La Sombra del Pasado #124 (Mx 127) - Mon 8/10 - Uncertainty

After Sev slaps Cande, Dominga helps her up.  Sev goes on a really bizarre rant about how Cande never loved him and that's why he sought out Roberta.  He put her on a pedestal, and now he knows she was always thinking of Padre J when she was, uh, "with" Sev.  He's acting heartbroken over it, with tears and everything, but the question is…is he really?  And more importantly, does anybody care or are we all handing him quarters?  Cande taunts Sev with "At least he's a whole man, and I don't mean your missing arm."  I suppose she means his soul.  Sev taunts back with "At least I'm a real man and not one who put on a cassock rather than fighting for the woman he loves.  But of course, he doesn't know what a woman is."  Totally thought he was going to end that with "of course, he never loved you."  Missed a primo opportunity there, Sev.  He continues his tantrum alone in his office, downing a drink and breaking the glass in his hand.

Don Camilo talks to the cops about the afternoon Adelina died.  And BTW, he thinks Sev did it.  Incompetente barely restrains himself from rolling his eyes.

Lola continues her interview of Doña Marga.  She and Arnoldo were madly in love, but Marga's parents thought he was a poor nobody.  They were going to send Marga to a boarding school in the DF, but Arnoldo said he'd fight for her and swore he'd marry her.  One night, he gave her the now-infamous Candy House and told her the best part was in the middle and if she ate it that night she'd never forget him.  Of course, Marga couldn't bring herself to eat it (wait, so you mean…?).  She wanted to keep it as a souvenir, or maybe share it with Arnoldo at some point, or with her kids (ew!), or her grandkids (EW!).  And the weird thing is…she never saw Arnoldo again (you mean, she never…?).  Her dad said he saw Arnoldo catch a train, back when the train used to run through there.  He was carrying a suitcase and crying.  Marga thought her dad was lying, but as the days passed, she didn't see Arnoldo and couldn't find him.  And a few days later she went to boarding school.  When she came back to town, she looked for him again, but he never came back.  She never forgot him, though, or married anyone else, or found out what happened to him.  Well, Lola, La Investigadora Ciber is on the case!  Except, no, Doña Marga doesn't want to stir up the past.

That's right…she never opened the box, and never found the ring or the letter.  So, I guess the moral of the story is, better to suffer some really hideous indigestion from eating way too much chocolate at once than to miss out on decades spent with the love of your life.

The cops are still confused about what happened to Adelina.  Renato stops by and is cranky about the lack of progress, but there is zero evidence pointing to Sev or anyone else.  Incompetente says they're not going to drop the case, but without evidence there's nothing they can do.  For now, Ren can return the letter to Aldonza and they can claim Adelina's body now.

Vero and Don Ant are leaving town.  Emmanuel says goodbye to them in front of the hotel. Vero ribs him about going after Lola now.  Don Ant hopes that Em will be returning to the competition circuit, as does Vero (and I'm betting, as does Solitario).  Don Ant gives Em a gun with one bullet to give to Aldonza.  She'll know what it means.

Renato brings the letter to Aldonza.  He'll take care of the arrangements for Adelina's body.  Aldonza can't bring herself to read the letter.

Back at the office, Renato complains about Silvia being out with Tomas again.  Pato says she's happy and they should be happy for her...or is Ren too jealous for that?  Ren retaliates by saying Pato doesn't exactly have the tidiest love life.  Pato admits he's been a bit of a mess, but he's going to fix that.  Today, in fact.

Silvia and Tomas are hanging out on a bench somewhere just basking in nature.  Silvia is contemplative.  She's been thinking she needs a change in her life, to see life with new eyes.  She doesn't want to depend on anyone else to be happy.  She's not sure exactly what that means yet, but for now she just wants Tomas to hold her.  Tomas isn't sure if he's going to like Silvia's decision, but if she wants him around for right now, he'll enjoy that as long as it lasts.

At the merceria, Irma and Lola are planning to get the books done ASAP so Lola can help Irma get ready for a hot date tonight with her big bear.  He's been nothing but supportive since the whole loan shark fiasco came to light.  Pato comes by with flowers for Lola and Irma tells her to run along, she can finish up the books on her own.

Sev and Nava drink to the death of Adriano.  In case this becomes important later, Nava's exact words were that Adriano was "declared dead."  Nava also looks rather nervous, even though this is good news for them.

