Juan Q 8/7 - Juan flashes, Kike says Yadi likes flashy, and CL wishes Moni's idea is just a flash in the pan

And, cachi cachi bon bon. Ana makes excited eyes after Juan rips off his towel and moves to her canvas where it appears that she nervously tries to figure out where to start her masterpiece.

Enrique tells Nid they should go to the studio to chat because the walls have ears. Yadi pops out and wonders where this is going. Kike tells Nid that no one wants to marry someone as poorly decorated as their napkins, he says he’s as frozen as a penguin! Nid tells him not to exaggerate. He says look it’s the truth, that she likes even the floor to shine! He says something about a diamond and that Yadi says if you want to shine well you have to polish up. Nid says, yes, that’s our family, we love the finer things. HA! But she says you have the Consentida. He says it’s worth a little, but what he really wants to do is sell it and buy a nice truck to start in the transporte business and follow Samuel’s footsteps. He says he’d love to give her the life she wants like Fer offers her. He also wants to even educate himself so he’s not such a blockhead.

In the apartment of sin CL is telling Paula how much he loves her. She says she has to go to her Mom and he wants to come so they all can have dinner. They tell each other they don’t want this to end. She tells him how much she needs this to be a sure thing and that depends on him. He promises to come through. They start at it again back to the sheets.

Nid is moved by Enrique’s efforts to win her daughter. She says he has her support, and what he does speaks volumes about him. He says when he comes back with a fat wallet, a new love for him will be born.

During the painting Juan says he’s glad at least with his whole team out in the air that he’s not getting libidinous thoughts. He says the first bitter taste is over and now it’s going down more smoothly for him, he’s even getting bored and getting cramps and says he needs to go pipi. Ana lets him free. The drawing is conveniently well shaded in “that area.”

At dinner the family Cachon is discussing whether or not Juan is or isn’t and sharing their reasons why they think so with each other.

Paula comes home after her tryst Cl wants to go in but she thinks not, and when she enters, she sees Juan as he comes out of the restroom in his towel. He doesn’t first see her. He’s saying how he feels like a fish in water now and she can paint him all she wants and he throws off the towel in front of Paula. She asks her Mom what’s going on here. This scene looked cut funny to me as he must have grabbed it back on again really quickly. Very anti-climactic. Paula tells him he has a nice body and he smiles and goes up to change. While he’s changing he tells himself that he left her in cramps no doubt and he noticed she came alone and that reacted positively and that she’ll never look at him with the same eyes again.

Ana says she only looked at his beautiful body like an Artist and not with any lust. Paula asks how she could look at such a great body without any lust at all. She asks Juan if they owe him anything for his modeling services he says no, and they say well at least dinner, and he says ok. Paula gives him the address where he should pick her up tomorrow. She says Cl helped her find the apt. Juan is impactado.

CL comes home and asks how the prettiest Mom is doing to which she asks if he brought her pharmacy item. In his post love session bliss he forgot his pregnant wife’s medicine. Shame Shame. They continue discussions about his bad head for being a future dad. Cl asks her if she found someone to help her. Yes I did find someone, Ana Davila the Mom of your vice president. CL is impactado. She says she’s going to be a good worker and she was highly recommended. CL wants to know by whom. She stalls. CL questions her about why she contracted Ana. She says that even he told her that she practically managed Samuel’s whole business. He wants to know who recommended her. Ah hah, it was IVONNE!! Moni says don’t say anything because I called her and asked for her help.

Juan can’t stand when the conversation shifts to CL. He gets up to leave. Paula continues telling her mom about the new living arrangement and how wonderful CL is. Mom goes through the motions of agreeing, but never really believes that all these things including the divorce are really going to happen. Finally Ana tells her that she might be getting some work. Paula is excited and Ana tells her she will go to speak with them day after tomorrow.

Cl is awake turning and Moni wonders why if it has to do with Ana. He says no, but argues with her about being stupid to choose her just because of Ivonne’s recommendation.

Juan tells himself he’s still not sure about Paula and CL, and that the only way he’ll know for sure if he asks her again straight out.

Marely tells Juan she ran in to Pastor and that man is jealous and wants to know if there is something between us. He thinks he would love that, but she’s punished until further notice for hating him. He tells her he’s given him no reason to be jealous. She suggests he clear things up then because he seems to think that you are looking at him with eyes of love.

Moni wants to know how her office is coming along. She says she hopes it’s ok if she works here in the meantime. He says working here is great and you’ll get no complaint from me. She says good because Ana is coming tomorrow here. for an interview oh and lovey, why don’t you help me? He says no, and oh he has to go.

Juan shows up at the apt to collect Paula.

Nid and Yadi are chatting about her maybe going back to school but Yadi says you ask the same thing everyday and I answer the same everyday, so maybe she’s losing her memory. Yadi wants to know what Mom has cooking with Enrique. Mom says nothing

Juan is impactado when Paula answers in her bathrobe. She wants to know if he knows anything about plumbing. He says yes, and that soon he’ll have it fixed.Plomeria Como chirriones funciono esa chiva.

Nid spills the beans to Yadi about Enrique’s plan.

Juan is giving himself a peptalk. He wonders if maybe there was a reason she answered in her robe. He says that women love to send signals. He daydreams he is in a smoky bedroom with Paula making out. She wakes him up while he’s kissing the wrench instead. Juan creates a plumbing fountain when he tries to keep up with the charade that he knows what he’s doing. Water goes everywhere.

Nid continues -Don’t you see he thinks you hate him because he’s poor. Y-No I hate him because he’s low class and ugly. Nid asks as if she were the princess of Monaco. Yadi says I will never care for him, even if he becomes a millionaire!

CL marches into the business and commands Ivonne to his office to tell him why she recommended Ana.

Nidia wishes she ahd someone like that who would do anything for her. Yadi says she’s still in love with Fer but thinks he must be hiding something because no one changes so drastically in one day. She vows to find out why.

Juan is discussing with a real plumber and haggling over the price. He doesn’t want the plumber to take advantage of her but he appears to be severely undercutting the real price. He says he did the hard work already, but the plumber says yeah and with that you took out the water of the whole colonia. Paula gives him more than Juan says, she’s not in agreement with Juan.

Cl is back with Ivonne, threatening to let her go after she says she’s not doing anything, just helping his wife. She says she knows too many things so he won’t. He ends up telling he’s not sure what to do but Ana can’t work with Moni. He concocts a plan that she calls and telll Ana that someone else already got the job. Ivo says she can’t call because she didn’t call in the first place.
Juan and Paula are sriving and he thinks he wants to ask her his question, she says it’s ok, but he chickens out and asks her if she’s still mad about the plumbing. She says of course not.

Juan discusses with Fer about the apartment Paula is in now. He says she’s there because she’s renting. Fer laughs. He says fine I’ll be quiet. If you want to believe that’s the truth, fine, just believe it then. Juan thought bubbles that he should listen to this guy because he’s making sense, but he can’t bring himself to do it.

Merely goes into Paula’s office and tells her all the messages. Paula asks how Marely likes the work. She likes it. No prob with Pastor? She says no but rehashes the conversation with him about Juan. Paula wonders if there is more too. She thinks he’s interested in Marely. Marely says he can’t be interested in me because I’m almost sure that Juan is Gay.

Juan wants to clear up some things with Pastor. He tells him he’s causing serious problems. He doesn’t want to be rude but he needs him to listen. He starts yelling, and pastor yells back not for him to yell. Juan continues that things are making him uncomfortable. He says he likes being his friend and things can’t pass that line. Pastor wants him to be more concrete. He says I don’t want to be your, Pastor interrupts and says what makes you think I’m interested in you as a man.

Paula tells Marely that she really thinks Juan likes her, and that he isn’t really gay, but that he might be faking it to keep Pastor of his back. Paula says if he was gay, would he be with someone like Pastor anyway? She tells Marely no Juan likes you, he asked me to help you with getting the job. Paula asks her to tell the truth, does she like Juan?

Pastor tells him he’s wrong and that he’s just like the typical macho. He tells him he doesn’t have bad taste, look in the mirror at yourself, you have no class, no style, etc. Look at your awful hair. Juan says ok, we’ve cleared that up, so see ya. Pastor calls him back, and says not so fast, if you feel so uncomfortable here, then fine, as of today you are out of the office. See ya!

Destilando Amor, Weds 8/8: What does the $#!% hit when there's no fan?

The family worries about the Gaviota-sighting; they decide they're not going to let anything ruin Sofia's big day. Minerva pulls Isa aside and wants to know what's going on with that husband-stealer; Isa says she's going to find out.

Sanwanna offers to pay Rosa for her information about Gaviota, but Rosa is offended and refuses. Sanwanna complains that Gavi's presence has turned loose-lipped Rosa into "some grand thing."

Meanwhile, Gavi flops onto her bed, remembering Isa's sparkly swollen belly. "It can't be, it can't be," she sobs. I remember a happy time when "it can't be" was always followed up with a knowing, "...artificial insemination." Unfortunately, no one's around to hiss those words into Gaviota's ear now.

Rod pleads with the jimadores: he CANNOT increase their wages. A jimadora assures him that Gavi doesn't lie; he's being miserly with their pennies. Rod reminds them he gives the best wages in the region. He also reminds them that some jimas are losing their jobs and looking for work now because farmers are having to burn their crops thanks to the plague.

They say they'll give him till Monday to think about it. Until then, they won't be trimming a single agave. They all file out. Rod asks Roman to please not tell the family about this. If anyone asks, he can say they're on strike, but don't mention that Gavi did this!

In the bedroom, Sanwanna passes on to Isa the information she did get - that Gavi came over on behalf of the CRT to teach the difference between sick agaves and healthy ones. They knew some techs would be coming over, but they didn't know Gavi would be coming with them! Isa is dumbfounded. And really, really mad. "So why was she jimadoring?" Sanwanna describes the contest, and how later Gavi spent the night.

Minerva comes in. Did I mention that I love her dress as usual? She sarcastically thanks Isadora for all the supportive phone calls (which apparently Isadora didn't make). Isa rolls her eyes and says, "Ha, you haven't gotten the story of the drama **I'VE** been living." Minerva is bien impactada to hear that Gavi's working for the CRT!

Clarita shows up at Gavi's room. Drunk. Evidently she needed some liquid courage to better enjoy the plane ride. She offers Gavi the rest of the bottle, but for once in her life Gavi turns down an offer of alcohol, saying she had enough last night. But she is very, very, very happy to see her mom. She ruefully confides that her days with the CRT are probably numbered. For the moment, Clarita is too drunk to do much more than squeak supportively.

Minnie tells Isa she's going to Spain to live with her great-aunt. She's left with no other choice; she had thought she could get Aaron back, but she was wrong. He'll marry Pam next week and she'll want to be as far away as possible.

Isa says she's wanted to stand by Min during these times, but Isa was traveling... Min says she made up the trip to Greece, never even left her apartment, and Isa's the only person who knows. Well... plus Patricio. She was trying to get a rise out of Aaron, but he pthat other woman anyway.

Isa observes that Minerva looks very tan. Min admits she used up two whole tubes of bronzer. And she's sorry she didn't take that singles cruise - she could have met someone. But on second thought, maybe not. She's never had the nerve to meet another man. Now she's paying dearly for the price of love. Aaron traded her in for a healthy womb and a generous bed, and he's very happy.

