Una Familia Con Suerte #225-226 Thu 4/26/12 Felices fiestas y festering infeliz.

*Telecom, Monterrey. Smoke wafting off the midnight oil*
Enzo: Why is this so hard? I thought mastering the telecom industry would be easy.
Haydee: You can do it!

*Casa Lopez. Twinkly*
Sebastián: Why was Pina so wretched before?
Pancho and Rebe: The devil made her do it. Let us catch you up on the history of Vice.
Seb: Well, I think she’s a real cutie patootie.
P&R: You should be cutie patooties together. Bring her to our posada. You’re part of the family now.

*Ana’s room. Calmly angsty*
Ana: Freddy’s so tempting again after the letter. That guy knows his way around a printer! Swoon! But if I wait for him to grow up, will I still be interested in a hot romance? I’ll probably be dominating the nursing home bingo games by then.
Lupita: What about bachelor number two?
Ana: Oh, yeah, he’s worn me down. If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one who won’t go away. But…I love Freddy.

*Casa Lopez. Pensive*
Tomas is shellshocked, remembering killing Napo, with a haunted expression.
Lupita: Yoo-hoo. Anybody home?
Tomas: I killed him.
Lupita: Qué?!
Ana: Who cares? He was a skunk.
Tom: Still! I never killed anyone before.
Lupita: Better him than you. Why don’t you take a nice safe security job at Avon, where they stick to embezzling and sexual harassment?
Tom: With my looks, I’m safer battling gangsters.

*Telephony. Cautious and sensitive*
Enzo: Wow, unbelievable about Napo. I’m too exhausted to get worked up, though. Sure you’re all okay?
Chela: Totally fine, aside from the arctic chill in the house. Bummer that you’re so overwhelmed you don’t even sleep, but can you swing by halfway across the country tonight for the party?
Enzo: (Are you freaking kidding me?) Um, I don’t know. Running a telecom is hard when you don’t know anything about telecoms.

*Avon. Schemy*
Jimena: Are you sure?
Auditricks: Yep. Everything’s ready.

*Pina’s office. Totally harshing her mellow*
Pina: Orchids from mi nuevo amors! Life is a gift, and so am I with all my bows.
Kari: Pina! Help me! Your bad kid won’t play with me anymore, and after we bumped little cars and everything! Make him!
Pina: Sorry, sweetcakes. No can do.
Kari: But I have blue eyes! And fancy family names!
Pina: He loves you not, Daisy Duke.

*Avon lair de Vice. Antagonistic*
Isabella : Thanks to you I’m fired, jerk! Are you happy?
Vice: I’ll be happier when no place in the world will hire you! Wait, I know this place where you can grope skeevy dudes for money. Shall I write you a recommendation?
Isa: SMACK! You slimeball! Defaming me just because you didn’t get away with your shady deeds?!
Vice: It’s your own fault you were getting it on with the prez.
Isa: Liar liar pants on fire! I can’t prove it, though. You’ve won. I’ll go away and stand in line for charity bread. Just admit to me that you fabricated this.
Vice: I admit Pancho is the most upstanding of all the standing-uppiest, and he would never do such a thing, and also that I don’t pay my taxes.
Isa: Thank you ever so much, unkind sir, for your cooperation.

*Casa Lopez patio. Increasingly bedazzled*
Freddy: Here, Abeja. Enjoy your romance, even though your puppies seem to have gone missing. ‘Sup, Temo?
Temo: Big party tonight! You should come!
Freddy: Wasn’t invited.
Temo: Adrian’s coming with his cute daughters. Meli who?

*Avon. Victorious*
Isa: Ha! Got his confession on a recording!
Jimena: Hee hee! Now what?
Isa: Give him a taste of his own medicine. Newspaper ink, that is.

*Pancho’s office. Getting’ stuff done…for once*
Pancho: Let’s throw a huge fun Christmas party for all the employees. I’ll be Santa Claus and hand out gifts, therefore making myself the star of the show. But you and Freddy get to do all the work.
Arnold, glumly: Okay.
Pancho: What’s wrong? Why won’t you tell me all your secrets?
Arni: Hola, Crazy Candy, and au revoir.
Candy: Pancho! Eek! Tomás killed Napo last night! And Vicente was willing to take a bullet for me!
Pancho: Whoa. How can he be so sweet to you, and such a low-down rotten nasty crook otherwise?

*Casa Lopez. Trying to muster cheer*
Tomás: I’m too traumatized to sleep. Let’s help decorate.
Ana and Lupita: Whee! Yes! You probably won’t die decorating!
Rebe: What’s wrong, Mr. Inspector Detector Hotness Projector?
Tom: I feel terrible, like maybe there’s something else I could have done.
Rebe: There wasn’t. You had to save yourself and Candy and Vice.
Tom: Yeah, but I feel bad about making Lupita worry, especially after the tragedy with Alex. But this is my calling.
Rebe: It’s too much to process all at once. Give it time. I recommend decoration therapy. It’s working for me.

*Arnoldo’s office. Traumadrama*
Arnoldo: I must focus intensely on this boring image of whatever on my screen. It’s super important. I am so busy.
Barb: Yoo-hooo!!! How do you not notice me when I’m draped across your desk like it’s a piano in a sultry jazz lounge? Look into my seductive eyes!
Arnoldo: I’m too ashamed. I did a bad, bad thing. I helped Vice frame Isabella.
Barb: Well, that killed my mood. You should feel terrible! You should have seen Rebe when she saw the article!
Arnoldo: I am tormented! Why haven’t you ditched me yet?
Rebe: I want to help. But first, how about you demonstrate the curriculum of the Arnoldo School of Kissing?

*Vice’s office. But more like bad kid in principal’s office*
Candy: Boo! How can you do this to my family? More importantly, how is your smear campaign going to tweak the holiday vibe at the family partay?
Vice: I can’t help it! I hate Pancho!
Candy: Well, okey dokey then. I’m not with the gondoliers right now, so anything you do is okay.

*Pina’s office. Love is in the air. Or maybe Step Sexy. No, love*
Sebastián: Wanna go to the Lopez shindig with me?
Pina: Sure. But I have to warn you, even New Pina still hates Candy. I will never get over that, ever. So we shall snub her.
Seb: Gotcha. I totally understand.

*Bethlehem/North Pole/Club Lopez. Festive, obvio*
This party is so happenin’, they even have a choir to sing while they set up and prep the food! I’m a little miffed I wasn’t invited. It looks awesome. Finally, it is night and the party is underway, band, dancing, fires, sparklers, food galore.

Chela: Boo. Enzo is too busy working to have fun partying and getting married.
Pancho: Give the dude a break.

Jimena: It worked! Isa got it all recorded!
Rebe: Yay! Problem solved!
Jimena: It’ll be in the paper tomorrow!
Rebe: WHAT?! She was just supposed to give it to your boss!

Candy: What’s up with you two?
Arnoldo and Barb: EVERYTHING, Candy. Everything, ifyouknowwhatimean.

Fernanda: Sebastián, you seem awesome.
Pancho: Yeah, he is. It’s great to have one person at Avon who works.

Ketita: You two are so cute! When’s the wedding?
Chacho and Sandra: Maybe after we have a baby.
Ketita: What? No, you should get married first.

Pancho: Oh goody, a microphone in my hand. These fools are never smart enough to hide it, and I love making long boring speeches and cackling with amplification. Everyone cheer for Tomás!

*Bar Bohemio. Not bohemian*
Freddy: Moms is totally fine with my declaration of independence.
Vice: No way. Pina isn’t like that.
Freddy: She’s way better now (that she isn’t around you). Plus, she has a hot new suitor.
Vice: NO!
Freddy: Say, I heard about the bad bad thing you did.
Vice: I hate Pancho.
Freddy: Well, I don’t care for Candy.
Vice: Guess what happened last night. I’ll catch you up, since you still haven’t heard even though no one around here does anything but gossip.

*Back to party*
Some singing tradition that goes on forever. But lo! Pepe and Moni have arrived! Long time, no see. Then, piñata time! I love this. It reminds me of my family’s parties. Except we let the kids go first and we don’t make out over the spoils.
Enzo arrives while the party is winding down and Doc Oc is saying he’s going to be in a drug trial.

