Lucia explains on the phone to her dad she was in the hospital and that it's getting increasingly harder to keep quiet about Alex. She urges him to tell Ivan. Gerry tells Carolina. She freaks and Alex overhears this.

Casa McGuire: Tony and Ivan talk about the JJ encounter and The Secret.

Tony: I've been told I can have a perfectly normal life, but with certain restrictions. They also said I should take little vacations by the sea. (Ivan goes to the bar) You don't look so good; it didn't go well with Mondragon?
Ivan: Papa, I'm just making one drink because didn't the doctor say...
Tony: Surprise, surprise, the doctor said one whiskey will do me very well, thankyouverymuch.
Ivan: I confronted him about my mother and told him I was his bastard.
Tony: Did he deny it?
Ivan: Yes, yes. He went nuts. Claimed not to remember her.
Tony (dismissively): He had to defend himself.
Ivan: Father, about what you advised... I asked Lucia if Alex is my son. [didn't get the rest]
Tony: So where is this going?
Ivan: There are two things: I want to know if Alex is my son and I want her.
Tony: Ay, young people are so impetuous. Wanting everything at once. For the moment concentrate on Lucia, then the boy. You have a strong ally.
Ivan: Yes, yes, but Doña Carlota will never betray her granddaughter.
Tony: Doña Carlota is a very intelligent woman and together we will find out if you are the father of this boy.


Casa Galvan: Carmen and her mother are about to argue about her encounter with Saul when Antolin comes in with food. Aracelia cuts off that conversation before Antolin can hear anything important. He reveals he knows about Camilo's lands. “In this town everyone knows.” Aracelia looks confused.

Casa Curiel: Lucrazia and Carlota talk briefly about the extortion and Lucrazia says Ivan has to pay.

Casa Lomieli: Alex calls Lucia's home and tells her to come over right away. He hangs up quickly and hides when someone calls his name. Lucia is concerned and asks Carlota what she should do.

Casa Galvan: Camilo gets home exhausted to the tamales Antolin brought when A asks him why he has to work like a donkey when he's rich.

Casa Mondragon: Esther tells David over the phone that something's wrong with JJ, who then arrives home muy boracho. Saul is holding him up; Esther is muy impactada.

Casa Galvan: Antolin demands to know how Camilo got the land since he doesn't have the money to buy it; Camilo tells him it was a birthday gift from Ivan. He also wants to know why Camilo still works for Ivan if he's now land-rich; Camilo explains that Ivan pays him well and he needs money to invest in the land. Antolin wants to become a partner but Camilo doesn't want his ill-gotten gains. This does not bode well and mamacita knows that.


Commercial Break that leads with a promo for Una Familia Con Suerte.

Casa Mondragon: Saul starts to talk, but won't in front of the servant so he tells her to leave. He reveals that JJ has a bastard son: Ivan McGuire. He seems more upset about this than JJ was, as if it were wrong for the son of a servant to become a millionaire. Esther and Judith take this very calmly, looking at him askance. This would be a joke if Saul weren't so violent in other ways.

Casa Galvan: Aracelia is trying to figure out who told Antolin about Camilo's land. She suspects Carmen, who swears she said nothing. After multiple denials she leaves for work. Her daughter asks why grownups argue all the time.

Cafe, desayuno: Esther talks to David about Ivan and the Big Scandal.

Esther: Doesn't it surprise you? Horrify you?
David: Surprise me? Yes. Horrify me? Why?
Esther: That you have a half brother who is the son of a servant. He surely must hate your father.
David: If that's true, you're right. A man impregnates a servant and doesn't take responsibility for the baby; that's a crime. In all, Ivan received me well, doesn't care about the rumors about me, cares only about my abilities. He gave me a good job.
Esther: But he is a bastard.
David: Mama, it's not his fault and it's of no importance to him.
Esther: But it matters to your father. Don't doubt that he will say something.
David: So what? I'm of age, independent, and if Papa is angry that I work for his illegitimate son, that's his problem.
Esther: Son...
David: I'm in therapy, Mother. I'm discovering things about my relationship with dad and with you.
Esther: Son, it wasn't my fault....
David: No, I know you took care of me and you tried to protect me from the hurt.
Esther: Never did I want such bad things for you.
David: It's not your fault. The problem is that my father has too much [didn't get this]
Esther: But I love your father.
David: It's just that it's a love that hurts. You need to realize your life as a woman.
Esther: But I don't know how to do this.
David: You're an intelligent woman. I'm sure you will find the way. I love you very much, Mother.
Esther: I also love you very much, son. You don't know how it pleases me that you're solving these problems. If you're getting on with Ivan, can you ask him not to say...
David: ...that he is an illegitimate son? Above all, Ivan loves his adoptive father. Loves and respects him. He's not interested in breaking that.
Esther: He might... for revenge.
David: Be calm, mother. I'll talk to him. He's not the kind of person you think.


Casa Curiel: Carlota tries to keep Lucia home, per doctor's orders, but Lucia persuades her to accompany her to her father's house. She's never met Carolina and Lucia thinks she can keep her occupied while she talks to Alex.


Ivan's Office: Ivan and David sit in the conference room and discuss Esther's imaginary scandal.

David: It was a real surprise for me.
Ivan: I imagine so.
David: And the truth is it pleases me to have a half-brother like you.
Ivan: It pleases me, too.
David: My mother, well, you know she's old-fashioned and she's worried.
Ivan: About me presuming to tell that Juan Jaime is my father?
David: Yes.
Ivan: No, no, no. It's not a source of pride that he is my father. I'm sorry, but if that bothers you...
David: No, no. One can't choose his parents.
Ivan: I'm glad you're not bothered or hurt.
David: No, no; absolutely.
Ivan: Good. Therefore, this matter is concluded.

They get up, clear up something about a check, and David leaves.


Casa Lomieli: Carolina greets Lucia, who introduces her to Carlota. She greets her graciously and Alex runs into the room and happily greets and hugs Lucia, who turns him around to face Carlota.

Lucia: I want to present you to my grandma.
Carlota: What a handsome boy! Why don't you come over and give me a kiss? (he does)
Alex: Hola, Senora.
Carlota: Don't call me “Señora”; call me “Grandma”
Alex: But, you're not my grandmother.
Carlota: Oh, but I am in a way. Lucia is your sister, no? I'm Lucia's grandmother.
Alex: Lucia is my half-sister.
Carlota: Well, then I'm your half-grandmother. But that's a little strange, so I'm your whole grandmother.
Alex: I never had grandparents so it's cool to get a grandmother.
Carlota: Of course!

She hugs Alex. Carolina is so hating every second of this. Too bad, so sad.


Ivan's Office: Ivan and Camilo discuss the lands. Camilo is getting the paperwork in order and has named the place “Rancho Galvan.” Ivan informs him that his company will extend him credit. Camilo doesn't want to borrow money; he wants to take care of things himself. He explains that Antolin wants in, but he doesn't trust him because he's friendly with Saul. He doesn't want dirty money in his business. They talk briefly about the agricultural exhibition, Camilo's wish to raise tomatoes, and how things went with Ivan's confrontation with JJ. Finally, Camilo asks if Ivan has a job for the cemetery caretaker's son, who has four children to feed. He gives Ivan the guy's address and leaves.


Agricultural Office: JJ and Saul begin discussing their evil plans. They're going to start with the Medina property, but no details yet.


Commercial Break that leads with a promo for tomorrow's Mujeres Asesinas about the sex slave who freed herself. And we thought that the citizens of Alamos had problems.


Casa Lomieli: Lucia leads Alex out as Carlota tries to talk to Carolina.

Carlota: You love the boy very much, don't you?
Carolina: Yes. My sister died when he was almost a baby. I love him very much.
Carlota: Yes, of course. You were like a mother to him. Excuse this question, but I'm an old busybody. Are you blind since birth?
Carolina: No; it was an accident. I was twelve years old. It was along with a skull fracture.
Carlota: Did you ever study?
Carolina: Yes, but my parents were of modest means and didn't have much money, but well, I'm used to it.


Outside: Lucia and Alex talk.

Lucia: The truth is your call worried me.
Alex: My father was saying some strange things. About you and...

