wed 5-14 - Juan Q - Juan is deep in kimchee, Pau thinks this couldn't be, and we get to meet Hillary
Juan tells disbelieving meddlers, Sandro and Pau, that Hillary is really busy and going here and there, and wouldn’t have time to come in. They tell him, "But you said her business was having problems" he says well, she’s still busy and he wouldn’t presume to bother her with something silly like this. Pau throws in that if she is so open and laid back like he said, then it shouldn’t bother her to come in.
He explains that he doesn’t want to mix the two, presumably work and play. Sandro says that he was thinking maybe they could make a strategic alliance with her company that would benefit everyone involved and essentially it would be worth her while to come in.
Just then Laura calls and Juan takes advantage of that opportunity to lay it on thick to her, that he wants to suggest a strategic fusion and will talk to her tonight about it.
Juan continues that they have mutual respect so he’s not going to assume her schedule or desires will permit her to come in to Farell and agrees he will discuss it with her. Pau is still convinced this is a ruse.
Juan bubbles that he shouldn’t be such a bigmouth and he should subscribe to less tongue and more gray matter.
Pastor and Anga discuss Yadi’s traits that are similar to his. Pastor says could be coincidence and if he tells her he’s her Dad it would be like a novela, imagine that.
Anga says he won’t say anything, he just wants to make up for not being there as Dad. He’s excited at the possibility that Nid Mich could be his grandchild! Pastor is still skeptical.
Ana seeks the wondrous advice of Nidia/ Dr. Laura.
Jito runs with Flor to get her despensa ( box of food items and supplies for less fortunate folks).
He is enamored with the woman handing out the boxes, turns out she is Hillary Paris!!
Fer yells at Juan about what is he going to do now. Juan tells Fer he is supposed to quash his crazy ideas. Fer says it’s not his responsibility and anyway you are too stubborn. We see Fer is the pessimist, and Juan the optimist. Fer says they are sunk, Juan still is thinking of a way to work it out. There was a Chinches Brava somewhere in here.
Hillary asks if Juan needs anything and Flor chimes in he needs nothing he’s rich, his Dad helped me go to school. Juanito says he’s like you, and I bet he’d like to help. She asks what he does and Juanito explains he’s part owner of a huge important business. Of course you knew this was coming. So Hillary gives Juanito her card and says she wouldn’t mind meeting his Dad if he really would like to help.
Ana is nervous about what she’s feeling, she feels bad about respect for Samuel. Nid tells her she’s the real widow and even she doesn’t feel bad about moving on. Go for it. Ana says she isn’t like that and is worried about what people will think. Oh please.
Colgar tacones
Fer’s wisdom is for Juan to admit defeat to Pau but Juan replies not, Mandarina en Gajos.
Fer suggests to say she’s out of the country...Juan says no she’s too photographed, they would know where she is, yeah then there is no photo of you with her, either, Fer reminds him. He starts looking in the phone book but Fer says no millionairess is in the book. He says he’s looking for the agents of Pablo Montero his buddy who may know her.
Mar and Pau discuss Juan’s face when they asked him to present Hillary. Pau still doesn’t believe Paris would look at him. Mar says but you and I did and Pau says it’s different, we had this connection this caring, etc. Mar looks unconvinced.
Flor doesn’t want help from Juan and disappears into her house obviously agitated.
Ana tells Nid she’s only boinked Samuel. Nid can’t believe it and compares her to las Carmelitas Descalzadas. Nid offers her services as sex consultant.
Jito complains to Profe that Flor is mad but doesn’t know why. Lorenzo asks if he’s sure about that.
Juan gets through to Pablo and finds out he doesn’t know Hillary. But, he finds out there is a fashion show tonight that she is attending so he asks Fer to go with him. Fer says no way, he’s busy.
Laura calls again, and wants to know when they are getting together tonight. Doh, Juan is stuck refusing again and wants to do it another time, but he’ll see her tomorrow because she’s coming in to the office, remember? We earn another Chinches Bravas.
Mar is telling Pau Juan will be humiliated in front of everyone if Paris doesn’t show up. Pau says he deserves it and while they are discussing this, the foghorn tells Pau she has an e-mail. Crack me up. Not a little ding, or click, but a honking foghorn that takes over her entire screen. Good thing they don’t do any real work there. It’s from Sandro, that Hillary is coming tomorrow. Across the hall, yet another Chinches Bravas. Juan wants to murder him.
Lorenzo enlightens the young Jito to his first experience of jealousy. He suggests that Flor likes him and that she’s mad from the kiss. He thinks he should ask her to be his novia, he agrees he likes her.
Juan yells at Sandro...another Chinches Bravas.... He claims Hillary is busy, but Sandro thinks that she is very accessible. San suggests that Juan is acting as if maybe he really doesn’t have her as his girlfriend. Juan thinks he’s starting off wrong here, but Juan takes the bait and gets mad and assures that Hillary will come. Gray matter Juan, think gray matter.
Nid advises (Escote cadencia caminar) to walk with a swing and sashay, to pull in your butt and push up your chest. Ana promises she’ll think about the advice. She’s off, and just then Perafan comes out complaining about the phone ringing and no one answering, and Nid complains about him being her nightmare of a husband.
Ivy excited to see maybe meet Hillary, Pau not so much. She’s been the girlfriend of all these famous singers etc, there’s no way she’s the girlfriend of Juan. Ivy says well guess we’ll see tomorrow. She thinks Juan will invent a bunch of reasons why she couldn’t come.
CL yells at San for eating with Mar. San apologizes. CL asks if he’s interested, and San replies she’s very special and pretty, but CL says not as much as Pau. He thinks San is wasting his time with the secretary when he should be worrying about Pau. Sandro says don’t you think the secretary is important? Turst me I'm doing my job. Cl eventually comes around and agrees.
Sandro wants to sleep. CL wants him to call Pau. He doesn’t, so CL makes the call and invites her to dinner. She agrees and gives him the address, which of course he already knows.
Jito tells Pa about his "angel" who kissed him. Juan is proud of his son’s querendoness. Jito asks him about his first love and I think Juan tells him that he was always a girl chaser. Jito says oh, by the way, she gave me her card because I offered that you would help her with her care packages. He’ll look at the card later; now, Jito needs to take his bath.
CL picks up Pau and earns the icy stare from Ana. As her usual cynical self, she admonishes that he shouldn’t bring her back late. He promises to treat her like a cenicienta.
Juan goes to the event, but alas, he is stopped by the bouncer for not having an invitation. Caray! He didn’t say it.
He begs the bouncer for help because it’s a question of love, can you lend me a hand?
Ana invites Fer to dine with her and Ana. Willy shows up and invites her to dinner and will take no excuses. She says she’s dressed horribly. He says go change then. Fer promises to care for Ivy.
Juan tries to find an alternate way. Ok there is the Chinches Bravas. He’s stuck in a window trying to get in.
"Sandro" is at it again and took Pau for her favorite enchiladas and she questions that as well. Question man is back and she gets annoyed. He tells her she makes him feel like a new man.
Juan gets out of the window, but falls on a smoking man. Juan tells him he’s sorry but he lost his invite. The guy says here, take mine. He wants to drive home but Juan (public service announcement) says you are too drunk I’ll call you a cab. Smoking man is muy agradecido.
Sandro asks Pau to go dancing, as friends. He found CL’s membership to a club. Gee where is this one going?
Juan and the doorman: Here is the invite. Where did you get it? Here is the invite. Where did you get it? Here is the invite. Where did you get it? Here is the invite. The doorman smirks as Juan dances past.
Once inside he is looking all around and asks if a guy saw Hillary. He obviously doesn’t know what she looks like and approaches a woman who is not she and once he greets her as Hillary she thinks he’s casting a line and tells him to go be with his abuela.
Just then, who walks in, but Pau and Sandro/ CL/ CL as Sandro. They sit, and as Juan is looking around for Hillary, what does he see? He can’t believe it. His Palomita with the devil.
And Chinches Bravas!

Fuego, Wed., May 14: Sorry Padre, but cat-eye glasses went out in the 50's. And Juan, no more Aladdin shirts!
The bros. are in complete awe over Gramps’s Chuck-E-Cheese coins. “Don’t touch!” warns Juan. “It’s a tempting offer and we could solve a lot of our problems, but we would rather work really hard to come out ahead.” “Are you boys sure about this?” asks Gramps. “Of course we are” says Juan. “Yeah, my brother and I don’t have a brain between us, so we do whatever Juan says” grumbles Oscar. “I would take the offer if I were you” says Gramps, “but, because of this decision I respect you even more. He starts to wheel off, but Oscar stops him and asks if he can have just one little coin for himself, but backs down at Juan’s proud scowl.
Mommy is congratulating her little yernito in the office. She’s so proud that he was the better person when he gave Sofia the decision of building the cabaña or not building it. “Well, I just hope that one day I gain her affection.” “You will!” she asserts, “because you deserve it!” He proceeds to play the role of trustful accountant and ultimate executor of all Hacienda Agustin funds. “Here are the papers that prove it’s all here and I’m a good person.” “Oh, you flatter me. No need for those, I trust you” says an excited Gabby. Fernie thought-bubbles: “this new hypocritical attitude I got goin’ on is really working out great.”
Father Tadeo is in his study. “I have to write to my superiors and have them annul Sofia’s marriage. She can not continue with that Fernie. I will fight to free her, even if it’s the last thing I do.” Obviously, it will be the last thing he does, but the letter will somehow not arrive to the superiors, only to be found by some third party the last two weeks of this telenovela. Any bets I’m right?
Back in the clinic the bros. are thinking about how generous Gramps is. “Yeah, that whole family is pretty generous, at least most of ‘em” says Oscar. “Yeah” says Franco. “Woa, woa, woa. Don’t be thinking they’re nice, because they aren’t. We have to stick to our oath of vengeance. Right? Right?” None of them is really sure. “Stay the path! Stay the path!” Okay George Bush…
Jimena is serious and thoughtful in her bedroom. She confesses to Eva that she’s sad about Oscar disappointing her. Eva assures her that she’s always here to help. “You are so good Eva; I can always talk to you, unlike my mother. You are so thoughtful, caring, and helpful, unlike my mother. Why can’t my mother be like you?” Is this a hint that Jimena is Eva’s long-lost daughter?
Father Tadeo makes a visit to the hacienda where he meets Gabby. He comes to tell her that he will be conducting a Mass especially for the memory of Bernie and that her penitence is to attend the Mass and pray for the dead Libia. “Oh, you can count on me Father; I’m always ready to show the world that I am a good Christian.” “Right. And what about Sofia and Fernie: are they still sleeping in the same bed?” he asks. “Oh, no, Fernie is being such a gentleman by giving Sofia her own space. And whataya know? He even let her stop the construction of the cabaña!” Father Tadeo has a look of disgust. “Gabby, do you believe in Fernie’s sincerity?” “I don’t have any reason to doubt him. Why do you ask?” “No reason, no reason. Don’t pay any attention to me.” She has that look on her face that says; “I already don’t listen to you, you’re crazy for not praising Fernie.”
Eva thinks that Jimena and Sarita should live it up a little by going out and having fun. But Jimena explains that mommy wouldn’t allow it. “But you shouldn’t let your mother or anyone else stop you from living your life.” “Well, how do I pull it off?” “You’re a clever girl, you’ll figure it out.”