Isa: At least you've had a chance to travel and get out of this hell.

Min: So how's the pregnancy going? Do you know what it's going to be?

Isa: Rod is hoping for a girl.

Min: A girl? Oh well, I hope you can give him what he wants.

Isa: That's impossible. I'm expecting a boy... the much-anticipated Montalvo heir.

Minerva is impactada yet again. Isa says she had an ultrasound. She asks Minnie to keep the secret and excuses herself. "I need to get dressed for this farce." Alone, Minerva muses to herself that Isadora's son will ruin all of Aaron's plans. She doesn't seem very sure as to whether she likes the idea or not.

Back to Gavi and Clarita. Clarita is sobered up somewhat, drinking coffee. Gavi is describing what happened that morning. She was working the agaves and singing really loud. Rod showed up. That lit up her heart, she was smiling ear-to-ear, but that all congealed when Isa showed up, and all the blood drained into Gavi's feet. Isa is pregnant by Rodrigo. About five months. Aaron was right - Rod is a liar. He claimed he was only able to be with one woman. What a dummy she is.

Clarita has been silent through all of this. Finally she says, "That baby is not his." Clarita's theory is based on something they've both seen many times... in telenovelas.

Gavi thinks it's ridiculous - if Isa had cheated on Rod as Clarita suggests, no way would he have stayed with her IF it were truly true that he'd never been with her himself.

Clarita is really enamored of the idea, however, and reminds Gavi of a particular novela in which the woman got drunk one night with someone and slept with him... he was a NEIGHBOR!

(Please... give me a break. I say this with all due respect.)

"This isn't a telenovela, Mama. It's real life. It's MY real life!"

Clarita insists - it is not Rodrigo's child. "Or my name's not Clarita Hernandez."

Later, Gavi talks about how she watched Rodrigo from the garden. He looked sad. She fancied he was thinking about his Gaviota. Then she drank some more, next day started singing... Clarita says, well, probably everybody heard and recognized her voice. Gavi then admits that she turned all the jimadores against Rod. She took one look at that pregnant belly and couldn't control herself. Right then and there they went on strike! Now she's very, very concerned about what will happen when the Montalvos tell her boss what she did.

Gavi goes back to bed and tells Clarita she should probably go back to the CRT, put her head on her boss's desk, and then fall off the face of the earth. But maybe it'd be better if she finishes her work there first. She'll do it well, and then if they fire her, at least she'll have her dignity.

Back at Montalveña, Dani gently rebukes Rodrigo for not having told Gavi about the pregnancy. (Dani DID warn him about this last week!) He wonders why Gaviota came back. He tells Dani about the strike. He'd been hoping to go back to the city soon, but now he's stuck. He's got to meet with the jimadores and Monday and do whatever's necessary to take care of his father's organic agave crop.

With family like these, is a Bridezilla redundant?

The day is intermittently sunny. The chairs are set up in tidy rows. Altar boys steal treats off the buffet table. The area slowly fills with guests. Pilar notices that James is wearing a suit that's too big for him. He admits that he couldn't go back to the ranch for his clothes. (Wuss.) Patricio asks after Acacia. James admits they're "fighting" and jokes "now you know why I'm dressed like this."

Elvis is taking photos. He gets one of Pilar and James together on a loveseat. Elvis tries to get suddenly-grumpy Pilar to smile. "It's not for me, it's for the camera," he teases. Patricio says "smile, or we'll be posing here all afternoon." She obliges. "Nobody will believe that I took this photo," Elvis laughs.

Elvis then switches seats with James and puts his arm around Pilar. "One last smile, Abuelita." He tells her to imagine that he just told her that he's moving to Africa and she'll never see him again. She musters up a smile for that one! "I'll go with Daniela," is Elvis's punchline. Pilar pulls away impatiently. (For some reason, the audio was missing when Elvis said "Africa." It was like when they want to bleep a word without drawing attention to it by making an actual bleep sound. Did anyone else notice this?)

Francisco's hired parents show up. So does Estefano, the guy who owns the apartment Frankie's been squatting in. He complains about having to pay Frankie's faux parents, on top of all the other expenses he's covered for Frankie. "Think of it as an investment," Frankie tells him.

Everyone is impressed with the fake de la Vegas, Maximiliano and Josephene. She might be Spanish. Pilar is charmed. James introduces himself as a "friend of the family"; Frankie somewhat rudely points out that he's Sofia's ex. (Isa's holding her belly up again, and I can see why; she's wearing a mostly-backless dress, which means less support for her baby bump.) Elvis introduces himself as a painter, sculptor, and "dark spot" of the family.

Isa, Minerva, and Pilar sit with their drinks. Isa breaks the news to Pilar that Gavi is there because she's gotten a job with the CRT and they're going to be inspecting their crops. She wants to go tell Rod. Min dissuades her, saying he'll just go looking for Gavi again. (Meanwhile, Rod is debating with Dani whether someone will warn the family that Gavi's working for the CRT. Dani thinks not, because it's only the family plus Sofie's friends who are there today.)

With perfect timing, Gelasio Barrales comes. He's the head of the agave growers' syndicate, and he just might be a Scorpio. (Or perhaps it's more likely that scorpions are a popular motif on embroidered jackets?) He tells Pilar that Don Amador would be proud of this shindig. He wants to talk about agave stuff. Isa intercepts him and asks about Mariana Franco. Rod tries to drag him away, but he turns to Isa and says "Oh yes, I know Mariana Franco very well." It's the perfect moment for a commercial break!

Gelasio explains Gavi's job function to Isadora. "And who was asking?" Rod answers, looking at Isa. "What's it to you?" he asks her. He explains to Gelasio that his family very well knows who Mariana is.

Elvis takes a photo of Dani, who's happy. He takes a photo of Rod, Minerva, and Isa, who are flustered and distracted. "Don't everyone smile at once," he quips cheerfully. Sometimes I wonder if Elvis is some kind of happiness-machine. Dani warns him that unless he'd like to photograph a massacre, he'd better go away. Rod argues with Min and Isa (mostly Min) about Gavi. "It's the end of your game," he declares. He won't let them commit the same crime twice. Dani grins with satisfaction.

(Back at the hotel, Gavi remembers Rod protesting "you can't do this to me" as she lectured all the jimadores on what a tightfisted cheat he is.)

Rod lectures his wife and his XSIL about what they did to Gavi. Isa feigns ignorance, so he lists every specific sin that they committed against Gavi. James, Pat, and Lluvia look on in bewilderment. Varying degrees of regret, guilt, shame, and horror spread over everyone else's faces - everyone's except Isa's and Min's, of course. Pilar is week in the knees. Isa demands to know how he's been playing her. Rod explains to his loving, loyal wife how he finally helped hook Gavi up with a letter of recommendation so she could get a job.

Dani carefully explains to Pilar that Gavi was desperate and needed help. That's why she told Rodrigo the truth, and why he helped her. "It was the least he could do."

Rod takes Isa aside and says "if I were fooling around with Gaviota, do you really think I'd do it here? We're finished, forever."

"Why didn't you tell me before," Isa whines. She's got some nerve. Min accuses Rod of trying to "protect" Gavi. He tells her that people like Gavi NEED protection "from people like you." Offended, Isa storms off. Min glares at Rodrigo, nose-to-nose. She tries to guilt Rodrigo for upsetting Isa. He says he's got more to say.

Pilar begs them to stop, but Min admits that Rodrigo is right - she is no longer of any importance to this family. She tries to stomp off in a self-righteous, self-pitying, faux snit, but just then, Fedra and Aaron show up. Dani greets them in a sarcastic tone, "Great timing, cousin!" (I love her, she's such a brat!) Aaron tells Min she looks spectacular, and that her travels have clearly done her some good.

There are times when it's appropriate to make a wisecrack, and there are times when it's best not to go for the cheap shot. So I'll just remind you that Minerva put on her very best panties for him this morning, and I'll leave it at that.

"I wish I could say the same for you," Minnie answers smugly. "You look fatal" (this isn't a compliment - it means something like "you look like death warmed over"). Laughing with barely-concealed contempt, Aaron approaches Rodrigo for a fist-bump and/or hug, but Rod brusquely pushes him away.

(Gavi is watching the Rodrigo channel inside her head. It looks like the Christmas Eve party. "You are a creep, Rodrigo. You always have been. You don't deserve any of my tears.")

Aaron scolds Rodrigo for not being nicer to him for coming over from Miami for the wedding. Fedra complains of his coldness as he brushes off her hug. Rodrigo makes increasingly sarcastic, snide remarks to Aaron. The mention of "Mariana Franco" hits the other Montalvos like a ton of bricks, and the air around them quickly becomes thick with tension. "Please - we joined you here to celebrate your sister's wedding!" Fedra protests in her most innocent-sounding voice. Pilar begs Rodrigo to stop, but Rod says her tears won't work this time. It's too late.

He accuses the rival Montalvos of trying to ruin the family and the company. Bruno, for one, is mystified by these references. Rodrigo tells him about Fedra's and Minerva's phone calls to all the other tequila companies, trying to blackball Gaviota, saying she'd stolen money from the company.

Patricio approaches to say that the priest is ready to begin. Rodrigo says nobody's going anywhere until he's finished.

(From a distance, Frankie points out Aaron to his fake parents and his reluctant roommate. He explains to them that the Montalvos are two families, but they're very closely knit. Watching the spectacle, Estefano says it looks like they're having a very intense conversation/argument. Frankie conjectures that they may be having some conflict, but they still love each other very much.)

Back to the family reunion - Patricio wants to know what's going on. "Ah, it's Patricio the Silent." He says Patricio was in on the tricks against Gaviota too. Patricio is dumbfounded, and Fedra jumps to his defense. "Leave my nephew out of this." Patricio simply says that Sofia's waiting. "Don't worry, what I still have to say won't take much time," Rodrigo says coolly. Aaron tries to shame Rodrigo for choosing this time to discuss such a worn-out subject.

"I'll sum it up in three words," Rodrigo says to Aaron's sunglasses. "Gaviota came back."

Reaction shots: Aaron is impactado. Pilar wrings her hands and her mouth is stretched in a grimace. Dani struggles to limit her smile to a mere grin. Bruno touches his face as if it's getting hot.

In short, it's the kind of tension that can only be relieved with another commercial break.

Rodrigo tells Aaron he knows that the millions of pesos that were supposedly given to Gaviota actually ended up in Oñate's wallet, as payment for unmasking Mariana Franco. He took away her severance, threw her into the street, gave away her car - the work of a cheap thief.

Fedra interrupts again, Rod says he's just saying what Aaron deserves. Not only did he throw her into the street, he also let Fedra and Minerva sabotage Gavi's reputation to make sure she would starve to death.

"You're hurting us, Rodrigo!" Fedra whines. (Pilar looks around anxiously - I bet she'd welcome an interruption from Elvis right about now.) "You know what you did, don't deny it," Rod answers. "Classy people do not act this way. Where'd you dump your class, Fedra?"

