Cuando Me Enamoro #2 Thursday 4/21/11 The Reginas have an epically bad day

Last night we left a distraught Regina begging for help from the feckless crowd at the park. Meanwhile, cute but kidnapped Reginita is being tucked into her new car seat by mommy dearest who can actually hear big Regina’s plaintive wailing. Wow, how cold can you get? Pepa smugly drives off with her baby booty.

Isidro rushes to see pallid Roberto at the hospital. Roberto gasps that he needs to see Regina to ask her forgiveness. She has to know he loves her. Roberto flatlines and it’s so long Sebastien; his work here is done.

Cata and Inez join Regina at the police station. Regina assures the detective that her husband wouldn’t take the baby.

Pepa packs up the two bawling bebes and prepares to escape. A young valet comments on the adorable twins. The incubation light bulb goes on over Pepa’s head and she hatches her nefarious plot.

I spoke too soon, Roberto is revived. “For now,” the doctor mutters ominously.

Regina is back home, still hysterical that her baby is missing and that the police have nothing to show. Her plan to make pictures to distribute all over the city is interrupted by the doorbell. It’s Isidro who is seriously cara impactada to hear about the kidnapping. He adds unfortunately Roberto cannot help because he had a serious accident last night and he’s very bad off. Regina faints.

Pepa drives like a madwoman, cursing the screaming demon brats and the man who spawned them. Baby Reginita thoughtfully fondles her “R” necklace.

Regina sprints into the hospital. The doctor tells her that Roberto has been asking for her but unfortunately there is probably not much time left. (Twist the knife why dontcha?) He lost a lot of blood in the accident and his heart is weak.

Luckily Roberto wakes up and sees Regina at his side. She sobs that they have to be together to fight for their daughter. Oopsie, will she let it slip? He wants to see Reginita. Regina, in an unlikely moment of telenovela genius, does NOT tell him about Reginita. Instead she thought bubbles to the Virgin of Guadalupe to protect her daughter and husband, to whom she cannot reveal the truth due to his delicate condition.

Pepa calls some rich guy named Gustavo. She tells him she desperately needs his help. They make plans to meet tomorrow. Pepa coos to her Roberta in the high chair and ignores Reginita on the cold ground, not that Reginita seems to care.

Isidro tells Cata that he doesn’t know much about this Pepa, just that Roberto was boinking her. Oh, and she’s capable of anything. Also slightly suspicious, Rob’s accident happened close to where Pepa was in a hotel waiting for him. Cata and Regina jump all over the theory that Pepa must have stolen the baby and caused Rob’s accident to get back at them. Well, if the police in this telenovela are anything like the police in every other telenovela then these ladies won’t see Reginita or Pepa anytime soon. Like at least 24 years, heh.

We have a montage of Inez passing out photos of Reginita all over town, Missing Child, accompanied by odd, ice-skating rink music.

At the police station, Isidro tells Regina and the detective that Roberto planned to make a will leaving his fortune divided equally between his two daughters but that he hadn’t gotten around to it. The detective wonders if Pepa knew this. Isidro confirms that Pepa was, for a while, Rob’s assistant and had the keys to the office so could have seen the documents.

Next morning in the hospital Regina explains to Inez that Reginita needs special care for her heart. Her baby must live a life of tranquility, wherever could she be?

Pepa meets with Gustavo and weaves her lying story that a man done her wrong, knocked her up, abandoned her and is now after her daughters. Gus knows she’s alone in the world, no family, but no way will she let this damn dude take her daughters. She needs to re-register the girls under her name. Will Gus help her? She hits him up for protection. Apparently he is influential in his town. He agrees to help her and she says from this day forward he can count on her unconditionally. The girls are named Roberta and (pause) Renata and are the daughters only of Josefina Alvarez.

Roberto is barely hanging on. Regina tells him that Pepa won’t split them up. Hearing Pepa’s name his heart monitor starts going into overdrive. He mutters “She...she...” Regina asks, “She what? Did she steal our daughter and cause your accident?” Flatline, this time probably for good.

The doc vainly tries to revive Roberto and Regina sobs in the background. The heavenly choir sings as Regina kisses her beloved Roberto goodbye. There is much wailing and crying as you might imagine, through two scenes actually.

Gustavo comes through with the documents and tells Pepa she’s a brave mother for wanting to raise her two daughters on her own. Gus says shes got to lie low. Would she like to be his personal assistant if she doesn’t mind living in such a remote place? She agrees and gives him a hug. In a classic telenovela maneuver she rolls her eyes behind his back.

Pepa prepares formula for the girls. Oops, she runs out so Renata gets water. Pepa tells her that if sis leaves leftovers she’ll get some, otherwise she’s SOL. She’s not going to get special treatment just because of her weak heart. Regina is probably just glad that mommy dearest isn’t giving her a huge gigantic wedgie like the one she’s giving to Roberta.

More hysterical crying in the hospital with Regina blaming herself for Roberto’s death. Cata rightfully points out that if Roberto hadn’t gotten Pepa knocked up then none of this would have happened. Isidro pipes up that Roberto loved Regina deeply. Nevertheless the wailing ensues with renewed vigor. Regina vows she’ll not rest until she finds her daughter. One day that woman will pay for everything she’s done to them.

Sad burial scene montage accompanied by excessive sobbing and a very nice version of Sevillanas del Adios by Elan.

Pepa reads an article or obit sending condolences to Senora Regina Soberon de Gamba over the death of her husband Roberto Gamba. Rest in Peace. She figures he couldn’t denounced her so for now she’s free to live in this odious town. When the girls turn 25 they’ll return to see Regina but for now she’ll have to live in the hell of not knowing what became of her daughter, bwahahahaha!

Regina is complaining to an investigator that her daughter couldn’t have just vanished into thin air. He assures Regina and Cata that they’ve searched the entire country but nada. Regina vows to search the ends of the earth, she'll never give up.

Pepa, acting as Gustavo’s assistent, opens his urgent mail. The envelopes contains pictures of Renata/Reginita and a police drawing of herself! Gus shows up and she quickly hides the evidence. He invites himself to dinner at her place and she gushes it would be her honor, then thought bubbles the old telenovela standby, “Que asco me das (You disgust me),” adding that for now she’s stuck with him in this damn town. Do we know what town they’re in?

Nine years later:
At the wedding of Inez and Isidro Regina prays for their happiness. While she’s there she puts in a good word for her daughter, whom she trusts God will protect and watch over.

Gustavo announces to Pepa that he plans to retire in a few days. Pepa pouts that she’ll be out of work, right? Gus gets all smarmy and coos that he doesn’t want to lose her. He can’t give her work per se but he’d be happy to continue paying for her services, nudge nudge wink wink. She gets bitchy, reminds him it was SHE who helped launch his career as El Presidente Municipal (like mayor?) and if he doesn’t want his wife to find out about them he’d better ante up with a hefty severance.

Like most slimeballs he acts all shocked and betrayed but he tells her to pick up her check tomorrow and then scat. She sarcastically calls him Presidente Municipal and says they’ll never see each other again.

Sweet music plays and a cute little girl in braids runs into the house calling for Roberta. Roberta has a more stylish wig, er hairdo, and is clearly more spoiled. Renata excitedly shows her sis some shirts she bought with her babysitting money. Of course she bought a blouse for her sister too. Renata runs upstairs to put her new blouse and ribbons on and Roberta tosses her blouse aside.

Pepa comes home and Roberta tells her that even though mom tells her she has a weak heart she feels fine. Pepa caresses her daughter and silently congratulates herself for her great idea of putting Renata’s illness onto Roberta. So I guess the girls have never actually been to a doctor then. Roberta shows Pepa the blouse and comments that she wishes Renata would have gotten ribbons for her too. Pepa totally overreacts on this ribbon thing. Renata points out that Roberta doesn’t even like ribbons. Pepa doesn’t care, Renata knows the rules, sick sis gets everything that Renata gets. Pepa throws Renata onto the ground and cuts her braids off as punishment. Naughty, lying Roberta watches and at least has the heart to shed a tear. Scary scene with Pepa shrieking and waving the scissors around.

Renata prays to God and asks him why her mommy loves Roberta more than her. “Why does mommy hate me so much?”

Pepa promises Roberta that they’ll move from this damned town within a month. She shows Roberta a magazine cover featuring someone named Constanza and says she plans to be working for her company.

Cut to the DF where Constanza strongly recommends to her very handsome brother Gonzalo that he hire this Josefina who was the right hand woman of the ex Presidente Municipal. I guess Constanza and Pepa/Josefina were in secondary school together. We find out that Gonzalo is a divorced dad with a son. She tells Gonzalo the story about Josefina raising two kids on her own, she needs the work, so Gonzo agrees to hire her.

Elsewhere Regina christens her new center, called the Regina’s Hope Center, for single mothers and their babies who need help, PSA blah blah blah. Cata gushes that the center will help prevent women from doing stupid crap like what Pepa did to...oopsie, foot in mouth. Nice buzz kill on the celebration grandma.

Josefina, now Fina, used to be Pepa, arrives at Gonzo’s office in what looks like a cocktail dress, guess she’s starting “work” right away. She’s hauled along the two girls, hugs all around, gosh the girls are cute, so is Gonzo’s son who shows up with his soccer ball. Renata is warmer and more lovable while Roberta is paler and a sulkier. The son Matías and Renata share a glance that I’m unable to define.

Montage of Regina and Cata celebrating the missing Reginita’s birthdays, year after year, and what they (older mom and grandma) look like now in the present. Now a montage of Constanza and husband celebrating the birthdays of their nieces, and a new grown up Roberta and older Fina, and a new grown up Renata (still wearing red) and older Gonzo whom she calls Papa so I guess Fina snagged her sugar daddy. We finish in a big house with a big, rich family celebrating the birthdays of Renata and Roberta who blow out their candles together. Everyone is happy and the girls, now beautiful of course, hug.

