La Sombra del Pasado #72 Oh Sweet Baby Chihuahuas The Dumbassery Just Keeps Coming!
Lo Nuevo
Emanuel goes to El Santuario to see Aldonza. Lola is there. Cue the theme music. You can tell the spark is still there even if the two of them have their heads too far up their ass to see it and quit playing mind games (thanks for the new toy, hellashelle!) Eman explains that he found out about the break up from Cris. Cris is not doing well. He went and got drunk. Lola tells Eman that Aldonza is asleep and it's probably not a good idea for Eman to see her right now. Adelina comes in with Joaquin as Eman gets ready to leave. Eman and Joaquin decide to ride home together. Joaquin and Adelina say goodbye. Sparks fly between Adelina and Joaquin as well. After Lola explains Eman was there to see Aldonza, Adelina remarks that she's sure that half the town knows the news by now. Lola is worried that Valeria is GOING to take advantage. Little does she know that the advantage has already been took.
Cande knows where Cris is! With Aldonza! She tells Sev this and he responds with "his sister?" It's really hard to convey his sarcasm in writing. Cande tells him not to joke around. She wants to go to El Santuario and find Cris. Sev is quick to volunteer...and he tells Cande to stay put.
The Alcocer cum Lola household is all pajama-ed up and sleeping when Camilo knocks on the door to announce the arrival of Satan (digo...Sev.) Lola is ready to take on Sev all by herself, but Adelina dissuades her. Lola grumbles "What, you don't think I can?" The best part is that Camilo won't actually let Sev in the house. He kind of has to lean over and poke his head in to talk to them. The not so best part is the conversation. He asks where Cris is because he's nowhere to be found. Aldonza thinks if something happened to Cris, it's Sev's fault, not hers. Sev disagrees and says everything is her fault. He curses the day he ever got involved with Aldonza's mother. Adelina shuts him up and tells him to leave. Aldonza collapses on a chair and worries about Cris. She wants to go look for Cris. If anything happens to him she'll die. Adelina talks her out of it.
Cande waits for Cris to arrive. Dominga wants to know where Cris is and tells Cande is a grown man. It's not the first time he's come home late. Cande tells her this is different and to stop asking questions. Dominga tells Cande to rest well...if her conscience lets her. Cande 0. Dom 1.
Joaquin calls Flavia and tells her he's deposited the money and wants to see Little Ray. Flavia tells her when the transfer goes through and she has the cash, they'll talk.
Ok, what is up with Cris and Aldonza always waking people up? I can get behind almost anything they throw at me (I am a La Gata survivor)...but this is REALLY making me dislike them. Aldonza asks Lola to go to Las Animas to find out if Cris made it home. Lola tells her to forget it. She doesn't want to see her grandparents.
Flavia, Adriano and Little Ray head for the bank. Adriano (heavy emphasis on the NO, please) tells Flavia she's behaved like a queen and he will repay her with interest when they pay him the money they owe him. Joaquin catches them kissing. Busted.
Cris wakes up with the worst hangover. But it's nothing compared to the succubus beside him. Ugh. I'm not going to full-on RPC this, but I'm not going to go overboard with the details, either. Cris, needless to say, is a little confused. He doesn't remember a thing. (Every time this trope comes up, we wonder how any man can believe he was drunk enough NOT to remember sex...and if he was that drunk, how did *ahem* things even work?) Val explains that the ran into each other and she offered to give him a ride and he didn't want to be alone. He said he needed her. They spend the night together and Val is so happy. It's just like when they slept together in Spain. She hopes they can try again to get the relationship going. Cris apologizes, hops out of bed and slowly backs away from the crazy lady. He's got to get out of there.
Joaquin and Adriano stand off. Joaquin wants Ray to come with him. He doesn't want his son with some "tipejo"(bum that no one wants around their kids.) Said Tipejo informs Joaquin that he has a name and it's ADRIANO (cue the sound effect...Did you get that Joaquin? Do you need me to spell it? I think it's important.) Fists start flying and Little Ray starts crying and it's heart breaking. This kid is good. The cops drag Joaquin away. In a later scene they let Joaquin go telling him he's lucky because the "couple" didn't press charges. Joaquin is like "couple"? That was my wife!
