Una Familia Con Suerte #183-184 Wed 3/28/12
As Ana leaves, Enzo notices that Chela isn’t feeling well and takes her home. We have a cute scene where Chela is playing this sick card a little bit. Poor Enzo is worried and ready to take her to the hospital. He notices something’s up, and Chela admits that she’s having some fun with him and lets him know that even if she felt bad, all of her problems seem to vanish when he’s with her. Well…almost all of them vanish, as she runs to the bathroom and throws up. Pregnancy stuff, I’d imagine.
Dona Fer visits Rebe. While Rebe is excited about almost being her daughter-in-law, Dona Fer is too preoccupied with Octavio’s diagnosis. She confides in Rebe, letting her know what’s happening.
Pancho and Chacho begin talking about the misunderstanding with Sandra. Chacho is jealous. At that time, Sandra comes to try and straighten things out with him.
At the auto shop, Frida is daydreaming and sighing heavily. She’s in love with Pepe. Don Matias talks to her and encourages her to at least see if she has any kind of possibility with him.
Of course, right at that time, Pepe is on the phone with Monica. Monica lets him know that there is a new medication for Violeta and that she might be on the road to being more stable. Pepe is pleased, because that means Monica would come back soon. Unfortunately, she lets him know that her mother has asked her to stay in France till the end of the month to make sure that all is well with the new treatment. Hmmm.
The news is hard on Pepe, and he lets Monica know he isn’t very happy. Monica asks him not to make her difficult situation even harder, and he calms down. Of course, this will probably lead to Pepe paying a bit more attention to the young and in love mechanic, Frida. Something’s got to be the spark for the love triangle.
Vicente sneaks up on Candy and quite frankly is pretty annoying. She gets a little violent with him hoping that he’ll finally get the message to leave her alone. I think she does it as much for her as for him. Of course, it won’t last long.
Back to Chacho and Sandra. Chacho is kind of being a whiney jerk and not allowing Sandra to explain things. He decides to be “smart” and use reverse psychology on her. He asks how she’d feel if he had a friend at the market, and even gave her massages. He milks it a bit. Sandra isn’t having that…so, she turns it on him and lets him know that it wouldn’t matter to her because she trusts him, but obviously, the trust is not reciprocal! She leaves.
I was laughing there.
Elena and Lupita talk about life. Elena wonders what is wrong with her life. She goes over all of the “bad” things and relationships she’s recently experienced. Lupita lets her know that she needs to change and do something productive with her life…something related to computers. Elena can’t just expect to have a rich boyfriend who will just come, sweep her off her feet, and resolve her problems. Elena has to grow up and be productive.
While the gals talk about Tomas, we see him training at the police academy. Lupita is very proud of him and at how much he’s changing. Elena is still not fully convinced regarding changing.
Pancho and Rebe are out and about and see a very pretty cathedral. It must have some kind of significance of which I’m unsure. He gets a wild idea. What if…they get married there?
At Avon, Candy goes to see her big brother Pancho. He, of course, isn’t there. In walks Arnold dressed in some weird African get-up. He sees Candy and is happy to see her. They talk, and he asks to catch up on life with her. As they talk, Candy notices that Arnold keeps looking at her and all of her attributes. She wonders. Arnold has his eye on Candy.
At the auto shop, Pepe and Frida are in their own little worlds. Pepe is thinking of his conversation with Monica, and Frida is thinking about her conversation with Don Matias. She notices something’s up with Pepe, but he says everything’s good.
Back at the church, the love birds are asking for the next possible date for getting married. They’re told that perhaps at the beginning of the next year. Impossible!
Enzo takes Chela to a doctor, who happens to be one of the best and most expensive doctors in the city. It’s Monica’s doctor. Unfortunately, it is also Pina’s and Karina’s doctor. Pina provokes Chela, and Chela takes some of the bait, but Enzo is there to help regulate things.
Back to the mechanics, Frida finally gets Pepe to tell her what’s going on. While Pepe is down regarding Monica, Frida is thrilled.
There’s a nice scene with Ana, her band, and Franco getting ready for their concert. Franco encourages them to give it all they’ve got because they sound great! Who should appear? Freddy! He’s there as Ana’s biggest fan.
