Gancho Thurs 3/25 #194 -THE CAMERA!! SHUT UP!!! SAVE SAL!!!!

Ahoy all, I'm wondering if I might solicit some help on Thursday April 8th. Would anyone be willing to sub for me or trade nights? I could trade Tues or Wed nights, if someone will sub then so much the better. If it doesn't work out I will do a quick-and-dirty. Let me know.

Yesterday we found out that Sermeño Group has been closed for two months! Aha, we knew things were going to hell in a handbasket and that's probably why Marcos had to rehire Mau. Gabi has an idea that they will have a huge reunion fiesta to let their clients know that SG is back in action. Mau is on board as are Beto and Paula. Hissabel hears the lie that her leukemia is out of remission. She looks stricken. Payback's a bitch, witch.

On with tonight's fun...Nieves states her case to Moni that SHE cared for Valentina when her own mother abandoned her. She did all the mommy things and Moni never lacked for anything. A tear rolls down our beautiful heroine's face. Is she softening? Nieves pushes too hard and asks why can't Monita see her mommy is a baddie? Doh! Monita explodes, "You aren't my mother and you never were. Stop talking smack about my real mommy!"

At the Doc's office Hissy has a...you know I'm going to say it...hissy fit when the doc tells her that another bone marrow transplant won't work. (Gotta love how Isa's all "hey let's take some more of my daughter's bone marrow, no problem.") Doc says she has a couple of months to live, no more than a year. Issy's a wrathful witch who refuses to believe the disease is back. Doc urges her to go for a second opinion, hopefully he's feeling guilty about now, but Hissy slithers out of the office in a reptilian rage. No more being tied to hospital beds for this viper!

Ouch! Monita's shrieking is hurting my ears. She sez if Nieves can't accept Isa is her mother she's outta there. Sad times for Nieves. Like Estrella, subtlety is not Nieves' strong point.

Doc Edgar call Marcos who cackles profoundly when he hears Isabel thinks she's dying of Leukemia. Dude, it's really not very nice to be enjoying this SO much.

Hissabel tries to calm herself in the ladies room but her hands are shaking as she applies her lipstick. The reflection she sees is of a haggard, dying Isabel. "This can't be happening!" She throws a poor innocent plant at the mirror and then sees in the shards that she was hallucinating. Sigh of relief...for now.

Back at SG Paula's ranting to Gabi about having to make cappuchino for that dirtbag (mugroso) Beto. Gabi rightly advises her that it is a great career move to be a secretary to the Director General. And her first task is to make sure that Beto doesn't interfere in Gabi's fiesta. Xime joins them with congratulations on getting their jobs back, compliments on Pau's new look and to ask Pau for a cappuchino. Eh? asks Pau, incredulous. Clearly she'll be a barista no more. Gabi bustles by to do the deed but stops dead in her tracks when Xime announces she saw Salvatore's ghost. Crash goes the spoon and cup, wide go Gabi's eyes.

Over at the Mad Manse Loca drives Sal crazy with attention while Aldo glumly observes. In the next room Jero introduces Oski to two burly bodyguards who are there to make sure nobody escapes. Jero is alarmed to see his nephew Aldo has joined the Wack Pack.

Ivan happily shows up for his first day at work and not so happily discovers his assignment is to be Beto's assistant. He's to show Beto the ropes and make sure he doesn't commit stupidities. Ivan's dubious and Beto asks what does he have to do, stand in front of his office with a sign on his chest and yell "Tamales! I'm Beto Ochoa, Director General of Grupo Sermeno, Respect me!" Ivan thinks his job might be impossible.

As Ivan stands at the front desk pondering his career choices he is joined by a hot new receptionist. He proudly announces he's the special assistant to the General Director. She hoists her bosom and coos she just loves being around hunkalicious (cueros) executives. OK, he's thinking, so maybe this Beto gig, not so bad.

Mientras tanto Luisa sees Andres at school. She's happy and friendly and he's trying really hard to act depressed because she didn't choose him as her novio. This scene does very little except foreshadow future problems between our young lovebirds Ivan and Luisa.

Back at the Manse the nice nurse escorts Loriloca off for her bath. Then team Oski vacates the room, thus leaving Aldo alone with Sal. "Aldoooo" Sal moans. Are they alone? Yes he's faking being drugged. They have to escape because Oscar is going to kill them. The dazed look finally leaves Aldo's eyes, boy howdy he's awake now.

Xime describes to a rapt Pau and Gabi the details of her Sal sighting. She concludes with his description, contorted and groaning, and demonstrates accordingly. Gabi's just got to ask, were Xime and Arni influenced by those pills that cause one to see pink elephants and butterflies? Nopis! Gabi and Pau are impressed by Xime's vehemence, and Gabi is bummed to hear that her lover's soul is wandering the dark woods in torment. Was he wearing his toupee? Sipis!! Pau, ever the pragmatist, suggests that maybe Sal is alive? Xime scoffs, she certainly knows the difference between a live person and a soul in torment!

Well you know what Xime, the two are not mutually exclusive in Sal's case. Sal quietly explains to Aldo he doesn't know how he got here and the injections make him feel nada and with no capacity to think. He recalls being in some sort of psycho hospital and then in this place. Luckily the nurse is on their side but Oscar probably suspects her now. They have to make sure Loriloca doesn't commit an indiscretion. By the way, he asks, what happened to put Aldo in this place? He looks like hell and his dad should know where he is, he's surely looking for him. Mau's not my dad, announces the surly youth. Mau did something he'll never forgive. Oski surprises them and Sal goes into zombie mode. Oski tells Aldo to get used to Sal being this way. Sal coolly watches Oski's retreating back.

Gabi's of the mind that Sal is alive and kicking. Xime wonders if maybe he didn't do a disappearing act like Moni's ma? No no no, Sal wanted to marry her above all else. And if he really is dead then surely he's come back to exact revenge for his tragic death.

THE CAMERA!!! It's on Mau's desk at work, the centerpiece at his first business meeting. Not exactly it seems, Mau has hired a detective to find his son Aldo and Oski who has thus far eluded the police. Gabi grabs THE CAMERA!!! and tells the guy she doesn't have much confidence in a detective who uses a disposable CAMERA. Mau corrects her, it's Moni's CAMERA with wonderful pictures of their fun day together. (Hah!) Gabi wants to be superefficient and get it developed for him. (Yes yes yes yes yes say YES you dense cuero!) But no, he wants to take it so he and Moni can look at the pictures together. (Drat, foiled again.)

Oski threatens the nice nurse that she'd better give Sal a double dose of six drops of essence of terror, he wants no more repeats of last night's escape. Oski watches. Nursie stalls. Aldo interrupts just long enough for nursie to squirt the sinister sauce on the floor and Sal to moan convincingly.

At Playland, I mean Sermeño Group, Beto spins circles in his new executive chair, asks for cappuchino, and slaps Paula's shapely behind. She snarls he'd better cut it out or they will have problems. He tells her not to be so grouchy and pats his lap for Paula to sit down on it. Gabi tries to stifle a laugh while Pau calls him naco, lout, drone. Mau tells Beto to forget the cappuchino, he has important news. He's figured out a way to protect Monita from Isabel and he needs their help.

Speak of the she-devil, Isa has shown up at the gym, squints her eyes evilly at Moni and mutters "There she is, full of life..." The sneer turns into a fake smile when her daughter spots her and bounds over like a puppy to hug her. Isa says the doctor said she's fine and healthy, how about dinner tonight? Moni sez she's got plans with Mau and the kids. Ma sez why not all eat together? Moni loves the idea and Isa blows her a kiss goodbye.

Damn, Mau must have revealed his plan while we were at the gym. Whatever it is, Team Mauricio is completely on board and Gabi thinks it's spectacular (bien chipocludo)! It's going to happen tomorrow right under Isabel's nose and Estrella will help too.

Now we are at Gym Jimmy where La Momia works out. She's sparring with La Guerrera, loses attention for a moment and gets a Guerrera gancho on the cheek for her trouble. Beto shows up and sucks up to Coni by telling her he needs her help with charm lessons. She's got to show him the ropes of how to have class for his new job so he can earn lots of dough, buy nice clothes and lick her face.

Mau and Moni are at the school to pick up the kids. Mau mentions he'll be a little late because he has to work late. No matter, the girls are thrilled to see Monita. They all want Monita to stay with them in their rooms but Mau pulls rank, when the time comes she'll stay in HIS room. Danny is momentarily confused but figures it's just another grownup mystery and jumps into the car.

Estrella and Paula console Nieves. Mau has some sort of plan to fix everything and get the witch out of Monita's life. Estrella sadly sighs and says she only wishes her cachorro could share all of this with them.

The caged cub goes through tearfully drooly withdrawals while recalling happy times with Estrella, then finding her in bed with Mau. He eyeballs the nurse's medical baitbox, hears Sal saying the drug makes him feel nothing, and grabs a syringe with trembling hands.

Ah, Costeño is back, 'bout time. Over at the gym he and Don Cesar, today sporting a fuschia suit, discuss new equipment when Costeño's eyes light up and he tells Nieves how beautiful she looks. After a few compliments from DC Nieves asks Costeño if she and DC can talk alone. Costi flirts blatantly with our steamy snowball until DC kicks him out.

Jacqui is following Isabel into Coni's house demanding to know why she's there. Isa sez she's got bidness with Coni. Jacqui snipes at Isa some more and reminds her that she caused Coni to lose her child. Isa informs Jacqui that Coni can have another and then Jacqui will get her chance to be a sweet granny. This doesn't sit well at Jacqui's vanity, she sez she's still young while Isa already smells of death. (Ouch!) Then Jacqui smugly smiles at Isa's reaction, "shut up!" She tells Isa her daughter's not around and since she doesn't have another husband to steal Isa might as well leave.

Fun short scenes of Coni dragging Beto into a suit store and forcing him to dress for success. He tries a suit jacket with his boxers, a bright green jacket gets rejected, she raises an eyebrow at his dapper suit and glasses, and they duck into the changing room for a little afternoon delight.

Tere is thrilled to see Moni arrive home with the family. Tere's been hanging with Aliblahblah too long and she spills the beans about a surprise at tonight's dinner. Mau recovers and tells her he had planned a private moment but the girls would probably spy on them anyway and...(gets on his knee)...says his plans for tomorrow include a party, a priest and all his love because tomorrow, if she agrees, they are going to get married. Ta Daaaa! A big huge smile from Monita ends tonight's episode.

