Amores Verdaderos #123 Fri 5/3/13 Betty's Dilemma and Acepto o no Acepto?

This recap will not be in order. I have divided the recap in half. First part is Betty's Dilemma and the second part is Acepto o No Acepto dealing with the wedding.

Part One: Betty's Dilemma
We have Betty at the Mall Security office, about to be hauled off to the Delegation. She is very upset and in handcuffs. She begs the officers to call her Mom to pick up Guillo and then to take the cuffs off so she can talk to Guillo. Seems they are taking Guillo to a temporary shelter for children. Betty is very upset and explains to Guillo what is going on. She has to go with these men to explain why that necklace ended up in her purse. As soon as she's done she promises to pick him up. The poor boy is crying this whole time. She tells him she loves him and then they are hauling her off to the Delegation. She keeps asking where they will be taking her son. Of course, there is leo the low, watching as they haul Betty off, it takes two cops cars, really???? Poor Betty isn't a serial bank robber, jus' sayin. Anyhoo, leo is saying there goes his torment and she'll regret the day she was born. Cast Iron Skillet Huge Please for this putz!!!!!!

Betty is now at the Delegation pleading her innocence but the cops tell her then how did that necklace end up in your bag? Facts don't lie in other words. Betty is still swearing she is innocent, it  would be a bad example for her son, to steal. The cops aren't buying it, they've seen Mothers use children to steal before, but Betty insists she isn't one of them and someone must have put that necklace in her purse. So now they will take her statement to initiate the investigation and she has 48 hours to find a lawyer, and prove her innocence. If not they decide if she goes to a rehabilitation center (la carcel) in Santa Marta Catitla. Ohhhh, boy. She wants to know when she should be back, uh, she's in custody. Betty is sooo very upset. I hope the putz dies. This is too much for our poor Betty. After she gives her statment they are taking her to la carcel.

Qué Bonito Amor #15 (Mex 22-23.1) Friday 5/3/13 Let the Cat and Mouse Games Begin!

What’s a little plotting amongst frenemies, right?

Lo del Pasado:

Santos runs into Maria on the Street and gets balled out for leaving without saying good-bye first, but he’s sweet talked her out of being mad at him, pretending nothing like that ever happened, nor would it; Fernando is angry that Santos has not told Maria the truth yet and Elvira and El Coloso have got a plan to mousetrap JAntos in a honey trap so that Maria will become angry and break up with him.

Lo Del Nuevo:

JAntos is arguing with Mil Amores about hotfooting it out of the country and leaving Maria alone in Mexico once his name is cleared at the trial the next day in L.A.  JAntos suddenly is worried that he’s going to be outed by Mil Amores to Coloso, who catches them arguing in the dressing room, but at the last second Fernando makes a joke of the situation.  “—Curiosity killed the cat!”  He tells Coloso that it’s between him and Vargas, period.

At the same time, La Vampira de Elvira struts her stuff into the bar along with her two BFF’s.  They take a table and she heads to Daddy’s office to get some quick cash for din-din.  She notes his office door is locked with Mirna and him inside this time.  She knocks.  El Concho has to race to wipe the telltale lipstick off his face.  Elvira’s wise to Daddy’s subterfuge and wheedles the cash from her papi.  Oh, BTW, she mentions to EC, her car’s been having mechanical problems and they’ll need to take it to the dealership the next day.

JAntos goes into the guys’ dressing room and gets grief from Coloso for not coming up with a better excuse than the flu when he decides tos kip work the next time.  They nearly come to blows over it, but Susanito manages to keep JA from losing it and getting into fisticuffs over it.  Mil walks in then and gets grief for missing also.  He almost loses it also but one of the guys holds him back.  The show must go on and they head out to the stage for the set.  Coloso reminds JAntos again that he’s low man on the totem pole.  “—Even dogs have breeds [raza=breed, pedigree, race]!  I go out first and you come after me!”

If that weren’t enough, he walks into the hallway and Desira stops him and whispers sweet nothings into his ear just as Leti walks back from the stage area.  Leti sees the two of them and gets the wrong idea.  She is miffed and she warns JAntos to be careful and then struts off.  Santos wonders if he has a “kick me” sign stuck on his backside or what.

The set starts and Coloso dedicates the song he’s singing to his best friend from north of the border.  The song starts and some of the words’ double meaning are directed to JA.  Then to top it off Coloso grabs Maria and manhandles her, then ends the song with what looks like big smooch on her mouth from JA’s part of the stage; and Coloso’s done it especially to aggravate him.  Mil Amores sticks his guitar in JAntos’ way and signals for him to cool his jets and let it go already, so as not to wreck the show and get them fired at the same time.  It doesn’t work for long, tho’.  Coloso snickers over the Mike and teases JA.  “—Hey, Jorgito, did you like the song?”  He pulls a Bart Simpson and races around the room when JAntos jumps the stage, trying futilely to catch the S.O.B.  Santos nearly does, but then he’s frustrated when some fat lady jumps in the way and starts dancing with him.  The crowd is thrilled and laughing cuz they don’t realize this is not part of the act.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the city, one of La Vampira de Desira’s friends disconnects a wire to the battery or something in order to make the car appear to be broken down.  Desira calls her daddy and whines that she is stuck in the middle of some bad neighborhood with a broken down car and needs him to send a mechanic.  El Concho says he’ll have to come cuz there’s no way he’ll find one this time of night.

He races into the hall to find Coloso and JA circling each other for another cock fight.  EC tells Coloso to take the cash and give the employees their pay for him since he’s got to race off to get his daughter since her car broke down.  Coloso immediately suggests that JA can fix her car and to send him to do it.  Concho tells JA they’d be even Steven for everything if he’d do him that favor for his daughter and then bring her back home to him safe and sound.  Santos doesn’t have a choice.  He follows Concho out of the hallway to find out where she is supposedly stranded.  Coloso giggles to himself.  His plan is working like a charm!