Tomas visits Lupita. He gives her a gift and lets her know how much he loves seeing her enjoy life. She thanks him but observes that he’s in pain. He hurt his back during training but thinks nothing of it. Lupita won’t stand to see her boyfriend be Macho Man, so she calls her grandmother to see if her husband (who just happens to be a doctor) will check things out for Tomas.
Octavio is pretty depressed regarding his diagnosis and doesn’t feel like doing much. Dona Fer encourages him to continue to go on with his life while he can. She encourages him to visit Tomas and see what’s going on with his back.
Back at Avon, Vince sees Candy, and again, he begins with the same old thing. She threatens to kick him where he will truly feel pain. Vicente gets close, and Candy yells at him. He won’t stop, and right at that time, Pancho comes in and of course, they fight. He pushes Vicente, and Vicente falls. In a way, Vicente takes advantage of the fact that there’s a little blood and makes a big scene, wanting an ambulance and everything. Pancho feels a little bad for what happened.
He calls Pina and asks her to go with him to the police station and make a formal complaint against Pancho.
Today, watching Sergio Sendel as Vicente was just boring. Vicente wants to sue Pancho.
Mechanics. Pepe is working or daydreaming or whatever, and Frida takes advantage of the situation! She doesn’t resist and kisses him. Pepe puts her in her place. He is a bit shocked and reminds her that they’re just friends.
He must have felt sad or guilty or something because he called Monica and told her that he would see about getting his passport in order so that he could go visit her. Monica is thrilled. Pepe apologizes and says that he should try and be more understanding.
Temo and Chela. Temo shows Chela his new laptop, which was a gift from Rebe. They begin to talk, and Temo asks Chela if she will still love him as much once her baby is born. Chela reminds him that she sees him as a son, and that he will be like a big brother to the baby. She reminds him how much she loves him and what a special place he holds in her heart.
Candy talks with Pancho and Rebe and lets them know how uncomfortable she is with Vicente and Pina. She even suggests that Pancho hire a body guard for her. Sure. She does congratulate Rebe and Pancho for their upcoming wedding.
At the police station, Vicente does put forth a formal complaint against Pancho for aggression and injury. Pancho is being sued, or at least, it would be like going to small claims court.
Chela, Dona Fer, and Octavio go and visit Tomas to see how they can help him. Lupita wonders if everything is OK with Octavio. Octavio is able to make his diagnosis, but he’s awfully hesitant and everyone notices that something is wrong.
Later on, Chela talks to Rebe about the situation and expresses concern for both Dona Fer and Octavio. Rebe listens, and when she’s asked if she knows anything, says she doesn’t. Dona Fer told Rebe about Octavio in confidence.
Tomas and Lupita. Lupita asks if Tomas is feeling better, and he says he is thanks to Dr. Lupita and her magic massages. She tells him not to get used to massages every day. He wonders why not and jokes with her about coming back again the next day. She tells him she’d be delighted if that were to happen. They talk more about how proud she is of him. He says that he wants Lupita to be even prouder, to see him graduate, etc. She asks if he was really willing to wait. He wonders what he needs to wait for, and she answers him with a kiss.
In the background, we hear music…a song being sung by Alejandra Garcia. She has a great voice!
At the Irabien home, Vicente and Pina continue to do their thing…milking things for all they’re worth. Vicente has a neck brace and everything. Boring.
Back at the concert, it’s ShowTime for Ana! Freddy is there to wish her luck.
Frida is slowly but surely wearing Pepe down. He just wants to be friends, but you can tell that he’s also having other thoughts regarding Frida.
Candy is back at the radio station doing her show. Everyone is happy to have her back. She lets the audience know about Pancho and Rebe not being able to be married at the Toluca Cathedral. Suddenly, she gets tons of messages by listeners who want to organize something so that they could get married at that wonderful church. The power of radio, huh?
Things go very well for Ana at her concert. She’s thrilled, and Freddy is right there with her.
Pepe gives Frida a ride home. He can’t stop thinking about Frida, especially after that kiss she gave him.
Pancho is stunned because he gets the court notice. If Vicente wants war, Pancho will give him war. He goes to Pina’s house and informs her that the reason he pushed Vicente and caused his “grief” was because he wouldn’t leave Candy alone. Oh boy! Vince denies this, of course. Pina isn’t sure she believes him.
Everyone is thrilled with Ana’s success. Freddy is looking at the newspaper at home, and the Lopez family is together, reading the paper and calling Ana to congratulate her. Pancho gets a bit sentimental with his little girl’s instant success.