Mañana: While Aldo is drugged Oski explains to the nurse that Aldo is bummed because his dad prevented his marriage to his knocked up novia and then the kid found them in bed together. Sal tries not to look impactado. Lalu reveals to Xime that Arni is not gay. Coni, dressed as the Vengador, enjoys a little luchador foreplay with Beto. Mau tells Isa that he and Moni are planning to get married tomorrow. Nieves spills these beans to Beto not realizing Coni is hiding in his room. Oops!

Corazon Salvaje - 3/24 Wed. - Playing with Bubbles and Swords While Reality Taps Quietly At Several Doors

Request: I need a substitute re-capper for Wednesdays April 14 and 21. I will be in the rain forest and on the beaches of Costa Rica in pursuit of beauteous bird photos. Even a volunteer to post a discussion for the appropriate nights would be great. Secondly, I need someone for the same on the night of May 5. On that one I will be photographing Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, and other G. O’Keefe favored sites. Let me know here or write me at cherylnewmex@gmail.com.

Review: Latina Kat, so glad you got to play with Jack Nicholson’s “You can’t handle the truth“ line. Last night’s episode was begging for it. We revisit Renato being unable to deal without Regina’s undying adoration like he has always felt entitled to even though she professes that he hasn’t even one defect. Hmmmm, but Kat described this so well last night, I will skip on to tonight’s delights of boyish sword play and sexy bubble baths and lots of hot kisses and big, fat lies about telling Juan the truth this very night:

Renato can’t imagine why this nun doesn’t want him. Regina begs, I want you to all forget me and I want you to be happy. Your happiness will bring mine. Forget me, that’s all I ask, forget me. She makes as quick an exit as one can with nun’s robes sweeping the floor.

Dear lord, Regina prays kneeling before the golden cross in her room, Why do you keep tempting me in front of him. why is it so hard. I need your pity your understanding (comprensión), your mercy (piedad). In the face (rostro) of temptation

Clemencia is right I shouldn’t judge her first I must save her. I will no longer fight against her, but now In favor of her. The real baddy is that big baddie, that savage Juan del Diablo.

Baddy incarnate, aka Juan, is rubbing his pistol on his cheek while he counts his revenge motives in swirling pictures of his sad past.

Gabriel announces the arrival of Señor Marina. Juan acknowledges pride in his luxurious digs, and comes with a packet of documents. To welcome his guest he offers refreshment, but Marina, wants no refreshment and wants to talk without introduction (preámbulo). Juan gestures with the large portfolio which are his proof of the fraud Marino has committed, Juan tells him he expects that Marina will be his spy on Montes de Oca wanting to know everything, what he does what he thinks. He demands to know all his movements, what he is looking into. These documents could end up in the hands of Rodrigo and no one can save you from him if they do.The first head to roll in this village will be yours.

Renato expounds on his plans, he wants to build better housing (vivienda) for the day laborers jornaleros to live in, a school. and a medical clinic (dispensario). Remigio salutes his efforts. They agree that they want them to have a better life.

Arcadio, arriving on horseback, ruins the friendly, generous moment by barking to Renato, I hear you have plans for the land beyond the hill (loma)l. Won’t we want to plant sembrar that area? No. They briefly argue about what the saintly Leonarda will say about this. Renato somewhat calmly restates his authority to make these decisions which obviously has not sunk into Arcadio’s thick skull. Maybe the giant mullet hair is blocking his ears.

As Arcadio horse tramples flowers and dashes off, Remegio says don’t trust him or believe in him he is a vile betrayer and does not have your best interests at heart. Renato rewards Remegio: From today you are my right hand man in whom I will place all my confidence

Clemencia make Leonarda mad while brushing her hair and says she doesn’t feel well. Clemencia wants to tell Leo what she saw in the chapel (pantheon). Leo argues that the child of Rosario can not reappear. But Clemencia stupidly persists. Don’t talk about this she screams. I know that the son of Rosario is alive. Clemencia continues, so if you don’t want to know, do you want this son to return? What if he comes some day to demand his rights as a Montes de Oca.

Leo is furious threatening to kick her out if she mentions this again, and don’t think I won't, get out of here., she shouts her out of the room.
***
Juan and Gab spar . Gab, you always have to protect your heart, he points with sword. Did you see Estrella last night in the .Did you forgive her? Yes but I don’t know what to do. Gab wants to ask him I feel passion like a volcano, You think you are in love but you haven’t known love before. When a sailor is lost and doesn’t know where to go he must look at the stars. When he sees the most brilliant star in the sky he will know where to travel.. Gabriel thinks immediately of his brilliant Estrella. The sword play begins again and Juan repeats the lesson about protecting the heart for Gabriel.

It was a marvelous night says Jimena returning the fancy clothes in tears. I feel bad for having lied to him. He had a night with Estrella. The blonde asks Jimena why don’t you tell him who you are? Tell him the truth. I wish Gabriel to love me for who I am but Gabriel will judge me for who I am. This dream will never be true.

Gabriel dreams of Estrella, you are with me in the days and nights why can’t we love openly freely?

Circus man practices throwing knives at Tarot woman. Jimena dreams of her ship board meetings as the veiled Estrella. Jimena dreams of the lovely memories while sitting in the dirt next to a wagon wheel. She dreams, tomorrow for sure I am going to look for him. Gabriel, my love, I don't want to lose you .

With such a large mansion, I can’t figure out why these grown women have to share one bedroom but never mind, Aimee opens her shopping packets on her bed, Regina is trying to assure her how much she loves her and how much she cares how she is. I am fighting so much for you. Clemencia pointed out my conduct toward you wasn’t the best. I am not proud of my treatment toward you and I am going to try to help you. I won’t fight against you but for you and the evil that has been done to your soul and to rout it out, I’m thinking of Juan del Diablo. Aimee smiles, that is who she is thinking about too.

Juan discusses his conversation and what he learned of his mother from Clemencia. His straw hut friends want to know, Are you still planning to kill Montes de Oca? The old bruised guy recounts when Juan del angel. Juan is leading an angry mob who is ready to attack a traitor but his children were there and he says a man doesn’t get revenge in front of a man’s children if he is a man. Your father was a man of justice perhaps the most just man I have ever known. Juan snaps back, so just that he was killed for it? . Juan walks out.

Aimee says this very night I am going to tell Juan that I will never see him again and without fail, tonight I will tell him that I will marry Renato. I’ll have to sneak out to meet him, after all, I can't just go to his house and create a scandal in the town. Regina is encouraging, I see you will reconsider (recapacitarse) and you will never never never ever return to see him.... Aimee ever the coquette with her fan thinks, never??? That’s what you think sister!
****
Sensuous bubble bath time for Aimee who sighs, Oh my body oh my skin, oh my senses, Juan is in all of me. Regardless of what my sister thinks, Juan, nothing will separate us for ever, nothing.

Rodrigo deals cards and wants the associates gathered around the card table to check Juan Aldama’s credentials with their European associate. Noel defends his belief that Juan is legitimate and should be dealt with fairly, and Rod says Noel can liquidate his shares if he doesn’t like it and be done with it (se acabo). he will do what he wants and acabo. Fulgencio advises Federico to approach Gabriel. Rod swears his fortune is solid. Marina says that Juan and the other one (Gabriel) live in the big house by the caves. How do you know this? asks Rod. Marina says he was making some investigations, Don't be nervous says Noel. They drink to health.

Juan and Aimee are lost in naked cave love I’ve never known a woman like you . I love being with you without your clothes, I want to be with you all night. She says well I had this family event. and couldn’t leave early. Don’t you like to me he shouts. I am yours (suya) , I am yours (tuya) she says with more emphasis. In truth you love me? Will you come with me?

We see them suddenly dressed and dry on the beach, Aimee in her lovely lady dress sees Juan’s house of sticks. Here is my house, my home (hogar) here is where we will live. He demands isn’t it a great place for our love house. how does it look to you? She thinks, in her life she wouldn’t leave the benefits of Renato’s fortune for this want a horrible (espantosa) house like this.

At the can-can club. Fulgencio tells Federico he will need to be vigilant to penetrate Gabriel’s defenses. Federico is arrogant about Juan’s arrogance (soberbia). Fulgencio knows there are advantages because Gabriel is young and therefore inexperienced.

Juan says oh I was only kidding this isn’t our house. He takes her laughter as proof that she really loves him. She professes that his fortune and money doesn’t matter she really loves just him. He dreams that he will put all his fortune at her feet tomorrow, then leads her into the hut.

Felipe and Rod exchange pleasantries about his patronage in this club, Felipe observes how distinguished a client Rod is, Madelena approaches and takes over this gentlemen. He accuses her of tricking him during the boat trip and it cost him a lot to forgive her does that mean you will never forgive me even if I display my best merits? Which merits he says, obviously interested, By best, she obviously means the lovely blonde that approaches at her beckoning, As she snuggles into Rodrigo she orders Felipe to bring two glasses of champagne. To your beauty, he toasts, to your pride (soberbia) she returns.
****

At the big house. Rosario rocks her sock-baby rag doll . Tranquilo, she says to the maid who goo-gooss that she wants to go for food. Go, I am going to take care of my baby. As soon as she is alone, she quietly and rapidly opens the secret door and assures sock baby that she will be right back, don’t worry.

Noel looks at portraits with an ironic expression.

Regina, tells Clemencia she took her advice and she was right, Regina is going help her sister while giving up (renunciar) and I am going to fight from this hour that I will forget Renato. I pray that this love will stop consuming me. Noel is listening at the door. He comes in to say he heard what she said. Clemencia leaves. This impossible love, is it Renato . Yes padrino, it is Renato. Downstairs Clemencia sees that Aimee is about to climb the stairs so she stops her to tell her that Padrino and Regina are talking. About what, Aimee is worried. Your sister is incapable of betraying you, Aimee worries that she is about to be discovered. Clemencia admits she knows all about her behavior with this savage. Aimee emotes that she was on the point of ruining her life, of making the worst of errors. but she realized that she loves Renato with all her heart and guess who comes in hearing these words, he says and I adore you with all my soul, they kiss.

Noel says this is why you fled to the convent? Regina says her love for him was a mountain of dreams and hopes. But on returning from living away she learned of his love for Aimee. Noel says why don’t you tell him of your real feelings. She says no. she prefers to sacrifice herself so he will be happy . Why are you saying you will keep your sister from doing bad? What bad are you referring to? Regina sidesteps, When I went to Europe I thought we would marry but I confused Renato’s affect with love.

