Good morning all, just a heads up I have a couple of appointments right after work today. I will be posting a recap for Guerrero but it will be posted later than usual. Possibly much later than usual

GUERRERO Episode 25 La Fiesta Patronal Part 1

Mommy Dearest crashes the engagement party. Conchita grabs her oar (LOL). MD wants them and their “plebeian” stuff out the door when their rental agreement ends. Mari threatens to throw her out by the hair if she doesn’t stop talking crazy to her mom and leave.

Isaías starts the music and Villalba asks Guadaloopy to dance. Clumsy dancing ensues.

Fede tells Augi that their visitor (Tata) got away without being captured on camera. They decide they will not be blackmailed for money and the brothers will be eliminated.

Adrián cracks the code on the land. He’s quite the natural with legalese.

Emma tells Rod he must clear things up or a wedding is in the works. Rod worries only about his followers (naturally). A sycophant points out that Augi’s vengeance would be worse than any wedding. Rod make a video and plays the victim apologizing for the precious video. MD says it’s not enough, calls Emma an embarrassment, and takes her cellphone.

Sam offers to go to Tata’s to quiet him. Jesús & Damián say no way. They must stay united. Jesús will come up with a plan. He’s glad they resolved the Domi issue. They must remember above all else they are family. Domi calls and wants to see Sam.

Adrian sees Rod’s video and decides to call Emma. Mommy Dearest does not answer the call. He decides he will write her a song and perform it at the patronal feast.

Domi asks Sam why Tata wanted to visit Augie. Sam says he just wants money not to re-kidnap. Domi can’t believe she’s was at the point of murder. He tells her not to worry. Tata is not coming back. Jesús will take care of it. Jesús always fixes everything (Awwwww!). He trusts Jesús. She hugs him. Damián watches this embrace from afar. Damián thinks she’s made her choice (Sam). He takes his ire out on a fence. His old friend Peste (LOL) shows up and asks Damián to help with a robbery. He owes him one (for saving him earlier).

Domi apologizes for hugging Sam. He reads her a poem - confessing his love. She freaks, he backtracks, and she asks him to forget about her. She leaves.

Damián is thinking out loud. On one hand Peste (Best/Worst.Name.Ever) wants him to help with a crime. On the other hand, he has lost Doménica. He’s actually talking aloud to his mom. He will honor his fraternal pact. Then he recognizes a clue in the painting. The E & the C (from Elisa’s signature) are the same. He think he has found their mother and summons Jesùs.

The signature matches a painter named Cor Eli. Jesús says, “That’s our tree.” Sam says, “We have a tree?!!” LOL. Jesùs says no. It’s the tree where he and Mari played as kids, and she promised herself to him. Their mothers maiden name was Elisa Corso; hence, Cor Eli

GUERRERO Episode 25 La Fiesta Patronal Part 2

Isaías & Mari are preparing flowers for the fiesta. Mrs. Isaías calls and reminds him they have an OBGYN appointment and she needs help with the little one. He pretends he’s talking to his homey. Mari tells him to go support his homey. Mari gushes at what a great dad Isaías will be. The patio projectile vomits demurely.

Augi has stopped by the garage and tells the brothers they are doing excellent work. The race car driver will be coming to take photos with the team. Valero is excited to meet a professional driver. Fede will bring their official crew outfits for the photos.

Fede and Mommy Dearest appear to be mid-romp when their attention turns to a mystery elixir Fede has procured. MD is worried it’s not enough. Fede assures her it only takes a few drops. He wants her to be careful. She wants more potion…and more romp.

Carloca shows up at the church and mocks Mari. She notes Isaías’ absence and then says she and Jesús will be visiting the priest soon as they want to get married. Mari walks away and Carloca sabotages her chair by placing a tile under one of the legs.

Adrián talks to his mom’s photo. He’s excited about being a legal beagle, but conflicted with Jesús’ orders and Emma.

Emma talks to Renata via tablet (as MD still has her phone - LOL). Emma has a plan!

Jesús comes to the church and offers to help Mari. She refuses, steps on the booby-trapped chair, and falls on him! They ask if each other is ok. Carloca comes and pushes Mari out of the way. She walks Jesús out and tells Mari to be careful!

Damián talks to Peste. He will do this favor (after the fiesta) and their score will be settled! He drives away.

Carloca RN rubs Jesús’ sore back and then leads him to a couch where she orders his shirt off. As his girlfriend he should trust her. Shirt is off and she pokes and prods and rubs. She starts to kiss his back when Valero walks in and is shocked by the Bow Chicka Wow Wow action in front of him. She leaves to get ready for the fiesta. Valero asks her for a message. She says Ew! Valero asks Jesús for a massage from Carloca (LOL) and notes that she is cute and appears to be crazy about Jesús.

The Ruíz-Montalvos are all decked out for the fiesta patronal. I don’t know anything about these festivals or fashions, but Augi may very well have a concealed weapon hidden in the red accoutrement to his black jacket. He checks Emma’s sugar. He’s happy to celebrate and reminds them never to forget their roots or who they are.

Mommy Dearest comes in looking pretty hot and delivers a stern warning: she wants Emma by her side the whole night. Carloca grabs MD on the way out - knocking her purse to the floor. MD stays behind to collect herself - revealing the aforementioned elixir. dun Dun DUN.

The fiesta patronal is in full swing. Lots of fair games when Augi & Family stroll in. The mechanics also make a grand entrance. Sam & Damián have similar bow ties/weapon concealers.