*Elsewhere in house. Disappointment*
Ana: Here, barnacle. Torture yourself by reading this lurve note from my other lurver. It made me swoon, by the way.
Adrián: Grr. What about me?
Ana: Dunno.
Adrián: Eternal stalking it is, then.

*Candyland. Aka the mile high club*
Pants-free Pilot Candy: Fasten your seat belt and get that tray table in an upright position. You’re in for some turbulence. Thank you for flying Candy Air.

*Casa Lopez nursery. Lovey-dovey*
Pancho: Wow, what a nursery. You certainly decorated it with all sorts of décor. Let’s shop for more stuff.

*Candyquarium. Not too unlike the vibe Vice used to have at breakfast with Pina and Freddy*
Candy: Buenos días, mi amor! Here is your breakfast and newspaper!
Vice: Argh!

*Avon. Annoyed*
Pancho: Crap. Isn’t there any other news? Why is this the whole front page? Isa, what were you thinking? Share price will drop!
Isa: Sniff. Sorry.
Pancho: Oh, all is forgiven. Let’s get all up close and personal.
Isa: You’re the best. Too bad you’re taken; you would have been the love of my life.
Pancho: Ack. Well, good luck with everything.
Isa: SMOOCH! Wait, no! Uh, bye!

*Pina’s office. Sweet*
Pina makes plans on phone to see Meli at Christmas.
Pina: Sebi! I get to see my precious Meli Amors! Can you go with me?
Seb: Sorry, have to work since I’m the only one who does.
Pina: I’ll miss you!
Seb: I love you!

*Arnoldo’s office*
Pina: Freddy, wanna go see Meli?
Freddy: Can’t; I have to move.
Pina: Okay. Hugs all around!

*Avon. Confrontational*
Jimena: Pay up or you’ll be embargoed, Vice. Also, your accounts have been frozen.
Vice: This is all el verdulero’s fault!
Jimena: No, it’s yours. All you have to do to fix it is pay what you owe.

*Avon plant. Festive, in a cheaper less decorated fashion*
Pancho: Pancho Claus has arrived, ho ho ho! Presents for all the factory workers’ kids!
Seb: Whadda guy.
Pancho: If Pina’s gone, you must spend Christmas with us!
Vice: Santy Claus! You’re a mean one, mister Grinch! Who are you, elf?
Seb: Sebastián Bravo.
Vice: Pina’s…   … !!!
Everyone: Yes!
Vice: Tantrum! I’m leaving!
Seb: Did he seem jealous?

*Arnoldo’s office. Gossipy*
Arni: So, did the card work?
Freddy: Too soon to tell. Why?
Arni: Did you know I gave Ana kissing lessons so she could snag you? So I’m totally involved in your relationship!
Fred: Eek.
Arnoldo: Well, it worked.
Freddy: Did it ever.

Recapper out of steam. Condensing now.

Enzo is  really busy and Vice is mad and wants his attention and a huge loan.

Jimena meets Sebastián and is smitten.

Rebe invites her parents to her baby shower the next day. Not sure why they’re having it so soon, during the holidays, when the babies aren’t due for months. Something is up with MamaRebe and Rebe is worried.

Candy dresses like Wilma Flintstone and gossips with Arnoldo about her bedtime dressup games. They’re going to make a sexy calendar for Vice. Barb is annoyed that he hugs Candy so tightly.

Tomás is still out of sorts. Pancho claims he doesn’t like to meddle in people’s lives (ha!), but he’s worried about Lupita so he’d be happier if Tom worked at Avon. Tom understands, but believes in what he’s doing. He mentions he could have taken the money Salomé offered and lived a life of luxury with Lupita. Pancho is proud of him for doing the right thing.

Chela tries to sell Moni on having a baby. Moni isn’t ready yet.

Pancho and Vice fight, zzzzzzz. Pancho reminds Vice that officers who are in trouble with the law are suspended from their jobs. Candy disrupts their fight with Lucy Ricardo sobbing.

Freddy and Adrián both arrive at the house with flowers for Ana. We get some cockfight footage, just so it’s clear. They have words. And then they have a knock-down, drag-out fight. Ana, Rebe, and Chucha break it up and send them away.

Barb doesn’t want Arnoldo hugging anyone but her. Claro. Raimundo walks in as Arni and Barb are in deep liplock and he faints. When he recovers, Rai claims he and Arnoldo are an item and Barb faints.

Tomás, the newest newbie who doesn’t follow basic safety precautions, gets put in charge of some rescue mission.

Freddy moves into his new place and invites Pepe and Moni over. They’re stunned he isn’t living with Mommy anymore.

Vice cries to Arnoldo about his woes. They blame Pancho.

Candy cries to Chela and Rebe about Vice’s woes. They are sympathetic and try not to trash Vice.

Freddy tells Pepe and Moni about the fight and that he broke up with Kari. Are Kari and Moni not friends anymore? How does she not already know about this?

Adrián the leech is still clinging to Ana and claiming she’s being unfair although she’s always been honest with him and he only got as far as he did by being a pest until she gave up. Stop dithering and ditch him, Ana.

Raimundo demands an explanation from Arnoldo. Arnoldo gives it in heterovoz. Rai is distraught.

Pepe and Moni cross paths with Adrián in the driveway and note his bad mood.

Oh, hey, Candy has an even more Wilma Flintstoneish outfit. Vice’s ardor seems to be frozen along with his assets, though. He’d rather whine and blame Pancho. Candy doesn’t like this. Vice demands she choose sides.

Why is this show not over? These double episodes are too much.

Lupita and Tomás are still at odds over his dangerous work. Lupita cries about his new assignment but agrees to be supportive. The music is rather too dramatic for my liking. Upstairs, she disrupts another boring rehash of Ana’s love life with her crying. Temo joins and they all pillow fight.

Enzo arrives home all tired and Chela insists on giving him a foot massage. Enzo snuggles the baby. That baby is my favorite character right now. He cries less than the rest of them.

Candy cries to Pancho and Rebe. Pancho tells her to side with her husband.

The polis go on their dangerous operation to rescue a guy from a remote cabin. Lupita prays. She’s still sleeping in Ana’s bed. Did her room get turned into the nursery or something? The op is a success. Tom’s poli buddy thinks he’s a superstar. Tom calls Lupita and she’s relieved.

Baby shower. Good grief. Will this episode never end? This is the third party. Rebe’s mother has arrived.

Candy is in yet another Wilma Flintstone outfit and massaging Vice’s feet.

Enzo wisely opts to skip the baby shower, but unwisely lets Vice into the house for a chat. He tells Vice his problems are his own fault. Temo is sent to summon them to the party. Someone push that kid in the well.

MamaRebe tells Rebe she and pops are bankrupt and left with nothing.

Fin, por fin.

Abismo de pasión #34 4/26/12: A rapey snake, a strange encounter, a big surprise, a bored princess, and a save the day.

Old beans, courtesy of Marta:
Alfie turns it up a notch suggesting to hurry up the wedding and then the children will keep Princess Poop busy…
WHOA!! Hold your horses, mommy!! Damian protests that she (Alfie) is going too fast…
Alfie whines he is losing interest in his fiancee. Did he change his mind about marrying her? (FREEZE!)

New beans:
Dam tells Fina of course he hasn’t changed his mind about marrying Florencia, and he goes off looking for her.

When he and Flo connect she tells him he abandoned her and left her alone all day. (Am I watching Abismo or El Talisman?) Elvira Florencia pouts maybe it would be better if she went back to Mexico City. Yep, he says, maybe that would be best. “Que?? You want me to leave?” No, he just feels it was egotistical on his part to think she’d want to stick around when he doesn’t have time for her. She says everything would be different if only he’d accept the job in Mexico City. He doesn’t want to discuss that subject again and she should head back to the DF. “Oh you would just love that,” she whines. She accuses him of not loving her or wanting her around, of lying to her. He denies it, says he loves her and has never lied to her, but he thinks it would be healthy for them to spend some time apart prior to their wedding. “No!” she cries, flinging her arms around him. She never wants to be apart from him for the rest of their lives. He doesn't look thrilled and I think her new nickname is Clingwrap.