Just then the white clad nun outfit looks in the mirror and sees the black clad netting of Rosario who lifts her finger to hush or silence her. Regina does not scream. [Ed note: I want to know how she keeps her hair and the black netting so clean looking in that cave house. I’d even like to know what kind of creme rinse gives that soft gleam to her hair.]
***
I saw her, I saw her. Regina rushes back to the door and chases the shadow. She turns around to ask Noel if he saw the woman in black. Arcadio is screaming and Rosenda approaches which miraculously delays him. The maid is scared keeping an eye on the secret door.

Regina thinks she is hallucinating because Noel is too thick to have seen anything. It’s only nerves that is all it is. Tranquila she advises. My dear daughter, I too have suffered for love and have been refused but learned to live with it silently, confides Noel. Have confidence in me. Any time you need to unburden yourself (desahogarse) seek my out.

The maid is afraid hearing Arcadio holler that he is fed up (harto) and Rosario creeps back in the room just in time. Rosenda shows up again with a candle saying she is not afraid that she holds a few secrets with them, just like he has secrets. She grabs the best wine in the house, flirting that he can share wine and secrets with her. He advises her she better be ready to pay the price of this secret keeping and grabs the wine back. She is ready but he pushes her beyond the gate advising her to be careful as he locks her out. She says soon there will be warning alarms (Un rato que me rebato),

the regal over voice tells us that Renato can be described by his shy gentle love and the fiery (fogosa) and passionate Aimee. He opens the door to cool his ardor in the night air and speaks about his wonderful life with her, the landa (terreno) their passion in the future. They will stay here at the Finca del Mar. She doesn’t want to live here on the farm she wants to live in the port. The finca will be out real homem our universe and we will spend just a few days in the port. Only a few days! she practically snorts. He waxes poetic, we will be here with the sea, the flowers, the country. She proposes that they kiss and share some ardor, I want you to kiss me with passion. He kisses her with tenderness and gentleness like a good gentleman. He obeys and is lost in her profound eyes and womanly perfume and, and ... We are engaged and pretty soon we will be married. She suddenly cools and shifts saying ironically, I care what others think of our conduct. She adds that Regina will wake up and come down to see us here. Regina won’t come she has forsaken her of friendship with me. Yes she says strange things.

Yeah she said she loved me then amended it with “like a brother friend”, but I didn’t completely believe her. Aimee agrees, Yes my sister is worse than you think, she is loosing her reason, her nerves she is making things up, she is accusing me of things that are not true. No, says Renato, she is reasonable and is so good , If you admire her so much you should have decided to marry her. As this revealing little exchange plays out, Regina quietly comes down the stairs Aimee swoons, that tell me that you will love me forever come what may (pase lo que pase). . Renato goes from passive to passionate to suggested violent in a flash. Renato repeats with his hands around her neck that if she even once betrays him he will kill her with his bare hands. I cannot live without you Regina looks hopeful then resigned as she watches them embrace.

Tomorrow: Oh lucky recapper. You get to tell us that Juan attacks Rodrigo with a knife in front of a church and Regina stops him saying don’t mess with my Padre. Your padre? He looks over at Aimee and repeats, your padre? oops...

Gancho Wed Mar 24th - He's alive and we wish She was dead....

Ok so we open with the Ma barging in on the kids post you know what. She leaves finally so they can continue to enjoy their "reconciliation". OK whatever. So we go to the restaurant where the three currently solteras are lamenting that in some form or other each has lost her man. Gabi of all chicas puts the kaibosh on the sorrow and says we are here to PARRTAY! They agree and snap out of their respective heretofore funks. They toast, good thing Estre's drink looks non-alcoholic.

The spiders spar. Issy says things didn't go her way, Coni says she is not as good as Coni. Issy reminds her she put photos in the camera.

Ok speaking of that camera our dense Mau apparently managed to make breakfast. He talks abou going to eat with the girls and taking Val. She thinks of the camera and retrieves it to drop it off for developing.

Beto, in a rare moment of social compliance, has showered and deodorized and washed his clothes and Mama is combing his cowlicks. She thinks he should be wearing a suit, but he says executives can wear what they want. He talks to the doll as if it were an employee and makes demands. He continues that executives don't have ot work, that what they have employees for.

Back to M&M breakfast. She thinks maybe she won't train today and will spend the day with him. Oh, he can't, he starts back to work today. Huh? Mona learns her Pa gave him back his old post. She's still not thinking positive of him. So anyway, Mau manages to take the camera and says he'll be responsible for developing them and they can meet later to look at them together. That sounds like fun!! NOT...

OK, so now Coni is leaving Mami Vibora after having run out of venom for the moment. She looks for her hunk but he's just left, and he's not going to the gym, he went to earn a living to offer you a future. They spar, Nieves yelling at her for having not changed and having something to do with Issy. She demands Coni to listen to her that she better shape up because Mami dearest will be keeping an eye on her.

Xime and Arny and ROlu are brunching together, Xime and Arni hitting it off, her proud of his overcoming fear and him thanking her for inspiring him. Rolu is rolling his eyes surely fearing the worst, that they don't love each other.

Now it's Issy's turn to get crap from Nieves who wonders if she and Momia are starting a witches club. Nieves warns her not to mess with them.

Ok Xime goes to the Spa, this leaves perfect opportunity for Rolu to bitch out his bro for less than honorable intentions with his wife. 'Bout time. Arni defends himself very well insisting they are friends and she has helped him and he is helping Rolu to win her back so there.

Holy sh**! Aldo shows up at the tudor and looks who's eating lunch, our favorite vegetable Sal. He sees him!!! Oscar is there and says no, you are not hallucinating. Aldo is confused. Sal doesn't respond though. Lore is silly happy though.

More witch talk between Issy and Nieves. The insults escalate 'tween the fake Ma and the real ma until a fight breaks out. Of course guess who walks up at the same time as the punches, oh crap, and of course Nieves gets yelled at for attacking Mona's Ma and Ma plays the victim.

At the tudor, Aldo who looks like sh** these days is trying to talk to Sal. Instead he gets an earful about how he tells no one or his habit is cut off y punto. Poor strung out Aldo, his Pa would be so happy if he knew Sal was alive.

Oh boy, and Issy gets hers this time as she walks away with Mona arm and arm. Nieves cries and swears vengeance.

Beto shows up at work and gets a lashing for his wardrobe. Mau is happy and promises to help out Beto. Edgar shows up and Mau tends to him, and Beto gets Jero's old office.

Nieves is bawling and Estre helps her. She learns what happened but also tells Nieves that M&M reconciled and Issy wasn't expecting that.

Issy is doing her own bawling and pity party. But she wants Mona to tell her about good stuff.

Estre continues with the pep talk and not letting Issy get to her.

Mona and Mami Vibora chat abotu how wonderful Mau acted to her and she can't wait to see the photos. Oooh oooh, Mami says let's go develop them now!! Oh, well Mau has the camera. Foiled! Vibora makes a quite unsatisfied face.

Ma is going to the docs, or so she is letting Mona think, but doesn't want her to come with of course.

Estre and Mona girl chat over the love plot. The both look super cute in dresses. Estre tries to remind Mona that Nieves has done a lot for her and not to forget it, she's pretty upset so don't be too hard on her etc. and Mona should at least listen to her.

The old men chat about Issy's situation. Turns out she's negative for tests and in perfect health. Edgar really wants him to change his mind, but he ain't budgin'...Issy doesn't win this war. Darn tootin.

Mau and Beto are in the office and Mau out stretches and whacks Beto in his Betos. Gabi and Pau come in to cheer that Mau is back. They too yell at Beto for not being professional too.

Mona comes in to a sad Nieves. They chat and Nieves promises she is defending Mona, and she has been there through thick and thin. Mona is only happy though that she has her real Ma with her.

Back at the office, Pau is sour because Mau makes her Beto's secretaria.

Now we go to Doc Edgar who gratefully gives Issy the bad news that her cancer has returned. Oh goody, she looks pretty upset. Doh and that's it for tonight folks!!

Dinero #48 March 24 2010 The butchers’ daughter comes up with a plan

This one was a little bit all over the place. I had a little trouble keeping up with all of the goings on. We had more random odd scenes then usual. We had plots and plans and espionage. We had money being stuffed into pockets. We had chairs busting all over the place. And an ending that was as scary as any horror movie. So lets get started.

We start out with Chucho telling Chavez there is something wondering around the Hacienda, some kind of spirit and Chucho is frightened. Chavez asks him if he has a gun and says shoot it. Chucho says okay and off he goes. We see a concerned look on Chavez face.

Susana hands Ale the completed reports to sign as she drinks what I can only surmise is a hidden commercial. She asks Ale if she is certain she wants to send those reports. Ale says of course I do. Susana warns her that it might not be a good time with the Siglo crew being all out of sorts with her right now. She tells Ale that they have been talking to Beltran and it hasn’t been good.

At this moment we see Bow-tie guy talking with Beltran. He tells him that as smart as Ale is she has been acting a little neurotic and very preoccupied. He tells him that a poor environment is not good for sales. Beltran doesn’t want to hear this as he grabs for his oxygen

Chavez is asking Marco if he really thinks it is a good idea to have the wedding at the Hacienda. Marco thinks it is, especially with the 200 guests coming. He doesn’t want to return the wedding gifts. He says it could be something simple, but he will have to sell something to pay for it.

Chavez insists that the wedding can’t be at the Hacienda. Marco reminds him that Ales’ family has every right to have the wedding there. Then he asks Chavez why not? Chavez reminds him of everything they have sold to cover his expenses and goes to tell him of all the havoc that has been raised there. Marco doubts that anyone would even notice. Chavez paints a pretty descriptive picture of the evidence that would be in plain sight.

Chavez tells him there have been some changes. Marco wants to know more about this. Chavez tells him about a Ming vase that was broken (We have a scene of Chavez playing spin the bottle with said vase and oops) He had given away some of the silver as a birthday present. (Another scene with Chavez handing over the silverware to two very scantly dressed women.) Marco says this cant be. Chavez tells him that is not all and continues telling him he had to give gratuities to people and we see the plundering continue.

Marco tells him to stop and calls him a brute. Chavez tells him he has to come up with something to convince them to not come to the Hacienda. Marcos’ phone rings and it’s Jorge. Marco tells Jorge he is going to call Chavez regarding the Hacienda. Jorge wants to meet with Chavez tonight at his house.

The Boys have another problem to try and get out of. But rest assured they will think of something, as Marco tells Chavez he has to meet with Jorge.

