Guerrero Capitulo 18

Just as the Garcia ladies are celebrating finally having all their problems solved Mica calls to let Mari know her flower stand is burning. Carlota in the meantime has come into the house all in black and is found by Vic who is suspicious – she didn’t ask and Carlota didn’t answer but the exchange of looks was meaningful.

Mari and the Guerreros attempt to fight the fire and Domi calls 911 before going over to bring more water. Emma goes Insta live. Carlota watches the fire with undisguised delight. Lupe faints dead away right into Auggie’s arms. Auggie is all too happy and brings her into the house to sit her down and call for her. Vicky throws a giant fit of course; she could care less if Lupe is unwell her house isn’t a hospital.

The boys are trying to remember their mom to try to determine which painting might be her in Auggie’s house when Damian remembers his mom painting one day. She was painting an animal and ironically little Damian guessed it was a picture of Samuel….LOL Damian snaps out of his memory and tells Sam and Adrian that their mom was a painter. He remembers now, the painting is probably not of her, but one she painted!!

Mari goes inside the shop after the fire and discovers the ‘sold’ Chabella. Jesus lies and says he’s just checking some mechanical stuff for the new owner. Mari is glad, now she can say goodbye! They talk about everything going wrong and Jesus encourages her to not lose hope. Mica comes and tells Mari her mom isn’t feeling well and she rushes off.

Sam hid Pinto by hanging simply hanging a sheet in front of him out behind the garage?? LOL LOL LOL After the rest of the Guerreros find him the horse bolts and there’s a hilarious chase the horse scene. When they finally catch him, Sam is just like it’s my horse can I keep him? LOL Jesus obviously knows you can’t keep a horse behind a garage but he doesn’t have the heart to tell Sam no. Adrian is looking forward to helping Sam take care of Pinto.
Emma is looking over her video of the fire and Vicky comes in. Together they notice on the vid that Carlota was there and looked like she was enjoying the fire! Vic later tells Auggie it was Carlota who set the fire but he doesn’t believe her. Mica, however, overhears Vic and later reports the suspicion to the Garcias.

Now that Don Oscar is dead Adrian is moving into the shop with the other Guerreros. Jesus just makes him promise that he won’t stop going to school. He promises. He wants to learn more about mechanics to be like his cousins.

The boys now have yet another reason to continue their plan and earn Augusto’s confidence. To find mom’s painting and get more information. This time even Sam is willing to help, his mom is alive!

Jesus and his brothers build a new flower stand overnight and surprise her. The last favor he’s going to do for her, he says. He also reveals that he was the buyer of Chabella! Mariluz refuses to accept the truck back but Jesus says he knew very well she’d never accept it and Chabella is a gift…..for Conchita!!! Conchita doesn’t care one little bit whether or not she ‘should’ accept, she does! The best gift she ever received in her life.

Carlota is sure Jesus partnering with Auggie is the answer to her romantic frustrations and D. Abel has looked over the contracts. The boys discuss and they have their doubts but they ultimately decide to accept.

Sam sends Domenica a letter that says nothing but ‘Domenica’ and ‘Forgive me’ but it’s in his own handwriting and it makes her smile. Speaking of Sam, he meets again with Tata and he agrees he will get him the money. Sam later does the right and smart thing and tells Damian the truth about Tata instead of just giving him the money. (I love that!!)

Lupe warns Jesus to leave Mari alone and she asks all the obvious questions Mari never does. She’s clear, leave her alone. Lupe tells Jesus that Carlota probably set the fire.

Carlota comes over to the flower stand and basically admits she did it while playing with a lighter. Mari is understandably creeped out by this.

Guerrero - Chapter 18 - Part 1 of 2

Darcy, here is a companion piece to your excellent recap. I hope you and the patio don’t mind my recapper-in-training attempts.

In the aftermath of Carlotta’s Flaming Hot Flower Stand, Augi comforts Lupe & Conchita (much to Vic’s chagrin). Jesús comforts Mari.

Valero makes Mari some tea while Jesús fetches her a change of clothes. Val encourages her to sip her tea and reveals his secret recipe is ~14(!) sugars.

Via flashback we see Mama Mecánico (Elisa) painting while the boys try to guess her subject. It’s not a picture but a painting in Augi’s possession that will lead them to her. Elisa & Damián are both painters.

