Caray, Caray!

Miguel panics because he can't find Erika's medicine and right then Adolfo comes in asking why an ambulance is there and where is his daughter!  Smuguel tells him it's because Erika is sick.  Alfonso demands to know in rather unfriendly tones why Luciana is there, did she and Erika argue again?

Meanwhile David storms into the police department and into Brian's office to find he's not there.  An officer tells him that he's out of the office supervising an operation.  David wants to know where he can find one of his employees who has been detained, Ramon Flores.   The man tells him that Ramon left with his son and a woman.   David realizes it was Marta and calls her.  She tells him that everything is cleared up and Ramon is getting back to work.   David is still peeved about Brian's abuse of authority and plans to talk to him, but Marta tells him don't bother.  David tells her the other thing that's stressing him is the pipe construction has been cancelled and that he needs Ramon to oversee the rationing of water among the employees and staff  until it's cleared up. 

At the employee house, the gang speculates that Brian is behind the water situation.  Marta thinks he's supposed to be trying to make amends with David, not make it worse.  Ramon says he's going to get to work storing water and alerting the workers about the water.    Marta says she's going to go take care of some things and Leon offers to go with her, but Marta tells him not to be so nosy.    Gee, thanks mom!

Snoozar brings a flower to Sooh-sun.  Let's not fight okay?  I'm sorry I don't want to butt into my friends love life, but okay, maybe I should have tried harder to get him to stop being such a panty waist with his sister in law and mother in law.   Can we make up now?  Soo-sun says she's the one who needs to apologize for throwing a fit over a situation that no one with even high functioning normal brain cells can figure out.   Luciana calls right then to tells Soo-sun that she is at the Santa Barbara vineyard and gives her the 411 on Erika.  Luciana says she's going to stay there to see if she can fix the water situation since Adolfo was right that it's their (Vino LA's) fault they are in this situation)  Soo offers to go help, but Luciana wants her to stay there and pass the info along to David when he returns from the Sheriff's.  You got it!  

Speaking of madness Marta stomps into Lilian's room  with her Dansko shoes to announce that Lilian must get Brian to leave her alone.   Say what?  Brian had Ramon detained and he did to bother me and get my attention!  Oh puh-lease I seriously doubt that Brian is interested in you.  Oh yes he is, because he told me so when I went to pick up Ramon and it's clear that he hasn't forgotten me.   Lilian continues to doubt Marta's story but Ms Dansko says oh it's true girl, and I hope that you'll be good enough in bed to please him and keep him away from me.   She trots on out with a toss of her extensions, leaving Lilian looking like she has a sour stomach.    Now maybe it's just me, but that was a bitch move from Marta to rub Lilian's nose in things  It also made no sense because if Lilian has no power over Brian in bed how is she supposed to get him to heel out of it?  These two old gals are whack!    Brian can do so much better.

Meanwhile back at Brian's David still waits. In the meantime he gets a text from Adolfo who tells him he'll have to battle the Sheriff alone because his daughter and her lungs need him.  I hope she gets better, texts David.  Right then Sheriff Gutierrez arrives looking all delicious in his uniform.   Pity he's got the brain of a rotten melon.   Anyway,, he denies Davids accusation that he's behind the halt of the construction, he thought David was there to complain about Ramon.   Well I'm here for that too, it's abuse of authority and I'm not going to tolerate it any longer.   Zzzzzz…of course you will David.  You can't even handle your manipulating in laws who are running circles around you.   Brian tells David that it's just procedure.   David wants to know who else could be behind the close of the construction.   Clue one walks right through the door.  Hey Dave! How's it going?  NoJuan has a big ol grin on his face.   Of course..it was  you who did it.  What?  You stopped the construction.   Oh that….yeah it was me.  I reported you for not having a permit.   I'm also going to report you for multiple moving vest wearing violations in one week.   Brian seems very intrigued by all of this. 

