Thank you in advance everyone!! The 10:00 pm hour is a killer for me, but I do love me some Erick Elias. If this is as good as El Hotel was, then I'll just have to be sleep-deprived for as long as it lasts. I'm a lousy sleeper anyway, now I would just have an excuse.


 

So excited, this is even better than Hotel!! BTW the time slot is off. The premiere time will be depending on which part of the US each of you live.

10pm is a killer slot for me too. I was hoping it would be on earlier. With Yago ending soon I guess this could take its place on my dvr. I just hate always being a day behind everyone.
 

No prob! The reason behind all those time differences is because there will be a live soccer game that day at 10pm/9c/7pac. After the premiere, it will be on regularly at 10pm/9c.

What a dream recapping team!

As others have stated, 10 is way late for me but this is really something I would like to see. With Sueno and Camino riding off into the sunset, I really want to see this but I have to be coherent and able to do my day job and 4:30 a.m. comes so early!

Will have to see what happens...

Hiya Vivi and fellow Carayit@s! Thanks for the synopsis and for volunteering to get a recap team together. Since this one has already aired in Mexico to rave reviews and boasts an excellent producer and an outstanding cast, I'm all in. I was thinking of taking a break from TN watching and/or recapping after my current shows finish but I know I'll miss you guys too much and this TN is too good to be missed. Count me in your team, Vivi! I prefer sharing either Tuesdays or Fridays with somebody but feel free to discuss it with the rest of the ladies and let me know by email once you come to an agreement. I have crummy internet at the moment but I shall be properly connected by next Thursday (fingers crossed). In any case, I'm confident will have our team line-up ready and fired up for this new adventure by next weekend.

Vivi, the only day i can recap is Fridays. So if I can share that day, i would definitely be there since everyone keeps saying how great it is.
 

I will try to record this since it is on late and I get up at 5:30 or 6.00 on weekdays. I am back to teaching abd have less time, but I will give it a go!
 

Hi everybody!! :-)

There are some really great things both going on, and in the works, down South... Now, which of these will actually wind up gracing the small screens up U.S.A. way alas, is always a crap shoot, being left in the hands of the idiots at Univision and all... Still, I thought I might give a little update, to fill you on in in regards to what's going on right now, and we all might have to look forward to.

Three productions have debuted within the last couple of weeks, two actually debuting on the same day. The first would be Jose Alberto Castro's ('Pasion y poder) 'Vino el amor'. It's been the top-rated telenovela on the air since it started (but I haven't any data yet on 'Mujeres de Negro'. I'm following this one, and it's terrific fun. Set on a vineyard plantation, and filmed entirely on location in Sonoma, California to give it that extra air of authenticity, the scenery and visuals are- perhaps needless to say- stunning, and quite unlike anything or any place that we've seen in a novela thus far.

Whoever did the casting for this one deserves their own, special award, as the casting is pretty much perfect, all across the board. Gabriel Soto is our noble-hearted, vineyard-owning galan, and thus far the role suits him to a 'T'. There isn't anyone that can play the 'quiet, sensitive, decent, strong, noble' type of 'galan'-character better than he can (and as he showed in YNCELH, his most recent telenovela before this one), and his David here is cut from the same cloth. Irina Baeva (Daniela in PyP) is our heroine, and what an absolutely STUNNING woman, physically... like, she's so gorgeous that it's almost ridiculous (and she doesn't look like she's had any 'work' done, either!). People are already griping about the obvious age difference between she and Soto's characters, and it remains to be seen whether they'll be able to successfully overcome people's reticence. But it's in the supporting cast where the producer struck gold. On the side of the good (meaning 'nice' characters), pride of place must be given to Cynthia Klitbo, in a Victoria Ruffo role of a 'mujer sufrida'. She plays the unofficial godmother to Gabriel Soto's children (Sofia Castro, more great casting), and the wife of another actor that we're used to seeing playing smarmy villains, and who is likewise in a role completely different from what we're used to seeing him in- Alejandro Avila. Together, they are Soto's most valued and trusted employees and friends on the vineyard, as well as the parents of our eventual protagonista, even though they are undocumented illegal aliens. The tragedy that befalls them because of this due to the machinations of the forces of evil (more on them later) is vital to our story, and both Sra. Klitbo and Sr. Avila have demonstrated that they can play good, noble, and suffering characters as well as they can those on the OTHER end of the stick! We also have Laura Carmine in the cast in a 'Special Participation'-type role like Susana Gonzalez was in LSDP. Her short, but crucial role is as Sr. Soto's strong, beautiful, and loving wife and baby-mama (quite a change from her last novela role, as the thoroughly evil and envidious sister (Nuria) to the protagonista, in AQNMD (for which she won the award for the year's best villain)), and she's been terrific, and she and Soto make for an incredibly handsome couple. Her role has actually, alas, already come to an end, but she succeeded in leaving her mark.

