¿Qué nos cuenta, Caray, Caray!? (December 21, 2015)

Hola Carayites!

In this week's edition:

This week on Caray, Caray!...

Yo No Creo En Los Hombres (10pm-Uni) is in ultimas, with El Hotel de los Secretos scheduled to begin in January.  Bajo el Mismo Cielo and Señora Acero 2 (Telemundo) are also in ultimas, with Señora giving way to La Querida del Centauro on January 12.

Other shows are following their usual schedules: Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse (7pm), Antes Muerta Que Lichita (8pm), Pasión y Poder (9pm), and La Vecina (afternoons) on Univision and Qué culpa tiene Fatmagül? and Celia on Telemundo.

UPDATE: All evening shows on Univision and Telemundo have been pre-empted for 12/24.  Univision resumes regular programming 12/25.  Telemundo appears to be pre-empting some, but not all, shows on the 25th (if anyone has further details, please let us know!)

On 12/31, all evening shows on Univision and Telemundo are being pre-empted, along with Fatmagul, but La Vecina will still air in the afternoon.  Again, Univision resumes regular programming on the 1st, while Telemundo is doing something funky, mixing up their regular shows with some movies.

While the premiere date for El Hotel de los Secretos has been announced as January 25 (please see the synopsis here and email me if you're interested in recapping) Yo No Creo en Los Hombres will be ending somewhat earlier than that.  No word yet on what Uni will air to fill that hour.

Special Proximas update from Stevey...

There's a Televisa production in the works, I have no idea what it's going to be like, but it's title is 'Yago, Pasion, y Venganza' and the producer is Carmen Armendariz. I include this because confirmed for this project are Ivan Sanchez (as the male lead), Flavio Medina, and Ximena Romo (youth antagonist in 'El color de la pasion', which we're STILL waiting for!!). While not looking likely to appear States-side, I still wanted to let people know about it who might be fans of any of those actors.

In other- 'not-telenovela' news, but still of possible interest to people...

THE GOOD NEWS- Carla Estrada is working on her latest drama!! :-)
THE BAD NEWS- It isn't a telenovela. :-(

What it IS going to be is called "En la vida de... Joan Sebastian", and I believe it's going to be like what Telemundo did with 'Celia'. Technically, a 'bio-series', it will be about the life of musician & actor Joan Sebastian, with much focus on his (5 year) relationship with the actress Maribel Guardia.

Two of Joan Sebastian's sons will be playing their father- Julian Figueroa will play Joan when he was younger, and Jose Manuel Figueroa will be Joan when he is an adult. Mike Biaggio is also attached to this project in some way. In the role of Maribel Guardia (who is still acting, and can currently be seen in 'Muchacha italiana viene a casarse' in the role 'Julieta') will be none other than Livia Brito.

While this may be good news to some of you, for someone like myself who has been WAITING for the return of Sra. Estrada to telenovelas, I can only ask... "WHY, CARLA? WHY???"

Also, just in the interests of completeness, a minor correction regarding the upcoming 'Como tres gotas de agua'... Daniel Arenas is no longer attached to this project. He was dumped for Javier Jattin, who was dumped (for being a diva... apparently he demanded first credit and Angelli Nesma told him to take a hike) for Pedro Moreno (who was recently in 'Amor de barrio'). The three galans of Boyer, Boyer, and Boyer (phew! Too many Angelique's for my liking...) will be Sebastian Rulli, David Zepeda, and Pedro Moreno (with Carlos de la Mota also in the fray somewhere). Lucero is also NOT in this project, as had been previously rumored (somewhere).

