Amar a Muerte, 11/5/2018, Episode 6: Haunting Memories OR Leonchi Cleans Up Well…RAWWR!

·        Camilo is at the police station explaining to a female cop that Jacobo Reyes is his patient; he suffers from schizophrenia. The cop then goes to check on the bail.

·        Renata goes to a vendor and asks if he saw where Guil went. The vendor tells her he took a taxi and left.

·        A male cop tells Camilo that they can’t set bail for Jacobo because they have to confirm if Jacabo and Mauricio “El Chino” Valdez are the same person since they found that the fingerprints are the same.

·        The Inspector goes to see Eva to ask her some questions. He wants to know who could be Leon’s enemies since Leon was one of the richest men in Mexico. Eva responds that her father had no enemies; he just had adversaries. After she insinuates that Lucia should be a suspect, the Inspector mentions Johny’s statement that Leon was going to run for president. Eva denies that her father wanted to be president and doesn’t know what that has to do with anything. She then asks the Inspector if he suspects her and reiterates that the only suspect is Lucia. The Inspector then wants to know why she doesn’t like Lucia and points out that Lucia got to marry Leon. Whenhe asks why Lucia would want to kill her father, Eva tells him to go figure it out.

·        Mateo meets up with Guil who is entering his office. Mateo heard about his little speech at the board meeting and is in total agreement with him. When Guil asks if the newspaper will investigate his father’s murder, Mateo assures him that it is; and he is on the investigative team...they will find his father's murderer.

·        Renata stomps into the building quite angry because Guil left her behind. He coworker wonders why she is so upset, so Renata tells her that Guil is just so strang. The coworker smiles and warns Renata not to fall in love with her boss…she will end up with a broken heart and no job.

·        Beltino watches a video of his lecture with Octavio and listens as he talks about the body and the soul. He needs Octavio’s help to figure out the life of this skinny one. When Octavio tells him he can count on him, Beltino is surprised since he busted his lip. Octavio tells him that he has now paid him back for what happened 20 years ago.

·        Alacran goes to a market where Lupita’s cousin works. Lupita and Juli are there and see him looking at them; so they start running away. Several people are in the way, so a goon shoots up in the air to clear the area. Lupita and Juli continue to run off until they find the cousin and tell him someone wants to kill them.

·        A male cop explains to Camilo that his patient is being detained there. Camilo tries to reason with him to let Leonchi out on bail. When the cop points out that Interpol is looking for El Chino, Camilo tells him that Interpol can make mistakes; his patient is ill…he certainly wouldn’t ruin his career for a murderer. Camilo then asks if this can be fixed some other way.

·        Lupita and Juli crawl under some tables as Alacran goes to the cousin to ask if he has seen Lupita. Just then, Alacan spots Lupita and Juli. As he walks toward them, the cousin tries to stop them and ends up getting shot.

·        Camilo and Leonchi walk out of the building. Someone must have a nice wad of money in his pocket. Camilo can’t believe how much “bail” he paid. When Leo worries that Lucia is being attacked by the media. Camilo has an idea of what Leonchi can do next.

·        In SA, Alacran walks after the girls looking for them when the cops arrive. After Alacran leaves, Lupita and Juli come out from under some sacks.

·        Lucia is being prepared for her interview. When done, Carlos takes Lucia to the stage. As they walk, Lucia has a flashback of walking the streets and cries. Carlos tells her that her makeup is streaked so he calls someone to come fix it.

·        Johny goes to see Lucia in her office, but she’s not there. When Rosalita, the secretary, tells him Lucia is going to do an interview that she requested for herself, Johny gets in Rosalita’s face and tells her that she is supposed to tell him everything that goes on…that is why he has her there.

·        In SA, Lupita tells Juli that they need to head to Mexico since Chino is over there.

·        The interview begins and the host introduces Lucia who doesn’t mind being called the “Widow of Mexico.” She starts by talking about Leon…what a great man he was and his goals to help people. Johny is pleased with what she is saying. As the host asks that she talk about herself, Leonchi and Camilo watch Lucia’s interview. When the host mentions that some consider her a threat, Lucia responds that she was a woman in love who was hit hard by life. Meanwhile, Eva claps sarcastically and calls Lucia the Black Widow. She laughs because she thinks Lucia has never worked a day in her life. When the host mentions the social media and asks how she would respond to what they are saying. Lucia knows there are many who want to offend her because she was comes from a poor background, but those people are only offending themselves. She admits that she had a humble childhood. She didn’t have a happy childhood either...that is why she is grateful to be able to move forward and succeed with her family. The only thing she wants is peace for her family and to be allowed to mourn in peace. She wants respect from the people.

