Destilando Amor, 10/05/07 - Sick at Heart: Being Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired

Hilario explains that San Juana, who is stuck to him like burrs to a washed sock and who used to think of him as just a dirt-scratching rancher without a peso in his pocket, now sees that he's got money and fame and so now she's all over him like white on rice. Casandra smiles and says she hopes he resolves the problem soon, then tells him about the new campaign she's got him signed up for. Not that the money ain't grand, but it seems he's sure glad for a chance not to have to stick around, and says he'd go with his eyes shut anywhere she sends him.

Minnie and Fedra show up at Isa's that morning and give her Aaron's version of the events at the hotel in Tequila from the other night when he and Rod fought, and Rod nearly killed poor, innocent, well-meaning Aaron all because of Gaviota. Isa begs off. "Can't we discuss something more edifying?" Minnie's already spouting steam and she just rolls on along with her tale. "According to Aaron, Rod got jealous of Santovenia's serenading Mariana Franco; so not to be outdone he went and hired his own group.
The little husband-stealing hussy went back inside her room to draw attention to herself by making him beg for her, but she just stayed inside. This made Rod so upset and so jealous that he took it out on Aaron who was just innocently passing by and he almost drowned Aaron in the hotel's pool." Now, this little action tidbit gets Isa's attention.

At Montalvo Corporation Aaron complains to Oily that due to his cousin's interference he was unable to place his Turquesa product with any of the prospective importers on the tour and he will be bleeding corporate cash. So Oñate and Aaron figure the best way to secretly invest the earnings he'll be making from his doctored new product is to invest in worthwhile foreign stock on the London and Tokyo exchanges. They decide to set up some sort of respectable "stocks and bonds business venture" inside the corporation to launder the ill-gotten gains.

Rod calls the hacienda and speaks to James about making sure his BIL is spraying the right amounts of copper sulfate on the money-crop. James tells Rod how BIL was really insulted and told him off about always looking over his shoulder.

Sofia comes in the room. After James' and her earlier heart-to-heart blaming her phone call as the beginning of Rodrigo's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, she takes the receiver from him and apologizes to Rod for arguing the day of the tour through Montalveña. She says she doesn't hold any resentment on her end and he can count on her for whatever comes up. He accepts and agrees that brothers and sisters always argue and says it's obvious Dani must have mentioned his breakdown. As a joke he scolds her and the other women for opening up that special bottle of '66 Bordeaux of Amador's that he was saving for a special occasion.

Sofia insists that nobody there drank any wine because Isa only served them Strawberry Margaritas that day. In fact they were drinking so many she started mixing up whole pitchers of them. Rod asks why Isa would be lying about something like that and she says she (surprise) doesn't have the slightest idea.

Meanwhile, James saunters on over to the agave fields to speak to Frankie just as ol' "Panama Jack" finishes telling his crooked foreman that he wants the spraying finished by the end of the workday. The foreman says he needs at least till the end of the next day, but P.J. says it will be that day, period.

James, who is so not ready for prime-time, walks up to P.J. and asks how the spraying is progressing. After greeting James in his affected French, Ol' Panama elegantly declares that the workers are apparently so lazy that he's been having to practically whip them like animals to get the job done. James, like the wimp he is, stutters as he tries to explain Rod's position in putting James over him to supervise his management of the copper sulfate applications. James hems and haws a bit dishonestly about it's not being a matter of distrust in BIL, but that since James is the more experienced, Rod feels he needs him to make sure nothing goes wrong this time around.

Frankie apologizes for his rude behavior the night before. He says he has just been so stressed over the task of getting the project finished (Play those violins, maestro!), but since they are both working toward the same end, there's no reason for personal grudges. In fact, the project will be finished by the end of that very day. When wimpy James asks again if he's certain of that, Frankie stares at him like, "Dude what'd I just say?" Frankie, in a tone that can only be described as coolly and patronizingly haughty (dare I say supercilious, and I do) says he is "very. sure." James, true to whipped form, tucks his tail in between his legs and walks back to the hacienda.
======================

In his office that morning Rod's only been thinking of Gavi and that she must be back in her office at the CRT by now. He is desperately fighting the notion of calling her, but he's losing the battle. Finally he can't fight the temptation to call her any longer and asks Marguerita to get the CRT on the line. Just then Dani appears in the doorway and he rushes to tell Marguerita to forget the call.

"You should be on your way to the psychologist's office by now!" she says. He tells her to shut the door and to be more careful when she speaks or the employees will begin to think the company is being run by a madman (as if.....). Dani says it would appear that she's wasted her time trying to get him help since he's missing the session with Dr. Roblado.

Rod admits he is having second thoughts about going back for his second appointment. He fidgets and tries to joke about the fact that although she is a terrific choice, he just can't stand the thought of having to see her in her office, let alone enduring any more useless therapy sessions. Dani, though, asks Rod to make a real effort to give Dr. Roblado a fair chance at treating him. Otherwise, don't complain. Rod finally agrees, figuring that it beats sitting around the office thinking about Gaviota every minute of every hour.

At the CRT, Gavi has just returned. Nancy wants the juicy gossip about her and Dr. S. on account of all those birthday surprises he gave her, but Gavi insists to Nancy that nothing did nor would have happened with Dr. Santovenia during their trip. Gavi asks Nancy then for her messages and she's upset when she finds out that Rod did not call her. She tells Nancy, it's not like him but she knows him so well that she is certain eventually he will call her. Alonso overhears their conversation just as he starts to enter her office; he stops outside the office door and frowns that beautiful blond, blue-eyed "Him, again!" frown of his.
========================

Rod arrives late for his noontime session with Erika and she scolds him. She asks him if he's is still undecided about coming to her. He assures her that indecision is just another one of his many traumas. Nervously he begins to pace and says he's got so many of them, she'll probably need to list them all and tell him what she'll charge for each so, in the end, he'll know exactly what he owes her. She jokes with him about "discounts by the dozen" while she skillfully tries to get him to relax long enough to start talking to her.

Rod stalls for time, and jokes about where to sit to best tell his story and about it always being such a boring one for therapists that they always end up sleeping through their sessions. Finally Rod begins to unwind. She asks him why he is so skeptical and so reluctant towards therapy. He reminds her how he'd told her that he'd been to therapists in various countries abroad because of his inability to fall in love with a woman, and that none had been able to understand him. He actually thought he was cured because in an instant, he'd fallen in love. Rather, he says he should say, he became heartsick with love.

At the CRT, Gavi and Alonso decide to participate in a gourmet foods fair and to have a display where people can sample dishes made with tequila or from agave. The phone rings and Gavi looks anxiously over at it. Alonso tells her it is not Rodrigo. He sends Nancy off to the cafeteria to get them all lunch so they can continue working. He takes the opportunity to ask her if she's worried that Rod will stick to his promise not to call her again. Gavi tells him, though she doesn't look very convinced or convincing, that Rod always gets furious like that but always reappears.

Back in Erika's office, Rod tells Erika that he never thought he'd find a woman with whom he could fall in love or with whom he could make love. Then when he finally did find her, he fell and fell hard. He loved her so intensely that it became an obsession with him. She asks him what happened and if she got married. He says not at all. She never married, but now he doesn't know if she loves him anymore. He suspects she's falling in love with another man. So, in order to be able to live free from the mental turmoil it's causing him, he's decided to give her up. He needs to do it.

Erika asks him to start at the beginning. He agrees and begins to tell her in earnest how he met and fell in love with Gavi. Quickly he outlines their love story for her: how one day before leaving to return to London to finish his doctorate, Gavi and he made love together for the very first time. She was his first and he was her first and that they were to marry at the end of his year abroad once he returned. Then he explains how he had to return ahead of time due to the tragic death of his parents and had decided to finish his doctorate by correspondence, from Mexico; and how about this time he met Isa, his wife. He emphasizes he wasn't interested in her or anybody else. He was only planning on marrying Gaviota.

When Rod went looking for Gavi, he explains, he soon heard from the town folk that she'd gone to Europe as a prostitute. "You can imagine the hurt I felt to hear the only woman I'd loved had gone off with the highest bidder."
"--And was it true?" "--No, of course not." In reality, he says, she'd realized she was pregnant and she'd gone there looking for him to tell him she was expecting their child. Erika then asks him to tell her more about Gaviota.

Rod tells her how he met her when she was working as a jima cutter on his hacienda and how she spent the time harvesting throughout the region to earn her living. Once she realized that she was pregnant she thought it was necessary to come find him in Europe. He explains how she was taken in by the shady photographer that made her believe she was going to be a model and as she had no other means of affording the trip as she saw it, she accepted.

Rod continues that later on in their relationship he and Gaviota cleared this up and in fact the guy had been the connection for a network of white slavers that she managed to escape from. In the meantime though, whether because of his rage, because of his stupidity, or his jealousy, he doesn't know which (how about trying all three), he rashly married Isadora.

Erika asks what had happened to Gaviota and her baby. Rod thinks back to the day he got the news about his parents' death and the sound of the car accident when Gaviota was nearly killed and lost their baby. The memory of it is too much for him and he cannot continue the story. He asks for another session to finish it. Intrigued, Erika offers him a few more minutes to finish it right then and there. (Who can blame her, 'cause you gotta admit it's a pretty good yarn.)

Rod excuses himself and says just be kind enough to set up another appointment because he's got way to many worries and appointments to take care of this afternoon. She gives him one for the day after next and when he starts to consider the time he will have to wait to continue his therapy he works himself into a rage. He begins unconsciously to pace back and forth like a caged animal. "Why do I have to wait 48 hours?" "--Because that's the only time I have available." "--Why do you have to space sessions out so much?"

Rod starts to criticize and says that if that's the only time the doctor has free then she must be quite comfortable viewing the world form her desk as she does: psychoanalyzing, fixing and sending her patients happily home one after another; then leaving there for a nice cup of tea, a relaxing bath and peaceful sleep while he, on the other hand, carries his heavy burdens on his back, faces a disastrous afternoon, a terrible night and an early anxiety-ridden rise from bed the next morning, all because he has to wait 48 hours till he can get treatment again!!

