La Verdad Oculta EP21 10/11/2010 - Crying, sobbing, weeping and a little bit of fun

Aribeth

* Ramón reports to Leonardo about Adolfo Ávila: he has an associate called Mario Genovés, they run hotels and restaurants. He divorced years ago and has a son who's the manager of the restaurants and night clubs.

* Alejandra learns from Mina that the owner of that great house changed his mind and doesn't want to sell it anymore. She's surprised at Elsa's strange and impolite behaviour and wonders if Roberto was right about her. Speak of the devil, Rob enters and she complaints about Elsa to him. Roberto's phone rings and a very furious Carlos tells him what happened in JJ's house.

* Leo asks Ramón if Adolfo has always been dealing with hotels. No, in the 80's he had a theatrical company: theaters, circuses, musicals... But in 1986 a dancer called Marta Guzmán was strangled in his theater and everyone suspected of her jealous husband, who later escaped. And guess who was one of the witnesses? Adolfo Ávila. Leo gets excited, he doesn't think that Adolfo was such a perfect gentleman and the hound definitely picked up the scent.

* Gaby receives a phonecall from David who begs her not to disconnect. He asks for her forgiveness for being a complete idiot last night and reminds her of their lovely days in LA. Fausto arrives home and she quickly hangs up the phone and says it was a wrong number. But Fausto isn't a fool. He tells Gaby how much he loves her and her sister and asks her to trust him. Is she interested in a boy... in David? But what does she expect from him? Nothing, sobs Gaby. Fausto tries to convince her she deserves someone better.

* In the prison Marcos and Piggy talk about their prison break and future life filled with more crime and money.

* Elsa doesn't understand why Carlos didn't recognize Juan José. He says it happened long ago but he remembers him well. She says it's strange that those people appeared in his life again and JJ agrees that the world is very small. He makes a mental note that he has to take revenge on Adolfo Ávila and Mario Genovés! Oh, I have a deja vu.

* Mario and Abelardo check again the high-tech gadgets in his office. Mario wonders if their efforts are pointless. What if Santiago gets cold feet again and gives up their plan after his death? Abelardo swears he won't let him do that. Mario complaints he has so little time left to fix everything up and the old friends worry and cry over the toughness and cruelty of their plan... Especially over deceiving David. Bertha enters and confesses to her favourite uncle there's something between her and Blondie. (In your dreams, sweetie.)

* In Club Sagitario Roberto tries to explain away his conduct to Julieta and eventually succeeds to convince her that Alejandra belongs to his past and now he likes her, only her. Yeah, and Yolanda is the Queen of Great Britain.

* Rob visits Carlos in his office. Whiskers greets him coldly, but Rob quickly assures him that they are still best friends forever and he's in Team Carlos, not in Team David. He only tried to help him last night when he and David had fun with the Balmori girls. It made the waitresses mad, didn't it? And it gave Carlos an opportunity to win Gaby over, didn't it? Hmmm. Carlos loosens up a bit. He's still angry for the fiasco that happened in Juan del Tarzan's houseand thinks he shouldn't have involved in buying houses, he has enough problems with the restaurants.

* David arrives at the club and asks Gabriela to visit him in his office. When she says no he blackmails her: if she doesn't obey he will go to Carlos and make a scandal. Julieta asks what happened, Gaby tells her she's going to David's office and leaves. Leonardo also shows up and greets Juli.

* JJ's returned to Seven Dwarves mode, he continues digging in his kitchen. Judging from the amount of dirt on him and Asunción it seems as if they plan to dig a fourth rescue tunnel for the Chilean miners. Juan José tells Asunción he heard noises from the deep. In the meantime Alejandra and Mina have a walk in their pretty and comfortable secret tunnel that is filled with workers.

* Bertha and a friend of her dance, rave and drink in a hip bar. They notice two handsome guys and they start to drink together. Five seconds later Bertha and one of the guys start to suck face... just when Mina arrives at the bar.

* David confesses to Gaby that he's jealous because loves her. Kiss. Music. Shivers.
In the bar Julieta and Leo are chatting when Carlos shows up and asks where Gaby is. Since Juli can't lie convincingly he finds out she's in David's office and and storms away fuming. Leo asks what's the problem and when he realizes the guys already had a fight for Gaby he runs after Whiskers. In the office Carlos interrupts the romantic reunion and tries to beat up David. Fortunately the only adult in the district stops the boys by pointing his gun at them.

* Mario calls Faustiago on phone and apologizes for what he said earlier in the dressing room, he shouldn't interfere in Gaby's life. Then a very tired Alejandra visits him and reports about the status of the construction. Mario thanks to her for her magnificent work and finally confesses to her he has cancer and will die soon. Ale's shocked and begs him to tell her everything. She would do anything to help him! Mario gives in and tells her that it started many years ago when he fell in love with a woman called Marta...

* Leonardo takes Gabriela home and tells her she should leave the job. There are too many agressive guys in that club. Gaby is confused and can't decide what to do. Leo comforts the crying girl and promises not to tell anything to Fausto.

* Mario's finished his tale about the contract, Dolphie, Fausto and his plan, and Ale (and Viewerville) joins the weeping club. He won't die! Yes, he will, and he told her his plan because he needs his help. Can she trust her? Of course. She tries to comfort him with her optimistic nature and they end up crying in each other's arm.

* Roberto and Adolfo have a drink in Dolphie's luxury condo. The old rascal tells Rob for the 100th time that if he serves him loyally he won't have to worry about money anymore. By the way, what would he do for 5 million pesos? Roberto chuckles perplexedly... well, many things. Oh, really? Would he even kill somebody?

Dinero 10/11/10 It's Another Night Of All Talk And No Action, Dios Mio!

Alternate title:MARINO TRIUMPHS
ALE AND RAFA LOSE,
MARIAN KEEPS TRYING
AND IT'S ALL A BIG SNOOZE

Lots of teasers tonight. So many things could have happened but didn't. I thought I was sitting down to a banquet , but didn't get so much as an appetizer. Very frustrating! But here's what DID happen, or DIDN'T while we were treading water tonight.

First, Rafa and Ale have a poignant little conversation where she reiterates that they have to sacrifice their love for the sake of their families...especially his mom and her dad. Clinging to their love is selfish. It hurts too many people. She won't even let him say " I love you" although they do exchange one of those tight lipped sexless kisses that are so depressing.

From thence to the usual bickering and insulting amongst the Auto Siglo sales force. Ay Dios mio Jimenez is exultant because he's gotten permission to attend the hacienda party without his wife. Lots of unkind speculation on what he had to do and how much he had to grovel in order to get that permission. As usual, the poor guy gets no respect. Neither at work nor at home.

Nor does Marco evidently. When he phones Carmela and finds out she's spent all the money he gave her on a new car, he's furious. So's she. And that's why she's never married, mister, so no man can tell her how to spend her dinero. And he's still got more to fork over, so shaddup.

Someone who's not likely to pipe down is Marino. He's locked down salesman of the month again with his impressive sale to the medieval trucking maniac and informs his hostile companions, a comatose Ale and a pissy-faced Rafa that he's about to take over the whole managerial position and show 'em how it's done. Breaking for ads is almost a relief.

When we come back, it's to a resplendent Chavez, in full hacienda mode, decked out in a red, black and floral shirt, blue white and floral swim trunks, and flanked by two nubile bikinied babes who splash in the pool, towel off seductively and then wrap themselves around our skank like two slithering bookends. Okay, that sentences was about three miles long. Suffice it to say that he's in hog heaven, ordering around the hacienda caretakers (who are still worried about the headless horseman) and demanding affectionate massages from the bikini babes.

