Las tontas no van #110, Mon 5/11, Who Pays the Price?

As Patricio bounces up, Ali asks Santiago, “Wouldn’t you like to have a baby?” Santi’s mouth turns to sawdust. Pat covers while Santi recovers. He says, "Lord willing, I'll find him." He seems less confident as time passes. Always eager to hold Patito, Pat asks Santiago, "Lo puedo cargar?" Cargar can mean to carry, but also to be responsible for. Santi suggests that when he finds his son, maybe the boys can be friends.

What is Alicia’s game here? To gloat? To rub his nose in it and make him miserable? To enjoy the triumph of her trick? To feel the thrill of risking discovery? Or maybe she wants to be discovered because she’s tired of playing mommy and she’s not getting anywhere with Pat.

Moving out of the frying pan and into the fire, Pat notes that Santi and Candy are now novios. Ali couldn’t be happier, but Pat says he’s worried because Chava is so sad about it. Everyone stands there uncomfortably, and Santiago awkwardly observes that he hasn't found his son yet.

Gabino warns Art to play their game or else. Art spouts several platitudes to assert that he’s old but wise, implying that Gabino should pay him more respect. He says Rocky had promised him he’d be able to retire from “the family,” but Rocky also helped him arrange Plan B to fall back on. He pulls out the key to his safe deposit box.

Cuau sends Lulu flowers with a flattering card. He shows up and she gives him the grand tour of the office. He gives her some more flattery and a kiss.

Raúl comes to the institute to pick up Soledad, who now wears pastels instead of harsh colors. When Ceci joins them, Raúl eyes her suspiciously. Ceci says Beto wants to see a movie, so they should all go together. So much for a romantic date!

Jaime goes to the restaurant to see Sven. He feels like Isabel is keeping something from him, and he’s looking for someone to talk to.

Amanda of the botched surgery goes to Candy’s office. Candy says she will believe in her novio until she sees proof to the contrary. I guess when Candy told Santiago, “I love you with all my heart,” that didn’t extend to her trust or confidence in him. Amanda promises to get proof.

Still at the park, Alicia cautiously quizzes Santiago about his efforts to find his son, but he can’t take his eyes off the adorable baby in the stroller. Ali says she honestly hopes Santi finds his son, and she doesn't follow it with an evil sneer. Hmm.

Luc stops by the malt shop to see her friends and Charly. She’s upset because of the picture Paulina e-mailed her. Across the room, she sees Danielle kissing some other guy. Luc tells her off for hurting Charly, but Danielle tells her to get a clue! Luc is the one he wants, according to Danielle. Besides, Danielle has decided to enjoy life instead of lying around depressed, like Charly. This all definitely gets Lucía’s attention. Fred tries to talk to her but Luc blows him off (that’s a step in the right direction). She tries to call Charly, but he just growls at her.

Santiago sits down with his therapist, Donato. His face glows when to talks about Baby Patito. He’s happy for Pat and Ali because a baby is a gift from God. But, voice cracking, he says he worries about his son. Is he well fed? Is he warm at night? Does someone hold him when he’s scared? Santiago knows he bears part of the blame. But he echoes the unanswered cry of everyone who has worked with troubled children, and our voice cracks too. Why should the child pay the price for the sins of the parents? Donato gives the best answer he can, “Don’t lose hope. La vida le va a dar las repuestas. Life will give you answers.”

In telenovelas, baby abductions always have a happy ending. Too bad real life doesn’t usually follow the same script. Occasionally it does. On Friday’s blog we were talking about a happy ending in Philadelphia, and Kris found the news story. It was even made into a movie called Little Girl Lost. Thanks, Kris!

Soledad sets Ceci straight. She asked Ceci to baby-sit Beto, not barge in on her date. Ceci claims she was only trying to help, but Sol says she keeps interfering with her relationship with Raúl. Is Ceci jealous? Ceci goes to her room in a huff and refuses to talk any further.

In his study, Santiago talks to Rocío about her hermanito. They light a candle to call the angels to help find him. Meanwhile in the kitchen, Luc is stressing about Charly not wanting to talk to her.

Pat worries for Chava, who wants his parents back together. Margarita pointedly counsels her son, “Los hijos simpre siguen pagando los platos rotos de las papas” (the children never stop paying the price for their parents’ sins). Margarita knows Pat’s concern is more than just for Chava, and she reminds him to accept that Candy loves somebody else. We can’t have everything we want. Bitter medicine.

Candy calls Santi as he’s getting ready for bed. She says, “I spent the whole day thinking about how much confidence I have in you.” Mucho o poco? No lo sé. She asks, by the way, has he done anything professionally improper? He assures her, nothing whatsoever. She hangs up and concludes that Amanda is a complete liar.

Alicia hides in the bathroom to call Marissa, who has been out shopping. Ali reports that Santi saw the baby, and Mar wants all the juicy details about his reaction. Ali is worried that somehow he’ll find out the truth. All Mar cares about is Santi’s prolonged suffering. She wants him to never stop paying the price.

Luc finds Charly in the park and tries to talk to him, but he tells her to get lost and go back to her boyfriend. He says she lives in her grand palace and she’s never had to fight for anything (except maybe surviving the sudden death of both her parents). He on the other hand is fighting for his life and nothing else matters. Luc refuses to join his pity party

Raúl and Soledad have the big talk. Has he accepted his wife’s death, or is he with Soledad just because he’s lonesome? He confesses that it has been hard, but he thinks he is ready to love again, and Soledad makes him feel again. Soledad implores him, “Don’t fail me. I’ve had too many other failures.” He promises he won’t. She asks him about his “museum,” and you can tell it’s a sensitive subject. But he’s trying to put those things in the past, including the museum. Raúl suggests that Ceci is jealous of him. He also suggests that it’s time to talk to Beto about their relationship.

While Gabino inspects Art’s safe deposit box, his subordinate (I’ll call him Viney) secretly snaps pictures of Pat picking up all three kids at school. Pat notices. Viney follows him to Santiago’s house where Pat drops off Roc and Chava. Suddenly Pat yanks Viney out of the car and demands to know why Gabino is having him followed. Viney says he’s not following Pat, he’s following Santiago’s kid. Pat wants to know what Santi has to do with Gabino, and warns Viney not to mess with him. You gotta’ admit, Pat’s got guts. Maybe no brains, but guts, he’s got.

Like any good boss, Gabino has a “counseling session” with Viney, to impress on him the importance of not getting discovered while he’s spying on people. Viney explains his quick thinking. He told Pat that he was following Santi's kid, so Pat wouldn't know that Viney was actually following Pat and his kids. Gabino says he just doesn’t want Pat snooping around in his business. Meanwhile Pat tries to figure out how best to protect his son, since he thinks Santi is somehow mixed up with Gabino. He knows that if he tells Candy, she’ll think it’s just his jealousy against Santi.

Charly says Luc ditched him because he’s infected and she’s afraid of him. She says that’s nonsense. She ditched him because he cheated on her. (Nice try Luc, but didn’t you split with him before you knew about Danielle?) Getting serious, Charly says he was drunk and he was stupid, but why can’t she forgive him? How long must he keep paying for his offense? He loves her and she doesn’t care. If she’s not afraid of his infection, she’ll kiss him. Lucía overcomes her anxiety and does just that. A good, sweet, meaningful kiss.

Candy talks to Barb and worries some more about the demands of trying to be a super-mama plus work full time. Barb reminds her that she doesn’t need to work, but Candy wants to have it all.

Pau is in charge of Roc and Chava at her house, but she tells them, “You can’t go to a movie, you can’t watch TV, you can’t play on computer.” I would add, DON’T EAT THE GINGERBREAD!!! She suggests that they make a puppet show instead. And guess who will write the script?

In the next scene, Donato is setting up the puppet theater Pau just bought. Santiago asks whose idea that was. “Why, the children’s idea,” Pau quickly interjects. He asks what the story will be, and she claims she has no idea. “Those children are so creative.”

Gabino meets with Art and we finally find out about that safety deposit box. Art has a letter from Rocky to Gabino, saying that Art has solid evidence about the money laundering. Gab threatens that in his business, there is only one place for traitors. Art says he’s not betraying anybody; he’s protecting himself. Gab says he’s not ready to let Art retire, and shows him the photos of Art’s wife, son, and grandsons. "If you talk, they fall." Art knows he has lost. When Art chose his course in life, he never considered that this would be the price.

Raúl wants to tell Beto that they are novios, but Sol wants to wait. He agrees to wait. They seal the deal with an extended kiss, during which Beto walks in and see them. I guess that wait was shorter than expected. Beto runs to his room, upset. Later Sol tries to explain to him that Raúl won’t take the place of his father, but she wants to be happy too. Beto mostly whines. Back in the living room, Raúl tells Sol that it’s understandable that Beto is upset right now. It will take time. Raúl looks forward to getting to know Beto better because he likes children, and he never had any because his wife died while she was still pregnant.

Sven reports to Isabel that Jaime is worried for her. She says she’ll talk to him. Changing the subject, she notes that Sven and Jaime seem to have a special relationship. Sven admits that he’s like the father he never had. He explains that he was raised by the man his mother married, but his actual father was married to somebody else. He loves his stepfather and he owes him a lot. But still sometimes he thinks about his original father, who he hasn’t seen since he was five. “He used to call me Frijolito.” Isabel hides her impactada as best she can.

In the puppet show, the puppets say that they are sad because their parents don’t want to live together, and they want to marry someone else. The Chava-puppet says that his mama doesn’t love him. We all know who the actual puppeteer is. The audience looks uncomfortable. Pat buys into the message, hook, line, and sinker. Santi sees Pau’s fingerprints all over it, and grits his teeth once again, at what he has to put up with for Rocío’s sake. And Candy? Pau hit a bull’s-eye! Candy goes off to cry, Santi tries to talk reason with her (silly Santiago!), and Pat tells her that he thinks it’s time for Chava to live with him.