Her cell phone rings. She checks the phone. It's Ivan, but she doesn't take his call. He calls Casa Curiel only to have the maid tell him that Lucia went out with Carlota.

Alex: They were saying that Ivan might kidnap me.
Lucia: Who said this?
Alex: My Aunt Carolina.
Lucia: Ivan is a good person. He would never hurt you.
Alex: My aunt said you were in love with him and would sooner or later tell him the truth. She was very angry. What truth were they talking about?
Lucia: I don't know. I will talk to them.
Alex: Everything's been good. We have a house by the sea. I want to see the sea. Dad promised me we'd go but he has a lot of work he needs to finish. But if Ivan wants to kidnap me...
Lucia: No, no, don't worry about that...

Gerry arrives.

Gerry: Holà, what's going on? They said you just got here. Are you feeling better?
Lucia: Yes, Dad. Much better,
Gerry (with a concerned expression): What is it, Alex?
Alex: No, nothing.
Lucia: Why don't you go back to the house and we'll come in a minute? (Alex obeys; Gerry sits on the bench) Papa, Ivan suspects. He is almost convinced that Alex is his son.
Gerry: But you knew what to say, didn't you?
Lucia: Papa, I know Carolina will be hurt and so will Alex [need help with this part] and knowing this is like a knife in my heart.
Gerry: Don't you think it will hurt Alex to know that I'm not his father?
Lucia: Of course I think about that. I've thought about it all. It's not good that he doesn't know. Last night he called me very upset because you and Carolina argued when she said Ivan would kidnap him. And neither do I want [need help here]
Gerry: No, no, of course not.
Lucia: Yesterday Ivan told me he wouldn't take him away. He doesn't want to hurt him. He only wants him to know. He has the right as the biological father. He didn't abandon him.
Gerry: But he believes I'm his father.
Lucia: You raised him. But Ivan wants to know that he's alright, happy, healthy,
Gerry: Alex is my life.. and Carolina's.
Lucia: I know, but I'm afraid she will try to turn Alex against Ivan.
Gerry: Carolina can't see. She only has Alex and me. She's been like a mother to him.
Lucia: And therefore you're still going to hide the truth from Ivan? [not sure about this one]

Casa McGuire: Carmen complains to Ivan about having to change routines and about having to care for the dog. Ivan lets her know that “In this house, the two most important people are my father and Bruno.” She complains that the dog comes in with muddy paws, messes up the furniture, and that Benito gives her hell about her issues. He tells Tony about this and Tony tells him that he doesn't trust people who don't like animals. She has to get over herself or leave.

[Sounds like a solution to me.]

Outside of Casa Lomieli: Lucia and Gerry continue talking.

Lucia: Papa, I love Ivan. I love him more than my life. Since I was a girl.
Gerry: Your sister loves him, too. And Alex is their child. Aren't you afraid that...
Lucia: No, I'm not afraid. Ivan loves me completely.
Gerry: You are a marvelous girl, but I'm worried that Ivan will leave you.
Lucia: He won't. I'm sure; I swear. That's why I don't want to go on deceiving him.
Gerry: Very well. Only you know that I have to convince Carolina.
Lucia: It's past the point we should have.
Gerry: Yes, but it isn't easy, Lucia. It's not easy.


Casa McGuire: Carmen spills dog food because she doesn't handle the bag properly. She continues to complain about Bruno. “It's me or the dog” and Benito told her where to go and she will find herself without a job. Neither he nor the cook will be sorry to see her go [and by now neither will we].

Lawyer's Office: Lucia and Carlota finish signing some docs and the lawyer tells them Ivan gave the land away, but won't say more.

Rancho Galvan: Shirtless Camilo does some digging. He puts his shirt back on at the sight of an approaching car. Lucrazia shows up to give him grief about the lack of water and how much work it will be to irrigate.. She also insults him when he makes an offer to help her in exchange for water. “I don't do business with pelados. If I wanted help I'd go to Juan Jaime Mondragon, who knows a lot more than you.” He doesn't rise to any of this, showing a lot more class than Lucrazia. He asks her to consider his offer to build canals that would serve both properties and obliges us by removing his shirt once again when Lucrazia drives off.


Commercial Break


Casa Curiel: Carlota and Lucia return and Carlota admonishes Lucia to rest. Carlota tells Gloria to bring both their dinners upstairs.

Casa McGuire: David tells Ivan that he saw Lucia at her father's house when he was passing by. Ivan's cell rings and it's Lucia, who tells him that she had accompanied Carlota to church. He asks if he can come to see her; she says yes. Carlota is getting uncomfortable with yet another lie.

Casa Lomieli: Carolina seriously needs to be locked up. Gerry looks like he's getting really tired of this.

Carolina (crying hysterically): You promised that Lucia would say nothing.
Gerry: Yes, but Ivan is suspicious. I have to make a decision. It's better to be upfront with him.
Carolina (clutching his lapels): No! Por favor, don't say anything, I beg you, don't say anything! [more of the same ad nauseum]
Gerry: Por favor, Carolina. Try to understand. Lucia feels very bad. She loves Ivan. She doesn't want to keep secrets from him knowing how desperate he is to find his son.
Carolina: I can't believe that you're more interested in Ivan and Lucia than Alex. I dedicated my life to taking care of him. I was like a mother to him. Did you never consider that?
Gerry: Of course I did. I'm grateful for everything you've done, I'm in debt to you.
Carolina: You would take away what I love most in life? It doesn't matter that it would break my heart?
Gerry: Por Dios, Carolina! Ivan doesn't want to take him away. He just wants to know that he's well, happy (etc) Lucia swore to it.
Carolina (now getting vicious): And you believe her? Of course he will take him away. We will never see him again. He'll take him to the United States away from us leaving us with our sadness. Is this what you want?
Gerry: Basta!

He stomps out of the room, leaving Carolina crying.

Casa Curiel: Ivan comes to see Lucia, who doesn't admit to having seen Alex in person.
They talk about inviting her and Carlota and Gerry having too much work to take Alex to the seashore. It wouldn't be good for him to be the only kid not to get a vacation. He suggests that they go there with friends and announce their engagement since it's been a while since he gave her the ring. Muchos besos. Sounds like he invited himself there. It also sounds like he wants to use the place for their first round of Hide the Chorizo and that he intends to take precautions. Muchos besos and Lucia is no shrinking violet.

Casa McGuire Tony and Ivan discuss Lucia's latest lie.

Ivan: She lied again. She keeps on lying.
Tony: It's her father, Ivan. At best I don't think she wants to lie to you. [?]
Ivan: It's about Alex.
Tony: [?]
Ivan: I don't like that she keeps telling me lies.
Tony: I don't think she wants to. Then what? You go to the shore with Lucia, Carlota, and the boy? What are you looking to do?
Ivan: To have a good time; I'm going to talk to Dona Carlota and Ingeniero Gerardo


Casa Curiel: Lucia worries about the vacation.

Carlota: Ay, hija; I don't know.
Lucia: What's wrong, Grandma?
Carlota: Nothing, but I doubt your father agreed. I'm afraid Ivan will tell Alex that he is his father.
Lucia: He's going to ask Carolina's permission.
Carlota: That's worse. She's been so stubborn about your father telling Ivan the truth.

Lucia's cell rings. It's Camilo asking after her health. There are two crows directly in his path facing him as he talks. Sadly he's wearing the plaid shirt. He asks to see her tomorrow; she seems to have no clue as to the real reason. She congratulates him on his windfall, saying that the property is in good hands. He initially didn't want to accept it, but now intends to make it productive.

Lucrazia returns with disparaging words about Camilo. She and Carlota disagree on his competence and on the deal Camilo proposed about the irrigation canals. Lucrazia would rather deal with JJ. Carlota reminds her that she is the owner of the property. Lucrazia is put out that Carlota is taking her authority away from her after all these years. Carlota tells her that a young capable man will be a good thing, but Lucrazia is determined to believe that Camilo will be just as dishonest as her past administrators have been.

Carlota: And you think Juan Jaime has never stolen from anyone? He has the most of everyone in this town and everybody is afraid to denounce him.
Lucrazia: He may have stolen from everyone else, but not from me. (She picks up her purse and exits. Carlota motions for Lucia to come closer. It's Family Secret Time).