Our Trapito isn't having quite the same luck. Carmela sweeps in, ignores him as usual, but ever solicitous, he does a full belly slide underneath Marino's legs to land at Claudia's desk and inform her of Carmela's arrival. Yes, the Queen Bee/Maneater is here to pick up her car. Carmela notes that he's in good condition for a fattie, but that's all the sugar he gets. Meanwhile, Dandy and Pepeto hightail it out, partly in terror, and partly to alert Rafa that Carmela is here and now's his chance to find out what's up with the hacienda. He marches forth to the sound of cavalry music but falls flat. Carmela's interested in his body but not in discussing business. If he wants to do that, come to the office.

Chavez' massage is interrupted by a call from Marco. He's in a lather because Chavez' phone has been turned off. We must talk now! And what's up with Shrimp Man and this Daniel Cepeda? Chavez is surprised that Marco has sussed out Daniel's involvement so fast. He's mulling this over while he swats the shapely behinds of his two compañeras. Tough life for our old rogue, isn't it?

Okay. One thing DOES happen. Marian drags in some limp-wristed little puppy dog named Señor Puentes who does buy all Rafa's remaining trucks. He appears happy with their condition and also anxious to get back to work. Something is definitely off with this guy. He looks like an errand boy at best. But whatever. Marian's now insisting on a celebration drink for the deal even though Rafa is hardly in an exultant mood.

Mientras tanto, Ale is back sniveling at her desk, explaining to Susana why she's giving up the love of her life. Susana complains that she's selling herself for "tres migajas de pan" (three little breadcrumbs) but Ale replies that "no tengo salida" (there's no way out). Oh my.

Back at the hacienda, Daniel and Enrique have arrived. The girls are flirting madly with our galan and he loves it....but not enough to invite them to the party. It's a family thing, you understand. But I'll throw another one just for you, how about that? Trato hecho.

Now back to the Marian/Rafa front. She's got an uphill battle here but she's determined. And looking quite fine in a Chanel type pants suit, tousled curls and bee-stung lips. Rafa appears deaf dumb and blind though as she weaves her argument for paying off debts to both Ale and Vicky and being free free free to enjoy life and be a success. And here's where I come in, adds Marian seductively.

And what ties him to Ale after all? Was it the debt or was it love? Rafa's so confused and downhearted, he doesn't even seem to know.

Daniel is one of the types who can bi-locate evidently. A few moments after being way out in the country at the hacienda, he's now blowing into Auto Siglo to see his "second mother" and invite her and Beltran to the party. Beltran tries to weasel out of it but Doña Arcadia won't let him. Daniel promises to draw them up a map on how to get to the hacienda. After he blows out, Arcadia asks Beltran what he thinks of her little girls. Er...I haven't seen them, he stammers. MY DOGS! la profesora clarifies. Ah you crazy kids. Stop already.

Okay, Daniel takes his fine self down to Ale's office and does his best to charm her. He's having a lot less success than with Doña Arcadia. But he's willing to spend 24 hours a day, 365 days a year....or more...trying to get her to smile. She's still got the glumlies and doubts that they can be anything but friends, but he'd determined to convince her. As for Marian. Yes, he once asked her to marry him. But it was a mistake. Now let's give ourselves a chance. Major sticking point. He won't tell her why he bought the hacienda. Major selling point. He's got no problem with money....just loneliness. (Insert big doe-eyed look at Ale here) Will she fall? Oh, of course not! But we've got a couple of more weeks to fill up till the gran finale so work with us, alright?

Down in our other rabbit hole, Marian's trying to find out what Rafa's deal with Vicky was. And how did Vicky convince Marco to let Lorena out of jail? Ahah. Yes, Vicky promised that she'd keep Rafa away from Ale, if Leonor was sprung. Fine. Marian understands. But she's a practical woman and is looking for real solutions. 1) Hire an investigator to find out who Marco paid to set up Leonor. 2) Pay off all the debts and get free of both Ale and Vicky and her family. 3) Though not explicitly stated, give the charming and oh-so-available Marian a chance.

While Rafa is glumly mulling this possibility, who enters the bar but Ale and Daniel. Ale looks stricken. Marian looks alarmed. Rafa and Daniel face off in full antler-bashing mode. And there we end.

Previews:
A collage of rapid-fire scenes. A flash of Vicky looking upset. And Marian vowing to never give up. Sure hope we find some galans for both these ladies. Trapito, anyone?

Vocabulary:

No seas lama botas = Don't be a boot licker. Sales force to Ramirez when he's well...licking Marino's boots at the junta.
de frente a frente = face to face (Marino, talking about confronting Ale and Rafa)
bola de apretados = bunch of people short on cash, in other words, losers.
tomar, chupar, que el mundo se va a acabar = eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we may die (Chavez to his babes)
yo prendo el boiler para que otro se bañe! I stoke the boiler so someone else can bathe! (Chavez complaining about the babes leaving him to swarm over Daniel)
que aguado eres = what a wet blanket you are! (Doña Aracadia remonstrating with Beltran)

Dicho of the Day
Just an expression really, in honor of Leonor's great dancing in Friday's episode
menear el bote =lit. wiggle your bucket
mover el bote = lit. move your can
But both mean "to dance". And she sure did. Hope we'll see more at the hacienda party. If there ever is a hacienda party.

El Clon, Mon., October 11 - Summary for Discussion

'¡Te odio, te voy a matar!'I hate you! I'm going to kill you! screams Nati. Rosa tries to keep Nati from attacking Marisa. 'Ya no eres mi hija,' You're not my daughter anymore,' says Marisa sadly.

Meanwhile, Cristina in a bright red dress (Leo has always liked her in red) comes into the house. Rosa drags Nati away. Cristina hesitantly approaches Marisa and asks if she is all right. Cristina tries to make Marisa feel better by saying that she had a nephew who abused drugs but got better and got on with his life. Marisa, her face wet with tears, excuses herself.

Marisa tries to fix her makeup while listening to Nati tell Rosa that Marisa blames her because she was never happy in her marriage. She says that her father blames her because he never married his Moroccan lover. In vain does Rosa assure Nati that her parents love her. Nati runs out of the house. Lucas tells Rosa to let her go.

Leo comes downstairs and tells Cristina that she fills his house with light. [At least someone is happy.]

Jade leads Said upstairs and ups the seduction ante with the sword dance. He goes to her but she holds him back with the sword saying that they aren't married. Said flashes back to when Jade told him that she had been with Lucas. Jade runs off thinking that she has conquered Said.

The gang at Mohamed's house plays with Munir. When Jadiya says that the Naz loves children, she agrees but starts off her usual rant by saying that it is just as well that she didn't have any children because everything she loves is taken away from her. Alí scolds her for rebelling against the will of Allah. The Naz replies that it isn't the will of Allah that is keeping her from getting married, it's her brothers and their odalisque wives.

Rania feels that Jade is up to no good at home and begs Amina to find a way to end the visit. Amina pretends that she has a headache and she refuses Jadiya's suggestion that Zoraida make a tea for her insisting that only lying down in her bed will help. Alí insists that Amina take Zoraida's tea. [Amina should have said that she was about to throw up.]

When Jadiya wants to go out bike riding, Zamira reminds her that she can't go out because she refuses to wear a veil. Jadiya thinks that a woman looks pretty in a veil and Zamira thinks that she looks like an extraterrestrial and is willing to stay inside forever rather than wear one.

Dora is getting ready to go to Cristina's wedding. She tells Estela that Cristina made her the matron of honor so that she would have to go to the ceremony. Daniel is going, too but he refuses to wear the suit Dora bought for him. He doesn't want to dress up like a penguin (a mí no me gusta vestirme de pingüino).

