Llena de Amor #161 (Mex. 184-185) Fri 4/1/11 Justice

Part 1 I'm Not a Puppy You Bought

At the subasta, a giant cockroach drops from the rafters, removes Fedra's tiara, and ascends into the heavens as Comisario Tejada and Inspector Brandon look skyward with pistols drawn firing at the dark insect. The super-roach is of course

el Lirio de Plata.

Urging the helpless police to capture the giant bug is none other than Emanuel Ruiz y de Teresa who... hey wait just a stinkin' minute isn't he

el Lirio de Plata?

......and thus begin tonight's dissected episodes of Llena de Amor . Let's see if Dr. Carlos can reassemble the severed parts (without the aid of any aspirants to Telenirvana as described by Maggie in her solicitation for recapping volunteers) into a semi-coherent Frankenovela for your amusement.

Meintras tanto, a rather tasty looking Gretel is entertaining a hunky guest in her bedroom and it ain't Oliver. Cripes! It's that walking talking chunk of dog dropping, Alfredo. Has she lost her everlovin' mind? Oh, that's right... she's CRAZEEE! It's back to the wine cellar with you young lady.

She is very seductive and he is clearly smitten and... Well thank goodness... it's a sting operation. Somehow Oliver and Delicia have convinced Gretel to help them entrap that scum. They are in another room with that little buzzard-puke, Axjólio, watching Gretel ensnare Alfredo with her charm (which is nicely displayed, I might add) on a video monitor. Excellent! Of course Axel, who looks like something the cat coughed up, is skeptical. Oliver grabs him and sets him down in front of the monitor so that he can watch and learn. Alfredo leaps into the bed, pulls down his tanktop and pats his pec as we try to swallow back the vomit welling up in our collective throat. The years in the wine cellar must seem like Spring break compared to what Gretel is facing at this moment, but let's not forget, she is a journalist and will suffer to get her story. She even touches him... GACK!... Well... that's why Dios invented soap, but Delicia is disgusted. Oliver encourages her to remain strong.

Gretel pushes him back and he quickly sniffs his armpit and wonders, "Should I have used Right Guard?" She says that her last lover was the worst kind of traitor. Back in the control room, Oliver objects. Alfredo kisses his bicep. Gretel closes in again "I want my next novio to be faithful (fiel). What about you and the servant girl?" It's wakeup time for Axjólio. Alfredo spills the soup. He tells her of Delicia's drugging by Fedra and the job he carried out for Axel's mom. Axel is stunned. Delicia glares at Axel. I don't detect forgiveness in her eyes.

Folks mill about the stage where

el Lirio de Plata

has just relieved la Reina de la Noche of her recently acquired coronet. Lo is relieved. No way is he going to pay a cool million for a stolen tiara. Mauricio is livid... no... actually he is still a sickly shade of orange, but he's very angry. Fedra mourns the loss. Kristel finds it, "shocking!" Muñeca wonders how

el Lirio de Plata

could be responsible with youknowwho still in the room. Fidel doesn't have the foggiest idea. Ilitia complains to Emanuel as Victoria suddenly thinks of something that she must do to help and hurries away leaving Jorge with Jesús en su boca.

*Alfredo reveals everything to a fascinated (and fascinating) Gretel. The drugging, the photos, the graffiti on Dee's back. Axel realizes his stupidity, but waaay too late. Delicia spurns his pleas for forgiveness and sadly kicks his sorry butt out. Quiet justice.

A self-satisfied Alfredo continues to gloat and settles in for some sweet lovin' from the sultry Gretel. She moistens her lips, gives him a wanton hungry look, asks if he'd like for her to disrobe, and reaches into the cleft between her billowing globes to reveal.... a microphone. Gotcha!

WTF! Her seductive smile contorts into that angry grimace that we've come to know as the face of Gretel, she reaches way back, and then delivers a slap that causes cheers to erupt across this land. Not so quiet justice.

They are joined by Delicia who is seething. She delivers her own petite but powerful punch. Next!

Gretel orders him out and just as it looks as though he has plans to rape them both reaching to unfasten his belt... heeere's Oliver! Close behind is Axjólio who delivers a right cross to the chin. OK... warranted, but once again, too little... too late. Run along sonny, we girls have it under control.

Oliver ejects Alfredo, leaving a truly contrite and miserable Axel (accompanied by his own creepy clumsy guitar strumming in the background) who drops to his knees and earnestly pleads for forgiveness... nopis! Well, actually, she forgives him, "from the depth of my soul," but...

"I. Want. A. Divorce."

Anyone want mercy for Axel? Me neither.

Vicky leads

el Lirio de Plata

into the basement and stashes him in a cabinet. Really? Is that a good choice?
She drops down behind a large cardboard box. Really? Is that a good choice?
Tejeda and Moreno hurry in with pistols drawn and quickly flush out Vicky. As she stands up, she tugs down the hem of the clingy knit dress which is perhaps a size too small. Chocolates? The cops try to send her on her way but she lingers and denies that she was helping

el Lirio de Plata

but her worried eyes linger a bit too long on the cabinet.

Looking dim for José Maria. A Dr. are poised with defibrillator paddles over his bared chest. Pop! As a grieving Letty observes. She doesn't want him to die. Another Dr. assures her that he is in good hands.

Vicky has plastered herself to the cabinet doors removing all doubt. Brandon removes her and he and Tejeda fill the cabinet with lead. Yikes! This annoys Vicky so she pulls Brandon's hair. He ushers her from the basement as Tejeda kicks the cabinet open...

It's a Festivus miracle! EMPTY!

*At the hospital, more pops of the defibrillator. Nada. The Dr. with Netty declares that it looks like it's over. Netty sends a telepathic message to the lifeless José M, "You have to live, your son needs you." Monitors... flatline.

Suddenly the monitor comes to life. J M gasps.

It's another Festivus miracle!

Brandon returns Vicky to Jorge. "They killed ...

el Lirio de Plata,"

she wails. Tejeda huffs and puffs as he jogs up and announces, "He escaped!" Vicky rejoices. Brandon bites his fist. We all wonder, "How the heck did he do that?" Out of sight Eman notices that while Vicky wants nothing to do with him, she seems quite taken by... yes... sigh...

el Lirio de Plata.

He strolls out and expects an apology from Brandon. Brandon is sorry. Cops are human. They make mistakes. Eman was their best suspect. They shake hands.

*Doris is departing with a suitcase. Gladiola inquires. Yep, she's going on a trip with Andre. Gladiola is unhappy and so am I... Next!

Fidel, Benigno, and Eman return to la Buena Vida, rejoicing over a successful operation, though Fidel and Benigno are wondering, "Who was that masked man?" They are joined by

el Lirio de Plata.

A perfect caper. The tiara will help lots of sick kids. The alternate unmasks and we see... Emiliano! He's grinning from ear to ear with jauntily tousled hair.

*At the police station, Victoria (or maybe it's Marianela... who cares?) chews on Brandon. Jorge observes that Mari is smitten. Next!

Back to the celebration. Eman thanks his dad. Emiliano admits that it's the most fun he's had in years. Emil is Eman's hero and vice versa. Emiliano gives credit to Vicky for aiding him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Emiliano admits that he needs to get in shape as his back reminds him of his age. Huggies. Smiles. Tequila!

"¡Salud!" Emiliano coughs and chokes a bit and based on his reaction and that of the others, it looks like perhaps real Tequila was slipped into this scene. Excellent.

*Gladiola pleads with Doris. Doris gives her (and us) a lecture about HIV. Doris loves Andre. Off she goes. Consuelo consoles.
Oliver and Gretel return the equipment they borrowed for the sting to the police station. They have not made up, but not to worry. They are promptly arrested by Brandon for an improper unauthorized use of police equipment. Two other officers cuff them and lead them to a cell. Oliver and Brandon exchange conspiratorial smiles.

*At Netty's Nest, Vicky returns and is accosted by a (you've got to be kidding me!) a mini-

el Lirio de Plata

brandishing a gun.

el Lirio de Plata

abhors firearms, so we know that this one is a fake. Cute, but clearly a fake. He unmasks... hey it's... Javi!
Who would have guessed? Even the bitter Vicky is charmed. He asks her if she really knows the real thing. She does. He asks her to deliver a message the next time she sees him. He wants to meet and partner-up with him. Consuelo joins them and sends Javi off. Vicky is genuinely concerned and tells her that she knows someone who will help Javi. Consuelo says no thanks. Brandon is going to help. Well excuuuse me!

Gretel's as mad as a wet hen. She and Oliver are tossed into the same cell. Jail over-crowding. Oliver goes to work. After a few exchanged insults he works that old Oliver charm. She can't resist those dark pleading eyes. Beso!

*Doris arrives at Andre's place and they're set to go, but... here's Jacki.

Gretel is still resisting but... more Oliver charm... she's cracking.

*Doris leaves Jacki and Andre alone to iron out there differences. Jacki wants to resume her relationship with Andre. He supports her, but they can't be a pair. He loves Doris. Yikes! Por favor! Let these two be together!

Gretel's reluctant again. More Oliver oil. He opens his heart. She resists, "¡Te amo, te amo, te amo!" She cracks as her feelings for him boil up and over. Gretel is basically a lusty lass. We have ignition!

*The Dr. is explaining the gravity of Chemo's condition. His heart is bad. He had an infarto (Heh, heh, the Dr. said infarto) and so he's worse. Basically, José Maria shouldn't start any thick books or buy any green bananas. Netty grieves. As she approaches his bed he groans, "Hijo. Emanuel." Netty struggles with what she knows.

At la Buena Noche the party is on. Tequila and male bonding. Emanuel, Emiliano, Benigno, and Fidel celebrate. Emanuel crowns Benigno with the tiara. E&E are both proud. Haven't you boys had enough to drink?

