Guerrero Capítulo 77 - Things That Happened Part 1 of 2

Good afternoon, Patio. Since we are recap-less for a spell, I thought I’d post some observations. This is off-the-cuff reporting. Feel free to add.

Augi reads Fede the Riot Act so he seeks refuge at Selena’s. He realizes that the mechanics must have set him up. He wants to know if Selena is helping them.

Emma turns to the bottle. Again.

Don Abel is getting his Barry White on - sweet talking Conchita on the phone. Conchita is happy Patricio is seeing Mariluz because he won’t hurt her. Don Abel doesn’t look convinced.

Selena blabs to Fede they Don Abel was behind the landowners’ keeping their lands. Don Abel tells Jesús Mari has a new suitor. Mari writes to Lisardo that she’s excited to start her new venture. She says out loud she’ll be too busy to think about Jesús.

Doménica & Augi interrupt Emma’s pity party, and she is finally able to voice all of her concerns/demons/ etc. Augi actually listens and calls Dra. Vega for help. They schedule a consult. Adrián visits a hungover Emma and helps her with her insulin.

Augi confronts Mommy Dearest about Emma’s plight. She and her glass of wine are having none of it. She accuses Augi of knocking her up to control her and keep her away from
her inheritance. She also won’t suffer his critiques because he has failed as a husband!

MD goes to Emma’s room and overhears her say the only thing she wants is Mommy’s love. MD does not barge in (where she would have found Adrián).

Elisa is painting. She tells Opera Man about bumping into Guadaloops. She wonders of Lupe might know anything about her sons. Opera Man advises she keep her identity hidden.

Sam & Doménica go for a walk and have an ice cream. Sam pleads Damián’s case, but Domís isn’t having it. She kisses him goodbye, and of course Damián witnesses the smooch. Sam keeps on eating his ice cream cone.

Don Abel & Conchita enter a dance contest.

Fede aggressively interrogates Selena about Don Abel. He believes if he can get to him, he’ll solve the Guerrero mystery and get back in with his uncle. Selena tells him to pick on someone his own age. He takes her keys and cellphone and leaves.

Bri visits Doménica at home and tries to plead her case. It falls on deaf ears.

Ugh. Of course Damián accuses Sam of malicious intent with Doménica. Sweet Sam defends himself and eventually throws his ice cream at Damián. Unfortunately, he misses.

Carloca wants to shop for baby furniture, but Jesús tells her has to go to the garage and not to wait up.

Guadalupe is urging Mari to stay away from Jesús for the thousandth time. He calls. She answers and tells him to get over it (as she’s trying to get over him).

Damián is at the art competition. He asks a nearby participant to borrow a pen. It’s Elisa.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 77 - Things That Happened Part 2 of 2

Doménica gives Augi & MD a pep talk. Emma is leaving for her consult. MD snarks and then says she will join her at rehab. They hug.

Elisa loans her son her pen. He asks her for help with a pseudonym. She says she has always admired the Mexican painted Frida. She calls him Diego. She gives him her pen, and he calls her Frida. They part.

Don Abel & Conchita win the dance off.

Patricio introduces the project Flor de Cafe along with Mariluz and Villalba. Villalba gives a lesson in processing coffee seeds. Patricio is dreamy as ever. ¡Viva Patriluz!

An OBGYN shows Jesús & Mariluz Iker’s baby and gives them a good report.

Fede is kidnapped right off the street in broad daylight!

Dra. Vega interviews Emma. Emma sadly admits her mother does not love her.

MD is on the phone with a possible divorce attorney. She tells Doménica she cannot go to rehab and asks her to go instead.

Dra. Vega asks the tough questions. Does Amma want to conquer her addiction? She does. We meet Emma’s new doctor/specialist Lorena.

Sergio & Belén are turning 18 soon so they’ll be leaving the orphanage. Adrián promises to support them all the way.

Conchita tells Don Abel it’s time for him to ask her daughter and granddaughter for her hand. He agrees.

Juanita, a local, tells Patriluz how proud she is of their project. She doesn’t trust politicians, and Mari assures her Patricio is different.

Elisa tells Opera Man about running into the motorcycling Guerrero brother. He’s worried that maybe Augi sent him. She doubts it. The boy only knows “Frida” and nothing more. She thinks she may be able glean some information about her sons (from Damián!).

Carloca’s doctor recommends they be extremely careful. She asks about intimacy, and the doctor says NO! Jesús almost does a back flip; he’s so relieved. She is not pleased.