·        Beltino and Javi are playing video games. Beltino wishes he had these games when he was young. When he asks Javi how he feels, Javi replies that he doesn’t even feel like he is sick. Beltino assures him he will get well.

·        Leonchi watches as the interview continues. When the host asks about all the criticism of her marriage, Lucia replies that she was in love with a generous, kind individual who was always thinking about others. She needs her great love. The host then asks her what she would tell the reporters who are dissing her. Lucia responds that she is not going to try to defend herself to the reporters; she is going to allow the public to come to their own conclusions.  After the interview concludes, the host tells her she was brilliant and hugs her. Johny also approaches and praises Lucia, but when she walks away, he warns the host that next time he hugs Lucia like that, he will run him off.

·        Guil walks by Val’s room as she watches a video of her father. He hadn’t seen that video in a long time. They make fun of each other’s looks back them. When Guil tells her she can’t stay locked up in her room and that she needs to go out with her friend since this is not the way to honor their father. Val doesn’t know how; Guil doesn’t either, but they will figure it out.

·        Johny is with Lucia in her office. He closes the blinds and starts kissing her, but she recalls Leon wanting to make love there and stops Johny…it’s too risky there. Just then, Camilo calls and congratulates her for her interview. She appreciates his opinion. Camilo then tells her that he knows someone who would be perfect as her new chauffeur…to protect her and be her personal chauffeur. With all that is going on, she will need someone who can protect her. Lucia agrees to interview this great person early tomorrow early. After she hangs up, Johny grabs Lucia and kisses her; meanwhile, Leonchi thanks Camilo.

·        Beltino has a nightmare with flashbacks of Leon’s life. When Alicia wakes him up, he tells her about it. Meanwhile, Leo is in bed also having flashbacks of Chino’s life and the assassination. Camilo comes in and Leonchi tells him that he was having a horrible nightmare…being in his new body is one thing, but having a new head/brain is scary.

·        Camilo shows Leonchi his resumé which depicts Jacobo as a very boring person. After Leonchi looks to see how many Jacobo Reyes are listed on the internet, he finds that there are several. Leonchi then talks a pic of himself to  and plans to create a social media account since he knows what Frauvicio??? will be looking for.

·        OMG! Leonchi arrives in a suit and looks HAWT! I’d hire him in a NY minute! No questions asked! After he introduces himself and shows the Frau, the head security his resumé, Frau asks if they know each other, but Leonchi tells him he has never been to that house (true…his body has never been there).  Frau lets him in since Lucia is waiting for him. As they walk toward the house, Leonchi sees the gardener and has a flashback of talking to him. The gardener keeps looking at him as if he senses his familiarity. As he waits for Lucia, Leonchi has  more flashbacks of his time with his family. Lucia walks down the stairs leaving Leonchi speechless

·        Leonchi continues to look at Lucia and steps closer to her. When Lucia steps back, he apologizes. Lucia then asks what makes him so special as a chauffeur. Leonchi replies that he will protect her and Leon's children as if protecting his own life. When he mentions that he worked for Camilo for a while, Lucia asks why he stopped working there; so he responds that he had some problems and had to leave the city.  After he assures her that he will not try to defraud her, Lucia tells Frauvicio to check all the info on Leonchi; if everything checks out, then Jacoboa can be hired. Leonchi then thanks her and leaves.  “The Voice” is heard saying “Death has a plan for everyone; don't underestimate it.”

·        As Leonchi leaves, Max, the dog, comes running to him and Leonchi starts playing with him. When Frau asks how he knew the dog’s name, Leonchi replies that he heard the dog being called. Leonchi then greets Celina by name and tells her that Guerra he told him her name. As Lucia walks by, she notes that he is good with animals…only Leon could handle Max.

·        Alacran arrives in Mexico…he is not going to leave Mexico until he finds El Chino.

·        Beltino and Alicia finish off their quickie in the bathroom. She tells him he needs to go to work, but Beltino is not ready…he still doesn’t feel well and needs to rest. After she tells him tha he needs to keep in good standing with the university since they are supposed to help him get funds for Javi's medical needs, she asks him to do it for Javi.