In the town square, Pato explains that he's giving Lola flowers to thank her for having been his girlfriend, his friend, his accomplice…for everything she's give him…her happiness, her smiles…for being his Bella Flor…for everything!  He's feeling great and he's sure once he finishes what he has to say, they'll both feel even better.  Lola was Pato's first happiness when he got to SL and he hopes she still will be when they're not together anymore.  "Don't you dare break up with me--!"  Pato says he can't break up with her if she breaks up with him first, and he knows she wants to, but she doesn't dare, and if she doesn't dare, then he has to do it.  And since he didn't want them to have a bad breakup, he brought her the flowers.  Lola says she did try to love him, but Pato says love doesn't work like that and it's high time they end this game because it's unworthy of two people who love each other so much as friends.  And they are friends, and they owe it to each other to tell the truth.  Lola thanks him for being the best friend she's ever had.  Best breakup ever.

And now, so she doesn't hear it some other way, Pato tells her he fell in love with Mari…but it's not her fault, she had nothing to do with it.

Aldonza reads the letter from Adelina.

Cris gets home and hears about the knock-down drag-out from Dominga.  He tells Sev that if he ever touches Cande again, Cris will kill him.  Sev goes toxic macho and says they're married and he can treat her however he wants to, however [he thinks] she deserves to be treated.  Since Cris doesn't think ANYTHING justifies hitting a woman, Sev tells him he caught Cande kissing Padre J.  They continue the conversation in Sev's office, where Sev clarifies that he actually caught them kissing earlier, but TODAY he found out that Padre J is the love of Cande's life and she's sad that he's leaving.  And his manly pride just couldn't handle that.  Well, what about Cande's pride?  Sev cheated with Roberta and then had a child with her, and then he had another and another and another (children? Or lovers?).  "It's not the same.  I'm a man."  Cris gives a brilliant WTF face and says it's not "manly" to hit a woman.  It's the lowest thing a man can do.  Sev acts (or maybe is) shocked that Cris is defending his mother after "what she did" (uh, did you not hear what he just said to you about the comparison between what she did and what YOU did?).  Cris calls Sev a coward and says if he lays a hand on Cande again, he'll have to deal with Cris.  Sev doesn't exactly look like he feels all that threatened.

Lola finally tells Pato that Mari has been talking smack about how she was going to get her mitts on Pato and make him fall in love with her since the day she started working at the law office.  She's pissed that she has to explain to him, yet again, that Mari only wants what Lola has.  Pato hasn't told Mari anything yet, because he thought the right thing to do was to talk to Lola first. He begs her not to say anything and let him deal with it.  Fine, Lola will postpone her beating of Mari until later.

Em says Vero and Don Ant have left town.  He gives Aldonza the gun and the bullet.  She remembers Don Ant talking about having a bullet for Sev, and being afraid that it wasn't for Sev it was going to be for him.  Aldonza says the bullet is better off in her hands than in Don Ant's.  Em has already heard that Adelina's body was delivered to the funeral home.  Padre J will pick up the ashes later, and Em calls him to talk about scattering the ashes at El Santuario later that day.  Aldonza loads the bullet into the gun.

Cris goes to his mother's room, where she is busy trying to claim part of the responsibility because her confession was so earth shattering.  She just couldn't keep it in anymore.  Cris asks about the snogging, but Cande clarifies that SHE kissed Padre J when she found out he was leaving.  But at least Padre J can't be hurt by Sev anymore.  She tells Cris it's Sev's fault that Padre J got transferred, because Sev complained to the bishop.  She wants Cris to take her to the church tomorrow so she can say goodbye to him.

Humberto refuses to put the property in Em's name only.  He tells Ren to go forward with the original plan and they'll talk Aldonza into it later.  Ren hands over the will he prepared.  And also, Humberto wants to be divorced as quickly as possible.  Ren is on it.  And what about the investigation of Adelina's murder.  Humberto calls the cops inept.  He's furious that Sev keeps getting away with things.  So furious, it brings Blanca running in to ask if he's ok.

At the falls, Emmanuel scatters Roberta's ashes, Aldonza scatters Adelina's, and Padre J scatters Raymundo's.  Cris watches from nearby but doesn't intrude on the family moment.