Don Abel and Villalba are working on the paperwork for the project. The latter asks Mari to deliver some documents. Patricio is happy to join her.

Emma attends her first AA meeting. The participants share, and the doctor encourages.

Jesús shares the sonogram of Iker’s baby with his brothers. They ask about the name, and Jesús jokes it will be Valero. Sam votes for Valera. LOL

Of course Mariluz delivers the papers (for Don Abel) just as Jesús is waxing poetic about the baby. He pleads his case for the bazillionth time, but this time, Patricio walks in and says, “Sup?”

Thank you O.S. for filling in for me! I am so happy to see this!!! And you cracked me up as usual! I was able to watch today actually since my flight got in earlier than my coworkers. I was in the hotel watching on the hotel room TV which is bigger than my Tv, lol

I laughed when Augi was talking about having the perfect doc for Em and he called Carloca’s shrink! Dude your oldest daughter is still loony tunes after years under that woman’s care, maybe try a different doc for the other doc??

I can’t be mad at Selena for blabbing, her life, her physical safety and her brother are in danger and no one except Domi even has the slightest clue. And Domi hasn’t said anything as far as we know.

I totally missed that it was his ice cream Sam threw at Damian!!! I saw him throw something but I didn’t realize it was that, that’s hilarious and so is Valera! Lol

Funniest of several funny lines in your recap: ‘ He pleads his case for the bazillionth time, but this time, Patricio walks in and says, “Sup?’ LMAO!! Yep!!! Although I am a little worried Patty might be a red herring. There have been one too many comments about what a nice guy he is. I am starting to wonder if he’s more crooked than Augi and better at hiding it. I hope not though cuz I like Patriluz!

Jesus being so happy he doesn’t have to have sex with Loca while she was glaring a hole in his head was awesome!!!
 

‘, maybe try a different doc for the other doc??’ I meant a different doc for the other daughter! Lol

Hey, Patio! Thanks for the kind words, Darcy & Steve Boudreaux.

Darcy, I’m glad you reached your destination early and found a Jumbotron in your room. You’re so lucky! Did you say Austin? I hope you have a great time (clap clap clap clap) deep in the heart of Texas.

I totally forgot that Dra. Vega is almost more inept than Augi’s security detail. Good point. What does Domi know about Selena/Fede? I didn’t catch that. I know Selena’s hands are tied - protecting her brother (Abraham) and all. One foreshadowing line was Augi telling Fede, “God may forgive you, but I won’t” early in the episode. Should have been no surprise he was abducted.

I was hoping Sam’s ice cream cone would have knocked some sense into Damián. He’s got the sulking and being-a-jerk down pat. What’s worse: it’s totally misdirected at our Sweet Sam.

I will enjoy Mr. Patty-Cake as long as we can. It’s just refreshing to get away from the repetitious dialogue & action and unfortunate tropes.

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S., though you call it something else. I too am still SO on the Patricio team--unless, of course, there's something negative we don't know about him yet. I think he's a much better choice than Jesus. It's creepy and selfish of Jesus to try to hold on to Mari through the Lisardo e-mails. MD actually looked a little guilty when she overheard Emma lamenting her lack of maternal love. Emma is very lucky to have a sister like Domenica. I hope d. Abel is safe from the evil Fede. Good PSA for rehab, and at least the 1st patient (and maybe the 2nd?) has even worse problems than Emma. It's so sweet that d. Abel and Conchita win the dance contest! Especially, dressed as they are, they are an adorable dancing couple. Is it wrong to hope that the kidnappers do Fede in?

Thanks, SpanProf. I called it “Things That Happened” because I was just going to take notes throughout the episode and post them, but sure enough, it morphed into a full-on recap. The training wheels are off, but this student driver will still try to experiment with different formats and styles, etc.

I’m so glad our show keeps it light. One of the nighttime novelas has reached the pinnacle of gloom and doom. I’m glad it’s almost over. In the meantime we get Sammy Sweetheart & a dynamic dancing duo (and more!).

Having said that, although Fede deserves quite the anvil, we still need to find out his ties to Amelia & Adrán. Is Emma not really a Ruíz Montalvo? Will Baby Iker make it to/through delivery? Will Lisardo make it back safely from France? Are Elisa & Opera Man romantically involved or the Will & Grace of the Puebla art world? Will Villalba ever make sense?