Cris comes down the stairs of the Zapata house buttoning his pants. Humberto is less than pleased. Pru tries to intervene and Hum calls her an alcahuete (go between or pimp. It's a pretty popular world in Telenovelandia.) Cris defends her. Hum throws Cris out and heads up to Val's room. He is scandalized that Val would let Cris spend the night with her and he's furious that Pru was an accomplice and allowed it. Val tells her father that it wasn't her mother's fault. Val owns up to it. Hum tells her that she will respect his house. Val brushes him off and tells him to chill. It's not like this is the first time she slept with Cristobal. Hum turns around and blames Pru for giving into every one of Val's whims. He tried to instill values but it didn't matter. Oh Val decides to get all high and mighty and reminds her dad that he's not the pillar of rectitude either. Hum admits it and says that's exactly why he wanted a different life for Valeria. After he leaves, Val is not that concerned about his anger. She got exactly what she wanted.
Sorry. RPC time. Pato runs into Eman in the town square and yells at him for standing Mari up. Don't worry about her Pato...go make nice with Silvia. I like that couple better.
Has Slivia been keeping the Caja de Caramelos on her desk the whole time? Apparently he (I assume it's a he) is her therapist. She wonders aloud how Renato can expect to build a fim foundation on the ruins of a broken relationship. Renato comes to talk to her. She doesn't even know who he is any more. The conversation is interrupted by a call from Joaquin. He reports the events with Flavia. He does not mention Adriano's name. Renato leaves.
Oh, look. RPC again. Eman goes to see Mari. She tries to slam the door. He blocks with his hand. Ow. Ow. Ow. Blah Blah Blah. Kiss. Kiss. Kiss. I'm annoyed because they do make a cute couple and I'd actually rather they be together so they can take care of the baby at Las Animas when hopefully Val dies. But that's not going to happen.
Aw Geez. Hum goes to see Sev. Satan and his mistress are busy worrying about Cris and they tell Hum that. Hum informs them that Cris is safe. He spent the night with Valeria. Cande looks like she's fighting the urge to jump up and down and clap her hands. She asks "you mean they….?" Hum confirms what she's thinking. I throw up a little bit. She is waaay to into Cris's sex life. Hum demands that Cris marry Val as soon as possible. Her reputation is at stake. Cande and Sev exchange conspiratory glances.
Cris goes to see Eman to find out what happened the night before. Eman tells Cris "te pusiste hasta las chanclas"--got krunk. I kid you not I found it translated that way. Oh, some kid will ask me how to say this next year and I will have to fight the urge to make a teachable moment out of this irregular preterite and reflexive verb. Ahem. Where was I? Eman explained that Cris got drunk, Val almost ran over them, she offered to give Cris a ride and that's the last Eman saw of him. Cris fills in that Val told him that he said he didn't want to go home and wanted to stay with Val. Cris thinks it's odd that he would say that. Eman does to. The next thing he knew, Cris was waking up in Val's bed. Cris does some more whining about him and Aldonza possibly being siblings. Then he whines about going home.
Aldonza is still worried about Cris. Adelina is sure Cris is fine. If something had happened, they would already know what with the way news travels in this town. Aldonza is sure Cris is suffering. Adelina comforts. Aldonza notes how ironic it is that she always wanted a sister or brother and now it turns out that Cris is her brother. Adelina suggests they go back to the DF for a few days. Aldonza nixes the idea. She will not run from Sev.
Lola and Eman run into each other outside the house. She's headed to work and he offers her a ride. Lola asks if they can stop by Las Animas on the way. Aldonza asked her to stop by and ask about Cris. Eman tells Lola about Cris staying with Valeria. Of course Aldonza overhears. It's standard TN operating procedure. Whazzat? Is that groaning from the patio? Hey, bartender! Set up a round for my Sombra peeps. Necesitamos ponernos hasta las chanclas….¡Qué barbaridad!
Cris interrupts the Sev, Cande and Hum pow wow. He graciously agrees to marry Val...except ooops! He's already married. He starts to explain but Sev tells him not to talk about family problems. Cris thinks Hum should be interested. In fact everyone should know that Sev had an affair with Roberta and that Cris and Aldonza might be siblings. Hum is cara de what you say? Cande tells Cris they are there to solve a problem he created. They need to come up with a way to diminish the damage he did to Val. Cris doesn't know how they will do that. Cande and Cris leave the room, allowing Hum to ask "What is this about them being siblings?" Sev says nothing is sure, but it's possible.
