Talisman bloggers, phone home!

Hey, I see your show is in ultimos capitulos. Would any of you be interested in helping with Refugio, which is killing us with the 2-hour sessions? We could split it up into hour long pieces, and then when (hopefully) some other show gets slotted in you'll be in place for it... ??? Let me know what you want to do...

El Talismán #88 Fri 6/1/12 IT’S A GAME OF DOUBLE JEOPARDY IN FRESNO

Recap by Anita

The Highlights
Mariana’s Dead Again
Pedro is Under Suspicion Again

The Lowlights
Everything Else That Follows

We begin this somber and sorrowful episode with verification of Carlos’ prediction that there would be no Funeral, at least not yet.  But folks—they’re running out of time in Avocadoland and there are vastly more important things to be resolved, so Mariana may have to settle for an off-site funeral.  Stay tuned, Please!

The Fateful Night Before—1) Camila and Antonio are in her bedroom (formerly known as Doris’ bedroom).  He’s threatening, she’s retorting.  She accuses him of being a killer.  He swears he had nothing to do with Mariana’s death—that was all his father’s doing.  Backing down, she promises to do whatever the Ant tells her to do, but she’s doing it for her baby; 2) TB+30 (aka El Piggorio) wakes up from a restless sleep to find Doris peering over him  …..  This dialog is interrupted for a message from the severe weather center in KY and I can’t hear a thing Doris and El Pig are saying (and I don’t live remotely near KY, go figure).  But that was yesterday, today is another day.

Some scenes have been combined for continuity’s sake.

The Fateful Morning After—Tracy, Alberta and Panchito are in the kitchen on a bright sunny morning, dwelling on Camila’s state of health and the upcoming operation.  Tracy is dying (oops, wrong choice of words), anxious to find out what’s going on with her friend Camila.  Antonio enters to fill the room with Darkness.  He informs the trio that the tumor rumor was untrue and instead the diagnosis is gastritis (and he came up with this on his own, I suspect).  He exits, taking his Darkness with him.  Tracy is very suspicious.  Alberta and Panchito think this is all very raro indeed.

Antonio visits Lucrecia in the cabaña to give her the news that Mariana is dead and gone.  She’s jumping for joy.  She’s so ready to go over to console Pedro since rival #1-Camila, is now Antonio’s and rival #2-Mariana, is dead.  The Ant tells her to relajate.  Before she can do that, he has to think of a way to bring her back to life.  She can’t just appear as a miraculous resurrection.

Pedro is down at the precinct with El Capitan, discussing the events surrounding Mariana’s death.  He tells Pedro that everyone close to Mariana is under suspicion until the investigation is complete.  Pedro supposes he’s under suspicion, too, and he wants to know why—is it because now he’s free to marry Camila?  El Capitan says, of course not, it’s because he now >inherits her great fortune.  Pedro is incredulous.

El Capitan also reminds him that next week begins the trial in Lucrecia’s en flammante immolation.  Pedro tells El Cap he thinks Lulu is alive.  Now it is the good Capn’s turn to be incredulous.  Well, of course Pedro has no proof, it’s just a gut feeling he has.
But he's not there to talk about Lucrecia, but of Mariana.

He tells El Cappo that it’s not the money.  The fortune should really go to Manuel, who took care of her.  Does the Cap really think he spent all those years looking for Mariana, just to kill her?  The only one interested in Mariana’s death is Don Gregorio, since at any point that Mariana recovered her memory, she would be able to implicate him in her disappearance.  Well, of course Pedro has no proof, it’s just a gut feeling (pardon the ditto).  Whatever, the Capitan knows his job and right now he’s still investigating.  He needs Pedro to give his statement.  Pedro didn’t realize she wasn’t there until morning and by there, he means El Talismán since she was staying with them for a few days.  They ought to talk to Manuel, maybe she just went home first.  El Cappo asks directly if Mariana had any problems with any of the ranch hands.  Pedro gives him a resounding no.

Back at Maria’s apartment, Elvira is jumping for joy to know there isn’t going to be any operation.  She’s sure Camila will now be able to be happy living with her husband.  She’ll even be able to have babies.  Army and Angel are incredulous.  Army states rhetorically, who is she fooling, Camila will never be happy with that imbecile (and it’s all momsie dearest’s fault).  Elvira is only momentarily callada.

In the Alcatrash despacho, Don G is trying to find out from Valentin if the news has gotten out about Mariana.  It’s obvious now that Valentin is worried about his fate at the hands of El Piggo.  He reminds El Piggo that Camila saw it all, but it seems as though she’ll keep quiet.  Don G is certain she’ll keep quiet—if she knows what’s good for that baby of hers.  Just a bit later, Don G is congratulating himself and Valentin on their job well done.  Valentin wants to know what he means by “our” job.  Clearly Valentin does not consider himself part of the team.  Don G says that of course he is, didn’t he get the blanket to wrap up the body, help him carry her out, put her in the pick-up, dump the body—that’s called accessory after the fact—GUILTY.  He orders Val to call Pancho to come--and get a move on.

Tracy comes into Camila’s bedroom to see how she is.  She’s relieved to know she’s alright.  Camila admits that she’s more scared of Don G than she is of the Ant or Doris.  She claims he’s a full blown killer.  Tracy is muy impactada.

(MIA—Where oh where are Rita and Rennie for some needed comic relief.)

Over at El Tal, everyone is gathered around in the kitchen, still discussing the absence of Mariana.  It’s so raro for her to have gone out so early without telling anyone.  Meanwhile, Santiago is being pricked by his conscience.  He knows she went to El Alkietrash last night to help Camila, but why are they all so sure she’s missing and that something has happened to her.  He tip-toes upstairs to check her room.  It’s empty.

Manuel is getting ready to see patients at the hospital.  He asks the receptionist about Maria and whether she’s with Camila.  The receptionist tells him that the operation was called off.  Something happened, though, because the police were calling for Camila because they want to talk about Mariana.   He’s still worried about Mariana since she still isn’t answering her cell phone.  He calls El Tal.  She’s not there and neither is Pedro.  No es nada bueno, he says to himself—not good.   Maria, Angel and Armando are together in another part of the hospital.  They want to denounce the doc….!!  (Is this because of the mis-diagnosis or that an de-licensed doc had actually been allowed to reserve an operating theatre to do major surgery on a uterine tumor—where’s the paperwork, hem, hem.  My guess is that in this tn, it was the former and not the latter).  Manuel joins them long enough to tell Maria that he’s on his way to the precinct.  He’s sure something has happened to Mariana.

Tracy and Camila apparently have not been interrupted.  Tracy wants to know everything (yawn), Camila won’t talk (yawn).

Manuel arrives at the police station to learn that Mariana is dead—shot to death and dumped by the dumpster.  Manuel goes ballistic.  No, no, it can’t be.  He turns on Pedro—you were taking care of her, why did you let this happen.  He should never have let her go to El Talisman to stay.  If he hadn’t she’d be alive.  Manuel is so worked up he’s not listening to anyone.

Pedro again tries to tell El Capitan that it’s Don Gregorio’s fault.  El Capitan tells Pedro he can’t keep on blaming Don Gregorio with no proof.  Remember that Don Gregorio wants to see his butt in jail for the death of his daughter Lucrecia.  Pedro repeats, I keep telling you, she’s alive (but have no proof).

They want Manuel to identify the body and make a statement.  He can’t bring himself to do it.  He calls Maria, absolutely desecho (undone) with the news that Mariana is dead.  She arrives at the precinct and there is a sad but emotional embrace.  Maria doesn’t know what to say, but he should know she’s there for him.  She tells him he needs to make the effort to get it together, for Mariana’s sake.

Together, Manuel and Maria absorb the news.  The detective reminds him that he needs to continue making his statement.  Manuel fills him in on Mariana and avers that Gregorio Negrete and Antonio were after her to harm her, but he can't confirm if it's true.  As for Pedro, he’s a good guy.  The detective adds, but even if he will now >inherit her great fortune?  Manuel has la cara de impactado.

Elvira has left the apartment and comes storming into El Alca, apparently to see Camila, but really to create a commotion.  Alberta is close on her heels.  Don G hears the commotion and appears.  He tries to throw her out, but apparently not far enough.  She comes flying back like the paddle ball she is.  Doris hears her and appears.  She keeps shrieking that she just wants to see her daughter.  Antonio appears.  Elvira is shocked to find Doris at El Alca—Que hace aquí?  Camila hears the commotion and appears.  She’s fine.  The Buckledup blocks them from hugging, but then relents and lets Elvira talk to Camila—in private (could be dangerous, man).  That leaves The Buckledoff and Doris alone in the hallway.  He wants to know WTH she’s still doing there.  Doris snaps back that Don G wants her there.  Ha-ha he tells her, it won’t be long before Don G won’t be needing her anymore.  She wants to know what he means by that.  He says, she’ll know soon enough.  Then Doris wants to know WTH happened last night.  The TB+30 wasn’t very forthcoming and she’s sure her ex knows.  He sneers, ask the old man yourself.