Emma and Domi discuss how the Brothers Guerrero had everything under control during the fire. Emma tries to get Domi to admit she likes Damián. Domi remains coy.

Mari discovers Chabela is still in the garage. Jesús says/lies that the new owner wanted him to check some things. She’s happy she can bid a proper farewell.

The brothers discover Pinto. Sam asks if he can keep him. Adrián offers to help. Damián & Val declare they will not clean up after this animal.

Mommy Dearest comes into Emma’s room and finds her editing video from the fire. While reviewing the video, Vic notices a familiar pyromaniac in the crowd. Said fire enthusiast appears to be enjoying the destruction. Emma writes it off as a friendly rivalry for Jesús’s affections (instead of the reality: aggravated arson).

Jesús tells Adrián he can move in if he’d like to (now that Oscar is gone), but he must maintain his studies. The rest of the boys come in with wood pallets and wonder what they’ll be building.

Iker calls Domi, but doesn’t make much ground. She wants him to fix things, and she can’t promise him anything at this point. Click! She hangs up in his face. She looks to the garage and wonders what secrets Damián is keeping.

Vic tells Augi the fire was not an accident. Augi is not in the mood for her histrionics. She uncharacteristically lays out her suspicions calmly. Mica overhears this whole exchange.
Augi is having none of this. Vic gets more shrill. Augi thinks this is preposterous as Carolota just got a clean bill of health. Vic is frightened and worries that someday, Carlota may take them all out (and not to the ballgame).

Guerrero - Chapter 18 - Part 2 of 2

The brothers start their building project and look forward to finding their mom. Carlota hides the smoking gun/gas can in some sort of storage room (?!!).

Jesùs reveals to Mari that he bought Chabela and returns her replete with a pretty purple bow. It’s like a barrio Christmas Lexus commercial. Mari has a mild hissy fit. Chabela is actually returned to Conchita. She hugs Jesùs and tells Mari not to get jealous and then to get jealous because she is going to steal Jesús. Best line of the night!

Overnight, the brothers have rebuilt Crispín’s Say It with Flowers™️ stand. All together now: you get a beanie. You get a beanie. YOU GET A BEANIE!!!

I spoke too soon. Mica tells Conchita, Mari, and Lupe that “Carluquis” set the fire out of jealousy - unseating the reigning Line of the Night.

Carlota begs Augi to bring Jesús on board, and while doing so, exhibits enough mania and red flags that I hope he remembers Vic’s concerns from the night before.

Don Abel confirms that Augi’s land contracts are bogus and self-serving. The brothers decide that accepting Augi’s offer is dangerous but worth the risk. It will give them more access to his wheeling & dealing. Jesús accepts and shakes Augi’s hand.

Mica brings Domi a handwritten note from Samuelín. Note: she is now using Valero’s slang. Sam is asking for forgiveness quite succinctly: domenica perdoname (sic). Mica begins to babble about Sam and Damián and love, etc. Domi orders Mica to “ve a ver si ya puso la marrana.” I believe this is akin to “Get lost.” Valero said it earlier when he excused himself from Jesús & Mari.

Vic urges Augi to resolve Domi’s deportation matter. Vic’s got no time for scandal.

While the brothers are debating who is behind the fire, Adrián is eating sugar directly from the Tupperware®️ sugar container. ¿Qué the heck? Is this supposed to be an orphan thing?

Sam tells Damián about Tata’s blackmail. Whew!

Lupe asks Jesús to distance himself from Mari.

Carlota very cooly plays the Fatal Attraction card with Mari at the new Say It with Flowers™️. We chillingly learn casualidad vs. causalidad. Chance vs. Cause & Effect. Basically Carloca advises that if Mari keeps it up, her next home will be an urn.

Until next time.

O.S, thank you, thank you, thank you!! That was fantastic!!! I don't mind your recapper-in-training attempts at all. On the contrary, I appreciate it, I encourage it and I am very excited to see it!! I don't know how much training you need though, you're a natural! And your recap is wonderful - snappy, witty, enlightening, and fun! :) As I said before, if you'd like to join the recapping team you are more than welcome! Many hands make light work, as they say. I have no doubt Adriana will feel the same.