Tune in today for more clues to these burning questions!!!

Guerrero Capítulo 78 - Farm to Table Edition - Part 1 of 3

Good afternoon, Patio. Today the role of Darcy Buchanan will again be attempted by O.S.

Patricio justifies his (good) intentions with Mariluz to Jesús. Jesús eats his heart out. Valero reminds Jesús that (1) Mariluz is muy linda, (2) Jesús is married, (3) Mariluz is free.

Mica, Belén, Adrian, and Doménica greet Emma after rehab. Group hugs ensue.

Mommy Dearest meets with Enrique, Esq. to discuss her options. She’s DONE, and she wants her monies back. She wants to leave Augi with nothing.

Bri opens the hotel door for Augi expecting a tryst and almost gets a fist!!! He is livid and accuses her of leaking the photos. He manhandles her and demands she leave town. Is elder abuse a serious crime in Mexico?

MD’s legal beagle wants the deed where Augi gained control of all the finances. Without it they are looking at a long battle.

Patriluz are saying goodnight. Their song plays. He puts his cards on the table, but she says she wants to focus on the project. Ugh! He says he wants to be 1OO% honest with her. She has to look this up on her phone since no guy has ever done or said that before. What a foreign concept.

Sacre bleu! Lisardo reaches out (you know, from the Côte d’Azur) and messages Mari on RE3NCUENTROS. She unwittingly admits she is not falling for someone new. Their song plays. She has the bright idea to turn on their cameras and finally see each other. He compliments her look and then totally flakes when it’s his turn using the broken camera excuse. She tells him off and will not talk to him again until he fixes that camera!

Valero enters and teases Jesús for using the lamest excuse in the book. He tells him that Damián is about to start painting. Valero then tells Jesús he should use his Zorro mask with Mariluz. After all, his own father-in-law didn’t recognize him in it. Hilarious! Le Killjoy tells him when he wants advice, he’ll ask for it.

Elisa/Frida is furiously painting.

Damián comes home and can’t find a good place for his canvas. Jesús surprises him with an easel. He speaks lovingly of the woman he met, Frida. Jesús points out the tortured history between Frida & Diego. Damián shits down any salacious suggestions and Jesùs says their mom would be proud of his new direction.

Opera Man asks that retrieve the results of the contest for her safety. She says ok and he hugs her and kisses the back of her head. She thanks him for all his love and support. THEY ARE TOTALLY TEASING US.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 78 - Farm to Table Edition - Part 2 of 3

Damián is furiously painting what looks like Doménica in a hot tub on Mars. I’m no art critic, but it looks nice.

Renata “breaks up” with Emma via phone by sending the photos of Augi + Bri. Emma is impactada by the news.

Augi tells Patty-Cake via phone that he’ll produce the fraudster first thing in the morning. Saúl comes in and says they have Fede and is waiting for direction. Augi says to handle him like anybody who betrayed him. Saúl says, “But he’s your nephew.” LOL. Augi is unfazed. Saúl places an envelope on his desk and takes leave. It’s the divorce papers. Augi has a full-on hissy fit - yelling, squatting(!), carrying on. It’s glorious.

Emma and Mica exchange notes. Mica is shocked by the photos of Augi & Bri and says now the divorce makes sense. Emma is surprised by this news and vows to be the bestest daughter ever. Emma tells Mommy Dearest she’s on Team MD. She hugs her, and it’s not clear whether MD is about to vomit, cry, or start speaking in tongues. It’s the most bizarre reaction to date. She says NOTHING in response; Emma takes leave.

Carloca (looking splendid in a bathrobe with her hair in a towel) is getting the French Spa treatment from Jesús. She’s about to get a foot massage when Sam calls. I forgot how much I liked Jesús nickname for Sam. Samu says he’s being reading his book, and it doesn’t say anything about where babies come from. Jesùs laughs. Those books are to help him learn to read not teach him life science. Sam wants to go to school to learn everything he can. Jesús is very proud and will find him the right school the next day.

Opera Man goes to an administrator to see if Elisa “Frida” qualified for the paint contest. She did. Damián approaches and wants the results for Diego. He qualified too!!! Now all they have to do is bring their paintings by 7:OO the next day. Diego is so happy he kissed the administrator and high-fives a fellow student.

Emma brazenly walks by Mica with three bottles of hooch and goes to her bedroom. Mica enlists Domi to figure out what’s going on. It should be noted that Doménica is wearing a fierce asymmetric top with a shoulder cut out and showing lots of skin.