Valentin is babysitting Lucrecia.  She knows Mariana is dead, but not the details.  She wants to know if there’s any news of Pedro.  She can’t wait to go comfort Pedro.  Valentin says the only thing she’d achieve by doing that would be to give Pedro the fright of his life.

Elvira, alone with Camila, is overjoyed to know she isn’t sick and no longer needs the operation.  Camila tells her it was all part of a plan of Antonio’s, but can’t tell her what or why.  Elvira insists on answers, but Camila pleads with her not to ask anything more.  Elvira only wants to help.  Camila doesn’t want her help (and neither would I).  Just look at how helpful she’s been up to now.  She asks Elvira to leave and walks her to the door.  Then Camila rushes back in saying out loud that she needs to protect her baby, just in time for Tracy to hear her.  (She apparently was cleaning Camila’s attached bathroom because she’s carrying an environmentally-friendly pump bottle.)

Elvira runs into Alberta on her way out and begs her to help her find out what’s wrong with Camila.  Antonio shows up, bringing his cloud of Darkness with him.  Jut-jawed and teeth-clenched, he hisses the only thing wrong with Camila is that she doesn’t love him, but she will.  So, leave and don’t come back.  Elvira is determined to get to the bottom of this.  Yeah, yeah answers the Ant, but by that time it’ll be too late.  (Intrepid Reporter will have to look into that, is there something more afoot we haven’t perceived.)

Pedro has returned to El Tal and Padre learns about Mariana’s death.  He can’t believe it.  Pedro is sure Don G is behind it , but there’s nothing to implicate him.  He’s aware that suspicion will fall on himself because he >inherits her great fortune (third time this has been mentioned).  Unfortunately it’s a logical conclusion.  Still, he doesn’t understand why the police always suspect him, but never the Negretes.  Sadly, Pedro will have to tell everyone, so he asks that the troops gather in the living room.

Santiago is rewinding and hits the replay button on his last conversation with Mariana—how she is on her way over to El Alca to talk to Camila.  He feels compelled to tell Pedro everything.  Dramatically descending the stairs (but not pushed), Santiago tells everyone he’s very upset because of what he knows and that he should have gone with her to El Alca.  Pedro comforts him.  Como she wanted to talk to Camila?  So, Padre says that what Pedro’s been saying must be true—it was the Negretes that did this.  They must go to the police for Santiago to tell all he knows.  Pedro tells the group that he doesn’t know any of the details regarding Mariana’s death.  It looks like it was a robbery, then her body was dumped.

Antonio is seen drinking in a public bar (whaa, he can’t do that at home more cheaply??). Oh, it’s because he’s meeting Doc Jaime right there out in the open where everyone later will recall in the witness box that there was a conspiracy of some sort going on—or not.  Jaime assures him that because Don G is as strong as a pig, the dosage has to be increased, but it’s having the prescribed effect.  Don G will soon be paralyzed.  If he could, Antonio would jump for joy.

Tracy and Camila continue their conversation.  Tracy is so happy about the pregnancy and promises to keep quiet.  Camila says she doesn’t want her baby to be born at El TrAsh, but there nothing she can do about it for now.  They scheme about how to find the vial of poison which is hanging over her mother’s head.  Tracy is sorry that they hardly ever let her out of the kitchen, but she’ll find an excuse to get into Antonio’s bedroom.  Somebody thinks of looking in the cabañas, even though they are abandoned, but it might be worth the effort.  Camila can’t do it because she’s being so closely watched.

Panchito has arrived in the despacho to take orders from Don G.  He arrives breathless—it shows how dedicated he is.  Don G wants to know *everything* that is going on at El Tal.  Panchito wants him to narrow his search, be a little more specific.  Ok, Don G wants to know anything to do with Mariana.  He reports back later that Mariana has disappeared (who is feeding him information over there, anyway).  Panchito wants to know whassup; Don G is not sharing.  It’s better he not know.  He stands up to go file something, but is immobilized by the pain in his chest.  Panchito runs out screaming for help.

He finds Doris and they go back to the despacho.  Don G assures them it was just a scare, he’s alright, but please call his Doctorcito.  It couldn’t be that killing Mariana has affected him, he muses.  The two of them get him back to his bedroom and he admonishes that Antonio must *not* know about this.  It is a *secret.*  Said doctorcito is still hanging out with Antonio at the bar.  He tells the Ant the pills are working—Don G just had a crisis.  He’s going to up the dosage – and – he wants to start getting paid for his services.  The Giant Beltbuckle of Darkness says he’s as good as his word (ya think?).

Quick as a flash, the Unshaven One is back at El Alcatrash and inside Camila’s bedroom.  >>FF.  He grabs Camila’s face and snarls that ese escuincle, wait for it, va a ser MIO and you’re going to end up queriendome (ugghh).

AVANCES –Wait a minute, does Camila actually get a sneak preview of Antonio and Lucrazzierthanever talking together in the cabaña?  Let’s hope so and get this silly thing over with so we can all take spend some quality time together at the Post-Traumatic Recappers and Commenters Clinic.  Your Intrepid Reporter hopes they have limpid pools, horseback riding, wienie roasts, bonfires, sharpshooting, plenty of boda bags full of Sparkling water and avocado salads and raisin bread for lunch.  Recap by Anita.

El Talismán #87 Thu 5/31/12 Guns & Hosebags

El ‘Traz:

Bang!

The Pig shoots Mariana at point-blank range, right in the chest. Unless she’s wearing a Kevlar teddy, looks like she’s a goner. But the homicidal writers do let her hang around long enough to deliver a lovely farewell speech: “I forgive you. Because of you, I finally remember who I am…and I realize that I was always, always surrounded by love.” She’s going to heaven, and he’s going to need some help cleaning up the mess. He calls Val.

Apartamento Bermúdez:

In a particularly jarring transition, we jump to María and Manuel, drinking wine out of goldfish bowls and swapping funny stories of their college years. Suddenly Manuel feels a sharp pain in his chest and gets paranoid about Mariana. She doesn’t answer her phone. Should they go over to El Tal?

Avocado Groves:

Pedro’s stomping around the edges of the property looking for Lucrazy droppings, and Tony is in the shadows with his hand over Camila’s mouth. He threatens her with spontaneous abortion if she doesn’t play nice. She agrees to go along, and they step out into the moonlight. Tony threatens Pedro with his little pistol. Pedro hangs tough with his big ol’ flashlight gun. Camila squeaks that everything’s fine, and the newlyweds head back toward home – but not before Pedro tells Tony to pass a message along to his sister: he’s not falling for her little game. Oh, and he tells Camila to have a nice operation. I think I may shoot him myself.

El Tal:

Geno, Juancho, Sarita and Gabe are all sitting around the bolted-down living room worrying themselves into a tizzy when they hear a scary noise. They about have a collective infarto, but it’s Santiago, who says he couldn’t sleep. They all try to pretend that this is what adults do at slumber parties: they stand around discussing whether or not someone is really dead. Santiago for once isn’t hysterical, but it’s still a dud party.

El ‘Traz:

The Pig tells Val to figure out what to do with the body while he goes and changes his clothes. Apparently the silk-dressing-gown-with-matching-handgun is fine for indoors, but disposing of a corpse requires a different ensemble. They wrap Mariana up in a blanket and carry her out to the porch. If you look closely, you can see Karyme Lozano’s hand protruding from the end of her shroud as she texts profuse thanks to her agent for getting her out of this. I may shoot her, too. She’s probably going to the beach, but the rest of us have to hang around for at least two more weeks.

Apartamento Bermúdez:

María refills the fishbowls, and she and Manuel continue their leisurely discussion of the merits of going over to El Tal to check on Mariana. It’s just as well they decide not to go, since at this point they must be too drunk to drive. Manuel says what he’s really worried about is Elvira – that woman is capable of anything. It’s hard to take this seriously as an anvil when it doesn’t involve firearms. Manuel decides now would be a good time to ask María to marry him. Those two nuts.

Apartamento Nájera:

Elvira is friqueando about Camila’s operation and what a bad Mom she is. Armando reminds her that this is about Camila, not about her. Elvira makes a promise to God: if Camila comes out of this all right, she’ll leave María and Manuel alone and let them be happy together. Armando gives her the eye-roll of all eye-rolls and says how about promising to tell the truth and release Camila from the blackmail-marriage? That might be a little more meaningful.

El Tal:

Pedro and Margarito are standing around talking about the whole blackmail-marriage thing. Pedro can’t put his finger on it, but he still suspects that something isn’t quite right about it. He says he’ll pump Mariana for more info in the morning – but meanwhile, what he’s really worried about is his missing pistol. Yeah, says Margarito, if anyone does anything bad with it, you’ll get blamed, won’t you? Whoops! Did I drop that anvil on your foot?

