Una Familia Con Suerte #247-248 Fri 5/11/12 Vice is in, Pancho is Arrested and Freddy is Dead to Me

The Refried:

Sebas and Pancho talk about the fraud.

Betto and Raymundo agree that Irachetta is responsible for the fraud.

Pablo meets with Rebe and Dona Rebe.

Fight with Pepe, Frida, and Moni.

Ana thinks about her talk with Kari, the loss of the baby, and Lupe comes to talk to Ana, and Ana tells her Kari lost the baby.

Frida is mad she is the rebound girl.

Pepe and Moni want to get en flagrante again.

The New:

Rebe confronts Pablo and wants to know if he is only with Dona Rebe for the money. He says no, just likes her alot. Rebe tells him he better never hurt Dona Rebe or he'll have to deal with her.

Adrian tells his daughter he wants to marry Ana as soon as possible. He thought bubbles to himself, before she changes her mind.

Ana is determined to marry Adrian too. Ana and Lupe are in a bridal shop looking at dresses. Lupe keeps asking Ana if she is sure she is making the right choice. Ana insists her and Freddy are thru and she is marrying Adrian, punto. Lupe just wants her to think about what she is doing.

Chacho goes to see the urologist, about why he isn't getting Sandrita pregnant. The urologist tells him he will have to do some testing. Chacho thinks he has to go thru the same procedure with the butt thing, but the doctor hands him a cup, and says he needs a sample of his sperm as soon as possible. Chacho goes to do that, and comes back tout suite not, and the doctor is asleep. Chacho wakes him up and the doctor is snapping on a glove and Chacho freaks out, but the doctor laughs and takes the sample and tells Chacho they will test and see what is what. Chacho is relieved.

There is a board meeting at the company, and everyone is banging the financial report. Raymund has called this meeting to inform Pancho they found the fraud. Pancho tells them the company's account was hacked and the money was deposited in an account in the Cayman Islands. Pancho says he will make sure this is fully investigated. Raymundo tells Pancho the authorities have to investigate this, and according to statues, Pancho has to step down, and there will be an interim prez. Guess who the new interim prez is, anyone? That's right, Vice. Everyone is mad, cause they just know Vice has something to do with this, and would rather have Pina take over. They will call Lic. Mendoza the hardest working lawyer at Avon.

Pepe and Moni, in their afterglow, are talking about where they are going to live, now. They are not keeping the apartment. Moni has some money from her Moms. She wants to be sure this is for realz this time and he won't go back to Frida. He asks for forgiveness and says he loves only her, and will wait for marriage.

Meanwhile, Frida is whining to Don Mattias about finding Pepe and Moni together, and Don Mattias says he is glad that Frida is not marrying Pepe, cause, are you ready for this Frida, Pepe doesn't love you. The rebound girl gets a crazed look in her eyes and says, no matter, I will wait for him, no matter how long it takes. (Note to Frida: Listen Chica never gonna happen. Get a new "Luke" ditch Pepe and find a cuter guy who truely loves you).

Vice's first action as prez is to fire Sebas. Pina stands right up for her man, and tells Vice she is rehiring Sebas right here and now. He has to work with Pina, cause Vice won't have him as head of Finance. Sebas and Pina just know that Vice is responsible for this mess.

Chela is conflicted about going to live in Monterrey. She misses Enzzo but will miss her family here too. Moni tells her they should be together.

Doc Oc is by himself and Lupe comes by and offers to make him something to eat. He doesn't want anything, but she makes him something anyway. He likes it and she tells him he will never be alone. The whole Lopez clan loves him and will never desert him.

Adrian comes to see Ana and tells her , hey lets get married tomorrow! Ana says whoa big fella. I want a special day with a church, a beautiful wedding dress, my Papancho walking me down the aisle. Adrian tells her he is worried she will get back with Freddy. She has to tell him yet again, I am marrying you and not Freddy.

Dona Rebe and Candy are talking about Vice and how much Candy loves him, when he calls her. He wants her to meet with him. Sappy as she is, she goes to meet him. She wants to know why her brother is in so much trouble? Look me in the eye and tell me you had nothing to do with it? He swears it is all Pancho who did this fraud. He tells her he loves her, can't be without her, blah blah, she is such a pushover she reconciles with Vice! (Note to Candy: run as fast as you can girl, and never look back!).

Pancho and Rebe are in bed, and just about to get en flagrante, when Candy just waltzes right in, no knock mind you, and tells them she has gone back to Vice.

Pina, Sebas and Freddy have a little meeting and Pina asks him if Vice could have caused this mess. Freddy tries not to let anything out, he thought bubbles about the request Vice made of him to find him a hacker. He tells Pina and Sebas they can't go accusing his Paps without proof. He says this several times. This makes Pina suspicious and she tells Sebas, once Freddy has left, that Freddy knows something.

Coincendentially, Freddy is meeting with Vice.Freddy wants to know if Vice found a hacker and did this to Pancho? Vice convinces Freddy he didn't do anything and this is all Pancho's fault. Freddy has a hard time believing Vice. Vice offers Freddy the Financial Director position. He tells Paps that he was a communications major, but Vice tells him he is qualified for the job. Freddy thinks about the position. Freddy decides to take the job. Sebas comes by for his things from his old office and sees Freddy there. Freddy tells him he is the new director of Finances. He tells Freddy if you ever need help just let me know. (Note to Freddy: you are offically on my dead to me list. Ya know your Paps did this, jus' sayin' it's time to man up and tell someone.)

Chela and Enzzo talk by phone, and she tells him she is conflicted about moving to Monterrey. Enzzo says he wants his family with him, punto. He gives her an ultimatum. She is very upset.

Ana is going to order that wedding dress. Lupe is with her and asks her again whether she is making the right decision. Ana again tells her, she is marrying Adrian, punto.

Vice tells Candy he is going to sponsor her radio show again. She is very happy. (Note to Candy: Haven't you had enough of the criminal element? Wasn't Napo bad enough, jus' saying).

Pancho is arrested for the fraud. Rebe gives him big hugs and kisses , he tells her to be strong, take care of the babies, they tell each other they love each other. Rebe swears she will do everything in her power to prove his innocence. Pancho tells her to call the hardest working lawyer at Avon, Lic Mendoza.

Tomas is at work and finds out Pancho has been arrested for fraud. Tomas will not be part of this investigation. Tomas is very upset and swears Pancho could never have done this.

Pancho is in the same jail where everyone in Toluca goes when they are arrested, the Lic in charge is the same one, albiet no glasses now, must have gotten a new "Luke" and gotten contacts. The Lic. tells him no bail for you, you have to stay in jail until the judge decides what is what. Pancho starts to tell him he didn't do it, but Lic Mendoza tells him to shut it, he ain't sayin' nothing now. The Lic tells him since his crime is so bad they are sending him to Cereso State Prison. (Side Note: I goggled this prison to see if it actually existed. It does it is in Juarez, in Chihuahua State. It is the worst prison in Mexico. It is home to gang bangers, murderers, drug cartels etc. It is very corrupt, the warden was way worse than the criminals in there, and the Federales had to take control of it in 2011 after a prison riot that killed alot of people. It is like a thousand miles from Toluca).
This is the same prison Tomas was in. Pancho is transferred there quickly and has his mug shots taken.

The whole family calls each other, tells each other what happened and gather together to see what they can do. They even call Enzzo in Monterrey, who being such a good friend, drops everything and comes right to Toluca. They all determine they will do everything they can to prove Pancho didn't do this. Tomas isn't liking where they sent Pancho. Candy is NOT at this family meeting.

Pina and Sebas talk about Freddy and Pina is convinced that Vice caused all of these problems and that Vice gave the Financial directorship to Freddy to keep him quiet. Sebas is going to contact someone about helping them catch this hacker. Sebas is convinced someone hacked the Avon Account.

Cut to the prison. The assistant of the warden Senor Valasquez recognizes Pancho and tells him the Directora wants a meet with him. Pancho goes in to meet her, and she says she knows who he is, and he can get whatever he wants there, women, liquor, drugs whatevs. Pancho is very sceptical but plays along saying he wants cable and cognac. This Directora is very corrupt. She is drinking brandy and chomps on a cigar, and spits the end at Pancho. She says, I think, that Pancho stinks. Pancho smells himself. She also says this all comes with a price.

Rebe is so mad, smoke is coming out of her ears, and she asks Dona Rebe to watch the babies while she goes out for a bit. Dona Rebe tells her no worries. Rebe goes to Avon and asks Pina not to fire her, she is out on maternity leave, but it expires soon. Rebe doesn't want to lose her job. Pina assures her to take all the time she needs, she completely understands. Pina and Sebas will help her. Rebe leaves and goes to Vice's office and tells him, I will tear you to pieces count on it, you jackanapes and jackwagon!

Lunes on Familia:

Vice holds a news conference.

Freddy kisses Ana, who says she has cancelled the wedding.

The Gargoyle from Cereso blackmails Pancho and hits him, sound familiar?

Vice is choking the hacker, and we see his face.

Una Familia Con Suerte #245-246 Thu 5/10/12 Fernanda sings her swan song, dressed as a flamingo.

Happy fun repeat of wedding dancing and horsetacular departure.

Lo nuevo:

Alone, in a quiet room…
Moni: I still love you and always will. Say, nice jewelry. I sincerely hope you will end up very happy with Frida even though you’re only marrying her out of spite.
Pepe: That is totally not how it is (and if I say it enough, maybe I can convince myself).
Moni: If you say so. Lemme give you a kiss goodbye. SWAK! Aha! You do still love me! Good luck with Frida.
Pepe: Crap, now what?

Babypalooza…
Fernanda: What sweet babies you are! Abue loves you, although your parents seem a little indifferent, what with their not bothering to think up names for you and all. Say, why did those nutjobs make the nursery spin?
Pancho, RebeJr, RebeSr: Oh noes! Fernanda is sick!

Da hood…
Pep boy: Well, that was a lovely time, even though my sisters had to break up your stupid fight.
Frida: Love ya.
Pepe: I love you, too.
Frida: Thanks, liar.
Pepe: Crap, now what?

Honeymoon heaven…
Enzo: I have a secret, and I’m not going to tell you!
Chela: Whatever. Paquito needs a sister. Let’s get to it, bombon.

The room of doom…
Pancho: Let’s go to the hospital!
Fernanda: No! I want to die here! I’m sick of the hospital set! Gather the family round and promise you won’t run Avon into the ground!
Doc Oc: It’s been wonderful, mi amor.
Fernanda: I’m so sorry I’m leaving you alone.

Afterglow…
Enzo: Salud, mi amor! Do not answer that phone!
Chela: They know we’re on our honeymoon; they wouldn’t call if it weren’t important… Egad! Doña Fer is dying!

Big house…
Vile Vice, alone: ‘Bout time you croaked, old thing.
Rest of family: Sob! Don’t die!

Pina’s place…
Pina and Sebastián: slurp smack swak slobber
Ado: Wooo-hoooo!!!
Pina: Good NIGHT, Voyeuración.
Ado: Looks like you’ll be having a BETTER night.
Pina: Good idea. Off we go, Sebas.

She isn’t resting in peace yet; she’s still smelling the sulfur…
Vice: How dare you not give me everything I ever wanted and don’t deserve, you mean old witch! You’re lucky you won’t live to see me ruin that upstart Pancho!
Fernanda: I will not allow it! All your problems are your own fault, you selfish greedy loveless ingrate! Okay, enough of you. Bring back the people who actually love me so I can say goodbye.