Apparently Rodrigo is worried about getting expelled since he’s only on probation at this school.  He has a nightmare about it and yells himself awake.  FF>>

In L.A., Com. Derecho calls Lt. Curtis from a sound sleep to remind her that the trial for Santos’s two buddies is the next morning.  How could she forget she asks him. (If you want more detail, too bad, cuz the scene is so dumb it’s an insult to anybody with a triple-digit I.Q. and an irritating waste of our time.  Yawn.) FF FF>>

Santos’s daddy, Justo, has been Reading through the legal files that Giuliano El Gusano [the worm] gave him regarding Santos’s case.  He has found a couple of contradictions in Bruno’s statements to the police.  Neither Altagracia nor he think Wendy will testify in Santos’s behalf because she doesn’t believe her brother is innocent (and, of course, because she still thinks it was his fault that her wedding had to be cancelled.)  Justo would hope she, as his sister, would stand by Santos.  She’s probably backing up Bruno’s statements any way she can, figures Gracia, cuz “—A woman in love is capable of doing anything.”  (I think that’s the gist of it?)  Wendy is having second thoughts about which side she’ll take and agreeing to throw her bro under the bus to save Bruno’s bacon.  She is in bed remembering her conversation with their family attorney and (Viewerville hopes) guiltily crying her eyes out.

Back in Mexico City, JAntos arrives at the place where Desira and her buds have been sitting and waiting.  He immediately sees what’s wrong and reconnects the wire.  He tells Desira he suspects she was up to something.  The car’s fixed and there really wasn’t anything wrong with it was there.  Desira admits to being a bit mischievous and then invites him to a party, but he says nope, he’s promised her daddy to fix the car and to take her home safe and sound for him; that’s what he plans to do.

Back in the girls’ dressing room, Leti and Annie (?) tell Maria that they think JA is two-timing her with Elvira.  Maria finds it difficult to believe, but Leti says she just saw Elvira flirting with him in the hallway.  “—He didn’t seem to mind it in the least, either.”  Maria says his being jealous over Coloso’s song and kissing her doesn’t add up if he’s got an interest in Elvira.  “--Maybe he didn’t realize the kiss was faked?”

Desira teases him while her friends slip a Mickey into a shot glass and have him drink.  She promises if he has one drink with them then she might let him take her home.  She takes the wheel and drives wildly on her way, but she is not headed home.  That’s for sure!  He’s feeling woozy just about the time she races her little Beamer convertible through a street repairs site and get three cop cars chasing them.  Eventually she manages to lose them.  By that time JA has blacked out.  She stops the car so her friend can take posed pictures of her kissing Jorge Alfredo on her cell and then send them to Coloso’s phone so he can use them to screw over JA and break Maria and him up.

Back at the bar, Roxana arrives alone and takes a table.  Annie comes for her order.  Roxie asks for Fernando to come to her table.  Annie says she’ll deliver the message to him.

Back in the lounge backstage Maria’s looking for JA.  Coloso tells her he’s gone to a party with Elvira, but not to worry about him losing his job because her daddy gave him permission to go with her.  Maria tells him she doesn’t believe a word of it and uh, BTW, the next time he uses her during one of their scenes for one of his little boyish games like that she’ll slap him upside the head, senseless!   Coloso says if she doesn’t believe him then to ask Mil cuz he and JA have been thick as thieves lately, telling each other their little secrets.  She looks over at Fernando.  “--What kind of little secrets?”  Annie stands in the doorway yelling for Fernando just then and he races off to Roxie’s table before he gets stuck in Coloso’s quicksand.

Roxie tells Mil that she’s divorcing her husband to be with him now.  Ruh-roh!  She lays a major lip-lock on him before he has a chance to process or protest.  Annie looks on from the back of the room and fights back her tears.  One other person has been watching the two of them smooch also—one of Hubby’s henchmen!!!  Double Ruh-roh!!

And, speaking of illicit lip-locks, Coloso gets the photos just as Maria, Leti and Annie are leaving for home.  He tells her he’s got proof now that Jorge Alfredo is not the pure little lamb she thinks he is and then shows her the picture of La Vampira supposedly driving her tongue down JA’s throat.  Maria is saucer-eyed impactado.

By the time Santos comes to, Desira and friends are dancing and chugging the night away in some park off the road to Cuernavaca with a bunch of guys they invited from wherever they found ‘em.

Back at the bar, Maria now asks Coloso who sent him the photos.  Coloso tells her it was Elvira’s friends.  Naïve little Maria has tears streaming down her face.  “—You really like to hurt me, don’t you!  Happy now?”  No, he only wanted her to realize what a real dirt wad the guy really was.   “—He’s the type who gets it from wherever he can.  He just follows the money.”  El Col starts to put the moves on Maria but she stops him cold.  “—I think you’re despicable!  Thank you for breaking my heart this way!”  She races away and out the door.  The bar tender and Shorty, the waiter, tell Coloso he’s really gone over the line this time.  Mil walks in on this and gripes at him, too (with some remark about puff pastry)  over the dirty tricks he’s been playing on the two of them.  Coloso insults him saying he doesn’t know who loves the pochito more, Mil Amores or Maria.  Mil slugs him over it and a full out brawl erupts.  Unfortunately, the barkeep gets in the middle and gets the worst of it. (If this is comic relief then it must be a question of what “is” is.) FF>>

JAntos decides enough is enough and tells Elvira the party’s over and they’re going back.  She just guzzles more tequila from the bottle she’s been carrying like a security blanket.  She asks him just how he thinks he’s going to get her there, by force?  (Personally, I’d land a well-aimed right hook, throw her over my shoulder and pitch her into the trunk.)  He starts back up the road then.  She tells him it’s his neck if something happens to her after he’s gone off and left her.