El ‘Traz:

Tony drags weepy Camila across the patio just in time to run into Val and the Pig trying to offload Mariana into the back of the truck. Everyone’s bathed in this weird, blue light that makes it look like the swimming pool’s gone radioactive. Lots of shouting and crying and menacing and slapping ensues – in other words, a typical night at the Negretes’, but with a slightly higher felony count. Camila wails. The Pig threatens Camila. Tony threatens Camila’s baby. Camila wails. Tony threatens to call the cops. The Pig threatens to tell Pedro Camila’s pregnant. Camila wails. Tony sends Val to lock Camila up in her room. Val and the Pig go off in the truck, just missing Doris as she returns from high tea at the whorehouse. The Pig tells her they have guy-stuff to do and to stay out of it.

Around Town:

-        El Capitán calls Pedro to tell him Mariana’s body has been found. Would he come down to the station and answer a few questions?
-        Camila calls her Mom and tells her the doc made a mistake; there’s no tumor and no operation. Elvira is happy for about two seconds and then suggests they sue.  Ya gotta love her consistency.
-        Pedro asks Juancho to sniff around El ‘Traz and see if Panchito knows anything about Lucrazy being alive.
-        Tony tells Camila that in two weeks, she will announce she is expecting his child. And she’d better look happy about it.

Avances:

The portentous voice-over reminds us that Camila is the only witness to Mariana’s murder. Gee, thanks.

El Talismán #86 Wed 5/30/12 By The Pricking of My Thumbs, Something Wicked This Way Comes

If God should withhold His mercy from anyone on Earth, Monsieur, it surely will be you! M. Hercule Poirot

We start today where we left off yesterday in the deep, dark woods at night, between El Talisman and Alcatrash as two men are riding horses. Pedro is going along on his horse, when Pigorio spots him. Pigorio has a gun, points it at Pedro, aims and fires, and Pedro proceeds to drop and roll, (thanks Rosemary la Otra). Pigorio aims the gun again to finish the job, when, wait for it, Margarito is heard yelling in the background, and with a flashlight, proceeds to the sound of the shot. Pigorio seeing his opportunity has flown the coop, leaves the area. (Note to Pigorio: You can't hit the broad side of a barn, jus' sayin'). Margarito comes with his flashlight and finds Pedro knocked out and carries him back to El Tal.

Meanwhile, back at El Talisman, noone has heard the shots. Manuel and Maria have come to pay a visit to Mariana to make sure she is ok. She is with Santiago, and they have a nice conversation about how she is ok, and she is glad that Maria and Manuel are doing so well. This little visit ends with Manuel giving Mariana a hug and a kiss. Then he and Maria leave. Santiago says you love your Papa very much? Mariana says yes.

Cameela, in her martial bed at Alcatrash, listens to "Dr." Raimundo tell her to get some rest. He will give her something to sleep. The old Beltbuckle wants her to get better, sooner rather than later, so she can have, wait for it, Mis Hijos. They leave the room and Tracy has come in. Cameela is very nervous about this operation. Tracy tells her to be calm, and can she bring her anything? Cameela says she has a pill to sleep. Tracy tells her that everything will be ok, just get some rest, and goes to leave the room. Tracy wants to know if she wants the lights on or off. Cameela says leave them on. Tracy leaves.

Panchito is meeting with his Piggy Papa and El Porko wants to know the chisme on Mariana? Anything, anything at all???? Panchito tells El Porko, no, nada. El Porko wishes Mariana were dead. Panchito is so not happy to hear that.

Mariana decides to come sneak around Alcatrash. She is wanting to see Cameela rather badly. (Note to Mariana, love how you have the AVACADOES noone else seems to have, over there at El Tal, jus' sayin'). She is hiding around the corner, when "Dr" Raimundo and The Prince of Darkness stop to have a little chat. The Prince of Darkness says this plan for Cameela to have this fake cancer was a good idea, now they can get rid of that baby, and Cameela can commence to having his hijos. Mariana hears every word. (Note to Mariana, please stay hidden, don't move. Just listen).

Over at El Tal, we see Pedro, in his bed all alone, sleeping. He is dreaming of Cameela and wakes up. Seems he wasn't hit by no El Porko bullet. And now he can't go back to sleep. Pedro has drifted off and wakes up and Padre is in his room. Padre is keeping watch over him, to make sure he is ok. Bless you Padre. Padre asks how he is feeling. Pedro says he fell off his horse and has some bumps and bruises, but otherwise is ok. He says he really can't sleep because he is very concerned about Cameela. (Ed Note: I don't know if he told Padre about the failed attempt to kill him).

Valentin and Lucrazy are in the cabana and she is begging him to let her go to El Talisman. Valentin tries to talk her out of it. She says she wants to drive Mariana crazy forevs. Now with Cameela out of the way, and Mariana on her way to being crazy as a loon, Pedro es Mio will be all Mio. Well, Valentin can't turn his back for a moment, cause, she disappears and Valentin goes to look for her.

The Prince of Darkness escorts "Doc" Raimundo to the door, they don't see Mariana, and she starts to creep around the corner. Now she really wants to find Cameela's room, so she can tell her the truth about what she heard. (Note to Mariana, please be careful girl. You are in enemy territory. Ya shoulda brought a weapon, jus' sayin'). "Doc" Raimundo wants to know where is the rest of my dinero? He says when the "operation" is done, he will get the rest of his blood money. The Prince of Darkness says you will never have a baby with es Indio.

Doris is in El Porko's bed. She wants to know if he wants a pill. He is nervous about Doris being in his bed, what if Tracy walks in? (Note to El Porko, look dude she ain't comin' in there, she's rather run for the hills than come in there jus' sayin'). Uh, oh, he hears a noise. Doris doesn't hear anything. He tells Doris open the drawer of the bedside table. She thinks he wants a pill to calm himself, but, oh, no, he wants his gun. He opens the bedroom door and Mariana has ducked into an alcove, so she won't be discovered. El Porko thinks he is hearing things and goes back into the room. (Note to Mariana: Good work so far, now run and find that room).

Mariana finally finds Cameela's room and goes in and Cameela is sleeping. She tries to wake Cameela up. She finally succeeds in waking Cameela. Cameela is shocked to see, the avacadoes Mariana has, not really, but you know. Anyhoo, Mariana says she has come to see Cameela cause Pedro wanted a report, not really again, but hey, it works. Anyhoo, Pedro is very concerned about Cameela and she wanted to come see her and make sure she is ok, but listen, I have something to tell you. Are you ready, Cameela, ya sure, not really, but she tells Cameela that she wants her to be happy with Pedro now that she has the proverbial bun in the oven, in other words, Pedro's bebe in tummy. You are with child and this ain't no immaculate conception, get the drift? Well, Cameela thinks that Mariana has gone round the bend. She is so not buying this. Well, Mariana, bless her heart, tells Cameela everything "Doc" Raimundo and the Prince of Darkness said, while she was sneaking around to find Cameela. Mariana says in the morning they are going to abort your bebe. Stop them from hurting you. (Note to the Prince of Darkness: See above quote). She wants Cameela to leave Alcatrash tout de suite. They are very anxious, you could cut the tension with a knife in that room. Cameela spills the frijoles to Mariana about why she really married the Prince of Darkness. Cameela is finally beleiving Mariana about having the little Pedro in the oven, and Mariana is pressing her to leave.

Meanwhile back at El Tal, Gabe is outside in the dark forest, pondering all of Sarita's witchings about getting married, doncha know. Juancho comes to talk to him. Gabe says he ain't gettin married in the morning, well ya know what I mean. Anyhoo, he is bored, misses Sartia and is going to the cabana on El Tal to find her. Geno comes by and runs into Juancho with some things for the orphanage. When, wait for it, they see a mysterious figure in hoody, jeans, those four inch heels (Thanks Rosemary la Otra) and sunglasses at night. (Note to Lucrazy: Why didn't ya wear the white gown, drown yourself in white powder and really look ghostly, jus' sayin'.). They are freaked out. They want to go tell Pedro, as in runtelldat. Ms Sunglasses at Night laughs to herself and gives herself a pat on the back, for them having seen her.

Now what have we here, hummm. It's en flagrante time, it seems. Gabe has come to see Sarita, and she's dressed as a, wait for it, belly dancer. That's right, veil and all. She is doing the come hither dance and Gabe is soooo into that. They end up, umm, ya know, En Flagrante. Now in their En Flagrante afterglow, Sarita, is wait for it, witching about Gabe marrying her again. He is still not with getting married, and he says she isn't preggers so what is the rush? He isn't ready. She pouts.