*Emil asks about Chema, "Doesn't he work here?" No, Eman let him go when he learned that he had murdered his grand parents. "For the best," Emiliano observes.

*At José Maria's bedside, Netty realizes what she must do and resolutely exits.

*Sipping coffee Paula is distraught to learn that her daughter has been locked up, but Delicia hastens to reassure her that it's a good thing. Then Paula wants to know why Delicia looks so sad. Hasn't the matter of the photos been resolved? The reason for the sad look strolls in and asks to be alone with his wife (not for much longer if we have anything to say about it, Buster). He gives her a wan, pleading look.

Fedra, accompanied by Bernie, enter Chepa's room. Fedra's distraught as her girls are struggling to jump ship. It's more than she can take. She sends Bernardo for something... "...with alcohol, por favor." Hmmm, with Bernardo gone, she seems to recover her strength... she removes the oxygen cannula to make him more comfortable. Look, she's going to fluff his pillow... awwww... Yikes! She puts it over his face, "¡Hasta nunca, José Maria Sevilla!"

Part 2 Marianela Is a Total Idiot

She holds the pillow over his face as she berates the unconscious sea captain. This little bedside tableau is interrupted by Netty who has returned. Netty rushes in shouting at Fedra to stop. Fedra shushes her, "¡Callate!" This is a hospital, imbecile!" They struggle... boy, do they ever struggle. They shout. They insult.Speaking of struggle, Fedra's girls, loosely restrained, struggle to make an escape. Is it getting hot in here? You'll excuse me as I rewind.

Axjólia grovels and bleats. You pitiful little swinelet. Have some dignity at least. She calmly tells him, "You broke my heart... I. Want. A. Divorce." He pleads and admits that he made a mistake. You think? You really think? She reminds him of that final insult when he took her to his bed. She's not calm anymore as she tells him of her plans for the future. The main thing is... he's not in it. She leaves him to wallow in self-pity. His freaky hair looks even more ridiculous now. Go practice your guitar, kid. You need the practice.

Round two in Chema's room. Ah heck, Bernardo shows up. Fedra seeks solace. Letty tattles. Bernie knows Fedra. José M comes to and tells Netty that he needs her now more than ever. Fedra snatches the pillow from Netty and once more pounces on Chema. Bernie peels her off. An attentive Netty repositions the nasal cannula and orders Fedra out. Bernardo escorts Fedra out.

*Doris has returned home. Gladiola is ... um... glad, but supportive. Doris is sad but strong.

It's morning. Fedra has changed clothes (boooo!) and is wearing a more modest (boooo!) but attractive black dress which exposes (yey!) her right shoulder.Seated on the patio, she seethes over her orange juice. She tells Bernardo that she wants Chema dead. Bernie wants her to leave him alone. "I want him dead!" Emanuel wonders who she wants dead as he strolls up and joins the conversation. Fedra explains. Her lips are moving so we know that she is lying. José Maria is a very dangerous assassin. Emanuel tells her that he knows that José Maria is his real father but that she shouldn't fret. He has severed all ties with José Maria. Bernardo is disappointed in Eman. "Thanks to you, my captain is at death's door." Fedra focuses her deathray vision on Bernardo.

*It's morning. Snuggled on a narrow cot in a rather spacious jail cell, Oliver kisses the cheek of a contentedly slumbering Gretel. She opens her eyes and smiles. Looks as though things are alright between these two. Marianela joins them... well she walks up to their cell. She starts to explain the events of the night before but is joined by Brandon. He tells of how this lockup of the snuggle bunnies was to help his chum Oliver reconcile with Gretel. Gretel is actually cool with that and looks adoringly at Oliver as she tells Marianela not to be angry with Brandon, because thanks to him, "I'm the happiest woman." Brandon opens the cell to release the lovebirds and offers Mari a ride home, "We need to talk."

Oliver says, "Well lets get dressed." Gretel instead closes the cell door, smiles and says, "Oliver Gonzales, you are arrested for an assault on my heart. Therefore, don't leave. I want a couple of more hours locked up with you."

Eman is shaken by Bernardo's revelation,"No puede ser." He asks where he is, but Fedra objects. Bernardo stands up to her and encourages Emanuel to go see his father. Fedra expands her lie, telling Eman that her father caught José M raping her after he had beaten her, then the yacht caught fire... Eman interrupts her story as Bernie looks on appalled. Eman does not want to be manipulated anymore. He doesn't know what he's going to do, but it will be his decision. He leaves. Fedra smacks Bernardo.

Axel pleads and begs, then tells Dee that he will not permit her to divorce him. She tells him, "Axel, I'm not a puppy that you bought and can do whatever amuses you. I'm a person who feels and suffers." He takes her hand, "Mi amor...," She swats it away, "¡Suéltalo!" He tells her that he has asked forgiveness a thousand ways, "What more do you want me to do?" She tells him to get on with his life as she picks up the pieces of hers. She thanks him for the lesson. Now all she needs is a lawyer.

Eman arrives in José M's room and Netty fills him in. She tells him that his days are numbered. Eman thinks for a moment and then instructs Netty not to tell JM that he was here. He leaves.

Brandon and Mari stealthily approach the morbid manse. She needs to enter undetected or risk exposing her masquerade. He warns her that it's risky. Not to worry, eLdP has taught her the utility of windows. He tells her that she can deny all she wants, but he knows that she is in love with eLdP. Nevertheless she denies it and tells him that she will never forgive him if he harms eLdP. He assures her that one day he will capture him and put him away. Ilitia joins them, "What's going on here?

*Netty tries to encourage JM and even reveals that Emanuel came to visit but likely will not return. He pleads with her to help him gain Eman's love... just as Emiliano makes an appearance and locks eyes with Netty.

Ilitia requests that if Vicky wants to talk with the whale, do it away from here. She doesn't want to see Vicky. Turning to Brandon, she asks if he too is bewitched by this unsalted leg of Serrano ham. Vicky tells her that she should be relieved since it directs her attention away from Eman. Vicky leaves Brandon to cope with Ilitia. Brandon tells her to be careful how she speaks about his future wife. Ilitia glare

JM and Emi engage in an interesting pithing contest since JM is flat of his back with an oxygen tube in his nose... dying. "Netty is mine, she's been here with me all night..." Netty stammers that it's no more than she'd do for anyone else alone in the world under the same circumstance. "I'm not alone, I've got you." They compare the Hells that they've each inhabited for the last 28 years. JM... prison. Emi... Fedra. Emi wins.

Emi announces that he'll soon be free to be with the woman he loves. Netty weakly smiles but moves closer to Emi.

Ilitia asks Brandon if he's sure that Vicky is what he wants. After all she's had Emanuel and Jorge and eLdP. "Should I go on? Sould I add your name to the list? Because nothing surprises me." He reminds her, "You let me into your bed, or have you forgotten?" "That's very different." Brandon tells her that they're talking about betrayal and she betrayed Eman. She asks if that is what he really wants and he assures her that it is.This pleasant discussion is terminated by the approach of our chunky cherub. "¡Hola, Brandon!" Big hug for , "¡Mi Gordita!" Ilitia tells her that she wants to talk to her and Victoria.

Andre arrives at the pensión looking for Doris but finds Gladiola. Doris isn't there but Gladiola wants to talk to Andre. She tells him that Doris has shed many tears over him. He explains that he's sick and has been lashing out. Doris treated him well and thanks to her, he's still alive. He is in love with Doris. She tells him that if indeed he is in love with Doris, "... then leave her alone."

*At the agency dressing room, Doris is joined by a refreshed Jacki who announces that she and Andre have made up. She tells Doris, "Andre es mio." I say let her have him. Doris, however seems willing to fight for her love. Jacki wants Doris to do her job and do her make up for her.

Ilitia is sitting on the patio with Mari and Brandon. She wants to speak to both Mari and Vicky... together. They spar. "Vicky left." "No, I saw her in the Garden with Brandon." and on and on... Ilitia then tells Mari that Brandon is planning to marry Vicky, Mari's thrilled. Ilitia then tells hr of Vicky's conquests, including Jorge... Mari's crushed. Now she'll have to dump Jorge... leaving the door open for Emanuel... and with poor Ilitia... prenant... Brandon leads Mari away as they exchange smirks and snickers...

Marianela 1 Ilitia 0

*Javi has a headache. Consuelo escorts him to the sofa and offers to go get him some medicine at the pharmacy. He offers to go along. She leaves him alone, but not for long because he is joined by

"¡El Lirio de Plata!"

*JoséM contemplates his situation and vows to fight for Emanuel and Letty... ummm... if you say so.

In the boardroom Emiliano and Letty await Licenciado Pacheco who arrives with papers. Emiliano announces to her that he is signing over everything he owns to her. Pacheco nods in affirmation then looks for the donuts. OK, I added that last bit.

*Javi tells eLdP that he has the very same outfit, "Hey, I'll show you." "No, wait, I only have a little time." He has Javi sit and joins him on the sofa. He's heard that Javi is sick but very brave. He's going to help. They fist bump and He gives Javi the briefcase full of money for his operation.

Ilitia is angry with Mari and with herself. Nereida escorts Gladiola onto the patio. "We need to talk." Ilitia tells her that she is not accustomed to talking to people like her. Then why is she messing with her son, Brandon. Actually, Gladiola understands perfectly.

Mari and Brandon on the street. She tells him that she knows that he loves Ilitia and he tells her that he's certain that she loves Emanuel Ruiz y de Teresa, but should give him a chance. He knows they could be very happy together. A man in black exits the building across the street and climbs onto a motorcycle. Mari spots him and then proving once and for all that she is a total idiot exclaims, "He's alive! He's OK! Nothing happened!" Drawing and pointing his pistol,Brandon completes the thought,

"¡El Lirio de Plata!"