The guests are arriving. Leo tells Cristina that they should start the ceremony but Cristina replies that Dora isn't there yet. Leo is shocked that Dora was invited. Lucas asks Marisa (who has changed her dress) why she reacted that way to Nati. Marisa says that she just couldn't take the way Nati was treating her any more. Lucas says that he understands. The doorbell rings and Dora and Daniel arrive.

Lucas embraces Daniel and calls him his son.

The ceremony starts.

The sKanks parade their sKanette past Gloria's. Gloria admires the child and asks who he favors, the mother or the father. Hilda is quick to assert that with such a distinguished father, of course the baby favors him. But when Gloria asks who this illustrious father is, Hilda tells her to stay tuned. 'No es facil,' It's not easy, says Gloria and stalks off. Karla suggests that Hilda put the brakes on. They don't even know if Robert will
'va a dar la cara,' recongize the child, or not. But the cat, as it were, is already out of the bag. Ramoncito buys a paper for the sKanks and their picture is on the front page. Hilda tells Ramoncito, the chisme king, to do his thing and and she and Karla continue their promenade.

At the wedding reception, Enrique tells Albieri that his cloning achievement will change the concept of life that has been in existence up to now. Luisa is still interrogating Albieri about his every move.

Lucas finds Daniel in his room holding a guitar. Daniel asks if Lucas has a birthmark (lunar) on his back, too. Lucas says that he does. Daniel asks if Lucas' birthmark is cancerous. Lucas replies that his isn't but they can be. He tells Daniel that his mother died of cancer when he was very young. Leo comes in and tells Daniel how great it is that he interested in music and that if he wants lessons, Leo will pay. Of course, Lucas flashes back to Leo crushing his guitar hero dreams.

Albieri tells Father Andres that he is attracted to the intense admiration that Amalia feels for him. The Padre warns him to be careful - he has a jealous and possessive wife. If she finds out, who knows what she is capable of.

Adbul, Zumaya and Zuleica show up at Mohamed's place.

In a rare lapse of judgment, but presumably to further the plot, Anita blabs to Clara about how the Chump lost the apartment to Malicia. The Chump comes in and Anita makes herself scarce. Clara asks what the Chump has heard from his lawyer about the apartment. He lies. She shows him a demand from her neighbors to sell her condo and move out. Fer has stolen things, broken windows and insulted the neighbors. Barring him entry at the gate does not keep him out. Clara tells the Chump that her only hope is to live in Fernando's apartment.

Pablo is dressed up to go the Cristina's wedding reception with Malicia. He tries to get Alej to go without success. Alej tells Gloria that he thinks that maybe he could have done more for Nati. '¿Acaso eres médico, enfermero, hospital, santo, institución de caridad, o que?' By any chance are you a doctor, a nurse, a hospital, a saint, a charitable institution or what? asks Gloria. She tells him that he has to think of himself, concentrate on his dreams so that he can achieve what he has wanted so much.

Pablo calls Malicia and she uses his failure to call earlier as an excuse to end the relationship. She says that their styles of life are very different and she doesn't think their relationship is going anywhere. Malicia actually seems to regret having to put herself first. 'Perdon, pero primero está mi porvenir,' Forgive me, but my future comes first, Pablo, says she.

At the reception, Daniel asks Albieri if he was created by God like everyone else. Albieri assures him that he is no different than everyone else. Dora comes up and takes Daniel away.

Malicia and Rogelio arrive at the party. Cristina greets both of them affectionately. Malicia starts to gush to Leo how much she has admired his career. Vicki pulls Cristina away and asks if she is crazy to be nice to Malicia after all she had done to her. Cristina says that she doesn't hold grudges. Vicki warns her that Malicia wants everything that Cristina has.

Cristina calls all the single ladies together and tosses the bouquet. Malicia catches it. Pablo shows up at the party. He sees Malicia and Rogelio kissing and plants one on Andrea.

Alí is dispensing wisdom to Mohamed when all Mohamed wants is help. Amin comes in to say that Adbul and an Arab woman have arrived asking for her sick fiancée. Alí offers Mohamed a deal - he will get him out of his marriage problem if he allows Zamira to go out without a veil. Mohamed doesn't want to agree but he has no choice. Alí tells Mohamed that he destroyed his family in a minute but it is going to take some time and patience to put it back together.

Alí has Latifa pretend to accept Zuleica and agree to organize an engagement party for her in Miami. After Abdul and Zuleica leave, Alí tells Latifa that she has to invite Zuleica to have lunch in the mall and during lunch, she has to ask her one question that will solve everything. He tells Latifa what the question is but we don't hear. Alí asks Allah to take pity on him because for the sake of his nieces, he is likely to feel hell fire.

The three zombies crash the wedding reception. '¿Qué nos miran? ¿Tenemos algo en la cara?' What are you looking at?' they ask, 'Do we have something on our faces?

The credits roll.

La Fea Más Bella #41-42 10/11/10 A nightmare and a dream.

Read Kim's original recap, the section called “Missing Recap 23: Fernando, Queen of the Night.” Then come back here to discuss it. From this point forward, each of Kim’s sections will cover a single episode.

Capitulo 41

1. Marcia tells Alicia she’ll just have to live within her means. Alicia thinks Omar will be her salvation.

2. Lety asks Fernando what will happen if Omar’s contact is a fraud, the equipment never arrives, and they lose $2M. He tells her to stop being so pessimistic. Omar calls and says they need to prepay. Lety really doesn’t like that.

3. Marcia sets up a meeting with model Isabella Conde. Marcia lets Alicia go as her assistant, but Ali acts like a big cheese..

4. Luigi’s buddies dress and make-up Fernando for the fiesta. Celso spots him leaving. What I like best about Fernando in drag, is the furry cleavage!

5. Fer-lil-nando makes his appearance at the transvestite ball and wants to leave immediately, but he’s parked in. Luigi reminds him this ain’t Conceptos and he ain’t the boss here.

6. Marcia invites Isabella to Fernando’s house. Ariel doesn’t want to join Marcia because he doesn’t want to see Fernando. Marcia asks him what will happen when she gets married – will he refuse to visit? Will he lose his sister? She says they musn’t let business rivalry get in the way of family.

7. Fernando can’t catch a cab and guys hanging out on the street give him a hard time. He can’t ask Marcia for help because Ariel and the others are at the house.

Capitulo 42

Read Kim's original recap, the section called “Missing Recap 24: Whiskered corncake rescues damsel in distress.” Then come back here to discuss it..

Marcia’s trying to cover the awkwardness at Fernando’s house, and on the phone he keeps telling her he’ll be there ASAP. Ariel works at picking up Isabella.

Fernando calls Lety to come rescue him. I love so many little things in this episode, from this point forward. Will you indulge me a bit, and let me list all the little things I loved?
• Mama wakens Lety to tell her Fernando is on the phone. Lety, still groggy, says, “No, I wasn’t dreaming about Don Fernando. I never dream about him.” Then, more awake, “It’s true? It’s not a dream?!!”
• Mama tries to stop her but Lety is determined. “Don Fernando needs me, now more than ever. I won’t abandon him.”
• Lety and the taxista find Fernando. Even though Lety is his only hope, and even though she came out in the middle of the night to rescue him, almost the first thing he says is, “Recognize me or you’re fired!” Dirty rotten fink!
• Fern says, “I beg you, get me out of here! It’s making me loco!” The taxista says, “It’s better to say ‘loca.’ “
• Lety says, “Don’t worry. Your secret’s safe with me. Nice dress.”
• Fernando tells her to stop talking nonsense; he lost a bet with Luigi. Lety looks heavenward and says, “Thank you, God!”