Fernanda says sweet things to everyone individually…well, she doesn’t get to Chela, Enzo, Candy, or MamaRebe, but maybe she didn’t have anything to say to them…and then that’s that. Everyone sobs. Long scene of Doc Oc saying goodbye, in which you can totally see Fernanda breathing. She moves her eyes a little, too. I know, I should pretend I don’t see it, but I don’t want to dwell on the dying. Rebe comes and reassures Doc Oc that they are his family and he isn’t left alone.

Outside…
Vile Vice: Now’s my chance, while he’s all weak and vulnerable, bwahahahaha!!!

Next day…funeral home…everyone in black and looking blue…
Pancho gives a short tribute which is nice and yet somehow manages to be more about him than about Fernanda.
Frida doesn’t let the circumstances stop her from being nasty and jealous of Moni, although they do refrain from brawling on the coffin. Moni hugs Pepe longer than Frida finds necessary and reminds Pepe that she loves him.
Freddy also hugs Ana, but for once Adrián isn’t hanging on her like a barnacle and snarling at Freddy.

Vice’s Avon lair…
Señor Don David: Dude, I can walk through the lobby and corridors of Avon with a cartoon face and not be stopped. Disabling the security cameras and using the distraction of a fire alarm to shuffle millions of monies into an offshore account and make it look like Pancho did it is a piece of cake.
Vice: Awesome. Now let’s just stroll out, whistling and looking all nonchalant and totally innocent.
So the lights are flashing and the alarms sounding and the sprinklers soaking everything, and Vice and Señor Don David are in the server room working the black magic. Yeah, no one will be suspect Vice, even though pretty much everyone else is at the funeral. Cartoonface takes the opportunity to shake more money out of Vice. Too bad Tomás isn’t on security detail now!

Back at the house…
Fernanda joins Laurita in the family shrine. It’s handy how the shrine is right next to the bar. Also, that is a freakishly nonreflective mirror behind the bar. What is that supposed to be?

Casa ChelaEnzo…
Enzo: I still have a surprise for you! But I’m still not telling you! It’s in Monterrey.
Chela: Okay, I’ll go find out tomorrow.

Restaurant…
Freddy: Bad form not to go to the funeral, Dads.
Vice: I hate dead people. Plus, los Lopez. Yuck.
Freddy: Enough. Boo, Ana is marrying that barnacle.
Vice: Bummer, dude. What’s the scene with Karina?
Freddy: Baby went buh-bye. So that’s that.
Vice: No baby! Hello, Ana! Go for it!

Casa Pina…
Ado: Soooo, Sebas…how was it?!?!
Sebas: None of your beeswax, you adorable weirdo.
Pina: Get lost, Ado dear.

Restaurant…
Freddy: How is it you were so desperate to be with Candy, and then it’s over, just like that?
Vice: When the chase is over, the thrill is gone. Gotta find fresh meat.
Freddy: Ew. So you’ve found new prey?
Vice: Nah, just a little snack of roadkill here and there.
Freddy: So why are you so giddy?
Vice: Bwahahahahaha!!! Er, I mean, no reason.

Lovey dovey supportive Pancho and Rebe scene. Those babies are so cute.

Avon…where somehow everything is not soaked…
And we learn that the property Pancho bought actually has four separate homes. One is Lupita’s guardería (has anyone been working there lately?), one is Chacho’s place, one is Tomas’s, and one is empty. He offers it to Pina for the Pipa foundation.

Monterrey…
Enzo presents to Chela the beautiful and huge palace he has bought for them. It even seems to come with pets! She does not seem sufficiently thrilled. I’ll take it and you, Enzo.

Casa Lopez…
Ana: Get lost, corn hair! I’m not interested in anything you have to say!
Kari: I just want Freddy to be happy. He loves you.
Ana: Well, that train has left the station!
Kari: I lost the baby!
Ana: Oh, no! What happened? That’s so sad! Why did you tell me this?
Kari: Truly, I want Freddy to be happy.

Building K…
Pepe: This episode needs some perking up, so here I am answering the door in a towel.
Moni: Now that is a view I can appreciate! Oopsie, dropped my keys down there by my shapely gams. Be a dear and pick them up? I brought breakfast.
Peppy: I’ll run get dressed.
Moni: No need.

Avon…
Lamberto: There’s been a fraud!
Pancho: Gasp!
Lamby: Yep, lots o’dough, off to vacation in the Caymans. And it looks like you did it.
Pancho: That’s ridiculous! Why would I steal from myself? Wait a minute…Iracheta!

Monterrey mansion…
Chela: Ummm…it’s nice and all, but who said I wanted to move to Monterrey?
Enzo: I’ve missed you so much! And I really like the job here. I don’t have to spend the whole day listening to Vice whine.
Chela: But we should make big decisions like this together!
Enzo: Fine, I’ll just sell the house then. Pout.

Telephony…
Ana: Freddy, I can’t believe you sent corn hair to tell me about the baby!
Freddy: I did no such thing! Hello?!

Avon…
Pancho: How dare you!
Vice: Who, me? I am so sweet and innocent!
Pancho: You are not fooling anyone! Look at this!
Vice: Wow! You stole a lot of money!
Pancho: AAAAAARRRRRGHHHHH!!!!

Building K…
Moni: You’re so much like your father, which I am contractually obligated to say because Pancho Lopez is the source of all goodness and must be praised at every opportunity. Yet fortunately you are not that much like him, so I love you and find you attractive.
Pepe: Fab. So, why are you here?
Moni: Just want to see how you’re holding up. So, are you really going to marry Frida? Do you love her?
Pepe: Of course!
Moni: You’re a terrible liar. Let me feel you up whilst reminding you that you love me me me.
Pepe: What are you doing?
Moni: Seducing you. Is it working?
Pepe: Yep.

PIPA headquarters/guardería…
Sebas: Great place, but stupid name for your charity.
Pina: Whatever. It’s going to be awesome.
Sebas: We gotta go. Avon emergency.
Pina: Well, the mascara will have to clump a minute longer. Ana, are you really going to marry that barnacle? Freddy loves you. Give him another chance.

Babyville…
Rebe Sr: I really like Pablo, but I’m suspicious. Why is a young guy into an old thing like me?
Rebe Jr: I want to meet him.
Rebe Sr: Hey, babies! Want to meet your new stepgrandpa?

Monterrey, telecom office…
Enzo: Why are you still talking? I’ll sell the house. Grr. But I’m too busy to talk about it.
Chela: I’m not mad about the house; I’m annoyed that you made the decision without talking to me!
Enzo: I said I’d sell it! I’m busy!
Chela: You’re not listening to me! We’ll move here! It’s horrible being separated!
Enzo: Yay!

Avon…
Pancho: It had to have been Vice! He’s out to get me!
Sebas: But how did he get into the account? It isn’t easy to do. And it’s a lot of money, more than anyone would expect to steal without it being noticed.
Pancho: We need an auditor to look into it.
Sebas: We have to move fast, before someone accuses you of embezzling it.

Building K, lovey dovey afterglow…
Moni: Ahhhh. We cannot be separated.
Doorbell: Ring!
Moni: Do not answer that!
Peppy: I have never seen a telenovela, so I think it’s probably a neighbor.
Frida: Dartañan! SMOOCH!
Pepe: Gulp.
Frida: Breakfast for two… a purse… AHA! I accuse La Francesa, in the bedroom, with the…lead pipe, let’s say.
Pepe: Calm down, okay?
Frida: Have you met me?
Moni: Whoa there, Tasmanian devil. I will just wrap myself in the sheet and step aside whilst my lover and his fiancée wrestle in my bed.

Casa Lopez…
Rebe: Hola, Pablo. What exactly are your intentions? My mother is very enthusiastic about your relationship.
Pablo: Me, too.
Rebe: I doubt it.

Building K…
Pepe’s forehead is bleeding and he’s got Frida in a headlock, with his legs wrapped around her. Moni leaves them alone for a chat.
Frida: Do you even remember that we are engaged? You just run right over here to fall in bed with her?
Pepe: I’m really sorry for hurting you.
Frida: I am heartbroken!
In the sala, on phone…
Moni: Daddy, that’s great that Chela and the baby are moving into the royal palace in Monterrey! What’s also great is that we are not on videophone!
Enzo: Yay, we will all live together!
Moni: Er, I am not going to be moving to Monterrey. It would make my renewed boinkage with Pepe so much less convenient.

Guardería garden…oh good, Lupita seems to have other adults working there…
Lupita: What’s wrong, Ana?
Ana: I don’t know what to do! Kari told me the baby is difunto!

Building K…
Frida: This is all my fault. I knew you were only with me to spite la francesa. Do not try to comfort me! Goodbye! This is not over! Slam!
Pepe: Well, that was a disaster. I should probably be less impulsive. Moni, will you forgive me for how I treated you?
Moni: You’ll have to work really hard for it.
Pepe: Getting started right now, smooch.

Avances: Vice is vile, yet Candy kisses him. Pancho is arrested.

Una Familia Con Suerte #243-244 Wed 5/9/12 Get me to the church on time!

Last night's cliff-hanger (Fred begging Ana not to marry his rival) is swiftly resolved. She shuts him down.

Chacho is still freaking out about the urologist (who he calls "the violator"). Nice to see a case of *male* infertility in the media for a change.

Boy, does Vins look sleazy. He's scheming with his boy hacker via a webcam in a public internet cafe, planning crime and destruction while bored-looking Mexicans check Facebook on either side of him. He's silly in his hat and sunglasses.

Rebe's dad glowers menacingly when he finds out that his ex was out with a younger man, but nothing comes of it. In fact, forget I wrote anything.

Pina lets Kari know that, even though the girl has her support in most things, amor hermoso belongs with Ana. Kari is unconvinced.

I am quite surprised at how little input Enzo is given in his own wedding. He doesn't even know what he'll be wearing, let alone what day the wedding will be. There's a storm in Monterrey, and all the flights have been cancelled. Chela gets really mad, which I could possibly understand if they hadn't thrown this wedding together the day before yesterday! I mean, was she really in such a bridal haze that she did not conceive of scheduling mixups like this? She flips out, and the girls (Candi and Lupita) kind of fall into a sort of a sympathetic freakout. Finally, once he realizes there's no other option, he decides he will drive. I'm somewhat confused at how horrified everyone is by this concept. They all gasp. Drive? Who could conceive of such a barbarity?!

Meanwhile, Frida is asking her boss for some extra money so she can look really good and make Monica jealous. The word she uses is "tupirla," meaning to squeeze or compact. Ew.

In another Pancho-Rebe baby scene, they change diapers and give a rather egregious product placement for some "pure, natural" nappies. Shameless. I guess they're trying to pack 'em in before the show stops, and they couldn't think of anything more subtle.

Kari makes yet another appearance at Fred's house. It's the baby, she says, skip the wedding and come to the doctor with me - I feel weird.

Predictably (I guess Chela saw it coming too), Enzo's car breaks down. He calls her to tell her what happens, but only gets as far as "I've got some bad news" before the cell signal is lost, leaving all the girls back in D.F. in utter hysterics. If only they had brought Pepe with them, Moni whines. Enzo decides to hitchhike, and after some trouble picking up a ride, Enzo employs the nuclear option from the hitchhiker's playbook - doing yoga in front of an oncoming produce truck (personally, I would choose a smaller car to step in front of, on account of its shorter stopping distance). He succeeds, and he and his daughter nestle into the back of the pickup truck, surrounded by luggage and fresh fruit!

Rebe's mom is trying to keep her promise and stay with the babies, but she keeps thinking about her youthful galan. She dumps the kids on Chucha and goes to make mushy eyes at him. He is very sweet to the cougar.