El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of April 4: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

LA REINA DEL SUR – hasta viernes

This week we see Teresa complete her sentimental and academic education in prison, under the tutelage of Patty O’Farrell, black sheep of a wealthy Irish-Spanish clan of aristocrats. We also get a glimpse of the dark secrets in the O’Farrell family, including a suggestion of a history of father-daughter sexual abuse that helps to explain Patricia’s hatred for her parents and perhaps her self-destructive behavior.

Patricia uses her influences to get Teresa released from prison after serving about half of her five year sentence. She arranges a job for her -- waitressing in a place in Marbella, perhaps a step up from the ‘puticlub’ of Yamila. And a year or so later, Patricia herself is a free woman and joins her friend Teresa.

Patty knows where Jaime Arenas hid the half ton of cocaine three years ago, the cocaine that got him killed and Patty gravely wounded, and which the Russian mob still has a claim on. Teresa and Patty gamble their lives by confronting Oleg Yasikov with a proposal to sell him back his own drugs. But it is Teresa who seals the deal, convincing him first that she can move the cocaine from its hiding place to the marketplace; and also that she can teach them the hashish trade.

On Thursday’s episode, the daring coke retrieval is carried out. Knowing that the police have been watching their every move, they distract them with a decoy yacht (yate señuelo). Meanwhile Oleg, Patty and Teresa speed away in a Zodiac. When the police – as expected -- catch up with the three, they find no drugs in their possession. (I’m still a little fuzzy on this switcheroo, but clearly the drugs were moved on one vessel while the police were watching another.)

Oleg makes good on his promised six million Euro payment. He’s impressed with la Mexicana. As they say in the movies, he tells Teresa: This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Oleg is less pleased with Patty and her propensity for nose candy and infelicitous business disclosures in public, especially when Teresa leaves her alone – and kind of jealous -- during her two day visit to Melilla. He catches her out by using a Russian mob agent, Katia, to pose as Spanish ‘Ana’; Katia reports back to Oleg on all of Patty’s indiscretions. That’s the last time you talk about our business with strangers, Oleg tells Patty. Nobody threatens me, she snarls back.

Comisario Flores visits former Comisario Saturnino Juárez in jail and questions him about Teresa Mendoza’s relationship with the Russian mob and tries to get him to spill the names of his contacts. Juárez gives him a big fat nada and tells Flores it’s just a question of time before he turns into a dirty cop too.

Meanwhile the journalist Oscar Lobato spreads the word – Teresa Mendoza is back, she’s paired up with Patricia, the enfant terrible of the O’Farrell family, and allied with a capo of the Russian mob. He wouldn’t want to be in the shoes (en el pellejo, literally in the skin or hide) of the people who betrayed her and the Gallego.

When Teresa shows up for her brief visit to Melilla, her old friends -- Fátima and her son Mohamed, Soraya, Sheila and Ahmed -- are thrilled to see her. They are impressed with how much she has changed. (She looks beautiful and sophisticated and speaks with authority.) She promises to take Fátima and Fati’s son Mohamed back to the Peninsula to live with her.

But some are less than thrilled by her sudden appearance in Yamila: Dris (architect of Santiago’s death and Teresa’s capture) and two of his accomplices, Cañabotas (who set up Santiago in Algeciras) and Velasco, a crooked cop who was part of the plot. These two disappear when Teresa and Dris step into his office to talk. She tells Dris straight out:
No voy a descansar hasta que te hunda. Ojo por ojo, diente por diente!
(I’m not going to rest until I destroy you – an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.)

Later, Dris complains to Cáceres and Coronel Chaib that Teresa has threatened him. Their conversation is interrupted when Chaib gets a call: Teresa has a business proposal for him…

Teresa Fri 4/1/11 #3 You have hunger for knowledge

(Caray needs recappers for this telenovela. Thanks to Aribeth for the title and screen caps; I have written an episode synopsis, included below the screen caps.)

Synopsis (Jeri)

Teresa promises Aída and Paulo they will be sorry one day when they need her help and she won't give it. Rosita lies to her mother about her health and enthuses about her coming-out party. Mariano's father and Cutberto regret Mariano's ditching his dream of medical studies.

Teresa resents a friendly visit from Aurora to her humble home in the projects and proclaims her recent mortification only made her stronger. Aurora assures Teresa she's her friend and that if she had a boyfriend living there in the projects herself it wouldn't matter. Unbeknownst to her, Mariano stands in the background.

Paulo's mother feigns ignorance of Aída's mother's suspicions regarding her husband's faithfulness. At a cafe, Aurora tells Teresa she wants to get married, have a couple of kids and be a teacher. She's not brave like Teresa, who insists Aurora will wind up being a pediatrician instead like her doctor dad wants.

Paulo's mother doesn't like to see him sad about Teresa and tries to interest him in a nice girl like Aída who ostensibly isn't a liar. Teresa's godmother, Juanita, made her the perfect dress in which to visit her professor; and Teresa insists Rosita depend on getting what she wants for herself, too.

Teresa rescues the (Fabiola's) fake-nurse character from the hot seat of bringing one of her supposed medical friends home for a consultation. Teresa's mom, Refugio, becomes catatonic, tortured about Teresa's involvement with the professor and sends Mariano tearing off after her to drag her back.

Hysterical Refugio is astounded to learn Teresa's dad trusts her and permitted her to talk to the professor. At Arturo's house, Teresa adores its magnificence and learns the young woman who tried to brush her off without an appointment is his sister. The sister has an inferiority complex about her appearance, in contrast to Teresa.

As it turns out, all Arturo asks in return for footing the bill for her education is that Teresa become her class valedictorian and work the first couple years with him after graduation. He wants someone dedicated and intelligent to work with him, as he thinks she is. He passionately declares she has a hunger for knowledge. Teresa in turn begins to makes him one condition, which we don't see, off camera.

Mariano pulls up in his taxi as Teresa's exiting and raises holy hell outside Arturo's gate trying to get to her, through the housemaid and Arturo's sister, who doesn't approve of the people Teresa associates with. She tells Arturo she doesn't want Teresa in the house again.

Teresa is somewhat vexed to hear that Mariano came there because her mother sent him instead of her suspicion he's jealous. The fake-nurse calls Aída's dad to meet with him, and he brushes her off due to his wife being in the room. Later on when they meet at the condo, the dad is not happy the fake-nurse wants a real job.

Back home at the projects, Refugio is startled to hear that the professor only wants her to excel and work hard. Next day Teresa tries to enlist Juanita to convince her mom the professor's ok and enthuses how Mariano still loves her like she loves him. At school later, Teresa is taken aback to see that the "Mariano" Aurora has such a crush on is none other than Teresa's own.

La Fea Más Bella #279-280 4/1/11 Hope is crushed.

Capitulo 279.
Read 5ft Latina’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Lety says she needs to think about Aldo’s proposal and everything that’s happening / what’s really happening. Aldo tells her that what she needs is to tell him yes.

2. Fern tells Marcia that Lety was jealous about Aurora, and he thinks she’s confused and doesn’t know/realize who she really wants. Marcia counsels him to not get his hopes up and his heart broken.

3. Ali locks Tom out of the bedroom of their new apartment. She tells him he should make her his assistant and triple her salary. Ali is obnoxious to Tom throughout the show.

4. Lety tells MamaJ that Aldo proposed. Mama worries that Fernando will suffer. Lety says Fern has decided to go on living, and he’s thinking about taking up with someone else. Mama says, “And you believed him?”

5. Caro tells Lety she likes Omar and he’s changed. Lety tells Caro Aldo proposed, and she has to give him an answer today.

6. Lety tells Fern that Aurora is not for him. He comes up behind her, inches from her ear, and ppppuffs in her ear as he asks if she’s jealous.

7. Fern tells his diary that he showed Lety he was capable of forgetting about her and pursuing another woman, so she could be happy with Aldo and not think that he (Fern) was suffering. But instead she got jealous which means she still feels something for him. Then he hears Aldo propose to Lety, and she accepts.

8. Lety suddenly realizes she forgot about Fernando. He quietly says, “You forgot about me when Aldo walked into your life.” As always, Fernando’s first worry is Lety’s happiness. He congratulates them and leaves. Lety says she feels horrible for Fernando. Aldo says, “Oh, I’m sure he’ll recover quickly.”

9. Marcia tells Omar that Fern has no interest in Aurora. He just faked it so Lety could be happy. The cuartel sees Fernando suffering. Fern tells Omar what happened, and Omar only asks if Aurora is coming in today.

10. Lety and Aldo make their announcement to the Padillas, and Julieta asks if they’re going to invite Fernando.

11. Fern writes, “I have no hope left. Lety’s getting married and I have to forget her. First I had to learn how to love her, and now I have to learn how to forget her.”

12. Lety tells Tom that her problem is worse than his problems with Ali. She doesn’t want to deceive Aldo but she doesn’t want to tell him about Aurora.

13. Aurora signs her contract, but she signs Lety’s signature block by force of habit.

Capitulo 280.
Read Amanda’s original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Aldo has a talk with Fernando. See the transcript. He says that Aurora is a great option for Fern (5 times), Lety would’ve been very happy with Fern because he’s sure Fern loves her, and he’s convinced that Fern deserves Leticia’s love.

2. Omar shoos the others out to be alone with Aurora. He says she should give him a chance. She says he plays with women and refuses to commit. He says he wants to marry her and grow old together. She tells him he’s vain, arrogant, and incapable of seeing his faults. He only wants her as a trophy; he doesn’t even know her.