Carloca grabs Jesùs - marking her territory. Conchita, Lupe, Mari, Mica, and Villalba make their entrance. Augi takes note. The pozole will be served soon.

Damián leaves with Peste. Sam follows curiously and then runs into Selena. She gives him cotton candy and asks how he’s doing with the girl from their Celos Plan. She can see he still pines for his neighbor and encourages him to go for it.

Mommy Dearest keeps Emma on a short lease. It appears the elixir is for the pozole! Adrian kicks off the entertainment with a song/rap. Emma watches. The kitchen is unattended. MD heads over and pours the whole bottle in the pozole.

FIN

O/T

Darcy, thanks for the heads up. Travel and weather have made it challenging for me to join ya’ll on the patio lately, but I am here!

Good luck with your appointments. I hope this helps lighten your load!

Guerrero

O.S. What a AMAZING surprise!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And now, I have one less thing to do today, which I definitely needed! I've been go, go, go until about half an hour ago. Your recap is STELLAR!! So informative and with such flair! You captured everything so clearly, adding wit and humor to boot! I didn't even catch Peste's name, I was just going to call him 'dude', lol.

I love Mommy Dearest (the title, not the person)! She is so horrible, though good at being horrible. I can't believe she's willing to poison who knows how many people just to stick it to Lupe. What a heartless self-absorbed person. I've met so few truly horrible people in my life but they are a dime a dozen in novelas! LOL

I was surprised Mommy Dearest just walked in the Garcia house and announced she bought it. And that she bought it just so she can kick the Garcia's out. Vicky is ruthless but she hasn't seemed stupid up til now. She knows Augi always comes to his nanna's (or Lupe's) defense. I would have expected her to try to keep the fact that she bought the house to kick them out on the DL in hopes that Augi didn't find out.

I laughed out loud at the scene where Augi was talking to Fede and he said 'No one extorts Augusto Luiz Montalvo' and Fede's just like 'yeah, you're probably going to have to pay him!' So funny!!

I admire that Damian wants to do the right thing at least with Domi, but I'm worried his sense of duty/obligation to Peste is going to land him in hot water!

Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco (Jesus) has some seriously sculpted Abs. We've seen them before but not that close up. All these men have nice bodies but that six pack was on point!

The scene with Sam and Domi was sad but I was distracted by the fact that he's already reading and writing letters!!! Fastest learner EVER!!! :) And the most adorable one! :) His scene with Selena was cute too, in a different way.

Again, this was FANTASTIC!!! Welcome Back! And thank you again for doing this!!! If you're ready for your very own recap day just let me know. You can have Mondays, or any day you want - except Thursday, because Adriana is back this week too and she already claimed Thursday!

Guerrero

Darcy, thank you for the very kind words of encouragement and show analysis. I can’t wait till Adriana is back and the patio has more commentary, speculation, and review. I’m not quite ready to take on the responsibility of day(s) recapping, but I’m certainly very close and don’t mind pinch hitting. The weather/wifi remain a challenge in this area, and when I commit, I do not want to leave anybody hanging.

You gave very astute observations about Mommy Dearest. There were several times where Augi characteristically would have saved the day upon learning of Vic’s machinations.

This novela could have also been called Corazón Chippendales as they’ve never shied away putting the mecánico’s fine physiques on display. It’s 2023; nothing wrong with equal opportunity eye candy.

The Sam/Domi scene was adorable yet somewhat of a beanie check. The fastest learner ever is an overnight poet?!! The overnight poet struggled with his own heartfelt words?!! Meh. I want this triangle to clear up quickly. Domis has made it clear Sam is in the Friend Zone. Damián needs to get away from Peste (cannot believe I’m typing this) and resume his dance with Domi.

OT

Darcy, they said on our news about the floods in California and I thought about you. I don't remember if you or some family members of yours live there, but stay safe anyway.

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S.! Ah ha! I knew Isaias wasn't really divorced! Carlota gets ever more dangerous. I wonder how they will get rid of her. And MD may be turning into a murderer, or at least also incredibly dangerous, not just an annoying adulterer and controlling mean mom and snob.

Guerrero

Thanks, SpanProf! I really appreciate the ongoing commentary from you and the patio for this fun novela.

They certainly keep us guessing.

MD & Augi are cruising for anvils, but then there’s that love song they play for him & Guadaloopy.

Meanwhile, Siegfried called. He wants Roy (Villalba) back!!!

Carloca gets our sympathy when she’s all sweet, and then she turns on a dime. Pure evil? Mental illness? Trauma?

Can’t wait for more.

O/T

Thank you Weirdo for thinking about me. I do not live in California but I was there plenty last year spending time with my mom before she passed. I do have family in Cali but most of them don’t live anywhere near the coast and the ones who do are doing well. They’ve had some storms but no flooding.

"GUERRERO":

OS: They sure do love keeping us guessing indeed. Lots of twists & turns!

Guerrero Capitulo 26 – Part 1 of 4

After Adrian’s performance, Emma gestures to Renata and she makes her move approaching Victoriana asking to borrow Emma for some time with the girls. Vicky hesitates but then lets Emma leave with Renata. Adrian is telling his friends that Emma is being punished and watched closer so he’s sure he won’t be able to see her tonight but at the very same time, Emma is switching clothing with her friend so she can sneak off to be with Adrian.