I also really appreciate that you catch and share the details I missed. Sometimes when you're watching and taking notes at the same time you miss certain details and it's so great to have someone else point them out so you are aware of them as a viewer! For example: 'Note: she is now using Valero's slang' or 'Adrian is eating sugar directly from the Tupperware sugar container. Que the heck?' and even 'get jealous because she's going to steal Jesus!' I love that!

I also love your description: 'She uncharacteristically lays out her suspicions calmly.' That says it perfectly! Vic was so calm and rational in laying out the very real threat of Carlota and it's such a departure from her own form of manic she shows most of the time.

'Ve a ver si ya puso la marrana' I think might be a mistake in the closed captioning...maybe what she said was 'Ve a ver si ya puso la mano'? Which literally translated would be 'go see what else you can put your hand to' or 'go do something else'. Which yes, basically translates to 'Get lost'

I was so happy and surprised that Sam told Damian the truth! That was a departure from the novela norm where everyone sneaks around and things get harder and more impossible until they finally reveal the truth 35 episodes later. I don't want Sam out on a limb by himself dealing with Tata, so I clapped so hard when he came clean and Damian handled it pretty well he didn't even yell - well at least not yet! :)

Again, O.S., thank you so much!! And always feel free to add anything and everything you'd like to the discussion; especially on days like yesterday when I don't have time to do anything other than quick notes it is so appreciated! And if/when you want to official start recapping and take on a recapping day yourself, just let me know we would be thrilled!!

Guerrero Capitulo 19 – part 1 of 4

Repeat of Guadlupe telling Jesus that she thinks Carloca was behind the fire and she’s scared for Mari. Lupe recognizes she’s not perfect and has made many mistakes in her life but for Mari she’s capable of anything. That’s why she’s asking, no actually, she’s demanding that Jesus live Mariluz in peace!

Emma is talking to Rodrigo’s fangirl and I still don’t understand why. They discuss how popular Emma’s video about the fire was and Emma is excited that it got so many views. Renata assumes that Emma went over there just to spend time with Adrian but she says actually we didn’t even talk. As a matter of fact, the last time I called him Belen answered. Emma wonders what is going on and Renata jumps to the conclusion that Adrian is back with Belen. It’s so obvious! Forget about the orphan, she says. She has an idea, Emma and Rodrigo should do videos together – that would get Emma lots of new followers. Emma is cautiously interested in this; she does need more followers!

Damian agrees to help Sam and goes with him to pay Tata but Jesus can’t know. He takes the money from the shoe fund. Sam thanks Damian for being with him in this and Damian says he is always going to be with him. Tata comes and Sam gives him the money while Damian warns him to leave his brother alone! Tata just smirks and says he’ll see Sam soon. (Honestly paying him was stupid. There’s nothing to stop him from telling Augusto anyway or making the same ransom demand again next week.)

Emma and Rod start to work on ideas for their joint videos. Emma says currently her vids are mostly beauty tips but she’d rather do more reporting about things that people actually care about! Emma is super excited and Rod is a major jackass. He basically tells her she’s not cut out for serious and should just talk about makeup and look pretty! Just as Emma was thinking they were actually going to work and take this seriously; Renata shows up with the booze and snacks and the rest of the party is not far behind her.

Adrian is packing his bags to leave and his friends arrive. He gives them the news that he’s moving in with his cousins. They think it’s cool but he’s going to be missed. Adrian says no worries he’s still going to come by all the time. They’ll keep dancing and entering competitions. They are family too! Adrian has lost his cell and has no idea where it is.

Isaia comes to ask Mari about the fire and why she didn’t tell him so he could help. Mari tells him he’s never available. Mari tells him to forget about her! It’s over forever!! She just doesn’t love him and there’s no going back. Isaia cries about how he left everything for her and Mari tells him to go back and fix his marriage!
More of the long goodbye with Adrian and his friends. One of them notices Emma went live and Adrian is alarmed to see Emma is having a party. Rod interrupts her to share the news with her followers: He’s going to give Emma the gift of letting her first time be with him!!! (Gag me!) Emma corrects him immediately and tells her followers not to listen to him, that’s not going to happen. Everyone should just keep waiting for the right person. Belen asks Adrain if he’s sure that this is the right girl for him – I mean it’s not really Emma’s fault that Rodrigo is a tool.