Poor Eman is so worried about spilling the beans. Aldonza says there's not need. She told Cris to get with Val. She just didn't think it would be so soon. Lola tries to comfort her, but Aldonza asks to be alone. Eman still frets and Lola comforts him. She suggests they give Aldonza some time. Lola will ask Irma if she can leave work a little early to go check on Aldonza. Lola still wants a ride to Las Animas. Might as well talk to Cris and see what he says. He may not remember anything, but he might with the slaps she's going to give him.
Aldonza cries in her room. I am distracted by the pillow. Is that knitting or Tunisian crochet?
Lola goes to Las Animas and rudely declares she's not there to see Dom or Mel. Dome asks why she came, then (¿A qué venisteS? Has anyone noticed how consistently Dom adds an "s" to her preterite tú forms of verbs? It's a common mistake and I love how much it adds to her character. Just me? Ok. Never mind.) She's there to see Cris. Lola makes to leave. Dom asks how things are going. Lola answers brusquely that Adelina has been good to her. At least Lola asks about Dom, too. Dom asks if Lola will at least say hello to her grandfather. Lola refuses, but a worker runs in to say Mel got sick. They all run out.
Meh. Flavia and Adriano. They gotta get out of town. Joaquin is never gonna let up until Little Ray is back with him. Adriano agrees. No one from SL can know where he is. Flavia finds that a little odd since she's the one with charges filed against her. Ok. Points for Adriano. He tries to talk Flavia into leaving Little Ray with his dad. Flavia refuses. Adriano asks her to think about how it would be for Ray to see her arrested.
Mel brushes off the attentions of Dom, Lola and the other workers. Lola thinks he should take it easy. Mel doesn't think she has a right to say a thing considering she barely talks to him and Dom. Lola and Mel both put on their stubborn hats. Mel asks someone to walk her out. She says she knows the way. Everyone disperses. Dom tells Mel he was hard on Lola (FuisteS muy duro…. there it is again) Lola was just worried. Mel says he's fine, but Dom knows he's not. He has to get back to work. He's got more to do now that Eman and Cris are gone.
Padre goes to the clinica. He asks a nurse if he can ask help her with something. We aren't privy to the conversation.
Cande assures Cris they can get the marriage annulled. That isn't the problem, Cris says. He doesn't love Val. He loves Aldonza and what he feels can't just go away. Cande thinks Val could help him forget Aldonza. It's obvious he can still see Val as a woman. He slept with her. He can't use her or disregard her honor. He can't get drunk and depressed, sleep with Val and then toss her away like an old rag. He needs to make an honest woman out of her. Cris plays along. Ok. He'll marry Val...as soon as he sees a positive test result on a DNA test. Get Sev to agree to the test.
Adelina finds out from Lola about Cris and Val. And Lola tells her about the scene with her grandfather. Adelina tells Lola that Aldonza went for a walk to El Santuario.
Sev tries to convince Hum they can annul Cris marriage with no problem...but they are interrupted by Padre J. Padre J is glad they are all together. He wants Sev to submit a sample for a DNA test. Padre J wants it run against Aldonza and Eman. Cande asks what Emanuel has to do with anything. Padre J tells her a lot. He thinks Emanuel is the son of Sev and Roberta Lozada!

"I possibly do not understand all the secret unwritten rules here. "
The rules aren't secret and they've all been put in writing. They were all created by Jane, our BlogMom. They are as follows:
1. No spoilers. A spoiler contains any comment that alludes to something that will happen in upcoming episodes. We are often weeks behind the Mexico broadcasts and those can often be found online. If you've watched ahead, refrain from saying anything about what's coming. Even "I've watched ahead and you won't believe what's going to happen" is considered a spoiler. Stick to the episode we are discussing.
2. No talking about the actors' personal lives.
3. Acknowledge the recap, but don't criticize it or the recapper. Please see this post about the care and feeding of a recapper and this post about etiquette.
It doesn't matter if you read the recap or not. It doesn't matter if the recap 5,000 words or 500, someone watched the show, translated the episode from Spanish to English, wrote a summary and posted it for you so you would have a space to talk with others about the show. If you can't think of what to say, "thank you." is sufficient. Adulation is optional.
