Amar a Muerte, 02/13/19, Episode 70: Guille's Baby Anvil Lands, Big Ones Jockey for Position

At Barb’s house, Cami is on the phone with Mercedes who tells him, in a panic, about Alacrán and his goons coming in and ransacking the place. Cami tries to calm her down and tells her that the important thing is that nothing happened to her. After he ends the call, Cami turns to LCJ and tells him that it is confirmed…they destroyed everything. After LCJ apologizes, Cami assures him that they are in this together. LCJ is leery about Beltrino and Barb, so he tells Cami that he will leave first and Cami can follow afterwards. Barb is happy that they are leaving so her things won’t get destroyed too, but Beltrino insists that this is the safest place on the planet for LCJ. He tells Barb to let LCJ stay until the Doc can figure out a way to help them so he can get his body back. When Cami comments that he cannot help Beltrino with that, Beltrino suggests that Barb summon Death so she can speak to the Doc.

Cami stresses that he is a scientist and abides by certain rules. Beltrino points out that there are no rules in this area…Cami should have figured that out already. He continues that Cami is the person who is most versed in that room, maybe he can interpret what Death tells Barb…they can ask Death how they can resolve this. Cami questions if he can really talk to Death, so Beltrino clarifies that Barb will be the one to talk to Death. Beltrino sits Barb down and orders her to summon Death…maybe they can ask their questions through her. As Cami starts to insist that he cannot help them, they all feel a presence…and Death Chick looks Cami straight in the eye and doesn’t look happy.

In Lucía’s office, Lucía is torn as she recalls LCJ asking her to marry him ASAP and some of their most tender moments.

At Mr. Castillo’s house, Luisa explains to a cop that the gun she has is legal, it was the one her husband had at the liquor store to defend himself. Meanwhile, the sister-in-law (SIL) gives her statement to another cop, ever since the assault happened, she has reviewed the video several times trying to find some clue…she memorized every scene in the video. She saw the jacket and when she heard the voice, she knew it was Guille. Renata arrives and insists that Guile is innocent…he always helped them with food and the wheelchair. The SIL thinks that he was only doing it out of guilt. The cop stands and asks Guille if he has anything to say to that, but Guille only shakes his head. After they take Guille away, Renata runs to Mr. Castillo and pleads with him to say something, he knows perfectly well the type of person Guille is. She then turns to Luisa and also pleads with her to say something, but the Castillos remain silent.

At Barb’s house, Death Chick continues to stare into Cami’s eyes until she breaks a smile and disappears leaving Cami completely weak as if she had sucked all his strength out. LCJ runs to hold him up. After they sit him down, Barb thinks that he saw Death Chick. After Beltrino smiles with satisfaction that the Doc saw something, Cami tells them it was a woman with a strange look. Barb believes that it was Death Chick.

Johny enters Lucía’s office complaining that what Mateo did was unacceptable, he will have to fire him. (Did the guy you killed have time to leave you in charge?) After Lucía sniffs and wipes away her tears, Johny wonders if she is crying for the chauffeur. Lucía admits that she is…Johny told her to be careful with the chauffeur and he was right, he is always right. Johny reminds her that what he always does is look after her and make sure that no one (except him) takes advantage of her. Lucía responds that he shouldn’t worry about her anymore, from today forward, she is not going to be the stupid one whom Jacobo betrayed…and Johny too…both of them ended up being frauds. Johny is taken aback that Lucía included him, so Lucía ruefully reminds him of what he promised her, years before, a wonderful life…that they would always be together and be accomplices. All he did was make her his accomplice in murder and now she is surrounded by a murderer, drug traffickers and cops. Johny laughs nervously, he can’t believe she is blaming him for everything. Since the first moment, all he has done is give her his life and be there for her always…and always telling her the truth unlike the chauffeur she is crying for. Johny thinks that it is a difficult time and they are both very sensitive. He goes to kneel in front of her and tells her that he loves her and that all he has done is to try to give her the life she deserves…the life that she wanted. Lucía admits that he is right, they are living the life they always dreamed of, but now she is not sure that that is what she wants in her life. Johny is stunned and speechless as Lucía tells him she wants to be alone, turns away from him and hopeoes that he had nothing to do with Susana’s death. When Johny denies having anything to do with Susana’s death, Lucía reminds him that she knows his methods very well…she truly hopes she is wrong. Johny smirks as he responds that he is not worried…because time will prove him right.