Carloca is complaining to Jesus that he would dare to help other people, the horror. She wonders, does the fact that his willing to help the florist mean he cares more about her than he does Carlota? Whine, whine, the florist is more important to me, whine. Isaia arrives on the scene using a big ol’ bus and then a piece of pipe as a weapon, but he still doesn’t get the upper hand in the fight he starts with Jesus.

Guerrero Capitulo 19 – part 2 of 4

Damian, Valero, Adrian and Sam arrive to make sure Isaia knows Jesus is not alone. Carloca lets the Isaia know she’s called the cops and besides Jesus doesn’t have anything to do with that stupid florist, he’s with me!!! Isaia finally leaves and Jesus makes sure Carloca is okay. The only real damage done was to Jesus’s windshield. Carloca wants Jesus to report it but he says no, it’s over.

The Garcia ladies talk about Carloca and the problems with Jesus. They agree that chick is crazy and Lupe wants Mari to distance herself from Jesus. Mari says no way! Jesus has been a great friend to all of us and I’m not going to abandon our friendship just to satisfy that crazy girl’s whim! Jesus isn’t even her boyfriend! Lupe points out he isn’t Mari’s boyfriend either and if he’s dating both girls it will only lead to problems. Please, Lupe begs, the girl might be dangerous!

Carloca is still tormenting Jesus with her anti-Mari rant saying all of this is her fault. Jesus says Mari is his friend and that’s the end of the story. This isn’t her fault and he isn’t going to blame her. Carloca wants to know if Jesus is mad at her for telling Isaia that they were together and he says no, but just remember they are moving slowly. Carloca assures him she knows, slowly but surely.

More debate for and against Jesus in the Garcia house, but Mari gets to the bottom line if Momma didn’t fight for her dad that’s her problem, Mari is in love with Jesus and she’s going to fight for the man she loves!! Period.

Adrain goes to visit Emma and Mica answers and tells him to wait while she goes to get Emma. She doesn’t want his entrance to create a scene. Mica is now using the full arsenal of Valero slang as she begs Adrian to wait patiently. Emma is told Adrian is there and she’s immediately excited but her stupid friend talks her out of going to see him and instead she tells Mica to tell Adrian she can’t talk right now cuz she’s busy with Rodrigo… Mica’s look in this scene says it all! (LOL) Adrian is told Emma can’t come to the door and he’s confused. Mica just asks, what did you do? Adrian doesn’t know, he didn’t do anything.

Rod approaches Emma again trying to convince her to be with him but she tells him no. Again! She makes it clear that she’s already explained she isn’t interested and he needs to learn to accept no for an answer. This brings out the ugly side of Rod, and he warns her that she’s going to regret this!

The guys talk about whether or not Carloca could have set the fire and we learn the security cameras caught nothing. The guys all say they don’t think Carlota is capable of such a thing and Valero hilariously tells them that he was just reporting what Mica told him but we they don’t want to believe him he’ll keep his mouth shut!! (I find it interesting that they all know Auggie is evil, they assume Domi is capable of who knows what all types of criminal enterprise but they don’t consider for a second that Carlota might be capable of arson) Next, they talk about the contracts. It’s not really clear but from what d. Abel sees it looks like Montalvo wants to trick the landowners into giving him their lands. Jesus realizes that’s what he did to their dad and he thinks back to a conversation between his dad and Augusto after Octavio found out how Augusto double crossed him. Valero says that could be what Beltran had! Papers that incriminated Montalvo! That’s why Augusto was so intent on buying the shop! He says more, but as usual that’s all I understand from Valero. Beltran is dead but maybe his son knows? Damian asks and Jesus says the last time he talked to him he was scared because they tried to kidnap him but he hasn’t returned Jesus’s calls since. (The man was threatened and goes silent – but no one wonders if something happened to him? Not even while sitting at the table with a man who was almost beat to death by the same person they suspect of threatening Beltran Jr? Where’s my beanie?) He tries to call again and leaves a voice mail, hopefully this time he’ll call back.

Guerrero Capitulo 19 – part 3 of 4

Mari sits alone in her room and dreams of Jesus remembering how he told her his secret to making tea (or coffee?) was he made it with all his love. She wonders exactly how he feels about her. Conchita comes in and asks Mari to be patient with her mom. Mari thinks Lupe cares more about Carlota’s happiness than hers. Conchita says the problem is Jesus hasn’t made a choice. He seems like a good guy but while he’s still dating Carlota it’s not going to be okay. Mari doesn’t understand either but she feels like Jesus really cares about her.