Chela really needs to get a grip. She's going crazy, and even wishes for death (seriously). While Chela bawls, Enzo and daughter get dropped off at the edge of some market somewhere. They get directions and Enzo pays the truck driver to defray his gas costs. Overjoyed, the driver gives a papaya as his mark of esteem. Then the weary travelers (Moni is whinging about the smell of the market) hop on some bicycles, ask for directions, and are on their merry way.

At the hospital (man, this show has really been monopolizing the studio's hospital set this past week or two - maybe shows in their final chapters get priority), Kari comes out of the doc's office in tears. There's been a terrible accident and the baby has been lost. Fred gives her a grudging hug, thinking that he'd rather be at the wedding fuming at Adrian. Either there was really a tragic failure of the pregnancy, or this is Kari's most brazen ploy to date.

The weary cyclists make it up the final hill, and a gasping Enzo thrusts the papaya into Pancho's hands. Someone informs the girls and then the priest, who had been in the process of informing the altar boy and the gilded crucified jesus statue that this wedding was not going to happen (no man, no marriage, right senor?). Enzo and Chela hurry to get dressed in their "traditional" Mexican attire (skin-tight mariachi for him, and I-forget-what-it's-called for her).

The ceremony goes off quite smoothly, except for a brief instant of panic over whether Vins, one of the designated witnesses, would show up. Eventually he does, evincing a foul mood and a ready sneer.

At the reception, though, things get real between Frida and Monica. They lock themselves in the bathroom and have a bit of a scuffle. Ana and Lupita bust down the door (sweet) and break up the fight. I bet Pepe will never hear the end of this from his two sisters.

The bride and groom do a -how can I put this in a culturally sensitive way- goofy dance to "la cucaracha," and everything is wrapped up for today. Tomorrow though, it looks like Fernanda might begin her deathward spiral. Back to the hospital set!

Una Familia Con Suerte #241-242 Tue 5/8/12

Sorry folks, we don't have a recap from Monday night.  We're playing a little catch-up, so anyone who remembers much is invited to fill us in!

Today's big opening event (well, I guess it could be review from yesterday) is Frida proposing to her Dartañan! She offers him  one of those metallic screwing pipe fasteners as a ring, and he accepts (with minor trepidation). The boss of the car shop gives him a little talking-to about his intentions with the girl (as in, don't marry her for revenge, you little punk!).

Here's where I'm totally stumped: Vins is conspiring with a child in a fancy suit, with his face obscured by an animated smiley face and his voice artificially deepened. Vins has some sort of plot hatching with this "Señor Don David," who demands a great deal of money be deposited into his account in the Caiman Islands. Was there more on this yesterday?

Lupita is now OK with Tomás' true vocation, wishing him luck as he heads out on a dangerous operation.

More to come tomorrow morning!

Fred hasn't gotten the news about Ana and Adrian's engagement, and he accepts Adrian's thanks and a big hug!

Chacho is hanging out with Pancho at Avon. I have to wonder, how come Chacho hasn't been given a cushy job yet? Anyway, Chacho is very impressed at the sight of Pancho using legalese/"fufurufos" to ream out somebody over the phone. He has been to a fertility clinic with Sandra (are they *already* trying to have a baby?).

Pina and Pancho are scheming to set up a charitable foundation "for the children..." for kids of the barrio, to be called PiPa or somesuch. She remarks on the irony of finally finding happiness with Pancho's help. Vins storms in, cursing Sebastian...

Candi is in tears. It seems Vins dumped her. Chela tries to console her, but takes an unusual approach, in more of a "these things happen" tack, not mentioning the possibility that Vins is just a jackwagon.

Poor Frida is aware that Pepe may just be marrying her to make Monica miserable, but she professes it all worthwhile for a chance to show him how much she cares.

Monica opens up the whinery to her Dad. She wonders if there's something wrong with her look, and he chuckles.  But yes. I think the "French" wig is awful on her. Soon she returns with short blonde hair, but the offensive thing is that she says "I fixed myself." Ugh. Chela swears her to secrecy and reveals that she has planned the wedding (without anyone's knowledge, not even Enzo) for a few days in the future. Soon, though, Enzo tickles the secret out of his daughter.

Meanwhile, Pina finds out from Arnold about Barb. In her words, "O. MY. GOSH." He recounts all the many places Barbs has taken him, and she delightedly laughs in his face. Sebastian strolls in, and Arnie makes a hilarious show of drooling over him.

My delight over Doña Rebe is only increased when I see her date, a handsome young man with a motorcycle. She hops in the sidecar and off they go! Unfortunately, it doesn't go that well.

Pancho has called a family Junta, for a couple reasons. His heart is "in hilo" over Candi's sadness, but first and foremost he wants pictures of the whole family and he has a surprise for the whole family: the twins are back from the hospital. Pancho makes them all do some kind of forced-march conga line upstairs to see the babies, and they get some great photos!

Sebastian finds out that Vins hurt Pina (back when the latter found out about Sebastian and Pina, he grabbed her arms pretty hard). Vins shows up to harangue them, and the boys get to fighting! Vins seems to gain the upper hand swiftly, but Pina intervenes and calls security to throw the rat out (they're in the Avon parking deck).

At the Junta, Candi announces the pending divorce, and Ana announces her engagement. No one is happy for Ana. They all think she made the wrong choice.

Oh yeah... Kari is pregnant from her little romp with Fred back in the Yucatán.

Sebastian gives Fred some advice: it's time to step up and throw all the meat on the grill!

And now for some sad news: Fernanda is pretty sick again, and Pancho comes for a chat. She gets a flashback to that night on the bridge. She says she's "dying to see the kids," and apologizes for a poor choice of words.

Chacho gets the results - the problem is him. He's TERRIFIED of the urologist!

Pina gets a showdown with Viv, Sebastian's Ex. I've always thought she looked like a vampire. Pina has her thrown out.

Fred, aiming to throw some meat on the figurative grill, gets all combed up and puts on an ugly shirt to go ask Ana not to marry Adrian. End scene.

And some help here: Who's the random bad singer who makes the crooning cameo in this episode?

Una Familia Con Suerte #239-240 Mon 5/7/12 Pina Is Back, Adrian Asks Ana to Marry Him

I am putting this header up, since there was no recap for Monday. This is what I remember from Monday's episode, these are not in order:

Candy asks Vice for a divorce because he wants to ruin Pancho and she won't go against her family.

Adrian asks Ana to marry him, and she accepts.

Pina returns and Freddy tells her that Karina is pregnant.

Adrian's daughter has an accident, falls over a balconey at Pancho's on top of Freddy's car. Freddy takes her to the hospital.

Doc Oc is becoming more foggy. He comes to see Pancho and can't remember how he got there. He remembers he has patients he needs to take care of, and Pancho goes with him.

Vivian is still trying to get Sebastian back. Sebastian has a fight with some guy, didn't catch his name, who evidently had an affair with Vivian. Vivian sees Pina about to go out with Sebastian and tries to tell her that she is reconciling with Sebastian, but Sebastian stops her and warns Vivian that the next time she comes near him, he will call the police. He explains to Pina that he is not reconciling with Vivian, and that he likes Pina very much. Ado likes Sebastian alot, she is preening in front of him.

Please fill in what you remember. These were the highlights.

Una Familia Con Suerte #237-238 Fri 5/4/12 Bummers a-plenty

Part One: Baby Bummers

Dr. Quack has bad news about the baby boy: his lungs are a bit underdeveloped, so he's on oxygen. That's normal for a premature baby, but until he's stronger they won't be able to complete certain tests that he needs, like a CAT scan, because his responses aren't quite right. He may have suffered some neurological damage, possibly because of the drugs the doctor gave to Rebeca to revive her.

Adrian and Fred are physically brawling outside Stately Lopez Manor when Ana & co get home. Unfortunately, Pepe breaks up the fight. What a shame. A duel to the death would have solved everything.

Viv is visiting Sebastian in his office. He turns down all of her offers to go out for dinner or a drink and tells her that he's dating someone at the company. She has lots and lots of questions about Pina. While sipping a tequila at his desk (is that where I've gone wrong in my career - should I start bringing booze to work?), Viv reveals that she's taking antidepressants and probably shouldn't be drinking. Oh, and in case he couldn't tell, she's still in love with him.

In front of Grandma Rebe, Pancho and Rebeca bicker some more about his thoughtless decision to save her life. She's mad that he overrode her wishes and now the baby's problem is all his fault. Grandma agrees that a mother always puts her child first, but at least everyone survived. Rebe doesn't see it that way. Of course, Pancho was remembering how his first wife died. But all Rebe can think about is what if her baby doesn't recover. Pancho leaves the hospital to blow off some steam.

Ana and Fred argue. Paraphrased and condensed:

Ana: So much for that trip to Mérida, eh?
Fred: But we had broken up!
Ana: And then it shouldn't have been a problem that I was with Adrian during that time, right? Remind me again WHY we broke up... oh right, it was because you saw Adrian enter my house and you got all insecure and went running into the arms of ol' Cornilocks.
Fred: I'm sorry! I love you! I don't love Karina! I've changed!
Ana: You'll never get rid of her now. She'll always get between us. Go back to her and be a man. I DON'T EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!! [Wow, did anyone else get a severe flash of deja vu just now?]

Doc Oc tells Rebeca the baby has stabilized. He appeals to her sense of logic: what would she have done in Pancho's place? The same thing he did. Oc tells her to take care of herself, grow stronger, and let science take care of her baby. That seems to help and now she's ready to forgive Pancho.

How many people go TO the office to blow off some steam? Pancho interrupts Vivian and Sebastian and nicely tells Viv to scram so they can talk. I bet when Sebastian accepted this job, he had no idea that rehashing all of Pancho's woes would occupy so much of his time (in addition to entertaining his own ex-wife). He tries to reassure Pancho.

Arnold tells Barb that Pina will kill him for not warning her that Sebastian's ex is trying to get him back. Barb doesn't think it will matter because Viv won't succeed: Sebastian is too angry with her. But it gets worse: Viv tracks them down and wants more info. Arnoldo recuses himself from the conversation, but Barb assures Viv that she swore him to silence.

Enriqueta, the señorita who knows a guy that has a bomb shelter with a donkey but likes him anyway, is doing some work (WORK?!) at her desk when she hears an explosion under the Christmas tree. Is it the end-times? Is it an attack on the Presidency of Avon? She calls Security. Tomas shows up in safety gear and unplugs the Christmas lights. He scolds her for plugging too many things into one outlet. Sadly, this is the high point of his day.

After the fight, Ana goes into the house and informs Adrian that she just gave Fred the heave-ho. Adrian presumptuously assumes that this means he's in like Flynn. Sadly, it would appear that he's right. They exchange "te amos" and kisses.

Fred goes home. Ado sees his sad face and frets.

On the phone, Grandma Rebe tells Chela and Candy just enough about the baby's troubles to really worry them. Rebe Jr. begins to stir, and Grandma has to hang up. Then Vice calls Candy and she's excited to go home and see him. Chela calls Pancho and chews him out for having left the hospital. He tells her about the boy's lungs.

Enzo and Moni are having dinner. He'd kind of like to postpone the wedding because his life is so complicated right now, but Chela wouldn't like that. He finds the job very fulfilling. As for Moni, she wants to forget about Pepe and move on. Despite the success of Enzo with Chela, or Pancho with Rebe, overcoming their sociocultural differences, she doesn't think she can do it; maybe it's because they're older. Enzo doesn't think so. He thinks it's because she's more cautious than the rest of them. Many people go into things with their eyes closed, but Mónica is not so impulsive. Enzo feels that since she takes the responsibility of marriage and family very seriously, Pepe shouldn't expect her to jump into it without thinking about it. He'll have to wait until she's ready.

