Amar a Muerte, 1/8/2019, Episode 45: United El Chino Saves, Divided (and Clueless) He Remains

Santos and Beltrino arrive at Mexico City. Beltrino stretches after he gets out of the truck after the long ride and having his knees practically in his mouth. Both are glad to be there safe and sound. Beltrino feels like breakfast; so he wakes up Barb who is still in the bed of the truck. When Beltrino congratulates Santos for crossing the border the way he did, Santos tells him that he knows that area better than the gringos and the satellites. Beltrino then bangs on the truck waking up Barb who complains that she was cold throughout the trip since he was so insensitive and threw her in the back of the truck. If there were a way to simply put your mouth back there, you could have ridden up front. Beltrino again mentions going to breakfast, but Santos wants him to pay up first. After Beltrino pays him, he gives Santos a little extra to take him to the other guy…the other transmigrant….Jacobo Reyes. Meanwhile, León/Chino/Jacobo (LCJ) is at Cami’s getting ready to go to work. When he looks at himself in the mirror and sees “León,” he no longer flinches or gets scared; he continues to fix his tie and walks away.

At her apartment, Renata is happy as a lark combing her hair and singing when reality comes knocking; Keila pops in and tries to chide her about giving Guille another chance…with a second kiss; she wants to know if Renata and Guille are novios now! Renata won’t hear it, though and wonders why Keila has sooo many questions; she should just chill. Keila is just trying to warn her and wonders if Renata is ready to be attacked by the press who will point out that she is a mere secretary. Renata questions why Keila wants to ruin her moment; she is SO happy…what will happen will happen; in the meantime, Renata is going to enjoy the best kisses she has ever had in her life (is she really talking about Guille’s kisses???). Keila responds that she shouldn’t be so naïve; kisses can be given to any woman and then Guille could walk away with his official girlfriend as if nothing had happened. Keila then flashes a photo of Guille and Mayela taken right after Guille left her apartment. Renata’s happiness plummets into the world of despair as she looks at the photo. Remember the girl you agreed to assist with her Luuurve Life?

At their home by the poolside, Guille is working out with his punching bag (no, not Mayela…not even her picture) while Vale shows him the photo of him and Mayela. Guille is annoyed; he told them not to be uploading any more photos. Vale teases him and tells him “Well done!” and adds that they look super happy.

At the hospital, Juls is asleep by her mother's bed when Lupita wakes up. Lupita sees her and cries that she thought she would never see her again. When Juls tell her that she’d better not leave her alone again, Lupita blames herself for having put up the flyers of El Chino…that is how they found her. Lupita will no longer search for El Chino; they will never see him again. Just then, Pancho walks in and Lupita sees his beaten face. When she asks what happened; he avoids the question and tells her that he is glad she woke up.

At the Carvajal home, Lucía walks out to a waiting LCJ. When she tells him that if he is going to be looking at her as if he wants to take her to his bed, he could at least respond to her messages, LCJ wonders if she is talking about the message she sent last night. When he adds that he may just be a chauffeur, but still needs his sleep, she questions why he couldn’t respond this morning. LCJ knew he would be seeing her early in the morning so he decided to wait. When he asks how he can be of service, Lucía asks if it was he who sent the photo. As he looks at the photo, he tells her that he doesn’t know what she is talking about…that is not his number. Lucía is not easily fooled, so she asks if he is sure he didn’t send it; she just wants a simple answer. When LCJ denies sending it, Lucía reminds him that he is the only one who knows everything that happened with Johny. LCJ smirks and responds that at least now she is admitting to things. Lucía makes it clear that what happened between her and Johny is her problem, not his. LCJ sarcastically nods and agrees to everything she is saying like a loyal servant. When she asks again if he sent it and suggests that Cami could have given it to him, LCJ chuckles and tells her Cami is too old to be doing such things. He asks to see the photo again and snidely tells her that she looks very good. After LCJ suggests that someone probably is just having some fun with her, Lucía asks him if he is having fun. LCJ responds that there are other ways to have fun with her (as he opens her top coat), but at this moment he is working and he is a responsible servant. When he asks what problem she has with the photo, Lucía remains silent; so LCJ excuses himself and goes inside. Cachingggg....