Elisa gets home and Paolo forces himself through the door. Elisa is not happy. She doesn’t believe that the door was open earlier, he came into her room, forced a surprise kiss on her and she doesn’t believe he has good intentions. She wants him to disappear from her life forever. “Lárgate ya!, Take off now!” He tries to apologize and swears nothing will happen. “Damn straight nothing’s going to happen,” she says, “because the little “friendship” we had is over.” He tries his fawning but she pushes him out the door and slams it behind him, her big bubble boobs heaving in overinflated outrage. You go girl!

Next morning Gael finds Padre L consulting with the crucifix on the wall. Padre says he wants Gael to go somewhere with him. Gael’s work can wait, this is very important.

Lolita brings Elisa a glass of that ubiquitous orange breakfast beverage, and Elisa tells Lolita that Paolo showed up last night but she told him to take a hike. And he’s not the only imbecile who came through the door. Alfonsina also came for a visit to supposedly strike a bargain. She would help papa’s economic problems if Elisa agreed to cut off all contact with Damian. Lolita thinks Fina must be worried about Damian dumping Flor for Elisa. Elisa says she would have nothing to do with that woman.

Pop! goes the Sleazel! “What do you want tia?” asks Elisa as she spies Orangina lurking behind the door. “Nada mucho,” she purrs fakely sweetly, “just a little breakfast if Lolita has the time.”

Padre and Gael are at The Only Hotel Inn La Ermita when suddenly Ingrid and Gabino bust out the door giggling and kissing into the hallway. Gab’s got her pressed up against the wall and they are really going at it. Gael gets a little bug-eyed. Suddenly Ingrid she opens her eyes. Yikes! Cara impactada! Gael supposes Ingrid is who they came to see. Padre says yep, but evidently this isn’t a good time. “Vamonos!”

They leave and Ingrid is obviously upset. No more nookie for Gabino today. She wants to be alone. He asks what does she have to do with Padre Lupe? “Vete, it’s none of your business,” she cries.

Downstairs, Gael is utterly baffled as to what they are doing there. Why should he care who Ingrid hangs out with? Padre says he just wanted Gael not to trust people so quickly, and to see what kind of people Ingrid is tangled up with. He wanted Gael to see that he (Gael) was wrong about her. (Gabino has snuck downstairs and is eavesdropping.)  Gael tells Padre this is all very lame. Padre says Gael had better get to work, they’ll talk later, and he escapes, his robes in a flutter. Padre, one word...fail.

Back at Casa Castañon Orangina tries to make nice with Elisa, saying papa wants to try to have a more normal family. (He always says, but never does.) Elisa tells her not to worry, Carmina doesn’t have to act fake in front of her. Carmina says with all the Paolo business she forgot to tell Elisa that Damian stopped by to see how Elisa was doing after losing Blanca. She asks if Elisa is interested in Damian because if so she should put a stop to it before it’s too late. Disgusto would never allow it with all their past history. Elisa says don’t worry, independent of what daddy likes Damian is engaged. “Fine,” smirks Carmina, “you know perfectly well that women fall in love with married and engaged men all the time. Like what what your did.” Elisa narrows her eyes and approaches the Orange Toxic Waste, “More like what you did. I’ll never forget seeing you kiss my father when my mother was still alive.” Zing!

La Anita Pro Ces A Dora is looking busy this wide-angle morning, but inside Paolo is anything but. He doodles. He yawns. He puts his feet up on the desk. He’s put out because the phone rings. It’s brother Guido, full of pride that Paolo is actually working. Paolo complains about all the work to be done. It’s tons of responsibility but he likes it. (Really, he should be wearing hip waders with all the manure that is building up in this office.) Guido says he’s also busy, lots of serious problems at work that he’s trying to resolve. Puhleaze, says Paolo, what money problems to do you have that marrying into the Arangos won’t solve? Guido huffs that he only wants Flor’s happiness. Paolo tells big brother it’s time to wake up and face facts, the wedding is in jeopardy and might not happen. If Guido plays his cards right he can have the black widow eating out of his hand. Guido is indignant but Paolo presses, surely Fina could loan him any amount of money he needs.

Guido’s not calling about his money problems, he’s calling to tell Paolo that Kenia is still desperately looking everywhere for him. “That chick is loca and obsessed with me!” swears Paolo. Guido says that’s what Paolo gets for sniffing around young girls. He’s got a very serious problem and he needs to come home and deal with it. “Sorry big bro, I’m way too busy at my new job to come back now or in the future!”

Vaya vaya vaya...Ingrid opens her hotel room door and who is on the other side? It’s the chica loca herself, Kenia! “What in the hell are you doing here?” When they spoke on the phone last night Ingrid told Kenia very clearly not to come to La Ermita! Kenia tells her so sorry if she’s messing up Ingrid’s plans, but she needs her. Ingrid scoffs, it’s not her fault Kenia got tangled up with a cad who dumped her. Kenia says she thought her life would be different from Ingrid’s. She really thought Paolo loved her, and would marry her if she ended up pregnant. Now she can’t find him anywhere, he’s left the country, and his brother won’t tell her where he is. Ingrid suggests Kenia tone it down and calmly ask for financial help. Kenia yelps that’s no good either. She investigated and the Landuccis are on the verge of ruin.

More yelling and blaming. Ingrid suggests Kenia go back to the DF and get rid of the little package. Kenia says she’s here and maybe she’ll dump her baby on the church steps, huh? Or tell Ingrid’s son what Ingrid is up to. Now Ingrid is really pithed, and says Kenia has no idea what she is capable of if Kenia gets in the way of her plans. “If you want me to leave then give me money,” demands Kenia, “And if you don’t have money then find some. I’ll be here for a few days.” Ingrid angrily says she’s got something to do and Kenia needs to get her own room. “And by the way, don’t you dare tell anyone I’m your mother.”

Over at La Pro Ces A Dora Damian asks Braulio what exactly is Enrique’s job? “Oh a little of everything, he’s one of the laborers, but his degree is in agricultural engineering.” Damian says then Braulio should put Enrique in the job that makes the most sense for his profession. Braulio points out Gabino doesn’t like people changing his decisions. “If Gabino asks tell him it’s my order.”

Enrique (aka Kike) has gone over to Doc Tovar’s office and is down in the dumps. Paloma asks if it’s because she is his secretary. Nopis, he’s got too many of his own problems to be worried about that. Doc Tovar actually seems quite pleased to see Kike, its been a long time since he visited dad’s office. Kike reminds dad that he said he was also Kike’s friend, is that true? His problem is about a girl he likes a lot. The bad part is that she’s not single, not married but practically. Dad asks what does she feel about Kike? The kid’s not sure, he thinks she likes him, but she’s about to get married. Dad says mucho cuidado, sometimes women like to play with men’s feelings. Gosh, sounds like dad knows about this firsthand. Dad warns Kike that mama is very interested in whoever called Kike a couple of nights ago. Uh oh, Kike doesn’t want dad sharing this with mom. Oh hell no son, but as long as she’s engaged Kike shouldn’t breathe a word of this to Blabamom.

Ingrid is late to work and gets a well-deserved reaming by Maru. (That was fun.) Flor shows up and asks Ingrid to announce her. “Who is calling?”  “Uh duh, his fiancee Florencia Landucci!” she sniffs. Landucci?? Ingrid is impactada as Paolo comes out to give Flor a big hug. She introduces herself and learns his name, Paolo Landucci. Her little cogs and sprockets start turning. (No, not “Hey that’s my husband!” as some of you might be thinking.)

Paolo complains to Flor that the only reason for his being in this wretched town just slipped through his fingers. Flor can’t believe that a simple pueblerina like Elisa is not interested in the infamous Paolo. She teases him. He gets mad. She says she’s going to kill time with Sabrina because apparently her Damian is indisposed.

Elisa tells Lolita that she’s going over to Paloma’s casa for a while. Lolita warns her to come home before  it gets too dark, walking around the cenote can be dangerous. Uh oh. Pop! goes the Sleazel! Orangina pops her head out from around the door and smirks at what she has just overheard.