Sarita and Sofia are talking. “It may sound ridiculous, but I want you to show me how to fix myself up real purty.” She’s finally had the epiphany; no, Sarita, ever since we got off the Oregon Trail we don’t dress like pioneers anymore. “For Franco?” asks Sofia. “Yes. It’s just, I’ve never thought about my physical features and I want to impress him.” “Oh, Sarita, you don’t have to use make-up to impress him (I don’t use it and look at me…hmmJ), it’s the inside that counts, and you are beautiful on the inside.” “Thanks sis, you make me feel special and sure of myself.” They hug and smile, but the problem now is that Sarita thinks that you really don’t need make-up; this is a big mistake.
I’m just going to throw this out there: Franco has been sitting up in bed, fully conscious and in no pain, for three episodes now--don’t you think it would be okay for him to go home and sit on his own bed?”
Anyway, Juan and Franco are talking about Rosario and how he fears for her safety. At the same time Rosario is talking to her helper-person, and confesses that she loves Franco more and more each day, but feels obligated to separate herself from him for purposes of his safety.
Sabotage/spy time at the hacienda. Oscar is snooping around the gardens looking for some action, or, that is, Jimena. So, he jumps the fence, as if he couldn’t simply push through the shrubbery.
Jimena is conveniently in the garden and is thinking over Eva’s words. “What can I do?” she asks herself. Here’s Oscar to warm her lonely heart. “Well, I’m not going to work here anymore so I just wanted to say goodbye and I’m sorry.” EYYYYY AWWWWW. There’s that really corky donkey, whom I’ve named Eeyore, and its owner Father Tadeo. “Go, go, go” pleads Jimena. “Okay, but I’ll be back” warns Oscar. He leaves and Jimena approaches Father. She needs to talk to him. “Okay, but I hope you don’t have to confess, because everyone else in this house if confessing and, well, it’s not good.” “Nah, I just need to talk to you as a friend.” She admits that she has been having dreams about…men! Various men! But she’s not guilty, she loves men. “In this very moment I’m going to talk to your mother about locking you girls up like this” says Tadeo. And might I point out those glasses. Obviously the Church is on some sort of budget, I mean with giving the Father a donkey for transportation and all, but don’t you think they could have rounded up some glasses that were from any decade after the fifties?
Sofia is talking to Gramps. He is telling her about how great the Reyes bros. are. “They are so respectable, etc., etc.” “Exactly” agrees Sofia. “But your mother can not see their worth because they are bakers and bricklayers. But they don’t need money to show their worth. Actually, I think that Franco and Oscar would make great partners for Sarita and Jimena. And of course, you need someone like Juan.” Sofia smiles at this remark.
Sarita is by the wall reading poetry. Looks steamy. “BOO!” Jimena jumps out from behind the wall. “You scared me!” “You miss Franco!” taunts Jimena. “Well, I’m worried because he hasn’t returned.” “Yeah? Well I saw Oscar! Also, I talked with Father Tadeo, who is going to talk to mom about loosening our chains!!!” Sarita becomes giddy. Sometimes I wish I had these girls’s problems.
“No Gabby” says a frustrated Father Tadeo. “I’m begging you to give these girls some freedom.” “Okay, how about if I still make the girls stay here and I select boys from our social class to be with our girls. It’s the only way I’ll do it.” Father Tadeo concedes.
Eva has brought Franco, who is still in “intensive care,” some soup. “Be careful not to burn your mouth” warns Juan, who eats hot bread straight from the oven. Eva has come to make a deal with the bros. and wants to make sure that they don’t kill anyone. Juan reminds her that they aren’t going to kill anyone yet; they just want to make sure that they avenge their sister’s death.
Fernie has brought mommy some information on asylums; of course, she’s ecstatic. “You know that your wishes are orders to me” says Fernie. “Well, if dad makes me mad we’ll just throw him in this place secretly so that nobody knows.” She tells Fernie about her plans to bring men into the hacienda for her daughters. Fernie doesn’t like the idea of Father Tadeo telling Gabby what to do, but she already gave him her word, which means something, I think. So she’s going to have a big party. She sure changes her mind; she went from no looking at boys to, ‘let’s have a big party all about boys.’
Sofia is out riding in the truly beautiful countryside. She finds a waterfall, the same one in which Libia is buried, Juan Querendon swam, and Gavi sang, among other celebs. What a coinky-dink, Juan is there too. I think he’s reviewing the murder scene for further evidence. He wants to know what happened, but can’t figure it out because he lacks a lot of…uh, never mind.
Oddly enough, Fernie pulls Libia’s necklace out of his safe and places it on a cross. He smiles as he remembers the “accident.” He puts the necklace away and grasps the rod-iron cross. “I sure have a lot left to confess to Father Tadeo.” Uh, yeah you do…
Eva is talking to Gramps/Emiliano Zapata. “I really want those boys to come back to work, but I just need an accomplice. Will you be my accomplice?” “Okay, what does it entail?”
In the clinic, a doctor is removing the bandages. Looks like Franco gets to go home tomorrow if he behaves and doesn’t do anything dangerous.
Everyone is in the foyer enjoying the jokes and good company of Gramps. That is, everyone except the frigid witch (replace “w” with “b”) Gabby, who despises him for being loved and appreciated. He tells a joke about a whore house. Gabby walks by and warns that if he keeps up with his old tricks she’s going to have a big surprise for him. He blows the remark off with the usual defense.
Juan is sleeping in one of the clinic beds and wakes up yelling about his parents. Apparently he knows something about his parents’ death that the rest don’t. They want to know why their parents were murdered. Juan doesn’t really know, but he has a hunch that it was over something that belonged to them.
Fernie and Gabby are talking and are interrupted by the warm-hearted laughter of Gramps and friends. “I can’t take this anymore” says Gabby. “Do you want to continue with the plan?” Before she has time to respond Sofia enters and needs to talk to Gabby. “What do you want?” Sofia asks why they can’t get along and Gabby gives the ridiculous answer that Sofia isn’t anything like her dignified self and is too much like Bernie with her rebel ways and all. (You know Sofia, always wanting to go to the bathroom by herself, what rebel!) Gabby continues to remind Sofia that she owes everything to her. “Yeah, and I also owe my unhappiness to you” responds Sofia. “Here we go again” says Gabby. Sofia tells Gabby that she simply can’t see that the root of all problems is Sofia’s forced marriage, and how it has been detrimental to Sofia’s life. Sofia admits that his forced marriage reminds her of her rape. Gabby rolls her eyes. “I want to contribute my whole self to love and feel its effects. I want to love.” “Sofia!” Heathen! “You talk like a loose woman, you horrify me!” “No, mom, I’m talking like a woman who wishes to love. Now I understand that you don’t understand me, nor do you want to understand me. As always you are more concerned with keeping up appearances than my happiness.” She storms out. Gabby rolls her eyes a few times and goes back to work.
Why is Juan wearing an Aladdin shirt? Well, Juan has something to say. Basically, they failed since they got kicked out of the hacienda. They just assume that they’re going to give up their vengeance. “No way! We’ll find another way to get vengeance; we won’t give up on Libia.” The thing is, no one is quite sure how they’re going to do it. Remember, we’re dealing with a group of men who went to a hacienda, let their horses run off, had the intentions of infiltrating the house, and ended up as bricklayers. I don’t know about you, but any hopes of a new sabotage plan might just prove to be nonexistent.
Gabby is gabbing to Eva that she is giddy that Gramps is gone. Gotta love alliteration. “I have a solution to your problem with Don Agustin; just move him into the cabaña, it would be a waste to knock it down.” “Explain yourself Eva” demands Gabby, though, how do you make that any clearer? I guess this could be a ploy for Eva to get Gramps out by himself and then take advantage of him when he’s down. She clearly has a thing for older men/bosses.
Gabby tells Fernie that she’s going to continue construction on the cabaña to get Gramps out of the house for now. This will avoid most of their current problems with him and allow them to do more devious planning.
Flash to outside. We see three, well, more like one and a half beautiful girls. Sarita has had an extreme makeover, by which I mean she took her glasses off and let down her hair. They meet their counterparts who are dressed in charro outfits. Gabby has rehired the bros. to continue construction on the cabaña. The girls are happy. Happy because the bros. are back that is.
Gramps is dressed just like that one guy from Pasión. “Sister Storm is winning the battle, but not for long.” He closes Fernando de Salamanca’s telescope. “We must celebrate the arrival of our allies.” I love how Televisa recycles props.
Eva gets in the car with the girls, who are going to Bernie’s mass. “What are you doing Eva?” asks Gabby. “Going to mass.” “No way, if you want to remember Bernie you pray for him here, now get out! Fernie! Let’s move it!”
The bros. are back at work, if you can call it that, and Gramps is explaining to them that he is the one who will be living there. It’s important that they do the job right because this is also going to be the bachelor’s pad!
Eva is praying and remembering Bernie. She promises that she is going to help his daughters.
Gramps is giving dating advice to Franco. “You never give up, you must keep fighting.” He quotes Napoleon who said that in war and love you never give up. He also warns Franco that he should be more careful with his friends so that he doesn’t end up wounded like the last time. Oscar asks Gramps if he has had a lot of girlfriends and he answers ‘of course!’ He actually had his first girlfriend during the Revolution, when Zapata, his friend, didn’t have a girlfriend. Oscar then approaches Gramps for love advice. “You’ve come to the right place my boy!” He tells him to write love letters and to send flowers. Women love surprises too.
Sofia is in the clinic and has a flashback to her conversation with Juan. We’ve seen this everyday since Friday…
Back at the construction site Juan is the only one working, of course. He remembers an encounter with Sofia; we’ve seen this before too.
Tomorrow: Sofia and Juan are kind of talking and kind of holding hands. He’s talking about some secret he has and she wants to know what it is. But uh oh, Fernie sees this and isn’t happy.

La Traición, Tues., May 13 - Arturo escapes singlehandedly from the gunpowder hut; Michelle, Dr. Dan, Hugo & Soledad talk about love
”You say that I kissed you?” asks Soledad
“Do it again,” says Hugo, “Give me a kiss.”
Michelle tells Dr. Dan that she can still feel Hugo’s kiss on her lips. It was sweet and pleasant but it was a stolen kiss. It wasn’t for her. And now Dr. Dan tells her that he is in love with Soledad. “I think we’re in serious trouble” she says and he laughs in agreement. Dr. Dan asks what Michelle would risk for love, what would she sacrifice? Michelle says that she would do crazy things, jump in an abyss, fly without wings. She doesn’t know what she would do. He asks why she is single and she says she didn’t want to marry someone who would soon become a widower or pass the disease to her children. But now’s she cured and healthy (unless that flower is mighty powerful, it didn’t change your genes), she wants to fight for the man of her dreams. Dr. Dan says that every word she says resonates with Hugo, Hugo, Hugo. She doesn’t deny it. Hugo has shaken her soul. Then Michelle asks Dr. Dan what he would do to win Soledad.
Arturo is trying to put out the fuse or break the chain. He yells, “Murderer!” Walking away, Alcides hears the cry. He says that he had no choice. It was Arturo or him. Arturo finds a hatchet. He tries to break the chain with it. It doesn’t work. Then he uses it to get free of the chain in a different way. Alcides hears him scream. Seconds later the cabaña explodes. Alcides rides away. Arturo rolls down the hill dripping blood.