At Renata’s place, Renata and Keila are coming downstairs to go to work. Keila continues to advise Renata not to be swayed by Guille and that she needs to be prepared for whatever comes. Renata, in frustration, tells Keila to stop annoying her; she has already ruined her morning. As they are about to leave, Renata remembers that her car is in the shop, so they need to take a taxi. Just then, Uber-Guille drives up and tells Renata that he needs to talk to her. Renata brushes him off telling him that she has already made plans to go with Keila to the office, but when Guille says, “pleeease,” Renata agrees, but wants Keila to ride with them. Keila, however, slinks out of it by telling Renata that she has to stop by the pharmacy.

At the company, Johny is questioning the tech guy about the phone used to send the photo to their phones. When the tech guy tells him that the phone used is no longer in service, Johny is aggravated that anyone can go buy a phone, send a disturbing text, and nothing can be done about it. The tech guy suggests that they file a report with the cops, but Johny thinks that would be useless since they have not even resolved León’s case. Once the tech guy leaves, Johny’s secretary announces that Montilla is there to see him. Johny, with his pretentious grin, welcomes Montilla and tells him how glad he is to see him. (Translation from Johnese)  “I was soo hopeoing you were run over by a truck or shot fifty times.”  They continue with the honey-laced niceties until Montilla asks Johny to go ahead and sit down.

At the hospital, Pancho asks Lupita how she is, but she would rather he tell her how he is since he has cuts and bruises on his face. After Juls asks what happened to him, he tells them that it was the guys who kidnapped Lupita; they wanted to know if Lupita was dead or alive. Lupita cries that they want to take vengeance against El Chino since El Chino called them while she was kidnapped. She explains that El Chino and Alacrán were supposed to meet in San Antonio, but El Chino probably got away from them. Lupita continues to cry out that Alacrán is going to find and kill her. Juls assures Lupita that no one will find her there; Pancho tells them that they would have to kill him before he would tell them anything. Just then the nurse comes in and tells Juls and Pancho to leave since Lupita is getting too excited. As they leave, Lupita cries to Juls to take her out of there.   Yeah, maybe push me down the street in a wheelchair with a big red bullseye on me!

Elsewhere in the hospital, Tavo is talking to Alicia who is telling him that she must be going crazy. When she was inside the room with Javier, she was sure someone was there with them, but when she turned around there was no one. Tavo thinks it’s normal since she is exhausted; she needs to rest. Alicia feels all alone in this; so Tavo assures her that she isn’t and asks for Beltran. As she tells him she doesn’t know where he is or what to believe, Beltrino approaches and kisses his beautiful wife. Javier smiles big when he sees his father and asks for his cap. Beltrino shows him the cap and tells him it was worn by a Rangers player of the year. (Yeah, Santos)  Beltrino then takes Alicia out of the room and shows her all the money. Her jaw drops as he tells her that it’s his savings. Alicia finally manages a smile and hugs Beltrino in relief.

In Johny’s office, Montilla tells him that he has been interviewing the employees at the company to find out their perception of their boss. He is very surprised at how much they liked Mr. Carvajal. It’s unbelievable because someone of that stature usually maintains his distance from his subordinates. Johny isn’t surprised since León was not like other bosses; he was the best boss in the world…a boss that was capable of taking his own food to give it to others. He knew the name of every employee and was aware of their circumstances; he was a boss who would be there for his employees when they got sick…until they got well. Montilla still thinks it’s surprising that a man with so much work would take the time to keep up with all his employees. Johny assures Montilla that León would take the time; and Johny would be there at his side helping him in whatever he wanted. Montilla then asks Johny, that aside from working for León, how his relationship was with him. (Violins start playing as…) Johny responds that León was his everything—his friend, his confidante, his guide and his mentor; everything Johny is as a human being and a person, he owes to León who gave him the opportunity to work there…and he will never forget that. Johny then adds that he still hasn’t got accustomed to the idea that León won’t be knocking on his door and telling him one of his jokes so that he could be happy. When Johny feigns being choked up, Montilla apologizes for making him feel bad and suggests that they talk about something else.

In the car driving to work, Guille tries to explain to Renata about the most recent photo, but Renata thinks he shouldn’t need to explain…if Mayela is his girlfriend, then she wishes them much happiness. She just asks that he doesn’t show up at her place at night to provide explanations because it could end up in kisses that could confuse them…and it would look bad on a man who is committed to someone else like he is. When she rambles on that they shouldn’t work together and that she can get to work on her own, Guille slams on the brakes and kisses her (shut up, woman!). He tells her that there is no other woman that interests him except her. When Renata breaks a smile, Guille continues driving as he smiles.