Leti, Annie and Maria head back to the colonia through the barrio and stop for corn on the cob.  Maria still can’t understand how JA could have gone partying with Elvira, let alone kissed her.  Annie tells her it’s cuz he’s like all men—out for what they can get.  It’s slam-bam-thankya-mam and thanks for the mammaries.   Leti tells her to can it cuz she’s starting to sound like a broken record.  Yeah, well if he loved her like he says, she insists, then what’s he doing swapping spit with Desira for?  Cara de maybe she’s got a point de Maria.

El’s friends run after JA and tell him it’s like way too far for a casual evening stroll back to the D.F.  He’s got to take Desira back home in her car cuz there aren’t any taxi’s out this way; and anyway they’re off to Cuernevaca with the guys they picked up.  Some friends you are, he says, totally disgusted with the Sluts R Us attitude.  No different than she, they say.  Elvira’s the type who always takes advantage of people and they’re just giving her a bit of tit for tat.  They jump into the guy’s shiny red truck and wave.  He walks back to the party.  Elvira blacks out and falls into his arms.  He drags her back to her car and gets her in.

Once Mil and Coloso have tired themselves out, they laugh over the fight and are BFF again.

El Concho gets home pretty late and Lourdes lights into him for fooling around with other women instead of her.  She takes her robe off and asks him angrily what have they got that he can’t find at home any more???

Maria’s starting to wonder the same thing.  She goes to JA’s place and finds out from Dona Pru that he’s still not back home yet.  She’s starting to think the worst, of course, by now.

Dona Pru tells Maria JA is obviously so in love with her.  Maria’s starting to wonder and leaves a message that she dropped by after work to check how he was doing.  Dona Pru says she’ll be sure to give it to him. JAntos drives La Vampira back to the city, but can’t get her to give him the address for El Concho’s house since she’s too busy crawling all over him anyway.  He ends up calling the bar to get Fernando’s cell number from Pichi.

Coloso and Weight Lifter Guy are having midnight tacos out.  Col tells WLG that he won’t stop hassling El Pochito Ese till he and Maria have broken up for good.  WLG tells him all he has to do is wait for the guy to leave on his own and that way he can at least stay on Maria’s good side.  Col says that’s not the way he wants to do it.  Besides, he wants to find out what it is that Mil Amores and JA are being so chummy over.

By the time JAntos gets hold of Mil, Elvira’s fast asleep.  He sure as hell doesn’t want to risk waking her again.  He tries to explain where he is and asks for directions but won’t go into why or how he got there.  Mil tells him something about taking a number of right turns till he hits a round about/town square/ or a bower (take your pick) and the rest of it we assume.  Santos struggles to get her back over in her seat and to drive back to the city in the dark.  The way it’s going he may not get back before daylight or breakfast, even……

Qué Bonito Amor #14 (Mex 20.2-21) Thursday 5/2/13 Que Bonitas Lagrimas…y Lagrimas…y aun mas Lagrimas….

My DVR doesn't get the very beginning, so the first thing I see is Don Concho declaring to Maria that he's going to dock Jorge Alfredo not 1, but 2 days salary and next time, he's fired.  Colosso and Mirta both approve of this.

Out in the hallway, Maria is pissed at Colosso for giving Jorge Alfredo a hard time.  Colosso defends himself, saying that he's a man of his word…he even calls in one of the guys for confirmation…and since he promised he would make Jorge Alfredo's life hell until he left, he's just keeping his word. Never let it be said that Colosso doesn't keep his word.  Maria calls him jealous…"of him, of his voice, and because you know I love him!  But no one can separate us!"  Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Back in LA, Wendy meets Orange Giulius.  OG tells her that her dad insists on defending Santos, which is putting her beloved Bruno at risk.  He advises her not to warn her father that she knows what's up.  If she's ok with going against her family, OG can tell her how to play it.  "On the day of the hearing, walk into the courtroom and do exactly this…."

Santos/Jorge Alfredo is packing.

Ana places an order in the kitchen, then asks Fernando why he's moping around.  She asks if one of his lovers cheated on him and he replies that if she's going to love him, could she love him in silence, please?  Ana takes great offense and says women like her don't go for rats like him!  Fernando thought bubbles that Santos had them all fooled.

Amores Verdaderos #122 Thu 5/2/13 Drama. Drama. Drama!

I found this gem on Facebook. It says: Screw Nikki, I’ll marry Arriaga.

* Lo refrito: will Victoria discover her bare naked husband in the Kendho’s den? * Lo nuevo: of course she won’t because she’s too busy with giving a beautiful necklace to the vixen. As soon as Vicky is out of sight, Nelson starts whining: phew, that was close, it could’ve ruined the wedding of his daughter! *Viewerville: massive side eyes, dude, you should’ve thought about that earlier, doncha think?*

PEAM # 39- The Return of the Prodigal Employee to Avon!

We start off at Orion, with Jesus, guilt tripping the corrupt sillies.  He is leaving Orion because being with dishonest work place goes against his grain.  As he hands his cell phone back it is ringing, he, receives a call from Alma, telling him that Avon won the certification, thanks to him.  He is Alma’s hero!!!  If you were in front of me, Jesus, I would grab you and kiss you, yes I would.  Oh sorry, that’s Alma speaking.
Papa wants to know- who would you grab and kiss???
Jesus bids the crowd from Orion adieu and another silly lets the 2 corrupt sillies (Eugenio and Simon) know that Max, el jefe wants to see them and that they won’t get tat fat commission because Avon won.  The sillies apologize to Jesus. The crowd honors Jesus for his integrity.
Alma tells Papa that thanks to Jesus they won the certification.  Papa wants to know who is this Jesus?  He was her old secretary.  Papa tires to trip Alma up by asking, if this secretary helped you in everything, why does he work with the competition?  Papa gets it, but what he doesn’t get is their relationship. What type of relationship do they have if she would grab him and kiss him?  Jesus didn’t ask for anything but Papa if you want to put a dirty twist to this story, bring it. What’s going on with the wedding, Alma want to know what is papa’s interest?? There is a wedding planner and everything is going according to plan. Alma knows Papa all too well he is too manipulative to appear out of the blue, as a surprise. Alma got a little indignant but apologized.  Sooner or later she will find out what he is up to.  Papa looks a little worried.