We welcome your comments. The more the merrier, but please follow the guidelines. If you are an Anon, please consider signing off with some sort of handle. It's so much nicer to address a name than "Anon12:43"

I don’t know about y'all but this was a fairly boring episode in which the FFWD--> button was engaged regularly. Aldonza lines……Adelina lines….. Eman lines …. Vile lines .... blah blah blah
The only excitement I felt was:
1.) Candy house sighting!
2.) Melesio having another health scare and right at that moment, my local Looneyvision channel went to the classic Test Pattern. The rainbow screen of channel death! Gaaah! I did not come unglued *only* because I knew our faithful recapper would chronicle the events. Thank you again, Sara!
It was kind of a dull episode. I really didn't need to give it all the coverage I did, but it's summer vacay so I can stay up later ;-)
I'm kind of afraid they are building up to something horrible with Mel.
I could not stop laughing that the translation for Eman's saying was "get krunk." LOL!! I love it. I would love to hear how your students react to that saying and that translation. :)
I love how Padre doesn't get a crap and just puts it all out there. He has the three people who committed the crime of the missing baby in front of him-- Sever, Hum, and Cande. Let's see who looks the most guilty when he outright accuses them of stealing and hiding Eman all these years.
Does Hum really believe that Val marrying Cris will make an honest/decent woman out of her? Too late, Doc!
OMG! I had tears in my eyes when they showed little Ray bawling as he watched Adriano fight his dad. Get that kid back to his father!
OMG yes! Little Ray was just pitiful. I honestly started to think they must have done something terrible to get him to cry so realistically.
I could not watch little Ray, it just wasn't fair. I know it is just a show but I hate to see the little ones in such pain. Shame on Flavia.
Loved PJ dropping the bomb on Cande & Co. I hope she has a stroke.
I am afraid that even Duck Tape could not fix the Dumbassery tonight.
Rosemary Primera
I felt so sorry for the little boy. I personally think he was crying for real and was traumatized by the fighting. Maybe he wasn't properly prepared for the scene.
I just knew Val was going to try to blame Cris as the father of her baby. I wasn't able to watch too much, but was Pru in on this scheme?
Ann-NYC
Ann-NYC: I guess Pru was in on it? She knew Val was pregnant and she knew Val brought home a drunk Cris. Yet I still suspect she'll play innocent and Val will have explain it to her.
Hum ,is such a funny man he thinks his daughter should act like a proper young lady. Has she had any examples to go by?
His wife Is a cheat, and he has helped sev with so many cover ups. Did he really think his life would normal? Maybe I'll give another comment tomorrow right now I gotta go to bed its almost 12 o'clock midnight. I will give another comment tomorrow. I'm just off my game, cause it's late. Nite nite!
I also loved Mel giving Lola the cold shoulder! Good for him! Let her sashay her ass on back to where she came from until she can sit and talk to them like an adult and apologize for showing them that same ass! Dom told her she'd rather suffer the pain of thinking her mother dead than knowing that she abandoned her. That matches with finding out the random "nice lady" that wants to be her friend is Sev's whore. Get a clue, silly ass!
I really agree with Tofie's comments over the past couple of days about Aldonza: how she's NEVER done ANYTHING to cement, fortify or defend her relationship with Cris, runs at the drop of a staged kiss or lie. Now, she has told him to take a hike again, even told him to get with Val and, like Tofie, I GUFFAW HEARTILY in her general direction over her distress that precious Cris might be hurt. . ."oh, oh, let me go look for him. . .what!? He slept with Val! Oh, Dios Mio Por qué??" Pronounce the portion in quotes with a butt-reamingly annoying nasally whine.
STFU AL-DUNCE-AH!
Aldonza notes how ironic it is that she always wanted a sister or brother and now it turns out that Cris is her brother. YOU IDIOT!!! Padre and Adelina have assured you that Big Ray is your Dad but you're going to take the word of your rapist and his psychotic, harpy, obsessed with the adventures of her son's wee-wee wife as WORD in the matter! You won't look into whether a DNA test can be done without Sev. What do you need, a hidden sex tape with a time stamp so you can see Ray plant the seed?!
