Amar a Muerte, 2/12/2019, Episode 69: Body and Soul Reunion

At Barb’s house, LCJ (León/Chino/Jacobo) and Beltrino sit down for a chat as they stare at each other. LCJ assimilates the idea that he is looking at the actual El Chino Valdez. Beltrino declares that that is his face and body; he’s been looking for him for quite some time. Since Beltrino saw him briefly at the hospital; he has not been able to sleep peacefully. LCJ realizes that is why Beltrino saved him from the narcos. Beltrino agrees; he wouldn’t want his body to leave filled with bullets. When LCJ scoffs that Beltrino is the real one they should be looking for, Beltrino tells him not to believe everything they say about him. LCJ chides Beltrino; he has no idea of the problems he has had because of him. Beltrino retorts that that was not his intention. LCJ then asks about the body that El Chino is occupying; so Beltrino tells him about being a university professor who has a family, even a dog…but a boring life; the professor died in an accident. Beltrino can’t get accustomed to talking to his body, his face that he grew up looking at every day; he grabs LCJ’s arm and demands that he give him his body! (Oh, sure, here ya go, but only if I can have my body back too!) After LCJ pulls his arm away, they both sit back to relax…NOT! Just then, Death Chick makes a bell ring (Round 1?), but as Beltrino looks, he sees no one. As they both sit up to take a good look, a black butterfly flies away…and Death Chick smiles. (There's a girl like Death Chick in every class. What she doesn't have in looks she makes up for in 'Fun Factor'.)

At the company, Johny is on the phone with Palomarez pretending to look for Susana and worrying about her. After he ends the call, he goes to see Lucía in her office. When he sees her with a drink and her feet up, Johny asks if she is celebrating; she replies that there is no celebration there. When he asks what happened, Lucía responds that something very serious happened…it’s about Jacobo.; aside from having a wife and daughter, before he worked as a chauffeur, he was a sicario.  Like : “You have company, Johny.”

At Cami’s house, Cami tries to conivince Vale and Juls not to go to the police and turn in a man who is truly innocent… Jacobo Reyes is innocent. When Juls asks where El Chino’s soul is, Cami can’t answer that just yet because he doesn’t know. Juls wants to go back to the hospital to talk to Jacobo since he is the closest thing she has to her father; and he can explain how everything happened. Cami doesn’t think it’s a good idea; it could be dangerous since the man just killed a big-time narco. After Vale agrees, Cami points out that LCJ wil be released soon and return to his house; they can talk to him there. After the girls agree, Cami emphasizes that LCJ is not just a good friend of his, he is a good person and a great human being. Vale then asks if Jacobo knew her father.

At Barb’s place, Beltrino tends to LCJ’s wounds. Barb can’t believe that that is Beltrino’s body; she would have re-e-e-eally liked him since they first met…he was so much more handsome before. Beltrino wants to know how many women LCJ has taken to bed with his body. (Shut up, we are still counting Belt.) LCJ looks at them in disbelief and reminds them that there are people looking for him…narcos! Beltrino thinks that the good thing about all of this is that if they shoot someone, it’ll be LCJ. LCJ sarcastically thanks him for making him feel so good. When Beltrino tells him to calm down since no one will find him there, Barb panics and refuses to let anyone stay there. Seeing that LCJ gets upset, both Barb and Beltrino try to calm him down.  Don't scrimp on the bullet proof vest fellows.

At Lucía’s office, Lucía tells Johny how she found out about LCJ. Just then, Montilla walks in unannounced and tells them that he found out some very sensitive information on Jacobo. When Montilla tells them that the chauffeur turned out to be a very dangerous criminal, Lucía takes another swig of tequila. Montilla sees that they are not surprised and surmises that they already knew. Johny hopes that Montilla already has LCJ since he is there at the office and not out looking for LCJ. Afte Montilla tells them that his men are working on it, he asks Lucía if LCJ has tried to contact her, but Johny butts in and tells him that LCJ has not made contact…and Montilla shouldn’t worry about them since they are going to double their security. Johny wonders about the list of suspects of León’s murder…and where Jacobo is on that list. As Lucía gives Johny a bewildered look, Montilla responds that he will be the one to be drawing conclusions. Montilla then turns to Lucía and tells her that he needs to interrogate her….and he will need to interrogate Johny too, so he need not leave.