Doña Bárbara - Fri., May 8- Santos disappoints his mother and DB tells him that now they are the same

We open with the standoff in the dark. Guns fire and León falls down, dead. Tigre calls Santos a murderer.

The mysterious person at La Chusmita was DB. She tells Eustaquia that she is sure that Sapo is close by.

Santos tells Tigre that he was just defending himself. Tigre points out that Santos was using him as a shield and calls Santos a murderer again. Santos replies that León killed Carmelito - he is the murderer. Tigre calls him a coward and a murderer and Santos tells him to shut up.

Federica takes care of Mujica and says that he is her hero.

Marsiela tells Altagracia that she isn't sure she should go to Altamira. She needs to think. María Nieves tells her the obvious, "You love him and he loves you. What else do you need to think about?"

Here we see that León has been shot in the side of the head. This becomes significant later.

Cecilia tells Antonio how she got Don Encarnación to forgive her. Antonio tells her how much he loves her and how their suffering has made him appreciate her more.

DB tells Melquíades that she should have gone to Progresso with Santos but when she heard what Juan Primito had told Pernalete, she knew that she had to guard Eustaquia. Melquíades tells her that he heard some shots by the crossroads.

Melquíades finds the scene of the shooting and can tell by his nose that many horses went to Progresso. He deduces that Santos must have won since Los Mondragón would have headed for the forest.

Pernalete is comforting Josefa after Sapo forced her to have sex with him when they all hear Santos yelling outside. Reluctantly, Sapo lets Pernalete and Mujica go deal with the situation but he says that they only have an hour. After that, Sapo says that he will start killing the women and children.

Marisela finally admits to herself that she should be with Santos since they love each other. Then she sees Santos drive through town [what did Melquíades smell then, horsepower?] with Tigre and León's body.

DB tells Eustaquia that she can't sleep. She has a strange feeling that she getting to the end of something [the novela!] and there is fear and joy. She says that she will be free to live and smile again. Eustaquia says that she will be free, too (meaning presumably that she will be free of her body, i.e., dead). DB doesn't want to hear that and asks Eustaquia what she means and Eustaquia lies and says that she didn't mean anything.

Melquíades goes to Progresso to find out what is going on. When Costa tells him that Santos shot León, Melquíades is surprised. He didn't think Santos was a good shot.

Meanwhile Santos is giving his statement to Pernalete and Mujica. Santos says that he killed León. "In self defense ('en defensa própria,')" says Mujica briskly. Santos repeats that he killed a man. Marisela comes into the room. She takes up the self defense mantra but Santos keeps repeating that he is a killer, a murderer. Santos' statement is taken in record time and Pernalete and Mujica hustle everybody out and get home just in time to keep Sapo from killing the women.

Santos and Marisela return to Altamira. Santos tells Marisela that by killing León to save his life, he is just like his father who killed his own son in a rage. He tells Marisela that he wants to be alone.

Santos paces the halls of Altamira and has flashbacks to when his brother was killed and his father killed himself.

It's the next morning and MN doesn't like oatmeal Altagracia is feeding him. [He can't feed himself?] Dr. Arias say that it is a sign that he is getting better. The doctor tells MN and Altagracia about León. MN doesn't believe that his boss killed someone.

Santos is still brooding about being a killer and telling himself that he has failed the promise he gave his mother when DB comes to see him. She says that it is kill or be killed. She asks what is bothering him - killing a thief and murderer or finding out that he isn't as good and holy as he promised his mother he would be.

Pajarote is in church praying. He tells Father Pernia that he wants to confess.

DB tells Santos that he has done what he always criticized in her. "We are the same," she says, "beast that cannot be caged up or threatened because they kill to defend themselves." Santos says that he doesn't want to be like her.

Marisela tells Santos that he couldn't have killed León because he was shot in the temple and Santos was facing León.

DB tells Leóncia and Celeste that León is dead. Leóncia curses DB.

The news about León gets around. Here's a pic of the hunky Captain Delgado. Antonio gets the report that the bodies in the burnt up plane weren't Sapo and Facundo.

Pernalete and Mujica have just convinced Sapo to let them go the jefetura when DB comes knocking at the door. Santos and Marisela come to the jefeturaa to see Pernalete and Acosta is sent to his house to fetch him. Santos and Marisela discuss how strange it is that León could have gotten shot in the temple when he was facing Santos. Pajarote comes in and confesses that it was he who shot León.

MEPS 05/08/09: Opportunity Knocks for Eduardo

Capítulo 59

First, a bit of repetitious review.

At Las Animas Eduardo tells Estev, aka, Dewey Duckworth, that he’s fighting a battle against time. He’s got 24 hours to save himself or go belly up.

Meanwhile, Damian the Damned is on the phone with Bitch-Barbie. She is taking perverse pleasure in snidely telling Damn how she screwed him out of the $3 mil, that the transaction was done under his name, and that the Elizalde’s will be pursuing him the rest of his life looking to take it out of his miserable hide.
=======================

A bit later, Dewey and Ed are finishing din-din when there’s an unexpected knock on the door. Ed goes to answer it and finds Fernanda standing there, the perfect damsel in distress.

Back at Grupos Lactos, Bitch-Barbie explains to Damn that she put the $3 mil in an account with his name on it and Gonzo and the others all think he stole it. “So, don’t even think of showing your face around the hacienda or the business again because you’ll end up spending the rest of your life rotting in jail!” Damn is in denial. He stutters that that wasn’t what the two of them had agreed to. BOW sneers. “Just because people agree on something doesn’t mean they have to go through with it. Otherwise you wouldn’t have let yourself be used for the embezzlement scheme, would you have? Find a hole and burrow deep. That’s the best advice for a rat like you!” Click! The Barbot cracks a small smug smile. One down, 4 to go…..

Fr/Ed introduces Estev to Fer. She apologizes for barging in on Fr/Ed like this and asks to speak with him. The two of them go into the study and Estev tells himself he understands why his best bud is head over heels for Nanda. “Whew! She is gorgeous!”

At the same time, Babs walks back into Gonzo’s office and tells him, AB, and Cad that Franco Santoro called to say they authorized the first payout, the $3 million, and that they should have it in their account within 24 hours. The Gullibles are relieved that the sum will cover the gap left by Damian’s theft. Babs tells them that now the partnership is a done deal they can go ahead and report Damian Gallardo to the authorities.

Damn hangs up. “No puedo creerlo!” He starts screaming that he can’t believe what the damned despicable witch did to him; and that she definitely deserves the nickname “La Hiena” cuz that’s exactly what she is. For emphasis, in a fit of temper, he knocks at least a dozen crystal bar glasses of Vlad’s onto the floor and a floor lamp is knocked over. Shards fly everywhere. (Much better than just slamming a cell phone to bits.) Vlad walks into the living room and placidly stares at him. (Excuse me? No cursing? No questions? No “WTF, Damian?”)

Back at Las Animas, Fer races through a harried apology but Fr/Ed tells her not to bother, that there is no reason to apologize. She will always be welcome there. He takes her hand to help her to the couch and asks why she’s trembling. All she can do is instinctively embrace him. He reels from the feel of her body against his. It takes all his strength to control his desire. (Yowza!) She realizes it’s a bit too intimate, considering she’s a married woman, and quickly pulls away from him, totally mortified. He offers a much needed shot of tequila and she accepts.

Back at Vlad’s: Vlad is a bit worried about Damn. (Not a fricking word about the expensive breakage or the mess on the floor? Darn! This guy is gonna make some gal a wonderful Stepford-style house-hubby some day! He cooks, he cleans, and he takes crap off everybody but never complains! Muy peligroso or muy estupido. Maybe just wimpy.) Vlad quietly starts picking up the mess and listens to Damian’s line of bull. Damian screams that Barbara Greco hasn’t got the money she owes him and is making him wait for it. Vlad asks what all this money is for. Damn sidesteps and tells him he’s going to repay Vladimir’s friendship.

Again at Las Animas, Fer slugs down the tequila. Fr/Ed asks what the problem is. He says he thought she’d be on her honeymoon by now. Nanda confesses to Fr/Eddie that her honeymoon is permanently cancelled and, in between sobs, says that the future of her family is now in his hands. (Heavy…..)

At Grupo Lactos, Gonzo calls the police. He leaves word for a Comandante Lozaya to come speak with him personally about an urgent matter. AB screams that he wants Damian to get his just deserts and Cad agrees. Gonzo gets angry at Anyballs and complains that his sons prefer vengeance over regard for their sister, Fernanda’s, feelings. They’re turning the situation into a family duel, he complains. Barbie thinks to herself, “This is nothing compared to the Hell that’s waiting for you, Gonzalo!”

Meanwhile, Fr/Ed feels a bit awkward with what he’s heard and tells Fer that she’s overestimating him. She tells him that it’s obviously only a bit of business for him, but it’s a matter of survival for her and her family now. Nanda says it’s embarrassing for her to have to ask, but she wants to know how long before they will have the payout available and in their account? He tries to get her to explain, but just then he has to take a call on his cell. It's Martina wanting Ed to speak with the matamentes, Dr. Dement-oh! He asks Eddie to come talk with him personally. He says he is definitely breaking off his ties to Barbie (like he had any choice) and says his fate depends on Ed. Ed says not now. Martina gets back on the line and he tells her that he’ll come later, not to worry. She goes back into Lili’s room and tells the sleeping Lili not to worry now, that that dog, Obregon, finally understands who his master is.