Emma sneaks up behind Adrian and surprises him. They talk briefly about the misunderstand and then run off to be alone while Vicky eyes the friend in pink thinking Emma is within sight.

Augi approaches Mariluz and gives her the good news. He found a guy who probably knows a guy… ie. He didn’t find her dad but he found someone who can probably tell her where to find her father. It’s a start and Mari is very thankful but Augi says she doesn’t need to thank him; it was his pleasure. They exchange words of support and promises that they can count on each other and Lupe looks on worriedly from her place serving food. Augi did say he’d come back in a bit and try the Pozole, I hope he gets a big bowl!!

D. Abel IS eating the Pozole!!! NO!!! But he and Conchita flirt adorably! He calls her Senora and she says words like that are for old people and we are young. She mentions his voice actor XEW (?) and he tells her more facts about the man offscreen.

Domi retreats from the fiesta to free her feet from her evil shoes and Sam runs into her and thinks something is wrong. Domi assures him she’s okay and just taking her shoes off but Sam is concerned about her walking barefoot. That’s not good, he tells her. Domi tries to insist she is fine but Sam just picks her up and carries her. Hilariously, he tells her he’s going to carry her like Pinto carries him! (LMAO) Domi keeps trying to protest that it’s two blocks and he’s going to get tired, Sam responds with I think not even Damian couldn’t carry you, so something like that. Domi laughs and smacks him on the arm.

Speaking of Damian, he’s about to do something shady and he doesn’t look one bit happy about it. He goes to look at the painting and begs mom to forgive him, he has no other choice. He promises this will be the only time, he isn’t a thief. She knows that.

Emma and Adrian get to where no one can see them and start dancing and kissing. Emma pulls back and tells Adrian she loves him and he’s the only one for her.

More of d. Abel and Conchita flirting, the background noise was kind of loud and I had a hard time hearing exactly what they were saying. What I did get was they were talking about the good old days, and d. Abel complimented Conchita’s outfit. Concha told him a secret that sometimes late at night when Mari and Lupe are asleep, she puts the dress on! (aw). She’s glad he likes it. Concha gives him her handkerchief (?), a memory of Conchita. Abel says he will keep it forever.

Sam took Domi all the way home and starts to carry her up the staircase when she finally convinces him to let her down on the landing. Sam asks if Domi has forgiven him and she has there’s nothing to forgive, she’s just trying to make sure he doesn’t get hurt any worse. Sam says what if we are friends and nothing else? Domi shakes his hand and agrees, friends and nothing else! She says putting emphasis on the nothing else. Domi asks him to wait as she goes to change her shoes, she’ll be right back. Sam goes and sits on the floor while waiting??

Damian and the thugs are outside of the target house, based on the coloring I am guessing it’s the Montalvo house but it isn’t said. Damian says, THIS is the house you want to rob? You’re crazy, there are security cameras everywhere! The thugs say they are familiar with the place and know where the camera blind spots are. A reluctant Damian says come to think of it, there’s something here I am interested in, let’s go. They prepare to enter.

Guerrero Capitulo 26 – Part 2 of 4

Adrian and Emma are now alone in a vehicle and getting comfy, and cozy and plenty up and personal. Adrian asks again if she is sure and she says yes, but we need protection. Looks like it’s on again. I wouldn’t want to have my first time in the backseat of a car but to each their own.

Augi is chatting with who knows who when he sees Tata and flashes back to their previous encounter when Tata was holding the Guerreros at gun point. A man brings Augi a note from Tata which says: ‘I have information about Octavio Sanchez’s sons, if you want to know what I know it’s going to cost you, big time!’ Augi takes a step toward Tata but Vicky comes up and deters him saying he has to be prepared for something.

It IS the Montalvo house the men are breaking into and Sam is still sitting on the floor in the living room, Domi is upstairs of course. The thugs plan their course of action and I can’t help but think that although Damian’s face is covered his t-shirt is showing and either Sam or Domi may recognize that if these boys are seen!

Augi had to prepare for his annual speech to the crowd which is now happening. He greets everyone and he says all the normal tradition stuff and Carlota decides to get up and interrupt the speech by offering the whole crowd a surprise, she introduces officially, Jesus Guerrero as her boyfriend and she wants him to come up for a special dance, which he does. Mari looks heartbroken.

Okay, so Sam has fallen asleep! Domi, girl, how long does it take to change your shoes? The thugs in black sneak around behind him and don’t notice him where he’s sitting and sleeping.

Augi tries to correct Carlota but she says she just couldn’t resist. She’s so happy she wants to share it with the world!! Augi thinks she’s going too far too fast and Carlota just spills a bunch of sappy words about Jesus being her life and how nothing made sense until he appeared in her life.

Jesus has now noticed that his brothers and cousin have gone missing. Valero has no idea where they went but he comments that Mari looks so sad, he thinks Jesus broke her heart. Jesus says don’t even tell me about that. Augi approaches and Valero makes himself scarce. Augi confronts Jesus and says he thought they agreed Jesus would take things slowly with Carlota. Jesus agrees that is true, but Carlota got excited, what can he do about that? Augi says he hopes Jesus feels that same excitement because he doesn’t want his daughter hurt. He’s capable of anything to eliminate anyone or anything that is a threat to Carlota’s happiness.

The men in black are in Augi’s study and Damian makes a beeline for the knife of his father. The other dude goes for the safe.