Drunk Pru is spreading the news of Val's pregnancy to someone over the phone and insisting that Cris IS going to marry Val.  Val comes home, upset, and blames getting kicked out of Las Animas on Pru and her big mouth.  Val is also offended that Sev was trying to use her to get Humberto to sign over El Santuario and since she failed she got kicked out.  And he even insulted her!  The nerve!

Padre J walks the kids back to the house and reminds him he's leaving tomorrow night.  He wants Aldonza to think about his offer to go with him.  Don Camilo gives Aldonza the notice of her second divorce hearing.  Sev's new flunky watches from afar.

Pru is as unhelpful to Val as usual.  She suggests Val get rid of that "useless" baby, but Val still somehow thinks BabyLardo is the key to getting everything she wants.

Tomas visits Padre J at the church to moan about his great love for Silvia and his impending dumping.  "I told you you were playing with fire.  I told you that girl wasn't the one for you."  Padre J tells him to prepare for the inevitable.  Sev comes in to the church.  Sadly, once again, there is no divine smiting.  He came to say his goodbyes and remind Padre J that Cande's HIS wife.  He whips Padre J across the face and Tomas is all set to take him down, but Padre J settles for Sev leaving the church and tells Tomas to leave him.

Outside the church, Don Antonio is waiting for Sev.  He grabs him and pulls a gun on him.  Don Ant wants to kill him like the rabid dog he is.  Here, in into the shadows, the way Sev also acted in the shadows when he raped Don Ant's sister, like a coward.  And while he's got plenty of reasons to kill Sev openly, instead he's going to kill him here, where no one can see him.  He orders Sev to kneel and Sev begs for his life.

Are we going to spend the next 2 weeks with someone, anyone, holding a gun on Sev and will they or won't they...who's next in line?

The Candy House Saga...

Mystery Man, the original maker, puts the ring and a letter inside and gives it to...
Marga, but we don't know if she ever found the ring and/or letter. She gave it to...
Lola, so that Lola would be able to give Em something way better than Mari's stinky chocolates. She gave it to...
Emmanuel, who made the mistake of stashing it in his closet, where...
Pru got her hands on it, claiming it in the name of having to put up with Em in her house. But once everyone started looking for it, she took it over to...
Tomas, who was supposed to hide it, but instead put it up on Ebay. He hid it in his closet and when...
His mom came in to clean, she took it and gave it to...
The church for the raffle/fundraiser where...
Silvia and Renato jointly won it. But then Renato started acting all un-lawyerly, so Silvia gave it to...
Ray and Joaquin, where it might have stayed, had they not left it in the park after Ray fell, where...
Irma and Uriel found it and took it home, intending to have Padre J help them track down the real owner, except that...
Mari deputized herself to take it to Padre J, with a brief stop to torture Lola along the way, and dropped it off on…
Padre J's desk without any explanation, where he assumed that Candela had given it to him, so he gave it back to…
Cande and for whatever reason, she accepted it and took it home as, as Padre J put it, "a symbol of the love between their families." However, since Padre J so very publicly made her and Sev look like liars in front of the entire town, she gave it to…
Dominga when Dominga was cleaning Cande's room. Dominga gave it to...
Melesio as an anniversary present. He remembered that his friend Arnoldo Medina made it to give to the girl he loved, who turns out to have been Marga. Lola is dispatched to get the story about why Arnoldo and Marga never married. Turns out Arnoldo and Marga were sweethearts and Arnoldo gave it to Marga, but…
Marga never opened it and Arnoldo left town in tears and was never heard from again.

Is this the end?

Did you write this 5Ft? or did Eli? Thank you whoever you are.

Yep. Subbing for Eli today. Thanks, cathyx.

Eli – Thank you for the recap! Wow, you had a lot happen and you did a great job with it!

Sev is a real piece of work. Nothing is ever his fault. Ugh…..

re: the CandyHouse, my guess is:

Arnoldo’s Candy House was a marriage proposal but Doña Marga never saw the ring. So, Arno got depressed from the assumed rejection and left town for good. Lola will track him down via the InterTubes and reunite the long lost couple. Aaaawww,,,,, AARP love could be so cute.

Why oh why are none of the police asking “where is the syringe?” that Ade supposedly used. I was yelling this at my TV last night. Hel-lo?!?

Lola + Pato + Mari = eh, whatevs…

Humberto updating his will = death knell.

Maybe Silvia will give up lawyering, go to Mechanics School, and work with Tomas.