Eloisa wants to know who is this Vladimir Cuencas. Paquito says that he is an architect. Paquito met him at a party. He built the police station in San Marino and several houses for Jeremias …” Paquito pauses, “including the Obragon house.”
Hugo says to Soledad that he is in her bedroom, in her house. How did he get here? Soledad says that he had a catalepsy attack in prison. Michelle, Dr. Dan and Andres got Hugo out of prison. “And who else?” asks Hugo.
“And me,” admits Soledad.
“That means you helped me,” says Hugo. Soledad says that he should rest. “You brought me to your house. That means that…”
“It means that you’re the father of my child,” says Soledad, “I don’t know the extent of your memory loss but let me remind you that there is nothing between us. And I didn’t kiss you.” Hugo says that the mine investors will be looking for him everywhere. Soledad assures him that the last place they’ll look is her house. Hugo asks if she’s heard from Boris.
Flash to Boris being put in jail. He hopes that whoever got Hugo out of jail took him to a safe place and that he’s still alive. Then he asks himself why Marina betrayed him.
At Alcides’ cabaña, Eloisa and Paquito are trying to figure out the significance of the wanted poster. Paquito tells Eloisa to appear to find the poster by chance and then ask Alcides what it means. All of a sudden they hear Hercu-less calling Alcides. Paquito forgot to lock the door when he came in. Eloisa and Paquito hide. Herc comes in still calling for Alcides. He sees the skirt of Eloisa’s gown. He finds Eloisa and stands over her.
More confessions of the wannabee lovers of Hugo and Soledad. Dr. Dan says that he is afraid to go after Soledad. His experiences of love in the past haven’t been very agreeable. He has been married. He married young, his wife wasn’t the best woman in the world. She didn’t want to travel with him. One day he returned earlier than expected and found her with another man. He left and continued with his research. But Dr. Dan says that he would like to settle down and fall in love with a good woman who would make him believe in love again. He is afraid of making another mistake. Michelle asks if he is afraid of making a mistake with Soledad. Dr. Dan say no. He feels like he has known her his whole life. If she gives him the opportunity… Lucas for once has been doing something useful – keeping watch. He tells them that someone is coming. He doesn’t know who but they are coming straight here. Dr. Dan and Michelle go inside the house.
Margot is coming back from her swim in her saloon girl outfit but dreaming of pond love with Hercu-less. She comes back to reality when she finds Arturo sitting by the road nursing his presumably amputated wrist. While she stands there, he passes out.
Soledad tells Hugo not to be upset. It isn’t good for him. Hugo says that the mine investors were very aggressive. If they go to his house and find Boris and Marina, it would be terrible. Soledad says that she will take of that. Michelle comes in and tells Soledad, out of Hugo’s hearing, that Alcides is outside. Soledad leaves and Hugo wants to know what’s going on. Michelle says everything is ok. Soledad goes outside and asks Alcides what he is doing there. He says that he knows she is hiding his brother Hugo inside the house. Soledad plays dumb. She says that Hugo was detained by the police. He can’ t be here. Alcides tells her that Hugo escaped from the prison with the help of others while she, Soledad, created a diversion. Alicides says that he only wants to help Hugo. He asks her to let him talk to Hugo. Soledad continues to deny that she knows where he is. Alcides appears to be on the point of going into the house anyway when Michelle comes out with a basket and says that it is a perfect day for their picnic. Michelle and Alcides exchange looks. Meanwhile Dr. Dan is handing out weapons inside and Antonia has armed herself with a big stick. Ester thinks that they have gone crazy and that there will be bloodshed if Alcides finds out that Hugo is inside.
Margot tries to help Arturo. He tells her to get him a horse and take him to Dr. Max.
Eloisa and Hercu-less ask each other what they are doing in Alcides’ cabaña. Herc says that he has an appointment with Alcides and Eloisa says that she is Alcides’ lover. She starts to strip. That scares off Herc and Paquito moves in to take advantage of the situation.
Michelle introduces herself to Alcides. She says that she knows him. She was at the fiesta he gave for Soledad. She says that she is sure that he and Soledad have a lot to talk about. She will meet Soledad by the river. Soledad says that Alcides was just leaving. Alcides says to Michelle that he hasn’t seen her before in San Marino. He asks what she is doing here and what is her relationship with Soledad. “The only thing you didn’t ask me was my age, sir,” says Michelle, “You should be more courteous with women, especially those you have just met.” Alcides bows in recognition of his rudeness. Soledad says that her father does not want to see Alcides here. Accepting defeat, Alcides leaves saying that he will continue to look for his brother. Soledad says he should do whatever he likes. She doesn’t care.
Hugo wakes up. He gets up unsteadily and sits by Soledad’s dressing table. He fiddles with her hairbrush and jewelry and then rummages in the drawers. He finds the divorce decree and the renunciation of paternity of his daughter. He is happy. Soledad is free.
Soledad and Michelle are being observed by Alcides so they have to go through with their picnic. Michelle tells Soledad to smile and laugh so that Alcides doesn’t believe that she is worried about Hugo. It works. Alcides recalls that the police told him that when Hugo was taken from the prison, he was having a catalepsy attack. If Hugo were really that sick, Soledad wouldn’t be laughing and smiling. She must not know where Hugo is. He rides away. (Don’t you know women can fake it, Alcides?)
Margot brings Arturo to Dr. Max. He asks what happened but Margot doesn’t know. Dr. Max looks at the injury and says that Arturo needs an operation immediately.
Lucas is worried about Alcides being with Soledad and he wants to go out and find her. Dr. Dan says that Michelle is with Soledad and she can protect herself. They have to convince Alcides that Hugo isn’t in the house. Ester says that all this is happening because no one listens to her in this house. It is very dangerous for Hugo to be in the house. Lucas says that he and she have to talk.
Hercules rides away from the cabaña. Paquito helps Eloisa get dressed. If Alcides finds them, they’re dead. Paquito reminds her that she is to find out the relationship between the architect Cuencas and Alcides.
Dr. Dan is telling little Aurora that they have to find out if she has the same substance in her blood that will let her be cured. Hugo comes into the nursery and thanks Dr. Dan for what he did for him. Dr. Dan says that his father created the formula and Soledad was brave enough to inject it into Hugo. “Soledad?” asks Hugo.
“Yes,” says Dr. Dan, “Soledad gave you the injection of the flower extract when we all thought you were dead.” Hugo sits down by the baby and tells her that he found some documents that made him very happy. He is going to talk to the baby’s mother about becoming the baby’s legal father. Dr. Dan asks Hugo to authorize him to take a blood sample from the baby to test for the blood stuff that makes the cure work. “Go ahead,” says Hugo, “I would give my life to cure my daughter.”
Michelle says that she doesn’t see Alcides anywhere but they should continue with the picnic in case he is spying on them. Soledad thanks Michelle for her help. It would have been terrible if Alcides had discovered that Hugo was in her parents’ house. Michelle agrees and says that Alcides is very dangerous. She muses about how different the twin brothers are. Soledad asks Michelle if she kissed Hugo when she was alone with Hugo. She says that Hugo thinks that she, Soledad, kissed him. Soledad says that she didn’t kiss him and the only person who was with him was Michelle. She flashes back to the kiss. Michelle confesses what happened to Soledad. She says that he thought he was kissing Soledad. She was very embarrassed and left the room. She apologizes to Soledad for not telling her before she found out about it. She says it won’t happen again. Soledad asks if Michelle likes Hugo.
Hugo asks Dr. Dan now that he has a blood sample, when can he start treating his daughter. Dr. Dan says that if Dr. Max lets him use his equipment, today. Hugo says that he wants Dr. Dan to know how much he appreciates what he is doing for his daughter. Hugo asks where Soledad is. Dr. Dan says that she will be back in a minute. He apologizes for intruding but he says that Hugo loves Soledad very much. Hugo replies, “You ask if I love her? I would give everything I have and more to go back in time and be happy like we were before.”
“But Soledad is not very happy about everything you did to her,” says Dr. Dan.
”Soledad is a woman of great integrity,” responds Hugo, “She doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore.” Hugo asks Dr. Dan to help him up. He is a little dizzy. Dr. Dan says that he should rest and helps him back to his room.
Michelle is packing up the picnic basket. She says there is no sign of Alcides. They should go back to the house. Soledad asks for an answer to her question. After some hesitation, Michelle says that she likes Hugo a lot.
It surgery time at Dr. Max’s. Margot is assisting in a ridiculous-looking surgical mask. Dr. Max does the operation and Arturo is out of danger and missing one hand. Dr. Max tells Margot he knows who did it.
Alcides comes into the Hacienda. All the furnishings are gone and Marina is sitting on the stairs. He asks what happened. Marina says that the investors in the mine did it. They wanted the money back that Hugo stole from them. She asks if Hugo has been captured. Alcides says that he is still missing. Alcides sees Hugo’s portrait of their father lying on the ground. He flashes back to when he was a child and his mother blamed him for his father’s death and compared him unfavorably with Hugo. Hercu-less comes in and says that he waited for Alcides at the cabaña and then found out he was here. Alcides says he was busy. Herc says that the angry investors are heading for Soledad’s parents’ house to loot it. Alcides and Herc leave.
Ester continues to insist in her tiresome way that she doesn’t want Hugo in her house. Lucas responds that Soledad isn’t a child. She makes her own decisions. Ester says that Soledad is still her daughter and this is Ester’s house. She hates Hugo and is going to give him a piece of her mind. Lucas tries to stop her but she says that she will do what she wants.
Soledad says that she and Hugo made the wrong choice. What they thought was the purest love on earth remains in the past. Michelle says that she feels uncomfortable talking about his with Soledad. She should go home and forget the whole thing. There are lots of men out there. Soledad asks her to listen. She says that it is true that Hugo continues to be in her heart but Michelle might be the person to arrive in their lives to take Hugo out of her heart. Michelle replies that she isn’t the kind of person who comes between two people who love each other. Soledad says that she knows Michelle is a good person. She came to San Marino just to save Soledad’s daughter from her catalepsy. Very few people would do that. Michelle says that she is not asking Soledad to renounce her love for Hugo. Soledad says that already happened when he betrayed her. Michelle replies that she doesn’t know how all this will turn out but she has a lot of respect for Soledad. She is a great woman. Andres appears and says that the investors are coming to Soledad’s house. Soledad jumps up and says that they’ll find Hugo.
Here’s punishment for Hugo. He’s too weak to get up and has to lie there and take abuse from Ester. Hugo asks if Soledad has come back. Ester says that he is as stubborn as always. Hugo says that he doesn’t understand why Ester hates him so much. He never harmed her. (Quite the reverse in fact.) Ester says that she dedicated her life to making her daughter happy and he destroyed her dreams and Ester’s. Hugo replies that he and Soledad were very happy. Lies, says Ester. She accuses Hugo of seducing Soledad, getting her pregnant and not caring about her reputation. Fortunately, at this moment, they hear the sounds of the approaching mob. “What’s that racket,” asks Ester. “They’re coming for me,” responds Hugo. Ester leaves. Hugo tries to get up but he can’t.