Some smarmy guy approaches Renata and friend and tells her he hopes she made the same wish as he. The qirls are all Que the hell?

Connie comments to Fina that Renata is always lucky with the boys. Fina sourly adds that Roberta is lucky too but with much more discretion. By telenovela rules this means she’s likely a slut. More conversation to let us know that Renata is outgoing and gregarious, Roberta is a stick in the mud, and that no matter what Renata does it’s not good enough for finicky Fina.

Conversation that gets us up to date on the situation: Gonzo tells his sis and cuñado that he wishes his son lived with them but he’s in Spain with mom. Coni reassures him that he’ll come back sooner or later to be with them. Gonzo says he was forced to make a business decision and if he doesn’t hear back from his son in a week he’ll name Renata the Vicepresidente Comercial (VP of Marketing, thanks to Marta for the translation). We learn that when Gonzo married Fina he lost his son. Gonzo feels eternally guilty about this. Guess Matias hated his new evil stepmother so he must be a smart kid.

Fina is across the room angrily thought bubbling that she married Gonzo and got rich but being stuck with Renata all these years has been a torture for her.

Isidro and Inez, who magically age in a split second, visit Regina and Cata with bad news. The most recent investigator has decided to abandon the case. Regina says they’ll find another investigator. Cata the terminal wet blanket worrries that maybe Reginita is dead what with her bad heart and all. Regina rededicates her life to finding her daughter. She will never, ever stop looking for her. I was thinking to count all the times she vows this but I’m afraid I can’t count that high.

The smarmy guy’s name is Diego and he wants to be Renata’s boyfriend. She likes him as a friend but... He forces a kiss on her just in time for Fina to see. Diego skedaddles like a pansy-a** leaving Renata to face Fina who accuses her of being a provocative slut (golfa). She hisses that Renata doesn’t have an idea of how ashamed Fina is of being her mother. Renata is stricken.

Meanwhile Roberta is on the phone talking to some guy with perfect teeth. Oh, it’s that hot, scruffy guy from Corazon Salvaje. He tells her he just arrived in Mexico as a surprise. He's tired of hiding their relationship, he’s worthy of her (Yo soy digno de ti) and wants to meet the family. She begs him not to come and they’ll talk tomorrow. He practically slobbers all over the phone in his eagerness to see his “Bonita”.

Fina shows up, cuts the call short and gripes to Roberta that her sister’s done it again. This time she caught her getting kissy-face with one of her little friends Diego. Roberta gets bent out of shape, Diego is HER friend and was supposed to be flirting with HER! Mami gives her a big hug and promises that Renata will never get in the way of Roberta’s happiness. Of course Renata overhears this final bit. Happy Birthday Renata.

Mañana: Roberta agrees to marry the hot, scruffy guy and Fina tells her if she does marry him the doors to the house and her inheritance will be shut forever.

New Vocabulary List available

Hey all, Team Llena put together a vocabulary list from our telenovela, Llena de Amor, and we'd like to share it with anyone who is interested. You may find it at this Llena Vocabulary List link. It's on a Google spreadsheet so you may download it into any other type of spreadsheet that you like. That way you can make it yours and tweak it and sort it however you like. Like everything we do here the list is a volunteer effort and not professionally edited, so please forgive small errors, missing punctuation and the like. The important thing is that we learn fun, new words and phrases. You can bet since the list comes from a telenovela there are some doozies.

We hope you have fun with it.

Sincerely,
Recappers and Commenters from Llena de Amor

Voiceover: Love is born!
A super production with a first rate cast who will sow intrigues and treasons…
With the lead man.. Juan Soler…
Decided to not lose comes… Sylvia Navarro!
Prepared to win everything comes… Jessica Coch!
Enter into a world where feelings get confused… (Jero: Who is this woman??)… and the vengeance will transform into sin… the purity of what the heart feels…
A challenge begins… a confrontation between reason and what the heart commands… you will learn what happens when you really fall in love!...

Intro with Enrique Iglesias and Juan Luis Guerra’s theme ‘Cuando me enamoro’
Original story by Caridad Bravo Adams, ‘version libre’ script

As part of the credits we can see (a scene copied right out of ‘a walk in the clouds’ movie … did anyone ever see a non-sexy version of a barefoot woman dancing over grapes … Sylvia looks very SEXY with the antique dress on!!...) winery grape crushing ceremony with Renata (Sylvia Navarro) right in the middle of it.
All of a sudden everyone is getting a close-up… a clean shaven Luis Gatica (Santiago from orig La Mentira 98), a very young looking Yolanda Ventura (Azucena from Corazon Salvaje 93), a young looking Alejandro Ruiz (Adrian from Esmeralda 97),

(some dining room someplace)
Regina: As long as I live, as long as I continue breathing!... I will continue to look for my daughter!...

(in another place in the universe)
Pepa(to Renata): You have no idea how much I am ashamed of you and of being your mother…

(back to Regina)
Regina: I am going to find her, Ines. I am going to find her. (we see a glance of Renata smiling)

(for some reason somewhere Regina and Renata meet and hug)
Regina: (thinks… My God, why do I get so worried about that girl and her family?)

Renata: (very moved, teary eyed) When I hugged Regina I felt something really special!

Rafa on his knees with a ring for Roberta : Do you want to marry me?

Later on Rafa is calling Jeronimo
Rafa: I am getting married, Jeronimo!! She is the best woman in the world! (on other end Jeronimo smiles happily)

Pepa: Over my dead body!! You hear me?? (as we see Roberta an Rafa kissing, then we see Rafa wounded holding his belly and falling to floor fainting)

Some farm girl very anxiously shouts very upset…: ‘La bonita’ killed him!! ‘La bonita’!! She was the killer!! (as we see Rafa dying on floor, reaching for the cell phone)

(Rafa had a gun in his hand… someone takes a black silk handkerchief out of his hand)
Man’s voice: Everything seems to indicate that he committed suicide…

Jeronimo arrives at the gate of the hacienda ‘La bonita’, there is a black bow on top.
Jeronimo: Why do they say that my brother killed himself for a woman?
(later, more upset wringing a paper in his hand) Who of this woman?? What is the name of this ‘bonita’?? (he is yelling it to same girl who yelled that ‘la bonita’ killed him)

As Pepa is telling Roberta ‘Don’t worry, dear.. your man will come… And I swear it on my life that your sister won’t take him away from you…’ We see Jeronimo kiss Roberta, then Renata arrives and he stares at her… Later we see Jeronimo kiss Renata… we see Roberta on phone or taking a picture with her phone saying ‘you fell in (a trap?) already, Jeronimo, you fell in’
Then Renata and Jeronimo are kissing again and coming out of the elevator we see Roberta and some other young guy. They are surprised and possibly upset when they see Jeronimo kissing Renata… and just as Renata was telling Jeronimo something about Roberta (with a sad face as if this she is about to say hurts her)
Roberta: You were kissing the man I was dating!! (she is really angry, the guy is also breathing hard angry)

Renata (to Jero, continuing the scene following their first kiss) Well, I don’t know why, but she hates me!

The guy runs back to elevator, Roberta runs right at Renata and begins roughing her as if we were watching a Jerry Springer show with women going at each other for a man… Roberta is yelling something like ‘you will not take him away from me!!’

Jeronimo, back in his hotel room, looks at a picture of Renata and Roberta… ‘some day I will meet you face to face…’

We see when a very excited Roberta introduces herself to Jeronimo… 'I am Roberta!'

Jeronimo shakes her hand but his face is ice cold…

Jeronimo telling Renata ‘I adore you’…

Jero: Something here does not quite add up, Renata…

Jero: I don’t want you to be the woman I have to hate for having betrayed… and led my brother to his death…

(we have opera tragedy type music…)
Jero(toasting): For your ‘bonita’… (my guess is he is facing a picture or an object of his brother Rafael’s)

(sudden time reverses 24 yrs… to Mexico City)

Some guy is driving his lady to hospital, she is in hard labor…
It is Roberto, Regina is in labor a month ahead of her due date… (I guess this is important since they make a point of this, both he and she)

Once they arrive at the ER, Roberto runs to the door and yells for help, A gurney, please!! My ‘mujer’ is about to give birth!!... She manages in between pains to tell him she loves him and to call her mom… sure! … she is rolled away.. his pager goes off… He calls from a pay phone…

On other side… somewhere in Cuernavaca…
Rob: Isidro, what was that paging message about?
Isi: Pepa is in labor!
Rob: WHAT??! (this must be SOME MAN!! Not only get two women pregnant but both are in labor on same day!! Well, I did see that at least once more… in Entre el Amor y el Odio) She called me because she did not find you at home!... Have no idea how she got my contacting info!... Why don’t you come here?
Rob: I can’t! Regina is…
Isi: Well, I will take her to the hospital, don’t worry… I will contact you if anything happens (we see Pepa in full labor holding on to door frames.. yelling at Isidro let’s go!!
At hospital O.R., Regina will have to get C-section surgery, the baby is coming butt-first and is in fetal distress…

Roberto is in waiting area of labor and delivery pacing back and forth, working on digging a ditch in the hard wood floor… (Ok, people, for your info, most C-sections only take a few minutes… so do we need several scenes of Roberto digging a ditch in the waiting room?)

Finally! Cute baby! Regina holds it very relieved and crying with happiness… Doctor gives Roberto the good news, had to do C-section but they are healthy…
(OK, this is very weird… we suddenly have in the background a version of ‘Cuando me enamoro’ song that I believe was sung by Angelica Maria in the 70s… the happy family scene with this disturbing song in the background… The nurse sends Roberto out of the labor room, he will have to wait until she is moved to a hospital room.