'Eva, la trailera' is ready to go, and is getting hyped. Joining the aforementioned triumvirate of Edith Gonzalez (protagonista), Arap Bethke (galan, a detective), and Jorge Luis Pila (villain- protagonista's husband) will be the always fabulous Erika de la Rosa, Henry Zakka ('Big O' in 'Reina'), Sofia Lama, Roberto Mateos, Paloma Marquez, and others. As I believe I mentioned before, this is an original story by Valentina Parraga and NOT an adaptation of a Mexican film with a similar name. Martha Godoy is the producer. Here's what the press release says:

"Edith will be playing Eva Soler a woman of imposing beauty who has worked hard to support her family as a truck driver, a trade she learned early on the road with her father, who made his living the same way. Through ambition and perseverance, she rises through the ranks to become the owner of the “Mon-sol” trucking empire. Despite her newfound wealth, Eva remains a humble person who understands that life is like an endless road that asks us to make constant decisions about the right direction to take. It is this understanding that will help her face life’s most difficult challenges.
Pila will co-star playing Armando Montes, Eva Soler’s husband, whose friendly façade hides a selfish and vain man with a violent nature who ends up causing great harm to his family. He finds a rival for Eva’s love in Pablo Contreras (Bethke), a responsible young detective with strong moral values who brings a new sense of hope to Eva’s life."

This marks, of course, Sra. Gonzalez's big return to Telemundo since 'Dona Barbara', but she was hardly idle in that time, being a part of some really terrific TV Azteca novelas in that absence (check out 'Cielo Rojo' most especially! It was her first novela with Azteca and co-starred Mauricio Islas. It was a huge success, and is a FANTASTIC novela by any standard, and at any network).

Alas, I don't know when 'Quien es quien?' is going to be greeting us. It debuted down Mexico way around the end of October (they're 41 capitulos in, to be exact), and people are professing to like it, calling it great fun! But who knows with those bozos at Telemundo????

Finally, 'El senor de los cielos' is gearing up for season 4.  Star Rafael Amaya is definitely a-go, however... NOT so, apparently, Blanca Soto (as it appears that there may NOT, in fact, be a 'Senora Acero 3')

That's it for now! More news as I come by it! Best wishes to all!!! :-)

Gracias, Stevey!

In general blog news...

This weekend, I added index pages for Pablo Escobar, Rosa Diamante, and Corazón Valiente to the sidebar and updated our existing links for Corazón Salvaje, Mi Pecado, and Un Gancho al Corazón to point to the new index pages for those shows.  So that puts us at 77/109 shows indexed.

If there are any technical issues or something doesn't look right, let me know!

Gracias, Stevey! Remember we need to avoid gossip about the stars' private lives. As you said, we don't really care what may have been going on, outside of whether he's on board for the project or not.

Shit! Sorry Diva! I forgot. :-(

I'll move it up to the post body when I get a minute and just edit that out :D If that's ok.

Thanks, Stevey! I had heard on Telenovela World that Quien es Quien was coming to the US after Celia. Hopefully someone on the Telemundo thread knows and can tell us.

I'm kind of bummed to hear there may not be a Señora Acero 3. I actually like that show.

I'm really looking forward to Eva la trailera.

It seems Como 3 gotas de agua won't follow Lazos de Amor that closely, when Rulli spoke about his character in an interview it didn't sound like his backstory had anything to do with the original. Zepeda seems like a good fit for Orlando Miguel's character though, and I like him best when he plays darker roles so I hope they don't change the character much.

Hey, great! Thanks for the info, Sara!! :-)

GOD, 'El hotel de los secretos' looks good!!! Here's the latest promotional video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxosINhMT9s&feature=youtu.be

I checked out the promo video on Hotel and it looks great. I just wish I didn't have such a problem with Uvideos.

Which of the current shows will be inflated to two hours until that starts? That's about two and a half weeks.

OK, I think I have everything updated! Thank you everyone for the info!

I don't wish 2-hour episodes on anybody. Been there, done that, got the wrist braces. Maybe they'll air specials or something else during that hour. We can hope.

I had seen the pictures of Livia Brito as Maribel Guardia on Facebook and didn't really know what that was about. She's not a dead ringer, but it's close enough that when I saw the first photo I thought "Was there some kind of costume party on the MIVAC set and Livia dressed up as Maribel?"

Something fun to play with.

COOL!!!! You are awesome, Diva!

Woo hoo! I'm so excited! I can't wait to get the rest of the shows in there!