Lucía enters her office. Right afterwards, her secretary enters with a basket of goodies and a message sent by Armenta telling her that too much time has passed and it is time that they meet; she should wait for instructions. Lucía is visibly annoyed and tells her secretary to take the basket home or to take it to the cafeteria; she just doesn’t want it there.

In Johny’s office, Montilla has something else he wants to talk about. He asks what type of relationship Lucía has with Armenta and what Johny’s opinion is of it. Johny responds that Lucía is trying to avoid more bloodshed in the country…something that the authorities haven’t done; he thinks it is a good thing. Montilla agrees that it is a good thing and her intentions are good, but it can be very dangerous.  He then asks Johny if he has ever heard “de buenas intenciones, se hace el camino a los panteones” (good intentions pave the way to the cemeteries). Johny had never heard it, but thinks it sounds pretty good.

At Eva’s home, Mateo is in a good mood and greets Francisca, their housekeeper, with a big smile and dances with her. Eva approaches and asks Francisca for a cup a coffee. Once Francisca is gone, Eva wonders why Mateo is in such a good mood. Mateo teases and tickles her as they sit down. Eva wants to read to the paper to make sure Palomarez is following her instructions, but Mateo continues his playfulness. Eva then asks what he is working on; so Mateo lies and tells her he is investigating a governmental espionage ring; he found out about it from Susana. He tries to tell her more about it, but Eva cuts him off and tells him he can tell her about it later. IE:  I could really give a twit, you insect. Don't bother me.

In SA, Don Terecio wants to know what Alacrán is doing there. When Alacrán replies that El Chino is there in SA and adds that they had a confrontation with him and lost a man, Don T asks why he wasn’t told. Alacrán wanted to surprise him…but Don T is not impressed and chides him for being useless and messing up again. Alacrán replies that not all is bad news. (I got you another tasty Wabbit ?)  They know El Chino is there and they will find him; additionally, the laundering business is going well at the Carvajal Group. When he reports that they are trying to expand the operation and that they will be needing more money, Don T wonders if the woman knows what she is getting into. Alacrán assures him that the woman has been in the business for a long time and likes the benefits. Don T then warns Alacrán that he’d better shape up and find El Chino because if El Chino finds Alacrán first, he will kill him; and if El Chino doesn’t kill him, Don T will kill Alacrán...and the last word is his.

At the Carvajal poolside, Vale is on the phone with Juls and is very happy to hear that Lupita woke up. When Vale asks how Lupita is, Juls shares that her mother is very nervous, especially when she saw how the kidnappers had beat up Pancho when asking about Lupita’s whereabouts...they wanted to know if she was dead or alive. As Juls tells Vale that she is very worried about her mother’s well-being, LCJ is at the bat cave listening in on the conversation. When Juls adds that these people usually finish jobs that are not completed, Vale tells her she will go see her at the hospital, but Juls reminds her about what Montilla had said about the danger in being close to her. Vale, however, doesn’t give a flippin’ hoot.

At the hospital, Pancho is leaving when Carmelo calls “the boss,” Mugres, to tell him that Pancho is leaving the hospital. Mugres smirks as he tells Carmelo that he now has to go in and find out what room Lupita is in...and then he needs to kill her. Mugres also wants a picture of Lupita after she is dead.

At the Carvajal home, LCJ goes toward the car when Fabricio approaches and asks what he is up to. LCJ responds that he is doing his job; and as Fabricio walks away, LCJ tells him to tell his boss, Johny, not to worry about finding things about him because he it may affect his health. Just then, Vale comes out and asks LCJ to take her to the hospital because her friend’s mother woke up.

At the hospital, the doctors are having a hard time calming Lupita down. Juls enters and Lupita pleads with her to get her out of there…they will find her. As Juls tells her that they have assigned a cop to protect her, the doctors try to get Juls not to say anything more since it won’t help her mother. Lupita continues to cry and plead, so the doctor orders a sedative for her. Lupita pleads that they not put her to sleep. Meanwhile outside, Carmelo and his partner prepare to enter and finish the job. LCJ and Vale also have arrived and are inside the hospital. LCJ assures Vale that he can stay and wait for her since Alirio is with Lucía. After Vale tells him the room number, she goes off to see Juls.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Beltrino walks down the hallway to the staircase as he smiles thinking about all that money that will save Javier’s life. Meanwhile, Juls and Vale are walking down a hallway as Juls tells Vale that they had to sedate her mother. Beltrino suddenly sees Juls as he reaches the top of the stairs and quickly steps back. He then listens and follows them as Juls tells Vale that her mother hasn’t had it easy; she was almost killed. As Vale assures Juls that her mother will be fine and Juls hopes so, Beltrino looks on…

