Amar a Muerte, 11/21/2018, Episode 16: I kissed a Girl...and I Liked It

Recap by Kirby J

Crap, they are still kissing.  Oh no! she asks why he kissed her...he's crazy! Just then LuciHo gets a phone call from Johny who asks if she is still at the embassy. He asks her to go over to his house, but she is too tired. She tells Leo to take her home. So Hon, how tired are you?

Val and Guilly finally having a heart to heart talk. Vale tells Guil that she was dumb to do what she did; she was lucky that Jacobo was there .They talk about Jacobo (LeonChi). Guil feels some type of connection with him too.  He then asks what he can do to make Val feel better. Val doesn’t know how he and Eva are able to cope with their father's death; they don’t seem as affected as she is. Guil shares that when their Mom died, he felt the same way as Val is feeling now. He shows her a book that helped him through that time; it is Camilo's book. Val points out that their father never believed in it; he just published the book because Camilo was his friend.

Lupita and Juli arrive home where Pancho is waiting for Lupi.  He just wanted to stop by to say hello. He brought her tangerines since she used to like them so much. He then asks if what Juli said is true...that she is married to a murderer. When she nods, Pancho wonders if she came looking for him; so Lupita tells him that her husband got in trouble and left them behind; she came so that he could take responsibility for his family.  .

Beltrino back in town and talks to Barbara the fortune teller; he brought along the kid Sammy.  Beltrino gives Sammy to Barbara and tells her that he is his nephew. He will pay her to take care of him. She tells him he is cray cray.  Oh Boy #1

Mateo and Eva arguing about Gaston getting whacked.  Mateo can’t believe that he had just been talking to Gaston and now he is dead. Eva tells him "I told you so'" She warns him that Gaston isn’t the first one to be murdered by the narcos and he won’t be the last. They argue and he tells her he is ashamed of his wife; so she tells him that he knows where the door is.   So Mat, exactly WHY did you marry this bitch, as a public service, so she would not marry anyone else?

Don Valerio (Chamois) goes to ask Rosita for Beltran’s whereabouts. When she refers to Beltrino as a professor he wonders why she is referring to him as a professor; he tells her that Beltrino is fooling them…he is not who he says he is. Later, Valerio tells his daughter that if they call the cops, things will get worse. She asks him to use his magic, but Valerio tells her he doesn't do black magic. He then tells her to leave him alone; he is going to have a consultation with Father Fire.  Oh Boy #2

Beltrino finally gets home and Alicia wants to know where he has been.  He tells the new cleavage friendly Alicia that he was busy.  Beltrino and Alicia argue when Javi interrupts. When Beltrino asks how he is, Javi says he is happy now because he is home. Just then, Valerio calls and after he tells Beltrino that he will send the cops to his job, Beltrino threatens that then he will never see his grandson again. After he hangs up, Beltrino chides Alicia for listening in…not even his wife would do that. Alicia reminds him that SHE is his wife.

LeonChi and LuciHo arrive home after dark.  They have a flirtacious little chat on the steps.  She tells him that what happened tonight didn’t happen, he needs to forget it. He wonders if she will forget it. He calls her back to ask a favor: Before going to her bedroom, can she go by Val's to see how she is?   Lu agrees.

Valerio has his consultation.   He asks for guidance as to how to get his grandson back.  He hears shots as he has a vision of Chino doing the assassination of the judge…and Valerio is visibly shocked.

LuciHo goes in to check on Val. Val is reading Cam's book. After Luciho wonders why she is still awake, Val tells her she looks nice. Luciho then asks her how she is; and Val responds that she is better… the book is helping her. Val would like to believe that her father is watching her all the time and that he is taking care of her. Luciho then tells Val that she will always be there for whatever. Val thanks her and they hug as Val cries on her shoulder.