Aaron attacks Rodrigo like lighting, but Rod is easily able to hold off his attack. Dani and Pilar yell at them to stop. Bruno is standing right there, almost as if he wants to split them up, but doesn't quite make a move. "You don't have any right to protest," Rodrigo hisses at Aaron. "Get your filthy piggy hands out of my life and Gaviota's. You act like a coward, you are a creep to have said you slept with her, a creep." With that, he shoves Aaron staggering backwards into some out-of-frame chairs.

Minerva picks this exact moment to retry that grand, dramatic, silent exit she'd been planning. Aaron calls weakly after her, but it is Bruno who follows her. Embarrassed, Aaron simply fiddles with his sunglasses.

Sofia comes over to investigate. (Again, I guess in Mexico they don't have that superstition about letting the groom see the bride in her dress before the wedding.) Aaron complains about Rodrigo's uncivil behavior. "Why are you doing this to me, Rodrigo?!" Sofia complains. "You just want to ruin my wedding, don't you!" She takes off.

By now, Frankie has come over to investigate too. Rod tells him to go find Sofia and reassure her that nobody's going to ruin her wedding today. (That's nice of Rod. I agree that Sofia should have ONE day of marital bliss. Bwahahahaha.)

The priest comes over, wanting to know when they're going to start. Dani asks for a few more minutes because "it seems Sofia's not feeling well at all." Pilar seems grateful for the tactful lie. Aaron consoles Fedra with a hug.

"You look calmer," Clarita tells Gaviota at an outdoor cafe. "That's because you're with me," Gavi answers. Demitri joins them, and Gavi introduces her mother. (Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? Clarita and Demitri? No? Is it just me?) Gavi explains that her mother was a jimadora too. D wants an update on Montalveña. Before Gavi can answer, Clarita quickly explains that Gavi explained all about the little agave bugs ("bicharacos," so there's that "bich" root as in "bichi") and the jimadores were all very happy to hear it. She adds that her daughter doesn't like to brag (literally "throw flowers at herself").

Gavi asks Demitri if he's spoken with Avellaneda (head of the CRT) yet. Nope. She was just wondering if he needed anything special. D says no, but there's a problem - he tells her about those tonics and remedies those crooks have been selling in town. Gavi is angry that tricksters are ripping off the farmers' money with this stuff. D says something about people thinking the pests are a form of divine punishment that can only be cured by incantations and potions, etc. Gavi shares his concern, and I suddenly feel as though I'm in the middle of an anti-potion PSA.

Don't use potions, kids! They don't work and they can be dangerous. You're welcome.

Anyway, they need to be able to complete their inspections. Gavi is eager to help, so Demitri tells her to accompany the field tech.

Back to the hacienda! Minerva asks Sanwanna to pack her bags and get someone to take her to the airport. Isa finds her and asks how the conversation ended. (Ha - I had forgotten that Isa took off before it got really interesting!)

"Your husband turned a wedding into a funeral, just to defend his precious migrant worker. You can't even imagine what-all he said!" Naturally, Isa wants to hear the whole thing, but Min says no, she doesn't want to make Isa miscarry! "No, wait, I'll go with you, I've got absolutely no reason to be in this house." Minerva says, "Let's go!"

They make for the exit, but Bruno intercepts them. "You're not going anywhere." Minnie says she's not a member of this family anymore, she's not welcome, the accusations of Rodrigo, the sins of Aaron, etc. etc... "You're still a Montalvo," Bruno soothes, and leads her to the sofa. "You can't leave like this." Min says she's made her decision. Bruno tells the women to put their hands in/on Sofia's heart (it's an icky image, but a common saying meaning "show her some compassion") and have some consideration for Pilar.

He asks Isa if she would really be capable of doing something like this to Sofia. He expresses disappointment at Minerva's attitude and says okay, you can't even look at my son, you can't stand Rodrigo... but at least stay for me. She agrees.

Outside, James is telling Rodrigo to control himself, or they'll all end up in the neighborhood jail (something like that). (Hey, James, I've got an idea - if the intensity of all this is too much for you, maybe you should just run away, since that's how you deal with your problems.) Rodrigo complains about how long he's had to "maintain" a smile in front of those people. He talks about how much he'd love to break Aaron's face, and wring Fedra's and Minerva's necks. And how awful it's been to think that Bruno, Granny, and Sofia all participated in that damn lie. (James is surprised.) They knew everything, and they hid it!

Thursday

Isadora spells it all out for Frankie in tiny words that he can understand. Comprehension slowly dawns.
Rodrigo does a cool wrist-lock on Aaron, then later leads Sofia down the aisle to her doom.

Amar Sin Limites #15 Tuesday 8/7/07

Tuesday episode opens with a talk between Leo and Andres, where he's complaining about how since the accident, he has to do all of Mo's dirty work. Leo tells him that Mo is their boss, the "owner of their lives." He says that it's costing him more and more. She responds that she's his only family, and if something happens to him, it will kill her. Creepy, creepy, creepy.

Next we see Andres and Mo, where Andres tells Mo that he knows who tried to kill him!

Diego and Morticia: She's saying that she has no right to kill anyone. She's not a murderer. She's glad that he stopped her from killing Mo. She claims that she doesn't remember where the gun is when he asks her for it.

Mo is on the phone with Benjamin (the scientist he fired so that he could hire GSD), who tells him that "Acosta" is the one who tried to kill him because Mo owes him money. Mo hangs up looking impactado and tells Andres what Ben said, but that he's not sure he believes it. Andres says that Ben wouldn't lie about something like that. He tells Andres to investigate.

Piero y Lidia: Lidia tells Piero that things are really bad with her and Paco and she can't concentrate. He offers to help, and she thanks him and walk out. He looks as confused as I am at her response.

Morticia's writing a letter to Diego, which will express all that she feels...

Gloria's talking to Diego on the phone. Apparently she's traveling again and she wants to know how Silvana's doing and where she is. He tells her that Silvana has gone back to the clinic.

Creepy Leo is carrying a coffeepot and cups and is interrupted by Azul, who wants to know where she's going. (The weird thing is that Leo is carrying a full coffee pot AND the machine. If she was going to set up the coffee machine anyway, why wouldn't she prepare the coffee after it's set up?) There's a mild stand off between the ladies here - Azul tells her that the old system isn't working and they need to change. Leo says that she knows, but it's what they asked for. Azul tells her just to do it, and Leo takes the coffee supplies back to the kitchen. I'm a little confused on what just happened, but I've only read the recaps the last few days so maybe I missed something.

Leo returns to the kitchen looking furiosa, where Andres is on the phone and wants to know what's happened. She throws a glass to the floor and says she will not talk to her that way - even if she's Mo's woman! She's sure that Azul hates her. Andres tells her to calm down, Mo knows that he job is important.

Diego's moma is looking at some lovely red roses when Lidia enters. Mama tells Lidia that they're from Paco. Lidia growls that he's a son of a... she hates him and if he think this will fix things.... (well, well, it looks like what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander in Lidia's world!) Mama's still staring at the flowers and smiling to herself as Lidia storms out. You can just read her mind "oh - those crazy kids. They don't even know what they're fighting about."

Diego is at the police station signing his statement, when Mo approaches him and says that now at least he will know what his name is. Diego responds that yes, he will know, and excuses himself.

Inez is playing the cello when Arnaldo arrives and says they need to go. Suddenly her playing takes a turn for the worse and he asks her what's wrong - is she nervous about seeing the ex love who hurt her so badly? She reminds him that he's the only one who knows about that, and he should keep it to himself. He asks if he should be quiet because there's someone else, but she goes back to playing without responding.

At the lab: GSD, Azul, and Mo are chatting - Mo asks if GSD has heard about the engagement, and GSD congratulates him in response. Andres enters and asks to talk to Mo in private.

Andres tells Mo that Diego is clean, which is the impression that Mo had. Now they must look at Acosta.

Casa de Azul y Ceci: Ceci is chatting with Arnaldo about his travels. He likes to travel, but it has pros and cons, it leaves pieces of your heart all over the place. She asks if he left a piece of it in Brazil, and he admits that he did. Azul arrives and sees how chummy they are and asks if they have something to tell her.

Back to the mansion, where impending doom music tells us something's about to go down: Leo enters the room where Andres is. He asks if she's feeling better and she says yes. He says that he doesn't want her to be worried, he doesn't like it when she worries. She removes a gold necklace and tells him to take it, he says that he's only going to talk to Acosta, and she says that it's not going to be a good day. He should take it. Apparently it's a good luck charm of sorts. Or maybe it has a secret poison inside of it that he can use in case of emergency! How very Inspector Gadget!

Inez y Alfredo: She tells him that Arnaldo heard him practice and says that it sounded good. They've always had a good relationship. He sounds annoyed that she was with Inez, and Inez wants to know why she can't have a relationship with her nephew or to be in a relationship. He doesn't have much to say to this, which seriously pushes her buttons. She tells him that she wants to be alone - she doesn't want his look or his presence. She wants to be alone.

Paco's working at Isela's fun house when Lidia arries. He looks nervous cute as he offers her a seat, or something to drink. Did she receive his flowers? She looks at the floor in response, and he apologizes. She wants to know the name of the tart he slept with.

Emilia and Diego are chatting about Silvana. Emilia gives Diego the address of the clinic where Silvana will be staying, and goes to leave. Silvana enters just as he's leaving and asks how he is. He says that he made his statement, signed it, and left. Don't worry, nobody will suspect a thing! He tells her that Mo was there and he feels in debt to Diego for saving his life. She hands him the note that she's written - it's easier for her to express herself in writing that with speech. He should read it alone later.

Mo's standing outside a locked gate and rings a bell to have the gate opened. A man opens the door and Mo greets him with "Acosta" so we know it's about to get ugly. Just as Acosta opens the gate, Andres appears out of nowhere followed by 2 other suits who push Acosta back into the house. Mo follows and shuts the gate behind him. Acosta's scared, and he should be. Mo is whispering to him - telling him that he's stupid and he knows that he had something to do with what happened yesterday. Acosta tells him that although he stole the formula he worked on for years, he didn't do it, and he's not afraid of Mo or his thugs.

Diego goes to his room to read the note. She tells him that she's not sure if what she feels for him is love, but there's a light that emanates from his body, his look, and his words that makes her feel secure...

Meanwhile, Mo's boys have opened a 6 pack o' kick butt on poor Acosta. Andres and Mo aren't dirtying their hands for this, they're just standing back and watching. Andres tells him not to be an idiot, he shoudl talk. Acosta doesn't know whay he's been accused. Acosta pulls a gun, but Andres is too quick to be taken down by this poor sap. He pulls his own gun and shoots Acosta. Mo is impactado. Commercial break.

After the commercial, we return to Diego's room where he's still reading Silvana's letter... she says that he's the reason that she didn't kill Mo. He's shown her how beautiful life is.

Caty and Leo are in the kitchen when Mo comes home. Caty comes running to greet him and he shouts at her not to touch him - he's dirty. Leo pulls her away and says that daddy's dirty and will bathe before he kisses her so that he won't get her all dirty. This whole scene is weird, but that's to be expected when Leo's involved.