Pancho goes back to the hospital.

Pepe and Lupita talk about Frida. He likes her; he cares for her; she'd appreciate the apartment. Easy decision, right? Lupita points out the small detail that he doesn't love Frida.

Tom comes home and makes sarcastic remarks about all the excitement at work today. Lupe thinks he'll get used to it and goes to find him something to eat. Tom confides to Pepe that he absolutely hated it.

Ana and Adrian are in the bedroom. She is inexplicably wearing a different outfit. They kiss. He starts to take her blouse off. Then he puts it back on to deliver his next line, LOL, and then takes her blouse off again.

And now they're on the bed. Okay, NOW he's in like Flynn.

Chela has dinner with Lupita, Pepe, and Tom and brings them up to date on everything, including Pancho having to choose between Rebe and the baby and the injection that may have damaged him.

Morning.

Ana and Adrian wake from the same dream, in their own separate rooms. Phew! They didn't really do anything!

Rebe had a dream too. She wants to name the boy Julio, after her father. The girl will be Ana Guadalupe after Pancho's other two daughters. Great, that won't make things even more confusing!! The other kids visit with gifts.

Vice is in bed with the covers pulled up to his chin. He tells Candy that while he was away, he made some decisions. He's going to fix everything in his life, pay off his debts, get back his vice presidency... and ruin Pancho. (He looks more like he wants to hide under the covers.) Candy doesn't want him messing with Pancho and accuses him of using his time alone to plot against her brother. Vice says he can't help it. Then Fred shows up and he's rude to her and that makes her even angrier. She flounces out. Fred drops the baby-bomb on Vice: He's going to be a grandfather. That's just the news Vice needs!

Ding-dong at Sebastian's house. There's a motorcycle outside his door - a gift from Vivian, according to the note. "After what happened, you said you didn't want anything more to do with bikes... but I know they've always been your passion." (Wow. As an encore, will she rub lemon juice and salt into his wounds??)

At the school cafeteria, Ana tells Lupe about the dream about Adrian, just to make sure that we are all absolutely on the same page with all of this and she definitely did not really sleep with him for real. Thanks for clearing that up. Pepe shows up and says he has to talk to Lupe about Tom: Tom really hates the Avon job where nothing happens. He's not happy. Lupe says she couldn't go on that way with his life at risk, and it's better for Tom than being dead. Pepe says that for Tom, it IS death. And his boss sent him a letter asking him to please not leave the police force.

Tom's starting another action-packed day at Avon. The guy from the night shift hands in his report: "sin novedad." That's the last thing Tom needs to hear. He thought-bubbles, "sorry, Lupe, but I can't go on this way."

Vivian brings coffee to Sebastian in his office. Does she live there or something? She doesn't get why he's angry about the motorcycle (even though he makes vague reference to a "fall"). She thought it was a great gift. He tells her to take it back and don't bring him any more gifts and don't come back to see him! Viv tries to turn it around on him, acts insulted that he would accuse her of emotional blackmail, and leaves. Let's see how long that lasts.

Grandpa Julio goes to the hospital to see his daughter and new grandchildren. He brings a great bouquet that includes, among other things, peach-colored roses. Grandma excuses herself in a hurry and calls Pablo, the cutie bartender from the karaoke bar.

Pancho asks Doc Oc why Fernanda hasn't come to see them yet. Doc Oc seems to be at a loss for an answer. Then he says maybe it's jet lag or something. Or she's feeling weak from all the excitement. Doc discourages Pancho from visiting her, so Pancho tries to call her. Doc seems kind of out of it, and I think Pancho mutters some doubts about that experimental medicine Doc Oc's been taking.

Candy returns to the bedroom. Fred is still there. He whines that they're not done talking. Too bad; it's her room. Vice suggests they continue in the living room, but Fred lets loose on Candy with a bunch of insults. Candy says "no wonder Ana picked Adrian." Ha! But Vice sides with FRED! So she tells them both to go to hell.

Cutie bartender Pablo comes to the hospital to see Grandma Rebe and brings a DVD of her karaoke performance. Julio sees them together and has a fit. She encourages him to assume the worst.

Adrian to his daughters: I'm going to ask Ana to marry me, and I need your help. Because it's every girl's dream to have her boyfriend's daughters propose to her.

Fred and Vice go to a restaurant. Vice explains that Fred walked in on a fight already in progress. Candy was upset because Vice still wants to take down the greengrocer. He's been trying for months. He can't stand being in second place.

Rebe tells Chela that she and Pancho are okay now. Pancho comes in and they speculate about Fernanda. Then Julio comes in all upset: his wife is dating a "young boy!"

Part Two: Grownup Bummers

Vice says he really loves Candy, but this problem with her brother is really serious. He compulsively scoops sugar into Fred's coffee and offers to help with his problems. Fred thinks it's hopeless. (He tastes his coffee and frowns at it.) Vice says he believes in fighting for love, but it's obvious that Ana doesn't love Fred. And she doesn't deserve him. That doesn't mean he has to stick with weird, crazy, manipulative Karina, and at any rate Vice is on his side. Big hug.

Vice goes back to his other topic: even if it costs him his relationship with Candy, he has to strike a decisive blow against Pancho.

Grandma Rebe explains her marital situation to Pablo. After 40 years of marriage, her almost-ex-husband is jealous... but now that they're divorcing, she feels free, happy, fulfilled. Despite Pablo's youth, he understands how she feels, because he's getting divorced too.

Meanwhile, Julio is still complaining to Pancho, Rebe, and Chela about Grandma Rebe's "pubescent" new boyfriend. Rebe is shocked and plans to give her mother a talking-to for dating someone who's young enough to be her grandson. (Excuse me, but isn't her grandson an infant?) Pancho doesn't think she should rush to judgment. Too late. She sends Pancho to summon her mother.

So Pancho confronts Grandma's alleged beau and she explains that she only said they were dating to mess with Julio for being so nosy. Pablo earnestly says she's a great singer. Grandma clarifies that they've only just met and are planning to go out to dinner. She's displeased that Julio was so quick to run to Rebe with the gossip.

At home, Candy calls Chela to complain about Vice plotting against Pancho and failing to defend her against Fred's disrespectful attitude. They meet for coffee. Candy says Vice seems different since he came back - and more determined to sink Pancho.

Fred goes to work and tells Arnold how much he hates Candy. Arnold doesn't really understand why. Then Vice rushes in and says he's paid off all of his debts. When the charges against him are dropped, he'll get his vice presidency back. He can't wait to gloat to Pancho.

Rebeca asks her mother what's the deal with this guy you're dating who's one-third your age. Pancho tries to say some things in Grandma's defense, but Grandma is perfectly capable of defending herself. Doctor Quack interrupts to tell them that they can see the babies now.

Rebe and Pancho worry about their tiny babies, which we didn't get to see. Pancho tells her it will be okay.

Vice wants to crow at Pancho, but Sebastian is in his office. He jokes that Pancho's chair is more comfortable than his, ha-ha, actually he's there to find some papers. Pancho is with his twins. Vice laments that Pancho has even more kids. Sebastian asks why Vice hates Pancho so much. It's because Pancho has taken everything that's his, including his vice presidency. And he thinks Sebastian is cut from the same cloth. Sebastian says Vice is just jealous about Pina. Vice practically dares Sebastian to hit him; and when he becomes president, the first thing he'll do is fire Sebastian.

Tom tells Lupe he's going back to work for the police. They have the "alive vs. happy" argument that she already had with Pepe. She knows that this work is important to him and she doesn't want to make him to choose, but it's too much suffering for her. She can't marry a policeman. She gives back the ring.

Candy goes to the hospital and warns Pancho that Vice is different and more bitter than ever. They don't get to discuss this much because then Chacho and Sandra show up. They're trying, three times a day, religiously, to have a child of their own. Chela et al suggest that they see a doctor to erase all doubts.

Fred vents to Arnold: Ana doesn't deserve me. They debate whether her going with Adrian was revenge because of Karina's pregnancy. Karina overhears "that's why she broke up with me" and goes crazy with joy. (I HATE what they've done to this character!) Fred coldly informs her that he's not sad; he's angry. She's oblivious.

Lupita cries; Ana listens. Pepe listens to Tom.

Candy goes home to Vice and tries to make nice with him. He's distracted. (It's funny when she flings one of her shoes over her shoulder and it knocks something over.) He tells her he paid off his debts and will soon get his vice presidency back. He's still trying to figure out how.

Pancho and Sebastian rehash about Vice. Sebastian says he's had a rough day, but chooses not to mention Vivian. He tries to reassure Pancho about the twins.

Morning again. Tom returns to work at the police station, with much fanfare from his colleagues. He tells his partner that Lupita broke up with him.

Lupita's already left the house. Pancho and Rebeca ask Ana about Lupita and the ring, but Doc Oc shows up and wants to talk about Fernanda. He convinced her to go to the hospital for a PET scan. The cancer's back. (Ana, Pancho, and Rebe huddle awkwardly for a tight three-shot into the commercial break.) Pancho is devastated. And they can't go to Germany for treatment this time, because she's too weak. Rebe asks about her prognosis. They're going to start chemo ASAP, but he doesn't know how much time she has.

At the garage, Pepe tells his boss he broke up with Moni. Frida runs into his arms, finally completely cured. He gives her a big, huge, non-conflicted kiss. Their boss excuses himself with a wink. Frida asks Pepe if he's seen Frenchie lately. Nope.

In Monterrey, Moni remembers the breakup. Enzo is in a bad mood and yells at his secretary about somebody else. He complains about everyone's incompetence. Moni thinks he's taking it all too seriously. He admits he's afraid he'll fail on his big chance.

Sandra makes an appointment with a doctor. Vice makes his triumphant official return to the office. She welcomes him back. He says he's ready for anything. ANYTHING.

Adrian tells the girls that today's the day. They're going to Toluca to ask Ana to marry them. I mean him.

Fred calls Pina to say he has some news for her when she comes back. Then he visits his father, who's already fixing himself a drink. Fred asks if it isn't too early for whiskey. Vice says he's an earlybird. He asks Fred where he can find a hacker.

Pancho wants to visit his mother. Oc says she's still absorbing the news, and in fact had asked him not to tell them. But he really needed to talk to them. Now she's gonna be mad. They tell him not to worry. He says maybe they can see her tomorrow. If she dies, well, she's his reason to live... Rebe says everything will be okay.

Next time:
Candy's marriage is in peril. Who would have guessed?

Una Familia Con Suerte #235-236 Thu 5/3/12 The doc delivers a lot of bad news.

Also two babies, but those are kind of an afterthought.

So, where we left off, Kari has just gloated to Ana that she and Freddy are pregnant. I’m sure the tabloids will be interested in that. Ana, not so much. Adrián is delighted. He and Kari should just get together. Adrian stalks Ana into the house and she actually comes downstairs and unloads her feelings about the news even though she had already told him to skedaddle. Finally she gets rid of him again, but like the Terminator who can’t be terminated, he’ll be back.

Rebe has a fast pulse and high blood pressure, and her crappy doctor doesn’t even examine her, just recommends meds and rest via phone.

Freddy drags Kari back to Pina’s place (not his; safety in numbers with Ado around) and she’s in happy lala land and he yells at her. He thinks she did this on purpose and is just using the baby to separate him from Ana and annoy her. Kari tries various guilt trips on him but to no avail. He says he’ll be a good dad, but he will NOT marry or date Kari.

Turns out Vivian and Barb are friends, so Arnoldo gets a little breather while Viv whines about all her problems to Barb. She claims she would have killed herself and only her love for Sebastián kept her going. She must win him back.