Mateo walks into the editing area as Palomarez tells the others that they can take the afternoon off. Palomarez then walks over to Mateo and gives his condolences. Annoyed, Mateo pushes off Palomares’s arm as he asks if Palomarez is also going to say that it was an accident. As they talk, a technician comes to return the hard drive to Susana’s desk. Palomares tells the tech to go ahead and take it back, but Mateo insists that it be left there. Mateo then turns to Palomares and tells him that he knows who is responsible for this, and if the cops don’t do anything about it, he will.

At Barb’s house, Cami continues to describe Death Chick, Barb knows it’s Death. LCJ is now convinced that what Barb and Beltrino had told him is true. Cami is still stupefied since his is a scientific background and this is about the supernatural. Beltrino is glad that they are all now on the same wavelength. Cami is overwhelmed…this is the first time that he has experienced life and death. When Beltrino brings up getting his body back, everyone tells him “Enough!” (You should have gotten a spare before Toys 'R Us shut down.) Beltrino gets upset and points out that there is much to fear—fear of not knowing where one is going, fear of thinking that this could be forever, fear of knowing that Death Chick can come any day and look for him, Beltrino needs to know how much time he has left in that body. When Barb tells him to be patient, Beltrino yells, “I don’t have time to wait!” Barb thinks that now that Death has appeared to Cami, she will appear to him again, maybe then he can ask whatever he wants.

Eva walks into Lucía’s office and asks if Lucía already knows that Jacobo is a sicario. Lucía confirms that she knows. Sheezo, everybody knows. Max and Tlacoyo even know. Eva accuses Lucía and Cami, they are both responsible for bringing that murderer to HER house and placing her family in danger. When Lucía retorts that it is her family too, Eva insists that she will never belong to the family. Wait. The Carvajal family or the Alacran family, Evil? Eva knows that Lucía came into the family just for the money, she hopes Lucía has enough money to get out of their lives. Lucía assures her that no, it’s still not enough. Eva reminds her that her father died because of her and her sister was almost killed also because of Lucía. When Eva asks what other problems Lucía wil bring to the family, Lucía remains silent.

At Silvina’s house, Lupita is still arguing that Vale will ruin her daughter’s life, and Pancho is trying to talk some sense into her (brave soul!). Lupita thinks that people who fall in love with those of the same sex are not happy. Pancho argues that he knows gays who live together and are happy. He calls Lupita old-fashioned and, as they argue, Juls walks in and is sorry that Lupita had to find out the way she did. Juls understands that Lupita cannot accpet it, Juls also had a hard time getting used to the idea, but she is not going to set aside her feelings and much less just to please others…so Juls has decided to go off and live on her own.

At the Carvajal home, Vale thinks about her first kiss with Juls when Lucho walks in.

At the police station, Guille is escorted in as he tells the cops that he won’t be saying anything. When the detective tells him that he will have to give a statement, Guille points out that he is an attorney and he knows his rights…he wants to make his phone call. The detective retorts that Guille will make his phone call when he (the detective) finishes what he has to do. As they take Guille away, Renata runs in and asks for Guille. The detective overhears her and explains that Guille has been arrested, and Guille will not be able to talk to anyone for approximately 48 hours…but Guille does have the right to one single phone call and maybe he will call her. Ole Teo sure is looking better. Maybe arrange a get acquainted meeting with TLacoyo. If neither pees on the other, Teo is in.

At the Carvajal house, Vale hopes that Lucho is not there to fight over the same old thing, Lucho thinks she brought it on herself—not the incident with the narcos, but all the rest. When he points out that ever since they broke up, her life has spun out of control, Vale assumes that he has come to tell her that he is her axis and that he keeps her in line. Lucho denies that that is what he meant, but she has to admit that she is easily influenced and that is why Juls got what she wanted. Vale retorts that maybe it is she who got what she wanted.