Damian gets home from work and asks if Flor is around. Paolo says she stopped by the Pro Ce and said she might visit Sabrina. The phone rings, it’s an amiga for Paolo. It’s Orangina calling to apologize for how things went with Elisa the other day. She says maybe things can improve if he has a chance to talk to Elisa without interruption. Orangina reveals that Elisa is visiting a friend on the other side of the cenote and if he plays his cards right maybe he’ll run into her. Click. Paolo’s got to play it cool because Damian is behind him this whole time, glaring and listening. Paolo won’t tell Dam who it was and Dam heads out of the house, ostensibly to look for Flor. Darn, he probably thinks it was Elisa.

Hey, we finally get to see the inside of Sabrina’s salon. Flor is there refusing a haircut because she’s sure the styles in this backwater aren’t the latest style. I would have whacked her with the magazine but Sabrina doesn’t bat an eye. She asks Flor about Paolo and Elisa. Flor teases Sabrina about liking her uncle but then warns her about him. He only likes women who are kind of liberal. “Huh?” With distracted morals. “Huh?” “Oh for pete’s sake like Elisa Castanon!” “Ohhhhhhh right.” Kike arrives and is stunned to see Flor. He happily agrees to escort her home.

Out in the street Damian on horseback sees Paolo whiz by on his bike.

Ramona gives Elisa a warm welcome and invites her to sit and wait for Paloma to get home. Besides, she wants to have a little talk with Elisa. Elisa admits when she thinks of Blanca she feels very alone. Ramona reminds Elisa she’s got her padrino, Dolores, Ramona and all of her friends who love her a lot, including Damian. Ramona agrees that Elisa has suffered a lot or one so young, and she will probably suffer some more, but in the end she’ll get her just recompense. She laughs because she’s a witch and she can see the future. (So cute.) Elisa kisses Ramona and says she’ll go meet Paloma in the woods. No! Stay. Out. Of. The. Woods.

Kike and Flor have stopped for coffee and Kike’s still grumpy. He says he’s uncomfortable with what they are doing. She scoffs that they aren’t “doing” anything, but if he’s uncomfortable and doesn’t want to be friends she’ll leave right now. “No no no, wait,” he begs. She tells him not to make things so complicated and complains that there’s no privacy in this town. He has an idea.

Suddenly it’s dark in the woods where Elisa strolls the cenote. Pop! goes the Sleazel! (Are we allowed to have two?) This time it’s Paolo. “Que haces aqui?” she demands, “are you following me?” The big bad sleazel denies it, this is just a coincidence. He offers to walk her home and she tells him to bug off. He grabs her and says the world will know just what kind of woman she is. “Estupido!” she yells as she hauls off and slaps him. She brushes by him but he grabs her from behind and presses her against a rock. She yells at him to let her go but he keeps pressing, ugh. “Leave me alone degenerate,” she cries. He swears he’s going to make her his and tells her to shut up; he covers her mouth. Noooo!!

Damian rides by and dismounts. Scream Elisa, Scream! She breaks free and hollers. Super Damian to the rescue! He rips Paolo away from Elisa. “Eres un asco!”  (You’re disgusting!) and proceeds to beat Paolo to a pulp. Paolo gets a couple of good punches in and a head butt but he’s no match for Super Damian. Paloma comes onto the scene, hugs Elisa and begs Damian not to kill Paolo. Dam gets one more good kick in and explains Paolo was trying to rape Elisa. Paloma hustles Elisa away while Dam glares down at Paolo.

Ingrid returns to her hotel and is irritated to find Kenia waiting for her. Kenia laughs when she finds out Ingrid is working. That’s not like Ingrid, especially for the two pesos she must be earning in this town. Ingrid assures her that very soon her situation is going to change. Kenia hopes so for both their sakes. Ingrid tells her to go back to Mexico City but Kenia says she prefers to stay with Ingrid. Besides, Paolo left so she has nothing back in the DF. Ingrid asks does she expect to find Paolo in this one-horse town? Now beat it!

Oh darn, I thought we were going to get an Assgusto-free night. He arrives home and the first question he has for Orangina is “Where is Elisa?” Dolores tells him she went to visit Paloma. Carmina tries to put a bad spin on it, Elisa left much earlier than Paloma gets off work. Assgusto thinks she should have been home by now. Dolores points out when girls talk sometimes they lose track of time. Assgusto challenges her, who is Elisa with? “If you don’t believe me then look for her yourself,” suggests Dolores, “You can find her and then she won’t have to come home alone. Go!”  But he doesn’t.

Elisa is recovering at the yerberia and Ramona is in high dudgeon, she never liked that Paolo! Elisa swears she did nothing to entice him and she is terrified of what her father will do if he finds out. He won’t believe her. Paloma says Damian was a witness. Doesn’t matter, she cries, her father never, ever believes her. Ramona will take Elisa home.

Ingrid visits Padre Lupe, her alligator tears are flowing. She asks what Padre told Gael about her. Nada, he says, and she should thank God he didn’t tell Gael about her before they saw her at the hotel. She swears she is truly repentant and wants Padre to intercede on her behalf. He doesn’t believe her and says she sure didn’t waste any time hooking up with with losers like Gabino Mendoza. Por Favor, says the padre, decent women don’t spend the night with men they barely know. Blah blah blah Gael was shocked. Padre says he has nothing else to say to her. Sorry, but he’s got things to do so later.

Kike has taken Flor to dad’s office where they can talk without interruption. This was his great idea? Man, there really is no place to go in town. She says she’s known Damian for many years, since they were children, studying and never speaking Italian together in Italy. “Are you very in love with him?” asks the brainiac. “We’re going to be married,” she says. He points out that doesn’t really answer the question. She says their relationship has changed since they arrived in La Ermita. She’s become a little confused because in this town she’s met some very interesting people. “Como tú,” she says, laying a kiss on him. He tells her not to play with him, his feelings are serious. “Don’t misunderstand me. I’d better go,” she says. Kike grabs her and the kissing continues.

Gael gets home and wants to finish the odd conversation that Padre started with him this morning. He demands to know why Padre took him to see Señora Ingrid. Padre insists it’s because he wanted Gael to see she hangs out with types like Gabino, that she’s not trustworthy. Gael scoffs, that’s absurd. How could Padre know Gabino would walk out in that very moment? He insists he’s not a little boy anymore so tell him the truth. Padre is squirming and looks 100% guilty.  Gael says padre is acting very suspicious and if he didn’t know better he’d think Padre had lost his mind (deschavetado = nutty, perdido la chaveta). OK, OK, says Padre, he admits what he did was stupid. Gael’s not letting him off the hook. Padre is hiding something and he wants to know the truth!

Avances: Damian gets home all messy and bloody. Fina assumes Elisa lured Paolo. Antonia reluctantly admits to Damian that Elisa called Paolo (but someone is obviously making her lie). Damian bursts into Elisa’s room. She really needs to get a lock for that door.

El Talismán #62 Thu 4/26/12 A Change of Address and A Trip to the Hospital

Previously on El Talisman:

Tonio and Pigorio are arguing in the office about El Alcatrash and about Pigorio signing some papers so Tonio is sure to inherit El Alcatrash. Tonio tells him to do it or he will go to prison. Pigorio starts clutching his arm.

Today on El Talisman:

Army and El Viral are arguing. He says he is sick of her lying and because of her love of venganza and dinero he is sick of her. He tells her it is her fault and he slams out the door. Angel tells El Viral Army wants to find his own place.

Padre Sebastian, Gabe, and Pedro talk about the deaths of Tia Patty and Claudio. Padre wants to know if Pedro really thinks Pigorio did this? He says let the authorities handle it.

Cameela is trying on wedding dresses. The one she has on is beautiful as Geno tells her. Cameela tells Geno she is afraid Lucrazy will show up.

Pigorio is holding his arm and collapses. He asks Tonio to help him get his pills which have fallen out of his pocket. Tonio has some in his hand and keeps them right out of Pigorio's reach while Pigorio is begging Tonio to give them to him, he needs them.

Doris comes in the living room and teases Lucrazy again about the wedding of Pedro which is tomorrow. Lucrazy tells her to shut up.