Pancho advises Sebastián to let go of the bitterness and stop hating Vivian, for his own peace of mind.

Tomás chides Pepe for pressuring Moni. Pepe says he’s not sure he loves Moni anymore, and he’s not interested in getting back together. Maybe Frida. Tom does NOT approve.

Frida is heading to Puebla to visit her sick tio abuelo, but first she wants a proper goodbye from Pepe. For “proper”, read “naked”. They make out, but Pepe’s phone rings as he is starting to relieve Frida of her clothing. The mood is derailed and he leaves.

Moni tells Pepe she’s going to Monterrey to work with her dad. He says he’s tired of the drama anyhoodle.

Kari tells Moni she got pregnant on purpose, woo-hoo! Moni does NOT approve. She does serve Kari wine. Probably figures with a mom like that, the baby should get a head start on drinking.

Ado calls Freddy “Joven Amors Hermosho”. She agrees to keep the news secret from Pina awhile.

Rebe Sr. and Candy go to Bar Bohemio for karaoke. The bartender makes eyes at Candy and stares at her with a dopey grin so long he looks like a total idiot. Finally he snaps out of it and brings over a free drink, but when Candy cuts him off with “I’m married” he claims it’s for Rebe Sr. because he loves her singing so much. They flirt and MamaRebe takes his phone number. Candy thinks he’s too young for her.

Enzo gives Chela and us a strip show. They may have had a conversation during that; who knows, doesn’t matter.

Sebástian could really stand to loosen up. He puts a suit jacket on to answer the door and accept a flower delivery. The note from Viv just makes him mad. At least he was formally dressed to tear it up. Wouldn’t do to have a fit all casual and whatnot. Throughout the rest of the episode Viv continues chasing after Seb and he finally tells her he’s found someone else.

Rebe faints and the family loads her into the back of La Burra for a trip to the hospital. She can thank her crappy doctor for necessitating this. Turns out she has pre-eclampsia, and the crappy doc wants to induce labor, nearly three months before the babies were due. Obviously there is much fretting and all missing family members must be summoned to the hospital to join in. Enzo and Chela were in bed, and I get a good laugh because apparently the director thought it necessary to show us Enzo pulling on his undies…and one can see he already had some on, this being a family show and all. Tom is busy working at Avon (and looking bored senseless), but Doc Oc shows up, conveniently home from Germany already.

Continuation of the side plots: Enzo and Moni go to Monterrey, and Moni is surprised at how bossy he is. The assistant (now Denisse, Haydee’s not in) says he’s usually worse. He admits to Moni he’s conflicted about the wedding. Perhaps he would like to know anything about it. Freddy and Adrián arrive at the big house at the same time as usual. Fortunately for Ana, she’s at the hospital stress eating so she misses them. Adrián taunts Freddy until he snaps.

And back to the hospital. We get some tedious childbirth theater, then the baby girl is delivered. The crappy doc makes Rebe suffer and fret needlessly with a stricken look on his face before finally telling her the baby is fine. Rebe starts struggling, though. Crappy doc tells Pancho he has to choose: the other baby, or his wife. {This is ABSURD. No decent doctor would ever ask the family member to make a decision like that. You do what you have to do, and if someone dies, at least the family member doesn’t have to feel guilty for choosing to kill them.} {Also, that baby could have been C-sectioned out in the time crappy doc spent yelling at Pancho to decide. They were all sterilized and in a clean room already. Just sayin’.} Rebe uses her last seconds of consciousness to insist that they save the baby. As soon as she’s out, though, Pancho flashes back to Laurita’s death and tells crappy doc to save Rebe.

Next thing we know, Rebe is waking up in the recovery room, and crappy doc is somberly telling Pancho he made the best decision. WHAT?, asks Rebe. She yells that she wanted the baby saved, not herself. HOW ARE THE BABIES?! Crappy doc looks all sad and stricken for a long long moment while she freaks out, but finally he tells her the babies are both okay. Rebe is still furious at Pancho for overruling her.

Crappy doc gains a few points by refusing to allow the big loud boisterous family into Rebe’s room. Just her mama. But then he loses all those points and then some by dramatically telling Rebe he has bad news about the baby boy.

Avances: Everyone’s celebrating, so I’m guessing the tragic news about the baby is that he has jaundice or something. Seems Fernanda isn’t doing so well, though.

Una Familia Con Suerte #233-234 Wed 5/2/12 Happy New Year

I am afraid this one might be a little jumbled: at some point last night, I got up. When I sat back down at the TV, I must have started my notes again, but in a different notebook. I don't know which one is which, so there could be a little time gap.

Anyway, the curtains rise on Lamberto (Beto's) Bunker of Love. They just finished a romantic dinner surrounded by livestock in cages (there's even a lamb. Can you imagine Beto killing a lamb?), and Ketita is still only mildly freaked out. She decides to perform a little psychology on him. He quickly admits that his anxiety is a result of his childhood - he was always "el nerd" and the other children picked on him. He used to go to sleep praying to not go to school the next days. This is just the right thing to say to a motherly Ketita, who gives him a kiss!

Much of the Lopez family assembles for the New Year's dinner. Lupita feels bad for killing Tomas' dream, but not *that* bad.

Doña Rebe and Candi must be extremely limber by now, because they've been doing stretches outside Pancho's house since last night's episode. Two identical-twin (down to their caps and goatees) delivery men show up with packages for Ana. Doña Rebe is smitten, but they're more interested in Candi. They love the calendar, they tell her. She gets a funny look, like maybe she just realized that those photos going public might not have been as nice a thing as she thought it was. The two men give their opinions on the best photos. "I like the schoolgirl." "I like Santa Claus."

Both of Ana's suitors, in their respective homes, are very pleased with themselves. "There's no way he could think of something this good!"

Doña Rebe and Candi crowd in on Ana... "open it, open it, don't read the note, just open it!" Adrian has sent her a fancy heart necklace with "AA" engraved for their initials. Booring... What did Freddy send? It looks like a picture frame and a mushy note. Poor Adrian... Ana's really gonna string him along before choosing Freddy. But she doesn't know that yet. The ladies are going to take her out for a makeover.

Doc Oc has good news - his condition is stable and he's taking Fernanda on a vacation!

Chucha, the fat maid is in love, as she tells Rebe. I don't know if they're making a cruel joke on her size, but the animated hearts that flash around her when she says so are brown and look like chocolate. Public Safety Announcement: she's been using contraceptives. Kind of sad that the second thing Rebe asks was "what if you get pregnant?" Hah, she doesn't want to lose a maid.

I can't help but laugh at poor Arnold's plight - Barbs just demands too much lovin! He's pretty funny. Likewise, Pancho has no sympathy and happily leaves the room when she shows up in a hot minidress.

Now the New Year's party can get started - the Astroloco is in the building! At dinner, he reads fortunes - I mean horoscopes. Doña Rebe is in for some prohibited love, and Candi has some dark signs. Pancho cuts Mario off right there, though. Realizing that he needs to lighten it up a bit, the Astro-nut gives his prediction for the new year: excitement and love! We see everybody's individual new-years countdowns: Beto in his boonkair, the Lopez in their place, Barb and Arnie dressed as romans in their private little bacchanalia (lol), and Chacho all alone.

Poor Sebastian thinks about his dead kid, who was asking to spend more time with him. He misses Pina...

Ana has a hilarious dream. Her, Pancho, Adrian, and Fred are all wearing giant stuffed heads and costumes (like mascots). Pancho shoots the starter gun and Ana (with her stuffed Accordeon) looks on in dismay as the two boys with giant heads race towards her. It's a tie and they leap on her. She wakes up and says "hmmm, I wonder what it means?" Dummy.

We meet Chucha's boyfriend, who's come to help her clean up after the party (chalk this one up on the list of random filler subplots, right next to the Astroloco). His name is Tiburcio, he's a little person, and Pancho makes some jokes at his expense but everyone forgives him because he's Pancho.

Meanwhile Barbs goes at Arnie for "round 10."

Sensing that the time is right, Frida makes an appearance at La Casa Popular. Pepe takes her out to eat, where she finds out he dumped la Sirena. She can barely restrain her glee, and very sweetly lets him know that *she* values him and would marry him at the drop of a hat. She makes an attempt, but he won't kiss her. Awww, what a dummy (Pepe).

Rebe is nauseous and has a headache and Palpitations. Pancho calls the doctor and then races out to get some sort of pressure gauge. Why not take her to this hospital? Doña Rebe comes in to fuss over her daughter. How sweet!

Candi and Doña Rebe make a really fun team. They discuss Karaoke, and I would LOVE to see them ham it up singing together. They take Ana out to get makeup and new clothes. There is some surprisingly dramatic music for the makeup sequence. Huh? Then Ana comes out (we don't see her) and the older ladies gape at her and there's a cut to commercials. Seriously, is a new outfit what passes for a cliffhanger now?

Pancho has taken to yelling for Chucha, just like Pina did. He admits to Enzo that he just likes yelling. I knew it!

Karina has sent Fred a text, urgently needing to see him! Fred ignores it, because he has enough on his plate and doesn't want to see her. Kari (at Monica's house) is telling everyone that it's a life-or-death matter, and Enzo lets slip that Fred is over at Pancho's house. The no-self-esteem stalker-chick pops up over there and announces that she's carrying Fred's baby! Uhhhh what? Wasn't Mérida a long time ago?

Fred has to snap out of it pretty fast, though, because Ana just arrived in her new getup. Incidentally, so did Adrian. Ana's outfit is hot but a few miles over the top. She's wearing a big black hat, gem-studded sunglasses, a black minidress with a torso cutaway surrounded by rhinestones, and sequined platform heels. Everyone gapes. Ana, however goes right to Kari. "What are you doing in my house, pelo de elote [corn hair]?"She gleefully replies "me and Fred are pregnant!"

That's all for last night. Did you guys notice the new animated transition-clips to signal the end of commercials? Also, it's back to the hospital next episode...

Una Familia Con Suerte #231-232 Tue 5/1/12 The Love-Bunker

Ok guys, there was a lot of unhappiness this episode as well as a random astrologer who wants to be Pancho's friend based on the stars and stuff, but Beto took the cake today. An amazing scene that made this 2-hour slogfest a little more bearable.

Anyway, What seems to be the main plot driver this episode is Ana and her two men. She can't decide. Yeah, we get it already.

Also Pepe proposes to Monica, gets turned down because she "doesn't know if she's mature enough," and takes it as rough as you would expect.

Lupita is also unhappy, explaining to Tomas that she couldn't handle the stress of being a cop's wife and not knowing if he was going to come home.

----Continued----

Pepe wastes a romantic location (where his jefes first kissed) on the proposal to Ana - he throws down a trail of rose petals and Moni totters after him on heels. She refuses, but they'll have to think of something fast to wrap it all up before the series closes. Where's Frida when you need her? Oh yeah, angry and dejected.

After receiving the you-gotta-fight-for-love from his daughters, Adrian gets dressed up (no, he's always in a suit) and trucks over to la casa popular, where he makes his case to Ana, who is much shorter than him and dressed like a 16-year-old girl. The imbalance looks a little creepy and drives home the point that no one seems to care about the age difference (how old is Ana, anyway?). Anyway, she tells him that she's going to distance herself from Fred. And Adrian, too.

Tomas comes to meet with Pancho, come for his share of the Avon nepotism. Pancho says great, our head of security is an old dude, let's give you his job! So Tomas will give up his dream to steal some old-timer's sinecure. Way to go Lupita. He's totally going to resent you for it within the year.

Random PSA brought to you by Lamberto: The end is near!

Rebe's mom drools over the guy who delivers the baby-mattress, and we are reminded that she's now a free woman!