At Renata’s place, Guille drags in and Renata is glad he arrrived so she can tell him how well her interviews went. Guille doesn’t sound enthused, so she asks about Vale. Guille replies that Vale is fine, but there is something he found out that threw him for a loop…the chauffeur is a sicario, but he still can’t believe it; he considered LCJ a friend. Renata recalls Guille talking abot LCJ and is sorry Guille is so disappointed and shocked. She then tries to cheer him up by showing him a puzzle she bought when she thought of him and Mr. Castillo. Renata even called Luisa (Castillo’s wife) who would be very happy to see them.  Guille is not up to going, but Renata convinces him..it would be a distraction for him.  The cat wants to go too.?

At the scorpion’s nest, Alacran has his pinchers up and flailing anxious for that sting he hasn’t been able make. He orders his men to find out where El Chino has been staying while pretending to be Jacobo Reyes. He wants to find everyone who had anything to do with him.

Gancho stops him and suggests that Alacrán himself could get that information from his contact at the Carvajal group. Alacrán hisses that only he will handle the Carvajal woman, and no else should mess with her.

At Barb’s house, LCJ calls Cami who has been worried sick about him. LCJ explains that things got worse and now this is a tremendous disaster; he had to run and they almost killed him. When he tells Cami that the real El Chino hepled him, Cami wants LCJ to bring El Chino to his house immediately, but LCJ doesn’t want to put Cami in danger. LCJ reminds him that he is a fugitive; he can’t go to his home or work or anywhere where someone will recognize him. Cami wonders how he can help, so LCJ agrees to give him an address so Cami can bring him some clothes and other things he needs. LCJ warns him to make sure no one sees or follows him.

Alacrán calls Eva and angrily tells her that the man he has been looking for ended up working at her house. Eva isn’t understanding, but Alacrán has no time to be explaining to her and demands to know where the chauffeur lives. Eva hesitates and asks what he is going to do to him. When Alacrán gets pissed and curses, Eva tells him not to talk to her that way; so Alacrán tries his best (but not so well) to calmly tell her that she shouldn’t ask questions; this is important and he wants to know where the chauffeur lives. Eva concedes and responds that she thinks he lives with Dr. Camilo Guerra. Alacrán then asks where the doctor lives.  Oh swell you little beach.  What else can you do wrong?

In Lucía’s office, Montilla asks if Lucía knew Jacobo prior to his working for them as a chauffeur. After Lucía denies knowing him, Johny butts in once more and tells Montilla that Camilo recommended Jacobo for the job; he suggests that Montilla go interrogate Cami. After Montilla thanks him, Johny scoffs that Montilla always falls short in getting correct information…they always have to give it to him. Montilla then asks Lucía if she knew that Jacobo Reyes is not the chauffeur’s real name…Jacobo Reyes doesn’t exist and his real name is Macario Valdez. Lucía sits shaking her head in disbelief. While Montlla walks away to answer his phone, Johny asks Lucía is she knew anything about this. Lucía denies knowing anything and comments that this is like a never-ending nightmare. Montilla returns and announces that they just found the body of a Carvajal reporter. Lucía is shocked and Johny feigns shock when Montilla tells them it was Susana.  Meanwhile, Eva is on the phone talking to Mateo who is telling her about Susana; they are still conducting the forensics exam and know nothing yet about how she died. Eva wonders if this has anything to do with what he told her; Mateo can’t think of any other explanantion other than Johny having her killed.   Ding ding ding ding.  There is a flicker between those ears Mat.