Beltran is sucking his oxygen and asking bow-tie guy if the problem is that serious. Bow-tie guy tells Beltran that he thinks Ale is going crazy. He tells him Ale is at a very complicated age. She still isn’t married and she probably feels like that train has left the station.

Beltran wants to know what they should do. Bow-tie guy starts talking about Japanese shock techniques. Or something like that. He even volunteers to instigate these techniques himself. Beltran is very grateful for this

Chavez and Marco continue discussing their problem. Chavez tells him not to worry. He will come up with something. Marco does not look to convinced. (This shoudld be fun.)

Ale is chewing everyone out about their bad sales and tells them they will have to work twice as hard this month. Bow-tie guy tries to sneak in and Ale doesn’t skip a beat as she asks him how his talk with Beltran went. She wants to know what he has against her. He tells her it was the opposite. He was singing her praises. Ale isn’t buying that.

Odd scene number one. It is at the salon and a Michael Jackson imitator moonwalks into the salon to get a tint. Villia wants an autograph. I am not certain what Bogan wanted I think he wanted to know what he did after he died (What?) Ovi tells them that it isn’t really MJ but an imitator. She wants to know if he wants to participate in a dance competition. Then we get a little more dance from our MJ wantabe.

Ale continues with her rant. She tells everyone that these are the consequences they have to pay for not selling while she was gone. She asks them want they have to do. All together now “Sell!!” Now it is time to sing. This time Ale notes that it is not with actions and everyone is less than enthused.

She wants to know what’s going on. She asks them if they want another month of vacation? Bow-tie guy tries to intervene on his co-workers behalf. This isn’t going over very well. Than she asks them what they think they should be selling. She yells at them and they all quickly sit down with very scared faces.

Bow-tie guy continues and says it isn’t a problem of meeting their goals but a problem of motivation. She chides them and tells them they certainly have motivation when it comes to going out to party at the tortazo. Ramiro timidly corrects her (not a bright idea Ramiro). She starts yelling more and pore Ramiro is chugging pepto. She tells them they should all be ashamed of themselves.

Then she tells them they all have a mark against them for missing an hour of work and it will be noted in their files. This doesn‘t set well with the crew and Ale walks out.

Susana wants to know how the meeting went. Ale says not so good. She cant figure out why they think she should be treating them better after the way they have been acting. Ale continues that she returned from her trip in a good mood. But its their fault she’s like this. Than she asks Susana if Rafa has turned against her as well. Susana tells her its hard to know who‘s siding with whom.

All of the crew are now outside Siglo asking Bow-tie guy about his meeting with Beltran. He tells them Beltran is concerned about sales. He tells them that Beltran has agreed to let Bow-tie instruct them in a positive manner to vent their frustrations. Marino is not convinced. Claudia says the only way to enhance the labor issues is to raise their salaries.

Then we get a little discussion about World War Two and Pearl Harbor. Poor Ramiro doesn‘t have a clue what any one is talking about, and frankly neither did I. Bow-tie tells them regardless they all have an appointment to be there at 0900 to start their exercise.

Rafas’ phone rings. Its Vicky wanting to know if Rafa got permission to go on their honeymoon. Rafa tells her he hasn‘t had time. Vicky goes on about how she cant have a wedding without a honeymoon. Its like a butcher shop with out meat. Or ribs without bones. She continues to whine. She tells him to talk to Ale right now. Then she tells him he is making her cry with his indifference. (get over it all ready Vicky.) She tells him not to show up until he gets permission.

Susana gives them all their reports. (I think these are all the bad marks Ale has given them for leaving early or reprimands) They all start harassing poor Susana who tells them it is not her fault she is just following orders. She tells them to get back inside and get to work. She tells Rafa Ale wants to see him.

Now the crew have all decided that they need to get Susana on their side. They need to come up with a plan. Bebe is outraged. They shouldn’t be plotting against sweet Susana They all feign agreement and Bebe leaves. They continue to plot once he has left.

Rafa enters Ales’ office. She want to know what his plan of sales is for this month. He tells her he knows how many cars and trucks he needs to sell. She tells him that wasn’t her question. She wants to know how he plans to do that. She wants a specific plan. Rafa reminds her he doesn’t work like that. He has to find new jungles, new lions. He tells Ale that he has a problem of logistics. He tells her everyone here thinks he has lots of money. He was thinking of getting a loan somewhere. Ale cant believe he is thinking of taking out another loan and wants to know how he thinks he is going to pay it off. He can barely pay her what he owes her.

She says he doesn’t have a single penny but yet he has money to get married with. This ruffles Pajaritos’ feathers. He wants to know how she gets all her information. She says that’s not what’s important she wants to know where he is going to get the money for his wedding. Rafa wants to know why his wedding is any of her business.

She continues to rant on him about having money for his wedding and doesn’t have the money he owes her. She continues to tell him that any money he has she deserves. He tells her the money for the wedding is coming from the in-laws.

She calls him a louse for getting married without a penny. She is on one fine rant. And right now it is all about Ale. Rafa asks her if it is better for her if he doesn’t get married. Ale is indignant about this. Go on your honeymoon if that’s what you want. Well actually that is exactly what he wanted to talk to her about. (OH Rafa your timing is a little off). Now we see sarcastic Ale at work. She wants to know how much time he needs. He tells her he needs 15 days. She wants to know when and he says in two months. (Rafa you are so naïve) She says no problem. I can go out in the street and look for clients. (Ale should give classes on sarcasim.)

Rafa says they are in the same position and inquires about her honeymoon . She tells him it is none of his business. She tells him she doesn’t have the luxury of taking a honeymoon. And now we have the rehash of how all her problems is the fault of Rafa. (the criminal) .

She is really mad and yells at him if he has to get married well do it. Then she sets horrible limits. It can only be one night and he has to be right back to work and he cant get drunk. She tells him if he goes on a honeymoon she will hunt him down. He salutes her and says yes maam and goes to leave. She calls him back and tells him to sit down.

She wants to know the name of Rafas’ girlfriend and calls her a magpie. She wants to know more about the loan he needs to start his sales plan. He tells her he doesn’t know how or when he will get the money but he swears he will. Ale gets her purse and takes out some money to give to Rafa. Well he is not going to become more in debt with her. He is tired of all the humiliation. And now the fun begins.

Ale insists he take the money and Rafa is adamant he won’t. We have a funny little scene of Ale accosting Rafa and trying to force the money in his pocket. With Rafa valiantly defending his honor. Guess who walks in. Beltran. This doesn’t exactly look right to him, the two of them tussling about. (it was a pretty funny if not compromising looking scene).

He wants to know what is going on. Ale is petrified as she straightens out her dress and Rafa is speechless. Beltran tells Rafa to leave and go to work. Beltran angrily tells Ale he wants her in his office now!!! Ale is all “What did I do” then gets a worried look on her face.

We have the crew continuing their plan to seduce Susana. They need to come up with someone. Bow-tie guy figures it has to be Marino. That idea doesn’t fly. Ramiro isn’t exactly the right candidate either. Rafa is out because of Vicky Vicky Vicky and what ever he has going on with Ale. That leaves them with Dandy.

He agrees but he will need certain information about Susana. This job is left up to Claudia and Rosario. They will become his spies. He needs all the dish on Susana. So it is settled. Dandy will do the dirty work and the girls will get all the information he needs. They will start now and invite her out to eat.

Ale walks out of her office and tells Susana she has to go see Beltran. After what he just saw in her office it isn’t going to be easy to convince him she isn’t maltreating the vendors. (Good luck with that Ale). Susana wants to know what Beltran saw and she said she saw him trying to kill Rafa.

Now we are in Beltrans’ office and he wants to know what is going on between her and Rafa. Why is she treating him the way she does. She tells him he isn’t meeting his goals. And hasn’t come up with a good plan of sales for the month Beltran reminds her that they are talking about Rafael the “million dollar a month Medina“

Beltran tells her the vendors are right, she is treating them badly. Ale drops her jaw at this. He continues and says this is causing lots of problems and he is worried about the bottom line. Ale says so now I am the problem. They didn‘t meet their obligations last month.

Beltran tells her to calm down. He‘s not talking about blame. He‘s talking about a serious problem. She says if he thinks she is not doing her job that maybe she should quit. Beltran tells her that it isn‘t that she is doing a bad job, they need to come up with a different solution.

Odd scene number two. Rafa is out on the street and runs into a bunch of nuns. They cant get their car started. Poor Rafa cant say no to anyone. He ends up having to open the hood, but is worried about getting his suit messed up and getting in trouble with Ale for not working.

Back to Beltran and Ale. He tells her tomorrow they start their new exercise with Bow-tie guy and she is invited to come.

Claudia and Rosario invite Susana out for lunch. She is a little suspicious that they are trying to influence her to not submit their bad reports or to conspire against Ale. They assure her this is not the case. She finally agrees to go out with them.

Odd scene number three. And this scene was about as odd as they come. It takes place at trancazo. Some stranger walks in all swaggery and bellowing and goes to sit down. Of course the chair breaks. This happens a couple of times. Delores rushes over. We have a very long scene of the two of them and to be honest I did not understand a whole lot of what this was about. They decide to put on a dance completion at Trancazo. And the winner will get 15 days of free service. (or something like that.)

Ale is telling Susana all about her meeting with Beltran and it wasn’t good. He blamed her for all the problems. He blamed her temperament (of all the nerve, ha ha!!) Susana says that it isn’t fair. The poor sales last month was not Ales fault but Susanas’ because she was in charge. Susana offers to go talk to Beltran. Ale tells her it isn’t right that her assistant should have to defend her.

Susana tells her she is going to go out to eat. Ale is curious about this. Does she have a date. Susana assures her it is just with Claudia and Rosario. Ale is suspicious of their intentions. She accuses her of going out with the enemy.

Susana becomes defensive. Ale says they are just going out with her to get information about her. To turn her against her. Susana asks her if she doubts her loyalty. Ale says no.

Our final little scene is very scary. We have a very crazed Vicky pacing up and down. Trying to come up with a plan to get Rafa to marry her as soon as possible. It comes to her and it is very clear, as she pats her stomach. Okay all you telenovela experts, what do you think her plan is?

El Clon #27, 3/23. Around her hair she wore a yellow ribbon.

Jade and Lucas meet in the street. Extended gazes. Said and Marisa step up to their spouses, without realizing what just happened. Said says he’ll spend all his money to make Jade beautiful, and Marisa wants to do the same - spend all Lucas’s money on herself.