Out in waiting area, Isidro is now there, Roberto is surprised and angry…
Rob: Isidro, why did you bring Pepa here? Why didn’t you take her to the hospital over there at Cuernavaca?
Isi: Because she did not want me to take her there! She demanded me to bring her here! She said her doctor is here and she had it all pre-arranged! It is more than an hour away! I was afraid it would be born in the car!!
( Roberto’s anxiety level has gone up from defcon 3 to defcon 1!!)
Rob: No, no! This can’t be happening!!
Isi: Roberto if you did not know that Pepa was coming to this hospital, what are you doing here?
Rob: Regina’s labor came ahead! My daughter was just born!
Isi: What?? It can’t be! Who could say that the daughters of your wife and lover were going to be born on the same day and at the same place?

(just as if by clockwork, Pepa’s daughter is handed to her.. Roberto comes to see her)
Pep: Roberto.. I knew you would not fail me, I knew you would not leave me alone at your daughter’s birth… (he is totally in disbelief of how his day is going)

Some days later at a decently wealthy house…
Cata: (holding a baby and speaking to it) Yes, dear, I am your grandmother Cata. You can recognize me already, right? (Roberto is smiling at Regina, who is resting on the bed smiling back at him) She’s’ laughing with me!! You are so pretty!... But your mother wants you to be with her so I will hand you over to her… (hands her to Roberto who hands her to Regina… and again we get the disturbing Angelica Maria Cuando me enamoro song…)
Rob: I love you, Regina. I wish this moment lasted forever…
Cata offers to go get a camera to take pictures…
Rob: My love, swear to me that you will never stop loving me as much as I love you.
Reg: My love, how do you think I will stop loving you? If you are the best man in the world? You and this little baby girl are the best gift life has given me…
Rob: Sometimes I feel like I don’t deserve you…
Reg:What is wrong, my love? Since post-partum syndrome is supposed to be something that women get, not men…
Rob: No, no. I am not depressed. But I worry that someone might harm you or the baby.
Reg: At your side, nothing can happen to us. We are safe and happy with you.
Rob: My love, what if we moved far away? I don’t know, to another country.
Reg: Roberto…what is wrong? That is not the usual you.
(There is a phone call, Cata answers and comes to tell Roberto that someone called from his office [or so they said] saying it is an urgent matter…)
Rob: Thank you Dona Cata.. .but first take a picture of me and my two loves.
(sweet family picture time… say cheeessseeee!!)
Rob answers the phone…
Pepa: Roberto!! You said you would come see your daughter and me!!
Rob: (he is still with Reg and Cata) Yes, but I have a busy morning. Tell the licenciado to excuse me and I will call him later.
Pepa: I want you here!! I want you here right now, Roberto!! I already heard you taking pictures with your ‘two loves’!! And here you have other ‘loves’!!
Rob: At this moment I am with my wife and daughter, and I can’t see anyone.
Pepa: Well you will have to!! Because here is your other daughter and she also needs you!! And if you don’t come, Roberto, you will regret it!! Your family will pay for that, I will take care of it!! I swear it Roberto!! (Roberto has a super anxious face)

Roberto ends up visiting Pepa…
Pep: I am so glad you came! (she tries to hug him but he stiffs up…)
Rob: Pepa!...
Pep: We have to toast!..
Rob: NO, we have to talk!
Pep: Yes, we have to talk about our situation and of your daughter Roberta!
Rob: Did you name the baby Roberta?
Pep: Yes! Roberta! Like you, her father!! So you will never forget that you have a daughter who carries your name and your blood!
Rob: All this situation hurts me, Pepa.
Pep: No more than me… I believed that AT LEAST I would give you your first child!! But I wasn’t counting on your wife jumping ahead of me!! My poor daughter! She is already at a disadvantage for being the ‘ilegitimate’!
Rob: Pepa! Unfortunately I can’t change the past! I don’t like having a daughter in these conditions! I hate myself for it! But the fact is that I have a wife and daughter and I cannot be with you as you want!!

Back at Rob’s house Regina tells mom she wants Roberto to find her and the baby together when he gets back home…
Cata:… I have to recognize that I was wrong about your husband… He is so in love with you and so happy about your daughter’s birth!
Reg: You see?? And you were so against our getting married!
Cata: I did not because it was all so rushed! We knew nothing about him!!

Back to the argument.
Pepa: I came to your life before she did! I was the one you betrayed!! You went on vacation and came back married and with another woman!!
Rob: I never lied to you! You always knew I did not love you! There was never any commitment between us!
Pep: But now I have a daughter of yours!! And this ties you to me forever!!
Rob: Understand this, Pepa. We made a mistake conceiving that girl. It was not a planned pregnancy nor a product of love!!
Pep: Don’t call my daughter a mistake! (you got that one point right, crazy woman!) Not at all! And don’t speak for me! I love you! I love you as noone loves you. So… leave Regina, start a new life with me… with our girl…
Rob: I am sorry but that cannot be. You and I were irresponsible and we can’t take back time. We have to solve this situation as soon as possible!
Pep: And WHAT is your solution?? WHAT?? WHAT IS IT?? To get rid of me and the girl?? And avoid your wife from finding out that you have a lover and another daughter?? WHAT??
Rob: What I propose to you is for you to go live outside Mexico.
Pep: NO, not even dead… My place is here, here beside the father of my daughter, of the man I love… so don’t make me hate the fact that I love you, Roberto. Don’t make me.
Rob: And you don’t make me hate having ever met you.
(there it is! The set-up!!... we have a commercial of Sal y Pimienta showing the 50 beautiful people of People en Espanol on apr 28th at 10/9pm.)

More cheesy scenes with Regina and Cata sweet talking about the love story of Regina and Roberto… Regina says it was love at first sight… Cata says it was same with her and her late husband Jose… and they will be just as happy… Regina keeps saying the baby is the best blessing for a couple who love each other so much…

Argument continues… he will send her a monthly expenses amount… but Pepa won’t accept… if he tries to get rid of her and her baby, his wife will find out everything… Roberto insists he will come through for them but only if they leave… Roberto even offers to leave his fortune in equal parts to his two daughters in his will… Pepa says it is no good if my daughter has to wait that long… Roberto says they will get it when they turn 25. At that time they will find out they have a fortune and also a sister sharing the wealth evenly… Pepa accuses him of being a ‘poco hombre’. He agrees But it is the only solution he can come up with… Pepa kicks him out…

Roberto gets home and is moved at seeing Regina and the baby… he is so sad,
Rob thinks: ‘how could I be so stupid and risk our happiness?... how?’

Possibly some time later… Rob is coming out of the office… pepa comes to him…
She has decided to take his offer… He is very visibly relieved… Have you thought about where you want to go? … not yet.. when I know I will let you know.

More cheesy ‘love you, you make me happy’ scenes with Regina, he gives her a second diamond ring… cheesy cheesy cheesy… (again that old Cuando me enamoro chorus…)

A year later…
At the architecture firm he shares with Isidro… Roberto is telling him that he and his baby daughter share a small/minor heart condition… seems Pepa is hard to locate/track… she collects the monthly money but moves from one place to another frequently… Roberto is concerned he has another daughter but doesn’t even know where she is… Isidro twists the knife… ‘children pay for their parents sins/mistakes’.

Birthday party time… Regina and Cata celebrate Renata’s first steps… They comment that Renata looks like her dad… they also talk about her heart condition but we will take care of her and fill her with love…
Roberto has not got around to modifying his will to add Roberta to it… Isidro says Roberto has just not got around to do it yet, Roberto says Monday will do for sure.

Roberto says can’t help wonder where my other daughter will spend her 1st bday.
Pepa calls Roberto’s house, again faking it being a call about business…
Ines (the godmother) calls to say can’t come to the party, have the flu. The happy dad arrives, with two ‘R’ pendant necklaces, one for daughter and one for wife. (so both mother and daughter have exactly the same ‘R’ pendant)
Isidro is the godfather, he is going to get the camera…
Roberto and Regina are in another cheesy kissy conversation, which gets interrupted when Pepa arrives with her daughter. Roberto turns around slowly not really willing to face whats behind him…
Reg: Hi, I am Regina, Roberto’s wife.
Pep: And I am Pepa. I am…
Rob: (interrupting) Pepa is an old friend of mine I ran into the other day and I invited her to the party…
Reg: Your daughter is so pretty. How old is she?
Pep: She turns one today.
Reg: What a coincidence! Your daughter and mine were born on the same day!
Pep: (ironic tone) What a coincidence! Although I can see your daughter has everything! She has a dad, a mom and an economic status worthy of envy! My daughter and I on the other hand, have nothing! Her dad just disengaged from us completely!
Reg: I am so sorry Pepa.
Pep: Well there are men like that. They don’t ASSUME their responsibility and abandon their children just like that! But… I am glad to share this moment with you all.
Reg :What about we let the girls blow out the candles on the cake together? That way we will let them both celebrate!
(Regina goes to get another candle for the cake… Roberto drags Pepa away for a moment and she hands her baby to Cata, saying to the girl ‘enjoy the party as if it was yours!’, Cata is taken aback with both girls in her arms…)