Next we have a scene with Rebe and Dona Fer. They’re talking about Octavio and Chela’s suspicions. Fernanda is very concerned about her husband’s health. Rebe proposes that he gets some counseling.
Candy, Lupita, and Pancho look at Candy’s new facebook page. She gets a ton of posts informing of an upcoming demonstration people are organizing so that Pancho and Rebe can indeed be married at the Toluca Cathedral. The demonstration will be in the form of a service where everyone is dressed in white. Kind of cool!
Pepe talks to Tomas about his feelings and about Frida. Tomas warns Pepe not to give into temptation and do Monica wrong the way he did with Lupita.
Frida talks to her friend about Pepe. Oh, did I mention that Frida’s friend is her classic car named Pantera?
There’s a short scene with Enzo and Chela going shopping for maternity clothes. Enzo is with her through thick and thin…including shopping for women’s clothes. Poor guy!
Ana is feeling a bit lonesome and decides to call Chela. Just then, there’s an even better cure for her loneliness…Freddy Irabien at her door.
Pancho helps Lupita get things in order for the new daycare center. While they talk, she expresses concern for Elena and gives Pancho an idea. What if Elena got a job working with Arnold? After all, Arnold isn’t any danger because…after all, he’s gay…right? Yeah…right.
At Avon, Vicente and Arnold talk about Pancho and then move on to the subject of Candy. Right then, Candy calls Arnold to see if he could convince Vicente not to go forth with any more complaints regarding Pancho to the police. Basically, she wants him to retract his complaint.
Lupita and Chela talk about their respective loves.
At the police academy, Tomas receives the highest score of the group on an exam.
At the board meeting, Pancho and Vicente are informed that because of the complaint and needing to resolve their issues in court, they must leave their respective positions as president and vice-president of the company, and new ones must be elected in order for the company to remain in operation. Rebe and Pina would be the candidates.
Ana and Freddy begin realizing how hard this touring life is. Freddy begins to wonder about things. It’s pretty obvious. Franco comes in and has a very serious discussion with Ana, which Freddy overhears. Basically, Ana cannot be distracted by other things…or people. Freddy gets it. Ana doesn’t.
We end the show at the board meeting. Basically, because Pina has stock in the company, she is the candidate who would take over the presidency. Voting is more of a formality at this point. Tomorrow…Pina will be president of Avon!

La Que No Podía Amar #65 Tuesday 3/27/12 Dysfunctional shrews, more secrets revealed, and more puppydog eyes
Dysfunctional shrews, more secrets revealed, and more puppy dog eyes
Before I start with the recap, as promised, here are some gratuitous screenshots of our favorite douchebag, Rogelio Montero, who was looking particularly fetching in the chapel scene from yesterday's episode. (Remember to click on the images to see a larger—HD quality—version.)
Cupcake asks for his sombrero while they're in the chapel. |
Talking about Margarito's adoption. (The camera zoomed in and I got this extra shot, but felt it was a little too gratuitous to post here. But I'll link to it instead!) |
After the adoption thing is resolved, they move outside the chapel, where Rohell asks for his sombrero back . . . |
And the hat is returned to its owner's head! |
This concludes this session of shameless Jorge Salinas fangirlishness. We will shortly return you to the recap for tonight's episode.
(Expect recap later on tonight or in the AM.)
PREVIEW:
Screencap from Cap 65:
Hand porn and puppydog eyes as Rohell beseeches Cupcake to try to love him. |
THE RECAP COMMENCETH: (Note, I condensed some scenes for the sake of my sanity.)
(The first part of the episode was sans English CCs, so again I'm sort of trying to figure out what they're saying from listening. Which isn't my strong suit.)
We return to Effer telling Sinthia that little Margarito is Rohell's natural son. Impactada look from Sin.
Sin tries to persuade Effer not to tell Rohell, but Effer seems pretty determined. He needs to be back at the Hacienda and he needs dinero! He shows Sin the letter he swiped from Ulysses. Sin keeps on trying to grab the letter away from him but he never lets her get her hands on it—he just holds it up for her to see.
Effer is smart enough to not let Sin get her grubby paws on the letter. |
Meanwhile, the unknowing father of Margarito is reading out of a book of horses to Margarito, who is still bedridden. They talk about wild horses. Margarito wants to ride a wild horse but Rohell is horrified, saying he's got to wait until he recovers (plus, riding a wild horse would be, you know, dangerous). Then Margarito mentions that Cupcake told him that Rohell had the chapel fixed up so she could pray for him (Margarito) and that he wants to get better so he can see how pretty the chapel is.