Back at the Mud Wrassler’s Cantina, Jairo is sharing a beer with Lucio. He’s happy as a pig in ...mud cuz he thinks that they will be making a nice wad of cash by keeping tabs on Las Animas and helping Rene nab Franco. He’ll love seeing the guy thrown into jail for dealing in illegal narcotics. Suddenly Venus appears at his table and asks for her old job back. She tells him that nobody else will give her a job because of her problems with him. She swears that she isn’t covering up for Martina, either. He says since she caught him in a good mood he will take her back. Kiss, kiss. Hug, hug. FF>>

Fr/Ed finally tells Nanda to stop beating around the bush and come out with what’s bugging her. She says she understands that they scarcely know each other but she has nobody else to turn to. It’s that her husband disappeared. Fr/Eduardo is speechlessly impactado.

Vlad is folding napkins for the evening meal as he and Damn talk. (Is this guy for real? I’ll take two!) Damn tells Vlad that he will make him and Prissy millionaires if they will only help him out. (Uh, isn’t Pris already a million-heiress? Maybe that’s where having the kid fits in.) He plans to sue Barbara Greco for his money, he says, and then he’ll be loaded. He’ll be able to give them a chunk—provided they lend him a hand. Vlad only has to do a few simple things for him: some phone calls, getting him a few documents, and above all, getting Pris to fall in love with him. Vlad wonders how he’s going to sue Barbie if he’s got to hide out in his apartment.

Damn makes up a story that the Barbot threatened him with sending somebody to kill him if he ever tried to sue her. That’s the reason he got a little excitable (a LITTLE?) and he knows that she’ll do it, too. For that reason nobody can know that he’s staying there with him. This gets Vlad’s attention. “The woman is that dangerous?” “—You can’t imagine; that’s why they call her La Hiena!”

Cad tells the comandante that his inexcusably offensive BIL has run off with $3 milion dollars. AB comments that he discovered the embezzlement and that Babs found out it was Damn who did the deed. The comandante says he’ll put out an APB out on him so the proper authorities can keep him from leaving the country. Any Balls wants to give the guy a photo of Damn for the press but Gonzo draws the line at that, thinking about the scandal it would cause for Fer. AB asks him how else he thinks they’re supposed to find him.

Babs sides with Gonzo. “You’ve heard my husband. We don’t want to air this problem publicly.” Lozaya says fine. Gonzo gets ready to fill out the paperwork but Babs stops him and says it would make things worse for Nanda if she knew that her daddy had been the one to report her husband to the authorities. Gonzo should let her be the one to handle it all instead. Gonzo is a bit relieved. “Well, I hadn’t thought of that, so thank you!” Babs smiles sweetly back at him. (What a dear.)

Nanda continues to explain to Fr/Ed what happened earlier in the day. “It wasn’t till this afternoon that we realized that Damian had run off to who knows where. Obviously we think he’s left the country.” “—Is this confirmed?” “—Well, yes, probably because…(choke, sob, sniff)… $3 million dollars was stolen!” Fr/Ed is dumbfounded. Fernanda slugs down the last of the tequila and asks for another. Fr/Ed obliges. “That’s why I’m begging you to firm up this deal as soon as possible. PLEASE! Otherwise, Grupo Lactos inevitably will be ruined financially.” Fr/Eddie is majorly impactado. Fernanda tells him that her brothers blame her for her husband’s defrauding the company. “But then, I suppose, it is my husband who committed the fraud, isn’t it?” She grabs his hand (OMG!) and tells him that only he can help them now. “You have my life in your hands,” she tells him. Ruh-Roh!

Eddie is suffering from a major league conscience-overload at this point. “First, I want you to know I am deeply sorry for what you’re going through. I can’t imagine what you’re feeling. Feeling that we are left alone without those we love is seemingly the worst kind of Hell, especially when it’s the result of a lie.” (Major conscience-overload—and, just in case you weren’t paying attention, the writers have just hit us over the head with the story’s major premise.) Fr/Ed says he is curious about something, but adds she isn’t under any obligation to answer him. Fer says she’s in no condition to answer him, but go ahead. “Do you love your husband?” he asks.

Viewerville must hold its breath for her answer because we are shunted back to Vlad’s apartment where Damn is asking for Vlad’s answer to something. Vlad says what Damn’s just suggested sounds like blackmail and he’s not going to hurt the woman he loves. “Look, Vlad. Do you believe that demonstrating to Priscilla that she is married to a cretin who has been stealing from her for years is harming her? “

As Vlad takes time to process we beam back to Grupo Lactos where Babs finishes filling out the complaint against Dam. The comandante promises to advise them all as soon as Damian is located and he leaves. Gonzo is distraught because he is worried what Fernanda is going to think. Babs rubs his shoulders and commiserates, then pretends that Comandante Lozaya has carried off a favorite pen that Gonzo gave her as a gift. She runs out of the office to catch up to Lozaya in the elevator. Cad, who knows one when he sees one, tells his papi not to worry, that the opportunistic hustler is going to learn that nobody makes fools of the Elizalde’s.

In the study at Las Animas Fer admits to Fr/Eduardo that she’s not sure whether what she feels for Damian at this point is love or hate. Fr/Ed says, “This is now, but what about before he ran off?” “—If I hadn’t loved him I would not have married him.” “—It’s not always that way. The majority of people get married for reasons other than love. Surely though, that isn’t the case for you.” She wonders what he’s getting at. He says that she might be looking for a way to make amends for the harm Damn did to her family, or perhaps she might be looking to protect her husband and says that does make a difference.

Fer insists angrily that of course she’s trying to find a way to repair the damage Damian has done to her family. That’s not good enough for Eduardo, though, and he forces the issue. “You still haven’t answered me! Do you love him or not?” “—I love him, alright? I love him!” Eddie winces. (Well, you asked for it, sucker!) She adds it doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s going to become an accomplice to a criminal act committed against her own father, though. Suddenly his attitude changes and he becomes cool towards her. Fr/Ed says great. “Happy to hear it.” (Like Hell, you are!) He tells her the negotiation between the two companies will go through. However, he doesn’t want a soul to know they’ve met like this. He wouldn’t like her step-mother or Anibal to think he’s overlooking anything. They can thank her for closing the deal for them. Then he summarily dismisses her saying he’s got to get back and entertain the vice president of his company. He won’t even look in her direction. Nanda gets ready to leave.

By the elevator, with no one around, Babs now tells the comandante that Gonzo has just changed his mind and now prefers confronting the social scandal to losing the business he’s dedicated his entire life to. They can’t afford the luxury of a $3 million loss, she explains, and so she wants him to notify all the media and appropriate law enforcement agencies and to put Damian’s photo everywhere possible to ensure his immediate capture.

Dewey tells Eddie that now he understands why he is so in love with Fernanda. (The audio tech in charge of editing the CC has taken a powder here, so the rest is translated without the proverbial safety-net. A-gain!) She’s a beauty, and only a girl like her could win the likes of Eddie over says Estev. Ed’s overcome with the little green monster inside him at this point, and he swears to his BFF that he doesn’t love Fernanda anymore. “--Uh, come again?” Eduardo says he hates her now. He hates her with all his might. (Yeah, right. The guffaws in living rooms throughout Viewerville are, shall we say, loud, long and legion.) Estev says hang on just a minute here. He’s known Eduardo for the last six years, some 2,190 days-- and the entire time he’s heard nothing but how much he loves Fernanda Elizalde; that she was perfect, beautiful, intelligent, honest and just so-o-o fine. All of a sudden he’s telling him he hates her?

Eddie pouts then finally manages to spit out an immature “Well, then I’ve idolized her too much! Now I hate her!” (His beautiful lower lip pooches out.) Estev says, “A-hah! That’s a bit different. Just because you are hating her now doesn’t mean you do hate her. (Doncha just love these male heart-to-heart’s? The logic is so piercing.) Can I ask just what it was, exactly, that makes you hate her now?” “—She loves her husband! I asked her and the cheeky broad confessed it.” “—And why did you ask her?” “—Idiocy.” (Here, here! I mean, just what was she supposed to say? He’s an oaf and a bore who snores in his sleep and belches like a pig after every meal, in addition to being an embezzler, and so she hates the slug and wishes she’d never married him?) Estev just shakes his head in disbelief.

Back in the reception area at Grupo Lactos, Babs thanks Comandante Lozaya who has just pulled out all the stops for her, and he assures he’ll do the impossible to make sure they find Damian Gallardo’s whereabouts. He leaves. The Barbot allows herself a smug smile.

Estev wants to know where this question came from. “Fernanda comes to do business and the best you can do is to come out with a marvelous question like that?” “—Yeah, I know there was no reason to, but I did.” “—so what were you expecting to hear? ‘I married the guy but I hated him’? Who am I speaking to here? Franco Santoro? Do you think she would have answered the same way to Eduardo Juarez?” “--I’ll never know the answer to that.” Duckworth tells him it’s no big news that there’s no difference between love and hate in a situation like this. Ed responds with something sensible finally. “Eduardo loved her, but Franco Santoro cannot love her.” “--Now that’s sensible, and that’s your mistake, Eduardo. Franco Santoro has no emotional tie with her. You’re accusing her because she treats you like a stranger and, really, she has no reason to treat you any other way.”

Ed gets frustrated. “Ok. So what now? Do I reveal my identity after everything that I’ve done to her? Do I tell her I’m really Eduardo?” “—I’m just telling you the way things are, not how they ought to be.” Ed apologizes but is still frustrated. “You’re right, but I cannot take back the lie now.” Estev reasons that there are only two options for Ed: either he follows through to the end and suffers the consequences, or he disappears immediately. “Fernanda could forgive everything you’ve done and you two could be very happy together… if it weren’t for the existence of Barbara Greco.”