Valentin has not been able to find Ms. Sunglasses at Night, so he goes and rats her out to the Prince of Darkness. He wants a gun, as he goes to "hunt" for her, he thought bubbles she should be dead for realz. Meanwhile, Ms Sunglasses at Night has made it to El Tal, just as she is about to go closer to the door, she is grabbed by the Prince Of Darkness. She isn't happy. The Prince of Darkness has escorted Ms Sunglasses at Night, back to the cabana, and reminds her once again she is dead, dead I tell you. He orders Valentin to stay with her. She is pithed. So the Prince of Darkness leaves and she is alone with Valentin. She tries to bribe him to let her go back to El Tal. In a year, I'll have money, and can pay you then, (Note to Ms Sunglasses At Night: Is the same thing as buy me a hamburger today, and I'll pay you tomorrow? ). Valentin is like no way El Patron, Prince of Darkness with kill me. Well, now what have we here, ummmm Satan (Sorry was thinking of the Church Lady from SNL). Anyhoo, she is trying, of all things, her en flagrante skills on him, rubbing up against him, putting moves on him, as he is staring at her bugeyed!!! She is using every en flagrante skill she has on him, but oh, no it isn't working. He won't disobey the Prince of Darkness. He tells her that if she were to be caught at El Tal, they would throw her Sunglasses at Night in jail, for faking her death, and besides Pedro wouldn't and couldn't visit her in jail. She is very verklempt. Ms Sunglasses at night has settled down for the night, and Valentin is reading a paper, and suddenly thinks about all the crimes he has committed, dropping Mariana off in LA in the slums, the car bombing of Tia Patty and Claudio, and stealing Pedro's gun. He thought bubbles oh, Dios Mio, I'm going straight to hell. Not really, but you get the gist.

Now we get to the crux of this epi. (Ed Note: Was very verklempt about this part of the epi, but bear with me). The Prince of Darkness has come back to Alcatrash, flips on the light in the living room and sees Mariana and Cameela together. Well The Prince of Darkness is so NOT Happy to find Mariana there with Cameela. He wants to know what she is doing at Alcatrash. Mariana says she came to protect Cameela from him! Cameela tells him he is a killer (See M. Poirot's quote above). She spills the beans about everything Mariana heard him say to the "Doc". He swears he doesn't know what they are talking about (Note to the Prince of Darkness: Look Focker (Thanks Sara, over there at Abismo for that), the jig is up, already, you lost). He accuses Mariana of being crazy. She tells him because of you , I lost our baby, and now you want to kill Cameela's baby. Well about this time the Focker, draws a gun, and both women are scared to death. The Focker says that Pedro is an Indio and that it is Pedro's baby and he wants Cameela to be the mama of MIS HIJOS. He points the gun at the two very scared women and Mariana, bless her heart, gets right in front of Cameela to protect her from the Prince of Darkness. He grabs Mariana around the neck and the Focker points the gun at Cameela's womb. She calls him a baby killer and a coward. Well Cameela struts forward, having got some Avacadoes of her own, and pushes the Prince of Darkness. He loses his aim and is pointing the gun at both of them. They are not standing together now and he has lost all reason and control. Cameela and Mariana are really screaming at him.

This wakes the El Porko up out of a "dead" sleep. He is like QTH is going on. The first thing he does is get his gun from the bedside table. He says there are always problems here, ya think, and most of them of YOUR OWN DOING! He puts his robe on and goes to investigate. (By the way, Doris has been gone for awhile, see bottom of recap for that).

Meanwhile the Prince of Darkness says he doesn't care if he kills her. Mariana says he'll end up in jail. He has Mariana by the neck and Cameela sees her chance and runs out the door and into the night. The Focker lets go of Mariana to chase Cameela and that leaves poor Mariana alone. Now in comes Focker II. He has his gun, and can't beleive he is seeing Mariana in HIS CASA right in front of him. The first thing Mariana says is you are a Maldito for killing my bebe. (Note to Mariana: Girlfriend ya shoulda pretended you know nothink jus' sayn'). You killed my bebe. So now Focker II thinks that poor Mariana has got her memory back. He points the gun at her and says now you will truly be dead. Mariana is still saying you killed my bebe. Focker II points the gun at Mariana and aims and says, now you will be quiet forever. Meanwhile, Cameela is running for her life, toward El Tal in the woods. Is is very dark and she is running like the hounds of hell are on her tail. Unfortunely, the Focker I catches up with her, and still with gun in hand, puts a hand over her mouth so noone can hear her. (See M. Hercule Poirot's quote above for both Fockers).

Incidentals:

Sarita, Gabe (after the afterglow)., Geno, Juancho, Pedro are talking about seeing Ms. Sunglasses at Night, the ghost. Bet she's dead, Bet she ain't. This goes on for awhile. Back and forth until, Sarita, bless her heart, says, well look, what if she ISN'T REALLY DEAD; Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner. Pedro says he will investigate the grounds with Margarito, everyone else stays inside, capiche??? Pedro goes to his office to find his gun, which lo and behold, is missing. Well he can't find it anywhere, so he and Margarito arm themselves with, wait for it, RIDING CROPS, really dudes, you don't have axes, or pitchforks, just sayin' Any ways, they go to investigate the grounds, and this is what Focker I hears and covers Cameela's mouth.

El Virus is yammering to Army about, I'm so worried about Cameela, doncha know. Army isn't down with that. She wonders why noone beleives her, (Listen Lady I almost gave you the nom de plume of Focker III just saying). She yammers on and on, until Army says, okey dokey, I believe ya, just shut up already, not really, but you get the drift. The phone rings and it is Tia Maria spending the night at Manuels she just wanted to let them know. Army says fine I'll pass the message on. Well El Virus, ain't liking that, oh my sista is such a ho, oh, please shut your yammering pie hole already. Anyway, Army also tells her that Tia Maria will be at the hospital to look in on Cameela tomorrow. My sister the ho, only cares about that guy and not my Cameela, oh please.

And there was a little tete a tete with Angel and Flor at the Only Ice Cream Parlor in Fresno. They are having a little ice cream(and by the way it looked yummy). They are starting to really like each other, as Angel really gazes into her eyes and she blushes.

Doris has a meeting with Brigette the same old same old. If there was anything new please add.

ADVANCES;

El Porko, also known as Focker II, aims and fires the gun at Mariana! Will the bullet find the mark? Tune into tomorrow to find out!

El Talismán #85 Tue 5/29/12 Roe v Tumor

The very first scene leaves us puzzled as to why someone in hiding (Lu) would choose to wear too tight jeans and 4” platforms. Here I am having a rare Tuesday off today, with the house to myself and am enjoying sweats, flip flops and no bra. Lu is flipping out about Camila being preggers.  Antonio tells her not to worry, of course the only hijos Camila will be having are mis hijos.

We speed along the Fresno Freeway to General Hospital where Antonio has brought Camila to find out why she isn't “feeling well”.  In walks Dr. Huckleberry Hound (or is it Droopy Dog he looks like?). He says they'll run some tests.

Over at El Tal Mariana is talking to Pedro about her feelings for him.  She knows she should love him as a brother, but sees him as a man. I guess that depends on your definition of  “man”. He tells her to give it time and as her thoughts become clearer, so will her feelings.  “Miraremos a ver que pasa” We'll see what happens. He says she will be fine.  He'll always be at her side, just like he promised her father.

Santiago comes downstairs and is still hungry!  Pedro exits, and Mariana tells Santiago that before they eat she wants to run to El Alcatraz to talk to Camila. Santiago gets a horrified look and tells her it is very peligroso over there.  She says she has to find out if Camila still loves Pedro.  Santiago says if you insist, I care so much for Pedro and Camila, that I'll go with you and help you.  Mariana calls him an angel.

Back at the hospital Camila and Antonio are in the … wait for it... waiting room! They wait and wait while Bowling Green's Marching Band offers us background tunes.

Dr. Huckleberry Hound come back and regretfully has bad news.  He tells Camila she has a cancerous tumor.  Antonio stifles a giggle (are we allowed to say “Prick” on this blog?).  Dr. HH says to not worry, there are treatments.  Camila is shaken.  Dr. HH  suggests Antonio leave and let him speak with Camila alone.  PLEASE tell her the truth!!!!!!  Commercial.

Back from commercial, and no honesty going on here.  If Camila doesn't trust him, she is free to get a second opinion.  “No, no, no, no es necessario.  No dudo en decirmelo.”  Ditz. “Okay! Let's operate!”
In the waiting room Antonio is talking with Dr. Doh-Mo about Pig's poisoning. Dr. Doh-Mo says he's lowered the dosage making the Pig slow, dumb and clumsy and he will eventually lose mobility.  Antonio relishes the thought.