Isidro is telling Regina that Roberto himself designed the pendant he gave her. She is not surprised and says she is fortunate to have a man who loves her so much. Regina finds another candle but it is not same type as ‘Regina’s (I think she goofed and meant Renata). Isidro is taken aback at learning that Pepa and her daughter are there…
Roberto is dragging Pepa in living room and they are arguing not quite low enough to not call the attention..
Rob: Been looking for you for a year and you decided to show up here precisely today!
Pep: Yes!! Today! Because my daughter too has the right to enjoy a birthday party with all these luxuries and all these presents!!
Rob: NO, I don’t think you are here for that! With the check I send you monthy you can give your daughter the party you want!! What is it you are pretending coming here showing yourself in front of my wife??
Pep: For my daughter to spend with her father and sister the first birthday party of her life!!
(outside, Regina is telling Isidro that her daughter and Pepa’s daughter are alike, which makes Isidro uncomfortable. He tries to prevent Regina from going inside to look for a candle more alike Renata’s but she insists in going in herself…)
Inside,
Rob: All this time I have been waiting to get news of Roberta!
Pep: Precisely it was about that!! For you to fulfill your promises! To appreciate us!! To value us!! To miss us!! By the way, did you update your will as we agreed??
Rob: Yes, I did (Liar!!) Now you better leave!
Pep: Alright, I will leave. (Regina comes behind Roberto and is listening along with Cata holding Pepa’s daughter) But first I want to ask you to go to the hotel to celebrate the birthday of your other daughter! (Regina and Cata are stupefied)
Reg: Pepa’s daughter is yours?... (again Roberto slowly turns around with a hurt face) Is she your daughter, Roberto?? Tell me it is not true!! Tell me you have not deceived me!! Tell me, Roberto!! (she begins up the stairs…Roberto runs after her trying to get her to let him explain but to no avail)

Isi: I always knew you are a bad person!! I should have supposed you were not going to stay behind with your arms crossed!
Pep: Noone mocks me and my daughter… Not even Roberto, even as much as I love him!
Isi: Pepa, You don’t know about love. I don’t even think you feel it for your daughter. All you care about is the money and social standing!
Pep: Even if you don’t believe it, I do love that man. And I want him for myself! And I now my daughter is a good way to get my way!
Isi: you are not going to get away with it!
Pep: We will see. Because now that Regina knows the truth, she would be too dumb if she forgave him.
Isi: If you think you already won, you are wrong. Maybe Roberto will lose Regina but you will not have him either.
Pep: You don’t know me much. He will be mine… or nobody’s.
Isi: (showing her the way to the door) … Goodbye! (Pepa gives Isi a matches card for the hotel she is staying at, tells him to tell Roberto to come see her… if he doesn’t want more trouble from me…)

(Upstairs Regina and Cata are packing for themselves and the baby and Regina won’t listen to Roberto’s attempts to explain… if you loved me you would not have betrayed me… you destroyed my life and my dreams… but you won’t destroy my daughter’s… What happened between her and I was a mistake and it happened before I met you! / then why didn’t you tell me? / Because I was afraid to lose you. / You are losing me now and not because of having a daughter but for not having told me! … /Don’t destroy our family! I am stupid, I know! But I love you! Without you and without my daughter my life means nothing! / I can’t forgive your deception, perhaps Pepa and your other daughter will receive you! / I don’t a family with Pepa and that girl, I want to be with you and my Beba! / The is no room in my life for you anymore …
Isidro advises Roberto to give Regina time, and gives her the match card from Pepa
Isidro catches Regina and Cata, he swears to them that if Roberto had not told her about it it was because he was afraid to lose her (Regina). But Regina has to go… not sure where yet… (ok, if the are so rich, why is she driving a car more than 10 yrs old?)

At hotel, Pepa is waiting for Roberto but realizes she has no milk for the baby, steps out of room leaving Roberta sleeping in between pillows…(OUCH!! What a mother!!)
Er…
Regina ends up at Ines place… tells her what Roberto did.

Roberto catches Pepa on her way back with the milk, they argue again out in the sidewalk… Regina will never take you back!! Accept it!! We are the only family you have left!! / I don’t want to see you ever!! You don’t know how much I hate you!! / I on the other hand will love you till death!! Let’s go see your daughter! / For me you are dead already!! / IF I am dead to you I swear to you that your other daughter and your wife will also be!! / Don’t you dare, Pepa!! (he has a heart attack and she pushes him through the glass store window (what for?? ) she thinks he is dead and runs back to her hotel room to pick up Roberta and flee … Passing by him she seems to smirk a smile of satisfaction…

Later we see what seems like Pepa has broken into Roberto’s office, sees Renata’s doctor test report on her heart condition and Pepa begins to curse the kid… her own kid is crying hard… Pepa finds Roberto’s will, ‘damn you! You lied to me about updating your will!! Here it does not mention my daughter in your will!! It only says that when Regina’s daughter turns 25 she will receive your inheritance!! WHAT ABOUT MY DAUGHTER, YOU WRETCH?? I will take revenge on them where it hurts the most!!
At Ines place, Ines reminds Regina that Roberto has a right to stay in touch with his daughter. Cata turns back around against Roberto, Ines believes that Roberto did not her so he would not lose her or his daughter… Regina says he lost them both for good.

At least next day, Pepa is scanning the papers nervously, but does not find any announcement that Roberto is dead…
At the house, Cata has come back for some things and tells Isidro that Roberto did not come home to sleep, he is obviously with the other woman!!

In reality Roberto is at a hospital recovering…

Pepa was watching over Roberto’s house and follows Cata back to where she is staying with Regina… when Regina goes to take her daughter to the park in the stroller, Pepa follows her. Seems like Pepa hires a guy to steal Regina’s purse to make Regina run after him and create distraction so she can steal Renata. (But she must do it in record time because Regina is back just a few seconds later and Renata is gone without a trace. Not even Scotty could have beamed up the baby girl so fast). Regina goes crazy upset when she realizes her daughter was stolen… people walk around in ooh ahhh but don’t seem to do much to help her.

In the previews for ep 2, Pepa registers both girls under her name alone.

I have to say that at least in this first episode Margarita Magana did an outstanding acting job as Pepa… and I have to say I like what I have seen so far…except for that old song ‘Cuando me enamoro’… it seems like we are tuning to a very cheesy TVLand mexican radio version. Very accurate detail to have pagers and pay phones instead of cell phones 25 yrs ago. But rotary phones even at rich households? Ugh!
Looks to me like this will be La Mentira with the extra twist of stolen baby thrown in.

Teresa Wed 4/20/11 #21-22 Teresa gets some puppets... like she needs any more

And I'll begin with the new stuff:
“And this?” “Look! My new compu!” Mariano’s pissed that she took another gift from el licenciado guapo. “Is it another gift from the professor? Yes or no? Answer me! Yes or no?!” No, she says, but clarifies that it is not a gift (not that it wasn’t from him.) She says it is “una herramienta mas de trabajo.” Another tool for work. I suppose she’ll use that excuse until it runs on, on anything she can make it work for. Mariano is not pleased. “Pero, eso es un equipo muy caro Teresa! Quien te lo dio?” (But this is a very expensive piece of equipment, Teresa! Who gave it to you?) Teresa evades the question, then switched tactics. Yes, it’s important but it’s good for both of them. If it is hers, he will have one, too. She makes sure to add in, “Mi amor, yo siempre pienso en ti. Quiero que tengas mi compu.” She wants to give him her old computer. Teresa wraps an arm around her mama Refu, and reiterates the point that she wants Mariano to have her old one, it would help him with his studies. Both Refu and Mariano look unhappy.

At the club, but the pool. Maira: “I don’t even want to think what my life would be like without Ruben!” Well RuBigote-less. And that’s a pretty good start. She starts to pontificate about him with another woman but stops herself. “No, he’s. my. husband. What’s more, could you imagine the scandal? What everyone would think of me?” Genoveva, who she’s talking to, says “This is why I told you not to go searching (for another woman.) Above all, if you’re happy with Ruben, then treat him as he treats you.” (I believe. I think she said: sobre todo, que tu eres feliz con ruben, a le como te trata.) Maira agrees, but then goes to say how he is never around when she goes looking for him or calls. Gen says he’s a busy guy! I can only imagine how much trimming and care his bigote takes. Genoveva has busy days, too! “No, this is different,” Maira says. “And if I can’t be sure, then I can’t be okay with him. Presiento que otra. (I sense another.) I have to do something.” Gen: “Yes, of course. But first, calm down.” Maira needs to know where he is all the time. Yes, Maira wants to follow him every second. And if he is puttin’ the horns on her, whoosh! She wants to meet her rival! Watch out Espe. She’s lookin kinda crazy. Meanwhile, Gen looks like she is wondering if it’s too early for a gin and tonic. Maybe a Bloody Mary.

Speaking of Espe. She’s in her uniform in Pab’s hospital room—we know this because there is an extremely loud rhythmic beeping over the dialogue—and Pab’s freakin out. He wants out of the hospital. Espe tries to comfort him. He’s afraid of the side affects of chemo. She reiterates that they’ve talked about it, and it’s only for un tiemp-it-it-ito. You’re so brave and you’ll get through this and more. He says he is scared and he wants Mariano to be there when he gets his chemo. (I hear that and think, Mariano’s never gonna make it to class.) Espe’s not sure if he can but mom will be there. He won’t be alone.

Vecindad. Teresa and Mariano are sitting with a grey and a black laptop in front of them. She thanks him for the flash drive, she’ll use it a lot. She kisses him on the cheek but he’s looking like a sad sack. “And what’s wrong, mi amor? You don’t like my surprise? Or you would prefer a new one?” He thinks she could easily work on that one. Even el Licenciado said that, she says. She goes on to trash the computer she just gave him as a gift—but then says she loves that computer and wants him to have it and take care of it and use it as he works toward his career. “But it’s not necessary,” he says. He can do just fine without one. But she hangs on him, drags out her vowels, and says porfa and kisses him. (She throws in there that she doesn’t want her boyfriend to be without a computer.) He says gracias and that he likes that she thinks of him and his future. She clarifies, nuestro futuro. Because when he is an big doctor, she’s gonna be at his side. They may have to do things they don’t like, but they’ll be able to look back at all these things they got over to salir adelante (succeed.) They talk about him being a very important doctor, she’s gonna give him the strength to tackle whatever comes at him. Smiles.