Diego's drinking beer with Papa to get over the love letter he's received. Diego wants to talk about whether people can change, but Papa doesn't think so. He thinks Diego will never grow up and would prefer to rely on his parents. Diego lets this roll off his back, and mentions that he wants to look for someone with money who can help him start a business. Uh oh... this doesn't bode well. Sounds like banco de Mauricio is going to be hit up for a loan! I digress. Papa tells Diego to stop talking crazy, and Diego tells him to stop being bitter.

Next we see Ceci sucking on a lime. This crazy girl is alwasys drunk! She's with Azul and Arnaldo, and Azul is telling her that they need to find Ceci a prince charming (Principe Azul). They're drinking shots of tequila and gettin' their dance on...

Meanwhile Andres is telling Leo about how how stupid Acosta was and that he didn't want to kill anyone. He's had enough of Mauricio and his messes! She tells him the man is not his problem anymore as she strokes his head. He says that he killed a man for Mo, and he could go to jail. She falls to her knees and takes his head in her hands saying "Don't say that!"

Poppet alert: A nanny is reading a story to Caty when Caty interrupts her and asks in a whiny little voice if she thinks that her dad loves her mommy. Nanny says that she doesn't know, she didn't have the pleasure of meeting her mommy. Poppet says that she was a beautiful blonde with big eyes like a princess. And her mama was scared of her daddy, who used to scream ugly things at her. Poppet says that she knows that her daddy loves her, but sometimes he scares her. Nanny says that papa is a strong character, but very good. Poppet responds that sometimes she has ugly dreams and she wakes up crying. Nanny says that she should think of nice things, like her dollies, or Azul, who loves her very much.

Ceci & Azul's house: The girls are in bed chatting about what happened to Mo. How scary it was for someone to try to kill him! Ceci says that he needs to be careful, but not paranoid. It's probably just some crazy person trying to get attention.

Leo is serving breakfast to Mo when Andres enters and updates him on the coverup of Acosta's murder. They've made is look like a robbery gone bad, he was attacked trying to defend himself. Mo is unhappy that another death has happened so close to him - first the accident, now this. He makes it sound like he didn't orchestrate these events! Leo tells him not to worry, he can count on her and Andres. Nobody will know.

In the morning, Ceci and Azul have serious hangovers. Ceci's still in bed talking about how tired she is, and Azul is complaining of a headache as she washes down aspirin with a big bottle of water. Apparently Arnaldo was snoring (ronca). Azul stares off and Ceci asks her what she was thinking about - or who - probably Diego. Azul tries to say she wasn't thinking of anyone. Ceci says she's going back to sleep for a while.

Azul and Diego's theme song plays as we're transported to Diego's bedroom, where he's laying in bed without a shirt on. Back to a close up of Azul's eyes. Back to Diego's chest. Then we get a series of flashbacks of their relationship, mixed in with close ups of her eyes and Diego's chest. She smiles wistfully, he looks saddened, then we see Morticia in the clinic looking sad.

Glora has brought Morticia a dessert, but Morticia's not feeling well. Gloria's surprised to hear that, considering that she looks beautiful, and her eyes are shining. She's sure that she's hungry, which is why she brought her cinnamon rolls that she likes so much. Silvana reminds her that she hates cinnamon rolls (who hates cinnamon rolls? That's crazy talk!). Gloria says "oh silly, me. I forgot. I'll take them back because I love them." This Gloria is just the perfect little doting mama, isn't she? Her trip was wonderful, but she only went because she absolutely had to. Silvana is the most important person in her life. She proposes that they go ice skating... Silvana looks at her like she's the one who should be at a clinic.

Fiera alert! Lidia knows who slept with Paco and she's out for blood! She storms into Men's Wearhouse saying "You're the tart who slept with my boyfriend!" Perla is impactada. Perla recovers and tells Lidia that she likes Paco and he likes her, and the cat fight is on! Luckily there are plenty of men to break up the fight before it actually starts. Diego and abuelo grab Lidia and abuelo lets her know that she's in for a good talking to. They have things to discuss, and somebody needs to "meta en cintura" which literally means to put in waist, but apparently it's a slang term for strong discipline. They send Lidia home and now they have to face their boss, who wants an explanation. Diego apologizes and says that he didn't know that Lidia had an issue with Perla. Abuelo apologizes for Lidia, but the jefe isn't listening. There's another guy standing by who defends Diego and his abuelo, saying that it's none of the employee's faults. The man tells jefe that it's best to leave things as they are, and not to make it bigger than what it is. He would like them to measure him for a suit, so Diego introduces him to his abuelo, who's the best tailor. Jefe tells Diego that his sister better not come back, or any other family members for that matter.

Next Diego hears it from Perla, who tells him that his sister is stupid. Pobre Diego is speechless, and we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, Gloria is telling Morticia that she's strong, even though everyone said that she was as fragile as an iris. But she was always mature, even as a child. Morticia had to be mature, she had no choice, because her mom was a flake. Gloria seems to thing that if Morticia wears bright colors all will be well.

Diego sells a suit to the guy who defended him to his jefe, and sends him on his way. As the man leaves, Mo enters. Diego ask him what's brought him here, does he need some clothes? Mo says no, he's brought him a check for saving his life. They bicker over whether Diego will take it, and Diego ends up refusing. Mo says that if he won't take it, at least he would like to get to know Diego better. Next we see them sharing some drinks. They talk about the importance of being a responsible worker, and what a great salesman Diego is, and about Mo's near death experience, and how Mo lost his wife in an accident. Mo asks Diego about his dreams, and Diego is vague when he says that he has some, and has an idea of how to realize them. Mo likes that he's ambitious. His cell phone rings and of course it's Azul. He greets her as "amor" so Diego doesn't know who's on the line. She's excited to see Mo, where is he? He's being vague, and she's being flirty. Yuck. She asks if he's with a woman or a man, is he interesting, the doubt is eating away at her. He tells her that he sends a kiss, and hangs up without saying her name.

At Men's Wearhouse, Perla answers the phone to Paco, who wants to talk to Diego. She reads him the riot act about how Lidia insulted her in front of her clients. She never wants to see him again!

Lidia, meanwhile, is crying over what happened at Men's Wearhouse. Manuel wants to know why Diego didn't defend his sister. What is she, five? That's insane! Diego says that it was Lidia'a fault, she came looking for a fight. Abuelo is pacing, not sure what to say, but when Manuel tells Diego that Lidia is a successful professional, unlike Diego, abuelo steps in and says that if he knew what was going on, he wouldn't be so proud. He tells Lidia to tell her proud papa how she climbed the ladder! Credits roll.

Destilando Amor -- Tuesday August 7

Pamela and he Bichie are arguing...Pamela is upset, she feels that Aron just wants a fertile womb for his child. Aron doesn't deny it...

Gaviota, at the hacienda, sees her old house burnt. She cries wand wants to stay the night next to the burnt house...Rosa and Serafina say they can't stay with her, cuz they have to be up for the jima next day. She says she'll help with the jima. She cries as she recites that these ashes are all that are left of them and that the place is now "empty like her heart". She drinks tequila... Rosa comes to console her; they decide to have a bonfire and accompany each other.

In Miami, Pamela and Aron are arguing at the cocktail party. Aron leaves; Fedra tells Pamela to give him back the documents. Pamela cries to Fedra asking for mercy...little does she know Fedra is not capable of any emotions except for her little boy. Fedra hisses back asking her to give her son his documents and compares Pamela to Minnie. Pamela is tired of not being allowed to an opinion. Aron walks in and hears her....he's mad....you know when he's dead serious and the side of his head (right next to his eye) comes out like a blowfish??

At his home, Mr James remembers what Acacia told him about killing Meliton. Meanwhile at her house, Acacia is crying inconsolably that Mr James left her and even after dead her uncle keeps hurting her....then she hears Meliton laughing...she yells hysterically asking him to leave...

At the coctail party, Fedra is trying to console Pamela with some alcohol. Aron abruptly goes to the piano where a guy is playing and bangs his hand against the keyboard... he asks for everyone's attention: ladies and Gentlemen...I have news for you!! Fedra jumps in and interrupts...quietly tells Aron that pamela took his passport to prevent him from going to Minnie. Aron gives pamela the look of death as she gives him his passport and tells him: I lost you already, right bichito?? I'm sorry...I'm sorry...!! They hug. Aron's still mad though, cuz the little bone on the side of his head is out again.

At the hacienda, by the bonfire, Gavi is drinking as she remembers her good ol times with Rod. Meanwhile, Rod, in his sleep, says "te amo gaviota...". We get a reminder of the chronological order of past events. Next to Rod, Isa, sleeping wakes up and hears Rod talking to Gaviota in his sleep.

Next morning, Gaviota is cutting agaves...not bad considering she must have a hangover. She sings, while wearing completely different and more sensual outfit than everyone else, while the 'ay gavotte' CD playas in the background.... I wish they didn't make that so obvious. In his room, Rod wakes up to her singing. He looks out the window, gosh, I must say the scenery view out his window is gorgeous...the mountains....ah. He gets ready to leave... Isa wakes up, hears Gavi. Isa: is that Gavi?? Rod: I don't know. Rod leaves as she yells at him to say. We see a closeup of Isa and I notice her makeup even though she just woke up. Anyhoo, soon everyone is singing along with Gavi. Serafina: hehe...Gavi ur singing pretty loud...didn't u say u didn't want noone to know ur here..?? Then we see Rod standing behind her....she turns around...surprised to see him...?? He says..."Gaviota!!" as he cups her face with his hand. "I cannot believe you're here!! I cannot believe you're here! Cannot believe ur no longer a dream...!" There is a little dreamy moment between them... until a car pulls over... Isa shows up, with her pregnant belly hanging and a tummy ring conveniently located to attract extra attention. Gavi sees her, gets shocked, looks at Rod with a face that clearly reads: what da..? didn't u say you couldn't...???.

After commercials, we get a zoom in of Isa's belly, then she runs away. Gavi looks at Rod...he says "gaviota, let me explain...". Gavi doesn't let him talk...LOL..the things she says are pretty funny. "Mr Rod, are you gonna tell me some of your sperms mistakenly fell on her...??...You are worse than the most disgusting worms and plagues that ever existed!! I hope u get chicken pox!! I hope you get measles!!" She screams towards the jimadores and tells them not to believe anything he says, because he'll never value any of them or their work; he's an exploiter... she persuades them to quit, then leaves. The coworkers are all gathered now, striking.

Back in bichie-landia, Pamela is up early; she's worried about Aron... He gives her a kiss..."Belleza, I'll see you Monday". P: do you swear to me? I'll pick u up at the airport. I love u, and could not live without you. A: I love u too...

At her place, Minnie is talking to Patricio. She says, OK, he can bring Lluvia but she will not talk to her. She then proceeds to her lingerie cabinet..."Aron, lace is your weakness.... I'm going to look great for you..."

At the hacienda, everyone is getting the place ready for the wedding.

Isa is upset at Rod...asks him how long this has been going on. Rod tries to explain, Isa threatens to lose the baby. Rod is mad, Sofie comes in and tries to calm Isa. Isa tells Sofie that Gavi is back. Isa is acting hysterical.

At their hotel, Gavi asks mom to come see her ASAP. She tells her Isa is pregnant.