At Chatita’s Bed and Breakfast- she is serving Elias a delicious looking stew that she offers as hot chocolate but she doesn’t have any chocolate.  Hmmm.  Elias tells her his tales of woe, he worked for the agency for 10 years and now he is fired.  His first failure.  He loves the stew.  He goes on about his blank creative slate, and Chatita can relate. His case will go to arbitration because it was unfair. Marta the therapist calls. She asks Elias how is he? He is on Bitter Street, it’s a long story, and his battery is dying.  Marta suggests seeing Elias for a session, but it appears to be a session of love.  It’s against all of her ethical codes.  They make a nice match.
Jessica is asking Xochy if she is psychologically ready for tonight.  (The two of them sound like psychos!!)Jessica has given Xochy all of her sexy tips except for one detail.  Hmm- pass by her house for a little costume and then Xochy screeches like a fool seeing Jesus. He lets them know that he resigned and does not have a job, he resigned from Orion.
Chatita asks Elias about his salary.  He gets paid as a freelance worker.  She doesn’t get it.  Speaks in circles and brings up that the bank came to try to foreclose on Jesus’ apartment
Jesus explains his story while all of the secretaries gather around him.  Discua is the only secretary who understands why Jesus left the other company.  Papa introduces himself to Jesus.  Papa is trying to size him up.  Alma asks what is going on here?  And everyone scatters like roaches back to their desks.  He leaves his box at Xochy’s desk.  I wish that he would keep giving her hope because she takes it the wrong way.
Elias tells Chatita that Jesus resigned from Orion.
Jesus and Alma joke over the size of the diamond that he will buy the woman that he loves while holding a giant paperweight.  Jesus tells Alma that he can’t work for a shady company and now is jobless.  Alma doesn’t have a position at this time.  Jesus is hopeful that he will find employment soon.  Yep, right here at Avon.  We are thankful that you helped us win the certification and commission.  We owe you!  We are friends and friends support through good and bad.
Rogue has a hissy fit along with palpitations upon seeing Jesus.  Alma explains why Jesus is jobless.  Rogue credits himself with getting Jesus the job but Alma corrects him. Jesus saved Maximo’s life. Jesus can work in Rogue’s office but Discua has the position.  Jessica is too happy to spread the gossip about Jesus’ return and that since Discua was the last hired she will be the first to leave.  Ferny is not too happy to hear that his Discua may be jobless.  He is not celebrating Jesus’ return.
Jesus doesn’t want to take anyone’s job and stupid Ferny bursts into Alma’s office putting his foot in his mouth and Jesus losing his job whining about Discua losing her job.  If Discua leaves so does Ferny. What an idiot!!  Alma lets Ferny know that no one is taking Discua’s job.  There are no positions at Avon but Alma says that they owe Jesus.  The Brothers Dumb are beside themselves.  Alma is clear- Avon owes Jesus.!!!

Sebastian approaches Susana and asks, how has she been and about her husband.  He is a sick, suffering from the consequences of years of smoking   I hope that he doesn’t have to heart surgery, like I did?? They seem to be pining for each other?????  He has a new heart that h keeps beating for the woman that he loves.  Hmmmm???  Call me Sebastian and drop the don.  According to Susana, their love would be impossible, so since it’s a novela, let’s see.
Cardenas is looking at pictures of Jessica on his cell, and Alma enters, he jumps and throws the cell phone, pictures and all into Alma’s hands.  She hands him new employee cell phones to give out.  Cardenas has found a cut-rate for the phones. His mother calls while he is talking to Alma.  Alma asks if there is any vacant position for Jesus, who has resigned form Orion.  He will be her personal assistant.  He will work directly under Alma making 10% more than the secretaries.  Rogue is NOT to know. Rogue is going to love that!!!  Alma lets him know that Jessica is not his type and that he deserves better
Papa realizes that Jesus is nothing easy and is a good rival but Papa is on Rogue’s side.
Xochy and Jesus share some small talk about the possibility of Jesus working at Avon.
While the Ice Princess is meditating, Little Valentina is wondering why she can’t reach Papa Elias or Papa Jesus on their cells. Vero calls the hotel and can’t reach Elias.  He has checked out. Perhaps he is on his way home.  Valentina is ecstatic.  She is happily screeching but it is not dreadful like Xochy.  The Ice Princess looks worried.
Alma playfully gives Jesus the good news about his new position.  Ferny makes up a story to Discua about how he scared his brother with an authoritative tone, he dominates his brother with a look and then when Rogue overhears, Ferny takes his foot once again out of his mouth.  Rogue lets them know that Jesus will be Alma’s personal assistant.  Discua feels that Rogue should come to their meetings and feel the light.
While watching black and white TV- Elias’ cell rings and Chatita answers her phone. looking for the ringing phone. Vero reaches Elias and asks if he is on his way home because he checked out of the hotel, he checked out because his credit card was declined, he was fired from the publicity agency because he can’t concentrate.  She insults him, he is no one without a job and being the Ice Princess, that she is she focuses on where he will sleep instead of trying to help her partner who is down.  She allows him to return home but, no thanks. They start arguing over the phone and Chatita lets Elias know that he still loves Vero.

Amores Verdaderos #121 Wed 5/1/13 It takes a village ... to marry off a very rich child

It's too soon in our story for a Happy Ever After wedding, but just the right time for a Holy Moly, Granny, She's Gonna Blow! kind of event.  So tonight, as we watch the elaborate and costly preparations for the wedding of Nikki and Roy, we see past the sunlight to the storm clouds.  And more ominous still, we see Leo resurface, burning with hatred, lusting for revenge!

A scenic overlook -- corny but lovely
Nikki ignores her own feelings, her mother's advice and the pleas of the man she really loves.  She can't hate Guzmán, she says, but there's no future for them. [But the important thing is she looks like a million bucks.  And she cries so pretty.]