The paramedics tell Adolfo Erika is going to be fine, she's a strong woman.  They  just need to keep her inside and buy another inhaler.  The doctor will be by to see her later.  Seriously the chick has severe lung/asthma issues and they don't have any inhalers around?  That's not on Smuguel, ,even if he does bug me.   Adolfo tries to blame Smug again for things and for not calling Adolfo when she got sick.  Smug tells him she didn't want to worry him.  Adolfo thinks Smug should have been with his daughter instead of Luciana.  Smug says he was with her and only left to look for her medicine, Luciana was helping him look for it.   Besides this isn't the first time it's  happened.   Adolfo pipes down and admits it isn't and that since she was little she's had these problems.  Now her lungs and Bronchi are affected for life.   Smuguel realizes that her condition is more serious than she told him.  Is she going to be alright?  Adolfo says we'll see what the specialist says, but she has to be okay because I don't know what I would do without my daughter. 

Brian pleads ignorance on the construction issues but David rants to Brian that NoJuan is behind his construction woes.  Well maybe you should have gotten  your permit says NoJuan.   Brian simply says that all he knows is Tellez was within his rights to remove the irrigation system and David needs to get his permits in order.   NoJuan continues to taunt David about getting permits before starting construction, something he would have advised if he was still David's lawyer.   Brian says it's a pity that he can't help David, but maybe he should have given more of his time to Brian when he was campaigning.   David realizes what kind of games are being played and he tells Brian to forget it.  He knows now that what he did to Ramon was about racism.     Brian simply says you got a beef?  Well then take It up with my secretary by making an appointment to discuss it further with me.  David and his vest leave in a huff.

Erika who is still looking picture perfect with nary a hair out of place, or make up smudged, tells her father she's sorry for worrying him.  He lectures her about taking chances with her health and reminds her of the illness she has and the limitations that come with it  The doctor warned she could get pneumonia and Alfonso doesn't want her working on the water project.  She tells him she doesn't want to stop working and she doesn't want to leave everything to him or Smuguel.   She may have been out of it, but she knows how worried he boyfriend was and tells her father he was panicked and she also heard the medics ask him to leave on the pretext of finding her medicine.  Adolfo realizes he was too hard on Smugl and Erika tells her father she wants to see him.  Adolfo is reticent because he wants her to rest, but she insists.

Outside the police department David confronts NoJuan on his bullying tactics. What do you want?  I want you to feel the desperation my father felt right before he killed himself.   David is fed up and says he won't leave things here.  NoJuan jerks away from David and tells him he better get inside because the permit department will be closing soon and he has lots of paperwork to fill out.  

Sonia brings the snack smorgasbord that SillyLily has requested including the spicy candies that are Bobby's favorites.  Lilian doesn't care to hear about Sonia's snack excursion but instead makes a few more demands, like a cake for the bratty FerDemanda who will be exhausted from her exam.  She also wants Sonia to let the kids think Lil put this whole spread together.   Sonia says no problem, she's used to it, but just a bit of advice.  Kids are smart and aren't fooled by things, such as snack parties.  You need more than this to gain their love.  Lil tells Sonia to mind her biz, if she wants her advice she'll ask for it.  Scram!  

Smuguel fusses over his lady love but she tells him not to worry about her.  He says how can he not, he was so scared when she got sick and from now on she's to rest and not work.  She says how can she do that when they have so many problems?  She knows her father was supposed to be over at the land department helping David but instead he stayed to care for her.  She knows things are bad and  knows that the fine is very high;  she tells Smuguel her father and David suspect that Gutierrez is behind it.  Miguel tells her not to worry, he will handle it and make sure that nothing happens to her vineyard…our vineyard.   His phone begins blowing up and he ignores it, but Ericka insists he takes the call.   It's PerlJam.  She wants Smuguel to help convince Carito to return.  Why?  Because the police are looking for her and think she's a suspect because she left.  So that means she did have something to do with things?  PerlJam says of course not and that's precisely why she needs to come back and testify so they'll stop bugging me.  I've tried convincing her but she won't listen, you're her boo crush so she'll only listen to you.   Smug isn't sure about all of this, but PerlJam insists and says she'll text him Carito's digits so he can call her.   The call clearly disturbs Smug and Erika picks up on it, but he plays it off as not important.  He continues fussing over Ericka and offers to spoil her with food, but she doesn't want him to leave her side.   They cuddle.   I  think Ericka isn't long for this world and Smug is going to lose the woman he is finally and truly in love with.  Bummer, and here I was starting to like Smug with her….just a little. 