3. In rehearsal, Fern fumbles his lines because of all the stress of the day. Aurora is snotty about it. He invites her out for drinks though his heart’s not in it. She acts like she’s above such an invitation. He says he just wanted to talk about Omar. Whatever Aurora said left him very depressed. She says she’s not the slightest bit interested in Omar. She decides she’s finished practicing for today, since Fernando isn’t in costume. She leaves.

4. Fernando tries to throw away Lety’s picture, but he can’t. To distract himself, he starts doodling on the Aurora picture in the newspaper. He says everyone thinks she’s beautiful, but he thinks she lacks something. He modifies the picture to make her look perfect – unibrown, mustache, etc. He’s proud of his work, but then he realizes the result is Lety!

5. Omar tells Caro how he felt when he first saw Aurora. He’s learning how to feel. It’s love, but love is suffering. She says, “not when love is returned.” He doesn’t think anyone can love him because he doesn’t deserve it. She tells him to open his eyes and his heart.

6. Origel tells Sara that the dinner with Colunga is tonight. Ali stole two blank Conceptos checks. She buys lots of bling and tells Tom her papi bought it for her.

7. Fern decides that the picture looks like Lety because that’s how he drew it. Of course Aurora can’t be his Lety. But he puts the picture in his pocket to examine later. He tells Omar he feels an urge to take Lety to the end of the world where nobody will find them. Omar wants to go to Tibet and get away from all women. Fern gets clobbered again when he hears the cuartel celebrating Lety’s engagement. Irma’s heart goes out to him, and he shushes her so his suffering won’t spoil Lety’s spotlight moment.

8. Omar calls to Caro but then gets tonguetied. They both steal besitos. At home, Omar starts thinking about Caro’s words, and he finally puts one and one together. (Why not “put two and two together?” Because that math is too complicated for Omar.)

9. Fern goes to Lety’s house, telling himself he just wants to say goodbye to Julieta.

10. Omar shows up at Carolina’s door. He tells her he just wants to be close to her. She excuses herself to dress and they can go out for coffee. He follows her and she doesn’t stop him. He says maybe it’s time for him to open his heart. She kisses him, and they kiss and kiss and kiss.

Spanish Lesson, Aldo and Fernando.

A: I respect you.
F: Like the winner respects the loser?
A: You’re not a loser.
F: Who’s with Lety?
A: No, we all won.
F: Yeah, right.
A: You learned how to love.
F: Lucky me, except that I have no one to love. Instead I get to see you beside the woman I love. I fought for her but it wasn’t enough to ask for forgiveness, nor to show her how much I love her. Do you know that I proposed to her too? And she accepted. But then she realized she felt something for you and had doubts. I would give my whole life so that she would return to me
A: You’re right that you need to put your life back together. You should get close to Aurora. She’s a great option for you.
F: Oh, that’s all I need. Now you want to find me a novia?
A: I just want to help.
F: Oh really? You want to see me happy?
A: You’re a good person. I’m sure that Lety would’ve been very happy with you because I’m sure you love her.
F: Yes, I love her, and where has it gotten me?
A: Look. Leticia decided, and even though she chose me, I’m convinced that you earned it (hiciste suficiente meritos), and you deserve Leticia’s love.
Aldo leaves.

Triunfo del Amor #82 3/31/11 A triumph of weeping, whining, and wailing

Os wants JP to convince Vic to tell him everything about the mystery kid. Yes, Os, you're always the last one to know. Os wants JP to tell him who the baby daddy is…in fact, he demands it! But Vic says he doesn't have the right to know. Max interrupts this tender scene by dragging Ximena in. Predictable whining ensues. Max carries her upstairs while Os calls the doctor. Vic turns on JP and blames Maria D for Ximena's troubles. She finally asks him what he came for…"I came to talk to Fer, but it seems like Ximena's the one who needs me." Vic gives him permission to talk to her after the doc sees her. But before he can go upstairs, she tells him that if his mom doesn't play ball, Vic will tell everyone that he's the baby daddy. JP says he's got to convince her to soften her heart. Ha! Like that's ever going to happen!

Bernarda and Padilla hate Vic. Yeah, we got that memo. Bernie thinks it's time to drive Vic crazy with problems. She's got a plan, and it's a fun one.

Nathy suggests a big party for JuanJo's dead buddy's baby, but the widow is still very sad and even though she's proud of her husband, but that won't bring him back. Maria D and Milagros come up and Maria tells them that Ximena made a scene. Nathy is pissed! Maria says Ximena will never leave them alone. Milagros says that Ximena is a vieja (old lady, but really "bitch") despechada (spiteful), and spiteful hags are capable of anything! Milagros advises Maria…"Don't misunderstand me, cause I like blondie, especially since he gave me my son back, but it's gonna be hard for him to leave his family, what with his sister, and besides his crazy wife's not gonna just let you take her husband away."

Said crazy wife is continuing to weep. The doc wants her to calm down. She's weak and these frequent freak outs are bad for the baby. He tells Max to keep her calm or the baby won't make it. Ximena just cries louder that she doesn't want to lose the baby and it's all Max's fault, and Maria's…and everyone else's! Wah, wah, wah!

Milagros thinks that Max is just too nice of a guy, and she knows if anything happens to Ximena's baby, Maria's not going to feel good about it. She wants Maria to give up on Max and find another guy. After all, she's young and pretty, and she's got that Eau de Protagonista about her. Maria cries and Milagros hugs all the girls.

Max clenches his jaw and tells the doc that everyone will make an effort to make sure the baby is born healthy. So he can do a DNA test and make sure it's actually his. No, of course not, that would be asking too much. The doctor leaves and Ximena wails even louder. Vic guilts Max about the baby and tells him to think about what he's doing. Then she leaves. JP asks Max to leave him alone with Ximena and Max does. JP smothers Ximena with a pillow. No, wait, sorry, that was my wishful thinking.

Israel's widow introduces Milagros to some of the other neighbors. As everyone's talking about where they come from, a younger woman walks by and introduces herself and the neighbors make fun of her. Israel's widow tells the neighbors that Milagros is a matchmaker and they get all excited. Yeah, she'd have her work cut out for her, trying to match those two! Don Napo comes off and gets them all flustered. He gripes at Milagros for leaving him alone with all those customers and when he starts flirting with the ladies, she hustles him out of there. The neighbors start fighting over who gets dibs on Napo.

JP tells Ximena to chill out already. "You know Max doesn't love you." She says it's just because Maria came between them. Xi invokes the earlier deal, where Max was supposed to stay with her until after the baby was born. She whines until she convinces JP to talk to Max. *sigh*

Maria tries to calm herself down. She tells Nathy that Max isn't going to leave his family while they need him. She'll just have to go it alone. *sigh*

Max tells JP he gets upset every time he thinks about the way Ximena tricked him. JP doesn't want Max and Maria to feel responsible for Ximena losing her baby, so he thinks they need to stop seeing each other. He tells Max that children mean sacrifice and you have to give up everything for them and be willing to change.

Ximena thought bubbles that she's sure JP will convince Max to stay with her, which will buy her more time to plan what she's going to do with Maria. Right. Cause lack of proper time to plan has been your major downfall all this time. She turns the waterworks and the whining back on when Max comes in. Max wants to have a calm conversation. She wants a promise: baby first, then divorce. "Promise me, or I swear you'll never see me or your kid again." Max promises. Dumbass. He wants her to promise to be calm. She does. Liar. "I'll do whatever you say, my love!" Max won't let her smooch on him and leaves the room.

Milagros grouches to Napo about flirting. Napo says the two of them are just friends and he's not ready to settle down anyway. "Or are you jealous?" Milagros denies it.

Vic doesn't want to talk about anything with Os but the kids…the ones they have in common, that is. Micaela comes down with Fer's tray--she's refusing to eat anything. Os goes to talk to her. Oscar needs Vic, but she says Max will have to take care of it. "He can't make this kind of decision!" A large portion of the company has to be sold right away…sales have tanked and a lot of events have been canceled. And the money for Os didn't help. Oscar says even if they mortgage everything, it won't be enough to help. Vic offers to send Max to negotiate with the bank. Oscar is willing to try it. Os tells Vic not to worry--he'll get his money back from Gui.

Max goes to see Maria. She's worried about Ximena. Max says they need to talk.

Gui is hanging out at his swingin' bachelor pad. Os comes to call, interrupting Gui's chillax time. Is he keeping Ofelia's body mummified in some other room of his house? Sorry, distracted. Blah, blah, blah, chit-chat, I want the money back from the theater. "What theater?" "The one I gave you all the money to help buy!" "I don't know what you're talking about. You don't have any proof that you gave me any money, but I, on the other hand, have a paper you signed giving me power of attorney." Oh, so the claws are out now, are they, Gui?

Ximena's freaking out, the baby's in danger, Max doesn't want the baby to die and Maria doesn't want that either. Max starts to promise that when his baby is born…Maria is done with promises. Their relationship has always been impossible, she says. Max wants a chance to prove to her…but Maria thinks it's time to accept reality and get on with their lives. Max will go be with his sister and his wife and be the pillar of the family. Their love just isn't enough. Max wants one more kiss, but Maria says they need to walk in opposite directions and he needs to do it without turning around. Maria walks away. Max walks away. Maria turns around to look at him. Max turns around to look at Maria. They go back to each other and hug and kiss. Maria pushes away from him and walks off. Max cries.

Maria walks in the park.

A photographer gets into his truck. He sees Maria. He sees her holding her belly. He grabs his gear and gets back out of the truck.

Max remembers Maria saying their love is impossible. He decides he doesn't want to lose her.

The photographer takes pictures of Maria watching the kids play in the park. It's a little stalkerrific. He asks all the kids to pose for a picture with their moms. Maria looks at him doubtfully…he's actually taking pictures of her. She keeps it together until the group of kids leaves then starts sobbing. He comes over and tells her not to cry, that whatever it is will be ok. "Sometimes we think that what happens to us in life is the most important thing, but the most important thing is that we're alive. You'll be fine, you just have to calm down. You'll see." Max comes over to beat the guy up.