LeonChi goes to see Camilo and tells him about the impressive kiss. Leonchi is happy because his revenge has started. Cam thinks he is still in love with LuciHo.   Meanwhile LuciHo is in a bubble bath thinking about the KISS.  We can’t see her hands.

At his home, Mateo is nervous as he thinks about his conversation with Gaston about getting tickets for some event.  Meanwhile Eva finishes her bath when Alacran and Rabbit 2.0 call Eva to murmur sweet nothings I presume.  Like. “Want to be next bitch? But no, he wants to see her...he needs to see her tomorrow. She reminds him that Gaston's funeral is tomorrow so he tells her to come afterwards...and he is not asking!   Oh Boy #3

Fabian enters a club and meets with his PI. He asks why they are meeting there so PI tells him that Chino's type would hang out in a place like that.  Lupi who is working at said club recognizes Fabian and panics. She tells the other waitress to take care of Fabian and PI.

Valerio’s daughter asks him if he knows what he will do…she wants to go to the cops. He tells her that the fire told him that Beltrino is a murderer, so he could kill his grandson. They need to be careful.

Camilo tells Leonchi about Karla...she commited suicide and now has visions and sensations about it.   Then we see Karla in that same bar and Lady Death is there too. Karla starts shaking and runs out.

Mateo looks at a picture where Gaston is part of the group, then at the article Gaston wrote. He says "I will find you." as Eva watches.

Lupita is still sort of hiding from Fabian and the PI  and asks the waitress if she could overhear what the men were saying. The waitress tells her they are looking for a man. No, not like THAT.  One particular man, it’s for work.  She then asks Lupita why she is staring at them; so Lupita tells her she thinks she knows one of them from a long time ago.

Juli raises the volume of the TV while the landlady sleeps. She then gets one of her magazines and sees an article about the Carvajal's as she recognizes Val in the pic.   Oh Boy # 4

Val tells Guil that the book is hard to believe. They talk about some story of a woman who claims to have known Pancho Villa. Val wants to believe that what the book says is true...she wants to find her father. Guil tells her to talk to Camilo.   Oh Boy #5

LeonChi and Camilo still talking.  Camilo needs to talk before Leonchi starts drinking; he wants to hypnotize Leonchi. Leo shares that after seeing Val in her condition, he would have liked to be Leon for just a moment.

Beltrino remembers being with the Chamois Valerio and then yells at his new boobage improved wife.  Alicia comes to give him his pills, but he refuses to take them because he is very heathy and does not need medicine. She then shows him the pills and tells him what they are for. He insists that he is healthy and yells that's his head is filled with his problems.  Alicia wants to know where his old self is…the one who would talk to her about literature and opera. After she leaves, she cries .  Two words Ali:  Baker Act

Under hypnosis, Leonchi relives the night Leon was murdered.  We see the spirit leaving his body and the bright white light.  Leo has a vision of his wedding. Camilo asks what he feels when he sees Luciho, but Leo continues that he sees Johny and recalls being stabbed. He then recalls being in the hospital room and then his spirit coming out of him. He sees a peaceful light and he walks toward it. Leonchi then wakes up breathing heavily.

Karla is back home now with her Dad.  Her father asks how she is. She is trying to sleep. After he leaves she stares at Camilo's card.

Leonchi wonders how Camilo can be so surprised with what happened. They talk about feeling peace. Leonchi then tells him he had never felt so much at peace. He saw a huge white light, but doesn’t remember anything else.  After Leonchi leaves to go to bed, Camilo sees the moth where Leonchi was sitting. They're everywhere! Who you gonna call? Moth busters!

LuciHo is DREAMING about that kiss, and as she opens her eyes, it is Leon 1.0.  She wakes up startled.

Leonchi thinks about how his vengeance plot begins. Moth again…

Next Morning—

Beltrino and Alicia finish their “session.” Phone rings and Barbara asks when he will come for the little devil. She tells him she is going to charge him by the hour. She then tells him that the kid broke her crystal ball. We see that the place looks like a tornado came through.