Father reading to son, only neither of them is aware of that at the moment. |
Cupcake comes in with Margarito's milk and (the CCs were messed up here so I missed something) there is some sort of word game (?) I think and then there is something where Rohell is comparing something to Cupcake, which he says is "hermosa" (beautiful) like Cupcake. Rohell flirtatiously says this as he slides a glance at Cupcake. Dimples abound as expected, as their theme song swells.
Flirty Rohell sneaks a sidelong glance at Cupcake. |
Cupcake responds with dimples. |
Rohell gives her a nudge with his elbow and we officially have a flirty moment to lighten the mood. |
A scene between Mersnotty and the Gustavito. More arguing about the truthfulness and trustworthiness of Cupcake and the legitimacy of the contract she signed with Rohell. Mersnotty is still not wanting to buy it—she's clinging to her self-righteous belief that Cupcake is a gold digger. She doesn't want Gustavito to do anything too hastily, and possibly hurt Sin. (I wouldn't be worrying about Sin, myself.)
The letter says that the mother left Margarito with the Monteros because she wanted a better life for him, and that she loved him. She left the letter with Ulyses, since she knew he was a very upright person who would keep his word. And indeed Ulyses had, and had kept the letter safe—and unread—for all this time.
There's stuff I missed because I have no access to CCs right now, but basically Effer announces that Margarito is the only son and HEIR to Rogelio Montero. Sin is impactada all over again.
He tucks the letter in his pocket, hopefully safe away from her. |
It's all about the TOSTITOS: Product placement scenes. I will condense this part which goes on for several scenes. Maria makes a production of preparing some chips and dip, always being sure to place those TOSTITOS products carefully within camera view, and let's makes sure to see that TOSITOS label. And let's stop the action for a moment to savor a bite of the TOSTITOS chip and dip, just like Maria does.
This recap is sponsored by TOSTITOS. |
Tia MentiRosa wants to horn in on Maria's place. She criticizes Maria's work and her cooking. She thinks she can do a better job at running the household. (Somehow she thinks this will give her access to more of Rohell's money.) Maria knows this is completely delusional on Tia's part—Maria has worked in the hacienda all her life, knows all the ins and outs, and besides, she's like a second mother to Rohell and Sin. But arrogant and greedy Tia thinks she's a "fast learner" and can do better than Maria. Maria calls her bluff, hands over her apron and says she's VERY TIRED and so Tia can just take over. Tia immediately makes a mess of cooking dinner.
Back to Sin and Effer, I think Effer is saying that no wonder Rohell wanted to adopt Margarito—he felt the call of the blood! Sin thinks this is ridiculous. It's all Cupcake's fault for some reason. Effer is ready to go give the letter to Rohell (he thinks this will get him back in the Hacienda) but Sin doesn't want him to. She asks if he wouldn't prefer to spend his time in her bed instead. Effer, ever the hormone-addled idiot, goes along with this.
She forbids him to leave to show Rohell the letter. She offers him the comforts of her bed instead. |
More of the bit with Maria and Tia, where Tia thinks she can do a better job, blah blah blah.
Tia is completely DELUSIONAL if she thinks she can fill Maria's sensible shoes. |
Rohell is lying in bed, patiently waiting for his therapy. Cupcake comes in, and is acting a bit shy and strange. She pulls back the blanket that covers his leg as the camera shows an overhead view. You can tell that she's looking at those motionless legs and thinking of what she just learned about how he sacrificed himself for Margarito. Rohell immediately figures out something is up.
She's willing to just give him his drops and forgo the therapy for the evening. She is aware of the pain the therapy causes. He isn't going for this. He tells her when she touches his legs, it causes pain, but when she doesn't touch him, it causes more pain. Then he adds, "I hope that one day that your hands will touch me for love, not out of obligation."
