Destilando 11/26/07 "The Bichie is Back"

Well fans of Destilando…this is going to be short and fast. I have to be at the airport at 6:00am, so feel free to add any fun facts I may skip over.

The show begins with a replay of Sofie’s mia culpa..Jose & Isa getting the news that Frankie is dead.

Now in a moment of family bonding that would make Dr. Phil “Family First”, wipe a tear from his eye; Isa & Jose join together to go retrieve the charred remains of Frankie and give him a fine decent Christian burial. Isa isn’t doing it for the RatBastard Sperm donor, but for the Grandmother of lil BigHeadedNotRod’sBaby. The cynic in me says..yeah and for the rent free living quarters. I am sure that is just me as the show is ending soon and we don’t have time for Isa to pull anything at this point, so I guess we will just go with Isa now realizes there is more to life than jewelry, servants, fast cars and hawt boytoys. A lesson I will be certain to keep in mind should I win the lottery…. or not.

Dani & Elvis are sitting on the floor of Pilar’s house. Dani laments the bad luck the family is having. Elvis is the man with the plan, he tells Dani come on, Elvis is going to help them. Awesome I think to myself, maybe he is gonna go all 70’s James Brown Gangster on Aaron’s Ass.

Minnie is at home talking to Fredra.
I must insert here that I have noticed Fredra has been dressing all English, ruffles and jackets as of late, Que the Hell? She has really gone all Camilla Bowles. Minnie tells Fedra that Isa played hide the salami with Aaron. Fedra does her usual fake look of surprise. Minnie is all, don’t pull that with me, I know you know everything Aaron does. Fedra tries to look innocent. Minnie goes on to bring up the whole Pammy incident. Minnie tells Fedra, “I will tell you exactly what I told Aaron, one more indiscretion and I will take this little Varron I’m packing and its off to Spain. The kid will come back to be the rightful owner to the entire fortune.” Fedra is Muy Impacted.
----Minnie is unaware that the fortune is now down to some bad Tequila and some Agave putrefying in the warm sun of Jalisco.

Aaron & Bruno are having ugly words over the Rod situation, Bruno says the only reason Rod is in jail is cause he tried to protect Gavi, but Bruno isn’t accusing Gavi he is just telling Aaron that he isn’t going with Aaron’s whole story.

Aaron has one of his snorting coke fits. Aaron yells at Margarita, he wants Quintana to have the financial records by 11:00. Aaron is acting all crackwhore in front of newchick, I think she is the new secretary who will replace Margarita. This newchick looks like she wants to rethink her employment options.

Pilar & Videgaray are having a sit down with Av*, they fill him in on the whole “Rod confesses to anything and everything”, this was done to protect MariAnne Franco (Gavi), I can see Av’s jaw clench. For the love of Gawd, he must gnash his teeth and pull at his remaining hair every time her name is mentioned. Well Gavi can’t know that Rod is in jail or why. Shhh it is a big secret, she will return. Rod is going to work this out, soon, real soon. Av* says he will do everything he can to keep her in England, but if the authorities want to talk to her, she will return to England. Pilar continues with the not that I really love Rod more, but Aaron seems to be the RatBastard behind the whole thing.

Now flash to merry ol England. Gavi and her newboss are talking about Tequila, Gavi spouts some brown-nosing Tequila fun facts. Newboss has that glazed eye expression, we have all known and come to love. It is the El KaBong look, if this was a cartoon the men would have *’s instead of eyes meaning they were totally overwhelmed by Gavi’s Gaviness. However, even though he has * eyes, alas he does not have time to act this as the show is ending.

Now flash to Rod, he is sitting in the prison playground. Behind Rod we see other prisoners doing that scene from the 'Código Postal' commercial where all the cool kids play volleyball, only these guys are wearing prison khakis instead of thongs. Rod always the loner is sitting with a tear running down his cheek thinking of Gavi. OMG can you believe it? Gavi is sitting at her new job thinking of Rod, with teary eyes.

Back at Pilar’s it appears there is an exorcism going on. This is so Naco, as if Pilar would allow bad spirits in her house; that is just so common. The guy is Elvis’s uncle and he has the smoking incense, the herbs and so on. He is singing a song that the words “Baba Lu” are often repeated. Here is a link to the whole BabaLu thing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babalu

Personally I think the James Brown Gangster treatment would have gotten better results. Pilar comes home and the three (Tio, Elvis and Dani) are walking around casting out evil. Pilar starts to put up a protest, but I think she is loosing the will to berate underlings.

Over at LaCoca central, Aaron comes out of his office, it is 11:00 and where the hell is Quintana? Quintana comes running up with two big 3inch binders. Aaron jerks one out his hands and walks off. Quintana gives the other to Margarita, it is the copy of the financial records that Dani requested.

Aaron & Soto are looking over his records. Soto says they are clean. He asks Aaron if anyone else could have any knowledge of Aaron’s illegal dealings? No no one. Aaron says Fedra & Minnie don’t know. Then he remembers Pammie and the USB theft. Aaron does one of his trying to swallow a huge fur ball fits. Aaron has NewChick call Pammie. Pammie is lying on the couch, Pammie’s Ma comes in. The phone is ringing and ringing. Poor Ma thinks Pammie is having another episode. No, Pammie is just lying on the couch in the same position she has been in for the past two years. Move on. Finally Pammie answers the phone. She tells NewChick that Pammie is on a vacation and won't be back for a month. She hangs up and tells her mother. Pammie knows Aaron is worried about the USB, she knows it is a result of her father going to the CRT about Aaron’s business dealings.

Dani & Vigaray to see Rod in jail. Geez he has been in the slammer like two days and it doesn’t seem to me he is doing much to pay his debt to society. I mean I know he is innocent, but dude did cop a plea. Anyway, Av* calls Videgaray and he steps away to take the call. Dani finds out the romance killing lies that Rod told Gavi. Once again, Dani laments Rod’s stupidity. Hey it will be okay cause they are going to prove his innocence then it will be all sunshine and smooth pavement back to Gavi.

Pammies Pa is talking to Av*, the talk is about Pammie testifying to Aaron’s bad business dealings. Alas laments Pa, if only we knew the password.

Pammie is playing with the USB, she gets a text mail from Aaron. He signs it Biche. The light goes on. She plugs in the USB and types in Biche…No Access, she types in Bichito and the files part in an act of heavenly retribution that hasn’t been seen since Moses parted the Red Seas. Bichito, can you believe it? I would have bet my life on the Spanish version of “Big Swinging D*ck”, this was the big term used during all the 80’s insider trading. Anyway of course it is now a shout out to Elton John & Cosmic Justice with a few lines from..

The Bitch is Back

I was justified when I was five
Raising cane, I spit in your eye
Times are changing, now the poor get fat
But the fevers gonna catch you when the bitch gets back

Feeling warm Aaron? Cause the fever is coming

Meanwhile, we get a couple of outside shots of downtown Madrid, it is night and there really aren’t many cars on the road.
---Readers, I recently heard on NPR that Spain has the highest consumption of cocaine per capita of any country in the world, and even without the cocaine, Madrid is like a bustling metropolis. Now that Dr Blando has arrived, well things just seem a bit depressed, people just sit around with the drapes drawn contemplating the emptiness of existence. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
Av* has called Blando and tells him he needs to go to London. Blando guarding his heart, queries “Is Rod with Gavi?” “No”, Av* answers, “Gavi is alone”. Blando has that same look on his face that “The Beaver” used to get every time Miss Landers was nice to him. Av* hangs up and shakes his head while thing of people and their illusions.

Now over in Tequila, the rapidly expanding SanWanna runs into Carmelo on the street. She is looking quite pregnant. Carmelo offers to marry her and give the baby a father. SanWanna hugs him and thanks him and gives him the generic, it’s me not you and someday you’ll meet a wonderful girl who deserves you and have awesome kids. Crispin watches from across the street and writes it all down. I am amazed, not that the old gossip is eavesdropping, but that he is sober enough to write.

Sofie is talking to Ofelia, she tells her that she believes Hil is the father of the kid and after all Ofelia and Roman are the grandparents and how you can’t turn your back. Ofelia goes to make Tamales. I guess we are supposed to “Like” Sofie now that she is reformed. I say bah to that. Sofies little ray of sunshine is soon banished as here come the bankers, they are wanting to see the records. I am not sure, but I’m thinking liquidation of all things Hacienda may soon be in order.

Now back to England. NewBoss is on the phone with Av*, he talks to Gavi. Av* tells her that he has heard great things about her work. (seriously, this just makes me feel my own position in life of a “Source of Constant Disappointment”, that much more deeply). Gavi has been on the job like one day and already she is the shining star. Gavi with out coming out and asking is like, so how’s thing in Mexico? Meaning has Rod been looking for me? Av* answers nothing new, everything is fine, but he is very unconvincing.

On over to Gavi’s new digs. Clarita & Gavi are chatting it up when there is a knock at the door. Clarita answers the door and all she can say is yes to any question. Gavi comes over and the man introduces himself as Thomas. He is the hotel guy that will help them and keep an eye on things. Clarita is kinda flirting with him, then Gavi has to translate. Gavi does a fine job, being that she has that quickie course taught by the nuns those four long years ago. Thomas promises to keep an eye on Clarita. Gavi teases Clarita about Thomas and clearly Clarita is feeling feelings she hasn’t felt since she sucked in dust trailing after Don Amador as she walked while he rode a fine horse back in the salad days on the Hacienda.

Flash to Rod in prison shirtless and doing push ups, Rod is not suffering from the high carb prison diet. As he does his pushups you can see a half shoe on the upper bunk on the right side. That is either his new bunk buddy or the case of his missing Zappatos has just been solved.

Another knock at the door..Gavi answers and who is standing at the threshold? None other than Dr Blandie. Gavi is almost as Muy Impacted as I am.

Kids let this be a lesson to you…like an STD, Dr Blandie comes back. Take all that medication and stamp it out in the beginning, don’t let yourself be surprised by a knock on the door.

Looks like there were previews for tommorrow nite…
Seems like Clarita is trying to get Thomas drunk on Tequila. Now all she needs is a big tree.
Like daughter like mother.

Destilando Amor, 11/23/07: The Dead and The Destitute

[My VCR recorded only black static last night, so I have only this from memory and a bit of esmas to go by for now, till I double check my daughter's Tivo. Hope I didn't lose much.]