Mariluz is openly crying and Conchita guesses correctly that she’s crying for Jesus. Mari doesn’t want to talk about that so instead she tells Concha that she may have found the number of someone who can help her find her father! Conchita wants to know who that is but Mari says that’s not important now. She’s going to look for him, does grandma think mom will understand? She doesn’t want to hurt her but she needs to know her father. Conchita just encourages Mari to talk to Lupe, to convince her. Mari can’t give up on what she wants. The Garcia’s are fighters, warriors, it runs in their blood and Mariluz is the youngest, strongest warrior! As they talk, we see Jesus is watching Mariluz, he wants to approach but he doesn’t.

Guerrero Capitulo 26 – Part 3 of 4

Domi comes downstairs and says ‘ready’ which immediately wakes Samuel, he jumps up to meet her and we see she finally decided on slippers because she couldn’t find any shoes that didn’t hurt her feet. The unwitting robbers in the study make noise which is heard in the hallway and Domi asks ‘What was that?’ Sam says, he doesn’t know, a noise? (LOL) Interestingly, Damian shushes his friend and gets on to him for making noise – this is interesting because as far as they know the house is empty. Domi thinks someone is in the house and Sam tells her to stay there, he’ll protect her. He goes to check things out but before he can enter the study the other two guys exit out a side door. Damian goes to exit out the front for some reason and Sam jumps him not knowing it’s Damian. The two fight for a minute and Sam is able to get Damian’s mask off. Just as Sam is realizing that he’s once again fighting his brother, Domi comes up again and hits Damian over the head with a vase knocking him out. Domi wants to look at the face of the intruder but Sam tells her no, he’s going to wake up. I’ll do it, you go for help (I guess that means call the police?) Domi agrees and runs back into the house and I was worried thinking she was running into a house with two more thugs unknowingly, but it appears the other two escaped all the way out the door and off the property. They have no trouble running off and leaving Damian alone.

Meanwhile, poison soup is being served to one and all! Villalba shows up to get his bowl and says a bunch of stuff no one understands as always but the gist seems to be everyone loves the soup!

Augi is talking to Fede and saying how he saw the man who wants to talk to him about Octavio’s sons and he’s seen him once before at the Guerreros. He tried to catch up with him but he disappeared. He wants Fede to come immediately and start a search.

A worried Sam can’t wake Damian and he notices he’s bleeding, Damian finally wakes and Sam tries to ask why he’s doing this. Damian wants to know where the others are and Sam tells him he didn’t see any others they must have left. Sam tells him Domi went to call for help, he needs to leave. Damian starts to flee but Sam stops him and tells him to hit him! You have to brother, for Domi. Damian doesn’t want to but Sam convinces him and he hits Sam hard enough to knock him out and then runs away.

Emma and Adrian are basking in the afterglow and fighting over who loves the other more. I am wondering exactly where and in whose car they are. They agree it’s the best night of their lives and I find out the answer to my question a second later when the garage door starts to lift. They are in the shop!! Emma and Adrian duck to hide, but they see it is Damian. Damian calls Peste and says he got out but he couldn’t get the knife, did he? Dude has the thing in his hand but lies and says no, they couldn’t get anything and they didn’t open the safe. Damian says that’s well enough and don’t you dare return. This is where we leave everything.

Damian goes into the house and Emma and Adrian decide to get while the getting is good. They are off to another spot.

It turns out Domi went to get her personal security and not the police. They find Sam in the hallway unconscious, and Domi wakes him and asks what happened. Sam seems confused and says he doesn’t know, he left, he hit me and left. Domi says that’s okay, she tells the guards to go look for him because he’s probably still close by. They go armed and this worries Sam, Domi wants to know if Sam recognized the thief but he just grabs his head and says it hurts. Now Domi does call the police and asks for a patrol car to come because someone tried to rob her house.

Guerrero Capitulo 26 – Part 4 of 4

More scenes of young love and apparently the cousins built a house in their spare time? Emma and Adrian end up there and Adrian tells Emma about his mom and how Jesus, Damian and Sam gave him a family. Adrian wants to live love out loud but Emma says they have to keep hiding! If her parents find out they might send her to a boarding school out of the country! Does Adrian want that? Of course not! Emma says sometimes she feels like her parents don’t love her.

The amigas of Emma are still playing games and Vicky is talking to some snobby woman about how fortunate Emma is to have a guy like Rod?? Apparently, she too thinks his apology video was some wonderful gesture. Vicky says of course, he’s so in love with Emma! Snobby says he’s a much better choice than the boyfriend of your stepdaughter, is he really a mechanic? (Perish the thought) Vicky says you know how much Carlota likes making a scene. She’s crazy and surely that’s the only reason she’s dating that nobody! They next discuss how Iker is supposedly the catch of the year and how exciting it is Domi is going to marry him! Iker appears as if they summoned him, and I think those bruises improved his face! Iker asks about Domi and when he hears she’s not there, he says she’s probably with that Damian dude! Vic throws a spoiled size fit about her daughter dating a mechanic and Iker says no worries, she won’t stay with him if I can help it. These two make a separate Domi from Damian pact.

The youngest daughter is with a budding lawyer, that should make the wicked witch happy but it won’t. Adrian and Emma swear an oath to love each other forever. They even do the whole blood brothers’ bit to seal it.

Augi is talking to Patricio about what a great guy he is to support the people. Patricio says everyone loves Augi and if he were to run for office, Patricio would support his campaign. Augi says he’ll think about it.

