Hi everybody!!
I´m at present in the amazon right now (no kidding! I´m in Leticia, in Colombia) and, perhaps needless to say- the internet isn´t all that great down here (what there is of it at all!). Anyways, I did want to try and give you guys another one of my ´update´ pages, as a lot of things have come into being since my last one. Here goes!
The Ängelique Boyer suffused ´Lazos de amor´ remake will be called ¨Como tres gotas de agua¨, and starring alongside Boyer, Boyer, and Boyer in this will be her real-life paramour Sebastian Rulli, alongside David Zepeda, Pedro Moreno, and Carlos de la Mota. Javier Jattin was originally cast in one of the three main male roles but he was dumped by the producer in favor of Sr. Moreno who apparently didn´t make nearly the outrageous demands that Sr. Jattin did. Blanca Guerra will also here, but I´m not sure if this is in the Maty Huitron role or the Marga Lopez role (from the original). This one will follow ´Pasion y poder´ down in these parts, and shooting starts January 4th.
Juan Osorio´s latest schmaltz-fest (seeing as ´Mi corazon es tuyo´ worked so well for him), ´Sueno del amor¨ underwent a minor NOT-crisis when protagonista Silvia Navarro backed out, saying that it was just too soon after having given birth. Undaunted, Sr. Osorio decided to grab the proverbial bull by the proverbial horns and has cast someone named Betty Monroe as lead. If you haven´t heard of Sra. Monroe, don´t feel bad... apparently neither has wikipedia! She IS, however, an accomplished actress from TV Azteca and the general consensus seems to be bravo to Sr. Osorio for providing us with a new name and fresh face. Sra. Monroe´s galan in this one will be Cristian de la Fuente (his character will be called ´Ricardo Alegria´), and her (grown) children will be played by Polo Morin (as ´Pablo´) and Renata Notni (as ´Patricia´). Something of note that piques at least my proverbial interest about this one is the fact that Sabine Moussier has also been cast here, in the role of ´Tracy Kidman´, the esposa of de la Fuente´s character. This one debuts down in these parts on February 22, right after ´Ántes muerte que Lichita´ ends...
The MaPat remake of ´Laberintos de pàsion´ is ready to go. It debuts here on February 8th, after ´A que no me dejas´ ends its run. I believe we´ve already covered casting for this one, but just in the interests of completeness, here it is:
leads- Pablo Lyle, Thelma Madrigal, villains- Alejandro Tommasi, Dulce Maria, Lourdes Reyes, supporting roles- Alexis Ayala, Mariana von Rankin, Diego Olivera, Mayrin Villanueva, Helena Rojo, Maria Sorte, Eric del Castillo.
The latest work that Nathalie Lartilleux intends to inflict on us, ¨ Un camino hacia el destino¨ is, alas, continuing unabated, and well most casting has already been discussed here (Paulina Goto, Horacio Pancheri- leads, Harry Geithner, Ana Patricia Rojo- villains, Rene Strickler, Eugenia Cauduro, Manuel Landeta- supporting cast), I can also add Lisette Morelos and Rocio Banquells (NOT, alas, as a villain, however.. :-(
The ´Gran Hotel´ remake ¨El hotel de los secretos¨¨ is actively in promotion and all casting has already been revealed here. TAKE NOTE OF THIS ONE, EVERYBODY!!! IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS FABULOUS!!!!!

Very excited about "El Hotel de Los Secretos"; the promo video has definitely piqued my interest! I've never seen the lead protagonista before but I hear she is an accomplished cinema actress, so we're in for a treat acting-wise. I don't know about you but I for one I'm sick of pretty models with fake bubble assets strutting around in tops masquerading as dresses and delighting us with Zoolander faces and smell-the-fart acting. I also like Erick Elías and I feel he makes an effort to grow and improve as an actor. Moreover, it looks like we'll get a novela de epoca and a suspense novela all rolled into one! Can't wait!
After "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo", I foreswore Juan Osorio. He's second only to the Mejías in the mediocrity department but I find him particularly aggravating for his overuse of silly "comedy" scenes and mind-numbing schmaltz. Not to mention the interminable display of "talents" of the Osorio Kid! Aaaaargh! I fast-forwarded through half of MCET and if it weren't for Silvia Navarro and Jorge Salinas, I would've jumped ship after a couple of episodes. Having said that, I think I would still give "Sueño de Amor" a wee looksie purely for Cristián De la Fuente. Aaaaah the things one has to put up with for the sake of shameless ogling!

Nandicta:) You and I will be fighting over Cristian. I can see that now. I'm happy for Silvia, but unhappy for us that she and Cristian won't be together. I just checked out Betty Monroe. She's quite lovely and has a string of telenovelas for TV Azteca under her belt.

Anon10:44- That's interesting. There aren't enough remaining episodes of Yo No Creo en Los Hombres for it to go to January 24th. I wonder if that means Uni will show double episodes of Pasion y Poder for a few weeks?

It seems that- for better or for worse- Salvador Mejia is working on his latest. This will be a remake of a Venezuelan telenovela from 1992 called "Los Dos Dianas" and starred one of my favorite telenovela actresses, Lupita Ferrer (amongst others).
The remake is tentatively being called "Dos Dianas" and, before even announcing the names of the two protagonists, an announcement was made regarding the mature (or "first") protagonists- Cesar Evora and Victoria Ruffo.
Since then, the main protagonists have also been announced- Danna Garcia and Andres Palacios. More news as I get it!

So Uni isn't gonna air El Color De La Pasión? I'd almost rather see that than HDLS. ECDLP seems like it has a pretty good cast too: Erick Elías, Esmeralda Pimentel, Rene Strickler, Helena Rojo, Ariadne Díaz, Luis Gatica, Moises Arizmendi.....