Speaking of Barbie, she goes back into Gonzo’s office and lays it on thick now. “I can’t believe that Damian could do something so despicable and to such a wonderful girl like Fernanda.” Gonzo swears he’ll make Damian pay for this for the rest of his life.

Santiago is now back home in his room at Hacienda Elizalde and finishing a preliminary sketch of Aurora on his easel. Nanda walks in for a heart-to-heart with her bro. They hug. He’s like manna from heaven for her right now. The feeling seems to be mutual for the heartbroken Santi. She asks what happened between him and Rory, but he’d rather talk about what’s happened to her and Damn. He’s impactado to hear that Damn left her and took a cool $3 mil while he was at it.

Speaking of the Wretch of Rome, Damn and Vlad are swilling beers and munching manwitches for supper. He tells Vlad that he always behaved like a gentleman around Fernanda. (I’m not sure about all of the rest of this conversation here. The audio tech is still out taking a toke.) Damn says he saw to all the little details and paid attention to all the formal courtesies. He gave her and the family his all. Once he’d married her, though, he realized that he’d made the biggest mistake of his life. He’d scarcely put on the ring when he noticed that he was a total idiot and was being taken advantage of. “You do for them and they take advantage of you!” He starts giving Vlad a bit of advice to the lovelorn then. Damn tells Vlad that he’s got to make Pris a bit jealous. When Vlad disagrees he tells him that’s why women don’t pay attention to Vlad. “You have to make them suffer a bit and the more you hurt them the more in love they become with you.” Vlad considers this.

Back at Las Animas Estev continues with his own advice to the lovelorn Eduardo. “Well, you could say that Fernanda is pretty much a single woman again.” Ed says she’s going to be a shattered woman. Estev says Franco will be there to help her through it. One way is by going ahead with the business deal. Ed says, yeah, by giving her the start-up money… $3 million dollars. Dewey says the other way is to have Franco Santoro woo Fernanda. Eddie takes a minute to masticate on the implications of this tasty tidbit.

Meanwhile, Fer tells Santi that Anibal and Cad blame her for Damian’s deceit and he has a hard time with that. He says he’d rather talk about how she’s feeling right now, how she’s holding up. She says she’s completely shattered by it all. She simply cannot understand how Damian could have deceived her the entire time all for $3 million dollars. (¡Qué ingénua eres, Fernanda! I sure could! What naivte! It’s not like the guy exactly came from money. Ursula is all the proof you need, dearie.) She thinks back to the mariachi serenade, the beautiful meal with a pair of pearl and diamond earrings as dessert, and his telling her that he’d wait for her a lifetime --and three more-- if need be to consummate their marriage vows. (That’s real crap! Who puts off sleeping together on their wedding night, let alone begs off for a full week after? And lest we forget, the dude didn’t make a move without Barbie’s approval. Everything, down to the last detail was all Babs’ doing –not that naïve Nanda could know this, of course.) “Can you imagine how painful it is for me to realize I’ve been tricked, that I’ve been used and how I wish it were only a nightmare?” Santi tells her that although Damn was never one of his favorite people, she shouldn’t jump to conclusions. She must give it all time to play out and just see if he really is to blame. (All right, so Santiago isn’t a total loser.)

Ed tells Estev that there’s no doubt what he feels for Fernanda is love, but the idea that Franco Santoro should make her fall in love with him—well, he’s not sure he’s quite ready for that at the moment. Estev wants to know what he has in mind instead. Ed says right now he wants to put the Elizalde family in their place, to make them understand that they cannot humiliate others the way they do, then to free Lili from that asylum she’s in, and to make sure that Barbara Greco pays for her crimes, but most of all to find out who his mother’s enemy is. Dewey says that all sounds reasonable. “But the problem is that to continue with my plans I need that $3 million by tomorrow morning.” Duckworth chokes. (No help on that end, I guess.)

When the rest of the Elizalde family finally gets home, Fer overhears AB and Cad griping to Gonzo and Babs about her scheming. Cad accuses her of throwing up a smokescreen at them in order to protect her hubby. “Otherwise she wouldn’t be hiding,” says Any Balls. Fer comes out of the shadows on the balcony above and defiantly yells down at them all, “I am NOT hiding!”

Tontas no Van Friday 5/8 We’re under attack! Pau! Pau! Pau!

Ay, caray! What an episode. It appears that Paulina is attacking on numerous fronts (at least 3), all part of her devious scheme to have poor Santi fall into her clutches. I was thinking about Charly’s wish list, starting with a cheer (porra), and I decided if Paulina had one, it might go like this:

Pau, Pau, Pau! Here comes Paulina
No one is sneakier no one is mean-ah
Pau, Pau, Pau! She’s worse than Mariloca
Don’t get her mad or she’ll hit you in the boca
Pau, Pau, Pau! She’s got the Pau-er
She sure can attack tho’ she looks like a flower
Pau, Pau, Pau! Watch out, Luc and Isa
They’ll bend to her will like the Tower of Pisa!

Go……..Pau!

Gimme a P, gimme an A, gimme a U, What’s it spell?

(Lot’s of trouble for all our characters).

Okay, my apologies to all you poets out there, but as my wife always says
You’re a poet and you don’t even know it.
But your feet show it. They’re Longfellows!

Sorry again, I get silly sometimes. Now back to our story.

After revisiting 1) Ceci’s somewhat suspect warning to Soledad about Raúl, 2) Candy and Santi’s announcement of their engagement in front of the whole family, and 3) Paulina’s bombshell pronouncement to Isabel that Rocío is actually the daughter of Mario(!), we’re ready for even more fireworks tonight!

Isabel doesn’t believe Pau. No prob, replies Pau (this paternity thing is her attack No. 1), let’s just do a little DNA test. Isa doesn’t need a test to know that Rocío is her granddaughter, and besides, if Mario was the father, and Paulina loved Mario back then, why didn’t Pau just leave with Mario? Simple. Mario didn’t want kids, so Pau says she felt it would be easier just to marry Santiago, who did want kids. Pau then gets really down and dirty, remarking that Santi doesn’t have any kids at all. Let’s see, he’s not the father of Rocío, he’s not the father of Lucía, and as for Marissa, who knows where that kid is? This really angers Isa, but Pau says she’s really not that bad. She left her nice house in New York, and here, she has this big house, her daughter, her husband…. If Isa doesn’t go against her, (I think she says, still not having captions) Pau will give Isa a grandkid, and this one will be real! Isabel slaps her hard.

When asked about the wedding date, Santi and Candy tentatively say one month, after which Paulina knowingly asks Rocío to congratulate the couple, which of course causes Roc to say she doesn’t want to. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Donato brings Tina up to speed about the engagement, but he’s worried that Paulina is causing problems by turning Rocío against her Dad. Tina thinks Pau is a shrew (una arpía).

Charly and Lucía enter the kitchen to clear things up, but they quickly become about as clear as mud. She’s upset about Charly and Daniela, he’s upset about Lucía and Federico, neither will admit they’re jealous, and they end up screaming at each other, yelling that they don’t even want to be friends anymore!

Santi and Candy try the grown-up approach to convince their reluctant kids. Santi explains that no one forced Rocío and Chava to be friends, their hearts just chose this. And it’s the same with Candy and Santi, their hearts just chose each other. Roc doesn’t want Candy to be her Mommy, but Candy points out that Roc will always have her own Mommy, and Chava will still have his own Dad. Chava isn’t convinced, though, and runs off in protest, followed by Candy. Santi is doing a little better with Rocío, but not much.

Pat is mad at Arturo for getting mixed up with the mafia, how could he? Art first says there’s no proof, but Pat reminds him about the unsound buildings, Pat knows the score. Maybe, replies Art, but he’s paying for his sins now. He reveals to Pat that he has major prostate problems, he’s going to have some studies done, but the results may not be very encouraging.

Okay, enough of this doom and gloom. Gregoria and Meño are sitting in front of the mirror, both applying yellow wrinkle cream like twins, first to the cheek, then to the forehead, in sync with each other, gossiping about Candy and Santi. Candy comes in, distraught, plops down on the bed, Greg and Meño swivel around, what’s the problem? Candy’s upset about Chava, who can’t sleep due to worry about Santi and Candy. Greg and Meño sit on each side of Candy, cheer her up a little, when she notices their ridiculous face cream. Meño first jokes that it’s warpaint, admits it’s for wrinkles, as Greg asserts that of course she doesn’t HAVE any wrinkles, and we go to commercial with Jaime Camil’s song (Señora de Nadie) in the background.

It’s late, and Candy can’t sleep. She sits in semi-darkness on the steps inside her house, when there’s a knock at the door. Santi can’t sleep, either. He comforts her about Chava, saying they have to be patient. They love each other, and they’re not going to give up that love. They hug a little.

It’s finally morning, and a sleepy Chava is on the phone with his Dad. He tells Pat the reason why he’s sleepy – he was up late at Rocío’s house, and he was not happy to find out that Rocío’s Dad is now the novio of his Mom Candy. On the other end of the phone, someone else is also not happy.

Candy is reminiscing about the good times she had with Chava growing up, as we see a montage of Chava as a baby and a little kid. Gregoria comes in, smiling and holding an envelope. First, though, they look at some of Chava’s baby pictures. They debate which is more important – being a mother, or being a woman. Greg always felt she was both combined. She shows Candy that the envelope has a note from Arturo wanting to get together with her. Should she go? Not unless you want to hurt Margarita, says Candy, and Greg doesn’t want to do that. She then goes on a little lighthearted rant about how women really don’t have time to decide which is more important, being a woman or a mother, since they’re always busy, cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids, and as she walks out, Candy is feeling a little happier.

