Vino el Amor, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, #118 + #119 (Uni #112): Vino el Parasites
In this episode, Juan's parasite takes root and attacks both vineyards. Erika decides to fight for her land, and um, well that doesn't work out (details inside). Duh-vid is an idiot who gets lucky this time with Juan's parasite, but who has taken on some personal parasites in the form of two succubi and his old lawyer.
Since Uni editors are eating this show to shreds like parasites, I did my best to find some advance clips of #118 to watch. So if some of the screencaps look a little funny, that's why. I am pressed for time, so will shorten this recap and probably not have time to watch the full #119, but will do what I can to fill in gaps later. This episode (Uni labeling it #112) starts with episode #118 in Mexico.
- After hearing of the infestation, Erika gathers her workers and gives them instructions. She wants the whole vineyard fumigated. Every vine from the leaf to the trunk should be smoked! The guy in the navy polo is unsure about this but she's firm. No stinking parasite is going to mess with her vineyard, the best vineyard in the world! She will personally supervise and help the fumigation even that's the last thing that someone with bad asthma or whatever her breathing issue is should do. How Duh-vid of her except for the vow to work all day.
Weird to see dysfunction at bodega del competency |
- Perla confronts Juan over the latest plot. She knows he did it, she saw the gardener. He claims the gardener was just telling him about the parasites at the neighboring vineyard but it shouldn't affect his olives. Perla makes him swear his innocence.
I feel ya, Lilian. |
- Sadly deleted scene: Bobby wakes up Lilian to continue the game play. Gracie, wearing some weird furry red thing, joins them and borrows my patented move to stop the game playing by standing in front of the TV. Ha, Lilian motions for her to move. They all discuss how much Lilian just loooooves hanging with Bobby. Gracie wants to take Bobby to the movies. Bobby asks if his dad is really with Gracie. Lilian tells him yes. Gracie doesn't look as sure.
I just wanted to screencap the funny face and the big red furry thing. |
- What a shock, while bodega del competency is already fumigating, bodega del dysfunction is still analyzing how much to apply and where to apply it. More important, they've figured out that maldito Juan is behind it. I hope we get his awesomely insane Joker laugh out of this at the least when Duh-vid uselessly confronts him in a few scenes. I hope Uni doesn't cut it. Give me that at least Uni.
- Juan and Perla continue to fight about his dumb parasite invasion. She's worried Carito is going to tell David that Juan did it. He manages to reassure her for the moment that it's not his doing.
- Needless to say, Duh-vid is livid. Susan has to yell at him to calm down. Luciana backs her up and says the important thing is they found the parasite in time to fix things. Well Juan's parasite anyway. The other parasites are playing video games with Bobby. Duh-vid calms down for the moment, but if Juan wants war, he's got one!
- Deleted scene: After getting supplies, Erika tells them how to mix up the solution and goes to help, wheezing all the way into her mask. The workers wave her off. Uh-oh, she's clearly starting to have big breathing issues. She tells them not to leave a single larva.
- Bodega del dysfunction finally has the fumigation materials out and masks on. David gives them a no parasites in my dysfunctional vineyard allowed pep talk. Carito comes to tell David she suspects Juan. David says he does too. She's surprised. He sends her to help Ramon. Just then Perla calls, and she puts her on ignore. Perla leaves a message that it wasn't them.
- Marta and Sonia work in the kitchen. Lilian comes in all perky and ready to rumble with Marta. That's interrupted when Leon bursts in to tell them Marta and Sonia are all needed to fumigate parasites. Lilian balks but the patron has spoken. Lilian is not happy.
- Juan calls David's cell in order to brag and goad him about all this. And to offer to make a deal to buy the land and fix things. No Joker laugh this time; I am disappointed. David declines the offer.
- Meanwhile, Lilian asks Gracie if she's heard about the parasite. LOLOLOLOL. Even better, Gracie has no clue there's a parasite. Lilian is like, um the whole world is talking about it! Like most of us about this novela, Gracie couldn't give two you know whats. Lilian has to remind her that this is a good time to offer David some succubi support. Gracie is not really sure she wants to get in there and get dirty with a real parasite. Lilian tells her that David will be most impressed with her good intentions to help, so get with it.
