SINOPSIS:

Elisa Cantu never imagined that the trip from New York, where she resides, to her native Mexico in order to celebrate her birthday with her family, would end in the tragedy that will change her life forever.  Soon, Fate will carry her to meet Leonardo Velasco, a brave police officer who fights to see justice done and who will help her to discover the mystery behind her father, Augusto Cantu's, murder.  Together with her mother, Victoria, and her sisters, Renata and Majo, Elisa will do even the impossible in order to discover the truth; in this way, this will take her to the point of putting at risk her own life and that of her family.

(Angelique Boyer) Elisa Cantu: 

Aged 30 - Daughter of Victoria and Augusto Cantu, an important construction industry entrepreneur who admires above all material things.  Art curator, enterprising, courageous, and an enthusiastic lover of precolonial Latin American culture.  She is the sister of both Renata and Maria Jose.  Love will arrive unexpectedly in her life upon meeting Leonardo Velasco.

             (Andres Palacios) Leonardo Velasco:

Aged 36 - Investigator for the Mexican Guardia Nacional.  He is engaged to Julia.  He has a very straightforward, modest family and he admires his brother, Jose Luis, who is also a policeman.  Along the way, he will come across Elisa Cantu, who avoids deciding whether to save her or to apply the law.

                                        (Lety Calderon) Victoria de Cantu 

Aged 56 - Well bread and likes keeping up appearances.  She has three daughters: Renata, Elisa, and Maria Jose, all whom she loves but she has them subject to her mandates.  She is married to Augusto Cantu, but her marriage is deteriorating.  She gets close to Julia's (Leonardo's fiancee) family in order to discover the truth.  

                                        (Alejandra Robles Gil)  Maria Jose Cantu

Aged 24 -  is the youngest of the Cantu dynasty.  She believes to have her future assured thanks to the family fortune, but a terrible occurrence will change her life and bring her to meet true love.  This will pit her against her family, without realizing that she is falling into a dangerous trap.  

                                       (Susana Gonzalez) Renata Cantu

Aged 38 - she suffers from a mental disorder that makes her vulnerable, but at the same time she doesn't fear confronting whoever harms her.  She is Elisa and Maria Jose's sister and is married to Marcelo., with whom she wants to have a child at any cost.  Because of her infirmity, she feels pushed into the background by her family.  

                                       (Alejandro Camacho) Eugenio Serrano 

Aged 64 - Powerful businessman and best friend of Augusto Cantu.  In front of Victoria Cantu, he is good-natured and kind and will do anything in order to protect his family; but in reality, he is a manipulative man, cruel and capable of cheating and swindling whoever surrounds him.  Elisa Cantu will be the key element in exposing him.

                                       (Hernán Mendoza) Jose Luis Velasco

Aged 48 -  Head honcho in the Prosecuting Attorney's office/District Attorney and older brother to Leonardo, whom he helped with his studies after the death of their father.  He is totally committed to his job as a policeman and fights to enforce the law.  Together with Elisa and Leonardo, he will do the impossible to see justice done.

                                        (Iván Arana) Dario Ramirez

Aged 38 - Works in an art-trafficking organization and money launders.  He is a cold-blooded criminal, suspicious, and resentful because of the accident that condemned his mother to a wheelchair.  Despite his high desire for revenge, he will come across Maria Jose who will change his life completely.  

                                       (Michelle González) Fernanda Navarro

Aged 31 - she works at The Cantu Group.  Astute, calculating, and ambitious, she is ashamed of her past and does everything possible to shield herself from it.  She is close to the Cantu family and is Elisa's best friend, who is hiding a huge secret from her.

                                        (Javier Jattin) Fabricio Serrano

Aged 34 -  Accepted (recognized) son of Eugenio Serrano, he is an economist and lives in England.  He had a relationship with Fernand and comes back to Mexico in order to demonstrate his talents as an entrepreneur  He falls in love with Elisa, which complicates all plans that he has of taking control of The  Cantu Group.