Gui plays dumb. He says he hasn't defrauded or robbed. "You signed the documents. It's not my fault you didn't read them." It's all legal. The theater belongs to Gui and Gui alone. Os punches him! Fun times! He starts choking him…woo hoo!

Photographer guy is all, "Dude, you hit me!" Max is all, "Dude, you're macking on my woman!" Photographer guy is all, "Dude, she's YOUR woman? No wonder she needed comforting!" Max is all, "Dude, the best thing you can do right now is walk away." Photographer guy is all, "Dude, I know that, but guess what, I'm not gonna…nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah!" They start to fight again and Maria is all, "Dude! [that's Max dude, not other dude] This isn't helping! And besides I, like, JUST broke up with you!" Max is all, "But I don't wanna break up!" Maria is all, "Dude, like you're the only one who doesn't like it?! You gotta go now. This whole thing is just too messy! Just go away and quit making this harder than it already is." Max is all, "OK, fine! But I--------- will always love you-------------…" They're all *smoochies* while the Photographer guy is all, "Cool, it's my turn!" Max leaves.

Os keeps choking Gui. Gui punches him and stumbles away. "Why are you doing this to me?" "Seriously, dude? You have to ask? It's because I hate you, duh! You stole the woman I loved!" Os reminds Gui that Leonela never loved him. "Yes she did! She did until you showed up!" Hm…this sounds familiar. Gui's been waiting for his moment of revenge. And this is as good as it gets? Gui says he orchestrated Vic finding Os in the hot tub with Linda. He pulls out a gun and he and Os fight over it. The gun goes off (mark your BINGO cards!).

Gui got shot. Os calls 911.

Photographer guy apologizes and suggests they start over. He introduces himself as Alonso del Angel. Maria is ready to take off, but he wants to know her name first. He wants to see her again. She laughs and says now's not really a good time. He offers to be friends and to give her a ride to work. Maria doesn't get into strangers' cars, though. He apologizes again and then offers to walk her to work.

Max is back at work, all pissy and taking it out on the office furniture. He tells Fabian that he and Maria broke up and some other guy has already after her. Fabian tells him to just calm the hell down already. Oscar, Toni, and Pip come to tell Max the company is tanking and he's got to save it. Fabian agrees that things have been in the crapper since Vic stopped coming in. Oscar gets a call…he has to leave and he can't give them any details. Toni shows Max a report.

Maria and Nathy are at work, talking about Maria's breakup. I'm sure her boss finds that thrilling. Nathy doesn't like it, it's not fair. Tears and hugs.

Max finishes reading the report. Yes it's that bad. Yes your mother knows. There's an interested investor, but they have a risky proposition--they want to buy a certain percentage of shares or there's no deal. Max says they aren't going to let themselves be blackmailed. He goes to talk to the bank. Fabian hopes he can work a deal.

Max is at the bank, still thinking about Maria. Does the phrase "bigger fish to fry" mean anything to you, Max? Yes, yes, it was a sad breakup. And this whole thing is stupid and created by the stupidity of the couple in question. The bank manager comes in and Max asks him for a loan. The manager says he's heard rumors that they're nearly bankrupt and he's not comfortable loaning them money. Max says they've always paid early. The manager says there's just not enough collateral for them to use. He won't budge.

Sweet William Levy in a Kayak!

Tomorrow: Alonso finds out about the baby before Max; Vic wants Os to sign the divorce papers; Os finds out about the baby; Max finds Xi and Gui's place; Vic finds out they're nearly broke; Xi whines some more and the threatens to throw herself out of Max's car.

Eva Luna #103 Thu 3/31/11 ... Lady Bang Bang goes beserk at the return of the living dead ... but who will laugh in the end?

