just like before, and was only in SL for him and his money, etc. Cande backs him up, driving Lola to leave. Sev threatens her grandparents as she does. Cande demands to know where S/V is so she can be prepared.

Aldonza is looking at a picture of her dad. Little Ray pops his adorable head around the door frame. Aldonza gets hugs and kisses (it’s super cute). Ray asks who the guy in the pic is and Aldonza tells him. Then he asks where his mom is and when she’s coming (poor baby!). Aldie doesn’t know.

Sev tells Cande he was got S/V out of SL; that’s what he was doing all yesterday. Flicking his talisman, the gold lighter, he assures Cande that S/V isn’t having the baby because he bought her off. She won’t bother them anymore. Cande’s surprised b/c S/V seemed ready to use the baby to make Sev do what she wanted, but she eventually accepts his answers.

Joaquin and Adelina are walking along the land. Ade has just filled Joaq in on the Eman situation. Joaq doesn’t believe it either. They need to talk to Eman, but they don’t know where he is. Joaq thinks he has an idea of where he might be though…

He’s right, Eman’s still getting drunk.

Sev and Cande discuss keeping Lola quiet. Sev says Cande should handle it cuz she has more influence with Dom. Cande asks why he’s not with Cris and he answers that he forgot he had a meeting with the engineers to fix the water problem. He left Cris with Mel, which pisses Cande off. He asks where she’s been all this time. She tells him she was around, taking a break from him, like she said. Sev takes a call from the engineer and is pleased.

Mari and Val are in a Witch Training Meeting. Mari doesn’t know how she got to this point. Her dad really beat Eman up bad. Val says that if she feels this way, she better tell the truth now. After all, the worst that can happen is that she becomes the harpy of SL, gets kicked out of her house, and winds up being the maid of honor at Eman’s wedding to Lola. As expected, this strengthens Mari’s resolve. Lola will never have Eman! He can date anyone but her. Her work done, Val leaves to go back to the clinic.

Joaq fills Ade in on the Flavia/Adriano criminal situation. He could’ve told the cop she was in San Miguel when she gave Ray back, but he’s trying to protect her and Ray. Now he’s regretting it, because if the police are right, she’s living with a murderer! Adelina tells him not to beat himself up. She’s also had to tapar(=cover) certain things about her sister to protect Aldonza.

Candela’s going back to the clinic, but she has to make a stop first. Dom asks her if something’s wrong with Lola because it’s weird she would leave work early just to ask Sev about Cris’s health. Cande says it’s not weird b/c Cris and Lola are good friends. She puts off more questions and leaves.

Mel visits Aldie at El Santuario to give Aldie Cris’s message. Aldie is delighted and gives Mel a big hug and cheek kisses to pass back to Cris (it’s pretty cute). Mel tells her Cris wants her to call him; he has his cell now. Aldie whips out her cell to call him immediately.

Val is visiting Cris (way to stick to your guns, Hum). She doesn’t get why he’s still obsessed with Aldonza, knowing she’s his sister. Cris says that’s not confirmed yet. Besides, his feelings won’t change overnight. Val says she gets it; she feels the same way about him. She can’t get it out of her mind that right now, they would’ve been married, and possibly even starting a family (she’s way more subtle with him than with Mari). Cris’s phone rings and he answers. It’s Aldie. Cris tries to keep his answers brief and generic because Val’s there. Aldie knows he’s never alone, so she’s not offended. Then, weirdly, when Aldie says goodnight, Cris tells her he’ll sleep like a baby and dream of angels after her call, totally giving away who it is to Val, who leaves.

Outside of his room, Val runs into Cande, who asks what’s wrong because Val is all teary eyed. Val tells Cande about the call. Cande tells her not to worry; she’s got another ace up her sleeve.

Cris heads Cande off about the phone call. He already knows what she’s going to say: Val’s so hurt, Aldonza’s the worst, etc. Cande agrees then plays her ace: while he’s been in here, fighting for his life and leg, Aldonza’s been making out with her lawyer friend!