Camilo gets a call from Karla. She needs to see him.

As LuciHo is starting her day to leave for “work” I guess, Frau shows Leonchi the article about Goston being killed. Leo makes a remark and Frau wonders if he knows Gaston; so Leonchi tells him he has heard others talk about him. LuciHo then comes out and Frau asks if she is satisfied with Jacobo's work, but she avoids the question and tells him they will talk later.  Luciho and Leonchi then greet each other. She asks what is wrong so he tells her he couldn't sleep. He can’t stop thinking about her and he thinks she is feeling the same way.

Oh Boy Stay Tuned

Calling bluff to Leonchi's revenge! It's obvious the chipmunk faced Luci-ho is gonna get redeemed. A sucker falls every minute, and apparently it'll happen twice in a lifetime. She throws him a bone, and he's running after those sloppy seconds. Won't believe any of the revenge unless she starts looking distraught and tormented. I actually find the Jacobo/Luci-ho pairing off and rather blah. She plays way too overtly sexual and he's like a sick puppy dog moping after her everytime. It's likely the Leonchi character, not the actor. What would her reaction have been if he had rebuffed her instead?

Lupe gives off J-Lo Maid in Manhattan vibes. The man who's interested in her (?) has a point regarding her devout attachment to Chino. She has no self-esteem. And is an accomplice to murder if she was always aware of his doings and living off that money. Oh but then there's the fact that she maintained the household when he was gone for months at a time? She needed to walk away with Juliana in a baby carrier a long long time ago. Has it been cleared whether Juliana is Chino's daughter? Judging from lupe's flashback, it seems like she most likely isn't. But anyway, how pathetic of her to chase after a man who really doesn't seem to care about them. This character along with Juliana are still a waste of screentime so far.

Que sexual tension!!! Luci and Leonchi will burn covers next time.

Lilly

Good Morning Patio!! Thank you, Kirby, for crafting this very entertaining and comprehensive recap. Drop in quickly to wish every a glorious Thanksgiving Day and share my thanks related to this blog. I give thanks for...

* finding Caray, Caray...it took me some time but I found it.
* being blessed with this "virtual family" (thanks, JudyB) who welcomed me with open arms and generous hearts.
* being provided the opportunity to share our thoughts, perceptions and ideas...whether they were OnT or not :-)
* the gradual return of one of our beloved virtual sisters, Susanlynn, who is healing from the loss of the love of her life

Will comment later on the episode.

Can you tell I was rushing earlier? I only missed/misspelled a couple of words...oh my! But you all know what I meant to say.

Now back to the show--

Anon 11:37, You're probably right about Luciho, but I want to see LOTS of tears and suffering before that happens...and she really needs to do some really good things to show that she is worthy of a good man...and that includes not being Lu-so-easy. And tha man who is interested in Lupita is Pancho, a long-time friend from high school who seems to have been her boyfriend back then. He is married with children now . I don't know how he is able to get away from the grips of his very jealous wife since the first time Lupita went looking for him, she came outside right away with claws and fangs ready to attack...and Pancho retreated into his house like a whipped puppy dog.

Lilly, Welcome! I think you've been commenting for a while, but you had never written signed your name; thank you for doing that. It's always nice to distinguish those who participate. Sexual tension to the max...and it was even quite evident the first time they laid eyes on each other...when Leonchi arrived asking for a job.

I feel so sorry for Val. She is completely lost without her father, but it looks like Camilo's book is bringing her solace. I'm wondering if that is a real book; it sounds interesting. Guil seems to be a pretty good brother...the one good side of him. I do hope Val finds solace in believing that her father is close to her and that he is watching and protecting her (though he really is there and both Guil and Val feel that connection!). I know from experience that that kind of thinking does bring some solace. When my mother passed on, I felt that she was always with me wherever I would go an in whatever I would do...and I still "feel" her presence most of the time.

