Amar a Muerte, 11/5/2018, Episode 6: Haunting Memories OR Leonchi Cleans Up Well…RAWWR!
Labels: Muerte
Was Lucia already looking flustered or she's not there, yet?
Gotta appreciate Mexican police, allowing an Interpol suspect to go just because his psychiatrist asks them nicely... and has deep pockets.
I hope I can get back later, after I watch.
Always sad to see the collateral damage in these stories. The man who kindly helped Leonchi escape to Mexico was tortured, and the good cousin who tried to help Lupita and Juli was killed. Alas, again, such things happen in real life. Was horrified by the good little girl scouts and mentor who were killed as they were picking up trash on the highway. All it takes is one young drunken driver.
Thanks so much for launching this RgvChick. It's so much more fun to watch it with the patio rather than all by myself.
Well, off to vote today. Wishing everyone a good Tuesday and if you haven't voted already, please do.
Adriana, the gardener, Frau (security) and Celvina all seemed to sense something about "Jacobo"...as if they knew him. And OMG, when the dog ran to Leonchi, both owner and dog were so happy...one of my fav scenes! It was hard to tell with Lucia, I din;t know if she was just mesmerized by the blue eyes or distracted by how close Jacobo wanted to get to her (he made a couple of attempts to get closer to her, but she looked uncomfortable so he kept his distance), but I think she also sensed something.
I'm already thinking of anvils for Alacran...like being thrown in a pit with huge, deadly scorpions! He and his goons just walk into a place and start shooting it up; how is it that the cops haven't arrested them yet?
I wasn't actually expecting that cop to accept the bribe so quickly! So how did he manage to have released Leonchi so quickly? No one questioned his actions? Oh well, the writers said so, right?
I laugh when Beltino criticizes his new "skinny" body; though it hasn't stopped him at all from using it to have his fun with Alicia. I do, however, really enjoy seeing Beltino with Javi who seems to be reveling his new dad.

Be nice and feed the recappers! Dark chocolate and Doritos are good for me :-)
Thank you so much for your recrap. And double thanks for putting all this together.
Now. How much longer will a Noveau Riche Lucia let JohnywhoIhateimmensly treat her like his most expensive mare in the barn? He made it so clear that the numbnuts reporter was on thin ice for only huuuuggggin her.
What adds fuel to the plot fire is that each transpirited man has memories from both the spirit which has come to dwell in his body as well as a few vestigial memories from his former self, so to speak. Or on second thought, at least LeonChi is for sure having them, as he for sure remembers his house, wife and dog, etc. etc. as well as his new spirit assassinating the judge. I'm not sure, actually, about Beltrino though.
Hey, what are we naming the death lady?
If Johny is so possessive of Lucia; how could he contain himself knowing that she was with Leon...or maybe tha is why he was in such a hurry to get rid of Leon?
How about Deadra for a name for Death lady? And what shall we call that deep voice thatt comes on once in while with notions about death.
see yall on wed. Happy election day!
Oh yes, "see' you Wednesday since the show is being pre-empted tonight.
Thank you for your recap Rgv Chick...Will be tuning in on this forum.
Benny
And for that scary voice it may take a village to name it.
'Voice' is real simple
Doom is alright too.
The Grave
Darkness
Anon: Yep he must be a staple actor with W and Lemon. He was excellent in the first La Piloto. He was despicable in LBYLB too. And it must be hard to find a lot of actors who are eight friggin feet tall. That makes him scary right there.
What I like about this page is that it is a spoiler-free zone; so we only discuss what is aired in a current or past episode. Looking forward to your comments!
Can't wait for when Leon meets Johnny too. He's going to be doubly disappointed when Johnny treats him like dirt for being the chauffeur. Or just plain lower class. Johnny is already letting go of his façade. Is he going to reveal himself to the children soon? Or marry Lucia and let it go from there?
Maybe Johnny did kill Leon too soon out of jealousy. Settling for 25% of the estate doesn't make sense.
When that happens the frustrating thing is he can't just say, "Sorpresa, I'm alive, and I want you out of my house." because legally he actually IS dead. For ME, that would drive me stark raving mad. You know like killing people who did it to me stark raving mad. But I'm kinda temperamental to begin with.