Rolando's late night visit
Lili remembers who she is [Yay, Lili!].  She tells Rollie to cool it: she's not going to provoke something [dar pie a algo] that isn't going to happen.  Her first time is going to be something special, something to remember.  Roy understands.  And he's sad about leaving -- who knows for how long.  He'll miss her.

Whoa.  Something is happening to Roy's eyes.  Are those tears?  Yes!  And when Lili tells him not to worry because she'll be waiting for him, he is a goner. A fool for love.  "Don't ever forget me, Lili!"  "I won't!"

PEAM #38- 5/1/13: Mata Hari, Hare Krishna, Hara-Kiri?

Recap By Pablo:

It's Nov 6th (12:30-1:30pm)

Mati Hari:
All is fair in war and love, so Rogelio joins Jessica in order to find out more of what is going on between Fernando and Discua, Jesús and Xóchitl and everything else that has been happening under his radar. Of course Jessica drops, almost ''by accident'', that Alma is dining with the ''secretario''. From now on, Jessica will be Rogelio's eyes and ears in the office.

Rogelio invites his father-in-law-to-be to eat at LA GUACAMAYA (restaurant #3 in Monterrey) and to ask for help against Jesús, now that Fernando has declared he no longer does evil, thinks no evil, speaks no evil. Don Sebastián highlights the fact that if Alma is turning her sight somewhere else, it's because Rogelio is not doing what he should be doing!

At Avon, while eating,  the menu that doesn't include the now famous carrot cake as dessert, the secretaries decide at last to help Xóchitl, and Jessica will be the ''coach'' teaching her how to keep a man by her side and happy under the sheets (something she failed at with Fernando, but juárever), she is the only one who offers her help. But as we all know, when Xóchitl goes with the milk, Jessica has gone and come back with the cheese, TWO TIMES!!, so when she says, Xóchitl, you need to open, and then pauses to finally say ''your mind'', I am sure we were all thinking something else... Jessica did it on purpose to tease her friend (and us by the way).

Qué Bonito Amor #13 (Mex 19-20.1) Wednesday 5/1/13

Note: Until we start getting standard episodes, I will dispense with the usual divisions of review, present, and preview.

Capitulo 19: The Consequences of Amor, Part 1

JNTR: To the sound of our dear Don Chente singing the title song, Maria walks down the lighted pathway through the club, up the stairs, and to the roof where she finds another rose and the shawl draped over the gramophone that probably once belonged to Quentin Collins. We hear an old record playing that is implied is that of Maria's father. She turns around to see Jorge Alfredo take off the sombrero on the approach. They kiss to the sound of a couple singing “Qué Bonito Amor” and this begins to feel like a Hollywood romance from the 60s. We see that the next Norman Bates Susanito is the one dropping the rose petals on them. Jorge Alfredo suddenly pulls back his right hand and he is bleeding from a splinter. Susanito teases him that working as a cargador would do that. Maria tells him he didn't have to make this sacrifice for her. However, he is not concerned with what it takes to show his love.

Garza Mansion: Justo demands to know what proof the police have. Commandante Derecho and Curtis tell him they have photos of Santos living it up in Mexico City. They know where to find him and won't rest until they get him. [Since we don't see the photo we wonder how this man is so sure.]

Amores Verdaderos #120 Tue 4/30/13 The Letter and not much else

Amores Verdaderos Cap 120, 4-30-13—The Letter and not much else

Lo siento, a quickie recap which I'll hopefully flesh out later. Some highlights based on a flawed memory, plus a few screencaps. Hopefully more of those too later.

* Nikki is trying to be nice to Lili as Lili tends to her plants. But Nikki is an idiot and can't quite contain her snobby for too long. When Lili sweetly offers a plant for the wedding ceremony, Nikki says no, we're getting the best florist in the city to do the flowers, and besides, you don't realize it, but you still have too much Country Bumpkin in you to do the job! (Or something!) Can I just bop her over the head now? Anyway, the important part of the conversation is when Lili admits that while she really loved the Little Gorilla, it was hopeless and she's got this new guy now and he's a sweetie. (VOMIT!) Nikki is affected by this, and seems to be wondering if it's possible to get over Guzmancito.

* The Little Gorilla is venting to Big Angel how he knows Nikki loves him, but she's so thick-skulled she won't admit it. Even Victoria knows and would prefer him for a son-in-law over Roy the Boy! In the middle of this, Salsa-Dude comes into the bodyguard salon and overhears. Uh-oh. But Salsa-Dude seems more or less sympathetic. They start to talk about how somehow Kendra-Ho is behind it, she's vowed to mess things up for Guzman. Salsa-Dude almost lets slip how well he knows Kendra-Ho, but is able to back down a little from that so the other bodyguards don't figure it all out. They all agree that the Ho is a HO. Big Angel wonders aloud if maybe Vikki would kick the Ho out of the house if it was discovered that she was carrying the FF's baby? You think?

Everyone has dirt on everyone else, it seems.

* Cande goes to see Anyballs to read him the riot act about what he did to poor Adriana and her baby. She doesn't, of course, admit that she knows where Adriana's baby is! Anyballs gives his typical B.S. about how he did what was best. She is disgusted with him. He admits that he's using that strand of hair that he "accidentally" snagged off of Lili to confirm that the ADN is legit. Cande is outraged that he'd doubt  her word. Whatever . . . we know what the ADN will show, don't we?

Qué Bonito Amor #12 (Mex 17.2-18) Tuesday 4/30/13 Que Dices Bonita? Dices Que Sí?

Capitulo 17 Parte 2 & 18

Lo de ayer and Lo de hoy is all mixed up with Lo de mañana and Lo que no pasó, so it's all in a single narrative.  Apologies for the recap being so long.