Carlota: Because your mother and Juan Jaime were novios when they were young she still thinks he is frozen in ice [still the same]. Only the wolf can change his hair and turn vicious.
Lucia (looking a little amused): If they were so much in love why didn't they get married?

Carlota starts to say something but then says she doesn't know. Lucia isn't buying it, but isn't that eager to interrogate her. Lucrazia is obviously oblivious to JJ's real intentions.


Commercial Break starting with a promo for Telefutura's Infiltrados


Pool Hall: Camilo sees Antolin go in with El Gordo and Saul. They talk about starting their evil deeds that evening. Just the three of them, nobody else. Saul slides the envelope with the money across the table, checking to see that nobody's looking. Antolin grabs it before El Gordo can touch it. Apparently the Mondragon property will be affected so as to avert suspicion from them. Merry Piece calls Antolin to express fear about the extortionist; he tells her he took care of it. She invites him over and he begs off until the next day. [My gut is telling me he's not too eager to involve himself with her.] Saul wants to involve Camilo, but Antolin lets him know that his family is off limits.

Casa Lomieli: Carolina calls Alex in and sits on the couch.

Carolina: Sit down. Alex, a man, a bad man wants to hurt you.
Alex: Who, tia?
Carolina: Don't forget that your papa is your papa and I'm your aunt. And I love you more than my life. Si.

The poor boy looks confused and a little scared as Carolina hugs him.


Esa hembre es mala. As in sick. In absence of the truth she is – intentionally or otherwise – going to make this child believe that Ivan is a pedophile.

Closing credits with great shirtless shots of Camilo. He wasn't Mr Mexico for nothing.


Avances: It's war. Not just on the land front but between Ivan and Camilo over Lucia.

The final hour approaches. Cata and Josecito visit Pola in the jail. Cata has brought the best dress she has left for Pola to wear when she faces the firing squad. Josecito tells her he is no longer going to be a priest. Pola figures out that she is the problem.

Francisco turns up at the jail and tries to say goodbye to Alejo. Alejo tells him that he won’t be executed because Pola, a woman he doesn’t deserve, is going to die for him. Francisco later visits Pola who has received the pardon papers from Herrera. She gives Francisco the papers. When the Spaniards learn that she does not have the papers, they pursue Francisco and get them from him.

When the soldiers go to Pola's cell, her brother José is among the group of priests sent to accompany her. They make amends

Pedrito and the Almeida brothers race towards Santa Fé.

A large crowd is gathered in the square. Sámano has Pola’s friends brought out. He wants a couple of them to be executed in front of her. She is brought out. Francisco yells at her and tells her that the pardon papers have been taken and warns her not to recant. Arcos and Arellano are executed. Sámano thinks that women are weak and that when she sees this, she will try to save herself.

It is now Polá turn to stand before the firing squad.

REPRISE
When we last left our little arribista, she was thrown in the middle of Arturo and Fernando, as they argued over her. They beseech her to affirm once and for all, which Sugar-Daddy she wants.

Teresa nervously ponders and says, “Arturo, you know, you and I are getting divorced.”


“Then your ambition carries more weight than your love for me”, Arturo says, dejected. “If you had told me that you fell in love with another, perhaps one day I could understand, but you’re leaving me for your [financial] interest..."

Fernando interrupts, “Teresa LOVES ME, is that so hard to understand?”

Arturo warns Fernando to enjoy her while he can: when she’s being pampered, Teresa will be by his side. If that changes, she’ll abandon him. Arturo throws the keys to the penthouse at Fernando, and then storms out.

Fernando and Teresa embrace and kiss, as she secretly agonizes for Arturo.






LUCIA'S HOME
Arturo has arrived at Lucia’s home. Luisa is staying there too. Arturo vents about what a bastard Fernando is and what just happened at the penthouse. Arturo says he needs a drink but Lucia intervenes.


PENTHOUSE
Fernando says, “Teresa, many think you're with me just for your financial interest. My mom insists that you...“

Teresa angrily interrupts, “Fernando, ENOUGH! Frankly if your money is going to be a problem, rather than a means to give pleasure and satisfaction, I’ll be WORSE OFF with you then I was with Arturo!!” She just can’t believe Oriana’s bad attitude! (Why, it’s giving her the vapors!)

Fernando says it’s a good thing that Teresa’s love for him is genuine because Oriana is separating her business holdings from Fernando and disinheriting him. Teresa is horrified!

Teresa regains her arribista composure, “It is unfortunate that your mother does not respect your decisions and treats you like a child who is punished for not doing what she wants.” Fernando totally agrees. Teresa feigns encouragement and promises to stand by her Sugar-Daddy.


GENO'S HOME
Geno is berating Ruben for being gone all day and not answering his phone. Geno warns him not to mess with her – when she calls he better answer, and she does not want him doing business with Fito.

Ruben says Geno only gives him crumbs and he can’t continue this way. Geno asks if this means he’s leaving her. Ruben says he has to look for work. Even if he has to defend criminals, whatever it takes.

Ruben dramatically pretends he’s leaving. He says his son is the only thing they had in common. He loves Geno, but can’t stand her attitude any longer and how she is always against him, as he starts to walk out.

Geno, begs him to wait and not to be angry, as she offers to give him back his testicles. Ruben says he’ll stay, but needs her to support him.



PENTHOUSE
Our favorite gata is having a gata nightmare. Teresa dreams she is surrounded by Mariano, Arturo, and Fernando as they pass her around to each other. (So many Sugar-Daddies, so little time). In her dream, Fernando says, “Now you're mine, Teresa, you are my prisoner”. Then she hears her father saying “Do the right thing”.

She wakes up bitterly crying as she reaches for her picture of her father, saying “Forgive me pappito. You know I love you. I love you very much...”




CHAVES HOME
Juana and her new brain-dead husband Sapberto come over to comfort Refugio. Actually Juana came over to comfort her. Jerkberto came over to say inappropriate things and make an ass of himself. Mission accomplished.


PENTHOUSE
Arturo arrives the next morning to pick up his belongings and doesn’t want to run into Fernando. Teresa tells him Fernando doesn’t live there, which he doesn’t believe, and of course they start arguing.

Arturo says he will have the divorce papers delivered today. Teresa’s anguish is evident. He gives her a card with his new address. She asks if it’s a rental home, but no, he’s going to be staying with Lucia.

Teresa practically bursts into flames with anger. She can’t believe he’s going to live with her. Arturo says he’s not like Teresa, managing multiple relationships. He accepted her offer to stay there and after the divorce, who knows, he may go for it, because she has shown an interest in him.

Teresa walks off in a huff, leaving him to gather his clothes. She lays on the sofa fuming, and crying.

Arturo sees that she’s very upset.








LUCIA'S HOME
Lucia confesses to Luisa that she sees Arturo in a romantic way, not just as her brother. She says he’s a great person. She tells Luisa that Arturo kissed her the other night when he was drunk, thinking she was Teresa.

Luisa supports the idea of a relationship budding between Arturo and Lucia. Their conversation is interrupted by a call from Fernando. Luisa wants nothing to do with him, so Lucia takes the call.
Fernando wants to give Luisa the mansion, as it has been in her family for generations. Fernando has a notary standing by to put the home in Luisa’s name. Lucia tells him Luisa wants no part of it. She doesn’t want Fernando trying to make up for what he did.


HECTOR'S OFFICE
Hernan is confiding in Hector that Esperanza refuses to be happy and is becoming more distant. He’s beginning to wonder if Esperanza agreed to be his wife just to give her child a father. Hector suggests that Hernan get her into therapy.

The subject changes to Aurora and Mariano. Hector doubts Mariano has changed. Hernan tells him not to be so rigid. Based on what he saw at Armando’s funeral, Mariano has gotten over Teresa.


LEDESMA HOME
Ruben is at the door and Esperanza tries to keep him from entering. He forces his way in. Ruben says he has been researching the baby’s whereabouts on his own and has clues. He can’t tell the police because the baby’s life is at risk.