Random scene, Ali is fighting with one of his wives. He in Spanish and she in Arabic. Later Abdul arrives to mediate. He proves that Ali has given the same amount of gold to each. Alone, Abdul asks why Ali doesn’t divorce the contentious one, and Ali says he’s getting close to that. Zoraida sees that Jade is hiding the phone book so she takes it and tells Jade that she will/does tell Ali everything. (The verb is in present tense, but that can be used for near future as well.)

At the hotel, Marisa complains about the heat. She wants to stop at the store to buy some tee-shirts for her friends, as gifts from her travels. Did I say tee shirts? I meant jewelry. And one more stop while they’re out - she wants to take him to the cleaners. Lucas tries to call Jade but Zoraida answers so he hangs up. Jade tells Zoraida that she saw Lucas in the streets. She’s sure he came looking for her.

Said walks in as Jade is trying to get the phone book from Zoraida. Jade turns on Zoraida and tells Said that she’s causing trouble. (Zoraida is Jade’s protector, provider, and the only one on her side. Jade has just sold her down the river to cover herself. Not smart, Tutz!) “I just wanted to get my hair cut to look beautiful for you, Darling.” Said is delighted. Jade gets out of the house and ditches Zoraida. Meanwhile Lucas ditches Marisa, claiming to go to the company attorney’s office.

Luisa tells Frankenalbi that he needs to stop spending so much time with Daniel. She’s fed up, and Dora is getting fed up too. Dora gets a call from Albi, and she tells him she wants to take her son out, ALONE. Albi says, Sure, I’ll come by and pick you up in 15 minutes.” Vicky warns Dora that if she doesn’t stand up to Albi, he’ll take her son from her.

Don’t you just love Jade’s “prayer”? “Allah, protect Zoraida and the others I’ve put in danger. I just want to be happy.” Well bless her heart. “Bring Lucas to me. I want to be with him forever.” In other words, “Allah, please bless my adultery and help me to abandon my husband and cause Lucas to leave his wife.” I don’t remember that one in any of the creeds. Sure enough, Lucas arrives.

She asks him why he didn’t meet her in Miami. He simply says, “I was late” but he doesn’t answer the “why?” part. She had hoped that he would interrupt her wedding, and he says he felt really, really awful. Doesn’t that count the same as actually doing something? He tells her how much he suffered for her, so she asks him why he married Marissa. Good question. “Well, you did it first!” Bad answer. She points out that she was forced to marry (not quite true; Ali told Jade he would not force her to marry), but Lucas married because he wanted to. Lucas tells her that he was lost without her, and he never stopped thinking about her kisses and her beauty. Jade is delighted. These two really deserve each other. He starts to undress her. Cut to later. She tells him she has committed countless sins for him, and one day she will pay for them. She tells him that if they are discovered, Said can have her killed or given 100 lashes (resulta igual). But all that matters is seeing him.

At the big house, Leo gives a minion an envelope for Cristina, but she gives it back to the minion and tells him that as far as she’s concerned, Leo doesn’t exist. But then she changes her mind and keeps it.

Said comes to Ali’s house to take her to the airport, but Ali says she hasn’t been there for hours.

As they’re getting dressed, Lucas explains to Jade that he didn’t know whether he’d find her, and his wife is along on the trip, so, gee whiz, honey, it’s been fun, and I’ll come back to pick you up just as soon as I can. As we hear strains of… what’s the classic song, where the woman wanders around town, waiting for the man who promised he’d come back for her? All I can think of is the GI cadence, “Yellow Ribbon,” (lyrics below) but I know there’s another one. He says, “I know I’ve failed you many times in your escape attempts, but Baby I love you.” She’s had enough. “Sueltame!” she says. “I finally realized, you’re incapable of sacrificing anything for me. I was a fool to believe you. If we don‘t run a way now, you‘ll never see me again.” He begs two weeks; he can’t just leave Marisa in a foreign country. Jade reminds him that he left her waiting TWICE. But he can’t do the same to his wife? Good point. He suggests that he hide her in a hotel for a week, while he takes Marisa back to the states and returns for her. No way. She tells him to do what he needs to do, and she will wait here at the ruins until dawn. After that, bye, bye baby. He tries to embrace her, but she won’t let him; she tells him to do what he needs to do first. Gee, if she had done that BEFORE having sex with him, maybe she’d be on the plane by now!

Zoraida knows it’s time to face the music. She returns to the house and goes down on her knees to face the men. She tells them Jade escaped. Ali’s look says, “Not again!” Said has steam pouring out his ears. Said is afraid she was kidnapped, so he dashes out to tell the police. This worries Ali, but he turns his attention to Zoraida. “She went after Lucas, right?” He swears that if he finds her he will give her the punishment the law demands, even if it breaks his heart. Zoraida tells Ali that she thinks Jade meets Lucas at the ruins.

Cristina shows her prize to Vicky - a check for ten thousand dollars. Vicky is surprised Cris will accept it (but not VERY surprised), since Cris said she’d rather die of hunger than accept anything from Leo. To quote Dr. McCoy, “I was drugged then, Jim.” Cris points out that this is Leo’s apology, and it would be rude to reject an apology. Cris decides to use the money to market her own line of beauty products. After all, what woman wouldn’t want to look like Cris?

Mohamed, Latifa, and Nariza are at the mall. This is a funny sequence! Osvaldo spots Nariza and checks her out, very interested. Then he turns and sees Dora with Daniel and Frankenalbi. Osvaldo points out the obvious, that Danny doesn’t look a bit like him. A few stores later, Mohammed decides to buy his gazelle a bikini for his eyes alone, and Ozzie sets his eyes on Nariza once again. Notice how silent she is when she’s trying to attract a man? Proof: she can stop that mouth when she’s motivated. Ozzie tells her, “You’re wrapped up just like a present.” Mo is indignant that these westerners won’t haggle with him. The noive! Nariza flirts with Osvaldo a little more before she has to leave. He’s enchanted by the mystery woman.

Lucas gets back to the hotel and Marisa lays into him. Did you see her? Yes. Lucas tries to explain. “I believe we got married without thinking about it.” No, duh! He says they were both mourning Diego, and they confused nostalgia with love. He wants a divorce. She says, “You mean you want to leave me to be with that filth?” She also tells him, “I love you. And you’re a loser. You’re not half the man Diego was.” He says, “We don’t have anything that unites us, only things that separate us. This marriage is finished.” She throws a fit and he throws her on the bed. She turns cold again and says, “Did you only see her, or did you get busy with her?” He says nothing happened, but he defends himself, that she always knew he loved Jade. She starts beating on him, and being a gentlemen, he can’t strike back. He says he loves Jade and intends to spend the rest of his life with her.

Here is the cadence, “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.”
My boots traveled many miles to that tune.

Around her hair she wore a yellow ribbon
She wore it in the springtime
In the merry month of May
And if you ask her why the heck she wore it
She wore it for her soldier who was far far away

Around the block she pushed a baby carriage
She pushed it in the springtime
In the Merry month of May
And if you ask her why the heck she pushed it
She pushed it for her soldier who was far far away

Behind the door her daddy kept a shotgun
He kept it in the springtime
In the merry month of May
And if you ask him why the heck he kept it
He kept it for her soldier who was far far away

Corazon Salvaje, Tuesday, March 23: Ep 23--Can't none of y'all handle the truth.

Arcadio leaves Remigio to clean up Dungeon room 1B. In room 1A, Arcadio gags Maria del Rosario and threatens them both to keep quiet. Then he goes back to 1B and leaves Remigio with a trunk and a plank of wood to build a table out of. He goes off, mumbling to himself that Sra. Leonarda will have to be informed.

Clemencia is excited as Regina swishes around some film and she can see a face. Reggie works her chemical magic and finally Juan del Diablo's face is revealed. Clemencia runs off and Regina grinds her teeth together.

Clemencia goes down to the fishermen and tells them she knows something's up. First the gardenias, and now the face of that man who reminds her of Juan de Dios San Roman. Pedro denies knowing anything and Santos parrots him. Clemencia gives them both a dirty look and leaves. Santos wonders if she believed them, but Pedro says they had to lie, for everyone's good. He hopes God will forgive them.

Regina gets so upset over the picture of Juan that she rips it up. She feels he's done them too much harm. Remigio comes in to see if she needs anything else and asks her if she remembers him. He reminds her about the day she got scolded for buying a cookie from him. She does remember and is happy to actually know his name now. He's surprised when she offers her hand for him to shake and wipes it off on his vest first. He tells her he's got to go do some more work. "Ve con Dios," she says (go with God). Remigio replies that he could really use some divine illumination.

Remigio leaves flowers at his mom's grave, as does Juan. Juan is ready to talk now. Remi warns him that he won't let him become a killer. Juan says he made a promise to his dad and came back to get revenge. Remi is ok with that, but it had better be a murderless revenge. He won't watch Juan throw his life away. Juan tells Remigio that he's like a father to him and he saved his life. "If you value that life at all, then I order you…I'll order you if it's necessary…not to go against the fifth commandment of God's law." For those of us who skipped Sunday school, he reminds Juan that he's referring to the one about not killing. Just in case Juan didn't get the picture. Got that, Juan? No killing.

Juan goes to talk to Maria del Rosario's tomb. He asks her for a sign to lead him to how to carry out revenge without killing. Clemencia walks in right then. She sees Juan from behind and thinks "Is it possible?" She notices the birthmark on his neck and knows it's him. She places his mother's rosary over his shoulder, startling him, and tells him that it's his. "Your mother's rosary." She cries and calls him her boy while hugging him around the middle--since that's as high as she can reach. Juan just looks kind of freaked out, like someone forgot to tell big Ed they were filming this scene today. Clemencia goes on to say "You're Maria del Rosario's son! You are Juan de Dios San Roman Montes de Oca!" That's a mouthful to call out on the playground. Better watch it, boy, she knows ALL your names and she's not afraid to use them! Juan blinks in slow motion as we go to commercials.

Clemencia can't get over having Juan in front of her. She's stroking his face and kissing his hand. Juan wants to know what she knows about him and who she is. Clemencia says what's important is what she needs to tell him about his mother.

Mirta struggles to move Maria del Rosario's chair around so that she can see the window. A dove flies in and MdR, still bound and gagged, thought bubbles, "I found him in the sea, I lost him in the sea, and only the sea can return him."

Clemencia tells Juan that his mother died a few minutes after giving birth to him. She thanks God and the Virgen for granting her the miracle of having him in her arms again. She calls him Juan de Dios and he wonders how she knows that's his name. Clemencia tells him that she wrote the letter to ask that he be baptized with that name. Juan says that means he owes her his life. Clemencia denies it and says it's his mom that he owes, and God. She reminds him that God gives life and only God can decide when it's over. Juan remembers asking his mother for a sign. Hey, man, you asked for a sign, you got a sign, and you can't complain if it's not the sign you wanted!