Mob leader Manrique demands that Hugo come out of the house. Lucas is holding the mob off at gunpoint. He says if they advance one more step, he’ll shoot. Soledad says that there shouldn’t be any more violence. Soledad tells the mob that they won’t dare come in because her baby is inside. Why do they think Hugo is here? Manrique says they’ve looked everywhere else. He has to be here. Michelle and Andres recognize that the mob is too large to be held off with swords. Manrique tells Soledad that if she has nothing to hide, she should let them in to take a look around.
At Dr. Max’s, Margot asks why Dr. Max won’t tell her who did this to Arturo. Dr. Max says that he doesn’t feel like telling. Arturo can tell her when he wakes up. Margot says that he is lying. Arturo told her he had an accident with some gunpowder. A knock at the door is heard. It’s Dr. Dan.
At Rebeca’s, the treasure-hunting trio compare notes. Eloisa and Paquito tell Rebeca that they found a drawing of an architect in the house. Rebeca has a brain flash. You need a place to store a huge treasure like Jeremias’. An architect could build a hidden vault to store the treasure.
Back the Obragon house, Soledad et al believe the jig is up. They can’t prevent the mob from entering. They all rush off to Soledad’s bedroom to save Hugo. He’s not there. (Nobody looks under the bed though.)
He’s not under the bed, of course. Hugo wakes up in the Treasure R Us room where Alcides has cleverly covered up all the piles of gold bars and caskets of jewels with dust covers. I guess Alcides’ desire to get one up on his brother is stronger than his common sense. He could have blindfolded Hugo or kept him unconscious. Hugo recognizes his brother, “Alcides?” he says. He rubs his eyes so that we can see that his hands are bound, “Alcides, is that you?”
“Of course, it’s me,” responds Alcides, “and I just saved your life, little brother.”
“What place is this?” asks Hugo, “where have you brought me?” The credits roll.

Fuego en la Sangre - 13 May, Tues. - Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold Not Hot From the Bakery
We get quite a review tonight of love and hate scenes. The most poignant being the donkey braying near the end of the review to signify that the really, really important memory must be Juan and Sofia pledging their undying love. Each pleading love to an almost complete stranger. Egad they have lovely teeth and luminous eyes though, don't they? Two of the prettiest people in all of the televised world, who I think of as really good actors, but here they have feeble scripts to work with. No wonder they grin so much.
Padre Tadeo tells the three sisters he has planned a special mass for Sunday to honor their father and other persons. He hopes they will come. They are delighted with both the honor to their beloved father and another chance to get a Sunday get out of jail card. Tadeo expresses caution and worry to Sofia who doesn't understand what he is talking about. He thinks to himself at her back that he must protect the whole family and he wishes good for Sofia even if she has the devil Feonando in her very house.
Gabriela crabs amiable with FeoFerd who is extra feo in the back of the car, about how exasperating the Padre is. Feo hates how Padre encourages Sofia's rebelliousness. What to do, what to do, they discuss whether to change parishes or perhaps CrabiGabi can complain to the Bishop....Feo really smiles at this possibility.
More day dreaming by the dreamteam, Hermanos Reyes. They are all in a pickle with this promised revenge against these luscious lovelies they so want to make nice, nice with.
Sofia dreams and drives while she replays Juan's protestations of love. The sisters interrupt with pleas for her to reconcile with the dreamy brother-in-law FeoBoy. The dreamy way she closes her eyes makes me glad she isn't in Albuquerque, she would not live to get home.
The brothers watch Babybro Franco eat some gruel while they discuss that GabyCraby ran them off for not showing up for work. The cheap hospital bed is better than the fold up cot he started out on but this is a small room to hold these three strapping men for so many days.
The two dimwit sisters, Jemena and Sarita, flirt their way through the conversation with FeoBoy that Sofia has agreed to think about her relationship with him and she was very impressed with his going to confession and helping the poor Babybro Franco. Really, he grins at this promising news with the insincerity shining through his sallow skin.
Sofia cries in the chapel with her father's crypt for the loss of her beloved papa surrounded by pure white flowers. She is crying her feelings out to him of missing him so much and feeling so deserted and alone. I imagine he would counsel her to look out for the little Craby-Feo duet that seems omnipresent these days. FeoBoy joins her and the ominous music lets us know she doesn't like it any better than we do. He feigns missing her father too, he was like a father to him. They pray still kneeling.
Juan shows up for parallel grave weeping in the cave of our young Santa Libia. He says he sees her face everywhere, even in the bakery [hey wait a minute, those buns were channeling Sofia not Libia last time I noticed] He misses her so much. Juan continues Franco says you helped him when he almost died. Was it really you who helped him? Do we have to give up our vengeance pact?? What ever will we do with this hopeless plot without it? It's amazing how fresh and light the cave looks in daytime and Juan manages to avoid grasping the thorny cross so their isn't even blood for a change.
Feoboy has a one note song: "How long does he have to put up with her refusals, her rejections. He is ready to help her forget all her fears of that dreadful attack." They pray some more. The braying (rebuzna) of donkey adds suitable emotional comment.
Padre talks with the Oscar and Franco. They miss their work, they need to earn money and need to leave. But, but he will hire them to fix up the church, silo, dispensary, everything. Oh they beam their Happy Day look.
Abuelo is in bed being ministered to by Eva, and the younger two sisters. Eva announces that Gabi has fired the Abañiles ( the Reyes), those dirty boys. Sarita really wants to go back to the dispensary, she is so concerned about Franco. Jimena remembers she is mad at Oscar and says she has no interest in crossing Craby and further she doesn't even want to go back. She stomps out of the room while Gramps says, Do you believe her ?? [Here in the dark living room, Willa and I both shake our heads, NOoooo] Just to show he is right, Jemena enters her room with the big red heart on the bed and dreams of Oscar and looks longingly out the window at the feeble brick frame of the unfinished cabana. She was hoping her prince charming (principe azul) had arrived but no.
Oscar is parallel dreaming of her with Franco having his own parallel dreams. Men of action? I haven't seen it yet. Lots of dreams though.
Gramps scolds Craby for her unkind treatment of Sofia as FeoBoy serves her dinner officiously and she rebuffs Sofia's kindness. She asks to be left alone just this night and is on the point of doing or saying something much uglier, but Abuelo circles his white napkin calling for a truce but asking her to think about how she treats everyone. Then he has to humble himself to ask for a driver to complete some business in town. Crabi wants to know just what and why as she nearly seizes the advantage, but he demurs that this is his business.
We flash to the Badlove Bar to see as Rosario (Boobala-girl) sings a little love ditty to her missing son to the puzzlement of Armando and his greasy staff in large hats. They look like something isn't quite right, but what?? The men in the bar love the sexy dance that goes with this hot little ode to sonny boy.
Back at the dispensary Juan and Franco have a heart to heart about the dangers of dangerous love with perverse people.
Back at the Badlove, Boobala finishes her sad little song about lost love and lost heavens and the little lost son being a little piece of her. She is dressed in really motherly garb showing us most all of the other pieces of her since we can't see him.
Feoboy walks Sofia to her room, but she lets him know she doesn't plan to sleep with him. She wants to convince her of his undying love. She repeats for what, the 1000 time, that she will never love him. He promises until death, he will not give up pursuing her. [oh you sweet talkin' SOB].
Wow, Juan has a t-shirt on to make hot, furious love, err I mean bread. He dream talks to Sofia about his other promise that makes it hard for him to have time to love her. Oh this revenge promise is weighing heavier than unleavened bread. Oh, but wait, that good, that luscious hot bread comes out of the oven. Oscar comes in to grab a really hot one and burn his sensuous lips. Juan tells Oscar he is thinking so much about love and tears as tiny pictures of Sofia and then Libia appear in the screen. Sofia has parallel love thoughts kneeling down by the wheelbarrow of dirt and thinks of the first time she saw Juan. She profoundly compares the dust in this wheelbarrow with the wind carrying it away as having the same chance as their love which is being whisked away too.
Next morning the three still in the dispensary eat fruit and discuss their dim futures. Arriving with much marching music, it's ABUELO to the rescue. Not only is he dressed in an all white version of Saint Emiliano Zapata, he tells them not to forget their mission and hands out large peso notes. He has more where that came from and shortly Golden Coins twinkle magically on the sick bed where I am trying not to look too closely because Babybro has wrapped the sheet around his body to look like a big diaper with his bandaged hairy legs hanging out.
Crabi and Feoboy talk in front of Sofia like she is a child that they need to discuss this business of when to finish the cabana like God commands [or Feo and Sofia will live in it like God commands, I forget which]. Feoboy very feolike asks Sofia to decide if the Abañiles (Reyes) will be rehired or others or what. Sofia answers after a shocked moment - the cabana will not be constructed and the Abañiles will not return. The evil ones roll their eyes and cook their evil plans in their evil brains.
Next time: actually a scene appears of Sofia in a fetching black dress with a kerchief tied around her waist as she approaches a stone wall that separates her in a the verdant pasture from rock hard (muscular, I mean muscular) Juan standing in the river suspiciously near the place where Libia met her untimely end and Babybro Franco had his moment of salvation from his baby sister.

Guapos 05-13-08 "That's what Cheek Swabs are for"
WE open with a skank fight, Andrea drops the “Secret Wedding” 411 to Luci. Luci, screams, she shakes, she won’t let it happen. Andrea smirks…Oh Snap Andrea deflect the husband boinking fury onto poor lil Mili, the bastarda.
Now over to the Soccer Field of love, yep the Wedding is on for tomorrow, AS IF..
We all know this will never go through unless, they plan to add a laugh-track, move everyone into Mili’s new house and cut this down to a thirty minute weekly segment.
In the Church, that little kid, the one that likes Mili is praying for sporting equipment, he hears someone coming and as a punishment to his worthless father that won’t buy the kid decent sporting goods, Jesus allows said kid to overhear the conversation between the Good Padre and Yolanda, I think that is her name. The lady who is Gloria’s baby abandoning Mother. She tells the good Padre she ran into Gloria’s Dad, the father of said hiding kid. Padre says it is the right of everyone to know the truth. Oh good Call, Padre of the Chuch of St. Deceptions. El kid gets the junior muy impacted face.
Now over at the house, the detective Granny hired, shows up and tells Brau, that the story is this, Mili’s Uncle died trying to cross the Rio Grande. Brau agrees to go along with it as it is all for the best.
Dude didn’t even put up an argument. Consti comes in right behind “Magnum the Detective”, Const tells Brau, “Rest in Peace.” Brau is upset, he didn’t want to die a “WetBack”, oh the shame, the shame.
Praying kid’s father shows up at the church, he tells Padre, I heard you wanted to see me. Yes, to talk about your daughter. “Well hombre, you have the wrong guy, I have a son”. Guess again, Batman, answers the Padre, Yolanda gave me and God the 411. “I was a boy”, the guy says, “You know you can’t get pregnant on your first time” Okay so I threw that part in myself. Anyhow, Padre does a step up to the plate speech. “Say Padre, do you tell all your parishioners to welcome their spawn and call them daughter.?” The Padre answers, “Actually the wealthy one’s get to call their spawn servant”. Now accept it or it is ex-communication for you, and give me three Hail Mary’s and an Our Father for good measure. I threw in the last part, but what good is it being Holy if you can't threaten poor people with eternal damnation? The rich can just buy indulgences.
Meanwhile our little kid overhears all.