Sev hitting PadJer with a crop in the church is all kinds of wrong. I soooo want Don Ant. to shoot Sev but we have HOW MANY episodes left? So it ain’t going to happen any time soon.

Oh, Diva - then THANK YOU!!! for the recap.

I'm hoping that Sev doesn't die yet. I want him to know that everyone knows all the bad he's done, when they finally find out. And then I want him to live the rest of his life in jail.

Good point about the syringe Doris. And do the pills match what she had in her system? Incompetente indeed. And what was the point of Adriano staying alive all this time? He never even spilled his guts out beforehand.

Thanks Diva!Wonderful recap!

Checking in fast from work, but darn, I was sort of let down by the Cande House reveal. I mean, c'mon. We have to have one decent couple get back together. The hell with the rest, I want Magda and her man to walk off into the sunset.

So last night was the episode I was dreading...let's just rearrange all the deck chairs and force back the couples to the predictable pairings that make no sense. Pato is in 'love" with Mari....you have got to be kidding me!!!

I'm almost tired of all these threats to do in Sev. Lord Don A, pull the stupid trigger, but guesses that doesn't happen. Too early now, so I'm assuming that will now rule Don A out as the one to give Sev his ultimate demise.

So I'll hang in to see Sev's demise, retribution for Val and Pru, and what the blazes they do with Cande, but may get quick with the remote trigger finger as the couples pair off. Poor Tomas, maybe he will wind up a priest after all.

Daisynjay

Thank you, doris! Oh, yes, Lola's totally going to investigate on her own.

cathyx, I'd be very surprised if he died so soon before the end.

Thanks, Kat, for another excellent recap. I had to miss all the action due to a messed up Univision feed, so feel especially grateful.

I was a little surprised that Dominga didn't do anything when Sev hit Cande. If she didn't want to intervene, she should have gotten someone to help restrain Sev. I did laugh when he tried to strangle her around her neck brace though. But we saw what a grip he has when he crushed that glass, so maybe he could have squeezed through the brace, lol.

Thank you, Daisynjay! I was surprised Pato put it that way, that he's in "love" with Mari, not just...I don't know, wanting to date her or something. He didn't look too happy to find out that she was scheming, though, so there's hope yet that Pato will stay single and available.

Thank you, La Paloma! Ugh, cable issues! I hope they get it sorted out for you before tonight.

cathyx, IKR? Dominga just sort of stood there watching them, not touching either one, not screaming for help.

Thanks, Kat, for so brilliantly filling in for Eli! Wow, Sever sinks further with every episode. Him saying out loud what he thinks his rights as a MAN are, was just, ugh! I really wish Cris had slugged him.

Could we have so many people with a motive and means to kill Sever by the end, that the police will never figure it out? Aldonza now has TWO guns in her possession. Hmmm... That's got to be significant.

Assistant Detective Incompetent is a piece of work. He was jumping through hoops trying to justify how Adelina could have committed suicide, despite the lack of pills in her system, the syringe mark on her neck, and the lack of a syringe anywhere nearby. "But, but, she probably didn't take that many pills. But, but, there was no sign of struggle in the room. Yadda, yadda." And his boss was looking like he wished he could accept any of those lame explanations and declare this thing a tidy suicide.

Dominga looked like she was in shock this was all happening. I think this was the first time she saw the REAL face of Severiano. Bet she doesn't think Lola is so silly now when she shares her theories about Sever doing something bad to Sim/Viv and her baby.

Speaking of...I really hope Eman spills the beans to Lola about that body in a truck that popped up in the river.

Trunk, not truck.

Since everyone thinks Don Antonio left town earlier that day, it actually would be perfect if he shot Sever, left him there in the dark alley, and they disappeared back to his hometown. Only Aldonza knows he had motive, and she thinks he left hours ago.

In case anyone missed it, the synopsis of Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse is posted here. That's going to be the show that follows Sombra.

Thank you, Vivi! I was baffled by the fact that Jr Incompetente was basically going against what the medical professionals had said. They told him what the physical evidence was, and he's trying to say "Well, maybe...." Dude, it doesn't work like that!

Vivi, I thought the same thing about Don A killing him and getting away with it since everyone thinks he left town already.

And yeah, why does everyone have to be in love right away? Why can't they have a period of just wanting to date and see where it goes first? And what about Mari is the least bit attractive to Pato?

I suppose he thinks she's been giving him great love advice just out of the kindness of her heart. Ok, well, maybe for the last five minutes, but before that...wise up, Pato!