Isa is yelling at Sanwanna; she presumes they all know Gavi has been here for a while. Sanwanna says she didn't know about her. Isa and Sofie are discussing this, Sofie is worried that Gavi will tell Rod the truth about Aron's lies. Isa asks Sanwanna to find out more about how Gavi got there. Sofie asks Isa to please not ruin her wedding day "help me make this day unforgettable..." Isa, in sneaky jealousy thinks: "it will be... no doubt about that!". Ach, I cannot help myself by saying: you snake!!!! Her and Fedra are right up there in a tight race for the snake trophy. She's the kind of friend Minnie deserves.

Bichielandia: Pamela is typing a poem about her and Aron.

At the airport, Aron and mommie are waiting for the plane. He's mad cuz the plane is late. Fedra calms him down by reminding him he'll soon have a baby with Pam. Aron gets happy as he remembers he will have a beautiful baby...."like him"...! Hehehe... I cannot help but imagine.... A baby with neon-red hair, piggie eyes, mustache, and rubber lips. Oh well, who said life's fair.

At the hacienda, Sofie is getting ready while Isa whines at her with the only purpose of ruining her day. Sofie can be annoying, but right now she gets my props for not strangling Isa and shutting her off!! I can only take so much of Isa's whining, because her voice gets high-pitched and starts shaking.

In the next scene, LOL... ok, Frankie is getting a pampering massage....he's wearing something that looks like a diaper, and has people putting some sort of gauze on his face. We then hear that annoying shriek of peroxide hair lady....... ok, I've had my dose of Isa for today. They can't do that to us, expose us to more than 10 seconds of her yelling "Enriquetaaa!!" or in this case "Sanjuanaaaa!!". So, she comes in to Frankie's room, asks everyone to leave, and tells him about Gavi. In her attempt to ruin this day, she tells him there is lots of money in this family, but he won't have access to it. He says he's not here for the money, and asks her to leave. She tries to convince him that Sofie is not a good 'business' for him, that marrying her will be the biggest mistake of his life, and decides she'll tell him her story with Rod from A to Z. Thank goodness we get commercials.

In his office, dressed up to die for, Rod is conversing with Meester Jaimes about how Gavi is back and he's so happy. Gosh, one smile and I forget how stupid he can be. Anyhoo, he talks about what the family would do to Gavi if they knew she's here.

Meanwhile, the jimadores are talking among each and decide not to work anymore until they talk to Rod. Roman convinces them that he'll talk to Rod and calms them down.

Back to Isa and Frankie...Frankie wonders how Isa is pregnant if she didn't boink Rod. As Isa is going to tell him the truth, someone knocks on the door....but she no longer needs to tell him, Frankie already suspects. He looks scared...but continues with his rejuvenation session.

In the living room, the family is gathering for the wedding. Isa walks in and makes a scene, forcing Rod to tell the family that Gavi is back. Ok, usually I like Dani, but WHAT did she do to her hair??? To me it kinda looks like a mop after you finish wiping away red Hawaiian tropic you just spilled on the floor. Rod and Isa argue about Gav. Roman breaks the news about the jimadores. Rod leaves. The family talks, talks, talks... Bruno tells Isa to calm down and not ruin Sofie's wedding.

Sanwanna is trying to get some juicy news from Rosa. Rosa won't tell her anything about Gavi.

In her hotel, Gavi is sitting in the bed remembering when she saw Isa earlier that day. She cries "no puede ser...!!!".

Tune in...! Tomorrow:

- Isa and Minnie are alone...Isa rubs in that she's having a varon.
- Gavi is talking to her mom about Rod's baby...Clarita: that baby is not his!
- Rod and Aron are fighting...seems like Rod found out all the truth about Gavi...

*** Have a wonderful day! 8-) ***

Juan Q 8/7 Juan gets a little cheeky

Mareli thinks she’s figured out Juan’s secret. He’s gay, right?

Paula’s not happy about CL’s wife calling. She thinks it’s weird that Monica’s at home waiting to eat with him. He explains that it’s just out of custom. Plus, Monica needs time for the non-existent divorce and all. Poor, poor Monica. Paula asks CL if Monica knows about what’s going on in his life. Paula accepts his silence as the answer. CL spits out that he hasn’t found the right moment to tell Monica about Paula. Paula urges him to hurry up and find that moment.

Alirio begs Nidia to leave the Davila’s in peace. She explains that she doesn’t want to invite them to the wedding out of malice. After speaking with Ana, she doesn’t think they’re bad people. Alirio can’t believe newfound affection goes as far as inviting las Davila’s to the wedding.

Juan’s offended and he scolds Mareli. She points out that he’s not answering the question. She just wants to know if he’s gay. I’m guessing the bright green shirt isn’t helping his cause. Juan says that he’s not gay and he points out that he’s not effeminate. Mareli doesn’t think that not being effeminate means anything. Juan responds by saying that he definitely he is not gay. Juan says that he’s bothered that people think he’s something that he’s not. Mareli points to Juan’s relationship with Pastor. Juan replies that this doesn’t mean that he’s the same as Pastor. Mareli asks Juan why he tolerates Pastor. I wonder the same thing, considering that CL, the BOSS, seems to have a mad man crush on Juan. CL needs his spy; I’m sure Juan’s job is perfectly safe.

CL tells Paula that if it’s so important he’ll tell Monica tonight. He wants to maneuver the topic away from Monica, but Paula disagrees. Monica is a problem at the center of their relationship. CL says that Monica’s unpredictable (impredecible) and he doesn’t know how’ll she’ll take the news. She’ll probably faint, CL. Monica does that, a-l-o-t. Paula falls for it, again, and says that if it’s that important to him then not to tell Monica. CL looks Paula in the eye and in the sleaziest way possible tells her that he never wants to lose the magic of this moment. Personally, I think this moment sucked for them both, but if that’s his idea of a great memory…then go for it, CL!

Nidia explains to Alirio that the Davila’s are family. Paula’s the girls’ half sister and Mareli’s boss. The should be present for an important family occasion. Alirio reminds Nidia that Ana is the one who stole Samuel. Nidia doesn’t think anything will please Alirio. Alirio says he just thought he wouldn’t live to see the day. Nidia replies that it’s happening and that’s it.

Juan explains to Mareli that he’s very grateful to Pastor. Pastor gave Juan that job and Pastor is the head of human resources. Juan has to be very careful with Pastor. Mareli asks if Juan’s serious that nothing is going on with Pastor. Juan replies that there is nothing with Pastor or any other man. He asks Mareli how he can demonstrate that to her. She says that he doesn’t need to do anything; she believes him. Her smile doesn’t make me, or Juan, very sure.

Alirio doesn’t think it’s a good idea considering the whole issue of the will. Nidia responds that she’s a good person, but not an idiot. One thing is one thing and another is something else entirely. (That sounds a lot better in Spanish!)

Pastor once again laments the comings, goings and doings of Juan Dominguez. Yvonne is just plain tired of hearing it. Pastor looks for drama. Pastor asks if Yvonne knows something. She replies that she saw Juan leaving, and he didn’t look as sad as Pastor thinks Juan was. Pastor asks for complete information. Yvonne tells Pastor that Juan left with Mareli.

Juan thought bubbles to himself that he can tell that Mareli said she believed him only to avoid problems. He decides that he needs to do something quickly to prove himself.

Pastor confuses Yvonne of meddling in his affairs with Juan. He’s noticed that Yvonne’s had her eye on Juan since the day he arrived. He accuses Yvonne of always wanting men who belong to someone else; in this case it’s Juan. Yvonne replies that Pastor needs to stop being such a geek (sonso) and open his eyes because Juan’s playing dirty. Pastor won’t hear it and he throws Yvonne from his office.

Now that she and CL are done with lunch, Paula wants to return to the office. She worries because there’s a lot of work to be done and people will star talking if they notice that both she and CL are gone all afternoon. CL insists that she accompany him some place where he can make her an offer. She agrees to go.

Mareli thanks Juan for the food, the company and for answering her questions. He says it was no problem; he wanted to resolve all doubts. They take their leave. Juan thought bubbles to himself and wonders if he should stay or leave. He resolves that Paula is a decent woman and that she’ll return. When she does; she’ll need him. He sadly thinks that the love of his life is about to fall into the arms of another.

CL’s brought Paula to the love nest. She wants to know why. She wants to know if his proposal includes a bed. He replies that it will only if she wants it.

Pastor immediately accosts Mareli the instant she walks into the lobby. He asks her to come to his office. Yvonne looks on, a knowing look spreading across her face.

CL explains to Paula that his proposal is for her to live in this apartment. Paula wants to know how he knows she’ll accept. He replies that he knows that she needs it. He doesn’t want her to live with him; he only wants to offer the apartment. She notes that it’s odd that he has a house and an unoccupied apartment. He explains that it’s for foreign business associates. Paula says that she cannot accept. He thinks she should use it as a temporary solution while she looks for her own apartment. She’s the woman that he loves and he’s worried about her. She accepts. He says they need to go to the supermarket first to fill the empty refrigerator.

Pastor explains to Mareli that he’s going to touch on a sensitive subject. She tells him not to worry; she’s an open book. He replies that he wants to talk about her private life. Now Mareli’s worried. Pastor asks Mareli about the nature of her relationship with Juan. Mareli’s a little incredulous. She wants to know why Pastor asked this question. He gets upset and tells her just to say yes or no. Are she and Juan a couple?

CL and Paula exit the apartment building. CL goes to Fernando and dismisses him for the day. CL returns to Paula and says that they should go to the supermarket; there’s one close by. She asks CL how he knew that. He said that was one of the factors for buying the apartment. He liked the location and everything necessary to live is close. They leave for the local market.

Mareli answers Pastor by saying that she didn’t realize that he wanted to get that personal. Pastor repeats his question. Mareli says that has nothing to do with her work. Pastor pulls out the relationships-between-employees-is-forbidden card. Mareli thinks this is an ancient rule, that’s out of date. Pastor doesn’t want to debate that; he wants an answer. He says that her lack of an answer must be an affirmation. Mareli replies that it’s really the opposite. There’s nothing between her and Juan. Pastor begs Mareli to tell him that she’s sure. Mareli once again says that Juan is not her type. Mareli takes her leave of a gleeful Pastor.

We’re treated to another Paula-CL montage. They didn’t go psychedelic this time. Oh no, they went retro. They scratched the film to make it look like old home movies. How sweet. Not! Is that Wal-Mart?

Juan sees that Fernando returns to the garage alone and he loses hope. Fernando wants to know why Juan is still there. Juan explains that he’s waiting. He demands to know where Paula is. Fernando looks worried that Juan might just eat him.

CL says that when he said he would take Paula to the supermarket, he didn’t know she would take it so seriously. Paula replies that she only got what was necessary. CL pulls out a bottle of wine and asks if she really only got the necessities. Paula asks him if he’s every shopped at the supermarket before. He replies that he has not, but he liked the experience (because of the company). They start to make out. She wants to put the groceries away first, but he has other things on his mind. She slowly gives in to him.

Juan again demands to know Paula’s whereabouts and with who. Fernando says that she’s with her boss. Juan says that Paula’s in danger. He pulls at Fernando’s collar. Fernando tells Juan that Paula’s in CL’s “lion’s den”. Fernando tells Juan that he feels sorry for Juan, but there’s nothing that they can do.