Looking at him with a new awareness of what he sacrificed. |
He hopes that eventually she'll touch him out of love instead of duty. |
A scene with Tia totally blowing dinner, as Miguel, Dani, and eventually Consuelo come in to witness. Consuelo has to take over, because Tia is completely incompetent. It turns out everyone else has already eaten (Maria fixed them something earlier) so Miguel is wondering why Tia is cooking at all. Cute, but FF>>
Ernesto and Mersnotty are at the Macaria's restaurant. He tells her that Rohell has asked him to stay on for a few days while Margarito recovers (and they find out if he'll walk or not). Ernie has no surgeries in Tuxtla, so he can stay on, kick back, and try to win over Mersnotty! She seems happy about this and they smooch.
Macaria comes into the store and confronts Ulyses. She's looking verrrry serious. Condensing the several scenes it takes to get to the point, which is this: She and Maripaz were both going to leave without telling him, and had written a letter to explain where they'd gone. But Macaria figured that 20 years of marriage required that she tell Ulyses face to face what they'd planned. At first he thinks she's bluffing or threatening (amenazar=threaten) but she's serious. If he doesn't accept all of this, Macaria is going to divorce him. Maripaz appears with her suitcase. They're going to go. This shakes up Ulyses enough that he relents. He doesn't want to lose either of them. He wasn't a control freak out of a lack of love, but of fear. They have a big group hug and everyone gets verklempt. In a later scene, Ulyses agrees to let Maripaz go to college; he doesn't want to lose her.
Verklempt. |
During this drama with Ulyses and Macaria, there is another drama: Creepy Rutile (Bruno's worm-scarred henchman) hits on Maripaz again at the restaurant. She is VERY vocal about not wanting him around. He's like, "Who's gonna stop me?" Ernesto was just getting up to leave with Mersnotty, and he materializes behind Maripaz and says, "Me!" He then wrestles Rutile into some sort of arm lock and makes Rutile apologize. Rutile does, but says, "I'll see you again later!" to Maripaz, in the creepiest, most repugnant way possible. Maripaz thanks Ernesto for his help.
We return to Rohell's therapy. Cupcake says they've been doing it long enough; she doesn't want to overtire his muscles. Then she tells him that she knows how he's paralyzed now because he saved Margarito. Rohell says, "Do you understand now why I have conflicted feelings in respect to Margaro?" She does understand—much more now. "I would have done it for anybody" he says. He didn't want anyone to know, didn't want Margarito to know, for fear that Margarito would feel guilty. He's annoyed that Maria spilled the beans to Cupcake.
Cupcake kneels down beside Rohell on the bed and after a long pause, says, "I'm sorry Rogelio, for not being able to love you." She rushes out, leaving a bereft Rohell who now has sadder puppydog eyes than usual.
Sad, sad, sad puppydog eyes. |
An interesting scene between Maria and the Gustavito. She grills him about his feelings for Sin. He says she's a "great woman" but they've barely started dating. Maria commences to warn him off, stopping short of threatening to rip off a significant part of his body if he hurts Sin. Maria says if you can't treat her right, better that you leave this hacienda and never come back.
Maria warning Gustavito that no one messes with one of her baby chicks! |
Sin and Effer are having pillow talk under Sin's gold satin sheets. She's sure that Effer won't tell anyone about the letter. A knock at the door. It's the Gustavito! Sin shushes Effer and has to strong-arm him to get out of the way. He says that if she doesn't want him to show the letter to Rohell, she's got to get rid of that Gustavito guy. She greets Gustavito at the door and they talk in the hallway while she is dressed in a slinky, short dressing gown. The Gustavito wants to make things work out. Blah blah blah. Sin tells Gustavito that they'll take it one step at a time, no pressure. She kisses him and has a strange, confused expression on her face as the kiss ends. Effer listens in and grins as the duped Gustavito talks sincerely to the faithless Sin. After he leaves, Effer mocks the Gustavito's sincerity. Sin doesn't think it's funny. She reminds him that not only does Rohell like Gus, that she likes him too. She needs to marry him to get her inheritance. She then tells Effer that he'll be sharing her bed, but also he'll share her inheritance. (This sounds nefarious!) He replies that the only thing he needs to be her ideal man is money. They grin evil, sinful grins at each other and then start kissing.
Cupcake is telling Dani how the Gustavito wanted her to run away with him, and she almost did it. She then rhapsodizes about when Gustavito kissed her the other day, she felt swept away for a moment and forgot everything else. Then all her obligations came back and she knew she couldn't leave.