Cathyx- I think just dating and seeing where it goes it exactly what Silvia and Tomas are doing. Problem is, Tomas seems to sense that he's just a fleeting fancy for Silvia (I think he's right), while he would like to snap up this amazing woman and never let her go. A mean, only a fool would let a woman like that go. Right, Renato?

How odd that we've reached a place where Renato is the fool and Tomas is the one showing some wisdom!

Well, after the nauseating turn on Pato, we'll probably get Joaquin caving soon to Flavia. Seriously considering putting the writers on the dart board.

Cande should throw Sev out of the house. If she doesn't tonight, I give up on her. Frankly, Cris should have done it for her, but whatever.

Daisynjay

Gracias, Kat.

It's still too early for Sev's demise. The way this is going it should either be

-- a la Murder on the Orient Express where everyone gets a stab in
-- via some force of nature or God, like a bolt of lightning or Sev falling into the river from the same spot he disposed of the trunk.

Gee, what a great remake Televisa could do with MOTOE....

Daisynjay, I shudder to think that might happen.

And yes, dump Sev already, Cande! She did say if he ever touched Padre J again (or was that my wishful thinking?) so even if she won't do it because of what Sev did to her, he ought to be coming home to find the locks changed and his credit cards cancelled.

Diva--It's in your genes to step up and give a hand. Thank you for a super recap on short notice.

CathyX--As to Adriano...I also thought it was odd to let him die without ever giving testimony on Sev hiring him. Perhaps they did it just to keep US in suspense. Then I thought maybe he has regained consciousness, he's been interrogated and now the police are keeping him in protective custody until they can get some more dirt on Sev. Wouldn't that be nice?

I'd rather Don Ant would shoot Sev in the other shoulder and leave him crumpled up there on the pavement.

Scattering the ashes with Cris watching from afar was really touching. He did the right thing.

Thank you, Urban Anthropologist! No, they won't kill him off this early. They don't have 2 weeks' worth of follow up. Maybe 1, but that would be pushing it.

Actually, Daisynjay, if Cande gets rid of Sev now, she's got the perfect excuse to shackle Cris with--he has to stay and run the horse business for her.

I felt really sad for Aldonza this episode. I really think Adelina's death has affected her more than Roberta's death did.

Daisynjay....my thoughts exactly, "to hell with them all except Madga and her man". Am pulling for Tomas and Silvia. Poor Eman, he has had enough bad luck in his life to be saddled with Lola. Likewise Pato and Mari. Cris and Aldonza (that pairing makes me shudder) Aldonza will ugly cry and pout her way thru life and Cris will put up with it. Mel and Dominga are a breath of fresh air. Love that couple.

Now that I have got at off my mind, will ENJOY the rest of the series.

Thank Diva, great recap as always.

Thank you, Anita! It was a beautifully shot scene with Cris watching from the other side of the water like that.

Diva--That mark on Padre's face had better be there when Cande comes to say goodbye. That will certainly be enough to kick Sev out of Las Animas--if she has the courage to go through with it. Whether or not she said to Sev that he not harm PJ anymore, this would drive her to do something.

If she kicks him out, it will go a furr piece toward her "rehabilitation" in my book.

Thank you, Emeraldrose! Ah, doesn't it feel good to let it all out :D

Hey, idea. I know TN's love their weddings at the end to make things happy happy.

So instead of any young uns or the main squeezes, we should all of them decide to take a dating sabbatical and get their heads together and their emotions dealt with. Instead, we have Mel/Dom and Uriel/Irma do vow renewals for showing them all how to work things through and be there for each other.

Daisynjay

Anita, I would guess it should still be there and even if Padre J doesn't tell her what happened, puh-leeze...she knows Sev well enough to know he wouldn't be able to resist going down there and doing one last bit of violence.

Vivi, I don't think it's helping that she doesn't know for sure what happened to Adelina.

Daisynjay.....Dating sabbatical, great idea. Love it. And renewing of vows...brilliant.

What a twist that would be

Daisynjay, I like that idea! Let's celebrate *lasting* love!

Maybe Marga will find her Arnoldo and THEY can get married (while I'm still secretly hoping it will turn out to be Don Antonio).

Kat, blissfully wry "toxic macho" and "Sadly, once again, there is no divine smiting" being but two examples.

Classic Kat. Wonderful.