CL and Paula bask in the after sex moments. She doesn’t understand how he can always get her to do anything. He points out that they both just did something. She tells him that she went to Taxco thinking nothing would happen, but she returned in love. He asks if she regrets what happened. She replies that she does not. She tells him that she’s in love with him all the way to the spine. They start to make out again.

Fernando explains CL’s game to Juan. Juan’s obviously bothered. Fernando tells Juan not to think about it because he’ll go crazy. Juan gets on the bus and though bubbles that Paula can’t possibly become one of these women. He goes to her hotel, certain that she returned. At the reception desk, he comes up with a plan.

CL’s phone rings; it’s Monica. Paula insists that he answers. Has he already been caught?

Paula again insists that he answer or throw the phone out of the window. He haughtily answers the phone. Monica wants to know where he is. He says that he’s at one of the business’s properties, a grocery store. Monica asks him to stop at the pharmacy for her. She notes the frustration in his voice and asks if she’s interrupting something. He says that he’s in a meeting, but she should say what she needs. Paula puts on his shirt and stomps out of the room.

Juan goes to Ana’s house and offers her some bread. She asks him if he needs something. No, he just felt like coming over. She tells him to take a seat.

Kike’s trying to win over Yadira, but she doesn’t want him. He pretends to kiss her hello, but answers her “what do you want” by explaining that he was looking for Juan. She replies that Juan is not in the house. Kike asks if he may wait. Yadira says that Kike may, but that he will do so alone. Before she can leave, he asks how she is. She says that she’s fine and yells at him not to treat her like a sick person.

Ana and Juan sit in the living room, in silence. He finally asks how she is. She curiously says that she’s fine. More silence. He asks if there’s anything else. She says that she’s waiting for a job. He replies that jobs are very important. They share some more small talk and some silence. Finally, Ana asks if something’s wrong with Juan. He says that he just had a free afternoon and wanted to visit. Ana asks why his afternoon is free. Juan says that Paula had to do some things with CL. He then asks if Paula has, by chance, passed by the house. Ana says that Paula has not. Juan excuses himself for coming over and interrupting her. She says that she was just going to paint. Juan asks if he can help her with anything. She thinks for a moment and then says that he can. He says he’ll do whatever she wants. She happily smiles.

CL and Paula stand at opposite sides of the room. I’m not sure which is further, the emotional distance between them or the physical distance across the room. She’s making coffee. He notes that she’s upset about Monica’s phone call. She replies that of course she isn’t; can’t he see her smiling? She does come clean and say that she’s not accustomed to lies. It’s just not in her nature.

Ana reluctantly tries to explain to Juan what she needs. It’s not that he needs to do anything. Well, he does need to do something. She’s a painter and she’s become interested in the human form. Juan comments that he admires painters; he would be enchanted to help her. She asks him to be her model. He’s thrilled and starts to pose. She’s less interested in the pose. She’s interested in his body. She points out his body that he has under his clothes. She finally says that she wants to do a nude painting. Juan has to cover himself and nervously looks at Ana. I think the writer who came up with this storyline deserves a prize! A painting of Juan in nothing but his botas, ay ay ay!

CL and Paula have another boring fight. He once again doesn’t want to hurt Monica by talking about Paula. He guilt trips Paula into a false understanding. She doesn’t want to be together if they have to hide. CL says they don’t have to hide; they just have to be prudent. He begs her to be patient.

Juan asks if he really has to be dressed like he was when he entered the world. Ana replies that nude paintings are generally of naked people. He asks if he has to take off his boots. Noo!!!!! She says that he has to take off everything. He complains, but she begs; it’s for the love of art.

Juan goes into the bedroom and dances to his good luck. Seriously, my TV just went out. Can anyone fill in this scene?

Okay, my TV’s back online. Nidia and Kike are talking about food. I missed the beginning so I think he’s just talking about her good food.

Juan comes down the stairs in a white towel, his boots and his handkerchief. Thank you, Lord, for making my TV fix itself! I was wrong; this writer doesn’t deserve an award. She deserves a freaking Oscar and an Emmy, a Golden Globe and the biggest People’s Choice award there is! Juan tells Ana that he’s ready. She comments that he has a nice body. She tells him to take off his boots. He complies; we’re down to a towel, ladies! She directs him to sit down. He asks about his pose. She directs him to go sit by the wall. He does some poses for her. She tells her to lay down, but not like he’s sleeping. That towel is just scandalous! After she poses him, she says that he’s perfect and to get rid of the towel. He asks if it’s really necessary for her to paint his naught bits. She insists that he take off the towel. I bet Juan never, never considered this when he came over to the Davila house that afternoon! Ana tells Juan that they won’t be the first naughty bits that she’s seen, so he can just go ahead and take off the towel. He complies. We get a shot of Juan behind some lovely flowers. Ana looks at him and from the expression on her face we can guess that his naughty bits aren’t so itty-bitty.

Paula gets a view of what she's missing.

Amar Sin Limites #14, Monday 8-6: A Swing and a Miss

At the Men's Wearhouse of Inappropriate Personal Disclosures: We pick back up with Diego telling Arnaldo and Ceci that, given the chance, he would have liked to marry Azul, make her happy, be made happy by her, have her babies…no, wait, he didn't say that last part. Arnaldo is impressed by Diego's sincerity (tomato, tomahto). Diego hands Arnaldo and Ceci off to the guy at the register. Diego heads upstairs, where Perla (Diego's female coworker/buddy) wants to know how long Paco and Lidia have been together (the answer: years). She leaves without telling him why she wanted to know. Now Abuelo comes up, rocking a blue tie, to chat with Diego about his day ("como los tamaleros: mal y vendiendo," meaning "like the tamale sellers: bad, but selling"). He says the sewing area is small and disorganized, but he can wing it, plus the other wise men all have a mutual admiration society going. Mama doesn't know Abuelo's working there yet. Diego mentions he has permission to leave work early and Abuelo wonders if it's about "the flower girl" or "the woman with mental problems". Diego just gives him a hug, but looks worried.

Casa Diego: Papa surprises Mama by buying bread. I wasn't trying to be snarky, it just came out that way. He tells her he went to talk to Isela (pool hall owner), but she treated him like a dog. Mama said he hasn't seen her in a while and she wonders if Isela's acting like "the first lady" because she's with Papa's boss, Anibal. Mama's surprised Papa didn't know Isela and Anibal were an item. She wonders why the two of them are hiding it since they're both free…as far as she knows. Ooh, Papa looks uncomfortable.

Casa Azul and Ceci: Azul comes home and Arnaldo's in the kitchen fixing coffee. He looks like a waiter or a bartender with his white shirt and black vest. Azul notices the garment bag from Men's Wearhouse and Arnaldo tells her he likes Diego. She's pissed that Ceci took Arnaldo to that specific Men's Wearhouse. Arnaldo tells her to chill, that Diego's part of Azul's amorous past, but Azul denies it. Arnaldo thinks it's suspicious that Azul is that upset just from seeing the garment bag. Azul admits he's right, but says it's not important. Arnaldo (who's just as big a gossip as Ceci!) repeats what Diego said about wanting to marry Azul. Arnaldo goes on to say that Diego has what Azul needs. But he doesn't say it in a dirty way. I know, sometimes it's tough to tell given the content of the show. Moving on….

Paco's love nest at Isela's: Perla and Paco are sitting on the bed, for some unknown reason, and Perla is drinking what I suspect is tequila. She wants to know why he lives there and he says home sucks because he doesn't get along with his stepfather. He starts touching her hair and telling her how pretty she is, then he takes the shot glasses and puts them on the bedside table…the better to kiss her, my dears. He says he's wanted to be alone with her for a while and she returns the sentiment. She says she doesn't know him well and he makes a joke about not biting…well, only sometimes. He tells her what a catch he is and once he assures her he'll still respect her in the morning, they consummate their total lack of any previous relationship.

Diego drives Silvana to her meeting with Mauricio. He waits in the car while she goes inside. Mauricio has brought The Box Of (Not) Nico's Stuff. He wants her to open the box, but she says she'll do it later, when she's alone. He starts right in telling her that even before the accident Liliana (his dead wife) "wasn't well", that she'd been hallucinating. He wants to know what she told Silvana. Silvana says the only thing she said is that Mauricio was a monster, but she never got around to saying why. Liliana said she'd seen something and that Mauricio would never leave her alone now. Silvana wants to know what that something was and how Mauricio could be capable. Mauricio wonders what he's supposed to have been capable of and says he tried to stop Liliana, but she got into the accident because she was "self-medicating" and drunk. Silvana accuses Mauricio of leaving her son "tirado ahi, en el suelo" ("thrown there, on the ground"; sounds like she's accusing him of not helping her son at the scene of the accident?). Mauricio says she should read the report before she talks. He says they were "all" responsible, that Silvana could have stopped her since they were on the phone for so long while Liliana was on the road. He says when something terrible happens we "all" feel guilty and asks if she thinks she could have done something to stop the accident. He says he feels guilty every second…doesn't she? Is she completely innocent? Oops, I think he broke her. Silvana gets up, grabs the box and goes back to the car. Mauricio smiles maliciously. Malicious Mauricio…say that ten times fast.

Paco's School for Socially Challenged Young Men Who Need To Learn What NOT to Say After Sex: He starts with "I needed that". Perla asks him if he's not doing it with Lidia. He says sure, but after a while things get routine. Perla asks if that means he was just breaking out of his routine with her. He says no, it's not that, she's reguapa (way pretty); he kisses her hand and thanks her for "this gift". Are you cringing yet? Perla takes offense. She leaves, but not before telling him that he sucked in bed. Plus he cheated on his girlfriend, which wasn't worth it on account of how bad he was. Yee-ouch!

Casa Azul and Ceci: Mauricio came over to let Azul make him feel better after his horrible meeting with Silvana. They get all mushy with each other. Azul asks him when he's going to give her an engagement ring. Spoiled much? Mauricio's quiet a bit too long and Azul asks if he's going to answer. Mauricio tells him it's the first time a woman has demanded that from him. He says he loves it that she's done that. Aw, see, that's why they're perfect for each other. She's spoiled and he loves throwing money around. Can't we leave Diego for someone who actually wants him?

Driveway of Casa Diego: I don't know how long Silvana's been going on, but she tells Diego that Mauricio said she was to blame for the accident and that he's "un maldito" ("a damned"; we've talked about this adjectives-as-nouns thing before, she means he's a very, very bad man). She says he killed his wife and her son and he'll kill anyone who crosses him, etc., etc. Diego has had it with all this crazy talk. He says he likes her, but all this responsibility is weighing on him (hey, kid, you were the one who wanted the puppy). She gets out of the car, grabs The Box out of the back seat, and storms into the house. Mama sees her looking all homicidal/suicidal and asks how she is. No reply is forthcoming.

Casa Azul and Ceci: Mauricio and Arnaldo are bonding. Arnaldo says he's not on vacation, he's staying. Azul is happy to hear that, but not as happy to hear that Arnaldo spent the day with Tia Inés. Azul wants the three of them to go to dinner, but Mauricio says he'll go with them some other day, today he's too tired.