Rod's sentences come flying out now. All that's missing is the spittle. "Perhaps you didn't fully explain the situation to my sister, because I told her I was desperate, that this was an emergency!!" (More pacing and yelling.) "In all hospitals in all parts of the world they treat emergencies as emergencies!! They don't tell their patients, 'You know what? COME BACK TWO DAYS FROM NOW!' "

Erika remains cool as a cuke through this whole episode and simply asks if she should cancel the appointment then. Rod says yes and starts to leave. She says, "Okay, I guess you won't be able to finish telling me what happened to Gaviota and your child." He takes the bait and walks back into the office. "Ok. I'm inviting you to dinner tonight at 8 at the Obelisk, since the session must not be in this office again." She sits down at her desk and pencils it in. "--Fine. Don't back out, Sr. Montalvo." "--I'll see you at 8 tonight," he answers and walks out the door.
==============

Across town in Gavi's apartment, Clarita and Jose discuss their children's happy and prosperous futures. Clarita questions Jose about whether Pancho ever explained why he refused to introduce her to his wife's family, then asks just when he is thinking to do the right thing by her. Jose tells her how he came by Sunday night and told her that he couldn't because they all think his parents are rich upper crust instead of an illiterate no-account like her. Clarita says she'd love to get him face to face and tell him exactly what she thinks of him. Jose says children are always annoying. Anyway, Pancho is asking that Mariana stays quiet about it all, so the family doesn't look down their noses at him. Clarita is offended and assures her that Gavi isn't a gossip. Jose says her son has his reasons for doing what he does.
=========

During lunch Minnie, Fedra and Isa are eating out with Pilar and complaining that Aaron and Rod, just like they warned her, are practically killing each other over that migrant jima cutter. Isa tells Pilar only she has the power to do something to stop it. Rod has overstepped the bounds and lost his grip, and Sofia even called to tell her about Rod's decision to get professional help from a psychologist to cure him of his "whore" since Mariana Franco is now dating her boss, Alonso Santoveña. Minnie and Fedra are definitely impactada since they weren't expecting that bit of news and they exchange a meaningful glance. It's hard to tell if Pilar, she of the stone face, is also impactada or just suffering through a momentary octogenarian episode. She asks for somebody to please explain what is happening.

Minnie scolds Pilar about not believing her before. Fedra smirks and adds that Mariana Franco only excluded them, the female family members of Don Amador, from the CRT's big gala the other evening in order to invite her mother, an illiterate migrant! Well, Pilar has been around this block more than a few times and she decides not to play that game again. "Great," she says. "Then just ignore her. If you don't provoke her, then nothing will happen. All I care about is that the family stays together and if she's going out with her boss instead, then it can only benefit the family." After Pilar leaves Minerva gripes to Fedra that Fedra's plan failed again 'cause the old woman didn't budge an inch.
================

Alonso reminds Gavi that she will have to realize the Montalvo women will have to be invited to their events again and they cannot count on Rod's help in controlling them. Gavi admits she's a bit timid over the fact, but cannot avoid it. Anyway, they've been quiet lately and she's says it makes her wonder about still waters running deep where they're concerned. However, she doesn't want to mix it up with Doña Pilar again and hopes they'll behave themselves from now on.

Rod comes back to the office after his session and asks Marguerita for any calls, in particular from the CRT. He's extremely disappointed that nothing has come from the CRT, i.e., Gavi. (This should be reassuring for us to know that he still loves her just as much as before, despite the nasty things Aaron's told him. There is hope for Burly Bear.) Just then Aaron sees Rod returning and jumps at the chance to annoy him just a little bit more over the problems he's caused between him and Mariana.

Aaron cheerfully tells Rod that he wants to use Mariana Franco's old office as a stocks and bonds outlet office. He wanted to check with him first since he knows it has "remained a sanctuary" for him all this time and so is still empty. Rod unconsciously crumples the paper in his hand and tells Aaron to do whatever he pleases. The office is no longer anything special and slams his office door shut. Aaron thinks to himself, "Oh little cousin, little cousin, how your heart is aching. I'm going to make you explode!" Just then Pam calls, supposedly trying to entice Aaron back.
===============

That night at the restaurant Rod is again noticeably agitated by Erika's absence. He looks at his watch repeatedly and remarks to himself that Erika is fifteen minutes late for their appointment. He asks for the bill. Erika has been there all along, though, secretly observing him from over at the bar. She tells the waiter not to take the check to him and has it put on her credit card instead. Then she sits down at his table, apologizes for being late and tells him she has an appointment right after dinner at 9:30. He asks if this is to be a therapy session in the restaurant after all and she pretends that it isn't. She says she just wanted to know the end to the story and has just enough time to hear it.

So, Rod finishes the story. He tells Erika how Gavi lost the baby in a car accident after escaping the bordello and that this began Gavi's own intense mental suffering as it took her eight months to recover, only to arrive back at the hacienda the very day after he'd married Isa. Painfully he admits that just hearing Gavi's tale as she told him tore him apart. (Hearing it again this time and from this point of view, I gotta admit, it was at least a 4 hanky scene. If I was still imbibing I'd be halfway through the bottle, 'cause this tale gets better and better every time it's told. --And darned, if Eduardo didn't make his momma proud!)

Afterward, he admits his marriage with Isa has been a failure from day one, still is a failure, and that he never loved her. Erika asks for more details about Isa. Rod nervously laughs and tells her Isa is part of the long list of traumas Erika will be listing and charging him for. He admits he thinks Isa is strange. (No, not so much, Hot-Rod.) and proceeds to explain how his marriage was supposed to work with the rules he imposed, and that despite their arrangement that there would be no intimacy she accepted his proposal, as crazy as it might seem.

Erika, who has got to be thinking to herself that this story is so weird it can only be one of a kind and who by now should be saying to herself, "Qué coinkydink, this tale might be actually part of a matching pair," stares at Rod and silently shakes her head.
==============

As for Isadora, she's back at the apartment and totally frustrated. Apparently she still wants to get busy with Frankie and has been repeatedly calling his cell hoping he wants some of that strange. Since Sofia keeps answering, Isa is forced to keep hanging up and we are left to wonder if she actually rememberd to key in the "anonymous caller"code before she dialed.

Acorralada #185 Friday 10-5-07 – AND THEY ALL LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!

Un milagro! No, not that Fidiota and can stand on her own two feet (which she can now), but that the end has finally arrived! On behalf of my fellow recappers, thanks to all of you dedicated fans who have spurned us on during some of the more ridiculous plot lines carried out by our boneheaded characters. Many of whom were characters we loved to hate. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm truly going to miss watching the show and waiting at the edge of my seat for Larry and Gaby to FINALLY get together (I've already given up on Yolanda and Rene). We'd love to read your opinions on the ending. . .Without further adieu, on with the show!

Jorge proposes to Sylvie on stage and she accepts! The crowd goes wild and chants for them to kiss. Finally Sylvie sees some action. How long has she waited? 184 episodes?

Roddy and Fidiota discuss her miracle. Fidiota asks Roddy, "Aren't you happy I can walk?" Duh. Roddy replies of course he's ecstatic! He was just afraid she might have fallen and hurt their baby. They then have a sappy moment about how much they love one another and all the things she wants to do, now that she can walk.

Max wakes up and sees Dimwit at his side. They confess their love to one another. He wants her to kiss him since he's always the one kissing her. She obliges and then he issues a grade of "C." He wants less affection and more passion. He then wants to apologize for a bazillion times. Dimwit thinks 199 should do the trick. More sappy music as he says, "Perdon" a bunch of times. Dimwit giggles delightedly. Has Dimwit ever laughed during this show, besides when Iggy got tied up by Sylvie? All is right now in their happy little world.

***WOO HOO*** Gaby is snuggled up in bed with a bare-chested Larry (who has finally graduated from his nickname "Lunkhead"). Gaby and Larry are trying to figure out who loves whom more. They can't believe they have actually made love and have Fidiota's blessing. Gaby points out Fidiota only approves of them being a couple, probably not being TOGETHER! At any rate, one of them talks about it being a dream. Larry then gets frisky, saying he doubts he could feel so many sensations in a dream and wants to test out his theory.

Roddy carries Fidiota downstairs and they are snuggling on the sofa. Granny M comes in and they tell Granny M they are celebrating. Fidiota stood on her own! "Tonight calls for a special celebration!" Granny M goes to find Nancy so they can cook an extra special meal. More canoodling on the sofa between Roddy and Fidiota, who are also professing their undying love to one another.

Larry and Gaby are still snuggling. He wants to stay the night, but Gaby's not so sure that's a good idea. "What would mama say?" Finally Larry brings up the "M" word. They decide to get married in six months, due to Octopus' death. "Six months it is," says Gaby. They lament they lost so much time fighting, but that will never happen again. Larry, who I may have to start calling Lunkhead again, wants to have twelve kids so he can have enough kids for a sports team. Gaby says he's crazy, with a laugh!

Roddy comes to the hospital and breaks the good news to Max. Max and Marshmallow are officially divorced. There is nothing keeping him from Dimwit now, aside from Dimwit's stubbornness. Roddy cheers Max on. "Keep fighting for her!"

Camila is shown to her cell, where she is going to have a roommate. Yolanda! Pobre de Camila, it's tough adapting to a life behind bars. Where will she wear all her scant skirts and midriff bearing tops? They talk about the irony. Yolanda tells Camila she (Yolanda) has a trial coming up and if she's lucky, she'll only have to serve a year. Camila, whose back is to Yolanda, has glycerin tears of true dolor coursing down her cheeks. Camila thinks she's going to get 10-15 years. For some unearthly reason, I actually feel bad for her.

Dimwit, now in her nursing uniform, pays Max a visit. He asks if she knows what he's holding in the red folder. Dimwit bursts his bubble by saying she does; Roddy told her. Max then goes on and on about his eternal love for Dimwit; there has never been another woman in his life that he loves as much as her. Even with all the pain, misunderstandings, fights, etc., he never stopped loving her. He then proposes, provided she's not promised to Doc V. Dimwit convinces him she and Doc V are simply good friends. Dimwit finally agrees to marry Max.

Puncho is doing pushups on the beach when a beautiful woman walks by. Puncho, doing what he does best, starts chatting her up and telling her how beautiful she is. She tells him she's there on vacation; her father is the governor of a Central American country (or something to that effect. Do Central American countries have governors?). He thinks to himself he may have found a new victim. Puncho tells her his family is in the oil business and, what a coincidence, he is also on vacation. Before you know it, they are making a dinner date and they stroll off arm in arm. With this being the last episode, I can only hope she's a scam artist like him. Wouldn't that be a hoot?!

Pobre de Lala. The police keep finding bits and pieces of Diablo. They are all sitting around in the Psycho Mansion living room; Fidiota, Granny M, Lala, and Granny DS. Fidiota suggests that it might not be a bad idea for Lala to sell her house and move in with them. There is plenty of room and they are all like family. Finally Lala agrees.