At Dr. Manuel's he and Maria are having breakfast together (ooh la la, they diiiiid it).  They cozy up at the table and talk fondly of anoche until the doorbell rings.  It's Elvira and without her headband a lock of hair is actually falling out of her ponytail.  She tells Manuel “me urge hablar con Maria”.  The urgent thing she had to see her sis about was to call her a “cualquiera” and say she's not going to live in the house of a tramp.  Maria says “fine, move out already”.  Elvira storms out saying “you'll pay me for this”.  She goes home and gripes to Armando about Maria being happy, and Armando tells her about Camila's tumor.

Luuny has snuck out in her Cher disguise and is hiding behind a pillar watching Pedro and Margarito work their drills.  Pedro catches a glimpse and tells Margarito it seems like he just saw Lu.  Margarito says that's impossible.  Ella esta muerta.  POR FIN Pedro speculates that maybe Lu wasn't in the shed when it burned. Margarito says the police found human remains.  So, that answers that.  Antonio did dig up somebody and plant their bones. Sick.

Mariana and Encyclopedia Brown are hiding in the bushes and see Camila coming home from the doctor's.  They overhear her telling Tracy she has a cancerous tumor.  The run back and tell Padre and Pedro.

Tracy's reaction to the tumor news is that maybe Camila is pg and should go see another doctor.  No, Camila says she has confianza en este medico.  The same doctor who just pocketed a cheque from Antonio. As we break to commercial, Camila is wistful about what if she had been pregnant with el hijo de Pedro.

Pig is at the police station.  Has anyone else noticed he's actually been looking leaner as time goes on with this show?  We may have to change his name to Turkey Bacon. So, TB is hollering at El Capitan that he wants Pedro locked up for killing his hija.  Capitan says to wait for the trial and jury to decide.  TB has one of his spells and walks out with Poult Poncho's help.  Turkey Bacon decides to take justice into his own hands.

Padre goes to visit Camila and TB gets mad at her for having visitors.  He doesn't even want a priest around saying they have long tongues.  Is that true?  If so, what a waste.  Our long-unused-tongued Padre tries to convince Camila to be upfront with Pedro.  Just then Elvira walks in, and now the loose hair is on the other side of her head.  I guess she should go back to wearing the headbands.  She gives Padre a dirty look and spouts off about the bad things Dios has done to her daughter.  Padre throws it right back with “It's not Dios who has done bad things to your daughter...it's you.”  YES!!!!!!!

Sarita is STILL on Gabe's case about getting married.  He tells her he loves her, what's the need to get married?  Just look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.  Pedro comes up and requests his horse be saddled. He tells Margarito he loves Camila so much he'd rather her be with Antonio than dead, but he has to be with her now.

Nighttime:  It's dark, it's scary.  Pedro is riding his horse. Turkey Bacon comes up out of nowhere and, without hesitation, shoots Pedro.  Pedro drops and rolls.  Personally I think the “clothes on fire” drill is unnecessary for a gunshot wound.  Let's hope it keeps Pedro alive.

INCIDENTALS:
-       Doris is storming around and griping to Turkey Bacon that Antonio gave Camila HER bedroom.
-       Angel admits he likes Flor (but why?).
-       We get the answer to “Who Wears Short Shorts?”.  It's Flor, to school.
-       When Lu came running back into the hideaway Antonio was waiting for her.  She wanted him to hurry with everything so she could be with Pedro.  He said “everything in its own time”.  She crazily replied “tic toc tic toc”.
-       Lu tells Valentin she wants to go to El Tal

AVANCES:  Antonio points a gun at Camila saying he's going to kill her.

El Talismán #84 Mon 5/28/12 The Wedding Night From Hell or Look Who's Hungry

Recap by: Anita

None of the names have been changed to protect the guilty.

El Rewound - Antonio is menacing Camila with a forcible consummation of their marriage...why won't she submit to him. He's her husband now. He's Hungry for Camila. They continue the argument they started on Friday. She reminds him that he obligated her. Doesn't she understand he luuuurves her and adores her? He'll never hurt her. Camila retorts, he forced her into this marriage and now wants to bed her-he's ruined her life-never, she swears. Ant hisses through his teeth-all because of ese Indio-she can't stop thinking of him, right? He follows up with , Wait For It,-You are going to be MIA.

Santiago is Hungry. The sad folks at El Tal are in the kitchen trying to make the best of a bad situation. Food will comfort them, Pedro is sad and not Hungry. The only ray of hope is that they are sure they'll find Santiago's mom (and she can cook up a storm, according to the half-pint). >>FF

El New -Over at El Alkietrash, Alberta and Florencia are walking down the hallway. Flo hears screaming coming from the honeymoon suite. It's Camila trying to fend off Antonio. She's sure something is wrong. Alberta reassures her that it's probably only a lover's spat, reminding her that Camila didn't marry the Man in the Beltbuckle for love. Flo thinks this is different, but Alberta persuades her to leave the two lovebirds alone. (The only reason I think Alberta didn't interfere is that her job is on the line. If Flo gets dispatched to an internado, her dusting, gossiping and sweeping days at El-Al will be over, to say nothing of her paycheck.)

The Wedding Night From Hell continues for Camila. She is resisting with all her might-she's never going to let him have his way. He's on top of her now and Antonio is sure that eventually she'll fall in love with him. He tries to eat her neck. Then her lips.

Miracle of Miracles, Antonio's struggles with Camila come to a merciful end. After trying to get her to kiss him (spread her legs, etc.), he gives up, as Camila turns into a dry, limp rag. What a gentleman he turns out to be. He departs in digust-thwarted, yet maybe (IMHO) a bit proud that he is not the abuser everyone thinks he is (well at least he himself thinks that-don't ask the ladies he's been with lately). Frustration is written all over his face.

Next there is a glimpse of Doris tossing and turning in El Piggo's bed while he sleeps. Dam*, she's  Hungry  for El Alcatraz, but the thought of El Piggo being her meal ticket makes her gag. How she wishes she could have a man for love. She gets up to get a breath of stale El Trashy air, that is still smelling of booze, cigars and leftovers.

Antonio is Hungry for sex, any kind, with any body and voila, who is prowling the hallway, but his reviled ex-wife. They sort of bump into each other, not in a nice way. They exchange words first. Doris serves-is your new wife tired of you already? Antonio volleys with a big Callate for her cheeky insolence. She lobs another one-so it's true, then, she threw you out-and here the two of us are so good in bed. These words are followed by grabs, gropes, and a rush to the living room to disrobe and fall on the floor behind a counterfeit Tiffany lamp, in a passionate (?) embrace. (Viewerville is left to imagine that some humping ensues that will satisfy both of their hungers.)

Camila has escaped the worst night of her life relatively unscathed, but scared for any future encounters. She just has to find a way to avoid her mother being sent to prison, but she doesn't want another night like this one. How much more can she stand. She pleads with the Virgencita to help her. Then she recalls her night (or nights) with Pedro and how it feels to make love with the man you love.

Lucrecia is still holed up in the cabana. She is just plain Hungry. Valentin shows up with a take-out from the Only Take-Out in Fresno (What?? There were no leftovers from the reception he could have brought her?). She greets him as if nothing had happened earlier that day, but does take a moment to aplogize. She's also Hungry for company. Valentin complies and listens, probably not too attentively while Lulu brags about her encounter with Mariana and the 1-2 punches she gave her. Valentin cautions her to be careful. Lulu hopes this nightmare will all be over soon so she can go back to the land of the living. She hates being dead.

Flo and Alberta are still together back in Flo's room. Flo is mulling over the fact that her dad is not the person she thought he was. Alberta cheers her up-think of something nice-and that would be Angel. She melts.

Army and Angel are back home, out of theri wedding garb and sitting around casually in jeans and sports shirts. These boys are always Hungry , but they settle for something non-alcoholic to drink. Angel is on the phone with Maria. Apparently she's not coming home for dinner. She has a date with Manuel. Angel tells her to have fun. Then the boys start to talk about Tia's new happiness. However, the conversation comes back to what a witch Elvira is. Army can't stand her - look what she did to Camila.

Scene with Santiago in the kitchen again. He's still Hungry , working on pie. Pedro is still sad, day-dreaming the same recuerdos of love that Camila was having. >>FF.

Don Greggorio, meanwhile, is having a terrible bad night. He's Hungry for freedom from this bad dream of being locked up in jail with the Not-So-Giant Beltbuckle mocking him through the bars that it's life in prison for him. He's upset that Doris is gone from his bed. He gets worked up about Mariana. He's Hungry to get rid of her. All this anxiety is just killing him.

Doris and said Buckle finish up their floor exercises. Doris is in a gleeful mood-just look at what your wife missed out on. Fijate, you always end up with me. She gets another Callate for her musings. Doris comes right back with, it's odd that you weren't able to make Camila, Wait For It, MIA on your wedding night. Ant's excuse was that Camila really wasn't feeling well; she fainted at the ceremony. Yes, Doris heard about that, but strange, don't you think; it shouldn't have kept her from making love with her husband on her wedding night. So, ha-ha, your wife doesn't love you. He starts to give her a catchetada to the right cheek but Doris stops him-you do and everyone will know that you weren't with your wife last night. In a post-coital fury, Antonio stalks out. Guess WHO is watching from around the corner? It's Panchito.