Mica tells Domi to come quickly because her galan is waiting downstairs. Iker? Domi asks. Nope the other one. Oh, Samuel? Nope! What a horrible problem Domi has with so many men after her, nope it’s bachelor #3, Damian! Domi goes to see and Damian and he insists he’s going with her to her to go meet her friends for drinks at the bar. Domi starts to ask how he knows that, but then it occurs that Mica told him, of course! She tries to say no but Damian isn’t taking no for an answer. He is either going with her to her engagement or he’s stealing her away to be alone but either way she won’t be escaping him this evening! We also see Damian had another motive for coming to the front door as he looks around while waiting and decides none of the paintings in the foyer could be his mom’s.

Lupe is praying to the Virgin to help her keep Mari away from Jesus…. sigh. She is interrupted by the sound of music coming from outside and there’s much discussion over who it could be! Mari is very excited thinking it might be Jesus! They debate who is going to look, but it’s Isaia. They quickly lose interest and head back inside. Lupe once again suggests that Mari should give Isaia a chance since he left everything for her, obviously he loves her!! Give me a break, Mari retorts, I didn’t ask him to leave anything for me and about that, he left his wife don’t you think he should have tried to save his marriage?? Lupe has to admit that’s true and Conchita piles on by pointing out that he was in that position in the first place because he was lying to Mari and cheating on his wife! He’s obviously not a trustworthy person! Lupe looks like she might be finally seeing the light. Conchita asks Mari if she’s going to go tell Isaia to leave but she just shrugs and says no, he’ll give up and go away eventually.

Lupe goes outside and tells Isaia to give up gracefully. Mari isn’t going to come out. Isaia actually has the nerve to say Jesus doesn’t deserve Mari because he has a girlfriend!!! LOL He tries to beg Lupe to help him convince Mari to give him another chance but Lupe isn’t willing to interfere.

Domi arrives with Damian and assures her friends that they are just friends but she’s clearly jealous when one of said friends offers to take her shot then, that guy is gorgeous! Damian brings them all drinks and they thank him. The friend tries to ask Damian to dance but he says he’s all Domi’s for this night, and this night only! They go off to dance.

Guerrero Capitulo 19 – part 4 of 4

Sam is reading or writing or both and he thinks back to Domi saying she would never want to hurt him. He says he doesn’t want to hurt her either, not her. Sam goes over to write something on Damian’s sketch pad but we don’t see what. Jesus arrives and Sam jumps back in his own bed. Jesus asks if he’s alright and Sam says he can’t sleep. He’s been thinking about Damian and how they were as kids, did they get along? Jesus tells him they were very close as kids and we see flash backs of the boys playing. He says they were always laughing and joking around. Damian loves you, Samuel, Jesus assures; Damian would do anything for you. You shouldn’t doubt that for a second, we both love you so much! Sam next asks if Jesus remembers their mom. He remembers very little, her hair, her hands, her voice when she sang them goodnight songs. Sam says Damian also has memories of her but he doesn’t. Jesus says Sam was very young it’s not his fault he doesn’t remember. Sam says he wants to find her painting, to have something that is their mom’s. Jesus promises they are going to find it and they’ll find mom too.

Domi tries to ask Damian again what does he want? Why is he with her if he thinks she is dangerous? Damian says he likes danger but Domi isn’t bought off. Domi brings up the stealing of his client’s car again and Damian says he’s going to steal something else, a kiss. But before he can, Iker comes up pretending he’s tough and demanding Damian get away from Domi. This is a short stand as Domi tells him to get lost and she and Damian go off to dance. Now on the dance floor, Domi asks again, what Damian wants from her. She knows there’s something else there, what is Damian hiding?