And gaaaawd, doesn't Kari have anything less humiliating and personally degrading to do than chase Fred? She shows up to gleefully roll in the dirt for yet another run at Pollis. Like clockwork, Ana shows up at the door. While Freddy goes to let her in, Kari takes her top off. At this point, with Ana, it's like Charlie Brown and the football. Will she fall for it AGAIN?

I don't get to find out, because over-the-air Univision goes dark. I just started using an antenna rather than cable, but all the other channels were still coming in fine. Instead, I watch a few minutes of "Conan, el Destructor" on Telefutura. The guy they have dubbing Arnold has a pretty funny voice.

When Univision returns, Kari has her shirt back on. Awww.

"Doña Rebe" is doing stretches with Candi, who is telling her about that time Vins didn't hide behind her when Napoleon tried to take her away. She says Vins his her reason to live. Poor girl.

Chela tries to speak to Moni on Pepe's behalf, and Moni flares a little bit of her mom's crazy in response. I think it's genetic.

Arnold and Barbs get busy in a costume shop, despite his mild protestations. And I mean busy.

Ketita gets off work early for her date with Lamberto.

And now the astrologist makes his appearance. Talk about your random subplots! He thinks that Pancho is the perfect embodiment of the Taurus and the Mexican spirit, admires his success, and calls him and the vice-president-who-just-stepped-in "masters of the universe." He would like to be Pancho's friend, and invites him to a new-years-dinner of like-minded astro-nuts (astrolocos, as Pancho says). Pancho, who is a fiend for flattery, is quite taken by the prospect.

Freddy and Adrian are both trying to scheme up plots to win Ana back. That's cute.

On his drive home, Pancho finds a dude selling lewd Candi calendars from the median strip. He pulls over to stop traffic and have a look. They're pretty hot, and the guy gives him one for free. He takes them to show Candi and Doña Rebe and Rebe all hot with righteous outrage, but he can't seem to get them on the outrage train. Candi, in particular, is extremely pleased with how good she looks in the photos!

Pepe tries to  complain to Lupita, Ana, Popeye, and Temo, but they would rather tease him for being a whiner and not thinking it through properly ("don't you remember what happened last time you lived with her?" "you want a little white dress to wear while you cry?"). They have a good point.

Now comes my favorite part of the whole episode. Beto has been following Mayan doomsday mythology, and he converted himself a little bunker o' love in a bank vault for him and Ketita. It is quite well-stocked with canned food, livestock (chickens, a turkey, and I could have sworn I heard a donkey braying at one point), and plants (which seem to be growing surprisingly well, given that they're in a bank vault). He extolls the virtues of his plan while Ketita quietly freaks out and looks for an escape route.

Pancho also chides Pepe for proposing to Monica. "Making a family isn't like making enchiladas." Well said.

And that's it for last night!

Una Familia Con Suerte #229-230 Mon 4/30/12

Heart to heart talks and surprises! A recap from last week.

We begin with Melanie and Temo talking about Adrian and Ana. We also catch the scenes with Freddy and Ana in Freddy’s apartment and with Pancho and Rebeca’s conversation as well. We finally catch the scenes with Tomas and Lupita talking about the next police operation and the operation itself where Tomas has a run-in with a gun.

We begin today’s episode with Pancho and Sebastian talking in Pancho’s office. Pancho asks Sebastian to consider taking the vice-presidency intermittently while Vicente takes care of his legal and financial affairs. Pancho warns Sebastian that there might be problems with Vicente letting go of his position.

In another part of town, Chela and Enzo are showing their love for one another before Enzo has to leave for the airport and head for Monterrey. Enzo is very curious to know something about the upcoming wedding. Chela won’t say a word about it. Cute scenes.

Candy knows that Vicente will be pretty angry about being temporarily let go of his position as vice-president. She wants to surprise him by doing something very special…a Candy calendar! Arnold takes pictures and while he and Candy interact, Barbara comes in and lets Arnold know she doesn’t want him near Candy. She insults Candy and Candy doesn’t hold back and slaps Barbara. Barbara threatens Candy that there will be a fight if Candy is near Arnold.

Back to Pancho and Sebastian. Pancho continues to fill Sebastian in on his history with Vicente. While waiting for Vicente to receive them in his office, they talk about a more personal issue…Sebastian losing his son. Pancho opens his heart and lets Sebastian know how scared he was when all of his kids were in some kind of threatening danger at various times…Pepe with his hand, Temo in the well, and Ana and Lupita in the operating room.

Vicente finally decides to talk with Pancho and Sebastian, and of course, he’s both drinking and furious upon receiving the news that he is temporarily relieved of his duties. He immediately blames Pancho and figures that it’s what Pancho always wanted. He also begins to question and insult Sebastian. Sebastian defends himself and says that he can clearly see what kind of a person Vicente really is. It infuriates Vicente even more. Pancho breaks it up.

Candy and Arnold talk a little bit more and Candy makes a very stupid mistake. While they discuss how Candy will obtain her calendar (delivery, email, etc), she lets Arnold know that he can send her everything via facebook. Well…we already know what will happen, right??

Chela tries to comfort Rebeca on accepting her parents’ divorce. Candy tries to comfort Rebeca’s mother as well. Julio goes to see Pancho and offer him a sincere apology. They have a heart to heart talk about things. Julio lets Pancho know how much he appreciates Pancho’s good and noble qualities and asks him to continue making Rebeca happy.

In Monterrey, Enzo is considering buying a house where he and his family can live.

Next, we see a couple of thinking or daydreamers…Adrian and Pepe. Freddy interrupts Pepe’s daydream. Pepe tells Freddy that he plans on proposing to Monica.

Lupita and Tomas talk on the phone, and Tomas hides the truth from her. He knows how she’ll get. Lupita worries anyway when she hears him scream in pain.

Adrian comes to see Ana, and they also have a heart to heart talk. Adrian is very honest with her and tells her that the best thing is for them to not see each other anymore. He wants her to have the security and comfort to decide who she really loves and wants for a partner. Ana is stunned. While she understands his position, she is still very confused. Adrian continues to be honest with her. She’s left crying. Temo comes in and tries to comfort her as best as he can.

Pepe and Freddy talk like good friends about their respective love interests. They listen to and try and encourage one another.

Julio and Rebe also have a heart to heart talk. He explains that he’s going back to the United States and is very likely to get divorced from her mother. Rebe is saddened by this news and tries to convince her dad to at least stay for New Year’s, but he gently tells her that it’s best for him to go. It was a nice moment and conversation between Julio and Rebeca. Julio leaves, and Rebe and her mom have a little talk as well. Dona Rebeca is saddened by the ending of her marriage. She feels that she has failed.

Adrian pays a visit to Pancho and is honest about ending his relationship with Ana. Pancho understands the situation. More than offering advice, Pancho just listens. The conversation is cut short by Rebe who calls to talk. Pancho offers to come home for lunch and be with her for a while.

Lupita and Candy are on the computer when Ana comes in crying. They try and cheer her up and probably confuse her even more. Candy tells the girls about her calendar surprise for Vicente. Candy is the one who is surprised when she sees that her calendar is all over Facebook and is being sold on the street as well. Arnold made an error and posted the pictures on Candy’s wall rather than sending them to her privately. Vicente will be furious…even more!

Much of the Lopez family spend some time together over conversation, lunch and dessert. Pepe and Tomas also talk, and Pepe lets Tomas know that hiding the truth from Lupita is not a good idea. Of course, when Lupita and Tomas are together and Tomas tries to cover things up, the truth comes out and Lupita freaks out and is upset that Tomas lied.

Vicente finds out about the calendar! He buys all of the ones the salesman is selling and is on a mission!

Sebastian fills Pancho in on how his son passed away. Pancho lets Sebastian know that even though his son is gone, he must continue to press on and live life for himself, to honor his son’s memory, and to find love once again. Slowly but surely, a friendship is beginning between them.

Vicente arrives home and confronts Candy about the calendar. Candy sincerely feels terrible about how things happened and tries to explain everything. Vicente asks for Candy’s forgiveness but tells her that he needs to get away for a while to put his thoughts and life in order. This breaks Candy’s heart, but she continues to support him and offer her unconditional love. Vicente tells her not to worry but also lets her know that he won’t be communicating for a few days.

Now we go to another heart to heart talk between Mother Rebeca and Daughter Rebeca. This time, it is the daughter who puts the cards on the table. She tells her mom that she won’t take sides or listen to how badly she speaks of her dad. She also asks her mom to think about whether or not she has any fault in the ending of her marriage. Hmmm.

Some other heart to heart talks take place. The first is between Tomas and Pancho. The second…between Freddy and Vicente. The third…Pepe and Tomas. The only thing I didn’t like was that Vicente wasn’t honest with Freddy regarding why Pancho removed him from his position.

Karina and Monica talk about Freddy. Monica continues to try and make Karina see that Freddy’s not in love with her. She won’t have it! She’s going to win Freddy and the love war.

Pancho brings his mother-in-law some candies to sweeten her life. They talk for a bit, and Pancho encourages her to go out on a limb and do something she’s always wanted to do but couldn’t because she was married. She rather likes this idea. Right at that time, when we’re about to find out what she wants to do, Candy comes in a mess and lets Pancho know what happened with Vicente. Rebe joins the conversation, and between everyone, they try and comfort Candy.

At that point, there’s a loud knock at the door and when Pancho opens the door, he encounters a very loud and angry Freddy. This boy is showing character and attitude, which is something that Pancho likes but reins in a bit. Ana also comes into the picture, and Pancho talks to both of them and explains everything with the whole truth. Freddy doesn’t like what he hears but realizes that Pancho is right in what he said about Vicente bringing everything up on himself. Both Freddy and Pancho worry about Vicente wanting to isolate himself because they know he’s not that kind of person. He generally takes the bull by the horns and attacks or does something to show his spite and anger. This time, he’s almost running from his problems rather than facing them.

Ana and Freddy have another heart to heart talk. Freddy appreciates knowing where he stands with Ana. Ana’s heart is divided, and she doesn’t know who she loves more. There’s a short scene with Adrian and his oldest daughter. Basically, she lets him know that he needs to continue fighting for Ana.

Chela and Monica are at home talking about surprises. Chela lets Monica know a few of the wedding details but asks her not to say anything to Enzo because it’s a surprise. Then she says that Enzo also has a surprise but won’t say anything.

My DVR cut out right when Pepe comes to pick Monica up for a date. The last thing I saw was that he shows Chela the engagement ring he bought for Monica. My theory is that he’s got a special surprise planned for Monica regarding the proposal. My theory is that Pepe will receive a surprise as well.

Una Familia Con Suerte #227-228 Fri 4/27/12 Feliz Navidad, Bah Humbug and the Girl Who Couldn't Decide

The Refried:

Tomas is ok after the police operativo.

Candy massages Vins feet, while smelling his shoes, and says she won't leave him. She married him for richer for poorer etc.

The New:

Everyone is throwing Rebe a baby shower. Most of the gifts are Huggies diapers. Dona Rebe tells Rebe that Julio are her are bankrupt. Rebe promises her that she and Pancho will help them. All the guys are at the baby shower too. Rebe tells Pancho her parents are bankrupt.

Except Vins and Enzzo. Vins is having a pity party for one and is hanging out with Enzzo cause he ain't going to no baby shower that has Pancho there, Bah Humbug. Enzzo tells Vins sorry pal this is all your own fault and you should have paid up. Vins uses the excuse of mi's planis went wrong and I got divorced and had to give the Pina all my dinero and property. Bah Humbug. Enzzo goes to the shower, and Vins leaves.