He says this is her last chance to see her son. He promises he can get her son returned, but in exchange he wants her to leave Hernan and once again be with him. Ruben says he still loves her and “knows” she loves him. He is under the delusion that Esperanza only married Hernan for convenience. Esperanza tells him it’s not like that.


Ruben continues his delusion and says he wants Espe, Rodrigo, and he to be a family. He forces a kiss on her and then leaves. Esperanza wipes her mouth in disgust and is confused about what to do.

CHAVES HOME
Aurora and Mariano stop by to visit Refugio. FF>>


PENTHOUSE
Teresa tells Arturo he still loves her, even if he is living at Lucia’s house. She kisses him passionately. Arturo pulls away and says that may be, but he will forget her. He grabs his suitcase and leaves. Teresa cries and chases after him, to no avail.


HECTOR'S OFFICE
Mariano enters and tries to assure Hector that he loves Aurora. He explains they are novios. Hector objects for the thousandth time that Mariano is going to chase after Teresa and hurt Aurora. Mariano doesn’t want to cause problems between Hector and Aurora, especially since she no longer has her mother. Mariano proposes a truce: can they just get along for Aurora’s sake. The ball is in Hector's court.


CHAVES HOME
Teresa visits Refugio. They talk about Refugio starting over in life and Teresa says she will help take care of her. Teresa even suggests that Refugio could become more cultured – travel, go to concerts, get some schooling - which gives Refugio a good laugh.

The subject changes to Arturo and Teresa explains she’s getting a divorce. She lies that Arturo fell in love with another woman and went to live with her.

Teresa calls Fernando who is at the fancy Tennis Club. Fernando is upset that Teresa didn’t let him stay with her last night. She rolls her eyes like he’s such a schmuck. She says it’s just because she was depressed about her dad. She fakes some kissy-kissy affection for her new Sugar Daddy and says she’ll meet him at the club.


VECINDAD
Juana tells Patty that she is moving forward in earnest to adopt a child.





LUCIA'S HOME
Arturo is working from Lucia’s home. He and Lucia seem to be starting a friendship. He mentions that Teresa was furious about him living there. Lucia says she is obviously still jealous.

Lucia suggests Arturo think about rebuilding his life. She tells him they are a good team and she wants to work with him on that. They start playfully putting a list together of activities to help Art get back on track.


TENNIS CLUB
Oriana and Fernando argue about separating their business interests. Fernando wants to minimize the impact and keep the business growing. Oriana is willing to lose money so that Teresa has less. She would rather her money went to stray dogs than to Teresa.

Fernando has had enough, gets up, and yells, “Okay. As you want, mama. Prepare a proposal for the separation.”

Oriana gets in one more jab before he leaves. “If you are so sure that Teresa loves you, why were she and Arturo comforting each other at her father’s funeral?” she snarls. Fernando shakes his head in disbelief and leaves.


Oriana is heartbroken.

She can't believe it has come to this.

Aida arrives as Oriana is choking down pills. Aida asks what’s wrong. Oriana explains that Fer won’t give up Teresa, so she’s going to have to take extreme measures.


LEDESMA HOME
Hernan and Esperanza apologize for their dust up in the previous episode. Esperanza agrees to try therapy, but doesn’t want to lose time looking for Rodrigo. She doesn’t mention Ruben’s visit.


GENO'S HOME
Geno agrees to fund the “hit” on Mariano. (She still thinks it’s just to beat him up). She also gives Ruben a check for his expenses. He’s very disappointed at the amount. His Sugar-Momma tells him he shouldn’t need much, as he was talking earlier about getting a job as a defense attorney. Ruben looks mortified as Geno has apparently called his bluff.


Geno hopes Ruben will earn a lot and then they can move far away and start a new life. Ruben tries to tactfully restrain that idea by saying he doesn’t want to be away from Aida until she’s gotten over what’s about to happen to Mariano. (By the way, I call dibs on Aurora!)


MARIANO'S OFFICE
Aurora tells Mariano her exam is tomorrow.

Luisa walks in and wants to thank Aurora for her support. She behaved like a true friend; such a difference from Teresa. She also apologizes to Mariano. She now sees that Mariano was not at all the way Teresa portrayed him.


TENNIS CLUB
Teresa has arrived at the club looking for Fernando. Oriana spots her and insults her for being out having fun when she just buried her father. Oriana growls, "So what else should I expect from someone like you, Teresa, who has no regard for anyone."

Teresa innocently says everything would be so different if Oriana would just accept her.

Oriana is seething. She says she’d rather be DEAD first than to accept Teresa as part of her family and warns that SHE'S NOT PLAYING AROUND!


Teresa gives her phony line that she doesn’t care about Fer’s money because her love is greater.

Oriana snarls, “We’ll see if you still love now that Fernando will lose my money, and I will fight him for the inheritance his father left for him.”

“WHO SAYS??!!” growls our astonished arribista.

... and tantrum man and tantrum boy have fits‏

Connie fights with Pepa, threatens she will prove Fina and Pepa are one and the same… they insult each other ‘fed up with you!’… Connie says won’t rest until Pepa is in jail for her crimes… Pepa laughs at her… then tries to choke her… Connie shakes herself off, but Pepa grabs the glass vase off the coffee table and smashes it on Connie’s head… then grabs metal statue and hits Connie with it too… Blood puddle below Connie’s head, that looks pretty bad… Pepa grabs her scarf and cleans her fingerprints off the statue and starts messing up the room/house to fake as if it was a common burglary… steals the jewelry from Connie’s bedroom drawer chest. (grabbing everything with the scarf so as to not to leave fingerprints.. but who knows if she slipped some.) When leaving, Pepa actually looks a bit startled/scared. (not knowing if Connie is alive or not.)

At La Bonita, Ezeq comes to see Lazaro and tells him about Melesio at ‘La Aurora’ ranch… Melesio has some sarmiento (vine bud) for Augie… very valuable. Ezeq tells Lazaro that he thinks that sarmiento is from La Bonita. Tells him about asking Augie about it and Augie saying the only extremely valuable bud around is the La Bonita one. Ezeq tells Lazaro his suspicion is that if Augie begins to plant the same sarmiento as La Bonita’s he will become Jero’s competition. Lazaro is very impactado/irritated.

Pepa arrives home very scared/startled… startles Berta… Pepa even manhandles Berta saying you will stay around… Berta asks what is going on, Pepa says have to leave for a few days… bring the luggage!! Had a huge confrontation with Connie and don’t know if that will have grave consequences for me. Berta whines about Pepa leaving her behind alone… Pepa needs her to keep an eye and ear for her… for EVERYTHING, heard me?? Berta does not want Pepa to just dissappear. Pepa is trying to run out, but Gonzo arrives and asks where they are going with that luggage.

We see Connie still unconscious.

Kari is worried about not finishing her wedding dress in time… The other girls offer to help her. Carlos startles Mati just as she is saying they miss Jero the hermoso. They all rush to use the dining room table to cut the material for Kari’s wedding gown before Jero gets back.

Gonzo says just want to know why you are leaving in such a hurry… Fina says need space. Gonzo says came to talk to you because I am reasonable, civilized…
F: After all you have done to me nothing surprises me.
G: After what I have done to you? What about what you have done to your daughter and to me? There are no words to tell you how much I despise you.
F: IF you only came to offend me, you better leave.
G: Don’t play the offended. IT doesn’t fit you after all the messes you have made.
F: If you would rather believe others, go ahead. After all you stopped trusting me and loving me long ago.
G: Love you? And you, Fina, did you ever love me?
F: What use would it do for me to tell you? You already judged me and condemned me. Of course, in the way that is most convenient for you.
G: Excuse me? What is most convenient for me?
F: OF course. You are convinced I never loved you. That I was with you only for your money. Just so you can clear up your conscience. And to feel at ease with your lover.
G: Enough! You know you are banned from speaking like that of Regina!
F: And I don’t let you come to MY house to speak to me that way. Or what? Did you come to tell me that this is no longer my house? That you will back up on your word?
G: I am a man of my word. Don’t worry that I will come through with it. But don’t count on my support. After all you and Roberta have done, enough, Fina. My relationship with you and Berta is over for good.
Fina whispers too bad your wishes won’t come true, Gonzo.