Montilla is in his office with Fabián as Montilla looks at the article about El Chino’s death sentence for homicide. Fabián doesn’t know how things happened, he never believed the claim about being resuscitated. He thinks that the electric chair had some type of defect and that El Chino never died. After Montilla comments that that is highly unlikely, he asks about Jacobo, so Fabián states that Jacobo has always denied being El Chino…he isn’t sure what to believe. Montilla does know that he does not believe in ghosts and such things. After Fabián comments that he should have killed El Chino from the very start, Montilla warns him not to say that to a cop because it could be used against him. Fabián argues that it would have been best to take that scum out of the streets and, at the same time, done justice for his father’s murder. Montilla reminds him that killing people is not the way to do justice. Fabián agrees and knows that seeking justice only put his family at risk, it could have killed him. Fabián is going to let the law do its own work to seek justice…because he couldn’t. When he tells Montilla that he is going to leave, Montill thinks it’s best.

At Silvina’s house, Juls is packing her things as Lupita pesters her for running off as if someone had done something bad to her when the one who did something wrong was Juls. Juls retorts that she did nothing wrong, she only followed her feelings and she is going to continue doing it whether Lupita likes it or not. Lupita wonders what that girl did to convince her to do such a thing. Juls retorts that no one did anything, things just happened. Lupita won’t let Juls leave, so Juls asks if she is going to accept her as she is. Of course, Lupita will accept her, but she won’t tolerate her doing things that are indecent. Talk out of both sides of that flat face Loopidita. In that case, Juls is adamant that she is leaving and she doesn’t care if she has to sleep in the streets. When Lupita struggles to stop Juls, Pancho intervenes and tells Lupita to calm down and takes her to another room.
At Barb’s house, Cami is comparing Beltrino’s and LCJ’s butterflies, Beltrino’s is a bit smaller. When Beltrino states that that happened recently, Cami asks if it stings, hurts or bleeds. Beltrino confirms that it does after his conscience bothers him, and LCJ comments that his mark does those same things. Beltrino gets impatient with Cami and wonders why it matters if the mark bleeds, stings or hurts. After Cami asks that Beltrino not make light of this, he explains how Maru’s mark disappeared…she is continuing with her new life. Just then, Lucía calls LCJ who insists on answering it.

Lucía is surprised that a fugitive would answer when he is running from the law. When LCJ suggests that he can explain, Lucía cuts him off for trying to lie again since that is all he knows how to do. LCJ tries to tell her that things aren’t always what they seem, but Lucía doubts that this is the case because the evidence does nothing but confirm the vile way he lied. She argues that he gained her trust and made her fall in love with him…she wonders why, was it to destroy her life? Lucía then brings up his family and assumes that he used them to get involved with the Carvajal family. LCJ insists that things are not that way and tells her he loves her, but Lucía tells him to shut up…he doesn’t know what it is to love, but she does because she found it with him just to have him betray her. She continues that she is going to cooperate with the police so that they can catch him and make him pay for everything he did. LCJ gets pissed and asks her if she is really going to involve the police when he knows very well that she and Johny ruined León’s life. After he mocks her for bringing up swindling, Lucía wonders how he can compare infidelity to being a sicario…she is going to do everything possible to have him put in jail so he can rot in there. So you and Johny can still see him every day, Chip?

Keila runs into the police station and meets Renata who tells her that Guille was arrested for being involved in an assault some time back, she doesn’t know what is going to happen. Keila doesn’t think that it is true, but Renata confirms that it is true and the ones who had him arrested have evidence. Meanwhile, Guille makes his one phone call.

Eva and Mateo arrive at the Carvajal house. Mateo has no appetite, he can’t stop thinking about Susana and her family…they need to do something. Just then, Eva’s phone rings. When she answers, Guille tells her he needs her help. Eva tries to tell Guille that they have had a very difficult day, but after Guille tells her he has been arrested for possesion of a firearm and armed robbery, (Where did attempted murder go?) Eva goes to tell Vale who is still with Lucho. Vale insists on going with Eva, but Eva tells her to stay there. Lucho offers to call his father who is an attorney, so Vale agrees.