***MESES DESPUES*** per the scene of a boat in front of a sunset.

Marshmallow shows up to tell Max hello. Max tells her of the upcoming double wedding with him and Dimwit and Larry and Gaby. Marshmallow is happy for all of them. Marshmallow says she and Doc V have been in contact but they're taking it slowly. Max tells Marshmallow that Yolanda was sentenced to a year in jail, but will probably get out early on good behavior. Commercial.

Fidiota now has a bump. After doing the math, she's about six months along. I think Fidiota is talking about clothing. Whatever the conversation, it seems to be pretty boring. Fidiota and Roddy are still in love. "What a pity ChewKey can't share our happiness."

ChewKey is having her hair brushed at the manicomio and is sitting their glowering. The nurse gives her a magazine and as ChewKey is flipping the pages, she runs across a photo of "the marriage of international actor Larry Irascible." ChewKey admits to herself that Larry and Gaby deserve to be happy. A single glycerin tear of TRUE dolor runs down her cheek.

Marshmallow pays Doc V a visit. He is thrilled to see her. She tells him of their invite to Max and Dimwit's wedding, but she doesn't feel that would be prudent. He again asks when they'll get married. She replies "When the doctor tells me." They agree they'll get married in a month and seal the deal with a kiss. Doc V's mom and Godmum walk in and are thrilled to see Marshmallow and Doc V kissing. Que Dulce!

***DAYS LATER*** per the scene of the Miami skyline at night.

Max and Larry meet Yolanda who has been released from jail, just in time to attend THE WEDDING.

The wedding. Roddy escorts Gaby down the stairs and Fidiota escorts Dimwit. Yolanda finally got a dress and hairstyle that looks marvelous on her. She was running around with a disposable camera taking pictures. This is one celebration I wish I could be at. I wonder if the cast kind of celebrates this as the end of their filming as well. Emili-Oh and Camila are there to act as witnesses. Rings are exchanged, life is good. ***BIG HAPPY SIGH*** Commercial.

More toasting by Fidiota. Max and Dimwit on their honeymoon, toasting their love with champagne on the beach. Larry and Gaby celebrating their honeymoon in bed, making up for lost time. Larry says Gaby is the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. Gaby brings up how blind she was when they first met. Larry retorts he was the blind one for not realizing how beautiful she was. Good answer Larry! Commercial.

***THREE MONTHS LATER*** per the scene of a traffic jam.

Roddy is unglued. They are stuck in traffic and Fidiota is in labor. He is beside himself and babbling incoherently. Fidiota keeps telling him to calm down. This scene goes on for awhile. Fidiota calmly calls Dimwit and Gaby to tell them the moment has arrived. Gaby and Dimwit are not only excited about the arrival of their new sib, they are also thrilled Perfumes 'R Us is now the number one perfume company in the country. They gather up their purses and head to the hospital, calling their men along the way. We then have a happy family scene with everyone gathered around the hospital bed and Fidiota holding the baby. Roddy is trying to film them all with the camcorder, but from what I can tell, he's filming the tops of everyone's head or their ears.

The show ends with everyone crowded into the living room. Dimwit and Max have Maxito crawling around on their laps. Fidiota is feeding their baby with Roddy at her side, and Gaby is snuggled on Larry's lap. Life is finally good at Psycho Mansion!!!!

***THE END***

La Fea Más Bella #36B-38 Missing Recaps 17-20, by Kim P.

Missing Recap 17: Lola loses the battle

Fernando once again asks for the check and wants to know why F.I. has so much money. While Lety's writing the check she laughs, and I can't tell if she ever answers him or not.

Marcia is telling Alicia that she couldn't convince Luigi not to hire Jazmin. Alicia is not being sympathetic. Marcia rags on her, I think saying she knows how it feels to be cheated on or something like that, and sticks up for Lola. She may even say Alicia could never understand, but I'm really not sure, I'm just guessing because then Alicia tells her about PM and Omar, sort of like an 'oh yeah, well get this' kind of thing.

Jazmin is still on the phone to El Cheque and he's still nervous about Lola, but she needs the modeling work. I think he wants her to quit but she tells him no and to calm down. She says nothing will happen and she wants to be a model and the job at Conceptos is important. Luigi tells her to get off the phone and something about a novela. Irma walks over to her and tells her to hang up, then they both give Jazmin crap about yakking on the phone so much and to get to work.

Lety is on the phone down in reception talking to Tomas about Filmo Imagen. I'm not sure what they're saying, but as soon as she says "Tomas" PM perks up and makes a comment. Lety hangs up on Tomas and PM tries to get info about him out of her, but Lety isn't spilling.

Alicia is still in Marcia's office telling her about PM and Omar. Marcia is sympathetic. She says something about Lety that I don't get. Marcia's phone rings, it's Sara telling her she has a call. When the call comes through, apparently it's a prospective client, she tells Alicia she has a lot of work to do and dismisses her.

Lola is freaking out on the phone and I'm guessing she's talking to her ex because she's slamming stuff around. She then cries to Sara and Marta. Saimon dances by and starts talking about this new fab model that just got hired. Sara and Marta try to shut him up but he's clueless and tells Lola the model's a little bon bon. Lola hauls off and slaps him. Saimon wants to know why and she wants to know what about Paula Maria? Just then Lety runs up and asks Saimon to deposit a check for her. He reads it and asks her about Filmo Imagen.

Missing Recap 18: Troubles brewing

Fernando is talking to someone on the phone, I think about a camera. Lety comes in and he asks if the deposit has been made, which she affirms. She heads toward her office but he stops her and again asks her why F.I. has so much money. She tells him the original money was invested well and this is the proceeds. He wants to know who made the investments, so she 'fesses up about Tomas. He asks if she told Tomas anything about the embargo.

Marcia enters reception and Paula Maria wishes her Buenos Tardes. Marcia comes over and asks PM why she's with the company, is it to work or is it to get a boyfriend? PM says to work, and Marcia demands to know how PM could have an affair with Omar knowing he was Alicia's fiancé. PM asks if she's being fired and Marcia says no, she's considering her son and says something I don't get. Just then Omar the Oaf walks in and says hi to Marcia. She makes a rude comment to him about Alicia and romance, he tries to say something back but Marcia just says "si" in a disgusted voice and stalks off. PM looks sad or sheepish, I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. Omar says hi to her and gets on the elevator just as Saimon dances off. He dances over to PM and asks for his slicker and helmet. He says something about his mandible, I think he tells her that Lola hit him. She asks why and he tells her about the new bon bon. PM tells him his bon bon is the one who broke up Lola's marriage and is an enemy of the cuartel. She puts up her dukes like she's gonna slug him and he says he has to get to the bank.

Fernando again asks Lety about Tomas, did she tell him about the embargo? She lies and denies it and says he's just investing the money for her. He reminds her that only she, he and Omar can know about this. One more time he asks her if she's told anyone and she denies it. She then goes into her office and calls him Tan Divino.

Sara goes into Luigi's office to talk to Irma, who gives her a shoe catalog. I'm afraid I don't get this conversation.

The cuartel are in the executive lobby and Jaz walks in talking to Cheque on the phone. They hold Lola back as Lola yells at Jaz. She mentions Luigi and Lopez and her contract and says she's going to be a model. Lola and the cuartel laugh at her, then Lola and Jazmin trade insults. Sara once again busts out the RDC (that's Roller Derby Chick) and everyone now has to hold HER back. Alicia comes out and asks if there's a problem. Jaz says she doesn't have a problem but the cuartel does. She and Alicia share a laugh and Irma tells them Jaz only got hired by accident.

Once again PM is giving Saimon crap, but this time he doesn't care. Jazmin comes out of the elevator and Saimon drools. She tells him she got the job and he does a little happy happy joy joy dance, then hugs her, pissing PM off. They talk cutesy and he offers to drive her somewhere but she tells him her ride is coming. The cuartel exit the elevator and have to hold Lola back again. Lety makes fun of Jazmin and the cuartel chase after and watch as she greets Flaquito and gets into his car.

At Lety's house, Tomas is on her computer. She comes in and tells him he did well with the investments. They talk about something, I guess the embargo since she shows him the documents.

Fernando walks into Marcia's apartment and calls for her. He starts looking at the stuff in boxes when she comes out and asks him something I don't get. I think she asks what the consequences between them would have been if his parents had given the presidency to Ariel, and I think he replies that he would have cancelled the wedding, but then tells her he's just kidding. They then say stuff I don't get.

Tomas talks about the papers and the embargo and Lety tells him Fernando said not to talk about it. She locks the papers away in her trunk and tells Tomas that he can't say anything to anyone. They continue to talk about it I think, but I'm not sure.

Marcia and Fernando are kissing on the couch and he tells her he needs her. She says something about Lety, and I'm not sure but it could be she's asking if he needs her as much as he needs Lety (can someone verify?). She's kinda whining and it's kinda annoying so I miss a lot of it.

Tomas is upset and doesn't want anything to do with the embargo. Lety tries to convince him and they laugh about something. He agrees to do it and she reminds him that he can't say anything to anyone, especially not to her dad.

Marcia and Fernando are now in bed, she's asleep but he isn't. He's remembering when his dad turned the company over to him and he's worrying about everything. He can't sleep. He has a gorgeous chest.

Lety is writing in her diary. I'm not sure, but the shampoo commercial is mentioned. I'm not clear, but either she's telling her diary they had to borrow from F.I. to pay for the commercial, or she's telling it they're hoping the commercial will bring in enough revenue to get them out of the mess, or maybe both.

Next day Luigi is filming the commercial. A lot of people are hanging around. First they film a model in a shower in the studio, then they film at a waterfall. Fern keeps handling the model, who ISN'T Jazmin though I thought that's what Luigi hired her for. Next we see Luigi editing it. Lety is giving a voiceover during this whole thing, but I don't know what she's saying.

Cheque drops Jazmin off at work. Marta and Lola say rude things to her. Lola yells at Marta for some reason that I don't get. Saimon and PM are dancing in reception and Jazmin walks in and claps, then starts flirting with Saimon. Lola sees this and goes into full-on attack mode, but Marta holds her back. Jazmin asks Lola how she's doing and Lola psychotically says fine, fine, everything's just fine, then says something rude to her. Jaz heads toward the elevator so Marta and Lola decide to take the stairs so they won't have to ride with her. Saimon drools over her as she leaves, then turns back to continue dancing with PM, but she's no longer in the mood and throws his mac and helmet at him and threatens him.