Manuel and Maria are at the hospital talking in the hallway and he is saying what happened to El Viral wasn't important to him. He doesn't want to cause Maria any problems. He tells Maria that El Viral is a manipulator. He wants to recuperate his love with Maria and Maria tells him it is too late for that. Maria tells Manuel that El Viral lives with her.

Gabe, Sarita, Pedro and the Padre are still talking and Padre tells Pedro he wants to talk to Margarito. Pedro tells the Padre they are making sure Margarito stays sober and that Santiago is helping. Padre wants to know who Santiago is. They tell him and Padre says they should contact the authorites to make sure a parent isn't missing him. They are reluctant to do so.

Santiago and Margarito are outside talking and Margarito tells Santiago about being with Pedro in the streets when they were young. Margarito didn't know his Mama. Gabe comes out for Margarito and wants Santiago to come inside to meet the Padre. Santiago tells him no, he'll wait outside.

Tonio is screaming at Pigorio to die already, or sign those new papers, your choice. Pigorio is moaning and lying there and I really don't know if he answered Tonio, but Tonio flings some pills at him and Pigorio manages to catch a couple and takes them.

Pedro goes outside and talks to Santiago. He tells Santiago they are friends and you trust me right? He tells Santiago he has an obligation to call the authorities to make sure noone is looking for him and for legal reasons. Santiago thinks Pedro lied to him. He doesn't want Pedro to call the police. He runs away. Pedro gives chase but loses him. Margarito comes outside and asks Pedro what is up. He tells Margarito what he said to Santiago, and Margo is mad at Pedro for telling Santiago that. They go inside and talk to Padre about how Santiago ran away, and they are worried he is on the streets again. Gabe is on a horse looking for Santiago and he tells Pedro he has been all over and can't find him. Pedro says he will contact the police.

Tonio runs into the living room and tells Doris and Lucrazy that Pigorio is dying and to call an ambulance. Doris goes to call. Lucrazy thinks if Pigorio dies they will get the ranch. Tonio says maybe not, maybe it will be Panchito. Tonio tells Doris to Largate. Tonio grabs Lucrazy and they go into the office. Lucrazy goes to Pigorio and Tonio asks her if he is dead already. Pigorio is moving and moaning and Lucrazy gives him a glass of water.

Tracy and Panchito are talking about the menu for Cameela and Pedro's wedding. Tracy doesn't want to tell Panchito to tell Pigorio about the wedding. Panchito says he won't. Nana comes for Panchito, she says something has happened to Pigorio and Panchito needs to help. Panchito comes in to the office to help Pigorio but Tonio shoves him and calls him a bastardo and shoves him from the room and closes and locks the door. He can't get back into the room and Tracy says let's just leave.

Cameela has bought her wedding dress and is very happy her dreams are coming true. Geno tells her it will be a great day. Cameela goes to see her Tia Maria at the hospital. Cameela gives her an invitation to her wedding. Tia Maria is very happy for her. Cameela says she would have told her sooner but everything happened so fast she didn't have time to tell her before. Cameela is a little concerned about El Viral but Tia Maria tells her not to worry about her Mama.

El Viral has packed her bag (you would think with all her stuff she would have more bags, just saying) and she looks around the apartment and says something like she doesn't want to stay in a place that has made her so unhappy.

Pedro and Margo go visit El Capitan (the hardest working cop in Fresno) and tell him all about Santiago and that he is all on his own on the street and can he help them find him. I am unsure what El Capitan told Pedro, but Pedro tells him that Cameela and he want to adopt Santiago after they are married tomorrow. He tells El Captian he was once on the streets too as a kid.

Doris has called Brigette and told her Pigorio may die and she is concerned she won't be able to get what she wants. She tells Brigette she wants Pigorio to live.

Pigorio is being wheeled into the emergency room, just as Cameela is leaving and she runs into Tonio. Tonio tells Cameela that Pigorio isn't doing well. Panchito has come too, and Tonio shoves him and tells him to Largate, Panchito tells Tonio he is a Piglet too! Lucrazy comes next and grabs Cameela and tells Cameela she is never going to marry Pedro. Cameela tells Lucrazy to let go and Cameela and Geno leave.

Mariana is waiting out in the hall at the hospital in the wing where Maria and Manuel work, (far away from the ER). Maria asks Mariana who she is waiting for. Mariana says Dr. Manuel. Dr. Maria doesn't know where he is. Dr. Maria introduces herself and Marianan says she knows about her and Dr. Manuel. She asks Maria if she will give Dr. Manuel another chance?

Dr. Manuel is talking to Dr. Raul and tells him a little about Dr. Manuel and Maria's past. Dr. Manuel tells Dr. Raul he wants another chance with Dr. Maria.

Cameela is back at El Tal and Pedro tells her what happened with Santiago. Cameela tells Pedro what happened with Lucrazy. Pedro tells Cameela Lucrazy will never seperate them. Padre also tells her that. Cameela tells Pedro that Lucrazy just doesn't get that. She tells Pedro about Pigorio in the hospital. Pedro basically tells Cameela who cares about Pigorio? Padre tells Pedro not to have bad thoughts before the wedding. Pedro says Lucrazy will not interrupt the wedding. Padre says they are very strong together.

El Viral has arrived at her new abode and wait for it, it is Rennie's apartment! El Viral walks right in and tells him as his wife his apartment is MIO! She tells Rennie like it or not I'm moving in. He tells her the favorite line of this show, Largate! Rennie even tells her he will force her to leave if he has to, but she is leaving like it or not. El Viral says go right ahead and see what that gets you, he tells her I sent you the divorce papers, she tells him she hates him and tells her he will never permit her to live there. They are circling each other like two rats that are going to swipe the cheese. As they are arguing Rita comes in and says something I didn't catch.

Lucrazy and Tonio are in the waiting room of the hospital. Lucrazy is crying that Pedro is Mio. Tonio tells her it's more important that Pigorio lives so he can sign a new will that will leave El Alcatrash to them. Tonio tells her Panchito will never get anything. And he reminds Lucrazy Pedro is not marrying Cameela.

Army and Angel are at the apartment and Army says Fabi will never forgive him for what he did. He wants to talk to both girls and ask them to forgive him. Army doesn't want to do that at school, so Angel says why don't we go to El Alcatrash? Army doesn't want to go cause he is afraid of what Tonio will do to him. Angel says why not?

Doris finds Fabi and Flor and tells them Pigorio is in the hospital and it doesn't look good. Flor says she hopes Pigorio makes it cause then the rancho will be Tonio's and that isn't good. Doris doesn't look happy with that.

Valentin has come to the hospital and is talking to Panchito who is around the corner so Tonio doesn't see him. Panchito wants to sneak in to see Pigorio and Valentin is hiding Panchito from their view so he can go see him. Panchito tells Valentin he doesn't want Pigorio to die.

Pigorio is in the hospital room hooked up to all kinds of machines. Panchito comes into the room and is crying. He tells Pigorio he doesn't want him to die. Panchito tells him he doesn't want his money he just wants his Papa to live. He is holding Pigorio's hand and as he is talking to Pigorio, Pigorio squeezes Panchito's hand. Pigorio opens his eyes and swears to Panchito he will not die. Pigorio also said something else I didn't catch.

Mariana is still waiting for Dr. Manuel and Dr. Maria invites her into her office. Maria wants to know all about Mariana but she says it is a very long story. Mariana asks her about Dr. Manuel. She won't say. Dr. Maria says she will look for Dr. Manuel. Maria runs into Manuel in the hall and tells him Mariana is in her office. He is asking Maria for another chance, and she tells him it is too late for that. He asks her if this is about her son, she says no it's because of El Viral.

Lucrazy and Tonio are still talking in the waiting room. Lucrazy accuses him of just wanting money, and not Cameela. Tonio tells her he just doesn't want the money, he wants the rancho and Cameela too. He says Pigorio is another story. The doctor comes out and tells Tonio and Lucrazy Pigorio could go home tomorrow (huh). Tonio asks him if he will be able to sign papers today. The doctor looks at him like he is crazy and says tomorrow but not today. Tonio thinks about the wedding tomorrow. Lucrazy is still whining about the wedding and Tonio tells her that Pedro is not going to marry Cameela tomorrow because Mariana will be there.