 

The forces of evil that I referred to earlier are even more awesome. First we have two actors new to Televisa audiences that Telemundo audiences might recognize- Kimberly Dos Ramos in her first-ever villana role as 'Graciela', Laura Carmine's younger, evil, and envidious sister (similar to Sra. Carmine's 'Nuria' in AQNMD that I referred to earlier, actually). She's been terrific. Then we have Christian de la Campa (most recently one of the three leads in 'Tierra de Reyes') as Sr. Soto's character's supposed best friend and most trusted confidante, but who is actually working with Soto's character's evil mother-in-law to steal both his land and his fortune from him, for their own nefarious purposes. The BEST part is who we have playing that evil mother-in-law- Azela Robinson (most recently 'Josefa' in YNCELH) as 'Lilian'. Bitter, scheming, wicked, entitled, and horribly racist (her hatred towards Mexicans, especially undocumented ones, is an important part of the story. Her character is like a foil to the humble and kind character played by Cynthia Klitbo, and the dynamic between the two (who share a past) is already pretty juicy, especially now that tragedy has befallen Sra. Klitbo's 'Marta'. Watching these two actresses- both renowned in their field, ESPECIALLY in villainous roles- go toe-to-toe together reminds me of watching two other telenovela titans of the PAST generation go at each other in their scenes together, these being Diana Bracho and Daniela Romo- both so consistently wonderful- seen together recently for the very first time in EHDLS.

The plot and storyline with this one is moving right along... We're just about three weeks in, and there's already been a ton of stuff that's happened, and it doesn't show any sign of letting up. Let's hope!

On the same day that VeA aired, we also have one that from what I understand you guys are getting very soon, Pedro Damian's (MIVAC) 'Amo Despertar Contigo'. Now, seeing as its about to debut for you all up there, I won't say too much about it, but it's supposed to be a little lighter fare than most other novelas (as are most of Sr. Damian's productions). Call it your typical 'telenovela rosa'. It's being viewed quite favorably by both critics and the audience thus far, but this could be because it seemed to fly under most people's radars, so not much was expected.

 

In a completely different vein, we have also had the debut of Carlos Moreno's 'Mujeres de Negro', which is totally unlike anything we've ever seen, and thus far (we're only 5 episodes in), it's SPECTACULAR! Based on a Finnish series, it's about three women each in lousy relationships with their wretched husbands and decide to take matters into their own hands by killing them. This is the first episode. The rest of the series apparently involves the after-effects of all of this, especially considering that TWO of the husbands were involved in shady and nefarious dealings with the evil head of a pharmaceutical company. The women are Alejandra Barros, Mayrin Villanueva, and Ximena Herrera, each well cast. The husbands are Alexis Ayala, Francisco Gattorno, and Mark Tacher. Investigating the women, we have Arturo Peniche as the crooked and immoral lead investigator, and a wonderful actress new to Televisa, Lourdes Reyes (who was perhaps one of the most memorable villains in recent years back in 2013, in a great Argos/MundoFox telenovela called 'Las trampas del deseo' as the wicked and ambitious Roberta Jauregui) as one of his honest and hard-working subordinates, with the other one played by a VERY familiar face- Diego Olivera. Things get more complicated due to the fact that Arturo Peniche's character (married, of course) is also romantically involved with that aforementioned evil head of the pharmaceutical company. The BEST part? Her name is Irene Palazuelos, and she's played by Leticia Caldeon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Production details in this one are absolutely magnificent thus far. Totally top notch. It's quite unlike anything I've ever seen, and while it remains to be seen whether it will find an audience in Mexico (it seems to be about as OPPOSITE a 'telenovela rosa' as one can get), I REALLY hope it does, and finds it way up North-side!!

Anyways, I just wanted to add all this in, for anybody who may be interested. I'm really glad you've all got such a great team lined up for LCDP. It's a terrific novela, a remake of the telenovela 'Capricho' from (I think) 1993, which starred Victoria Ruffo in the (Pimentel) role, and Diana Bracho in Claudia Ramirez's role (for which Sra. Bracho won her first 'Best villana' award), and I think you'll all really like it. Enjoy, everybody!!

Gracias Vivi for the information and to Stevey as well although the information Stevey gave us looks too spoilery for my taste especially information about the characters. Small details and cast information would be enough.

Not sure if I would be able to watch regurarly but I will try as I can as time allows it. Although anything including Ximena Romo and Claudia Ramirez is a must watch.
 

Count, any information I gave could equally be gleaned from the Televisa website's profiles on each character. But I'll try and be more careful next time!

Thank you for the excellent information! Arturo Peniche is one of my favorites but overall, both casts look stellar. I also am a huge Gabe Soto fan and I look forward to his teaming with Ana.

I am hoping one of these will replace Ana when it ends. I fear at least 1 will be slated for the 10 hour so I won't be able to watch.

To be Sincere, El Color de Pasiòn is just Amazingly Awesome and very Interesting. I'm so much Into Watching it that I can't miss it for nothing in this World. I'm in Nairobi, Kenya in the Eastern part of Africa so it normally aires at 1705hours everyday

I loved "El Color de La Pasiòn"! I watched it when it first ran here in the USA and I too could not miss one single episode. I hope you are enjoying the recaps as well :-)