This recap is by Marta

Reviews:
J: give the final blow so Marcela will rot in jail for life.
Ger: whatever happens I will be beside you in the whole tour…
Ric: I saw them hugging! Adr: You are the one she loves!
Ev: Your daughter went totally nuts! She hurt Laurita!
Bimb: I am not nuts… I just want to leave here…
Jojo: What happened with Francisco? / Maris: you were right, we are not for each other.
Lil: Eva, what are you doing here?
Leo: I agree that you have our child.
Bimb: She is my friend, she will help me.
Mati: I could swear Dano still loves you.. Eva: well, you can see he doesn’t.
Maris: That should make you happy… jackie: Yes, I do love him.
Lil: Everything went perfect. I am already at Dano’s house, all because of your sis nuttyness
Fran: Be happy… Take care, ok?
Leo: Mom, just tell me one thing… is it true you killed Dano’s parents?
Jul: Justa loves you as I would have wanted her to love me.
Marce: I tried to kill Eva because of you! Because you did not fulfill your part of the deal.
Tony: would you marry me?
Ali: I am pregnant.
Ric: God bless you! Maris: Same to you…
And tonight…
Eva: I have to talk to you about something that… I don’t know how you will take it… IT is about our wedding…
Leo: What about our wedding?
Eva: I have been thinking … we have to postpone the wedding until your mother’s trial is over…
Leo: But that is not necessary… I agree to make the event smaller, more discrete. Instead of at the church we can have a ceremony here at the house… dear, you assured me you would not leave me for your mother’s mistakes…
Eva: I am not leaving you! I am just asking you to understand this is not the right moment!
Maris is saying her goodbyes at JustManor… the agents rush her to make it short… you don’t want to miss your date with fame, right?
Matilde pokes Alicia to tell her who is the father of her child, urges her to tell Eva and her mother… Alicia trusts Matilde to keep her secret… sure… (Matilde, didn’t you keep a secret for a long time and then have to appologize for it? Are you making the same mistake?)
Tony tells Dona Justa her board house will become a stop point at the hollywood/L.A. tours…
Fran is complimenting Jackie on her breakfast… Jackie asks him how it feels to come back to sleep here again… He says he has had time to think and realize he made a mistake… not really sad, but what I lived with Marisol was a crazy moment that passed… want to change now… want to be able to sweep someone off her feet, and not do it based on lies…
In Deborah’s car, detective tells her they found an invoice for a rental car stating she rented a car the day she killed them, and that a doctor assured him they can prove there was poison on the bodies of Daniel’s parents, just have to get Daniel to approve the exhumation of the bodies to get that ball rolling. Deborah is ecstatic…
Tony is with Gallo, is having a hard time telling Gallo why he came, Gallo guesses he had another brawl with Leo… no… Tony says he wants to leave the business… Gallo just asks ‘what?’… then goes irate… ‘say what, Tony?’… Tony says he is tired of being a nobody… wants to change his life, to get an honest job… Gallo is in disbelief, are you serious?... Tony says he wants to marry Alicia and make a family with her… when he proposed that to her, Alicia told him he had nothing to offer her… he thought about it and she is right… Gallo laughs… mocks Tony’s feelings and plans with Alicia… Tony is serious, Alicia is the love of his life… Gallo keeps laughing and mocking… existential crises of adolescents… you love money, and getting it through other means it will not be easy, you don’t know how to do anything else… Tony confirms he does not know to do anything else, but want to change, want to grow and learn and if that gets him closer to the man Alicia wants, then he will do whatever it takes… Gallo just says think about it… doubt Tony is willing to die for her… Tony asks Gallo for support… Gallo says you know that is what will happen if you leave… it is too late to leave… so I will make my mind as if I never heard this, as if this chat never happened… GET OUT!!
Eva is asking the lawyer (the one Marcela called inept, useless, etc) to delay the accusation against Daniel. The lawyer guesses correctly she is doubting that Dano is guilty… ok will do. Eva asks him not to tell anyone..
Leo tells Liliana he had to let Eva postpone the wedding to prevent her from cancelling the wedding altogether… what you have to do is get Dano in bed… that is what I brought you here, that is what I paid you for.. (Lileach gets a constipated facial expression)
Dano goes to Eva’s office at work… tells her he wants to talk about Liliana
Eva: You and I have nothing to talk about Liliana… If you think I care about that you are wrong..
Dan: Well, from your attitude yesterday, I don’t think I am wrong.
Eva: My attitude? (we hear their theme song begin to play in background)
Dan: I felt like you became jealous when you learned that I had invited her to stay in my house.
Eva: Please, what could I care about that?
Dan: In any case, I just wanted to tell you that I did that to protect her from Victoria. Victoria attacked her in her hotel (room). And I thought it proper to offer her my house. She will be safer there. That is all. (and he leaves her with her mouth open.. good move, Dano!)
Deborah tells Julio what she talked about with the detective. Julio is pleased… Deborah says there is a hole, we can’t prove Marcela had access to the poison… Julio says that is not hard... Deb wants to know what he is thinking.. .he says if necessary, I know how to prove she had the poison and how she used it.
Dano is dropping Laurita at the boarding school, but only to keep her safer there… next time you come home it will be to stay for good… (too bad this lovely father-daughter scene was witnessed by Lileach… so that is a danger detail)
Lawyer is telling Cruella that there is one good news and one bad news… the good news… Dano and Eva retired the accusation for attempted murder… (Cruella begins to celebrate saying the lawyers can’t fight her) … and the bad one… the district office has raised charges against her for the murder of Daniel’s parents… Marce is sighing and looking at her burned hand…
Marce: They can’t prove that.
Law: Am I hearing right, Marcela? Are you trying to let me hear that you did that crime?
Mar: I did not do it, that is why they can’t find evidence against me!
Lily, in black negligee goes in Dano’s room, tries to convince him that he is sad about not having Laurita with him and about what is going on with Victoria… then she slips to him that it was Victoria who manipulated Laurita into believing that only if she was away would Dano be happy… Dano says he always suspected something like that… everyday he is learning about more things that Vicky did … Lileach keeps putting on the flirt… I will take care of helping you forget all that and make you happy… Dano turns her down in no uncertain ways…
Lileach: it is obvious Eva is still in your thoughts…
Dano: Yes, but not only in my thoughts, also in my heart… Good nite.
Lileach leaves the room but thinks… Eva, always Eva!! Victoria should have finished her off when I told her!! I don’t care… Even though Leonardo wants her alive, I need her to die!!
Said potential murder victim is talking to Pablito and herself in front of her little cute boy…
Eva: You know? You were born of a great love… because for a while your dad and I loved each other very much… we thought we would be together forever… suddenly something happened and then we could not be together… but you were the fruit of that love… a love that will exist for life…
Days go by..
Trial against marcela for Pedro and Monica Villanueva’s murders begins…
Marcela’s lawyer is the other guy… he tells her the witnesses who will be here today have no concrete evidence against you…
This is odd… the DA asks Deborah to say what made her think that the death of Daniel’s parents was no accident but a murder committed by Mrs MA… (weird way to begin the questioning… and I have watched a lot of Law and Order episodes… )
Deborah declares that she heard Marcela when she had her delirous statements,
Also she said she had burned her hand when she lit the car on fire… she began investigating and discovered several things that compromise her (Marce)… back then Marcela wanted to prevent Pedro from selling his agency stock to strangers… Marcela’s lawyer says that is just heresay… but since Deborah heard it from Julio, she can’t state where she heard it from… so that detail is stricken. Deborah also mentions that Marcela was staying at a hotel 4 hrs from the city but there was never a fire at her hotel room like she told everyone else, thus she burned her hand when she ignited the car… the lawyer asks her if she has any evidence that Marce was present when the accident happened… Deborah can’t show any evidence… so she is dismissed…
Alicia comes to visit Pablito and Matilde keeps poking her to tell who her baby’s dad is.
And to tell her mom and Eva. Why so much mystery… you will know and will understand.
Back to the courthouse…
The police agent is declaring about having had to declare it an accident for lack of evidence, but there are new discoveries that have reinitiated the investigation.
Marce’s lawyer brings up the actual invoice of the rental car, which shows two different mileage readings when she returned the car… so the lawyer requests this evidence be taken out for being ‘tampered’. Marcela smiles back at Leo, she is very confident.
The hotel manager declares there was no fire at the hotel, so Marce must have burned herself elsewhere..
The doctor declares that Dano’s parents were poisoned, but the lawyer asks if he can prove it was Marce who did it… nope…
Marce’s lawyer makes a motion to remove the charges due to lack of evidence or concrete testimony… (Marce smiles while Dano, Eva and the DA look surprised)
At newville Fran is looking for the keys to the truck, have to go pick up Laurita…
Jackie is willing to help him find the keys… you have been distracted the last few days. He says it must be that the fell in love… Jackie is stunned… and asks who is it … he can’t get himself to say… and leaves, leaving jackie telling herself not to think of Fran anymore… no matter how much she cooks for him, dresses for him, cares for him…
‘a otra cosa, mariposa’
Back at court, the DA says he has one new witness… Marce’s’ lawyer protests since he was not advised… the DA puts as excuse it was required to do it for this witnesse’s safety. The judge allows the witness… Julio Arizmendi is called and the reactions are fairly predictable (Marce stunned, Jojo worried, Renata, Eva, Dano and Deborah happy)
Cru: NO!! This can’t be!! You can’t be alive!! You are dead!! You are dead!!
Jul: I am alive, Marcela… for your disgrace, I am alive.
Leo: No, no! I can’t believe it! No, dad, you can’t be alive!
Jul: Yes… in a minute you will understand everything…
Marce: I was not nuts, Leonardo! I told you I had seen your step dad!! I told you my son!
Leo: Then it was you who were at the house..
Jul: Yes.
Marce: I hate you, Julio!! I hate you!! You have to be dead!! (as he makes his way to witness stand)
Lawyer: Marcela, take it easy! This is not convenient for us!! Take it easy!
Marce: He made us believe he was dead, judge!! The one who should be locked up is him!! The one who should be locked is him!!
(The judge yells at Marcela and forces to sit down, otherwise will remove her… Deborah, Renata, Dano are smiling, Eva is nervous, Leo is in disbelief)
DA: Why did you fake your death, Mr A?
Jul: Because I discovered that my wife wanted to poison me. And that was the only want to save myself from dying.
Marce: That is a lie!! You are a liar!! That is why I hate you!! For being a liar!!
(again Marcela threatens Marcela and her lawyer to suspend the hearing)
DA: Can you tell us how you found out your wife was poisoning you?
Jul: In a very painful way… One night I dropped the cup of coffee with the medicine that Marcela insisted I take daily. The dog drank that liquid… and the next day he did not wake up. (Eva looks very sad)
DA: What did you do then?
Jul: I contacted a doctor friend of mine, Dr Marcos Garcia Miranda, present here. I explained to him my suspicions and I sent him the bottle of medicine with my maid Renata so he could get it analyzed.
DA: Please tell the court what was the result of those analyses.
Jul: The medicine was really a poison which, given in small doses (Leo is stupefied), would deteriorate my body slowly until death would come during some complication.
DA: Your honor, jury members, here are the documents from the doctor which support the results. That poison was strignine, the same used to kill the parents of Mr Daniel Villanueva. No more questions.
Bimbutt is crying, saying to herself that she has been there too many days, Liliana doesn’t want her to leave that place… no! I can’t stay here!! (she begins to bang all doors, apparently she is locked ) and yells for help to get her out of there…
Alicia is on phone with Marisol, seems Marisol is very happy in her tour… Alicia tells her about Marcela in jail, everyone is at the trial…
Marcela’s lawyer is ready to question Julio…
ML: Mr Arizmendi… your presence in this court is not only surprising for the defense, but also for your own family, whom you tricked faking your death.
Jul: I already explained why I did it.
ML: There is no explanation which will free you from having committed the grave crime of faking your death…
DA objects saying Julio is not there to defend himself but to declare in the case against Marcela. Judge agrees with him, asks ML to keep his questions about the current case.
ML: Mr Arizmendi… who brought you the coffee with the medicine, before you discovered it was poison?
Jul: My personal assistant, Ms Eva Gonzalez.
ML: And how long did she do that for?
Jul: For several months… but she had no idea of what was happening… she only followed Marcela’s orders…
ML: How could you tell that the medication that your wife bought was the same that Ms Gonzalez gave you?
Jul: Because Eva had no reason to harm me.
ML: But the facts show the contrary, Mr Arizmendi! She inherited the majority of your fortune!! (by now Eva, Dano and the DA are concerned, and so is Julio at the stand)
Jul: Well, yes, Licenciado, but…
ML: Thus, if anyone was benefited with your death, it was precisely your assistant and not your wife!
Jul: Eva had no idea that I was going to leave her…
ML: I have no more questions, your honor…
Alicia continues on phone with Marisol but Tony is standing behind her… Alicia hangs up.
Fran picks up Laurita… she is happy to leave the boarding school for the last time, where is dad? Fran is willing to hug her for Dano. He is busy with some issue…
ML: Ms Gonzalez… how did you get to work at the Arizmendi house?
Eva: Leonardo offered me the job.
ML: Leonardo is the step son of Mr Arizmendi, right?
Eva: Yes.
ML: That means my defendant was not the one that hired you?
Eva: Yes, but I still needed the approval of Dona Marcela to stay.
ML: Please tell us what were your duties.
Eva: I had to take care of Don Julio.
ML: You were the one responsible for him to take his medicine?
Eva: Yes, and I realized that the medicine was not doing him any good… on the contrary, it made him worse… and at that time I told Dona Marcela.
ML: Are you sure you were giving him the right medication, the right Dosis?
Eva: Completely sure.
ML: Is it true that you left that job suddenly?
Eva: Yes.
ML: Is it true that you were accused for stealing?
Eva: Yes, but I didn’t do it! I was innocent! (now Eva is getting visibly nervous)
ML: The fact is that a few days after you left the house, Mr Arizmendi discovered that the medicine bottle contained poison! Doesn’t it sound a coincidence to you that at that time you were gone (desaparecida)?
Eva: Yes, but it was not coincidence, because I had nothing to do with that!!
(Marcela makes a smirk of satisfaction)
Previews: all heck breaks loose in the court room… Dano is the witness of turn… apparently he is trapped into saying Eva was the one who gave Julio the medicine… maybe things turn back against Marcela because seemingly Marcela grabs the guard’s gun and begins to point it to Eva, Dano, Deborah and Julio (we see everyone’s faces in slow motion, and sepia color)… Julio walks over to her.
Jul: The only one responsible for all this is me!! Kill me!! Shoot!! Kill me!! (we see Marcela turn from pointing to Eva and Dano to pointing directly at Julio… Eva screams and they all look very anguished…)

Llena de Amor #160 (Mex. 182-183) Thu 3/31/11 Action is eloquence (or would be if they hadn't cut the best parts out!)

Tonight we get a lot of yelling and wailing, but boy howdy do we get some action as well. Some of our characters are all talk, some are talk and action, and our current mysterious El Lirio de Plata is action only. We’ve got a courtroom of chaos, a combative cantina, an auction of appropriation and much, much more. Sadly, it turns out that most of the fun stuff was edited out in favor of the boring courtroom scenes. ¡Qué lástima!

Last night: Group hug for papa Emiliano, Fedra slinks offstage.