Wicked Lilian is napping under a Wicked Boston accent hand book when her wicked witch daughter comes storming in to the room with her wicked attitude.   What now?  I just want to rest,  I already had a fight with the Dansko Diva Marta and now I have to deal with you?  DisGrace doesn’t' care she needs her mother to do her job and that's to help with Bobby.  I am,  I'm just letting Sonia do all the work, that's what we pay her for.  She warns DisGrace about working too hard because it will look suspect to David who is used to them just being lazy freeloaders.  DisGrace agrees because already he's telling her he doesn't want her too close to the kids.  Lil thinks it's because DisGrace did something stupid again.  DG tells her mother that the construction on the water has been halted and Lil is not happy, she doesn't know how much more of this she can take.  Too bad because if you want to stay here in our cushy digs you'll have to endure it all.  Furthermore if FerDemanda fails her exam, which she probably will with those two brain cells she has,  we'll have to stay! 

Soo-Sun has arrived  to Vino SB  and is with Luciana in Erika's office .  She gets the 411 on Ericka's attack and the halt of the construction.   Soo feels very bad for them and including Smuguel.  Luciana tells Soo that he was so worried and she realizes that what Smug feels for Ericka is the real deal.  Right then he enters and tells Luciana with tear filled eyes that she can't come back their anymore, he won't risk Ericka or his relationship with her.   Luciana is clearly hurt and knows they weren't doing anything wrong.  Smuguel agrees but it's best this way,  he can't risk things with Ericka.   Luciana takes it graciously and leaves,  Soo leaves too but not before telling  Smuguel he can call her if he needs anything.    Adolfo comes in most likely to lecture Smug, but he stops the man.  Look  I really love your daughter.   I hope so.  I do and now I’m going to work the vineyards.   Adolfo is worried for his daughter.  

Ramon gets the lowdown from David on the construction situation.  The permit has been obtained and the fine was paid.  What now?  Someone will have to come to inspect things and it may be Gutierrez.  Ramon has no problem working with him as long as he's professional and leaves Marta alone.  David prefers to handle him personally so he's to be alerted when he comes to the vineyard. They should have water by tomorrow at least for the inspection and Ramon says he's ready to work and thanks David for helping him when he was detained by immigration.  David says he'll always be there to help his peeps.

Bobby and his buddies are playing video games when DG comes in blocking their view.   Oh I see you found the new joysticks!  They thank her and the girl announces that his aunt Grace is the best aunt in the world.  DG corrects the girl, just call me Grace, k?   Bobby introduces his friend,  this is Summer.   Well welcome Summer!  She acknowledges Charlie who could care less, he's all about the game.   Bobby hops up and says he wants to go find Lucia.  Why?  So she can meet my friends.  DG tells him he can't be a bad host and leave his friends alone, surely Lucia will be by later.   Right then she shows up to DG's annoyance.  Bobby is excited and rushes to hug and greet her.  I want  you to meet my friend Summer!  Lucia tells Summer she's heard all about her from Bobby and what a master she is at video games.  It's true!  I was beating both of them.   Bobby wants Lucia to stay and play but she tells him there is a lot of work she has to do.  She promises if she finishes early she'll come back to play with them.  He's bummed and tells her she's turning into his father, he never has anytime for them anymore.   DG salivates at her good fortune!