Downstairs, Carmelo asks the receptionist for Lupita’s room. He tells the receptionist that he is her brother and just arrived from Chiapas; so the receptionist tells him that Lupita is in intensive care…she even gives him the room number and directions on how to get there! As Carmelo leaves, he puts his gun in his pants; and as he does, LCJ sees him and follows behind. Upstairs, Beltrino is at Lupita’s room and introduces himself as a professor who works with Lupita. After he tells the guard that some of his peers made a collection to help Lupita, the guard quickly stands up, but only asks if Beltrino has a phone charger with him. Beltrino tells him he doesn’t have one, so the guard asks him to stay there while he goes to get his charger from the patrol car. Beltrino walks in and sees Lupita asleep. Meanwhile, Carmelo’s partner is going room-to-room looking for Lupita. In Lupita’s room, Beltrino gets closer to Lupita as she wakes up and looks at him. When he tells her to remain calm and not get scared, she asks him not to kill her; so Beltrino assures her he isn’t going to kill her. He almost tells her he is El Chino, but he stops himself and tells her he is a good friend. In a hallway, Carmelo’s partner has a nurse at gunpoint and forcing her to tell him where Lupita’s room is; once she tells him, he releases her and the nurse runs off down the hallway. Beltrino is getting Lupita’s IV and as he starts to pick her up, the goon comes in weapon drawn and shouts that he has found the one he has to take out…and Beltrino will go with her. Meanwhile, Carmelo is walking down the hall when LCJ catches up to him and grabs him…a fight ensues…

In Lupita’s room, Beltrino asks the goon who sent him. The goon replies that it’s none of his business…what he should be concerned about is that he will soon have a hole in his head. Beltrino gets the goon’s attention when he asks if Mugres, Gancho or Alacrán sent him. When the goon asks how he knows them, Beltrino responds that he worked for them too. The goon denies working for them. After Beltrino asks who sent him if not the Cartel de la Sierra, the goon pushes him to the chair. Beltrino then tells him that Alacrán sent him with another plan; he has already injected Lupita and she is already getting stiff. If the goon wants to follow Mugres’s orders and cause chaos, he can go right ahead, but Mugres will have to answer to Alacrán. The goon doubts that Beltrino knows Alacrán so Beltrino tells him he can show him Don Terecio’s phone number on his phone. As the goon gets Beltrino’s phone, Beltrino attacks him and manages to take the gun from him.

At the bottom of a stairwell in the hospital, Carmelo wakes up to find himself tied to the banister. As he releases himself, LCJ runs down some other stairs, hides the weapon he took from Carmelo and finds a security guard whom he sends to go after Carmelo. Back in Lupita’s room, the guard comes in with his weapon drawn and demands to know what is going on. Beltrino yells at him asking what took him so long. As Beltrino continues to point the gun at the goon, he tells the guard that the weapon he has belongs to the goon…he just took it from him. After he reminds the guard that he is a professor, not a sicario, Lupita watches as Beltrino hands the weapon to the guard. Beltrino continues that he just saved the life of the woman he (the guard) was supposed to be guarding. When he suggests that the guard should take the goon to jail, the guard asks how it was that he was able to overtake the goon if he is only a professor. Beltrino assures him that being a professor doesn’t make him handicapped. The guard is finally convinced; so he calls for back up. The guard then asks Beltrino to stay so he can take the goon away. Once he leaves, Beltrino moves quickly to try to move Lupita to another room. When a nurse comes in and starts questioning what he is doing, Beltrino hisses at her to help him move her to another room because the man who was being taken away tried to kill her…and there is another goon on his way to finish the job. (Beltrino continues to impress). El Chino should not complain about this new package with the long arms.

Down in the cafeteria, Juls is telling Vale everything that happened when Lupita woke up and got scared. Juls is concerned that she and her mother left San Antonio to get away from the goons and they ended up finding them there in Mexico. Juls then tells Vale that what the cop told her about the danger that surrounds her is true. When Juls suggests that they stop seeing each other for a while because she doesn’t want to place her in danger, Vale thinks it’s because of what happened at the pool. Juls denies that is why, but Vale continues that she is confused too; it is normal, but that won’t keep her seeing Juls. Juls doesn’t want to stop seeing her either. Vale then tells Juls that what is happening to her (Vale) had never happened to her before…not with a man, a woman, or anyone else. As Juls tells Vale that this hadn’t happened to her either, shots are fired and everyone panics and runs out. Juls runs outside and as Vale runs after her, LCJ grabs Vale and pulls her back. Meanwhile, Carmelo is walking down a corridor (weaponless) among the nurses.