Emma is pouring the booze down her sink. I don’t care about this PSA or symbolism. Where I come from that’s alcohol abuse, and it should never be tolerated.

Sam and Bri are at an outdoor cafe. Bri is lamenting the whore spotlight she’s under. She makes the case for a No Judgment world and then says Sam is the only thing she has left. She invites him on her trip! Uh oh. He says he can’t leave his brethren, and he’s about to start school. Bri tells he will learn a lot more by traveling than in any classroom. He’s intrigued. She also tells him if he leaves he’ll be able to forget about Dom and all her drama…BURN THE WITCH!!!

Emma declares she doesn’t want to drink anymore. She wants to be the bestest daughter and make videos for her friends. Doménica is encouraging, but reminds her that the focus should be on HERSELF! Ok. The blunt force trauma for this PSA is pretty severe. I recommend Emma start double-knitting the missing parts of Doménica’s shirt before the poor girl catches pneumonia. Instead she wants to organize a cleaning crew for the boarding school. Ok.

Patricio meets with Villalba. Sounds like he wants to hold a meeting to rehabilitate a businessman’s image. Uh oh. Is it going to be Augi? I got distracted by Villalba’s word salad and the sound effects played when he whipped out a ring he plans to give Guadalupe.
 

Guerrero Capítulo 78 - Farm to Table Edition - Part 3 of 3

Carloca is creeping around Mariluz’s place and sees Patty-Cake pick her up and whisk her away. This makes her happy. She tells Baby Iker that Mari is no longer a threat.

Augi is bitching and moaning to Jesús about the recycled parts. Jesús defends himself accordingly and nudges Fede further under the autobús. Augi concedes and laments losing a fortune and possibly his candidacy. He puts Jesús in charge of “taking care” of Fede. It’s a test of loyalty. This is Jesús chance to become Augi’s right hand man! Is he willing to get rid of Fede once and for all? Jesús grabs a gun off Augi’s desk and declares he’s ready. Cue dramatic close-ups.

MD shows up at Galuadaloopy’s (knocking loudly) with a man servant and 2 suitcases. Lupe asks for an explanation. MD says, “These…are…suitcases (LOL)…”. and she’s come to take control of her house and Los García will have to leave. After a few insults, Lupe cites the rental agreement. MD whips it out, plays a little peek-a-boo, and then TEARS IT UP in her face!

Patrilluz are reviewing project plans and he can’t help but confess how smitten he is. Their song plays. She says thanks (ouch). She approves the plans, and he whips out a pic-a-nic basket to celebrate. He pours wine and they toast. He’s brought foodstuffs and flowers. The man is perfect. DON’T KILL PATRILUZ!!!

Conchita interrupts a shouting match between MD & Lupe and wants to know what’s going on. MD & Conchita make funny noises at each others and MD accuses them of being deaf and not hearing her order to vacate with all their junk. When that doesn’t work, MD starts breaking things. Conchita draws the line at her prized virgencita. MD is about to physically attack Conchita and Lupe jumps between them. Lupe says they are protected by the law. MD says she has owners’ rights. Lupe calls the police(!) and reports that a crazy güera is attacking her and her mother. It’s Lupe’s best dramatic performance to date. The actresses must have had the most fun filming this ridiculousness.

Patricio is defending the político and tells Mariluz there are a few good ones out there. Patricio asks if she believes in destiny. He does, and he wants to know why Jesús had a cow about their being together.

Jesús enters the warehouse(?) where Fede is tied up. He rips the tape off Fede’s mouth, and the former tough guy starts whimpering like a b(ig baby). He begs Jesús and Saúl to let him live. Jesús tells him he should know better than anyone that the decision is not Jesús’s. He points the gun right at Fede.

Mari gives Patricio a very truncated version of the past we’ve relived 1,789 times. She doesn’t believe in Destiny. He thinks everything happens for a reason, and maybe she’s destined for something better…like a nice hardworking handsome delegate. She says she’s not ready and he thanks her for sharing what happened. He tells her not all men are the same. He lists all her good qualities and says he could fall in love. They kiss and live happily ever after. FIN

I WISH!

He tells her he will wait as long as he has to for her to come around. Their song swells.