Santiago has gone to Mariana's apartment. He knocks on the door but she isn't there. He knocks again and waits outside the door.

Advances:

The wedding of Pedro and Cameela

Tonio goes to Mariana's and tells her Pedro and Cameela are getting married right now.

Abismo de pasión #33 4/25/12: 'I AM THE LADY OF THE HOUSE' cries MISS PEACHYBEECH... and BOYS WILL BE BOYS

 Recap by Marta Ivett

Replay: Paloma warning Inmundo about Carmina, who did not show up to the funeral because she never liked Blanca, and giving Dr the lab results.

At La Anita, we rewatch Lucio giving Irritating Ingrid a weird stare while she tries to hide her face from him. (Maru also notices this exchange). Gabino introduces Maru/Ingrid.
‘Does Damian know already? / Yes’
Inmundo receives ToadHead after shutting up Paloma, who was ready to spill the beans about his earlier relationship with Nemo-Ho. Inmundo gives ToadHead the results.

New:
ToadHead takes them home to read them in private. (what’s wrong, Toadhead? ashamed of having a friend watch you cry a river?)

Nemo-Ho moody so she takes it on Super-Lolita, who is also too moody to hear Nemo-Ho’s insults and nagging (the house is a pigsty, you work for me, I am the LADY of the house, you are under my command)…
Lola’s backfires:
You brag you are ‘the lady of the house’… I wish you really behaved like it.
I am sure you let that Paolo come into my nina Elisa’s bedroom.
So much insistence of you for pairing my nina Elisa and that ‘tipo’
I am not buying that one (lie) from you. I know you hate my nina Elisa, and want to know why?
Because she is daughter of MY Senora Elisa.. and every time you see Elisa you remember HER.
All your life you were jealous of your sister. And above all, envy.
I know you hate my nina Elisa so much you would go to any measures to harm her.
IF you could, you would make Elisa disappear into thin air for good!
Nemo-Ho yells at & fires Lolita, getoutaDODGE!! U GOT 15 mins to pack your dirt balls (bola de mugre).

Irate/intense/determined Gael arrives at Arango hacienda looking for Paolo and making lotta racket… Tonita tells him quickly that Paolo might be at the pro-ce-sa-do-ra.. Gael is leaving when Alfie comes out nagging about the racket… when she sees who it is she turns on the offensive face and takes the opportunity to throw mudd at her absent  brother for not teaching Gael manners… (this woman is something else?) what do you want? (and you want an answer when you give him that kind of a welcome speech?) Tonita tells her he came looking for Gael… I did not know you had established a friendship with my daughter in law’s unkahunk … / that man is not my friend, ma’am. / then why do you want to see him? / … with all due respect (love that disclaimer he gives before insulting gossipy older ladies), that is none of your business… c’iao(leaves her all stirred talking to herself about having to take his disrespect. LOL)

Nemo-Ho is still trying to get Super-Lolita busy packin’… Elisa arrives and asks Nemo-Ho why she fired Super-Lolita… Elisa asks Lolita why she got fired, Lolita says she told Nemo-Ho she was the one that let Paolo in Elisa’s room…. Elisa asks Lolita if she really believes Nemo-Ho capable of that… yes, of that and much more… Elisa says Lolita stays…  Lolita says she is leaving… she does not have to take any more crap from Nemo-Ho. Elisa tells her she would be left all alone. Lolita assures her that would not be.

At La Anita, Paolo is not happy with the office space Gabino is setting for him. He wanted a jacuzzi, leather sofa, baño turco, etc. Gabino did not expect him so soon… Paolo tells Gabino he lost some points with Elisa last night… tells Gabino he got in her room, and if it was not for her father arriving, he would have had better luck with Elisa… it was her aunt Nemo-Ho’s idea to let him in there. Gabino laughs and warns Paolo Nemo-Ho is special. Better b careful with her or she’ll use you for her own agenda.

At warehouse, Damian, who is somewhat irritated already, confronts Kike why he wanted to see Flo… he still does not understand why he used two women (his sister and Flo) to get Damian to forgive him without firing him from the job. It is not logical at all. Damian says it is a shame that Kike feels like he needs to use women to fix his problems, Damian doesn't mix personal issues with business matters. And with that he leaves Kike, who looks like he needs another minute to understand what Damian just said…

Elisa argues with Nemo-Ho who seems to like the sound of the phrase ‘I am the lady of the house’ out of her fish lips… she keeps on repeating it… and she has the right to hire or fire the help… Elisa says Lolita has been with them for years, she is more a member of the family…  Nemo-Ho says Lolita disrespected her. Elisa asks how? Because she said you let Paolo in my room? I am beginning to believe that too.
Nemo mocks her… and finds another phrase ‘I am your family and you believe her more than me’.
Elisa says ‘you are the most bitter person I have ever met’.

ToadHead walks in his studio at home with the lab results in his hands… and we have that heavy breathing music while he remembers that Nemo-Ho told him Elisa is not his daughter… and when Elisa asked him to tell him and he did not and did not let Nemo-Ho either…  also when Lucio rebutted that idea… also early on when he came home and Estefania and Elisa were preparing the dinner table for the Arango family as guests… he reads the result and begins to cry… burns the paper with a lighter…
(so in this town they have lighters and hi-liters [Gael was using one when reading the paper looking for a job] but no cell phones) ..he thinks ‘Elisa is not my daughter’… and continues crying…

Gael arrives at La Anita and charges Paolo, in front of Maru, Ingrid and Gabino…
Gael gets IN HIS FACE and demands that Paolo play nice with Elisa (why does he remind me of Woody from Toy Story here?)… Paolo rebuts that Elisa loves the way he treats her… Gael says he will make Paolo swallow those words and when he is about to beat the crap out of him, Damian arrives and grabs him from behind… Damian asks Gael what is going on. Gael yells that ‘your friend’ is an imbecil, Gael leaves mad… Damian asks Paolo why Gael said that, Paolo plays innocent victim… Damian goes out and asks Gael what is his bronca with Paolo… Somebody poisoned the water hole!! (no, just kiddin!) Gael tells him that imbecil is crossing the line with Elisa… don’t know the details but it is enough to know that man was in Elisa’s room and I am sure he did not have good inentions!! (not exactly with a tea party invitation in his hand)  Damian impactado, now he is the one looking intense/determined.

Looking sweet as ever, Lolita has her tied up box and old suitcase… heading out… Elisa catches her at the door and says she is going with her… Lolita tries to make her desist, ‘this is your house’.. ‘no, my place is with those I love’… Lolita gives up and lets her come… when they are at the door ToadHead comes out of his studio… Elisa tells him where they are going… and why… ‘all you want is freedom to keep seeing Paolo and who knows how many  more, I won’t allow it’… ‘’I won’t let you keep insulting me.. .i am an adult and I can do as I please with my life.’… ‘I won’t stay here alone to endure the hell you mother left me in’ … (Lolita is quite upset and scared by now watching this exchange.. by the way, seems Elisa borrowed Lolita’s crochet’d black dress.) ‘you will share it with me!’ … ‘how can you say that?? How can that be the ONLY reason for you to want me to stay! (you go girl!) you don’t love me, I have always been a burden for you. it is best that I go’ (he grabs her arm, won’t let her go) ‘the only reason I would stay is that Lolita stays too! Your call!’ (ToadHead yells for Nemo-Ho to come over)  ToadHead argues with Nemo-Ho… he is not willing to let Elisa go, he asks Nemo-Ho to support him… With a couple more insults for Lolita about being replaceable, Nemo-Ho leaves defeated…

Back at La Anita, Gabino (says something about apples and pears, I guess he means boys will be boys) is glad Damian came in time to save Paolo. Paolo says no, he came to save Gael. (yeah right!, pretty boy with hunk-a bod but I seriously doubt you would have been a match for my homeboy Gael!) .. Damian waltzes in, warns Paolo ‘this is your last warning to leave Elisa alone, otherwise it won’t be Gael to whip your habaneros, it will be me… and that is a task I will do with pleasure…  (with that he leaves).. Gabino says it seems Elisa Castanon is becoming a threat, just as her mother was back then. (jerk!)