Mili and Al are back at the house, I love you, no I love you…yadda yadda, no one can know, except Granny. Yeah that’ll work.
Mili runs off to tell Regina. A knock at the door. Why it is Nestor. Giving Al the once over. Al not really wanting to spend time with another one of Pa’s creepy friends, tries to bow out, but no such luck. Nestor starts one of those embarrassing conversations, like what grade are you in? Do you play sports? Al is like tomorrow will be the happiest day of my life. He doesn’t say why, but Nestor wishing to bond with his Bastard, geez let’s see, who on this show doesn’t have one. Well that would be Gloves & Damien and in both cases, this drags on for months so there is still hope. Now, Consti, has one, Luci, Nestor, Horocio, Sorrictro (kitchen babe), Gawd knows Karla keeps giving it the old college try. Oh yeah, church guy & Yolanda have one too. I hope it isn’t like when people go out and buy a Jack Russell Terrier cause of Eddie on Frasier. Oh I almost forgot Nestor gives Al a big if somewhat unnatural hug.
Poor Granny is exhausted what with all the adoption drama, the buying the house drama and so on. She sleeps right thru Mili nuzzling her and trying to give her the good news.
Mateo or Matt rides his bad boy Vespa up in front of the Rodeo, we then have to watch him thought bubble about Mili, when she walked into her class, with that Naca come hither attitude. He quickly snaps out of it realizing, he needs a rich chick, yeah like the one Ole Lady Regina just adopted.
Now Matt’s Grandfather is having a sit down with Mattie’s friend. He tries to get the friend to talk some sense into Matt. He needs to realize there is more to life than dinero. Friend says, Gramps has controlled the purse strings since Matt’s parents died and Matt wants to live his own life, and in the manner he believes he deserves. Well seems like Ma & Pa dead parents, left lil Matt mucho dinero, but he doesn’t know it so Gramps wanted him to be his own man and didn’t let the kid in on the secret. I hope Gramps is telling the truth, cause I could see Damien spinning one like this. Damien is my hero.
Finally Const comes downstairs and does the big greet to Nestor, Nestor tells him how impressed he is with Al. Consti pauses for a moment, thought bubbling, “Who the Hell is Al?” oh yeah, well to each his own.
Damien comes in and offers to make everybody drinks, Consti snarks that Damien is really good at making drinks just like his sister. Here comes Luci with Flor in tow. Consti introduces her as his future daughter-in-law, Al interrupts and says, they are only friends, that is just something the rents are pushing. Flor backs off and says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Mili is coming down the steps and Flor pulls out the shirt, AssHat left at Flor’s last night. Luci tells Mili to take it up to Al’s room. Mili does the stiff leg angry teen walk and marches off. Al follows as his mother calls after him.
Seriously folks, we have been around this group of dysfunctional people for awhile now, but they always act so spaz in front of whomever happens to be there. Can we all say AWKWARD?
Mili is cramming Al’s shirt in a drawer..he comes in, Mili doesn’t believe it…yadda, yadda, yadda after a bit of bantering, Mili gives in. Oh joy the Wedding is still on.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Andrea has now arrived to join the coven. Val is there and Consti tells Luci that Bobby & Rocky were trying to have their way with young Val. Val laughs it off. Luci skipping the Bobby part chastises Val over a servant. Val gets up and does her teen stiff leg march over to Uncle Damien, who certainly sees nothing wrong with servant boinking.
Meanwhile, Nestor has cornered Al, who is now very uncomfortable with all the attention from this middleage guy. Ya think? I’m getting a creepy vibe and I know he is your father.
Mili nicked a dress from Val and she has it in the dorm room. Gloria asks what is up, but Mili can’t tell, however it is the most awesome, unbelievable secret evah. Gloria is rightly put out. Geez, you got adopted, a house, a bitchin dress…What else?
This continues into the kitchen, where Mili finally gives in and tells Gloria she is to be married tomorrow to Al. This is all fine, well and good, except neither girl sees Luci standing like 3 foot away, do these girls not have peripheral vision? Cause I saw that on Grey’s Anatomy and the guy had a killer brain tumor. Seriously Luci hulking in her butt ugly bright blue and brown dress like three feet away.
Next we see Luci come into the living room on unsteady feet, I’m not sure if it is the shock or if she had a couple of quick shots from a bottle hidden in a potted plant. She drags Flor and Andrea off to Consti study of red leather couch and stairway to nowhere. Luci spouts the 411 that Al plans to marry that nasty servant. Flor is nasty pissed. Now it all about her, oh the humiliation, he picked a servant over her, as if, dumping a drink on him and trying to do the horizontal Mambo while standing up wasn’t humiliation enough. Only to have Al which so far in this TeleNovela will nail anything with a pulse, run out leaving his floral shirt. So now you want to cry humiliation. Andrea aways the schemer tries to calm everyone down. Luci says Flor has to help her. This is something else that amazes me, does Luci just not scream the last person you would want for a mother-in-law? In fact, the whole family is so BSC dysfunctional. Damien comes in and gets the big glare from the women. He makes a couple of coven Bruja jokes, which fall onto deaf, humorless ears. Dinner is served. Flor says no way she is done, Flor leaves she no longer wants dinner. He totally checks out Andrea’s Ass as she walks out of the room. Yeah he’d hit that, if he could.
----I don’t care, shout-out from me Damien, you totally are my hero----
I have decided Damien only does, well how shall I phase this, “unscrupulous things”, to better his lot in life, not out of cruelty or meanness, just out of self help. He could care less who marries who and Val can do Rocky all she wants. Const & Luci are just mean, small people who deserve to stay married forever.
Mili fills in the whole gang, Gloria, Socorrito, Lina about the nuptials. They do the hip bang thing. Uh huh, Uh huh, Mili’s getting married.
Luci starts crap at the table, she insists that Al join her shopping tomorrow, Al says nope, Luci gets that whining insistent tone in her voice. Nestor is overwhelmed by the needling, you can see he is so thought bubbling that he should have stolen Al when he was a small child. Al passes Luci off to Val, who quickly bounces her to Const. Consti says No effin way is he going shopping with Luci. Nestor finally steps up and says he will take Luci shopping. A visible sigh of relief goes around the table. Luci still tries to get Al. Now it is his turn to stiff leg march off from the table.
Al goes to Mili’s room, the wedding is on. Did she tell anyone? No, well, the gang of three jump out (Gloria, Lina & Socorrito and they start cheering).
Meanwhile in a particularly disturbing scene, Brau is feeding his puppet son, yogurt, while gazing at a picture of dead sis (Mili’s Ma), yes the puppet too is a Bastard, but at least Brau stepped up and took the kid before he was carved into a religious statue at St. Deceptions.…knock knock knock…
It is Karla, she yells at him for awhile, how she was left to wait on all those people, then she tells him Luci wants to see him.
Luci tells Brau that he must take Mili and flee, run for your lives, it is very dangerous for her. Const has gone BSC and will harm her. Brau ain’t buying what Luci is selling. No way…Way, Luci counters. He will do nothing cause she is under the protection of the Queen Regina. How is Regina going to help her?
Well Brau says “She adopted her, Mili is her legal heir and daughter”. Shaaaaazaaaaammmmmmmm
This looks like a good time for Luci to wear a Depends cause she is about to lose it…..
The End….
Tomorrow looks like Mili goes all out and wears her Carlitos costume for the Wedding, in case there happens to be a soccer game occurring in simocast. Hopefully that was just a to throw Luci off.
BUT…..wait there is more…we see Luci stalking the happy couple
WOE is Me.
My Consti RatBastard rating is back up to 9.5 cause of the way, he fawns on Val and cause he is going to go BSC when he finds out about the Mili adoption.

Juan-Tuesday, 5-13-'08 We Have a Feeling She's Falling (Marely, that is)
Rehash from last night. Lounge lizards are joyously spreading gossip about Juan and Hillary Paris, making sure everyone knows, whether through e-mails of face to face discussions.
Juan sails in, mangling French right and left, we know he's saying "Bonjour" but it sure doesn't sound like it. Laying incomprehensible "bonjours" all around, he sails past Ivonne with a "con permua" which he evidently thinks is French for "con permiso". What a charmer!
She tells him someone is waiting for him in his office and he assumes it's his little palomita and he's considering letting up on her a little bit...but lo!...it's Sandro. The music sinks and so does Juan.
He thinks they pulled a fast one on him (ya me chamaqueron) and tries to get to the bottom of why Sandro would accept a post as administrative vicepresident for a salary that's less than that of a chauffeur.
And Sandro has all the answers, complete with charts which, naturally, Juan doesn't understand at all. Sandro assures Juan he likes challenges and he intends to increase business to the point where his salary will rise as he shows results. Juan looks mulish and mystified( nothing new here) so Sandro suggests they call in Paula and ask her opinion.
"Paula!" sniffs Juan to himself..."Licenciada Paula to you, you upstart!"
We switch briefly to Juanito's school where all is joy and pandemonium at seeing Lorenzo return.
Then the warehouse where Angarita is asking Yadira about her birthday. It's the 30th of May, she's a Gemini but not typical and there's some blah blah blah but the upshot is that Angarita is now sure that she's his daughter...the dates confirm the presence of the birthmark mole.
We're back with Juan, Sandro and Paula...Juan is treading water furiously, baffled by the charts and Sandro's analysis. He also wonders to himself, "when does this guy sleep?". How did he have time to prepare all of this? What do I say?
And we segue to Alirio who ALWAYS knows what to say and is doing so at length, not giving Pepita a chance to tell him she's changed her mind and no longer wants a divorce. When she finally gets a word in edgewise and tells him she's withdrawing the petition. He's furious.
Alirio roars back that she can't play with his time...she has to pay for those two consultations they had. This isn't some store where you can "return the merchandise" after all!
Back at Farrell, Juan's given up trying to figure out the charts and is praying to Santo Niño for help. He's searching for the word to describe Sandro's plan...it's...it's....RISKY!!! That's it..especially in a country such as ours, he blathers on.
He's saved from further babbling by Ivonne entering with coffee. Paula wants to send her right back out...we're in a meeting!..but Juan insists she stay. More squabbling and Sandro discreetly excuses himself, opining that they probably need to talk over this decision among themselves.
Now, what's going on? Paula glares. Wow, you're missing really great coffee, stalls Juan. Paula accuses him of avoiding the topic at hand but what's new with that?
Sandro has moved on to Marely's desk and things are going very well there. He's brought her the books he promised and they just happen to be books she hasn't been able to find in the bookstores. Score major points for Sandro, plus he invites her out for lunch and she gladly accepts.
Juan's still fulminating about Sandro. How does he understand so much about our business? Isn't that suspicious? Paula points out that they are an international corporation, there are certain common principles, it's not surprising that someone with a background in finance and business would find common ground. He's acquitted himself well on every challenge you've offered, she concludes, and besides, where else could we find someone with his background who would put up with your stupidities?
From there the discussion degenerates into an old-fashioned slanging match with Juan shouting about her and Marely's trying to find out about his girlfriend and her shouting about Juan following her and Sandro in his unmistakeable classic red Mustang.