Petra the maid finds Connie on her floor… gets freaked out… then calls Honorio, who is at the office with Matias going over the great accomplishments of the company in last 48 hrs. Petra tells Hono that Connie looks as if she were dead. Hono runs out asking Matt to call for an ambulance for his house… Petra then runs out and gets Gonzo.

At the office, Matt has run into Renata and Adri. At the elevator they run into Augie who jumps on the bandwagon heading to the hospital.

Gonzo is asking Petra what happened. She already called Hono. She asks him if Sra Constanza will get well. He can’t respond anything.

Pepa calls Regina to advance the due date of the money, two days… Gina says can’t get that money in 2 days. But Pepa threatens forget your daughter if you don’t have the money in 48 hrs. Pepa says things have changed, so she needs the money faster. Gina says all these years without my daugher have been like being dead alive (yada yada… heard this before… lets move on). Pepa says you messed with Antonio and then with Gonzo.. Gina surprised Pepa knows so much. Pepa says know every move of yours. So don’t dare tell anyone about it. Gina says will try to get as much as I can. Pepa says no, not ‘as much’, the whole amount I asked. Pepa hangs up. Gina calls the only source she knows of for that kind of money… She summons Jero to her office right away.

Gonzo tries to calm down Hono over phone. Go directly to the hospital and meet us there. Hono wants the truth, Gonzo says he can barely feel a pulse… it does not look good. But lets not lose the faith. My God!... lets not lose the faith… lets not lose it.

Fina is about to leave. She tells Berta that Gonzo came to argue about them, so he does not know about Connie yet. They are relieved. Fina tells Berta don’t get lost, we will have to advance our plans.

Padre visits Marina… she is about to buy some things and then to the airport to pick up Jero. Padre is outraged she is planning to go alone. She leaves and he says, ‘love, love’.

At hospital Gonzo meets up with Hono, Matias, Nata and Adri… Gonzo called the police captain to start the investigation. Everything was roughed up, as if someone had been looking for something. Hono is worried about losing her now that he finally got her back. Gonzo insists they have to have faith… Connie is having head surgery…

Hono is suspecting Blanca had to do with this attack on Connie. Gonzo is not so sure.
But he will tell the cop so they can explore all possibilities.

Jero arrives at Gina’s office. She is desperate. HE is very conforting. She needs a huge favor. Need a big amount of money. He asks for the center? No. But they told me not to tell anyone… but have to tell you because otherwise you won’t understand why I need so much money. What is it about? The rescue of my daughter. (Jero impactado)

At hotel, Fina is taking a good amount of pills… very anxious… takes another look at Connie’s jewelry… wonders what happened. If connie speaks, all her plans are ruined. No!! I won’t allow that!!

J: That woman had her all this time??
G: Yes! And she made her believe she was her mother!
J: Miserable..
G: Now you understand why I am so desperate?
J: Its understandable, Gina. But you can’t give her that amount of money without knowing for sure it is your daughter.
G: I know. I demanded a DNA test and she agreed. That is why I have no doubts she has her.
J: Then she has been watching you all this time. Otherwise she would not know so much about you and your life.
G: She confessed it to me. That is why you can’t tell anyone anything, please! Because if she finds out that you know, I don’t know what she will do to you and my daughter!
J: here here.. please.. please don’t worry, you know you can count on me and my discretion. But something is not adding up here. Something must have happened for her to change her mind about the time she gave you. Somehow it is not urgent for her to get that money from you.
G: I thought that too. It is not logical that she needs all that money overnight.
J: Could the police be after here, and she needs to leave the country and that is why she needs the money faster?
G: Perhaps, but I don’t care. Once she gives me my daughter, she can do whatever.
J: Aren’t you going to press charges against her?
G: What for?
J: What do you mean what for? To do justice!
G: The damage is done already, Jero. All the years I was away from my daughter… I wont’ get them back sending her to jail. Even if Pepa rotted in jail, that will do me no good.

Eventually Jero assures Gina he can get that money to her in time. She swears she will pay him. He says don’t worry. What is important is to recover your daughter. She cries very thankful. (Hey AH, can I borrow some money too?) The phone rings again. Gonzo calls her to tell her about Connie. Jero says he was just talking to Connie a while ago. Gina invites him to come along, Jero is not sure it is right for him to but he does tag along.

The maid Eulalia comes to ‘tell’ Berta what happened at Connie’s. Some ‘burglars’ hit your aunt on the head. Left a puddle of blood… Don’t know if she died… Berta gets nervous. Berta calls her mom, asks her what she did to Connie. Fina tells Berta she had to hit Connie because she was going to tell Gina that she stole her daughter.

Berta asks her if she really wanted to kill her, Fina says no I did not mean to, got panicked and all I could think of was to hit her so she would shut up. Berta stays anxious thinking it had to be an accident, that her mom could not intentionally do that. She does not want to be alone so she calls Selene. Sele is at a disco… Berta wants Sele to tell her where she is so she can catch up with her to have drinks. Sele won’t tell her where she is… Berta calls Sele ungrateful, Sele says and you are a bad friend. Sele fakes that she is with Diego. Berta says you better choose your friends better. Sele says that is what I am doing, that is why I am with him and not with you.

Carlos and Lazaro are talking about the sarmiento that Ezeq told him about. Lazaro says Augie has always wanted to get his hands on the sarmiento of La Bonita. And you know his ways. Carlos agrees. Carlos comes up with the perfect excuse to go to Augie’s lands. Bring him more of the mix for the plague… via Ezequiel.

Ines/Isidro… she tells him about Connie… it went well for him. He seems distant. She asks him not to be mad at her. He doesn’t’ like it either. HE can’t understand so much resistance to the change/move. She says its been a very hard few months with Andresito’s illness.. thinking of one more change terrifies her. HE asks why didn’t she tell him that way before. He says this chance came unsolicited and at this late stage in his career… they share ‘proud of you, proud of you being so extraordinary’ compliments. He says if you don’t want to move, we won’t. She says she does not want that, so he gets irritated ‘then what do you want to do?’ She asks him for a couple of days to digest the idea and then they can talk about it again in a couple days.

Berta is in the company of a bottle of wine… she is definitely feeling lonely. At her hotel, Fina is mocking Connie’s cheap jewelry… she tells herself that maybe Berta is not as strong as she was because she has always enabled her. If connie does not die and goes after her, she will have to resort to faking being crazy… noone will think of it twice. Nata is already convinced that she was crazy and had to visit a psychiatrist. If she finds herself cornered, that will be her out. She will never put a foot in jail… never!

Gina and Jero arrive to the hospital. Everyone is glad and thankful for Gina to be there… Jero walks in after her. Augie walks to confront him right away. Hono and Gonzo thank Jero for coming. Gina explains Jero was with her when Gonzo called her.
The nurse summons Honorio to fill out the admission paperwork. Adri goes with him.

Gonzo is embracing Nata and Gina… Augie and Jero exchange daring stares…

Somewhere in airport, Marina is waiting for Jero…

Augie confronts Jero… (Tantrum man strikes again)
A: You can see Connie is well attended, it is not necessary that you stay.
J: You want me to leave?
A: There are too many people. And of all here, you are the one that needs to be here the least.
J: And just because you are engaged to Renata that gives you the right to order around?
Matt: What are you saying, Jero?? What do you mean Nata is engaged to Augie? (And why should you care, tantrum boy??)
J: (Nata came in with Matt) Forgive me, I did not realize you had not told your family that you are engaged TO MARRY with Dunant.

Previews: Jealousy confrontations … Jero tells Gina everything is lost, things went too far.
Augie kisses Nata.. (voiceover: Everything seems to indicate that Augie won the battle, BUT..)
Nata: I need for you to forgive me. Can you forgive me?
J: Anytime you need me, I will be there for you. (Nata kisses him on cheek, near lips.)

OK. We figure life must have gotten in the way of Jules being able to get the recap up, so I am posting this discussion page for those eager to discuss the major events of last night.