I've been bemoaning Cris' rather laid back, passive attitude and demeanor. I wanted fire, not sparks. But last night, as he stood back and quietly observed the ashes being scattered, he struck just the right balance by being present, yet at a distance.

"Sev doesn't exactly look like he feels all that threatened". No, because that is Cris' persona. A quiet silence yet one that may erupt with volcanic force if pushed far enough. Be forewarned Sev.

I cannot wait for Eman and Lola to reunite. Mari will have to perform many acts of contrition if she ends up with Pato. Since when does the lesser villain end up with one of the prime galans in waiting?

Anita, I thought Marga's lost love was Don Ant right away. Sigh.

Vivi, yes, Dominga seemed rooted in fright and disbelief at Sev's display. In all the years she has worked there, I can hardly believe she wasn't privy to many more evil displays but her horror seemed genuine.

As much as I wish Don Ant would finish what he started, I agree there is too much time for Sev to die so quickly. I also want Cande to see the mark on the Padre's face and turn him out. Forever.

Diana

cathyx – It bothered me, too, that Dominga just stood there. It might have been self-preservation, though, in case Sev turned on her. So I don’t hold it against her.

SEV calling Cande a 'golfa' was just too much. HE was the golfa in that relationship. SHE had the money, he did not. Sheesh…..

Daisynjay – I’m setting up a dart board of writers on the Patio right now.

Thank you, Diana! "Since when does the lesser villain end up with one of the prime galans in waiting?" You said it! Just because she's all contrite now doesn't mean a thing to me--and she certainly hasn't bothered to apologize for any of the things she's done. To her mom, to Lola, to Emmanuel. Nope, nope, nope...no Pato for Mari!

Hi all,

Diva - Wow! You are an AMAZING Patio Pillar! You lead us, you fill in for us, you knock every recap out of the park...applause are the only response ::HS claps out loud::

All of that was meant to say THANK YOU for the fabulous recap!

I want someone to dust the room for fingerprints and find Sev's on the chair he picked up. Sigh. If wishes were dollar bills...

WEll, Pato declared love for Mari, so the rest of this is going to be a nightmare for me. Especially since she does legit care about Pato. If she spins past him being her friend to the "but I really love you!" story, I'm going blow chunks.

Thanks, Diva! Running around (happily) today on my birthday but not too busy to catch tonight's episode!

Why oh why are none of the police asking “where is the syringe?” that Ade supposedly used. I was yelling this at my TV last night. Hel-lo?!? Wiser words never spoken, Daisy!

Ok, I'm not giving up on Adriano whispering "The Sev made me do it!" before he really dies!

Let Don Tonio shoot Sev, leave him in a "locked in" coma where is totally aware but unable to speak AND having phantom pain daily, then let him wake up, still aware, learn that the whole town knows he's a murderous, perverse devil, have a trial, go to prison and live on like this for, say, 40 years, at least.

Thank you, Diva, Fearless Leader!

doris, I think I'm just bitter that Dominga didn't get a few good whacks in with a spoon or something.

Thank you, HellaShelle! You're makin' me blush over here :D I am wishing for a lack of Mari-Pato loveyness on your behalf. Though, I admit, I don't want to see that either. That's just too easy for her! She doesn't deserve a reward for all her bad behavior.

Awesome off the bench Kat, thank you for the Travis Tritt!

"Sev doesn't exactly look like he feels all that threatened" but oh, does he sing a different tune with a man with a grudge and a gun

Vivi, yep, Aldonza loved Adelina more than her bio mother, I felt it. Michelle does grief stricken well

Of course Lola is ok with the break up but not for Mari. Sick of Lola

I so wanted Veronica and Emanuel to smooch again, darn missed opportunity

Good lord Dominga you could have at least wiped Severiano's brow as he choked Cande, don't just stand there.

Call me Silvia I could use you for a project, believe me it will challenge and excite

Hellashelle, Sev wore surgical gloves when he killed her.

Happy Birthday Lila

Thank you, Lila!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you've had a wonderful day so far!

Thank you, tofie! Not gonna lie...I enjoyed watching Sev beg.

Hope they drag the begging out for 30 minutes, I'll continue to come back after commercial. Shame it's this early but maybe he'll shoot his pecker off or something.

cathyx – It bothered me, too, that Dominga just stood there. It might have been self-preservation, though, in case Sev turned on her. So I don’t hold it against her. I might not have interfered, either.