At hacienda, Princess Poop whines to Alfie that she can’t stand this situation anymore, don’t know what I am doing here, I am going back to Mex City. All day I am alone, Damian is busy with other things and with other people… like Elisa.   Every time Damian and I argue is about her, (tells Alfie about the incident at the fonda where Damian hit Kike… and how Damian got mad when Paolo and Elisa arrived together to the funeral) … I am afraid he will end up dropping me for her. .. the only way to fix the problem would be that Damian and I return to Mexico.  Alfie is not happy at the thought of that…

Gabino comes to hacienda to give Alfie his own version of the incidents at La Anita with Gael and Damian with Paolo.  ‘Elisa Castanon’ … always Elisa Castanon… in the soup…  in the tv commercials.. in the junk mail… in my nightmares… in public busses… in the magazine covers… in the taxi roof ads…

Back at Castanon manor… Nemo-Ho is nagging at ToadHead about having favored Elisa over her. He finds it stupid to be caught in the middle of a domestic dispute.. .you are the ‘lady of the house’… and you can’t handle it. .I have enough with the my issues with the business and the habanero fields…  Nemo-Ho says when the lab work results get here, she expects him to kick Elisa out of the house and of your life… ToadHead says those results are here already.. but regardless Elisa stays… Nemo-Ho continues mocking ToadHead’s inability to control Elisa no matter what… ToadHead gets furious. Nemo-Ho repeats Elisa inherited Stefi and Rosie’s ways… and NOW, after 120 hours of argument, ToadHEad asks Nemo-Ho what was the issue with Lolita to begin with… Nemo-Ho says Lolita assures NeMo let Paolo in Elisa’s room. ToadHEad bahs. Nemo-Ho threatens that she is the one that will leave if he keeps defending Elisa.

Gael gets to church and is irate telling Padre Loopy that if that ‘tipo’ gets close to Elisa again he will kill him!! Padre asks him not to be silly… Gael won’t let anyone harm Elisa… Nobody… Nobody! … Nobody!
Loopy asks Gael not to get in fights without knowing the details… Gael claims he does not need details to know he believes in Elisa and be willing to put his hand on the fire for her… Gael mentions Ingrid was there too… and suddenly Loopy forgets the ‘reprimend’ he was in the middle of, ‘was it the same woman that came to bring you the ‘pastelito’ ese?’ yeah that one!

ToadHead asks Elisa where she is going.. to my godfather’s house… Elisa gets defensive right away… ToadHead says ‘don’t lie to me, or else… I swear I don’t know… what I might do..’ (no, really, ToadHead, surprise us).. Elisa assures him she won’t have any more interaction with Paolo or anyone… since he would distrust even Gael… he says ‘the only one I distrust… is you’… (that hurts, stupid ToadHead)… on her way out Elisa is faced with Alfie (some bad day for Elisa)… Alfie tries to make a deal with Elisa… she can solve all her father’s financial woes.. in exchange for something very simple… interested?  (commercial break)… tempting, isn’t it? all you have to do is get away from my son for good’… ‘I am not understanding … we have minimal contact… why does it worry you so much that Damian and I see each other? He will be married soon, right? ‘… ‘it is for his fiancee’s sake.. she does not understand (your relationship with him) … Elisa keeps rejecting the deal… Alfie suggest she think.. nothing to think about … for all I care you can package him nicely in saran wrap and ship him away with fiancee and all!

Nemo-Ho confronts Lolita in kitchen, warns her that the war is not over… Nemo-Ho will keep looking for a way to get Lolita gone for good… Lolita doesn’t care about her threats… Nemo-Ho says you should heed my warnings.. because this time I will do it…
Nemo-Ho walks into ToadHead’s studio. Finds the empty envelope and celebrates her triumph all alone.
‘you will believe Elisa is not your daughter until the last miserable day of your life’.

ToadHead is drinking his woes at the town’s only bar…  all alone.

At La Anita, Maru is leaving the office for the day. Ingrid asks Maru how long she worked there.. more than 20 yrs since Don Rosendo lived… how did he die? … in a car accident… a tragedy… he must have left a good estate.. this business must be worth lots of money.. (Maru gives her a very questioning look given what Ingrid is saying)… Damian comes out… Ingrid almost spills her beans saying she wanted to know the son of Don Rosendo.  Damian asks if she knew his father, nope but everyone in town speaks of him… Ingrid comments to Maru that Damian is very gallant.. Maru agrees but gives her another inquisitive stare… Ingrid brings Gabino a report. He wants to escort her home… she passes on it so he asks if she is hiding anything… I live in the hotel in town.. no mystery there… not married. I live alone too….  We have so many things in common.. we live alone.. we have 1 nose, 2 feet, we are schemers, we worship the god of Moolah… we should not be trusted further than we can be thrown…

At Lucio’s Lucio tells Elisa he just came from the police station at Merida.. there is no leads, no witnesses, as if the fashion house was in the middle of the desert… there was nothing inside that would have caused the fire.. no stove, no gas tank, no TNT, nuclear devices, no C4, no matches, no gunpowder, and no McGyver to mix household chemicals up…
Elisa wants them to cook dinner together, have something to tell him…
Elisa wants him to work with her at the invernadero… he insists he has to work on finding whoever did kill Blanquita… Elisa is afraid all this obsession to find the culprit will destroy him… he says it ain’t easy.
Elisa says she had mentioned her plans about the invernadero to Nina and that she wanted Lucio to help her… Nina thought it was a great idea… he is still reluctant, Elisa was waiting for the project to be better laid out before asking him… finally he gives in and she showers him with kisses and hugs…

Padre Loopy runs into Ingrid at La Anita before she leaves… she says she is determined to become a useful woman… so when she confronts her son he will have no shame of her… She asks him if he has a problem with her getting a job or it being precisely there… why do you distrust me so much? … I have told you, I find it hard to believe in that sudden love for a son you barely know. She gets all teary/dramatic… you are right.. I barely know Gael but he is my son!! MY SON!! All I want to do is make up for my mistakes… why can’t you understand that? … well, it is hard for me to understand. It was more than 20 yrs before you cared about MY GAEL!! … you have no idea what my life has been like all these years! (you are right in that one point, II) … and even if you don’t believe me, I have always thought of Gael.. please help me win Gael’s love… even if I wanted to, I could not… Padre, I beg you… For God’s sake please help me…  we all deserve a 2nd chance… and you, who are a priest, can’t deny it to me.
Ingrid leaves and Loopy, with teary eyes, asks God to enlighten him.

At Ingrid’s hotel, she is arguing with someone she does not want to come meet her… go look for that man who needs to show face for you! don’t count on me! You are all on your own! (sola, meaning female.. is this a daughter?)

A while later, when she is already in pJ’s, Gabino shows up at Ingrid’s door… he was thinking about their chat about being two lonely people in the world… and it’s gonna be fine…  I have been waiting for the right woman… they get busy…

Damian arrives home… Alfie brings up his neglecting his fiancee… Damian says she has to understand he is working… and when they get married it would be the same so she better get used to it… Alfie plays the understanding mother… and advices they go to Mex and after they get married they can return… Damian thinks it absurd that she now wants them to leave if she was insisting in his staying… Alfie turns it up a notch suggesting to hurry up the wedding and then the children will keep Princess Poop busy…
WHOA!! Hold your horses, mommy!! Damian protests that she (Alfie) is going too fast…
Alfie whines he is losing interest in his fiancee. Did he change his mind about marrying her? (FREEZE!)

Previews show the replay of the first kiss…
Nemo-Ho asks Elisa if she is interested in Damian, Elisa responds ‘Damian is a man with a commitment’
Damian asks Flo to split up for a while… Flo upset and in disbelief
VO: a decision that will lead to a vengeance (Flo apparently tells Paolo about the split) without limits, without mercy…
(we see what seems like Paolo trying to rape Elisa at the cenote after he insults her and she slaps him…)

Una Familia Con Suerte #223-224 Wed 4/25/12 Waterloo

Hi everybody... sorry for the brusque recaps lately; the two-hour shows have been really wearing me down.

But this episode was a juicy one. Finally, no Pancho/Rebe mush scenes!
...