• At the Conceptos gate, the police want to haul Fern down to the station. He grabs Lety as his human shield, wraps his arms around her, and holds her tight against his chest. And this time she’s not dreaming! But, Boy Howdy! is she smiling!!
• After the police leave, she giggles, he plays the clown, and she joins in (Marcia NEVER joins in his bobarías). The exchange is brief but very warm. They are very comfortable together.
• We get a close-up of his legs, a sight rarely seen – seriously! We discover that nobody’s perfect, not even Camil. Colunga has those ears, and Camil has those calves.
• Julieta sees her daughter’s boss for the first time ever, and she says, “I imagined you differently.” She also says, “You look very different from your pictures in the magazines.”
• Fernando draws himself to his full height, lowers his voice a half octave, and greets Julieta very formally. How can anyone in a fuschia strapless gown and pink hair look so darned masculine??
• Fernando hides his 6’3” frame under a 3’ coffee table
• Erasmo talks about how badly her boss treats her, and Erasmo is ready to go down to Conceptos and teach that tipo a thing or two! We watch Fernando’s reaction to all Erasmo’s comments.
• Lety brings an avacado to remove the make-up. Fernando says, “How can you think of making tacos at this hour? There aren’t any tortillas!!”
• Their conversation just before he leaves. See the transcript.
• When Lety’s writing in her diary. How moved she is, that Fernando was at her house.
• Lety’s fantasy that Fernando comes back. See transcript. For me, this one was the most delicious fantasy to date.

Fern tells Marcia that he went to the transvestite ball, that he did it to keep Luigi from quitting, and that it was an infierno for him. Marcia has compassion because he had such a horrible night, and she does all she can to comfort him and help him forget the nightmare. Oops! Just another fantasy! Actually she reams him out for doing something so idiotic, hiding it from her, and running to Lety for help. She moans, “Why? Why Lety and not me???” That question gives Fernando pause for thought.

Spanish Lesson

Marta I has volunteered to write the Spanish Lesson translations, and that will be a HUGE relief to me, considering the demands of the double episodes. Here is her first one. Thank you, Marta!!
Fernando leaves Lety's house
Fer: I have to run, Lety, and me with this outfit. Look at this. It’s not that I expected your dad’s clothes to be super-elegant! It’s just that it does not fit me right, it’s not my style, right?
Lety: How could it be your style, no?
Fer: Hey, Lety, do you have money to loan me for the taxi? I just don’t have any.
Lety: Of course, Don Fernando. I hope this is enough.
Fer: What a pretty wallet. Look, I look like a bullfighter, Leticia. How will I go out to the street like this? Hey thank you. I will pay you tomorrow for sure? I have to call Marcia. She must be thinking the worse, you know how bitter/angry she gets. You know.
Lety: I can imagine.
Fer: Hey, and take the costume back to return it to Luigi. Take it in a taxi, so you don’t have problems with the bus. And hey, thank you for everything. Thank you very much.
Lety: You are welcome, Don Fernando.
Fer: (turns around) Know what? I’m still worried about your dad.
Lety: Ay, the problem is he is very temperamental. But I swear if he had discovered you, neither my mom nor I would have let him lay a finger on you, Don Fernando!
Fer: No, but I am not referring to that, (I am referring) to what he said about me, Lety.
Lety: He was, I don’t know, in a real bad mood. And when he gets like that he says whatever comes to his mind!
Fer: But he believes I treat you badly. Do I treat you badly Lety?
Lety: It’s just that he once heard you yelling at me and he got mad. He went to Conceptos to confront you but I did not let him. Take it easy, he won’t do anything to you.
Fer: I know he won’t do anything to me, but, no, I mean.. Its just that it bothers me that he has that image of me, Lety, you know? of the company above all. It’s a nightmare to work with us, right? Especially with me. jajaja
Lety: Of course not, Don Fernando. I am happy with you.
Fer: Know what? I will make every effort to not yell at you so much. I promise.

Fernando Returns
Let: What’s the matter, Don Fernando?
Fer: I already called home.
Let: Did you forget something?
Fer: Yes. Know what? I want to… I want to tell you that tonight you were very good to me (se portó muy bien conmigo) Lety. If you had not helped me I would have been LOST.
Let: Ay, Don Fernando, I would do anything for you.
Fer: Yes, I see that. For that reason I want you to know that I too am willing to do anything for you, Lety. Yes, I don’t know, I don’t know.. I’ve never felt this way. You know? And suddenly I realize that… that I am…
Let: Yes??
Fer: That I am hopelessly in love with you, Lety.
Let: Are you saying that truthfully?
Fer: Yes. You are more than an angel in my life, Lety, you are everything. Everything, and even a little bit more.
Let: Ay! That is the most beautiful thing that I ever heard in my life!
Fer: Forgive me for expressing myself this way, but I couldn’t help it anymore, I had to tell you! My dear, thank you, thank you, my dear, my queen. Lety.. Lety..

Llena de Amor #45 Fri 10/8/10

Well – I haven’t watched all week but I read the recaps and saw references to Jackie hot dress this, Jackie boobie that, now I see what all the talk is about. Jackie, who has her boobs hanging out, tells Low that she thinks this outfit covers her up too much. He agrees of course and sends someone off to make alterations. She tells Low that she doesn’t really like any of the outfits, she brought better stuff from Italy, she would like to show him. He suggests doing that over some wine at his love nest, she goes for it. Emiliano shows up and wants to talk to Low in private. The men leave and Begonia runs in, Jackie tells her how easy it was to seduce Low. Begonia says sorry to ask you to do that but I can’t think of any other way! Jackie is more than happy to help. Now Begonia has to help her with her problem – getting Ilitia away from Eman.

Emil complains to Low about his problems, including Fedra being out all night and getting jacked. Emil confronts him about Fedra’s designer living in the same building as his love nest. He concocts some story about Francois, the designer, oh yeah I know that guy. Emil tells Low that he doesn’t approve of his philandering ways. He reminds him that Muneca is the part owner of the agency and he just represents her. He tells Low that if Muneca gets tired of Low, he (Emil) will side with Muneca, and ‘you know’. That is him not saying that if that happens, Low will get bounced out on his ass.

Kristel and Ilitia gripe about Mari working at the agency, and the appearance of Jackie. Kristel tells Ilitia sorry, but if Jackie wants to steal Eman, he is as good as stolen. Ilitia doesn’t like that.

Muneca and Jackie share memories of Jackie’s mother. Jackie pumps her for info on the impending Eman/Ilitia wedding. Muneca tells her that she is invited, but doesn’t expect that she’ll go. Jackie says no she won’t, and neither will anyone else, because those two aren’t going to get married. She goes on about the pain she felt when Ilitia stole Eman from her, she is basically declaring war right here to Ilitia’s mother. Muneca says you can’t stop the wedding, sorry. Jackie says I don’t have to, because YOU are going to stop it. Jackie tells her that before her mother died, she told Jackie her little secret – that Ilitia is adopted. How is that going to look if the news gets out? I didn’t realize that being adopted would ruin a model’s career, I’m failing to see the logic here. A cultural thing I guess, or something about her not coming from proper parentage or some crap like that.

Mari runs home and says out loud “Eman in love with me? That would be like a dream!” Eman’s voice says, it isn’t a dream. He’s sitting right there on her bed and somehow she didn’t see him. I suspect fantasy sequence, let’s see. She asks are you really in love with me? He says (in very long fashion) yes. The sappy music plays and they kiss. The phone rings, waking her up from her dream. Yes, it was a fantasy sequence. Emil is on the phone. He wants to know why she quit? She says something about not feeling good, he tells her not to lie, he knows it’s about her boyfriend. When she comes to work in the morning they will have a serious talk.