Fede is organizing his search and he doesn’t find Tata but he doesn’t find Iker. Iker tells him he’s just waiting for Domi and Fede warns him he better settle his issues with Augi first. Iker thinks he needs to talk to Domi in order to do that but Fede warns him however he solves this, he better leave his cousin out of it! Because if he doesn’t, Augi won’t be the only one Iker will need to worry about.

Domi is cleaning Sam’s wounds and he says he feels better. Domi says she needs to ask Sam a question and it doesn’t have anything to do with this, but she needs to know. Jesus has forbidden Sam to talk to Domi or to be her friend, but Damian isn’t likewise forbidden. With Damian, she can talk and even go out with him. Why the difference? She feels like there’s something Sam doesn’t want to tell her and she needs to know what it is! Sam hesitates and Domi says, what does Damian want from me? The truth, Sam asks. Domi nods and Sam says he’s going to tell her the whole truth.

And the episode ends on that note of course.

Guerrero

Darcy, thanks for an amazing recap of a fun episode!!! I was on the edge of my seat and quite entertained!

Fun Stuff:
I don’t care for Emma, but kudos to the clothes switcheroo plan. That was clever (see Beanie section below).
D Abel & Conchita’s flirtations were fun. XEW = the first radio station in Mexico City darting back to 193O. It’s the forerunner of Televisa.
LOL @ big bowl of pozole for Augi.
How cute was Sam carrying Domi like Pinto carries him. I’m glad they are friends and screen partners again.
Damián made some poor choices in this episode, but in the end, he didn’t steal anything (whew!). He just got Sam in hot water.
I thought Conchita made her dresses while Mari & Luoe were mimis. Didn’t understand the hanky she gifted.
Carloca showed Augi and the whole fiesta a new dozen of red flags with her sappy declaration.
The Sam/Damián scenes were tense. I kept wondering how are they going to get away with this?!!
Villalba continues to make no sense. Verbally. To the story. Sartorially. I was happy he was less Siegfried and more Zorro for the fiesta.
This is at least the second time Augi has been invited to the political arena.

Beanie Stuff:
What kind of slow-release formula did Mommy Dearest put in the pozole? Nobody had a reaction the whole hour. LOL
Sam sits on the floor while waiting. Sam falls asleep while waiting.
Damián & the Peste crew make it to and inside the Motalvo house - knowing all the security secrets of what should be a fortress.
The Property Brothers have nothing on los hermanos Guerrero for they have built Adrian a quaint bungalow all while executing their Grand Plan. Why didn’t the lovebirds go here instead of the backseat of a random car needing repair?
Emma had been gone long enough to become a woman, visit the garage and Deflowerer Depot, yet Mommy Dearest doesn’t miss her or check in with her?!!

What a fantastic episode and cliffhanger. We can anticipate Sam’s truth and a lot of upset tripas tomorrow!!!

Camino

Thank you O.S! As always you notice stuff I miss and I so appreciate you pointing it out!

Conchita may have said she made her dresses at night, like I said I was having a hard time hearing with the background noise.

I didn't find it that weird that Sam sat on the floor. It was unexpected but that poor excuse for a shack Tata had him living in didn't appear to have any chairs or other furniture, it could be that he's very used to sitting on the floor and just went with habit. Him falling asleep however?? LOL I don't know, a dark quiet house with nothing to do or listen to or look at it might not be as weird as it sounds. I know my dad can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I always used to come out of a store where he was waiting in the car and find him asleep.

'Why didn't the lovebirds go here instead of the backseat of a random car needing repair?' Such a great question!!! I can't believe I didn't think of that!!! I guess it's because their romance doesn't interest me much. I don't dislike either one of them but I don't feel invested or interested in their interactions.

Thanks for explaining about XEW, I had no idea what or who that was.

Guerrero. Excellent recap, Darcy! And yep, O.S., how come no one is sick yet from Vicky's spiking the pozole! Damian has a narrow escape thanks to Sam. Hope he's learned his lesson!

Guerrero
For some reason I struggled a lot with this episode. All that whispering...
Poor Sam, though. 'Just friends' rarely works out for the one who is in love.
So that guy suggested Augusto should run for president? I was also curious about that whole festival. Is it the kind of festival the rich organize because they want to be 'nice to the poor?' It felt like that.
Conchita and Don A seemed to be talking about Pedro Infante I think (I had no idea he was an actor). These two seem to enjoy the golden age Mexican cinema. Good for them as they can actually understand it, unlike me.
Is that posole supposed to poison everyone? I hope no one dies, especially Don, who just found a lady for himself.
Adrian and Ema somehow bored me in this episode. This romance lacks something. I'm not sure what but it definitely can be fun to watch young couples.
Conchita and Don A have to be my favourite pairing because I don't like Damian and Mari Luz and Jesus just irritate me.

Guerrero
Most small towns in Mexico have a "Patron Saint" that the townspeople pray to and pay homage to on "their day." Normally the people parade through the town behind a statue of the saint; end up at the church to celebrate a mass; then enjoy a full- on carnival with games, food, music and dancing. This was the fiesta to their saint. They showed some of the preparations (cooking, decorating the church, etc) but didn't show all the aspects of it. The people usually dress in traditional Mexican or Regional clothes. Augusto told his family as they were leaving the house that he wants them participating because he doesn't want them to forget their roots. I wouldn't have pegged him as someone who cares about that! Lol

Guerrero Capitulo 27 – Part 1 of 3

Sam tell Domi that Damian wants her, he likes her a lot. Damian draws another pic of Domi and asks it ‘What are you doing with Samuel in your house? Have you decided on him?’

