I don't recall who was looking for an unedited version of "Pasion de Gavilanes," but if you're willing to wait a week, Netflix has it listed as coming November 1st. They've been beefing up their Spanish language content significantly, and it's always been complete runs of novelas.

I know they have the original Mujeres Asesinas, but do they have the Mexican episodes?

Not to my knowledge.

Hi everyone! Here's some news on what's upcoming for you all... :-)

There are currently three telenovelas airing down Mexico way- 'A que no me dejas', 'Antes muerta que Lichita', and 'Pasion y poder'. Of these, AQNMD is doing quite well. It premiered to a dismal rating somewhere in the 12's but since then has risen at least 5 points and on some days has now been the most watched telenovela presently airing (beathing PyP and AMQL). Interestingly, AQNMD has two parts instead of just one. The first 'etapa' began July 25th and is set to end November 2nd, with the second one beginning the day afterward. A number of new actors will be starring in the second 'etapa'... among them, a telenovela power-couple- Cesar Evora and Erika Buenfil! Them, in addition to Martha Julia, Lenny de la Rosa, Jade Fraser, Brandon Peniche, and Maya Mishalska. And, what's even more encouraging is- good reviews all around for this one! (I've heard it described as 'big and juicy')

Pasion y poder- with its absolutely incredible cast- aired to a rating approaching 22 points but since then has plummeted to about 18, on average (still most respectable). In spite of this its all set to go up in the States once LI has run its course. Two little bits of kinda-interesting information about this one- last week filming was done 'on location'... apparently Televisa shelled out the pesos and shipped some of the cast (Michelle Renaud, Jose Pablo Minor, and Fabiola Guajardo for sure) and crew to New York, and scenes were shot there. Also, due to the whining and demands of the public, writers have been told to focus more on the love story, so aspects of the story that was originally planned and written are already torn up and steered on to another course (for what it's worth, the original 'Pasion y poder' likewise focused less on the 'love story' than most other novelas, the emphasis was on the enmity between the two families. And, if you think about it, this makes sense- both the protagonists are in long-term marriages to other people, and with families. Their personal interactions, therefore, have to be infrequent and fleeting when they do happen- due to the demands of their respective lives responsibilities. That's a major part of the problem that separates them! Well, apparently, that's not good enough for the public so there's going to be more on the love aspect of things between Arturo and Julia (and the idea of bring faithful to the original can apparently go pound salt)

Antes muerta que Lichita debuted to mediocre ratings and has pretty much continued that way, but those that watch it are professing to love it. Of note with this one- Thalia has recorded a song expressly for AMQL, called 'Si alguna vez', so Thalia fans will want to check that one out. It's already being shown in the States also, of course, so I won't say too much more about this one...

Of the ones in the works- promos for 'Simplemente Maria' are now airing, it will be in an afternoon time slot, after another novela that not many people are watching, but that is supposed to be quite excellent- 'Amor de barrio'. All casting information for this one has already been provided here.

The casting for MaPat's latest, 'Corazon que miente', is continuing apace. She's using her usual favorites here- the leads will be Pablo Lyle and Thelma Madrigal. Casting for the villains baffles me and- considering the original had Leticia Calderon, Cesar Evora, Manuel Ojeda, Azela Robinson, Francisco Gattorno and Monika Sanchez (and won 10 premios)- I can't see how the new version could even hope to measure up. I hope I'm wrong. Anyway, for this one the villains will be Alejandro Tommasi (a regular in supporting roles) will be the main male villain (his first one), and the two female villains will be played by Lourdes Reyes (who had minor roles in 'La mujer de Vendeval', 'Ni contigo ni sin ti', 'Juro que te amo', and 'Rebelde', and can last be seen as Cayetana in 'Senora Acero 2') and- and I'm at a loss to explain this one- pop singer Dulce Maria (who, apart from 16 episodes in 'Mentir para vivir' has only starred in youth and kids novelas such as 'Verano de amor', Rebelde', and 'Clase 406'. This is where I'm thinking- "THESE are the replacements for Calderon, Evora, Ojeda, Robinson, and Sanchez?? But maybe they'll surprise us! And... also giving us hope for this one, are the presences of such grand actors as Alejandro Avila, Alexis Ayala, Helena Rojo, Mayrin Villanueva, Diego Olivera and Maria Sorte- all of whom have apparently confirmed for this one.

The project formerly known as 'Gran Hotel' will now be called 'El hotel de los secretos', and I'm personally quite excited about this one. Casting is completed and filming has begun. The leads are Erick Elias and an actress best known for film and stage roles, and whose name will thus probably be unfamiliar with telenovela viewers- Irene Azuela (who must have beaten out the likes of Ana Brenda, Zuria Vega, Ximena Navarrete, and all the others who auditioned for the role). Confirmed for the supporting cast are Domenika Paleta, Jorge Poza, Claudia Ramirez, Juan Ferrara, Jesus Ochoa, Queta Lavat, and (of course) those two titanesses- Daniela Romo and Diana Bracho. Interestingly, too, is the fact that there is ALSO going to be an ENGLISH language adaptation airing as well, IN ADDITION to the Mexican one.

On the comedy/light-hearted side, Pedro Damian ('Muchacha italiana vieni a casarse') is cooking up his latest- this will be a remake of the Colombian telenovela 'Pobre Pablo' (which is labelled as a 'romantic comedy') starring Christian Chavez.