Off the top of my head:
-Gina meets Pepa/Fina face to face after over 24 years, in the same park Regina Jr. was stolen from. She ditches her body guards along the way. Pepa/Fina mocks her and basically threatens to kill her daughter if Gina doesn't give her the money and keep her mouth shut. She gives Gina Berta’s ‘R’ necklace as proof of life.
-Soto meets with Matias and tells him he created a super duper secret clause in the marriage contract that will allow Matias to get out of his marriage with Berta, ASAP. Happy, happy, joy, joy. He's still fired though.
-Honorio tells Gonzo about Blanca's call. They inform the cops.
-Chema visits Adri at the office and asks if the reason she is hesitant about him is because of his past involvement with her step-mom and how her dad would feel. Matias secretly listens in as she agrees that is part of the reason. He leaves before she mentions the biggest source of hesitation are her feelings for Matias.
-Nata and Jero reenact their very first meeting by running into, and falling on top of, each other at the bank. She thanks him for convincing the bank to change their mind about the loans to the MRs. She asks why he did it. He fudges and says he did it for her dad and for Matias, to make up for ruining their friendship by falling in love with Nata. They are interrupted before Nata can get the real truth out of him. They stare at each other wistfully.
-At the office, Honorio and Matias inform Nata that the money must have come from Jero's personal account, and NOT the bank. Matias is sure that Jero did it to hold it over their heads. He tries to convince Nata of this.
-Adri thinks Jero gave them the loans because he obviously loves Nata. Nata tries to convince herself that Jero must have had bad intentions, because if she doesn't make herself think badly of him or remember all the bad things he has done to her, she will never stop loving him. Nata calls Jero to confirm the loan came from him personally and not the bank. He doesn't deny it and hangs up on her when she starts insisting on paying him back and questioning his motives.
-Connie sneaks into Fina's office and takes post-it notes with samples of her handwriting. She also takes a photo of her. She is caught by Berta as she is leaving with these docs in a folder. Connie says she came for docs her brother wanted. Berta makes a stink, but can't stop her. Connie later gives the post-its to Jero.
-Berta tells Fina about Connie's visit. They look through the desk, but the only thing she notices is missing is the photo.
-Fina confronts Connie in her home. Connie does not let on about the handwriting/Rafa murder suspicions. But she lets Fina know she took the photo to show Gina to prove she is Pepa-- the woman who stole her daughter, who Connie is sure is Nata.
-Fina smashes a vase against the back of Connie's head, and hits her in the head with a metal statue while she's down. Connie is left looking lifeless in a pool of her blood!

Almost forgot the Wine Country:
-The two couples are happy, happy, and decide on a double wedding.
-I guess Padre doesn't know Alvaro is not dead afterall (I was wrong) because he happily agrees to marry Kari and Laz.
-The stolen mother vine from La Bonita is not doing well. Looks like it has "La Plaga." Augie's vine-sitter is forced to call Cruz de Amor to give the bad news. He gives Zeke a cryptic message to give Augie who is in D.F. and can't leave until he's locked Nata down. Augie tells Zeke to take care of it.
-Zeke finds the vine-sitter, decides the La Bonita super duper Plaga Remedy is the only hope, and tries to find out why this particular shoot is so important. The vine-sitter says he doesn't know, but Zeke is starting to be pretty sure it must be a La Bonita shoot, meaning Augie stole it.

Although the guards are suspicious, Lopecito is successful in pretending to be a sick Alejo. Alejo holds his hand to the fire longest and wins the right to be with Pola, whom he admits is his novia. In just a little bit of time, they profess their undying love to one another and finally Pola loses her virtúd. She wants him to think that it was María Ignacia who has saved his life, but he tells her that it was María Ignacia who turned them in. Pola still thinks if she recants publicly, that she will save Alejo’s life. Sámano has other plans. He orders Herrera to make sure the sealed document (Alejo’s pardon) Pola has asked him for disappears. Then there is a report of trouble in the jail. Sámano sends Herrera, whom he has stripped of his colonel’s epaulets to the jail to make sure all is well. The lovers are never discovered, Alejo makes it back to his cell and Lopecito gets back in his uniform…..

ARMANDO’S WAKE: Johnny/Pati drag Teresa away in tears as Arturo speaks with Refugio (who continues to call him El Licenciado). They speak of Armando and she says he had great affection for Arturo. She realizes he and Teresa continue to have problems due to his alcoholism but she knows Teresa loves him very much. She suggests he get help from AA so they can return to the happiness they shared when they returned from Europe. He must realize that life will take away that which is most precious to you when you least expect it. She sobs over the casket. He hugs her and swears to her he loves Teresa more than life itself.

RESTAURANT: Aurora tells Mariano he has no idea how happy this ring makes her. It’s beautiful but she’s not sure about getting married just yet. He understands she’s not ready to take that step now and is willing to wait until she is. He tells her to keep the ring because it’s his way of telling her that he plans to spend the rest of his life with her. He says the day he sees her wear it, he’ll know she’s ready to get married.

THE FOLLOWING DAY IN MARIANO’S APT, shriekster Aida has come by for coffee and they’re talking about the TER/FER/ART situation. She can’t believe Teresa has the nerve to dump Arturo for someone with more money. She thinks Mariano should speak to Fernando to help him understand how conniving Teresa is. Mariano explains he already tried to speak to Fernando, but he misunderstood, thinking instead that Mariano is interested in Teresa. Frankly, he doesn’t want to risk his relationship with Aurora by getting mixed up in this mess. Aida asks if he’d be willing to try again if she’s able to convince Fernando to listen. Would he tell all? Mariano refuses, saying he doesn’t want to become embroiled in gossip. Wow, Mr. Buttinski is refusing to get involved – I’m amazed. He says Fernando is in lurve and won’t listen to reason. He doesn’t understand why Aiiiiida would want him to get involved. Aida doesn’t think Teresa should get away with this. Mr. Buttinski tells the Shriekster to butt out. He thinks this is just another one of Aida’s plots of revenge. As her friend, he tells her she should get on with life and forget about Teresa. She’ll never be happy if all she thinks about is revenge.

SALON DE BELLEZA: Luisa gets her hair done and Lucia tells her she looks beautiful but she’s worried Luisa may getting her hopes up. Luisa tells her not to worry. Fernando’s the one who called, saying he wanted to see her, asking for forgiveness and saying he never intended to hurt her. She wants to show up looking beautiful, strong, and confident. Oriana has suggested this is how Fernando must see her. Lucia asks if she needs her to go along. Luisa prefers to go alone. Oh my, like a little lamb on her way to the slaughterhouse!

ARMANDO’S WAKE: The priest prays over the casket. Mariano and Aurora arrive and she goes to Teresa. Aurora tells her she’s seen the way she looks at Arturo and can tell she loves him and that he adores her. If he’s here despite everything that’s gone down with Fernando, it must mean something. She pleads with Teresa that if she loves Arturo she should stay with him. It’s possible the relationship between Luisa and Fernando can’t be fixed, but her relationship with Arturo can still be saved. Teresa always finds a way to justify her actions and get what she wants. She tells her not to do to Arturo what she did to Mariano.

Meanwhile, Arturo takes Mariano into the other room to talk. He knows Mariano warned Luisa about Fernando and now asks him to tell everything he knows. They take the conversation outside.

CASA DE FERNANDO: Meathead is on the phone talking to someone about whether or not to continue with the Luna Turqueza project. Luisa walks in and she tells him she wasn’t able to sleep after what he said. He tells her he meant everything he said. He’s very sorry he hurt her. She admits it was terrible but she’s so happy he’s taken it all back (recapacitado). He tries to interject but she stops him. She’s willing to forgive him because she loves him and nothing matters more to her than to be with him. She suggests they go somewhere far away from everything and begin anew. She’ll talk to Arturo and knows he’ll understand. They don’t even need to get married. They can continue living together and do all those things they had planned. He gently takes her hands and asks her to stop. She’s apparently misunderstood, he only wanted her forgiveness. Luisa’s impactada!