Out in the boonies, a patrol car suddenly stops and Mejías jumps out to go untie Fabián who is hurt, but it’s nothing serious. After Fabián recounts what happened, Mejías is surprised that El Chino didn’t kill him; Fabián is also surprised and feels that El Chino was acting strange…just like when they were at the morgue in Texas and El Chino woke up saying that he wasn’t El Chino. Fabián doesn’t understand because while they were there (presently), El Chino kept repeating that he didn’t kill his father. Fabián then talks about El Chino’s accomplice who was also acting strange and saying that he (accomplice) didn’t know El Chino, but would talk about El Chino as if he knew him well…even talking about his childhood…and twin souls. When Mejías asks what Fabián plans to do, Fabián remains quiet and shakes his head.

Eva arrives at Susana’s house as the paramedics are wheeling out the body. After she gives her condolences to the family, Eva goes in to see Mateo who is sitting at the table looking devastated. He tells her that they still know nothing about how Susana died; an autopsy will be performed, but everything seems to indicate that it was an overdose. Eva wants to believe that this was an accident, but Mateo looks quite dubious.

At Lucía’s office, Johny is playing stupid and questioning if people can die from intoxication due to an allergic reaction. Montilla explains that it depends on the circumstances and adds that forensics is conducting an exam. Both Johny and Lucía think that this is just too much. Johny mentions that first it was Jacobo and now it’s  Susana who was one of the top reporters at the Carvajal group. When Johny suggests that Montilla’s priority should be to find Jacobo, Montilla tells him not to worry, they are covering all exits to make sure Jacobo doesn’t leave the country…they are going to trap that man!

Juls and Vale arrive at Silvina’s house. Juls feels bad about taking Vale from her house when she is still not feeling well. Vale feels better being out of the house. When Vale asks Juls how she feels since she was somewhat perturbed by their conversation with Cami, Juls admits that it is diffcult to believe these types of things. Vale suggests that Juls read Cami’s book which is quite magical; it changed her life. Vale reads a specific sentence from the book, “In different spiritual disciplines, it is affirmed that souls reincarnate within the same family whether it be through blood or friendship.” After Juls agrees that it makes sense, Vale smiles and adds that if it were true, she could reconnect with her family… who knows, maybe Juls might have been her Charming Prince in another life; it would make a lot of sense and explain many things. Juls again agrees and thinks that, with that argument, she could start believing.

At Cami’s house, Cami tells Mercedes, his housekeeper, that he will be out for a conference the whole day and instructs her that if anyone asks for Jacobo, she is to say that she has never heard of him and he doesn’t live there. As Cami leaves, he catches sight of Alacrán, Gancho and goons arriving so he immediatley goes back inside the house and goes out the back way (leaving Mercedes there to fend for herself??). Immediately afterwards, Alacrán bangs on the door; so Mercedes opens the door. Alacrán forces his way in and demands to know where the doctor is. Mercedes tells them he isn’t there and asks them to leave (like telling a fly to go away). Alacrán curses the people who know nothing and can’t help him. When Alacrán asks for Jacobo, Mercedes fearfully shakes her head as if she has never heard the name.

At Barb’s house, LCJ explains that Cami is a doctor and his friend from his previous life and that Cami is doing research on transmigration. Beltrino argues that doctors don’t understand those things; he has been to neurologists, psychologists, shamans and witches…and none have been able to understand. When Barb reminds  Beltrino about the ritual that the shaman performed and chides him for only remembering whatever is convenient to him, Beltrino retorts that he doesn’t want to remember those things, but tells LCJ how the shaman gave him some strange herbs which made him see people he had killed…though no one has given him any real answers. Beltrino then mentions that Barb is now talking to Death Chick; LCJ is intrigued as Barb gives him a big smile and flutters her eyelids at him. Oh flubber, get in line, spooky.

At Renata’s apartment, Renata and Guille are getting ready to go to Mr. Castillo’s house when Guille notices that Tlacoyo did his business on his jacket again; so Guille goes to grab another jacket which has a logo on it. Renata apologizes and doesn’t understand why Tlacoyo is having problems; she’s considering taking him to a trainer or an animal psychologist…maybe Tlacoyo is a little off his rocker. They both laugh and leave.