More blah blah blah and then Juan throws out, Well, if I have to take Sandro, then we have to offer a job to Laura Berrocal too. More screaming and Juan thought bubbles that once again they are fighting like fishwives (verdulero de mercado, literally vergetable sellers)
And of course Alirio and Nidia are fighting like fishwives too. She's not going to let him charge Pepita a penny, much less 5 thousand pesos, and the two women fall all over each other with endearments and compliments, a far cry from their last discussion. Alirio rightly wonders, "Whose side are you on?!"
Sandro is now in Paula's office where she asked him to wait. She's frazzled, even her hair is mussed, and he wonders if her and Juan's discussions are always so....so...personal? I don't want to meddle but really, Juan seems to be like a controlling, jealous husband, he adds.
She agrees that Juan always tries to win discussions by yelling and Sandro gently advises her to get some fresh air and calm down and recover. In the meantime, of course, he's happily heading out to lunch with Marely, who is looking lovelier than ever these days.
Sandro waits for her downstairs while she gets a few letters off and the "new Julia" accosts him and asks whom he's waiting for, adding that the big news on office romances is that Juan is dating Hillary Paris.
Another romance is not going so well. When Angarita phones Nidia she snorts, "Are you asking me to return to work? Well forget it!" No, he wants to know if she remembers the night they spent together before she married Samuel Cachon.
Nidia is outraged. What are you insinuating!? I arrived at the altar a virgen!!!! Angarita assures her he could never forget that night and he doubts she could either, but Nidia contends that with her memory problems, thank God that's one thing she's forgotten.
A hot dream sequence follows. Haven't we all had those elevator fantasies? But I digress...it's the Advil talking.
Anyway, Juan dreams that he and Paula are waiting for the elevator together. They get on, just the two of them. He prays to Santo Niño to press the right button and lo and behold, the elevator stops, he declares his love, Paula responds...DRAT! a commercial breaks the spell...but then we're back, clothes are coming off, "te amos" are being said and DOUBLE DRAT! Ivonne wakes him up, tells him she's going to lunch with Fernando and asks if he needs anything.
Clearly he does...some better air-conditioning for one thing. He's hot and bothered and darn disappointed. As are we. He explains to Ivonne that he was thinking about a business prospect concerning elevators and also warns her not to play with the buttons.
Sandro and Marely are having a deep discussion over lunch. He's talking philosophy, she's looking dazzled. And surprised that he has such a philosophical interest given his background in business. He replies that business can lead to material riches but one can still remain so "poor" inside. She's double dazzled.
He's afraid he's boring her. On the contrary, do you know how long it's been since I've talked about anything really important with someone? she asks.
Okay, I'm on board...clearly Sandro is a better match for Marely than Juan. I'm ready to let go of that dream.
Then Sandro wants to know why a young woman with her education, her beauty (what's that got to do with it?) is stuck in a job like hers. She replies that first of all, Paula is her half-sister and she's her right-hand man. Also she's learning a lot from Paula and when the time is right, another job will present itself.
Besides, she's a little afraid of change. He admits he is also. (Excuse me while I try and get my cat off my notes). Okay...where was I...oh he adds that she could have the world at her feet. Marely continues to be dazzled. Who wouldn't be?
Brief return to one of our plot extensions. Lorenzo is phoning Juan to tell him he's been reinstated and furthermore will be giving Flor extra tutoring so she can catch up with the other kids. Juan says he'll help out by buying books for her and anything else she needs. Lorenzo assures him Juan has a big heart. For sure!
Ah, back to our courting couple...really Marely is looking quite lovely as Sandro offers to look over her application for a scholarship. She's dazzled all right but also puzzled...he looks so much like Cesar Luis but is sooooo different.
Just then the old devil calls and is furious when he figures out that Sandro is with Marely. And she is temporarily suspicious that Sandro is fending off the questions of a girlfriend.
Cesar Luis wants Sandro on Paula's case 24 hours a day but Sandro puts him off...and scores more points with Marely by saying the caller was his old boss trying to get him back but Sandro has found what he's always been looking for at Farrell...and we know, and so does Marely, that's it's not the crappy salary he's talking about.
Another romance, if you wish...Pastor and a multi-hued Herbierto. Words fail me when I try to convey the impact of his outfit. If you missed the show, you missed a rainbow. Orange suit, green shirt, deep orange tie. The wardrobe folks are having fun.
Pastor is trying to coach him for better things by teaching him about "organigramas" (flow charts) but Herbierto thinks it's some kind of musical instrument and says he's hopeless at music...though he could dance, given some insruction!
And another romance...stalled at this point. Willy is accusing Ana of avoiding him. She pleads work pressures and the need to cover bare walls of the gallery with new paintings. He wants to get to know her better...not as a friend but as something more. She avoids answering and he's left looking baffled, once again.
Yadira is also baffled...why does Angarita keep staring at her? "Tengo monos en la cara o que?" (do I look funny or what?) Angarita covers by saying that he's just thinking about her and Enrique and the baby and how to help them...because...well, because he thinks of them like family.
She warns Angarita not to put her and Kike "en lo mismo plato" because she's not ready to make a decision to return to him yet. First she wants to change her image...from a lazy uncultured (add your own adjectives here) to an independent woman who can support herself. Not like her mother who married out of economic
necessity.
Angarita approves her plan and notes that she's "luchona" (a fighter) and has "caracter"...just like himself.
Sandro and Marely have returned from lunch, stars still in their eyes, and she gives him a sweet kiss on the cheek. He stammers (trabar or trabarse) as he has a tendency to do when around her.
Then the phone rings and it's the evil twin again wanting to get Sandro back on his Paula assignment. Sandro tells Cesar to stop pressuring him...besides he's getting important info from Marely. For instance, that Juan is dating Hillary Paris.
Juan and Paula fight like cats and dogs and clearly Juan has interest in this other woman. Cesar scoffs (nobody said he was stupid) but Sandro sticks to his story.
In the meantime, Juan, as a peace offering, has brought tacos to Paula's office. He sucks it up and says she's right, they would do well to hire Sandro.
And then you'll have more time to pursue your millionaress girlfriend, right? she snipes back. I imagine she's very demanding.
Oh no, quips Juan, she's very understanding and tender, never angry...LIKE SOME PEOPLE I KNOW! And some more blah blah about watching home movies, Hillary snuggled up on his shoulder. You know, fuel to the fire.
Pastor, in the meantime, has been called out of the office by Angarita who can't wait to tell him that now he's sure...Yadira is HIS daughter!
Now Sandro and Paula are talking, but she is still visibly upset by her discussion with Juan. She tells Sandro that Juan is someone who can turn an apology into Chinese torture.
And they talk about the Hillary Paris story. Paula believes it's another of Juan's lies, Sandro maintains that a woman who has had everything from birth would find a simple, normal man like Juan attractive. Normal!!!!???snorts Paula, that's the last thing Juan is. (Gotta agree there)
No matter...Sandro has a plan. If Hillary really is Juan's girlfriend, why shouldn't they request that he introduce them? Imagine the flow of money if Farrell could become the purveyers of foodstuffs to the chain of restaurants the Paris family owns!!
Juan, ever suspicious, breaks in on their discussion and then is horrified to find that, since his romance with Hillary is an open secret (secreto a voces) why not introduce them?
And thus we end, with Juan, as usual, in a tight spot of his own making.
Vocabulary:
ya me chamaqueron they pulled a fast one on me
salir airoso de algo acquit oneself well in something
voltearse la tortilla shoe is on the other foot
dame punteria give me a clue, give me a shot
trabarse to get tonguetied (what happens to Sandro when he's with Marely)
a como dé lugar anyway we can
organigrama flow chart
verduleros de mercado vegetable sellers but used as in "fighting like fishwives"
un secreto a voces an open secret
tengo monos en la cara? do I look funny?

Yo Amo a Juan, May 12, Mon. - All About Spars, Stars and Scars
We enter Juan's office where Pastor is telling Juan with scary forthrightness that Sandro not only wants the Vice Presidency but he wants THE COMPLETE PACKAGE. Some other skirmishes then Paula telling Marely that tomorrow Juan will get the surprise of his life when he learns that Sandro has come in and has accepted the job (even with this ridiculously low salary.
Back at the spy and shoot camera scene as Nidia enters the garden and struts her stuff for Lorenzo while Pepita learns that the perpetrator with her husband is no other than the new lawyer's sympathetic wife. What country are we in, she ponders as Lorenzo and Nidia slink up the stairs. (beats me).
Paula tells Sandro the salary doesn't match his capabilities. But Sandro repeats that the important thing to him is to take the position even at this ridiculous salary so that he can work closely with PAULA. She is flattered and confused. He will be back the first thing tomorrow morning to begin work. Sandro stops by Marely's desk and reads over her shoulder something interesting. Is it related to her work? No, she is trying to get a scholarship. Oh and the coincidences never stop, He happens to know one of the committee members who was his professor. And he will loan Marely some of the professor's work so she can know about this person's interests. Que padre, indeed. He then talks about his lower than low (bajisimo) salary but he will have the pleasure of working with the lovely Marely. [Such a galán compared to the snippy imposter, Marely will be getting whiplash if SandroSandro changes places often with Faux-Sandro, me thinks]. Over in Juan's office, Juan and Fer laugh about getting to see Sx2 self-destruct as he walks toward the elevator.
Nidia is explaining to Lorenzo how she will explain to his wife that they are only platonic friends. As they hug, Pepita walks in with an aha and continues to snap pictures of the sinners.
Paula is jumping Pastor about the ridiculous salary he allowed Juan to insist on for Sandro.
Pepita has proof of the adultery and inspite of NIdia's protesting, Pepita gives her a sound slap. Nidia talks fast about the error made here in identity and intent of the friends not adulterers, but Pepita talks faster. Her only error was in marrying Lorenzo. Jeanne did such a good job of translating all these great insults on Friday that I won't repeat them here but look at her vocabulary list if you need to and dare to use these fun words to amaze your friends and family. Is anyone out there a lawyer? We need to have disclosures here on safety of usage. Lorenzo looks like this is an unexpected outcome as Pepita storms out of the room.
Paula continues her tirade against Juan but he sidesteps and blames Pastor for the unfortunate salary. Paula yells and leaves asking Marely to come to her office while Ivonne asks what is going on now. Fernando tells her that the salary that Juan offered Sandro is less than he made when he was a chauffeur. Ivonne says she doesn't think Sandro seems like such a bad guy. At least he doesn't share the worst traits of his brother. Fer acts a bit jealous and Ivonne seems flirty and pleased at his display. She assures him she only has eyes for him.
Paula continues at her screechy level telling Marely that Juan acted badly in bad faith but the surprise of his life is coming tomorrow when he sees Sandro come in to accept the job. Marely grins that she already knows, Sandro told her. Paula then continues on to the other maddening theme of Juan's supposed romance with Hillary Paris [see above link] what a filthy lie (cochina mentira) he is also telling about this romance. She also guesses that Juan is now reaming out Pastor for his advice.
Juan is doing just that and calling Pastor a Judas for not warning him what reaction Paula would have. Pastor tries to reason that he was just being prudent about the well being of the company but Juan whines that he should have been worrying about taking care of him not the company in this case. Juan waxes poetic about his injuries of the matador's dagger. He has been betrayed, he wishes he had never met Pastor as they say in the song [which song?] You betrayed me!!