Dani is skeptical of Cupcake's reasons for feeling conflicted. She sings the praises of Rohell—how he sacrificed himself to save Margarito, and how no one (other than Maria) knows what he did. Cupcake agrees that Rohell is a great guy and that's why she's gotta fulfill the contract. Dani calls bullshit on this being the only reason she's not running off with the Gustavito. Like, why adopt Margarito, when Cupcake must know that this will tie her to the Rohell forever? Maybe the growing charms of a certain dimpled, reforming douchebag are starting to get to her. Like she's looking for excuses (like adopting Margarito) to stay, rather than leave. Cupcake of course resists at first at the thought of this, saying she loves Gustavito. But Dani suggests that Cupcake also feels a lot for Rohell, and she needs to accept this. Cupcake sighs.
In Rohell's office, Bruno has prepared adoption papers for Margarito. Cupcake comes in and Rohell shows her where to sign the papers. She hesitates for a moment, explaining that she wants to read everything in the contract before signing. Rohell thinks that is fine. Bruno can explain anything she wants to know. Bruno says the main thing is that she has no doubts. She doesn't. She shoots Rohell a look and he smiles back.
After she signs the contract, she says she's excited that Margarito will be calling her "mother," but she's scared of the responsibility. Rohell says he knows that he's got a difficult personality and he knows there are things he can't do, but that together they'll do a lot. Dimples are exchanged as a very sour Bruno looks on.
A bonding moment between the dimpled ones angers Bruno. |
We cut to Vainessa's office, where Sin is ranting and raving about how that evil golddigger Paula has somehow tricked Rohell into adopting Margarito. Sin doesn't want to share her inheritance with Paula and the kid! Vainessa rants along with her. Bruno comes in.
Condensing this part of the story a bit: Bruno has the brilliant idea to call whatever the relevant agency is in Mexico to "report" that an orphan is staying in a very bad situation at the Hacienda, and he's very concerned. He's of course expecting that the authorities will take Margarito away and thwart the adoption attempt. Sin and Vain listen in and grin.
(Blogger is being annoying and won't let me upload more pictures. Well, it just spins and spins. Don't know what's going on. I'm having to figure out a workaround.)
Cupcake and Rohell visit Margarito in his sickbed and tell him that they're going to try to adopt him, but that the process will take time. Margarito is happy about this; he says he wishes he could have found his real parents, but is glad that God send him new ones. Rohell and Cupcake assure Margarito that they love him and just want him to have a good home. Then he asks what his new name will be—Margaro or Margarito? Rohell laughs and says, "Margarito Montero Carmona!" Then Margarito asks if Miguel will be his tio? And also Sinthia will be his tia? There are tense expressions exchanged at that question!
Cupcake laughs at Margarito's innocent questions. |
They're going to be una familia now. |
Dimples from the wheeled one. |
Effer's messing with Macaria (the unfaithful hussy!) on the street. She was looking for him the other day. He says he didn't have money for a motel (?) but stayed with his cousin Luis, who lives at the Rancho la Negra. They smooch on the street.
Bruno's leaving Vain's office. Everyone's pleased because it seems like that phone call he made will soon "resolve" the Margarito issue. He tells Sin and Vain that they can count on him—to never doubt him. He also tells Sin that later on he can maybe help her legally against Rohell. After he leaves, Sin talks about how she needs to persuade Rohell to hire Effer back. Vain wants to know why Sin wants that peon back so much. Sin says because he always takes her side against Rohell. Then Sin says that she's got an idea—a way to use her sister in law. Both witches smile conspiring smiles.
Cupcake and Rohell are talking business in his office. She's taking notes as he discusses cattle. She says she wants to be prepared and learn more of the business. They are readying for this important business with a company in the USA. It's a big deal.
He asks her if she's happy. Yes, she says, because she's learning, and because of Margarito.
Then Rohell turns serious. He tells her that he knows she accepted adopting Margarito for his own sake, but that he (Rohell) is happy too. She's helped him fulfill a dream to have a family.
He then talks about his past. His father was very strict. His mother was submissive in everything, went along with everything, and due to this, Sin had a very bad time. Rohell admits that he hasn't done a very good job with Sin, but after so many years . . . (I think he means, "the damage was already done"). Cupcake replies, "But now you're beginning to change." He agrees, "to get what I always wanted." He then relays how growing up, he saw how Ulysses had such a wonderful relationship with his parents. They were so poor, but so happy. Rohell says he'd trade everything to have that kind of happiness. "And now you give me a chance to live it, thank you Paula." Awww, Rohell . . .
