Sleeping Beauty de Sofia awakens from her
nightmare to find it’s been all too real.
Beatriz’s dried blood is all over her hands. Out, out, damned spot[s]!

Down the hall, La Inocente de Isabela awakens
from her dreamless sleep to find Diego up on his feet and smiling. He’s turned romantic and tells her it’s all
because she’s come back to him. He asks
her never to leave his side –all this from a knife wound, a stab in the
back. She allows him his romantic way
with her. (Damn, is she easy! If Julio only knew what a pillow-pushover she
is for sweet words and small talk, his sex life could take a real turn.)

Speaking of Julio, he’s in Cecille’s room ready
to romance la ramera ésa with her favorite morning after sweet –ahem, sweets
for the tart….. He is offering himself
once again to her in hopes of forgetting Isabela. Take him home? He’s strayed and he’s tired of following a path
with no future. (Hey, aren’t we all, slugger?) They are once again in each
other’s presence. It must be for a
reason! They loved each other once -- and probably still do? (Well, it wadn’t fate, Big Boy! She made her fate and went lookin’ for you!)
She is not that easily swayed, except for the fact that she admits she’s no
spring chicken and the bloom is almost off her roses at this point in
life. She is angry that he’s still stuck
on some rich bitch “…who married THE OTHER GUY, FOOL!” Well, she can’t afford to be picky at this age……

El Hotel de los Secretos #63, 4/25/16: Opposites
Kitchen, night. Andres calls for Natalia, drunk. She answers him, but she's pissed. As Angela and the rest of the staff peep through the windows, she asks, why are you bothering me? We're just the maids and waiters down here. Go back to your fancy suite with your fancy wife. Andres falls to his knees and begs her forgiveness. She says no, forgive me for thinking a swell guy like you would be interested in a maid who only wanted to give you her love and care, sorry but you rejected me so now you can stay with her.
Angela has seen all of this and tries to comfort Andres, but he rejects her.
Felipe is scowling outside the comisario when Ayala returns from the hotel. Felipe asks to be arrested. It's where he belongs. He can't stand another minute here on the outside.
Andres has made his way to the cantina. Violeta goes to him, asks him to find Gabriel. Cecelia says this isn't a good time to bother DON Andres. Cece tells him he's brave to come here in his condition, and she likes brave men. He says he's a coward. She tells him not to be so hard on himself. He's a good man, not like his jerk friend Julio. Andres says Julio's not a coward, he's deeply in love. He fights for his great love Isabel Alarcon. Cece gets mad and flounces off to sit with her nieces and Melibea.
At the comisario, Ayala wakes Dagoberto to tell him that Felipe escaped while he was asleep. Felipe has to promise not to escape again. Ayala wants to know who helped him escape. Felipe is afraid he'll do something stupid if he's allowed to roam free. But Ayala wants Felipe's help to find Garrido. He can lead them to the real killer of Felipe's father.
Belen finds Andres nearly passed out drunk on the floor in their suite.

El Hotel de los Secretos #62, 4/22/16: "It Is Not In The Stars To Hold Our Destiny But In Ourselves." Try Telling That To The Alarcóns, Shakesy!
At a glance
-- Dr. Vicario is still keeping an eye on injured Diego.
-- Andrés may have discovered that Belén is nothing but a gold-digging ho who has been using him all this time.

A closer look
Teresa asks Isabel to stand by her and start acting like an Alarcón. She wants her daughter to do her part for her family: Grow up, assume her responsibilities, take care of her marriage, have kids, look out for her loved ones. These things are more important than playing detective and rummaging (hurgar) through old secrets, trying to discover Lord knows what. Teresa doesn’t like the fact that Isabel treats her like an enemy. They lock horns over Teresa’s prior knowledge of the truth about Andrés and for her attempts to impede the investigation into Rómulo’s death. In the end, Teresa tells Isabel to go ahead and look for “the truth” she is so eager to discover, but if that truth breaks her heart, she’d better not come crying to Mommy because Mommy will have no consolation for her.