·        Lupita takes Juls to where she works. Juli now knows why Lupita never brought her to her workplace since it is a bar. Juli then goes to Lupita’s boss to ask for the money that he owes Lupita. As he starts to refuse, a fight ensues; so the boss goes to stop it. Once alone, Juli grabs some money and runs off to give it to Lupita and tells her they need to get out of there before things get worse.

Thanks, Rgv, I haven't watched yet, but your preview is great, I can't wait to see "Jacobo" with my own eyes.
Was Lucia already looking flustered or she's not there, yet?

Gotta appreciate Mexican police, allowing an Interpol suspect to go just because his psychiatrist asks them nicely... and has deep pockets.

I hope I can get back later, after I watch.

Okay, I'm getting in line to see the new hawt Leonchi. And yes, thank goodness for corruptible police and doctors, at least in telenovela land. Although alas, one can find corruptible people everywhere. Was wondering how "Jacobo" could manage to get out of police custody but problem solved!

Always sad to see the collateral damage in these stories. The man who kindly helped Leonchi escape to Mexico was tortured, and the good cousin who tried to help Lupita and Juli was killed. Alas, again, such things happen in real life. Was horrified by the good little girl scouts and mentor who were killed as they were picking up trash on the highway. All it takes is one young drunken driver.

Thanks so much for launching this RgvChick. It's so much more fun to watch it with the patio rather than all by myself.

Well, off to vote today. Wishing everyone a good Tuesday and if you haven't voted already, please do.

Ladies, you will not be disappointed...and oh those so blue eyes...YUMMM!! So I guess you all can tell which was my favorite scene, huh? :-)

Adriana, the gardener, Frau (security) and Celvina all seemed to sense something about "Jacobo"...as if they knew him. And OMG, when the dog ran to Leonchi, both owner and dog were so happy...one of my fav scenes! It was hard to tell with Lucia, I din;t know if she was just mesmerized by the blue eyes or distracted by how close Jacobo wanted to get to her (he made a couple of attempts to get closer to her, but she looked uncomfortable so he kept his distance), but I think she also sensed something.

I'm already thinking of anvils for Alacran...like being thrown in a pit with huge, deadly scorpions! He and his goons just walk into a place and start shooting it up; how is it that the cops haven't arrested them yet?

I wasn't actually expecting that cop to accept the bribe so quickly! So how did he manage to have released Leonchi so quickly? No one questioned his actions? Oh well, the writers said so, right?

I laugh when Beltino criticizes his new "skinny" body; though it hasn't stopped him at all from using it to have his fun with Alicia. I do, however, really enjoy seeing Beltino with Javi who seems to be reveling his new dad.

Pati-OOOHH! We have a full and TOTALLY AWESOME recap team! Here it is:

Monday: Urban Anthropologist
Tuesday: Princess Juju
Wednesday: Kirby
Thursday; Rgv Chick
Friday: Jardinera

Be nice and feed the recappers! Dark chocolate and Doritos are good for me :-)

RGV: "fun with Alicia". Hmmm so is she technically being unfaithful?
Thank you so much for your recrap. And double thanks for putting all this together.

Now. How much longer will a Noveau Riche Lucia let JohnywhoIhateimmensly treat her like his most expensive mare in the barn? He made it so clear that the numbnuts reporter was on thin ice for only huuuuggggin her.

What adds fuel to the plot fire is that each transpirited man has memories from both the spirit which has come to dwell in his body as well as a few vestigial memories from his former self, so to speak. Or on second thought, at least LeonChi is for sure having them, as he for sure remembers his house, wife and dog, etc. etc. as well as his new spirit assassinating the judge. I'm not sure, actually, about Beltrino though.

Hey, what are we naming the death lady?

Kirby, "What adds fuel to the plot fire is that each transpirited man has memories from both the spirit which has come to dwell in his body as well as a few vestigial memories from his former self" That was one of the most intriguing parts of last night. How long will it be before Leonchi and Beltino are overwhelmed by the thoughts and memories of the body that the spirit occupies? It would be interesting to see how the bodies and souls struggle to control the other.

If Johny is so possessive of Lucia; how could he contain himself knowing that she was with Leon...or maybe tha is why he was in such a hurry to get rid of Leon?

How about Deadra for a name for Death lady? And what shall we call that deep voice thatt comes on once in while with notions about death.

wstudios really must like arturo barba bc he's been in every production they've done. Besides la piloto 2 bc he died in the first season, otherwise hes been en la piloto, LBYLB, and now AAM. just noticed this!

see yall on wed. Happy election day!