She looks at him thoughtfully as he pours out his soul. |
Soulful puppydog eyes as he thanks her for helping create a family with him. |
Back with Cupcake and Rohell. Cupcake heaves a high school sigh. Rohell wants to know why. It's the same old same old. He asks her, is she saying she can't love him because she doesn't, or because she isn't yet willing to admit to herself how she feels? (He's hit the nail on the head there . . . ) She explains that she knows he's a wonderful man, and if things were different . . . well . . . Rohell says, it's because of the novio. He astutely says it's because she's idealized this guy because he's far away. (Okay, he's not astute about the "far away" part, but definitely spot-on about "idealized.") He takes her hand and implores her: "Tell me what I need to do to get you to love me. No matter how impossible it is, I swear I'll do it!" The "indecision tango" (thank you UA for that) starts to play as Cupcake looks confused and conflicted and a tear rolls down her cheek.
It is hard to resist those puppydog eyes. |
David and Bruno gloat about how they're going to mess things up for Rohell. Rohell's got a new deal in the works to supply meat to a company in the USA, via Vainessa's company. (Sounds to me like both Rohell and Vain's companies will be screwed over.) Then they gloat about stopping the water supply to Rohell's ranch.
Back at Rohell's office: Rohell's clasped Cupcake's hand across his desk. (Hand porn! This novela is full of it!) Cupcake is uncomfortable and doesn't want to talk about love right now. He changes the subject, telling her that Sin is wanting to sell her half of the Hacienda. This is part of the reason why he's held on to Sin's half of the inheritance, he explains, she's so impulsive and apt to short circuit at any time and do something lame-brained like this. He wants to buy her half from her. That's why this business in the Estados Unidos is so important, he says. (Presumably to help fund the purchase of Sin's half of the Hacienda.) Then he talks about how he and Cupcake are a team. This makes Cupcake a bit uncomfortable and she withdraws her hand. Awww, no more hand porn for Rohell. He looks stricken again.
Hand porn! |
Telling her about Sin's possible idiocy in trying to sell her half of the Hacienda. Plus more hand porn. Because he never can get enough. |
A scene between Tia and the Gustavito. Tia is being a true Rogeliana here. She tells Gustavito about the adoption of Margarito. This will tie Cupcake further with Rohell. Guscake already knows about it. He also knows about the contract between Cupcake and Rohell. Tia looks a bit taken aback by that. She reminds him that he's with Sin now. Gus says that he's separated from Cupcake due to Tia. Tia lies about telling him Cupcake was married (when she wasn't at the time) and Gus calls her on it. He intends to tell Cupcake about Tia's manipulations. Tia looks nervous.
A meaningful conversation between Maria and Sin. Maria's pumping Sin for info on her feelings for the Gustavito. Sin really likes him, may even consider marrying him. She likes how he stood up for her with Rohell. But sometimes she wonders if he hasn't forgotten his ex. Maria jumps on that and tells her to be careful, and maybe break up with him. Sin rejects that prospect—no, she's going to get him to fall in love with her! Maria doesn't look all that confident.
Back with Tia and the Gustavito. Tia is telling Gus that things have changed. Is he sure that Cupcake still loves him? (Seriously, dude, I don't get you. You shouldn't be on one hand trying to make things work with Sin, and yet on the other hand insisting that your ex still loves you. Cut one of them loose, now.) Tia rubs it in—she tells Gus to take a hard look at how Cupcake looks at Rohell. He treats her like a queen, they've adopted a kid together. "She was happy, until you arrived!" Tia tells him. "And go tell Rohell that you're Cupcake's ex, and that you hooked up with Sin just to get close to Cupcake!" (Oh whoa, Tia, you play hardball! LOL.) "You're worse than I thought!" Gustavito exclaims. "It would be bad for her," Tia says, "But he would kill you!" Gustavito says, "I don't care, it's better than living like this!" He turns to leave but Tia pulls him back. She reminds him to think of Cupcake, and how would she live with a tragedy like that happening? Impactado look from Gus and we end the episode!
AVANCES:
More bonding and hand porn (and hand kissing) for Rohell and Cupcake. Cupcake tells Dani that she thinks she's in love with both guys. Guscake manhandles Cupcake and doesn't want her to love Rohell too. Here are gratuitous screencaps:
Rohell's really into hand-kissing. |
. . . and more hand-kissing. |