We begin when the daring and defiant Daniela arrives back at the manse with the loyal and ever-regal, legal eagle, Videgaray, just in time to have Elvis come out scolding them for allowing Grammie P to become frightened by their secrecy and the call that she just received from Avellaneda. Pilar comes out then and demands to know what has happened to Rod. She wants the truth and nothin' but!!

Meanwhile, Francisco and Priscilla, both mentally patting themselves on the back for the con they're playing so successfully on each other, start heavy smooching at 80 mph on a narrow two-lane. Frankie doesn't notice the one semi truck passing the other and which are both coming from the opposite direction until it's too late. Darwin's principle of natural selection takes over and two sets of stupid genes are abruptly scrubbed from the gene pool. (We can assume here that little Ricky got the recessive intelligence and the nurturing benevolence genes from Jose's side of the family.)

Priscilla dies immediately, but Frankie hangs on long enough to make it to the hospital. He has been literally boiled in motor oil and regains consciousness only long enough to realize he's dying and mutilated beyond all recognition. In the throws of his agony he mumbles to his mother to forgive him, rolls his one remaining lidless eye, then dies as his half-melted fingers clutch spasmodically at the air in one last, torturous tremor. (Now that, folks, is cosmic justice writ large!)
=============

Across town Dani explains to Pilar that Rod took the blame for everything to ensure that Mariana Franco would not lose her prestigious position with the CRT.

Rod is suffering a bit of claustrophobia in his cell. Later on he starts to breathe deeply as he remembers his and Gavi's little "marriage ritual" by the waterfall. Somewhere along the way he says to himself, as he clings to the bars, that when he finally gets free he'll look for Gavi and explain everything to her. At the same time Gavi is awake on the plane thinking that she never really knew this guy at all and blames herself for having gone looking for him at the airport and then allowing him to sweet-talk her into going off with him for another weekend tryst. She just cannot understand why he played with her feelings like that and says as much to Clarita. Clarita's spot on reply is essentially, "Well, if you'd have made that little call like I told you to, you'd know by now."

Back on terra firma at Montalvo Corporate Offices Aaron demands that Lluvia tell the authorities in her statement that the employees in shipping abused her trust and she merely signed the shipping documents without reading through them. Lluvia defiantly defends the people in shipping and says that would have been an impossibility because of the strict measures that are always taken. Aaron spits and spazzes in frustration 'cuz of course he knows all this and simply doesn't need or want to hear it from a no-account, smart-mouthed, ex-sexratary like her. He warns her that if she doesn't follow the lawyer's and his advice she'll end up in jail.
===============

Isa calls Pilar's from some coffee shop, looking for Rod. Dani answers and doesn't fall for the old-disguise-your-voice-with-a-handkerchief trick. (Damn! The A-team must have been back outside tokin' again, cuz even I couldn't believe they'd resort to a plot device that hackneyed.) Dani recognizes who it is after asking a couple times for the name of the caller.

Daniela tells Isa outright that her brother is otherwise occupied and in jail, paying for a crime he didn't commit, and that she would have loved to tell her future ex-SIL that Rod hadn't backed up her daddy's debt (to get and to keep his sorry rear out of jail) and that it was all a bad dream that Frankie the Fraud hadn't sold their copper sulfate to black marketeers leaving the whole plantation infested with bugs and worms; but it is, in fact, their reality now. So since Rod is totally ruined because of her and that louse of a lover of hers, she can forget asking for anything more from any of them.

Isa confesses then that Frankie left her for one of his lovers, stole her car and took most all her remaining cash, that then she had to sneak out of the hotel without paying the bill and now has nothing for the baby, not even a place to stay. Dani softens up when she hears this and agrees to deposit the monthly stipend Rod arranged for Ricky.

This isn't enough for Isa and she insists she needs the hotel billed paid, too (obviously to keep the cops from throwing her in the calaboose along with Rod). Dani says there isn't enough cash to cover that. Isa will have to make do and solve that problem herself. Isa agrees to call the next day with an account number for the deposit and hangs up.

Jose comes in looking for Isa and the baby and offers to put her up at her place. Isa is amazed that the woman would offer to help a perfect stranger like this but she accepts.

Everyone there in the city except for Patricio (and the incarcerated Rod) comes to Pilar's for the family meeting. Aaron assures his once gullible Grammie that Rod and Mariana Franco are the only ones guilty of criminally doctoring tequila and illicitly shipping it off to foreign ports. He also suggests that either of them probably also knew where to hide their dirty money in order to use it later on when it becomes necessary. Pilar asks Aaron if Mariana had access to that kind of money, how come when he fired her, she was out on the street and practically starving months later. Greed outweighs Minnie's hurt pride and despite the fact she's grimacing next to her adored Aaron, she backs his story.

Pilar tells Aaron that at least, if Rod is guilty, she will recognize that he had the dignity to accept it. She is emphatic in warning Aaron that if she finds out it was actually he who conspired to devise such scandalous and illicit activities now destroying the family, she will never pardon him for it. Minnie stands up for Aaron against Pilar's "partiality". Fedra chimes in with another complaint that Rod's the grandson Pilar's always spoiled and says she's heard enough and is leaving. As they get up to go, Pilar asks Bruno to get to the bottom of this as soon as he can.

Once they are gone, Nestor tells Pilar that he believes Bruno was not privy to any of this. Daniela remarks that Patricio wasn't there and complains that he is just a puppet of Aaron's.

Back at Pat's place, he is explaining to Lluvia that he couldn't face Pilar without breaking down and confessing everything, so he simply stayed away. Lluvia is worried about Rod and Gavi taking the fall for Aaron's rotten schemes and complains to Patricio for always confiding in and counting on Aaron. She tells him she's frightened of having to lie when she gives her statement.

Aaron tells Minnie that as soon as they sentence Rod they'll leave the country since Rod can very easily break at the thought of facing a 20 year jail sentence.

Jose arrives home with Isa and Ricky in her apartment. She offers her the bedroom for the two of them to sleep in and suggests they could stay and live with her. They get to talking and Isa wonders about Jose's family. Jose tells her that she has a son named Pancho but that he comes around very little to see her. She lives there alone. Sure she had some good friends, but they have just recently moved far away.

Later, in Jose's bedroom, Isa thinks about the helping hand Jose has given her, and that she of all people never expected to end up living in the "vecindad" (a barrio, aka, the inner-city).

In London, capital of England, Olavaria hands over the keys of their new, prestigiously posh pad, to Gavi. Clarita practically swoons at the surrounding luxury that was once unimaginable for either of them. Gavi, though, is oblivious to it all and walks out onto her balcony. Staring out at the city she remembers her first trip to London. She says to herself that four years ago she came to London looking for Rodrigo Montalvo, and now that she's back this time around in this city she'll learn to forget him.

Back in Mexico City at the corporate offices, Aaron unceremoniously informs Margarita that he's decided she's done working at the corporation as of that day and must leave at 2 PM sharp. Before he goes back into his office, though, Quintana comes out to tell him he's working on the financial reports for Turquoise Agave that his lawyer and Aaron have asked for. Aaron says he wants them on his desk at 11 AM on the dot and goes back inside his office.

Margarita has obviously learned a thing or two working for the Montalvos and shrewdly asks Quintana for a copy of those financial statements he's working on, saying she needs them as a file copy. He says they're confidential but she persuades him by saying that she better than anybody understands the need for confidentiality with someone like Aaron in charge, and so he agrees to make her a copy for the files.

Across town at the prison Vid tells Rod that Dani gave Aaron the message about his retracting his confession if anything at all happens to Mariana Franco. He is certain that Aaron will not try anything since it doesn't suit his purpose. Rod confesses to Nestor he regrets that he was so cruel to Gavi when breaking off with her, but he had to make sure she would go to London like she had planned. Nestor commiserates and then walks over to open the door and brings in Pilar to speak with him.

Rod is moved to tears and, being in a jail, is compelled to wipe his face and nose on his sleeve like the other hardened criminals there. Pilar just continues to stare with that signature smile of hers frozen in place, not once (to my eternal chagrin) thinking to offer him her hanky. Rod assures Pilar that this was all a trap Aaron had set for him, and he swears that sooner or later he will prove his innocence. He asks her when she goes to speak with Avellaneda to tell him the whole truth concerning Gaviota and him, as it would be unfair to make her come back from London. It would make his sacrifice useless.

At Montalveña James tells Sofia that he will have to settle up with the workers and let them all go since everything is probably lost. She refuses this idea and tells him that the two of them together will fight to come out ahead with the hacienda and what they can save of the agave crop. James can no longer contain himself and he kisses Sofia and she kisses back. He confesses that he still loves her and now feels only a brotherly love towards Acacia. He's worried she still feels something for her ex, but Sofia admits that she has no feelings for Frankie and tells him that "that curse is now Isa's problem."

Sofia, who has had an epiphany somewhere during this tragedy, says she's very happy together with James, working side by side at the hacienda with him. They remember the old days in London when they were short for cash a lot of the time and the silly things they did to get by.

Back in the barrio, Isa explains to Jose that a smooth-talking playboy stole her car and she is planning to make a complaint to the police. It seems that Jose apparently took care of the hotel bill for Isa somewhere along the line. Jose agrees that this man should be punished for what he's done to Isa. Isa is moved and says that once the police get her car back she'll sell it and repay everything.

Just then Isa gets a call on her cell from the police asking about her car's license plate numbers. When she says those are her car's they ask her if she knows a Francisco de la Vega. Isa tells the caller that of course she knows the name Francisco de la Vega then she, impactada, tells Jose that the father of her child is dead.

Isa explains to Jose that Francisco de la Vega is the father of her child and there was a car accident, that his lover died at the site of the accident and that he died a bit later at the Red Cross. Jose chokes out a scream of horror at the news and her eyes fill with tears. Isa gets confused at Jose's extreme reaction, and is wide-eyed impactada when Jose, trembling from the shock of this news, screams in a shrill, piercing voice that Francisco de la Vega is her son.

Destilando Amor - 11/22/2007 Happy Thanksgiving Treats from Univision!

Hour #1 - repeat of episode that aired Nov. 2, 2007 (CAT FIGHT! DOG FIGHT! CAT/DOG FIGHT!)