El Hotel de los Secretos #61, 4/21/16: Diego Survives But Unintentionally Gives up a Secret
Diego is back at the hotel and he is being cared for by doctor Vacairo and Matilde. Isabel, his wife who wants to become a doctor just stands there and stares. I'm scared for her future patients.
It looks like he might survive the attack which they determine was caused by a knife, the conclusion seems to be that he was another victim of the GKK, Diego is only at risk now if he gets an infection, everyone leaves and Isabel stays with her husband. Diego is running a high fever and confuses his wife with his dead father is law (who that's possible I'll never know but let's roll with it).
In his state Diego says the following:
Diego (confusing Isabel for her father): "I was surprised you haven't come by sooner to visit me, what did you come here for, to see me die? You've been waiting impatiently for my time to come, right? {In reaction to the way Isabel is looking at him} If I'm dying it's thanks to you"
Isabel: "You are not going to die, you just need to rest"
Diego: "You and I are never ever going to rest in peace, Isabel is smart and our fingerprints all over the place, she'll figure it out what I've done, but she'll finally, finally figure out what you are."- he keeps repeating that line over and over again.

El Hotel de los Secretos #60, 4/20/16: Diego Plays Hero, But Ends Up the Victim of the GKK
Olegario gives Elisa an offer she is certainly not going to
refuse—lots and lots of Harriet Tubmans, in exchange for her securing him the
hotel shares of her “grandson.” He’s working on keeping Belen out of the way
and securing Andres’ shares of the hotel. The reason? There’s black gold, aka
OIL, underneath the hotel, and he and his gringo investors want to tear down
the hotel to get at it.
Over breakfast, Ole assures Belen and Andres that he is no
murderer and Ayala has no reason to suspect him. Belen has a hard time believing
Felipe is a murderer either. Andres slips his leash and goes to serve himself
some coffee that’s nearby, but everyone jumps in to say that’s not his place
and tries to make him accept being served. He gets frustrated with all of this,
and with Ole and Belen. He thought they were trying to get the baby back, but Ole
seems more concerned about the inheritance/money! He leaves the table. Belen
tells Ole that she agrees with Andres about getting the baby back, ASAP.

El Hotel de los Secretos #58, 4/18/16: At last, we have a winner.
Julio tells Isabel the truth about Cecilia. She helped him out when he was hiding from the police. He owes her everything. She came for him, and he's going to leave with her - but not until he helps Isabel find what she's been looking for.
"Then, I'll have no more reason to stay here... right?"
"Right," Isabel replies.
And it seems that she means it, because in the morning, she makes nice with Diego. She apologizes that this marriage hasn't been what he expected, nor has she been the wife that he expected. Diego is gracious about it, but Isabel admits that she's kept secrets from him. He admits that he's kept secrets from her too. They agree to start over.
But she's full of baloney, because when he goes into the bathroom, she transfers something (I can't see what) from under her pillow to the drawer in her night-table.

El Hotel do los Secretos #57, 4/15/16: Let's make a deal, A hotel for the baby
Before I begin, I want to point out something that’s been bugging me since Thursday’s episode. Andres asked Julio and Isabel if they already knew that he was Romulo’s son, and both replied that they did, and that made him mad because they kept that secret from him. But Belen also knew, and for a much longer time than they did, since way back when Cristina died, and then she wanted to marry him, but she gets a pass about knowing and not telling him. Hmmmm.
Ok, here we begin. Andres and Belen get married in the church, while Ayala is investigating where the arsenic came from. But the druggist’s brother, who we suspect is a bit of a psycho, has tied Ayala and Dagoberto up and is holding them at gunpoint, angry that they are asking questions. But the gunman’s brother shows up and demands that he put his pistol down, and is very sorry when he learns that they are detectives.