FerDemanda goes to see her Tino Tano and he tells her about Brian's abuse of authority.  Fer can't believe her nana is friends with that dude.  Well it's all good Tano says because she went up there and got my Dad out and told the sheriff off!  Really?  Tano tells Fer that he knows she's peeved at Marta but all she's done is care for her, her whole life and what happened in the past has nothing to do with her.  Fer is still hurt though.  Tano tells her to simply think about it.  They talk about her exams and how she did.  I'm not sure.. I was nervous and worried the whole time.  She says she answered all the questions though.  Well then that's good!    If I fail for sure my father won't let me see you.  Tano is positive she did well and will go to the college of her choice.   Let's hope it's far far away. 

Smuguel finally makes that call to Carito.  She's surprised and excited to hear from him.   She tells him she's happy to be back with her family even if they are struggling financially.  She doesn't know what to do.  Smug knows the police are looking for her.  Yes but I didn't do anything wrong.  Then why did you leave like that?  I need a vacation and with the police looking for me, I figured it was best.   Smug implores her to come back and Carito brightens that it might be for more.  Really? You want me to come back.  Smug says yes, you really don't know anything?   Carito denies.  Smug says then if she didn't do anything then she needs to come and clear her name;  he can't force her but he has faith she'll do what's right. 

Lucia comes into David's office without knocking only this time he's not amused.   He's had a no good very bad day and he found out that NoJuan is behind all of their construction problems.  Of course it was that bastard!  Worse..you weren't here where you should be at all times, so I can continue to kick you around like a desperate puppy.   Lucia pushes back.  Look boy,  I was over at the VSB because in case you forgot it's because of our problems that they don't have water now and SooSun and I were over there checking on the construction to see what we could do.   David doesn't care..it's either their vineyard or ours.  Who are you with?   I think Lucia should open up a new bottle of wine on David called VINO El WHOOP ASS!   This boy and his too tight vest are pressing me.

And speaking of ass,  NoJuan's cheap piece PerlJam is filing her nails when he walks in all happy because he's annoyed David.  She's happy too because she may have gotten Carito to come home!  That's great how did you do it?  Well don't worry but if she comes back she has to stay here.  NoJuan is not on board with that, he wants her at David's so she can spy.  Really?  That again?   She was so nervous last time and we can't leave her alone.  NoJuan doesn't  think it would be a good idea because if she stays there, she'll know everything shady that is going on there.   Is that what you want?  Think you bubble headed bimbo, think! 

Lucia hasn't  uncorked the bottle on that wine I suggested but she does tell David to back it up!  She was over there helping them the way they helped us!   Waaah you always prefer Smuguel over me!  Are you kidding me?  It's because of the favor that we asked of them that they're in this situation with us.   David tells her he didn't ask them for anything,  it was her.  She went running to Smug like she always does instead of coming to him.  Are you insane?  David realizes he's pressed her too far and he backs off and apologizes.  He's just stressed out and the fine was very expensive.  She gives him a break and tells him this attitude isn't going to solve anything.  The need to focus on winning the contest so they can recoup what they've lost and come out ahead.   David may be pretty but he's a pitiful galan who needs so much coddling and  I don't know why Lucia is putting up with this treatment.

Smuguel on the other hand is pampering his lady by bringing her a meal in bed.  He even offers to feed her.  It's pretty sweet.   She only wants kisses but he tells her the soup first and kissing later.  So why was my father so mad?  Smug tells her it was a misunderstanding with Lucia.  He thought her being here meant she and Erika had fought about him.   Smuguel wants Ericka to be sure of him, so he told Lucia from now on he will deal only with David.  Ericka says she never doubted him but she appreciates the gesture.   Whaaa?  All this chica has been is insecure and doubtful.  Oh show…stop playing with all these walk backs on characters.