Refu and Juana la Madrina are talking. About Teresa. And her gifts. Namely the cell and compu. (That word’s gonna stick with me.) Juana repeats the Teresa party line: they’re for work. Ref says, but they’re so expensive! She doesn’t like Teresa having things that her family can’t give her. She doesn’t understand this man! “Oh please,” Juana says, “you’re doubting this guy, again??” Refu sits on that, then says. “Okay, the computer’s for work. But the other night, Teresa came home with another blouse! She said that hers was ripped. “And you don’t think it broke? Where did it go? I want to show you a sign that Tere isn’t lying. Oh there it is!” Refu is actually leaning on the blouse and sees that it is in fact ripped. “Ay, bueno. Menos mal que es cierto.” Except, she looks like she is upset that it was actually true. Juana basically tells her to trust Teresa. She knows the values that you taught her.

Mariano is in his place with his study buddies Dario and Magda. Dario says how excellent it is that he has the laptop. He says it was a gift from his novia. La blonde Magda is trying to find/resend the photos from the morgue and is typing like a madwoman on his new compu. Mariano offers some drinks, water or coffee. Dario says he wants a refresco, Mariano says he doesn’t have soda. So instead of just having water, he goes out to buy one. So, Mariano is fetching Magda’s water when Teresa walks in the front door. Jaws spots her, and rather than biting her head off immediately, she asks who she is. Magda, you? TERESA CHAVEZ, MARIANO’S GIRLFRIEND.  Magda gives her the up-down stink-face.

Luisa and Arturo in his office. She is talking about Tere and the trouble that Rubigote-spawn is giving her. Art agrees and calls Aida spoiled. Luisa continues: It’s really sad to think that just cause she has the dough, she has a life of luck. Chicks like Tere get the shaft. That why Luisa is so happy that he’s helping Tere (cute little smile from el profe) and she wants to help Tere, too.  She hands Arturo a photo of her new car. He says it’s a good car. He’ll help her. Just trade in your car and he will pay the difference. “Pero… er… Arturo, estaba pensando y te juro me dan ganas regalar a mi coche de Teresa.” So wait, let me take a second and figure this out. She has a profe paying her way through the extra special university. She has an old bf giving her a new computer. She has a madrina who makes her completely unique and perfectly fitted clothes to wear. Her friend Aurura gave her a sweet house to house-sit. Her bf Mariano gave her jewelry, a flash-drive, and probably more I just can’t think of right now. And now, Luisa, who has already given her some clothes, wants to give her a car?!?! Esa hembra may be mala, but she knows how to work it. Arturo’s a little impactada, but thinking about it.

“Here’s your water” says Mariano. He says hi to Teresa, introduces her and Magda, again with the stink-I could care less-face. Teresa says she will go but Mariano asks her to stay. She offers to make him a sandwich while she waits. Mariano and Magda go back to their work. Mariano seems to be telling her that the cadaver had something wrong with his heart, and she says they were convinced he had asphyxiated—but I can’t hear very well because Teresa is murdering some tomatoes in the background. Dario comes back with his soda and Teresa is MUCH happier to see that there is someone else with them—namely a man. She’ll make an extra sandwich.

Back to Art y his hermana. He says no. There are other things more important for her. Luisa wants to share her wealth, she feels guilty having all she has, meanwhile people like Teresa—no, her el profe chimes in. You shouldn’t feel guilty for having money. Yes, she says, I should enjoy it, share it, and help others which is why I wanted to give my car to Teresa. Giving Teresa a car would cause more problems, says our oh-so-knowledgeable profe. Plus, car has its own expenses, namely gas, insurance, etc. Plus, it’s better to help people by giving them the ability to buy things like that for themselves. Luisa agrees. Too bad for Teresa, I bet she could have used the “it’s for work!” excuse on that one, too.

Ay, Maira and Gen again. They agree that Gen will follow Rubigote for Maira. Yeah. Sure she will.

Teresa is asking about Magda. Her parents live elsewhere, so Tere is asking if she lives alone. Mariano says no, she rents a room in a pension. Tere says “ella me cae muy bien” (she really liked her) and suggests they go out together the four of them. It’s time to say goodnight and Teresa makes a frowny-face. No me pongas esa cara! (Don’t give me the pouty-face!) says Mariano. Roughly translated. He kisses her and they go their separate ways. Before Tere gets very far she hears giggles and notices Cutberto and Juana talking. She spies.Cutberto goes in for the beso and Juana goes for it. Teresa is impactada! Madrina! Tere wants to know why she was kissing that filthy gossip. (pelador asqueroso. Gracias S for that clarification!) Teresa basically gets all up in Juana’s buiseness, calling Cutb a drunk good-for-nothing and saying Juana deserves to be with people with DINERO. The worse thing is that his drinking will suck all of Juana’s money away, which Tere says isn’t fair. By the end of the conversation, Juana is saying she hadn’t thought of all that and looking like she agrees with Teresa.

Aida and Yvonne walking around school. Aida says isn’t it interesting that Teresa has a new laptop the day after she made fun of her for her old one? Aida believes she knows who it came from…

Gen and Rubigote are talking in his office. Gen says she will keep her trap shut (Hah. Not likely.) She tries to find out about Espe and if he has an apartment with Espe. He denies. Then you’re free to be with me! She goes in for a kiss.

Cut to outside with his secretary. Mariano and his papa walk up. Mariano says this guy will be taking over the messenger service. He’s a great, trustworthy guy. I should know. He’s my papa! Secretary smiles.

Ruben says no to Gen. He wants a relationship without commitments. With her he couldn’t risk the truth coming out, he’d lose his marriage and he doesn’t want that. She promises that wouldn’t happen. He says think of the kids! If they found out, that’d be the end of their relationship. The second he brings up the kids, she backs off. She laughs, kisses his cheek, and just before she leaves says Ruben. "Nadie me quita de la cabeza que andas con alguien" "nobody will get it out of my head that you are with someone (ie sneaking around/cheating)." Corrected by S!
Class before Profe gets there. Teresa walks in and we see Ai-dumb has written something on the board.
“How brilliant is our Teresa,
Always getting what she wants
She brings a new computer!!
Did she get help from someone?
Why does she always know the answers to what is asked by
Profe Arturo de la Barerra?”
Big howling response from the class. Hah, Teresa will be the one laughing.

Secretary tells Rubigote that Mariano brought a new messenger. He cuts her off. Anythign else? Nopis.

Teresa asks Aida why she couldn’t just ask her directly. Paulo walks in just as Tere says, do you really wanna know who bought it for me? She’s just dying to tell Aida where the computer came from. Ay, duh, Aida. If you only knew it was from your very own boyfriend. Raul cuts Teresa off before she can spill. He tries the who cares approach. Aida says, no, please, go ahead. Teresa is about to when Paulo stands between them and looks at Tere like, pleeeeease don’t say anything! Just then Hot Prof walks in. He sees the board and decides it’s a learning opportunity. They make a mock court room. Teresa the accused. Aida the accuser. Teresa will defend herself. Prof can’t be the judge cause he’s accused, too. So they decide that will be Raul.

Juana is sewing. Cutberto is singing. She totally shuts him down.

Back in the mock trial class. The trial is whether Teresa and the profe have an intimate relationship and they are trading assets for.. erm, ass-ets. Where is the proof? Teresa says the “supuestas pruebas” (alleged evidence) are/is that she as a new laptop and she knows all the answers in class. Aida rolls her eyes. She begins with a nice opening: “En este plantea mente tan torpe e insostenible…” In this awkward and untenable mind… this person thinks that this is proof of intimate relations. [Addition/correction from S:
"En este planteamiento tan torpe e insostenible, se delata la autora aunque pretenda mantenerse anónima."
In this very inelegant/stupid and baseless/ unsustainable scenario/approach/exposition, the perpetrator/author (depending on which meaning of author Teresa was going for) gives herself away, although she attempts to remain anonymous.] Teresa says more lawyer-speak about the law and how the truth factors into all of this. “The accuser doubts my intellectual capacity. When the only way that I was able to go to school with you all, because I don’ have money, was based solely on my intellectual capacity.” Laughter in the classroom. The profe is grinning.

Cutberto: What happened Juanita? Why did you change your mind so quickly? I didn’t do anything bad. And we we’re getting on quite well. Juana: Yes. I made a mistake. Please keep your distance from me.

Med School: Aw, Mariano in a white coat. Presenting to the class. The prof stops and asks his name. She is pissed that he wasn’t at the morgue. Why is he presenting on a case that he didn’t see. No one does that in her class. Aw. Mariano is sad. How come Tere gets the hot prof and he gets a meanie?!

Tere in mock court: The accuser doesn’t even have one tiny shed of proof that the compu came from the profe. Even less proof that she has an intimate relationship with him! I ask you this: If I give you proof that it was someone else who bought me this computer (Paulo looks like he’s hanging on for dear life) would you change your accusation and stop bothering me?” Tere picks up Aida’s notebook and holds it up to the board. She has the same handwriting. Laughs from the class, Aida is embarrassed, Prof is proud, Tere is delighted.

Back to Mariano’s Mala Med Maestro: She’s still harping on him. His teammates stick up for him, saying he saw photos and he even convinced them they had the wrong diagnosis. She says that all docs could just look at pics and vacation in Cancun. Doesn’t change that he wasn’t in the practicum. Then tried to tell the students not to step in and save another student who is not meeting his responsibilities in class. Mariano is upset and she gives him a dirty look! Mean!