At Cami’s house, Mercedes sits on the couch as the goons ransack the place for anything that might lead them to El Chino; and Alacrán has gotten himself some snacks. After Mercedes pleads that they not destroy the house, Gancho comes in and tells Alacrán that they found men’s clothing in two different rooms and of different sizes. Alacrán grabs Mercedes and threatens her with a fork. He wonders if Mercedes has any idea what happens to people who lie to him. Gancho stops Alacrán and reminds him that Alacrán likes to give orders and he (Gancho) likes to kill; so this one is his. Alacrán agrees, but emphasizes that it is he who give the orders. Gancho is not to touch Mercedes; Alacrán will let her live so she can deliver his message. After Alacrán walks out, Gancho gets in Mercedes’s face and curses her luck.

At Beltrino’s house, Javier is home and in bed. After Amparo and Alicia discuss what Javier will have for lunch, Amparo asks if Beltrino will be home for lunch; Alicia thinks that is a good question.'

At Barb’s house, LCJ questions Barb’s ability to talk to Death. After Barb explains that Death communicates with her in different ways, LCJ mockingly wonders if Barb texts Death to get her to appear. Barb responds that Death comes when Death wants to. LCJ teasingly asks what Death tell her; so Barb admits that Death tells her strange things that she doesn’t completely understand. Beltrino interjects that Death clearly said that she would be coming for him (Beltrino) very soon. Barb thinks that Death has something to do with them and the butterflies on their necks. Beltrino fears that Death is behind everything that is happeing to them. LCJ is dubious; he thinks that this is like a horror movie. LCJ questions why Death would would go look for them just to revive them…it is illogical. Just then, LCJ cringes in pain. Beltrino looks at LCJ’s butterfly and tells him it’s not bleeding. LCJ wonders if Beltrino is worried about LCJ or his body. After Beltrino replies that he worries about his body, he asks LCJ if he is enjoying his body. LCJ sarcastically responds that he is having a great time, especially since all he has done is find out that those who theoretically love him have made a fool of him. When he adds that he is going to make them pay, Beltrino advises LCJ not to do it; it will only cause him more problems…he knows because everytime he has tried to do something, horrible things happen to him. Barb then changes the subject and comments on LCJ’s temptation eyes, but the doorbell rings so she goes to answer. Cami comes in and LCJ is very relieved to see him. After LCJ introduces the real El Chino Valdez, Cami is intrigued.

At Silvina’s house, Juls makes toast for Vale. Vale asks is Juls will believe in Cami’s ideas; so Juls reiterates that if Vale continues with her compelling arguments, she will believe, but it’s too much information…though she won’t discard the idea of reincarnation. As Vale goes to Juls and strokes her hair, Vale insists that Juls can’t leave her alone in this absurd idea. They hold and touch each other as they laugh about the idea. When Vale gets serious and thinks about how hard everything has been for her, Juls assures her that she hasn’t stopped having feelings for her, but with everything that is going on, it doesn’t seem to be the right time to be together. Juls even thinks that they may be together again in another life. As they get close and kiss, Lupita walks in, sees them and yells out to Juls. Juls and Vale quickly turn and face Lupita as she looks at them accusingly.  So..there you have it Mom, now go away.

Renata and Guille arrive at Mr. Castillo’s house. Afte Guille puts down his jacket, Mr. Castillo’s sister-in-law (SIL) offers them coffee as she notices the logo on Guille’s jacket. Renata notices the housekeeper’s unsettled look and asks if something is wrong, but SIL only responds that she will be back in a moment.