Muneca paces around and frets.

Jackie shows up to Low’s love nest, he is already in his silk jammies and robe, in full Hef mode. They do gross flirting stuff. She tells him that she was at his house earlier talking to his wife, getting tips on how to please him. He bristles, she tells him it was a joke, she was there because Muneca and her mother were so close. When low goes to get a drink for Jackie, Jackie pours some powder in Low’s drink. He proposes a toast to an ‘unforgettable’ night. I suspect that in reality, he won’t remember any of it.

Mari talks to Brandon, who is super duper jealous about her working at the agency with Eman. Some noise comes from the other room so they go in there, everyone else is watching TV. Her commercial comes on where she gets diet powder dumped on her. A guy that lives there named Jairo says something about getting into TV, Brandon says well talk to Mari, she’s an executive at an agency and she’s an expert in humiliations! He pouts and stomps off like a teenager.

I guess nobody can find Axel, Gretel and Eman are arguing with Emil about it. The kids tell Emil that if anything happens to Axel, it’s his fault for kicking him out. He (Axel) made the decision to be how he is etc etc. Eman says if Emil doesn’t let Axel come home, then he will move out too. Emil says fine, then get out now. Tia Carlota bursts in and reads Emil the riot act, saying who do you think you are? A judge condemning your kids! She tells Emil that if Axel can’t come back to this house, she will have nothing more to do here, and Emil will have to suffer the consequences.

Brandon’s Mom defends Brandon, she can work anywhere but men like him aren’t that easy to find. Netty comes home and cries that they treated her poorly and nobody remembered her. The producers used to fight over her! Gladiola says get the popcorn, start the video, code red! Everyone starts running. No idea what that is about.

While trying to be smooth, Low gets some kind of headache and almost passes out. His unforgettable night is about to be forgotten. He’s out now. Totally out. Jackie gets out some scissors and a plastic bag, she cuts off a bit of his hair. GAH that’s not how it works for DNA! You need the part of the hair that is under the skin (I can’t remember what it’s called), not just random pieces of hair. She calls Begonia to give her the good news.

Begonia goes back to the TV room in the Pension, they are watching some old show with Netty in it, one that she won an award for. They all applaud her, she stands up and bows. Wow that didn’t take much effort to cheer her up.

Spiderus tells Fedra she has to get Mari back to the house, so she can attend to destroying her more easily, like Eva.

Brandon tells Oliver that he’s breaking up with Mari. She started this whole thing to make Eman jealous, which isn’t going to work if they work together all day. Brandon gets a phone call, he says he’ll be right there. He tells Oliver that someone found a body and the description is similar to Axel. Gretel just happens to have walked in and freaks out.

Ilitia is trying to bully her way into the agency to see Eman, the desk girls are shutting that down. Ilitia tries to say that Eman’s commands were a joke. She insults them, “are you not smart enough to realize how stupid you are?”, then acts like she’s just going to go on in, but turns and bumps into a big security guard who shakes his head no at her.

Gretel continues to freak out. Oliver says they don’t know who it is yet, so chill! Brandon says someone has to identify the body, will she come along? Oliver hates the idea.

Jackie is wearing a dress that covers more than before, so I guess the changes she asked for weren’t made. She is having pictures taken, Low comes in and tells the photographer to get out for a minute. Low asks Jackie what happened last night, she says nothing except she found out he isn’t the tiger he thought he was. Just then Emil and Eman wander in arguing, would they have done that if the photo session was still going on? Emil wants to know why the film session isn’t ready, Emil says that everyone isn’t there yet, Begonia had to drop off the baby. Low busts in to say I told you so about hiring her. Eman says there was something else missing too, something Mari was supposed to do. Low pounces on this, saying sorry Emil, I know she’s your niece, but if she doesn’t shape up we’ll have to fire her. Mari walks in and says not necessary, I quit!

Begonia must be using extra boob hanging out to convince the doctor to do the DNA test because those babies are one deep breath from popping free. Nice swim strap tan lines too, I can’t believe they didn’t cover that with makeup or something. She gives the doctor some blood and Low’s hair. Doc says ok, a couple days and you’ll have news. She tells the baby that when they prove that Low is the father, things are gonna change!

Emil tries to talk Mari out of it, Low says “hey she quit let her go”. Emil tells him to get out this is family business. He says fine, come on Jackie we’ll go talk about work. Jackie tells him that she hopes he doesn’t fall asleep in the middle of their talk. HA. Eman wants to know why she is quitting. She says it’s too much to work and go to school, so that’s it. Eman says ah, no, your boyfriend pressured you to quit, right?

Low tries to save face with Jackie, “that never happened before!” He wants another chance and moves in all slimy to try and work his magic. She tells him that she’s not interested.

Eman and Emil lay into Mari, “today he won’t let you work here, what tomorrow? You can’t even come see us?” Mari says she made this decision herself, it’s their problem if they don’t believe her. Eman tries to stop her, then Iliia walks in and tells Eman that if Mari wants to leave, let her! How did she get in? Low reappears and is glad to see her. Jackie asks if they are going to work or just talk about personal problems, because she’ll quit too! Ilitia says ok fine, BYE. Ilitia says if a real model is needed, she is here herself. Low agrees.

Carlota wants to know why Fedra hasn’t talked Emil into accepting Axel. Fedra acts like she actually would do that. What a suckup. Gretel and the cops who never dress like cops come in and Gretel says it may be too late for that. They ask Fedra to come with them to see the body.

Eman tells Ilitia to quit acting like a baby. Ilitia and Jackie sling insults at each other. Eman reminds Ilitia that she isn’t allowed in the agency. Low says what? She can come whenever she wants! Mari says again that she’s leaving. Eman tells her to wait, Mari says attend to these two that are fighting over you. Eman’s phone rings, he tells Mari to wait. Spooky music tells us it’s bad news. It’s Gretel telling Eman to come. Emil wants to know what Gretel said.

Everyone shows up at the morgue but it looks more like a hospital. Fedra tells Gretel to quit crying, she doesn’t have time to deal with her having a crisis. Wow this bitch is cold. Gretel says what are you going to do if it’s Axel, throw a party to celebrate the death of your son? Fedra goes to smack her but Oliver stops her. Fedra says who are you, butting in our business? He says nobody now, but later you’ll have to deal with me.

Carlota talks to Paula in the kitchen. Carlota says how has it come to this? Paula says if you want to know who’s at fault, look around you. Carlota says you’re right, Fedra and Emil aren’t taking care of their kids. Kristel and Orangey burst through in the middle of some flirt game or something and Carlota yells at them and says Axel might be dead.

Benigno tells Maximo what’s going on with the cops, etc. Maximo looks like he’s having a heart attack.

Mari shows up at the morgue, everyone is hyper but nobody knows for sure if it’s Axel or not. Fedra acts all worked up and says she can’t handle it, she can’t see the body if it’s really Axel. Brandon says they haven’t identified the body still, this family will have to identify him. Ilitia showed up too to comfort Eman, Mari is jealous. Eman says it all has to be a mistake, it can’t be Axel. Oliver’s phone rings, it’s Doris looking for an update. No news. Doris tells the other ladies in the house what’s going on.

Brandon says that they are still doing the autopsy, so they’ll have to wait before seeing the body. Fedra puts on an act like she cares. Brandon says the person died in a bar fight. Eman loses it and starts yelling at his parents that it is their fault that this happened because of how they treated Axel, they are guilty of killing his brother! He’s totally right, of course. Emil cries and Fedra tries to look like she cares.