As Greg comes downstairs, she sees that Meño is talking to Pat at the door. Pat is unhappy (see above) and wants to talk to Candy. Candy has her new “look”, with the plush hairstyle, extra makeup and a little white dress. Gregoria and Meño leave the two to tango, while they retreat halfway up the stairs, ears wide open.

But first, it’s time for some evil, as Paulina (attack NO. 2) triumphantly presses “enter” on her computer, sending Lucía a cute little email containing pictures of Lucía and Fred kissing in the dark, thoughtfully accompanied by a happy little note to Luc, saying Hola! Lucía I’m sending you these photos, whadya think?

Pat asks if Candy’s getting married, and she confirms it. Isn’t it a little soon, he inquires? Candy is more interested in why Pat keeps avoiding giving her the divorce. Well, Pat’s sad, and he thinks Chava is sad, too, and Chava’s suffering, and he just wants Candy to think about that. He leaves, as Candy’s face falls. The mice come out from hiding, and Meño opines how muy mala onda (uncool) it is for Pat to be using Chava to get back with Candy. Gregoria’s on board too, maybe she could talk to Pat about his not giving Candy a divorce. Candy thinks they’re a bunch of gossips.

Ah, well, the death knell for the sex bell. Santi’s taking it down, as Hort and Lalo watch and comely assistant holds the ladder. Lalo’s about to cry, the bell was so pretty. Hortensia is also sad that Santi’s dallying days are done. Comely assistant gives silent support.

New-look Candy makes her entrance at the Institute. Hola, chicas! She’s got her little white dress on, the big hair, nice high heeled sandals and a smart red handbag. How strange, where is everyone? Well, they’re all in her office, and when Candy enters, they ooh and aah at our new-looker. Barb asks if anything’s official with Dr. Plastico, and Candy flashes the ring, along with her brilliant smile, as the ladies squeal with excitement! Before giving the details, Candy wants to talk with the psicologa Barb (?). It’s the same question, woman or mother? Barb reassures her, don’t pressure Chava, observe him, give him time. Eventually you’ll realize you can be happy with Chava and with Santiago (as Jaime Camil’s song plays again).

Who’s Candy’s first client of the day? It’s Amanda, secretly hired by Paulina (attack No. 3) to separate Candy from Santi. She has a very delicate matter, and Candy assures her they’ll keep it quiet, but no, she wants to make a public complaint. Candy asks her to tell what the problem is, but she’d rather SHOW it. She lifts up her sweater in the front, showing Candy (but not us) a horribly disfigured stomach, the result of failed plastic surgery. Amanda wants the quack doctor who did it to go to jail, to PAY for his crimes. Candy (who, as we know, has a long history of distrust of plastic surgeons) is in total agreement. We’ll get lawyers, we’ll get the guy, we just need some background data. First of all, what’s the name of the guy? Santiago Lopez Carmona!

At the restaurant, Ricardo has come to see Meño, who proceeds to shut him down fast. Meño tells Ric he knows about the letters, stop sending them, Meño doesn’t like them at all. Ricardo feels he can’t deny his feelings, but Meño reminds him how much this is going to hurt his wife Catalina. Meño relates how when he told HIS wife, there was a lot of pain. Meño wants to be direct. Is Ricardo gay, or he playing some game?

Candy thinks there must be a mistake. Amanda is sure there’s no mistake. In fact, this terrible guy has an office in this very building, one floor down. Candy can’t believe it. Why not? Because he’s my novio! Amanda feigns surprise. How could you, Candy fall into his trap? (redes, or nets). This guy has two faces. One is kind, intelligent, professional, but when backed into a corner, he’s the Devil himself! Candy, wake up! Candy is trying to explain it, but Amanda adds that when she confronted Santi with the problem, he denied everything, and kicked her out! And she’s left with the disfigurement. Candy is blinking, choking in stunned confusion.

At Santi’s house, Isabel is sitting with Santi in Santi’s home office (he has some figurines of jazz musicians on the desk). He recognizes that something is wrong with Isabel. She finally brings himself to say that Paulina bothers her. No problem, says Santi, we’ll tell her to leave. Isa is relieved, yes, please, that’s what I want, and by the way, your friend Mario, have you noticed that he’s changed? What do you mean, asks Santi? From behind Isa, the voice of doom (Paulina) says “tell him, Señora Isabel. If you don’t, I will!” Suddenly, Isabel doesn’t feel like talking, and says she would like to lie down. Paulina says fine, but if you leave, I’ll just tell Santi EVERYTHING! Santi, your Mom wants Mario to leave because he is..Paulina, wait! interrupts Isa.

Amanda is still toying with Candy. Of course, Candy must think she’s lying, of course she’ll back her novio, I guess I can’t count on your help after all, she says. Candy wants Amanda to put herself in Candy’s place, but Amanda says No, put yourself in MY place. You talk about aiding people with problems, but I can see which team you’ve chosen. I’ll just leave. Hope you don’t regret your choice. Candy weakly asks her to send the info, she’ll look at it, and as Amanda exits, Candy’s “new look” isn’t looking so new anymore.

Remember four paragraphs back when Meño asked Ricardo if he was gay? Well, it’s now two seconds later, and the answer is yes, but Ric’s not ready to tell his wife. Meño says he’s known Ric and especially his wife for years, and is Ric really sure he’s gay? Ric denied it for years, but it’s always been true, and he doesn’t love his wife. He just doesn’t want to lose this chance at happiness. He puts his hand on Meño’s. Meño asks, what happens if I don’t move my hand, and leave it here, under yours?

Isabel is still fumbling, when Pau “rescues” her, telling Santi that what happened was that Isabel saw Pau kissing Mario on the mouth, and like any mother, was worried about the consequences. Santi tells Isa he’s fine with Pau and Mario, don’t worry, Ma, as Isabel has essentially caved to Pau’s pressure, and can’t say a word.

Ricardo replies to Meño’s question, if Meño left his hand there, it would mean he’s giving Ricardo an opportunity. Meño removes his hand. If I left it there, it would be a disaster. Every time I see Catalina, I’d be thinking I robbed her husband. Ricardo protests, but Meño says he doesn’t want anything to do with Ricardo, and actually doesn’t want anything to do with anyone else, either. He’s a bear and spring has passed him by (I think that’s what he said). Ricardo says don’t torture yourself. I’ve always had a lot of affection for you. You’ve always been very important to me. VERY important. As he leaves, Zamora and Toño offer Meño a tequila for his pressure, pretending they heard nothing, but would Meño like to tell them about it?

Mario and Pau are walking in the garden, Pau complaining about Isabel, telling Mario that Isa now knows that Rocío is Mario’s daughter. What are you talking about?! Demands Mario. Well, it’s true, says Pau. “Just what I need” says Mario in exasperation, one more person (Santi) who wants me dead! He tells Pau about how the mafia guy Gabino is getting suspicious about what happened with Mario and the operation 6 years ago. Pau doesn’t want Mario to be hurt. Mario reminds her that she knew all about it. Pau says no way, and if you said anything, I could die too. Don’t say anything, as she gets all seductive on Mario, gives him a deep kiss. This is observed by Isabel, standing 30 feet away at the house’s back door. She closes the door, clasps her hands together in distress as her mind replays Pau’s words about who is Rocío’s father.

Rocío wants to read her email on the girls’ computer, but Lucía doesn’t have time, and is reading her own email. Okay, challenges Rocío, I’ll just tell Daddy you have a novio and you kissed him! Lucía denies this, but Rocío says her Mom showed her the pictures on her cellphone! Luc kicks Rocío out (but she actually hides outside the door, her little face still showing). Then Lucía looks at her computer, and sure enough, there are the pictures of Luc and Fred in the bedroom! Lucía shuts off the computer, races outside to confront Paulina. Paulina admits taking the photos, teases Luc that she hopes Luc used a condom, says she might show them to Santiago, and this infuriates Lucía, who says nothing happened, and she’s not afraid, but Paulina spits back that she SHOULD be!

Finally, some good news, as Donato reads Tina’s follow up tests from the breast cancer, there was no metastasis! Tina’s still worried about the radiation therapy, but Donato is supportive, and Tina is very thankful.

In the playhouse, Chava and Rocío are friends, they’re going to play husband and wife. Never missing an opportunity to cause problems, Paulina comes in with Attack No. 4, suggesting to the kids that rather than playing husband and wife, they could play novios. Rocío can be Candy and Chava can be Santiago. Well, neither of them wants to be the hated novio of their parent, an argument ensues, and in less than a minute, Rocío is telling Chava to leave her house, which he’s happy to do!

No puede ser, repeats Candy to herself, thinking about Amanda’s story.

A little later, Rocío is telling Santi what happened, while serving tea with her little girl china. Santi reminds her she really does like Chava, and she agrees. He wants her to call Chava, to apologize, and they can be friends again. Santi calls the house, and Chava’s not home, but Gregoria tells Santi where Chava is, and Santi and Rocío will go meet him.

Chava’s in the park, kicking the fútbol with Beto and Pat. Margarita and Alicia observe from the shade, the baby carriage at their side. Marg is happy, Ali is fed up, she’s still not into this kid thing. Marg tells her to bear it, has she seduced Pat yet? Ali has done everything short of walking nude through the house. Be patient, advises Marg. A man can last a month without soccer, but without sex, no way! They watch the three boys, happy in their boy world, yelling GOL!

Gabino is in the Italian restaurant as Arturo enters, no wanting to sit down. Gabino says build me the building I want, or else!

And our final scene is quite provocative. Santi arrives at the park, Rocío goes off to be friendly with Chava, as Alicia shows the baby to Santi! Does he want to hold him? He does, and Santi lovingly cuddles Patito, completely unaware that it’s his OWN SON!