- David chews Juan out and slams the phone down, very irked with Juan's call. Luciana tells him to focus on fumigation. David gives instructions to Susan regarding fumigation. Basically to concentrate it on the border of his lands with Juan's olive oil farm. He's very agitated when doing this and Luciana has to tell him to calm down, they'll do what he asks but they need authorization from Juan to fumigate. David says they can't help what blows onto Juan's land.
- Oh no, Erika is sitting in her office having a real coughing and breathing attack. Adolfo and Miguel rush to help her. They tell her to calm down and then all freak out about the parasite situation, the fumigation, Erika hanging with the fumigation and pesticides, and Erika's general breathing issues.
- The fumigation of dysfunction junction has been done and David thanks the gang for their professional response. He tells them to rest and hope the pesticides work. Everyone applauds.
- The Adolfo/Miguel/Erika panic session continues, as does her wheezing. Suddenly, Erika collapses.
- Tired Susan hopes all is going well at the normally functional vineyard next door. Luciana sees why Miguel loves Erika after seeing her passionate reaction to her grapes being violated by Juan's pesticide.
- While they wait for the ambulance he's called, Miguel cradles wheezing, huffing, puffing and crying Erika in his arms. She keeps telling him she's sorry and he keeps trying to tell her she's recuperate and they'll have a beautiful wedding. She's afraid it's over. He tells her to breathe and not talk. They'll talk later after she recuperates. They are both sobbing. She feels she's dying. He tries to tell her not to. She says it's ironic, she wanted to live, and now she has little time. She says she's dying and asks for his forgiveness.
- Juan gets a knock on the door. He is happy to see David. David tells him he'll never have his vineyard. Juan teases him he made a generous offer. Joker laugh!!! David swears that Juan will repent for all his misdeeds. Then he and Juan get into it about their dads. Then Juan punches David and Joker laughs.
I love his dumb Joker laugh; it entertains me |
- That allows David to get in a good punch.
- Miguel encourages Erika to hang in there. She thanks him for taking care of her and wishes him a good life. He encourages her to stay with him and live a beautiful life. She wonders why life didn't let her stay happily at his side. She says "Te amo." Then, sadly, she loses consciousness in Miguel's arms. In Mexico. In the USA version, she dies here (but read on...)
- Luciana and Susan talk pesticides instead of men for once. Until Luciana mentions Miguel. They conclude that things are going OK over there since he isn't answering his phone. It is quite the resistant pesticide.
- I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CUT THIS: Poor Miguel is devastated.
- AND THEY CUT THIS: Adolfo returns to the office to find Miguel cradling his lifeless daughter. He's utterly devastated and takes over the cradling.
- AND THEY CUT THIS TOO: Finally the dumb ambulance arrives. They must have come from the hospital with no L on Lo Imperdonable as those ambulances always took way too long. Miguel begs the medical crew to save her and the EMTs do try to revive her with a defibrillator. But it's too late. The EMTs quickly pronounce her dead, say a quick "sorry for your loss" and split, leaving a devastated Miguel and Adolfo.
- The next day happens. Luciana has been trying to reach Miguel, but he's not answering. Susan notes how grateful Duh-vid was to Luciana. Gracie c/wouldn't work with pesticides! Whatever. Miguel isn't answering Susan's calls. Somehow Luciana manages to turn this into a conversation about how David only sees Luciana as an employee (uh, wasn't that her master plan in my recap last week?).
- Susan finally reaches Miguel and gets the news that Erika died when she finally reaches Miguel.
- Luciana gives David the sad news that Erika is dead due to breathing issues caused by the fumigation of the vineyard. David curses Juan and all the damage he is causing in everything that surrounds him. They agree they should support Miguel.
- The vineyard workers talk about how Erika's death is very sad, especially for Miguel. They agree to help him and go see him. Erika gave her life for her grapes, comments Susan. (I admit, I laughed.)
- Gracie feels the need to be with Duh-vid and interrupts his meeting with Luciana. He tells her about Erika's death. Gracie feels they should go see Adolfo together. David says he will do that and Gracie should stay with the kids because that would be the most helpful thing.
- Gracie is miffed about this and lets Lilian know. Lilian is actually upset that Erika died and wants to go pay her respects to Adolfo. She says there's nothing worse than losing a kid. Gracie is annoyed by Lilian's remarks and doesn't see the big deal. Lilian is actually a little disgusted with her and tells her that Grace scares her. In these moments, she should have a little more of a heart.