VECINDAD: The Suckers in Solidarity strengthen their bond: Arturo and Mariano are now outside as Mariano explains he wanted to warn Luisa after what he found out in Zacatecas. Then he heard Teresa talking to Fernando on the phone at Espe’s house and that’s when he told her she should talk to Arturo. The important thing now is that he now knows everything. Arturo finds it ironic that he now finds himself in Mariano’s place. He can now fully understand how Mariano felt back then. Mariano agrees but says the outcome shouldn’t be the same. It took a long time for him to understand everything Teresa did. At least Arturo now knows what’s going on. It’s much worse for him – it involves his best friend and his sister is caught in the middle.

CASA FERNANDO: It’s now dawning on Luisa that Fernando didn’t call her here to mend their relationship. He tells her there’s no use. She pleads with him, saying their love was too great for him to just end it from one day to the next. She loves him. He pleads with her not to continue. He tells her he no longer loves her. “No puede ser,” is all she can say. She wonders what she did wrong, how did she disappoint him? Of course she did nothing wrong, it’s just that he fell in love with Teresa. She grabs him by the lapels and demands to know how that happened. He doesn’t know how it happened. He only knows that his feelings grew stronger each time he saw the Sharkster. He knows he should have talked to her about it, but he couldn’t. She wishes he had told her. At least then she could have fought for him and shown him what she’s capable of doing to show her love for him. **I cringe** He doesn’t understand why she doesn’t hate him. She says she can’t hate him, her love for him is stronger than any resentment. She tells him that’s true love and what Teresa feels for him is not.

ARMANDO’S WAKE: Arturo and Mariano return but Arturo has one more question: How did Mariano get Teresa out of his heart? Mariano admits it wasn’t easy but he thinks it was when he realized she loved Arturo, or at least that’s what it appeared to be. It took some time, but he eventually fell in love with Aurora and she makes him happy. Teresa walks in just then, wondering what is going on. Aurora follows just behind her to tell her the representatives from the funeral home (funeraria) have arrived.

CASA FERNANDO: Nando feels badly about what’s happened. He knows he’s hurt her but in the end, it’s just his nature **the cad!** he just wasn’t able to resist the temptation of another woman. Luisa tearfully asks if this is why he called her here. He’s sorry if she misunderstood. He only wanted to apologize again and tell her he’s leaving the house, he bought it for her. She lashes out at him, reminding him that was because they were getting married! He can keep the house; he can keep everything. She wants him! She could care less about anything else he could give her!

ARMANDO’S WAKE: Refugio opens the casket to say her final farewell to her beloved husband. As everyone begins to cry, she gives thanks to God for having been with such a good man, for everything they built together. They had many dreams. Not all of them came true but he was always there for her and their daughters. He was a good husband and father. She’s going to miss him so much. She falls on the casket and Teresa pulls her back and they cry together. She continues by saying she and Teresa are now alone, but they will honor his memory by living a dignified life as he himself taught them. She cries out “Armando! Armando!” , Teresa cries out “Papa! Papa!”. The other mourners are also caught up in the grief and crying while Johnny scratches his head.

BACK AT CASA FERNANDO, Luisa angrily asks why he didn’t have the courage to tell her. When he asked her not to control him like his mother he could have told her then that he had doubts or that he no longer loved her. Why did he allow her to continue to get her hopes up? While she was here happily trying on her wedding gown, he was running after Teresa in Zacatecas. She asks if he slept with her there. He swears by his mother that he hasn’t slept with her. She accuses him of lying and says Teresa is the worst. He disagrees, saying Teresa had already decided to get a divorce because of the way Arturo treated her. Luisa angrily disagrees, saying Teresa decided to divorce Arturo only after she’d taken in Fernando (embaucar). She now understands why Oriana warned her about Teresa. She takes the engagement ring and places it on his finger. Then she places his hand on her chest, dramatically asking if he can feel that. It’s her heart, and he’s destroyed it! She’s lost him but there’s no use in cursing (maldecir) him or hating him. His sin will be his penance because she doubts he and Teresa can possibly be happy now that they’ve destroyed her and her brother. He can only stand there, speechless. PERRO!!!!

CASA GENOVENOM: The Rat Pack has convened and Genovibora says she’s fixed it so a rumor will start circulating about faulty construction at Luna Turqueza. Rubigote thinks they need to take more drastic measures. Geno is on it even though she may need to travel to Cancun. The idea is to cause much greater problems for the condos and then make them public. Aiiiiiiida takes this all in and hopes their plans work in their favor but thinks it can be done another way. Geno wonders if Oriana will continue to support Fernando after he dumped Luisa for Teresa. This is all news to Rubigote and Aiida confirms it. She also says karma’s a b!tch because Teresa’s father died yesterday. Life always hits where it’ll hurt most. Armando was the only person Teresa truly cared for and now he’s no longer by her side. Ruben seems happy to hear that.

CASA LEDESMA: Hernan and Esperanza talk about Teresa and Refugio’s loss. He’s sure her presence there helped ease their pain. He thinks they should forget about that for now and he begins to kiss her.

HOSPITAL: Juana visits Hector to talk about Aurora. She doesn’t feel it’s right for him to reject Mariano after Aurora waited so many years to finally be happy with him. He feels Aurora’s just fooling herself by justifying his actions. She forgives him just so she can keep him near. He will not support Aurora’s failure to take her proper place. Juana disagrees, saying that because Aurora has taken her proper place is precisely the reason Mariano fell in love with her. Hector says he will not change his mind and Aurora needn’t send her to talk to him. Juana says she came on her own because she thought she could change his mind. She sees now that she can’t. She’s not sure it’s because he disapproves of Mariano or
because he’s still angry with her for having married Jughead.

CASA LEDESMA: Hernan is trying to get frisky with his lady love but she pulls away saying that since Rodriguito’s disappearance she just doesn’t feel like doing anything. He feels they’ve done everything possible to find him but they must continue with their life. He tries to get close again and again she pulls away saying, “Maybe you’d understand if the baby had been taken from you!” He tells her to relax and repeats they must go on with their lives. He goes on to suggest they have a baby. Ohhhhh, bad move Hernan. She accuses him of thinking another a baby would replace Rodriguito. It’ll never happen. NUNCA!

MARIANO/ARTURO APT BUILDING: Fito is dressed as a handyman and is talking to the doofus parking attendant who gives him Mariano’s apartment #209 and verifies he’s not there now. Fito walks away as if to wait for Mariano when Arturo and Teresa walk up. He turns away so they won’t see him, pretending to clean the lightpost.

CASA CENOVENOM: Geno is on the couch with “Paulito” leaving an angry message for Ruben, telling him to call her back. Aiiiiida turns up, apparently picking her up for a trip to “el Club”. Geno quickly tells the maid to take the baby to his room before Aiiiiida can get too close. Geno gives the maid instructions as Aiiiida eyes her suspiciously. She knows something’s smells around here and it’s not “Paulito’s” pañal!

VECINDAD: Pati attempts to get Refugio to lie down but she refuses to lie down without Armando. Juana talks her into resting on Teresa’s bed.

MARIANO’S APARTMENT: Yikes! “Handyman” Fito is attempting to open Mariano’s door when doofus attendant shows up. Fito pretends he’s knocking at the door then asks when the good doctor is expected. Attendant tells him Mariano doesn’t have fixed hours. He walks Fito out, worried now that someone may find out he gave out Mariano’s apt # AND let Fito in the building. Knucklehead!

VECINDAD: Juana’s chattering away about the Luisa/Fernando breakup. Boboberto has his back to her, not joining the conversation. Oh, I thought he was going to spill the beans on the Fer/Ter affair but all they do is talk about his jealousy of Hector, the possibility of adoption, etc. etc. zzzzzzzzzzz

CASA FERNANDO: Oriana has come by to see if anything came of Nando’s discussion with Luisa, has he changed his mind? He explains nothing has changed. He only wanted apologize again and hand over the house but this only worsened things. Luisa doesn’t want the house. She thought he had called to reconcile which Oriana thinks would be best. He quickly nixes that idea and warns her not to start in with her threats. He has his own businesses and his inheritance and that’s enough to for him to continue to live in the style he’s grown accustomed to for the rest of his life. Even if it weren’t so, he’s not going to give in to her blackmail. She can take away her businesses, even those they began together, go for it. But, he warns her, if she doesn’t accept Teresa, he will be the one to walk away from her! Bam! He walks away from her and Momma looks like she’s trying to think of Plan B.