Gosh dang it! I hate when they make me lose respect for the leads like this! And yes, this old bullshit where neither the big head nor the little head remembers what happened. . .give me a ****ing break! Yet, the idiot is going to turn around and accept the fruit of this slut's womb as his own? Loved the comment yesterday about the 12 pound preemie! As a matter of fact LOVED yesterday's recap, thank you Helleshelle and the scathing, funny and brilliant discussion in the comments!
Dumbassery, indeed! Uuuuf! These people drive me crazy!!
Waaah! I wish I could hang out more on the patio! I'm here, though quiet, hanging out at Padre J's table -- LOVE THIS MAN!! or with Silvia, Dom, Melisio or trying to talk some sense into Renato's head.
Oh yea! Little Ray's crying was totally real, no doubt. Flavia's a skank and I hope she gets locked up for her association with Adriano even though I don't think she knows about Lardo's murder. And wow, Jock's eyes sho' were purdy last night!
Thanks, Sara! Gotta get some breakfast, will try to cheat at work to see what others think about this nutso SL crew! Later!
"Cris comes down the stairs of the Zapata house buttoning his pants. "
This was a QTH??? moment for me. Cris, really? Give this guy the doofus award for the week. Either that, or he was still slightly drunk.
"Little does she know that the advantage has already been took"
"Adriano (heavy emphasis on the NO, please)"
"She is waaay to into Cris's sex life"
Thankfully, I spent an hour meditating in my garden this morning and all OM'd out. I need reminding of impermanence. The giddy high I was on could not last forever. Breathe deeply tofie, let it go.
Adriano - no, not the side of the road, we'll leave him at the pound
Cande - all night? how many times?
Silvia - whistle-blowers join the ranks of the unemployed
Cris - "Gloom Despair & Agony on Me" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXysRO11Xi8
Aldonza - infidelity, now I got grounds for divorce
Severiano - that's my boy, can't keep it in his pants
Val - chaste makes waste
Emmanuel - try sewing your lips together
I find it ridiculous that Cris couldn't tell if he had sex with Val or not. If he didn't have a shower after his sexy time with her, there should be some 'evidence' that he did.
Why didn't the nurse tell PJ that they don't need Sev's DNA to do a test to see who's related to whom?
Cathyx - haha! Your comment makes me think of a great tag line. "Recappers- watching the crap so you don't have to!"
Cris was wearing his scapular! Therefore, sex with Val could not have taken place. (Maybe only Dom would recognize the significance of this.)
Didn't Renato stomp out of Silvia's office in a snit? Isn't Joq paying the firm for Silvia's work? Has Renato submitted any billable hours lately?
Aldonza always wanted a sibling? Compliments of Sev, she's going to get her wish.
I loved the part where Dom tells Cande to rest - if her conscience will let her.
". . .how did things *ahem* even work?" Yeah. I don't have any personal experience with this situation, and the only other time I remember seeing it happen was in "The Way We Were" where a very drunk Robert Redford boinks a more than willing Barbara Streisand.
Thanks again, Sara. Hope your summer is shaping up to be memorable.

How idiotic that Aldonza just assumes that Sev and Cande, the two people who want to break Cris and Aldonza up the most, are telling the truth. As an outsider looking in, if someone told me this story, I would then reply that it sounds to me like Aldonza is just using this as an excuse to break up with Cris. That maybe she's worried that she can never truly get past the rape and deep down she feels this is for the best. (I'm not saying that that is what I think Aldonza is really doing, I'm speaking as an outsider here).
But I can't stand the way Aldonza takes everything to the nth degree and then cries about it. I just want her make sure of things before she takes the next serious step and she won't do that. If she were my daughter I would slap some sense into her.
LOL!!!
"Your comment makes me think of a great tag line: "Recappers- watching the crap so you don't have to!" "
Isn't that the truth! This is sidebar-worthy.
I think it is in the telenovela rules that the protagonists always believe the lies of the baddies.
I'm not impressed with Michelle Renaud at all and makes it even more difficult for me. Now, I give her props for being able to pull off a little girl lost, wandering into the middle of interstate 95, spinning as traffic whizzes past and sobbing non stop.
I'm not impressed with Michelle Renaud at all and makes it even more difficult for me.