At Silvina’s house, Juls and Vale are walking away from Lupita who is doggedly following behind and asking what is going on; she saw them kissing. Lupita grabs for Vale and demands to know what she did to her daughter. Juls defends Vale and clarifies that Vale did nothing to her; this is something that they both have done. Lupita argues that she is Juls’s mother and Juls has never done anything bad, but Juls retorts that this is not bad…love is not a perversion…and this is the most beautiful thing she has felt in all her life. After Lupita insists that Vale took advantage of Juls, she asks who else knows about this. The girls remain silent; so Lupita tells Vale to get out, but Juls reminds her that she is running off Vale from the place that Vale got for them. Yeah, maybe both of you move into a cardboard box in the Bum camp outside of town smarty.  Vale walks out on her own as she cries. Lupita wonders why Juls is doing this to her and where she (Lupita) went wrong; so Juls snaps back that this is no one’s fault and this is not about Lupita. Juls didn’t know she was going to fall in love with a woman. Lupita doesn’t think Juls knows what she’s talking about, but Juls argues that she does know. She had never fallen in love and it just so happened that the first person she fell in love with is a woman. Lupita doesn’t understand that; she thinks Jils is being influenced by the rich girl. Now, with more reason, they will leave the city; and they are leaving this house right now so they won’t be in debt to that girl. Juls denies that she is dazzled by Vale’s money; she is in love with Vale and that won’t change just because Lupita says so. As Juls walks away, Pancho arrives with flowers in hand.  Oh Crap.

At Mr. Castillo’s house, SIL is replaying the video of the night Mr. Castillo was shot and recognizes the logo on Guille’s jacket. After she leaves, Luisa, the wife, comes in and sees what SIL was looking at.  Oh CRAP on steroids.

At Barb’s house, Beltrino is questioning Cami about what he has found out and why this is happening to them. Cami hasn’t found out anything, but he is researching everything. When Cami explains that there are certain patterns which occur, Beltrino wonders if Cami has cured anyone because he wants this guy to give him back his body. Cami believes that what Beltrino is asking is impossible. They argue until LCJ interrupts and thinks it’s very easy for Beltrino to ask for his body back when LCJ has no idea where his body is; for all he knows, his body is six feet under. Beltrino thinks that they can just switch bodies, but if Cami can’t help them, then they are back to square one. Barb interjectst that Death is the one who is in charge; this didn’t happen just because…Death reunited them. Cami questions what Barb is saying, so Barb explains that Death appears to her once in while. She isn’t crazy about it, but Barb thinks that Death is using her to communicate. Beltrino interrupts and complains that they can’t understand what Death says. After Beltrino and Barb argue, Beltrino asks Cami to tell them about the other cases so that they can try to understand. Cami mentions Hec-Maru’s case, but when he mentions Santos, Beltrino recognizes the name immediately. They all think that Santos was killed. Beltrino assumes that it was Alacrán behind it and warns LCJ that Alacrán will not stop until he kills him.

In Johny’s office, Johny is givig Lucía the “I told you so” speech. Johny insists that Lucía tell him what it was that Johny didn’t give her that made her go to bed with a sicario. Just then, Mateo storms in and grabs Johny by the collar and accuses him of killing Susana. Johny and Mateo wrestle with each other as Lucía pleads with them to calm down and remember where they are.   Points for Mat.  Viewerville is pissed too, she was your future wife.

At Silvina’s house, Lupita keeps repeating to Pancho that she saw the girls kissing; she knew Juls had a secret and that secret was Vale. When Pancho questions why she is surprised and tells Lupita that there is nothing wrong with Juls falling in love with her friend, Lupita gets upset and wonders what Pancho knows about such things. All Lupita wants is the best for her daughter; Juls has enough with the father she ended up with…and now people will be calling her names. Pancho advises her not to be prejudiced which only serves to suppress people’s happiness. Lupita thinks that this can ruin her daughter’s life, but Pancho argues that she needs to have an open mind before she pushes Juls away even further. Meanwhile, outside, Juls cries as she remembers her mother’s harsh words.

At Johny’s office, Mateo accuses Johny and blurts out that if he didn’t kill Susana, then he sent someone to kill her. Johny feigns shock and wonders where Mateo would get that idea. After Mateo yells that Susana told him about all the threats Johny made, Johny denies everything and states that Magda, his secretary, can attest to the fact that he has been trying to contact Susana all day long. Mateo doesn’t believe anything they say because Johny had every motive to kill Susana. When Lucía interjects that the police have declared the death an accident, Mateo reminds her that they know very well what Johny is capable of. Lucía knows that this is more difficult for Mateo since Susana was his friend, but he won’t resolve anything by what he is doing; he needs to wait to see what the police say. Mateo calms down and agrees to wait. After everyone leaves, Lucía breathes deeply wondering what Johny has done now.