[Jorge Alfredo made it to Maria’s and La Dama del Queso will leave you with Urban Anthropologist’s beautiful words describing Jorge and Maria’s declarations of love, followed by a really nice kiss.]

Maria’s Apartment
Scarlet tells Rhett Maria tells Jorge that – As much as you love me, you will never love me as much as I love you.  He tells her that he shouldn’t have fallen in love with her, because he’ll have to leave, but he loves her and he will come back for her.  She tells him that she shouldn’t love him either, but she loves him, and has since the first day he walked into the bar and when he made that phone call, she heard what he said about her.  He’s amazed, and what was it she heard?  That she’s an angel and those eyes….  He says, because she is—and is someone who despite having so little can give so much.

Overcome with emotion Jorge Alfredo drops to one knee [and Viewerville is thinking, this is waaay too soon] and asks if Maria would be his novia [whew, not a marriage proposal, but it’s still too soon].  She hesitates, only so we can get close-ups of her answer, sí, quiero ser tu novia.  [Ah, first love, it just carries you away, well it’ll carry Jorge Alfredo away at the very least.] He asks rhetorically, even though I will have to leave you and don’t know when I’ll be back?  For nothing in the world would I trade a minute of happiness to be by your side [sigh], she replies.

This very romantic interlude is rudely interrupted by some very enthusiastic foreplay between Elvira and Celoso, right on the living room coffee table which was cleared with one sweep of the hand.  Celoso stops, takes a breath and, we’re hoping, what—that he will or that he won’t, since either choice will mean bad times ahead for our main lovebirds. He picks Elvira up and as she calls him her gallito, roosters crow and he carries her off to his nidito (little nest).

A la Romeo and Juliet, we have ‘parting is such sweet sorrow’ as dawn breaks over the vecindario. JA says goodnight, my love, sleep, rest. He’ll be back to get her in the morning to take her to her classes.  She doesn’t think she’ll be able to sleep, this being the most important night of her life.  JA makes a slight correction, the most important night of our lives is when, *all together now, Viewerville,* no one and nothing can ever separate us, and when I return to be able to wake up every morning in your arms [didn’t Rogelio say this to Ana Paula, the two timing b@*#ard].

Next morning Amalia is aghast when she finds out that Jorge Alfredo declared himself to Maria last night and that she accepted to be his novia. Maria says it’s the best decision she's made in her life. [I think this means it’s an exclusive relationship and Celoso is not going to take it graciously, or won’t take himself por vencido.] Cute little Isa is spying on this conversation. Even though he’ll be leaving?  Mama, that’s all the more reason to be novios, they don’t have much time and she wants to spend what time they do have together.  Mama is just not with the program.  She tells Maria that there is something about Jorge Alfredo she doesn’t like, she doesn’t trust him, he’s hiding something.  She just can’t accept him as her beau.  Maria says she’s within her rights to feel that way, but she needs to accept *her* decision.  Amalia is not convinced.

Hollywood, LOL, L.A.
Altagracia has come to see Michael in jail.  She apologizes, after an emotional embrace, that she couldn’t come any sooner as Justo had forbidden her to come. Michael is like a son to them and a brother to Santos, so she just had to, to get his side of the story.  Michael assures her that Santos is innocent of the fraud and money laundering charges (and whatever else Comm. Derecho digs up).  It would be impossible for him to do any harm.  It had to be a trap. They tried to kill him when he was in Tijuana. That’s why he fled to Mexico City.  Mexico City? Alta repeats (a little louder please, so the guards can hear you), Santos went to Mexico City (ok, now they probably heard you). He’s still in danger, Mike tells her.

Back in the Barrio
Jorge is singin’ in the sunshine.  He’s at Oh Happy Day, except it’s all in Spanish, as Irasema watches bemused.  He’s in a good mood today, what happened?  Well, he took her advice and Doña Prudencia’s and declared his love to Bonita and she responded.  She tells him she’s happy for him and that La Bonita is fortunate to have such an upstanding young man by her side.  JA wants to know if she has anyone, boyfriend, partner? No, sadly, who would look at someone like her.  JA says she has a good heart and surely there is someone for her.  He doesn’t dilly-dally because he’s got places to go and things to do.

Now we see Jorge knocking on a door we know is not Maria’s nor probably Celoso’s.  Ah, he asks for Braulio and mistakes the maid for his wife.  (Well, what did he know, don’t all wives in DF wear braids and aprons?)  He’s come to pay the back rent for Maria, all of it. Surprised to see him, Braulio does take it and counts it.  It comes with strings, JA intimates. Braulio is not to bother either mujer any more.  Well, he may if they don’t pay on time.  Jorge Alfredo announces that from now on, *he* is taking over payments and Braulio can be assured it will always be on time—so, no, bothering Amalia and Maria any more.  [Ay de mi, Jorge, it’s obvio you deal with honest folks and contracts are sealed with no more than a handshake—but why didn’t you ask for a receipt?]

Amalia is walking Isa to school.  Isa is complaining about not being able to go to the park because of her low math grades.  Amalia says she’s being punished and that is the way it’ll be.  They run into JA (on his way to pick up Maria) and in a leap of genuine affection, Isa rushes into his arms for a hug.  Then he finds out why she’s being punished.  He volunteers to help her with her math lessons.  Amalia looks on, so, in addition to being a mechanic, a ranchero singer and who knows what else, he can tutor in math? Coloso was right to talk about him, she says.  Isa has begged for an ice pop and is gone so the adults can have a serious convo about his intentions with Maria.

But first we go back to Susanito’s barrio to watch the “boys” playing a little pick-up soccer and a little pick-up about their very first loves.  Celoso starts reminiscing about his first and lost love, Gloria [hmmm, where have we heard *that* name before] and then they turn on Susanito and start teasing him.  Tongue-tied, he blurts out that his first love was, wait for it, his mother—and he runs off.