Aw. I like Michelle. I will take her crying and nth degree-ing over Angelique Boyer's any day of the week. :-P
Will this is all over, I am going to find some El Manantial videos. I want to compare Adelia Noriega's crying to Michelle's.
As tropey and doldrumy as this has gotten it's still not La Gata. Hee hee. There are still characters I really like: Padre J, Adelina, Irma and Dom for example. I do wish they hadn't gone with the usual cliches, but I still feel entertained.
They do need to start focusing on some of the other stories, though. We kind of all now how the Cris/Aldonza/Val thing is going to play out, so let me see more candy house, Silvia and Pato.
Maybe I am more tolerant of Michelle because she is new. If 5 years later she seems the same, then I might change my mind. I do like her genuineness.
I also loved the way Melesio gave Lola the cold shoulder and gave her a dose of her own medicine. I hope nothing happens to him though before she can right this wrong with her grandparents. ...and I wonder what happened to Viviana/Simoneta. Is she still in town? Did she leave? Will Dom/Mel find out that she was Sev's mistress, the one who was on the phone when Cande picked up and freaked out in front of Dom? When will this story pick back up?
Thanks Sara for the fabulous recap. You added so much detail and captured everything.
Linda - I kinda wonder about Sim/Viv too. Was that all there was for her character?
I do miss SG, but the Roberta character made my blood boil. Whores have no business taking advantage of good men and then having daughters whom they mistreat or ignore.
Well, we're back in the Land of Cliches and Valeria will play this for all it's worth. I have to think that Padre J has just put his life in danger by stepping right into the next of vipers and making this demand. What should happen is Cris going to a lawyer (someone we don't yet know) and issuing a subpoena for Sev's DNA. This puts both his parents on notice that they can't pull this crap with him.
As for him "making an honest woman of Valeria", puh-leeez. Not even Saint Augustine could do that.
Joaquin must be out of the loop about Abelardo because Adriano's name meant nothing to him. However, he will mention it to someone sooner or later and someone will be on that hood's tail. However, I will also say that Adriano is even too good for Flavia.
Poor little Ray.
Didn't get to comment yesterday because of my various computer problems, but I bought a new -- and better -- chill pad. One thing I will say about Tuesday's episode is that does anyone think we got a foreshadowing of Sev's Karmageddon out of his own mouth?
I'm going to stick up for Rob. I think she is much more complex than a simple whore character. Not sure if you were around at the beginning, but we had a lot of conversation about her.
Hope your new chill pad works!
And to believe two of the biggest in town, really? Where is her brians. Maybe they left town with simoneta.
This bunch is incredibly irritating. Nobody is thinking. Well padre J is, and maybe adilena. Hey, they could do a fantasy dream scene where ally goes to sleep, her parents come to her, and tell her "pull your head out of your but and fight these liars. And stop whimppin out, listen yto your uncle & aunt. And then she Roberta could slap her say "snap out if it". It could happen.
It's just exhausting watching ally and cris. Next week has got to be better than this week. We can only hope.
Que Vive Don Camilo. I love how he only needed his arm and a look of warning to keep Sev from crossing the threshold.
"It's just like when they slept together in Spain." Oh really, Val? You had to get him drunk and rape him then, too?
"Fists start flying and Little Ray starts crying and it's heart breaking." The crying was uncomfortably realistic!
I disliked how the last conversation between Renato and Silvia basically consisted of him telling her that he doesn't want her around anymore, and then he walks in and asks "Are you still mad at me?" Como que "Are you still mad?" How about "I'm sorry I treated you like the hired help instead of the partner I asked you to be." I nearly kicked him in the shins for that.
"I throw up a little bit. She is waaay to into Cris's sex life." Word.
"Necesitamos ponernos hasta las chanclas….¡Qué barbaridad!" Word. *siiiiiiigh*
I don't know how he does it, but even when Cris is being sarcastic and sticking it to his parents, like he did in this episode with the whole "Yeah, I'm already married...how about that DNA test?" he still manages to come off borderline clueless. I think it's the eyebrows.
I vote the pillow was knitted and I bet I can reverse engineer it.
Anyone got an armchair diagnosis for Melesio?
"Points for Adriano. He tries to talk Flavia into leaving Little Ray with his dad." Yeah, I actually liked him for saying that!
It's, uh, possible that Joaquin's eyes were more delicious than yesterday's cake.