Down on the beach, Pedro, Santos, and Remigio are having a little chat about their buddy Juan. Remigio feels bad about laying down the law, but he's determined to keep Juan from turning into a murderer (drink!). Pedro and Santos are in agreement. Santos is ok with the revenge bit, just not the killing.

Arcadio rides out to meet Leonarda's carriage. He calls out to warn her and she points to the other carriage window, where Rosenda is sitting, so he changes what he was going to say to "The merchandise you left with me, um, it's about to be discovered." Leo tells him to get back to the finca and watch over "the merchandise" until she gets there. She calls to the coachman to hurry it up. Rosenda tries to wheedle more information out of Leo, saying that Arcadio seemed mighty upset, but golly gee, it's so hard for her to understand what he was upset about. "You know you can trust me, right? Maybe you want to tell me something, hm?" Leo says she'll consider it.

Regina finds yet another picture of Juan del Diablo. She remembers Aimee telling her that until she's been with a big strapping man like Juan Double D, she won't really know what lust is. There's a new nickname for him, I-Juan-A-Know-What-Lust-Is. Regina rips up yet another picture and assures the room that she'll NEVER end up in the arms of that savage. Which, of course, means she's guaranteed to. Nice going, Santa Regina.

Juan sits by a hut on the beach with Curly, who notices Juan is sad. Curly says he's never (in all his day and a half of having known Juan) seen Juan like this. Curly reminds Juan that Juan can count on him for whatever, cause he owes his freedom to Juan. And also because he and Juan are exactly alike. Juan agrees that they both suffered because they didn't start out life with fathers who loved and cared for them. Curly says that now he has Juan and the other fishermen. Juan tells Curly that he's his family now. Curly agrees and says there's nothing more important than family. Juan thought bubbles that he's a Montes de Oca, like it or not, and he's got their blood in his veins.

Pedro comes to Juan with a painting of his dad that Mabel painted. That so does not look like Juan Sr. Pedro tells Juan that everybody loved and respected his dad and that despite all his pain, Juan Sr. never turned into a killer. The horse. It is dead. Stop beating it! Curly asks Juan what Pedro meant by that. Juan doesn't answer and we cut to the Puerto de Alvarado.

Fed and Roddy are out walking and Fed throws a hissy fit because he thinks he's being snubbed by the other boys on the playground, and all because of that ho! Rod tells him that if any of the boys give him trouble, Roddy will set them straight. Fed mentions that he went to see Reggie and she agreed that they can be friends. Rod thinks that's a good start. He's sure Fed will end up earning her love, as long as he's patient and persistent. "Trust me, I know women." Ja. Ja. Jajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajajaja. Ja. Ok, I'm fine now. Rod gets a message that Noel needs to talk to him ASAP and leaves.

Regina is still hanging up pictures as Leonarda comes in screaming at the top of her lungs that Reggie doesn't have permission to be down here and that only Arcadio is allowed.

Noel has just broken the bad news to Rodrigo and Raul (if I'm remembering his name correctly) that the long-haired guy who they keep being rude to is the authorized representative of their business partner Juan Aldama. He even sent some cablegrams for verification and he shows them the responses he got. Noel widens his eyes significantly when he tells Rodrigo that Santiago's heir, their current business partner, is named JUAN Aldama de la Cruz. Why isn't anyone asking what the "authorized representative"'s name is? Or do they not care? Or is it not significant if his name is also Juan?

Juan del Diablo touches the painting of his dad and remembers his dad making him swear to remember that all their misfortunes are due to the Montes de Ocas. Hm, he didn't explicitly say "revenge" did he? Juan tells Juan Sr. that he was the only one to see him die. "That's why I can't forgive!" Gabriel comes in. Juan shows him the painting and cries. Gabriel notices the family resemblance, that they're both strong men. Juan says he never saw him that way, he saw him turned into a "despojo humano" (a wreck of a man) and all thanks to those horrible, nasty, no-good, rotten Montes de Ocas! So, yeah, he'll have his revenge, thanks, especially now that he's seen Rod. He's realized what a snot Rod is and he thinks he deserves all the suffering Juan has in store for him. Gabriel is concerned that ruining Rod will also ruin Juan. Juan says he's diversified enough that it won't really bother him. Hm, wasn't Renato talking about diversifying the family's investments just yesterday? Those two boys need to get together and get good and drunk and talk about all the things they have in common. And one day, I hope they do. Juan lets Gabriel know that he's already told Noel that he (Juan) is the legal rep for "Juan Aldama de la Cruz." Also, they are expecting Raul to visit. Juan has already confronted him with his embezzlement and he wants Gabe to have all the documents ready to shove in Raul's face at the moment of his triumphant entrance. Gabe is all too happy to get right on that. Juan looks at the painting again. "The hour of my revenge has arrived!"

Clemencia goes to chew out Pedro and Santos for not telling her that Juan de Dios' son had returned. She asks why he doesn't want to get close to his family, "Is he planning something bad?" Santos asks her not to push, they aren't supposed to tell her anything. "Greeeat. One more secret in the Montes de Oca family! Don't you all think it's been enough?" She had always thought that Juan's return would bring peace and calm to the family. Why? What's she been smoking? She tells Pedro and Santos that by their silence she can tell that the Montes de Oca are condemned to a life of "rencor" (resentment) and suffering. She leaves and Santos and Pedro look at each other guiltily.

Regina asks Leo what the big flippin' deal is. "I've only seen you get this upset once before, on the day you found the bouquet of gardenias in the room." Reggie wonders why it's so bad for her to be in there. Leo says that Reggie is in danger because the place is in ruins and what would happen if it all crumbled with her in there? Reggie says it can't be that bad if Arcadio lives down there. "Oh, well, his room is reinforced, just not the rest." Leo begs her, for her own safety, to get out as soon as possible. She offers that if Regina needs a darkroom to develop her, uh, "images,"…"They're photographs"…whatever, she'll get a room in the house fixed up for her. Reggie says she didn't want to upset her and she'll gladly take a room in the house. "See how easy it is for us to get along!" Leo tells Arcadio to relocate all of Reggie's stuff to…"The attic?" Leo agrees with the suggestion and tells Arcadio to move all of it. Reggie is worried he won't do it carefully enough, but Leo pushes her out of the room. Arcadio dismantles the makeshift table and shoves the trunk…Maria del Rosario's trunk…into a corner of the room, covering it with rags. He grabs Regina's camera and leaves and we see that all the bits of pictures of Juan are on the floor. Uh, oh, are those going to make it back to mommy?

Regina and Leo walk back into the house. Regina passes on going up to see if the attic will work for her, she trusts Leo's judgment. She asks to stay outside in the garden. Rosenda walks up after Leo goes inside. "I heard you got kicked out of the 'pasadizos'" (passages). "OUR godmother doesn't like anyone going in there." Regina tells Rosenda that Leo told her they were in a bad state and there could be a cave in. Rosenda agrees that might be true, but points out that Leo gets really upset when she finds out someone goes in there. "Sometimes I ask myself, Why does she get so upset?" Rosenda claims that she's just concerned because in some way she's obligated to watch over what's going on at the finca. And to watch out for Leonarda and Renato. "Just like you. Because I'm sure you're also worried about Don Renato's well-being." Rosenda says she can tell just by looking at Reggie when Renato's around. "I don't mean to offend you with my words. I'm just an employee here, but you can trust me. I know how to keep secrets, and I can be your friend, too, and tell you what I see. Above all, when your sister goes out to walk around." Rosenda takes her leave and Reggie makes a face.

Clemencia has a very concerned chat with a very concerned-looking Virgencita. She doesn't know why no one's telling her anything, but she's afraid that hate is stronger than love and revenge will destroy them all. There's a knock on the door and Clemencia dries her tears and answers the door to Regina. Clemencia tells Reggie not to worry about her running off earlier, it was just "cosas de viejas" (old lady stuff). Regina comments that Cemencia is always praying to the Virgen del Carmen (aka, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the Carmelite order and patron saint of Chile…so I don't know why Clemencia is praying to her and not the Virgen de Guadalupe, but there you have it) and asks why she's doing so just now. Clemencia sits her down to talk. "Regina, I've been thinking about the things happening between you and your sister and I want to beg you to keep this in mind: when something comes between two sisters, the hate takes over their hearts and it destroys their peace. I'd know. Regina, there's something that's been tormenting me, and I need you to tell me, is your love for Renato strong enough to turn you against your sister, and even do her serious harm?" Regina says it's not. She loves her sister and doesn't wish for anything bad to happen to her. She wonders what makes Clemencia doubt. "Years ago, when neither you nor Aimee was born, I found out the story of two sisters. The hate of one destroyed the other." She doesn't want that to happen to Regina and Aimee. "Resign yourself to not having Renato's love and instead of judging your sister, be closer to her. Because if she really is in danger, then you need to save her instead of condemning her."

Leo blames Arcadio for not following her orders and Arcadio blames Regina for being stubborn and insisting. Leo tells him he'd better tighten up security and quit drinking. "What if someone gets in here and finds out that my sister is alive? That day, both our luck runs out." Arcadio reminds her that he wanted to kill MdR in the first place. "Muerto el perro, se acaba la rabia" (If the dog is dead, the rabies is finished). He heads out with a knife and Leo just ineffectually gasps and sputters and says nothing. Arcadio goes in and laughs at Mirta for trying to protect MdR. He calls her stupid and pushes her down. He points the knife at MdR, but she looks at him and he just unties her gag and cuts the ropes tying her to the chair. He warns them both that at the first scream, he'll cut their throats. He leaves and Mirta finishes untying MdR and hugs her.

Leonarda gets a visit from Eloisa. She seems thrilled. Not. Eloisa says she decided to come get Aimee and they could go shopping. "Fulgencio leaves me alone so often, the only entertainment I have is to spend his money." Aimee comes downstairs and asks for permission to go, "Maybe we'll find pretty things to decorate mine and Renato's bedroom." Dun, dun, dun, says the music. Eloisa reminds Leo that she's a respectable married woman and people need to get a look at Renato Montes de Oca's bride-to-be. She'll be the envy of all the marriage-age women. Leo gives in and tells her not to be too long. "Don't forget for a moment that you're engaged to my son, jajaja, and that you should be respectful." "Oh, I'd never forget because Renato's so, so honorable, and I always try to live up to him." Gag. Aimee promises not to be long and to bring back a little surprise for Leo. Blah-blah-blah, like a mother to me. The two tramps head out. Leo thought bubbles that she'd like nothing more than to be Aimee's mother, as long as she also got to be Rod's wife.