Jorge Alfredo doesn’t know what Celoso told Amalia about him. They talked about not hurting her daughter.  He wants her to know he tried to live up to his promise to leave Maria alone, but he hurt her trying to separate her from him.  What they both feel for each other is too strong. He loves her, he promises he’ll come back for her and take charge of her (in a nice way—cargar). Amalia doesn’t believe him, thinks he’s hiding something and says men all make promises like that.  JA reminds her that not all men are alike.  Amalia doesn’t want him to think she is selfish about trying to keep Maria pain-free, but she does know what it is like to suffer for love.  JA doesn’t want her to suffer either and declares that Maria awoke this love in him, but now only the hand of God can separate them.

Hollywoodland, LOL
Mama Altagracia is having a serious talk with Memewendyme.  She can’t get it through her tousled head that Santos is innocent.  Look, Michael is in jail, just like Bruno. Go talk to Michael.  Oh, Wendy points out, he would defend him. Is she insinuating that Bruno is lying? Of course not, it’s that everyone has ganged up on Santos and he’s not here to defend himself.

Back to the Barrio
Jorge Alfredo has reached Maria’s apartment to take her to class.  He greets her with a rose. They’re happy, bantering, laughing as they collect her things. [It’s bound not to last, but, please, telenovela gods, give us a few more episodios to watch these two being happy in love.] They stop along the street to look at an old model car, like one JA used to have and Maria shows him the simple wooden truck like the kids in her barrio had to play with. He would love to have had one like that.  He leans over and says to her, Gracias por estar conmigo.  Then Maria sees an old hand cranked victrola.  She’s enchanted by it because she’d be able to hear her father’s voice again, since she actually has his first disc.  When he offers to get it for her, she thinks he’s crazy; it’s too much money and she’d never be able to pay him back.  He says he’ll make it a gift (un regalo).  They continue their walk towards classes.

The Horse Whisperer – in Spanish, of Course
As they cross the plaza, an entrepreneur has set up a real horse and is taking pictures of kids, and anyone else who wants one, on the horse.  Suddenly, the horse shies and the kid on his back could be in danger.  Jorge Alfredo to the rescue.  Who knew, now he adds Horse Whisperer to his resumé.  All’s well that ends well.  The photographer, grateful to JA for being able to dodge a lawsuit, offers him anything he wants, anything.  JA says, naw, but photoguy presses him.  As a lark, JA asks Maria if she would like a ride.  We guess she did, because here they come.

PEAM, Tuesday 4/30/13 (#37): Father Knows Best

(Now that I've seen the whole episode I don't think that was such a great title, but oh well. Maybe Father will know best tonight.)

Vero takes all of Chucho's cash and his bus tokens and leaves Orion. That company really needs a better policy for employee guests.

Rogue sees Discua winking at Fernando and suddenly realizes why his brother has been so particularly idiotic lately. (Actually, Rogelio, you were shockingly slow to figure that out. Who's the imbécil now?) Fern says he's got a spiritual force-field to protect him from Rogue's bad vibes. He says something about Jesus (the religious one) and Rogue shudders. "Don't invoke that name!" I only mention it because I neglected to include a similar scene in last week's recap when someone said "encanto" to Chucho and he reacted the same way upon hearing Fernando's old nickname for him.)

At Orion, the Two Sillies accuse confront Chucho with their discovery that he, personally, delivered a new/revised application to the Camera, er, Chamber of Cosmetics this morning - on Avon's behalf. They remind him that he can go to prison for industrial espionage. Gee, who saw that coming? Hahahaha.

So THAT'S how the writers deal with portraying Avon as a den of gangsters and gossips: they create a fictitious rival that's just as bad. Brilliant!

Amores Verdaderos #119 Mon 4/29/13 The happy return of the Angel and the Flower... Grandma has a secret. Bride of Foy Toy makes her bed... now she will have to sleep in it, says Mom. Previews: The amazing race?

Refritis:

Little flower repeats to Angel she understands he needs to rebuild his life. He is proud and surprised at how time has passed and she has become a woman, despite all the sorrows she had to go through since her mom died.

He will support her no matter what. She admits it will be hard to see him in love with another… HE is surprised … (really, man?)

Lo Nuevo:

KenDrat on phone with her partner in continuing with the skid of fooling Nikki-NilBrainsChild re: ‘traga-platanos .. eh.. dinero’ Gorilita’s gigolo page.

Said Nikki-NilBrainsChild is arguing with her mother and Gorilita about them not agreeing with her wedding. She keeps insulting. Gorilita won’t stay quiet ‘taking care of you has many angles’. Nikki-NilBrainsChild keeps insulting in his face that she picked Roy-Foy-Toy over him (yeah, NilBrainsChild has earned her nickname, besides ‘fool-B’). Vicky insists they mean her well, but Nikki-NilBrainsChild keeps insulting right out the door. Vicky prays for God to enlighten her (give her brain cells she did not inherit from dear daddy?)

Back to KenDrat nagging on her own about not being able to wear her jewels since she has told everyone they were stolen from her. Nikki-NilBrainsChild ended up in her room telling her what just happened with mommy and Gorilita, they insist she not marry. KenDrat has missed a breath but recovers quicky to insist she keep going with the wedding plans and repeating about Gorilita being a two-faced money-hungry gigolo.

KenDrat tells Nikki-NBC that Dr is coming to give her a good-2-go check up.

Vicky tells Adri about trying to convince Nikki not to marry, Don’t want Nikki to follow her example, marrying a man without love. Adri says you & Gorilita did the right thing, but ultimately it is Nikki’s ticket to ride to doom.
With heavy heart Vicky says whatever Nikki decides, she will support it.

Adri jumps for joy when Vicky says Angel is coming back to his old job.

Vicky also tells Adri she has been a real good counselor/support for Lilli. Adri a bit taken aback, changes subject, what about Vicky and Arriaga? Vicky, again with heavy heart, tells her Angel’s condition to return is that it will be just for job, their ‘relationship’ is in the past. Adri asks ‘will you be able to put your feelings on hold?’ Vicky says for the sake of Arriaga, will have to.

