La Usurpadora - Capitulo 15 - "Denial ain't just a river in Egypt"
Labels: usurpadora
Paola wisely tells him [Wilson] to get over it and to get rid of this look of an idiot, lest it stays with him for his whole life. (For once we agree with Paola, but must say – already too late for that advice…).
Gees, Paulina let Carlos sleep in her room? I guess she was afraid he'd block her Colombia trip if she got too pushy.
Perversely, I get a kick out of Wilson and Paola emptying the charity's bank account. Paola is a master at causing trouble and has wasted no time screwing over everything dear to Paulina. Come on, Paulina. You are going to have to think devious to take on your loca sis.
"Back in Bogota Paola is still basking in the post-Wilson glow back at his apartment, while Wilson is still unsuccessfully trying to assimilate all of this into his apparently very space-constrained brain" was my favorite of many.
"It doesn’t even occur to Olga to question a perfect stranger (suppose if it did, she wouldn’t be now living with one)" - so true!
"the fruits of her shopping endeavors" did result in a "a borderline cute moment, laugh and hug". Nice seeing Olga's eyes light up for a bit.
Let's get the most distasteful scene of the night over with. Manny and Ter. A "
new level of creepiness" indeed. There's only one rung lower, any scene involving the toilet so let us hope we will not be subjected to that.
Niecie, I was surprised by Carlos wanting to sleep in Pau's room. He was married to the real "Paola" who would have torn him limb from limb. I think the imposter felt cornered by Carlos and was afraid to do anything to jeopardize the truth. I think she is a dutiful daughter who always did what she was told.
"Monse herself, she explains, has been on a romantic diet for a while". I can't believe no one has noticed this gem.
So happy Pau stonewalled Manuel who is getting nastier by the day.
I suppose every mother wants to believe the best of their child and that Olga is trying to hold onto hope. Unfortunately, there is none there.
Not excited by Pau's "love match" with Nava. I do wish we'd seen more of Pedro and his partner though.
Happy Liz put her nasty nana in her place.
Now that Nava has Paola, what on earth will he do with her?
Thank you Ria. Superb.
Diana
Diana - that's a very good point on Paulina feeling cornered. She looked it too. And I agree on the surprise element of Carlos even inviting himself. Also, I can't believe no one noticed Monse either! She, along with Pedro, is one of my favorites! I hear you on Nava - it just seems there hasn't been enough character development away from "playboy", and also building the feelings between him and Paulina. I guess it's the downside of such a short novela. Sadly I am even less excited about Carlos.
I wonder what Nava will do with Paola too. Plus it seems like everyone else was meeting up elsewhere, so would he take her there?
Have to give the Manual actor credit for agreeing to a shower scene. Bless his heart, at his age, he's no Fernando Colunga, and it takes courage to expose yourself like that. I give him major points. He's a fine actor anyway. But that sad scene actually elevated him in my opinion.
Thanks RIA. Always deftly written and very readable.
Jarifa - yes, yay Nava! Carlos is trying though to....do something. Never know with him, but we'll see where this goes.
Anon 5:42 - I think you may have been trying to post in El Dragon, which is one posting above. It's a bit confusing as I think it just needs a page break to hide the post partially from the main page, which hopefully Rgv Chick can do for us next week! But head on over to ask your question there!
Diana, thank you for pointing out all the great lines; it saves me much time :-)
JudyB, I agree with you and Diana about the welcome respite from Paola's nastiness, but it is so out of character for her. I have serious doubts about her true intentions in being nice to Olga.
Anon 5:42, your question is about "El Dragon, but I'll go ahead and respond here; the strange scene you are referencing is here-- http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2019/10/el-dragon-10319-4-putting-plans-into.html (fifth paragraph from the bottom).
So glad Paulina got to see n hug mom.
So glad Nava was able to stop what would have been a sad sick situation had Paola been able to catch mom.
Carlos is a sneaky devil. He's tryin to worm his way into paola/pauluna's nether regions. He's full of it. Lots of kinky stuff gonna go down before it
All comes together.
The creepy bro/sis combo won't end well either. They will either end up
Killin each other, or Terry will kill Paola and manny. Whatever, there will be much blood spillage.
ITA, it's to late for Wilson. Wilson is at the top of his class in idiotic
Smarts. He deserves whatever he gets. He's stealing from poor people. Thats
Just sick.
I hope gema can get to Carlos before it is to late. Paulina has Enough to deal with fending off his advances(and y'all know it's gonna be some). He is
Already plotting with "reunited and it
Feels so good"playin in the background NOT! Nava get your lady out of harms way.
Thank you Ria.
Nina - as usual, nodded in agreement to your comments. “Reunited and it feels so good in the background” is priceless!!