Hour #2 - repeat of episode that aired Nov. 15, 2007 (when Rod and Gavi are away, Aaron becomes a menace)

of the plethora of Pasion promos, the one that really caught my attention was the one that announced Univision's christmas gift -- Pasion starting Dec. 4.

And since I didn't have to do any recaps, here are some ironic coincidences I have noticed about pirates:
1. Disney will be releasing Pirate of the Caribbean 3 on DVD on Dec. 4
2. Univision will start to air Pasion on Dec. 4.
3. During the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Sarah Brightman was aboard the float the Holly Jolly ship, with a pirate crew and she was wearing a costume that looked really similar to FC's pirate costume in Pasion.
4. And how funny is it that Univision's computer animated self-promo for Thanksgiving would be a flock of pilgrim turkeys on a ship that crash lands on Univision Plymouth Rock.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! :)

Destilando 11/21: Happily, Mrs. "Be-Done-By-As-You-Did" comes to call

When I was a kid my mother terrified me with a Victorian children's book called "Water Babies." In this horrid story frail, tiny, young, undernourished, tuberculosis-wracked chimney sweeps in London die and are reincarnated underwater. This underwater world of dead children is managed by a sweet, nice fairy called "Mrs. Do-As-You-Would-Be-Done-By" and a scary, mean one called "Mrs. Be-Done-By-As-You-Did." This recap is dedicated to the latter.

By the way, my daughter is here for only one day and this recap is sketchy due to extreme desire to be playing with her. Happy Turkey Day, all...

  • Isa realizes that her dear Frankie has stuffed all her dough - except for a few shekels of milk money for Rickie - and all his fancy clothes and shoes and handkerchiefs into her car and has split for good.

She calls her mom, who, with Rickie Sr. happily playing golf in the background, tells Isa "This is all your own fault, take care of it yourself."

She visits Minerva, who is very snippy and says "You should never have come to my house. How did you dare do this? I introduced you to Rodrigo, you just wanted to marry into the Montalvo family to get your clutches on their dough, then you run off with your brother-in-law!"

Isa: "I thought of you as my sister! But it was YOU who used ME - to keep Rodrigo from the real threat, Gaviota. You saw he didn't love me! It's not my fault! Francisco was an accident." Minerva complacently points out she never strayed even when Aaron did. Then she yells: "You won't spend even one night under this roof! I wouldn't trust you with my husband!"

Aaron arrives. Minerva announces that Isa is just leaving. Aaron: "I hope you've changed the last name of that little bastard." Isa: "I was one of the many women Aaron has held in his arms - he didn't tell you? He seduced me. Do you dare deny it, Aaron?"

She leaves and Minerva refuses to hear Aaron's stringy excuses. "Have you forgotten the condition I imposed when I came back to you? That if you ever strayed again, I would leave you? You will never see your son."

Isa then calls her lawyer and reams him out again about money. He says she hasn't been paying her bills. She says the bills are unreasonable. He fires her as a client and hangs up on her, she calls him an old rat and wonders what to do next.

Penniless, she is sneaking out of the hotel in the service elevator when who should enter but Jose, grannie of BigHeadBaby!! She frostily informs Isa she's in the service elevator. Isa tearily whines: "I'm penniless, my jackass of a husband abandoned me, please don't rat me out."

  • Rod makes an incoherent confession and exonerates the honorable and innocent Mariana Franco. He lies a lot despite warnings that if he's found to be lying, he'll be in worse trouble. He says "I had one and only one accomplice, he was in on everything, his name is Lorenzo Oñate." He later tells Videgaray: "I'm sure Oñate is key to this whole business, and I wanted to be sure I'd see him."

Rod is taken to jail where he takes off his shoes and tie and looks quite fetching with his shirt unbuttoned. He sits on the floor in his cell and glowers.

(Am I understanding that there was ten times as much tequila when the shipments got where they were going? Aaron was diluting it 1:10? Nobody noticed?)

  • Clarita and her giant box of saints and her furious daughter make a brief appearance, Clarita complaining that the airplane hasn't come yet and Gaviota explaining federal regulations require them to be at the airport three hours early. Was this a public service announcement (so we in the audience will not miss our flights) or is somebody going to arrive with an important message?

  • Frankie's shirt is as unbuttoned as Rod's, but he is seemingly much better off than Rod, being on his way to a luxury jaunt with Priscilla. Neither has a functioning credit card - they tell each other lies - Frankie pays the hotel bill in cash. Priscilla tells a friend on the phone that her husband has cut her off and she's penniless.

In the car, they are smooching away, eyes on the prize - thinking the "shmaltz-grub" (Yiddish for "pot of gold," literally "pit of chicken fat") has arrived... Priscilla praises him for making stupendous time. "This is just proof," he boasts, "that Francisco de la Vega always does as he promises."

Frankie notices two tractor-trailers side-by-side coming, at warp speed, towards him and his fellow con artist in the sporty little car stolen from Isa. He is impactado - figuratively for now, actual impact will hopefully follow shortly.

  • Aaron is exhilarated in a coked-up way, he's suspicious that Rod has taken the blame but is willing to run with it. He thinks all the Corporation's problems will now be resolved and the freeze on their accounts lifted, but there is an ongoing investigation. He boasts that Oñate has created for him an impeccable paper trail.

Patricio is furious that his girlfriend Lluvia has gotten a subpoena. She's terrified. He promises no harm will come to her.

However, he watches wordlessly as Aaron struts and boasts and blames Rod for everything. Daniela enters and tells Bruno "Your son is so cold-blooded and you won't hear a word against him. You, Patricio, you're not cold-blooded but you're weak. By the way, Aaron, Rod has a message for you: if any harm comes to Gaviota, he'll retract his confession." Aaron gloats that he doesn't need to lift a finger against Gaviota, CRT will do the punishing. Daniela clarifies: that would constitute harm and would trip the retraction.

Daniela leaves. Patricio asks how long Aaron plans to keep this up, and complains that Lluvia is implicated. Aaron says if they move fast they can get it all sewed up, and Rod safely put away, before his team can move against them. Patricio asks: "Have you not wondered how CRT found out about these irregularities?"

Cut to Pammie, not looking so healthy, thoughtbubbling: "Aaron wasn't sure what his feelings for me were. But I am sure of my feelings for him: great love and infinate hate."

Realizing that Margarita plays for the other team, Aaron fires her. In the hallway Videgaray whispers to her that she is Rod's only hope (in terms of getting proof of Aaron's evildoing).

  • Pilar, who has been handed a bunch of bull about the whole situation, hears from Av* that Rodrigo has confessed. She asks if she can come see Av* in the morning. "Yes, but don't bring Aaron or Bruno." Elvis is very sweet to her.

She calls Bruno and insists that he and Aaron come speak to her immediately. Aaron says he's too busy to go but Bruno won't let him weasel out of it.

  • Back in the agave fields, everybody is scattering white stuff around, even San Juana, her baby is going to be born with two heads if she doesn't watch out. Aaron has made some demand about agaves which horrifies James. Sofia tells James about Rod going to jail. He is further horrified. They have a chaste hug.

Tues 11/20 Destilando Amor: A piñata of anvils

Whoa! Looks like I had a lot of facts wrong when I originally wrote this. This is what I get for passing on something I've heard without confirming it myself. I've added some corrections below in red. Here's more about piñatas. Here's more about agaves. Here's more about bromeliads, which are only distantly related to agaves even though both their fruits are called piñas. And here's more about anvils.

The word "piñata" refers to Italian pine-nuts and is also related to the word "piña," which refers to pineapples like you get from Hawaii, as well as the fruit of any type of bromeliad, as well as the agave. Just as a piñata is filled with candy, a piña is filled with juice.

A couple of years ago, I went to a birthday party for my nephew; I heard there was going to be a piñata. I was surprised to see Spongebob hanging from the ceiling with strings coming out of his square pants.

Today's kinder, gentler piñata technology lets each kid pick a string and pull, rather than swing a baseball bat around while blindfolded and hopped up on sugar. One of the strings opens the piñata, and then candy rains out of Spongebob's bottom.

The world's biggest piñata has been drizzling little anvils for weeks, but the heaviest anvils are still trapped inside, waiting for some poor sucker to pull the one string that rules them all.

Who will be the lucky string-yanker?
And what noise will he make when he is crushed?

Nestor Videgaray, Pilar, and Dani talk about Rod moving to England. Nestor predicts that Rod will come back periodically to take care of things. Pilar talks about Rod's problems (the few she knows about) and says it's a good thing he has the woman he loves at his side - she will infuse him with the strength to solve all of his problems.

Dani and Nestor exchange such obviously pained looks that Pilar becomes alarmed. They quickly assure her that she's right and everything will be fine. She is too tired to push it.

Meanwhile, Gavi finishes a conversation with Rodrigo and updates her mother:
Gavi to Mom: Rod's still at his Granny's and the big family dinner is canceled.
Clarita: ¿Como así? (ha-ha, that never gets old, does it?)
Gavi: He'll take us out afterwards.
Clarita: Yay! Love is great!

Rod shuffles into Pilar's living room looking like the living dead and tells Pilar he's going to take Gavi and Clarita out for dinner. He suggests that Pilar go to bed. She agrees, but first asks Dani to help her fix up Rodrigo's room. (I wondered where Imelda was, but realized that they probably have to let her sleep once in a while.)

Nestor wants to leave too, to prepare for tomorrow. But first, Rod wants to figure out what they can do for Gaviota. Nestor says there's nothing to figure out - she'll have to appear at the hearing tomorrow. They need to face Aaron's accusations. He warns that until Rod and Gavi clear their names, they might be "detained" and probably won't be allowed to leave the country.

Rodrigo hates putting Gavi in this situation, but Nestor thinks she'll understand that they're victims of circumstance. As for the idea of putting Gavi on that plane, she'll lose her job if the CRT thinks she's trying to flee from justice. That will only make things worse.

Rodrigo very rashly decides that the absolute only way to solve this problem is to confess to everything and claim that he was just using her. He can't let her go to jail. He figures he's going to lose everything anyway, what with all the hacienda problems and debt, so he's got nothing more to lose; while Gavi still has her brilliant career. As for himself, he doesn't care if he ends to prison. He just wants to get her out of the country. He'll take all of the blame so they won't even need to talk to her.

