Episode 17

Augusto and Beatriz are a hilarious couple...when they are not throwing insensitive comments to their daughter.
Magos is unbelievable.....at what point will her family keep bailing her out. I wonder what it will take for her to grow up.
Luciana is so lazy and is always taking breaks, Ingrid facial expressions are priceless.
So,
Magos did not skip a beat in asking Elsa for a "loan" from her severance pay. From the look on Nacho's face and his comments it looks like Elsa has been the prime enabler of Magos.
Luciana demonstrated her version of the see/hear/speak no evil monkies: with just "don"t see, don't hear, shut up." Then she made Alicia repeat it so she would know what to do. Funny.
Beatriz could not get any attention from Augusto with her amorous advances in the boudoir with him grimacing behind his newspapers and letting her literally fall on her face. Funny.
After the arrest without a warrant threat is over, Nacho goes to talk to Ximena because maybe there is a chance he can still save her.(from being like her mother)
Roberto's slogan for the "Nubes" (Clouds) mattress company was: "un descanso digno de los ángeles" (a rest worthy of the angels).
Elsa never tells Nacho the whole truth about no longer working when he tells her about his new job as a security guard. He thinks she is just working part time.
The young couple is following Roberto to see if he has a "cola que le pisa". In other words they are following him to see if they can trip him up (re: his custody of Roberto) with something he is doing that is not quite right/moral/appropriate/legal.
Why did Augusto decide to give up a trip with Sandra for one to New York: will it be for business or pleasure?
Lichita was not too excited to be at the "Panorámica motel" in the end where anyone could get into trouble. Oh, no!
• I don't trust the adopting couple at all. They are way to determined to take Mateo away from his dad.
• Lazy Luci=perfect name
• Don A has some secrets, too.
• I wonder if Beatriz's slipper hitting him in the face was intentional. Neither of them reacted. Well done!
Jarifa- Thanks for adding some more of the great details.
Last night that couple went from nice young couple, to crazy stalkers. The husband made a good point about Rob going into the love motel-- he's single and unmarried, so it's his business.
Sara- I agree that I prefer Lichita's change happening internally first as we are seeing. I do appreciate she was wearing her pants suit again. It's her best outfit.
This would have been a perfect time for Elsa to tell Nacho that she lost her job, now that he's found a job. Didn't like seeing her wimp out in that situation or with Magos. I wonder how much money she gave her?
Beatriz (who looked pretty good in that nightie) was hilarious trying to seduce Agusto. He did not look happy at all about having to go see the mystery person on the phone.
Looks like things will get interesting tonight in the motel. Hmmm...
Your comments were insightful and well phrased: “Magos gives her daughter the rundown and is surprised and maybe almost teary eyed to find out that Ximena actually cares what happens to her”. In spite of all she has done, I have a soft spot for Magos. I hope she changes before she ends up in jail. Ximena and her grandparents deserve so much more.
“Hahaha Beatriz is trying to seduce Augusto and is failing miserably” made me smile remembering that scene. Has he smiled at all since this began? ;)
“His actions has consequences and as a result this will make it much harder for him to receive custody”. I’m so sad the dour social worker is receiving so much fuel for her fire. There is something off putting about her. She seemed to have made her mind up about Roberto early on and is humorless and with little (if any) heart.
“I'm glad she's being forceful from inside, not because of some new found power that she credits to a new "luke". Self-respect, not just shallow confidence because of an outfit or hairdo”. Loved that Sara…perfect and heartfelt.
Jarifa, thank you for Roberto's slogan for the "Nubes" (Clouds) mattress company was: "un descanso digno de los ángeles" (a rest worthy of the angels). You always add the most excellent details.
"Last night that couple went from nice young couple, to crazy stalkers". Spot on Vivi. I finally realized the hub was Arturo from La Malquerida. He is so handsome.
CeCe, thanks for a masterful recap.

Love Antes Muerta!!!
"and you know what I mean. I dont but I guess we shall find out"
Noticed while Roberto is slowly moving toward telling the truth instead of bluff and bluster, Alicia used bluff and bluster on the cops, forfeiting truth. I want Alicia to make adjustments and defend herself but I love how she looks now and hope we don't get a barbie. Better fitting clothes fine.
The stinker grandson is forcing his own grandfather out.
Glad Roberto decided to buy the apartment.
Beatriz and the seduction, best scene of the night for me but hate it was for Luciana
Well put, Vivi, about Magos.
My thought is it doesn't really matter how much love and attention is showered on a child, or how much they are spoiled. It's not about reality in a child's mind. It's all about perception and what the child "sees" as the truth. I think Magos' reaction to her own daughter's support showed that perhaps she doesn't realize how much and deeply she is loved.
I believe there is a bond between Magos and Alicia that needs to be nurtured. And Magos needs to change - absolutely.

My thoughts:
1. Magos --> I think she is spoiled and eventually became labeled as the lazy, troublesome one. They (her parents) do not expect anything more from her. Like someone said if they pressure her they way they did Lichita and refuse to bail her out of her actions she will have no choice but to grow up...well one would think. Time will tell.
2. Augusto did threaten Luciana about needing to win at least one account but she does not seem too worried about it. She came to the meeting unprepared when Roberto finally stepped up. Either she is banking on jumping on Roberto train (take one for the team approach) or somehow using Beatriz to convince Augusto to stay.
3. I totally agree that when Lichita decided to change it was her attitude and inner self as opposed to her outward appearance....if that comes later I will be okay with that since the change came from within at first. I also like how Roberto respects her now as she is and not some barbie doll transformation of her.
4. Agree I thought Beatriz looked carefree/good with her hair down and her silky outfit. She should let loose more often.
5. Of the young couple...the husband seems like the reasonable one compared to the wife. She is always 10/10 (high strung and hysterical) since she has become obsessed with Mateo. She is clearly not thinking logically.
Last night Alicia said,"El que no habla, Dios no lo oye." So, yeah, "Squeaky wheel gets the oil." Alicia is starting to squeak.

notes I had enjoyed the recap and was going to write up a few points to mention but got called away. Sorry, I'm striking out today.
Well almost---I took in all of the Magos comments both pro and con. I have to say that I am on team Magos and whatever made her the way that she is, I hope that the sun will shine on her before the novela ends. I want to hear Ximena call her mama.
Must see tv