Profe Art: See ya’ll tomorrow! My class is for studying, and we won’t have any more of what happened today for the rest of the class. Aida and Teresa get into a shouting match about what went down, A: “Te sientes mucho, verdad?” T: “Haha. Yo soy.” Aida has to be held back while Teresa smiles. She leaves, sees the prof on his way out, just misses him and goes back inside.

Mar, Mar y Dar on their way out of class. Magda: It’s not fair! Mar: It’s my fault for missing the practicum. Dar: But you did work! We have to find a way to convince her. Mar feels bad that this is affecting them, too. They say not to worry. They will find a way to succeed.

Teresa sees Luisa from behind and begins the preparations for fake tears. Luisa asks what happened. Tere says she needs a favor. Sure, says Lu, but what happened? She cries, then says she won’t be working with her brother anymore, nor see him. She needs Lu to tell him for her.

Teresa tells Lu everything that happened. That Aida was the one who accused her. Lu tells her they will work everything out. Tere knows. She just wants to die from shame.  And, Lu asks, what did my bro say? He gave me the chance to prove my innocence, but still! Don’t cry, says Lu. Relax. Don’t worry. Tere says that it was Aurora that gave her the computer. Basically Lu says they will stick by her side and work it out. Tere says that if she keeps working for him, everyone will think that they are intimate and she will not let this hurt Arturo.

Paulo and Raul are talking about Tere and Aida. They get onto the subject of Tere and el profe. Paulo knows that Tere is not into anything with him. How do you know? Raul asks. I just know her, Paulo says. But he’s really rich, Raul says. ("tiene mucha lana" literally, he has a lot of wool.) Paulo knows, but he is sure she isn’t messing around with him. Then, Raul asks, who gave her the computadora? Paulo doesn’t know. Raul sees Aida and says, are you suuure? It wasn’t you? Paulo calls him loco. You think I would give her a computer after everything she did to me? He’s with Aida. She hears and runs to him all happy.

Profe is pensive and looking out the window. Luisa comes home. “Can we talk?” she asks. “Sure, what’s up?” “Teresa’s not coming.” He leaves the window. OMG, was he watching, waiting for her to come?! Luisa explains they talked at school and she won’t be working for him anymore [because of what happened.] Cara impactada de el profe guapo.

Teresa is opening a package of gifts from Aurora from Paris. She is barely listening to what Refu is saying. Hah, Aurora got Tere puppets (marionettes). How fitting. Mariano arrives. He is sad but Tere doesn’t notice, she tries to show off her gifts. Refu is the one who asks if he is okay. He says he is fine. Problem at school, but don’t worry. Teresa doesn’t seem to have noticed the conversation. She wants to show him more things from Paris.

Mariano is off to the hospital and Tere is going with him. Mom asks if she has to work. She says not today, he has a prior engagement with Paloma, his novia.

Prof and Luisa. L: What happens if the joke gets to the director? A: What would happen? Plus, he would make it clear. To the whole room it was clear that he wasn’t hanging that way with Tere. L: Good. You know who gave her the computer? Her friend, Aurora. A: I thought she was in Paris. L: Yeah but when she told her she didn’t have one, she made sure that Tere got hers. Something has to be done. It’s not fair. Their talk is interrupted by the arrival of Ruben. Luisa leaves. Oh, looks like Art called Rube to talk to him about the ish Aida pulled in class today.

Espe is at home and looks really worried. She drops a dish. She says she is worried about  Pablito. Big brother runs to his room and pulls out a wrestlers mask and says to give it to Pab. It’s the mask of the bravest wrestler in México and it will make him brave, too.

Ruben is apologizing for Aida. He wants Teresa to feel comfortable. Yes, of course, Profe says, but what Aida did could have very bad consequences. And you think this could affect you? A: Probably. And if so, I am not going to defend her.

Aida with Yvonne. Aida is about to go out with Pau and Raul but her papa calls her and asks if she’s in the house. She says yes and he tells her not to move. He’s coming home. Ruben promises that he will set Aida straight and leaves. Art calls Teresa. He gets a message saying her phone is off or out of service. He is going to go look for her—uh oh. At her house?

Pablito and his mama at the hospital. The doc comes in and says he needs her to sign some things. She leaves. Then, woah. Paloma comes in. Que the hell? She looks all official. Oh yea, didn’t she say she was going to start a charity or something?

El Profe is at the vecindad and Juana sees him. She introduces herself and he asks if Tere is home. Nope, at the hospital, she says. Double uh oh. He asks which hospital. She tells him which and he is on his way.

Johnny can’t forget Rosita. Espe says she knows how he feels. How do you know? he asks. She knows how he feels because he is her brother. (Really?) He will remember Rosita always and she will be with him always. He gets up to go to work (Chamba –slang.) Espe is looking for a present that she misplaced, which is why she is so stressed. She remembers where it is. The way she reacts, I would guess it is at the apartment that Ruben has.

Raul and Yvonne are dancing and Aida and Paulo are laughing and watching. Rube busts in and asks if they are all in the same class. They are. Then they will all listen to him.

Paloma is reading a story to Pablito. He enjoyed it. He asks if she has a kid. No, she says. Too bad, he says, she would make a great mama. Nope, she doesn’t have a boyfriend either. Why not, little Pab asks, you’re really pretty. Then she decides to tell some strangers kid the history of her almost marrying the prof—without getting into specifics. Teresa and Mariano are making their way through the hospital, Pablito asks her to read him another story. Mariano thanks Tere for coming with her. She puts her hand on the hospital door and pushes it open just a bit.

Part 2:

Lucky for Tere, before she can open the door Mariano sees the mean doc prof and runs to talk to her. Hah I think her name is Dr. Limon. She is sour! Though I’m almost positive she’s going to be fair with him by the end of this telenovela, possibly this episode. He’s trying to get another chance, she ian’t having it. But Dr. Ledesma comes up and mentions Pablito and his chemo and she looks a little thoughtful. Mariano would never say he missed it because he was helping a kid with cancer, but that’s probably why he missed class! Dr. Ledesma needs Mariano to calm down Pablito’s mother for him.

Paloma wishes Pablito good luck with his chemo and kisses his little head. Tere walks in. Face off!

Rubigote is lecturing the kiddies on what happened with Lic. Short version: Idiots. By going after Tere you went after Lic. One of the most influential people in this TN, er I mean, of all the lawyers in the country! It could not just affect you little twerps, but us, your parents as well! He talks to Aida alone. Rube is SO pissed because he needs Arturo on his side when he goes for the president of the colleague of notaries, he’s not gonna miss out on it for a stupid action of Aidumb! “Estas advertida!” You’ve been warned. She’s fuming. “Todo por la maldita Teresa!” is her response, once her dad leaves.

Teresa: What are you doing here? Paloma: I’m working! What are YOU doing here? T: You work in the hospital? P: Yes, I just started a little while ago. I volunteer. Is Pabllilto your family? Tere closes the door. T: Yes. And I don’t want you comin' round her no more! What a coincidence (Que casualidad!) that you started just when he came. Paloma swears she didn’t know and that he is just part of her rotation! But not to worry, she won’t come back here. Teresa begins to threaten her but she swears she had no idea and skedaddles, just as Pablito’s actual family shows up. Well, his mom and Mariano. Mom (what is that lady’s name???) asks who the woman was that just here? Tere says she is a volunteer who reads to patients and she was reading to him (in a very happy voice.) Mar says this is good.

Paloma, still in the building, runs into Arturo.

Tere talks to Ledesma about Pab’s chemo and Mariano’s help while he is there.

Profe asks if Paloma has a family member in the hospital. She says no. Then? I work here. I’m volunteering. Work for her future foundation. He is glad to hear that, glad she is doing that. He says he can help her if there are any problems. Thanks, but it’s all good, she says. She should go. She was glad to see him/say hi to him. (Me gusta saludarte.)

Espe calls Ruben and tells him she left a gift for her mother in the apartment. He says, great I’ll meet you there. She says nope. Gonna get my thing and go.

Tere opens the door and our hot prof is standing there. -Prof, what are you doing here? -I was told I could find you here. How’s your neighbor? –Better. But I don’t understand why you’re here. –I hope it’s not imprudent, but Luisa told me what’s up. We need to talk. –I know I should have told you face to face, but after what happened at school—you don’t know how hard it was for me not to cry in front of the class. –I’m sorry I thought it was the best way to handle the situation. –I’m more worried about you being accused of something so serious! She turns to (fake) cry, he almost puts a hand on her shoulder but takes it back. –Listen, I took care of it. Don’t worry. About me or you. –You should have seen the way they all looked at me, like the really believe there was something between you and me. –Eh, the most important thing is that you don’t let rumors affect your life. And that you don’t leave your job and the “confianza” between us, all because Aida said something on a whim. (Tere’s eyes are shooting back and forth cause Mariano must be close and coming back soon.) He says they’ll believe it is true if she gives it all up. She slyly checks out the door. –Yes, Lic, you’re right. Thanks to your words, I wont give up work and school. –Good. I’ll see you tomorrow in class and later in my office (despacho) like always. –Okay. See you tomorrow, like always. He almost leaves but she stops him to tell him she saw Paloma working in the hospital. He knows he saw her earlier. She still thinks I’m your mujer and carrying your baby. Why is that?

Gen sees Rubigote run into the apartment building. She knew he wouldn’t let go of this place. She wants to see who he is with.

Prof: Paloma will continue to think what she wants. T: It doesn’t bother you that she still believes the lie I told her? P: No. She’s not part of my life and neither is what she thinks. But if it’s important for you… T: No, no, no professor! It’s nothing. I said it for you, and so you wouldn’t suffer for this woman anymore.

Nighttime: Dr, Pab’s mama, and Mariano are talking about the effects of Pab’s chemo. They go to find Teresa.

Cutberto looks longingly at Madrina Juana’s window then runs into Armando. He’s in a pinch and needs money. He says he doesn’t have money, and hollering about Juana and leaves Armando looking worried.