Anon 11:59, I didn't know that Barba had been in La Piloto 1 (because I didn't watch it); good observation!

Oh yes, "see' you Wednesday since the show is being pre-empted tonight.

Hello, I recently just found this page, and I thought to join in the discussion....Loving how the story is developing. Angelique Boyer and Michel Brown are the main reason I'm watching this. Loved Lucia and Jacobo's first meeting, I thought it was funny how the first thing he wanted to do was to give her a kiss (or so it seemed), and how professional she was trying to act, but you could tell that he was already leaving an impression on her. I can't wait for episode 7 to see how their story carries on from here.
Thank you for your recap Rgv Chick...Will be tuning in on this forum.

Benny

Deadra is good with me. Deadalicious just would not work. Pronounced like it looks, Dead-dra. with a long a.at the end.
And for that scary voice it may take a village to name it.

'Voice' is real simple
Doom is alright too.
The Grave
Darkness

Anon: Yep he must be a staple actor with W and Lemon. He was excellent in the first La Piloto. He was despicable in LBYLB too. And it must be hard to find a lot of actors who are eight friggin feet tall. That makes him scary right there.

Arturo Barba played a sweet, shy, somewhat klutzy guy in Juan Querendón so it freaks me out a little bit to see him playing villains, but he does it well.

Benny, WELCOME!! Glad you found the page. This is a fun group who enjoys sharing their thoughts and insights as the story unfolds. It's always nice to know the different perspectives that the participants have; sometimes we agree...other times we agree to disagree :-)

What I like about this page is that it is a spoiler-free zone; so we only discuss what is aired in a current or past episode. Looking forward to your comments!

Thank you for the warm welcome

Benny

I thought the speech that Lucia gave was very cookie cutter. So much bs on her humble origins and the working class. Then you have Leon showing up at her home for the job opportunity, and she was snooty as heck the entire time. Bet you he never saw that side of his beloved before.

Can't wait for when Leon meets Johnny too. He's going to be doubly disappointed when Johnny treats him like dirt for being the chauffeur. Or just plain lower class. Johnny is already letting go of his façade. Is he going to reveal himself to the children soon? Or marry Lucia and let it go from there?

Maybe Johnny did kill Leon too soon out of jealousy. Settling for 25% of the estate doesn't make sense.

Yeah I am waiting for LeonChi to see the true Johny and Lucia, and especially for him to realize that those two planned his murder. It will be bad enough as he sees how haughty those two are to him, but to have him killed should be the last nail in their coffins.

When that happens the frustrating thing is he can't just say, "Sorpresa, I'm alive, and I want you out of my house." because legally he actually IS dead. For ME, that would drive me stark raving mad. You know like killing people who did it to me stark raving mad. But I'm kinda temperamental to begin with.

I have yet to see what the Alacran, Lupita and Juli story adds to this. They all could just fade away and not take anything away from an already intriguing plot. It drives me beserk watching these punks waltz around shooting and killing people like they are untouchable.

Hmmmm...I wonder, since Leon and Chino are actually both already dead, can Alacran kill them again? And if he does, is it a twofer, or if not, which one is dead then? OK too complicated, nevermind.

Welcome, Benny, watching the show with the Caray gang makes the experience 100 times better.

I finally got to watching and here are some random thoughts I got: I would have preferred for Leonchi to cut more of that beard, a 5 o'clock shadow would have worked better for me ( I don't like beards on guys); but he more than makes up with those baby blues of his.

Lucia did seem to loose a bit of her "lady of the manor" composure when she met Jacobo and the rest of the staff "feels him" too, if I may say so.
The creepy voice belongs to Camilo (or Henry Zakka, the actor who plays him). I can't even begin to name Lady Death... she is so creepy!

Judy, I thought about the cousin, too. And all the poor people who are sure to follow.

One thing I don't remember: is Alacran the band leader, or just a head honcho? For being such a big bad narco, he sure does all of the nasty jobs: killing nobodies, perusing dirty markets... do I remember it right, or he answers to someone else back in the US?

Kirby, I'm thinking that for now the soul is in charge of the body, so Leon is stronger than en Chino and El Chino stronger than Beltran in their respective new bodies. But as time goes by and the two souls get used to their new bodies they could start experiencing some of the memories - first in nightmares, like we've seen, but maybe down the line a little bit more.