Sam tries to sneak out of the garage but quiet he isn’t, and he is caught by Valero! He asks where Sam’s going? Sam tries to lie but Valero tells him he doesn’t know how to lie and it’s pointless to go looking for Domi because she isn’t there and Sam won’t like knowing who she left with. Valero encourages Sam to forget about Domi in a more sensitive and caring way than the others have tried. He tells him truly but gently that Domi isn’t ever going to like him the way he wants her to. Sam thinks that Domi is interested in him and Valero says there’s one true fire way to find out! Go out with someone else! LOL If she sees you with another and doesn’t care it’s because she isn’t interested. But if she sees you with another woman and gets jealous then you’ll know she’s interested in you!! (Oh no, bad advice especially for an inexperienced person like Sam!! But the look on Sam’s face when he’s listening to Valero’s plan is so funny. So far, I think my favorite couple in this show is Samuel and Valero! They are so funny together)

Damian goes to the bathroom and Iker tries to approach Domi and beg her to come back to him. He gets nowhere so he calls 1-800-Dial A Thug and gets some dude to go into the bathroom to intimidate Damian into leaving Domi alone. Damian is not intimidated. He gets the upper hand with the thug easily enough and tells Iker to go to hell. It was hilarious to see Iker try to play it tough, that boy is 0% scary.

Damian and Domi return home and Damian notes they left early because of Domi’s ex, right? Domi admits she was uncomfortable with him there. Damian suggests that since it’s early maybe they can take an art tour of her house? Domi laughs and thinks he’s lost his mind but Damian says why not? I love art and I love spending time with you? Domi says some other time, and just as Damian slowly leans in for a goodnight kiss our screens fade to the episode credits.

Two recapers instead of one! Cool! I didn't quite get how the Guerreros decided to build that flower stand. What were they talking about when they brought the wood?
Carlota is so damn scary. Victoriana says something smart for the first time in her life probably and typically no one listens. Augusto was so angry at Domenica and yet refuses to see Carlota is dangerous. How could those brain scans show she was OK?
I didn't like Ema filming the fire. Very tasteless. I know she's young but someone should tell her it's no good sharing stuff like this. This just reminded me of an incident near my house and my teenage cousin did the same. Call bomberos, girl instead of turning on your camera.
I can't stand scenes with Augusto and Lupe? Are these two really the final pairing?
I love Samuel. I wish I knew what song plays in the background when he is with Domenica.

Guerrero

Waterlily, from what I remember the guys were talking about their mom when they were bringing the wood. Jesus asks Adrian what else Don Oscar had told him about her and he said nothing just what that she was alive and then Sam told Jesus that Damian remembered that their mother was a painter and that it was a painting done by her and not a painting of her that they needed to find. They then talked about needing to gain Augusto's confidence to get more access to his house to look for the painting.

This also reminds me of something else I've been meaning to mention. When Carlota was hiding the gas can in the storage room/basemen, whatever it was; it looked like their were paintings in that room and it made me think THE painting could be there.

I think the brain scans bring up the question of illness vs choice. Everyone has excused Carlota since day one by saying she's sick and traumatized. But is she? Is she ill and thus unable to control herself or is she a sane person choosing to be what she is? To me, she seems crazy but I don't know, maybe she's sane and can't blame her behavior on mental illness.

I'm with in on Augusto and Lupe it creeps me out how they film those scenes and even play a song for them!! I can't believe they'd be the final pairing because Augusto is a murderer and thus novela law says he'll end up either dead or in prison; but who knows? I really hope there isn't a first time for this!! I kind of think Lupe will end up with the new weird guy who showed up this week but he's strange too.

I love Samuel too! I haven't noticed the particular song that plays when he's with Domenica but I'll try to pay attention to that and let you know if I recognize it.

"GUERRERO":

Darcy: Thank you very much for the recap of yesterday's episode!

Steve Boudreaux

Guerrero

Greetings, Guerrero Fans!

Darcy, I will always strive to capture the action with ample bon mots as fluidly as you do. Wow!

Waterlilly, you have great taste in novelas and baby brothers. I too will listen for that song.

Steve Boudreaux, I’ve been a fan of your body counts for awhile.

In my notes I wrote:
Emma, Renata, Adrián, Belén…YAWN
Emma, Renata, Rod, Drinking…YAWN

I don’t fast forward through the episode(s), but I see why some people do. I was very tempted.

I agree with Darcy: paying Tata was dumb and irrational. The silver lining is the brothers working together.

The Rando Meter almost broke when Isaías showed up in a bus(!) almost mowed down Jesús & Carlota(!!), then attacked with a pipe(!!!). I was wishing (and hoping and praying) that Carloca would join the fight and save the day with some Koo Koo moves (you know she has ‘em) and maybe even some light fire play. That did not happen. She delivered the Line of the Night after the fight with “Una persona celosa es capaz de muchas cosas, ¿eh?” Ahem!