At the airport, Fabián tells Mejías that he has deposited the money for Mejía’s fees. Mejías is glad that Fabián has given up on the case, Fabián is alive only because of what that man did and that must mean something. When Mejías asks Fabián if he is sure Jacobo Reyes isn’t actullay who he says he is and not El Chino, Fabián doesn’t know anymore…the only thing he wants is to see his family, be close to them, forgive himself and forget all about this case. After they say their good-byes, Fabián heads toward his flight.

At Barb’s house, Beltrino has to go back to his house...the one that is now his house. Cami says he has to leave too, but when LCJ gets up to leave, Beltrino sits him back down and tells him that he needs to stay there. Barb starts to say that she doesn’t want any problems in her house, but after Beltrino hands her a wad of money, he tells her that it’s so she can take care of LCJ...it’ll just be for a few days. He then tells LCJ not to go out to the streets or he’ll be a dead man. LCJ tries to argue, but Beltrino sternly explains that Alacrán has already found El Chino and the bullets will be for LCJ. When Cami assures Barb that he is leaving, Beltrino asks him to be on his toes, Death Chick may appear to him again and, if she does, he should ask her what they are supposed to do. As Beltrino leves, Barb goes after him because she doesn’t think he left her enough money, Once alone with Cami, LCJ complains that this is a disaster. He was having enough trouble living as Jacobo, now he has to live as El Chino and hide like a criminal. He can’t imagine having his children think of him as a criminal. Cami brings up Lucía, so LCJ assures him that she and Johny will pay for what they did. Cami thinks LCJ should put aside his vengeance plan for now and concentrate on keeping himself out of jail. Before Cami leaves, LCJ asks him to wait a few minutes. There is something that is bothering him about what El Chino/Beltrino said. LCJ needs to know where León’s body is. Cami wonders if LCJ is expecting him to go to his children or Lucía to ask for his body. LCJ gets riled up and snaps that El Chino knows where his body is, but what about him…where is his body, he needs to know! Cami tries to explain that transmigrations is very complicated, it’s not just about the changing of souls, but LCJ is adamant that he is going to continue trying to figure it out.

At the police station, Eva talks to the detective and tells him she wants to see Guille. The detective tries to tell her the visitor’s hours, but Eva isn’t interested in excuses…she is telling him to take her to her brother. The detective smiles and apologizes, but he can’t, only the attorney can see Guille right now. Eva then tells the detective to call Montilla so that he can let Guille out because, obviously, this is all a mistake. When the detective suggests that Eva get a good attorney because the case is very complicated, Eva insists that her brother is not a criminal, the detective should call Montilla and she will take care of the rest. Practicing, I see, for when YOU are behind bars witch? If Alacran does not kill you first.

At the Carvajal house, Mateo is at the table looking at the article about Susana and her “Search for the Truth.” Lucía appproaches and tells him how sorry she is for what happened to Susana, she knows they were very good friends. Lucía then warns Mateo that he should be more careful at the company, making an accusation against Johny without evidence is very risky. (Hint, hint, Mat) Mateo looks distraught as he tells Lucía that no one seems to be who they say they are, anyone can be a murderer. Just then, Vale and Lucho come in. After Vale gives Mateo a comforting hug, she asks for Eva, so Mateo tells Vale that Eva is still trying to handle Guille’s problem. When Lucía finds out that Guille was arrested, she takes off to call Barretos since he is the company attorney.

At the police station, Renata comes down the stairs and sees Eva pacing. When Eva sees her, Eva snidely remarks that she now knows who is behind everything, Eva is sure that Guille was arrested because of her. (Yup, she used whiteout rather than retyping the whole page. Jail for Guille Evil.) Renata wonders why people like Eva think that they are never wrong and why they think that everything that happens is someone else’s fault. She then tells Eva that Guille is not a criminal, but he is in deep trouble…and it’s not because of her or some other employee. Renata is just asking that Eva open her eyes to the real world and that they work together to help Guille out of this mess.