Freddy comes to see his Paps. Candy opens the door for him and asks if she can get him anything, he says no just Paps. Paps comes out and Freddy says he stopped by to say bye cause he is spending Navidad with his Moms and Meli Amors. Paps asks about his bruised face and Freddy tells him he fought with Adrian over Ana. Freddy gives the gifts he brought with him to his Paps and wishes him Feliz Navidad. Paps says he loves his Nene.

Freddy goes to see Ana and tells her he stopped by with a gift for her and tells her he is going to Torreon to spend Navidad with Moms and Meli Amors. Freddy gives her a hug and she thought bubbles about the time he read poetry for her on the cherry picker. She tells Freddy Feliz Navidad and they commence the kissing. Rebe walks in, they totally ignore her and keep on kissing. Ana breaks the kiss and looks totally confused. Freddy tells her he is in love with her. He goes to leave but before he does, he kneels down and kisses Rebe's baby bump and wishes the twins, Rebe, and Pancho Feliz Navidad.

Elena and Orion have come home for Feliz Navidad. They go to Tomas's place.

Julio comes for Christmas and Pancho goes to hug him, but Julio is steaming mad, bah humbug. Pepe steps in and hugs him anyway. I think Pancho tells a mother-in-law joke, and then Dona Rebe does an imitation of Pancho.

Ana is now very confused. She tells Lupe she kissed Freddy.

Doc Oc is talking to Pancho, Rebe, Dona Rebe and some others standing around he is on a new drug therapy and it is doing wonders.

Pepe is trying to find Moni. She isn't answering her cell.

Candy gives Vins a check for all the past due taxes and to get him out of his jam. It was money left to her from Napo. Vins is shocked and somewhat repentant and she says all she wants from him is to say Feliz Navidad. She tells him she is going to Pancho's, he won't go there, bah humbug. Enzzo stops by and gives Vins a present. They have a hug.

Ado has come over to help cook the dinner. Concepcion has come too and brings the baby.

Vins, Enzzo and Arnoldo spend Christmas together.

Ana and Adrian talk. She tells him she kissed Freddy. He is pithed off.

In the cutest scene tonight, Popeye gives Abjea a dog tag with her name on it. They tell each other they love each other and spend Christmas with their beautiful puppies.

Everyone is gathered at Pancho's including Elena and Orion who have come from Australia, I think. Pepe is still looking for Moni. She comes in with Frida. Pepe is really surprised and so is Pancho. They think there will be trouble, but they both go over and greet them. Frida tells Pepe and Pancho that Moni lent her the heels and the dress to come to their party. Pepe is proud of Moni. Later Moni tells Frida she really wants to help her, because she is all alone and she wants to be her friend. They hug.

Adrian tells Ana he is going back to Gaudalajara with his girls cause Ana betrayed him. She says she is confused, but he isn't buying it. He says he spent all this time with her and her mind should have been made up already.

Arnoldo and Enzzo try to convince Vins to come to Pancho's, cause that is where they are going. Vins can't believe it. He hates Pancho. Arnold reminds him that Pancho is not only his brother-in-law but your cousin. Vins says he ain't going, bah humbug. Arnold and Enzzo leave Vins to stew in his bah humbugness.

Everyone but Vins is now at Pancho's party. Pancho gives a speech about all the things he is grateful for. He is grateful for his Ana and Lupe making it thru the kidney transplant (Montage of all that happened), he is happy for Rebe and the twins, happy with Pepe, Moni and Frida being friends, happy he found his Jeffa Dona Fer (Montage of how he found her and how he found out she was his Mama) and happy she found Doc Oc who is now his Papa, happy that Chela and Enzzo are together with little Paquito, happy Adrian has come with his daughters (Pancho doesn't know about the fight), happy Arnoldo is now out of the closet and with Barb, happy that Sebastian is with Pina (even though she isn't there), happy that Chacho and Sanrita are together, happy that Tomas is with them and saved Candy from Napo, happy Candy got the man she wanted (Even though Vins stayed home, bah humbug), happy that Orion and Elena have come home for Christmas, happy that he has Chucha, Ado and Concepcion there (they do a cute little dance). Then he tells Everyone Feliz Navidad.

Vins talks to Nene on the phone, wishes him Merry Christmas and tells him to tell Pina and Meli Amors the same.

Candy leaves that wonderful banquet of food (I have to say here I love the food on this TN) and tells Pancho, Vins is all alone (Mr Pity Party for One Bah Humbug)

Julio is pithed off because Dona Rebe told Rebe and Pancho all of their financial woes, bah humbug.

Pina calls Sebastian and wishes him Merry Christmas with many hugs and kisses.

Sebastian took this call outside and he sees Temo and Adrian's girls playing soccer. He thought bubbles about how he used to play soccer with his son. Temo asks him why he is so sad and if he is ok. Sebastian says he is ok and tells Temo about his son. Temo hugs him and they play soccer.

Candy goes home to Vins. She has a little surprise for Vins, she has a trenchcoat on. She takes it off and she is "Candy Claus" she even says ho, ho, ho. He chases her all over and they end up rocking the house.

In another cute scene, Temo is dressed in a little chef hat and brings Rebe and Pancho breakfast in bed. He tells them about Sebastian's son. He also tells Pancho there is something he wants Pancho to help him with.

That help is to take Temo to the carcel to visit Salome. They walk in there and Temo has some drawings. They bring Salome in with shackels and cuffs. Pancho tells Temo they are never to tell Tomas they were there. Temo runs and gives her a hug. He was happy when she went on that helicopter ride with him and has brought her the drawings he has made of that. She has tears in her eyes. She gives Temo a kiss on the head. Pancho asks her how she ended up with such a bad man as Napo. She says its a long story. She tells Pancho that their coming to see her in the carcel is the best thing that has happened to her, she is crying. Temo, Pancho and Salome have a group hug and Pancho says he'll help her once she is out of the carcel.

Adrian tells his daughters they are going back to Guadalajara cause he and Ana are having problems. The girls aren't liking it. The girls don't want to leave Temo but Adrian tells them they are going and that is that.

Rebe and Pancho talk about Dona Rebe and Julio's problems. Pancho wants to help and will talk to Julio. Dona Rebe comes to talk to Rebe. Pancho goes to talk to Julio. Julio is very mad (bah humbug) cause Dona Rebe spilled the beans to him and Rebe. Pancho tells him he wants to give him a hand cause he is part of the family. Julio, bah humbug, doesn't want no stinking help. Dona Rebe comes in and wants to help Julio see the error of his ways, that he can't get out of this trouble by himself and he needs a hand. Julio is yelling at Pancho and keeps saying he doesn't need no stinking help (bah humbug) especially from Pancho. Rebe tells him to respect Pancho.

Freddy is on his way back and thought bubbles about Ana.

Pepe and Moni are talking about Frida. Pepe is glad she brought her and Moni says she only wants to help her, because the girl is all alone with noone. Moni tells Pepe nothing will ever seperate them again.

Lupe and Ana come to see what all the fighting is about. Julio is still saying he doesn't need anyone's help (bah humbug) and that he is leaving. Pancho clears the room so Rebe and Julio can talk. Rebe tells Julio that Pancho is a great guy who only wants to help him out of his trouble. She tells Julio he and Dona Rebe are now part of the family, and that family is everything to Pancho. Julio, for the first time, starts acting human and cries and tells Rebe not only do they have financial problems, their marriage is in trouble.

In the other room, Dona Rebe is talking to Pancho and the girls and says that Pancho shouldn't worry about Julio. Julio has never supported her in the things she wanted to do and that her marriage is in trouble. She wants a divorce.

Earlier Ana and Lupe talked about Freddy and how confused Ana is. She thought bubbled all about her relationship with Freddy and sleeping with him. He was her first. Freddy comes back from Torreon and brings Ana flowers. He wants to take her somewhere. He takes her to his apartment. She thinks his Moms lives there too, but he says it is his alone. Freddy kisses her and she thought bubbles about Adrian kissing her. She tells Freddy she told Adrian about kissing Freddy. She tells Freddy everytime he kisses her she thinks of Adrian and everytime Adrian kisses her she thinks of Freddy. She is sooo confused. She wants to go home and think about all this.

Tomas goes on another operativo. This time it is drug dealers. They surround the house and Tomas is the first one in. They surround all the drug dealers and round them all up. There is one they didn't see and he is pointing his gun at Tomas. Tomas' fellow officer yells gun, but Tomas is slow to draw and is shot in the arm.

Una Familia Con Suerte #225-226 Thu 4/26/12 Felices fiestas y festering infeliz.

*Telecom, Monterrey. Smoke wafting off the midnight oil*
Enzo: Why is this so hard? I thought mastering the telecom industry would be easy.
Haydee: You can do it!

*Casa Lopez. Twinkly*
Sebastián: Why was Pina so wretched before?
Pancho and Rebe: The devil made her do it. Let us catch you up on the history of Vice.
Seb: Well, I think she’s a real cutie patootie.
P&R: You should be cutie patooties together. Bring her to our posada. You’re part of the family now.

*Ana’s room. Calmly angsty*
Ana: Freddy’s so tempting again after the letter. That guy knows his way around a printer! Swoon! But if I wait for him to grow up, will I still be interested in a hot romance? I’ll probably be dominating the nursing home bingo games by then.
Lupita: What about bachelor number two?
Ana: Oh, yeah, he’s worn me down. If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one who won’t go away. But…I love Freddy.

*Casa Lopez. Pensive*
Tomas is shellshocked, remembering killing Napo, with a haunted expression.
Lupita: Yoo-hoo. Anybody home?
Tomas: I killed him.
Lupita: Qué?!
Ana: Who cares? He was a skunk.
Tom: Still! I never killed anyone before.
Lupita: Better him than you. Why don’t you take a nice safe security job at Avon, where they stick to embezzling and sexual harassment?
Tom: With my looks, I’m safer battling gangsters.

*Telephony. Cautious and sensitive*
Enzo: Wow, unbelievable about Napo. I’m too exhausted to get worked up, though. Sure you’re all okay?
Chela: Totally fine, aside from the arctic chill in the house. Bummer that you’re so overwhelmed you don’t even sleep, but can you swing by halfway across the country tonight for the party?
Enzo: (Are you freaking kidding me?) Um, I don’t know. Running a telecom is hard when you don’t know anything about telecoms.

*Avon. Schemy*
Jimena: Are you sure?
Auditricks: Yep. Everything’s ready.

*Pina’s office. Totally harshing her mellow*
Pina: Orchids from mi nuevo amors! Life is a gift, and so am I with all my bows.
Kari: Pina! Help me! Your bad kid won’t play with me anymore, and after we bumped little cars and everything! Make him!
Pina: Sorry, sweetcakes. No can do.
Kari: But I have blue eyes! And fancy family names!
Pina: He loves you not, Daisy Duke.

*Avon lair de Vice. Antagonistic*
Isabella : Thanks to you I’m fired, jerk! Are you happy?
Vice: I’ll be happier when no place in the world will hire you! Wait, I know this place where you can grope skeevy dudes for money. Shall I write you a recommendation?
Isa: SMACK! You slimeball! Defaming me just because you didn’t get away with your shady deeds?!
Vice: It’s your own fault you were getting it on with the prez.
Isa: Liar liar pants on fire! I can’t prove it, though. You’ve won. I’ll go away and stand in line for charity bread. Just admit to me that you fabricated this.
Vice: I admit Pancho is the most upstanding of all the standing-uppiest, and he would never do such a thing, and also that I don’t pay my taxes.
Isa: Thank you ever so much, unkind sir, for your cooperation.