Not much time today to keep checking in so hit my points now. To me last night was somwehat frustrating. I don't really want to have to watch Allie become a weepie waterworks on a daily basis, so hoping once this first hit is over, she pulls up her bootstraps and just goes back to Mis Plans. Start planting girl, your losing time.
Cris was sort of funny to his parents and Hum with the attitude with the "who the hell knows what is going on" thing. Cande was disgusting, and gee, was that a concerned look on Sev's face? He actually realizes he may have raped his own daughter. Yep, there would be a REALLY special place in Dante's Inferno for that kind of lunatic. Marshmallows anyone?
So Allie, you couldn't just call Dominga (the house) and see if Cris was there? You have to wake poor Lola--that was soooooo wrong. But at least Lola was there for her gramps. Mel looks horrid, Dominga should say something to Hum or Sev at least.
Ok, so if E-man, lord love him, is supposedly pining away for Lola still--he sure as shootin' was getting the mack on with Mari. And not because she was pushing on him either. I don't know about these young 'uns anymore.
I want Flavia off my screen and I want her gone NOW! Most annoying actress and character on the show. End it. I LOVED the shade that little guy was throwing at Adriano and Flavia as they discussed what to do with him. Like "hello...I'm sitting right here and I'm not 2 anymore".
Daisynjay
Daisy - Sev says he and Roberta started their affair when she was already pregnant with Aldonza, so he's certain he's not the father. Unless now he's doubting that too? Maybe she wasn't showing yet so he's not sure?
Ok, what is up with Cris and Aldonza always waking people up? They're selfish. At least this time, Aldonza had kind of a pretty good reason and waited until morning. The middle of the night wake ups are a little much.
Apparently he (I assume it's a he) is her therapist. I love this! I just love it! Dr. Candy House. Oh, he would do so well in this town. Maybe Aldonza does need to end up with it for a while. Even a candy therapist is better than no therapist, right?
The most frustrating part of the night to me was that the good guys lined up to get hit and then gave instructions: Cris saying he'll marrying Val is the DNA test shows that he an Aldie are sibs and then PJ insisting that Eman get tested too. GAH! That's not even a hard switch to make! And will it make a difference that E and Aldie are different genders, or does that not matter? (With the scientific knowledge shared between everyone in this town, will anyone even think to ask?) I'm crossing my fingers so hard that PJ went to ask the nurse to run two sets of DNA tests!
her conscience lets her. Candy 0 Dom. 1 --- I'm a La Gata survivor. LOL on that one. Hey, I'll survive with Matie any day.
So you guys want to throw Michelle Renaud and Angelique away crying and all. Well I have two shoulders ant they can cry on my shoulders anytime. The gringo will comfort them.
Urban you're so funny---Making an honest woman out of Valeria- please, not even St. Augustine could do that.
Boring enough to FFWD. The gringo would NEVER do that.
A Question---Didn't Silvia get fired? Why is she still working at the law office?
Another question---What did Vile say to Aldonza at the close of last night?
Doris---Your comments flying off into cyberspace has happened to me before. I don't know what key causes that nerve wracking problem.

Also, Flavia has been promoted to a Class 1 Bee-otch. Unbe-freakin'-livable! She had the nerve to just not even be ashamed of herself! No apologies, no nothing! Her reason for taking Ray were clearly squat, and now she's fleeing with him so she really will be openly kidnapping him! And WHY didn't Joaquin go with the cops, or say something to the cops when they were dragging him away? That was a beanie moment for me. He's already pressed charges on the woman, why didn't he bring that up earlier. And WHY did the cops just shrug when he told them that?! QTH?! He JUST SAID the woman's a kidnapper! DO SOMETHING! THAT IS YOUR JOB! At the very least, the should've contacted the SL authorities to give them that info. Seriously, SBC but WTF?!
Ok, rant over.
Superficial thing I noticed: that kiss between Flavia and Adria-hell-NO was...not good.
Aldonza and Cris actually reacted better than I thought. At least Cris went to Eman to see if he could figure out what happened, and didn't just blindly assume Val was telling the truth. At least both guys recognize that whatever did happen, Val was 100% behind it and at least Cris said "does that sound like something I'd say/do" in response to Val telling him that he wanted to be with her and didn't want her to leave him alone (although, after news like he got yesterday, it's really not that inconceivable. Pun intended.)