Victoriana’s plan has come to fruition and the gathered Pazole eaters are now sick in mass. Snobby and Vicky hear the commotion and Snobby immediately asks Security to come. Vicky goes straight to what did you put in the Pazole and snobby says the stand must be closed down. This becomes and huge scene with Vicky accusing Lupe both of poisoning people and of buying super cheap low quality ingredients because she’s poor. Snobby orders security to seize the soup so they can test it. All this time Lupe protests the her Pazole is perfectly good and she’s been bringing it for years. It’s an insult to her that they would even suggest something was wrong with it. Conchita is dismayed to learn Abel too is not feeling well and she insists on taking him to her house where she has all the remedies to cure him.

The police leave and Sam is ready to leave too but before he does, he asks Domi: ‘Do you love (querer) me?’ and she says yes, I do, a lot. As Friends!! She asks if he understands that they can only be friends and Sam looks sad but he nods.

Emma returns to her friends and does the clothing switch. The girls want all the details but Emma gets a text from mommy dearest – perfect timing – and has to run. She’ll tell all tomorrow!

More of the great Pazole face off and Villalba comes to Lupe’s defense but of course no one knows what he is saying. Augi comes up but he gets a phone call from Domi informing him of the robbery and he drags Vicky away so they can go home. Meanwhile, Lupe is lamenting the soiling of her family name and swearing to one and all that she didn’t poison anything. Mari orders her home to rest.

Jesus is in the dancing spirit and tearing up the dance floor with Carloca, but she notices something is going on with her parents so she goes off to check it out while Jesus glimpses Mariluz heading inside the church and follows her. Augi tells the fam about the robbery and insists they must go home immediately. Carloca wants to stay! Domi’s okay, she reasons and there’s nothing I can do there. Augi says okay and Emma wants to stay too but mommy dearest says no way, no how!

Jesus sneaks up on Mariluz in a room of the church and shuts the door to the room so they can be alone to talk, but it turns out it was locked. Mari is upset and yelling for help! Jesus is amused and just says I guess you’ll have to hear me out now! They start in with the same argument they’ve had many times, Mariluz wanting to know the truth and Jesus saying he can’t tell her. The only difference this time is he adds that he’s distancing himself from her for her own good. His secret is dangerous and he can’t let her get hurt. If anything happened to her, he’d never forgive himself, never. He cares about her too much. Unable to resist, Jesus gets close and then closer. He places a soft kiss on her brow but isn’t able to stop there and passionate kisses follow.

Carloca is looking for Jesus though and they are about to get caught. Mari breaks away before Carloca arrives and tells Jesus to never touch her again. Jesus apologizes and says he couldn’t help himself all he wanted to tell her was he distanced himself from her to protect her. Mari says, oh thank you! Thank you so much, in a voice dripping with sarcasm. Carlota stands listening outside the door before making her presence known so I’m pretty sure she heard both voices. Jesus recognizes Carlota’s voice and tells Mari not to tell her he’s here because it’s dangerous for her, Mari counters with dangerous for me? Or for you? Carlota plays with and insults Mari rather than opening the door and letting her out.

Domi tells Augi that she’s okay. Thankfully Samuel was there and he helped her otherwise she doesn’t know what she would have done! Domi reveals it was 3 men who broke in and Augi assumes it was Octavio’s sons, especially after he sees the knife is missing.

Guerrero Capitulo 27 – Part 2 of 3

Jesus hides under the desk and Carlota finally lets Mari out. Carlota asks where Jesus is and Mari tells her if she thinks she came in her to be locked away with Jesus she’s very very wrong. Mari leaves and Carloca looks around suspiciously.

Sam arrives at the party looking for Damian but Adrian tells him Damian is back at home. Adrian takes off with his friends just in time for a now drunk Selena to arrive on the scene in a much more seductive mood. She gives Sam a sip of her drink and drags him off to dance (NO!!! I don’t like this at all! Don’t get him drunk and seduce him. I wanted to watch these two fall in love for real not fall into some sort of man eater situation!!!)

Carloca finds one of Mari’s hair ties and I don’t know if she thinks Jesus is there or not but she leaves without discovering him and after lighting Mari’s band on fire. She goes outside all ‘Where are you Jesus’ and looking around like it’s an emergency. Her anxiety is almost palatable. Jesus finally shows and she just says I couldn’t find you and hugs him tight.

Emma follows Domi into her room, talking about the scare and making sure Domi is okay. Domi notices the drawing on her bed and quickly ushers Emma out assuring her she’s fine just tired; she’ll talk to her tomorrow. Domi goes to the bed and picks up Damian’s latest drawing of her. It’s captioned with: This is my goodbye to you. Domi rushes to the window to check and says ‘Damian?’

Drunk Sam is now at Selena’s house. Sigh… They start to dance and Sam tells Selena she’s very fun. Selena says she wants to be with him and Sam says he wants that too. They head to the bedroom and Selena pushes him on the bed and starts a strip tease which Sam claps for. They start getting friendly on the bed with deepening kisses. I’m too disappointed to try to describe this further.