Jazmin gets off the elevator in the executive lobby and says Buenos Dias to everyone. Alicia answers her nicely but Sara answers her sarcastically and wants to beat her up and Juana has to hold her back. Luigi comes in and bitches about Jaz being late. She whines and he cuts her off and sends her off. Lety runs out looking for Lola just as she and Marta exit the stairs (Marta is having a hard time catching her breath). Lety starts in with some problem, but I don't understand it, and they walk off.

Now Lety's on the phone in Fern's office, sounds like she's trying to get a loan. Fern's pacing (today he's in a tan outfit instead of his usual dark stuff and he really wears it well! But then I think I mentioned before I'm a tad prejudiced). She hangs up and I think they didn't get it. Alicia comes in and tells them the Licenciado of Banco Atlantico is on the phone. Lety tells her to give the call to her and she'll talk to him and Alicia objects because she's just an assistant. Fernando teases that maybe they should let Alicia talk to him since she has six semesters of finance at a very good school. Then he tells her to just pass the call on to Lety please. Omar and Fernando hover while she talks to him. I guess they get the loan because they do another Fern/Omar sandwich on her (MAN I wish I was Angelica Vale right then!!!), but this time it's a happy sandwich. Fern asks Lety something that I don't get and Omar leaves.

Irma is talking to Jazmin in Luigi's office and he walks in with a dvd. He says something about the commercial being perfect. Two other models come in and ask if they're being replaced by Jazmin. He tells them no, they are his premier models, and Jaz makes a face. He offers to show the two models his new commercial. They watch it on his computer and Jaz goes over to Irma and asks her to help her with Luigi because she wants to represent Conceptos in the new commercial. Irma ignores her. Jaz says please help me, but Irma just says excuse me and tries to walk past her. Jaz continues to try to talk her into helping and tries to butter her up, but she just says "con permiso" and walks off. Omar comes in to talk to Luigi, but Luigi tells him to leave. They talk stuff I don't get and Luigi asks him to leave again. He sees Jazmin and starts to drool.

Marcia and Alicia are talking in the executive lobby and I'm not sure of the conversation, so please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Alicia's whining about not having any money and is drowning in debt. Marcia comments about her dress (how expensive it is maybe, or that it's new?) and so isn't really sympathetic. I think she wants Alicia to pay her back, but Alicia tells her she has to maintain her image with good shoes and exclusive dresses. Marcia ain't buying tells her she wants her money tomorrow.

In the bathroom Sara and Marta are plotting something against Alicia. They look at something in a bag and cackle evilly.

Luigi is saying something to Irma while Jazmin is standing there staring off into space like a zombie. Her phone rings and she asks Luigi for a few minutes to answer it. Before he can answer her she answers her phone anyway and leaves the room.

Back in the bathroom, Marta is holding up a dress that looks a lot like what Alicia is wearing. Lola walks in and busts out laughing. Jaz walks in talking to El Cheque and Lola starts to make twitchy faces. Marta holds her back and they leave the restroom and Marta tells her to calm down. They talk about stuff I don't get but it helps and Lola calms down, but only until Jazmin walks out of the bathroom and then once again Marta has to hold Lola back. Lola calms down again and tells Jazmin that as long as they're both working at Conceptos she'll try to get along with her. Jazmin sees Luigi coming up behind Lola and starts crying and pretending that Lola is verbally attacking her. Marta and Lola look at each other like que the hell is she crying for and Luigi yells at Lola. Fernando and Omar walk by and Fern tells Luigi to straighten it out. Lopez also comes walking up and says something about Lola starting a scandal. Lola tries to tell him she didn't say anything, but he just walks away while Jazmin giggles evilly near the elevator. I guess instead of actually getting to model, Jaz's main job is going to be to usher guests to the presentation. Just them some people (I guess Bella Life people) exit the elevator and she takes them to the viewing room (yep, I was right). Luigi talks to Alicia and tells her that he's about to present his commercial to the clients. He then tells her it's a secret, though, and walks away, and she immediately gets on the horn to Ariel.

In the presentation room, Marcia and Fernando are talking. She wants to know why more people aren't there, is his family coming? He says no they won't be there and she asks the same question about Ana Leticia and Ariel. He says Ariel, are you kidding? I think he says something along the lines of that's all I need is him running around causing trouble. They sit.

Alicia is telling Ariel about the commercial and how it's being presented without a lot of publicity. Ariel hangs up and says some stuff I don't get, but you know he'd be twirling his moustaches evilly if he had any moustaches. Actually, I think he might be gloating that the presidency will finally be his.

Missing Recap 19: Ariel spreads his sunshine

Lola and Marta are getting reamed again for saying things to Jazmin that they never said.

Luigi comes out to present his commercial. He talks about the original music and a bunch of other stuff, causing Fernando to say in an aside to Omar that he should shut up and present it already. Marcia makes a comment about Jazmin, probably not a nice one since she actually sides with Lola on this, and Jaz notices them all looking at her. She comes over and asks Fernando if he wants anything. He says no, but Omar flirts and kisses her hand.

Lola is freaking in the bathroom with the cuartel. I'm not sure but I think she asks Juana to put a curse on her, but Juana replies that she only reads the shells. Alicia walks in and says the usual rude Alicia things. Lety tells them to ignore her (which they don't), PM insults her, and Sara threatens to attack her. Marta says something about her outfit that I don't get, and I think she answers back with something about cheap shoes. She calls them all ugly, laughs, and leaves. They plot her downfall.

In the lobby, Ariel gets off the elevator. He tells Alicia her dress is nice and she says thanks, it's a Chanel. Now you KNOW this is going to lead to something because Ariel nice? No way. Lety comes charging out of the bathroom not looking where she's going and plows into Ariel, making him drop his briefcase. She whines and apologizes, and he says something rude and leaves. Lola comes out and Lety whispers to her that Ariel is there.

We get to see the commercial.
Lety is still talking to Lola about Ariel and the commercial. Lola gets a call and apparently her ex-husband hasn't paid for the kids' school so they're being booted. Lola gets upset and Lety looks sympathetic.

The clients love the commercial. Marcia and Omar congratulate Fernando, when all of a sudden Ariel the Good Time Killer shows up. Marcia asks him why he's there and he wants to know why he wasn't told about the presentation. He gets pissy (as always) and he and Fernando trade insults. Luigi talks to the clients, who then congratulate Fernando and leave.

Lola is in reception telling Saimon and PM about her problem. Saimon threatens to beat Cheque up, but Lola calls him a desgraciado for hanging around Jazmin. He flatters her and she calms down, then they talk about their favorite restaurant, La Comidilla.

Missing Recap 20: Little Baby Seashells of Doom

Ariel and Fernando trade insults again. Luigi comes up, happy that the clients like his video. Fernando says something I don't get, possibly a dig at Ariel, and Ariel brings up the disastrous Benny Ibarra video (let it go already dude!). Ariel tells them he's going to find a way to prove that Conceptos is in trouble and leaves. Marcia kisses Luigi and leaves too. Luigi tries to kiss Fernando but he brushes him off, but he does tell him Felicidades. Luigi reminds him of the bet and calls him Queen of the Night.

Ariel storms into Fernando's office, then into Lety's. He demands that Lety give him a copy of the company's financial report. She refuses, saying she has to get permission from Fernando. He says he doesn't need Fernando's permission, he's Ariel Villaroel, a board member and shareholder. She still refuses and says Fernando's the President and her boss. He now changes his tune and gets all slimy and tells her to sit down. He starts trying to win her over to his evil plot, telling her it's better for her to be on his good side since soon he's going to be the President. Naturally this pisses her off, don't you dare diss her Tan Divino! She turns down his "offer" coldly. I think he threatens her because she says she'll take the consequences. He asks if she has a boyfriend, which sets her eye to twitching (someone should have told her about botox to fix that little problem). She says no and he says something I don't get about fidelity. Finally he leaves in a huff and she sinks back into her chair shakily.

Fernando, Omar and Marica are walking back to Fern's office when they catch Ariel coming out of it. Fern wants to know what he was doing there and he tells him he was talking to Fern's assistant. They both talk smack and the company's finances are mentioned. For a rare change, Marcia actually sticks up for her novio. Ariel tosses out another insult or threat, not sure which, and stalks away (is he older than Marcia? Maybe that's where she gets it from, it's a family trait).

Marta comes out of the bathroom dressed in a very cheap knock-off of Alicia's dress. OK, didn't you see that coming after Ariel commented on her dress? Anyway, she mimics Alicia's moves as Alicia flirts with Ariel. Ariel says something I don't get, gives a fake laugh and leaves. Alicia insults Marta, but she just offers her a bite of her sandwich.

Fernando, Marcia and Omar go into his office and Fern asks Lety what Ariel was doing there. She tells him he wanted information. He asks financial information? You didn't give it to him, did you? She says no, she didn't give him anything. Marcia leaves and Fern tells Lety she can go to lunch.

Lety goes out into the executive lobby where the cuartel are waiting. Juana tells her she brought the shells, and they chat about them as they leave.

Fernando and Omar continue to chat in Fernando's office. I think Fern is telling Omar that he has to keep up his romance with Alicia so she won't pass information on to Ariel. Omar is NOT pleased.

At the restaurant Lety rolls the shells. Juana tells her that her love life and personal life are connected. Lety's not sure how that can be, though you know she's hoping this means something about Fern being hot for her but she doesn't say that. I think Juana then says something about a tempest, though I could be misunderstanding a word. She says something about Conceptos that gets the cuartel all oohing and aahing, then she says someone's going to change her life. Sara asks if it's a galan. They continue to talk about the possible meaning and could it be someone at Conceptos? To cover her wishful-thinking romance for Fern, she mentions Tomas. She's talking really fast, so I don't get the whole conversation.

In the executive lobby, Jazmin asks Alicia if she can recommend some place to eat. Alicia tells her about La Comidilla and tells her it's tranquil (?). Jazmin leaves and Alicia laughs about setting it up to ruin Lola's lunch.