At Silvina’s house, Lupita gives Juls her pity-me look and asks her not to leave. Juls should try to understand her. (That IS the problem Flat, she finally does understand you.) They have always gotten along and told each other everything. When Lupita adds that this was like a cold bucket of water thrown at her and asks what she did wrong, Juls responds that what she is feeling has nothing to do with how Lupita raised or taught her, Lupita shouldn’t feel guilty about something that has nothing to do with her (Lupita). Lupita again asks her to stay, if Juls leaves it will only worry her more…and moreso if she goes to live with Vale. Juls responds that that won’t happen, she and Vale are no longer together because of people who judge what they feel…like Lupita. Lupita cries as Juls leaves.

At Beltran’s house, Beltrino trudges in to Alicia’s surprise. Octavio and Cristina are there and are also surprised to see him. Cristina comments that they were worried about him, but Beltrino doesn’t think that they were that worried since they are drinking wine. Beltrino wonders what they are celebrating, so Alicia replies that they are celebrating Javier’s success with his chemotherapy. Beltrion insists that it doesn’t seem that they are very worried, so Octavio explains that they saw how worried Alicia was and they brought over some wine to try to help her calm down. Beltrino takes offense and tells Octavio that he doesn’t need him coming over to try to calm his woman down. Alicia interrupts and tells Beltrino not to talk to their friends so rudely, so Beltrino leaves to go see Javier. Once gone, Alicia comments that Beltrino is acting very strange, she doesn’t know what he is into. When she asks Octavio to talk to Beltrino, Octavio quickly shies away since Beltrino is not the friend he used to be, he doesn’t go looking for him or answer his calls. Octavio thinks Alicia should handle this herself. Alicia is afraid she will be left alone to care for Javier, especially during this time.

Cami returns to his house and talks to Mercedes. When she tells him how they came in like hoodlums, Cami tells her not to worry since the police are already aware of the incident. Mercedes wonders if Jacobo is involved in something illegal, but Cami assures her that it was just a mix-up. After Cami tells Mercedes to go home and rest, he looks at his place that is in shambles.

At Alacrán’s nest, Alacrán curses El Chino and thinks El Chino must have a deal with the devil. After Gancho assures him that he has his best men looking for him, but they haven’t been able to find him, Gancho asks about the woman at the Carvajal Group and whether she is well within the company. Alacrán hisses that no one is to talk about that woman and that Gancho should concentrate on doing what he is told. Gancho leaves after smirking and saying, “Yes, Boss!”

At Barb’s house, Barb throws down a plate of food in front of LCJ. LCJ just looks at it, so Barb asks if he doesn’t like it…she is a witch, not a cook. After LCJ responds that it is very kind of her, Barb gives him a big smile and imagines what his other life was like, he must have been accustomed to eating in expensive and elegant places…but here, he’s up a creek, she, at least, is allowing him to stay in her house. When LCJ thanks her and tells her he appreciates it, Barb is elated that someone finally appreciates her. LCJ then hesitantly asks her for a favor. Barb gets another big smile, moves in closer and tells LCJ. “Whatever you want!” LCJ needs to resolve something…he needs to dig up a grave…his own grave. Awww how Romantic, Barb, right?

Barretos arrives at the police station followed by Lucía and Vale. Eva is glad he is there so that he can help. Guille is charged with assault, but fortunately the man is still alive and that should work in their favor. Barretos needs to talk to Guille first and determine where things are at with the cops, but he is going to ask to see Guille. As they continue to talk, Vale spots Renata and goes to her. When Renata starts to tell Vale what happened, Eva comes and tells her that she shouldn’t be saying anything, whatever she says could be used against Guille. Lucía tries to intervene, but Eva jumps in her face for bringing Vale. Vale speaks up and reminds Eva that she is present, Vale also wants to know what is going on with Guille. After Eva walks off, Renata cries that she is afraid, so Vale and Lucía assure her that all will be well. Oh? How did you come up with that analysis girls?

At the cemetary, Barb is paying off the groundskeeper and telling him that if he hears anything to let them know. After Barb returns to the taxi where LCJ is waiting, LCJ pays off the taxi drier and gives him extra to wait for them. LCJ then gets his bag from the trunk and as he and Barb walk to the grave, Barb nags that she won’t do it, but she keeps walking with LCJ as he “ups the ante.”