Cuidado: Friday 5/8/09- "Fill-in The Blanks"

I apologize, but with Mother's Day, I just finally got around to watching Friday's show.....which for some unknown reason did not record. Therefore, I'm translating from the Esmas.com and youtube websites for this capitulo. I'm sure there is a lot left out, so please feel free to fill in the blanks and correct any error. Thanks. Marichuy falls down the stairs. Ana Julia is standing at the top, holding the baby, and cries out MC's name and "what happened!". Pat and Cece rush to find MC laying at a landing half-way down the stairs. Neither slips on the butter as they rush down the stairs to their daughter. MC is passed out, and Pat asks AJ for details on what happened. She's not sure she says, but MC was trying to go down the stairs like she's shown her. Rocío returns home in high heels and a head band. Balbina is happy to see her. Balbina tells her that Juan Miguel is out of town. Balbina asks for Vicente, but before Ro can answer, Onelia shows up. Ro tells Onelia that she's left Vicente, that she thought she was marrying the perfect man, but she was mistaken. Onelia offers her some comfort. Onelia fills Ro in on her own transformation. They get MC into a bed. AJ says they need to do something for her. Ana Julia recalls the spill on the steps, from before. MC awakens, to Pat, Cece, and AJ hovering around her. Cece's happy she's awaken and OK. MC says she's not OK, she's blind. Methinks MC is having a pity party for herself. JM work on his laptop in EEUU. He has flashbacks to times with MC and AJ's confession of her feelings for him. He thinks MC's in good hands. AJ and Cande exchange words. She tells Cande that is was her fault that Marichuy fell down the stairs. Cande, sobbing, can't believe it was her fault, she'd never hurt MC. She remembers the spill from earlier and does feel she's to blame because she dropped the baby's food. AJ lets Pat and Cece know of Cande being to "blame". Cande begs for forgiveness, she'd never hurt MC. Cece thinks it was an accident, but Pat is angry. Pat decides this will be the first and last time that Cande puts MC in danger, so they'll forgive her this time.....but this time only. Fo has flashbacks to her wedding day. Mayita is happy that Ro is back home. She takes her upstairs and they talk to JM online. JM's surprised to see Ro back home. She tells him she needs him and misses him terribly. She tells him her marriage is over. MC dreams of Juan Miguel. Cande sobs to Dori. She remembers that Dori cleaned the stairs and figures that AJ must have done something. She goes to find AJ in the dinning room with Pat and Cece. She blames AJ for what happened to MC. AJ is shocked, and Ana Julia lays it on thick ---offended from Cande's accusations---and says that she'll go. Pat and Cece don't know what to do. Cece worries what would MC do without a friend like AJ. AJ tells her to chose between her or Cande. Only one of them can stay there. Cece is fit to be tied. Pat can't handle it and collapses into the chair with chest pains.

MEPS, Thursday, May 07, 2009, The Cats are Chasing the Rats and Damian Gets Dumped

Happy Friday, world. Hope you have a good day. Someone please post this for me. Thanks.

It must be Thursday because it’s 8:03 p.m. CST and Televisa is still broadcasting Cuidado. So, those of us who are recording via DirecTV will lose some of the transmission since our DVR’s record in time segments. Just thought I’d vent that out.

Manana begins at 8:06 p.m. CST. Fer is lamenting the absence of Damian. If she only knew. Ed propositions Barbara – or so she thinks.

Santi tries to cheer Fer up. She’s happy he’s here when she needs him most. Mercifully, this is the last we see of him in this chapter.

Franco keeps pouring more wine for Barb. He tells her she’s an intelligent woman. She says, why aren't you dealing with Anibal. He laughs. She wants to know what business he’s proposing. He tells her that he has to minimize Power Milk’s risks. She can’t stand his evasiveness. Ed wants the community center built asap. She thinks he’s just making up excuses to see her alone, and she reminds him that she’s a married woman. He’s not fooled.

Camilo enters Gonzo’s office, where Dam’s mom is still hysterical. Camilo tells Gonzo he has to see him. It’s real important.

In a scene of delightful domestic bliss, Vlad, wearing an apron, is making breakfast for Dam. Dam says that if Vlad keeps his mouth shut, he’ll help him get Pris. That is Vlad’s dream. Dam says that if I say it’s so, it’s because it’s going to be.

Lili tells Martina that she doesn’t want to live. Martina tells her Ed came to see her. Enter Dr. O, Mrs. Ciro and Simple Simon. Mrs. Palafox makes nice with Lili. That woman has the worst facelift. She looks like a renovated Zsa Zsa Gabor. Or, is it resurrected?

Barb questions Ed about how he is going to save the company from ruin. He says, he assures her he’s not taking advantage of the situation. He tells her he’s still having problems transferring the money to Grupo Lactos. The stress is getting to her. Some things bother her. She wants to tell him all and wants to know if he can keep a secret. His cell rings and he has to leave the room. It’s Steve who’s at Toluca Airport. Ed tells him not to move and thanks for coming.

Barb keeps pressing Ed for info about when the $3 million will arrive. He says within 24 hours and she congratulates him about how easy it is to do business with him. He’s trying to get up to her level. He gets close to her. An intelligent woman is always attractive, he says. Who are you really. Really, he says, your best friend, Barb. She says this is the beginning of a long friendship.

Mrs. Palafox is trying to get info out of Lili about his papers. Lili attacks Mrs. Palafox and Dr. O is delighted. Mrs. Palafox didn’t even lose her wig.

Anibal is at the computer and telling Gonzo, Camilo and Fer that the money is gone. Only Barb and Damian know the passwords. Camilo says it must be Damian. Fer tells Cam that Dam’s mother told her Dam was leaving the country and would never return. Camilo of course adds that he went on their honeymoon with someone else and wants them to call the police.

Dr. O tells Mr. Palafox that he warned her that Lili was dangerous and crazy and that she was committed to the asylum 15 years ago by her family, unlike Ciro who admitted himself. Could Ciro have admitted himself to get away from Mrs. Palafox. Mrs. Palafox insists on talking with Martina. She’s getting desperate to find the papers.

Gonzo tries to slow Camil down. Anibal can’t get Barb on the phone. Her phone is turned off. Camilo wants Gonzo to call someone in the department of immigration. Gonzo keeps saying they don’t have proof. I assume that they want to prevent Damian from leaving the country. Anibal and Camilo argue against him. Gonzo keeps insisting that Barb has nothing to do with this.

Deep Throat and Barb have a conversation. She’s telling him about getting the $3 million tomorrow and Deep Throat thinks that’s splendid.

Mrs. Palafox sweet talks Martina and gives Martina her telephone number. Mrs. Palafox asks Martina if she knows Artemio Bravo. We can only hope this information gets to Ed.

Barb asks Artemio when the craziness will end. He says Lili will kill her father and every drop of Elizalde blood will be wiped off the face of the earth.

Pris is talking to Vlad about her investments. He wants to help her by setting up a trap for Anibal. She must get a separation or lose her money. She says no dice. Don’t you want to know what your husband is doing behind your back? You’ll end up in the street. The street is apparently the private hell of anyone who has money because that’s where they end up when they have no money.

Barb finally speaks to Gonzo and he tells her to get to the office immediately.

Pris wants to see Vlad. He’s delighted. She doesn’t care that it’s late and she’s going to his apartment to talk. He says tomorrow and sends her a kiss and jumps around like a crazy man. Damian has been choreographing this and reminds Vlad of the conditions. Dam needs to get on the internet. Vlad will do anything for him. Dam thought bubbles that Vlad is an idiot. It takes one to know one.

Fer and Ursula talk. Ursula is distraught and drunk. She can’t believe what’s happening. Fer tells her to go home. Fer asks Flor if by any chance she has Vlad’s phone number. Barb struts off the elevator. Fer wants to talk to her. And, she asks Barb if she has the business’s bank passwords. Of, course, I do, purrs Barb.

Vlad goes out for sandwiches. Dam wants cookies. He needs the energy to work on the computer.

Barb is on the computer at Grupo Lactos. She begins to hyperventilate. Get Damian quick. We have to have an explanation for this.

Dam can’t believe what he sees. He wants an explanation from Barb. Looks like he’s figured out that he’s been double crossed.

While Barb and Fer are at the computer, Barb’s cell rings. It’s Damian, Fer chirps hopefully.

Barb grabs the phone. Barb says, no, love, it’s the plant – not Damian. Barb wants to know what happened between her and Damian. I’d like to know that too, says Fer.

Damian is beside himself with anger. Only $300 has been deposited to his account. He leaves a message for Barb to call him asap.

Fer keeps talking to Barb and asks what’s happening. Barb tells her that their money has been transferred from Chicago. Their deposits have disappeared. Exactly $3 milllion has been withdrawn. Barb says could it be possible that Damian did this. Fer wants to know why she thinks this. Barb says that Dam has the passwords. Barb digs a little deeper. Yup, it was Damian. His number was used to make the transfer. Fer is distraught. Fer doesn’t want to believe that Damian cheated them. Gonzo enters and is furious.

Gonzo wants to know who she met at the club. Barb is shocked.

Ed introduces Steve to Gardenia who admits she doesn’t know a word of English. Good old boy Steve talks about food which is her favorite subject. His accent is so good. Steve asks if Gardenia was that girl who wrote him letters and who wanted to be his girlfriend when she grew up. Steve asks Ed if Gardenia is in love with him. Ed says, no.

Ed tells Steve that he’s been doing business with The Hyena.

Barb went to the club to talk about Grupo Lactos’ business with Franco Santoro. Power Milk hadn’t yet deposited the money promised. She gets on her high horse and reminds Gonzo that she has acted solely to save the company.