Back at the restaurant, now Lola rolls the shells. Juana tells her something I don't get, but she says 'solo' and something about she'll have problems so I don't know if she's only going to have one problem or if she's going to have problems because she's alone. Sorry... Lola's kids come running up just as Jazmin walks in. Naturally the cuartel have to hold Lola back (there's a lot of that going on, isn't there). The kids say stuff I don't get and Saimon comes in, so I'm guessing he's the one who went to get the kids when they were kicked out because their school fees hadn't been paid. He starts flirting with Jazmin, and PM bitches him out about it and he leaves. It looks like Jaz is dumb enough to actually want to sit with the cuartel, though maybe she's just doing it to annoy Lola, I don't know. Irma tells her to go away and the kids go and sit at a separate but nearby table. Jazmin starts to sit at another table, but then gets up and walks away when Cheque calls her. She then returns to her table as Lety leaves to go to the bathroom. The kids are being brats at their table, nothing new there. Lety goes into the restroom and I'm not positive what's going on so I'm going to give you my guess and please correct me if necessary. I think she's thinking about what Juana said, and is thinking that Fern's the man who's going to change her life because she says 'Don Fernando' wistfully. Then she splashes water onto her reflection in the mirror (like telling herself to stop being an idiot) and her eye begins to twitch.

Now we're at Lety's house and there are tons of boxes all over the table. Erasmo and Tomas talk shop while mom brings in food and wants to know where to put it since the table's full. Pop tells her they're working, and something I don't get. My guess is that despite repeated requests from Fernando not to tell ANYONE about F.I., Lety has now hired her dad into the company. Then again, Fern did tell her she could do what she wanted as long as the company remained in good shape, so I guess what the heck, right?

Lety goes back to the table, but then tells everyone she has to get back to work and leaves. Jazmin starts yelling at the waiter loud enough for the cuartel to hear that she can't eat the food he brought her, either because she'll get fat and ugly or because it's only food for fat ugly people, I'm not sure. Lola is still freaking, the cuartel are still holding her back, and I'm tired of this nonsense and really wish I could move on. Then Cheque walks in with flowers and chocolates and makes goo goo eyes at Jazmin and Lola freaks even more (ok, this is SO old by now!).

Lety walks into reception and says something I don't get, but she's looking sad. Saimon says something to her about PM and Jazmin, then adds something about Lopez and Luigi and he and Lety share a laugh. Lety then says she has to go to Fernando and gets on the elevator.

More freaking in the restaurant and the kids run up to their dad, who's shocked to see them. He wants to eat with Jazmin but I think Lola rags on him till he agrees to eat with his kids, and pretends the flowers and chocolates are for them. Jaz gets pissed and leaves the table and calls him on his cell. He gets up and leaves the table to take the call and while he's gone the kids put either sugar or salt into his soup.

Lety is on the phone talking to her mom. I have no idea what the conversation is about, but Lety is acting kinda pouty.

Checque comes back to the table and the kids tell him to eat. He does and gags. He claims he's going to go talk to the chef and takes off after Jazmin.

Lety has now bounced from sad mode to dreamy mode. She walks into Fernando's office with a dreamy look on her face and says hi. He notices her look but just keeps talking about stuff I don't get, a check and work. She just stands there so he impatiently asks her what's up. I guess the look she's giving him is supposed to be dreamy and full of love but personally I just find it creepy. If someone gave me a look like that I'd be thinking of Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy, but I guess that's just me. Anyroad, she continues to give him this look as she remembers what Juana told her. She starts daydreaming about her and Fernando's wedding. She calls him Don Fernando and he tells her not to be so formal. She says ok... Fernando. He says something teasingly and taps her glasses. This wakes her up to him really tapping her glasses, asking what's wrong. She tells him nothing and I think he tells her to go get Marcia and Omar for a meeting.

Back at the unending nightmare that is Lola's storyline, Cheque runs into the kitchen where Jazmin is. I'm not sure of the conversation but the kids are mentioned. The kids are talking at their table and decide to run off after their dad, and Lola follows them. The kids almost find the pair in the kitchen, but they hide under a table. Lola and the kids come in and look everywhere, even under every table EXCEPT the table the two are under. When they aren't looking Cheque crawls out and gets away. Jaz starts to crawl out and bumps into a waiter who dumps soup all over her. Wa-wa-wa-wa... She screams while Lola and the kids all laugh cruelly. Jazmin cries while Cheque realizes she isn't with him. He goes back to where she is as the cuartel come in and begin laughing at her too. Cheque hands his wallet to Lola, she says something I don't get, and he agrees.

Back at Conceptos, Fernando, Marcia, Omar and Lety are in the conference room. I'm not sure what they're talking about, possibly how much they're hoping the commercial will pull them out of the dump they're in. Lety is taking notes and gives some info to Fernando. Fernando calls Alicia and asks her to come in while Omar calls Sara and asks her to bring some information in. Marta sees Alicia heading for the conference room and asks Sara if she can take the info to Omar instead. Alicia walks in and Fernando starts to tell her what he wants, but his voice trails off as Marta comes in. Alicia freaks out. Fernando calls Marta guapa and tells her she looks guapissima. Omar and Marcia are laughing, and Marcia tells her she looks bonita and compares her outfit to Alicia's. Alicia says Marta's dress is just a cheap knock-off while hers is a Chanel. Fern asks what did you say? Rrranel, rolling his r's. (Is this some kind of in-joke?) (Julie says - I think he's suggesting that Alicia's is also a counterfeit, just more expensive. When you buy knockoffs, the label names are often a letter or to off, like "Praba" or "Guchi." Or perhaps "Rrrranel.") Alicia gets pissed and repeats Chanel. Marta tells everyone where she got her dress and how much she paid for it. Fernando tells her it's divino. Marta walks out slowly as Fernando and Omar continue to flatter her and Marcia laughs (nicely, not sarcastically, which is a real change).

Marica and Alicia go into Marcia's office, Alicia yakking the whole time, complaining about what Marta's doing. Marcia loses her patience and tells Alicia to leave, she needs to work.

Next Fernando, Marcia, Lety and Omar are in Fernando's office. The phone rings and Lety answers it. I'm sorry, I have no idea what this is about. Can anyone shed some light?

According to the caption, it's now Days Later. Fern, Marcia, Omar and Lety are all pacing in Fern's office while the shampoo commercial plays on the tv there. They all look unhappy, I think because the commercial isn't playing in Mexico or L.A. and they aren't getting the publicity they'd hoped for. Alicia walks in and tells them Luigi is with someone from Bella Life. For some reason this makes everyone very happy and they say something about international. I'm guessing this means the commercial was playing in Europe or somewhere and was a hit, though how they get that from just the little bit Alicia said, I have no idea. Fern hugs Marcia, then jumps onto Omar and hugs him. Lety wants some action but he ignores her, so she manages to worm her way into another Fern/Omar sandwich, the kind I might sell my soul to the devil to have. Ok, I wouldn't really ever sell my soul, but I'd have to take a few minutes to seriously consider the offer before turning him down. Alicia asks if she should show them into the conference room. Lety says yes but Alicia just ignores her and asks Fernando again. He yells at her to yes, show them in.

Again with Jazmin and Lola, this time their in the Fea Conference Room sniping at each other. They talk stuff I don't get and honestly don't want to. Whatever they're talking about, Irma doesn't like it and excuses herself to go back to work. Saimon knocks on the door looking for PM, I think he wants her to get back to Reception. They talk about Saimon, then call him into the bathroom. He's worried Lola is going to hit him. I can't make out anything else.

Luigi and Ricky from Bella Life are in the conference room with Fernando, Marcia and Omar. Luigi is talking while stroking some dead animal on his shoulder (have they never heard of PETA?). Ricky says they love the commercial and now they want all their commercials to be done by Luigi Lombardi. Luigi talks about how BL is willing to contract with them and mentions a very large sum (I'm not sure what it is, but I get about 11 mil dollars plus change, can someone please verify?). Lety happens to be conveniently drinking water with her ears once again in hypersensitivity mode so we can have a humorous moment of her hearing the amount and spitting out her water in amazement. Fernando looks like he's trying to stay composed when you know he really wants to bust a move.

I Love Juan - Thursday 10/4 - In which Juan shows off his dumb tattoo and Pastor shows off his new art.

Hi folks, I've had a rather distressing week, however I did the recap and intend to post it sometime today. Later, Sylvia

Update: Here it is!

Dear readers, I had a little trouble with some of the dichos and phrases so please let me know if you have a better or more correct translation. Thank you.

Juan, immersed in his fantasy of impressing Paula with his new tattoo (hey, no mullet!), whinges like a baby at his reality...he is at the mercy of a gleefully sadistic tattoo "artist"/auto mechanic. (OK, reality check here, his tattoo is burning? Excuse me, but my mid-life crisis tattoo was nothing like his experience. Folks, there should be no burning involved.)

Pastor, Ivonne and I admire the nude of Juan, even though the head looks a bit off, kind of like a National Enquirer bad cut-and-paste, but then again who's looking at the head? Pastor is in a quandary, he took his masterpiece home but when mama saw it she ordered him to remove it or she would change the locks and never allow Pastor to enter the house again. Ivonne has an idea...

Paula shows up at the office in her white mini-skirt. What, is she actually working for once? Oops, probably not, here comes Ivonne in her hot pink more-mini skirt. They trade insults but Paula consents to talk to Ivonne regarding the subject of CL. Long story short, Ivonne reveals that they share the same shame and deception - she was also CL's lover, thus is Ivonne's revenge against CL revealed.

Fernando tells CL that no, he did not drive Ivonne home last night. She jumped out of the car in a snit and took a taxi. CL wonders why all women resolve their problems with hysterical tantrums, to which I say donkey, meet ears. CL adds that Ivonne is becoming a major problem for him. He advises Fer to never get involved with a neurotic woman. Fer scowls thoughtfully.

At the Cachón breakfast table Alirio presses Nidia for info on her past. To what was Yadira referring earlier when she said Nidia set the example of men in the bedroom? Nidia warns him not to offend her, her girls are simply jealous of their mami's happiness. He fawns over her and she pushes him away. He mentions that Gutierrez has been bugging him about Yadi. Nidia tells him to bring Gutierrez home for dinner that night and leave the rest to her.

Juan admires his average and uninspired tattoo in a car's rear view mirror, but he is happy with it and thinks the guy is an artiste. The pain will be worth it when Paula sees it. Kike warns him to be careful, people like Paula aren't impressed by the same things that they are. Juan reminds him that Paula wasn't born in a cradle of diamonds. Her father Samuel, may he rest in peace, was like them and also worked himself to the top. They exchange friendly insults. Juan to Kike - "Stingy, disobedient, zacatón (from Zacatecas?). Kike to Juan - "Dreamer, naive!"

Paula doesn't want to believe Ivonne's revelation but Ivonne convinces her. CL made loads of promises to her too, vowed to divorce his wife, hablablablabla, sound familiar licenciada? Paula asks why Ivonne is telling her all this? Ivonne claims it's because women should be united. (Of course this is a lie and not even a rightous one!) Ivonne concludes that she thinks Paula's affair with Juan is also a symptom, a symptom of Cesar Luis Farell. Paula clenches her fist as Ivonne smugly departs.

