New Telenovela: Antes Muerta Que Lichita Premieres Tuesday, September 22nd - Introducing your recapping team
Monday: Jane
Tuesday: Sara
Wednesday: Jarifa
Thursday: Cece
Friday: Marta
Synopsis:
This is the story of Lichita, the most ignored employee at the Icónkia ad agency. When she landed the job at Icoónika, she had high hopes of moving up quickly in the company. Unfortunately, she's in a rut and her career is going nowhere. She is in fact, invisible.
Tired of being "Lichicienta" and not being recognized for her years of hard work, Lichita decides to change and recover what she deserves. She decides to stop being Lichita and become Alicia. She would rather be dead than ever go back to being "Lichita"!
Now I know what you're thinking..."Isn't that just Bety la fea or La fea mas bella?" According to Rosy Ocampo, it's not just a remake, it is indeed an original story. This website even says so!

Thank you again to all who do the recaps, so much appreciated.
WOW was for 4k being more pixels than HD.
For you, hellashelle I have a SQUEEEE!!!
But for some reason, I am drawn to this one and will be giving it a hearty try. See y'all on The Patio!
Is this going to be as long as Betty La Fea? Does anyone know how many episodes are planned?
Not sure how many episodes. I haven't seen any talk of how long this will be.
I might as well say that ratings have been "meh" on this one. They went from 18-14 the first week and in the 15s and 16s on Monday and Tuesday of the second week. But ALL the TNs are doing poorly. Lichita and La Vecina had a pretty high number for share (the percentage of all people watching.)
But all that tells us is how many people watched. It says nothing about quality *cough*Firefly*cough*
All that being said, with relatively low numbers, I doubt this will get dragged out.
I kind of thought that's what you were thinking, but wanted to make sure.
Just read today that Gabriel Soto will have about a 40 episode story line in Lichita.
Gracias,
- J
She would rather be dead than ever go back to being "Lichita"!
" antes muerto/a que... " is an expression used like" I'd rather be dead"
I'm sure someone with better Spanish than I will be a bigger help.
It means she'd rather be dead than be Lichita (or having to go back from being Alicia to Lichita.
There were a good number of actors that would interest me, but when I got to Sherlyn, I said uh, uh, not Maite AND Sherlyn in the same tn.
Besides, I'm hooked on Telemundo's Preciosa Perla. That's two hours for each episode for now.
To each his own tastes, Anita. I wasn't a fan of the comedies for the longest time and now I'd rather watch those.
I will be watching, 1st because it's my time slot to watch a tn, and 2nd because it IS a comedy. The plot can get a little lame sometimes but don't they all. And, usually there's little to no violence in a comedy; although, there were a couple of nasty scenes in the last one with Silvia Navarro, .. corazon .. can't think of the title. How soon we forget. I just don't need blood and gore, murder and mayhem, and I hope we're spared all that in this one too. I'd rather see character development and well-played comedy drama.
Lola
Well said, Lola! I have not seen a Rosy Ocampo comedy from beginning to end. I saw bits and pieces of Que Pobres Tan Ricos and I don't remember it getting too dark. I remember at least one murder, though.
Variopnta-I lot of Matie's projects have been not good (CCEA, La Gata,TdA), but she was actually pretty good in Cachito del Cielo. In the right hands, I think she can pull off a decent performance.
This looks great and seeing Gabe Soto will be in for quite a few episodes makes this even more appealing.
I respectfully disagree about Maite. I think she has done the best she can with the roles she's been cast in. She was excellent in Mi Pecado, which was haunting and memorable.

We may have to have a Maite Fans Anonymous Club.