At Johny’s place, (no)S-Bueno’s assistant tells him that that is no way to resolve problems. Johny wonders if he is trying to perform a triple jump, but the assistant claims that no one has ever proven anything against him so, as far as anyone is concerned, he is innocent. Johny assures him that he (Johny) is then also innocent. The assistant points out that poisoning his own employee is truculent and that is in bad taste. Johny thinks that the word poisoning is too harsh, all he did was to add that substance which Susana was allergic to…the substance did the rest. After Johny tells the assistant to calm down, he gives the assistant the USB with the information he was looking for. As Johny goes to get some whiskey, Mateo bangs on the door. The assisant wonders if Johny’s employees usually show up at that hour and bang on his door.

Thanks for super-fast recape.

Love + hate + revenge + lust + passion + death + lies + tequila = Lucobo

Kirby,

Such a great recap for a worthy episode. Things are really picking up now. Let's hope the writers don't require us to time travel with our beanies on!

Beltran has been so outstanding in his role. He and Barb are made for each other.

Death chick visiting Camillo and smiling! I didn't think she knew how to smile.

I detested Lupita (Mónica) in LQLVMR and she is even more deplorable here. With her facial features, she looks more like the skeleton lady in the credits.

I can't remember a novela villain being as obnoxious, disgusting, offensive (body language), nauseating, etc. or repulsive as Johny. He needs to be knocked off NOW. Steve get your pencil sharpened and add his name to the top of your list!!!

Oh, Johny's death needs to be something unique to his character.

I can't even imagine Lucia kissing him!!

Are we now sure that Lucía was part of the plan to kill León??? The Spanish surrounding this question is somewhat ambiguous to me.

Lucia wasn't part of the plan to kill Leon. Johnny told her after, and she was shocked. But, she continued relationship with Johnny.

Johny the Devil himself runs a pretty tight ship, as we have seen, not hesitating to kill anyone who might be in the way, as Susana found out. Now that Lucia is distancing herself from him and his murderous self serving ways, is she in danger from JohnyEvil now also?

His feigned heartbreak at Lucia's harsh comments do not fool me for a millisecond, nor do his ongoing sloppy proclamations of love and adoration for Lucia. Son of a beech even lies when he talks to himself.

I suspect Mateo is in his crosshairs now, as he seems determined to just go along killing anyone who is in his way. Of course, that only works for a while, and as Guille found out, WILL eventually catch up with you.

E v e r y o n e seems to simply allow Johny to singlehandedly run Carvajal and the Carvajal family with no interference from the other key employees or family members.

Now that Lucia's eyes are beginning to open to the pure evil which Johny is, she could easily pull rank on him, or better yet, outright fire him, but of course she will not. People seem to never understand that one bad apple thing until the whole basket starts oozing stinky.

Eva needs electro shock therapy. Something slower, but similar to the scene we see over and over with El Chino. Contemptible little hag marches in and as soon as sweet little Renata shows up, Evil launches into some class warfare tirade, having Guille's problems be Renata's fault. I wanted her to claw her eyes out of their sockets.

Anon, Lucia was not part of the plan to kill Leon THEN at that time. We saw her shock when Johny did it, (ahead of schedule) but there was no way they would have had it all like their plan they have talked about since day one, if they didn't eventually kill Leon. Johny is far more guilty than her, but we have been kept in the dark about just how much she knew, for the hundredth time.

Victoria: Death Chick is freaking me out & she always smiles a lot.

I'm dreading what Johnny has planned for Matteo....

Kirby: I've lost track of the Body Count, so how many people in the list ?

It was clear in episodes 2 and 7, that Lucia wasn't part of the plan to kill Leon. She said loud and clear that killing Leon wasn't "objecto"

Steve, I just write this stuff, but I can't count.

So there you go Victoria, there is your answer.

Good Morning, Patio! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Kirby, you knocked it out of the park with this one and the screen shots were perfect. Thank you!!

Steve, Death Chick does smile often, and when she does, she usually does it whenever she shocks someone with her presence or when she thinks she's getting her way...so it's really more of a smirk, IMO.