Doris exits to return to El Piggo's bedroom and runs into Panchito, still watching. He's Hungry to be the Next 007 or Agent 86. He actually puts 1+1 together to note they both emerged from the same room, rather disheveled. Caught in this semi-compromising position, Doris tries to weasel out, but Panchito is too astute and calls her on it. Don G is not going to like this when he finds out about it, he crows. He knows she was with Antonio. Doris mulls it over-quickly, mind you, Ok, how much money does he want to keep quiet?

Mariana, now staying at El-Tal in her old bedroom, is also having a terrible bad night. First she relives (and we have to, too), the boffetadas from the Ghost of Fresno Past telling her to stay away from Pedro. Then she begins to dream of her desire to be married to Pedro. That's enough to wake her up with a start. The last thing she wants is to betray Pedro and Camila. She's Hungry for the truth about her real past. Pedro hears her and walks into the bedroom, but she tries to send him away. He's freaked by her emotional state and is sure she's having another crisis. Pedro tells Padre he thinks Mariana is worse and Padre thinks that maybe having her commiteed is the answer.

Now it's Tracy who gets a close-up of Panchito and Doris negotiating in the hallway, but doesn't hear the details. She's bringing a tray of some kind of merienda for Camila and enters, while Camila is thinking it might be The Ant coming back for another crumb from her picnic table. She's not Hungry. She shares with Tracy that she avoided "stuff happening" but how long can she possibly hold out. There, there, comforts Tracy, she'll help her find that vial of poison in the morning, ok?

Another scene back at Tia's apartment. This time it's Elvira and the boys sitting at the dinner table. The boys are Hungry all the time (as if the reception food wasn't enough). Elvira wants to know why they are so quiet. Army says, what does she think they should talk about:

1) Camila spending her wedding night with someone she detests, or

2) How happy Elvira is that Camila scarificed herself so she wouldn't go to jail.

Maria and Manuel are having a romantic dinner together at a very nice restaurant (probably not in Fresno). They are only Hungry for each other. Their soiree is interrupted by a cell phone call from an anxious Pedro. Manuel needs to come right quick, Mariana is worse (IMHO, she seemed perfectly fine, she wanted to be left alone and wouldn't tell Pedro what was troubling her.) Mariana is appealing to the Virgencita (The Sainted Lady is certainly busy tonight) to help her. The more Mariana tries to convince herself she doesn't want to have impure thoughts about Pedro, the less she seems able to resist them--she wants to be with him.

Time has passed, but Panchito and Doris are still arguing over money or tattletales. It's not a matter of money, he claims, it's a matter of wanting Don G to be happy, understand? Doris reasons with him. If he tells, it could cause Don G to have a heart attack and die. Doris puts this thought in his head, if he loves him so much, he wouldn't want him to die, right? Hmm, Panchito's thought process is stuck on Pause. He'll have to think about it. He leaves the scene.

Doris starts to re-enter the Master's Bedroom when Tracy comes upon her. Doris explains that the Don was having a bad night and she was going to fetch him some medicine. (Uh-huh, thinks Tracy to herself.) Once she's gone, Doris hastily does a 180 and heads for her old bedroom, now the New Missus' Bedroom. She gets all up in Camila's face about her robbing her of not only her husband, but her bedroom, too.

Doris wants Camila OUT of El-Alca, tout de suite. When Camila tells her she can't, she wants to know Why The Hell did you marry him, anyway. She answers her own question. If he obligated her, there must be blackmail involved. Well, she says, in any case the two of them cannot live under the same roof. In the one piece of good advice heard today, Doris tells her to leave; leave before she turns into one of them--a Negrete. She speaks from experience; que disfrutas de mi cama (enjoy my bed-but don't think that included her ex-husband).

We cut away to el Major (Doctor) Dummo, talking to Doc-Not II, that he's been contracted to do another well-paying dirty job--perform an abortion ASAP, before the mother-to-be realizes she's pregnant. It's very early in the pregnanacy--about three weeks. Well, ok, Doc-Not II decides, rubbing his hands together, in that case, he can do it., but why does the husband want to get rid of it. The obvious answer, it's not his.

Padre and Pedro talk. Pedro is convinced Camila *must* have had a reason for doing what she's done. >>FF (only because it repeats what we already know). Pedro can't stand the idea of Antonio and Camila together. Padre suggests changing the subject. He suggests talking about Camila as a victim. Victim? Pedro wonders why.

Manuel and Maria show up at El Tal. Manuel is now positive Mariana is exhibiting symptions of Multiple Personality Disorder. He goes up to see her. Mariana, in full control of her capacities is going over events. She doesn't *want* to remember her past. Her fear is coming from inside, fears everywhere, including the fear that Manuel will leave her. He assures her that will never happen. Manuel tries again, she must learn what provoked the loss of her child. Mariana points out that she's lived three different lives (watch out, Mariana, this is only fuel for Manuel's fire)-- 1) as Mariana,; 2) as a homeless beggar on the streets of LA; 3) as Magaly after being rescued by Manuel and his wife. How on earth can she confront her past? Manuel says more therapy. Mariana says he makes it sound so easy.

Meanwhile downstairs, Pedro and Maria talk. She thinks Pedro must be incomodo with her presence in the house (she, a close Elvira-Camila relative). It won't do any good--or bad; as far as he's concerned, *everything* reminds him of Camila. She tells him that she hopes someday, he'll find out all the reasons why this happened to him. Pedro wonders out loud what she meant by this. Pedro suspects that Padre knows, but won't tell. Maria heads upstairs and the two men go to the kitchen to have some tea.

Mariana, in full control of her faculties, has a sensible conversation with Maria about her finding Manuel again and how happy she is for them they reconnected. Maria wonders if Mariana shouldn't go back to Manuel's apartment, in case she goes through another crisis. Mariana thinks it's better to stay put and try to control her dreams.

Tracy is back to talk to Camila. She wants to help. Camila doesn't think anyone can help her. This night has been worse than hell. Antonio left the room in a snit and she's afraid he'll come back and really mean the business end below the Beltbuckle. Tracy then mentions that she looks a little pale. Well, of course she would, after all the upset she's been through, even her stomach has been turning somersaults. This is someone who is NOT Hungry, for sure.

Bro finally remembers Sis and goes for a visit. He realizes that if he's going to win Camila over, he's going to have to give her time. Sissy wants to know why doesn't he take her away from here, go on a real honeymoon, take a cruise. Uh-uh, no can do, because Don G will take advantage of the situation in his absence to try something against them. Lulu thinks that while Bro is trying to woo her, Camila will escape to rendezvous with Pedro. Antonio swears it's never going to happen. First he'd kill her before letting her be with ese Indio. Lucrazzy is ok with him killing her right pronto. No, Antonio is going to make sure she is vigilada (watched) so she can't set foot outside the house. Like a prisoner? How is he going to accomplish that, asks Lucrecia. Easy-peasy; he's going to make her think she's really sick so she'll have to stay in bed. And that is why, she insists on knowing? Camila is preggers. Lulu freaks *out*. That Bruja (witch) managed to conseguir (get) what Lulu couldn't lograr (achieve). Pedro can't find out. From the look on her face, no one should be surprised if she takes matters into her own hands.

Avances: Don G and Pedro, out riding on horseback, in the middle of the night. A shot rings out--we see Don G with a shotgun (or rifle, whatever) and Pedro is hit (probably a flesh wound to the shoulder). Will this be enough to embolden Camila to disobey Antonio and rush to Pedro's side? Tracy, girl, get hoppin' this is your opportunity to help--everything depends on you finding out about the shooting and letting Camila know (well, this last scene didn't happen in the avances, but it Should). Tune in tomorrow for another exciting hour presented by Cool-Ade Beanie-Time.

El Talismán #83 Fri 5/25/12 The Prince of Darkness and The Sacrificial Lamb, and Who You Callin' Crazy?

I imagine that to you every incident is as clear as if it was yesterday, like a ghost that never goes away. M. Hercule Poirot

Today on El Talisman:

The Prince of Darkness is asking Cameela, the scarifical lamb, if she is feeling better. She says she is.

Doris has gone to see Brigitte and tells her, well if Pigorio can make a fake will, I will do a fake marriage.

Pedro and Mariana have gone to the hospital to see Manuel. Manuel and Maria are still together in his office, and Manuel wants to know what happened to her face. He is all kinds of verklempt. She says, beleive it or not, I think Lucrazy smacked the crap out of me. (Note to Manuel: She is speaking the truth, listen with an open mind, stop looking at her as if she has lost her mind). Manuel asks her if she remembers anything about the attacker, like maybe hair, a face, anything? (Note to Manuel: Dude you weren't listening to her. The undead Lucrazy bashed your daughter jus' sayin'). Maria is not liking him badgering Mariana, so she takes Mariana away to treat her for the blood on her face, and the swelling. Pedro and Manuel are alone, and Pedro says he is glad, he wants to talk to him, without Mariana being in the room. Manuel wants to know what Mariana told Pedro about what happened. Pedro tells Manuel that from the description Mariana gave to Pedro, it fits Lucrazy, but, wait for it, she's dead. See quote above.