At Mr. Castillo’s house, Guille and Mr. Castillo are working on the new puzzle and Renata is on her phone when Luisa comes out with a gun. After she points the gun at Guille and announces that he was the one who left her husband in a wheelchair, the cops come in accompanied by SIL and tell Luisa to put down the gun. Somebody call the cat. He can start back using his litter box now.

Lucia and tequila are bad mix.

Such detail, excitement, screen shots and all.!!!

Seems like things are going to be wrapped up too quickly for a believable ending. IMHO.

I'd love to hear what others GUESS will be the ending.

Victoria: Eva is one EVIL BITCH isn't she ? Sending her Drug-Lord lover to exterminate Camilo & Co.,

RGV Chick: Why do I get the feeling Johnny will have Matteo whacked ?

Thanks Muy Mucho RCV Chik. I don't know about Johny whacking Mateo. Now that Mat is onto him, maybe, just maybe, he will start THINKING...something foreign to him, and get his guard up.

Eva is one sinister little bitch, and she is running Johny a close second or..maybe third. The frontrunners are all so evil it is hard to tell. Maybe a photo finish?

I soooo enjoyed smug entitled spoiled, (sleeping with my Renata) Guille finally getting his reward for participating in almost killing the liquor store fellow Castillo. Or more importantly, all this time allowing the real perp, his ex buddy to go free. You should see what Tlacoyo put on Facebook.
Teo, get a haircut and dust off your recipe book, Renata may not realize it yet, but she is available. Bring some catnip.

Barb was funny in a full rut. Perched up on the end of the sofa with her tail up in the air, dammit woman, they are contacts.

Yeah, Chipmunk is an ugly drunk.

Oh, so much to tell and so little time.

Thank you, RGV, I'm falling behind on watching but your recap is just as exciting as the actual show.
Everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING)seems to be reaching a boiling point. Johnny and Eva are both out of control, it almost seems a shame that they're not in cahoots, imagine all the chaos they could create.
I hope that Camilo and Mateo come out alive of this mess and hopefully Beltrino, too, for his family... although LCJ would deserve it more since he is the "good" soul.
Lucia needs to get her head straight and help Jacobo, how can she even doubt him after all that steamy sex is beyond my comprehension.
One thing is for sure: Renata, Mateo and Juls need to run for the hills, the Carvajal kids are trouble.

Great title and this particular phrase really caught my eye:

At the scorpion’s nest, Alacran has his pinchers up and flailing anxious for that sting he hasn’t been able make.

Wonderful image Rgv Chick.

I took umbrage at Kirby's characterization of Camilo's messy hair the other day, but it has indeed gone from delightfully rumpled to truly, wildly disheveled. Is this another metaphor like Lucia's bleak, blackish lipstick? Lemon Studios at work again.

I agree, it was rather cold-hearted for my dear Camillo to sally forth leaving his sirvienta Mercedes to face the wrath of el Alacrán and his gang. I'm going to credit the Scorpion with saving her life however. Maybe she reminded him of his bunny.

And find it hard to believe that the plebian Pancho, with the mysterious job and demanding family life, has had time to read up on the biological and historical origins of homosexuality and just like that, evolve to a wise, tolerant attitude. Convenient for a discussion with Lupita, but very unrealistic in my opinion.

Still enjoying Belchino and his interactions with LCJ. Kirby, your characterization of Barbara was a hoot. And the actress, as always, is doing a great job with her role. She certainly invaded LCJ's personal space as much as she possibly could during the episode. She's really had a juicy, fun role to play.

Thanks Rgv Chick. Your scorpion image was soooo perfect!