Victoria, I knew for sure that Lucia was not aware that Leon would be killed at their wedding. but I've always thought that she knew Johny would eventually kill him...now I'm not so sure. She seems to detest Johny for killing Leon and making her part of it, but I still wonder how the heck she thought Johny was going to take over the Carvajal millions without whacking Leon; surely she couldn't have been that naive.

Beltrino was outstanding last night...not far from what he normally has been giving us throughout the show. His obsession with gettting his body back exasperated everyone...I laughed when they all jumped on him about it. And Barb was, again, hilarious with her instant crush on LCJ, but c'mon, did she really expect LCJ to jump on her bones...get real, girl! Oh, and then she goes with him to dig up the grave...what a wonderful first date! (rolling eyes)

Eva was being a real (B)itch with Renata, but Renata stood firm and put her in her place...enjoyed that too.

I think Lucho and Lupita need to get together and drink a couple of shots of rat poison. DO they really think that they can "save" Vale and Juls? Morons on steriods!

#hatejohny

Just a HEADS UP-- On Thursday, Feb. 21st, Univision will be airing "Premio lo Nuestro" from 8-11pm (E); so no TNS for that night.

"DO they really think that they can "save" Vale and Juls?"
Hmmmm... it seems that after a few doses of Lucho's bedside remedy Vale's 'condition' really manifested itself anyway, so his help is not needed.

And Lupita, running from Narcos, living with a hired killer who insisted his child was not even his, while living in a camping trailer....Juls, don't you want the good life too?

Aren't these two Einsteins allergic to SOMETHING also?

👍

Excellent work,Kirby.

Who the hell let Lucho into the house?

Pancho is becoming my favorite man in this story. Not sure if Lupita deserves him.

Something tells me that Johny is trying to frame the politician for the murder of Susanna.

The writers are screwing up again. How can LCJ not know where his body is when he has previously been lying on top of the grave in several past episodes?

Does Renata know all the details about Guille's horrible mistake?

UA, "How can LCJ not know where his body is when he has previously been lying on top of the grave in several past episodes?" Good Question! Does LCJ want to go dig out his body so his soul can go back into it? I don't get his reasoning for wanting to go see his dead body. From what I have seen, some of the people who were selected to be transmigrants were "dead" to their families (e.g., Hector and Karla). Yet other's souls have inhabited someone else's body and are thus still living with their host body's families. And we still have Beltran, whose soul is out somewhere floating around...looking for a body??

So many questions still unanswered and so very little time to get answers. After this episode, we only have 17 episodes more! Ay, Caray!! And no one has a clue about Eva's dealings with the scorpion devil!

BTW, PASL2 is set to start on March 12th. That means that they have the necessary 17 slots for the remainder of the 17 episodes for AAM...which indicates that there were no major slicings for AAM and definitely no combining of episodes into a 1-hour time slot (still knocking wood). How long has it been since we've seen a TN without the major slicing and dicing?? THAT, my patio peeps, just goes to show how GOOD this show is!!

And, yes, Guille told Renata every detail of his horrible mistake.

I thought about LCJ lying on the grave, briefly, and thought, Wait? What? but immediately got sidetracked by the next scene and forgot / chalked it up to having drank too much in my younger days and ignored it.

Yessir, Reni knows alllll the sorid details and still maintains to anyone who will listen that her Guille is innocent. Not only is love blind, it's cousin, 'In Heat' is stupid.

O/T
It's so sad to see only two current Televisa telenovelas on the side bar, plus the generous offerings of the Telemundo recappers.

With only Amar Sin Ley on the horizon, what will happen to us Caraymate addicts???

I remember better telenovela days when there were several novelas airing each evening.

Kirby--I'm tired of saying Wowee, Wow, Superb, Fantastic, Terrific for every recap you write, but I gotta do it again (I just won't repeat it). Thank you for the pleasure of reading this "Just the facts, ma'am" recap with numerous asides and plenty of speculation (as in your comments, as well.)

Doesn't LCJ remember that he also saw Ms. Death Chick? Twice? Once in the cemetery when they were attending Karla's burial--and Cami didn't see her? That led him to recall the time as Leon, he saw her down in the garden, but didn't know who it could be.

Tlacoyo likes Teo's cooking better than Guille's, so I think the rapport is already there. I feel sorry for Teo, because I don't think he's the end game for Renata. She's too far gone on Guille.