We see Damian enter into a sleeping Domi’s room and sit down on her bed with his hands nearly but not touching her arm and face. Domi wakes and says she was waiting for him. She knew he would come. She doesn’t want him to leave ever, she wants to be with him forever!! And just as they are about to kiss, Domi wakes again. Yep, it was a dream and I’m glad because stealing into her room to leave a drawing is one thing; the idea of Damian coming into her room to watch her sleep without her consent is creepy and wrong. Domi goes to the window and Damian is outside on top of the truck playing his guitar. When he notices her watching he gets up and goes to the other side of the truck to put his back to her, like an 8-year-old, but it was funny.

Next day, Jesus is taking his turn to talk to his invisible mom, telling her everything we already know about how Mari is the love of his life but he has to keep his distance for the sacred oath.

Fede thinks Augi might be wrong because Octavio’s sons would have no way of knowing where the knife was. This makes Augi think, but he needs to know for sure, so he goes to the cemetery to learn who knows what. He sees a woman leaving flowers at the grave and thinks it has to be Elisa! An entire funeral progression goes by right in front of Augi, and in very un-Augi like fashion he is actually respectful and waits for them to pass before hurrying toward the grave. The woman – presumably Elisa – is gone by the time he arrives.

Mari and Lupe fight about Mari knowing her dad for the 400th time and Lupe sticks to her guns and tells Mari nothing at all. Abel is still in the Garcia home (scandalous!!) and he’s feeling much better thanks to Conchita’s remedies. They join Mari and Lupe for a lovely breakfast, because a nice big breakfast is exactly what one wants after suffering food poisoning the night before! But at least one person isn’t afraid of Lupe’s cooking because Abel doesn’t have a moments’ hesitation in digging in to breakfast.

Guerrero Capitulo 27 – Part 3 of 3

Our dear Vicky has a mountain-sized fit when she hears that there will be no investigation into Lupe’s cooking. She throws her position as main benefactor of the festival in the face of whomever she’s talking to and demands an investigation! This witch even has the gal to tell the guy that she saw Lupe pouring a bottle of who knows what into the soup!!! The only good in enduring this Victoriana scene is that as per usual Mica is overhearing the whole conversation and she also finds the bottle in Vicky’s purse.

Sam wakes up in Selena’s bed and her nighty is cute but I don’t care, I’m still mad at her. Sam wants to know if she’s mad too and it turns out they didn’t make love after all because Sam didn’t want to, or couldn’t? Selena says she’s not mad and it’s clear he’s the type of guy who only wants to give himself to someone he truly loves. She tells him he’s one of a kind, and the sweet smile is back in the place of the man eating one she wore last night. Sam looks shy and uncertain and that’s cute too.

Damian is telling mom he is going to leave but he’s still going to find her and bring her to his brothers, they need him more than him. Jesus noticed the bags though and he comes in to put a stop to this idea of leaving. Jesus thinks it’s because of Sam and Domi and Damian says, yes that too. Sam didn’t come home last night and he must have stayed with Domi.

Augi goes to search for the painting and finds it missing, of course. Luckily, he can blame that on last night’s robbery too. Fede is with him, and we learn that Elisa has valuable and potentially dangerous information about Don Augusto. Augi does decide somehow the Sanchez boys must have been in his house before if they knew where to find everything, and if they knew about the painting, Elisa must be with them!! Augi tells Fede to look for some guy, I couldn’t hear the first name but the last name is Lopez. He was supposed to get rid of Elisa all those years ago and Augi needs to know exactly what happened!

Domi has the bad luck to turn a corner and find a witch in her room! It’s mommy dearest and she’s here to chat. She wants to know why Domi is hanging out with those lowly mechanics. Everyone thinks she’s marrying Iker; people will talk! Domi shrugs and says, let them talk! I’m not going to marry Iker. Domi also points out that the Guerreros are among the people Augi trusts so what’s the big deal? Vicky spews a bunch of crap about Augi liking people who only beg him for money like the Garcias. Domi tells mommy she doesn’t share her stupid prejudices and it’s like mom believes all poor people are bad people. Vicky actually says that they are!! Domi says no, money isn’t everything. She is leaving with daddy to go to the photoshoot (I think) with the mechanics!! Vicky leaves after Domi lies saying she’ll think about what mommy said. Domi takes out Damian’s drawing again, ‘why do you want to leave me?’ she asks it.

Jesus says Damian can’t leave and Damian admits he was the one who broke into Augusto’s house last night! Jesus says WHAT!! Damian says he had to do it. You know what it’s like on the streets, he tells his brother. I was approached by a dude I owed a favor to, and I had to! There was no other choice. Jesus says there’s always another choice! Don’t you get it? We’re a family, we have to be united. Don’t you care about that? Damian says he does but that’s why he’s leaving. He doesn’t want to fight and he doesn’t want to cause them problems. He’s leaving so he won’t mess up their life. Damian starts to leave and Jesus pulls him back and holds him tight. We’re all human, he says, We all make mistakes. You can’t leave!! Stay here with us! Stay please! He pulls his brother into a big bear hug and our episode ends with a shot of tears running down Damian’s face.

Thank you all for your comments on yesterday's episode and thank you anon for explaining more about the festival. Sorry I don't have more time to respond and comment today, but it's a super busy day and a busy night as well. I will be back to enjoy more time on the patio with you all tomorrow! :)

GUERRERO

Thank you, Darcy! I appreciate you taking time out of your super busy schedule to provide us with your super duper recaps. Oops. Wrong novela.