Muneca is having a breakdown over keeping the secret of Ilitia being adopted. She is dumping all of her angst on the poor maid, who has apparently become a close friend to her. She could never get pregnant and then she found out that Low knocked up some slut who wouldn’t and couldn’t take care of the baby. Muneca took the baby and that baby is Ilitia!

Emil tells Eman that he is right, it is his fault. He was a bad father. Fedra says they don’t know yet that it is Axel. He says whatever, we were so wrong!

Netty is dressed all in black, ready to go comfort poor Emiliano on his loss. The other ladies rightly point out that they don’t even know yet that Axel is the dead guy. Netty says whatever Emil needs me now more than ever! She’s so desperate it’s sad.

Kristel talks to Fedra by phone. Kristel can’t stand just waiting, she wants to do something useful. Should she plan a funeral service? Even Orangey in the background rolls his eyes at this, knowing what a stupid idea that was. Fedra says no, they don’t even know if it’s Axel! She hangs up on Kristel. Kristel whines and then Benigno comes in screaming for help, Maximo needs help! Carlota hears too and runs off.

Fedra stops Mari and gives her a hard time, asking what she’s doing here. Mari says Axel is her cousin, of course she is concerned. Fedra says sure, you love your cousins, that’s why you wanted to take Eman’s place at the agency. Mari says that’s not true and now’s not the time to talk about this. Ilitia and Spiderus are eavesdropping on this conversation rather boldly. Fedra says then tell me when we SHOULD talk about it. Brandon interrupts to say it’s time to see the body.

Paramedics have arrived to tend to Maximo, Benigno continues to run around yelling like a nutcase. Kristel whines about all the stress of everything.

Fedra whines that she can’t go see the body, again. Brandon says she has to, it should be the parents. Spiderus jumps in to say that he’ll go in. WTF. Eman says no, it should be family, he’ll do it. Gretel says she’ll go too. Emil says now that he’s going too, Mari too. Branon hugs Mari. Ilitia tells Eman that she can’t go with him, she just can’t. He says it’s ok. They go down the hall.

They go into a room with a body covered by a sheet. Eman hopes that this is really just a bad dream. Brandon says he hopes it isn’t Axel, Eman says thank you. Brandon knocks on the window for the guy to show the face, and the show ends. I knew without a doubt that there was no way we were going to see today who the body was.

Monday – Muneca tells Ilitia that she isn’t her daughter. Netty gets her wish and makes out with Emiliano in some hallway somewhere. AND – Brandon and Ilitia get hot and heavy, I think at HER HOUSE, and her parents barge in and interrupt them. Monday’s show looks good. No hint about Axel though. I have a feeling (guessing, no spoilers) that it isn’t Axel or that would be the focus of the entire show on Monday.

Dinero, Friday, October 8th – No barbecue, but things are really cookin’

After yesterday’s previews, I was all excited that I’d get to recap the soon to be legendary barbecue at the hacienda, replete with food, drinks, all the rivals for all the loves, and of course, bikinis. But such was not to be. However, there were all sorts of fun developments tonight, together with musical entertainment and some wicked humor, so I wasn’t disappointed in the least. I guess it was like the appetizer for the big meal, full of zest, and very savory, getting us ready for the feast. My mouth is watering, just thinking about it. Let’s enjoy.

Vicky is hot to trot, suggests a hotel where she and Rafa can do “cositas”. She plants a Carmela-style kiss on Rafa, which he bravely endures before pulling back, they “need time” before their passion can come back. She’s not buying this, but he’s saved by the bell, that is, his cellphone, Doña Arcadia has summoned him. Well, can’t keep the boss lady waiting, as he tells Her Royal Highness to count to ten, and before the rooster sings, he’ll be there!

Said exalted one has summoned Pepeto and Dandy to solve the mystery of why they were hiding from Carmela. She tells them “I’m waiting” (estoy esperando). However, esperando also means expecting, so Dandy stupidly asks if she’s expecting a baby. Guess not, she’s expecting an explanation. They’re shocked she knows all about the hiding, wondering if she’s a clairvoyant (vidente) or fortune-teller (pitonisa). She intimidates them into talking. “Once upon a time” (habia una vez), begins Dandy, but Arcadia’s already heard Cinderella 1000 times, and finally gets the boys to talk. They start with the fact that Jimenez saw Carmela and Marco kissing. Oooh, this is good, thinks Arcadia, ordering Chato to bring her “medicine” (which looks like brandy).

It’s evening in a windy, leafy, rootop café, and Marco greets a recalcitrant Alejandra. She gets right to the point, telling him she’s quite troubled by the fact that Rafa’s Mom was put in jail just now, she thinks Marco did it to separate Rafa and Ale. Marco starts out with it’s just a coincidence, there’s no proof, but Ale (finally) isn’t buying it, and Marco takes off the gloves. He thinks Ale should come back to him, and if not, there just might be “more coincidences” that put the mother of “that lowlife” in jeopardy. “You disgust me” replies Ale (Yes!), finally seeing Marco’s true colors.

Felipe’s doing the crossword puzzle. What’s a burro with four letters? He thinks it’s Pancho, Pancho thinks it’s Felipe, Dad corrects them, it’s un asno (a donkey). In waltzes Vicky, chirping away happily. She’s getting her pajarito back, Doña Leonor’s out of jail, and they’re having a “surprise party” at Leonor’s house. In a half hour. The boys wonder how she can cook up something to bring to the party that fast, but in less than two minutes, she brings out 4 HUGE platters of meaty dishes,

pointing out that a woman in love can do anything. As she goes back into the kitchen, Gaston wonders if he wasted his money on that psychologist. The boys point out that after dealing with Vicky, the psychologist probably needed treatment for himself (I agree).

Marco insults Ale a bit, calling her ungrateful, immature, etc., when who should show up but Daniel, bringing an instant smile of relief to Ale’s face, and prompting Marco to go postal. What’s up, now you’re changing suitors like handkerchiefs (cambiando pretendientes como pañuelas)? Daniel defends Ale, saying he knows martial arts (yeah, right). Mad Marco’s getting red,

but Dapper Dan is cool, just lapping it up.

The yelling starts, and Ale threatens to leave if Marco doesn’t sit down. He sits, and Daniel tells “Marquito” that he can see from a mile away (a leguas) that Ale doesn’t love Markie anymore. So why not get divorced like a civilized couple? Ale agrees. Daniel then asks if Marco’s coming to the party at the hacienda. This really gets Marco upset, he was the last to hear of this (and he thinks to himself, what gives? It must be Shrimp Man). Daniel thinks to himself, if this guy only knew that I bought the hacienda…. Ale thinks to herself, gotta get out of here, I miss Rafa. Marco’s phone rings, and as usual he says it’s Urdiales (it’s really Claudia, inviting him for a night of steamy passion). He moves a few feet away to answer. And guess what! Daniel knows Urdiales, and doesn’t think Marco works for him. Ale says he works in secret. We’ll see, muses Daniel (another Yes!) Marco leaves.

Daniel convinces “Ale chiquilla” (Ale my little kid) to stay for dinner, and he proceeds to pour on the bull about how he’ll do anything for Ale, he’s patient, caring, wonderful, and doesn’t she find a few things about him appealing? Ale admits he has no problems whatsoever with self-esteem (!) Daniel asks if Arcadia and Beltran can come to the party. No problem (it looks as if the immediate world will be there). She also has her doubts about his ownership of the hacienda, but he says he’ll prove this soon. He goes on and on about how wonderful he is, her wishes are his desires. She goes okay, I desire to go home, But she does have one question. Is he going to keep talking and talking all night? No, just until we get to your house, he says slyly.