UA--I thought also, all along, that there was no way for Leon to recover his body because his was 6-feet under (while at the same time Beltran's soul is a-wandering). Think about it for a minute, though. LCJ was lying on top of his grave, but, like Grant, was he buried in Grant's tomb? If it's not a writers' screw up, then we are in for a surprise.

These last two episodes are bringing it all together. The only outliers, for me anyway, are the Pancho, Lupita, Juls story. Is it really important to the revelations of evildoing for Juls and Vale to find happiness in a little cuartucho and for Loopy to accept their relationship and find happiness with Pancho? (I say poor Pancho--saddled with Loopy I, his soon to be ex-wife, and Loopy II, his high school girlfriend and having child support for the next 10 years or so.)

Kirby--"Lupita, running from Narcos, living with a hired killer who insisted his child was not even his, while living in a camping trailer...." You nailed it. How was this a role model for Juls? She grew herself up and internalized her own set of values, to become a genuinely nice person, worthy of loving and being loved--something Lupita hasn't actually managed to do successfully.

El Chino was a "bad guy" when he died after his warp-speed trial, sentencing and execution. Leon was a "bad" (absent) father when HE died. So Death Chick brought them back to rectify the error of their ways. Beltran had a sick child, but he was a good guy with physical ailments (asthma, weak body), so she's letting HIS soul rest in peace. Too bad for Leon that she went alll the way to Texas for a body for him when Beltran's was close at hand. And too bad a Dallas cheerleader's body wasn't available for El Chino. Oh, that's right, he was in San Antonio. Oops, my bad. Never mind.

Great recap Kirby. Love your writing style and especially liked the title this time. Really perfect.

I thought the encounter scene with Death was superbly acted. I really believed for a moment that Camillo was going to die on the spot. The actor did a great job of portraying a mere human suddenly face to face with the Supernatural. That would scare the bejesus and take the starch out of anybody.

While it's nice for Pancho to be the voice of reason and tolerance, most parents fear for their gay children who are "out" and in a relationship. There are lots of Neanderthals who are ready to do bodily harm to those folks. And only a few years ago, a long-time beloved teacher (a woman) at a Catholic high school was fired after a parent saw in an obituary for her father that her partner was another woman. And Columbus is considered an "enlightened" town for gays.

Now there's a mystery going on for me, but it's about words, not plot. The politician's slick henchman used the word "tuculente" (sub-titles) which I don't know and neither does my Oxford Spanish-English dictionary.

Ah,just double-checked my big ol' Larousse and it DOES have "tRuculente" and the meaning given is "very cruel, painful". Now the man's declaration makes sense. Anyway the closed caption person was clearly flummoxed by it and so was I. It is definitely the first time I have heard it used in a telenovela.

Always amused by Belchino's macho "leave my mujer alone, I'll comfort her!" stance. He's holding to character in many ways, while developing compassion and understanding in others. I think he's way ahead of LCJ in evolution (well, hmmm, except for that little Rosita incident. But Lordy, I imagine she'd be hard to resist.)

And thanks to whoever provided a picture of the money plant yesterday. Just lovely. Always cheered by the way people contribute on this blog. Yes, Victoria, our numbers have diminished considerably, both in telenovelas covered and the size of the patio, but it's still a lively place. Like no other.

Thanks again Kirby. Always a pleasure. I imagine you could give Teo a run for his money when it comes to Renata. Do you cook as well as you write?

Victoria UniMas. Right now there are three Kick---Assss shows on UniMas at 8, 9, and 10 Eastern time: Tres Milagros, Atrapada and Rosario Tijeras Dos.

No(S)Bueno's sidekick who visits his apprentice Johny Evil is just a cleaned up Gancho isn't he?

Anita, thanks, and yes Leon, long before his murder, saw Death Chick outside, and was alerted because Max was raising hell about her. And even after she turned on her cloaking function, Max was still carrying on about some intruder. So she already had plans for Leon then, it appears.

Kirby
Many thanks for the heads-up re the 3 good novelas to watch via UniMas.
Believe me when I say I need to see a therapist about this novela addiction!!