Alirio shows up and requests Ivonne's help. He's looking for the number of one "Gomez". Ivonne informs him that Gomez was fired. (Gomez must be the VP who was fired for no good reason except to hire Paula and her bazongas.) Ivonne looks the number up for Alirio.

Juan shows off his tattoo to passers-by in the garage. Surly Fer wonders why Juan and Kike are so late. Juan flexes his tattooed muscle in response and tells Fer to check it out. Fer and Juan spar good-naturedly, I'm sure it was very amusing however I didn't understand it very well. Basically Fer teases Juan and asks him if he plans to paint his hair green. Maybe he's accusing Juan of being an attention-getter. Juan says at least he has his own personality and is not just one of the series like all the rest. He calls Fer a chihuahua face.

Fer changes the subject and asks Juan about his studies. Juan says this subject makes him the color of ants (makes him angry) and he asks Fer for help with his homework. He explains that he's more or less the head of the class and needs to get his homework done. Fer says if Juan is the head then he'd love to see the rest of the class (losers in other words). Fer is impactado when Juan reveals that he only needs help with 35 problems.

Pastor, irritated that Kike has not yet arrived to work, instructs Marely to send Kike to him right away, he urgently needs his signature on some papers.

Kike arrives and passes an annoyed Julia. Mari tells him to report to Pastor pronto.

Pastor has Kike sign the papers but then he reveals his real reason for summoning Kike...Pastor saunters over to his wall where the gigantic nude of Juan is on display!! (OK, this painting in the HR Director's office is just bizarre, even by telenovela standards. Can you imagine the lawsuits to come out of this? But I digress...) "Sopas!!!" exclaims a muy impactado Kike. He tries not to look at it as Pastor very proudly leans against the wall.

Paula gets hysterical with Mari and says she was just another number on CL's list. Mari tells Paula to calm down and not forget the Ivonne is a complete jerk. Paula says only thinking of CL makes her blood boil. She vows that she will teach Farell a lesson.

Kike cautiously approaches Julia and asks if she's mad at him. He tries to apologize but she rebuffs him, and rightly so. It's best not to get mixed up in the middle of a dysfunctional on-again off-again relationship.

Alirio phones Gomez while Gutierrez (Guti as Alirio calls him) cackles at his side. Alirio tells Gomez he wants to discuss the subject of Farell Industries; can they meet at noon? Alirio and Guti high five it as visions of dollar signs dance in their heads. I know it would actually be visions of pesos but the cadence was all wrong so I stuck with dollar signs.

Fer tries once again to explain Math to Juan but all Juan can pay attention to is the mini-skirt walking up the stairs. Fer gets frustrated at Juan's inattention and throws down his pencil but Juan manages to wheedle Fer back by making a pathetic doggie face.

An excited Kike runs up and says he just saw something that's going to totally disgrace Juan's reputation. Asks a horrified Juan, "The licenciada is back with the boss?" "No, much worse," answers Kike, "have you seen the matraca (pain or plague?) hanging in Pastor's office?" Juan hazards a guess, is it a fuschia colored doll? (Una muñeca colór fucsia)

The next scene begins with an extreme close-up of Paula's shapely nalgas packed into her skin tight mini-skirt. She strides over to Ivonne and asks to speak to CL. Ivonne starts to give her lip so Paula brushes past her. Paula tells CL that she needs to talk business, however she soon gets to her real mission which is she wants to ask CL what he's up to with Juan.

Speaking of the king of Rome, Juan prances through the office displaying his tattooed bicep. Subtle is not a word in Juan's vocabulary. He blasts into Pastor's office and announces he has some serious business to discuss. He eyes his portrait as the office gossips gather outside to watch the action.

Paula tells CL that one minute he's ready to fire Juan and the next he's talking promotions so what gives? CL claims that he is admitting defeat. This sets Paula off because she just knows it's a load of bull. She says it's incredible how he applies his "generosity" to all his victims, Ivonne for example. Wasn't she his lover for most of the time she was his secretary?

Juan and Pastor create quite a scene for their onlookers. Bottom line is Juan wants to know how Pastor gets off hanging a nude painting of him in his office. Vivaldi begins playing in the background as Pastor claims the painting is not Juan, it is a representation of Juan. It is fine art that cost him a pretty penny. Juan is momentarily impressed, but NO NO NO NO NO, it cannot hang on Pastor's wall! Can't Pastor take it home? Past explains that his mama is not an appreciator of art and she has a particular aversion to this painting's model. They go round and
round (with Juan covering his privates) but Pastor will not budge.

CL and Paula continue their incredibly boring argument about Ivonne. Paula doesn't believe a thing he says because he is a pig, a little man. She tells him to butt out of her life. She stomps out and he smirks to himself.

Now Juan is on his knees pleading with Pastor to remove the painting. It's vulgar. The Vivaldi cues in again as Pastor ramps up for more pastor-logic. He denies the painting is vulgar, it's fine art, in fact he can imagine Juan's face in the Prado or the Louvre. Juan asks what will people think of him? Pastor, HR Director from hell, threatens to make copies and plaster them all over the company. Juan leaves, defeated but still showing his tattoo to the admiring females in the office.

Paula whines some more to Mari. She disses Pastor who no doubt spills his guts to Ivonne about everything.

Juan shows CL his tattoo and CL says it's simply divine, it's got real character. He says when Paula sees it it'll absolutely slay her. Juan is thrilled, that was his intention exactly! CL gets all confidential with Juan and tells him that Paula came into his office and forbade CL from helping or promoting Juan in any way. Juan is I'm-still-showing-off-my-tattoo impactado.

CL swears to Juan that he has no desire to be an apple of discord (bone of contention) between Juan and Paula. He suggests that Juan talk to Paula and straighten her out otherwise they'll have to forget their plans for Juan's ascension in the company. It appears that Juan doesn't quite know how to take CL's comments.

Juan wants to speak to Paula but Mari tells him to beat it. Both she and Paula are absolutely swamped with work.

Fernando's office phone (i.e. the garage phone) rings. It's Nidia all dressed up in her sexy garb for her phone call to her chomi chomi. Her excuse for calling is that she needs to talk to Kike. Fer says Kike's not around and quickly hangs up.

A frowning Juan returns to the garage. Fer asks him if he convinced his admirer to remove his painting of Juan, aka Michelangelo's David. Juan goes into a tirade against Pastor, CL and injsutice in general. He says he will fix his life right now. He picks up the phone and dials.

Juan calls Paula and invites her to lunch. Today. They need to discuss a couple of things. She agrees. Fer is impressed that Juan was able to turn his tragedy into happiness in one second. Juan explains the reason, it's love. He asks what does Fer know of love if Fer has never kissed a donkey, right? Fer has never been in love, true?Juan changes the subject and asks Fer Fer Fernandito for a loan. Fer tells Jua Jua Juanito "NO". Juan even tries his Poor Pity Kitty face but Fer remains firm; he says he is stone.

Nidia tells Yadi that Gutierrez will join them for dinner. Yadi whines a little and hopes her sacrifice is good for something. Nidia says the important thing is to find Kike and get him there too; what the eyes don't see the heart doesn't feel. Ah, so Nidia truly was looking for Kike earlier. Yadi is afraid Nidia's plot will only complicate her life further. Ya think?

Alirio and Gutierrez are waiting for Gomez at the restaurant. (At least I think they are waiting; did Gomez agree to meet them?) Alirio hopes that Guti won't fail him. Guti can't believe that Alirio thinks he would lose this golden opportunity. Alirio goes on to reassure Guti that Nidia no longer harbors any rancor against him for being a blackmailer. Guti suggests they put that behind them. Alirio goes into one of soliloquies...he agrees, when Guti wanted to abuse Alirio's loyalty and affection Alirio turned the other cheek, and now he invites Guti to share his table. He hopes Guti sees that with Alirio things are obtained by the good, by the bad no way! Guti says Alirio doesn't know how significant this is for him, to finally be able to enter through the big door of Alirio's house. (Except of course that it's Nidia's house, heh heh, and inviting him to dinner is only a plot to get Kike back on the program.)

CL advises Ivonne to stop wasting her time at work, for example telling stupidities to Paula. Ivonne plays dumb but CL is happy to refresh her memory. He tells her that her plot to discredit him with Paula failed and has only served to convince him that she (Ivonne) is completely desperate. "Wrong!" she exclaims, "and next time I'm not going to tell the licenciada, next time I'll tell Señora Monica, your wife!"

Juan hits up Kike for a loan. He has to have some money because he invited his girlfriend to lunch. Kike refuses, saying Juan is more expensive than a new girlfriend. Juan brings up the sore subject of Julia, commenting that she seems quite mad at Kike. Juan is very sorry for that but he still needs the money. He's in the midst of sweet-talking Kike when Paula strides by on her way to lunch with Juan. "Chinchas bravas!" Juan thought-bubbles while making one of his goofy-Juan faces, "and now what am I going to do?"

Chinchas bravas! = I need help with this one. It means "brave bedbugs" right? So does it mean something like "How annoying"?
codo/a = stingy
derrota = defeat
díscolo = disobedient, rebellious
manzana de discordia = bone of contention (lit. apple of discord)
matraca = pain, plague
nalgas = buttocks
nanay = no way!
Sopas! = Crash!, Wallop!
tener mala leche = to be a complete jerk (lit. to have bad milk)

Acorralada #184 Thursday 10/4/07 The next to the last episode!

This episode is very boring. The scenes go on and on, but are not worth recapping in detail.

Lala finds out about Diego and cries bitterly. She is comforted by Granny M and Fedora.

Diana waits for the results of Max's surgery.
While she is waiting in the hall, we see a pair of boots approach. You? she says. We have to wait for a commercial to find out not surprisingly that the pair of boots belong to Larry. Larry is sporting some strange sideburns and beard growth, which are clearly indicators of his Pirate role that they gave him two hours off for in order to film this finale. He is also wearing a piratelike costume: a black velvet jacket with a big flowing white shirt underneath (like Seinfeld's puffy shirt). Subliminal promotion for Pasion!

Diana tells him that Gaby still loves him. Sharon is in the manicomio, etc. He still loves Gaby and is sorry he was such a fool.

Gaby comes out to talk to him and they go round and round about how he didn't trust her and how can he really love her, but she really loves him, and finally she takes him back. Smiles all around. They go back home to meet with Fedora. She is happy for them. They repair to Gaby's room to do the deed. Kind of icky.