Nestor gets steamed - I don't think I've ever seen him nearly this angry before. They yell and scream at each other. Nestor is furious that Rodrigo won't let him do his lawyerin'; that he's going to ruin his life for something he didn't even do. Aaron's been leaning on the judge to hurry this case, and Rod's just going to make it easier for Aaron to get his way, when Rod and Nestor should be looking for evidence to incriminate Aaron.

Dani comes in to report that Granny suspects that they're hiding something. Nestor asks Rod, "Have you thought about her?" Rod shrugs and says she'll find out sooner or later anyway. Nestor insists that Rod share his cockamamie plan with Dani. Rod tries to weasel out of it. Nestor says he would like to hear Dani's opinion of it, because he doesn't want any part of this decision on his conscience.

Dani tells Rod she won't leave until he tells her, but Nestor loses patience and tells her himself. Rod grinds his teeth in frustration. Dani is speechless.

It is getting late. Clarita begins to worry that Rod has chickened out on them again. Gavi is sure that is not the case. She tells Clarita they're practically married already, because of their little ceremony at the waterfall. They'll be together forever. The cheap seashell necklaces are as good as engagement rings.

Clarita reports that she has a bad feeling about this. Gavi complains about her mother's superstitions, but begins to get a bad feeling too. They try to soothe their troubled souls with some tequila, but for some reason it doesn't work. Clarita tries fanning some imaginary bad-luck vultures away from Gavi's head; Gavi tries to fan away her mother's gloomy omens.

Rod explains to Dani that there's no sense in both him and Gavi going to prison. (He seems less willing to consider keeping BOTH of them out of there.) He asks for her support. She hugs him and begs him not to ask her to do this. Rod feels it's inevitable.

Nestor, the party-pooper, says the ministry is not going to forget about Mariana just because Rod asks them to. She was a manager there at the time. Rod says that she was still a subordinate and he can claim that he made her sign those things. He says this is the only choice they have, and this is what he's going to do, and Nestor has to go along with it.

Dani says it sounds plausible, but Rod hasn't considered what Gavi might think. (He says "she doesn't have to know.") She will never go along with this. How is he going to explain when he doesn't go to London with her? He should tell her the truth. Rod says he's not backing off from his plan.

Change of scenery: Frankie and Priscilla, the two penniless high-living would-be jetsetters, are making out in his car like a couple of kids past curfew. Pris gets coy with him and says she doesn't want to feel guilty in the morning. Frankie asks if she's having such a bad time. She says no, and that's why she needs to go!

Frankie wants to go to her place. No can do - she doesn't want to annoy her friend that she's staying with. He says he knows a place. She turns him down because she has to get up early and get ready for a trip. He asks if she won't feel guilty about leaving him this way. He knows a place!! She tells him to forget it... but she doesn't stop kissing him.

She suggests that he go with her to Careyes (it's on the coast in Jalisco). He loves this idea and says he'll call her at 10. She hurriedly says no - she'll call him at his suite to make sure he gets up early enough. He says don't worry if a woman answers - it'll be his assistant, a workaholic who always shows up very early.

Priscilla goes into her apartment. Frankie mutters to himself that there goes his poverty.

Gavi is on the phone with Rod while Clarita listens to Pepe Aguilar. Gavi has to ask her to turn it down. She teases Rodrigo for leaving them hanging. (There's an unnecessary close-up of the boom box, which looks just like the one from the drunken night at Isa's place when Minnie was singing the Gaviota song.) Rod says he's tired to have dinner tonight after all. Gavi says they can always eat when they're in London, but her mother might not be so quick to forgive.

There is more silly small talk. When it gets too mushy for Clarita's liking, she turns the music way up. Clarita dedicates the song to Rod and has Gavi hold the phone up to the speaker. Rod laughs in spite of himself. He says he'll pick them up at 10:30. Gavi would like to leave earlier to say goodbye to Pilar, Dani, etc. He bites his tongue and agrees.

He winces as she says, "Never forget I love you, I adore you, I idolize you with all my heart. You are the master of my heart. I am completely yours." (She should know better by now - every time she says that, something awful happens.) He doesn't answer right away. He says he's tired. She tells him to rest and asks God to bless him a thousand times. He just says goodbye.

Gavi tells Clarita that Rod was acting strange. Clarita reminds her that he's tired.

Rodrigo broods late into the night. He tells Dani that tomorrow he's going to have to make up some excuse to Gaviota. He's been up all night thinking of what he's going to say. Dani asks what they're going to say Granny when he ends up not going to London? He says he'll blame it on the hacienda emergency. (I forgot - she knows about the plagues at the hacienda; she doesn't know about the fraud at the corporativo.)

He tells Dani he has faith that God will help him, but he needs Dani too. She hugs him and wonders why everything is going against them. Rod says he doesn't know, but he hopes this curse doesn't affect Gavi too. And that nothing else happens to him.

Meanwhile, Gavi is having a happy flashback to frolicking with Rodrigo in his bumblebee shirt.

Frankie finally gets home. Isa makes an icy remark. He says it took a long time to tour the huge plant. She makes another sarcastic remark. He says the time he's put in has paid off - they're going to sign his contract tomorrow, give him the money he asked for, all kinds of benefits, and three productivity-based bonuses a year.

Isa sits up a bit but does not jump for joy. She tells him to ask them for an advance, because they need to rent a place. As usual, she insists on going with him for his meeting at 10. She'll get a sitter for Ricky. She wants to personally meet his bosses and make sure it's a real job. He says he's getting irritated with her attitude, after all he's done for her (what has he done for her?), blah blah blah. She sarcastically says yes, she can see how much he's suffering.

The next morning, Rodrigo is studying the family photos on his desk while finalizing his plans over the phone with Nestor. Pilar comes in and notes that he's in the same clothes; didn't he sleep? He says he did, but got up early.

He tells her that the plans have changed. He's not going to London. He gives her a hug, says he'll explain later, and leaves to take a bath.

Alone in the room, Pilar glances around nervously. (Don't be scared, Granny. It's probably just the anvils rattling.)

Elsewhere: Aaron in casual clothes, chatting with Larry "The Snake" Oñate on a very frightened telephone. He tells Larry to stay in the Caymans for a while, and don't call. Aaron will find him. And of course Larry should go on distributing their "special" hooch. All of it. They've already got a couple of suckers to pay for the "broken plates."

Aaron smiles coldly; the phone breathes a sigh of relief, having cheated death for the time being.

Doña Jose is saying goodbye to Clarita and Gaviota and saying how much she will miss them. They talk about the furniture (are they letting her keep it?) and Gavi says she'll send her some tickets in a few months so she can visit. She begs them to call her as soon as they can.

At the Public Ministry: Nestor tells the judge (?) he doesn't need to see Gaviota - Rod's coming over voluntarily and is pleading guilty. He hopes to spare his family, the corporativo, and Gaviota any trouble.

With a tiny scoff, the judge says that's not up to Rodrigo. They still need to do an investigation. Nestor argues that Gavi's taking a big job in London for the CRT, so he would appreciate it if they'd at least listen to Rodrigo before issuing a warrant against her. That's Rodrigo's condition for giving himself up and cooperating fully. That way they can resolve the case as quickly as possible. He has no prior offenses, and he'll be there in just a couple of hours.

The judge agrees to this and tells his clerk not to issue the warrants yet. The judge doesn't exactly lick his chops, but he looks quite happy at the prospect of landing such a big fish.

Gavi and her mother are now saying goodbye to Liliana, to whom they have given a potted plant. (I don't know who she is - maybe she's the neighbor who warned Rodrigo away all those many months ago when he was stalking Gavi? Whoever she is, I certainly feel better now that we have closure.)

Gavi assures Clarita that they can bring Clarita's santitos on the plane as carry-on luggage. Clarita's nervous about moving so far away.

At Pilar's, Rod is saying goodbye to Dani and telling her to tell Sofie what's going on. Pilar comes in and he tells her he's going to meet with Nestor and then go to the hacienda. Pilar is concerned that Gavi and her mom are going alone. He's like yeah, he'll catch up with them in a few days.

She looks at him intently and asks if everything's okay. "Oh sure, everything's great! And it's going to get better! You'll see!" She gives him a blessing. He gives Dani another hug, and Granny another hug. Pilar shivers slightly, in spite of the sunlight shining on her from the window. Dani tries to cheer her up.

Up in the Presidential Suite, Isa answers the phone before Frankie can reach it. It's Priscilla Llorente! He whispers to Isa that she's his future employer's HR director. He makes a date with Priscilla right in front of Isa, who must be wondering if anybody at this unnamed company has an actual office with desks and chairs. She asks why he didn't tell them she's going too. He insists she can't go with him. The meeting's in an hour! She says no problem - she'll be ready in 15 minutes. He says he'll give her an extra five.

Gavi is getting nervous. She wanted to leave early to say goodbye to Rod's peeps, but now it's getting late. Clarita suggests calling, but Gavi doesn't want to pressure him. The she sees him waiting outside. She tells Clarita to say goodbye to the house. Clarita gives the magic telenovela-machine a big hug. (I guess nobody told her that they have TVs in London too. I bet she'd love Benny Hill reruns.)

Frankie is packing up his things as fast as he can. He takes the money out of the safe in big sloppy handfuls that he stuffs into his pockets, ignoring the knocking at the door.

The baby catches his eye. Frankie backs away from him warily, like a vampire catching a whiff of garlic. He tosses a few bills back into the safe. "That's for your milk." He seems almost ashamed to be leaving money behind. He zips his bags shut, and catches the baby staring at him innocently again. Frankie sighs - probably just from the stress of the moment - and hurries out the other door as the baby starts to fuss.

The window-washer at Gavi's building helps put their things in Rod's car and refuses a tip. Gavi gives him a hug goodbye. (Yes, the window-washer. We are truly saying goodbye to everyone. We totally mean business.)

Rodrigo is subdued. She asks what's wrong - "you seemed a little depressed last night." He says he can't go - something suddenly came up! Gavi asks if it's about the agaves.

Clarita, who is clutching her Big Box O'Saints nervously, greets Rod and complains of anxiety. Rod tells her to breathe deeply and she'll be fine. Gavi practically has to shove her down the sidewalk.

Gavi says it seems like Rod is trying to get rid of her. At first he gives her a line about not wanting to make problems for her at her new job. Gavi reminds him of their pact to stay together through good and bad. She'll stick with him no matter what, and to hell with her job. She'll help him out.