Upstairs, Beltrino and the nurse push a cart out of the elevator…with Lupita in it and covered with sheets…

Beltrino stops and tells Lupita that she will be safe before they continue on down the hall and go into another room. A few minutes later, Juls comes running to go up the elevator. Just then, Beltrino comes out of the room he left Lupita in and sees Juls. He goes to her and tells her that her mother has been moved to another room. Juls becomes anxious and suspicious; she asks how he knows where her mother is and who he is. Beltrino then grabs her and growls at her to listen to him…she needs to calm down and go see her mother. Beltrino then walks away as Juls stares at him.  Who was that masked man?  Hi Ho Silver, away!

Outside, LCJ is pulling Vale by the arm and telling her they need to leave NOW. Vale wonders what is going on with him; so he sternly tells her to look around as he points to the man that is being taken away by the cops. When Vale tells him that is why she should stay, LCJ remarks that this is not a game. Vale argues and tells him that if he is going to act like everyone else, he can just leave and she will take a taxi. LCJ angrily counters that she needs to respect him because he is…(going to spank her? her dead father?)  he stops himself and tells her that he is older than she is. These people are not going to stop until they see her friend’s mother dead. Vale is not going to let that happen and she won’t leave her friend alone. When she tells him that if he doesn’t have a Plan B, she is taking off, LCJ tells her that he does have a Plan B…that her friend’s mother must appear to be dead.

Inside the hospital, Juls runs into her mother’s room and asks what happened. When Lupita tells her that a man saved her life, Juls asks who the man was, but Lupita doesn’t know who he was…but he was in her room when they tried to kill her. Lupita doesn’t know his name. When she cries that they found her and tried to kill her, Juls tries to calm her down.

At the company, Lucía tells Johny about the gift basket she received that was just as distasteful as Armenta is. Johny thinks she may be on to something; so he is going to ask security to find out if there is a connection between the gifts Armenta sent her and the other packages they received. Lucía, however, doesn’t think the same messenger service would have been used. After Johny insists that it could be Armenta, he suggests that it could be a good idea if Lucía were to see Armenta again. Lucía thinks he must be joking, but Johny isn’t. Lucía doesn’t understand Johny since he had previously insisted that she not meet with Armenta. Johny agrees, but tells Lucía that they should think about it. It would be a good opportunity to know just how much Armenta knows about her…and about them. After she agrees, Lucía wonders aloud what Johny will be doing in the meantime. When Johny replies that he is reviewing some important transactions they have made, Lucía questions him because she is not understanding, Johny explains that they can’t stop…they need to work on making things better. Lucía is still perplexed.

Elsewhere in the company, Cardenas goes for the financial report he asked for. When Machado tells him he is working on it, Cardenas gets huffy and reminds him that he wanted it first thing in the morning. When Machado tells him he’ll have it in a couple of hours, Cardenas tells him that he has exactly 45 minutes…not a second later!

Guille and Renata are in the elevator laughing when the doors open and they bump into Victoria. When Victoria asks if he saw the night edition of her program, Guille admits that he didn’t watch TV. Victoria thinks it was good that he didn’t watch because it wasn’t the best. After Guille questions why she would say that, Renata interjects that last night, Victoria assured the public that his relationship with Mayela was going incredibly well  and that they just wanted to confuse the press in order to protect their privacy. Victoria is glad that at least someone watched her program. Guille points out that that is one of the main reasons he doesn’t watch TV…because of people like her who will say anything just to increase her ratings. After Guille comments on her lack of ethics, he walks away as he takes Renata with him.

Johny is in his office when his secretary tells him that Machado is looking for him. Machado is there to tell him something that he feels Johny should know… (RRRATA!!)

"LCJ responds that there are other ways to have fun with her (as he opens her top coat), but at this moment he is working and he is a responsible servant".

Why she didn't slap him (kick in the groin included)? I would, at least twice.

This is why Beltran is the best character in the show tbh. His scenes with his son are so wholesome and it was pretty funny when that police offficer asked him how he was able to stop the criminal. Btw that police officer is horrible at is job, he probably would’ve gotten pushed out the way anyways considering he was so tiny hehe.