Dr. Limon talks to Dr. Ledesma about Mariano. She wants to know his opinion. He raves about Mariano, she tells him the situation about the school project. He asks to see his works, which she admits she didn’t look at.

Espe and Ruben talking about how much they love each other. She is saying she loves him and kissing him and putting his tie back on and talking about marriage… grr argh.

Back to Mariano’s work and the two docs when Mariano enters. Woo! It is before the end of this ep that she makes an exception for him. Only because he was with Ledesma when he missed it. Smiles all around.

Back to Gen watching Rube. Oh it’s not Teresa! Who is it? She wonders and snaps a camera phone a few times, triumphant.

Teresa wants to celebrate the good news about his med teacher. (Aren’t those people so annoying? The ones who want nothing to do with you when you’re struggling but are the first to celebrate with you when it works out? Maybe that’s just me.) How will we celebrate? He suggests Cuernavaca. Saturday? Done. Kisses. I missed the end part of this conversation. Something about him giving her some gift in Cuernavaca? I could guess but I figured I’d ask. OH, duh. He goes into his room and pulls out the ring. That must be what they were talking about. She was saying she didn’t know if he wanted her to have it, but he said he did and would give it to her then.

Loan shark confronts Armando at his shop about the money, Johnny overhears. She gives him two days. Arm swears Johnny to secrecy.

Teresa puts on a dress from Paris that Aurora sent her and her padre walks in. She’ll dress like this all the time one day, she looks beautiful, the usual. She cant wait to see how Aida reacts when she sees her in that dress.

Mariano asks Johnny what’s up, what’s wrong. Johnny says he knows someone is in trouble with money, Mariano says then we have to help them! He spills it is Armando.

Aida saying she hates Teresa more every day. Teresa walks up and says “hola las dos!” and saying no hard feelings about yesterday. Aida asks about her outfit. She thinks it is fake or something. Tere’s all you don’t recognize un Jean Bonsoir original? (That might not be the right name! It sounded like she said Sean… dunno!) It’s the latest fashion in Paris. So now you’re gonna tell everyone Profe gave it to me, right?? Aida says no, then spills her coffee on her dress, on purpose. Oh, I would slap that perra! She doesn’t though. Aida spouts it was an accident, hah, and everyone will know she is a hypocrite, walking away.

Mariano shows up at the loan sharks store and begs for more time. She has bills to pay. Nope. So he shows her the ring and sees if he can pay with that. She nods.

Tere is telling Espe about Aida and changing clothes. Espe notices her name is Aida and thinks about that…She changes the topic to Mariano and Tere says they will be going to Cuernavaca again. He’s gonna give me something very special. An ring! And you, she asks, you’re not back with the married guy, right? She lies.

Back to Mariano and the evil shop owner. She will take the ring as collateral. If he’s not paid in a week, then the ring and everything in his house will be hers.

Gen shows up at Rube’s office. He doesn’t want any problems while he is going for the position of prez of the notarios. Not to worry, she’s his amiga! She shows him the photos. She is Esperanza, right? He tries to get the phone and she won’t give. He asks if she would show his wife, she says she only took them out of curiosity. (Sure.) And notes it is the apartment he bought for their affair. She tells him not to worry about the photos, they are safe with her, just like he is. I believe she then tries to black mail him.

Johnny approaches Armando and offers him money. He says Rosita is worried about Armando. He says Johnny needs to get on with his life.

Mariano tells Teresa they have to postpone Cuernavaca. Tere wants to know why. He says he needs to do extra credit for Dra. Limon. Tere isn’t happy. He explains more and she says okay. They plan to go out to eat tomorrow bc Profe has somewhere else to be.

Aida swears to papa that spilling the coffee was an accident. She says fine. I only did it bc Tere said she would go after you. He looks like he trying to hide his satisfaction at that. She say if he ever cheats on her mama—he stops her and says don’t be ridiculous. And don’t repeat this to mama she is way too jealous already.

Tere asks how the dumping of Cutb went excitedly. She explains, and Tere tells her not to be sad. Juana says he filled part of her life that was empty, hollow (vacía.) Tere says no way, you’re not empty in any way. She will marry someone waaaay better!

Mariano tells Armando he talked to Gemma. Armando explains he borrowed it to get Tere whats he needed for school, he didn’t want her taking any more from the profe. Mar agrees and says he will work all Saturday and give the money to Arm.

Tere shows up at Rube’s office. He wants to know if she just said she would be in a relationship with him just to get Aida mad or if she would really do it. She says Aida says all kinds of thing about Tere, like the supposed affair with the profe. Do you believe her? No way, says Rubigote. Arturo would never have an inappropriate relationship. He then says how everyone knows she is beautiful, Arturo is no exception. Then he says something about him taking care of her, supporting her, she just has to decide what she wants and it can change her life. She says the prof already does that for her. He says, “pero no esta bien, poner todo los huevos en la misma canasta.” It’s not good to put all your eggs in one basket. In life, you always need a plan B, he says. Little does he know she’s reaching for letters from the Cyrillic alphabet to keep track of all her plans. He offers to help her, counsel her, he even has time tonight. Tell him what time and he’s all hers. She likes the idea of Rubigote helping her but she will tall Lic. She doesn’t want to deceive him in any way.

Paloma is sad that she can’t go back to see Pablito. She liked him, such a sweet kid. But alas, she can’t. He’s Teresa’s family. And she says she saw the prof. Did you ask him? Her prima asks. No, what’s the point? Teresa told me again not to come near them. Paloma says she has the right. That’s her husband! (I feel like I should like Paloma, and want her to reconcile with the prof, but I can’t. Not yet anyway.) She’s thinking of not returning to that hospital. –You can’t live you life just by what that woman says! –But I don’t want problems with Arturo. We’re actually in peace. Plus, she says, she liked what he said to her.

Teresa calls Aida and says why don’t we meet up to talk about you buying me a new dress. Aida says heeeeck no.

Cutb sees Juana and comments on her dress. She keeps giving him the cold shoulder and goes back to her house.

Pab’s mom is crying. She can’t watch him keep throwing up. Espe tries to calm her. She will go in and be with Pab for a while, she can try to calm down. Remember what Mar said. We have to be strong for Pab!

Johnny is trying to reason with Armando. Let him help. Johnny wants Armando to see him like he sees Mariano, like part of the family. He tells him to fetch something, and Johnny is thrilled he’s letting him help.

Tere meets with Rubigote who is waiting at a table. She gets right to it and pulls out the work she needs help with. Aida and Paulo are at the same place. Tere has told Aida to meet her there—she knows nothing good. That’s why she asked Paulo along. She sees them at the table. “She’s with my dad?!”

And there we end for today my friends! Woo, the double episodes produce looong recaps, hope they aren’t too drawn out for you guys... tried to make the second one shorter by paraphrasing but that produced less vocab. I'll find a happy medium soon, I promise!