But he insists that he will solve it alone. She says she can tell he's hiding something and lying to her. He says he really wants her to go and refuses to tell her anything more. She asks if he wants nothing more to do with her; he says no he doesn't - not for now. He's still the same immature idiot she's been with for the last four years. He's not ready for the responsibility. "But you told me a thousand times yesterday that you loved me." "That was yesterday!"

Gavi tells her mom to call for a taxi. Rod still wants to take them to the airport; I don't know why Gavi doesn't punch him.

She wonders where this is coming from. Was it the psychologist? He says no, he just realized that he made a mistake, and he doesn't love her enough to marry her.

"So you were just fooling around with me?" She hits him, calls him a liar, etc. He is holding her as she screams at him. She tells him he's changed; he denies it and says he's the same jerk. He kisses her, but she pulls away and screams that she hates him. She rips his necklace off, then her own and throws them both at him. (The fact that he hadn't taken his off yet disproves most of what he's tried to tell her today.)

Gavi curses the moment they met and leaves with her mother, who is too nervous to understand what's happening. Rodrigo picks up the necklaces and crushes them in his hand as the womens' taxi speeds away.

Isa comes out of the bathroom. Someone with remarkable knuckles and patience is still knocking. It's the sitter, who hasn't seen Frankie. She takes the baby.

Isa tells herself she's not going to sit around in the apartment all day. She goes to the closet for some clothes, and it takes a few moments for her to wrap her mind around what she's seeing. Or not seeing.

She calls the front desk and asks if he left a message for her. Yes, he did! We don't get to hear what it was, but from the way the phone slips out of her hands (another one bites the dust) we can guess.

"Francisco abandoned me!"

Back in Montalveña, Sofie gets the bad news about Rodrigo from Dani. She's impactada. They worry about what will happen if their grandmother finds out about this.

At the public ministry, Rod calmly answers yes to all of the charges (did it behind Aaron's back, knew it was illegal and did it on purpose, and sold ten times as much product as he actually exported). Then he gets fidgety when he claims that he wanted the money to finance a personal venture. The judge gives him a funny look. Nestor wrings his hands.

Gavi and her mother are at the airport. Gavi is grumpily ordering her mom, who is still lugging the box of santitos, to hurry. Clarita is still confused by the change in plans and wants Gavi to call Rodrigo. Gavi says she has nothing to say to him. Clarita says she should give him a chance to explain. Gavi says that he already told her all he had to say - he screamed it in her face.

There are no more next-episode previews, so I leave you with this quote from G. K. Chesterton:

"I caught him, with an unseen hook and an invisible line which is long enough to let him wander to the ends of the world, and still to bring him back with a twitch upon the thread." from The Innocence of Father Brown

Destilando 11/19/07 "So Close and Yet So Far"

Didn’t record this so feel free to add anything.

A big welcome back to the epic Destilando. You have been missed.

Well one mystery was finally solved this evening. For those of you who have wondered about that big clog in Aaron’s throat that has plagued him for these past nine months, well he finally coughed it up. Yes it was Gavi & Rod. Aaron coughed them up and spit them out into the laps of the authorities. Aaron canonized Gavi and Rod as the Patron Saints of Illegal & Irregular Shipments.

Meanwhile Gavi & Rod arrive back at Clarita’s apartment. Clarita acts all surprised and standoffish. “Are you going to live in SIN?” For clarification readers, please note this is the english word SIN, meaning having great fun, not the Spanish word SIN meaning without. Nah Ma, once Rod gets his divorce & annulment from the Church, we are gonna do it up like an Ugly Girl would in Monterrey, if the whole town paid for the Wedding, threw in a big parade and a lot of plot dragging pointless storylines. Sorry readers I have my stories crossed. Anyway our teen twosome, plan to have an awesome life. Rod wants Ma & Gavi to head on over to Pilar’s for the evening, for a big announcement. Methinks Rod is planning to formally ask for Gavi’s hand. Clarita is muy thrilled.

Meanwhile for dramatic effect we are shown scenes of True Love, then scenes of Aaron betraying Gavi & Rod. Aaron explains he was in Miami during the period in question. He shows his passport to “Joselina’sNotDaddy from Mundo” sorry I don’t know the guy’s name. Anyway if this was Broadway, he’d of sung, he was in America and named his Amantes.

a little bit of Sandra in the sun
a little bit of Mary all night long
a little bit of Jessica here I am
a little bit of you makes me you're man

Aaron literally implicates Rod and Gavi in everything from the kidnapping of the Lindbergh Baby to missing votes in Florida back in 2000. Aaron is so evil; Gavi and Rod weren’t even doing the Horizontal Bop back then. The guy takes Aaron’s passport, the American translation would be “Don’t leave town”. Aaron and his toady lawyer leave. A summons is ordered for Rod & Gavi.

Rod calls home to get the dinner set up. Dani answers and says get home, Now. Rod tells Gavi and Clarita he will return for them later.

Rod arrives back at Pilar’s with a plastic bag. The family fortune isn’t even officially lost and already he is living like a bagman. Seriously was that spur of the moment luggage? Dani proceeds to tell Rod that Frankie sold the sulfate and the crops are dying. Videgaray arrives. Dani gets Pilar out of the room. Videgaray is like, calm down, the dying crops are actually the good news. Tequila has been suspended due to irregularities and by the by, you and MariAnna have been implicated. The face of muy impactedness.

Commercial break…where we get to see Rulli & Susan Gonzales crying. I have a sneaking suspicion that Susan is going to be crying each and every episode. Well, there goes my plan to give up Tequila.

Rod is on the phone with James. James tells him the Agave is infested, they are trying to save what they can. James takes the blame for not keeping a better eye on Frankie. Sofie snatches the phone away (while doing a fine imitation of Ellie May Clampett), she shrieks to the winds that it is all her fault, she takes full responsibility. She has brought this down on the family, James tried to keep an eye on Frankie, but alas she let Frankie run wild. Now Sofie as long as you are confessing, take the blame for those bad fashion choices.

Now let’s flip over to Frankie the Grifter. He is on the cell phone with Isa, earlier he told her he was going for a salary of $20,000 per month (I think that is dollars, cause pesos would only be $2,000 monthly and he spends more than that on loofahs in a month). He is telling her that things are going fine and ooooppps gotta go here comes his contact. His contact of course is the equally jaded and scheming Priscella. He orders a bottle of champagne (the best) from Nelson, the waiter. Question viewers, is Nelson Celso from LFMB?

Isa takes BigHeadNotRod’sBaby for a walk in his stroller. In the hall, Jose (Frankie’s mom), asks if Isa needs more towels. Jose sees the baby and makes over him. Jose thinks to herself, that BigHeadKid would be about the same age as Frankies spawn. OMG, do you realize the odds? The odds are like 20 million to one that they would run into each other.

Videgaray fills Rod in that Rod and Gavi have been implicated, Videgaray recalls that there were rumors of Aaron’s odd money transactions at the time. Videgaray proceeds to tell Rod that MariAnne Franco and Rod signatures were all on the paperwork. Who could have done this betrayal? Ummmmm we travel into the past via RodVision, he remembers Onate..Lorenzo Onate..We get a flashback to Rod with longer, much more run your hands through hair, sorry I digress and Gavi & Rod making taboo “I wanna do ya on the desk eyes”, while signing anything and everything Onate slipped under their yearning fingertips.

Back at Gavi’s, Clarita asks if Gavi would like some Coffee. For the love of Gawd Clarita get with the program. Coffee was so four days ago, Gavi has moved on, from now on it is Tequila morning, noon and night. This conversation was about how happy Gavi is, mostly Clarita just talked in her baby voice about how Gavi went off into the skies three days ago and came back all happy.
Readers we must remember here that Clarita is quite the stranger to romantic love. Based on the information given in this saga, Clarita had one encounter, got pregnant, was abandoned and followed an old rich guy around for the next two to three decades. This may explain why she sounds like the ugly twelve-year-old sister listening to her Prom Queen sister telling tales. Or in other words Sofie talking to Isa and Minnie.
Gavi says Rod really misses NotRod’sBaby. Clarita brightens up at the words and wonders if Gavi could be pregnant from Rod.
I totally heard the torn screen door slam on the singlewide when those words were uttered.
Gavi is like “Oh Ma” & dismisses the idea.

Now then Rod and Videgaray stop by to visit Aaron, Fedra, Minnie, Patricio & the always-ineffectual Bruno. Aaron had been laughing and talking about what an idiot Rod is while sucking down a drink.
-My husband says, Aaron is so coked up that he has to drink to be able to even sit still-
Bruno looks uncomfortable and Patrick looks a bit green at the news, of Aaron’s implication. When Aaron sees Rod, he is like welcome back LOSER. He calls Rod an imbecile and proceeds to gloat and bait Rod. Then he says Gavi is going to jail. Rod can take no more and punches Aaron squarely in the mouth. You Go Rod. Aaron’s mouth bleeds, I laugh. Harsh words are exchanged. Aaron blames Rod for the failed Agave. Rod says if he hadn’t had to babysit the company, Rod would have been on the ranch. Aaron says MariAnne stole the money and Rod says of course that Aaron is the culprit. Bruno tries to get them to calm down. You can see Rod’s words have an impact on Bruno. Rod tells Aaron if he does anything to Gavi, Rod will kill him. Time for mucho muy impacted looks. Rod storms out and Bruno calls him back, but Rod continues Videgaray says family time is over, it is time for the lawyers.

Aaron gloats, Bruno laments over the son of his brother and chastises Aaron for gloating and taunting Rod. Fedra (her relationship with Aaron totally creeps me out, Fedra just needs Aaron to slay Bruno (in the modern sense another heart attack would suffice and she’d be all Jocasta on Oedipus Aaron’s Ass)), anyhow she chides Bruno for always taking Rod’s side over Aaron.

Another moment in the lives of Clarita & Gavi, while going through Clarita’s suitcase, Gavi discovers Clarita has stowed kitchen objects. Like a rolling pin (I’m not sure if that is the word, I’m a buy it in a box person myself), and other things, plus the big mortar thing. The mortar thing is really heavy it is for grinding things up in and making salsa and stuff like that. We have one, but I say that is why God made blenders so mine does not get used. Yes Clarita plans to sneak this into Merry Ole England. Gavi teases her. Clarita talks like a six year old.