Artemio’s private eye tells himthat Franco Santoro is a very strange man who is hiding something. Aremio wants an X-ray of Franco. The private eye tells him that in two days he’ll have what he wants. He orders Manzanares to get rid of the priest. Manzanares promises to rap it up in two days.

Fer tells Gonzo and Barb that Ursula told her that Damian called to tell her he was leaving the country. Barb, who is breathing heavily, says, without you? Suddenly, Barb sees that $3 million has been withdrawn from their account. It’s Damian who has done this dirty deed.

Damian is frustrated that he can’t get Barb on the phone. Happy Vlad enters with goodies and Damian screams at him. Can’t you see I need to be alone. Damian calms down. He explains to Vlad that he’s still waiting for the money transfer and that he’s had a momentary lapse of control. Damian is losing it. He tries to call again. No luck.

Ed tells Steve how grateful he is to have him as a friend. Steve wants to know it all. Ed says his situation is desperate. He has 24 hours to save himself or sink.

Anibal rages to Barb, Camilo, Fer and Gonzo about the evil Damian and that he stole another $3 million from the company. Ever the understanding brother Camilo yells at Fer and asks her how could Damian do this. She leaves.

Martina is taking care of Lili. She wants to know what happened with her stepmother at the hacienda. Lili says she’s not crazy. Martina knows that. Lili says that La Hyena wants to kill her father. Dr. O enters and tells Martina he needs her to do him a favor.

The Elizaldes continue their yelling at each other. Gonzo wants them to support Fer. Anibal reminds Gonzo that this $3 million withdrawal will ruin them. Barb tells them that if they acknowledge this, Power Milk won’t invest money with them. They have to wait till the money is in the bank and then denounce Damian.

Vlad wants to know if he can help Dam. Of course, says Dam. He wants Vlad to call Grupo Lactos and ask for Barb. Vlad doesn’t get it. Dam tells him that Vlad has to say that Franco Santoro is calling. Santoyo says Vlad. No, Santoro, screams Dam.

The Elizaldes discuss the intervention of Franco Santoro in their business. Camilo continues to denounce Fer. Flor tells Barb that she has a call from Franco Santoro. Anibal wants to know what he said. Nothing, says Flor. He wants to talk to Barb. She goes to her office to take the call.

Barb answers the phone. Vlad passes it to Damian. She didn’t count on this. Did she actually think she was going to be rid of this pest so easily.

She tells him she’s been busy and wants to know what he wants. There’s been an error. Only $300 has been deposited to my account. It’s a mistake, she says, that’s been corrected. He’s ever so grateful. But, yes, Damian, it’s only $300. She calls him a rat. She gives him the heave ho and tells him that he’s going to be pursued by the Elizaldes the rest of his life.

Avances: Damian has a fit and starts to wreck Vlad’s apartment.
Fer visits Ed. She hugs him and he’s overcome with emotion.

Doña Bárbara - Thurs., May. 7 - María Nieves wakes up; Tigre digs up the money

Sapo tells Pernalete and Mujica that they have to go find out where DB is.

DB tells Melquíades that the newspaper article will flush Sapo from his hiding place because he will come after her. Melquíades tells DB that he prevented León, Tigre, Celeste and Leóncia from leaving town and made them return to La Chusmita. DB says that soon they will find the stolen money.

León runs away from La Chusmita and tells Tigre to dig up the money and meet him at midnight.

While watching Gonzalo being put handcuffed into a police car, Santos tells Marisela that crime doesn't pay and that they have to see that justice triumphs.

Antonio tells Don Encarnación that Lucía wanted all of them to remember her through her daughter but if DE continues to insult him and Cecilia, he'll have no choice but to prevent DE from seeing his grandchild. Antonio tells DE that it is his decision. DE gets up and leaves without a word.

María Nieves shows more signs of life.

Santos once again urges Marisela to come back to Altamira with him. She continues to say that she has to be alone to clear her thoughts. She will only let Santos give her a peck on the cheek.

Everybody reads the newspaper article. Andrés tells Santos that it was DB who gave the newspaper all the details of the story. Santos says that DB wouldn't do something like that without a reason.

Pernalete and Mujica find El Miedo empty except for Juan Primito who tells them that DB is at La Chusmita with Eustaquia.

At La Chusmita, Melquíades tells DB that Leon has taken off. DB cracks her whip and tells Melquíades to bring all the remaining Mondragóns to her. Melquíades drags Tigre back with his wrists bound and with a noose around his neck. DB forces him to tell her where he and León hid the money. After he has dug it up, DB orders him to be tied up to a tree.

Mujica and Pernalete report on what they found at El Miedo to Sapo.

When Melquíades asks if he should go after León, DB says that he will come for the money.

As the new Governor, Antonio has slicked his hair back. He tells Genoveva that he won't let any papers leave his office until he has read them three times. [Third time's the charm.] Geno tells him that Marisela is in the garden crying about Santos. He asks to see her.

In a cute scene, Marisela and Antonio pretend to be very formal with one another. Antonio tells Marisela that he is sending her to Progresso to make an official inquiry on how MN is doing. Marisela says that she knows he is just putting her near to Santos. He tells her not to be a coward.

MN wakes up with Altagracia, Pajarote, Santos and Dr. Arias present. He asks about Carmelito and they have to tell him that Carmelito died. He tells them that the killer was León Mondragón. Pajarote leaves without a word. Santos starts to leave and Melesio asks if he is going to file charges against León. Santos says that if DB had anything to do with this, she knows where León is.

Federica makes an unsuccessful attempt to escape from the house with Chocolatito. [I think she's carrying a Chocalotito doll in this scene.]

Pajarote spies on what is going on at La Chusmita.

Sapo beats up Federica. Mujica tries to stop him and Sapo knocks him out.

Gervasia comes to see MN. He tells her about Carmelito's last words.

Tigre's cousins are now working for DB.

Santos comes to Las Chusmita and Melquíades gives him the saddle bags with the money. Santos goes to see DB. [There's a continuity problem here. DB hands Santos the saddlebags that Melquiades already given to him.] DB tells Santos how she found out that León was the killer and got Tigre to tell her where the money was. She says that of course Santos thought that she was behind the crime. Santos apologizes. DB asks why he would think that she would rob him and kill his men. She suggest that he thought she getting revenge for his abandonment of her. She tells him that whether he believes it or not, she has always been on his side. She says that she only cares about Santos' opinion of her and he hates her. Santos says that he doesn't hate her. He hates the highhanded way she does things; he hates her crimes and her ambition and for the rest, he is bewildered by her.

Melesio, Cósme and Andrés come in to see MN with Gervasia and Altagracia. From out of nowhere, Marisela appears in his room and this scene was obviously filmed without her being present. Marisela tells the terneras that Antonio is now the Governor and that she has lots of other gossip. She asks if they have seen Santos.

DB says that she only wanted happiness and joy by Santos' side. Santos says that joy can't be found robbing and killing people. She replies that she killed to avenge herself on her rapists. Santos mentions various non-vengeance killings such as Apolinar Prieto, his son Orestes, Danger, and BP. DB says that he always blames every murder on her. Santos replies he may have blamed her for some murders she didn't commit but she can't deny that she has killed people and consisently robbed cattle and land from her neighbors. DB tells Santos that she had the article published because she is sure that Sapo is still alive. When she finds him, she will kill him, too.

DE comes to the hospital where Cecilia has just finished nursing the baby. She lets him hold the baby and says that she will teach him what to do to take care of the baby so that she can visit her grandfather on the weekends. DE says that he owes Cecilia an apology.

Marisela tells the terneras that she is concerned that Santos has gone alone after León. She wonders where Pajarote is.

Pajarote is watching Tigre's cousins torment him.

DB tells Santos that when Sapo is dead, she will have peace and magically turn into a good mother and a good person and Santos will come back to her. Santos tells her that she is dreaming.

Juan Primito tells DB that he told Mujica and Pernalete that DB was at La Chusmita with Eustaquia.

Eustaquia is alone in bed at La Chusmita when she is waken up by a noise and a shadow falls on her.

So now we have Santos alone leading Tigre on foot somewhere at night - presumably from La Chusmita to Altamira. Santos must know that Tigre's murderous brother is still at large. At least Santos is armed, unlike MN and Carmelito when they were carrying a large sum of money. Sure enough, someone is stalking Santos and Tigre from the bushes. It's Leon. Does he shoot Santos from concealment in the bushes? Of course not. He jumps out and confronts Santos thus allowing Santos to grab Tigre and use him as a shield. Guns fire as the episode ends. I'm guessing that Pajarote, who is despondent at the fact that he wasn't with Carmelito and MN when they were attacked, is going to save Santos here. He was watching Tigre at La Chusmita and has conveniently disappeared. If he was hanging around La Chusmita, one would think he would have offerred to accompany Santos and Tigre back to Altamira.

Las Tontas Thurs 5//7 - Yeah drop the bomb! Just drop the bomb! Lemme see that bomb!

From last night: Alicia surprises Pato with an Hola mi amor! Candy and Santi return home and discuss their kids. Pato tells Margarita that their wealth is mafioso money. Candy comes home and gives Chava an elaborate ship model which he promptly throws on the ground. Brat. Amazingly it does not break.

Tonight:
Candy cries about Chava's tantrum and Gregoria comforts her. Meanwhile Chava pouts upstairs. "Why don't you love my papa?" he demands when Candy joins him. Candy tries all ways to reason with him but he's firm. He wants to live with his mama and his papa. Candy tries to explain and Chava tells her to tell Merengue.