Speaking of crazy people, Lucrazy is tearing up the cabana, throwing furniture, trying to tear the blinds off the windows she keeps yelling ayuda mi, listen to me, to the air around her. Valentin, having been banished to find herbs, is walking around in a foul mood, just happens to hear this voice. He is very curious and takes a small tree log and starts to the cabana. (Note to Valentin: Dude run, do not go there, stay away, you'll be sorry). See quote above. So Valentin is still hearing the voice, goes to the door, and breaks it open with the small tree log. He is not believing what he is seeing and stares with big bug eyes at Lucrazy standing there looking just as dumb struck. (Note to Valentin: Told ya dude, now just back away slowly and keep that tree log with you or you'll be sorry).

Back at the wedding from hell, the sacrificial lamb, Cameela, has signed the papers and now she is, wait for it, Senora Prince of Darkness, or in other words The Princess of All That is Lost. The Negrete cousin comes and congratulates her, and of course the Virus is at Cameela's elbow making sure that Cameela observes the proper etiquette. (Note to the Sacrificial Lamb, listen chica, faint again, it's your only way out). Also the Pig has gotten Cameela alone and tells her she should have been the lover of the Prince of Darkness, not his wife.

Meanwhile, back at the cabana, poor Valentin looks like he will have an infarto. He is freaking out, thinking he is seeing a ghost. He keeps saying you aren't real, I am not seeing dead people, keep repeating that dude, maybe she will disappear, jus' sayin'. Lucrazy tells him she isn't dead. He drops the small log in his anxiety, and is kinda, sorta in shock. She tells him NOT to tell anyone she is alive. Well, Valentin wants to go tell the Pig right away she is alive, he turns his back to her (Note to Valentin: Didn't I warn you dude? You should have backed out slowly with that small log, jus' sayin') ,and she hits him over the head and knocks him out cold.

Flor is still not happy about the marriage, and Angel talks to her. He knows about her parents being divorced of course, and tells Flor his parents are divorced too and they have that in common. They are so liking each other. Army comes and talks with them, and laments he hasn't been able to talk to Fabi yet. Flor lets him know she doesn't have her cell phone. They will have to try the internet. He tells Flor he got a job and intends on seeing Fabi soon. Flor finally forgives Army for the stunt her pulled on her and is happy that Fabi and he are novios. The Prince of Darkness comes up and wants a hug and congrats from her, but she doesn't do it. He asks her if she wants to be with her sister in banishment? She is sooo down with that.

Manuel and Pedro still talking about what happened to Mariana. Mariana is confused. She must be, why would she being seeing a dead person? Pedro tells him it sure sounded like Lucrazy, but she's dead. Pedro says this would be what Lucrazy would do if she were alive, but she's dead. (Listen dudes: Mariana is sane, and y'all are crazy, jus' sayin'. And Manuel shame on you! She's your daughter, check it out, Valentin can vouch for Mariana jus' sayin'). He tells Manuel it wasn't Cameela that attacked Mariana, and he can't think of another woman that would do this to Mariana, so why would another woman attack Mariana? In the stupiest diagnosis ever, Manuel wonders if Mariana has, wait for it, Mutiple Personality Disorder!!! (Note to Manuel: That's it!!! You are dead to me. Are you listening to yourself? Check out her story first, before you think she is crazy, jus' sayin'. Talk to Valentin.) Manuel tells Pedro that due to her amnesia and her lapses in memory this could have happened. Pedro, at least, doesn't seem to buy this. Pedro says she had a happy childhood, her father took very good care of her, and so did Pedro. Manuel says he will contact a collegue of his that specializes in this disorder. Manuel also tells Pedro he feels that Mariana is still in love with him. Pedro says, well I've told you and told you, you listening Manuel, I only feel brotherly toward Mariana. Then Manuel says I wonder which woman loves you, Magaly, who may have fallen in love with you in the here and now, or Mariana from mistaken memories of the past? Pedro tells him, no matter what, he isn't in love with either of them, just in a brotherly way. Manuel tells Pedro, maybe Mariana can stay with you at El Tal for awhile, maybe something will jog her memory. Pedro says he will think about it.

Meanwhile, the undead Lucrazy, has trussed Valentin up like the Thanksgiving turkey. She keeps saying, wake up now, wake up. Valentin finally comes to. She gets in his face, still holding the log mind you, and says I can't beleive, you beleive in ghosts. She says yeah I'm dead, but not crazy. (Note to Lucrazy: Haven't you pummeled enough people today? Isn't your blood lust satisified for the day? You SHOULD be dead, jus' sayin'). She is still holding that log. She asks him why did you come here? Say What??? You were yelling like the hounds of hell were at your feet, just saying. You want to gossip about me, Right, RIGHT??? He is moaning and crying on the floor and she hits him in the legs with that log.

Maria treats Mariana for her injuries. Mariana asks her if she knows Pedro? Maria says only through Cameela, and not well. Maria tells Mariana that Pedro and Cameela were so happy until now. She doesn't go into details. Mariana says she just wants her memory back. And Maria tells her to trust Manuel. (Note to Mariana: Listen girl, find a better doctor, or better yet, go see El Capitan, I think he will actually look into your beating, jus' sayin').

Tracy, Geno, and Cameela are in a room at Alcatrash talking about this farce of a marriage. Oh, I have to say (Note to Tracy: Have you been to see Miss Clairol, or maybe Messrs Revlon, Garnier, Freida or perhaps Madame L'Oreal? Your hair is much lighter and actually adds a glow to your face, along with that lipstick.) They want to know exactly why the Sacrificial Lamb has married the Prince of Darkness? She spills all the frijoles. They ask her if she has some kind of plan. Of course the sacrificial lamb don't got no plan. They tell Cameela, you know he is brutal and muy peligroso, ya think. Tracy says you can yell for help. (Note to Julia: chica you got a lock that can be busted open by Tracy? Jus' sayin'). (Note to Cameela: Did you remember the superglue? I hope you did. You are gonna need it.). Cameela with the deer in the headlights look, thanks them for being such good friends. Tracy leaves, but Geno stays and here comes the Prince of Darkness. He wants Cameela out there with the guests, so Geno, giving the Prince of Darkness the death ray, leaves with Cameela, the sacrificial lamb, and the Prince of Darkness. Of course, Cameela runs into the Virus of a mama, and she wants to know why Cameela isn't resting. (Note to Virus: You keep pushing it, LET IT GO!). Cameela has that deer in the headlights look again. Army comes to Cameela and asks if she is ok? Cameela says she is naseous and Army says it is probably stress from all she has been through. He tells her she is not alone and he will do anything to help her. She thinks about Pedro and wishes she could have told him everything. Geno and Tomas are now sitting with Cameela and tell her if she needs anything, like say, HELP, they are right there, next door, at El Tal. Cameela says she is afraid to be alone with the Prince of Darkness and what comes after that. Geno has a great idea! You're sick right, RIGHT! Use that. (Oh, sure, sure, you know how the Prince of Darkness is).

Doris is still at M. Brigette's in her old room, and in comes, wait for it, the arranger of fake wills and marriages, Lucas. She tells him she wants him to arrange a fake marriage for her to Pigorio, and he says yeah sure, but what do I get out of it? She proceeds to apply her en flagrante skills on him.

Now we have the Prince of Darkness talking to fake Doc, whose name is, wait for it, Jaime. He asks Doc Jaime if Cameela could be, you know, PREGGERS? Of course, Doc Jaime doesn't know for sure but it could be a possiblity. He now has the deer in the headlights look. Doc Jaime says she will have to take a test, to know for sure. Of course this wasn't in the Prince of Darkness' planes, he curses Pedro again and calls him an indio, and again CAMEELA ES MIO. He tells fake doc Jaime not to breathe a word to anyone.

The Diablo Pig is seeing the Virus alone, so he goes over to talk to her. He says she has so much ambition, to be selling her daughter out, and she will NOT see a penny of his fortune. The Virus, we all know how she is full of sweetness and light, NOT, tells the Pig all she cares about it the happiness of her daughter. (Note to Virus: I get the distinct impression that the Pig cares more about your daughter than YOU do.).

In their en flagrante afterglow, Lucas and Doris are eating a snack and talking about the fake wedding. He tells her whenever she wants to hold this "fake wedding" he's her man and just to let him know. She tells him she will be the Duena of Alcatrash.