El Hotel de los Secretos #56, 4/14/16: Some people are just bad eggs
Oh my cheesus, what an episode! Enjoy the recap patio peeps!
Andres shocks everyone by telling them that he is an Alarcon, the whole scene is awesome with Teresa coming *this close* to fainting, Andres makes his exit after telling everyone to keep their miserable lives, and making it clear he wants nothing from them. Teresa tries to cover everything up by telling the guests that Andres is a disgruntled employee and in order to apologize for the scene he caused she gives all the guests free booze and for those that stay the night a free breakfast in the morning. Then she takes her leave.
Once in her room the doctor tells her that her blood pressure is too low but before he can treat her her beloved (hahahah, no) brother in law comes in and throws it down. It seems that years ago he had a plot to take over the hotel (and sell the land?), Teresa discovered this and told her husband because in her own words she really could not keep a secret so big from her own husband, her hateful BIL comes back with "oh yes, because Romulo never kept any secrets from you"- this guy is an ass and I don't like him at ALL, not because I like Teresa but because this jackass is using Andres's love for Belen to try and steal the hotel. I hope they all get scurvy and die!

El Hotel de los Secretos #53, 4/11/16: You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
Benjamin is listening at the door as Lupe tells Ayala he heard Angela and Romulo arguing, not long before Romulo's death. "I'm not going to let you do this! Over my dead body, or over yours," Lupe remembers hearing Angela declare.
Lupe recalls hearing Angela say she wouldn't let Romulo destroy their (her and Andres) life. Romulo said he was going to use "that document" and that his lawyer has a copy: "Andres is my son."
Angela was incredulous: Sure, TWENTY YEARS LATER the guy wants to recognize his son. Right. "You should have thought of that before," she told him. She vowed to do "anything" to protect Andres.
Lupe is devastated to have incriminated Angela in this manner. Later, Angela sees Ayala march Lupe past her office, and nearly hyperventilates.
Benjamin approaches Angela to warn her. He's known her for thirty years, and Lupe has betrayed her. Angela stiffens; she doesn't want to hear about Lupe's and Benjamin's "primate war." "But Lupe was talking about you and Romulo," Benjamin says.

El Hotel de los Secretos #51, 4/7/16 and #52, 4/8/16: Death by poisoning
Since we are missing Thursday's recap, I took the time to do some bulletpoints from the show.
Highlights from Thursday’s episode:
*Despite Teresa’s objection, Isabel goes through with the exhumation of Romulo’s cadaver.
*Sofia is at an abby that treats people with mental illnesses.
*Genaro is fighting with Ayala in front of all the prostitutes about the testing of the women for venereal diseases. He thinks it’s unnecessary, he attacks Cecilia, but she is defended by Jorge, which is amazing since we now know she’s a woman, and her name is Manuela.
*Alfredo comes back to the hotel.
*Genaro is ailing, most likely he has venereal disease.
*Romulo’s remains are being examined by Ayala and Matilde. Surprised that they buried him naked since there doesn’t seem to be any clothing on his bones, lol.
*Judge Bareda orders the end to the investigation of Anastasio Tagle, because Teresa wanted to protect Filipe.
*Angela gives Lupe his money back, Julio watches her.
*Diego sweet talks Isabel into trusting him about why she wants to have Romulo’s bones examined. He says he stands behind her in desire to investigate Romulo’s death.
*Sofia makes a friend at the treatment center, Luisa.
*We learn that at least one of Manuela’s band members knows she’s a woman, and he calls her hermanita.
*Andres asks Natalia out.
*Isabel and Julio have an argument about trusting Diego, Julio doesn’t want her to.
*Julio watches Angela reach for a bag that is hidden under the edge of a bridge in front of a grotto of a religious statue. She looks in it and puts it back. She leaves and Julio retrieves the bag and puts it under his mattress. We don’t get to see what it is.
*Julio has hidden the letters that he got from Romulo’s secret room under his mattress.
*Teresa and Judge Bareda put a halt to Ayala’s examination of Romulo.