Out in the plague infested netherlands Sofie (sporting one of her trademark Rancho Denim skirts) and her sidekick James are kind of making an informal confession to the good Padre. At first the Padre mistakes Sofie for an Amish girl and thinks he may have a convert. He soon realizes it is one of the erring Montalvo’s and he must listen to yet another tale of rich, but stupid decisions. Oh Sofie laments, her bad choices have led to family ruin, she is not only responsible for the downfall of her family and it’s loss of fortune, but the losses of the poor folk who work there. I know Sofie feels really, really bad for this as she was so kind to them and had concern for their poor families. The Padre speaks kindly to them and gives them generic religious words of encouragement. James then seizes the opportunity inquire after a dispensation to allow Sofie and James to have passionless sex, while he is still married to the crazy girl and not married to Sofie. The Padre in the spirit of healing grants this. Okay Okay I made that part up.

Frankie and Priscella talk about going somewhere (we see a scene of an uber big hawt tub surrounding a house on a cliff), I am not sure what is going on..other than they are conning each other and will no doubt be disappointed when they realize they are both penniless. Priscella takes off for the bathroom and Frankie gives another series of lies to Isa on the phone. Isa is realizing that Frankie is worthless and she must by this time must have serious leg cramps from trying to kick herself in the ass for not choosing the “Turkey Baster” rather that Frankie.

Clara and Gavi are dressed up and ready to roll waiting for Rod to come and get them. Gavi is watching out the window as anvils are dropping right outside. Clarita questions why Gavi is so nervous. Gavi says she isn’t. Nothing can go wrong. At long last love. We here the shriek as a passerby dies from an anvil to the head.

Rod arrives at home with Videgaray. He calls Gavi and tells her he has been busy with Videgaray and dinner with the family is cancelled. He will come by and pick them up and the three of them will go to dinner. Gavi plays this news off to Clarita, she acts unconcerned. Clarita is clutching two religious statues.

Rod and Videgaray discuss the dilemma, Videgaray tells Rod that neither Rod nor Gavi can leave the country with this summons. Likely they maybe held after the summons. Rod can’t screw Gavi over again. He decides he will cop to the whole thing and say Gavi was innocent. That way Gavi can go to London and continue her career.

Stay tuned: No previews as we are in the final episodes.

So I guess Gavi really will live in SIN only the Spanish version without.

Chat rooms for Destilando Amor

Yesterday I created a chat room for the Destilando recappers. Just now I created chat rooms for viewers, too. Although I had only intended for them to be used during the gran finale, there's no reason people can't start using them now.

However, before anyone goes to check them out, I want to give some instructions, because frankly the chat room interface is not newbie-friendly.
  1. When you first go there, you'll see a little sign-on window. If you're not already a regular Meebo user with a Meebo login, then IGNORE THIS WINDOW. You don't need to create a login/signin/signon to use the Meebo chat rooms. In fact, I don't even recommend doing so. Just wait for the chat room window to open. It might take a minute.

  2. To silence the annoying stuff that's playing in the media window to the right, double-click the narrow divider between the text window and the media window.

  3. Now type "hello" or something equally pithy and hit Enter. You will be prompted to enter a name. This will be the name that appears on the screen next to your comments. Go ahead and enter your name.
Tips:
  • To make all the text in the window bigger, do a Ctrl-Plus sign. To make it smaller, do a Ctrl-Minus sign. This works in Internet Explorer and Firefox. (Sorry Mac people - I'm not sure how you do this in Safari - it would be some type of zoom control.)
  • Use the pulldowns above the text entry box to change your font, text size, style, and color, and to add smileys. Note that the text format controls (bold, color, etc.) affect all of your text, not just selected words. In other words, if you hit the big B it will make your entire comment appear in bold. It's not like in a word processor when you're highlighting a word and applying bold to just that word. (If the above makes no sense to you, don't worry about it.)
  • Meebo seems to be optimized for Firefox (as opposed to Internet Explorer or Safari). This means that you might have some difficulties with the text controls.
  • Meebo censors chat room profanity. There's no way for the chat room owner (me) to control this. It used to be really bad; if you typed "it's hitting me now" it would show up as "it'*****ting me now" which was both hilarious and vexing. It's slightly better now, but it still doesn't let you say "skank" which I consider pretty mild in the universe of unkind words. The thing is, if you enter some profanity you won't see that it was censored, but everyone else will. That is also pretty vexing.
These tips ought to make the chat rooms much easier to use.

To avoid spoiler conflicts, I created one chat room for the East & Central viewers (http://www.meebo.com/room/destilando_fin_east), and another for the West viewers (http://www.meebo.com/room/destilando_fin_west).

I'm a little confused as to how TV scheduling works in Mountain time. Do you guys watch at the same time as the east coast, the west coast, or do you have your own feed? If you need a separate chat room, I'll be happy to create one.

Destilando Amor - Nov. 15, 2007 while Rod and Gavi are away, all heck breaks loose at Montalvo corp.

EPISODE - Nov. 15, 2007:
* Rod teases Gavi for being late, Gavi sweetly bats her eyelashes and apologizes. They kiss in the palaba cafe.

* Dani hangs up the phone - she has a serious and sad look on her face. Elvis walks Grammy out of the room. Dani tells Nestor how worried she is about Pilar's health. Bruno calls Dani about where Rod is, she tells him that Rod has reunited with Gavi - they are together again. After she hangs up, she asks Nestor why Bruno is looking for Rod. Nestor says it's a grave problem and they could lose the farm.

* Bruno tells Fedra, Aaron and Minnie that Rod and Gavi are back together again.

* Rod and Gavi are together having a private lunch on their little rowboat on the lake. (looks more like a table and chairs on a canoe to me)

* Patricio and Fedra have an argument in the office about the fraudulent signed documents - she tells him that they are to blame it all on Gavi.

* Rod and Gavi are on their little rowboat in the middle of the lake near the waterfall. They toast their love with some tequila. They kiss.

* James, Roman and Crispin discuss a plan to save the agave crops and the farm. Sofia runs in with some valuable information she just received. Roman and Crispin leave to start their end of the plan. James and Sofia commisserate their losses due to the incompetency of Pancho de la Vega. James is depressed - Sofia is positive and says they will work hard together to overcome this and save Montalveno.

* Pancho meets with Priscilla (Laura Flores) in a restaurant. He works hard at sweet talking her. (not sure if she's buying it or not - she has a definite poker face right now). Lunch comes. Priscilla hands Pancho her card and leaves. He's proud of his new catch. As she leaves with the attendant, he hands her the phone. She calls Sharon to get her to call for a chauffeur for her - she so hates to take taxis. {thanks jardinera for the correction on the name}

* Jose is talking with Clarita about her conversation with Sofia. No sign of Pancho, only word about Rod.

* Isa mutters to her mirror.

* Jose and Clara continue talking. Clara talks Jose into staying at the apartment with her. Jose asks where Mariana is. Clara drops a few hints and makes Jose guess. Jose has no clue - and isn't very good with guessing games. Clara has to come out and say in San Luis Potosi with Rod! They celebrate.

* At night, Rod and Gavi are in the middle of a circle of tiki torches. She says it's perfect (so romantic). Rod says not just yet. He snaps his fingers and three mariachi come over to softly serenade them to the song "Por Amarte".

*** PASION PROMO #1 for tonight - "live the story that will enchant and steal your heart night after night - Pasion ... se acerca" - video of Ricardo, Santiago, Mario, and Camila. ***

* Isa asks Pancho where they are going to live - Japan or somewhere in Mexico. Pancho is shocked by the suggestion of leaving right now. Isa and Pancho argue over Pancho's new job and lady boss. He's confident. She's a bit jealous and upset. He leaves.

* In their romantic love tent, with rose petals spread all over the bed, Rod and Gavi make love.

* At the corporate offices, Nestor and Bruno have a heated discussion about who is to blame for the fraudulent exports. Nestor accuses Aaron and Larry the Snake - it would be just like them to do this. Bruno is so aghast that he continues to hold onto the thought that Gavi is at fault. Nestor asks him if he has any proof to substantiate blaming Gavi for this. Bruno doesn't have any and sits down in silence. Nestor then tells Bruno that Dani knows about this, but they haven't told Pilar anything. Aaron calls in. Bruno is angry that Aaron decided to travel to Miami instead of meeting at the office in Mexico. They argue. Aaron hangs up and tosses the phone on the table. He and Larry the snake laugh over their success. Bruno and Nestor are frustrated and upset over the diseased fields and damage it will have to the crops and the corporation's products.

*** PASION PROMO #2 -- cast list, starting with Fernando, and video clips ***

* At the Cascade de Tumul, Rod and Gavi are standing on the overlook over the waterfalls. They kiss.

* Video of the agave fields at sunset, twilight, dusk.

* Sofia, James, Roman, and fieldworkers are in the fields at night throwing grains of stuff on the plants to try to save the crops. Sofia stops, looks up to the sky and cries to her father for forgiveness. James sees her drop to her knees and wonders what's wrong. Sofia cries her guilt to him - over everything she's done to her brother and the family business - she thinks this is her penace for it. This time, it's James who has to give Sofia positive advice and support. They get back to saving the crops; with cheers and shouts of encouragement.

* Gavi and Rod in their romantic bed. Rod is half asleep. Gavi tries to wake him up to leave the bed. He doesn't want to, kisses her and pulls her back under the covers.

* Patricio and Lluvia are alone together discussing the fraudulent exports. Lluvia is scared that she will be implicated in the scandal also. Patricio has to work to calm her fears.

* Rod and Gavi together in the wooded area talking. They discuss where to have their wedding - they decide to have it in Mexico, with family, friends, and in agave fields.

* Crispin, James, Sofia and Roman are eating their breakfast in earnest after a hard night's work. James and Sofia wonder if they did enough. Ofelia gives them her positive prayers. SJ speaks up with her opinions about family. Ofelia asks how does she know. SJ says she is pregnant with her own child. Ofelia and Roman gives their opinions about parenthood.

* Meanwhile back in Mexico City, Clara is talking with Hilario. She is trying her best to convince Hilario to visit SJ. He hates the idea - and won't get together with that woman to raise someone else's child. She asks if he's sure about that. He looks stunned. She says he has to go, if only to find out the truth about the paternity. Hilario agrees to go to Montalveno and convince SJ to agree to a paternity test on the baby.