At the big house Rocio's also got the blues and wants to know why ma can't be pa's girlfriend. Mean mommy says that's what she wants too, for them to be together and happy. Can Rocio keep a secret? If dad marry's Chava's mom everything will be different. She asks if Rocio loves Chava's mama and Rocio says right now she doesn't love anyone or anything. Pau instructs her daughter to not mention their conversation to daddy.

Over at the Instituto Chayo decides she wants to become a psychiatrist. Meño shows up to report on Candy and Santi. He won't say anything except they were on the beach, under the sun, alone...and it's time for dance class. He ushers the unsatisfied ladies away.

Lu walks with Freddie but her thoughts are of Charly kissing Daniele. Fred tries to poison Lu's mind against Charly. Then he makes his move, saying he's ready for the next step of their relationship. He smirks over her shoulder while he tells her how much he wants to be with her.

Isa confides in Jaime that Pau is a cockroach. Jaime already knew this because he has seen her wings. Isa elaborates that Pau put the horns on Santi when she went to NY. Jaime wants to tell Santi immediately but Isa is fearful Pau will hurt Rocio.

Santi gets a better homecoming from Rocio than Candy got from Chava but the questions are the same. Why doesn't daddy love mommy? He says he won't lie, he loves Candy and he won't be boyfriend or husband or spouse to her mama. Rocio doesn't like this and leaves the room.

Freddie gets that pouty, faux-sincere face that a lot of really good-looking guys master early on in life to get their way. (To be fair to the gentlemen among us I'll add girls do it too but we're talking about Freddie now.) With that face he tells Lu that Charly has HIV and she'll have no future with him. With that face he lies some more about how much he cares for her and wants to protect and care for her.

The bad guy Gabino meets with Pau while the bodyguards observe. He called her there there to ask if she knows anything about his papa since she was Mario's lover when he operated on dad. She says WAS, past tense, and all she knows is that after the operation he (the dad) left. Why doesn't he ask Mario himself? He'll tell Gabino the same exact thing. Gabino gazes at Pau pointedly, like a predator, while she tries to maintain her composure.

Freddie and Lu suck face and he says he's only demonstrating his love. He disses Charly some more and tells her today is a special day, he wants to make love with her. More sucking face. What a coincidence, this whole situation sucks. Run Lu run!!

Pat tells Art that Gabino is mafioso, what was he thinking? Art tries to make the distinction that he worked for Gabino's dad laundering money (through construction) and now son of Gabino only pretends Art works for him. "Dad, you're garbage!" Pato exclaims, thus clarifying his feelings about the situation.

Cuau calls Lulu at work with some news that makes her gasp. She tells Sole she thinks she has a date! Hey, what about Toño?

Candy tells Merengue that she's Santi's novia. Chayo hates this and snatches Merengue back. Candy says she likes Chava's dad but she doesn't want him to be her novio. Chava insists he is NOT going to be Santiago's friend.

Pau meets with a skittish woman that apparently her lawyer knows. Amanda says she met Licenciado Menendez when he tried to help her with her lawsuit against a plastic surgeon. They ended up losing because the doctor paid off the judge. Pau suggests that Amanda tried to buy the doctor's lawyer. This pisses off Amanda who tries to show Pau her botched surgery but Pau wrinkles her nose and declines. She says she's looking for someone like Amanda to help her with some business. Amanda asks what kind of business? Pau asks what's her price? Amanda is offended and leaves, "I have no price!"

Al interrupts Pato's daydreams of Candy. "Hola mi amor, look who I brought!!!!" She sticks Patito in his face which helps bring Pat out of his funk. He asks Al for a favor, whenever she finds him lost in thoughts of Candy will she remind him he has three sons and for that he should be happy? He lovingly cuddles Patito.

Amanda decides to return and hear Pau's plot. Pau needs help separating a man she wants from some chippy named Candy. Amanda must pretend to be an ex-patient of Santi's whose life was destroyed by his crappy plastic surgery. She wants Amanda to confront Santi so that Candy will be disillusioned by him. Pau starts to explain the details of her heinous plan as we break for commercial.

(There will be a movie on this channel Sunday night. It's called La Misma Luna starring Kate del Castillo. I saw it when it was released and thought it was quite good.)

Back in Guadalajara it's night and over at the big house Lucia tries to sneak Freddie into her room. Where's Donato when we need him?? A door cracks open and we see a spying, smirking Pau.

Greg tells Meño about Candy's transformation. A doleful Candy joins them. Meño's jaw drops at her makeover. He's so jealous, her hair is like grass. (A joke I think.) He tells her he knows who his invisible friend is. Greg, who used to be homophobic, is absolutely ecstatic and blurts out "Ricardo!". Meno tells Candy it seems Ricardo wants to come out of the closet but he doesn't want Catalina to think he stole her husband.

Meño notices Candy's ring. "What?!? Oh. My. God. Don't you get it Greg? The plastic doctor proposed marriage."

NOOOOOOO... Freddie starts to undress Lucia and horrid Pau takes a pic with her cell phone. Bitch. On the other hand, why are they making out in front of an open door? When I was young I made sure to lock doors. I mean if I were young I would lock the door. Yeah, that's what I meant to say.

Pau smugly visits Santi in his room and flips her phone back and forth before sauntering out. She returns a few minutes later with some champage. She pours two flutes and toasts. Santi is confused.

Thank goodness Lucia pushes Freddie away and sees the open door. She shuts it, silly Lucia. Then she tells him to leave, smart Lucia.

Cuauhtemoc and Lulu are on their date. He flatters her and asks her to call him Cuau. She eats it up and says certainly because it reminds her of the famous mexican athlete Cuauhtémoc Blanco. He takes her hand and notes how much they have in common. He asks her a favor. Can she teach him? (Teach him what, to cook? I think I missed something.) She excuses herself to use the "tocador" (to touch up). Cuau calls someone and says Lulu's such an ingenue that in 2 or 3 days they'll have the info they need. Damn him!!

Lulu calls Candy from the tocador to tell her she's in love with a very sensitive man. I'm now having a fantasy of Toño using Cuau as a piñata.

Pau polishes off the bottle of Champagne and makes herself comfy on Santi's bed. She passes out (or pretends to) so he has to carry her out.

Next morning Lucia hears Pau asking Rocio wouldn't she love to sleep in the same bed as her mommy and daddy? She suggests that Rocio bring it up to daddy and tell him it's her idea, not mommy's. Lucia scolds Pau for brainwashing her sister. Yes Rocio is her sister and if Pau continues washing Rocio's brain her vacation in this house will be over! After Lu stomps off Pau smirks at the incriminating picture of Lucia on her cell phone.

I love how Isabel and Jaime often eat breakfast out on the patio. She complains to him some more about Pau, how she abandoned her son and her granddaughter. Jaime calms her down and says things will work themselves out. (Las aguas tomen su nivel.)

Mario tries to visit Shanti at the office but unfortunately he is followed by Gabino who wants to talk to him...now. Mario is visibly shaken when Gabino asserts that Mario knows why he's there and between him and Doctor Lopez Carmona he will get an answer.

Meño and Charly meet to compare their lists. Charly says the first thing he put down is a cheer. When he was young and played soccer he used to imagine that his father was in the stands cheering for his goals. Meño says he would love to cheer for Charly. Meño's embarrassed about his first item. He's always wanted to learn to dance flamenco. Daniele shows up with the news that...her papa has asked her to come home! Hugs all around. (Charly said "porra" which I believe means a cheer. I'm not completely certain and it took me a while of looking in my dictionary and poking around the internet to figure this one out. At least I think I figured it out.)

Gabino escorts Mario back to his lair and informs him he won't leave Guadalajara until he finds out about his papa Don Roque. He wants to know why Mario is protecting Lopez Carmona. He knows Santi was the first doctor his dad consulted because he was there. He recalls Lopez Carmona wouldn't take the case because he was too honest. Gabino glares at Mario with a jaundiced eye.

Over at the Institute Ceci scowls at Raul. Sole runs in and gives him a big hug and kiss. Raul gloats at Ceci only slightly.

Ricardo visits Meño at the restaurant. Meño is frosty and Ricardo asks what's going on? Meño responds he wants nothing going on with Ricardo. Smackdown.

Mario tells Gabino that his dad Don Roque has been gone these 6 years and nobody will find him. We learn that Gabino Jr. has been handling "the biz" all these years. Gabino thinks Mario is a little too sure that his dad won't appear and insists he'll not leave Mario in peace until he knows what happened to his dad.

Pau and Mario bicker over lunch while some shady guy takes their picture. Mario threatens to her that he will to tell Shanti that they were lovers while she was still married to him. I think the shady guy is is the old bodyguard that Mario paid off.

Ceci tries to turn Sole against Raul, she says Raul is not in love with her. Raul is a widower and merely looking for his dead wife's substitute. She mentions that Candy told her his house is a museum to his dead wife's memory. This worries Sole, what does Ceci mean a museum?

There is a large gathering of both Santi and Candy's families. Chava is still working overtime being a little pill. Isa sees the ring, guesses they are engaged and Santi formally announces that they are novios!! And engaged! Lots of hugging.

Pau stomps into the kitchen and Isa follows to gloat, Santi is in love with Candy nyaa nyaa nyaa take that! Furthermore she's going to spill the beans to Santiago and help him erase his past with Pau. Pau asks isn't Isa afraid of losing Rocio? Isa snickers and says no judge would separate Rocio from her father. Pau drops the bomb of all bombs. Isa is right, however Rocio's papa is not Santiago, Rocio's papa is Mario. Isa is impactadoza.

The episode ends with Jaime Camil serenading us with "Señora de Nadie".

And another bomb, we're in Las Ultimas Semanas!!!

P.S. I just read on the Cuidado comments that Violet got an A in her microbiology class. Kudos to Violet!!