I'm not as interested in the whole life after death experience, the paranormal is not my stuff (why am I here, then?). I'm mostly watching for the main cast, seeing Eva twist and turn and seeing Johnny Be Despicable get what's coming at him.
I can't wait for Leonchi to start seeing the truth - he's in for the shock of his life.

LOL, Kirby. Me thinks the over thinking has started already.

I have no idea how Lupita and Juli will add to this. Was El Chino even married to Lupita? The way she talks about him and refers to him, it seems they aren't legally anything. Someone pointed out before that he probably wasn't Juli's father and I'm pretty sure that is correct since they never refer to him as "papa."

Anon 2:44, "So much bs on her humble origins and the working class." My sentiments exactly! ..and I loved seeing Eva having fits over it!

Eva: WOW has she come a long way from Fabiola's mute Sis in Ramoon. I am really enjoying her in this role.

Adrianna, you are correct. A few episodes back, the actual head honcho paid Alac a visit and gave him a watch with some dire warning about recovering that briefcase or some such. And he looked more like a real head honcho, bigger, and more polished and more sinister. IE: not street punkish.

"Hey, what are we naming the death lady?" She already has a name. She is Santa Muerte. Or SM for short, I guess. My cable went on the fritz last night about 20 minutes into the program, so that goodness for this recap. Muchisimas gracias.

Adriana, I had not recognized "The Voice!" Thanks for identifying it.

Kirby, I like Claudia Martin much better in the Eva role, too. Her physical beauty shines here as well as her acting.

Lydia, you're very welcome. I just hate when something goes wrong with the reception. I just want to throw something at the TV, but I know that will just make things worse :-)

SM works for me! Nice and short...we could also use SanMue to give others more of a clue as to who we are talking about.

Thanks RGV! Can't wait to watch this one tonight.

So far I'm thinking Lucia loved Leon like a father figure. Her mother sold her and she had no man to count on. He stepped in and gave her stability and support but too old to have hots for. That's where Johnny steps in. He is like a lot of the men from her past (which usually happens with abuse victims) but wants more than just sex. She has, almost, the perfect guy in the two. Maybe that's where LeoChino comes in, the kindness of Leon and the rough hots of Chino.

Lydia, thanks, I didn't know it was Santa Muerte. So SanMue it is. We don't like names too long as we are frantically typing and watching and trying to not make so many typos it looks like a yet undiscovered language. :-)

Anyone have any theories as to why SanMue chose Leon, El Chino and Beltran to play musical souls/bodies with? El Chino was definitely into the SanMue thing, Beltran was lecturing about the body and soul, but what about Leon? Was it his connection to Camilo who was into reincarnation? There's gotta be some method to this madness...or is it "Because the writer's said so?"

Maybe because when he finally got Lucia's pants off he thought he had died and gone to heaven?
SanMue wanted a reality check for him.

Maybe Santa Muerte wants to see some unfinished business handled before the characters die again. Beltran's transmigration gives him a chance to find healing for his son, both through the bonding going on and getting his hands on the dinero sucio to pay for his bone marrow transplant.

Chino gets a chance to redeem his soul by exposing the crime, both past and projected, of Johnny.

Carvivlie, I think your right....Lucia probably did love Leon like a father figure. And wow, if she does end up with the kindness of Leon and the rough hots of Chino, she's definitely the winner her. She's going to have to do A LOT to redeem herself though, especially when Leonchi finds out that she was in cahoots with JohnyBEvil in bed and in swindling him.

Teehee, Kirby, good guess.

JudyB. you always come up with such good suppositions...makes a lot of sense.

Wow y'all this show is mind boggling.
Musical bodies. I was really surprised
When I read that Lucia was in Cahoots to off her rich hubby. Whose now in The body of a hot hit man. Whose in the body of a college professor? I've been bearly watching this but what I have seen is mind twisting. Leo is in the position to find out alot of stuff about his family and friends, and any one else he never really knew.

Lucia is playin the part of the loving grieving Widow well. I thought she was a good guy but I cant tell with woman.
So that guy that keeps smashing his lips to lucia's was a bidness partner who hated his bidness partner. It'll
Interseting to see how this ends. But
Let's not skip the confusing fun of the body hopping. Or music bodies. Wow
Who came up with this? They got us hooked.
Thanks Ms Chick.