* Aaron finally arrives at the corporate offices and storms into his father's office. Aaron is still hot and determined to shout his accusations of fraud on Rod and Gavi. Bruno tells him that the authorities are now involved. Aaron continues with his ranting about Rod and Gavi being to blame for all this. Patricio and Bruno want to see some proof from Aaron to back up his accusations. Aaron starts to shout his proof in detail to back up his statements. Bruno and Patricio are stunned.

*** PASION PROMO #3 -- the storybook fairy of Pasion ... se acerca (the video showed a kiss between Ricardo and Camila) ***

* Aaron storms out of the office and down the hallway. Patricio stops him and starts to scold him about accusing his own cousin of fraud. Aaron says it may be hard to hear, but he is saving himself now and advises Patricio to do the same. Patricio asks about Lluvia being implicated. Aaron says that he is only interested in blaming the ultimate one responsible -- ROD!

* Pancho is on the phone with Priscilla, making a date to meet (the dirty two-timing dog). Pancho switches his tone to a more work-related professional one when Isa walks into the room with Ricky. Isa is suspicious. He tells her about his work-related dinner meeting. Isa says great, after she feeds Ricky, she will go with him. Pancho denies the request. She says fine, she will stay there, but tomorrow they will be moving. Pancho is shocked by the idea, and sweet talks her into doing exactly what he decides.

* Aaron meets with the authorities in a transcribed official session. Aaron lays out all the proof he has on the fraud and how it implicates Rod and Gavi. Aaron gives his statement about all the documents.

ADVANCE: Pancho is playing the enchanting schmuck; Gavi is enchanted to be with Rod again; Rod slugs Aaron in front of his aunt and uncle - motive, Aaron wants to put him in jail.

Destilando 11/14, in which we are reminded: "Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug."

  • In the Presidential Suite the meter's running, the pesos are dwindling at an alarming rate; Frankie is spending what remains of Isa's stash in bars, while telling her he is taking business meetings.

Isa moans, "Everything is turning out rotten, my life is a castle of diapers and misery." She's still getting the pro forma "Ma cherie," but behind her back Francisco tells us, "She's become very tiresome, I'm losing my patience here."

Isa coos to li'l Ricky: "If Rod really loves you, he won't let you starve - and your Real daddy will get work, we'll have a nice big house and all three of us will be happy." [Saying it don't make it so, sister. --Ed.]

A slice of life at the Presidential Suite: Frankie is asleep, it's past noon, Isa wakes him by pulling off his black silk sleep mask and says his meeting with the VIP must have been an invention; he denies it. She says she doesn't believe him and leaves.

He calls the front desk: "There's some problem with our phone, I've been expecting important calls but it doesn't ring, will you try it for me?" In a moment the phone rings, Isa rushes into the room, and Frankie invents a conversation with the VIP, Milton Fontanet. "Oh, we should take a meeting? Where and when? OK, you know how punctual I am."

Then: "Isa, he and I are meeting at La Normandie, you know how expensive it is, I need more money." "I gave you so much yesterday!" "My dear, it's an investment." "OK, li'l Rickie and I will come with you." "Oh, no, I told you yesterday, big important business meetings are no place for a wife and child, and he might cry. You wait here. Please prepare my blue suit and the matching shirt."

  • Av* is setting the wheels of justice in motion. Convinced by Pammie's father's documents that the Montalvo Corporation has been making illegal exports, he suspends their certificate: they can't produce any more tequila. Since Aaron and Rod are both absent, the anvil is being applied directly to Bruno's head.

Somewhere, Aaron and Oñate are celebrating a contract to supply turquoise tequila to a carnival in Nubatu, no, make that Lubatu; back home Bruno is saying no puede ser! more often than Clarita says como asi! and he's heading for another heart attack.

Bruno thinks there must be a mistake, Av* says there's no mistake and scolds: "You should have paid more attention to what was going on around there."

Videgaray comes in. He admits he's been hearing rumors about Aaron and dastardly deeds. Bruno's heard the rumors too but at least is pretending not to believe them. They realize if Aaron has transferred his own, private, money to the Corporation it, too, may be lost (since the accounts are frozen).

Aaron calls. He denies all. Patricio arrives, he's shocked, simply shocked: "I'm as surprised as Aaron" is his careful contribution. He's charged with studying the documents. He gives up not only Rod and Mariana Franco as the people who signed the illegal shipments, he gives up his own girlfriend Lluvia!!! He looks like there is a NEST of cockroaches inside his mouth as he betrays these people he knows to be innocent.

Minerva and Fedra, indignant that Aaron has fallen under suspicion of fraud, jump all over the idea that Mariana Franco is to blame for this mess.

  • On the rural front, Mr. James is also doing the no puede ser! thing. There are three kinds of agave crud going on, and the third fungus is fatal. He's told he must burn all the six-year old agaves and the organic ones are a total loss, too, because there is no organic remedy for these cruds.

"Where's Basilio?" James shrieks. "Well, he's gone -- his, uh, wife is, uh, indisposed, but really - you're barking up the wrong tree." James figures out instantly: it's not Basilio's fault! Francisco must have sold the copper sulfite instead of putting it on the agaves!

Not wanting to watch the way James' horrible moustache is quivering during his queasy fit, one sorry batch of extras slinks out stage right. Instantly a second batch of extras, escorted by Roman, enter stage left. They are? The bank's goons. Oh dear.

James calls Sophie at Pilar's place and shouts the whole story to her: "We have to burn the agave because Frankie stole the chemical, the bankers' dogs are here, there won't be any loan! It's my fault, I should never have trusted him!"

Sofia sobs and tells him she'll be there on the next flight, they can figure it out together. Dani comes in and gets the Cliff Notes version (i.e. "We'll lose the hacienda!"). The sisters are hugging desperately when Elvis enters and says the sisters make a pretty picture. He has just noticed they're crying when Pilar enters asking, "who's going to the airport? what's all this?"

Pilar forces the truth out of Dani and almost faints when she hears how bad the situation is. She is comforted by sweet Elvis. They agree Rod must hear what's going on, but they can't reach him. They also need to talk to Videgaray - but he's busy with Bruno.

  • Gaviota and Rodrigo, in their elysian hideaway, are blissfully unaware of the disasters at home. They do a lot of kissin' and huggin' and have sex, we presume, for the third time in four years. Enjoy yourselves while you can, I say.

Rod is worried about going to London and closing his Mexico offices, the difficulty of running the hacienda from across the ocean, etc. and he's also worrying for little Ricky, trying to figure out a way to keep him securely in Zwieback and diapers without Francisco filching the money for his aventurillas...

At least he's not worried about the hacienda - he tells Gaviota there are some minor problems with the agave crop but James is handling them (see above). The bank has agreed to give him the loan with the current crop as collateral - the money is guaranteed subject to their inspection (see above). Gaviota muses, "I should have kept Las Mirasoles, we could have sold the place to get you out of debt. But I really wanted to stick it to Aaron -- and you were with that psychologist ... oh well, it will benefit a lot of worthy people..."

"Heh, it will give Aaron a heart attack to find out we're back together." "Do you think the new baby will change him?" "Only death will change him."

Gaviota wants to go back to the city early, Rod says no. The many things which must be worked out can wait a bit longer.

They find a lovely waterfall and Rod says "This would be the perfect place to get married." **As a wedding musician I instantly objected: It's so noisy! Not a word will be heard! The wedding musicians will be wasting their lovely music! We played a wedding last year in a park right next to a highway; the preacher's mouth opened and closed pointlessly as cars whizzed by.**

Oh, it's a private ceremony for two. Rod holds out the shell necklace and makes Gaviota swear to love, obey, and respect him blindly and docilely, and be very faithful in mind, deeds, and thoughts. "Now say, 'If I don't, may Tlascualtitli curse me.' " He explains Tlas* is goddess of the earth and eats women who don't keep their promises. Gav agrees to all the conditions, so it's "Good girl, you get your necklace."

He's about to just put his necklace around his own neck but she stops him and makes him promise to love and dote upon her 24 hours a day, not to be jealous or make scandals in the street, not to be proud ("or a clown," he adds). "Now say, 'If I don't may I be trampled by elephants and be cursed by the goddess Gaviota.' " She hasn't decided what the curse will be, yet, but it will be worse than his, she promises.

Eventually there's a minor glitch: Rod finds his precious trophy in Gav's purse and is surprised to hear it was a regift from Erika. There ensues a stupid conversation about whether (a) Gav kissed Blandie ("He kissed me, ok on the mouth, but I didn't kiss back, and then I set him straight and he transferred to Madrid"); (b) Rod kissed Dr. Erika ("Yes, but it was the night Isa left me and nothing happened...").

Gav scratches the scab: "Was the kiss passionate, did she kiss you or did you kiss her?" His answers to both questions being wrong, she runs off to the bar and sucks down booze... Rod comes and finds her (gee, I wonder how he figured out where she was?). Sweet and calm, he gently reproaches her: "You shouldn't have done that, you promised to be with me 24 hours a day." She apologizes, they kiss and make up.

Tomorrow: kneeling among the agaves Sofia screams to the sky: "Forgive me, daddy, for not realizing in time!"; Aaron outlines what a disastrous mess they're in and blames it all on Rod; Rod and Gav have at least a few more minutes of happiness.

Destilando Tues Nov 13....danger in paradise

At the airport, Gaviota insists on finding out what happened with the Psychologist. She tells Rod that the doctora is sure he can be with someone else. 'why did she say that??!! Tell me! Di me!!" He says it's a theory, she gets upset and insists that he tell her what kind of 'theory' that was. He tells her he's only in love with her and he's immensely happy about her. He clarifies that he'll love her until death. Gavi's eyes start getting dreamy as he insists: "so tell me, will you come with me or not??!!". He pretends to leave, she starts getting worried (what is it with this push and pull game!!? Geez), but then he turns around he carries her to the security belt. She pleads he let her go " I..I...I don't have any clothing to wear!!". They start sharing their issues with the security guy who's probably wondering why he even came to work today. The security guy asks Gav if she has any will power. She clarifies that she lost her will power 4 years ago.

At the hacienda, Sofie receives a vist from Dona Jose and finds out that Frankie lied about his real parents. Dona Jose tearfully explains that she's a servant and Frankie has always been ashamed of her. She talks about how Maximiliano de la Vega kicked her out of the house when he found out she's pregnant...like father like son....she admits he's shameless and cannot go around the world hurting people. She feels it was her obligation to let Sofie know so he stops hurting her and her family. Sofie gives Dona J her ring and asks her to give it to Frankie when she sees him. I think Dona J should pocket it and trade it in for some well deserved money, but that's just me.