FITO AND RUBIGOTE meet out on the street somewhere. Fito tells him he’s already scoped out Mariano’s place and assures him he’s a pro and it will happen as promised. Ruben’s called him out here because there are certain things he prefer they not discuss in front of Her Rootness, for example what is REALLY going to happen to Mariano. Fito gets all serious, “Like what?” Ruben explains he doesn’t just want Mariano beat up, he wants that infeliz dead!

HOSPITAL: Smarmy scene with Mariano and Aurora smooching in his office (how unprofessional). They both talk about how happy they are. She’s nervous about her upcoming exams and he tells her that’s why he’s agreed to help her study although he doesn’t know how he’ll get through the whole session without kissing her.

BACK TO FITO/RUBIGOTE: Fito wants to know why Rubigote is so hot to have Mariano whacked. (Funny, in this segment he calls Ruben ‘lic’, pronounced ‘leek’)Ruben almost says it’s about his hija but changes gears and says he doesn’t want Mariano anywhere near his loved ones. Fito assumes he’s speaking of Espe. Ruben tells him to just do as he asks and not ask questions. Furthermore, he wants his son’s medalla returned unbeknownst to Geno. Fito asks if Ruben is going to pay him for the medalla and the whack job. He only asks because as they both know, the one with all the lana is the Rooted One. Ruben says, “let me worry about that. That’s my problem.” Fito explains Ruben’s problems become his problems if Ruben doesn’t have the money to pay him. Ruben tells him not worry, everything can change. But in order for that to happen he needs Fito’s help. If Fito sticks with him, he’ll have plenty of work. Yeah, he gets to do all the dirty work but he can do anything, for a price. And much more for his loyalty (lealtad). Ruben reminds him this contract is between the two of them. Geno doesn’t need to know about it.

PENTHOUSE: Arturo has taken Teresa home with him. He tells her to rest and they can talk later. She’s very tired and wants to sleep. She asks him to join her and not leave her alone. Her cell rings and he grabs it first, seeing it’s from Fernando. He demands to know if it’s true Fernando didn’t marry Luisa because of her. When she doesn’t answer, he lifts her by the shoulders and says he already knows she was cheating on him with Fernando, who was like a brother to him. He wants to know if she’s in love with Fernando, or is it his money she’s after. CONTÉSTAME!!!!

CASA FERNANDO: When Teresa doesn’t answer his call, Ferneanderthal tells Oriana the three of them must talk this through. Oriana has nothing to say to her. She can’t believe he’d turn his back on his own mother for that arribista! It’s not love he feels for her, it’s passion. She slept with him and drove him crazy…..because she’s an expert at that. Oriana starts to call her a cualquiera but Fernando stops her telling her not to dare insult Teresa and for her information, he hasn’t slept with her. Oriana doesn’t believe him, saying Teresa didn’t respect his relationship with Luisa or her marriage to Arturo. He needs to admit that Teresa enticed him and now he’s driven by desire. That’s what that type of woman does and if he likes it that much he can sleep with her as many times as he likes, but he shouldn’t marry her.

PENTHOUSE: Arturo’s waiting for an answer. Does she love Fernando or did she seduce him in order to enjoy his fortune. She tells him he’s hurting her and finally breaks away from him and falls back on the bed. He already knows the answer: It was for “interés”! Just like she left Mariano because he (Arturo) had money, now she’ll leave him for someone who give her all the luxuries that she loves sooooo much! But this time she really had no limits. She showed no consideration for the fact that he is Arturo’s BFF or that Luisa is supposedly her BFF. If she had to leave him for someone, couldn’t she have found someone else? Why did she have to destroy Luisa and the friendship he’s had with Fernando since childhood? She tries to tell him she didn’t go looking for that. LIES! He accuses her of calculating every move as though they are all pieces in her game of chess (ajedrez). He had reason to be jealous. He knew she was involved with someone else but he could not imagine his rival would turn out to be Fernando! How could he when he considered him his brother. How they must have laughed at him. He will NEVER grant her a divorce. She’s his woman because he bought her, right? For her it was only a financial transaction. Teresa’s heard enough! She admits she wasn’t in love with him when they got married but she was fascinated by him. She was deslumbrada (dazzled) by everything he could offer her. She mistakenly thought that was love. She did eventually feel true love for him – when she discovered he had slept with Paloma. She realized through her jealousy that she truly loved him. Then when they traveled she discovered so many new things about him. She fell in love with him when she saw how much he tried to win her back. “Win you back?” he asks. He never won her in the first place, his money did. “But,” she tells him, “I fell in love with you. I want you to see it clearly that I love you and you have no idea that when I touch you, when I kiss you……” They lock lips in a passionate kiss but he breaks away first, asking if she loves him why did she cheat on him with Fernando. She shouts at him, “It’s all your fault! I told you you needed to come out ahead and accept Fernando’s help!” Arturo puts his hands to his face in frustration and says sarcastically that because he didn’t do that she clearly had to get involved with Fernando.

EL CLUB: The Rat Club (less Rubigote) meet with Oriana. She tells them she’s never seen Fernando so aggressive. Geno blames it on Teresa’s bad influence and Aiiiiiida says that rrrrrrrrata de vecindad bewitches men and makes them lose all reason. Oriana can only hope Fernando doesn’t commit any more locuras in order to be with her. There’s nothing more Oriana can do. Fernando’s accustomed to doing as he pleases as well as enjoying any woman who comes near him but she will not allow him to bring just anyone near her. Problem is, Geno says, he inherited so much money father that he doesn’t care what Oriana thinks. Oriana would like to teach him a good lesson (escarmiento). Aiiida sees Oriana has joined the I Hate Teresa Club. To begin with, they’d like to see that the remaining Luna Turqueza condos don’t sell. Oriana doesn’t think that’s such a bad idea. This way Fernando will see all the bad luck Teresa has brought upon him, just as it did with Arturo. She’s going to do what she can to make her son realize this. Fernando has declared war, and war is what he’ll get. As for Luisa, she’s worse off than before and now even refuses to take the house he bought her. Geno feels this shows how dignified Luisa is. Aiiiida feels for Luisa then tells them Mariano tried to talk to Fernando at Armando’s wake. Oriana’s surprised to hear this. She spots Mariano walking by and calls him over. When he asks how she is, she complains that her blood pressure has shot up as a result of all this Fer/Ter mess. It’s impossible for her to relax to think her son is following in Arturo’s footsteps and may even end up the same, betrayed and penniless. She asks him to please talk to Fernando and tell him of his experience with Teresa. He explains he already tried. As he told Aiiiiida, Fernando is not in the right mindset to listen to reason. Oriana thinks Teresa still loves Mariano. Mariano says he’s in love with Aurora and he wants to remain as far away as possible from Teresa. Besides, he’s convinced she’s in love with her husband. Aiiiida finds that hard to believe. Teresa only loves money. Mariano agrees she’s very ambitious but it’s also true she loves Arturo. One can’t hide love or money. He cites the loss of a loved one as an example. People in mourning will draw strength from someone they love. It was obvious to him that person was Arturo for Teresa. Oriana is surprised to hear Arturo attended the wake.

LUCIA’S APARTMENT: Luisa arrives and tells Lucia what happened between her and Fernando. She was an idiot to get her hopes up. She hadn’t even considered he had purchased the house where they lived. She doesn’t know where she’ll live now. Lucia immediately offers to take her in.

PENTHOUSE: Teresa tells Arturo he pushed her away with his drunkenness and by testing her loyalty and that’s why she was drawn to Fernando. He was there for her. DING-DONG!!!! It’s the Fer-shark! He walks in asking if she’s ok, “mi amor”. ARTURO: “I’m talking with my wife.” FERNANDO: “More like bothering her. She’s already made her choice now why don’t you step aside. Learn to accept your loss.” Oh yeah? ARTURO: “If you’re so sure you’ve won, then why did Teresa kiss me just now?” FERNANDO: “Mentira. You’re only saying this to make me angry. Teresa chose me. She prefers me!” Arturo drags Teresa and puts her between them asking her to choose here and now --- “which of the two do you prefer?”