On the Telemundo side, they're starting to promote 'Quien es quien', which sounds like fun- two men from vastly disparate lives yet who happen to be identical stumble upon one another and, through a twist of fate, change lives. Laura Flores portrays the poor man's good-hearted mother, Danna Paola the poor woman who will captivate both hearts and Kimberly Dos Ramos is already showing she can arch an eyebrow like nobody's business (an absolute necessity when portraying someone evil, it seems) in the villana role of Fernanda, the rich man's betrothed who has her own agenda.

We're starting to get a little bit more info on 'La Trailera', too. While all stories hitherto have heralded it as being a telenovela adaptation of the 1983 movie 'Lola, la trailera', Telemundo has recently been putting out notices on social media that this will, in fact, be an original story and is NOT an adaptation of either the movie or anything else for that matter. Edith Gonzales will star, Arap Bethke will be her galan and Jorge Luis Posa will be the gran villano. I've heard Erika de la Rosa's name bandied about also, but that may be just because she seems to be everywhere nowadays (and always dependable... like Telemundo's answer to Luz Maria Jerez, except evil...)

Not much news about 'La Querida Del Centauro', for reasons unknown. I can say that Alexandra de la Mora has been added to the cast. Also (perhaps 'ominously'), this one is apparently being marketed as a "Super Series"- does this mean it will feature multiple seasons like 'El Senor De Los Cielos' and "Senora Acero'? I also believe that this one- whenever it airs- will be doing so in the 10pm time slot.

Even less word on Lucero's 'Lo Indomable' (it doesn't even have its own Wikipedia page- either in English or Spanish!).

That's it for now! More news to come as I hear it and can sort it all out! :-)

Gracias La Diva and Stevey! As for your information about Corazon Que Miente, I am quite confused as I noticed some rumors that Sergio Goyri , Mariana Van Rankin(Marisol in Hasta El Fin Del Mundo ) and Dulce Maria (Rebelde) are also negotiating for the role of the villains. I really hate these rumour sites so I will have to depend on their Twitter accounts for better and confirmed information. By the way Alexis Ayala is rumored to be a priest in his new role , that would be amazing! I would be either way excited if Ale Avila and Ale Tommasi were the villains because the only one out of the first rumors that I like is Goyri.

About EL Hotel de Secretos, it is a very long name for a novela but I am glad that Dominika is joining the cast.

have cheated and watched A que No Me Dejas (Talk about long names!) and I have found the cast satisfying. Their performance definitely pack a punch especially Arturo Peniche and Alejandra Barros.

I have cheated*

Hi Count! I hope that everything is going well with you, with school, and with family.

Regarding 'Corazon que miente', Alejandro Tommasi and Lourdes Reyes ARE confirmed to be the two 'gran villanos' of the story (I'm trying to be pretty tight with the information that I'm sharing with you guys before submitting it to you all... namely because I know how frustrating it can be having to sift through all the gossip- real and bogus- that is out there on all those rumor sites that you mentioned!). Dulce Maria is, apparently, "99 percent" confirmed to be playing the role of the third villain (I'm not sure if this, in the original, would be the Azela Robinson character or the Monika Sanchez), who will be named 'Renata'.

Mariana von Rankin's role in the novela will be as the best friend of Thelma Madrigal's protagonista. Vanessa Restrepo has also joined the cast (playing someone named 'Denise'), and Eric del Castillo's name is also being bandied about, but no words on his character. And, as you mentioned, Alexis Ayala WILL be playing a priest... perhaps he wanted a soul-cleaning experience after giving life to the evil Sev in LSDP!

All my best to you! :-)

Stevey- Alejandro Tommasi was the main villain in El Manatial (the Severiano role), so this won't be his first villain. He's a very versatile actor.

I don't know if any Caray-ers are watching "Jane the Virgin" on the CW network, which just started its second season but I absolutely love this cleverly-written send up of telenovelas. From our world, Jaime Camil has been fantastic as Jane's father, a self-absorbed telenovela star and last night Kate del Castillo guest starred as his ex-wife but the real story is about the relationships between three strong women: Jane, her mother and grandmother. It is broadcast in English (except the grandmother only speaks Spanish) and is also available in Spanish on a SAP.

Vivi! How could I have forgotten Justo Ramirez?? Thanks for the clarification. :-)

Stevey - Thank you for all the updates on upcoming telenovelas!

Quien es Quien - I am looking forward to this one and hope it airs at an early hour. Our DVR has too many recording scheduled for later hours, thus putting strong doubts on my ability to record or watch Pasion y Poder!

Will QeQ be the third telenovela in which Laura Flores plays Eugenio Siller's mother? (ADCLG and RdC already) They have good chemistry, but it is starting to be a habit. LOL

Gracias, Stevey. I've updated the list.

I have the feeling that my recaps are next on the plagarists' lists because the bandwidth on my Photobucket account has been maxed out. I haven't been using it for anything else lately so that's the only thing I can think of.

I guess I didn't explain it well. They hit multiple *shows*...every episode. There were very few recappers who weren't affected. And the only shows that weren't hit were the ones where they aired in the countries in question before they aired here.

But the previously stolen recaps have been removed, so any current bandwidth issues are happening because page views are up now that we're not being kept a secret.

Thanks. I guess that means I need to pay for the next level.

Jean, I am watching "Jane", too. It always makes me laugh: especially Rogelio. Glad to see Jaime Camil having the success he is having with that character.