Capitulo 16: Estos Celos Can Get You Detenido

Lo del pasado

Oscar tells Fernando he has a surprise for his "chiquita", the last song her father sang.  There is excitement in the club room as the Alguys take the stage.  Just as Oscar is about to begin, Jorge Alfredo enters JNTR singing “Maria Bonita” to the delight of Maria and everyone else except Oscar and creepy Rubén. He's wearing her father's traje and looking so alpha-hot all the female patrons are seriously enjoying this. So is Don Concho, who is seeing peso signs all over the place.

Lo de nuevo

Mendoza Apartment: Over the sound of a sad cello, Amalia and Mancia talk about Don Braulio and the owed back rent. She has only half the money owed. Mancia offers to lend her the money she needs and reminds her of what the cards said. Amalia turns her down, saying that wouldn't be fair. She wrings her hands in pain. [Could she have lupus?]

Weekend Discussion: Producers Novelographies - Updated March 9, 2015

These lists are not purported to be exhaustive, to name every single producer and every single telenovela ever made.  For the purposes of this list, most of the producers made telenovelas for Televisa, or were shown on prime-time on Univision and recapped on CarayCaray. The titles in Bold feature the current prime time line-up or coming soon. Since then, several have been added broadcasting on Telemundo and TV Azteca.

There is an arbitrary cut-off at 1999, with a couple of exceptions.  It has been interesting to note the number of times an Executive Producer, working under a Producer, goes on to Produce his or her own.  I haven’t included this information, or the list would become endless.  The only exception was Salvador Mejia Alejandre, because it was hard to distinguish whether he was Producer, Executive Producer, or Co-Producer. Disclaimer: This information comes exclusively from Wikipedia or IMDB and the cable companies. They have been pulled together into one document.

Producers with telenovelas currently broadcasting.

Amores Verdaderos #118 Fri 4/26/13 Frankie Keeps Trying, But Kendho Won't Let Him Succeed; What is Anyballs Up To?; FF Thinks He is the Decider

I am diving right into this epi. Things will not be in order to have a better flow of the recap.

The Coffee Talk: We start this epi with Ms Vikki and the Angel having coffee at the infamous mall. You know the one, where she was almost kidnapped. They are catching up with each other. They look quite happy to be seeing each other, like friends who haven't seen each other in some while. The Angel is looking muy bueno with is dungree jacket and jeans, sigh! Ms Vikki has moved Zambrano up in the world. He isn't guarding the gates anymore, he is her personal bodyguard now, until the Angel comes back of course. Well, the Angel isn't sure he is coming back. He knows he owes Ms Vikki still for all the money she gave him and he is a man of his word. He informs her he is selling his little ranchera in Santa Rita. He and Lili decided it would be best, cause they can't ever go back there, now that Cris is gone. Ms Vikki tells him she is always there for him, and if he wants his job back it's there whenever he is ready. He tells her if he comes back to work for Ms Vikki it will only be as her bodyguard, cause the guy that declared his love to her and kissed her at the bus station, is dead, I tell you dead. He died the same day as Cris. It's a deal, she'll take him, er, she'll deal with whateva he wants to do. She looks like she is about to go, but then she reaches into her purse to extract a hand written missive she has written, she explains she's carried it with her, just on the off chance they ran into each other. Angel isn't buying that, but accepts the missive. He starts to open it, but she blushingly tells him not here, later. She wants him to know that she put her whole heart into this missive. They gaze at each other. Hmmmm. Later on there is a split screen shot of the Angel by a lake at the park and Ms Vikki in her little room. Ms Vikki is saying she doesn't think the Angel is coming back, that she respects his decision but she will miss him. The Angel is sitting with his back to a tree, in his dungaree hawtness, and opens the missive Ms Vikki gave him. It reads: May life caress you and fate open it's arms to you. May solace find you and Dios guide your steps. May hope arise and shower you with the certainty that you will always be with me. He looks at it and then crumbles it up. He sits for a bit and picks it up again and smoothes it out.

Qué Bonito Amor #10 (Mex 14.2-15) Friday 4/26/13 ¡Qué Bonita Sorpresita! O La Gran Entrada [What A Nice Little Surprise! Or, The Grand Entrance]

Caps 14.5 – 15

Lo del Pasado:

Amalia lets Mancia read her tarot cards and there’s a nasty warning in them: either she or her daughters are in for a lot of pain.  Meanwhile, Maria and Snooty Bargirl Babes are on their way to computer class when they notice Santos/Jorge Alfredo walking through the plaza towards them.

Lo Del Nuevo:

Maria can’t take her eyes off moping Jorge Alfredo.  He noticed her and has walked over to speak on a serious matter with her, namely to tell her the truth!  Like the rest of us, he’s piqued Maria’s interest.   He tells her, during a walk in the nearby park, that he’s leaving because of a moral duty to do so.  Otherwise, if it were up to him, he’d stay there in the D.F. permanently.  “—Sure, you told me that already; that’s why you don’t want to see me again.  OK. You were right.”  Seeing him kissing some other woman, though, is eating at Maria and she can’t help but put it out there.  “—I saw you kissing some woman last night.” Point of clarification here.  “—That was Elvira, and I wasn’t kissing her.  She kissed me!” Same thing, whines Maria!  No, of course it isn’t, argues JA!  Why?  “--Because I don’t love her!  And, at this point in time, there’s only one woman I would kiss.”

Maria wants to believe Jorge Alfredo, but Snooty Bargirl Babes show up and tell her break is over.  Time to get back to classes.  JA stares into Maria’s eyes and tells her she’s his only angel.  Snooty # 1 who’s in love with Fernandlo, aka, Mil Amores intervenes and drags Maria away.  “—Aw, get off it, hot-stuff! [¡Bájalo, chulito! = ‘Tamp it down, cutie-pie.’]  Maria and he exchange longing glances,as she walks back to class.