Diego's bedroom: Diego is whining to Silvana about how he gives, gives, gives, and never thinks about himself. He says he's not going to apologize for what he said because she knows why he said it. He plops down on his cot and she's sitting on the bed, so The Box is sitting in between them. She says she hasn't opened it yet, but now she flips the lid off. There's a fútbol that looks like perhaps it was kicked around for about half an hour on a carpet by kids wearing socks, a red toy car, and Caty's drawing. Nice try, Leonarda, but the drawing was too much. Silvana knows it's not Nico's drawing. And now she flips out, but good.

Casa Azul and Ceci: Arnaldo calls his dad, but Inés picks up the phone. She makes some excuse about picking up papers and hands the phone off to Alfredo. Alfredo and Arnaldo have a very terse conversation in which it is confirmed that they're having dinner the next night. Inés calls him on his terseness and he gives her a hard time about answering the phone at his place--what if it had been Azul? Inés apologizes. Who said it was like a relationship with a married man? Because that was right on.

Kitchen of Mansión Malicia: Mauricio is telling Andres that Silvana doesn't know anything. They can both sleep soundly from now on. Mauricio leaves the kitchen with his beer and Andres looks like he's not convinced he'll sleep soundly.

Casa Azul and Ceci: Arnaldo thinks Mauricio is too serious and a little arrogant. Azul defends him. Arnaldo points out that she pushed the relationship pretty fast after he (Arnaldo) brought up Diego. He suspects that Diego makes the earth move for her, and that scares her. She denies it, of course, and leaves the room.

Diego's bedroom: Diego's trying to get Silvana to calm down, but she's too upset that Mauricio would do this on purpose. She can't believe he thought this would fool her. Diego asks why he would deceive her about something this important and Silvana says it was so she would meet him. She says even though she was in a psych clinic for a year, she can still recognize her son's stuff and this ain't it. Diego says maybe Mauricio was confused. Silvana says if Diego doesn't believe her, they don't have anything more to talk about. She leaves the room.

Mansión Malicia: Azul and Mauricio are being mushy. Mauricio has a surprise for Azul. He covers her eyes and leads her to her death. No, he leads her to her new car, a little silver boxy sort of thing with a big red bow on top. She makes the usual noises about how she can't possibly accept it. From their perch by the hot tub, Leonarda and Andres look on. Leonarda says Azul is more ambitious than Mauricio. I'm not sure what that means or why it's such a dramatic statement.

Diego's bedroom: It's morning, and after Diego finishes getting dressed he sits on Silvana's bed and tells her he thinks it would be good for her to see Emilia and he'll see her there at the usual time.

Mansión Malicia: Ooh, Leonarda has said something nasty, apparently, because Mauricio says he'd prefer she didn't make those kinds of comments. Leo says she just wants to know if Azul also gets to decide when Leo will serve the employees lunch. All Mauricio cares about is that they don't have problems. Leo tries a "but Azul…." and Mauricio says if she doubts Azul, she doubts him. Andres tries to placate Mauricio, saying they just need to know what they're supposed to do. Mauricio apologizes and says he knows they're sensitive (say what?) and he hasn't been dealing well with things lately. He says they know he loves them and that they're his family. Then he walks off, leaving a not-reassured Leo and Andres.

Emilia's office: Big surprise, Silvana hasn't shown up for her session. Emilia tells Diego he should have called her and told her Silvana was in crisis. Gloria calls Emilia to tell her that Silvana saw Mauricio's picture in the paper with an article saying he'd be at some conference and that she (Silvana) grabbed the gun she'd hidden in Gloria's apartment and took off. She begs Emilia to help Silvana.

Mystery Conference, probably in some hotel ballroom: Mauricio and Andres are there, mixing and mingling. A couple of guys come to collect Mauricio so they can start the conference. Silvana shows up, but only has to say she's there with Mauricio in order to get in. She moves nervously around the room without really being noticed by anyone, despite wearing a bright red shirt and bumping into some people. She eventually goes to stand near a door. We see Diego coming to look for her, but since he only looks into the room and not around the corner, he apparently doesn't see Silvana. Either she sees him or she's just being her usual freaky self since she leaves her location and goes to hide behind a potted palm. More shots of Diego looking around the room before someone calls the conference to order. Silvana is pointing the gun, which Diego eventually sees. Things get slo-mo on and off as Silvana points the gun and people applaud Mauricio. Commercials! Ooh, suspenseful!

Back from commercials: Diego tackles Mauricio just before Silvana fires the gun and shatters the glass behind where Mauricio was standing. In the ensuing confusion, Silvana leaves. Mauricio wants to know who Diego is. A security guy asks everyone to calm down and tells them they can't leave. Diego is looking around for Silvana. The security guy asks if anyone saw where the shot came from and Mauricio points Diego out as having to have seen someone since he pushed him out of the way. Diego says he only saw that it was a man and saw the gun.

Mansión Malicia: Azul is showing off her new office to her dad and brother. Alfredo asks why Arnaldo is back. Arnaldo says it was just time, like it was time for Alfredo to leave his job at the university. Alfredo says it was different and that he "only" came to work there because he didn't have any other choice. Azul defends the bad-assedness of his job offer, but Alfredo says they had him between a rock and a hard place. Arnaldo says Alfredo's never going to thank Azul for rescuing him from financial ruin. Alfredo says he can see that Arnaldo only came back to bug him and to make up lies. Dude, I'm offended on Arnaldo's behalf. I wonder if GSD is purposely being a jerk or if he really sees it this way.

Office of Infidelity: Paco has come to visit Lidia at work. She asks if he's still out of sorts because of her promotion and says he's been this way since she got promoted. She notices he looks like he's crying and Paco admits to cheating on her--but just the once. Lidia's pissed and tells him to get out of there. You know, I kind of get the feeling that she's not really angry about the cheating per se, but because he told her. Or it might be because his shoes squeak so loudly on the floor.

Conference: Andres is suspicious of Diego. He thinks it's odd that Diego pushed Mauricio down to save him when he doesn't even know him. Mauricio gripes Andres out for not noticing what was going on. He blames it on Andres' jealousy of Azul (o-kay?).

Mansión Malicia, Azul's office: Azul asks Arnaldo why he and GSD always fight. She asks him to make an effort. He points out the "costume" (or "disguise") he's wearing--white shirt, black tie, black slacks…I'm getting that waiter vibe again.--as proof that he is making an effort. He says "me choca" (I hate it) that GSD always tries to act like he doesn't need them when he's always had to lean on someone to get ahead.

Conference: Mauricio wants to talk to Diego about what happened and reward him in some way, but Diego begs off, saying he already told the police everything, and he's freaked out. I'm amazed that Mauricio lets him leave without getting what he wanted out of him.

Mansión Malicia: Leo is on the phone to Andres, who is giving her instructions not to let Caty watch TV (Mauricio's orders, not Andres'). He clarifies that it wasn't a "shoot-out" it was just one shot, they're fine, and they're going to go home. We see Azul walking behind Leo. Leo tells Azul that Mauricio and Andres had "a little problem". Seriously, y'all, for a second there, I thought Leo was just evil enough to NOT give the instructions to Azul and let her take the fall for traumatizing the moppet.

Emilia's office: Diego is way freaked. He tells Emilia he can't find Silvana anywhere. Emilia says Gloria wants them to call the police, but Diego asks her to hold off for an hour while he keeps looking. I don't think Emilia knows about Silvana's homicidal intentions toward Mauricio--what she's worried about is that Silvana will kill herself.

Office of Infidelity: Lidia is violently ripping up a piece of paper. Piero comes back from lunch asking if Lidia wasn't with Paco and did they have a fight. She accuses him of having spies. He tries to flirt, but she gets pissed off and says today's not her day. She storms out of the office, leaving a confused Piero. Who probably needs a cold shower anyway.

Mansión Malicia: Mauricio and Azul are talking about the shooting. Mauricio says it wasn't someone shooting AT him, just in the general direction of him and some other people. Smooth. He tells her about the nice guy who saved him from getting shot. The nice guy whose name he doesn't know. Azul says the guy was brave. She's worried that the shooter is still out there, but Mauricio doesn't want her to worry or else they won't ever be calm.

Casa Diego: Diego's on the phone with his boss, explaining that he's got a situation and complaining that he never comes in late or misses work, so his boss should ease up on him. Abuelo comes home just to tell Diego that he's worried about Diego's attitude, what with mouthing off to his boss and so on. Abuelo's worried that Diego will lose his job and he advises him to call the boss back and play nice. Diego says he doesn't have time for this, he's in the middle of a big problem. Abuelo tells him he needs to get out of this problem, since the last thing he needs is to become "un irresponsable" ("an irresponsible").

Emilia's office: Silvana has finally shown up and she won't tell Emilia what happened, but she begs to go back to the clinic.

Casa Diego: Apparently Mama saw Silvana looking nutty earlier, but didn't call Diego because she thought he didn't want her to get involved. He tells Mama that Silvana's in trouble (duh!), nothing serious, but she's very sensitive and he's worried. Lidia comes in and snaps at Mama and then leaves again. Emilia calls Diego and tells him Silvana showed up and he can't see her right now since she's resting (with the help of some sedatives). Emilia tells him Silvana wants to go back to the clinic. Diego wants to see her, but Emilia says she'll call him when Silvana wakes up.

Lidia's room: Lidia asks Mama why men are the ones who define what "our" place is as women. Mama asks if she's starting a feminist revolution or is this because of a personal problem. Lidia says it's because of a personal problem. Mama asks if there's a man in Lidia's life who's not appreciating her and Lidia says it's something like that. Mama says women have always been at a disadvantage and have to fight harder than men, but it's worth the trouble. She asks Lidia never to settle and to fight for what she wants. She says it's easier to resign oneself to mediocrity, but one is never happy. She says resignation is like being dead.

Emilia's office: Emilia touches Silvana's hair and wakes her without meaning to. Emilia wants to know what happened, but Silvana says she'll tell her later. Silvana says Emilia's been good to her and she (Silvana) has behaved badly. She says Emilia isn't the one who should have been responsible for caring for her, it was Emilia's brother, Silvana's husband. Emilia says she thinks Hugo had his reasons and they can't judge him. Silvana says she doesn't want to do crazy stuff anymore, she wants to be well. Emilia says she's got to make an effort. Silvana says a man saved her life today, a pretty man, a knight in shining armor, the boy of her dreams. Emilia laughs and says it's the tranqs talking. Silvana swears it's true--he kept her from killing the monster, that's why he's her prince on a white steed (ah, but death rides a pale horse too, no?). Emilia says she'll leave her to dream. Silvana mutters that tomorrow he'll take her far away.

Mansión Malicia: Azul finds Mauricio out on the balcony. He says he was thinking about her, but she says he's thinking about the shooting. Mauricio says there's nothing for her to worry about. She says she does worry about him. She promises never to leave him alone again and she'll be his guardian angel. She says she couldn't take it if anything happened to him. He says they should enjoy this moment because it's all they have. He's a murdering desgraciado, sinvergüenza, infeliz…but he does have a point.