CL and Sandro discuss the awful offer while Sandro giggles that he was offered a salary too low for a messenger boy but he came out looking like a prince in front of Paula and Marely for accepting the job anyway. Cesar Luis seems to be okay, at least "they" are inside. Sandro tells him that Paula asked him to stop sending flowers. CL calls her a mustia (hypocrite) and a hypocrite (hipócrita). Overall his memories he is turning over of his marriage to Paula, the real CL wants to deliver a lesson to Juan Dominguez. [Obsession is spelled obsesión in Spanish].
Topete comes in still sand or flour covered and whines about his needing to be with Yadi right now. She wants nothing to do with him and tells him to get lost. She has enough boxes of onions surrounding her. Yadi brags about her JOB here and pushes him out, he turns back to argue but Kike to the rescue, pushes him they face off with words and dust flying. Kike makes sure Yadi is okay then faces Topete taking his jacket off ready for a very silly looking fight. Topete and Kike throw a variety of empty boxes and pieces of fruit until Angarita shows up with a very real and long machete. She asks him to disappear from her life forever. He assures him that he won't because he loves her still. She avers that she never loved him [actually she never did say it, did she?...] He's still pinching a peach. Yadi ank Kike pull on him until she falls down. Then Kike gets him out of the market, Anga threatens to call the police if Topete doesn't get out, then he helps Yadira to a chair concerned and comforting he sees a slit in her blouse which reveals the telltale crescent moon scar/birth mark on her side. She sees him staring at it and tells him not to be a fisgón (my guess is inappropriate starer, leerer) He looks puzzled and lost in thought.
Nidia comes into Aliro's office telling him to stop his suit proceedings (tramites). What are you talking about? About Dona Josephina she can't divorce her husband.
Juan and Juanito come to Lorenzo to take him back to school but Lorenzo looks like a beaten dog instead. He tells Juan that this wife has just found a lawyer.
Flip to said Lawyer announcing that sentiment must be set aside while this important case (for him) continues as the wife has asked him. She tries to cut in that he isn't understanding what she is saying. But he goes on, not stoppilng to listen, after all he has to earn his daily bread even though this is a matrimonial mess, disappointment (fracaso). He hugs Nidia telling her she didn't anticipate that working for him would bring her into a world of intrigue, disappointments and deceptions of the world. She demands that he cannot continue with this divorce but he sites moral high ground that he must continue despite what it cost whom.
Back at the food fight, I mean market. They are picking up boxes, smashed fruit and Yadi cleans off Kike's face tenderly. Anga says time is money and they all have to get back to work. Kike says he will change clothes and get back to delivering his order. Then Anga mentions Yadira's lunar mark on her side. She says she has had it since birth, its' so awful but her mother wouldn't have it removed. That is the first thing she would do if she could afford it, she would have it taken off.
Ivonne tells Pastor that she doesn't want him to spread the news to the four winds but the operation she had means she can never have children.
We flash over to Angarita saying it can't be, as he inspects his lunar mark also on his left side at the waist (just like Yadira's). This has to be a coincidence.
Pastor tells her that Fer doesn't love her because of the children that she could give him but he loves her as he Pastor also loves her. He tells her how much Fernando loves her. If this isnt' a grand love, what is? She cries that after the chemo she isn't going to be the same or even like a woman. Pastor tells her she should just tell Fer so if he has an objection he can voice it but if he loves her it won't matter. They continue after the break to speak. Pastor says the best is to tell Fer immediately and face her fears. She doesn't want to risk rejection because she may be an egoist but she really needs this affection from Fer.
Juan and Lorenzo discuss that Nidia came to console him and saw Pepita Josefina. Lorenzo tells how Pepita came on like the Paparazzi taking pictures and discovering their meeting. Juanito comes in to tell him that the principal Tello is in the living room. Lorenzo tells him to get to the point. The principal tells him an error was made, actually he made an error and the upshot is that the teaching job is his again. In fact he should come this morning if he can, the children need him so.
NIdia is at the gate ringing for Pepita. Pepita wants nothing to do with her.
Angarita approaches Pastor and asks him if he has a lunar mark on his back. Pastor plays coy but then asks him if he means the Popov mark (of the Austiran royalty). Mommy told him that it was a mark of authenticity. Are they related to Europeans, asks Anga in great innocence? Yes for sure. Only the women have it and pass it. Anga stand up to show him the mark which looks like a piece of salami cut in crescent moon shape. Is this the royal mark?? Oh yes! Well guess who else has this mark? None other than Yadira Cachon. Pastor draws back in disbelief.
Nidia tells Pepita off that she is a fool to divorce this man. Lorenzo is not going to be lost in a hole, Nidia would pursue him. Lorenzo and I had a wholesome friendship. I loved him but he only loves you Pepita. If you are silly enough to leave him, there are so many women that would line up for him.
Anga and Pastor continue to discuss the size, color, location etc. of the lunar mark. Pastor is sure that Yadira doesn't have the regal Popov luna but a vulgar copy. Anga is sure it is just like his and that it means that she could be his daughter. The daughter of Nidia and him. What does Pastor suggest? Pastor says well start off with seeking proofs like exactly when was Yadira born? Anga looks the happiest we have ever seen him. Break
Paula continues her latest tirade about Juan and his childishness in her most childish whine at her mother. Ana points out as a wise mother that Paula's fury is due to her caring about Juan and he fury at his mystery girlfriend is based on jealousy. Paula can't wait until Juan sees Sandro come in tomorrow.
Nidia rushes up the stair into Juan where they continue to discuss the mess of Lorenzo and Pepita. Nidia explains how she tried to help the couple get back together. Lorenzo is making a call to Pepita as she shows up in the doorway. They hug and make up. She was stupid. He is so grateful she is back.
Juan serves Nidia a diner. They discuss how things aren't black and white and NIdia may have done some good after all. She confesses that she didn't really want Lorenzo. Meanwhile Lorenzo and Pepita hug in bed and she promises never to leave his side. He tells her the most important things in his life have returned: her and his children.
Marely walks into Juan's room with Juanito asleep in the bed. Again, she asks about his mystery girlfriend. He refuses, kisses them both and leaves. Next moment he is toasting with Laura and she has finally gotten smart feeding him four cheese macaroni [way to a boy's heart] Laura also asks about Sandro who looks so suspiciously like CL.
The lounge lizards swarm into the lounge where one announces that Juan is officially seeing Hillary Paris. Juan sweeps in wishing everyone high five BONJOURs . Fer slides up to tell him the rumor spread in only five minutes to all parts of the office. Ivonne greets him and tells him Paula is in his office. Paula is actually with Sandro who rises up to tell Juan he has decided to accept the position. Juan is left with mouth very wide open.

La Traición, Mon, May 12 - Hugo is cured but Soledad is betrayed by a kiss
Arturo tells Alcides that Hugo can’t be released unless he pays back all the investors. Alcides replies that he promised Soledad to get his brother out of prison and that’s what he’s going to do. He pushes Arturo aside and walks away.
Eloisa can’t believe that Paquito is Alcides’ messenger. He teases her with the envelope. She finally grabs it and, of course, it’s blank. He trapped her. She is furious. He takes her by the neck and demands to know everything she does about Alcides.
The prosecutor comes to see Marina. He says that Inspector Duarte told him that Marina is accusing Hugo of murder. Marina says that is so. Hugo accused her of robbery, flew into a rage and pushed her down the stairs, killing her baby. The prosecutor says that is a serious charge, which could result in Hugo going to the gallows. “Let justice be done,” says Marina, “He has to pay for what he did to me and my child.”
Hugo’s eyes are open but he isn’t moving. Soledad asks what is going on. Michelle says that this used to happen to her. He’s in shock. Dr. Dan says that his vital signs are coming back. Hugo must have the good blood stuff. That means he is not only saved but he’s cured as well. Soledad and Michelle are ecstatic.
Paquito demands to know what is going on with Eloisa. They are partners. He pulls Eloisa’s hair until she agrees to speak. She admits that she deceived him. She met Alcides alone. Eloisa tells him that Alcides wants her help to win Soledad’s heart. Paquito is scornful. “Why would you want to play cupid for them?” he asks. “For money, of course,” Eloisa responds. Rebeca is listening outside the door. “So Alcides really does have money, then,” says Paquito. “So it would seem,” says Eloisa. Paquito is all sweetness now. He says that if Alcides is the goose that laid the golden eggs, they should rob some of those eggs. Eloisa asks if he means that they should betray Alcides. Paquito says that no one can earn such a large fortune in a year. Alcides must have stolen the money. He tells Eloisa to gain Alcides’ trust and maybe they can find out where the money is. Eloisa flashes back to having sex with Alcides on the bed of money. She tells Paquito that she doesn’t know where Alcides keeps all his money but there is a lot of money in the cabaña. At this moment, Rebeca bursts in suggesting that maybe Alcides found Jeremias’ treasure.
Alcides and Arturo find that Hugo has escaped. “Someone helped Hugo escape,” says Alcides. Arturo reports that the police say that three masked people helped Hugo escape. Alcides wonders who would want to help his brother. Arturo thinks the answer is obvious – Alcides. He promised Soledad to help Hugo. Alcides tells him not to be an idiot. If he hired men to get Hugo out of prison, he wouldn’t be here now. Arturo suggests that it would be the perfect plan. He would be here pretending to be concerned about his brother while his men got Hugo out. Alcides looks at Arturo with contempt, “You are the same idiot you’ve always been,” he says. Arturo leaves saying that the investors won’t be happy when he tells them that Alcides got Hugo out of jail. Alcides pulls Hercu-less back and tells him to come to his cabaña in he woods that afternoon. Herc asks what for. Alcides says that he has a business proposition for him and not to mention it to Arturo.
Outside the Obragon house with Hugo, Dr. Dan says that it’s too early to celebrate. He has to run some tests to see if Hugo is really cured or it’s only temporary. Soledad is sure that he is cured. Her heart tells her so. Antonia, Ester and Lucas come out of the house. Antonia says that they were very worried and are happy to see Soledad safe and sound. Lucas says that he hasn’t seen anyone around. Ester is not happy at the idea of having Hugo in her house after all he’s done but Soledad says that he is very ill. They have to help him. Dr. Dan carries Hugo inside.
The prosecutor has taken Marina’s statement. She signs it and asks what happens next. The prosecutor says that he will give the case to the judge. He asks if there were witnesses. “Yes,” says Marina, “My husband, Boris Monsalve.” The prosecutor says that will be helpful at the trial. He leaves. Marina says to herself that Boris will never testify on her behalf. She needs to ask advice from Eloisa.
Dr. Dan has Hugo’s blood sample and he’s off to the lab to analyze it. Soledad says once again that she is sure that Hugo is cured. Hugo opens his eyes. Soledad asks if he can hear her. He says, “I love you. I love you.” Michelle says that Hugo will be better but now he has to rest. Soledad tells him to fight for his life. Michelle leaves the room sadly. Hugo is asleep. Soledad asks, “Why did you have to hurt me so much? Why?”
Arturo tells the investors that Hugo has escaped from prison. They want to know who could have done it. Arturo says that he overheard Alcides promising Soledad to help Hugo – he must have done it. Alcides responds that he is a lawyer. He wouldn’t use illegal means (no comment there on Alcides in particular or lawyers in general). He only came to bail his brother out of prison. Boris is in the crowd and he starts to edge away towards the door. Alcides say that he lives in the cabaña in the forest. Anyone is welcome to go there and verify that he doesn’t have Hugo. Arturo then suggests that Boris must know something but by this time Boris has disappeared. The mob goes after him.