Holly hell! Ultimos Capitulos already? So maybe they were just in a big hurry to get it over with? But why?

We open up the episode on Napoleon pointing a gun with a silly silencer at Candi. I'm afraid I was talking and missed this scene, but the gist of it was threats, I love you, and the like.

Tomas arrests Napoleon's ninja-babe after refusing her bribe.

Cut to Chela, Enzo, and a bimbo in a suit. Is this the woman they've hired to feed the baby? "Haydee?" She certainly has the "equipment." You know, I kind of like coming into these episodes with no idea what's going on.

Ana tells Lupita that Freddy wants her back. After all, she likes him. But what about Adrian? That's where the piggy tail curls. No decision is made.

Candi calls Lupita merely to say that Tomas is in danger. Meanwhile, he interrogates the same flunky, who says Napo is like a father to her. Tomas is too busy to answer Lupita's call, but she's figured out that Napo is back just by Candi's terrified voice. Smart cookie.

Now she calls Vins to tell him to watch out for the Japanese guy. No word on which, but it's probably the henchman.

Pancho and auditor-barbie are freaking out about the front-page scoop (a picture of the two of them apparently smooching, for those of you who missed the avances). Meanwhile, Rebe's friend brings her a copy of the same article ("romance de altura"). Pancho and the auditrix take it out on Vins, and Pancho entire face goes a remarkable shade of red. Vins will get an order of embargo for his shady taxes. He tries to blackmail her, but probably should have made the threat *before* releasing the photo. They are going to have to fight dirty. They have a GREAT argument!

Rebe cries on Barb's one-shouldered zebra-dress.

On of Pina's suitors arrives to apologize - it was the anniversary of his son's death. He will take her out to eat to make up for it, and she looks quite pleased! She wiggles with glee after he makes his exit.

Candi comes and lets Lupita know that Napo made threats against Tomas. Lupita Loses. Her. Shit.

Fred begins to compose a mushy note for Ana.

OLD DIAL-UP MODEM in the police station! My sense of nostalgia at that noise totally erased anything else that happens in this scene. Geez, Tomas has grown up fast. They must have put him on the convicted prisoner's fast-track path through police academy.

Pancho tries to explain to barbie's boss that the newspaper was pure fiction, but he doesn't buy it. She will be be suspended. She has a brief moment of hope that the boss will understand once he sees evidence against Vins, but she's OUTTA THERE.

Tomas calls Lupita (enough with the calls already, babe). "don't you understand, I can't always answer my phone." He was in the middle of interrogating a known associate of a major crime boss (see what I mean about the fast-track to detective), and can't always take calls.

Rebe storms into Pancho's office with a copy of the paper in hand, and they have a cute little moment where she's mad at him and he calls her cell phone from three feet away. He seems to gain a little traction with his explanation of evil Vins and his tax situation and the fake photo, and she swiftly forgives Pancho after a little correction of his grammar. Barbie wasn't so lucky with her boss, and brings the two the bad news.

Pancho brings her a little tea. They will try to find some witness, some way, but she doesn't think it can be done. Swiftly, Rebe gets an idea. We don't find out what it was, but the two ladies have a sweet scene together.

Fred is hard at work, printing out a fancy card with a mushy note for Ana. He will show her his love *and* his prowess with desktop publishing software.

Tomas is tailing Salome, undercover, alone, with a gun. Again, fast-track-to-cop. She pulls into a parking lot and meets the Japanese henchman, who smashes her sim-card, and takes her away in another vehicle. Tomas is hot on the trail, looking not very undercover with his gun in one hand.

Tomas gives chase, and his boss warns him not to try to arrest Napo alone. But it doesn't matter, because he loses the criminals (or they lose him, I don't know how you say it).. anyway, Tomas is grumpy and yells at his steering wheel.

Toshiro is the Japanese guy. He's made it back to the supply closet where Napoleon is hiding out (seriously, it seems to be stocked with mostly cardboard tubes and a barrel of hay). Napo begins weakly strangling the "incompetent" Salome as punishment for trying to bribe Tomas rather than kill him. He lets them know that before he leaves, he must fulfill a promise he made to a man. Very menacing.

Pina and Sebastian are out to dinner. They have super-downer music for their date, and even the extras in the background look miserable. The walls are an awful shade of brown... are they out to dinner inside a giant cardboard box in a train station (a soft voice echoes like a PA in the background). Gawd, this is a downer, talking about his dead son and all. But Pina does offer to try to diminish his pain, and he accepts. They kiss!

Napoleon creepily watches Temo play soccer from up above, then lands the copter on the soccer field and creakily gets out with his whole crew. The goalie is wearing a giant mask. What exactly is going on here? The villains take out the chauffeur, and kidnap Temo. He doesn't resist, and in fact looks excited. Napo promised the kid a chopper ride, and is here to deliver. This has got to be the easiest kidnapping of the month! But Napo stays on the soccer field while Temo has a ball, and they bring him back afterwards. I really wasn't expecting that. They even have a remote-control helicopter for him! The chauffeur comes back and takes Temo home. When the kid arrives, he tells the assembled Lopez what just happened and they collectively LOSE. THEIR. SHIT.

Pina is being really sweet, and the date has gotten a lot brighter. The girl eating at the table behind them still looks miserable, though. The two have a chat about Arnold, a much more amusing topic. She also explains her recent transformation. They kiss.

Napo shows up at Chela's to menacingly congratulate her on her baby, display that he knows exactly how much it weighs, and drink from a flask. He also knows about the milk issue. Then he moans to her about his beloved Candi. He came to Chela because he knows she's the only one who can calm the family down after he takes Candi away. If she won't? He'll start killing. Ninja-babe (Salome) descends the staircase with the baby.

Next stop on Napoleons tour of threatening appearances: Pancho, who greets the baddie, then just about breaks his own neck with whiplash in a double-take (Que haces aqui Napo-WHAAAAH?). Napo gets a little misty and explains that he's jealous of Pancho's wonderful family. He's never had one of his own, and he lost his mommy. Pancho: you can't have Candi. What do you want? Napo: I want a hug. They hug, but Pancho looks really disturbed, like he just found out the truth about Santa Claus. Maybe Napoleon is grabbing his butt?

Tomas tells the family that he's headed to rescue Candy. He drives over to her place, fortunately with a little backup this time.

Freddy sends his labor-intensive gift via maid-mail. Ana receives it and squees. Her happy-music goes away as Adrian calls. After a Napoleon interlude, Ana reads the fancily-printed note to the strains of the show's pensive love theme. Meanwhile, Pina seems to have finally come to terms with Freddy's feelings for Ana. She also tells him about how her new guy makes her feel like a little girl!

Candi confronts Vins about the photo scandal. They don't resolve anything. Then they discuss the possible kidnapping and, guess what, here comes Napoleon with a gun. "Vins, don't pick up that gun." Vins puts it down. "Vins, put down that lamp." Vins puts it down. Unarmed, Vins puffs out his chest and gets ready to take the bullet as we are treated to dramatic music and a closeup on Napo's nose hair. Candi volunteers to go with Napo to save Vins. Vins says no. Fortunately, Tomas shows up behind Napo with a gun. Napo tries to psych him out "you got killer in you, boy?" Napo misses, but Tomas still shoots. Napo gets some brief death throes and we cut to commercials before his eyes close. Will he get a final speech? Stay tuned to find out. Yes! maybe he won't die. They're loading him onto the ambulance as his accomplices are taken off to jail. No, he's really dying, but he still gets that speech. He only wants to die by Candi's side, and takes her hand. He has just a few minutes to live, and he just wants to spend them with her by his side. As soon as the villain's eyes close, Vins begins jumping up and down and shouting with glee! Also, what does Salome mean by "la reina del jaque mano." It sounds like the queen in chess, but it looks like some kind of (probably poisonous) salt-water taffy. As she is carted away by the cops she hands it to Tomas. Maybe I heard wrong.

Also, in the last minutes of the show, we get a random love scene with Chacho and Sandra in their new pad, which seems a little silly after what just happened.

Candi is impressed that Vins was ready to throw down his life, and all is forgiven. They close out the episode on a kiss.

Phew!