The brothers speculate if Beltrán knew that Augi was behind his pop’s demise. Valero says, “Clearly he knew. Obviously he knew. He saw his (murdered) father and applied the old adage “Calladito, me veo más bonito.” Translation: I’m prettier when I keep my mouth shut!” In this case he’s safer with a closed mouth.

I love that Mica & Valero are evolving and keeping both sides updated on all comings and goings. They are my 2nd favorite couple. More later.

Damián & Domis have great chemistry! Kudos to the actors. They are doing a fantastic dance/preamble to a hook-up that should be pure fireworks. Again, thanks Mica/Val for letting our favorite painter know when to strike. His swag and flirting are fun to watch (not too aggressive or overbearing), and she goes toe-to-toe at every turn. Fun Fact: Domís’ aggressive friend is currently the aggressee (Lupita) in Mi Corazón es Amarte.

Sam continues to steal every scene he’s in. When he’s reading/writing/both, we see his tongue hanging out his mouth (the universal sign of focus and concentration). Then he hops over to add to Damián’s sketch pad. Why didn’t they show us what he wrote/drew?!! Jesús comes in and we get another platinum flashback. We are as eager as the brothers for them to find Elisa.

Iker’s misplaced bravado and Rent-a-Thug (LOL) were absurdly over the top. I’m glad Damián didn’t cause a big scene and handled both discretely.

A well-groomed Sam (peinado) wakes the dead by clunking around and trying to sneak out to look for Doménica. Valero sweetly brings him back to Earth without crushing his spirt and then advises him. Unfortunately, his advice (The Ol’ Celos Test) is not really appropriate for an escapee of Tata’s House of Cruelty. Nevertheless, this whole scene is why Sam & Val are the best couple on daytime TV (not just this show). LOL.

O.S.
Recapper Trainee

OT - Darcy & Adriana

Greetings! Darcy, please don’t think for a second that I missed your kind words. I am honored to be invited to join the recappers as I’ve admired your work and wit for many novelas.

I enjoy throwing my 2¢ up; however, I worry about deadlines. I am currently away from home (visiting for the holidays) as one of the many affected by the weather and massive delays.

To occupy my time, I’ve been working on a treatment for Televisa®️ called Vencer los Retrasos. The ending/anvils will surprise everyone and no one at the same time.

Once I get home (next week) I’ll be more comfortable committing to the recap team and assignments.

Darcy, my last comments on Mi Camino went mostly unnoticed in the transition from the Monday page to the Thursday page. We both had style comments (makeup and hair). We will have to resurrect that discussion on the current pages.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to ya’ll and the patio!!!

OT

Happy New Year to all Carayers! Welcome, O.S.!

Guerrero

O.S., Rando Meter I love it!!! LOL That was so strange and oddly fun??? Lol, you're having a normal conversation - as normal as convo with Carlota can be - and suddenly the bus attacks! It's absolutely insane but it plays as good TV. Isaia doesn't play around, luckily he also has zero skill for fighting!

I noticed the actress was the same as from Camino. What a change! She's so good at playing young, innocent and unassuming Lupita and she nailed the older aggressive, barfly on the prowl stint in this episode too. Interesting that the character here is probably 5-10 years older and Guerrero was filmed 2 years earlier. Cabo which is about to start on Primetime, has Christian de la Campa (Samuel) in it and he plays a character that is 40ish probably, whereas here he's playing early to mid 20s - quite a jump.

I agree the chemistry is excellent between Damian and Domi. I really don't want to see Sam try to make Domi jealous. Well, sort of. For the comedic element I'm looking forward to seeing it as I am sure it will be hilarious but from an emotional standpoint, I feel so bad for him as I'm sure he will be so clumsy in trying to enact that plan!

On an OT note, I appreciate you acknowledging my invitation and letting me know how you're feeling about recapping. We'd love to have you join us but I want you to feel encouraged not pressured! And I totally get it, when I first started recapping I had lots of concerns and worries for deadlines among other things. I have no doubt that when you start you'll find the same thing I did, a safe space and a warm, welcoming community that eases your concerns.

And yes, resurrecting the style comments on Camino is a good idea. That show is certainly bold in its style choices - to say the least!!

Happy New Year Weirdo! And everyone else. Wishing everyone a blessed year full of love and laughter!