- Marta, Susan, Cesar, Carito, Ramon, Sonia, Leon, and Tano offer support to a visibly saddened and distraught Miguel at the wake. Luciana offers Miguel her support and a hug. Of course Duh-vid walks in and misinterprets the situation - I think that's what we are supposed to think anyway, but he's really just looking at them with his normal blank look.
- Miguel thanks Luciana for her support and gets another hug. Duh-vid comes up to offer sympathies and a big old hug too.
- Lilian offers her friendship to a bereft Adolfo in this moment of tragedy. He mentions that after Lisa died, at least Lilian had Gracie. Poor Adolfo is just bawling and Lilian is empathetic. She tells him he will need much strength and time, but he must keep living.
- This seems like a scene that could've been cut compared to some others that have been cut. Gracie is stuck at home with Bobby. Fer is out with her friends. Bobby wished he could've gone wherever dad did. Gracie nixes that. She suggests studying but he doesn't need to. Bobby suggests learning to paint. She's clearly thinking, "Ugh," but she goes to get supplies.
- Back at the wake, Miguel sobs to Marta that Erika changed his life. Marta tells him that Erika showed him his capacity for love and all he is capable of. Miguel says he'd give back all the medals to get Erika back. They were engaged! Marta talks about how she felt when Marcos died. She tells Miguel to keep Erika alive in his memories.
- Carito and Perla are talking about how Erika died. Juan doesn't care that Erika died. Carito accuses him of doing the deed with his parasite. Perla backs her up. Juan threaten-tells them it wasn't his fault as Erika was killed by the fumigation her vineyard applied. Carito says she knows the truth and stomps off. Perla yells at Juan that thanks to his imprudence, there's a dead woman. Juan tells her to be careful how she speaks to him. Perla says she always defends Juan but she's starting to wonder. God will have to forgive him for Erika's death.
- Duh-vid talks to Miguel about everything that happened with Lisa's death, as it was not easy and for years he was out of it, but life goes on. OK Mr. Revisionism. David says the eyes of the world are on the bodega del competency and it's in Miguel's hands now. And since the vineyard is still infested with parasites, Miguel has things to do! Miguel appreciates David's words of comfort.
- Duh-vid visits Gut to "sue Juan for damages." Duh-vid asserts that Juan owes Adolfo and David damages, and even more, he is sure that the only person responsible for Erika's death is Juan and he deserves to go to jail. OK, that sounds like something Gut can actually investigate. We'll see if he does.
Can't disagree with you on that, Duh-vid |
- Poor Miguel is alone in the office, but is joined by Adolfo. Adolfo says they must live each day in her memory. Miguel reminisces about how she loved to work and always said they made the best wine in the world. He promises Adolfo he will work hard on the vineyard that Erika loved so much for the sake of the love he had for her.
- Cesar visits Susan - he's worried for her. Susan is very upset by Erika's death. So young and so unjust. Poor Miguel too. It's made her worry that she and Cesar are all wrong. (You know where this is going, I'm sure that they are going to kiss and make up...)
- Gut gets a visit from Juan, who he's called in. Gut tells him of Duh-vid's accusations. Juan plays dumb. Gut advises Juan as a friend that David might convince Adolfo to press homicide charges.
- Miguel dismisses a worker then cries to Erika's bookcase for her. Luciana walks in and offers her help. She promised him she'd always be there for him.

Life is unfair. Adolfo certainly didn't deserve this loss. Unless his ex was pregnant and didn't know it when she walked out on him he now has no children. Maybe when he's had time to calm down he will adopt Miguel.
Miguel's words about Erika – that she brightened his life – describe what Luciana did for David. This is probably the wake-up call for David to see that Luciana is the woman who makes his life complete and that he should not waste time dithering about it.
David and Miguel are now brothers in grief. David's words to him were his own lessons learned. They need to join forces to see that Juan gets what's coming to him.
As for Brian's behavior during #119, he's still playing both sides of the street. I don't yet see where this is leading. If he's faking friendship for Juan I'll call it good.
Lillian seemed genuine when she went to see Adolfo. Lisa is only dead about 3 years so her grief is still intense. Based on my mother when my brother died, I'd agree that parental grief never completely goes away.
DisGracie and Juan were true to form in their non-grief. Carito was also in her incredible stupidity.
I do hope this doesn't mean that Carito gets Miguel in the end.