I have yet to see what the Alacran, Lupita and Juli story adds to this. They all could just fade away and not take anything away from an already intriguing plot. It drives me beserk watching these punks waltz around shooting and killing people like they are untouchable.
Hmmmm...I wonder, since Leon and Chino are actually both already dead, can Alacran kill them again? And if he does, is it a twofer, or if not, which one is dead then? OK too complicated, nevermind.
I finally got to watching and here are some random thoughts I got: I would have preferred for Leonchi to cut more of that beard, a 5 o'clock shadow would have worked better for me ( I don't like beards on guys); but he more than makes up with those baby blues of his.
Lucia did seem to loose a bit of her "lady of the manor" composure when she met Jacobo and the rest of the staff "feels him" too, if I may say so.
The creepy voice belongs to Camilo (or Henry Zakka, the actor who plays him). I can't even begin to name Lady Death... she is so creepy!
Judy, I thought about the cousin, too. And all the poor people who are sure to follow.
One thing I don't remember: is Alacran the band leader, or just a head honcho? For being such a big bad narco, he sure does all of the nasty jobs: killing nobodies, perusing dirty markets... do I remember it right, or he answers to someone else back in the US?
Kirby, I'm thinking that for now the soul is in charge of the body, so Leon is stronger than en Chino and El Chino stronger than Beltran in their respective new bodies. But as time goes by and the two souls get used to their new bodies they could start experiencing some of the memories - first in nightmares, like we've seen, but maybe down the line a little bit more.
I'm not as interested in the whole life after death experience, the paranormal is not my stuff (why am I here, then?). I'm mostly watching for the main cast, seeing Eva twist and turn and seeing Johnny Be Despicable get what's coming at him.
I can't wait for Leonchi to start seeing the truth - he's in for the shock of his life.
I have no idea how Lupita and Juli will add to this. Was El Chino even married to Lupita? The way she talks about him and refers to him, it seems they aren't legally anything. Someone pointed out before that he probably wasn't Juli's father and I'm pretty sure that is correct since they never refer to him as "papa."
Anon 2:44, "So much bs on her humble origins and the working class." My sentiments exactly! ..and I loved seeing Eva having fits over it!
Adrianna, you are correct. A few episodes back, the actual head honcho paid Alac a visit and gave him a watch with some dire warning about recovering that briefcase or some such. And he looked more like a real head honcho, bigger, and more polished and more sinister. IE: not street punkish.
"Hey, what are we naming the death lady?" She already has a name. She is Santa Muerte. Or SM for short, I guess. My cable went on the fritz last night about 20 minutes into the program, so that goodness for this recap. Muchisimas gracias.
Kirby, I like Claudia Martin much better in the Eva role, too. Her physical beauty shines here as well as her acting.
Lydia, you're very welcome. I just hate when something goes wrong with the reception. I just want to throw something at the TV, but I know that will just make things worse :-)
SM works for me! Nice and short...we could also use SanMue to give others more of a clue as to who we are talking about.
So far I'm thinking Lucia loved Leon like a father figure. Her mother sold her and she had no man to count on. He stepped in and gave her stability and support but too old to have hots for. That's where Johnny steps in. He is like a lot of the men from her past (which usually happens with abuse victims) but wants more than just sex. She has, almost, the perfect guy in the two. Maybe that's where LeoChino comes in, the kindness of Leon and the rough hots of Chino.
SanMue wanted a reality check for him.
Chino gets a chance to redeem his soul by exposing the crime, both past and projected, of Johnny.
Teehee, Kirby, good guess.
JudyB. you always come up with such good suppositions...makes a lot of sense.
Musical bodies. I was really surprised
When I read that Lucia was in Cahoots to off her rich hubby. Whose now in The body of a hot hit man. Whose in the body of a college professor? I've been bearly watching this but what I have seen is mind twisting. Leo is in the position to find out alot of stuff about his family and friends, and any one else he never really knew.
Lucia is playin the part of the loving grieving Widow well. I thought she was a good guy but I cant tell with woman.
So that guy that keeps smashing his lips to lucia's was a bidness partner who hated his bidness partner. It'll
Interseting to see how this ends. But
Let's not skip the confusing fun of the body hopping. Or music bodies. Wow
Who came up with this? They got us hooked.
Thanks Ms Chick.