At Le Suite, Frankie leaves an unhappy Isa with her baby to go 'look for a job'..she reluctantly takes some money from the safe for him....she actually asks him if it's enough...I'd think that by now she'd know better, but anyhoo... he say yes of course...so she gives him 2000 more pesos.

In some town...Rod and Gav go clothing shopping... as usual, she wants to pay, he says no, she says yes...yada yada. He wins, and they kiss. Rod buys some things for him too; he gets 2 identical necklaces made from seashells.

At home, Clarita is talking on the phone with someone talking about Gavi: "como asi!! she said she'd come pick me up to go shopping!"

In San Luis Potosi, Rod and Gavi arrive at this beautiful cabin by a lake. G: I can't believe we're here..this is like a dream!! R: It's a dream...I hope it doesn't turn into a nightmare...I don't want to wake up and not find you next to me! .G: i'll awlays be there!

At Jalisco, Sanwanna runs into the guy...I forgot his name...he has the bags under his eyes and gap between his front teeth. Guy with bays: so you're back from seeing Hilario? S: yes, and guess what...he's become a snob! She lets him know that she's pregnant and Hilario dumped her after he found out. S: but that's OK, i won't be the first or the last woman who's got a baby without a dad!

At home, Clarita is talking to Hilario about Gavi's issues....this time he's not asking for tequila. C: they want to send Gavi to Londres, Capital of Inglaterra...! On Monday we leave...come visit us!! H: so....if the Patron was with that Psicologa, does that mean he's no longer with his Isa? Claritat tells him the gossip; we get a closeup of Hilario with some expression....I'm not sure if he's feeling guilty or if he's planning on some horizontal mambo with the love of his life.

For a sec, we see Frankie in the restaurant having a drink.

Back to Hillie...he tells Clarita how he remembers when Rod and Isa announced their baby news. H:Rod looked so happy! C: I don't even now why he married her if he didn't love her!!

At the cabin, Rod and Gavi find out they have no phone connection. He promises they will talk to Clarita from a restaurant. She asks him if she's still the love of his life. They kiss passionately; he reminds her that last time he was with a woman it was 2 years ago ...a lady that worked at the Montalvo corp....and it was a beautiful experience! He was also with a woman 4 years ago...she was beautiful...first time they made love it was under a tree in the agave fields..."it was amazing and I couldn't get my mind of her since then....now I'm in love with an eexecutive f the CRT!! How funny huh?? In conclusion, you were, are, and will always be the only person I can love." They kiss, then Kiss some more. He tells her he loves her, then abruptly breaks away. She looks worried. He tells her he's scared of her leaving him; she'lll have to stay with him forever. R: take it the way you want...like a threat, or even like a marriage proposal..." Caviota, dreamy eyed: matrimonio???" They hug and kiss as we hear the song play before the commercials..."pooooooor amaaarteeeeeeeeeeeeee..."

The commercials announce the upcoming Pasion... a gorgeous brad-pitt-in-legends-of-the-fall looking Sebastian Rully is crying about Camila.... ah, can't wait can't wait!

Back at the cabin, Gavi and Rod kiss....G: you think I was going to accept coming here with you ad then leaving you? No way! Rod, you made my eyes dry from crying so much. Now you're in deep trouble, cuz you won't be able to get rid of me. You'll have to be with me day and nigh until God grants us life. Do you think you'll be able to do that? R: Gaviota you are my life!! Song starts playing..his shirt is off, he's laying her down on the sofa as they kiss...then we get a closeup of their kiss....they look into each others eyes....I guess we're supposed to guess what's happening there. :-O

Next scene is at the restaurant in Mexico.....Franks is asking for another cup of champagne.; the waiter tells him his friend canceled the card. Frankie is offended, they waiter says 'no worries sir, we'll put it on the cuenta Walking in come set of high heels...we see a closeup of her...she looks at him and glances away..he keeps looking with a face suggesting he caught his next prey....she looks away and sits down. He asks the waiter who she is...the waiter says "her name is Priscilla and she usually comes to drink tea, though sometimes she comes with a friend." Frankie slowing pronounces her name as he glances gleefully at her, with $$ signs in his eyes...."Priscilla..."

Isa calls her parents at the Bahamas asking for money...her mom answers...Isa desperately wants to talk to her dad. Her mom, from their mansion in the Bahamas: "Isa, understand we're going though a hard time!!" She is able to get her husband on the phone after she insisting he talk to his only daughter. Isa is angry and desperate, and begs him that he pay. He says he has no money and it's Frankie's responsibility anyway. She ran off with that jerk, so now she better get him to move his arse. I: well, Frankie's looking for a job dad...ha! In your face! Isa's dad goes for his next best excuse "well, I'm very, very disappointed with you! Ergh, how could you have lied to all of us! Find a way out of your own problems...you stopped being my princesa a long time ago...!!". Isa is left yelling "Papa!! Papaaa!!!" Funny that's he's not disappointed in is wife for being his daughter's confidant... well, who said life's fair.

At the restaurant, Frankie goes towards Priscilla reminding himself "hopefully you did't foget the technique". He approaches her seductively...tells her he knows her from somewhere...uh, I think we have a lot on common...I'm..Bond, James bond..aka...De la Vega, Frankie Slimey De la Vega Ichisomething...to your service mademoiselle. I know your uncle from the Club....he was close friends with my dad. P: oh, so our families are related. F: no, not really...cuz my dad traveled a lot so I grew up in many different countries...I'm what they call....ehe ehe...a citizen of the world. So anyway, what happened to don Salomon? Priscilla falls like a prey to his glam, and they decide to share a drink.

At the hacienda, Sofie and granny talk about Frankie's lies. All Granny can say is: "so, that means his mother doesn't grow Bonsai plants??". Sofie can't wait until they divorce...Dani reminds them that the marriage is not valid since that wasn't his real name anyway. Granny finds that to be one good thing among all the bad ones...

From the restaurant in San Luis Potosi, Rod calls Clarita. R: I kidnapped your daughter but don't worry, I'll bring her back! I promise I will do all can to win your love back. C:como asi!! you know I love you, but please don't make my Gaviota suffer!! Gavi takes the phone: Clarita, everything happened very fast! No, I'm not crazy ma! C: Hija, r u sure of what u'r doiong? G: no worries ma, I know what I'm doing. C: so tell me darn it, are we leaving or stayin!!! You promised Avellaneda you'd go to Londres Capital de Inglaterra. G: ma, no worries I'll call you later and let you know about that. C: Gaviota, I'm so happy that you're happy!! I hope the Virgencita protects you! Rod: is she upset? Gavi says no, and she starts explaining how she promised Avellaneda she'd go to London. Gavi suggests she stay for Rod. Rod asks her how important that trip is for her. Gavi says it means a lot, she will be representing Mexican tequila in the world. Rod: it would be the high of your career...make your dreams come true...OK, that's all I wanted to know...I'll go with you". Gav: you're crazy!! Rod: it's important for you and for me, it's the realization of your dreams!! G: what about he hacienda!! Rod: well, we'll work that out...! And he's not able to finish his sentence before she kisses him and they kiss passionately.

At the restaurant in Mexico... Priscilla needs to go. Frankie asks her if she can stay for inner with him...Priscilla says sorry, I gotta go. They both talk about their divorce...She talks about her ex husband...some very rich guy. And you? Well, i was married to socialite Sofia Montalvo... do you know her? P: No, but I did see Aron Montalvo and Pamela's scandal in the newspaper. Frankie: ah, Aron Aron..I told him not to do it but he's very impulsive. Priscila leaves... from the bathroom, she calls her friend Sharono..."Sharon, don't worry, I won't waste your money. I found a catch, he's Frankie De la Vega!! Please send me your driver..I gotta impress him...ya know...hehehe wink wink!". Oh yeah....it would be so nice to see her suck the blood out of him!!

At the hacienda, Dani anwers the phone "aaaaaah!! Cunada!!" to Sofie and Pillie "Gavi is with Rod!" they all scream at the phone, welcoming Gavi to the family. G: here, talk to Rod. Wait, I can't leave him alone...remember the psicologa cured him so I gotta be extra careful! Rod takes the phone, Dani: Rod, where can we call you if there's a problem? Rod: no worries, we'll be calling often. Are there any problems?? Dani, nervous:"nnno...nnooo...all is ...ooo...ook". They're finished talking, and Pillie mentions how she's so happy he's sharing his life with Mariana.

At the restaurant, Gavi and Rod slow dance to classic Mexican music...sounds like from the 50's. Suddenly there's a fan somewhere, cuz Gavi's hair starts flying back like a cover girl commercial. They hug, then we see them on a hammock as the music keeps playing... we see them holding a gardenia and kissing each other in slow motion....as the song keeps going ..."perfume de gardeeeniaaaa es tu amor " (your love is like gardenia perfume ")

Miami, Florida: Aron is talking to some guy about his plans for the future with Agave Turquesa

At her home, Pamela is upset at her dad for giving away the info about Aron's fraud. She wanted to do it slowly....her mom reminds her that the sooner they put that behind them the better. Pamela thinks that she would only feel alive when she sees Aron humiliated begging for mercy and forgiveness.

At the suite, Frankie arrives to meet a disappointed Isa who'd stayed up waiting for him. He gives her the details about his "meeting", and that eventually he'll find a position of his category. Isa is upset, she's desperate and doesn't want to wait any longer. Isa: for once in your life respond like a man!!! Frankie: I'm doing what I can!! Isa: please understand Frankie...all went wrong with me; my world shattered like a castle in the wind. Please hug me!!" Frankie hugs her as he thought bubbles: ur becoming so annoying and wasting my patience!

At San Luis Potosi: Gavi and Rod wake up on some white sheets in bed. He hugs her as she sleeps and whispers how happy she's made him. We know that won't last long because...

Tomorrow:
Gavi (with new hairdo) and Rod are swearing each other love forever by some waterfall...he wants to get married right there. Meanwhile... all sorts of problems are uncovered at the hacienda...
- James finds out about the sulfate problem and goes ballistic
- Bruno gets a visit from Avellaneda stating that CRT will suspend Montalvo tequila production
- Patricio accuses Rod and Gav of Aron's fraud