182 - Disorder in the Court and Netty Overemotes

Fedra’s hanging around outside scowling when Eman approaches her to tell her he’s proud of his papa Emiliano. Her not so much. She snivels at the injustice, Eman did the same thing she did. Hardly an appropriate comparison and he wisely ignores the comment. He’s joined by Emiliano, Gretel and Mari and they all want to know why this Jose Maria Sevilla showed up after all these years? To torment me, is her non-answer. Emi advises Eman to avoid this dangerous criminal. Meaning JMS, not Fedra.

Oh shoot, here’s Jaqui and Andres so early in the episode, gah. Remember she’s just heard from Jorge that she’s HIV positive. She: No no no! Jorge offers support. Jaqui dashes out in tears. PSA from Andres, it’s his fault for being so irresponsible, never thought it would happen to him. Doris advises testing and immediate treatment. End of PSA. I wish.

Here’s a treat for Diann. Over in the land of the big-hearted poor folk Brandon, looking smashing and ripped in a robin egg (or is it iceberg?) blue polo shirt, is reassuring Gladi that Ilitia will be outta there and Javi will get the best treatment in the country. Eman arrives and the inevitable chest thumping and “I’ll take care of what’s mine, hands off” betwixt our two galanes is interrupted by El Liriotito de Plata. It’s Javito here to save his Brandon and Eman acquiesces to the hooded mini-El. (Sorry all, they cut this scene out of the TV version, but I'm sure Brandon will display his hot bod in another scene.)

But not for long. The two children, I mean men, are soon face to face debating the attributes and deficits of ELdP. Yet again.

Oliver is at the university, just got accepted and vows that nothing will stand in the way of him fulfilling his dreams. Lorraine slithers over thinking he’s on cloud 9 because she happens to be standing there. Nope, not interested, he’s off. Axhole’s there, tells Lorena he needs her more than ever. I knew it, me too sez her, besos, and we spy a weepy Delicia peeping at them from around a potted plant.

Fedra, the thinking man’s slut, is lounging sluttily on her newly reclaimed bed when Emiliano arrives to spoil her fun. He wants to put the pedal to the metal and expedite the divorce. Not until I get all your money and property she smirks. No, it’s you whose gonna lose everything, he growls. In fact, he’s going after all her fortune in Cancún. He plans to leave her how he found her, naked and pesoless, in a life of misery.

Eman wants to talk to Ilitia like adults. If she loves Brandon it’s his fault because he married her when he loved another. He pleads, look into my eyes and tell me, do you love Brandon Moreno? Is he the father of your child?

Well, I wouldn’t be able to fib while looking into those deep, dark eyes, but Ilitia’s not me. She begs him not to be swayed by Kristel’s nasty accusations about her and Brandon. Aha, sounds like Kristel never mentioned Brandon by name, just said Ilitia was deceiving Eman. Ilitia claims Kristel, who can’t have kids, is eaten up by jealousy and Brandon has a crush on all the ladies, her, Vicky, Mari, and finally, (her eyes squint jealously), that new chippie that just returned home.

Eman reminds her how she felt when she found out Muñeca was not her birth mom. Now he knows how it feels. He begs her not to give her baby the same treatment. Tell. Me. The. Truth. Ilitia recalls Fedra’s threat that she’ll kill both Ilitia and the baby if she tells Eman the truth. “The baby is yours,” she vows.

Meanwhile, back at the Monster Manse, Fedra tells Emi that she’s just managing that Cancún stuff for a friend of hers. Emi says yeah he knows, Juana Felipa Perez, the same woman who had to do with Mari losing her fortune from Tia Carlota, etc. He warns that he’ll leave no stone unturned until he finds this Juana Felipa and talks to her.

Over at the university Oliver finds Delicia weeping and wailing. Oliver is appropriately indignant and suggests they go eat something since they are both suffering from love. Come on you two, dump those crazy LydT kids and get something going.

Now we have a long, drawn-out conversation between Eman and Ilitia, so many lies and story changes from her and Kristel. How can he know which stories are the truth? She swears that Mau raped her. Fine sez Eman, but he knows that Vicky and Mari had nothing to do with Ilitia’s unhappiness. OK she agrees, but she’s desperate and doesn’t want him to leave her or her (not our or your) baby for Vicky. He sez if he she’s tricking him he’ll find out.

We’re in the courtroom where Mau and shady lawyer are waiting. Proud and defiant team Vicky arrives fashionably late.

Eman pals around with El Liriotito while he’s waiting for Ilitia. He tells an excited Javi that he knows the real El Lirio. Javi wants to meet him because he’s heard El Lirio helps sick kids. Eman gets that adorable “Que?” look. Consuelo sends Javi off for some water and cries to Eman that yes, Javi has a brain tumor and will die unless he has an operation but they don’t have the money.

Javi returns with that unnaturally bright orange juice that they always drink in these shows. The kid sez he’s not afraid of the operation, he just doesn’t want to die without meeting El Lirio. I’m sure Eman can help out with that. You never know kid, he could be right under your nose.

Doris is with the undeserving Andres who is finally getting his HIV test.

Nereida pleads with Fedra to allow Bernardo in to talk. OK Sure Fine, Fedra sighs, arranging herself artfully on the chair. Bern whines that JM despises him.

She says too bad, you made the fatal mistake of choosing JM over me. Bern hisses that she betrayed him too, for Lowrenzo, the biggest mistake of HER life. How could she tell Low everything and agree to marry him? She laughs and reveals that the marriage is going to be as false as her eyelashes.

Consuelo finds Ilitia in Brandon’s bed and she’s not happy. She thinks Brandon would be an excellent dad for her son. Ilitia laughs and sez Consuelo’s too late, Brandon should be a dad for his own kid and you know what? He’s going to have a son with another woman! Well, that sure shut Consuelo up. For about two seconds.

Boring courthouse scene with Vicky and Netty mouthing off their indignations and the judge pounding his gavel. Shady Licenciado Ordaz makes a claim about how Vicky set Mauricio up to leave his moneybags bride at the altar. (True as I recall.) Licenciado Pacheco says he will prove defamation of character and he calls his first witness, Emanuel Luis y de Teresa.

Looks like our two scorpions are back on the same team. Fedra enlists Bernardo’s help to make sure her marriage to Low is a fake, keep Emiliano from finding out she is Juana Felipa, then eventually get rid of both Low and Emiliano because they inconveniently want all her money and shares in her Cancún resort.

Ilitia, seriously midjudging Consuelo’s jealous state of mind, is now getting her arm pulled out of its socket by the latter, “Tell me who!!” She’s rescued by Muñeca who shrieks be careful, her daughter is pregnant! “It’s you, right?” gasps Coni, and Ilitia just smiles.

Ends up Ilitia keeps mum, Coni leaves in a huff, and Gladi crosses herself, whew that was close.

Low joins the party, not happy to find his baby in this hovel. The expected family love fest ensues. Muñeca sets him straight, doctor’s orders, mommy was with her, dad should shut his pie hole. Anyway, he’s one to talk given his affair with Fedra. Cara impactada de Ilitia. Que? With Kristel’s mother?

Oli and De are over at La Buena Vida enjoying a cold one and toasting their broken hearts. Oli says he’s doing something with his life and so should she. (What, being a cop’s not good enough?) She should go to school, get a career. In fact he’ll help her get into school. Ahh, there’s that Delicious smile we love. “Delicia Flores, executive,” she laughs.

They are joined by Doris and Andres and De happily announces her educational intentions. Then Axhole and Lorena enter the cantina so Oliver can calm De down. Next Gretel and Jairo enter so De can cool Oli’s hot head. Everybody tries to make everybody else jealous except Oli who stuffs a basket of chips in his mouth.

Back in the courtroom Eman assures Vicky he’s there to save the day. Pacheco explains that Eman was very interested in helping her. Eman takes the stand and pronounces Malicio an aberration on humanity. OK, so far so good. Mau takes offense, Netty takes offense at Mau taking offense, Brandon and Jorge take offense at Eman and so on and so forth.

Emiliano’s sultry growl interrupts the commotion and he tells Netty he’s filed for divorce. When it goes through he wants to marry her right away.

Ordaz accuses Eman of having more than a friendly relationship with the accused and they all look like this is some big news or something. The bottom line, tell the people of the court, are you and Victoria de la Garza lovers?

183 - Muñeca has fun with Fedra

Pacheco tells Vicky they’re lost, Netty shrieks “tell them you love her!”, and the judge tells Eman to speak up. Eman admits he loves her more than his own life. “See, toldja he’d say anything!” yells Mau, Vicky yells “Liar!”, Eman lunges at Orangey, and the judge calls a recess.

Things are also heating up over at The Good Life. While Andres and Doris are trying to be depressed De and Oli are reaching their boiling points from watching their exes bill and coo with the guanabis. De and Oli nearly mow each other down as they jump up and head full steam to their intended victims. Jairo gets his head thumped on the table, Lorena gets thrown to the floor, Axel chugs his beer and nobody stops the commotion for a good, long time. This is fun, especially the part where De thwacks Lorena over and over.

Low is still yowling about Ilitia behaving like a streetwalker. Donkey, meet ears. Ilitia’s cramps come back and Mami hustles Low out.

Back at the brawl Axel and Andres are now getting into it. Probably not a bad idea for Andres to let off a little steam and who better to be on the receiving end than Axhole? The fights continue to my great enjoyment until finally Fidel and Benigno enter to spoil my fun. Drat. Double Drat to find out they edited these best scenes from the TV Version. Idiots!!

Vicky, her usual ungracious self, accuses Eman of spoiling everything and she never wants to see him again. Poor Eman is heartbroken and Emiliano escorts him from the room while Brandon whistles sarcastically. Well, that didn’t go well.

Low is still bitching to Muñeca that he wants Ilitia outta there pronto before people find out about the low life policeman and start comparing her to _____ Fedra? I couldn’t understand him. Anway, Lioness Muñeca will protect her cub, orders him to stop comparing HER daughter to THAT woman, slaps him a good one and pushes him out of the house. You go girl!!