Eloisa pooh pooh’s Rebeca’s suggestion. She says that Jeremias’ treasure doesn’t exist; it’s just a legend. Rebeca says that it does exist and maybe Alcides found it. Paquito says it might be true. Everyone knows Alcides didn’t have a dime (literally, he was ‘muerto de hambre’ – dying of hunger) and money doesn’t grow on trees (literally, ‘el oro no cae del cielo’ - gold doesn’t fall from the sky). Paquito says that it is her turn to help them. Eloisa refuses. If Alcides found out, he might cut her head off.
Ester thinks that Soledad is crazy to bring Hugo to her house. If people find out he is there, they might be killed. She says someone already tried to burn down the house. Lucas tells Michelle that she is referring to the flowerbed fire. Lucas says that they should respect Soledad’s decision. Antonia is also anti Hugo staying. Soledad comes out of Hugo’s room. Michelle asks how he is doing. Soledad says that he is sleeping. Michelle says that he is still in a trancelike state and it will take several days for him to recover. Ester repeats that she doesn’t want Hugo in her house. Lucas replies that he is defending Soledad. Period. Ester leaves in a huff. Michelle asks Soledad if she can check on Hugo and Soledad agrees saying that she is going to see her baby.
At the lab, Dr. Dan does his tests and finds that Hugo has the good blood stuff. He is cured of catalepsy. He hears a noise, whips out his gun and there is Dr. Max.
Boris runs into the Hacienda looking for Hugo. Marina doesn’t know where he is. Boris tells her to pack up some stuff quickly. They have to flee. He is being accused of helping Hugo escape from prison but he wasn’t involved. At that moment, the windows shatter as people outside throw rocks. Boris and Marina hit the deck.
Michelle comes into Hugo’s room. She says to herself that he is an interesting man, very handsome but she has come late to the story. What a shame. Suffering from catalepsy, he must have had a life similar to hers. She sits by his bed and touches his band. He closes it over hers. She leans over him to check his breathing, I guess. Michelle moves into kissing position and Hugo says, “I love you Soledad,” and kisses her. She pulls away reluctantly. Hugo continues to call her Soledad. “I’m not Soledad,” she says, crying, “I’m Michelle.” Hugo is smiling in his sleep and Michelle keeps touching her lips as she leaves the room.
Dr. Dan says that he didn’t expect Dr. Max to return so soon. Dr. Max says that he came back because he has important news for someone but it’s a private matter. Dr. Max asks if Dr. Dan said something about a cure for catalepsy? Dr. Dan says that it is private research, a professional secret. Dr. Max asks if Dr. Dan won’t share the secret with him, a professional colleague who lent him his lab. “Sorry,” says Dr. Dan. Dr. Max tells him to get out and never come back. Dr. Dan thanks him for the use of his lab and leaves.
The mob is attacking the Hacienda. Boris wants to try and leave by the back door. (They should go for the secret passage.) Marina says that she isn’t going anywhere. She isn’t Hugo’s accomplice. Hugo is going to be hanged. Boris asks what she is talking about and she says that she has accused Hugo of murdering her child. The mob breaks in. Arturo finds Boris and Marina. Marina says that she doesn’t have anything to do with Boris. Arturo accuses Boris of springing Hugo of prison. He says that they will search the place and find him. Arturo knocks Boris down. The mob starts to loot the Hacienda. Boris is helpless. Good old Marina tells him “I told you so.” Arturo wonders where Hercules is.
Hercules is riding up to Alcides’ cabaña. He stops by a pond and sees a naked woman swimming and starts to take his own clothes off.
Soledad inspects the barbecued flowers with Ursula and the baby. She says that they have to get more of the plants. They have to find Enrico. Up comes Michelle. Soledad asks how Hugo is doing. In a rather agitated manner, Michelle reports that Hugo is fine, still sleeping, pulse and respiration normal. (I guess it’s hard to act normal after being kissed by Hugo.) Soledad asks if she is all right. Ursula takes the baby inside. Michelle says that when she thought Hugo was dying, Soledad said that she loved him. Soledad replies that she said what she did because she was afraid he would die. Soledad says that Hugo is the only man she has loved in her whole life. Sometimes she thinks that she loved him more than she loves herself but he destroyed all her feelings for him. Michelle asks if there is a possibility that Soledad could forgive him. “With so much love between you, wouldn’t it be worth it to start over?” she says. “Between Hugo and me, absolutely nothing can exist,” responds Soledad, “absolutely nothing.” Michelle flashes back to Hugo’s kiss and thinks that if Soledad doesn’t want him, maybe she has a chance. Soledad asks Michelle about her love life. She says that she has never fallen in love because of her disease but now she would like to find someone she can truly love.
Marina has told Arturo about her declaration against Hugo. Arturo sends Boris away and demands that Marina tell him where Hugo is. Marina says that she doesn’t know but Hugo was going to be examined in Dr. Max’s lab.
The naked woman is Margot. She asks Hercu-less what he is doing there and he say he has an appointment but it can wait. They have pond sex and afterwards Hercu-less says it was special. He says that they will meet every day at this place.
Soledad and Michelle have a girl chat. Michelle asks what Soledad hated most about Hugo’s betrayal. Soledad says it was living with fear. All this time he made her suffer and he didn’t care. Michelle is surprised that Soledad was afraid of her husband. Soledad says that she didn’t know Alcides. He was a very violent person. “You never realized it was Hugo all that time?” says Michelle. Soledad replies that sometimes she suspected it. Soledad goes on, “Hugo enjoyed watching me suffer. For example, he saw me mourn his supposed death, when I nearly died of grief, the discovery of my daughter’s illness and he wasn’t capable of opening his mouth to tell me the truth.” Michelle advises her to leave the past behind. “On the contrary,” says Soledad, “I think remembering the past is good for me.” Michelle asks if Soledad thinks that Hugo is a bad person. Soledad says that she doesn’t know what to say. She has loved Hugo since she was a child. When they started their relationship, she loved him more than herself but he destroyed it all. It is like breaking a fine piece of porcelain. You can glue all the pieces together but it isn’t the same. Her heart is that broken piece of porcelain. Up gallops Dr. Dan with the good news that Hugo is cured.
Arturo comes to Dr. Max's looking for Hugo. Dr. Max says that just got back into town. Arturo should be looking for Dr. Dan. He hasn’t seen Hugo since the day of the fiesta. Arturo is about to leave when Dr. Max says that Arturo’s sister, Beatriz, is missing because she is dead and Dr. Max knows who killed her. Arturo is impactado.
At the cabaña, Alcides says that Vlad not only told him where to find the treasure, he taught him to meditate. Flashback to Vlad and Alcides meditating. Alcides has a piece of paper (instructions for meditating?). He assumes a meditation pose and it turns out he’s not looking for inner peace, he’s psychically looking for Hugo. He meditates up a flashback to Soledad’s too casual response to his statement that he was at the police station to free Hugo and concludes it was a trap. Hugo is at Soledad’s house. He’s off.
Dr. Max tells Arturo that he saw his sister’s body in the hospital morgue in Alcala. She had been burned alive. A nurse told him what had happened. And the culprit is: Alcides! Arturo is impactado again!! (Unless Beatriz lived after the fire, there is no way that anyone at the hospital could have figured out that Alcides was responsible for Beatriz’ death. Sloppy writing or is Dr. Max playing a double game?)
Eloisa has snuck into Alcides’ cabaña to look for money but Paquito is right behind her. He says that he and she will discover where Alcides got his money. Paquito is ransacking the place and Eloisa is begging him to put everything back where he found it. Eloisa is terrified that Alcides will find out they were there. Eloisa finds the piece of paper that Alcides was using to meditate. It wasn’t meditation instructions, it’s Vlad’s wanted poster. Paquito rummages through his brain and recalls that Vlad was an architect. He wrote some articles about him.
Soledad tearfully tells Hugo that he is cured of catalepsy. He just looks at her with dog eyes and doesn’t say anything.
Two men hurtle towards each other on horseback in the woods. It’s Alcides and Arturo. They meet. Alcides asks if Arturo found out where Hugo is. Arturo says no but he found out that Alcides killed his sister. They fight. Arturo gets a few blows in like he was fighting with the old Alcides. Then Alcides takes off his coat and dispatches Arturo in a few seconds. Alcides has found another handy cabana with manacles. Arturo wakes up to find himself chained up. Alcides asks him who told him that he had killed Beatriz. Arturo says that doesn’t matter. Is it true? Alcides flashes back to Beatriz stabbing him and him cutting her throat. He tells Arturo that Beatriz held him against his will, tortured him for weeks at a time, injected him with drugs that almost paralyzed his legs. “Liar!” shouts Arturo.
Alcides tells Arturo that Beatriz was a killer. She killed several people. He shows Arturo his scar and says that Beatriz stabbed him without mercy and almost killed him. Arturo isn’t buying. He says that everyone in San Marino knows that he is a killer that he let his brother be buried alive. “And you’re a saint,” replies Alcides, “Saint Arthur.” Arturo says that when he gets out of this, everyone will know what Alcides did to his sister. Alcides is as miserable as his brother Hugo. Alcides says that he came back to get back the woman he loves and he isn’t going to let Arturo mess that up. He offers Arturo all the money he wants for his silence. In a somewhat surprising display of affection for the sister that he told his mother was a ‘loca,’ Arturo spits at Alcides and rejects his offer. Alcides says that if Arturo won’t accept his offer, he will have to do this. “Do what?” asks Arturo. “You’re sitting on gunpowder,” says Alcides. Arturo stands up. The cabaña is filled with barrels of gunpowder. Alcides tells Arturo that he wishes he didn’t have to do this. Arturo can still accept his offer of silence in exchange for money. Arturo refuses (suddenly he a martyr? Why doesn’t he just lie? He could get money and betray Alcides.) Alcides lights a fuse and leaves. Arturo calls him a damned murderer and desperately tries to blow out the fuse.
Michelle tells Dr. Dan about Hugo’s kiss. Dr. Dan is outraged. “The man is shameless. How dare he kiss you in Soledad’s house.” Michelle explains how the kiss happened. Dr. Dan concludes from Michelle’s dreamy expression that she liked the kiss. Michelle says that it shook her up. She says that it was a strange moment. She felt horrible. Hugo’s heart belongs to Soledad. Dr. Dan asks if Michelle thinks Soledad still loves him. “Of course,” replies Michelle, “didn’t you see how she was when she thought Hugo had died? But Hugo told me a while ago that he wasn’t strong enough to get her love back because of the bad things that had happened between them.” Dr. Dan smiles and says, “Then, there is a tiny possibility.” “For what?” asks Michelle, “I don’t want to cause any harm.”
“We both have the same problem, Michelle,” says Dr. Dan.
“What?” says Michelle.
“I’m falling in love with Soledad,” replies Dr. Dan.
Back with Hugo, Soledad says that she isn’t sure that he understood her. He is cured. Hugo says that he needs her to repeat that. “What,” says Soledad, “that you are cured?”
“No,” says Hugo, “the kiss you gave me before you left the room before. Give me another kiss. Let me taste your lips once more. Give me another kiss.” Soledad is impactada (couldn’t she just conclude that he was dreaming?). The credits roll.