Pig and his fake doc, Jaime, are talking and the Pig wants to know what the heck is wrong with Cameela? You are MIO DOCTORCITO, is that clear? Jaime says it is. Pig walks off and here comes the Virus. She wants to know why Jaime is passing himself off as a doc now. Isn't he really a major domo? He gives her some poppycock story. She isn't buying it. She wants the truth, he says you can't handle the truth, not really, but you get the gist. She isn't believing a word of it. He says he is here to take care of the Pig and his heart (ya know the one where it is TEN sizes too small). He excuses himself and leaves.

Fake doc Jaime is outside and freaking out. He calls Rennie, and lets him know, wait for it, the Virus KNOWS who he is, cause he ran into her at Cameela's wedding to the Prince of Darkness, and what shall he do, what shall he say? Jaime says he is afraid the Virus will out him to the Pig. Rennie tells him to be calm and just go with the flow. It is business after all. He asks Rennie for help. Rennie gets off the phone with Jaime and Rita has heard everything is is pithed off. He says now that Virus knows they will have to do business with her. Well Rita is so not down with that. She blames him for marrying the Virus, and all for, wait for it, EL CHEQUE ES MIO. Rennie says you know why I married her, for moola of course. She leaves the room and Rennie curses the Virus.

Tonio has cornered the fake Doc Jaime again. He looks like he wants to hurl. He wants him to contact another doctor, about the Cameela problem. He calls a friend of his named Raymundo, Raymundo will take care of it. (Oh, please, let Raymundo have an ounce of scruples). Jaime tells the Prince of Darkness that Raymundo was a doctor, but due to his drug problem, lost his license. Well there goes my hope of scruples. The Prince of Darkness leaves, and fake Doc Jaime examines the Pig and tells him, hey you are doing great, BP is fine, you are swell. Doris has been in the alcove in his room, back from her en flagrante with Lucas, and is watching them. Pig thanks the fake doc, and turns his attention to Doris. He tells her he wants her, yewwww, if you only knew where she has been, jus' sayin' They smoochy, (Note to Doris: Did you at least take a bath, and you got your Listerine? Jus' sayin').

Mariana has packed her bags, cause evidently Pedro has agreed for her to come stay at El Tal for awhile. Manuel tells her Pedro is expecting her and everything is fine. She has a question for him. You believe me don't you? Some did try to whack me. I'm not crazy, am I? I know a woman tried to whack me. Manuel doesn't say anything. (Note to Manuel: You are dead to me until you get your head out of , well you know). Pedro greets Mariana when she gets to El Tal, he tells her Mi Casa es su Casa. He has installed her in her old room. He tells her little by little she will start to remember. He bids her goodnight and he'll see her in the morning.

The Prince of Darkness finally gets to the cabana and sees the fiasco that Lucrazy has created, with Valentin still trussed up like the Thanksgiving Turkey and he is moaning. She has stopped harassing Valentin, on the Prince of Darkness' arrival, and begs him to forgive her. She was so afraid Valentin would tell on her, nanny nanny, boo boo. She was by herself, doncha know, time on her hands etc. He releases Valentin from the tressing, and swears him to silence. Valentin swears. The Prince of Darkness tells Lucrazy, I can see if you did this to Panchito (Oh, please not Panchito, who deserves a wayyyy better familia than you) but not Valentin. She tells the Prince of Darkness that she saw Mariania with Pedro es mio, and just went crazy, please forgive her. (Note to Lucrazy: Enough is enough already, the Prince of Darkness needs to drag your crazy ass to the nearest manicomio, jus' sayin'). She says you are married to Cameela now, what about poor little me? He tells her not to worry she will get what she wants. He is SO with her. Oh, yeah , right, sure, sure.

Now everyone has left the infernal reception and the Prince of Darkness, escorts the sacrificial lamb to their new abode. (Note to Julia: Hey chica did you notice the keypad on the wall of that room? Wonder if it has a panic button and if the Sacrificial Lamb will use it? Jus' sayin'). He has a big whiskey in his hand. She mistakenly thinks this is her room. He corrects her and says this is OUR ROOM. We will be sleeping in the same bed and getting en flagrante as soon as possible! You are my espousa and this is the wedding night after all. Cameela, the sacrificial lamb, looks like she wants to hurl. She tells him, sueltme. She says I am your wife, clearly, but I am so not down with sleeping with your butt, not really, but you know she is thinking it, much less wanting to get en flagrante with you. By this time he has got her by the neck, and she is yelling she doesn't love him, never will. He tells her that he loves her, adores her, all his love is hers, yuck. He starts grabbing her face and kissing her neck, and face. She is screaming. (Note to Cameela, you ever take self defense classes? A good kick in the avacadoes will work. Also see that keypad over there? Maneouver his butt over there and push that button, jus' sayin').

We had various thought bubbles, Cameela thinking of Pedro, Pedro thinking of Cameela, Mariana thinking of the beat down she got from Lucrazy.

Domatilla, Margarito, and Santiago are having dinner together and Santiago is loving the food here. Domatilla tells him she got the recipe from Tracy, and Santiago likes it cause it reminds him of his Mama's cooking. They are trying to legally get her to the States, so she can see Santiago. He is very happy. Pedro comes in and tells them Mariana is the house guest for awhile.

El Talismán #82 Thu 5/24/12 The Creeping Boda From the Black Lagoon

“Yes, marriage means commitment. But so does insanity.” (Author Unknown)

El Alcatraz:

Well, we’ve all been expecting the most dysfunctional wedding ever, and the Negretes don’t disappoint. First the two major shareholders square off over which one will get to keep his squeeze at the ranch: the Pig says Camila’s got to go, and Tony says it should be Doris. As usual, they’re all hat and no cows and nothing gets resolved. I think they should just let the girls fight it out.

Angel tries to cozy up to Flor, but after four months of simpering she’s picked today to grow some avocados and marches over to bitch Camila  out. I hate you! You ruined my life! Everything is your fault! (Are we sure she’s not related to Elvira?) Meanwhile Tracy and Alberta wring their hands in the kitchen about Camila sacrificing herself like a Christmas turkey, and the Pig tells the Piglet to keep the fake doctor on ice in case there’s a problem.

Bachelor Orfanato:

Mariana and Pedro continue discussing her unsatisfactory interview with Camila. I know you two love each other, she insists; why aren’t you trying harder to fix this? Well, if she loves me so much, why won’t she confide in me? Mariana doesn’t know. Pedro gripes that nobody knows anything, nobody understands anything, least of all him. (That’s pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?) Suddenly Mariana gets that “I See Dead People” look again – little does she know that this time she really IS seeing dead people, as Lucrazy-in-disguise ducks around the corner of the garage.

Mariana shakes off the specter and changes the subject. Pedro tells her more about her past and what a nice guy her Dad was, and she admits she’s having a hard time remembering to see him as “just a brother.” Finally she takes her leave – or at least tries to. Out by her car she’s ambushed by the Undead One, who tells her to stay away from Pedro, smacks her bloody, and rabbits off in her high heels.

Mariana staggers back to the patio and tells Pedro what just happened. He pronounces himself baffled – the only demented chick he knows is Lucrezia, and she’s dead. Now Mariana thinks she’s starting to lose her mind (again.) Better lock up the baby clothes.

Maison Brigitte:

Doris is going on and on about la estúpida de Camila, and Brigitte points out that ship has sailed and she’d better just concentrate on the Pig. “What if he dumps me?” Doris frets. Brigitte says don’t be silly, he’s crazy for you. Then Doris tells her another woman has appeared on the scene…someone from his past who’s a tiger in bed and a real threat…Elvira! (Brigitte doesn’t seem as surprised at this characterization as I am. Maybe she has a beanie on under her hairdo.)

Back at the 'Traz:

The guests are milling around the sala while Tony menaces Camila out on the porch. Elvira recognizes the fake doc at the hors d’oeuvres table but doesn’t have time for more than a vague threat before they’re called to order for the big, festive paper-signing ceremony thing. Tony dispatches his document with typical surliness, and it’s Camila’s turn. She picks up the pen and…faints dead away. Doctor! Is there a doctor in the house?

Around town:

  • Pedro finds out from Mariana that Manuel’s lost love is Camila’s aunt and says, “The world is a head-scarf.” For realz.
  • Several people make foreshadowing-type remarks about how Manuel & María had better watch out for Elvira, coz she’s trouble.
  • Reny, Rita & the fake doc bicker over small piles of chantaje-change.
  • The Pig muses out loud about how cute Elvira is. (I don't know where he's keeping his beanie, but there must be one.)
  • Lucrazy has a hissy-fit coz she doesn’t have anybody to play with and trashes her cabana.
  • Tracy & Alberta send Valentín to the far, far corner of the property to gather herbs. (Hey, I don’t write this stuff; I just report it.)

Avances:

Camila finally signs the fateful contract, and Antonio tries to collect…in the bedroom.