Back at the courthouse the pointless yelling between Team Vicky and Team Lowlife has resumed. It pains me to say it, but the Rapey Snake comports himself a bit more professionally than our emotional good guys. Nevertheless, Orangey is in Brandon’s sight and we know our hunky and moral super cop is relentless if nothing else.

De and Oli are back at Monster Manse all hyper in the post athletic glow of their successful trouncings. De decides that she will help Oli make Gretel see the truth about him if he does the same for her. Then this talented actress provides us with a delightful demonstration of the various methods of torture that Oli should use to elicit the truth from Alfredo. She enthusiastically strangles Oliver, then there is the shaken mineral water up the nose trick, then a cattle prod in the testicles. They laugh and hug and jump up and down. Why oh why can’t these two get together?

Naturally their fun is interrupted by the dreary duo of Gretel and Axhole who enjoy pointing out that yet again the nacos can’t control their carnal instincts. Yawn.

Andres receives his test results and, as expected, he is HIV positive. Hey, isn’t a doctor or counselor or someone supposed to break the news? Doris comforts him.

Later he pulls out his little black book and makes some difficult phone calls. That’s 20 out of 21 names crossed off his list. He calls Doris, gets her voice mail, and says he’s calling to thank her for everything. She is the first woman he’s ever really loved but it’s too late. Goodbye my love and forgive me. He chugs his glass of wine, sets up a chair, and puts a noose around his neck.

Eman arrives at the cantina and wants to talk to Jose Maria Sevilla alone. JSM calls Eman hijo which pithes Eman off. He has a father of whom he is very proud, Emiliano RydT. Doesn’t matter whose blood runs through his veins, NOBODY can take his place.

JMS says he was in prison almost 30 years, he has nothing and Eman is the only thing he has left in this life. Eman retorts that JMS killed his grandparents. So says your mother, explains JMS, I never. Eman orders him to leave and stay far away.

Cranky Gretel is on the attack and she’s giving Oli an earful. Who’s next. Nereida? Oli says she’s mistaken and anyway he’s not here to try to get her back. He wants Gretel’s help to get justice for her friend. A few more insults but yes, she’ll do what she can to help Delicia.

Brandon tries to convince Comisario Tejeda to fire him so he can get some sort of payout for Javi’s operation. I don’t get how this makes sense. Tejeda agrees that Javi is like a grandson to him but Brandon is his best cop and there’s got to be another way. Hey, he’s arranging a S.W.A.T. team for something tonight and ELdP might show up. Maybe they can trap El Lirio tonight and get the reward! And hey, my grandpa’s got a barn and we can have a show, and...sorry I lost my head.

Fidel and Beni show Eman the newspaper, it says something about the grand emerald tiara of blah blah blah of the sixteenth century. Recently belonging to Arturo Fonseca, the tiara is in town and will be auctioned off tonight. I didn’t get it all, but Eman says with this they’ll kill two birds with one stone. Not sure what the two birds are. JMS peeks around the corner and vows to help Eman so he can protect him.

A perpetually snacking Mari tells Delicia it doesn’t matter if she’s fat or skinny, the man she loves is an impossibility. In fact. she was happier when she was fat. She leaves, runs into Eman, and scolds him for publicly sticking up for Vicky. He gives her chocolates and she gets excited but then says it brings back bad memories. He says he’ll eat one first and she wipes it all over his face and tells him she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Dumb scene, should be cut, we’ll see. (Update: scene left in. Figures.)

Ilitia is back at the mansion and tells Fedra it was all Vicky’s fault that she got stuck in naco-land. Fedra mentions that they are invited to some reception for a precious tiara and Ilitia has to explain to Fedra that a tiara is a kind of crown that a queen wears. “A queen?” Fedra coos, taking a moment for herself, “I’m a queen.” Back on earth she womanhandles Ilitia and tells her to tread carefully for her own good.

Consuelo tells Brandon that Ilitia told her another woman is expecting his baby. Is it true? Not that I know of, he says with the little hamster running full stop. Jorge shows up and Brandon tells him he knows how to keep Eman away from Marvick.

OK folks, part three of this episode and we’re on the home stretch.

JMS is telling Netty that he wants to protect his son Emanuel. Netty is impactada as JMS continues, his son thinks he’s a jailbird and a murderer, that he killed his grandparents. He whinges some more until he keels over with a heart attack. Netty frets over JMS while he moans “Why? Why? I don’t want to die now.” Netty yells for Gladi to call the doctor.

Doris knocks on Andres’ door, she got his message, open up! Andres is inside still fumbling around with his noose.

The tiara is on display. Muñeca, accompanied by Fidel (finally!) gripes that the same people always come to these events, what a bore. I’m liking feisty Muñeca tonight. Enter Low and Fedra with Fedra announcing that her love is going to buy the tiara for her because she’s Una Rrrrrrreina, hisssssssss. “Queen of what?” snickers Muñeca. Fidel is highly amused.

Kristel is oohing and ahhing over the tiara while Orangey explains they are looking for a good price, something about his dad getting it from the Russian mafia.

Eman and Ilitia arrive followed by Tejeda who says that Orangey requested police protection in the event that Some Thief shows up. Brandon and Vicky show up pithing off both Eman and Iliita. Fedra hisses to Low that ever since Mari showed up she has never seen Vicky and Mari in the same place.

Doris yells and urges outside Andres’ door. Andres weepily steps off the chair and...sits down. Doris yells that he’s always been the man of her dreams and she needs him, she loves him. Open door, big hug. He says he’s treated her badly, she deserves better. No s**t Sherlock. More PSA talk. She says let’s go away for the weekend. Let’s move on.

The rapey snake starts the bidding, first Eman, then Low, then to pith him off Muñeca bids half a million dollars, Fedra’s in a snit and, to Low’s utter dismay, bids a million dollars. Point to Muñeca on this one. Sold to Fedra for a million dollars! She hustles up on stage, puts the tiara on, looks up, and...El Lirio de Plata!

Brandon pulls his gun, aims at the rafters and announces that Eman RydT can’t be El Lirio! Vicky runs into the fray begging Brandon not to shoot. During the hubbub Spiderman El Lirio drops down, plucks the tiara off of La Rrrrreina’s curly locks, and quickly rises back up into the rafters. Shooting ensues and Tejeda calls for backup. Eman mocks Brandon for losing his man yet again.

Mañana: El Lirio has a double. Alfredo gets busted. JMS flatlines. Vicky hides El Lirio in a locker and Brandon and Tejeda shoot it full of holes causing Vicky to have a hissy fit.

Vocab:

Teresa Thu 3/31/11 #2 No more humiliations

(Caray needs recappers for this telenovela; thanks to Aribeth for the title and screen caps! See briefs from Aribeth and Vivi below -- thank you!)

From Aribeth:
So. What we learned last night?

- Mariano was Teresa's first boyfriend and she's still in love with him.
- From the first episode: Mariano's mom died because they couldn't afford her medical treatments.
- Mariano used to study medicine but he had to drop out of school (because of his mother's illness). Teresa left him because she can't be with someone who doesn't have ambitions.
- Rosita loves her sister but she's jealous of her because Teresa's their father's favourite child.
- She has to forget her dreams, however, her sister encourages her to keep exercising. Teresa has no idea about Rosa's medical problem, but it's a tragic situation nevertheless.
- Teresa's classmates are snobbish jerks.
- Juana knows Teresa's darker side, though she doesn't know everything about her.
- Cutberto is cute.
- There was no hot prof in this episode. Qué pena.

I don't blame Aída for telling the truth about Teresa, but the way she did it and the way their friends and classmates reacted were disgusting. Fortunately I'm not poor, but when I meet people like them (born with a silver spoon in the mouth, they know nothing about reality), my inner bitch wants to slap them hard.

I loved when Mariano told Teresa that her beloved classmates, the rich kids are nobodies - they are where they are because their parents are important people.

From Vivi:

Yes, Teresa does have some memorable lines. I think we'll get lots of great put down lines from her, as well as a lot of "As God as my witness, I'll never go hungry again!" moments.

So it seems that at one point Teresa was two-timing Mariano. She and Mariano broke up a year ago after his mom died and he had to drop out of med school and become a taxi driver. But she has been dating Paulo for TWO years. Tsk, tsk Teresa.

I love how Mariano ran up the stairs after Teresa and her godmother when he saw her enter the vecinidad crying. But he didn't push it and try to go in and find out what happened. I kind of pictured him just sitting outside the door sending his moral support and love. I also loved how he took care of business with Paulo, told Teresa what he thought of her rich "friends", and then forced her into his cab and into her seatbelt. He's no pushover, but he's sweet and caring.

Did we find out who broke up with whom? I am assuming it's Teresa who did the breaking up. But she's the one who's always close to kissing him and giving him longing looks, while he tries to remain stoic. We also saw her looking at their photo.

We keep seeing how Teresa hardens herself little by little. Last night she made the decision to use her looks and youth to reach her goal. It's funny how her parents are worried that this professor will take advantage of their baby, when it's the other way around! Watch out Professor! :)

Poor Rosita. The future looks grim for our Tiny (Rythmic) Dancer. Especially from the show promos. I bet Teresa will feel guilty about encouraging little sis to keep dancing. It looks as if medical issues, and the debt poor people fall into because of medical bills, will be a recurring theme. Mariano's mom; the neighbor boy who's been running a fever; and now little Rosita. The topic is actually very relevant to an American audience too, as medical expenses are the number one reason why families fall into debt, and the main reason why so many have pushed for healthcare reform. Perhaps once she becomes a lawyer, Teresa will prosecute some huge malpractice case.