Triunfo del Amor #95 4/20/11

  • Os and Max play with baby. Os refuses to be called Abuelo..it's Papito Vic enters: “you really love him don’t you” (Give the woman a prize for dumbest question of the year.) Max says more than his own life.
  • Os mumbles something about Xi and the house…I *think* he said so much that you would never let Xi leave this house. Something like that. Max mumbles about sacrificing for the baby.
  • Vic asks if Max would feel the same if the child wasn’t really his. Max=impacada/confundido
  • Xi is on the phone giving an anonymous tip. She knows who killed LindaHo Sortini. Bernarda watches from the car and Xi assures the operator on the other end of the line that she can provide all the information needed to capture the asesina. Her name is Victoria Sandoval and you can find the (planted) proof in her bedroom. Bernarda smooths her brow and Xi explains that Victoria Sandoval killed Linda because she was the lover of Vic’s husband.
  • Fausto painfully pulls jeans over his wound. He limps around his quarters and screams like a wounded animal. He swears to protect Maria Desamparada (chug *hic*) from all who want to harm her.
  • Burnie and Xi plot. Burnie hopes that the cops believe Xi. Xi hopes so too. The Sandovals have just sullied her reputation(?) and all she did wrong was fall in love with a man that deceived her, betrayed her (man, talk about pushing los botones de Bernarda.) She badmouths Maria. She’s not what Burnie thinks. Maria forced herself between Max and Xi. She stole Max’s love from Xi. Burnie, of course, does her usual “men suck” diatribe. They always take advantage, deceive and betray…and that’s why they need to be punished.
  • Xi says that’s exactly why she needs revenge. He took her baby away! Burnie asks if she really loves the baby that much. Xi says “I’m his mother! Of course I love him. All moms love their children.” oh.puke. Burnie says not all. If Xi really loves the baby, then Burnie will help her take the baby from Max. But, if Xi deceives her or betrays her…Burnie will put her in a world of hurt and become her worst enemy.
  • oh hilarious. Xi says she is incapable of betraying Burnie. Let’s pause to take that in…..
  • Gui is reading something classic. I am sure it fits in nicely with what he’s doing to Os. I didn’t pay close attention, but I heard “perdida” “leyes” “engañar” I also heard "suffered over her death." He is being very dramatic. There is a knock at the door. It’s Vic!
  • SMACK!!!
  • Why have you done us so much harm! She shouts.
  • It’s Os’s fault! Gui screams.
  • Vic can’t believe that after all this time Gui is still whining about Leonela!
  • The cops are at Casa Sandoval. They have a search warrant. They’ve received info against Vic (and it looks like we will have someone going to jail for a crime they didn’t commit. Have we covered all the TN rules yet?)
  • The search begins. Os’s tie matches the staff’s uniform. He asks them to go to Fer’s room and make sure she doesn’t know what it going on. They scurry off.
  • Back at Burnie’s the Grand Dama del Diablo wants to know where Fausto has been all day. Apparently Fausto has been praying that el Señor save unrepentant sinners (close up on Xi-devil) from harm. Burnie appreciates the intentions…but she wants to know what her employees are up do and where they are.
  • Eva assures Burnie that she’ll make sure Fausto is ever present. Burnie gives Eva a once over and a spin around and says that if Eva is going to be working at Casa Bernarda, she shouldn’t have such an “old maid” vibe. Burnie orders a makeover…from Rox. (Egads!)
  • Rox brown-noses. Did she call her "Ber"? (*burp*)
  • The Naco Contigent is trying to convince Maria of something...press charges against Xi perhaps? She is adamant that Xi will not come between her and Max. Their time is finally here! She doesn’t fear anyone or anything. I almost feel bad for her…she really doesn’t know she has at least 50 episodes to go…
  • Millie rallies the crew for planning the boda. They leave and Alonso is left to convince Maria not to be with Max. She asks him to leave so she can feed the baby.
  • Vic and Gui are still arguing. Gui can’t believe she knows about Leonela. Vic says there are no secrets between her and Os…(well, except for that pesky LindaHo thing.) Gui tries to convince he there are plenty of secrets. She doesn’t fall for it. She tells him to leave her family and her grandson alone. Gui starts up and Vic interrupts. It’s her grandson and if he dares to tell Max …well, don’t push her. She’s a mother and is capable of anything to defend her children. Gui asks if she’s capable of killing. She says yes. (She's gonna regret that.)
  • Gui can’t believe she fell for a guy as weak as Os. She should have given him a spin at her side.
  • Vic calls him scum and says that’s why Leonela left him. She leaves dramatically.
  • Gui is left with his mumbly thought bubble. Max is all that’s left in his plan for vengeance. Other bits I missed.
  • Fer sings to baby Osguito. Maids try to keep her from finding out about C.S.I. D.F.
  • Os convinces the cops not to search Fer’s room for now.
  • Fer believes the "we’re moving furniture for the baby’s room" BS.
  • Cops search Vic’s bedroom. And find the wig and sunglasses that have been conveniently planted there. Os walks in at that moment.
  • Burnie excuses Eva and Fausto. Eva offers to make a potent potable (jerez-sherry) for Burnie. Rox and Xi also invite themselves to the suggestion. Rox will have a double and plops herself in Burnie’s throne. Burnie looks a little annoyed. Xi sticks to her standard Vodka on the rocks. Burnie kicks Rox out of her chair.
  • Vic is home and finds out she’s being accused of LindaHo’s murder.
  • Burnie praises the sherry. Rox slams it back like a shooter. Burnie is appalled. (I find Burnie’s annoyance so much more comical than the Naco bunch.)
  • PJP enters this idyllic scene. He looks less than happy. I miss the half open shirts he used to wear. :-(
  • Os tries to convince the po po that Vic couldn’t have killed Linda. They are unmoved. Their orders are to bring in Victoria Sandoval. Os is going to call Oscar.
  • Vic leaves with the police. *My* interpretation of her look was “If you would’ve kept your pecker in your pants, this wouldn’t be happening to me.”
  • Os wonders who could want to cause them so much harm?
  • Burnie can’t figure out why PJP is always reproaching her for not being more compassionate and now that she’s helping out these poor women he’s mad.
  • First of all…he doesn’t think they are “poor women.” Burnie says they won’t be staying in the house very long.
  • Burnie says she’s worried about the way PJP left at their last conversation. She wants to know what’s afflicting him?
  • Fausto fills Eva in on Xi’s BSC attempted murder stunt.
  • Eva chastises him for seeing out Maria. Fausto says he’ll see her as many times as he wants.
  • Eva tells him to forget Maria. It ain’t gonna happen. She invokes the memory of his mother.(Truly Fausto is a pitiable character.)
  • Padre is talking to Burnie. religious debate. Pride goeth before the fall/I’ve put God first in everything (even murder) blah blah blah.
  • Padre blah blahs metaphorically and Burnie asks him to say straight up what he’s accusing her of. He says his job is to bring peeps closer to God. He wants her to make an act of contrition. Burnie is all “basta with this basura” and asks why he’s there.
  • Padre blah blahs about the vecindad and someone taking care of his daughter and grandson. Burnie asks him if he realizes it’s dangerous to refer to them that way. She blah blahs some more and says to call them by name. Padre says they are family. Burnie says it’s to protect them to. Don’t provoke gossip.
  • Padre asks her not to take away one of the few privileges he has: to call them by their familiar names (daughter and grandson.) He only does it in front of her and Padre Jer. Fine Burnie says. Someone can take care of he daughter. He wants Fausto for the job.
  • Speaking of whom…Fausto is dealing with not seeing Maria, but he says they have to be ever alert  since they don’t know the intentions of the two women in the house (Xi and Rox)
  • Eva says they could screw up their plans to exact revenge on Burnie. She leaves. Fausto pines and says “Maria Desamparada”
  • Maria dreams of her future with Max and the baby fusses.
  • Alonso brings Maria Juan Pablo (fils)’s first baby album. Apparently he plans to capture every last moment of this child’s life on film.
  • He professes his love. He loves her with all his soul! He can’t lose Maria!
  • Maria doesn’t love him. She only loves Max.
  • Alonso kisses her passionately!
  • Univision cuts to commercial!
  • Maria pushes Lonso away. He knows he’s a dumb ass.
  • Vic is giving her statement. Yes, I hated the beyotch, but I didn’t kill her. But the cops have good proof (the wig and glasses that trump eyewitnesses, alibis and DNA) Vic is all “puh-leaze, I wouldn’t sully my hands on that woman.” Oscar rushes in. He lets the po po know that he’s the lawyer and can prove Vic is innocent.
  • Er, Oscar blah blahs…real fast. Lots of witnesses that can testify as to where Vic was perhaps? Besides the stuff they found doesn’t even belong to Vic. In the background Gui has just rushed in….
  • …and let’s the cops know Vic was just at his house threatening her. What.a.bastard.
  • The police ask if it is true. Vic says yes. Oscar shakes his head all “shut up you dummy” like and the police inform Vic she will be spending the evening in the luxurious Cárcel Cabana.
  • Oscar protests. The cops say the lady will be detained. Gui grins, Os is impactado; as is Vic.
  • Maria asks Lonso what the heck is wrong with him. Why did you kiss me? ‘Cause he couldn’t contain himself. She can’t believe he did what he did. Their friendship can’t continue. She wants him to understand she appreciates everything he’s done for her and her son but her heart belongs to baby daddy (Max.) She’s going to be with him. He doesn’t think she can be happy with Max. She disagrees. They are closer than ever to having their love triumph over all and soon they will form a family (casarnos was NOT said.) She doesn’t want to hurt Lonso and doesn’t want him to suffer, but it’s best he leave.
  • Max has arrived at the comisaría (police station.) Vic says should could never kill anyone (weave yanking is more her style.) She asks Max to go home and make sure Fer doesn't find out about any of this. Max protests but Os and Oscar convince him to go. Max promises to be at Vic’s side.
  • Max leaves and Vic graces Os with another “if you had just kept your pecker in your pants” look.
  • Commercial break! OO! The 28th of abril---the 50 mas bellos de People en español! Must see that!
  • Max is on the phone with Cruz. He hates to bother him so late…yes it has to do with Fer. Yes, he’ll wait.
  • Nati and Millie FF >>
  • Napo, las Jarochas y JuanJo play lotería FF>>
  • Fer is having a nightmare about mamá. Max comes in. She asks about mom and he says she’s fine; Fer was just having a nightmare…and he has a surprise for her (ooo! ooo! I love surprises! I hope it’s a Cruz! Yay! it is!!!!) She has permission to go with Cruz to play lotería and eat tacos!! Cruz gets her settled in the chair and she asks about her flower. Oops. He forgot it, but he has is song with him! They leave and Max thought bubbles. His mother is right. Fer can’t know what's happening.
  • Vic in jail. Ok. There is no way I can do this justice. I know it is supposed to be dramatic, but I’m just laughing. I just don’t know if I have the snark reserves. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this much pressure recapping. Ok. Vic is entering the cell in fear of all the cooties contained therein. The current residents are bidding her welcome. (I’m having Tizzy flashbacks.) Oh wow. Vic is demoralized I’m sure. I wonder if this experience will inspire a few items in the company’s new Milagros fashion line.
  • Commercial break and Max voiceover.
  • Napo et al and lotería, now with added Fer and Cruz FF>> Millie and Nati come and play too. JuanJo wins and Nati gives JuanJo a kiss. DAMN!
  • Vic at the jail. What are you in for conversation. Cell mates argue FF>> CAT FIGHT! Vic cowers in the corner and thoughtprays: Get me out of here and don’t let Fer find out! (They let her keep her purse?)
  • Cruz is wondering if Fer had a good time. She said yes and confesses she hadn’t played lotería before. Cruz wonders how she can call herself a Mexican: never had a handmade tortilla, never played lotería, never had beans a la olla. He asks if she knows Garibaldi. She doesn't. They talk mariachi and she says she prefers to listen to him. Oh boy. He’s starts the whistling. Ok. I like Mi riqueza…but it’s getting a little old. The lotería crew continue playing as if there was nothing unusual about a lip syncing guy in the corner. Big smooches. Kids make fun. Cruz tells them to hush. The crowd demands another kiss.
  • Cut to cat fight. The guards break it up and ask who started it. The cellmates blame Vic. Vic denys it and they make fun of her. They are dragged away. At least Vic has the cell to herself now.

Cue the kayak

Avances:

  • Max and Maria gush!
  • Xi gloats!
  • Os begs!
  • Vic gets ID'd!