Not to mention that Erika's death is one more thing for Juan's rap sheet. If anyone is going to be around on Easter weekend I'll post the Karmageddon discussion on Friday. That would make it 17 episodes before the end.
"OK Mr. Revisionism"
I feel so sorry for Adolfo. Lilian was almost human as she tried to console him.
Not as a replacement but Adolfo should hire Luciana.
Horrible they had to kill Erika to free the galan. Now more mature, relationship seasoned childhood friends can make a real go.
What is Brian getting from his friendship with Juan? Twice now he has called and warned Juan.
She shouldn't have yelled at Miggy. Does he get the dinky ring back?
Blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...
blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...
blah...blah...blah...blah... Sheezo Meezo girl you are the talkingest dying chick
I ever saw, save your strength. Miggy STFU. You and Miggy both, just shut up, this is a special moment, Steve and I are revising our totals.
So these Einsteins at the “COMPETENT Vineyard” decide to take these dangerous (as evidenced by goggles and masks) chemicals INTO the Multipurpose Room to measure and mix rather than in the shop, warehouse, or open field where they will be applied.? Sorry, my brain came out of hibernation for a minute.
Fer is AWOL. Just when she was being a little nicer, Satan must have called her back.
I really felt sorry for Adolfo.
Kirby, that's right. These things should have been mixed and measured outdoors and Erika should never have touched them.
However, her death is what it will take for David and Miguel to take Juan down.
While watching this last night, I said to myself, I know it's a multi-purpose room, but WHO prepares a pesticide indoors? Like not even in a warehouse or garage, but a furnished office?? Que the hell??
And why didn't Erika have oxygen? After her last attack they should have looked into getting her an oxygen concentrator or a tank or something. Anyway, she was breathing well enough to talk, right up to the moment she expired (or lost consciousness). That doesn't make any sense.
Had to laugh when David emphatically told Grace to stay with the kids when he went to see Adolfo. Like, nice try Grace, but you said you wanted to take care of the kids, so hop to it. He's leaving her with Bobby every chance he gets!
I liked the scene where Bobby asked Grace to teach him to paint. It was interesting. I wanted to see where it would go.
Urban: "I do hope this doesn't mean that Carito gets Miguel in the end." Ugh, I hope so too. Unfortunately, I think he will end up marrying Adolfo's grapes.
I can't even guess what will happen next... but I will probably try several times anyway before the day is done.
Adolfo. There was no acting. I felt as though I was watching a bereft father. I think this is the first time I cried during this TN. You could sense his pain. While I also felt for Miguel, there was something about Adolfo's anguish that touched my heart.
Yes tofie Lili did seem "almost human" when consoling him, didn't she? I fear the writers are putting her on a path to redemption. I don't think she deserves it.
Urban, you took the thought about Miguel ending up with Carito right out my head. If she survives, I agree that is a real possibility. While we were fairly certain Erika would not survive, it was very sad nevertheless.
"The multipurpose room" nailed it Kirby. I have to say, I didn't recall the room being quite that shabby. The walls were beyond scratched and that ugly brown couch actually looked dirty. Let's count the ways the room has been used: office, hangout, trysts, deadly chemical mixing and finally, a wake. ??? Speechless.
"Marta talks about how she felt when Marcos died". It's always about you Marta...
Seems a strange time for Fer to be absent. I'm not quite sure she's in the devil's lair Kirby :), but suspect she will materialize shortly...
dy, thank you. Wonderful as always.
Diana
Yah, it was SOOO STOOPID for them to mix the chemicals in the MPR. One of the workers even tried to stop Erica from handling the bug drugs or being around them. This has got to be the stupidest death set-up I have ever seen! They never do outside shots at the (formerly) bodea de competency or they could just as well have had her hit by a fumigation truck.
You lightened this tragic episode with so many zingers, DY, thanks for that. Here's just a couple:
the important thing is they found the parasite in time to fix things. Well Juan's parasite anyway. The other parasites are playing video games with Bobby.
Lilian comes in all perky and ready to rumble with Marta. What a Loser, Lil, if this is what turns you on!