Fede is sweating bullets and probably about to need a change of underwear when Augi bursts in and says this whole mission was to teach Fede a lesson and prove Jesús’ loyalty. They aren’t going to kill the nephew. Fede snivels. Jesús has graduated to Right Hand Man and Fede is not to ever show his face around Augi’s house, OR ELSE! Augi and Saúl leave. Jesús unties Fede. Fede says Jesús is just as equal/evil as Augi. Jesús gives him the gun (as if daring him to use it). Fede points the gun at Jesús (who is walking out of the warehouse). Fede sniffs, and grimaces, squeezes, and bears down…

How odd that Augi would just assume Jesus would be willing to murder Fede as if murder was an everyday job task. It again makes me wonder how so many people can be unaware of Augi’s dark side when there are so many times that he does nothing to hide it!!! How did he fly under the radar for so many years?

I will try to catch up tomorrow!

Btw, I don’t think Domi knows anything about Fede and Selena, I just meant that Domi had at least seen Selena’s bruises so she knows something is up even if she doesn’t know any of the specifics.

Yes, I am in Austin and I’m having fun but it was a long day. I left my room at 7am this morning and I just got back at 7:55 pm! I am ready to sleep well! Lol Thank you again for providing these recaps that I couldn’t! Fantastic job!!

Guerrero. Great recap, O.S.! Thank you so much for stepping up. A common sense remark about Mariluz from Valero. Mariluz should be free to find someone else. Valero is colorful but often smart. "Elder abuse." Hilarious! Again, Jesus is very selfish with that "Lisardo" scam. Even a hint that Damian and Elisa could be attracted to each other is disgusting. Oh oh! So it was Augi who kidnapped Fede. Emma is much nicer to Vicki than MD deserves. I hope Sam doesn't go off with Briana, who is such a predator. Besides, doesn't he have a lucrative lucha libre career going? MD is even more entitled than we thought. She can't overturn a legally valid lease and destroying pictures and stature is vandalism--a crime. Glad Guadalupe called the police. I'll bet Jesus took the bullets out of that gun.

Guerrero Capítulo 79 - This Happened

Chickenshit Fede pulled the trigger, but Jesús had removed the bullets (good call, SpanProf). Jesús says he owes him one.

Carloca talks herself off the (loony) ledge and takes pills (in slow motion - telling) to soothe the beast.

Emma does a live social media over a montage. Sergio & Belén leave the orphanage. Doménica watches Sam work on a car from her window.

The police come to settle Lupe vs. Vic. Villalba shows up to mediate. Vic calls him everything but “Villalba,” e.g., Villa Alborada & Villa Francia. ROFL The police leave. Viallalba speaks and speaks and speaks. Doménica and Emma come to take Vic away. It doesn’t work.

Elisa wants the classic portrait of her sons (as babies). She wants to show the world what a devil Augi is. She paints maniacally.

Doménica & Emma leave to talk to Augi about Vic’s squatting. Villalba leaves on Project business. Conchita goes on the attack with her blue oar(!), and the ladies chase each other around the house like a classic Benny Hill segment. Sheer Hilarity.

Confirmed: Damian’s painting “Doménica in a Hot Tub on Mars” was inspired by their previous romp. He paints furiously.

Vic insults Lupe relentlessly and then breaks down (like her marriage). Lupe & Vic start drinking together!

Fede resurfaces at Selena’s. He orders her to find Don Abel. She does and lures him out of the garage. She tries to seduce Sam. He resists.

Emma confronts Bri about her home wrecking.

Fede confronts Don Abel in the garage. Don Abel turns the tables on him. Why is Fede so interested in the land?

Patriluz closes the episode with a kiss. Jesús naturally witnesses the smooch from afar.

Thank you O.S. for getting the conversation started. My hope of being able to catch up yesterday didn’t happen. Another day of not getting back to the hotel until 7:30 pm. I will definitely catch up when I get home tomorrow though. I am thinking Vicky and Loopy drinking together might be Must see TV! I remember how fun those two have been in some of their more dramatic scenes playing off each other and I am picturing hilarity as drinking partners! I hope I am right!

I agree with SpanProf that the idea of Damian and Elisa liking each other even as a joke is creepy!
 

Guerrero. Excellent succinct recap, O.S. It's probably dangerous for the baby that Carlota is taking pills. I have mixed feelings about Villalba's thinking that he's the one who can resolve Guadalupe's and Vicki's conflict--and the police let him! Of course Fede reacts to his humiliation by bullying Selena. And I agree that d. Abel knows how to handle Fede. Anvil, please fall on Fede. He so deserves it!