Lucia, Johny, Eva, all these evil ones are quick to condemn others for the same crimes they have committed. But it is not truly that they hold others to a different standard than themselves, it is only because it serves their purpose at the moment, or to obscure their own tracks.
Kill them all..................

Thank you, Chickie. I cannot believe that Camilo just walked away and left his poor housekeeper alone to meet the baddies. A good guy would have grabbed her a hustler her along.

Snow day due to icy , rural roads, and I am babysitting two of my grandgirls . Sunny and clear..but cold here..in the 40s now.

I don't know, maybe I'm just weird, but all the other evil characters can't compare to the obnoxious, annoying, disgusting, pompous, etc. etc. etc. Johny.

This pretty action-packed show is too short, IMO. Why is Televisa producing such short telenovelas and not the long (150+) ones that get so boring watching and need a beanie almost all the way through?

Gracias, RGVChick. You left no stone unturned.

Camilo had better give Mercedes a major raise and a paid vacation for what she just went through. I was shocked to the max that he ran out and left her behind. No wonder he was never married.

Lupita needs to get over this stuff. Having a gay daughter isn't the end of the world. Juliana can still give her nietos.

Johny showed his true stupidity with the allergy question. Here's hoping that trips him up.

Sooo, what will / should Saintly Guille do now that he has been found out?

He is not nearly as guilty, if you will, as his accomplice who actually pulled the trigger, and who later showed NO remorse. Guille was tremendously remorseful, enough to almost adopt the victim, but not quite enough to turn in his accomplice, (and himself in the process.)

Surely he will not be an idiot and continue to protect the turd who actually shot the man. He can truthfully admit that he had no idea his buddy would really shoot anyone. Of course there is no verifiable evidence to corroborate that in Guille's defense.

Renata is a even bigger idiot if she sticks with him. Patch things up with the pisser, and have Keila secretlynotsosecretly call Teo for her.

RGV--Action-packed episode and an action-packed recap. Thank you for a wonderful romp through the twists and turns of real life mixed with the spirit world. It's a surprise to me that it all hangs together--just as Juls was beginning to believe as well. Through all the chaos of the episode, it was the only one that had me grinning for a lot of the time (including Mateo and Johny trying to act like schoolyard toughs.

In Cam's defense (but not a very big one), I don't think he was expecting the gang to show up on his doorstep. I think he was expecting the very polite police to show up. When he saw who was waiting for him at the front door and ducked out the back door, he may have decided it was too late to go back in and hustle Mercedes out without her putting up some resistance. If he had, they both would have been dead. With LCJ and Beltrino and all his research at risk, he chose to go be with LCJ. At the very least he could have called the popo. They COULD have shown up as fast as they did between the time Castillo's SIL called them and Luisa walked out with the gun trained on Guille.

Victoria--If we take the theme song literally, either Jacobo or Lucia or maybe both will die at the end. If they do, I hope they reconcile, she learns he's Leon and they die together--for love.

Maybe Johny should be the instrument of their demise and he watches in horror as his entire pre-planned future of a life of luxury evaporates and is hauled off to prison. As this is being done, Beltrino, pissed to the heavens that his body is being killed, dispatches Johny. Death Chick is very pleased with him and gives him his body back after Jacobo dies but Fabian decides to give him the coup de grace after all. Death Chick has a new mission and puts Fabian in El Alacran's body (who dies in a shoot-out.

I won't even deign to give Eva her just desserts. But she just HAS to be revealed as a narco-hag. With Guille out of commission, who is left to run the "family" business? Vale? She's too conflicted and self-absorbed. How about Camilo? Nah, I think he'd finish his book and promote it on the talk-show circuit. Sadly, he couldn't save his great friend. Everybody will think he's a kook.

Love all the comments.

Greetings, Patio! And a big thank you to all for your gracious critiques.

Victoria, UA is planning on putting up a "Karmaggedon" discussion page soon. I'm looking forward to everyone's predictions.

Steve, I'm sure whacking Mateo will be on Johny's mind, but first he has to find out if Mateo has any evidence to back up his accusation.