Roddy breaks in just in time to save Fedora from the burning house. He puts out the raging fire with a few stomps of his feet. It looks like it's back to the manicomio for Sharon. I hope they have better security in future. Diana only finds out about this stuff well after the fact, when Roddy calls her later.

Jorge proposes to Silvita and she accepts. Awww. She is persuaded to accept him by Mariposa, who thinks he's luscious. Silvia agrees. Later, they are all performing on stage at the bar in their flamenco act. Jorge announces that they will be getting married tomorrow. Silvia says she wants to get married with the speed of light. They kiss and receive the accolades of the audience.

Fedora is sitting alone in her wheelchair. She remembers that during the fire, she managed to stand up a bit, but Sharon knocked her down. Maybe she can stand up now. Yes, her prayers to the Virgencita have been answered. She slowly moves her feet from the footrests on the wheelchair and then slowly stands up. Then Roddy comes in and almost knocks her over. She reveals the good news to him. It appears that they are going to keep it a secret from everyone else for awhile. Looks like Paco is definitely out of the picture now. I suppose he can't have Fedora, because his perfidy in marrying Octavia was so beyond the pale.

Finally, Max wakes up in the recovery room, and Diana is there. All we need for the final episode is three weddings, I suppose.

Amar Sin Limites #57 – Thursday – 10-4-07 Pobre de Lidia!

Boutique: Arnaldo and Gaspar are still discussing if Julio could be cheating on Arnaldo. Arnaldo is cranky.

Café: Burgay is playing, "Let's Make a Deal" with Julio. Julio swears he's not interested. Burgay then tries Plan B. "What if we gave you money to hire a certain individual. We'd make it worth your while." Julio seems to be contemplating a deal with the devil. After all, he would love to expand his boutique.

**** I’m going to cheat and paste 5Ft's recaps here, she's more on top of what's going on than me.***

Mauricio's hospital room: Caty and Leo are leaving as Eva is coming in. Eva tells Mauricio he's got to get Azul to back off. Plus he's being moved to a house nearby. Mauricio doesn't want to leave his house, but Eva reminds him it's not really his. She tells him he's worth more to them alive than dead, but just for now.
Inéz hospital room: Azul laments that she'd been so busy with Mauricio that she forgot about her poor, beloved Tia Inéz. GSD says they should go, all this emotion is bad for her. She complains about Diego being with Eva. GSD says Diego seems like an honest person. Azul says he's on the side of "that woman" who infected Mauricio and threatened to infect Caty. GSD asks if that's what Mauricio told her. He has a worried and/or suspicious look on his face. Azul cries that this guy who she thought was "different" turned out to be a "patán" (a guy who will do whatever to get what he wants, but tries to come off looking like a gentleman) with no scruples.

***OK, time to suck it up and do the rest on my own!***

Café: Burgay starts writing a check. Julio is rather dubious about the qualifications of the "protégé," but once he takes a look at amount on the check, he seems to think whoever it is will be just fine.

Hospital: Diego tells us he's going to make a bunch of money, but not in the way Azul thinks. Azul is in the background talking to GCSSD about Mo. Dramatic music plays.

Boutique: Julio arrives and Arnaldo confronts him. Arnaldo says he's there for some reason, not because he wants a job. He then starts in with 20 questions about where was Julio, who was he with, etc. Arnaldo wants to know if Julio was accepted by society. Julio says no, but he got the money he needed for the collection.

Mauricio's hospital room: Eva and Mo are still threatening each other. Eva says Mo needs to control Azul. She also says Mo is surrounded by inept people. She wants to know why Mo is protecting Andres, I think. Mo threatens to tell Boris about Diego. The scene ends with Mo threatening to reveal the "real Eva Santoro." Hmmm.

Jail: Lidia has come to visit Piero. The guard wants ID for conjugal visits. Lidia gets snippy and says she's only there to talk. She's Piero's wife. "Funny," says the guard. "Piero's got a visitor. His wife!" Some predatory attorney overhears this and wants to talk to Lidia about Piero. Lidia wants to know if he's the attorney hired by Diego. "Negatory." "Are you Mo's attorney?" asks Lidia. "Strike two," replies the attorney. "I was retained by a woman who is very interested in Piero's freedom." Suspenseful music.

Mauricio's hospital room: Eva and Azul are partaking in a pissing match about what's best for Mo. Eva wants him out of the hospital and Azul wants him to stay. They stand there arguing until GCSSD finally tells them "Bastante!" "Enough! This bickering isn't helping Mo's condition. Take it outside!" They two head out to the hall and the bickering continues. Azul, on her high horse, tells Eva, "You may be more rich and powerful, but Diego loves ME!" Eva all but snorts in her face. GCSSD interrupts again to tell Azul that Mo wants to talk to her. GCSSD then tells Eva he's gong to talk to Azul, but for Eva to quit throwing her power around in front of Azul.

Jail: Lidia rounds the bend and sees Lucia talking to Piero. Piero looks nervous.

Hospital: Eva reminds GCSSD he has a contract to fulfill. I'm not sure what goes on with this exchange, but Eva trumps whatever dirt GCSSD has on her with, "Well let's not forget your daughter's health is at stake. We're in the same boat and I'm the captain!" Commercial.

Hospital: More of Eva's threats.

Jail: Lidia confronts Piero for having Lucia there. Piero tries to explain that Lucia rushed to his side a couple of times to offer her help. Since Lidia apparently didn't do anything to help him, he finally agreed to take Lucia up on her offer. Lidia starts crying, "It's hard coming to the jail, Mo's in the hospital and I couldn’t reach him." Boo Hoo! Piero accuses Lidia of lying to him. Lucia gloats that Piero has "turned against" the little trollop. Lidia yells at Piero saying something to the effect that Piero and Lucia deserve one another. After Lidia runs off, Lucia gets this great big grin on her face. She believes her little puppet Piero performed perfectly in exchange for his freedom. Piero looks contrite.

Mauricio's hospital room: Mo is trying to get Azul to make nice with Eva. Eva is dangerous. Azul says she can't believe Eva injected Mo with the whatever-it-is. Mo says the important thing is that GCSSD can now use him as a guinea pig to find a cure. Azul doesn't like the idea of him leaving the hospital for another house. Mo tells her as they speak, Leo and Aahndres are trying to find him a new place he can live with Katy.

Jail: Lucia is thrilled that Piero sent Lidia packing. Lucia wants to know why Piero told Lidia he (Piero) had accepted her help. He said it's because of Eva. I didn't get this exchange, can anyone help? At any rate, he agreed to go back to Lucia but said he'll never touch her again; he loves Lidia! Lucia gets mad and storms out. This whole situation has me confused.

Hospital: Eva tells Diego to find her a house by the next day. Diego tries to point out he's a chauffeur, but Eva thinks he's up for the job. She gives him a list of characteristics she's looking for in a house and says she'll see him early the next day. He can tell her what he's found. She then takes the car keys from him and has Ivan drive her. She'll tell Ivan her plans on the way to eat.

Hospital: Aahndres' eye is getting better. Now we can see both of his big brown eyes! Leo appears with Katy. I'm too busy looking at Aahdres to really pay attention to his exchange with Leo. It sounds like Leo is actually taking Azul's side for once which surprises both me and Aahndres. About the only thing I could gather from the conversation is that Leo told Aahndres that Eva and Azul are squabbling over Mo and where he's going to stay. I can't wait until Aahndres is healed. It hurts just looking at him all banged up after being beaten by a Smurf.

Mauricio's hospital room: Azul is waiting on Mo, hand and foot. The talk turns to his wishes should he die. He wants to set up a foundation in Katy's name so she can be proud of her daddy. He wants Azul to oversee the foundation and GCSSD to head up investigations. Azul doesn't want to hear him talk of such things. Katy comes running in and Azul takes her out to eat some real food after Leo fed her cake. After Katy and Azul leave, GCSSD asks Mo for the REAL reason he wants to leave the hospital. Suspenseful music.

Afuera the jail: Lucia stops Piero's attorney. She wants to know who Eva Santoro is. Is Eva another one of Piero's lovers. The attorney says he can't tell her anything because of the attorney-client privilege, but that Eva Santoro doesn't exist. He does say that Piero will never go back to Lidia. I didn't understand this exchange either. I think it has something to do with some "friend" who wants to keep Piero and Lidia apart.

Mauricio's hospital room: I have no idea what GCSSD and Mo are talking about, however in the end, GCSSD admits to being the one who took the toxin from the lab. Everyone is impactados! Commercial.

On the Street: Diego sees Azul feeding French fries to Katy. He looks pained.

Restaurant: Ivan offers to make Azul disappear for Eva's sake. Eva says no. She wants to fight her woman to woman. I guess she wants to win over Diego and rub Azul's nose in it. If Ivan kills Azul, then Diego will be miserable and love Azul even more.

Another restaurant: Lucia is having a meal with Piero's attorney. She'll pay him anything he wants as long as Piero stays in jail. At least I think that is what she's saying. Add this to the list of things I don't understand.

Casita de los Padres: Lidia is bemoaning the fact Piero is back with Lucia and it's all Diego's fault. Manuel blames Diego as well; now Manuel is going to lose his job. Mama wants to know how Manuel can even say, much less think, such bad things about her baby boy. How can he be so selfish to be thinking about a job at times like this.

Afuera: Diego is still searching for houses. Diego's attorney calls and says he won't be representing Piero because Piero is already represented by someone else. Diego looks confused. I'm confused.

Casita de los Padres: Mama goes off to get Lidia some tea. Manuel tries to convince Lidia not to be so hasty in dumping Piero.

Restaurant: Eva is discussing her plans with Ivan. Little does Diego know the house he's going to pick is going to be where Mo and Azul live together. Eva also wants to plant a bunch of microphones.

Mauricio's hospital room: Mo, Leo, and Aahndres are hanging around discussing how they are going to turn Boris against Eva and blame Diego for stealing the toxin. Mo suddenly looks healthier than he's looked in a long time. Everyone is gloating.

Credits roll.

Destilando Amor - Oct. 4, 2007 Rod starts therapy; Sofia gets an attitude check; Gavi rethinks her life; and Aaron still plays with snakes

EPISODE Oct. 4, 2007:
(for those who are reading along on the esmas.com official site, the corresponding summary is for 24 julio 2007)

* After touring the Tequila commission offices and labs, Gavi, Clara, Alonso and guests have lunch and watch the mexican folk dance show.

* Rod meets with Erika at restaurant.