Brian is hot for the inspection on David's vineyard and he's not happy with NoJuan either for dragging him into his feud with David.  NoJuan apologizes but Brian needs to know that David is not all that as a businessman…he's where he is because of NoJuan and all the work he did for him over the years.  Really ?  Yeah and you'll see soon that I'm going to be the most powerful man and  you will want to be my bestie and chase after my kids Nana…just wait and see.  She won't wear sweaters and Dansko's either.  Fine.  Yeah and in the meantime don't sweat it, soon things will blow over with you and David.   Well never mind I don't want to talk to him anymore,  we're in a fight after what he said to me and now we're enemies.   *face palm*  Brian is a disappointing Sheriff.  Pretty, but very disappointing.

Lucia tells David she should get back to work, and he wonders where FerDemanda is, she should be done with her exams by now.  It's awkward for sure and he finally properly apologizes for his outburst earlier.  He never thought things would get this far between them.   Lucia understands but she assures him that she loves him and because of that she will always support him.   He loves her too and will do the same.  He tells her if she wants to supervise the water project she can and he'll be okay with it.  She tells him from now it will be his job to deal with Smuguel because she's been banished because of Ericka and her delicate lungs and fragile ego.   David has a confused then-why-the-hell-did-we-fight-for look.   Yeah you're a moron.

DG fawns and hovers over Bobby and his friends as Sonia serves them dinner.  FerDemanda comes in and the ask her how her exams went.  I don't know, I was nervous.   Well do you want us to call your therapist Anderson?  No, I think I just want to eat dinner with my Dad.  DG says she'll go get him from the study where he is with Lucia.   Bobby assures Fer that things will come out great for her. 

David wants to know if Smug ran her off or if it was her decision.  Lucia says it was something Smug thought might be best for Ericka and she agrees it.  DG comes in right then and tells David it's time to wrap it up with Lucia and come eat dinner.  He tries to get her to leave but she pushes her way into the situation and tells David the kids need him more than ever especially after the way Lucia hurt Bobby earlier.  Lucia bristles at DG's accusations and sets her straight.  She didn't ignore Bobby or his friends earlier she simply couldn't put work off, they are having lots of problems on the vineyard in case she wasn't aware.   DG tries to throw her Auntie weight around and protect Bobby.   David tells DG to scram he can't handle her drama right now.   Whatever.   After she leaves, David tells Lucia he can't believe what a mess his home life is.  The kids are back to feeling neglected by him and worse he and Lucia are fighting all the time. 

Smug tells Adolfo about his arrangement with Lucia. He also assures him he will devote his sole focus to their vineyard and winning the contest.  Adolfo is pleased and want's Ericka out of everything she's to rest and let Smug handle the contest.  Smug thinks it's wrong to exclude her, after she's poured her heart into the contest.  She can't work and now you want to take her out of being part of the contest?  Smug thinks it will further depress her.  Adolfo doesn't care what Smug thinks..he is in charge of his daughter and her health and he won't continue discussing it with him.

Lil holds court at dinner and brags about all of her wonderful preparations.  The candies and snacks she made..while Sonia appears to be choking on her anger.  Lil even goes so far as to try to spin a story that she went personally to see Brian about Tano's father.   FerDemanda's eyes widen and she is about to call out the deep bowl of BS Lil is passing around when David thanks her.  Now you can rest assured about your workers David and spend time with your children.   Bobby wants to know why Lucia didn't join them and David tells her because she's working so he can join them.    Lil suggest that Sonia serve the cake she prepared.  Sonia is terse and David picks up on it.  Are you okay?  Yes.   Bobby wants his cake in the game room and DG says of course.  Poor Sonia is forced to shut up and do as they say while taking all the credit.  David finally asks FerDemanda about her exam.   She tells him she was very nervous and he apologizes for not being there.  Fer says she's used to it and her Aunt was there anyway as she always is.  She knows I don't like to feel lonely.  David gives the side eye to his daughter and DG.   Things are getting worse.