I have to say, though, that Lilian WAS sincere, deeply moved and appropriately tender and attentive to poor Adolfo who was totally broken to pieces. I couldn't understand a word he was saying, he was crying so hard! Pobrecito! The support that the LA gang gave Miguel was also touching and seemed to be so helpful at a time that's impossible to describe in words. Even David (I'll call him by his name here) offered excellent support. I couldn't help thinking, though, that the same thing that brought David out of his funk may be needed to bring Miguel out of his -- Luciana. But I still don't think Luci and Miguel will end up together. Maybe Carito will get him after all. I don't have a problem with that.
The other big moment for me was another realization on Lil's part that her daughter is heartless. These revelations have been dripping along for the past few weeks and I do believe Lil was sincere at her shock and disgust that DisGrieveless was uncaring about Erica's death and only saw an opportunity to make a move on David.
Did you mention a scene between Grace and Lil where, after Lil scolded DG for her coldness, Grace bristled that she was always compared with Lisa even in death and accused Lil that Lil of wishing that DG died instead. DG ran away and had a panicked look on her face and had a flashback of her fight with and rocking Lisa.
The little meltdown that DG had with Lil makes me think, as one of my patio friends speculated, that DG may out herself in a fit of rage or psychotic glee. Powerful scene. I hope they put the flashback in.
Anyway. See y'all later. Thank you SO MUCH, DY! This is so appreciated!
And there were all those kids who needed a mother: Leon, Fernanda, Bobby, Tano, and Miguel.
Since Lillian was complicit in Juan's embezzlement I think redemption would only be possible if she fessed up to it and got immunity if she blows the whistle on him. That would probably only apply if she knows of any serious material evidence. He is the one legally responsible for cooking the books so probably the only person who can point to that is Perla.
That mindblowing idiocy aside, next to Carito's Leather Jacket of Adorable Sanity +1 and Erika's wake (which of course was in the Multipurpose Office Space--augh, really, show?) the best thing probably was Lilian's what-the-fork-is-wrong-with-you-girl bit when Graciela utterly blew off Erika's death. That appeared to lead directly to Lil's gentle comforting of Adolfo, and as Lila pointed out it continues the still relatively gentle softening of the bitchy bookworm in advance of whatever's coming with her sociopathic (psychopathic?) daughter.
As for Brian straight up violating LEO protocol by warning Juan about David wanting to sue him--which is kind of sane, IMHO, so it took him long enough--and possibly getting Adolfo to file homicide charges (could this possibly fall under involuntary manslaughter?)...at this point, does anybody know what the fork Brian is even doing now? Marking time until he recycles more karma?
Which might not be much after all the criminal charges are adjudicated.
Thank you Lila! While generally in favor of redemption, I'm just not feeling it here.
That said, I don't wish her any harm. If she were "forced" to live in a modest home/apartment, and to fend for herself (no staff), that would suit me just fine. Her illusions of grandeur gone, she will have her "hot to" books to console her.
She can see what is left of her family any time she chooses. Hopefully, that will include Bobby.
Diana
We can also make the argument that Juan had it in for Miguel, whom he was trying to frame for the human trafficking.
Lillian has no sons, so it's no surprise that she may not be able to relate to little boys, even smart ones like Bobby. And based on what we've seen, she has no real friends either. If she had, she could have learned a bit about this from ones that had sons.
Oh why, oh why didn’t Erica take care of herself? It seems to me that someone with asthma or the likes should have been taking way better care of herself. This is one death I did not want to happen at all because I wanted Miguel and Erica to get married and live happily ever after. I guess there are some people out there who put their lives in jeopardy in favor of their work/business and don’t care what happens to themselves. I don’t usually see women doing that though, mostly men are the ones who don’t take good care of themselves. My son has asthma and he never knowingly will put himself in a situation that will cause him breathing problems. He carries all sorts of meds with him, takes all kinds of stuff and will drive himself to the emergency room when he feels something is wrong. I found it really silly that Erica didn’t have a nebulizer with her. The way they wrote this novela was as though the story happened 50 years ago regarding what appears to be asthma.
DisGrace’s reaction to Erica’s death is further proof of her being a psychopath. Psychopaths have no feelings of empathy and do not sympathize over another person’s tragedy. She really had a “She’s dead, now who cares?” type of attitude. It even shocked Lilian this time.
We do it in everyday ways when we get sick with the flu but still go to work. We don't want to look weak or useless to our bosses.
As I typed the above it also occurred to me that Erika's death and Lillian's reactions to it will provoke the revelation that DisGrace murdered Lisa.