El Hotel de los Secretos #50, 4/6/16: The Party is Over
This is your substitute reporter for Hotel this evening. Ay Caray, so much happened yesterday, I hope tonight is a little quieter. I mean, gunshots, problems with the electric lights. My nerves just can't take it (Anita fans self). I didn't even think the canapes and the hors d'oeuvres were that good at the party. It was too hot and too many overdressed people. No wonder Cece and Diego went out for some fresh air. And to top it off, the guest of honor never showed up, nor any of the Alarcon progeny. It was very insulting.
BREAKING NEWS: The party was a bust. The Lady in Red appeared at the last moment. The missing Anastasio Tagle has been found, dead in a church pew. Investigation is just beginning. Matilde loses a special patient, the One-Armed Pablo succumbs to his bleeding mid-section. Ayala comforts her with a philosophical discourse on the cycle of life and death. Sofia disappears in the middle of the night. Diego keeps losing track of his wife. These and other stories will be in tomorrow's edition.

Diego has been searching everywhere for his missing wife. He finds her in Romulo's study with a tall skinny camarero, alone, together, sort of. He quizzes Isabel about this inappropriate situation. Isabel thinks before she speaks. She tells him she was looking for a necklace and thought she might have left it here. She often comes here for solace after her father died. She holds up the necklace (the "Angela" necklace). Diego's original question has not been answered. What is the camarero doing here? Julio has been thinking before he speaks. He tells Diego the senora was locked in and called for help. The room is usually locked during big events (security, dude) and one of the servants may have locked it not knowing the senora was inside.

El Hotel de los Secretos #49, 4/5/16: To Err Is Human; To Be Heir is Andres
Sofia can’t deal with the Big Void in her life; Mama talks her down after admitting she hated Sofia as a child but then learned or realized how much she loved her. Why else had she stayed with her night and day since she went totally bonkers…..(Great minds of Viewerville actually do want to know.) Alfredo gave up on her; she doesn’t deserve him now. If she pulls the trigger, says Mama then Mama will kill herself also.
It was because Sofia had her father’s looks and bearing – Teresa saw his lyin’ eyes and mouth and Teresa’s own humiliations. Sofia was also a very demanding child. She drained everything out of Teresa. Once she was finally able to see Sofia for herself, it was too late; Sofia wasn’t “in there”. Teresa tells her they’ll find the truth together, they’ll find it themselves together. A big mother daughter hug ensues.

El Hotel de los Secretos #48, 4/4/16: Smoke and Bookshelves
It's night-time. The Gold Knife Killer, or a copycat, stabs Angela's husband Pablo. Pablo screams, and Ayala et al come running. Ayala instructs someone to give Pablo first aid. Meanwhile, Ayala searches high and low for the killer, but is felled by a block dropped from above.
Andres and Julio are in their room. Julio again fails to tell Andres anything. What's more, Cecilia is at their door! She wants to talk. Julio takes her outside. She tells him she did Diego. Julio is unimpressed. Cece says Diego knows Isabel wasn't a virgin, and Cece knows that Julio's the guy. She either says that Diego is filled with hell or that being with him was hell... either way, she's got some physical souvenirs from the experience and shows them to Julio: on her lip, on her neck, on her shoulder. "Montejo did this?" Julio asks stupidly. "No, YOU did this to me!" Cece accuses. She says something like, have your fun now while you can, because the longer I have to wait for you the more you'll have to pay. (That sounds insane. Did I get it wrong? Is she really that nutty?)
Isabel braids her hair. Diego calls her to bed. She dutifully approaches. (I guess Cecilia didn't wear him out after all.)
Morning. Benjamin flogs or scourges himself with a wicked-looking cat o' nine tails, luxuriating in every stroke. Is it a routine flogging, or is this a special occasion?

She either says that Diego is filled with hell or that being with him was hell... either way, she's got some physical souvenirs from the experience and shows them to Julio: on her lip, on her neck, on her shoulder. "Montejo did this?" Julio asks stupidly. "No, YOU did this to me!" Cece accuses. She says something like, have your fun now while you can, because the longer I have to wait for you the more you'll have to pay. (That sounds insane. Did I get it wrong? Is she really that nutty?)
Isabel braids her hair. Diego calls her to bed. She dutifully approaches. (I guess Cecilia didn't wear him out after all.)
Morning. Benjamin flogs or scourges himself with a wicked-looking cat o' nine tails, luxuriating in every stroke. Is it a routine flogging, or is this a special occasion?