REMINDER: No Tn tonight. We're being preempted by "Dando gracias en familia con NBL" RATS!!

Aw Man ! That NBL is like the over ripe turkey you thought you had thrown out, only to find it still in the refrigerator every time you open it. Like 'Groundhog Day',

Chipmunk? Genius..............

just a couple of comments...I loved the red dress Lucia was wearing..hot..hot..hot!.. not so much with the white dress..ugh! If you're on Facebook, there's a couple of pages for this TN ...I saw a video clip on Nov. 18th...... where Lucia answers several questions regarding her character.. quite interesting..FYI... it's the facebook page that has the most following...
Also would like to ask.. is this TN taking place in Mexico as well as in San Antonio.. I understood that Beltran is a professor at one of the university in S.A. But what I see..nothing looks like Texas...
Lastly, thanks to all who recap...great job! Elsa

E ! Yes, both in Mexico and San Antonio. They usually put up a little caption along the bottom of the screen to let us know which 'place' they are in.

The original Chino and his 'Wife and daughter' Lupita and Juli were in or near San Antonia and the Carvajal clan in Mexico.

Elsa, I'm so glad you're watching this; welcome to the patio. To reiterate what Kirby wrote, the TN is taking place in San Antonio and Mexico City. Right now, most of the characters are in Mexico City. I think the only ones left in San Antonio are the Cartel Boss and Fabian's family. Beltran teaches at a university in Mexico City.

I liked the red dress too; the white dress was mehhh, but that outfit Luciho was wearing at the end of this episode was gray and very conservative..not very flattering at all.

I also have seen the Facebook pages. There are some that upload the complete episodes within an hour (sometimes minutes) after the show ends. I usually have to do a search though because the uploads are usually not consistently by the same person.

I loved Michele Brown in Pasión de Gavilanes. That version was much better than FELS for steamy sex scenes.

Its going to be hard to watch MB, with his 10 on scrub. This guy was gorgeous in PDF.

RGV Chick, Kirby, Victoria, Madam, Lily & everybody else: Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from the Boudreaux's of San Antonio, TX to your families!!!!!!!

Victoria, I didn’t see Pasión de Gavilanes, but I still think Michel is hawt...and I don’t say that very often about the current galans. If the eyes don’t “speak” to me, then I’m not too interested. Example: Sebastian Rulli-great body, but his eyes don’t have that “look” that tends to attract my attention.

Steve, thank you; hope you and your family had a wonderful day.

Thank you, Kirby, you were spot on, like always. So where were Lucia's hands while she was taking her bath, anyway? (LOL)

I feel bad for Val, but she will probably be the first one to find out who Jacobo really is. She could even become an ally in his revenge, considering that she and Lucia have an established bond.

What is wrong with Beltran, kidnapping a child? Yeah, he's a murderer, but isn't he changing? What does he hope to accomplish, anyway?

Leonchi is fooling himself if he thinks he can turn off his feelings for Lucia so fast. I don't believe him for one bit. I need to see him start doing nasty revengy stuff, and for Lucia to be in a lot of pain, like RGV says, before all is said and done.

Gotta run now, but a Happy belated Thanksgiving to all my American friends. The Holidays are just around the corner!! Hohoho!! (nothing to do with Lucia, but she does look great in red).

Good morning all. Way too busy to check in during Thanksgiving, but for all of you who want to see Lucia punished, I think her "punishment" will be deeply cruel indeed. She will fall in love with the updated version of Léon and then this fabulous guy will be brutally killed by the cartel who think he is actually Chino. Now you can't get any more heartbreaking and punitive than that, can you? (no, I don't know the plot, but I'm guessing this is how it will go. Lemon studios isn't into happy endings.

That being said, I intend to enjoy their incipient romance to the max since I believe it will end all too soon. She had an absolute nightmare of an adolescence so I'd be quite happy to see her enjoy wealth and a hot love affair for a while.