YOU always capture the story and make sense out of all this fine infotainment. I just hope my notes and research (NERD ALERT!) continue to complement your fine work.

Thanks, Patio, for all your notes and feedback as well.

Notes:

•Darn it! They left us hanging with an excellent cliffhanger (Sam & Domi) and then shut it down with the first sentence of the episode. Sam did not tell the whole truth. Still fun though.

•While I don’t advocate violence or hyper machismo, I was thrilled when Augi YANKED Mommy Dearest away from her fear-mongering and said they had to go home.

•Defending her name and pozole, Lupe declared she was innocent as Pepe El Toro. Someone loves the golden age of Mexican cinema (Great call, waterlily!).

•Someone also likes to let Villalba babble on incessantly. Is this actor’s uncle a producer or something? He brings nothing to our show.

•Jesús and Carloca were boogieing. I wish that scene was extended (and less Villalba)!

•I laughed out loud @ Jesús hiding from Carloca.

•I too shouted, “No!!!” @ Selena taking advantage of Sam! If he can’t have Domi, this relationship better be legit! This was hard to watch.

•They’ve turned Elisa’s painting into a shrine where the brothers speak to their mother and express their deepest thoughts. I wonder if Sam, Adrián, and Valero will follow suit. Speaking of Elisa, we got a glimpse!

•Not only was MD’s poison of the slow-releasing variety, its effects were curable in less than 48 hours. MD & Fede should visit their apothecary for a refund.

•MD’s histrionics were over the top, but our payoff came with Mica finding the bottle. Guess they won’t be getting a refund.

•The next payoff is that no Samuelines were harmed or corrupted during Selena’s seduction attempt. Whew.

•It didn’t dawn on me until later that Damián was acting out (LOL @ 8-year-old) because he believed Domi had picked Sam over him.

•Did we know that Augi had ordered Elisa’s elimination? Not surprised. I thought I heard El Zurdo Lopez. Lefty Lopez? Nice ring.

•The big bro bear hug was a sweet ending to a busy episode.

"AMOR DIVIDIDO":

Darcy, OS, RGV Chick & Co.,: Have y'all been watching this Telenovela with Gabriel Soto, Eva Cedeno & Irina Baeva ?

Thank you O.S. I love your notes and research! You clarify things for me and I am so grateful!

I keep thinking those boys are really stupid to keep that shrine painting out in the open where anyone could see it! Augi could come by, send his rent a bad spy Fede to search the place again, Carloca could let herself in again and recognize the painting from her attic, etc etc etc. That painting would be a dead giveaway if Augi found out they have it!!! They should move the shrine out of sight!

Hi, gang! I'm still playing catch up with what has been going on in the show since I stopped watching every day, but I should be ready to post a recap of today's episode.

From what I've seen, I'm still not crazy about our main couple, but I like Domi and Damian, so they will be my main focus for now.

More later!

PS: O.S, I was very happy to read your recaps, it's always great when we get a new recapper. You are a natural, you shouldn't stress yourself over being capable or not to write, just scribble some notes down when you're watching and then,if you're in the mood, write a short summary, any type of ccontribution is more than enough.
For now I chose Thursdays, but if someone else has an interest in this day, I can definitely take another one.

Amor dividido

Steve, I have not watched this.

I'm a bit confused. At first I thought part of the episode was cut when we didn't see Sam at the beginning. So what happened to 'I'll tell you the truth?' He just asked her if she loves him?
I wanted to slap Selina. Later she can say Sam is special and so on but she was ready to take advantage of him. Didn't she say they both were drunk? I somehow got the impression this was why nothing happened.
Victoriana needs a hobby other than hunting Lupe.
This show has something a bit...odd. That whole posole situation somehow didn't turn out the way I thought it would. Though I couldn't tell you what I expected. It's fun to watch Victoriana fail to ruin things. I normally don't expect the ladies of the house to be that impulsively stupid. She should take lessons from someone like Carlota from En nombre del amor. That woman was scary.

Steve, I watched this one and quite liked it. But some characters were so hard to understand that I was a bit clueless at the beginning when it came to the stories of those working for Minerva. I found Abril annoying, though. It would be niceif she had had to face some consequences for not telling the truth.

Guerrero! Excellent recap as usual, Darcy! Vicky had better watch out! If she keeps giving the authorities details on why she thinks the pozole was poisoned, they'll realize that she was the one who poisoned it. Narrow escape for Damian, thanks to Sam's loyalty. Hope D. has learned his lesson!

Guerrero

Waterlily, it sounds like your broadcast was cut. Mine did start with Sam and Domi as I described in the recap. Hmm, perhaps Uni was running behind and just joined the show a minute or so late? How weird to end on a cliffhanger and then cut the resolution to the cliffhanger!

Sam did ask if Domi loved him but he didn’t use the word amar, he said querer so I think he just wanted to know if she really cared about him the way he believed since others had suggested that she didn’t and she only hung out with him out of pity.

Yes, Selena was drunk too

Amor Dividido

Steve Boudreaux, I have not been watching this novela; however, my DVR always starts at its closing credits - just enough for me to ask myself, “Isn’t that Nicolás/Memo?” I always wondered if it was any good. How far along is it? Do you recommend?

Amor

O.S. I look at the programming schedules in order to list what's airing when I post the page and Armor Dividido isn't on the schedule next week so I am pretty sure it's at the end.