Warning! Norman Bates and Mother scene coming up: Leo and Andres eat dinner. Leo wants to know what's up, as Andres hasn't eaten anything. He says he had some whisky with Mauricio and lost his appetite. Andres can't believe he's worried about Mauricio since once Liliana died, Andres became Mauricio's favorite victim. Andres says Mauricio treats him badly, as if it's Andres' responsibility to fix every problem Mauricio has. Leo reminds him that Mauricio is their boss and the "owner" of their lives, and that it's because of Mauricio that they are where they are and that they're together. So…in a way it's Mauricio who's responsible for this creepy relationship? Gee, thanks, dude. Andres says it's getting more difficult. Leo takes his hand and places it on her face (ew!) telling him to think about how much she loves him, that she's here to take care of him, that she's his only family and if anything happens to him, she'll kill herself. She kisses his hand.

The next morning: Andres is on the phone to someone, confirming information. Mauricio comes out the door and greets him, noting that Andres is really happy. Andres says he knows who tried to kill Mauricio.

Dun, dun, dun!

Tune in tomorrow, when things will allegedly heat up.

Destilando Amor 08/06/07 "A Disturbance in the Force"

We open tonite with Gavi telling the Jimadors to bring it on, she is one of them. The Jimadors scoff at her, with her fancy clothes and her city ways and her fine, soft hands. It’s on Gavi challenges Serafina & Rosa to a Agave down. Five thousand pesos (slighty less than $500 US) is riding an Agave chopping contest.

Gavi grabs the Agave tool and the games begin…the crowd goes wild, the men are standing around and cheering, certain hawt chick mud wrestling can’t be far off.
Up to the big Hacienda, the Hil replacement tells Rod that Sofie and Frankie have arrived, now he is off to get Roman.

Meanwhile let us stroll on over to Dry Gulch Acres where we see Mr. James calling for Acacia, why now he is becoming worried, he is screeching for her. Oh poor Mr James, Acacia can’t hear you cause she is in "Barn of Many Secrets", where she has lit a candle and is having a bit of a Jersey sit down over the tomb of Meliton. Is it just me or does that pile of rocks seem to get bigger? Anyway she is crying and lamenting over the death of evil Meliton. I mean it really was an accident, she did not intend to kill him, so I’m thinking man-slaughter at the most with time already served. Anyway, James comes in and asute judge of human nature that he is, he questions Acacia. "Que Pasa, Pequena?" Then James actually has the nerve to say "What is that?" while gazing at the "Tomb of the Unknown Incest Committing Uncle". Now I must interject here, could this AssHat be any more worthless? He hasn’t been in the barn in two months? Has he just been at that school teaching other young men how to tie that totally effeminate tie? Go on Acacia…do it the first murder is always the hardest, it just gets easier. But no, Acacia blurts out she killed Meliton. James is horrified…he can’t believe it. Acacia is one blank stare away from a catatonic state. She begs James to understand, she has blood on her hands, but it was an accident. James will not be an accomplice to murder, oh no little missy, you are not getting him involved in that. She begs him not to leave her…but noble Englishman that James is, he stubbles out. Ahhhh good James that you went to Mexico, cause had this been the West of Ireland, you’d be in the bog with Meliton. Damn Acacia wails like a lost motherless child, oh wait she is a lost motherless child. Mr. James, my hate for you knows no bounds.

Now on the lighter side Gavi whipped up on the two Jima girls and she didn’t even break a sweat, see that lugging around fifty pounds of out of print encyclopedias really paid off. It is congrads all around and Gavi tells her CRT guy to go buy bottles for everyone..There is a party goin on right here.

Up to the big Hacienda, Sofie walks in and Frankie kinda slithers behind her. Hand shaking and fake platitudes all the way round, when in walks what I at first mistake for a life size version of the new "Skanky Mama Bratz" doll, but no wait is it our favorite "embarazada ella". Damn she is wearing a black mid top with gold lame embossed design, some pregnant women knit others bedazzle. A totally fetching belly ring (I bet no CZ) there and some low ridin black pants. Girl friend, did someone put a "InStyle" cover over a copy of "Easy Rider" magazine? Hmmm I think maybe Dani & Elvis played a little joke. Rod always the diplomat is like "Que the Hell are you doing here?" Well Isa was tired of being alone (she does a point), so she decided to join the family at the ranch. Rod has the look of a fourteen-year "I never get to have any fun."

Now through the magic of TeleVisa we are transported to Miami, where there is an awesome shindig going on. It is a party with all of Aaron’s who’s who list. Pamela and Fedra come in an Aaron chastes Pamela for being late. She has her Ma & Pa in tow. Pammy’s mother having red hair does not explain that never seen in nature shade that Pammy sports and Pammy is nowhere near cool enough to wear that color cause she is making a statement. I also must add that I think Aaron is being way harsh with Pam tonite cause by the look of her lips she has had some sort of near fatal allergenic reaction. Aaron says he is going to have to go to Mexico and to the wedding of Sofie. Pamela is angry, his own family won’t attend their Wedding and she suspects he is only going to hook up with Minnie. Pam stomps off. Aaron has another slight stroke and orders the maid (this is the same one who was covering for Pam and Aaron), to get his bag ready and find his passport. Pammy sneaks up to the bedroom and takes Aaron’s passport.

Now back to the Hacienda, Gavi is talking to the Jimadors who are enamored with her. She tells them of the dangers of the Agave diseases. Of course the Jimadors want to stop this disease cause what is good for Montalvo is good for them, not to mention that for a work break and free booze they’d listen to George Bush explain his Iraq policy. There was a time when for free booze I too would have listened. Gavi says she has to go, but the people encourage her to stay and drink with them. Gavi agrees she feels at home being with "Her People", can a waving scene off a balcony and an Evita speech be far behind?

Up in the Big House, Sofie, Frankie, & Rod are chatting it up. Sofie says she wants to have a kid in a year. Isa thinks Stupida, I’m thought bubbling the same thing. Isa is sitting silent on the couch. Rod asks her if anything is wrong, but she denies it. James arrives and asks to speak to Rod, he then picks up a bottle of Tequila..he tells Rod he can’t stay at Dry Gulch. Rod hands off the bottle to the ever-present SannnaWanna and escorts James out of the room. Frankie is like "Que the Hell?", Isa answers that James is the former boyfriend of Sofie and James married a poor Campesina. Sofie says they broke up a long time ago and Frankie says the past is the past. You know Frankie after seeing James is totally feeling like the man.

Rod and James are sitting out on the patio drinking Tequila. Would you think, that maybe just once; Rod would STFU long enough to at least ask James what the problem is? But oh no, Rod just serves another big steaming heaping plate of rehashed hash. Rod regales his Gavi tales of how he tries to forget her but can’t finally he is like what do you think? James does not answer, Rod is "Are you listening to me?" Really at this point I so want James to say, "I quit listening like two years and nine months, yet your lips just keep moving." Once again I am disappointed. Finally Rod asks what is wrong, like an afterthought, but James says he doesn’t want to talk about it.

Sofie and Isa are in the bedroom and Sofie’s Wedding Dress, which I shall Dub "The Dress of Future Disappointment" is perched on a stand. James comes in, I think he was looking for the room he was supposed to sleep in. He says it is a beautiful dress, Isa excuses herself and leaves the two of them alone.
Now then I was completely wrong earlier when I said could James be anymore worthless? Cause yes he could and he proves it. James laments his decision years ago not to return to London with Sofie. Sofie is like "Well it is a little late for that", James is all emotional and their hands meet over the Wedding Dress, thankfully James has not gone into a full blown Stigmata and he does not bleed on the dress, but it looks like James is gonna try and cop a feel..Sofie wanting no part of it, other than to twist the knife a bit, is like well it is what it is. She leaves. Gawd I got the Rod asking Isa to get married feeling here. Like hey my marriage didn’t work out, but can we twist like we did in England baby? Really you know I am glad the IRA made peace, but whacking James would a been a most excellent fund raiser.

Now The FrankMaster is out on the patio with Rod, note that while the manly men and manly women drink Tequila, Frankie drinks what look like Brandy. He is telling Rod how the Ranch is just paradise, paradise I say, virtually the Garden of Eden. Well with the way Frankie slithers I’ll take him at his word, (wouldn’t it just be great if he had a little sssss sound when he spoke?), he says how it is so much better than the dirty, smogging, crime infested city. Frankie then queries how do people make a living there. Rod says there are many jobs and names a long and rather boring list. Why doesn’t he just hire Frankie to carry his boom box and flip over the "Songs for My Rod" cassette? Rod says Frankie can stay there…but Frankie does not give him an answer. My husband says he is holding out for more money. Meanwhile during this manly gabfest, Gavi has crept up along with Rosa and Serafina, to gaze upon Rod, the girls having been putting away the Tequila and Gavi isn’t the least bit shy about focusing on Rod. I guess this is what girls do in places where they don’t have a car to drive past Bobby’s house all night. The girls are giggling and Gavi tells them to be quiet. Finally they say, hey we gotta get up early. Gavi just wants to stay and watch. Gavi has apparently forgot that sunup to sundown of cutting Agave is a bit much. Rod moves closer to the edge of the darkness as if he can sense Gavi in the darkness. Finally he goes in and falls on the bed fully dressed, Isa wakes up and asks if he isn’t going to put on his footed bunny sleepers, later he says. Isa can sense a disturbance in the force.

Gavi and her two new best gal pals go over to the "Burned out Shell of Misspent Dreams", the girls tell her that that is where Rod burned the bungalow down. Gavi is tortured by the thoughts of how now the dreams are gone and she is alone.

Back over in Miami, Aaron makes a little, Geez ain’t life grand speech and how happy he is that he is marrying into the fine Tequila family of Pammy. Pammy’s Pa makes a speech about how fine Don Amador was; how he contributed to more cirrhosis than any other Tequila manufacturer. There was not a sober person in the crowd. (did you notice the floor they were standing on was glass and you could see the water below? This probably has a calming effect on Pammy.) Well the servant girl comes back and tells Aaron she can’t find the passport, so Aaron has another small jaw clenching, pig snorting stroke, tears up the bedroom and threatens the servant. Fedra gives the all knowing eye to Pammy. Later Pammy & Aaron (the party is still going on) get into a clench where is grabbing her and threatening her. She accuses him of trying to hook up with Minnie and says he only wants a spawn to claim the Montalvo fortune.

Stay tuned tomorrow looks like a great show, Aaron is sporting sunglasses (covering a drug habit?), Minnie is getting out her best thong underwear, Gavi is croonin in the Agave & Isa does not disappoint in what looks to be a taupe & white stripe baby showing belly top as she confronts the crooner of tunes in the Agave fields.

New Novelas to watch for Fea fans and others

Maricela, one of our faithful readers, writes to tell us that she has stumbled on a rerun of an old novela with Angelica Vale in the cast: It's called "Mi Tele: Amigas y Rivales." It is showing on Telefutura at 7AM eastern time. Also in the cast Ludwika Paleta and our own Rene Strickler (currently on Amar).

I don't get Telefutura, although I get a zillion Spanish stations on my cable package. Darn!

Another new show is just starting on Univision. According to Maricela, Jaime Camil will be appearing. This new show is "Una Familia de 10," (sounds like Party of Five times two). It's a comedy and is showing on Friday nights at 10:30 pm eastern time.