I just could not believe Camilo was so thoughtless, Susanlynn, ITA, he should have grabbed Mercedes as he dashed to the back door and told her to stay away until further notice. A few lost points for our "abandoned lot."

Victoria, there are definitely too many evil characters and I too am of the opinion that Johny is the worst. I can tolerate looking at Lucia, Eva, Gancho, and Alacran, but when Johny is on screen, I am repulsed!

Kirby, I agree with all your comments on Guille. He was bound to pay for his sin sooner or later. Interesting that it was actually Tlacoyo who "set him up" for the fall...sly cat finally got Guille out of his bed. But, as you stated,Guille hs been tremendously remorseful and, in a way, has taken responsibility for what his "friend" did. I'm hoping that will be taken into account.

Adriana, OMGoodness, just to think of Johny and Eva working together sends cills up my spine, but, even without knowing it, they are both destroying what Leon worked so hard to build up. Que lastima!

JudyB, I too was quite amazed that Pancho had read up on homosexuality. My question is whyyyy? ITA very unrealistic!

UA, Montilla seems to have quite a bright light bulb...most of the time. I do hope he sees through Johny's act. If Mateo would just talk to Montilla, things might get really hot for Johny.

JudyB, I was not an avid fan of Barbara, but she has slowly grown on me. Her expressions and reactions to certain situations are hilarious. ..you just never know what will come out of that mouth. Beltrino is a very close second. This sicario has quite a sense of humor, though sometimes unintentionally. I would have loved to be on the set when they were shooting that scene where Barb and Beltrino were all over LCJ. I bet they had a hard time keeping a straight face.

Oh Anita, "They (the cops) COULD have shown up as fast as they did between the time Castillo's SIL called them and Luisa walked out with the gun trained on Guille." Thanks for bringing that up! Wasn't that unrealistically fast? And when did Luisa see Guille's jacket? They never showed her going into the living room!

Adriana, typo in my comment to you..."Johny and Eva working together sends cHills up my spine..."

If the writers decide to give Jacobo and Lucia their happy ending together, they could have them each transmigrate into two other bodies . However, I do not think there will be a happy ending together for them or maybe for any of these folks. As Judyb once wisely pointed out, there really are no happy endings , but if people are lucky they get happy beginnings and middles.

Chickie..love that beautiful purple flower. Is it in your yard?

OT, SusanLynn, thanks. The flower, called Passion of Christ, is a vine which I planted in my garden. It was a beautiful large vine until my gardener whacked it with the weed eater :-( It has grown back a few times, but it doesn’t last very long. I’m hoping to see another sprig come up this spring so I can pot it. Crossing my fingers...

Adrianna: Juls is still in danger ?

Yes, Steve, diving is a dangerous sport.

While I agree that the Panchito thing is most likely written as just a convenience thing in order to educate Lupita on her ignorance of the subject,I don't find it unrealistic at all.

There's plenty of things that I've read up on that don't have a direct affect on my life. From different religions, to different countries I'll most likely never visit. I don't have a huge interest in science stuff or bugs, but I've read things about cordyceps and ants simply because an article title caught my attention.

Panchito could have read up on it for any number of common reasons. An article or news story he saw got his attention. He has kids, so he could have saw something in his kids that made him research. Or his daughter could have asked him about something she heard at school. He could have family or friends that are gay and he wanted to educate himself on it to understand what they were going through. He obviously has the time to be at Lupitas beckon call. So having the time to read up a little on a subject isn't that far of a stretch, I don't think.

Anon 5:26, Pancho certainly does seem to have plenty of time on his hands and the reasons you outline for reading a variety of topics have much merit. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

OT...Chickie, my dad once pulled a plant that my mother loved because he thought that it was a weed. She was furious. It was called a money plant. She used to dry it . The leaves looked like translucent coins.

Susanlynn

And some say money doesn't grow on trees (plants in this case)!!!!

Susanlynn, I had never heard of a money plant. Leaves that look like coins would be something very interesting to see.

Rgv, beautiful exotic plant.