* Isa calls Pancho to ask him to continue to see her. Pancho tells her he can't, Sofia is suspicious so he better stay away for awhile. Isa continues to tease, taunt and pressure Pancho.

* Rod and Erika order drinks. He's nervous and rambles. She makes a joke of having a tranquilizer gun in her purse. They laugh. She then assures him of her qualifications; she explains how Dani convinced her to meet with him here. he asks how to address her - she says however he feels comfortable - he rambles off suggestions - she tells him to call her Erika. He smiles and agrees.

* Pancho agrees reluctantly with Isa and hangs up. He is impactado when he turns and sees Sofia standing there hovering and scowling at him. He tries to change the subject and leave - she confronts him about the phone call with his "lover".

* Rod and Erika start to talk - about her analysis and when the session started - Rod continues to ramble and mumble with nervous energy. He asks her how long sessions last - she says 35 minutes more or less, depending on the client. He asks when he is to meet with her again. She says to make an appointment with her secretary at the office. He hesitates - no good for him. She tries to assure and convince him. Waiter comes over to take their orders - Rod continues to ramble with the waiter. Erika smiles and listens.

* Sofia tries to scold Pancho and get the truth - Pancho turns it around and scolds her for listening in on a private phone conversation and hovering over him like she doesn't trust him. He is insulted and forces her to take his cell phone to check for herself, since she doesn't trust him. He leaves - Sofia cries in anguish.

* Gavi sits alone and thinks. Alonso finds her and asks if she will join them for dinner. She says no, she's not hungry. Alonso sits with her - she rattles off about her childhood memories of life among the agave fields and in town, and her dreams. Alonso is fascinated. He asks why she didn't sign the Montalvo book. She explains that it's complicated. Alonso gives his opinion and the positive comments she's received from the guests. Gavi says that she doesn't want to rely on a man for anything, she wants to earn her own money and support herself and her mom, she loves to work. He talks with her about her possible transfer to a position in Europe, when the time is right.

* Rod opens up to Erika that he's married with one son. Then he starts to ramble off about his tequila business. She listens intently and gets him to explain all the intricate details about the tequila-making process. As he finishes the lecture, she says "time's up". He's disappointed and asks her to stay. She explains her rules and says that she'll see him at the office tomorrow at 12 p.m. She leaves. He grumbles about the appointment at her office and calls for the check.

* Gavi returns to her room. Clara brings her some dessert. Gavi isn't interested - she starts to vent her hostility towards Rod and vows to do all she can to make sure he stays away from her this time, starting tonight. Clara tries to calm her down and give advice to not make any rash decisions in anger. Gavi is furious and determined to leave tonight. Clara tells Gavi they will discuss the future plans in the morning. Gavi is still determined and goes to start packing. Clara stomps her foot and tells Gavi to stop - she has to stay because of Alonso and the businessmen.

* Alonso meets with the men in the lobby, explains that Gavi and Clara won't be joining them this evening. The men are SO disappointed. Gavi and Clara appear and they all start to smile and cheer, especially Alonso.

* At breakfast at the hacienda, James talks with Sofia and Pancho about Rod's change in administration duties. Rod has put James in charge of all the fields and crops. Pancho is insulted with the surprise demotion in duties. He vents his outrage and stomps off (like a little brat having a temper-tantrum). James apologizes to Sofia - Sofia tries to make an excuse, then changes the subject to Rod. Dani told her about his problem with Gavi. She feels guilty for siding with Isa and Minnie against him. James and Sofia discuss Rod and how rude and undermining Aaron was on the business trip. James thinks they should change the subject. Sofia brings up her mistrust of Gavi - James scolds Sofia for never meeting Gavi herself and instead relying on the opinions of Aaron, Minnie and Isa. James tries to convince Sofia to just meet with Gavi and form her own opinions.

* Rod returns to the condo. He makes small talk with Isa - about Ricky, his business trip. Rod takes an inventory of his wine collection and notices that his bottle of Bordello is missing and asks Isa about it. Isa stumbles and makes the excuse that the ladies must've drank it the other night and apologizes. Rod half-accepts the excuse. Isa leaves. Rod goes to his coat and pulls out a piece of paper - he unfolds it and reads it. He wonders where Gavi is right now, in her room or at the bar, and whether she's with Alonso. He laughs at himself for the jealous thoughts.

* Gavi is with the group, making a toast with tequila.

* James explains to Sofia how much respect Gavi had for the family while she was at the house with the tour group. Sofia questions about the mariachi band and the party - James explains to her that it was Gavi's birthday. James tells her how insulting she's been towards Rod; and how rude and awful Aaron has been. Sofia asks about Gavi and Alonso. James says that from what he knows, there's nothing there but a good working relationship. They discuss Rod and how hurt he is. James leaves Sofia alone.

* Rod calls the phone number on the paper. As he starts to leave a message, he hangs-up. He can't do that, he can't continue to bother Gavi. He rips up the paper.

* Dani and Erika talk on the phone about the restaurant session with Rod and when the next session will be. Elvis enters the office and asks Dani if she's talking with Alonso. Dani quickly gets off the phone with Erika. Elvis continues with his jealousy of her and Alonso. Dani assures Elvis that he is the only man for her - he's worried that his nightmare is a premonition like his mama Dolores periodically has. Dani gives Elvis a hug.

* Rod comes to the office. Margarita tells him that Clara decided to join Gavi and the tour group instead of returning to the city. Rod nods and goes into his office. Inside, alone, he laughs and is excited. Aaron enters. Rod informs his cousin that despite his efforts to undermine the sales trip, it was a smashing success. Aaron gets a parting dig at Rod before leaving the office. Rod grumbles and throws something at the door as it closes.

* Casandra is talking to SW on the phone. SW is in panic mode because Hilario didn't return to the apartment all night. Casandra agrees to look for Hilario. As soon as Casandra hangs up and starts to look through her rolodex for Hilario's phone numbers, Hilario appears. She scolds him for worrying SW to death, and her also. Hilario explains why he can't return to the apartment - and about SW, the leach, the stubborn donkey, she doesn't respect him or his friends and won't leave. Casandra listens and agrees to help him out - she comes up with a new campaign to send him on (for a new perfume). Hilario smiles and accepts the work.

* Minnie tells Fedra and Isa the latest gossip from Aaron about Rod and Gavi and the new tequila. Fedra grumbles.

* Aaron meets with Larry the snake - about a new plan to get money out of the corporation without Rod or Bruno or anyone else knowing.

Juan Q - 10/3/07

I had an event last evening and meant to post notice yesterday, but crazy work distracted me, but I have the show with me and as time permits I'll work on this through out the day. If work is crazy, it might be dribbles and bits so if you want the whole k-bang at once come back much later, but if you are a fiend and need a fix, even if small, well check back every so often and the doctor might just get you by. :) Cheers and thanks again!

OK sorry, quit ya a little cold turkey, so if you were jones'n, well alas the doctor failed, but hey, addictions are bad for us right?? Right??? :) Anyway, obviously work was nuts again, but then tonight my receiver wacked out on me, so I had video, but no sound, and no captions, so, not very effective for recapping! Anyway, I'll see if I can get this adjusted tomorrow for you. UGH!! I got it started though...

Ana asks Pau point blank you slept with him didn’t you. Pau gets a look but walks away like a whimp without spilling the means to mom. She can probably figure that meant yes.

CL gets out of the car with Ivonne. He asks Fer to wait for them. Fer punches the car and calls Ivonne a slut. He yells at the valet for watching him.

Juan has a conversation with Kike about his attentions from the teacher. He tells him this is his time. He tells him not to take her so seriously. Juan tells him not to be envious. Kike tells him to be careful with her and that he will be the brunt of this whole charade. Juan gets mad and wonders if Kike is against him. He says no, but

Pau tells her Mom to stop blaming her as if she planned all this. That Juan did his part to. Mom tells her she’s lost her sense of reason for using Juan to get back at CL. She says she needs to get rid of that imbecile and she needs to make herself feel better about all this. Mom is still not buying she says she can’t believe she’s justifying all this by claiming that she’s the victim. She essentially says one can never feel better by causing pain to someone else and this is not acceptable in this house.

At dinner Ivonne bugs CL for not talking. She brings up that he is mad because his honey bunny exchanged him for a chauffeur – the office is talking, and Paula maybe was interested in him for his money. He starts yelling at her at the table like the classy rich guy that he is. He says he’s going and she tries to bribe him to stay, but he leaves anyway. She threatens him again and he tells Fer to go but she is staying. Just then the maitre d’ comes out asking who will pay the check. CL decides he’ll have to fork over to save some face.
Alirio is with Gutierrez. He says he has it! Alirio tells him he’s a genius and that he’s justified his time in this cave.

Acorralada Wed 10/3/07

We're getting down to the good stuff now... in Wednesday's episode, Sharon escapes the manicomio and heads straight for psycho mansion so she can kill Fedora, who's all alone.

Emilio and Caramelo are enjoying their honeymoon in Puerto Rico when Max call's Emilio's cell and tells him that he's going to turn his sister in for arson. Emilio isn't phased by this news - if she's capable of doing such a thing, she should be punished.

Sharon arrives at the mansion. She's nutty as ever - her hair's disheveled and it appears that she's developed multiple personalities. She's both Sharon and Virginia, and we're treated to a scene where Sharon and Virginia yell at each other while Fedora looks on with a wide-eyed stare. Sharon's playing with matches and threatening to burn the place down as Fedora tries to figure out how she'll escape without the use of her legs.

Meanwhile, Diego and Max plan to meet at a beach to settle their differences. Gaby and Diana find out about the showdown and follow them to the beach and arrive in time to see Diego stab Max with a huge butcher knife. The police arrive (I love the stickers on the squad cars that say "city police") and Diego dives into the water and tries to swim away so they won't catch him. Too bad he didn't know about the shark infestation! The scene where Diego's being trailed by a shark fin is one of my all time favorites!

Diego's eaten by the shark. It's a gruesome scene. Gaby and Diana are impactadas. Max is taken to the hospital for the stab wound in his shoulder.

Next we see Camila preparing herself a drink when she suddenly drops it and says Diego's name. She has a premonition that something bad has happened, so she quickly throws all of her hussy clothes into a small suitcase, grabs her passport and a stolen credit card, and plans to go to Europe where nobody will be looking for her. As she opens the door, the police are there to arrest her for arson. Camila's a day late and a dollar short!

Sharon lights Fedora's bed on fire and the room is filling with smoke. Roddy and Sharon's doc arrive just as credits roll. Will Fedora survive? Tune in on Thursday to find out!