After remarking that she wishes Pepeto would change his name, because it sounds too much like “mamotreto”, (which is a big, useless book), Doña Arcadia gets Rafa to confirm Dandy and Pepeto’s account about Carmela. Rafa says they had to prove that sneaky Marco is a con-man, who cheats Ale left and right (la engaña a diestra y siniestra). They knew Marco kissed Carmela, and Rafa is sure that since Carmela is in charge of the legal procedures with the hacienda, there must be some kind of deal between her and Marco. Arcadia then says what we’ve been saying for months. If you really care about Alejandra, why don’t YOU go confront Carmela personally, instead of sending your buddies? (Amen!) Rafa realizes she’s right, and thanks her. Chato brings some beef tacos, cooked onions and pápalos, (a green herb which helps digestion), all of which turn out to be for the dogs. But Arcadia decides she and Rafa can have some, too. She lovingly watches her doggies eat. When they seem to gorge on the meat and leave the tortillas, she reminds them to eat the tortillas, too, they need their calcium.

And boom, we’re at the party! No, not the hacienda party, it’s welcome home to Leonor, with balloons and signs at the family home.

Pepeto, Jimenez, Susana, Dandy and Trapito are there, too. Jimenez is happy Leonor got out of the can (bote, slang for the slammer), and Susana points out that the planets are now in harmony. There’s a banging on the door, and Vicky and crew (including her amiga, don’t know her name) happily bring in their bountiful trays of beef. Jaime, Julieta and Cesar are there, too. Don Gaston has some kind words for Leonor, and I wonder if these two might get together. Vicky wonders why Rafa is late, but then they hear him coming, and she shooshes the whole crowd. When Rafa opens the door, everyone yells “surprise!” He’s happy that they’re all together. Vicky offers Rafa some of the food, and Susana inquires whether there might be any vegetables. Pancho and Felipe are a bit surprised that anyone would turn down the best meat in town, having never heard of a vegetarian. Rafa gets some of the whiskey left over from the accident, so very long ago. Vicky gives him a happy, but awkward kiss. The plastic cups are filled, and Rafa toasts his Mom, they’ll always care for her, just as she always cared for him and Julieta.

So what can top this? Rafa’s gonna sing! Julieta puts on a karaoke disc, the dancing starts (Leonor showing some excellent moves),

and Rafa sings Que Esto Que Lo Otro. Here’s a link. And here are the lyrics:

LA VECINA DEL NUMERO 18 LE DIJO A LA DEL 10
QUE HACE MUCHO QUE ESTOY LLEGANDO TARDE
AQUÍ YA COMO VES.
TANTO CHISME YA TIENE HASTA
EL COPETE A MI POBRE MUJER
DON CIPRIANO EL DE LOS ABARROTES
YA NI ME QUIERE VER

QUE ESTO QUE LO OTRO CHISMES NOMAS

DOÑA JUANA LE PLATICO A MI HERMANA
QUE EL SABADO ME VIO
CON LA SEÑO QUE VENDE LOS TAMALES
Y QUE HASTA ME BESO

MIS AMIGOS ME DICEN QUE ME CAMBIE
YA DE ESA VECINDAD
SI NO HAGO UN DIA YA DE PLANO
ME VAN A DIVORCIAR

QUE ESTO QUE LO OTRO CHISMES NOMAS
NUNCA LE DAS GUSTO A NADIE
HAY QUE AGUANTAR
TE DAN CARRILLA Y NO TE DEJAN DE TIJEREAR
NO NECESITO DE REMOS PA´ NAVEGAR
VIVO MI VIDA SIN IMPORTARME EL QUE DIRAN

HABLADO:
QUE DOÑA CHANA LE DIJO A DOÑA CHONA
QUE EN LA TIENDA DE DON CHENCHO
ME VIO CON UNA CHACHA
QUE PARECE CHANGA
Y QUE SI NO ME PONGO TRUCHA
ME VA A LLEVAR LA
CHIFLENLA MEJOR COMPADRES.

DOÑA MECHE LE DIJOA DOÑA CLETA
QUE SOY UN GUENDAJON
QUE NO TENGO NI EN QUE CAERME MUERTO
BIEN AMOLADO ESTOY
MIS AMIGOS ME DICEN QUE ME CAMBIE
YA DE ESA VECINDAD
SI NO LO HAGO DE UN DIA
YA DE PLANO ME VAN A DIVORCIAR

QUE ESTO QUE LO OTRO CHISMES NOMAS
NUNCA LE DAS GUSTO A NADIE
HAY QUE AGUANTAR
TE DAN CARRILLA Y NO TE DEJAN DE TIJEREAR
NO NECESITO DE REMOS PA´ NAVEGAR
VIVO MI VIDA SIN IMPORTARME EL QUE DIRAN
VIVO MI VIDA SIN IMPORTARME EL QUE DIRAN

It’s basically about gossip, although I’m not really sure how to translate the title (something like this one or that one). A good time is had by all.

After the commercial, Ale’s home, and Jorge’s still trying to remember the Swiss bank account number. He does remember it has two 8’s. Rosario arrives, looking very happy about the way things are going with her Enrique (Quintana). Ale explains how she met with Daniel, and is wondering how he claims to own the hacienda, when they sold it to “Rubiales” (shrimp man). Jorge is still not hungry, unless as they have some more Swiss enchiladas.

The wah-wah guitars signal that it’s time for some sensuality. Claudia and Marco are undressing each other, he saying there’s nothing better than forbidden love, while she says she has no regrets about what they’re doing. Neither does he, as he buries his face in her twin peaks,

and we’re left to our imaginations as to whether they reach Mount Everest.

Jorge and Rosario are sitting at the dinner table, but he’s depressed again, no appetite. The bell rings, Rosario gets it, her eyes go wide, and I can’t believe it, but Rubi’s back! The long legs

are topped by her tight white nurses uniform, sumptuous boobs, and sparkling smile.

She rushes to her Georgie, who is so happy to see her he almost can’t contain his emotions. Rubi checks out his food (too salty, too cold), summons Azucena to get some new eggs, without salt, and hot, and by the way, freshen up the juice. Rubi goes to his bedroom to get his medicine, and Jorge’s eyes follow her butt like a puppy dog.

In fact he’s down on all fours, crawling after her! Even Azucena says this woman is like a miracle!

Uh, well, I’m not sure Azucena would really say that, and it turns out this whole thing was a dream! Jorge’s in bed, thinking how much he misses Rubi, and resolving to call her soon. He even remembers he has her number in his address book. And he’s going to go back to sleep, and keep dreaming of his dear Rubi.

It’s morning, and Ale arrives at work looking somber in shades. She seems to have made some sort of decision. She looks at Rafa, he looks at her, and a thousand emotions seem to cross her face, from love, to hope, to (possibly) resignation. He asks what they’re going to do. She replies that they can’t be selfish, they’re hurting a lot of people. They can’t keep trying to avoid their destiny. They have to break up. Forever. And just try to be happy anyway. Are you sure? he asks with a soft voice. Rafael, you know I adore you…..(he pulls his hand away,

stares at her, eyes brimming with emotion, and the episode ends).

But not to worry, it looks as if Monday, we’ll have fighting, loving, kissing, and bikinis!!!! Hope it’s not another dream!

El Clon, Fri., October 8 - Summary for Discussion

Zeín tells Said that he loves Jade and if Said doesn't want to marry her, he will.

Albieri has given Luisa the slip again. He is with Amalia. He tells her that the role of scientists is to break the ethical barriers of the society in which they live. He says that the greatest barrier is cross-species cloning. He claims that the centaurs and minotaurs of the ancient world were not myths but 'transgenic clones.' [Has he completely lost his mind? Are we heading for the classic mad scientist breakdown?]