SEV calling Cande a GOLFA was just too much. HE was the golfa in that relationship. SHE had the money, he did not. Sheesh…..

Daisynjay – I’m setting up a dart board of writers on the Patio right now.

Happy Birthday Lila!!

Thanks Doris. Right behind you in line!!

Daisynjay

Thanks, Kat. I do not know where this show is going.
Don Ant gives Al a gun and bullet and then confronts Sev outside the church waving a gun in his face. I am getting a Murder She Wrote vibe.

You would have thought that Dom would have had something in that crossbody bag to use on Sev as he attacked her Nina...pepper spray?? Candy needs to file a PFA against this guy. Sev seems to be unraveling quickly at this point.

Well, Ray, Rob, and ADe are now in the waters of ES, so it would be poetic justice for Sev to join them there.

LILA...Happy Day to you. We just got back from our Lily's fifth birthday party. She was dressed in a pink butterfly fairy costume complete with fluttering wings . I hope that you had as much fun as she did.

tofie, popcorn will be needed! With extra butter.

Thank you, Susanlynn! You summed that up pretty well...what did he mean by doing that? And after he is supposed to have left town, too. I'm gonna need some more explanation for that. Like Sev having hallucinations or it being a dream of Don Antonio's or something. Either of which would be a total let-down.

Happy Birthday, Lila!!!

Gracias, Kat! I still haven't gotten to watch this.

Feliz cumple Lila!

Happy Birthday Lila. Hope you are having the time of your life!

oy, severiano is so wretched!! i have no doubt he is going to be found dead. but since pretty much EVERYBODY, down to even dominga, has a reason to bump him off, how on earth would that sharp detective (sarcasm) figure out who did it? kind of like, who shot JR from "Dallas" years ago. nearly every person in the entire town has a reason to kill him! thanks soooo much for the great recaps ya'll post....i look forward to them each day! i <3 this site and am so glad i found it. um...being a newbie, i was wondering exactly is meant by the patio? is there a live chat somewhere? :)

The girl is mine- It's a virtual patio. As soon as you join the conversation you're sitting on the Patio. Sometimes you're even sitting at specific tables for certain characters. At times, there are signature drinks inspired by characters or the tn.

The girl is mine- Also note that the Patio started out originally as the Patio of Lowered Exepectations, but it became such a fun place to be that it just became the Patio and is rolled out for both good and bad tns. And now you're on it with us! Pull up a chair, and grab your favorite beverage.

Thank you, Sara!

Thank you, TgiM! Like Vivi explained, this is the Patio :)

The girl is Mine...What an interesting name !

La Diva, loved the recap girl, thanks for bringin it.
Cris seems to be having trouble believeing his dad is as bad as he is hearing about. I can't tell with this man, he wont get as angry as he should get over finding out all of these nasty things his father is capable of. Hopefully we'll start to hear some serious confessions, in the next few days. Maybe. I was hopeing padre J would say something like" I'll repent later" and grab sev take him outside and beat the crap out of him. But hes a good man of God, theres a special place in hell for sev, hes been makeing reservations since this show started.

The girl is Mine--- I would love to hear the story behind that name. Thats a cool name.
WELCOME!!! HAVE FUN.:-)

Thank you, Nina! Sev has indeed made his reservations for hell, and gotten a few free upgrades to boot.

KAT--Hoot hoot hoot! Loved the recap, thank you so much!
Can't wait to see if Don Ant pulls the trigger.
We've all seen those TN where the (*ostensibly) main villain gets killed a week early, and then the number two villain gets promoted to the finale. In this case my nominee would be La Wretched Val.

J in O

Thank you, J! That's true, sometimes the Big Bad gets out of the way and a second-stringer gets their moment in the spotlight. I don't know whether to welcome that or dread it, but I've only got 7 more minutes to wait before I find out what comes next!

Thank you Tofie, Diva, Daisynjay, Susanlynn, Vivi, Sara, and Diana for the birthday wishes! It IS and HAS been a great day!

I'll see y'all tomorrow on the recap for tonight's show!

;D

Was out of town, missed your recap Diva but thanks for pitching in, and all the other ways you are helping out on CarayCaray.

Happy Birthday to Lila and Lilly and welcome to This Girl Is Mine. As someone with a totally boring, unimaginative sobriquet, I admire this clever ID's.

Thank you, JudyB!