As for Aldonza, at least she pointed out that she herself made the dumbass move to tell Cris to go after Val and clarified that while it hurts, it really hurts that he listened so quickly. And I don't think her reaction is that off on that part, just on the not seeking the truth part.
For both of them, they didn't JUST get this news yesterday. From the way Aldonza was talking last night, maybe PJ was right and having a night to sleep (or toss and turn) on it did at least help to calm the waters some. After all, she woke up wanting to have Cris around and again thinking she shouldn't just run from all of her problems (though her follow through on that point as been pathetic at best).
Question: Aldonza said she was staying to start the farm and then Adelina asked about her revenge plans. Are they not the same thing?
I think there are some state difference in the US and that intent of the offending parent also plays a part. Because if your better half sudedenly becomes your crazy half by disappearing with your kid, there must be something you can do, right?
"Because if your better half suddenly becomes your crazy half by disappearing with your kid, there must be something you can do, right?" HellaShelle, I'm curious about this, too. As for why the cops were all "Whatever. Just don't get into another fight, 'k?" maybe...Joaquin didn't bring his paperwork showing the charges?
Tofie - true, but I'm giving her points for at least wanted to see Cris and admitting she wants him near. I know: why? Because she still they need to get the annulment because she still thinks he could be her brother, but isn't just running away with her hands over her ears this morning (which frankly, I might do if I had found out yesterday that I might have married my brother and been raped by my father). She's still a million points behind because she isn't actively fighting for the blasted DNA test (because, seriously, you're going to let your rapist and his crazy wife scare you off of "the love of your life" when there's a very obvious, simple way of clearing this mess up? You'd rather spend the next 80 years without him? Without even being sure it's necessary? WTF Aldonza! You don't deserve him). It's sad that her actions are better than I expected, because they're still crappy, but again, better than I expected.
PS: Has anyone seen the episode of House like this?
"TheM the benefit of the doubt"
"wantING to see Cris and admitting she wants him near"
"she still THINKS they need to get the annulment"
"brother. At least this morning she isn't just running"
I'll put that on the list of "things that are keeping me tuned in"...I must know when the mystery of the Casa de Caramelos will be revealed! Who is Dona Marga's mysterious suitor! What happened to him? Is there still a chance for them? Is the ring still in there? Who will find it?
Please let this be a good reveal!
(Is Vivi on the patio yet?)

"...it's going to be really funny seeing them in church looking so proud like cris and vile are so madly in love. Do yall think padre J will be able to marry these two in (HOLY MATRIMONY) might as well be holy macaroni..."
Yikes! I hope they just have a civil matrimony, not in the church. Otherwise Val has to die...which isn't terrible, but I don't like the idea of Cris having a church wedding before it's Aldonza.

Ditto. They've been ignoring it lately.

The cops did say "why didn't you tell us?" Joaquin said "You didn't give me a chance!" LAME.
And perfect rant. Loved it.

You took the words out of my mouth. E-man is encouraging Mari and that ain't cool.

"I loved Susana Gonzales' portrayal of her, and if there were things about Roberta I didn't like, they had nothing to do with whether or not she exchanged sex for money as a way to make a living."
When it comes to Roberta, I sort of cringe when we throw repeatedly throw around the word "whore" like it's nothing.
1. Because she was a complex character and
2. It takes two for whorin' and it totally ignores the males in the equation. Every male that got involved with Roberta (especially the married ones) weren't FORCED to accept Roberta's attentions. That's also why I hate the general SL attitude about Roberta, Cande's in particular. Men are more than a walking penis with no impulse control.

It really is.

And light candles to the Virgencita. Por favor Madre Nuestra, apiadate de nosotros.
Was it just me or did Pru look like maybe even she was worried about the kind of person Val is after Hum made his big speech and Val literally said she didn't care because she got what she wanted?
Oh I can't wait for it to come out that Val had an affair with Lardo, tried to pass his kid off as Cris' and used it to trap Cris into marriage AND Pru's having an affair (with a kid young enough to be her son, though that part's neither here nor there imo, but I know it'll be gravy in SL).
Was it weird to anyone else when Cris told his mom that he still wanted Aldonza as a woman?
