Coming Re-e-e-ally Soon to a Screen Near You…

·         Premios TV Y NovelasSunday night! March 17th on Univisión: 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm (E)

·        Sin Tu Mirada – starts March 19th on Univisión: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (E) to replace En Tierras Salvajes

The tale revolves around Marina (Claudia Martín) who was thought to be born dead, but, Nopis, she survives, but she is blind…and she is also rich! BUT only the village midwife knows that she is rich (sigh). Osvaldo de Leon plays Luis Alberto (main protag) who was born a few hours after Marina. He is raised rich, but was really born poor.

I won’t say anything more…watch it and weep J

Will there be a place to discuss Sin tu mirada?

RGV Chickie,

· Sin Tu Mirada... watch it and weep [smiley]

How's about "watch it and smile"? Wouldn't that be better?

:-)

Anon 6:53, keep checking this post. I will have a response by Monday.

Andy, one can weep with joy :-)

Rgv Chick,

"Andy, one can weep with joy :-)"

OK, Chickie, I'll keep an open mind. Thanks!

andy

will check back thank you

RGV Chick: I knew I recognized Claudia Martin (Teflon Eva) from "AMAR A MUERTE".

Hi everybody. Thanks RGV for this noticia.

Sin Tu Mirada is old schmaltz recycled, so it will be fun to watch the "updates." It certainly won't be any worse than En Tierras Salvajes.

I plan to post-watch the Premios on my DVR--saves time.

Anon 6:53, it is a YESSSS! Discussion pages will be set up like those for "Telemundo y Mas." The only difference is that the "Daytime TNs" will only be posted once a week.

Anita, yes, I'm recording Premios too...to avoid all the commercials. And, I first watched the "old schmaltz" when I was just a kid!! So it will be really nice to see the "updates."

Thank you. Post will be for all daytime and afternoon novelas?

Yes, the post will be for discussion of any daytime or afternoon novela. There won’t be any recaps unless some commenter chooses to post highlights, a brief synopsis or bullet points of the episode. There is no guarantee of a recapper providing recaps....but at least you’ll have somewhere to share your thoughts.

Great. Thank you RGV.

So what will this new page be called?

Who else is watching Sin tu mirada?

It’ll be called something really original: “Daytime TNs” :-)

I’ll be watching Sin Tu Mirada.

Hi all!
I have been a lurker for quite some time, and I must say I've really enjoyed the blog...You all seem so welcoming and I've been motivated to join you all.

So it seems you guys are about to start on Sin Tu Mirada. It has been interesting for the 30 episodes that have aired here in Kenya.Should be sure to comment on the weekly discussions as I've wanted this so much! And you guys might as well pass us, as we only get a half episode per day airing 5 nights. Argh!

Happy to meet you all!
Brayoe

Welcome. I’m a lurker too. Finally decided to comment. Excited for Sin tu mirada.

Welcome Brian and Anon 5:11!! So glad to have you joining us. The more the merrier :-)

Thanx RGV Chick.

You're welcome, Luke and a big WELCOME from Caray! :-)

Its has been a while since I have been able to comment. I'm new to novelas compared to you all. I really enjoyed En Tierras Salvajes and wished there had been a discussion page. I will be watching Sin tu mirada and I hope to read and comment on it. Thank you.

Welcome, BlueJean!! Looking forward to your comments. Nice avatar! I'm a Texan too :-)

Bluejean--I think you will enjoy Sin tu Mirada (really I do). What probably saved En Tierras Salvajes was the casting--all powerhouses, rather than the story.

Note to everyone who is not familiar with the Telemundo format for Comments.

ALWAYS BEGIN YOUR COMMENT WITH THE NAME OF THE NOVELA, in case there is more than one being discussed. It can be a shortened title, like "Mirada." If it's a comment of general nature, then "OT" is the way to start.

What is "OT"?

Nina, "OT" means Off Topic

Maybe I will give "Mirada" a try.

Susanlynn, it sounds like a nice, classic TN, a nice break from what we've been seeing in Primetime lately.

Yeah I am in need of a good classic TN. Tired of these “second season” TNs.

Premios Telenovelas was great...Many actors won for AAM......beautiful theme song kept playing as they announced their names...The best novela ever...it will become a classic.......loved Arturo Barber..sexy man...

It was a sweet night for AAM, for sure.

I watched Sin tu mirada when it first aired in Mx and it has some nice acting, despite the classic plot that everybody knows. And there is a twist at some point, but I won't ruin it for those watching now.
If you're fed up with narco novelas and really want some old-fashioned telenovela story telling this is a good choice.

Thanks, Adriana, for keeping us informed. Even though you've already watched it, please visit our new daytime page to weigh in once in awhile. We all want to watch your little ones grow.

Thank you for your input, Adriana. I'm ready for a classic telenovela. Corazon Que Miente was one that I enjoyed recently. Should we print out some telenovela Bingo cards? 😉

Welcome to our lurkers who created screen names!!! They really help us "get to know" our telenovela friends here on The Patio of Lowered Expectations. We also issue telenovela beanie hats to all newcomers. They help one suspend disbelief when the plots get silly and have
chin straps for truly ridiculous plots twists.. 😊

Chickie and Doris...yes, I would definitely like to see the type of telenovela that I first saw when I fell down this rabbit hole. There probably will never be another historical fiction telenovela, but I would like one about family and love . ...the instead of the drugs and violence we have been getting .

♥susanlynn - I would be happy (very happy) if Univision re-ran the entire Corazon Salvaje '93. I think many people would be happy.

No spoilers but Carlos de La Mota is also in this as a baddie. He does a really great job in this telenovela. I think you will like it :)