Rod and Feddy walk along as Rod complains that life appears to be mocking him by having that scruffy looking nerfherder as the legal representative of their business partner. Fed asks if he doesn't have to get along with him, for the sake of the business. Rod refuses to lower himself to the level of an "aventurero" (adventurer…but he probably means good-for-nothing peasant). Fed asks what happens when Sr. Juan Aldama de la Cruz shows up. Wait a second here, is Foppy Feddy acting as the voice of reason? Rod claims that he'll demand that Juan fire that "fantoche" (presumptuous puppet, poser) for all the terrible things he's done in Juan's name. He's sure that Juan will listen to his advice. "Being a gentleman isn't a pose or an attitude, and remember this: he lives nobly who is of nobility." Okay, Polonius, whatever. Fed is confused. He goes chasing after Rod.

At the finca, they're cutting cane and Renato is putting in some good hard work. Remigio is instructing the others on how to do it right.

Regina walks near the house, pondering what Clemencia told her. She kneels down and starts praying. Renato walks in and she tries to run from him, but he grabs her and asks why she's running. "Oh, um, I was just going inside the house, that's all." "Don't lie. You never lied to me before." He asks her to forgive him for being brusque, but they've always been close, like siblings, and she's been his best friend, soon to be his sister. He feels like she isn't even interested in having him for a brother-in-law, so he really wanted to talk to her. Regina says there's no point talking about it. "Soon, I won't cause any problems because soon I'll go back to the house at the port." "You feel so bad here at the finca? My presence is so disagreeable to you?" He strokes her face and asks her what's up. "I can see you're suffering. I'd have to be blind not to notice that your eyes are fighting back tears." The narrator narrates, "With what terrible effort did Regina reign in her heart, which 'desbocado' [runaway] is about to leave her chest? With what enormous strength of will does she contain her tears, which have formed a knot in her throat, like a rope threatening to suffocate her? Meanwhile her only free hand closes firmly, digging her nails into her skin with the intention of calming herself." Regina thanks Renato for his concern, but says he shouldn't give so much importance to her tears. "It's just my nerves, and missing the convent." She tells him she had no intention of offending anyone last night, she just asked her sister if she was sure about her feelings. "I think with respect to marriage that it's better to change your mind an hour before than a minute after." Renato wonders why Aimee would change her mind. "Or don't you think I'm worthy of her? Sometimes it's not necessary to say things with words what can be clearly understood with deeds." Renato now thinks that Regina is avoiding him because she doesn't like him as a husband for her sister. He begs her to just talk about it openly. "You stopped being my friend once you realized I was in love with Aimee. Since then you've treated me with indifference, coldness, antipathy." He asks her why and asks what he' done to her, what she has against him. "Are you afraid I won't make your sister happy? That's it, isn't it? What are my failings? What are the defects you find in me? Please speak honestly to me! I need the truth!" Oh, Renato, you can't handle the truth. And neither can Regina, apparently, since she says nothing.

Aimee and Eloisa have a drink at the café. Eloisa points out some men who are looking at the two of them. Aimee gets her into the game of rating them from 1-10. She declares Bachelor #1 a 6 and Bachelor #2 a 7. Eloisa giggles and says they're all very attractive. "Isn't at least one of them an 8?" Aimee thinks the guy in the yellow suit might merit a 9, but Eloisa disagrees and says that in "la intimidad" (intimacy; i.e., in the bedroom) he doesn't deserve more than a 5. Aimee toasts to that. I looked for information on the history of rating things on a scale of 1-10, but Google did not come through for me. Still, I feel fairly comfortable declaring this to be anachronistic.

Renato is still begging for an answer. Regina says there's no point. She admits that Renato is flawless and any woman would want him. "Are you praising me or making fun of me?" Regina says she would never make fun of him. "If I seem incomprehensible to you and the rest of the family it's because now we live in different worlds. That's why I'm asking you to forget about me, for all of you to forget, and for you to be happy. Your happiness will be mine." He goes after her, but she escapes, calling back to him to just forget about her, already! Renato is handsomely confused and dismayed.

Regina goes back to her bedroom and asks God why he keeps pushing her limits and making her face temptation and wake her memories, why, why, why does the test have to be so hard? "I need your mercy and your understanding. Mercy! Mercy! Mercy!" God: "Hey, quit blaming me for this. You're the one who lacks the cojones to be honest about your feelings. Pues, allá tu!" (that's your problem)

Tomorrow: Juan and Gabriel practice fencing; Aimee takes a bubble bath; Aimee tells Regina that tonight she's going to tell Juan that she's marrying Renato; Juan gets upset; Raul is confused and Juan tells him to just follow orders; Juan brings a blindfolded Aimee to the beach.

Dinero #47, 3/23/10: A Mutiny at the Siglo

Hey, all! I'm covering for Melinama tonight so I set up the space earlier today. Anyway, on with the show...

The employees scatter and do anything they can to hide when they see Ale walk in. Ale catches Ismael/El Bebé and questions him about where everyone else went. Ale calls Ramirez’s cell phone, which gives away his hiding place when it rings.

Nelson, Claudia, Ramiro, and Rosaura are hiding in restroom stalls when Ale calls Rosa’s cell phone. Rosaura lies about being with a client and Ale plays along until she barges into the bathroom. They all file out like children caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Vicky is waiting at Rafa’s when he gets home from work. She’s angry about his wearing a new suit. Leonor admires Rafa’s new watch and congratulates him on being employee of the month a second time. Too bad he won’t see any of his check, since he had to give it all to Ale. Rafa’s sure nothing is good enough for Ale. She’s gotten worse since the operation.

Ale searches for Ramiro and he crawls out from under a table to keep her from calling his wife. She has a whole list of disparaging adjectives for everyone (abusive, inept, irresponsible). Ale questions where Rafa is and Rosaura tells him he left to plan his wedding with Vicky. *anvil*

Ale is so surprised she starts to get woozy. The gang guides her to a chair but it breaks the moment she sits down. Ale dusts herself off and warns them they better be at work on time the next morning. She grimaces as she walks away and, once she’s out of earshot, everyone cracks up.

Vicky flutters around with excitement because the wedding is going to be in two weeks. News for Leonor and Rafa who thought it wouldn’t be for three more months. Rafa uses the same reasons as usual: no time, not enough dinero, etc. Vicky says Rafa can live in her house until they get their own place; her padre can take care of anything they need. Both Rafa and Leonor think it’s a bad idea.

Ale gets home and Marco is wild for Ale when he sees her new look. She’s still irritated at him for standing her up at the airport and dodges most of his advances.

Ale asks what the doctor said about her padre’s health. Marco tells her Jorge only has two months left to live. (What a worm.) Ale is crushed. Marco wants to get married as soon as possible so Jorge can see them happy together. Ale thinks it’s best if they don’t get married. (Backfired!)

Marco says Jorge told him he wanted to see them together. Marco turns up the waterworks and says Jorge is like the father he never had. But he’s going to leave the decision up to Ale. She looks torn over what to do.

Rafa is talking to Vicky about not being able to afford a honeymoon. Vicky says it’s already being handled. They’re going to stay with her uncle in Cancun for 20 days. Rafa doesn’t want to go because of all the work he would miss; Vicky wants him to forget it since he can always work in the butcher shop with her padre.

Rafa doesn’t want to be dependant on Vicky’s family but Vicky doesn’t want her Pajarito to be dependent on his Jefa like he has been

Marco and Ale are having dinner with Jorge and Rosario. Marco wants to get hitched in two to three weeks but Ale doesn’t think it’s enough time to organize everything for 200 people.

Rosario suggests they have the ceremony in the hacienda. It’s the perfect place! Marco gulps and says he’ll have to clear it with Chavez first. Rosario says Chavez doesn’t own the place and, if she has to, she’ll take it up with him herself. Marco swears he can handle it himself.

Rafa lounges in his room with one of the pictures from the fiesta. He tells himself to snap out of it. It was just a dream and now he has to continue living the nightmare. (Aww. Just makes you want to give him a hug.)

Ramiro is criticized by his wife for not making enough money. Señorita Reyes, the sexual therapist, saunters out of the kitchen and chats him up. She wants to help him learn to have self-esteem. Unfortunately for Ramiro, his father-in-law interrupts. It was just daydream. His father-in-law guesses Ramiro was fantasizing about a woman.

Marco is all lips and hands but Ale pushes him away. She’s had a terrible day because none of the employees met their quotas. Marco asks about “the criminal”. Ale grins when she says Rafa is the only one who came through for the month. Marco tries yet again to get closer to Ale but she says they have time to be together once they get married. “You taught me that.” (Ouch! A dig because of how he treated her earlier. I don’t think he picked up on it, though.)

Rosario asks Ale to look over the bills for the month. Ale is outraged how expensive the electric and phone bills are. Rosario sticks up for Marco’s excesses by praising how he volunteered to take care of Jorge while Ale was away, getting the operation he paid for.

Rafa gets his wake-up call from Ale. He’s happy to hear from her but Ale spouts acid as usual. Rafa tells himself to get his head out of the clouds. Ale’s call is nothing but a nightmare.

Pepeto stops by Rafa’s house, looking sharp in a suit. He gives Rafa his business card, which displays his full name (Jose Tomas Moreno) and declares he is a sales executive at a car company.

Pepeto has decided to help Rafa sharpen his skills since Pepe is a self-declared master in sales. They take off for the Siglo in Pepeto’s car, but not before Julieta and Pepeto get some flirting in.

Ale lets out all her frustrations on Susana. She’s still steamed about finding all the employees at the Trancazo. Ale is more subdued when she tells Susana that Rafa wasn’t there because he was off planning his wedding.

Pepeto calls a buddy on the phone and lies about the attributes of Rafa’s car in order to sell it. Rafa doesn’t approve of lying to make a sale but Pepeto doesn’t bat an eyelash about it.

Ale sees Rafa chatting with Pepeto and automatically assumes Rafa’s up to no good. Pepe waits outside while Rafa tires to explain that Pepeto is a friend who works at Pro Autos (the name according to the captions). Ale goes through the roof; Pro Autos is their competition! She berates Rafa for bringing the competition to work with him.