Anita gets the Chump to tell her where Albieri went to have lunch.

More hypothetical questions- Amalia asks Albieri how we would feel if had created a human clone. He thinks, '¡Cuánta admiración siente por mí!' She admires me so much! He says, 'Me sentiría jugando a ser dios,' I would feel like I was playing God,' answers Albeiri. Anita has come into the restaurant.

Mohamed wakes up. [He got to miss the cramped seats, bad food and endless waiting of international travel. Oh wait, they flew on AeroNovela. In reality, transporting an unconscious person would cost tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars.] When he is told that he is in his own bed, he tells Latifa that he had a terrible nightmare. But it may not be over.

Abdul, Zumaya, Zuleica and her father have just landed in Miami. Zuleica is shocked at how Floridians dress. Abdul tells her that she hasn't seen anything yet. He advises them to cover their eyes (ojos tapados) during the drive. Zuleica covers Zumaya's eyes but Zumaya takes her hand away.

The lawyer comes to see Cristina, Vicki and Dora. She tells them that to prove that Leo and his wife who died 30 years ago are the parents of a 20 year old, Leo will have to prove that cloning has taken place (sí hubo una clonación) and the judge will have to decide who Daniel's parents are. She says that it is a unique case and depends on Daniel's testimony. Dora replies that Daniel doesn't want to go to court and hear all the idiocy about him being a clone.

Rosa calls Cristina to tell her that Marisa has chosen a pastel color (tono pastel)for the wedding. Cristina allows as how she doesn't like pastel colors. She would rather have something livelier like, fuschia. After the call, Rosa is all indignant at Cristina's interfering ways and wonders why Leo is getting married now. Marisa points out that it is Cristina's wedding and she should make the decisions. She also wishes that she could escape from reality like Leo is.

Rosa wonders if Nati will attend the wedding. Marisa hopes not. She is concerned that Nati and her ghastly friends will make a scene. Rosa tells Marisa that Nati is in her room with Paula. Paula and Nati have decided to rob the house the day after the wedding. But Paula isn't waiting. She steals what appears to be a medal on a ribbon from Nati's room. Nati wonders where Fer is.

Fer is stealing the radio out of his neighbor's car. Condo security calls Clara and tells her that they want to bar Fer from the complex. Clara tells Enrique that she can't face her neighbors. She is sure that she will be pressured into selling her condo.

Daniel's arrival at Lucas' office leaves everyone slack-jawed. Lucas makes his fierce face and asks why Daniel is there. Daniel replies that Leo invited him to see the business. Lucas sends him on at tour with Carolina. When Roberto asks Lucas about a report, Lucas replies that since he is on Leo's side, Roberto should discuss the report with the clone.

Anita has called Julio to the restaurant where Albieri is telling Amalia about his God delusions. I'm not sure if Anita thinks Albieri is two-timing Luisa or is blabbing about Daniel. Julio doesn't want to make a scene and takes Anita out of the restaurant.

Fer comes to the lab and asks to see the Chump. Luisa tells him that his father isn't there. Fer bums $30 off her. The Chump was there and Luisa says that Fer looks terrible and asks what is going on with him.

It's a happy family scene at Latifa's house. Alí shoos everyone out so that Mohamed and Latifa can talk. Latifa asks how Mohamed could do this to her. Mohamed replies that he didn't want to marry again. He doesn't want Zamira and Amin to know what happened. He tells Latifa that she saved him and they kiss.

Hilda is upset that Karla put 'father unknown' on the baby's birth certificate. [Uh, Karla, you don't need to wear the shower cap when you aren't in the delivery room anymore.] Karla wants to wait for DNA confirmation that the child is Roberto's. That is not Hilda's strategy. She has called a press conference, a makeup artist to gussy Karla up and bought a tiger print hospital gown for her to wear.

Meanwhile, back at Lucía's, Rosario asks permission to go visit Consuelo's niece in the hospital. Lucía asks if the girl is married. Rosario volunteers the information that the mother isn't married, the father is unknown and is believed to be a married man. Maybe Lucía thinks that she is living in 1810 as opposed to 2010 because she finds this information so shocking that she starts to hyperventilate and has to immediately call Roberto. Consuelo seems to be up to something but we don't know what it is.

Alí has no sooner told Zoraida how happy he is that everything turned out all right when the Fez fuddy duddies arrive. Alí tells Abdul that Mohamed is in the hospital and can't have any visitors but is all right. Alí takes Abdul et al to the shop and Zoraida tells Latifa and Mohamed the bad news.

Alí comes to see Jade. She tells him that Said doesn't love her like before and even though she has begged him and told him that it will be different, he won't marry her. Alí advises her that men don't like women who suffer. He tells her that men are conquered through their eyes (al hombre se le conquista por los ojos) women, through their ears (a al mujer por el oído).

Jade goes shopping and runs into Marisa and Lucía. After the exchange of pleasantries, Jade leaves and Marisa tells Lucía that she is sure that Jade is meeting Lucas.

Zeín tells Rogelio that he doesn't know why Said hasn't married Jade but if he's not going to do so, maybe there is a chance for him. Rogelio asks if Zeín thinks that he might be the reason for Said's failure to marry. Zeín doesn't know. He says that he will talk to Said in a few days.

Malicia and Diana come in. Diana gives Zeín his invitation to Cristina's wedding. Malicia is shocked that Cristina is marrying Leo and we get the first hint of some connection between Malicia and Leo since she first showed up in Miami and was looking at a magazine with a picture of Leo. When Zeín and Rogelio have left, Diana asks if Malicia is going to the wedding with Rogelio or Pablo. When she is alone, Malicia says that it is too bad about Pablo but she has to think of what benefits her the most [when has she not?] and Rogelio can give her so much more.

Alí tells Mohamed that he has until the weekend to figure out a way to get unengaged. Otherwise, he will have to marry since he gave his word.

Jadiya manages it so Jade is alone with Said to win him over. She maneuvers Rania and Amina into taking Munir to meet Tío Alí. She tells Jade what she had done and tells her to take advantage of it.

Karla has been tarted up. A reporter and photographer arrive and Hilda announces that her grandson is the only son and heir of Roberto del Valle, an executive in Empresa Ferrer.

Jade dazzles Said by dancing in a lime green outfit.

Mohamed tries to think of a way to get rid of Zuleica. Zamira comes and says that Abdul called and said that he was coming over with someone named Zuleica. Zamira wants to know who she is.

It's Leo's wedding day. Rosa is her gloomy self. Leo says that he is more nervous than when he married Lucas' mother. 'Sí, conociendo a la novia, yo también lo estaría,' Yes, says Rosa, knowing the bride, I would be, too. When Marisa comes in, Leo admires her dress. Rosa says, '¡Así es como se viste una verdadera dama!' That is how a real lady looks. Leo assures her that Cristina won't interfere in Rosa's kitchen. Rosa replies that she hopes not but all of Leo's previous girlfriends have thought that they knew more than she does. Marisa asks Lucas to talk to Nati.

Nati refuses to change out of her regular ugly clothes. Lucas tells her to shape up but it's obvious that she is not paying attention.

Just when we thought we could escape, we get a PSA from Enrique.

Nati comes down for the wedding and puts her feet on a chair.
'Mamá, ¿Por qué no finges que no me ves? Así como finges que no ves tantas cosas,' Mother, says Nati, why don't you pretend not to see me just like you pretend not to see so many things. Marisa asks for the 1000th time why Nati hates her so much. A nasty fight ensues in which Nati hits her mother and Marisa slaps her.
'
The credits roll.