Now off to rake leaves. We have a huge pin oak that covers our lawn with leaves every few days. But good to get outside after a few days of cooking and cleaning.

Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was satisfying. We can all be thankful for friends and family and this virtual community.

Kirby--You certainly do have a way with words, fun to read and re-read. Thank you. I was hoping you had caught what Leonchi said right after LuciHo asked why he had kissed her and before he told her she could fire him that instant (I had to keep rewinding umpteen million times, but could never decipher it). I DID think it was a bit hypocritical of LuciHo to ask that question, since she not only invited him to kiss her, egged him on asking for answers to her questions about herself and moving ever closer to him. He didn't budge. She's the one who put her face and lips up to his. He was merely responding to her advances.

I did notice that when Johny called, he pulled her in close. She didn't move away and it was obvious she was rattled, but...hmmm, did he pull her in close to try to hear what Johny was saying? I wouldn't put it past him.

We know everything else that's going on inside Beltino's head, so why don't we know his reason for kidnapping little Sammy. Insurance? For what? What else can Valerio do for him anyway. If Beltino continues to slip up with Alicia, she's going to start connecting the random dots of his bizarre new behavior--he's not the same guy he was before the accident.

Unless both El Chino and Beltino die at the same time, we'll have another bodyless spirit floating around.

That Juli reunion with her putative papi is getting closer. Will she really recognize the newly minted, suave, calm, ladies man with an upper class haircut and suit? Of course, Leonchi won't recognize her at all.

JudyB--I empathize with you over your pin oak--although they are magnificent specimens when fully grown. My neighbor's willow oak is now nearly 80 years old and he gets nary a leaf in his yard. The wind ever blows my way and I get them in batches, too, and they are so hard to rake up. I'm not complaining--the shade it offers all spring, summer and fall are worth every downed leaf (and they make great mulch, too).

Thanks Anita.
When you kiss a woman you shouldn't be kissing they ALWAYS tell you it never happened, to forget it.

And in the next breath ask when it is not going to happen again.

You Girls....................:-)

Interesting insight Kirby and my apologies, I forgot to thank you for the recap and all the humor you put into your writing. So glad you have come on board as a recapper.

thanks Kirby & Rgv Chick for the clarification.. got a bit confused with all the "transmigration"... Can wait for tonight's episode...Just to let the recappers know.. I'm sure many are reading your recaps..just don't comment for one reason or another.. Elsa

Just an FYI--UA had asked how many episodes this TN has. I just read an article that indicated it has 87 episodes.

Michel Brown seems more real, down to earth and personable. Sebastian Rulli on the other hand seems agrandado, like he won't give people the time of day. Angelique Boyer gives off the same vibe as him.

Anon 1:41, exactly! The most beautiful/handsome people can de very unattractive if they don’t have the personality to match.

OT- For those of you who are early afternoon TN watchers, there is a new TN starting on Dec. 3rd, “En Tierras Salvajes,” starring Claudia Álvarez and Horacio Pancheri. Also in the cast are Cesar Evora and Daniela Romo. Plot is interesting. This TN will replace “El Vuelo de la Victoria” at 3:00 pm (E)

How's this?

OMGoodness Kirby, that is awesome!!

Hope Susanlynn gets to see it since she so loves the moon.

Thanks, kirby, I saw that beautiful full moon when The left my daughter's house tonight.

Oh goody goody, you did see it. I put it up thinking of how you luuurve moon shots.

Actually, it was Ms. RGV Chik's idea. Glad you like it.

The moon is so full right now that it lights up the sky.

Susanlynn, the clouds are hiding the moon here, but I’m so glad you are enjoying it and its effects.

Someone mentioned a few days ago how to watch this novela online through YouTube, Facebook, or DailyMotion.

I'm not very good at doing searches, but would you be kind of thoughtful and post again, or PM me?