*Casa Lopez patio. Increasingly bedazzled*
Freddy: Here, Abeja. Enjoy your romance, even though your puppies seem to have gone missing. ‘Sup, Temo?
Temo: Big party tonight! You should come!
Freddy: Wasn’t invited.
Temo: Adrian’s coming with his cute daughters. Meli who?

*Avon. Victorious*
Isa: Ha! Got his confession on a recording!
Jimena: Hee hee! Now what?
Isa: Give him a taste of his own medicine. Newspaper ink, that is.

*Pancho’s office. Getting’ stuff done…for once*
Pancho: Let’s throw a huge fun Christmas party for all the employees. I’ll be Santa Claus and hand out gifts, therefore making myself the star of the show. But you and Freddy get to do all the work.
Arnold, glumly: Okay.
Pancho: What’s wrong? Why won’t you tell me all your secrets?
Arni: Hola, Crazy Candy, and au revoir.
Candy: Pancho! Eek! Tomás killed Napo last night! And Vicente was willing to take a bullet for me!
Pancho: Whoa. How can he be so sweet to you, and such a low-down rotten nasty crook otherwise?

*Casa Lopez. Trying to muster cheer*
Tomás: I’m too traumatized to sleep. Let’s help decorate.
Ana and Lupita: Whee! Yes! You probably won’t die decorating!
Rebe: What’s wrong, Mr. Inspector Detector Hotness Projector?
Tom: I feel terrible, like maybe there’s something else I could have done.
Rebe: There wasn’t. You had to save yourself and Candy and Vice.
Tom: Yeah, but I feel bad about making Lupita worry, especially after the tragedy with Alex. But this is my calling.
Rebe: It’s too much to process all at once. Give it time. I recommend decoration therapy. It’s working for me.

*Arnoldo’s office. Traumadrama*
Arnoldo: I must focus intensely on this boring image of whatever on my screen. It’s super important. I am so busy.
Barb: Yoo-hooo!!! How do you not notice me when I’m draped across your desk like it’s a piano in a sultry jazz lounge? Look into my seductive eyes!
Arnoldo: I’m too ashamed. I did a bad, bad thing. I helped Vice frame Isabella.
Barb: Well, that killed my mood. You should feel terrible! You should have seen Rebe when she saw the article!
Arnoldo: I am tormented! Why haven’t you ditched me yet?
Rebe: I want to help. But first, how about you demonstrate the curriculum of the Arnoldo School of Kissing?

*Vice’s office. But more like bad kid in principal’s office*
Candy: Boo! How can you do this to my family? More importantly, how is your smear campaign going to tweak the holiday vibe at the family partay?
Vice: I can’t help it! I hate Pancho!
Candy: Well, okey dokey then. I’m not with the gondoliers right now, so anything you do is okay.

*Pina’s office. Love is in the air. Or maybe Step Sexy. No, love*
Sebastián: Wanna go to the Lopez shindig with me?
Pina: Sure. But I have to warn you, even New Pina still hates Candy. I will never get over that, ever. So we shall snub her.
Seb: Gotcha. I totally understand.

*Bethlehem/North Pole/Club Lopez. Festive, obvio*
This party is so happenin’, they even have a choir to sing while they set up and prep the food! I’m a little miffed I wasn’t invited. It looks awesome. Finally, it is night and the party is underway, band, dancing, fires, sparklers, food galore.

Chela: Boo. Enzo is too busy working to have fun partying and getting married.
Pancho: Give the dude a break.

Jimena: It worked! Isa got it all recorded!
Rebe: Yay! Problem solved!
Jimena: It’ll be in the paper tomorrow!
Rebe: WHAT?! She was just supposed to give it to your boss!

Candy: What’s up with you two?
Arnoldo and Barb: EVERYTHING, Candy. Everything, ifyouknowwhatimean.

Fernanda: Sebastián, you seem awesome.
Pancho: Yeah, he is. It’s great to have one person at Avon who works.

Ketita: You two are so cute! When’s the wedding?
Chacho and Sandra: Maybe after we have a baby.
Ketita: What? No, you should get married first.

Pancho: Oh goody, a microphone in my hand. These fools are never smart enough to hide it, and I love making long boring speeches and cackling with amplification. Everyone cheer for Tomás!

*Bar Bohemio. Not bohemian*
Freddy: Moms is totally fine with my declaration of independence.
Vice: No way. Pina isn’t like that.
Freddy: She’s way better now (that she isn’t around you). Plus, she has a hot new suitor.
Vice: NO!
Freddy: Say, I heard about the bad bad thing you did.
Vice: I hate Pancho.
Freddy: Well, I don’t care for Candy.
Vice: Guess what happened last night. I’ll catch you up, since you still haven’t heard even though no one around here does anything but gossip.

*Back to party*
Some singing tradition that goes on forever. But lo! Pepe and Moni have arrived! Long time, no see. Then, piñata time! I love this. It reminds me of my family’s parties. Except we let the kids go first and we don’t make out over the spoils.
Enzo arrives while the party is winding down and Doc Oc is saying he’s going to be in a drug trial.

*Elsewhere in house. Disappointment*
Ana: Here, barnacle. Torture yourself by reading this lurve note from my other lurver. It made me swoon, by the way.
Adrián: Grr. What about me?
Ana: Dunno.
Adrián: Eternal stalking it is, then.

*Candyland. Aka the mile high club*
Pants-free Pilot Candy: Fasten your seat belt and get that tray table in an upright position. You’re in for some turbulence. Thank you for flying Candy Air.

*Casa Lopez nursery. Lovey-dovey*
Pancho: Wow, what a nursery. You certainly decorated it with all sorts of décor. Let’s shop for more stuff.

*Candyquarium. Not too unlike the vibe Vice used to have at breakfast with Pina and Freddy*
Candy: Buenos días, mi amor! Here is your breakfast and newspaper!
Vice: Argh!

*Avon. Annoyed*
Pancho: Crap. Isn’t there any other news? Why is this the whole front page? Isa, what were you thinking? Share price will drop!
Isa: Sniff. Sorry.
Pancho: Oh, all is forgiven. Let’s get all up close and personal.
Isa: You’re the best. Too bad you’re taken; you would have been the love of my life.
Pancho: Ack. Well, good luck with everything.
Isa: SMOOCH! Wait, no! Uh, bye!

*Pina’s office. Sweet*
Pina makes plans on phone to see Meli at Christmas.
Pina: Sebi! I get to see my precious Meli Amors! Can you go with me?
Seb: Sorry, have to work since I’m the only one who does.
Pina: I’ll miss you!
Seb: I love you!

*Arnoldo’s office*
Pina: Freddy, wanna go see Meli?
Freddy: Can’t; I have to move.
Pina: Okay. Hugs all around!

*Avon. Confrontational*
Jimena: Pay up or you’ll be embargoed, Vice. Also, your accounts have been frozen.
Vice: This is all el verdulero’s fault!
Jimena: No, it’s yours. All you have to do to fix it is pay what you owe.

*Avon plant. Festive, in a cheaper less decorated fashion*
Pancho: Pancho Claus has arrived, ho ho ho! Presents for all the factory workers’ kids!
Seb: Whadda guy.
Pancho: If Pina’s gone, you must spend Christmas with us!
Vice: Santy Claus! You’re a mean one, mister Grinch! Who are you, elf?
Seb: Sebastián Bravo.
Vice: Pina’s…   … !!!
Everyone: Yes!
Vice: Tantrum! I’m leaving!
Seb: Did he seem jealous?

*Arnoldo’s office. Gossipy*
Arni: So, did the card work?
Freddy: Too soon to tell. Why?
Arni: Did you know I gave Ana kissing lessons so she could snag you? So I’m totally involved in your relationship!
Fred: Eek.
Arnoldo: Well, it worked.
Freddy: Did it ever.

Recapper out of steam. Condensing now.

Enzo is  really busy and Vice is mad and wants his attention and a huge loan.

Jimena meets Sebastián and is smitten.

Rebe invites her parents to her baby shower the next day. Not sure why they’re having it so soon, during the holidays, when the babies aren’t due for months. Something is up with MamaRebe and Rebe is worried.

Candy dresses like Wilma Flintstone and gossips with Arnoldo about her bedtime dressup games. They’re going to make a sexy calendar for Vice. Barb is annoyed that he hugs Candy so tightly.

Tomás is still out of sorts. Pancho claims he doesn’t like to meddle in people’s lives (ha!), but he’s worried about Lupita so he’d be happier if Tom worked at Avon. Tom understands, but believes in what he’s doing. He mentions he could have taken the money Salomé offered and lived a life of luxury with Lupita. Pancho is proud of him for doing the right thing.

Chela tries to sell Moni on having a baby. Moni isn’t ready yet.

Pancho and Vice fight, zzzzzzz. Pancho reminds Vice that officers who are in trouble with the law are suspended from their jobs. Candy disrupts their fight with Lucy Ricardo sobbing.

Freddy and Adrián both arrive at the house with flowers for Ana. We get some cockfight footage, just so it’s clear. They have words. And then they have a knock-down, drag-out fight. Ana, Rebe, and Chucha break it up and send them away.

Barb doesn’t want Arnoldo hugging anyone but her. Claro. Raimundo walks in as Arni and Barb are in deep liplock and he faints. When he recovers, Rai claims he and Arnoldo are an item and Barb faints.

Tomás, the newest newbie who doesn’t follow basic safety precautions, gets put in charge of some rescue mission.

Freddy moves into his new place and invites Pepe and Moni over. They’re stunned he isn’t living with Mommy anymore.

Vice cries to Arnoldo about his woes. They blame Pancho.

Candy cries to Chela and Rebe about Vice’s woes. They are sympathetic and try not to trash Vice.

Freddy tells Pepe and Moni about the fight and that he broke up with Kari. Are Kari and Moni not friends anymore? How does she not already know about this?

Adrián the leech is still clinging to Ana and claiming she’s being unfair although she’s always been honest with him and he only got as far as he did by being a pest until she gave up. Stop dithering and ditch him, Ana.

Raimundo demands an explanation from Arnoldo. Arnoldo gives it in heterovoz. Rai is distraught.

Pepe and Moni cross paths with Adrián in the driveway and note his bad mood.

Oh, hey, Candy has an even more Wilma Flintstoneish outfit. Vice’s ardor seems to be frozen along with his assets, though. He’d rather whine and blame Pancho. Candy doesn’t like this. Vice demands she choose sides.

Why is this show not over? These double episodes are too much.

Lupita and Tomás are still at odds over his dangerous work. Lupita cries about his new assignment but agrees to be supportive. The music is rather too dramatic for my liking. Upstairs, she disrupts another boring rehash of Ana’s love life with her crying. Temo joins and they all pillow fight.

Enzo arrives home all tired and Chela insists on giving him a foot massage. Enzo snuggles the baby. That baby is my favorite character right now. He cries less than the rest of them.

Candy cries to Pancho and Rebe. Pancho tells her to side with her husband.

The polis go on their dangerous operation to rescue a guy from a remote cabin. Lupita prays. She’s still sleeping in Ana’s bed. Did her room get turned into the nursery or something? The op is a success. Tom’s poli buddy thinks he’s a superstar. Tom calls Lupita and she’s relieved.

Baby shower. Good grief. Will this episode never end? This is the third party. Rebe’s mother has arrived.

Candy is in yet another Wilma Flintstone outfit and massaging Vice’s feet.

Enzo wisely opts to skip the baby shower, but unwisely lets Vice into the house for a chat. He tells Vice his problems are his own fault. Temo is sent to summon them to the party. Someone push that kid in the well.

MamaRebe tells Rebe she and pops are bankrupt and left with nothing.

Fin, por fin.