The other employees flock to Rafa and sympathize. Ale is still fuming and is short with Rosaura when she comes in late again. Rosa pleads that her hijo had bronchitis and she had to take him to a doctor. Ale doesn’t believe it and storms off into the meeting room.

Lic. Beltran wanders onto the scene. Everyone starts complaining about what they have to endure at work each day: yelling, insults, etc. They don’t feel up to selling anything when they’re being berated constantly.

Beltran asks Rafa and Ismael if they’re unhappy working there. Ramirez steps on their feet when they try to honestly reply. Beltran takes their yelps as confirmation and says they are going to settle the problem immediately.

Uh oh! Susana scurried behind a plant earlier and heard the whole thing. (I see storm clouds on the horizon…)

Chavez hangs out at the hacienda and gives the help, a guy named Chucho, a warning not to say anything about all the goings on in the past month. Chucho is worried because thinks he saw someone on the property the night before. The neighbors said a ghost has been roaming around. (?) Chavez isn’t worried and tells Chucho to shoot anyone suspicious.

Para Miércoles: Susana tells Ale about what the employees said to Beltran. Rafa gets angry when Ale mentions his wedding and they end up in a scuffle of some sort that Beltran walks in on.

Gancho Tuesday March 23, 2010 Shirleylock and Pooh Bear Have Another Most Excellent Adventure....Not!

Today's episode had me thinking of one of those old Winnie the Pooh stories where our bumbling bear goes floating up in a balloon, disturbs a beehive and comes to grief, stung all over like our pathetic little Arnie. And once again, the previews sucked us into the hope that Salvador would be rescued...but it was not to be. Monita and Mau did end their romantic day by making slow, sensuous love, but sssssserpent Isabel (thanks EJ) disrupts the mood by coming to look for darling daughter. Aldo continues his downward trajectory, but Lalu has been liberated to go bar-hopping in search of a new romance. So, the usual mix of good news and bad news. Lots and lots of Ximena for her fan club but Arny gets tedious, doesn't he? Not sure those two should end up together.

Now on to the details. Estrella confronts Isabel and lets her know that Monita is with Maurico and they're reconciling and there's not a damn thing the viper can do about. (How do you say "famous last words" in Spanish?) Isabel disses Estrella's acting skills and when she admits that Aldo did see her and Mauricio when they were drugged and nude , Hissy smiles evilly and says' well at least some damage has been achieved. Estrella manhandles her a little bit, (go for the shoulder, Estrella!) and pushes her out the door.

Brief scene of Aldo, leaning against a wall, remembering the horrible sight of his girl and his dad in bed together.

Back to the lovers, sitting now on a grassy bank. (Is Carlos nodding off here?) Yes, it's the same old discussion. "Luchar por nuestro amor" comes up. And the conclusion that one of them is wrong. Either Isabel is evil or Marcos is. But it doesn't matter. What matters is the Great Love between them. We have some goofy smiles, a nice shot of Mau's empty but lovely green eyes, soothing, romantic piano music with a somewhat minor harmony. All very nice. And somewhat soporific.

So back to Ximena's and Arny's not so excellent adventure. Arny, having been bitten all over by some kind of "bichos", is now scratching his back like an old bear rubbing up against a tree. A tree holding a huge bee hive (Or is it a hornet's nest? Experts, weigh in) Down it comes. Ximena's wows turn to ooopsies and Arny takes off screaming like a banshee. Ximena is laughing. Nopis. Can't see these two together long-term.

Our lovers have now returned to the boat and Monita's holding the Camera of Doom, taking some playful shots of her and Mau and no doubt using up the roll so it can be developed. Can't wait! Evening falls. The night sky lights up with fabulous fireworks which then spell out Te Amo Monita. She responds in kind. We have another shot of Mau's glazed eyes and pearly-white teeth. And some ads.

When we come back, they're still smooching, murmuring sweet nothings and the capper, "fuegos artificiales....asi se pone mi corazón cuando te veo" (fireworks...just like my heart when I see you) Well, pretty sure this encounter is going to end up in the bedroom. Let's hope so since Mau had to lay out some serious cash for that bonanza.

Time for the dark side. Salvador, still in the creepy cabaña, is asking plaintively for Gabriela. Nurse is trying to calm him down so Oscar doesn't realize he's no longer drugged. Lorenza is out and about. Oscar is furious and sends the nurse to look for her. And makes veiled references to Sal's imminent demise.

We're at the bodega now and I sure hope no firemen are watching this. A gazillion candles are lit (how long have these dang things been burning?) a rather professional scarlet nightie is on the bed and romance is in the air. No need for nightie. Mau is going to dedicate himself completely to Monita until dawn. Off slides the jacket. Off slides the shirt. Damnation!...more ads.

Double damnation. Now we're back to the very unsexy Arny screaming about his various bites. Ximena lays a little philosophy on him. These little animalitos are just a part of nature. Another precious link in the "cadena alimenticia" (food chain) and he can either see "el vaso medio lleno o medio vacio" (the glass half full or half empty). Forget philosophy. Arny is hungry. This reminds Ximena of a film she saw where a plane crashed in the mountains and the survivors ate one another. Mutual look of horror. Fortunately our little woodswoman decides now is the time to build a campfire (prender una fogata).

While she's doing this, we see Aldo heading back to the strangely congenial drug dealer. He agrees to give Aldo some more pills on credit and even slips him some cash for food. But bring dinero the next time, kid!

Harsh words for the nurse as well. Oscar's reaming her out for letting Lorenza go on the grounds. She protests that she couldn't leave Sal. He protests that Sal's a piece of furniture and she certainly could. He and Jeronimo head out to look for her and Nurse suggests to Sal that now is the time to make their escape.

Sensuous love scene. Mauricio is of the slow hand variety of lover. Candles burning. The camera focuses on the flame and next we see the flames of Ximena's campfire. Another nifty transition. However, this is no cosy campfire. Ximena's idea of camping involves visions of evil witches with "pelos raros" (strange hair) ready to seize hapless peasants and rip their hearts out. Suddenly a moaning distraught (and strange haired) Lorenza appears out of the shadows. Now both Ximena and Arny are screaming.

Back to our lovers. They're in that dreamy post-amour lull but our Mauricio is sad. Without telling Monita the real reason for Aldo's disappearance (he implies it was because he stopped the wedding) he vows to spend the next day searching high and low for him. He has all her support. More smooching ensues.

Back to the woods. Arny is exhausted from all the running and screaming. He's on the verge of a heart attack. Nopis. We can't stay here, sez Ximena. But pretend I'm a tree. Now hug the tree. I'll protect you. And hug you back. We'll walk together. Awww...now that was sweet. Not sure where it rates on EJ's meter, but pretty high up in my opinion.

Rolu and Lalu. Not so sweet. In fact, pretty darned distraught. Edgy. Cranky and worried. So much so that Lalu's French manicure is ruined. Tragedy. The truth comes out. Arny is NOT gay. Cara impactada Lalu. More ads.

Now Nurse and Salvador are fleeing through the murky woods. Well, not fleeing exactly. Sal is dragging and then he turns his ankle (torció el tobillo). Nurse checks it and pronounces it an "esguince" (sprain). Heads back for something to brace it with.

And speaking of injuries, how about Lalu's broken heart!? He's playing that violin for all it's worth, lamenting his self-esteem dragged down to the floor by Arny's constant rejections. Nosiree, that doesn't just get canceled by a little apology Mr. Rolu! Well, maybe it does. He didn't fall in love with Arny after all. No? What about those love letters? Ximena wrote them. Yikes, Arny wrote MY love letters, admits Rolu. Two caras impactadas. What if Xime and Arny have fallen in love? And run away together? Zounds.

Double zounds. Salvador staggers out of the dark and scares the bejesus out of Xime and Arny. "Sigue la luz" (follow the light) yelps our favorite New Age Valley Girl. Help me, Sal croaks. To no avail. Our two detectives run off in a fright and Lorenza finds him instead. And then our hapless couple is found by Oscar and dragged back to the cabaña.

Meanwhile Shirleylock and Pooh Bear have wandered out on the highway and encountered Jeronimo, trolling along in his sports car. He reluctantly rescues them (Why, of all the millions of people on the planet does this happen to me? he moans). There's some pantomime pointing to Arny's puffy face and Arny's hapless shrugs and we learn how to offer your lap to someone. Since there's only one seat available Xime says "Me cargas o te cargo?" Arny ends up on HER lap. Go figure.

Lots of sturm und drang back at the apartment. Rolu is in full paranoia, sure that Xime and Arny are having an affair. Grabs her picture and throws it (and his apple) to the floor. Lalu tenderly retrieves the picture, dusts it off and tells Rolu to get a grip. That kind of thing only happens in the movies. Sure 'nough, at that moment, the phone rings. A happy, innocent Ximena burbles that she and Arny have just been rescued and are on their way home. Worries over, Lalu heads off to the bar to find a new love (Un clavo siempre saca a un otro clavo. Y a mi encantan los clavos!) Never thought about the phallic overtones of that dicho until now. Thanks Lalu.

Mientras tanto Aldo has arrived by taxi to the house (guess that's where the food money went) and is lolling on the sofa, still tortured by the visions of Dad and Estrella in bed together. More ads.

Now Oscar arrives back, furious that Salvador also escaped. Nurse quickly makes up a story about heading to the kitchen for tea. Maybe Salvador's building up a resistance to the medication? Fine, from now on give him a double dose. He won't be a disturbance much longer, threatens Oscar. And what is that kid doing here!? Gets very rough with our little guy. Shoves him and tries to throw him out. Aldo pleads his case. Oscar decides it's safer to keep him around. In his drugged state he might slip and let out the secret of Salvador's existence....and location.

Now a brief respite with our three game girls, Estrella, Gabriela and Paula (who's looking quite nifty lately. Snazzy makeup, no glasses, whassup with that?) They're musing about the mad passionate love Mauricio and Monita must be making right this very moment. Particularly given that hot nightie, red roses and flaming candles. Some sighs and yearning looks. I'm with you gals. Let's spread this around a little bit.

Just as our cozy lovers are wishing time would stand still, the doorbell rings. It's the wicked witch, pretending to be worried about Monita's whereabouts (dang Estrella for telling her where she is). Monita apologizes for not letting her know. Mauricio adds that they've reconciled. Both tell her they're very happy. Hissy's face sours and she makes a visible effort to fake a happy smile herself. But barely manages. And there we end.

Previews:
Constanza is chiding Isabel for failing to have Monita see the entangled bodies of Mau and Estrella. But Isabel informs her she took pictures.
And at breakfast the next day, we see Monita holding the Camera of Doom.