El Hotel de los Secretos #47, 4/1/16: Yes Sir, That's My Baby! No Sir, Make That A Maybe!
At a glance

A closer look
Alfredo is below stairs looking for Belén, because the other wet nurse did not pass the baby’s language requirements, apparently. Andrés hops out of his room and demands that Alfredo give him back his baby. He spills the entire pot of beans: Doña Teresa snatched this baby from Belén’s arms. Belén is the real mother and Andrés is the real father of the child that Alfredo thinks is his. Well, spank him cross-eyed, Alfredo did not see that coming! He is impactado to the bazillionth power!

El Hotel de los Secretos #46, 3/31/16: El Amor de su Vida
Hey patio peeps, below is a quick recap of last night's action!
We see don Benjamin being a total ten on the creeper scale, I'm starting to think he's our killer!
Angela gets caught:
Angela goes into Romulo's old office in search of the sapphire necklace, her intention is to sell it in order to come up with the money to pay Pablo- who is threatening to tell Andre's the truth about his background. The necklace is not there, but Teresa is and she is not please with Angela, she tells her she is to stay out of the office, Angie apologizes and leaves.
We are then treated to a series of flashbacks that show us a bit of the history between Romulo and Angie, how they met, when she told him she was knocked up and the day he gave her the necklace. It's so sad. Also sad? Romulo was way too hot to be named Romulo.

El Hotel de los Secretos #45, 3/30/16: Sweet Sorrowful Achlys! Has Anybody Not Cried In This Episode?
At a glance
-- Everybody hurts. Everybody cries. Sometimes.
-- Ángela's dead hubby and fake daddy to her Andrés is alive. He has been blackmailing his ex-wife/widow for years.
-- Alfredo demands the title deeds of the lands bequeathed to him in his father's will.
-- Isabel tries to talk to her mother about the necklace she found but she chickens out. She also rejects her husband's sexual advances for the umpteenth time.
-- Dr. Vicario suggests that Sofía be interned in a sanatorium but Teresa gets riled up and throws him out of her room.
-- The fancy hoes bond with the local not-so-fancy hoes at the cantina.
-- Felipe is seized by Jorge Arenas and his gang.
-- Benjamín wears a cilice under his uniform. Say whaaaat?
A closer look
Darkness has befallen the mean streets of San Cristóbal. A weary traveller coughs up tiny chunks of lung as he asks a passerby about a certain Rufino Barragán. However, it appears that Rufino went to a better place or, to be more accurate, he was sent there (lo pasaron a mejor vida). The stranger explains to the passerby that, before getting dispatched to the Big San Cristóbal in the sky, Rufino Barragán used to deliver some letters on his behalf to the head housekeeper of the Gran Hotel, Doña Ángela Gómez. Rufino was paid handsomely for his services but now that he is, ahem, unavailable, coughing stranger will have to find himself a new courier. *Hint hint*

El Hotel de los Secretos #44, 3/29/16: Hidden Charms
· Belen bumps into Diego on the way to the police station and gets waylaid. He forces her to watch the Double’s informal burial on the side of the road. Belen blubbers as Garrido digs. Diego shoots Garrido dead and blames Belen as the devil what made him do it. He then tells her to start running and essentially not to stop till she’s far, far away.
· Andres, pigheadedly insists Belen will magically appear again. He persuades Natalia to fetch the town padre. He has the priest, Mama Angela, Julio and Natalia there for the supposed wedding. Our stubborn stand-up guy gets stood up. Belen doesn’t return and nobody knows where she’s gone, tho’ Angie does suspect at least one reason why she split. (Good riddance to ungrateful, money-grubbing garbage! Viewerville has the feeling, though, that like flies to feces, she won't be able to resist the temptation to return for Andres and to get hitched and thus lay claim to his inheritance once again.)