I mean no disrespect to our male friends here. But, I think women are constantly being held to a rather unfair, more demanding standard.
You asked about Erica not having a nebulizer. I can only recall her having it nearby once. I think she loathed the fact she was ill and did not want to be dependent on any help/meds.
I have no doubt the chemicals did her in. She didn't even glove up.
Diana
My suspicion is that DisGonnadie will make it to the very end. She is smart, pretty, and completely without feelings which, unfortunately, will serve her purposes well. I expect her to take out a large number of her 'enemies/competitors/justice seekers' on her way down.
I just wish her and NoJuan's downward spirals could start sooner so we have more time to enjoy what may be the only redeeming part of this show.
Though I admit if something of mine downstairs had gone awry every damn month and I was capable of getting preggers I would have had myself neutered by the time I was 16.
:-)
I don't always like to admit when I'm sick, but that doesn't mean that I won't take precautions. And it ESPECIALLY doesn't mean that I'll do something in an extra-dangerous, off-label way, like preparing a toxic solution indoors when I'm SURE it says all over the container "USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA."
What also pissed me off was that Univision cut the scenes in last night's episode.
Kirby: With Erika now gone, it's looking likely Carito will have Miguel all to herself UGH.
I meant to ask you what the beautiful pink bird was you posted a few days ago (?)
Diana
We'll let Juan and Grace escape in the finale.
Then we'll do a sequel. We'll call it Grape Wars II: The Wrath of Juan.
It will be written by us and we will make sure that the only nonsense in it is the nonsense that we can agree on.
But for real cuteness:
Fuzzy baby Red Tail Hawk
The fuzzy baby red tail hawk is angry.
The pesticide killed the bird's parents and given him mutant powers.
Now he wants justice.
But he doesn't shoot fire out of his mouth. That's so cliche. Instead, his mouth shoots... hmmm... Worms? Grapes? Wine? Olives?
David & co must gain the bird's trust so they can join in the fight against Juan.
Meanwhile, Luci is working at the Sunny Fields winery and couldn't be happier.
I'm not sure where Grace fits into this, TBH. Maybe she's trying to seduce the bird.
Actually feel the remorse of miguel &
Ericka. I hate that they killed her off. When I saw her standing by that
Pesticide I knew she was in trouble. I
Wished she'd stayed away from it.the
Guy was telling her he'd take care of it.But there had to be some collateral damage from juan's evil plan and erika
It was.
Still don't like discrazy.I think little beaubee is gonna catch Tia in a
Lie. Shortly. A lot more sadness before the happy happy endings.
Looks like the mig will have his own vineyard sooner than later. With a empty broken heart:(
Thank you dy77.
LOL! I love your witty parody.
Maybe her ghost and Lisa's can join the fight.
I have also enjoyed the comments. I agree with so many of them.
I wrote a long comment and lost it, so all I will say is that losing a child is very difficult. I have lost many loved ones, my parents, in-laws, relatives, and friends. However, our first baby died unexpectedly the day after he was born , and it was a devastating experience. Parents never really let go of that child. Lilian seemed sincere consoling Adolfo because she had experienced the loss of a daughter.
I've heard from multiple people that losing a child is the worst thing imaginable, and that it is a parent's worst nightmare even if it never happens.
The circumstances of Erika's death were particularly horrible and stupid (as was the decision to hold her wake in the very same room where she had died). I liked Lil's immediate reaction to go to Adolfo. I don't know what her long-term intentions toward him are, but she went to him right away without having to think about it, and didn't even ask him for wine!
Diana
Beyond tacky...
Diana
I've also noticed that there is a canopied entrance in front of their home. How many private homes have this? (Not just a little awning over the doorstep, but a walkway.) Makes it look like a restaurant or hotel, which is probably what that building is in real life.
'decision to hold her wake in the very same room where she had died" They don't call it the Multi Purpose Room for nothing now do they?
Ah, Vino, yes, the budget must have been non-existant. You mean they couldn't even go to a church or, yes, funeral home or even a lovely spot under a tree near the vineyard. Sad.
Well, Susanlynn, as you and others noted, the institution of marriage took a heavy hit in this production and the death of Erica is another blow against it. Miguel proposes and less than a week later the bride to be bites the (contaminated) dust HARD! Not only did this group flunk their SATs, they witnessed growing up or personally experienced some scarring marriages! Jeeze Louise!