“Tavo” is that a nickname you put for Octavio?

Ugh! Johnny gets on my last nerve with his "Mi Nin~a" and "Mi Nin~o" business, so condescending to both men and women. Plus, he always looks like he needs a shower.

Great title, Rgv Chick and I'm excited to learn a new saying:

“de buenas intenciones, se hace el camino a los panteones”

And loved your description of poor clueless Mateo (who certainly deserves better)and his interaction with Eva:

"I could really give a twit, you insect. Don't bother me."

Trading in a loving, caring (good-looking!) man for a true insect like Alacrán just boggles the mind, frankly. But it sure juices up the plot.

My crush on Beltrán continues. He was willing to pay any amount of money for the cap to bring back to his son. He DID bring back the money for his transplant, reassured his present wife, and saved the life of his previous wife and reassured her daughter.

He has made the greatest 180 degree turn of any of the characters in this story. León is doing a good job of re-connecting with his children, but his efforts are still tainted by his desire for vengeance.

I "get" that you can't FEEL forgiving of the two people who betrayed you, but you can DECIDE to forgive and forgo vengeance. Our feelings come from our primitive lower brain which pretty much says KILL those bastards! but that's why Mother Nature gave us frontal lobes, so we can talk ourselves out of those destructive plans. One of my favorite Chinese sayings, and it certainly fits with this story arc, is:

"He who seeks revenge digs two graves".

That's why I don't see a happy ending for our good-looking lovers, but hey! evidently la Santa Muerte will give them further chances to amend their ways.

Thanks for another great recap and those lovely screencaps Rgv Chick.

Thank you Ms RGV. And thanks Judy for the tidbits of wisdom. 'Two Graves' huh? Getting even is almost narcotic.

I may have figured out why Johny always can not quite stand up straight. Maybe later in the show he will finally stand up normally as he removes his jacket for us to discover ...Dr. Ho's Back Belt.... as he retrieves that little pump from his pocket !
Could anyone understand what Renata was saying as she was a passenger with Uber Guille? Pre-kiss?

Same for Squeaking Loopi. She sounded like a Beagle with a new squeeze toy.

Beltran is the star of the show. He just flat out smarts the goons, and then overpowers them. And he at the very least gets the 'Most Improved' award. He has lately only killed people when necessary, and a few he didn't even harm.

Thank you, Chickie.

Kirby, "Beagle with a squeaky toy"...keep those clever, funny observations coming. I am weary of being knee deep in all the decisions involved with death ....I need a break.

Busy morning, Patio Peeps, but finally made it to the patio. Thank you, JudyB and Kirby. The episode was jammed packed with excitement....and beanie moments; I had to reinforce the chinstrap I had put on my beanie.

Anon, I want to barf every time Johny says "Mi nina(o)" I don't know why but it makes me think of him as a child molester (eewww! even I want to take I shower!). JohnyBeOUCH!= Obnoxious, Unctuous, Condescending, Hateful

JudyB, thank you for always sharing your inspired insight. Your comment on forgiveness and the Chinese saying certainly do fit right in with this TN.

Kirby, "Squeaking Loopi" Yes, thatt is exactly what she sounded like! I feel sorry for her, but she can be quite irritating

If Lucia loves Jacobo, how can she be sleeping with Johnny?
I just hope that soon Lucia will realize Johnny is just using her and tell him "NO!" She must be afraid of him-after all, we know he is capable of murder. If we knew how she became involved with Johnny, maybe we could understand why she is so weak around him. But for heavens sake, Lucia, make up your mind!

Ginger, ITA, although this last time, Lucia did avoid sleeping with Johny, there will come a time when Johny will insist. What will Lucia do then? Cave in to her fears and insecurities and sleep with him? Very likely since LCJ tends to put her off and belittle her...most of the time.

RGV Chick—Glad you recapped this one. I have a hard time understanding Beltran(ino), especially when excited, and boy was he last night. Thank you. Love reading your recaps.

Ginger—We DO know Lucia and Johny’s backstory. She was being pimped out by her own mother when Johny found her. She wanted to get away from the life she had with her mother and Johny was willing to rescue (USE) her. He groomed her to be attractive, dress well, act mannerly and put her in a job at Carvajal, just to attract Leon’s attention—which she did. He constantly reminds her that she owes him and she wonders how long that’s going to be held up to her.