Lucia sadly vents her loneliness to Soo-Sun, David's problems are huge and she doesn't know how to help him.  Soo says they're family problems and you need to keep your distance.  Waaah?  Wasn't this bipolar biatch just jumping down Snoozar's throat a day ago because he wasn't pushing David and Lucia closer?  Get yer meds Soo-Sun.   Poor Lucia says she also was hurt by Smuguel shutting her out and never thought it would come to this.  She realizes what she had with him was good and easy..not so complicated.  Yeah but you weren't in love with him like you are with David.  Lucia says yes that's true but it's so difficult and she never realized their relationship would cause so much pain for them and others.  Soo says Lucia needs to ask herself how long she is willing to wait for David and his abusive ass.   I feel for Lucia, the poor girl has been through so much.  Taken from her family, reunited with a skank mother who judges and doesn't support her, while sweeping her own dirty stuff under the rug.  Now she has lost her childhood best friend and the man she loves has nuts the size of raisins, and is led around the nose by a band of hyenas.  Run Lucia..run away from this vineyard and go find happiness with normal people and a man who will ignite passion in you and will love you properly.

FerDemanda lays it on  thick about her Aunt and DG eats it up.  Oh well I was just being my usual fantastic aunt *eyelash-flutter-flutter-hair toss*  Fer excuses herself from the table and Lil goes to leave but not before David thanks her too.  Lil says she was doing what she said she wanted but was never allowed, which was to finally get close to her grandkids.  David says he appreciates all they've done but now that she's calming down and gets her score ….yeah yeah we know we have to leave.  David says yes it's time.  DG tells him no matter what she will always want to be close to the kids, they're all she has left of her sister.  David says no problem, he won't keep them from the kids.  DisGrace needs to come up with another plan another rock and it has to be pronto!

Lucia says stupidly she would wait for David her whole life but it hurts her to see the pain they're causing.  It's worse now because DG is getting along so well with the kids.  Soo Sun cautions Lucia but Lucia is adamant about what she wants, it's just so hard.  She tells Soo to ignore her because she's tired and frustrated and not even sure herself of what she's saying.  Soo Sun cautions her friend that true love survives everything but just make sure that it doesn't cost you your peace.   Finally Soo Sun, some good advice from that scrambled head!

Days pass with a little musical montage to show us that Smug is continuing to pamper and care for Ericka as Adolfo keeps Smug in his cross hairs.  Poor Sonia is run ragged waiting on Bobby and the kids as they prank her.  Lucia and David continue to work closely together.  David continues to brood even as Lucia keeps trying to show him she loves him.  DG struggles to juggle work and doting dutiful Aunt.  Ramon parades his upgraded Marta past Brian who enjoys his lunch in the village.  Like an aging beauty queen Marta preens and smiles in her too tight unflattering sweater dress.   At the employee house Snoozar and SooSun enjoy couple time with Leo and Sonia over a glass of wine.  Fifth wheel Lucia feels alone and out of place without her plus one and she quietly slips up the stairs as she longingly looks on.   Brian surveys the water construction plans at VSB with Adolfo.  Marta continues to care for her ninos and it appears Fer is softening but Lil's hovering presence reminds her that it would be a betrayal.  Fer and Tano grow closer and she gives him a gift.  Smug unveils the new Frontera wine to Ericka, as David inspects his new bottle of Vino Romance alone.  Lucia watches lovingly from afar but obviously still feeling shut out.

NoJuan and PerlJam enjoy an evening together and he wants to make out. She in turn wants to know what's up with SkidMark,  He doesn't know why?  Because you haven't mentioned him and you must know where he is.  NoJuan doesn't care and all he knows is that since they've move in together she's changed and they have problems now. She says he's the one who is moody and busy all the time, but she does want to be with him.  Really?  They begin a make out session when ..ding dong!   Who is it?  Perla is excited because..surprise!  It's Carito!   I'm back biatches and it's to tell the truth!  NoJuan is cara de ruh-roh!