Maybe it's supposed to be both the house and the winery. I'm not sure if that would work, but we have already suspended disbelief so much that a little more won't matter.
So sorry to read that, Susanlynn. I'm glad you had such great family and friends to help you.
I still think that Luci must end up with the star..GS. I am not so happy about Carito ending up with Miguel, but perhaps the writers think that she should be rewarded for being used by Perla and Juan and threatened by Marked.
One thing about this show is that it has me wondering how everything will be resolved.
I hope that we will be rewarded with a good show to follow and that most of the folks here stay around. Is it going to be "Double Life?". I would get lonely all alone outside detention hall , and Outlander does not start until September, so I need a good (or really bad) telenovela to keep me occupied until then.
Another gorgeous day here sunny and clear after a gray, drizzly morning start.
Susanlynn, yes, Double Life has already been advertised and is starting on May 8! Several La Malquerida folks so I'm definitely on board!
Diana
But not to worry, your secret is safe with me :)
Diana
Kirby...Thanks for the flowers. It was a long time ago. The wound becomes a scab and then a scar. We all have our scars. They make us who we are.
(Ew, apparently it happens. I made the mistake of looking on Google.)
I was googling last night and found a list of animals and birds that mate for life. Bald eagles are in the list. No snakes. Then, I was researching elephants.. Fascinating animals.
Welski...Erica bit the parasite infected dust and I am shocked I tell you..Shocked! NOT!
Who didn't see this dumb twist coming, with all the profession of love and her labored breathing the last few days. Do I feel bad? Nope..dumb broad was a hot whiny mess and instead of saving her lungs for the man she loved, she wanted to get out there and do Miggy's job for him because she got the mirror ball wine glass trophy and damnit..she wasn't about to let her winning product be taken from her. Add to that while she lay dying she kept wheezing and blathering on instead of just laying there and being quiet and preserving what lung capacity she had left. On and on she went...life is so unfair, why can't I live? Why did this have to happen? Oh my love..oh blah blah blah. All the while I'm rolling my eyes saying GO ALREADY! Into the light..GO! Ay ay ay! Such drama and long goodbyes!
You know what I did enjoy? Dudveed finally sucker punching NoJuan in those fat ugly lips of his. I wish he would have kept pummeling him to death until he was nothing more than a smashed up wet pumpkin head. DIE and be GONE NoJUAN!
DisGrace continues to show her cold ass doesn't she? She dropped the news about Erica like it was no big deal to Lilian. What did she think the reaction was going to be? Her mother has a long standing friendship with the girls father. I found myself very moved by Lilian reaching out to Adolfo and sharing her feelings regarding losing Lisa. I personally have never lost a child, but I've lost two sibling and it's very fresh in my mind and watching my mother grieve. Lil was right, just because you have other children it doesn't ease the pain. I can't imagine how Lil is going to lose her f'ing mind when she learns her surviving child is the reason her other beloved child is dead. Condolences to you SusanLynn.
I personally don't care to see Carito with Mig. I'm not a fan of Mig's but he deserves better than her. Furthermore, just because she's repented of her choices doesn't mean she should be rewarded. Like Marta with Ramon, if the sparks had been there, Mig would have noticed her a long time ago. The writers need to stop trying to make 'fetch' happen with Ramon and Carito. Let Marta and Mig just remain single. This love the one you're with..just cause it's what's there and convenient never works.
I do like that Lucia and Mig have remained friends. Let's just keep it that way.
Country and that's where she thrived.
Taking care of her inheritance and she
Loved that land, and her and migeul also fell in love there in that office
So, that's where the last goodby is said. Now he's gonna inherit that vine
Yard. And he and duhveed will be BFFs.
But only after jkuan is no more. Well
That's my thinking anyway.
One Punch Chump !
About as believable as Erika reciting Elizabeth Barrett Browning's complete works on her deathbed when she can't even breathe.
Kirbo
As for Erica, I just wanted this chick to STFU! She kept crying and wheezing and talking..no matter how many times Smug told her to stay quiet, but no..in true form she had to talk and whine him to death. I was never so glad to see it be over as when she finally died. Gravy! Such a promising character ended up becoming a tiresome whiny insecure bore.
Susanlynn I am sorry for your loss. I felt Lilian's sincerity as well.
Lila, sorry didn't get a chance to see full episodes; only what I found on YT.
;D
